man, that was stressful
flip
flip! hetty! you did it!
wassup, I am sorry you didn't make it. you worked so hard....
I've decidedI wanto marry Stid
filp
helen, you and bendamalina ROCK!
awww, thanks stid. you also rock. and hard
how does one refresh ?
i didn't work as hard as you all with your clues!
Wassup, I wish you'd completed. Tomorrow, eh? And maybe we can share Stid again. LOL
hmmm....my refreshment wasn't so refreshing. i don't have a word list
there is a "refresh" icon at the top of most browsers
good morning everyone
77 words today... hello folks
morning ruthy
hetty, it's a deal
hetty -- only if my Tom and your hubby agree! ( I could just smell dinner cooking the last couple nights...)
77!!!!!!! woo hoo! i can do that
good morning ruthy, leslieann et al
wassssssssssup
okay wassup... *race you to the finish*
my sister's in the hospital, may have her baby tonight! :)
leslie! long time no see!
Wow... I've been home for 35 minutes and I missed the flip!
cool! I think -- is sueQ there?
knut, that's the life of a working mom
77....hmmm...i think Dr_God HAS been listening
she was due around now, wasn't she?
ahhh,, knuts!
she's probably waiting for a phone call. i am too, but keeping busy
did anyone else notice that, before you enter any words, the "last word entered" line says Let the games begin!
o man, i slept thru the flip!!!
well, I will keep my fingers crossed that all goes well.
she's actually not due until june 1st, but she has severe preeclampsia and has been on bedrest for 6 weeks. her blood pressure was way up, 190 ish so she was admitted a few hours ago. they'll induce if they cant get it down
hah, i didn't notice that stid...funny
You and me, mum, we're a pair tonight. I was totally zoned out, listening to see if LIv is waking up or not
jaianniah! I missed you today! feeling betterer?
ooh. well, at least nowadays there are options and they should both be fine either way.
so i finally got the first flip & couldn't get on the site to enjoy it
yeah, and the baby
bout the same, stiddie, it's going to take some time- but it is so good to be home!
sorry. and the baby is at 36 weeks now
i was having trouble too, helen
i am so glad you're home! do you have someone at home to help you (i hope so)
wass - just was reading back - hope she does ok
36 weeks isn't too bad. early, but not scarily so.
my hubbie until sunday- then I am on my own
leslie!!!! - did you get 'initialization error' messages?
well, we'll have to get you better then! *sending healing vibes via e-space*
no, her 1st was 31 weeks. that was scary. she was only 3 lbs. had to stay in the nicu for 25 days. not fun
i was induced at 36 weeks with my second child for the same thing
t y ty ty!!!!
i kept getting nothing on the screen and it just said "error"
how did that go kimber?
everything was perfect 7.4 lbs even
do you take comfrey or any of the other "mending" herbs -- or would they interfere with the meds you are on?
well, i'm glad we're here now :)
Matthew was in nicu for 14 days, but had the opposite problem -- born at 10 months and WAY too big for me!
being induced is horrible though
just in that the contractions hit you fast and furious
sometimes the small ones are harder
cool, both me and my baby's names (the shortened versions) can be found in todays grid
10 months?? why so long?
I hated it -- they did that for me with Matthew but didn't tell me... that was really mean of them.
puzzles, I mean. I've never been in labor!
lol jane
My midwife didn't believe me when I told her I was probably pregnant in February, and assumed I was due in December...
my son was born 9lbs 3 oz and he was at 38 weeks. the drs said i would have had a 10 pounder if he went 2 more weeks
he's still huge. looks 5, but he's 4
i had a 9.12 pounder at 40 weeks - one day
Matthew was 9.5 pounds. Grant (and I am absolutely certain when he was conceived LOL) was born at exactly 9 months and weighed 8.5
if they can't get her blood pressure down- it really is best for the baby to be born
yikes. i love big babies though
oooh kimberblue. that is too much!
the hard part is they will not let you out of bed. period. due to your blood pressure
she just went through this last june. her 1st is only 10 months old. let's just say..."oops".
I am glad I never had to deal with that.
does she have support?
me too
oh my!
that's going to be like twins only without the advantage of only one birthday party to plan!
yeah, her whole family is here. my mom, my aunt, her mother in law and I are switching off days with the baby (Molly).
mine are 13 months apart and they're still mistaken for twins all the time
my sister and i were 22 months apart and have always been mistaken for twins (i'm older, she's taller)
how was her first birth? hopefully being through it once will help-
my boys were 26 months apart and mistaken for twins from the time Grant was one until a couple years ago! Matthew didn't grow very fast the first 8 years.
Grant is really following the tall side of the family's growth curve... Matthew follows mine.
i love births! I am a doula though so i have to love them!
it was fast. only took about 3 hours from the time her water broke. she was hard to get into labor though. it took a few days of pitocin
i love it too. some people get all freaked out when they hear birth stories. it's a total miracle! i love hearing other people's stories and sharing my own
that's neat kimber. i don't have any plans for kids soon but i think i would like to use one if that ever comes to be
I wish I'd had a doula... couldn't afford one at the time. We made do.
i'm glad she had a dr. that was patient instead of going straight for a c-section
leslie, i didn't know we were the same age!
i would have been your doula in return for clues :)
i wonder if Lickety's here but afraid to step in because we're all talking about babies and stuff?
lol might hold you to that
she was actually to the point of wanting a c-section, but she woke up the morning they were going to do it and took a shower to prepare for surgery. her water broke in the shower and the contractions came on FAST
wassup, you sound pretty established though! husband, kids... i'm still working on the getting married part
i am fortunately (i hope) too old now to have kids. I had really bad post-partum depression -- on top of all my other problems. NOT a good situation. I missed so much of their first few years.
stid, all i have to do is say placenta to my husband and he'll stop eating. :) I love the POWER!
i hope she can avoid it this time- the recovery with a 10 month and a new born would not be super fun!
leslie, i got married at 19. i got a head start... i'm the weirdo
i'm only chatting so much becasue I can't find any words- lol!
i found one
i hvae 8!
I'll change the subject! Dr. G, the icons in the chat log are too too small. I know you have to juggle a zillion elements to make everything fit, but the icons!!!! Such a huge babble element!
Look at me. I'm a mere color.
don't rush it, LeslieAnn -- there are advantages both ways (young mother, older mother), but take your time and find the right person. My Tom is my very best friend and so we have weathered some tough times.
i am still getting used to the new format, i think that's why the word finding is so slow (yeah... THAT'S it...)
mab, you're silly. but very pretty, nonetheless.
i just love that i can see the chat log without scrolling
oh, i actually am getting married (in october) but we both kind of shutter at the thought of having kids now. maybe in 5 years or so, but not soon
I feel the same, wassup.
good for you LeslieAnn! yes, get married, enjoy that part of your life, then have kids. but think before you buy lots of expensive furniture and "toys" that kids are tough on them... ;-)
leslie, i didn't plan it. we got married with the idea that we'd wait a few years. 5 months later, i proved the pill wrong... :) It all worked out great and I wouldn't change a thing now. But...enjoy being a couple first, a baby is a HUGE marriage tester...
