hi flosey. all good with you, dear?
whoot!! heya dee
yes thanks Rose
6 more days
had medical panel appointment yesterday. now have 2-3 week wait for the report to go to conciliator with their recommendations of workcover's responsibilities to me.
flosey, what great news...
what were your impressions of your meeting, rose?
Hope all goes well for you Rose
all positive dee. they did a full physical exam of my knee. and i was able to demonstrate how painful the nerve is.
Fantastic.
one of them said to me...you have been through a lot.
well, duh!! LOL... glad for the empathy, but it all seems so incredibly obvious to me
the surgeon couldn't seem to grasp, so to speak, about the nerve pain. i was lying on the table, and he was checking the joint for stability etc. i couldn't see his hands. he must have moved his hand and placed his thumb right over the nerve. then he went to grip my leg....i screamed and burst into tears.
how did he react when you screamed?
hope he felt like a clumsy fool
he jumped back, and looked absolutely mortified that he had hurt me.
totally agree, flosey!!
poor rose :-(
well at least i was able to demonstrate how sore it is...
that's how I am at my medical exams .. I weep a lot :D
lol, ru
*giggle* poor ruru...
and it was spontaneous, so that is even better, rose
that's what don said. especially about the tears. the nurse was really lovely, and the two doctors were so kind
hopefully all of that will expedite a positive response
just monkeyed the ps words
thx, flosey, I need those, too :)
both 5s
many thanks
what do hospitals charge for Kleenex in aussieland Rose ?
yw Dee
???? lol......they're free along with the sympathy and hand-holding....
here in America.. they'd be billed as teardrop evaporators and about $400 each of which Blue Shield would pay 39 cents
*explosive laughter*
sadly, ruru is only exaggerating a little bit. re kleenex in hospital here. :/
how much do they charge for loo paper?
don't ask gr
there's a surcharge to put it on the dispenser
fireworks... my last word so 4/9
wtg Dee
another one for the monkeys, Dee
WTG DEE!!!!
ty, flosey. Oh, last night after you left, flosey, I was able to find that gee and jee are the same definition.. commands for horses...
true, flosey!

I just remembered it from old westerns - early TV days
Good memory!
long ago!
not that long!!!!

seems a shorter time every year I have a birthday LOL
yes, the b'days get much closer
the years now seem to pass in a blink... really strange
I like to think of it as having been so busy !!!
gosh.. I can't believe I play this game with so many old farts
:D
lol, well ru, I do have to admit it but don't really care for the term you used
neither can I ru... you must be desperate
*giggle* have you looked in the mirror lately, ruru?
HAHA
ahhhhhh, thanks for the giggle
I went and got a flu shot the other day...
and the pharmacist asked if I had my Medicaid card.. I said that's the last time I'm shopping here.
:) wow, no kidding
he cracked up.. I told him I'm a long way from Medicare
that will be here in a blink, too :(
don't push me dee
teehee
I have to play around a bit now that I'm single before I consider that
:)
Well, ty all for the lovely time. I am off til the flip. Hopefully, we'll have some sunshine and temps above zero tomorrow!! *poofing with hugs*

to make money again, flosey
thanks juniperberet
yqw :)
haven't met you before, ah, different name
when you change your name, do you maintain your standing?
in the rankings
No, unfortunately... but I'd been away for almost a year at that point.
ah, might as well start over
and welcome back
Thank you. It's nice to come back and see most of the old faces still Babbling away :)
don't remember when I started but it would be about 7 or 8 years
It's also funny how quickly I got addicted to doing the daily grid instead of say, just filling in time with it every now and then as I intended!
yes, it grabs you! also the other players keep you encouraged
I definitely remember you... Sprite, Grannyrose, Crossy and Ru. There are a few new faces, but it seems to have stayed pretty stable.
ah, interesting
down to last one, can't get it, er6
back. g'day juni. nice to see you again
do you have it?
hi rose, maybe you can clue it???
to run a message, flosey
I was surprised at first; then I remembered how pleasant and supportive the community is, and realised there wouldn't have been too many dramas to drive people away, and that very few people active in the chog would just drift off like I did (I was always quite the lurker, anyway).
thanks Rose, right under my nose!!!
Hi grannyrose; sorry, was writing an essay ;)
and that's FW and I'm off to bed, goodnight all
WTG FLOSEY!!! sweet dreams, dear
tyty
Thanks, needed that too.
goodnight, Flosey, and wtg
*giggle* there have been a few hiccups, juni. but at the moment all is peaceful on the western front.
good to know :)
how are you? did your cramp clear up?
sooooo....where have you been and what have you done? i'm not nosey, mind..
juni...i have a marvellous form of magnesium. i have to import it from america.
lol, not much... Itook a break from babble and a couple of other sites because I was using the computer too much and it was bothering my eyesight. habits have changed enough that I think I can ge away with it again
glad to hear it... a pity you can't get it locally though
ahhhh. hubby has recently put a blue light filter on his computer. his eyes are much better, and his headaches, touch wood, have subsided too.
juni...the cost of magnesium here is just plain gross. i can import it from america for about 600% less than locally made products.
