Ah..good
It was warm enough here today, we flew a kite after dinner. So cool!
Raining here today
wow, isn't that unusual for you?
Not really.
If you're there, ARB thanks for the me 7 clue
We have been having summer-like weather thoigh
Sounds lovely, Dee
nice.. I am sure ready for spring. We actually were able to sit outside this afternoon, too... so thankful winter is behind us :)
So if anyone tells you yo go fly a kite dee..you have an answer
Summer's come back for us this week!
But I hope winter stays away for you.
LOL... hubby, daughter and son-in-law even rescued a neighbor kid's kite out of a tree. That was the funniest of all.
I think winter will be gone until next November, Liz. We are in the home stretch for spring and then summer FINALLY.
Heros! Well, to that kid, anyway.
You sure the kid wasn't stringing them along?
Holding back a groan ...
LOL good one, ru
Got wind in your sails liz?
I'll have to take time to digest that one.

WTG GRAN!!!!
good morning all :)
you still up, rose? Coooooeeeee!
{{hugs}} my dearest. * grin *
allo? cookies
*hugs rose* Lovely to see you, my friend.
aha....ruby...my darling xoxoxox
allo allo, ruby. How are you, and how is Burt?
now where is liz?
It is nearly 11:30 and I've survived 8 flights of stairs! B.is impossible.
and pugs?? i wanna see pugs too!!
and our pugs :) Not often that we have the whole clan together, alas.
*rolls eyes* snap sprite....AGAIN!!
When I tell him to do (or not do) something, he looks at me with hatred
*giggles* Sis of my soul.
oh sweetie... it is an impossible situation. Have you looked into institutionalising him at all yet?
darling, it isn't hatred. it's confusion. he really doesn't understand why you are placing these limits on his activities. * hugs ruby and covers her with kisses *
His daughter is coming on the 20th. I think he would die n a retirement place with his lack of communication skills
yeah as rose said. Confusion, and he is scared, he is out of control and that frightens him terribly. But it is impossible on you, ruby. Way and way too taxing for you.
ruby, he won't die. you would be surprised how adaptable mo4 nurses are.
but nobody here speaks English and, even if they did, it wouldn't be loud enough
i know whenever we had to nurse someone whose first language wasn't our language we would ask the relatives to give us a list of phrases so that we could communicate with the patient.
yeah well, let's face it, ruby, and forgive me for being blunt. But he is in the last few years of his life. If you keep him at home, he will die at home... with you worn down to nothing and him not getting the care he should. And if you have him institutionalised, yes, it will be hard on him. But you can visit often. And he will have kind people around him to care for him, 24/7.
POUNCE
we also use "flash" cards. printed in capitals which the patient can read.
hehehe hi lady :) *hug*
yay!
whoot, another one has arrived. g'day herin
wait and see what his daughter has to say and when the visiting nurse finally finishes (one of his incisions still has not closed!)
Hi. I only know 1 Asian saying. One
yeah, I think it is something to talk over with his daughter. And don't be afraid to tell her you can't do it anymore.
ruby, love, you have to be strong and stand your ground. you are not physically able to care for him. and his daughter has to acknowledge this.
or what rose says :)
one Asian saying, lady? Let's hear it.
* giggle * or what sprite says.... * sigh *
*grins*
in future i will open my mouth and sprite can say what i am thinking...saves some time surely.
xiexie it means thank you in Chinese. I use it all the time in Springvale. It sounds likE Shay SHay
Ruby you have to do what is best for you and yours
careful sweetie, close it before you catch a fly in that mouth...
nice, lady :)
* gulp * hope that fly was sterilised...
you know, as well as I do, ruby, that you cannot give Burt the care he needs now. It is simply too much. Even if you didn't have so much pain on the chest. You cannot be there for him 24/7. You have to have some YOU-time and you are not getting it anymore.
where'd our ruby go??
xiexie to all
I made the 7 11 ladies day when I said this at Christmas.
our ruby is wrestling with her conscience. She knows Burt will hate an institution. But she also knows there is no other way left.
herin, will try to remember it. i hope i say it to the correct nationality.
awwww sweet, lady.
I have the extra lady who comes in to shower and dress him 3 times a week and gives hi lunch and letts me get out of the house for an hour, even if it's only to go to the market
That's a big improvement!
yes, dear ruby it is an improvement. but you really deserve much more.
only to the chinese, rose, lol. To the japanese, you say aringato gozaimasu.