Don't close the shudders, Leslie Ann === How exciting! Congratulations! ;D
I actually felt the same way, LeslieAnn, when I got married. Oddly, I ended up moving the time table up, but I still think 5 years without kids sounds good for a marriage
congrats leslie!!!
college
noooooooooooooooo
not again - someone just shoot me
thanks! :)
haha thanks for the great clue, helen!
I think, LeslieAnn, that you will both know when the time is right and don't think you have to hold yourselves to any particular time table (yours or anyone else's)
bed time. Tonight is our last night on the "temporary" setup we started using over a year ago. The new mattress set arrives tomorrow. (Of course, it might not actually fit up the stairs....)
To be continued....
Poor Helen.
good night harpjane!
LOL now it says "you're all very welcome" was not found in the dictionary - LOL
c 7/40
ooh, good luck with that harpjane. goodnight
Thank you helen.
ha helen. that's great!
Night harpjane.
*guffaw* helen -- thanks for the cl**!
nite harp
yeah - got that one already :(
What would Enable know about institutions of higher learning.
oops! helen I almost did it, too!
whats the word count?
lol, speaking of other people's timetables, i kid you not, when we told my dad we were engaged he was very excited and happy etc. and in the SAME conversation mentioned grandkids *facepalm*
welll stid ---- i'm waiting ......
It's so easy to do. Maybe by the time we're all in the Babbler Home together we will have learned.
77 words tonight
LOL - the babbler home - lol
waiting?? helen did I miss something? it's getting awfully late for me....
waiting -- for you to return the favor - you said you 'almost' did it
oh, wait around, it'll happen sooner or later! :-)
davi
blast! see?
i tried that, it doesn't work, stid ;)
but that's not even a word
no, but the anagram did!
i have 27 words so far...
Evening all --seeing as how it's such a short one, I will try it on the beta site. :)
I have only 16, but was busy talking about babies...
who's racing me?
evening cybernan
hi nan!
i am
lais
I'll race you bendamalina, but I have to go to sleep soon!
yeah, we'll see how much longer i stay awake, too
What about 'gell'? As in "Gells, do sit up straight'
is anyone having trouble loading the word list? every time i refresh/view someone's profile etc. when i come back my list is gone
I'm afraid you;re incorrigible, helen.
it is slow to load up
that's cause all us babbleholics are trying to see what the grid is like today! so far, I don't think it's very friendly....
you're right mab - i should not chat - or only chat and no grid -one or the other - i think multitasking is just a fancy way of saying doing two things at once, neither well
jaianniah? how are you doing so far?
one of these days i hope coelacanth shows up in babble
that's the best fish on animal crossing :)
got 35 words and am going to beddie-bye. Love to you!
night jaianniah
I feel the same way about the much touted multi-tasking, nevertheless, I would be sad if you were to stop chatting or babbling.
way to go jaianniah! see you tomorrow, I hope. {{gentle hug}}
Good night jaianniah.
that's nice mab
there's a scots word for "lake"....
k, so i just got an update. my sister's staying overnight for observation, but her bp went down. she'll be discharged tomorrow evening if all goes well. no baby tonight!
ok, that's it - i'm going to bed - too tired, was trying for 1 more to make it an even 40, but this grid is tough
*sigh of relief* so she can sleep, and you can babble, and the baby gets at least another day.
i'm glad to here that - she'll be on bed rest though from here on out I bet!
helen, I am still at 21. see you tomorrow!
exactly, all is good
wassup, where do you live?
Sweet dreams helen.
yeah, she's been on bedrest already for 6 weeks.
oregon
Oh my, your poor sister.
good nite everyone - see you all tomorrow - & gl!!!
goodnight helen
oh, just asking cause i have a friend who lives in washington. pretty much everything west of the mississippi is "out west" for me :)
(i'm in washington)
night helen!
yeah, i feel the same for anything that's east of idaho
lol
i did live in missouri for 6 months. hated it with everything i had.
oh really stid? she lives in something with a harbor... gigs harbor? is that a place?
theres the clumping south african orange flower again! - C -
lol too flat and boring wassssssssup?
Gig Harbor, across the water from Tacoma?
yup, that's it. she works for the tacoma newspaper
I live south of there, near the state capitol of Olympia
flat, boring, hot, sticky, lame, walmart, bad grammar, bible belt, etc
Dr. God could you please put a return link from the chat log to the babble page?
lol, that wal-mart is the worst!
there's a good child birth word in here tonight!
tacoma is a nightmare. every time i've driven through it i've been caught in horrible traffic
wassup -- you talkin' about me? I'll have you know I was a shapely girl in my youth!
lo/6
kimber you said a word! :)
huh?
Tacoma is not fun to drive through, though the museum section is really nice these days!
stid, i would never believe you had bad grammar ;)
oops- blushing
oh, flat. got it. little slow tonight
I notice nobody is saying i'm not boring... hmph!
;-)
kansas is the flat state. someone told me a joke once about kansas. you can stand on the ground and see a mile, stand on a tuna can and you can see 10 miles
i know, lame joke
oh stid, you're not wal-mart either, but we're not nit-picking
or sticky, that we know of
does the c-birth word start with ou? ;)
LOL that's very funny! I've been in walmarts twice in my life... not my kind of store.
i'm in illinois- that joke is true except when the corn in high!
they're HUGE and smell of popcorn
no, the child birth word is lo/6
right. then you have to stand on a coffee can!
i love illinois. i have a friend in springfield. it's so pretty in the fall
seriously, growing up in a small midwestern town, wal-mart is a legitimate form of entertainment *shame*
oh leslie...so sad. jk
Just my weird sense of humour kimber.
i used to live in springfield. a tornado just ripped though near where we used to live
d7/56
cybernan...are you using firefox?
in Walla Walla when I was there for college, there were two things to do on Sundays: church or wait for the bars to open....
cyber, just got that joke. hahaha :)
oops- i did it again- said a word-
kimber where are you?
nan -- that was a good joke!
I just got the joke too!
i was in joplin mo. at a bible college. what was i THINKING?
yes, I use firefox
i'm in Champaign- not far from Springfield
Bible co? what did they have to teach the bibles?
I-L-L
so much stid
are you opening the chat in a new tab?
no I wasn't -- how do you do that?
I-N-I
now that was fun. i have many great memories there. are you going to school?
me? now? no
press cntrl + T to make a new tab. then type in the new url
still don't see the lo 6 -- is it something new in cbirth? -- had my kids 40 years ago!
i did go to school here, but I have been done for many years
(or cut and paste). or you can press cntrl while clicking on a link
i can't see the lo 6 either and i just finished my pre-child birth classes with the missus
then you can flip between tabs by pressing cntrl + shift
or... you can right click the mouse on the link you want to follow and then select "open in new tab"
what do you do now?
evilolive -- are you expecting?
yes. she is due June 25th.
it's not an easy word- it has to do with the discharge of blood and tissue after birth
hmm, i'm asking, but unless you say "working at murphy's" i probably won't be able to relate :)
she as in my wife, not sure what sex the baby is
awesome olive, congrats
thx. its the first, so bit of a daunting thought sometimes!
i ate at murphy's this week :)
just sleep as much as you can right now. :)
was that clear enough, nan? sometimes I don't do a good job of explaining
man, what i wouldn't give for some irish nachos right about now...