I use a program called F.lux which keeps the light consistent with natural light in your time-zone which seems to help a lot. I might look into a blue light filter, too, though .. just so I can keep babbling ;)
juni, i have also been on his case about wearing his glasses. i noticed he was squinting a lot, and told him off.
My hubby gave in on the glasses issue last year; now he has a pair on a chain, and *still* forgets to put them on his face!
I guess there's too much mark-up when manufacturers have to import all the supplies to make the stuff... still seems counter-intuitive, though.
well importing the stuff would be stiff competition for the australian products. i just refuse to pay their prices, and only have 33% of the product absorbed.
Wow, that's a hell of a quality difference, too.
Do all medications suffer that comparison in Australia, Granny?
ikr? australian product costs nearly AU$30 for 30 capsules/tablets. the stuff i buy AU$ 11 for 180 tablets.
juni, the natural remedy market is quite expensive. prescriptions because of PBS remain affordable to most of us.
ppppft. No brainer, no wonder you import. They must despair of people who do their research.
that cost includes postage...lol
i have actually passed on the product info internationally. not to mention among my friends and associates. everyone of them have had good results with it.
Good... that helps everyone. You want the responsibly priced suppliers to stay in business.
a close friend of mine was having trouble with her muscles aching, and she couldn't get up from a full squat without holding onto something. she took one tablet, and rang me the next day to say how much it has helped her, after one tablet.
and DH finally started taking it, and discovered he too can get up from a deep squat unaided.
brb, dinner ready, juni.
and back.
wb... sorry, was distracted looking for my last word
did you find it?
firewords, finally ... great little grid, though
WTG JUNIPERBERET!!!
ty
I'm going to give my eyes a rest... nice chatting with you grannyrose, I'll see you around the grid again I'm sure. Take care :)
see you, juni. again, lovely to have you back. xoxox
good morning all
good morning
{{hugs}} my darling sprite
hi ruby *hug* How's the mayhem?
whoot...and ruby {{hugs}}
*hugs rose* Hello dear friend :)
the mayhem continues - painter is back (for a change) and Rufie hates him, so there's a lot of barking going on
and {{sprite}}
It is so nice to coe down to my quiet studio and see that my friend are onlie
babble is responsible for more people keeping their sanity than any other game, I swear
{{rosie}} -- the 1st time didn't: take"
You are assuming that IU've kept mine? hahahah
you know me... always polite ;)
hmmm...pokes around in the corners of the room...aha...i've found it....is this a piece of your brain, ruby?
it is labeled sanity...lolol
is it from the left or the right side, rose?
I didn't expect thee painter today, so I was wearing a bathrose and fluffy slippers. Tres attractive!
*snort* the bottom?
Since I'm left-handed, I really ned the right side intact....
ruby is pretty in whatever she wears
*giggle* did you get a discount ruby?
(that's why I type so well lol)
hey, I like bathrose. I think it should be called bathrose. A. we look rosy when we come out of our baths B. we are pretty flowers within the petals of our bathrobe. So there.
last of laundry walls have been stripped. don wants to work on the floors next.
oh and C. it would be so nice to say 'Rose's bathrose'
that is cute, sprite, I didn't even see that typo
nice going Don! But wawtch that shoulder
i am actually starting to let myself get excited...
lol rose, you cynic!
moi?? cynic??
or would that be me... hm...
tomorrow we are taking the two older grandkiddies and their step-brother for a ride on puffing billy. it iis a lovely old steam train, and it runs through the dandenong ranges. we are only going half-way as i am guessing a potty stop and food/drink will be necessary after an hour.
btw, the oversleeping riddle has been solved. Tim had set the alarms in his cell phone. Several. But fell asleep listening to his music... with his in-ear hearing buds... so he didn't hear the alarm when it went off
don is going to drive through with a couple of strategic stops to get photos of them waving from the train.
oh lovely, rose
ahhh, sprite. good one...no more earbuds, right?
lucky grandkids!
that is what I told him, lol. He agreed. And thank God it doesn't mean he will lose the year. For each exam period, they get one 'free' encore. And if they have 10 or more exams in that period, even 2. Tim gets 2 this period, so one of those is for the missed science exam.
oh, thank heavens! i hope this has caused him to pull himself up.
yes it has. He is up and has showered already, and his exam today won't be till 1 pm.
col....as he should be....
gives him a chance to do the dishes....
first thing they asked him at school, lol... Tim, are you smoking weed?
exactemento, rose
hmmm...did i say that out aloud?
how's the word hunt going, ruby?