I just say it as habit in Springvale.
(the first half was easy) now I have to go and see to himself, because today is a big holiday here
Ruby sounds like you need some TLC yourself
sprite, not even going to try that one. i think my plate would fall out of my mouth.
yes, that helps, ruby. But it is not enough. You know you feel resentment every time Burt makes you walk the stairs and does not accept your care. And that is because it is too much for you. Feeling resentment is a sign that you are way, way overtaxed.
My chest pain is down to a 5 (with meds), so that's a big improvement, too
It is wonderful to have you all here and caring!
See you later
*hugs ruby* Take care of yourself, dear friend
how could we not care, dear ruby? you are our friend.
RUBY you take care of yourself that is an order.
we desperately need a Scottie to beam us over.
too true sprite. i would soon sort it all out.
pant pant pant. 2 more flights and he was asleep
I'll be ready for the Tour de France!
egad, ruby. good in one way, bad in another.
poor ruby. Well, take your rest while he is asleep.
so true, rose. You would have it arranged in no time. It so helps if you know the lingo and standards.
I'd rather play with my friends
I have submitted my assignment
sprite, let me at 'em. * arms flailing wildly*
Ruby you want to see my new hair do to chair you up
herin...which assignment is this one?
wtg lady! You stuck with it!
purple and spiky???
The first communication and learning one
NOpe Ruby -http://tinyurl.com/ng7ga42 cheesy grin from me to you
I have to do sociology but it is like Charlie Brown when the teacher talks to him - blah blah blah
lady, could you pls e-mail me that tinyurl?
I like it, lady! Looks good on you. And awwww how sweet, junglebook art.
oh dear herin...not a good sign honey.
You should just be able to hilight and go
Well the first 4 weeks are theory and it is soooooo boring
herin, i know the theory is boring. but it is the basis for your practical\. hang in there honey.
I am up to speed on Gender. The Culture and Society was so utterly wrong
himself has just crawled into bed with a migraine. he has an airline eye-shade on so that the light doesn't keep him awake or hurt his eyes.
aw poor man
Rose my friend swears by Himalayan pink salt to cure it.
it's his own fault. he worked out in the dusty garage without taking an antihistamine.
as they say here, own fault hurts the most
nasty hiccup
thanx herin
lol rose... it is predictable, at least? And it sorts out the rankings and all. For those who follow them.
Time to get the real sudafed
My friend did the hair himself as he is a hairdresser. Took about 5 hours to do. Made the colour himself
nice herin, as i said the other day.
I am not a fan of this daylight savings
neither is our canary....
amen to that, lady. Let's not do it anymore. No reason for it anyway. Only upsetting our natural rhythms for nothing.
It is now cold and dark
and there is an artic chill blowing in
poor manary.
manary is covered. the curtains are drawn. i am thinking it should be okay.
I see a very clear link between Don and the manary. Under covers. Curtains drawn. Eyes blinded. Out for the night.
Rose and the Astor is now gone in its current form. I am said
sad
sad isn't it, sprite
oh herin...that is so sad...
you think the manary has a migraine too?
Sprite how amazing is this place - http://www.astortheatre.net.au/
oh, dear, sprite. lolol... no i don't think so. it's strange. he was not at all fazed that i was covering him.
looks good. It says under Save the Astor that they will reopen in June.
Not in its current form
going to get meds ready. xoxox
ok rose :)
which makes me sad as the businessman that bought it promised the current leaseholder that he would stay. he lied
nope, alas, change is inevitable.
wow that M was hard to grey out. The top one. Finally.
George talk over in 1982. I loved its vibe and hope they don't kill that off

And now it is time for Crossy's tidbit of the day!! Love to travel to experience local cuisine? Well, you better check that menu twice while visiting parts of china because you may just see boiled urine eggs on the menu!!...
You thought eating bugs or dogs was weird? Try a “sophisticated†version of boiled eggs: urine eggs, which are boiled for an entire day in the urine of boys under the age of 10. Locals believe they have myriad benefits, such as increasing circulation of the blood. And it’s such a stalwart, the tradition was recognized as local intangible cultural heritage in 2008. That still doesn't make it any less gross.
me6/24, please?
just dozed off for a bit!! does anyone have a clue for the second me7 please
sounds like one who gets a me5/14 for the me6
Flosey, the me7 is like the wood used to smoke meat

