Hi there, Liz.
Fine thanks. Pain manageable, Rose?
Hi Peach

And to you as well, rose.
today, yes thanx, liz. despite hydro this morning....lol
what kind of exercise do you have to do now Rose
:)
i'm walking up and down a step, 20 times, doing half-squats 20 times, and high knee marching.
OMG - you could almost join me at the gym
plus lots of walking, forwards, backwards sideways. oh and leg abductors 20 times.
a complete workout it sounds like
*grin* in a few weeks that's where i'm going to be liz...in the gym.
Under supervision, of course!
they have a gym at the hospital?
well, yeah. and she's going to put me on their exercise bike as well.
Yay Rose - go for it!
the gym is at the physiotherapy clinic. it is a sports clinic, which is why i like it.
is don going to go with you and join in on all the fun
he'll be to busy laughing to do anything...lol
he could laugh and peddle at the same time, couldnt he?
but i might encourage him to re-discover his indoor gym equipment, out in the garage.
it would be ashame that you get into top shape and not him
I'm sure Rose will keep him in shape!
BBS

Well, I don't have any of those!
Rose, I sure could use a clue for an7-32 please....thanks

If no one else minds, I'd take some clues.

Thanks much, rose.

an8, an4, against + **, myself and i + **d, colour

Thanks again. All new words for me!

Not sure about fuss but looking.

Thanks so much, Rose.