68
half!
you did, rose, lol. I didn't. Am trying to have confidence he will remember and do it.
good job!
What a pleasure, being away from te comotion
(nice spelling, huh?)
I bet. It is awful to have workers in the house.
we will pretend it is french. Le comotion. As in locomotion, lol. Loco.
plus the smell of the undercoat for the paper. I see why people do reno's in summer
anyone heard from puglet since her photos?
Charlie Hebdo is still unavailable here and there is a waitin list! Has it come ouf in Dutch?
i forget how many they printed...some huge number.
rose, we all have. A long letter on jan 9.
3 million, all sold out, but I think they're printing another 3 million today
ruby, I don't know, haven't checked it out. I try to pay as little attention as I can to horrible events, except for praying for the people involved.
but after that? there has been a weekend since then. her surgery is in a week.
not after that, no. She is no doubt very busy. Hospital and doctor visits in preparation of the op, and she may be working as much as she can until then to save up for the days she cannot work.
75 and time to see to old Burt
xx, ladies
*eye roll* she is going to be so sore...i am worried she will not give herself enough time to recover fully.
bye ruby, *hugs* for you and Burt
enjoy ruby...xoxox
Note on Charlie: I don't see any US flags here, so I don't know how other Americans feel about it, but I am thoroughly ashamed that our president was not in Paris, standing arm-in-arm with the rest of the major world leaders.
I know, I know. And no, she won't. I really really hope she won't rupture it.
didn't he do an official announcement about the US feelings?
and hi jwr :D
jwr, neither did our prime minister as far as i can see.
declaration*
but the both of them did do a very public condemnation of the action of the al qaeda.
I agree it isn't the same as actually being there... but it helps
Hi all - I am going wo weigh in on the Obama/Paris issue. I think Biden should have gone because there wasn't enough time to do the Secret Service thing for Obama. Obama did go to the French embassy in Washington and wrote a very heartfelt condolence in their book.
hey ya dianne. nice to hear from you.
hi Dianne :) That works for me. I think the main thing is the standpoint... how and where they express it, is less important to me.
Hi rose, sprite and ruby
hi all, just got here myself, too - and I for one think it would have been too dangerous for him to go, or any world leaders, for that matter - too perfect a setup for an attack by terrorists.
Sprite: about the mealy-mouthed too-late "announcement" NUTS. Granny: Senate President represented you. NO ONE from the US, including the high ranking officials present in Paris at the time, represented the US.
hi rbud :) Yeah, for sure.
jwr - Eric Holder was in Paris and addressed the Public.
nuts? Grin. Yeah, that would be me.
kind of like Number One on the Star Trek shows, constantly telling the captain "you can't do this, too dangerous" - can't have the high mucky-mucks taking those kinds of chances, haha!
lolllll right!
And "safety" was not an issue. They all new the photo was a "photo-op" made to appear as if they led the march but in truth was on an empty street, well guarded. Dianne: Holder was NOT at the march, he was just doing his job by attending an earler meeting regarding security for it.
knew
just being there would have been dangerous, in itself, I think.
what a sham, then. No real point to any of them being there at all - as they weren't really "there"
jwr, i am thinking it was perhaps our foreign minister....but so much more impact if it had been our prime minister. still....i am glad we were represented.
good heavens...DH has just told me all the orthodox leaders removed any females from any mention of the 'march', including the queen of jordan.
back later
np's sprite. this is too much, i agree.
No, rbud. Not a sham. Their appearance and unified arm-in-arm (including erstwhile "enemies") was the message and the message was the all-important thing. .. Granny: sorry if I got it wrong; but a foreign minister's presence on what will be considered a major historic occasion and validation for defending free speech is something to be very proud of. And that's the end of my rant.
jwr, xoxox from me dear
Granny: I lied. Back again. The Israeli paper photoshopped all the women world leaders. Apparently, they may not show (or have) women touching men who are not close relatives. Same with the airlines having trouble with orthodox Jewish men on the planes who refuse to sit next to females.
And xoxox back to you. with a kiss on the cheek.
*grin* thanx jwr. most appreciated.
grand. now I must go back to the grid -- Babble is wonderful for reducing blood pressure (so long as you're not trying for the last word just as the clock winds down!)
lol....too true. please feel free to yell if you need a hand.
well, on to a totally different subject, lol - just got back from bailing son's gf out of jail, she missed court a couple days ago and got grabbed for a warrant on her way home from work at 2 AM. What fun.
poor thing was scared to pieces, had never been in trouble before, really. it was a traffic court thing.
for goodness sake rbud...
the fun never stops around here, lol! :P
meanwhile, our normally more troublesome son has been clean and sober for over a month, it's been nice and peaceful.
how old is she, rbud?