2nd column O?
Bit of an update for something I posted yesterday. A babbler was casting about for her next good read, and I suggested that if she is into Sci-Fi, to check out "Old Man's War" written by John Scalzi. I still stand by this as it is one of the most interesting new Sci-Fi stories that I have come across in a very long time. However, I must give warning before you dive into it that this novel has evolved into a 6 book series as follows: #2: Ghost Brigade, #3 The Last Colony, #4 Zoe's Tale, #5 The Human Division, and pending sometime in 2015 is #6 entitled The End Of All Things. Enjoy!
O...most of Mr Simpson
which simpson?
Doh!
The cartoon one. I think OJ has finally faded into obscurity
I know I meant which character version and I knew it wasn't Jessica either lol
he can just keep on fading...
still not getting it

He even thanked himself..Teehee!

That is a bonus peri addition:)
lol
is the fa7 a continuance of the fa5 before it?
I have a dental appt today:( Is the worst time for one too. Everyone is pissy at being back to work after a nice long weekend and they are most likely still hung over;(
good morning, 71 to go
Not really Marc. Same first three letters. Ends in female spy Hari
FA 7??
good morning harpjane?
I assumed he meant fe7 Zoom
Ahh thanks!
Hello, Harpjane :-)
Not good then, Crossy..Here it is a bank holiday.
Well, we all know the banking industry deserves special treatment.... not
It's a holiday here too Zoom. With Passover and Easter falling on the same weekend, lots of people are traveling.
lol yeah right!
They have to take the day after Easter off to avoid a repeat of that awful day when Jesus chased them out of the temple?
(apologizes for the poor taste....)
Yes it is manic here on the island today, Molly. The traffic is terrible!
remember when they had us by the short and curlies before the advent of bank cards and such? Open at 10 am and close at 4 pm --an hour before you got off of work:)
Instead they just charge you high interest on your credit cards.Good job I always pay mine before any interest is added.
In the sixties my mom worked at a bank. They stayed open "late" on Fridays...until 6:00 p.m.
There was an advert on the TV the other day for short term loans..the interest was over 17,000%...these companies should be made not to advertise these sort of loans on TV
Should not be allowed I was trying to say.
credit cards are the bane of mankind. Things should not be allowed to exist:(
fe7 still cannot find it. Do you have the stats for the last 4 letters, please?
Fe7 is a musical hold
thanks got it
Zooz, our banks charge on average 19% for the privilege of using Visa or Mastercard;(
last 4 are the first name of the celebrated female spy
YW
It is between 22%-38% here, Crossy.
Congrats, Java!
ouch!
thanks, zoom, but I was saying "yw", not "fw". I'll take it as a sign of things to come - grin
de6/24?
LOL Sorry, Java..My bad..But now you have to finish!!
D+ the rock we live on, Harpjane.
Oh, the stress!
LOL
DE 6/24 D + the rock we live on.

Hello, Nan :-)