Rose, I would offer you some coffee, but I know you dont like it at your hour
Pug, did you get any rain last night or today?
Welcome back
*giggle* freshly ground is okay...but i know yours is instant...care to join me at a party at 3am?
not yesterday Peach and I dont know about last night or the morning yet, I havent looked out. But we had very strong winds yesterday and was very cold. The wind is still blowing but nothing like yesterday
why not Rose, Iam sure I will be awake
It rained all last night and most of the day. We needed it though. Someone said more is on the way. I can go to sleep when the rain hits my patio cover (tin, I guess).
is it a cold rain
Yeah, we've had an extraordinary amount of strong wind lately.
Yes, the rain is very cold.
I know our wind was coming from out of the north and it sure carried a bit with it
bite not bit
It surely isn't fun to have to go outside.
no its not---I will be so glad for a steady temp and warmer weather
Indeed!
my pussywillow tree has little pea size cotton buds all over it
That, at leastl, gives hope that it will get warm, eh?
120 down. Taking a break!
Iam hoping! did see a couple of robins a few days ago--so those are signs
so happy your pussy is budding, pugs...
least - even
Lol Rose :)
lol Rose--that does not sound too nice
oh, dear...did that come out aloud?
you are getting up there to Ruru's level
LOL, Rose, aren't we all?
i try, dear, i try....
LOL
did you have a bad storm the other day Rose
not too bad, pugs. a lot of much needed rain.
do you have sandy ground there Rose
Well, dear peeps, I need to do a few things before daylight, so I will bid you all a good day/night. Blessings.
bye Peach, take care
Should've said, Happy St Patricks Day to those celebrating.
Thanks for the card, Pugs :)
Rose,Liz and other friends--going to take a break from this for awhile--wish you all blessings and all the good things of the day/night---hugs and love.......thanks Liz and you are welcome--bye all
nope, pugs. we have clay...
xoxox pugs, hope your day is wonderful.
peach...xoxox....hope your day brings you happiness.
Oh, I forgot to wish everyone 'HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY. It was on this day, 42 years ago my youngest daughter had her last heart surgery. I'm so very thankful.
A good reason to celebrate, peach :)
Yes, I thank God for her every day.
See y'all later.
peack...{{hugs}} what a wonderful occasion to celebrate!!!
oh, dear...* peacH *...lol
Rose?
yes, liz?
Did Pugs get her reader yet?
yes, hun...
I checked she was offline before I wrote that!
What a fantastic thing to do.
not me, hun. sprite....i was just the instrument...
Didn't want to spoil the surprise!
Still fantastic.
*grin* it's nice to be a part of something so lovely. sprite is one heck of a woman...
Sure is. Really hope we can get to Amsterdam later this year.
Depends on money though.
trying my bestest...my bro' has dug his heels in...no money until early august. *sigh* he can be so.....
Grrrr! I know well try to get there but were also doing Paris to see my nephew.
ns
g'day mari
good morning everyone.
mari, my dear. how are you?
I am doing good. Just had cataract surgery
oh, mari. is all good? how many days post are you?
one week
also one week
okay...and how do you feel?
ha your eye-patch been removed yet?
Like the lights are someone put the lights on.
*grin* yeah...that is what MIL said....she didn't realise just how much she had lost.
yes. The colors are very bright. I thought I saw colors before just right. beautiful
how old are you, mari? not the exact age, a ball-park figure is okay....
MIL thought her new rug was all browns....it is actually cream, green and burgundy.
mari, it is such a major decision...anything to do with our sight is scary. i am proud of you for making the decision to go ahead to have the surgery.
does anyone need a hand....with clues? getting late here.
okay...hope all who follow enjoy the grid..xoxox
Tpo o' the morning
And the rest of the day to you Ruby! xx
hello worzelxx
this is the first time I've sat down, this awful morning
Last night the washing machine gave up the ghost and took down the house's electricity
Oooo not good. Are you coping okay now? x
I didn't realize what the problem was right away
I was able to order a new one by phone and it will be delivered on Wed. Happily, I got an electrician to come with in 30 minutes (after I borrowed a cell phone, because the phones are electric, too)
I've not been able to sit still much for the last 12 hours either - different reasons though - got a hospital trip today and had to have some atomic laxative powder last night! I wouldn't recommend the stuff to my worst enemy!!!
that's why I've never had a colonoscopy! You poor thing
Oh I'll be okay - once I can stop going to the loo lol. Funny thing is I haven't eaten since for nearly 24 hours, as requested, but I'm not really hungry
88 on my first foay. Good luck with your test! xx
foray*
Thanks Ruby. I must dash off now and start getting myself sorted. Rather strange - this is my foray of the morning and I too am on 88!!! Weird!
*first
anyways, dashing off now. Good luck with your electricals Ruby xx *poof*
it is snowing here and I am NOT a happy camper!
hello peri, I feel sorry for you with all that snow. Isn't it unusual for Portland?
I am in Pennsylvania
why did I think you were in Portland? Duh moi
good morning everyone:))
{{crossy}}
((ruby))
Exactly, Haz.
I feel guilty with our wonderful spring weather. I Wonder if we'll get a whole winter's snow all at once in April.....
a balmy minus 20c here ruby Tuesday:)
that's awful, big crossy. I would give you a big hug, but it probably wouldn't amount to much
Hi Everybody
howdy, aloy
we've had nothing older than -3C all winter, and that was only a couple of nights
hello, aloy
colder*
hugs are never wasted and are generally worth more than many things we value with money
good morning all - anothe4r cold snowy morning here - morning gathering cancelled
{{teach}}
howdy, teach, bitter cold here, but clear and sunny
hi, all...12 days since my oral surgery, and I am hopeful about my ability to wear dentures for the first time.
howdy, angel
hi wvt and Angelsong
I know all about dental issues this year, angel. I hope you are near the end of it all
hi angel
crossy...justbeginning, really, but I am so glad to have my natural teeth gone. they were making me sick.
there are so many ways a bad set of teeth impact our overall health:(
must makea pureed but tasty soup for the PB!
mmm, crossy will make a nice French Canadian split pea soup with chunks of smoked ham
make sure the chunks are in small pieces lol
will do:)
will be so tender that angel can gum them to death:)
first day back at classes for crossy. Was a long march break
lol, crossy!m one oral surgeon I met with wanted 10k just to extact my teeth...
!!!!
unbelievable!
here, a single tooth pull is $75 so multiply that by the number of teeth in yer head. $10k is insane
Although I love split pea soup, I've never made it. Will have to see if those dried peas are available here.....
got the extractions done, temporary and pernanent dentures and after care and adjustments done for around 4k, though...
love making split pea soup - maybe that's what i will do today since i will be at home
Angel, is your town in TX near to Austin?
it is the staff of life, ruby. Add a nice Greek salad with it and a loaf of Crusty Italian bread slathered in creamery butter.
corned beef and cabbage on the menu here - in honor of St. Patty's Day
yes, ruby
ahh yes, today is the big day. I almost forgot
<-- loves corned beef and cabbage, but the only corned beef I can get is a sort of pulverized product in cans from the \uk
I'm less than an hour from Austin, which is my hometown
and irish soda bread - just enjoyed that for firwet time yesterday and now want to make it for myself
that's where my son lives
well, I must head to school T.C all and happy babbling!.. poink!
{{crossy}}
bye, crossy.. hagd
<-- loves Austin
have a good day crossy
but it's a 23 hour 3-leg flight from here!
my son loved Austin too, but cedar fever drove him away
my son has that, too, but he is sufficiently stubborn not to be deterred
what is cedar fever?
It's funny because he never had allergies, either in NY state or in Miami
Cedar fever must be really pernicious
allergic reaction to pollen
yes, when the inlaws visited, they both became quite ill and neither had previously had allergy problems.. bronchial reaction that lasted a long time
I think I'm somewhat allergic to my dogs, but \I'm stubborn too and just wash my hands all the time
any clues for any 8 or even stats?
make a charitable do8, ruby
SQ 8 x 2 - to wiggle around
ty teach, I missed those
thnx aloy
ty aloy
yw, a fun grid today
aloy: do you know St. Ignatius School/church? My son plays there with his band sometimes
in
Cleveland? Yes, I do know about it but haven't been there.. a great school with winning sports record too
no, in Austin
I guess St. Igniatius got around!
lol, guess so
120 and see you later, kids
ciao, ruby, tc
hagd {{ruby}}
good morning all, help with lone N pls
also need that one peri
ni6.18, a pl of the one before it
twisty word that ends with 2000 lbs
duh,, ty Aloy
I already had the singular :(
yw, I miss plurals all the time too
the thought of having to clean off my car is making me cross
thnx - didn't have either one
but the snow is not too much and will not last
thanks for the sq8 words
Happy St Patricks Day, one & all.ðŸ€ðŸ€ðŸ€
it is getting old, right? St. Patty's Day snow was usually the very last for us up north
same thought here peri - but morning gathering was cancelled and maybe it will melt off by the afternoon outing
Happy St Patricks Day Soodle
Happy St. Patrick's Day to all. *Puts soda bread, butter and honey in the PB*
same to you, Soodle!
The leprechauns came and ate up all the soda bread & honey we left out for them. They drank up all the Irish whiskey we left out for them too. Alas, the little buggars left 4 inches of snow behind.
But they left some gold as well, so I won't complain.
will look up soda bread and fix it instead of corn bread
down to the last dozen, brb, need a bite to eat
after having soda bread at a luncheon yeseterday found lots opf recipes - good with currants or raisins in it
snot
Wow, Peri really is cross
I love my Grandmother's recipe for soda bread. It calls for sour cream, which makes it very light, not as dense as some of the original recipes.
I am stuck with 84 left and only one 7 and two 8's
Date
computer is freezing up and music keeps popping up in the background.. time for a CC cleaner maybe.. anyway, must scoot.. make it a good day, everyone! poof
halfway, NBT and NBS - also have 84 left - time for a break
We're back online. I had to reboot the server, and it took its sweet time doing so.
thankx ! and have a nice day.
hello, monty!
hi there TO ! how have you been ?
i am fine, and you?