Only 20 years old.
poor kid. nice to know you are behind her.
she works nights, barely knows what day it is most of the time.
as i said...poor kid...
rbud, you are one in a million...god bless you.
she's a sweet kid, but kind of new at adulthood and responsibility. they had rented a place, but he couldn't find work, and she got behind paying everything herself, and now they're back here.
thanks, I try...
bless them....i hope they find their way...
me, too, but there sure seems to be a lot of this sort of thing going on - kids just can't afford to be on their own these days. Our daughter lives here, too. Quite the houseful.
surely the justice system makes allowances for misguided decisions made by new adults.
oh, they just gave her a new court date, took the money for bail, and let her right out. she was upset about being searched, lol - our son told her it could have been a much more thorough search, she was lucky.
rbud...i have to admit...i cannot allow anyone of my kids and step-kids want for anything.
rents for places are outrageous, when I think of how we were told in school that our rent and utilities, etc, should only be 1/4 of our monthly income - these kids were spending more like half theirs for a crummy little place.
back. Omg rbud, how awful. And how lucky they have you.
*giggle* my middle son married the girl of his dreams...she already had two kids of her own, from 2 different fathers. then they went on to have 3 more. effectually i have 5 grandkiddies from that family..
i would like to love them all. but lucinda encourages standoffishness from the first two....just how do i break through this?
you just love them all and ignore her instructions.
sometimes it's hard, I'm sure. we have no grandkids of our own, just the two boys that come and stay sometimes with us - sons of our daughter's boyfriend of 9 years. we actually feel a tiny bit put-upon when they come, as it's usually for a month or two in the summer, and they eat like young horses, lol - and we get them for weeks at a time over holidays.
seems their mom never spends a holiday with them!
can't she contribute to the grocery fund?
ha! she feels it's Dad's problem.
oh right, of course. Can't he contribute then?
the oldest steals everything not nailed down - I might have mentioned it before.
omg that is horrible. How about saying no to having them stay? Are your son and she separated?
he does, but he's not too well off himself. barely makes minimum wage, and it goes for child support, which I'm sure mostly lines her pockets, not for them.
ah, what a world.
you have a tough load to carry, rbud. Wish I could more than hold you in my thoughts and prayers.
it's our daughter's boyfriend's kids, not ours at all, really, but like grannyrose, I try to treat them like family.
just tell me when I am out of line here, rbud... but it seems to me like your loving heart overshadows your ability to set limits. It wouldn't hurt to stand up for yourself a little more, I think.
I feel sorry for the boys, really - they were much better off living here in this small town with their dad than they are up in Chicago with their mom. I feel like they deserve a break from her and the big city, so we don't object.
I rest my case :) *hugs* Bless your good heart.
one of them is well-behaved and quiet, the other is always bored and in trouble. so it goes. :P
just like our two, more or less, lol!
lol :) Maybe you can think up some good challenges for the bored one. With rewards.
*yawn* almost bedtime gere
ugh...here
careful with that yawn, sweetie, I could see what you had for breakfast.
lol!!!
*col* you can??
yeah. I hope it was today's and not yesterday's.
*giggle* i really need to go to bed. xoxox my dearest friend, and rbud.
nighty night, sleep well! (((hugs)))
sweet dreams, my dear rose *hugs*
*yawn* and to all good-night
Hello all.I have No 4/4 what is the stats fo the other N from the two Ns tile please?
no 6/21
Thank you, Rbud :-)
I just need that lower O for nbt - wouldn't have that one, would you?
OS 6/27
thanks! :)
Think of a bird.
aha! got it. whew!
Nice one!
Could you give a nudge on the NO 6word please. It has to be a not word but just being dumb today...lol
Sheesh..found it!
oh, good, sorry, was distracted by crocheting on the TV, lol
That is no problem, Rbud :-)
No definition for the word but when you google the word it has to do with banks and cheques.
what, not a golf term? hahaha
Good morning on another cold cold day
That is to be honest what I thought it was hahaha!
Hello, sukee :-)
I think it's supposed to warm up a bit here today, at least above freezing, which will be wonderful after the last week or so.
It is supposed to warm up here too.
maybe I can put the big dogs back outside, they've been toughing it out on our closed-in porch.
(they have no house manners, no matter how we try.)