Whoops. I don't have that one.
still looking for the me 7/40
It's a Hebrew/Biblical word for teacher
iths
found it!...me + rendered unable to walk properly
*!* ta da *!*
hint for the day...let Mr. Gore tag along on most things
hagd everyone
Howdy, y'all!
hi judi
Kinda quiet in here today. Another sticky grid.
notice how there are hardly any consonants that can combine to begin a word?
Yes, unfortunately.
I have an sq and an str.
Judi, that guy in your line up looks suspicious
Indeed. Sings: * one of these things is not like the ohter *
One of these things just doesn't belong
Let's put them all in the microwave and see who talks first.
*calls peta*
*Listens for the sound of people dialing the ASPCA*
wouldn't that be aspcc?
Oh wow, suddenly it's Yellow overload
Bwa ha ha ha! *bites ears off of choco bunnies*
"you have reached the ASPCC.. please leave a message after the cluck"
Soon it will be time for all the sad stories of idiot parents who bought their kids chicks and bunnies for Easter and how those animals are being neglected.
*builds additions at scrabbler's house*
And shame on the people who sell those animals for just that reason.
Well, to be fair, not everyone can afford a bedroom for every bunny
just doctors
I wish I had a bunny room
:D
Different bunnies, WAY different
I'm younger than hefner
Ha! Dream on, Hef.
about as smart though molly
Just remember, those women are all sloppy seconds.
the silicon is just like new though?
And the guys go-to wardrobe is a bathrobe. I think he's really dead, and they just prop him up for photos like Weekend at Bernies.
He's so old his first condom was made out of tree bark
You live in the silicone kingdom Ru. Unlike other fake stories here, I'm sure you could bounce a coin off of any projectile part.
In the event of an emergency, your playboy bunny will also serve as a flotation device.
I actually live far north of the silicone kingdom
amen to that judi
it's kind of like an adult game of bobbin' for apples
me7 please? The first one...
Clever innuendo time again I see. Well, I am off for a bit anyways. Chores await. Take care all, and happy babbling!
I have me7/44 - type of charcoal.
that's the second one
It's actually a desert tree/shrub.
me7,40 please?
me 8 is a Hebrew teacher
Oy vey.
(looks for clever innuendo ...)
A clue will suffice.
me + crippled
Ty.
<---cluing savant
You are the Rainman of Babble, Ru.
so.. Molly .. you have started people to start stifling their groans though.. I had some great ones last night and not one groan in the bunch
<---I'm an excellent driver!
K-Mart sucks, Ray.
Tom Cruise's best movie..
Oh.. that Scientology movie doesn't make him look too good .. very creepy
Speaking of TC, did anyone watch the recent documentary on Scientology?
Those folks are sooooo screwed up.
no kidding.. I can't believe they steal that much money from people. I'm not clear on how ..
Sounded like they rely on donations from members. They sure have the IRS snowed. Sure looks like organized crime to me.
I think the IRS is investigating removing their tax exempt status.. Did you see how many billions the church has.. with like 50,000 members only?
I think many "churches" are organized crime
I saw about 2/3 of it to the end. Insidious and shady to say the least.
yes.. very cult-y
I hope Katie Holmes writes a tell-all book. Can't always believe the press, but it looked like she fled for her life from that marriage.
I always thought Tom Cruise was gay?
Geesh. Who knows? No smoking gun pictures there. Tabloid free-for-all on him, so best to believe none of it.
hmmm.. too many rumors out there I guess.
I think in Hollywood.. if you're that handsome.. you're branded as gay :D
More rumors than truth.
probably.. at least there aren't any gerbil stories
Especially if you join a culty religion.
what about Travolta's lover's story? with photos?
<starts new web-site RUMZ
Haven't seen any pics of Travolta with a boyfriend either. These folks take so many pics with anyone and everyone. Anyone can photoshop anything.
I think most celebrities live in a complete alternate reality to begin with. Scarey, sad and amusing all at the same time to us regular schlubs.
I would hate to live like that
truly
On that note, I shall go fetch another cup of coffe and do some laundry. It doesn't get anymore schlubby than that!
schlubb on judi
*POOF*
Yeah Ru, I take the blame for everything here. If you are not getting enough groans, I'm sure it's my fault. I also kidnapped the Lindbergh baby and was the shooter in the grassy knoll.
I KNEW it
I can also tell you the whereabouts of Jimmy Hoffa's corpse. But that will cost you.
did you have anything to do with the Titanic?
Sssshhh
*pictures molly on end of the boat* "I'm QUEEN of the world !!!!"
:D
I made sure I saved all the Irish though. They are presently working on giving Ireland back to the Irish.
work on the electorate in Scotland too while you're at it.
And if you are going to refer to me as Queen, you are going to have to pay for another membership and learn to write bad poetry. : P
oh ha!
<---needs a sunset photo too
And make sure you post a random word in the chat, just so people will read your profile.
oh.. sure
Y'all know that Scientology is the result of a bar bet, right?
no.. I didn't know that
I really don't know much at all about Scientology
According to some stories, Hubbard bet some buddies that he could start a religion. The following website has some interesting "facts"; it's hard to separate fact from fiction, but there's enough of it circulating that the whole religion is suspect. http://www.xenu.net/archive/infopack/8\n.htm
I'll read this later.. thanks a lot..
Scientology is just a joke. They also reworked their creation myth when people decided they didn't believe it
I mean, who wouldn't believe flying DC10s into volcanoes in Hawaii?
Try this instead: http://preview.tinyurl.com/6ms3o8
Xenu, according to Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, the dictator of the "Galactic Confederacy" who 75 million years ago brought billions of his people to Earth in a DC-8-like spacecraft, stacked them around volcanoes, and killed them with hydrogen bombs. Official Scientology scriptures hold that the thetans (immortal spirits) of these aliens adhere to humans, causing spiritual harm.
wow.. how do intelligent people believe this stuff
The Church of Scientology forbade individuals from reading the OT III Xenu cosmogony without first having taken prerequisite courses.[35] Scientologists warn that reading the Xenu story without proper authorization could cause pneumonia
giggle
We have a scientologist sculptor in Teignmouth. He makes these humungous statues, usually of mermaids, and then tries to foist them on the town.
that's nothing to sneeze at :D
how ... um ... nice!
When I say huge, they are taller than the rest of the town with the possible exception of the lighthouse.
wow
is the fish part in scale?

