yes -- all's good - everything shutting down, so not much going on. Youngest was coming for a visit and then a week with the family skiing, but the ski hill closed early for the season, oldest son works for apple and is a "no fly" person so working from home, and daughter's university has gone to online classes she is also working from home.
Yea, I was told "stay away from others that may be in the building"! Gonna grab some other things as well. Going to spend my down time doing the modules online for our Para certification and a couple webinars I signed up for. That should help cover, oh perhaps a week or so!

I did a little work around the house--cleaning, throwing things away, etc-- in prep for getting the rest of the stuff from mom's house that I have to take.
Exactly, nan - even places where it hasn't made itself really known are likely to see it soon enough. I am distraught over not being at school with my students, but I would rather they and their families be safe than satisfy my desire to see them.

Not to onerous -- it's just for our gated community of 100 homes and 6 people have volunteered to help.
With the asthma I have I have been struggling just to make it through the regular cold season, I dare not put myself "out and about" any more now. :-( But as long as they can, the boys and Tom will do those errands for me. :-)

All of the gyms in our state have closed, we're in a rather difficult situation, I fear. Some of my friends who really seem to need the exercise are a bit sad.
Like everywhere, the shops are chaos! On the news we heard that bus trips are being arranged from the cities to the smaller towns, where there is more in the store.

there is so much in4/7 floating around now - we have fingers crossed here - schools etc closed - no big gatherings - almost all sport cancelled - wash your hands - same as everybody

Here (Alberta), all in-person classes (including post-secondary) are cancelled, child-care facilities, libraries, recreation centres, concert halls, etc. are closed, and gatherings are supposed to be no more than 250 people or no more than 50 with vulnerable individuals present (older or unwell). Work is supposed to be done from home where possible, and everyone who has recently traveled, had contact with someone who has tested positive, or who has possible symptoms are supposed to self-isolate for 2 weeks. We're up to only 74 confirmed cases, but the number has been rising fairly rapidly in the past few days, and many of them are apparently due to community contact.
Restaurants and bars are still open, but I believe they are supposed to limit the number of customers to half of what they are licensed for.
It's amazing how quickly the numbers can rise without preventative measures. In Italy they went from just 3 confirmed cases to almost 30,000 in less than a month.

In Vancouver, they recently had a very well attended dental convention where some of the attendees have now tested positive, so now people are being advised to cancel all non-essential dental appointments.
(And attendees are supposed to self-isolate, of course.)

Actually, I see that dentists in California are also being asked to suspend non-essential service for 2 weeks.

Here in the UK everyone is being urged to avoid unnecessary social contact, to work from home where possible, and to stay away from pubs and restaurants. Drastic but necessary I guess and I hope it works - we are all in this together. Not comfortable to be over 80! Keep safe.

I think it was DCSeain here who told me he plays Lexulous so I tried finding him and starting a game but it didn't seem to work. But Lex is basically WWF. IIRC, Lex was first and was a Scrabble knockoff and then Scrabble shut them down and they came back as WWF, then at some point came back as Lex again.

You do not need clear weather to weed. I weed in the dead of NC winter. Just a bucket, gloves and 15 minutes with a patch of weeds. ou would be surprised what ou can accomplish.
Oh I don't like taking the male of the species to the grocery store. They are always throwing unneeded items in my cart.