Could they not have winter coats for dogs?
sure, but one of them would eat his, and maybe the other one's too. he's a chewer.
sorry, real life interfered here. Hi zooz! *hugs*
Oh lol not good then, Rbud!
Hello, Sprite *Hugs* back at you :-)
he's a case, likes to pull off the other dog's collar and chew it up. they help each other escape all the time, lol! :)
Thought I had missed you and Rose.
I tend to have a knack for missing people by a word or two..lol
Sounds like a smart dog then, Rbud..lol
wow, not easy dogs to manage, grin
I am normally here but tend to turn the chat off and dive into the grid. Once i have done the first round of looking I switch the chat back on..lol
they have cozy doghouses, but when it gets too cold I bring them into the porch, they have a couch and a little heater set low.
Aww you spoil them, Rbud..lol
the no6 def is: being a bank that has not agreed to pay all checks drawn on it at *** and so cannot join the *** clearance system of the Federal Reserve system *** being the 2nd half of the word.
But it is good that you are thinking of there welfare. As it does get very cold in the USA.
I love babbling while chatting. Or chatting while babbling.
Yeah i had to google the word to get the DEF, sprite.Same one you found by the sounds of it..lol
have to keep the heater very low, don't want them to lose their winter coats.
good morning everyone:)
good old Merriam webster :D
hiya crossy :) *hug*
morning, crossy!
Does it get a bit smelly in the porch though, Rbud?
Hello, Crossy :-)
Hi crossy
Hope that did not come across as being rude...just meant dogs when damp from outside and warmth normally means they get a bit smelly.
Changing the subject quickly..How is everyone doing?
sure, we do get that, but not too bad - and for the rest, it's concrete, and they're good boys about not "going" in there for the most part, thank goodness.
We had gales again last night.I am surprised my crappy house is still standing..lol
not been windy here at all the last couple of days, such a relief. it was bad for a few days.
Thought that might be the case, Rbud.My parents had big dogs..and when they got wet they were a bit pongy..loved them to bits though.Such sweet things.
very windy, and rainy with bouts of thunder and hail
Not much wind here today and has warmed up to minus 12c:) Might be a good day
Going up to -6 here today.... but Saturday is saying 0
they miss their "territories" outside. and absolutely can't eat together, sigh.
lol minus 12 is warmed up...good gosh man!
was minus 22 yesterday:))
Probably what we have been having then Sprite..yuck!
They do not call us "crazy Canuck's" for nothing, zooz:)
as I said, it's supposed to be at or near freezing today, nearly 30 degrees above what we've been seeing - a heat wave! :D
It is about 9c here, Crossy..Or to you a heatwave..lol
yay for heat waves, haha!
Must admit i love the heat.I get cold very very easily.
Me too.
but...but you live in Canada, Sukee!
Wasn't my choice :)
I am not a polar bear...well not quite, and I do like warm weather. However, anything over 80F, and I am a mess and heat rash from head to toe:)
it is around freezing point here. Rather nasty weather.
Ah but I bet it is a beautiful place to live, Sukee, Wonderful views!
Zooz, we are lucky to live here
Hurry up Spring...where re you..lol
I am certainly glad I live in Canada though, apart from winter
brb, the cat is demanding to be fed
i have seen many TV programs about Canada. And it is such a wonderfuly beautiful place.
Meow

Hi Une
On a side note, ISP's are evil personified. I feel like I have been fed on for years and now they are throwing out the dried out husk and moving onto the next victim:(
You have Rogers?
lol, guessed it right off:))
I have heard Canadians speak evil of Rogers, and when I go over the border and use my cell phone I get a message from Rogers about costs.
What they do not tell you in the fine pring is that if you fall into arrears with any portion of your service, be it cable, internet, or phone, even if they are on seperate billing, you must still pay all monthly totals for that service even though they are not providing it untill you get caught up
fine print
When there is a monoply on a service they have you buy the balls.
rogers makes your AT&T seem all warm and fuzzy
hey scrabs et al :-)
data caps, horrible cell packages
ugh
hi unea, crossy, lurkers
I have AT & T for my cell phone, Verizon for my landine, and TimeWarner for internet and cable TV. But I do not have digital or HD TV, thus do not spend what most do for TV.
We have exactly three: Rogers, bell Canada, and Sprint... the triad of evil
I got rid of cable 2 years ago, too much money
I am happy to have great cell coverage out here in the country after years of spotty or no coverage.
I am thinking of cancelling cable and doing internet streaming. I do not watch much TV.
once my cell phone contract is up we are getting pay as you go sim package. no kore contracts
I love internet streaming. you will not regret it, scrabby
I must get ready for work but I want to ask you more about that option sometime. Bye, Enjoy the day, kiddos.