Yes, Ru

Bye, Ru

It is time for our evening meal so I must away. Nothing exciting, leftovers from yesterday's roast and sweet potato chips. Bye, Ata. Devon is all sunlit and warm today as spring has sprung. Lovely, indeed

Non public school had nothing to do with Ms. Hari. And she is somewhat famous in books and stories
and history!
no, i meant we didn't really learn all that mich history in school. we learned American history from 1775 to 1789 over and over again. World War 1? forget it.

*hate
lol, Better than not finding that last word;)
can't believe it's snowing out....
And sometimes, finding that last word never happens. Pen, I'm sorry you have snow. You live in the land of eternal winter.
yes, in maine we have two seasons....winter and the fourth of july....
here we have winter and construction
They fight to get all the road damage fixed before the next winter:/
-5 at my house in Maine this am and snowing for the past three hours!
hi fuzzy.....where are you?
Jackman
i worked in the schools there for 21 years....
used to stay in Bishop's motel on my trips there....
Your'e kidding! I have worked at Forest Hills for the past 14 years.
ah....i left in 2002.....so we must have overlapped....i did evals....worked a lot with Yvette....
i did evaluations and consultations.....went up there for two days about 6 times a year....
That is who I work with!
I am sure we did cross paths back then.
well say hi to Yvette for me....she will know who i am.... ;o)
i liked working there, but i did not like the 85 mile trip from Dover-Foxcroft....
Now I can't wait to go to school and tell her. She will be surprised.
i am sure....
I took a break of six years while my son went to school in Carrabasset, worked at Kingfield Elementary, now back to Jackman. Are you still doing evals?
i met someone else here a few months back who worked a short time in special ed at Forest Hills while I was working there....don't recall her name....i think she works somewhere else in western maine now...
That was me.
i am retired but i do some (very little) contracted work, mainly for the Camden-Rockport district....
ah...i did not know you were back in Jackman...
was your son a skier?
Yes.
Do you ski as well?
no, not me....i just know that Carrabasset produces some top skiers....
Yes, we just hosted u.s. nationals last week, Sam Morse is a home grown Olympic hopeful did very well.
cool....
My pressure cooker alarm went off, time to finish dinner. I will say hi to Yvette for you.
do you know Zip?....i have seen her a few times around here at festivals....
great....bye!
Yes, she has retired and runs and bikes a lot.
Bye, Penquis, see you in the chog!
cool...
bye!
if there is anyone out there, could I get a clue for the al 6/21 please?
you are al**** there!.....
curves around the top left corner of the grid...
oh, what a fish, thank you...
Nearly. nancy
((soodle))
Hey (((Jax)))
yw....
Have you had a good Easter?
It was good. My kids were home - always a cause for celebration! My parents are struggling. Always a cause for concern.
If it isn't one it's another.
Sheesh! You said it, Jaxx! How was Easter for you & yours?
We have had a very quiet Easter. Just he and me. A neighbour brought me a bunch of flowers as a thank you for being a good neighbour. It included Jonquils, my very favourite spring flower. Such a heady scent
Oh, how lovely. I have a bunch of home grown daffs on the kitchen table as i Babble. Most of my weekend was spent visiting the aged pR
me7/44...clue, please
nvm I found it!
Are you expecting your swallows back soon?
Parents, because, tomorrow week, myself & Sarah jet off to Gran CanRia for a week of fun in the sun!
ThaT will give you a much needed rest and relax, soodle. unless you are planning on turning the Island red?
They usually appear towards the end of April.
Swallows, that is. Not elderly parents!
I have a friend who says you start life being looked after by parents. If you are lucky you have a few years of living dangerously and then you become parents and look after your kids. The kids grow up and leave home and you are just taking a big breath of relief and your parents become your children.
Got all my books lined up on my kindle. Got my itsy bitsy yellow polka dot bikini lined up. Got my sun-hat, my bucket & spade, my 12 pairs of sunglasses, my factor 50, my indigestion tablets, and my driving licence! I'm sorted!
Much as you love them you do start to dread going to see them. I have one elderly relation who is my aunt and godmother and is 92. What worries me is she lost her eldest child in March and she is devastated but her two daughters either don't see or won't see that she is not OK.
Oh! And the kitchen sink....
I won't ask what you intend to do with that.
It is past midnight here and I am not up to my usual form. I will be off to my bed. if I don't happen to bump into you again before you fly off to foreign climes then take care and don't do anything I wouldn't do. xx
Shuddering. My dear old Dad is a diamond. I love the bones of him. His legs don't-work anymore. My mother is a frail delicate 83 yr old. My dad needs a lot of one on one care which my Mam cant give him. Neither of them saw Dad in a nursing home & both are dissatisfied. Its hard.
PS. leave that sink behind as you will exceed your baggage allowance. lol
Ah,,,nitey nite, Jaxx, and thanks!