I work for Crisis Nursery- a short term shelter for children birth-five whose parents are enduring a crisis
irish nachos? intriguing...what are they
that's awesome kimber
oh neat, i know crisis nursery. i worked at the di and we did a lot of stories over there, and for fundraisers etc.
cool- do you know Kit and Mary?
irish nachos are like everything you would put on nachos, but instead it's on waffle fries. mmmmmm...
very exciting olive! When is the little olive due?
dang...sounds good
yes ma'am i do. they might even remember me :)
man -- am stuck at 24 words, and can't seem to focus, so good night, all!
should I pass on a hello?
night stid
night stid
mab - june 25th
Illini Media just built a new building on Green st. it is huge and beautiful!
sure, hopefully they will know me from leslie, if not, leslie & angie will probably trigger their memory. how do you know them?
good night stidmama.
monkeyed the lo!
night stid
did someone post a d7?
i know, i've heard about it but haven't seen it yet. no more walking all the way down green street to work...
do you still need the lo/6 evilolvine
those ee's are in the wrong spot!!
yes kimber, tried monkeying a few, but no luck yet
that new tab didn't work -- have no idea what I did wrong.
are you running windows, cybernan?
c 7/40
coulee
oops -- sorry -- in the wrong box!
hehe thanks cybernan
Just another bad desing on this site!
lo + the two consonants that start the other birth word(the one I kept saying) + third vowel + first vowel
no prob for me, cyber!!
all right, i'm going to have to get to bed. lovely chatting with everyone. hopefully can talk to kimber later about C-U and wasssssup about our mid-20s :)
thanks kimber. mustn't have been listening when they talked about that!
I think that enough people accidentally type words in the chat box that it is qualifies as a design flaw
night leslieann
how long ago were you here Leslie Ann?
um, let's think, '99 to '03
did you go out much?
goodnigh
t
my husband books most of the music in this town
not like i was greek or anything, but i had my fair share of time out :)
lol
really? i didn't see a lot of shows, mostly at canopy
he books for Highdive and Cowboy Monkey, use to for Blind Pig
LeslieAnn - I have to thank you for helping me with the icons and use of google. I have finally figured out how to do it and am thrilled!
oh i went to cowboy monkey a few times, i think it popped up just as i was leaving.
oh excellent dalmatian!
all right, now i've got to go. have a great night all.
me too. goodnight everyone
good night
good night to all who are leaving.
Nice small one today - I bet you are all finished by now ?
If anyone needs them clues are up. Got delayed today with work. Gotta run. bye for now.
tiny but tough, lickety
stuck at 36 -- think I'll go find an icon in keeping with today's theme (teacups)
evil
oh folks, I am so sorry ... I was about to say good morning when I spotted a word and pounced!!
i think everyone is asleep anyways
but no problem trish, this is a very common occurance
ty, dear. I shall pay more attention to what I'm doing now. Which is trying to convince myself that there are *words* in this grid!
heh. i've been stuck at 44 for a while now
vila
omg !
this thing is lethal! (well if you're a half-asleep idiot)
*gets cursor OUT of the chatterbox*
at least it wasn't actually a word
Dr God said we'd get used to it Trish
try making a habit of clicking anywhere on the screen outside of the box when you're done saying something
lol, still this isn't the place to monkey-type
Boys, I'm sure we will ... meanwhile apologies everyone.
no problem, I need any help I can get with this e*** grid!
There's nothing like a cup of Earl Grey ..... Mmmm *refresh*
if there were a submit button as before, we wouldn't have the problem of words accidentally being typed into the log.
hurshy did her best to persuade Dr G of that but he disagreed
I wonder if he'd consider it a worthwhile use of his time to arrange a <bleep> anytime a word from the day's grid is used? Probably too time consuming for too little reason. And then you'd have words like 'them' and 'caulliflower' that people use every day and the conversation would get confusing ;)
I suppose we'll get used to it in time
I think that contrary to what he says in his profile (aim to please) the good doc does precisely what he likes and doesn't really care what we think --- I certainly haven't seen any evidence of anything being done about any of our suggestions.
Cybernan ... to be fair, I think we've only had a couple of days to get used to the 'new'. It makes sense for Dr_G to let the dust settle before deciding if/what changes to make.
Don't get me wrong -- there are some nice new features on this site, but also some of unnecessary ones and some downright annoying ones.
Anyway, my poor old eyes can only stand these bright colours and small type for so long, and the limit has been reached. See you tomorrow :)
I agree, Cybernan, this is a mixed bag o' change, for sure.
night cybernan.
ta ta for now, Cybernan. I'm going to disappear for a bit too, this grid is obviously going to take more prodding than I first thought ... talk to all later.
ok, i'm stuck at 46 and going to bed; night
nght benda
done!!
good job! judierae
Congrats judie
thanks
Any clues for the long words?
Darn grid hasn't revealed anything bigger than a f*** letter word yet :( Morning all.
co 9 and il 8/ have same 4-letter ending
co/....school after high school
jeffer, can you expand on that?
that4-letter ending is also the four letter word that ends the list
el 7/44 has the same 4 letter ending also
rock debris =co
oooh ty evilolive
jeffer, those co 8/9 do not end the same way....
no worries jeffer
jeffer, those co 8/9 do not end the same way....
jeffer, those co 8/9 do not end the same way....
thanks, got them
no not co 8 and 9 i was referring to two other words, jaianniah
k, sorry
no prob - glad you r there!
i am, too! came close to being wiped out by a guy having a fight with his passenger in a Dodge ram pickup
wow and now you are at 2:00Am aren't you? i am onthe west coast midnight
yeah- had to do some hunting for those words and write a shopping list, too LOL
going to bed now...
bye jaianniah. i'm off too
those shopping lists sure do take time, don't they?
bye, all! it is so great to be alive!!!
what's your time? evilolive?
i hate writing shopping lists....grrrrr
done, and just in time, there is another huge storm coming. the other day we lost electricity for 8 hours.
bye jai it really is! my best friend passed away today back in africa
its 5pm friday afternoon. going to watch australia beat new zealand in the rugby league now (hopefully !!)
have a god game - always good to beat those all blacks i am from sa
So sorry to hear that jeffer
ty boysaway
well i have 52 and time for bed bye all
Just found d7/56 but I can't give you a clue as that would "give away the information" :)
thanks fmitch lol
Glad you got it LOL
hi : ) anyone got the first al5?
Morning Babbler, not got it yet
ailin
forget that .sorry
new to this
hehe, maybe if I wait, someone will monkey it into the chatterbox ; ) no worries, mightquin : )
It does seem to be a problem with the beta site, not that I'm using it, still on the old one.
need a clue for il7 and 8 Thanks
Babbler, add a consonant to a word that means the opposite of alkali
Marc, they end in the same letters as the co8 and co9
thanks, Boysaway : )
I don't have the co's
anyone got the first co6?
okay, then word for unwell followed by last vowel, then a 3 letter word that means going somewhere by a certain route
Babbler, add a variant spelling of the e4/7
Boys - you are firing out some good clues this morning. thanks.