The money I saved by cancelling cable tv, paid for a 51 inch HDTV in 6 months and pays for all my netflizx bills
tc scrabby
My 51 inch tv has onboard computer and wi-fi streaming capability, so I just stream my programs directly from my wi-fi box. Tis a great machine
you can actually plug a keyboard and a mouse into the back of it and I have played babble on it:))
Though in saying all of that, if you are a sports fan, then netflix/ hulu is not for you unless you pay independantly for some other internet sports channel
But my cable t.v was costing just over $100.00 a month , so it was a no-brainer
They say that talking to yourself is a sign of insanity...
lol- good morning crossy
Howdy, wolvie.. crossy was getting lonely:)
good morning dear friends. short babble today, so I will have to crank!
Howdy trif
:-) i have directv, and am thinking of getting a roku- good morning trif!
that way i could drop the movie channels and get all my streaming thru the roku
i have a so called smart tv but more stuff on the roku from what i can see- and it will still pick up my netflix and such
just keep directv for the sports and local channels. I hear HBO is going to roll out a service that is independent of cable/sat in time for GOT in april lol
Yes, i looked at the roku and other similar devices, but the tv i had was alread old, so I just upgraded to on with all of that already built-in
it all works :-)
I just could not justify paying 100+ a month for cable and I watch all of 5 channels on it
yeah- that is my problem too lol
was a case of 300 channels and nothing on. We had better tv in the 70's when we used a tv ariel and pulled in 3 channles
the shows were better then for the most part- that is certain :-0
ugh, I hate that "200 channels and nothing on" phenomenon. That's why I read
can never go wrong with a good book
yes- TG for libraries and such - we read a lot in this house as well
The mrs and I are big readers as well
I thing you will find that 99% of babblers are big readers
think
I must admit, I am having trouble communicating this to valentine. He is a tv addict....
lol trif- everything balances eventually
I am so not stealth - gave him some books for Christmas - HINT
Now, with Netflix, i watch what i want when i want and it is always there waiting for me. I can watch a single show or binge-watch an entire season. good stuff it is.
yeah- i love netflix and good job trif :-) did he he get you a small tv for the kitchen? :D
Though they are in negotiation with British broadcasting and we may lose Dr Who if they cannot agree within a month
lol, that would be funny; you get him books and he gets you a portable tv
:-)
hahah
Meet him half-way and buy him some audio books
he says his dream is to get a 70" tv for my living room. God help us all
lol- really big kindle :D
Mine is 51 inches and quite large enough
so far we have settled for 55 inches - i can see an upgrade coming tho :D
though, to be honest, as I am thinking it over....I do rather disappear when I am reading. At least with TV there is a social aspect - everyone in the room is experiencing the same thing at the same time
could I have a count for the bottom row e please? just not seeing anything
Pretty soon, people are going to have TVs the size of their living room walls.
yes- reading is great - as you can just share time and do what you each love- but if you can find a tv program that all can enjoy that is cool as well
pasoi
en 7/28 and 8/40 i believe
thank you wolvie.
there it is! Thanks - nbt
welcome :-)
oh hey - nbs too!
a twofer :-)
there I go again. sorry
Im only sorry it wasn't valid, grant. lol
morning Grant and molly
close but no luck
Morning all. Here's to the warming trend.
hi molly. and what trend is this you speak of? 20 degrees here today....
heres is how exciting my day has been so far - drag my tired self to work, and immediately get asked to stay behind by the dragon lady, who informs me how disappointed she is in me, for making "the same mistakes" after a year and a half, and not getting how things should be done. My crime? I helped a student put a piece of paper on a clipboard. I SHOULD KNOW that is something she should do independently. Sigh. 17 more days until she gets on her broom and flies away for the last time...spin, earth SPIN
have I ever been told not to help a student put papers on a clipboard? NO
oh man- describes a witch perfectly trif - sorry for you
she's just blowing smoke because she is so near retirement, but still....
yep- she mustbe pretty bitter about life i would say
I feel very sorry for her.
incipient Alzheimer's?
yesterday I was named co-chair of her retirement party at school. Know this: I am hiding dragons in the decorations. HUNDREDS of them.
lol
alas, no grant, she is just a raging bitch
she's this way to others?
yes.
45 left- must be off to the day- bbl and hagd all
bell is going to ring. Have a good day all - watch out for dragons!
It is amazing to me that "how" you say something makes all the difference. Should special needs students be encouraged to do things independently? Yes. Was there a better way to say that? Most definitely.
and supervisors should know the difference
I agree, Grant.
and speak accordingly
sa5, please?
bible speak
sorry grant I don't get the clue?

oh ye of little fa***
thanks got it

CAR!!!!!!