*looking around for the Borg*....8o|
Dammit, Lynn. I was just typing that clue!!

stop copying my clues Soodle
Too late. Storyof my life. 😰
Yes Lynn! But I introduced the Earl Grey bit. I like to think I injected a touch of culture.... (Ducking to avoid missiles Lynn might be firing at me!!!!)
Whenever I try to order tea out, they only ever offer Earl Grey or Englicsh Breakfast - both I dislike. Give me Irish Breakfast any day. Surely thats cultured
help with al7 pls

To quote an old farmer I was speaking to recently 'Ya can bate (beat) the wife. But yacan't ba
Huh?
...you can't wife a tea?
Ya can bate the wife, but ya cant bate a good cuppa tea. He was joking of course
how is irish breakfast different than english breakfast?i dislike earl grey.
This story may have bot lost in translation. Try saying it with a thick Irish brogue...
I love earl grey tea.
funny - about 50 years ago. Very non PC now. We are doing a HUGE thing on wife abuse/killing in Australia at the moment. You would think we were back in the 50s. No excuse.
Irish breakfast has some flavour'depth to it...English breakfast is very 'genteel'.
bbl
I don't think it was meant literally, Lynn. It was a play on words. Domestic violence is abhorred here as much as in any right minded country.
hello back for my last 23
I am sure he may not have meant it - probably something that was commonly said in his youth. There was an article in our paper about a visting comic's show (we are having the annual comic festival) - the female writer found it offensive that this young male comics show was about the humerous aspects of rape. (she did walk out). I do agree that even if they are only words that they cannot be tolerated.
When I was in Ireland, I couldn't get used to Irish Pudding. Basically, it's a complete protein.....
Bye all - time to start my day.

Good Evening All.