sorry about that, but the last part is good. :)
am usually in "babble stealth mode" these days...
ah, i as wel. trying to spend less time because i have so many things to do.
yes...and i thought retirement meant MORE fr4 ti4..."sigh"
lol no it does not!
ok, must get moving. just wanted to say hello since its been a while. catch you later, luc!
being retired means that you have time to do all the things that you wanted to do - so you are busier than ever
well, 1st pass done: 143/66 - gotta go - nice seeing you ((TO)) - take care - hagd to all lurkers as well - "poof"
morning all!
hello, teach and sue
good morning sue and TO - happy St Patricks Day
oh hi teach ... you are So right...and hi there sue ! - sorry, must go - bye for now
bye, montreal!
and hi wv and TO!
hagd montreal
thx - "real poof"
just here briefly - exercise at 9!
yes, off to start the day. getting up later, cough makes it impossible to sleep through
ugh, sorry about the cough, TO!
happy babbling, everyone
Care to share your Grandmother's recipe, MollyL?
can anyone give me a clue for the first de6/24 please? I just cannot find anything that will fit.
I cannot believe I just asked for that clue. I have it now. It was obvious
Hiyas, kiddos!
:-( Hello??
I think they are all down at the pub, drinking it up.
Ah. Well, we should join them!
Babble server must still be acting up. Tried to change my icon three times and it just won't change.
I'm seeing what looks like a Polly Pocket doll set
No. I changed it to a pot of gold/rainbow. Still showing fruit porn.
I see a pot of gold when I pull it up judi, but not on the chat.
Weird. Oh well, screw it.
maybe you need to refresh babble.
I've refreshed several times. Closed out and re-opened. I give up.
if I click on your icon, it shows up as pot of gold... weird
Now I see the pot o'gold.
lol. I see fruit.
Click on your icon and (in the white space) right click and hit RELOAD
Blech, it's snowing again.
Pfffth. Now I see the pot o gold only when I click on my icon. Bugger!
*checks the pb..drug cabinet..people are seeing fruits and pots of gold*
Must be that bathtub vodka we all drank yesterday.
Ewww
Things like that happen on a day such as this. People see leprechauns too.
Well those people tend to drink a lot
Oh kind sir, you must be mistaken. There are no people who drink a lot here. (Tries not to laugh)
happy birthday to my brother in law called Pat, even if his name is George.
fw
hello hello
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Remember: If you see a Leprechaun - do not catch it unless you wish to die a horrible death.
wtg mixi
Cos, you need to watch Darby O'Gill again.
:-P
thats no fun though!
*Loves Darby O'Gill*
is that like an Irish Princess Bride?
*Bets Ru secretly watches The Princess Bride like a cult follower*
You know what they say about the biggest deniers? :)
Indeed Cos. He probably dresses up as The Dread Pirate Roberts for Halloween.
Not as Buttercup?
That's for...um...private stuff
<---doesn't "Dress" up.. prefers to get "undressed"
That falls under "private stuff"
I still think he has The Princess Bride and The Princess Diaries confused.
two movies I watch again and again are Big Lebowski and Pulp FIction.. never get tired of them
and Casablanca
and the Godfather #1
sorry, slipped on the keyboard
Give the man a Royale With Cheese and a bong
Ruby's had a cocktail ...ruby's had a cocktail
Hell and Happy St. Pat's to you all. I miss the parades and festivities in NY.
even Hello*
LOL
hello
"A" cocktail? When was the last time Ruby had just one?
no cocktail for me tonight
ruby did you have too much irish cream in your coffee today?
I am embarrassed about our weather, we have sunshine 70F or so and flowers
what ..is it lent for you:D
See, she's drinking straight out of the bottle.
there was just too much to do today
I cant drink til 930pm :(
ruby would you like some rain with that or sleet?
I think I'll never live down my bad rep.....
believe it or not, we need some rain. Of course last spring, that's all we got
*prints up several Alcohol "time Cards" for Cos*
what happens at 9:30, cos?
Note: Soodle checked in about 7 or so this morning, just as she was uncorking her first bottle.
I am off work then ruby
Never underestimate the fun of drinking WHILE at work.
aaah. When I still worked, I used to keep a bottle of Dominican rum in my desk and at 5, before they went home, several of the women would bring in cokes and glasses.
that'd be great for the "employment history"
I wouldnt mind if I didnt have to drive :P
And since I am skin and bones it dos not take me much
<---is lucky drinking is part of work :D
when Burt was in town, I would serve him martinis in his office or in the conference room.
Those were decadent dAYS
I bet that is not all she served up in the conference room. : D