TRIF!
did you see my earlier post about the start of my day?
grrrrrrr
Fancy meeting you here. lol
No...
oh, it was CHARMING - called in to the dragon's den first thing, so she could tell me how disappointed she is with me that I have learned "nothing" in the year and a half I have been here, and keep "making the same mistakes." My crime? Helping my student clip a piece of paper on her clipboard. I SHOULD KNOW not to do such a thing! Have I ever been told not to help her? um....no.
Its my only day of the week to be fancy....
February 10th cannot come fast enough. SPIN EARTH SPIN
Poor Trif.
Desperate to continue to appear important, the dragon lashes out
If you ask me, she got wind of how well my student did yesterday, whilst the dragon was at her inservice meeting.
She is just lashing out because she didn't "break" you in the year and half she had the chance.
I don't care anymore. I feel sorry for her. What a bitch.
also, I am praying to god a certain young man I know isn't sitting on Route 93 right now....god help us all
Oh boy....
I don't think he is affiliated with Black Lives Matter

Yes, the chat is full of just about every clue you will need these days.
true enough Molly...
When I first started playing, it seemed like people played the game for the challenge of finding words on their own. Not so much anymore.
you can't generalise but it's true that clues abound...
one can always turn off the chatterbox ...
I wasn't trying to generalize, just making an observation. And yes, I mostly play with chat turned off until I'm finished.
FW! - gotta go - happy babblings Molly, pen and all lurkers - take care - poof
Hello Everyone. WOW! It must be either a quick grid or a grumpy crowd: 8 1/2 hrs. of chat visible right now
hi nef...
Hi pen. I was off checking my email...
i am also multi-tasking.....finished here earlier...
I'm not so much multi-tasking as much as flaky today.
I had a migraine this AM (first one in about 2-3 years); made a counter-offer on the condo we're selling; and also had to put down our dog today.
I'm so sorry to hear of that, Nef.
Nef, so sorry about your dog.
Putting down an old riend is never easy.
friend
He was 16; pretty much blind & deaf; and since the grandson moved out he's kept us up most of the nights. And started peeing & pooping in the carpet too (that's been going on for several months.
He lived a good life. One thing we can offer our fur babies is letting them go with dignity and not suffering.
We had him for 8 years; his previous owners were going to put him down back then because he was alone too much and becoming destructive. We took him and got him trained and he did very good for most of the extra 8 years.
Very true, Bzzn
We had to put down our Emelio just before Christmas. It was a hard decision to make, but knew it was time.
I know how you are suffering. Again, I'm so sorry.
Our grandson insisted on being there when we put him to sleep; I asked my son (his dad) to come along. My son took it harder than my grandson
Our daughter is a vet tech at the clinic we use. She put the cath in Em because she didn't trust any of the other techs to do it. Was very tough on her.
Thank you. I'm already missing the sporadic barking he did; my DH is pretty insistent that there will not be another dog (he says)
Oh wow. I can imagine that was hard on her! How old was he?
We still have our Emma, but there will be another at our house when the time is right.
Hi Nef. Just a full week and here in the great Northwest we are sorry to hear of your tough decision for your dog. Never a good time.
He was twelvish. Not sure as he was a rescue. We had been treating him or cardiomyopathy for three or four years.
what kind of dogs are they Bzzn?
Hi stidg. Thanks
He was a boxer. Our Emma is a boxer mix.
Was yours a lab?
J.C. was a Schiz-poo (or however that's spelled). The previous owners (DH's cousins wife) named him after her 1st 2 grandsons (Jovan and Conner). He was all of 11 lbs; but he had a huge heart. Any child that came around was "His" kid; it was pretty funny to see him push adults away from babies
And he thought he could take down any lab or retriever around!
We say that all our grandkids are so smart because we let Em lick them on the head when they were babies. He loved his babies.
He weighed 75 lbs, but was a kitten around those babies.
The first time they brought our grandson over (he was probably a week old; we spread a baby blanket on the floor and J.C. just wezzled his way between the baby & us. He'd lay there next to that baby all day if he could!
weazled (sp ?)
Yes, we always said Em could not hold his licker around a baby. =)
And wherever Ronnie was, there was J.C. So Ronnie insisted on being there when he died. Ronnie says that J.C. is with Aunt Jean now; watching over us.
Have you ever seen the poem "The Rainbow Bridge"?
But it was time; J.C. probably had some arthritis or other joint pain; sometimes he whined in his sleep and we couldn't pick him up if he was asleep.
Hi Bea, The Rainbow Bridge is mentioned here often.
It always makes me cry, but helps me remember all the pets we sent there are n a better place.
This seems to be a place highly populated by pet lovers. Lots of pet icons, chat, etc.