Thansk got them both.
thanks, Bosyaway : )
lol! sorry about about the type! : ) any clues for the gl7, please? thanks
typo, even! :D
gl7/48 any clues
gl7, g followed by scottish lake then your intelligence quotient
sorry, your identification I meant
thanks, Boysaway : ) (2 left to find!)
Good morning all. A short grid today - is it tricky?
very tricky, Haz : / any clues for the last lo6 please? thanks : )
Morning Haz, - it's a reall little tinker today but there are some good words to be extracted with patience.
good morning all
morning, Kateq : )
Have to go to bed. Dead tired but a I would like one more clue at gl7/48
I've a feeling the list and all other resources will be used! I'm going to scroll backfor clues. And good morning Kateq.
Marc, try gl plus an exotic flower, minus the r
I hit the list very early, Haz : /
Babbler, perfect clue to end the nite. Only 30 to go.
I got to about 45/50 words before hitting the list and ow am down to last 2 words. Didn't have time to finish yesterday's so got an early start on todays
my pleasure, Marc. : ) sleep well
FMitch, have you got the last lo6, by any chance? (it's my last word)
not sure Babbler am missing 1 l and am just working out which one it is, will let you know in a min
that's the one I am missing too.
Is it lo6/24?
it's the 2nd lo6/24
oh wow! found it! lovely fireworks!! :D:D:D
just gonna make some coffee, then I'll come back for clues, if anyone needs. : D
back : )
Im done too!!! will be lurking whilst working. :)
congrats, FMitch! aren't the fireworks lovely? : D
aww, I looked at the Rankings page, and now my fireworks have gone. :'(
Well done FMItch !
Couldn't say Babbler as am not using the beta site. Thanks Haz :)
This is one of those grids where you want to rearrange the tiles a little.
.. not just a little Haz
Good morning, all!
Good morning, Jera!
Wow, the new site automatically flips to the new puzzle of the day... yet another cool feature!
morning, Jera : )
what is the new sit'es URL, please?
That s is in a very inconvenient spot..
http://beta.playbabble.com/
http://beta.playbabble.com/
Take out spaces as usual
thanks!
i kept putting www in front of the URL
Yeah, me too.
Taking a break and will return.
Later, Haz!
My first thought was, thank goodness for a small grid, but after scrolling back to read the chat, it seems as if it's not so clever?
Good morning ex-Wren - it's not an easy one today!
I JUST managed to finish yesterday, well past my bedtime
Did you enjoythe fireworks?
I see you are in 'the other' site this morning
I'm old fashioned Haz, I'm working on the 'old' site, you can't teach an old dog new tricks!!
Greetings, Ex-Wren! Nasty little grid today...
Yes, I decided to embrace the change. The chat log box being above the chat means you can keep an eye on who has beaten you to giving a cl4/6 and the scroll features are good on the word list.
How can you tell if someone is in the old site?
Morning Jera, still trying to decide whether to play, I expect I will though. My screen isn't wide enough to accommodate the new site, I find it annoying to keep moving from side to side
Yes, that would indeed be annoying
The only way is by looking at 'Who's online' and if they are not there, but are appearing in the chat log, then they are in the old site.
ex-wren, try cntrl - (minus) to make the screen smaller. (although that means you might be peering at the screen...)
Ahhh... I haven't plaued with all the bells & whistles yet
Your icon doen't show Jera, just a plain white box, with a small red cross in the corner
Yes, if you are on the old site, icons that are updated at the new site will not appear
One of the reasons I crossed over!
if you want your icons to show on the 'normal' and the beta sites, you have to update both. : /
I can't believe lu4/8 is valid...
It does kind of go against the grain, doesn't it?
But the three letters of the singular version appear quite a lot in different words today
I'm slowly & painfully finding that out Haz...
I have 4 like that... how many have you found, Haz?
So far 6 but am still working through.
I have e's & i's so far (2 of each)... can you point me to the other set? I can't make al work
co8/65 and co9/84
That's it! Thanks.. nice ones
You're welcome - if I find any more I'll sing out.
That's my 8's & 9's at least...
Nice for all thes vowels to be useful... & my latin is coming in handy today!
You can't knock a bit of latin!
Ooh, I remembered the al5/14 from another grid! I love it whn I do that!
I know what you mean. It gives a great feeling of satisfaction to spot them.
It means I'm actually like, you know, LEARNING! Always a thrill for me. My neurologist highly approves of this game for me!
Wouldn't it be fun if babble could be on prescription?
Then, when people compained, you could just say 'Following doctor's orders!'
Jera, I'm sure my ability to concentrate has improved dramatically since I started playing Babble and Sudoku. Oh, and then there's that there learning too... : )
Well, I've finished with due assistance from Lickety's list and morewords. I'd better do some housework now even if it is not as helpful to the brain cells! Bye all and see you later.
laters, Haz : )
Or if the house didn't get clean... but the doctor TOLD me to play Babble, LOL
Bye, Haz..
Sorry, I wandered off to do some Cinco de May research...
Well, I've made it to halfway, think I'll get a bit more sleep before the household needs to awaken... later!
laters, Jera : )
Hi all! This one looks icky...
good morning all : )
Good morning! Another lovely, sunny day. Well, I've got to 45 words and now my Latin's failing me.
Incidentally, we'll have to give 'hints', not cl4/6's today to avoid typing a word in the log.;)
Hi Jac - you're doing better than me. I'm at 28 and have already started making up words...
lol! Hi Jacs : )
Amanda - making up words is often the best way to find them! It worked for me with 'aithchbone' yesterday!
*'aitchbone'.
Jacs, do you not call a cut of beef aitchbone out here? It's a word I've known since I was a child. 'Course, it still took me awhile to find it, lol!
How true, how true - that was one where I shrieked out loud "you've got to be kidding"
Possibly, Lola, but I've only heard of a 'T-bone'.
'Brrr' made me shriek a bit, too, Amanda.
Hey Everyone, What a lovely night for some word searching
Hey lickety! : )
77 - lovely number!
Lola - How's Anj these days? Does he still play? Never see him on the log now.
that as well - although we've had it before, so it wasn't quite such a shock this time round. I still don't think it should be allowed, though.
Hi, Lickety. That reminds me, I've got a word thing to mail you for your 'odd spot'.
Hey lola! Nice to meet - sorry if we chatted before - My mind is like the kitchen sink, Full with Dishes!
Cool Jacula - MrPresident manages those though - happy to pass it on - but best to use the email link.
In fact she took one off today cause someone invalidated it
Will do, Lickety.
Invalidated it? What happened?
Jacs, he's fine. He's doing some serious job hunting at the moment, so not so much time for babble : (
apparently there is more than one word with all vowels in right order. Fair Enough!
Lola - Send him our best wishes.
Lickety - Ah!
I've got some stats!
You know AtoZ list? Helpful for looking up words?
lickety, not sure if we've chatted but I use your lovely list every day! : )
Jacs, will do : )
Lickety - Doing my usual thing and working without lists or stats at the mo. Will look in soon, though.