we have about 10 inches of snow here in DC area and it is so gorgeous out! just beautiful.
Snow, gorgeous? Oh I am so beyond that this winter.
I was driving home today from my first shift at work at 845am and there were drunk people in the middle of the street wearing leprechaun hats.
and that is odd on March 17 because......
Nah not odd. Just amusing.
:D
I gave them a thumbs up

afternoon everyone:)
hello crossy!
Got my last English paper back today and it looks like I am going into Next Mondays final exam with a 95% Crossy gets a cookie and a gold star:)
and BACON!!
mmm,bacon
I wonder if I can my final paper on the merits of bacon?
LOL...maybe include samples for extra credit?
mm ,bribing the teacher. love it
As long as teacher is not vegetarian!
I always find out their favorite colour, if they like tea or coffe and how they prefer their citations and references;)
Teachers pet material!
well, it is all, nitpicking and nuances when you go from 90 -98% so everything helps
I tell the kids in class that 70-90% is the easy part, it is all rough brush strokes
hi again, is there a problem with Lickety's list? seems there are words missing or am I counting wrong. I think I need another D.
true that!
they have till the end of the week to get in all assignments. It is separating the wheat from the chaff. Yhe slakers for the first 5 weeks are going down in flames as they come to the sidden realization that they will not get done two of the key papers that are worth 15% each
the*
sudden
Lickety's list seems fine to me, Mary.
thx Molly I will recheck
restart both babble and lickety and they should recalibrate themselves
My 31 year old has learned that lesson the hard way!
yes, it is a slippery slpe when you think you have all the time in the world to get a paper done
Hi, here I go still have not seen fireworks but i'm trying..
slope
hi nicky6
thx crosshair, restarting did the trick