YAY, harpjane!!! WTG!!!
Hi Pinikula, how are you doing today?
drained from work, but now am home so things should start looking up (or settling down)
:-)
how about yourself?
feeling better now. Time for me to slow down & relax (& work on our taxes & figure out what we're doing wrong again!)
I did taxes for the last 3 days...I feel ya!
DH used TurboTax & his computer died in a lightning storm; we're hoping the new computer can retrieve his info; because (for some reason I can't figure out) he has $1000 less as income than what I came up with ; but we'd pay $14,000 more in taxes.
If he has an account on TT, then you should be ok...*crossing fingers*
tt saves data
He does; but (unfortunately) he had ALL of his passwords IN his computer! :-(
oops
And he has no idea what his TT account , etc. would be. (He has memory issues)
Perhaps he might be able to contact TT for assistance?
Good Idea. We will do that tomorrow. (My brain is dead after trying all day to work on this; he's pretty upset too. I figure some rest & relaxation and sleep should help
Definitely! You also might consider a tax preparer who files returns for free (like AARP)
they can retrieve pass word
and user log in id
I used to do our taxes by myself all of the time; but since he retired and found TT; he does it using that & then I go over it & fix any errors.
Then you guys have got it made...just give TT a call for login assistance :)
I figure that we'll get it done on time; and I'll probably have both TT and maybe have someone go over it again if there's still a big difference
Thanks! I'll do that tomorrow!
no call, request on line.
I will TO.
How are you doing these days TO?
i am all right. going to do state tax tonight.
LOL! SO I'm Not the slowest one here?!?
BTW, has anyone seen Minveryork lately? I haven't seen her for such a long time; I miss her.
hello friends. I have not seen Minveryork in a long time either Nef. I miss her cheeriness too
Hi Bugs. (My grandson & son just popped in, BBS).
Well, *that* didn't take long! He was picking up a box springs mattress for his bed; I guess I wasn't needed to help move it!
The 2 of them told me to go sit down & get out of the way as THEY would do it!
Good evening, everyone:) Figured i would try for a few more words before retiring for the night:)
It must grate to watch the little guy getting so grown up so soon. I feel for you.
waves to crossy
How are you this fine evening, Bugsaw?
Bugs, I miss having him living here; but at the same time; it's much less tiring. And he's going to be 6 next month!
Hi crossy
Howdy, nef:)
I am tired out crossy. We went to Vancouver for the weekend, saw lots of family and ate WAY too much good food. I was happy to be home to Babble and wind down. I hope you all had good holidays too, in whatever way you choose to celebrate.
We did. Had a quiet one at home with just my family. In years past we would gather all the family on this side of the pond together for a monstrous feast, but those are tiring affairs and the family has spread out quite a bit over the years.
OUr family is different in that my brother, sisters and I did not get together for the holidays while we were raising kids. It was just too difficult. Now the kids are grown, we are reconnecting and the cousins have more in common now they are adults too. It is fun
We only had the immediate family here (6 of us); but this was the first year Ever that I did All of the meal planning, cooking, clean-up; etc. DH wasn't up to it. (He broke a toe on his left foot 2 weeks ago & had carpel tunnel surgery on his right hand Thursday). it was just too much for him to be involved (& he wasn't able to do much in the kitchen; so I told him he had to stay out)
Poor DH! a double whammy.
Our rule was that at big feast the cooks never, ever had to clean up. was fair.
and poor you for having to do the whole thing. I hope the kids helped with dishes
But an injury will excuse you:)
I use that rule too crossy
On a big feast, i invariably use every dish and pot in the kitchen:)
That's usually how it works here too; but yesterday was kind of a fluke. The kids did help clear the table; but I told them to keep DH out of trouble (& they took that to heart - maybe too much!)
that is the Be careful what you wish for rule in action, Nef. ;)
Bet you are happy to be back in your own bed, Bugsaw. nothing like your comfy bed after a long trip
Very true, Bugs. I'll have to watch *how* I say things in the future I guess.
You are correct crossy. It was a nice hotel and we all stayed at the same one so we could visit, drink into the evening and have breakfast together the next day. One sister and her husband stayed and extra night with us too so it was lots of fun the whole time
(And I have to remember to chat in the Chat box, too!)
A late Crossy tidbit of the day. The Mrs and I watched a real interesting show on the Hebrides Island chain. One part dealing with the Corryvreckan whirlpool was fascinating. Look it up for a real interesting read my friends. it is the third largest of its kind on the planet:)
thanks crossy. NEver heard of it.
There are also videos on youbube of this whirlpool in action
You Tube
me either; but am Googling it now
Holy Cats! Why would anyone want to ride through that thing!?
You would spin like clothes in a washing machine!
yup!!!
The main attribution to this whirlpool seems to be a large underwater mount that start 70m below the surface and rises to just 20m below the waves. causing this phenominon
Boring to some, But I love the raw power of nature in its various extremes.
Phenomenon*
not boring to me; but I can't imagine why anyone would purposely want to go in a boat near that thing.
Ripple Rock off Campbelll River was sort of the same thing, I think, They blew up the rock because too many lives were lost. At the time it was one of the world's largest explosions. My father bought a TV just to view it!
You think when you see the water spinning like a stationary tornado, people would know not to swim there:/
agreed, crossy
It was the largest non-nuclear explosion in history -- 1958
Interesting. Now I have something to look up as well:))
The explosion is on You Tube if you want to check it out Crossy
I am done so off on a search for food. Happy Babbling
I'm already reading about it, Bugs. (That's what I love about this place: I learn so much from other people here! :-D
Bye, Bugs. HAG night!
I am checking out this explosion as we speak;)
Wow! That was something to see also! No wonder your Dad bought a TV, Bugs!
Something like that would not happen now. Think of the marine life that was vaporized by that blast!
Of course we just spill millions of barrels of oil in the seas instead
es6 pls?
es 6/18
Thanks, crossy

is that a clue , crosshair?
Is what true?