And you know Enable list? Apparently the one used to in this game? Well there is about 1400 words in Enable that arn't in AtoZ and about 70 words in AtoZ not in Enable
I found a new site a couple of days ago that could be interesting/useful. It's an add/unusual words site: http://phronistery.info/
can anyone help can't seem to get onto the new site is it www.betapalybable.com? I keep getting site not found.
harvey, don't use the www beta.playbabble.com
Hello everyone!!
maybe 'cause it's play and not paly, harvey? :)
hey mrP! : )
Site header says this:'phrontistery FRON-tis-te-ri, n a thinking-place [Gr phrontisterion from phrontistes a thinker, from phroneein to think; applied by Aristophanes to the school of Socrates]'
lola!! Long time since I have seen you! Hi Jac!
Hi Mr.P. I've got a word thingey to mail you when I've typed it up.
What a friggen Nerdy Stat that Is? Ok, here is another stat - worth mentioning :
Yeah, I've been away for a bit. How are you mrP? : )
thanks Jac... look forward to it.
I just *had* to type in 'elcid' (El Cid) though I knew Babble wouldn't take it.LOL.
thanks Mr P still says site not found . http://betaplaybabble.com ?? I must have a PC glitch
harvey :

Harvey - There's a '.' between beta & play and a'/' at the end.

although i did find a latin type name, lucia
'veni, vidi, vici'... No, 'vidi' doesn't work. LOL.
Sorry everyone, I assume full responsibility for my actions, except the ones that are someone else's fault.
--and 'Olga'.
that is 8 names now. i think that ga** would be much more fun. any more?
Did I hear Hurshy : I honor my personality flaws, for without them I would have no personality at all.
amen lickety
I am willing to make the mistakes if someone else is willing to learn from them.
10 words left, I think I earned the right to use a2z for the final sprint...
Avis is there too, and Lea and Lou, if they count
... and 'Leo'.
Just for today, I will not sit in my living room all day playing Babble. Instead I will move my PC into the bedroom.
i did find one name that worked, a co 4/5 - Nat King co**
LOL, Lickety.
Only a lack of imagination saves me from immobilizing myself with imaginary fears.
I was about to say that, Cliffopa.
ooooh - and a russian/eastern european one - vlad
The first step is to say nice things about myself. The second, to do nice things for myself. The third, to find someone to buy me nice things.
now i'm up to 10 names (and only 15 words in the grid)
Ulli and Ole are german names
Olga, Ilda, Lidia, Hilda, Loui, Luc, Linda, Lee... what am I missing

Blessed are the flexible, for they can tie themselves into knots.

Right, got my 50. It's been fun! BBL.x
yeah of course! Sarcasm is just one more service we offer

I no longer need to punish, deceive or compromise myself. Unless, of course, I want to stay employed.
India
mrp : You say I'm a bitch like it's a bad thing.
B!tch! stop taking up valuable log space!!
okay, list of names is now in my profile. 39 so far, with a few questionable. pass the word along about finding more - email in my profile. bye now for real.
When I want your opinion, I'll give it to you.
;-) gotta go walk the dog
Just nipped back 'cos I found another name - 'Elle'.

*~*~*~FIREWORKS~*~*~* FOR jERA
Yes, indeedy! Thanks, MrP... & Lickety, as well, couldn't have done it (or most any puzzle) without ya!
So the game within a game for today is finding names in the grid? Valid words or not?
absolutely
As this is such a tough grid, it would be nice to have a name finding grid with this one!! there are at least 40 names so far we have found!
'Cleo'!
nice one jac!!
Jac, have you sent me the email yet??
Lucia
MrP - Not yet.
Ali
dave
Evalin
did you get Davis yet?
any hints for the av6/30?
av6 take the av4 and add opp of out
yep, have that one wurd
thx, mrP
Avis wasn't on the list last time I looked - I had an aunt named that.
...and I know a woman named Clida, but I think it's spelled with a y
gosh today's is hard! I only have 29. I think the rest must be out of my vocab range
they are nasty hard!!
Well, I cheated on two words...the hints that are in the log..I never would have gotten those
I'm done! I was *supposed8 to be off 'foffing' but I ended up finishing. Used the list for about the last 10. Thanks, Lickety.

Hi TO
happy cinco de mayo - let's be sure to break out the margaritas today!
i second the margaritas
Woo-Hoo!!!! Only a small grid today!!!!
movieman! don't let it fool you... we have found more names than words!!
Ole, all! Not a Mexican bone in my body, but somehow every Cinco de Mayo my body craves Mexican (well, Tex-Mex) and tequilla! Go figure! Ariba!
Morning everyone!
what is the icon theme today? :)
Oh man! you guys have mexican food!! We don't have that here!
(((Toes!!))) graffiti art today : ) How are you?
What's Cinco de Mayo, guys? I understand that translates as 5th of May, but what does it mean? : )
i third the margaritas
We don't have decent mexican food in London either... can't get a decent margarita for love nor money. : /
it celebrates some war victory in mexican history
El Cinco de Mayo ("The Fifth of May" in Spanish) is a national celebration in Mexico. It commemorates the victory of Mexican forces led by General Ignacio Zaragoza over the French expeditionary forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.
Hey gang I'm back. {{{Babbler}}}
Babbler!! I have to pick my own lemon, shake my own salt, and deworm my own tequila.... just no places here either
*cracks open a bottle of tequila*
i bet this will be an especially significant cinco de mayo in the US. perhaps the protests should have been today.
(((Faerie))) : D
{{{Toes}}}
Babbler--Good Margaritas--Never had a bad one, just some are much better than others! And it's an excuse for a really good party! I've heard rumors there's a real historic significance, but is that really important when downing Margaritas? Nah, I didn't think so!
LOL! Mom!! Well said! :D
hi MrP! :D Yeah... me too. : /
Sorry I was icon hunting :) Still didnt get anything good but I will! (((((ALL)))))
This is the most difficult board I have seen..Could it be me????..Nahhhhh..lol, only 31 words found and the rest is Greek..or is that Mexican???..HI, all

OMG I am slow today lol
Babble - Hurshy didn't want anyone to clue Inge yesterday for some ODD reason.
babbler... I don't agree with Hurshy telling people not to clue others
If not being able to ask, most days I wouldn't have a clue!
I think it isn't her business and if she doesn't like clueing, she should sut the babble chat and mind her own!
Me too Mom23
oh I think I did see that. But I thought I saw others offer clues anyway?
That is so stpid of her not to give a clue whats up with that?

hey lickety...I just want you to know...w/o YOU, I wouldn't be able to play this! I am Daisy, and I am a list-dependent:)
Owwww Tequila - I have another life with Tequila!
WOOT!
movieman - co 8&9 - co + two tall letters + fifth vowel + container for a potion (use last cons for one, drop if for the other)
So babbler!! Can you put his birthday announcement in your list please??
so could someone clue me up with my remaining 7's, the two 8's & the 9.....as far as the 7's go, I have the school & the soil deposits....and I hate it when folks ignore me....
co8 & 9: A loose deposit of rock debris accumulated through the action of gravity at the base of a cliff or slope.
oops, you got that. : /
*holds out a frosty margarita* here anj anj anj...