Congrats, Cos!

Woot cos
All she kept saying (apart from swear words) was that her mother was going to kill her.

Hello, Hego :-)
You'd think with all the great technology they could make those things shatterproof.
How would they make more money out of it
True...I did feel a little sorry for the girl..she was so happy with the phone..but was showing off just a bit too much.

Well, heading out to scrounge lunch. Guinness corned beef dinner in crock pot...ready for the celebration tonight!!
Good grief, Bichon..hope you complained to the managers.
I didn't think it was interesting at the time. I was all alone
Oh, my.
Have a good time, Jilly!
I think he opened the door with his key by mistake.
Yikes!
It was a door which leads to a service corridor
Ah i see..well yes it seems more likely to of been a mistake then..hope he said sorry straight away.
Yes, he did. I don't even think he was employee of the University, but an outside contractor
I worked in a school and during rebuilding they were putting a shower in. One colleague planned to run at lunch time, she nipped to the loo saw there were no workmen there so she ran in, stripped all her clothes off and as she did so a spanner fell at here feet. She looked up and there was a big hole in the ceiling. I said the only way that could happen was that it was an a blokes top pocket and as he leant over for a better look0 it fell out!!
lolol
lol Deeha
I must admit i did laugh when i read that, Deeha..lol
Just saw on our news that a news channel in California had a small earthquake and they went under the table during a live broadcast.