How are you doing today?
hi welk.
doing well, thanks :)
just about to leave.trying to file state tax, it is worse than the feds.
me6 sounds like someone who interferes with other people's business
turbo-tax automatically calculates our provincial tax for us
when i lived back east, we had to do ny and nj state taxes - the commuter's nightmare
Turbo-Tax will do our state taxes here too welki; but some states are more confusing than others I think
ty for that clue.
turbo tax will do it but it is free on state site.
Welki, what is your avatar? It's pretty, but I can't tell what it is
it's a photograph of rice terraces
Wow! Where?

Byt TO. HAG night!
Those pictures are really stunning, welki!

they really do.
A few are almost hypnotic to look at
...you are getting sleepy....when i snap my fingers,
LOL! :-D
going to sit with my guy - g'night nef :)
Niters, welki. (My DH is wrapped up inwatching some dumb TV "reality" show about bootleggers or something.
If I could get him to change the channel; I'd go sit with him too.
hello. Does anyone want clues?
(feeling useless....)
Don't feel hopeless, harp. I went & got my husband to watch something less dumb.
lol nef
It's amazing to me how so many "reality" shows are about uneducated or ignorant people doing dumb things these days.
I'm afraid that so many of these shows may give the world the wrong impression of the average American
howdy
I had to do a small piece on advertisements. i don't watch tv.
Hi herin. That must be difficult to do a paper on advertisements if you don't watch TV; (although I suppose the radio ads would work
Google is my friend
hi nef and herin
Hi
Or you know youtube
hi westford.
I agree nef those reality shows are not 'real'
how have you been herin..how are pandora and luciou
I actually can't stand TV and adverts
oops finger slipped..Lucius ?
THat's true, herin. (You know I'm an old fogey and can't always remember all these new-fangled things like The world wide web and youTube! ;-)
we love our DVR..skip right through the ads
Nef sometimes the old ways are the best ways
Herin are you back in school ?
Yes and no
I am studying online a Bachelor of Social Science Criminology
She's been doing papers & projects like a fiend these days, west
excellent !!
haven't seen you in so long herin nice to be on with you
you too nef
I still have to sociology. On of our Drs is hysterical. He is a really good speaker.
All done online
Nice to "see" you too, west!
online is still being 'in school'
West been busy and have the pc in the shop because it was broken for ages
nef are you still your grandson's best playmate? You are such a good grandma !
busy with things you like doing is a good thing
It really is (& it's so much nicer doing research online than back in my day! I will never forget the smell of those small stuffy medical libraries; I swear that they were full of musty, moldy books back then
I can remember going to the library and getting out the Encyclopedia Brittanica to do research
O those were the days. Sorting through the card catalogue for ages only to be annoyed a class mate beat you to the book.
West; my son & grandson moved out at Christmas. I miss having him here every day; but I get to see him usually once a week or more.
I find it really good that our library at the Uni has free pdf scanning on books so you do not have to waste paper
It's hard when the little ones leave. Our 2nd granddaughter and her mother lived with us for a few years and I think we are still closest to her..she's 26 now and expecting her first baby
That must be nice, herin
that's wonderful herin
Awww West.
The uni library is something insane like 6 stories
I'm going to be a great-grandmother in Sept. !!
I'm going to be a great-grandmother in Sept. !!
wow
west, he's going to be 6 next month! He still thinks I'm his best playmate; and he said the other day that I come up with the best experiments ever! ;-)
Yah West
Wow, West! I can't even imagine that!
how can he be almost 6 ? I remember when he was born
Crap the front windows may start leaking stupid rain
and I'm still so young and beautiful..
*adjusts Camera lens to slightly out of focus*
I think it's my eyesight ruru lol
:D.. thought so
that means that I'm buff and .. .er.. never mind
west, I'm just a couple of years younger than you; I can't imagine being a great grandmother myself!
I got an early start..our 50th anniversary is June 19th
I suppose I better get back to looking at these lectures
(kids get busy in west's family)
you're just a young chick, ruru (at least that's what your atavar says)
before you go herin how are the kitties ?
night herin
I'm a peeping Tom nef :d
White fat cat is hammocking on the bag of the chair and slowly turning my seat into half size. Luc is by the heater
Hello everyone