Movieman - you'll use the same endings on el 6&7, as well as il 7&8
Hi Lickety :)
gl7 - gl plus exotic flower, minus the r
LOL Temple!!
il7 & 8 - a bit like the cl8 and el6 in how they end
Hey Everyone - WOW - it's busy at Midnight here!
ok now this is BAD...sofar I don't see anything that even looks like a word
lo7 - extension on lo6
9am = Midnight Here
heck - boss wants $ estimates pronto - see you later!
nasty lo6 at the end....
but that's not the one that gets extended. (beam me up, Scotty)
MrP - already done. did it immediately! ;D
Myself and my doctor friend are playing :) He is really good at this
Makes me feel.... stupid LOL
Babbler - clues for the lo6?
Babbler - you are so ..... efficient
hehe, yeah, I know, lickety! ;D
Toes did you say your playing Doctor?
thank you Babbler!!
movieman - last lo6, which is very very ugh! - A small cavity or compartment within an organ or part of an animal or plant, as any of the cavities within a plant ovary.
want more?
ROFL yes actually.... I am *evil grin*
I have to go and close the eyelids. Gotta get up and coach 7 year olds on a soccer field in 8 hours.
LOL Toes :)
ty, Babbler, and the lo6 that's extended into the lo7?
Toes check you mail
lo 6 - use first three letters from the lo 4/5 before it + last three letters of another word for donkey
movieman, take you lo4/6, scottish lake, extend that to make it lo6, then extend again to make lo7
hello everyone
you sooooo don't want me to post the definition...
hi harp! : )
ty again, babs....
Hi ya Harp :)
Harp I love your icon - cool
welcome, movieman : )

Hi Jane:)
Bye
Bye Shorty see ya later :)
faeriekae, it's taken off a peace sign that was painted on a microwave reflector in Missoula for over 20 years.
a microwave that is too funny ROFL
laters, everybody. gonna read a bit more of my book now. : )
See ya later Babs :) enjoy your book.
everytime it was re-painted, someone would sneak in and put the peace sign back. It was on a hill, easily visible from the whole town, a symbol that became synonymous with Missoula
my icon is of an icon
LOL
we had a water tower in our town that everyone liked to paint it said Sheriff Lousey Rapes for 6yrs before it ever got painted over.
That was after he had raped 3 High School students after pulling them over for having a tail light out. They were on back road and no one around to stop it. He locked them in his curiser and raped them one at a time.
Was never punished but the system. So the comunity took it upon themselves to do it.
buzzkill....
I'd rather look at a peace sign every day than think about your sherrif. Did he go to prison?
Sorry Ice.
Hell no.
ul5? I can't see it.
But he is no longer sheriff. Someone offed him
Harp don't have it sorry.
would your town like to borrow my town's peace sign?
You bet :)
Actually the tower now say. Sheriff Lousey is burning in hell.
I expect it to be painted over soon with a big smiley face or something.
maybe it should say, "forgiveness will set us free"
I hope those women are getting support!
This grid has me so intimidated that I'm just writing the words in a Word doc, not even entering them yet. Afraid to start it for real!

Hi all - cool new format :)
capone...don't worry, it didn't apply to you. ....teehee just kidding!!
nan: is there a second f in this puzzle that i cannot see?
Hey Donna Danger, ICUP!
cybernan - the last f4 that you need is probably the bad word, change the last letter to a vowel
i'll bet u r missing the f4 that is funky- fu
Ok... I only have 32 words and I am not getting any better
I think i will icon update now... brb
thats ok toes I only have 13 :(
got to watch that enter key!!!
me too shorty!
there are 3 f's -- I have 2 of them (both 4's) -- looking for the missing one.
jaiann.... : ) been there. done that.
cybernan - see my last post. it's an fu4/9 -
thankx, bugzy
the posts fly by so fast, it's easy to miss one!
that third f4 is a strange one- cross
'full
y/w - just getting used to this myself :)
They made the icons even smaller didnt they?
jaiann... : ) been there. done that too!!!
yeah bex
anyone have the si6's? hint?
'wCross full with the beginning of an event under a tent with elephants.....
Wow, only 21 words here, damn work.
Toes I can barely see the icons was thinking maybe my eyes where shot.
bex, i have a si 6, gimme a sec i'll hint you
the ch5/20 plz....
sorry, i meant bugzy
Bugzy si6/21 s plus word for sloping writing minus t
oh if only there were a "B" so I could "belch"
ch5/20 - an herb, good on baked potatoes
ch 5/20: common herb -- onion family
ch 5/20: common herb -- onion family
si6 are realated-the root word begins with a word that we used to actaually do to a phone....with diff. endings
Sorry, I misread my list, I meant the ch5/14.....
ty frances and jainniah and abe :)
ryhmes with the word we used on the phone- sorry
Your eyes arent shot FK, they are prob glued shut from all thet....never mind
Bugzy You're welcome
er all *THAT
ch5/14 - spicy stew with meat, beans, etc - also can be put on baked potatoes, i guess :)
I really think they jacked the icons down to size here
We should ask if they can make them a bit larger
get over it toes...its only a game
thanks, jai
ty, bugzy....
toes: when dr g was here yesterday he mentioned that icons slow things down
if anyone wants to see my icon, look at my profile for the link
yw, cybernan
refresh for new icon :)
a spider?
a MOUSE?
brb
I'm outta here....mice
maybe we should tell dr. g that we would take less speed for larger icons! --- this log moves too fast anyway!
man I'm stressing today, i need to get l/4 5...TSM!!
the co6/24 plz.....
sorry FK, couldnt resist
yeah, I know Capone it just happens with you doesn't it
Missing an a from the third row -- have breathing and eager -- missing?
off to lunch, BBWE
yes
just look at it this way FK, if I didn't like ya, I wouldnt speak to you at all! which in and of itself could be a good thing depending on your POV.
let me rephrase that, wouldn't pick on you at all.
movieman - co6/24 - Grand Co6/24 Dam - it's in Washington state, on the Columbia River...
Missing an a from the third row -- have breathing and eager -- missing?
Later Capone :)
*shakes head sadly* still trying for the si 6 and the breathing a...
Hi how many words today am I searching for-not much time today to babble so want to get started
faeriekae, did you try msn
nan- I think you need the al5/14 - it's like hydrochloric with a tall letter thrown in
temple: al*** and kicking
would you like a hint, temple owl? or sympathy? i can give both!
I've got it up and running Scatty thanks
nan: A protein found in uncooked egg white that binds to and inactivates biotin. An abundance of avidin in the diet can result in a deficiency of biotin.
thanks bugzy -- that was it!
oh MAN!!! LOL!!!! not sure if the babble police or the guys with white jackets should come for me...toes?
at least we all learned something, temple owl :)
: )
is the cl6 related to the cl5? my monkeys are not finding it if it is....
the cl6 is a lovely flowering plant
thanks temple -- new concept -- ans. within clues?
TY TO :-)
the ul5/14 plz.....
Good day to all, dear gang...
movieman ul5/14 u plus what sounds like a type of bean
hi sprite
Hi Sprite :)
ty, frances....
ty frances...hi, sprite!
hi sprite
movieman ....or diff spelling of capital of Peru
TY Frances - and to Movieman for asking- That was my last word - love those fireworks !!
wtg bugzy
yay, bugzy!