And so.... My Lenten abstinence continues. Things didn't go my way today, so for the first Paddy's Day in years, you see before you a totally sober Soodle. I hate it.
good afternoon my friends
It gets worse.... Nobody cares....
I feel for you , soodles, poor Crossy is as sober as a judge as well.
tis a horrible thing
everything is terribly in focus, if you wish it to be, or not
Hello crossy and Soodle. Here in the great, Sunny Northwest we are also sober as judges. Glorious weather and fudge in the fridge awaiting dessert time.
howdy, stidmere
Beannacht DÃa Lá Féile Pádraig, Soodle. And my condolences.
Thank you Crossy. I know you feel my pain. :--)
mmmm, fudge...
Agus tu fein, Molls.
*Takes down all the St. Patrick's Day party decorations in the PB and sets up a dry little tea party with boring sandwiches. Ugh. *
Hey gMere. :-)
Hi soodle. There, there, we are full of consoling sounds for you.
lol, just scrolling through webs sites and it says "38 million North American's drink too much".. wish I could drink to that.
I guess I don't really deserve condolences. My liver is hopping out of my body, saying Thank You.
my liver is like a pickled egg. even if you suddenly remove it from it's long time bath of pickling brine, it remains pickled forevermore;)
We shall just have to have fun now that we can remember what we did that was funny.
I spent the afternoon riveted to Darby O Gill & The Little People, in the company of about 20 old folk. My! How the mighty have fallen.
*Drowns a shamrock or two for Soodle...looks for a more lively party*
Molly is going to make up for our shortcomings. Thank you Molly.
Yay Molls! I hope the Tullamore Dew has been broken out?
mmm.. Tullamore Dew....
Nothing wrong with watching Darby O'Gill on St. Patrick's Day. It's a tradition here.
tape a whole bunch of those excellent commercials they make and pour a wee dram and sit back and relax.
A bartender who knows what an "Irish and Irish" is...is my best friend. (Bottle of Harp and a shot of Jameson's)
Also, I fail to see why a day spent with the elders prohibited you from at least a pint at the pub.
I was driving, Mollls :-(
Well, yes, but we are not too off the charts to drive after one drink.
And is there some reason why you could not have had a wee sip at home?
Not here, you wouldn't. Zero tolerance. And by the time I got home, I couldn't be bothered.
This is far and away the saddest St. Patrick's Day tale I have ever heard. Off to weep in my glass o'Dew.
Enjoy, my friend! Enjoy. :-)
*Hears ancestors rolling in graves at "couldn't be bothered" *
I know! I'm a disgrace.
Well, *sigh* Happy St. Patrick's Day to you and your happy liver. *sigh*
G Mere, is Stidmama back in her house yet?
Not yet Soodle. She has cabinets in the kitchen and baths, doors in doorways and the trim needs putting in. Waiting for appliances and counter tops. Paint is pretty much completed. I think we can talk in terms of a few weeks.
The poor old pet. What an awful time she has been through. Please pass on my best wishes to her & hers.
Thank you Soodle. I shall be happy to give her the wishes from you.
hello dear friends@
:-)
Hello Trif
*Hands Trif the emerald tiara, since she is in the grid*
Hello Trif.
why thank you molly! It looks charming!
Well spotted, Molly
I was going to give one to Soodle for "Sood" and "Trim" but she earned her way out of that.
so hey - primo is turning 21, at midnight tonight. In Boston. On frigging St. Paddy's Day. That should go well, eh? God help us all
Wah. :-(
I was thinking about him earlier today Trif. What a gangbusters way to turn 21.
Lol, ztrif. Auspicious!
what takes out green beer vomit stains?
At least SOMEONE knows how to properly celebrate The Day.
Rule Number 1 Of Turning 21: Momma no longer cleans up after your puke fest.
In other news: valentine is having dinner tonight with his ex wife. Im trying not to obsess, but ITS HARD
I'm ashamed. And happy for Son of Trif. And unconcerned about the puke.
do not know, trif. I select carpet colour based on the shade of hairballs our 3 cats like to puke up. seems easier that way
I have no intention of cleaning it up! Just wanted to know
good to know crossy, ta
May she have the slightly out of date seafood Trif....
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
*Ties fingers about the Valentine/ex wife dinner*
I am SO IN LOVE with you right now, soodle!
I told him to make sure he calls her ElizaBeth.
It's a tricky old time for you, Trif, but I have no doubt he will be so happy to come home to you.
we don't live together soodle
Yet..........
Oh crap...unties fingers...it's St. Patrick's Day...he should be spending it with the Irish woman that he loves...kill me now
His son is in town, Molly....they are all getting together, it's a nice thing.
actually, funny you should say that. He is getting ready to move apartments, and tertiare said "why doesn't he just move in here?" and when I answered "we are at that stage yet honey." She rolled her eyes, said "adults! Jesus!" and flounced out of the room. It was SO FUNNY
Out of the mouths of babes......
Im not really ready either
Ah, I must have misunderstood the "I'm trying not to obsess" comment.
Well, my opinion, for what its worth, is that life is short. If you get a shot at happiness, go for it.
no, Im obsessing even though it is a good thing
I agree soodle, but I am a package deal
I'd rather be sorry for something I did, than for something that I didn't do. With apologies to Kris Kristofferson for misquoting him.
again, for the most part I agree, but I feel I must be very, very careful here, for all our sakes.
All for now here. Not finished, but done. Enjoy your St. Patrick's Day!!
you too stid!
I'll take the other road on that one. I've been sorry for something I did, really sorry. And that kind of damage can last a long time. Nothing wrong with proceeding with caution.
in other news - is anyone here watching the new series of Cosmos? I am SO HOOKED
Trif, I've been single now for almost 7 years. Yes, there have been a few dalliances, but, nothing or nobody I would consider a 'keeper'. I have fallen into a very nice pattern, where I am master ( or mistress) of my own destiny, and I'm very comfortable with that. Maybe I'm just kazy.
Lazy!
sounds perfect to me, soodle! I love that valentine of mine, but I like my private time too, and my time with my girls. They will be grown and gone soon enough.
I have yet to see the new series, but wish to check it out asap
I am almost never sorry for anything :D
crossy, you will fall into it like a rabbit down a hole. it's great.
Nat Geo was airing the original series with carl Sagan a week or two ago:)
love me some carl!
<--getting ready for the dalliance phase :D
soodles is "Invictus" and the captain of her soul:)
I can't quite believe Fox is airing it here in the US....feel certain they are getting all SORTS of hate mail from those who are convinced the earth is only 6000 years old
yeah.. those are the same people who buy tea bags but don't use them to make a beverage
everyone who mails in a complaint now gets, at no additional charge, the full set of Darwins works in a deluxe tooled leather jacket set!
Not only is Soodles captain of her soul, but she is in charge of her home, her finances(God help us) and her heart. And has never been as content.
rock ON soodle! I so want to be you when I grow up!
I can say, quite proudly, that I have almost paid off one whole credit card - the one that had Secondo's ticket to Australia on it. I'm pretty proud of myself, I must say
Nothing quite as satisfying as being in control. (Says the woman who spent 17 years married to a control freak).
PREACH
also nothing quite as scary....
The day I called the insurance company & organised my own car insurance (first time in 20 years) was triumphant.
well done you!!!
to be honest, I never used to drive in Ireland. Way too stressful - even for this boston girl!
Well, all the best to Number 1 son on his 21st. Its a huge landmark. I'm noodling off to bed now. One last Happy Paddy's Day to all my dear Babble Buddies. Slan.
*Tosses holy water at Soodle*
(puts out matches)
acck! holy water!.. it burns!.. it freezes!
night soodle dea
dear
Is sitonit not a word? Sit on it!
lol kap.
this grid seems like it has a lot of words that it doesn't have.
Alternately, I see a lot of words that aren't there.
it even has way to many missing words that are not there
sounding like o-o :)
How so.
As I was walking up the stair/I met a man who wasn't there./
He wasn't there again today/ I wish I WISH he'd go away!
and that is the story of our lives.
was he from St. Ives?
No, that is another man.
He had 7 wives.
The man I am referring to isn't there.
and seven cats
Every day.
Pest.
you must tell him to vanish
That is another guy entirely.
The next time he's not there, I'll tell him.
I have to leave you now, and then I won't be here either.
yes, tell him that his not being there and not getting in the way of things is messing up your schedual in a horrible manner
schedule
and now it is time for Crossy"s quote of the day!!!
“Picking five favorite books is like picking the five body parts you’d most like not to lose.†― Neil Gaiman
The quote is a non sequitur. It does not preclude having more than five favorite books ... while limiting the body parts.
I just post them, id do not edit them or correct them, any errors intentional or implied are the product of the author(s) and not Crosshairs Tidbit/Quote of the day Inc.
I've got nbs, and I'm over halfway, but I can't get the bottom row T...any help?
sorry, this grid is kicking my butt:(