Yes. As a matter of fact; on Sunday Ronnie & I were coloring and our drawing became a rainbow. Ronnie drew what he first called a cloud and then changed it to J.C. (he said) "crossing the Rainbow Bridge"
I don't think I have ever been without a pet in my entire life.
We are now down to just Ashes; Aunt Jean's cat that lived through the fire (and she was named Ashes when she was born; the fire was 4 years ago)
When Larry and I got married, we had ive cats and a dog.
oh my! That's a lot of cats!
One of the dogs we adopted did not like cats, so we didn't gan any more cats after they left us. Now that he is gone, we have four cats.
Inside cats. I am a caretaker of 12- 15 community cats or eral cats.
Yes, I am quickly becoming known as the Crazy Cat Lady of the neighborhood.
Our son has a long hair cat; and they took it with them; now the dog is gone; I think that Ashes is going to be lonely
LOL! That's what we call my step-mother!
Bea, I think there are several crazy cat ladies here. : D
I don't mind it, Molly. Someone has to take care of them.
It is time to do another trap and spay/neuter, but it seems like we can never get those that need the spaying.
Does your area have a program to spay feral cats, Bzzn?
I see you do...
It still costs us $50 per cat.
Wow (then again, I don't know what it costs here. We don't have any ferals in this neighborhood -- raccoons, fox, deer, turkeys, etc. but no cats)
That's a lot of money for all those cats.
Has anyone a clue for the re 6, 24? The re words are almost done but for that.
Do any of the other neighbors help with the cost?
re +most of the black & white bear
ty, nef. Fireworks for me!
Just thought I had monkeyed all of the nearby letters and didn't think to try the last letter for the re 6!
YAY, stidg!!! WTG!!!
!!!!!!!
Well, I must start our supper and peel some potatoes for that. Best wishes for your evenings!!
No, I am the only one that cares for them.
Wow, you are really devoted Bea. That is a lot of money to spend.
Can you work out a deal with your vet? (Do you live near a vet. med school so students could help?)
Not to mention all the $$ for food.
Have a good evening sting! Take care!
stidg.
We take them to a vet van that does low cost spay/neuter and that is $50 for spay/neuter, vacs, microchip, ear crop and tattoo.
Wow. If they do that much; then that is a good deal! (But like you say, it adds up!)
It is a good deal. We try to do four cats a quarter.
Why do they microchip and tattoo them?
They tattoo them and crop their ears so we/animal control/vets know they have been s/n.
Same way with the microchips. They know which colony to return them to if they should get misplaced.
Mine never seem to get misplaced though. =)
I knew about the ear crop to show they've been spayed or neutered; I didn't know about the tattoo or microchips though
(too bad they don't get rescued either…)
Right now, our back porch is filled with "Kitty Condos". I have styrofoam coolers filled with straw for them to sleep in during the cold weather.
These are truly feral cats, Nef. They do not want to be touched and they are really hard to catch.
LOL! Years & years ago my Dad had made a box that was probably 4 by 5 ft. and divided it up to hold 12 compartments (each with a little flap) for a kitty condo for my step-mother. It was out on their back porch; all of the flaps could be tucked away during the nice weather
My son's cat was feral; he rescued him when he was a small kitten and it was winter. He'd seen him one night and caught him the next; poor thing was starving and the temp was 20 below (F). It took a long time for that kitten to calm down and be friendly
Evenb though they do not want me to tocuh them, they sure do come running when I step out on the porch in the morning. I once thought it was because they were looking to be fed. But now I realize they are just looking for me to say hello to them.
Awwww. :-)
Yes, the our that we have in the house were from feral moms.
I grabbed up one litter when they were old enough to eat and poop without mom. Hubs sister took two and we still have the other three.
The fourth house cat had to be rescued from the walls o our house. Had to remove siding to get him out.
We think that either his mother was killed or she didn't abandoned him
How did he get in there?
My F is not working!
I noticed. :-) Sometimes I have trouble with my space bar or the bottom row of letter; but it's due to my thumbs not working; not the keyboard
We live in an old house that we are rehabbing. His mother had him in the eaves of the porch and once he got old enough to move around, he fell between the inside and outside walls.
(Did you try blowing out dust or crumbs yet?)
We named him Walled In. (Walden).
oh, My!
It's a good thing you found him then!
Yes, it is time for a good keyboard cleaning.
I think everyone's needs that every so often
anyone here?
I am. How are you today?
good thanks how about you
I'm ok. Just running out of words. to see now
just listed
I have 60 words left; I suppose I should list too if I want to finish
you can do it
LOL; I know. I always like to get more than half way before I list; and the longer I can go without listing the better I like it
hello, all.