You're all welcome
Good afternoon/morning all. Just peeping in to see how you're all doing.
good morning, haz -- did you finish last night?
*basking in the fireworks glow* :)
Yes, I did, cybernan - what about yourself?
Congrats, bugzy --- still have 24 to go here.
a hint for the il 7?
One more word to go, then it's.........FIREWORKS TIME!!!!!!!
Hi Haz :)
please-how many words
77
77 words, majmom
77
Good morning bugzy - congrats on finishing!
il7 - not well, last vowel, latin 'by way of'
And my last word is the va5/18.......and it's ACCEPTABLE........LOL
il7 - ends the same way the co8, and el6 do, if you have those - if not, I'll give another cl4
CONGRATULATIONS MOVIEMAN!!!!!
I keep wanting to enter illogical --- a totaly suitable word for any babble game, but unfortunately not there!
wow small list -must be harder to find -ty gl all
good job, movieman
Yay for Movieman! and LOL
Frances, you've turned pro - nice to know a bit more about you!
yay, movieman! who's your icon, BTW?
I kept wanting illegal to be there...
Haz Thank you. I thought it was about time.
i keep wanting to enter alcohol...
LUSH
it would be appropriate for today
tha's NOT in the grid - LOL!
Temple - ty for the pladits, and my icon is of Lance Henriksen, who played the android, (or artificial person) in Aliens......I chose him 'cos it's his b'day today......
I'll have lots of ice in mine please!
margaritas for everyone!
i want "nilch" combination of nil and zilch...
don't have either the co 8 or the el6
nan: think of the 3 letter in the grid that means by way of...all of those words use it
cybernan IUf you have the co9 drop the last letter
cybernan - do you have the lu4/8 - a strange plural word. The first three letters occur in several words today, including the co8 and 9,il7and 8, el 6 and 7.
OK - the il8 - double the tall letter, then add vi4/7 (used in science labs)
thanks, haz -- got all the 7's and the 8's
whew! --- that was a good run!
It's nice when you get a whole string of words from one section of letters.
I have C7 and i7... can someone tell me which are the other 7s please?
d7 and e7 are two
el7/44, gl7/48, lo7/36
I mean... with what letters do they start :)
clue for gl 7?
gl7- a clue given previously was to add a tropical flower, minus a letter
thanks again haz
Or alternatively, g plus Scottish lake, and identification.
lo 7?
works for me! That's C7, i7 and G7. Which ones am I missing, please?
lo7/36 extends the lo6/24 - therefore beginning and ending with the same letter
Sorry... log is slow in refreshing, I missed your answers! Thanks very much :)
Sorry - have to go
you must be on the old site, sprite?
Thanks for all the help, haz
There is a new site???? I am having only my own icon too, rest is not there.
bye haz :)
ok have to go dancing now bye evryone!
How do I get on the new site?

Later TO :)
cl 6/30 anyone?
sprite, just fired off an email to ya in case you see something w/my name in it
ah, nice, I like babble mail :)
How can I tell the difference between the new site and the old site?
lol, not really about babble , just saw something in your profile that peaked my interest
and before FK chimes in, NO, its not that!
godthaab - if you can't tell the difference you are not on the new site. They are very different.
*teehee*
faeriekae cl6/30 beautiful plant with orange flowers
How do I get to the new site?
go to beta.playbabble.com
the new site is beta.playbabble.com
Capone are you telling Spirit that I'm a SBB?
http://beta.playbabble.com
no FK, she prob alreay figured that out
the old site is www.playbabble.com -- one has a green background the other has a blue one.
speaking of SBB's, TSM you still here?
Probably so Capone....It is so obivious. :) "brup"
Hey! Very Excellent. Thank you!
clivia
damn it....sorry
LOLOLOLOL
TO - I suck with this new layout
at least we know you found the word!
Stick around long enough and I'll have all the words posted in the grid.
thanks dl88 :)
i think we should give prizes - for the one who types in the mos t- and the one who types in the least....we can have "accident free" days counts
What a great idea TO!!!
chili
good morning all -- happy happy sunny day!
alive
thanks capone!
hmmmmmm capone...
mage
omg
capone
OMG
Hello everyone!
;-)
Hello everyone!
hi jera
You're in the wrong box!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
morning, Jera!
these new fields are confusing
faeriekae -- not to worry -- we're all having the same problem. I find it helps to get in the habit of returning the curser to the add word box after every entry in the chat log --- hurshy asked Dr. G to return to the submit button for the chat log, but I think he refused. If that's the case we'll just have to put up with it, I guess.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm capone....
{{it okay capone, we're all doing it}}
come on capone. at least give us words we don't already have like faerie did.
good morning, nan -- is it teatime? :-)
i only have 31 so far
yay, faerie!
lol
grabbing a few in between work stuff
you're ahead of me, capone -- I have a big 25!
grrr, the return / enter is pissing me off
i am up to 64 - but i am having the most babble fun i've had all week!
this is just too funny
Just got back from a Mothers' Day party at Gwyd's preschool... totally precious!
I've got 25 now
Hi Jera *sprinkle*sprinkle*sprinkle*
sonowiguessiwilltypeeverythinginonebiglongcon nectedsentancesoiwonthavefiftypoststoshareone littlethought.
hi jera! i really am leaving - bbl!
humor is GOOD! fireworks are GOOD! no button on chat is NOT good! (hint, hint, Dr_G)
Sometimes pressing enter inputs my message... sometimes it doesn't... unfair!
mothers day? its not this weekend is it?
how sweet, Jera! kids that age can be truly lovely.
missing an lo 6 -- have the one to do with giving birth -- the other?
No capone, it's the 14th, actually
*whew*, time to buy my mom something at the last minute, next weekend
Nope, but next week is Teacher Appreciation so they are partying for that next Friday. I would've switched the two myself, but they stopped asking my opinion (I give it, LOL)...
Capone 7-11 has lots of great gifts.
faeriekae! the very idea! He should at least take time out to go to an internet flower supplier!
whats a 7-11?
or Starvin Marvins.
Mothers' Day kinda sucks for me since my mother died on April 27th (8 years ago, but still)...
cybernan - same first three letters as the other lo6, then last part of another term for Christmas (beginning with y)
i saw a tv segment on that - no kidding...last minute christmas gifts from 7-11
oh Jera... I am sorry.
Or you could go to ABC and get her something really good.
Off to the shop before I fall off my chair laughing
Suggestion for a gift for the mom that has everything --- a manicure or pedicure --- always great!
ty Haz, now I have 26 words! (really zooming along now)
I have never had a manicure or pedicure in my life... sounds lovely...
all we have here are Georgies One Stop, Quick and Fast, etc etc. All the good franchises got bought in this crappy town years ago
co6/24, anyone?
jera, pedicures are quite lovely. highly recommend, as sandal season is approaching
sorry hydra, don't have that one yet
thanks, haz -- that finishes the l's for me.
I have ugly, deformed feet... I don't think a regular place would welcome me...