Goood Evening, jes.
How goes, Nef?
are you tonight (I'm just getting here, got 30 words last night between sleeping, now I return knowing this is another grid I won't finish!
How about you?
i've got 42 left. no work tomorrow, cuz I'm taking Bruce to the dentist to get an estimated 4-5 hours of dentistry done. He'll be too drugged to drive himself home...
YUK! (Well, for him, anyway; I'm glad you have the day off)
yup. looking forward to a relaxing day of reading in the lobby :)
Just take some good reading material with you!
I've got about 150 unread books in my ereader :)
just finished The Invention of Wings -- really good
Good! :-) At least you have a good choice then!
like chicken wings?
What's it about Une?
I'm guessing it is a flight of fancy nef :D
based on true story -- Sue Monk Kidd -- two sisters in SC in early 1800s who became anti-slavery activists
good answer, ruru.
Where does the name come from, Une?
I believe it's from a blackbird pattern used by one of their family slaves who was a brilliant seamstress
okay, it sounds interesting to me....
I listened to the unabridged audiobook -- very well done
I always like to know where weird titles come from; some don't seem to have any connection to what the book is about these days
Kidd's audiobook version of her "Secret Life of Bees" won Best Audiobook the year it was released -- fantastic narrator
ok, back to finding my last 12 words :-)
i've heard secret life of bees was great, but haven't gotten around to reading it
I've heard of that one, it's on my list to be read too.
The invention of wings is the story of an 11 yr old girl in the south, who was given a slave for her birthday, and the following 30 something years of their lives together
the movie was NOT great but the audiobook WAS!
pida, she was given the gift of a slave girl but in reality, the girl died soon after -- the story of Sara and her sister is very close to fact
In any case, it's very well written and quite moving
I'm going to bow out for now; trying to watch the new "Cosmos" and the 2nd episode just came on again (I missed it yesterday & earlier tonight)
g'night, Nef, enjoy :)
bowing out of chog to finish grid :-)
Nite all
g'night, unea