These words are hard to give hints for! Co plus last vowel plus Mr Marvin's first name.
my feet are shaped like a duck's -- short and WWWIIIDDDEEE
(who is Mr. Marvin?)
co 6 /24: western american term for river valley "Grand Co**** Dam"
Hydra, think of that co**** dam in the US west
now that clue I got! I've been there!
oh, of course! 'The big grand co.... dam!' I'd never have got that. Thanks, Haz!
stidmama The one who was born under a wandering star
'I was born under a wandering star' and that explains why I have such a deep voice, Mr Marvin
I thought that dam had 2 sets of double vowels...
There's a street in Shasta Lake with the GC name, btw
dont be picky, the word sounds like that, thats what matters.
got to break and rest my eyes for a bit -- wish Dr. G would use something other than white against that blue border!
later, nan
Bye cybernan.
I've gotta pee, want me to fix that color cybernan?
Talking of dam, or rather, damn, a2z wordfinder appears to have gone down.
capone! yuck.
i am going to find Lickety's page.. brb
Clue for di7/56 please?
lol
Maybe we overused a2z. I found it always very slow at noon break.
mary...I cannot di****** that answer (clue)
That's the same word I'm looking for, the d7!
Daisy thank you....excellent clue :)
daisy -- ty (you gave an extra wurd....)
Just gof it. Wheee!
di....lol caught myself that time
Since I am done I have been switching between the two grid layouts. Find it easier to find clues in the old one, but harder to locate words in the done list.
ty, tndaisy, got it
I stole that from someone else, not mine:)
;-) daisy -- I think it's going to happen a lot today! LOL
Guess, we all have to learn to live with the new one.
i like the new layout sans the easy enter comment
I do too Capone. I get lots of words from it. *teehee* and give just as many
clive
fortunately that is not a wurd capone!
and so i found out
morning, babblers - looks like most everyone is beta-fied except me.
hi hurshy --- I think Minski was still on the old site...
hi hurshy
it's just sad i can't see any of your icons :(
I'm here. Liking the new site. Not doing much chatting. Only 18 words left to find while baby is sleeping. Must finish before naptime is over!!
oh, poor hurshy. brb
hi stidmama, capone, minski, faerie, inge, daisy, etc etc
hurshy -- can you see my shadow now?
Hurshy
Hi Babblers! I am really in the dark; I see references to a "new site" (I've been away a bit) , so I checked out the Dev. Log, but I don't see a new site listed. Can anyone tell me what's happening? BTW, I just finished the grid and would be happy to provide clues... thanks!
it looks like the links were broken between the various changes... so I uploaded my shadow to the old site.
beta.playbabble.com
ok, stid... do I need to preface it with a "www"?
I don't think so, Aloyisius
CONGRATULATIONS ALOYISIUS!!!!!!
Well, I think I'll go and check it out.. brb
YAY Aloyisius!
Does anyone have the CO6/30 please?
sorry Minski...
Oh, wow... chat to the right!
co6: the last four letters sound BAD, with a vowel substitution
cl6 anyone? my last one. Couldn't find it for the life of me (today, that is)....
cl6: think of ****** newton-john
CL6 - There is a woman's name that starts with OL****. Change the O to a C.
c + female latin name
hehe.
thanks aliyisus & woodchick!& Minski!
got it.... Hey I like the new fireworks on the beta site... hehehe.
yw: this is fun, but hey, the print is definitely smaller
yes, it is possible to resize the font in firefox, but we aren't sure about other browsers...
Still not gettnig the CO6. What do you mean by sound bad? Is there a swear word in it?
well, I like how its all in one box.
YAY walnutchen!
so I don't have to scroll the whole screen when I look at my word list!
The font size is the exact same as the old site.
no, think of **** knieval...
Hi Dr. God... must be an optical illusion (-:
Thanks Aloysius. 7 words left to find.
go Minski!
What fireworks?
when you finish the grid in the new site, you get fireworks!
oh, I finished on the OLD site...
My first fireworks at this web page! Wow! I think I'll keep using this new site! I had to make my own bells and whistles before. This one even lets me know when I've finished.
ah. that 'splains it! well, it's not the same but ........>>>>>ALOYISIUS<<<<<<<<........
YAY Merk!
Stidmama... you made me SMILE.. (-: ty mucho
:-) I like making people smile! :-)
....one more word and I will pass the halfway mark by half a word... *squints at grid*
greetings
hey harpjane!
finished! good start to the weekend :)
YAY Dippnall!
peace sells...but whos buying?
WTG Dippnal !
lol capone
I'm missing the AL5/14. Does anyone have it?
Time to get some work done, but before I go:
okay -- halfway, and to the list for real.
yes, al 5/14: a + "happy word"
al5/14: a bird that dives for its food. ** Capp + *** Charise
oops -- that was the clue for the ag 5/14... sorry
Thanks Alo.
Here goes! Last word! Entering now to get fireworks!
yw: bye all, and Happy Babbling..
Got fireworks. Cool addition. I like the new site better than the old one.
congrats minski
by Aloyisius!
YAY Minski!
What happens when you add someone to My Friends?
not much -- but when you get online you can click on that tab and instantly see who's online (unless they're still on the old site)
So Dr_G included fireworks in the new site? Nice!
I think it's time to make the switch and make the beta site live after lunch.
COOL
exciting
Great!
Yes please Dr_God. Hurshy, you'll like it.
That would be your lunch, not mine, I guess :) Nice site, Dr_G, looks good and works fast and smooth.
ROCK n' ROLL Dr_G
Yeah. It's 12:10pm where I am. ;)
Hi Sprite! guess you finished then?
so that means we go back to just playbabble and no beta?
Nope, I read the log. I just started, actually, I had dinner and am ready to roll now :)
Is cybernan here?
Since noone seems to need any help and it's 1:10pm and I still haven't eaten lunch, I think I'll sign off now. Later all.
Later, Minski -- :-)
I think nan went out for a bit.
Does anyone know how to contact cybernan? The email I have for her is bouncing.
sould we all log off or what Dr_G
I don't know how, sorry -- though the my friends box says she's still online...
Just three to go and I am at a standstill. cl6/30; lo4/5 and lo6/24 are the ones I need
lo 4/5 a math term
hi ExWren! cl 6//30: think of o**** newton-john and change the o to a c
Isn't that Lo latin for "in a place" ?
there are two lo c/24... they start the same. the first ends with a tall hump letter and two vowels, the second has upside down n, tall consonant and a vowel
And the Lo6 starts with a scottish waterpool. Then add the ending of the NewtonJohn CL word.
the newton-john hints are my favorite today
Dr God, I can't seem to get the whole chat log up, when I click on the icon I 12:00 a.m. through 5:57 a.m. only. not all of the clues.
thanks mama. the cl one worked!
that happens with the sudoku chat log also, harp.
:-)
i am watching a garden show while I try to Babble -- and it's really slowing me down! but there are some great ideas... hmmmm
But there is this button View Entire Chatlog
The whole chat log doesn't load? That's odd.
no the entire chat isn't showing
It can be a loooong page sometimes, but it still should load in its entirety.
I also noticed tht
What browser?
I think I'll finish on the beta site, and check out these fireworks
Firefox for me D_G
firefox
good idea, ExWrn!
So Doc do we need to log out or can you do this with us here?
ah -- I know why the grid is so difficult today! No R!
do us all a favor FK, log out....
j/k ((((FK))))
Firefox for me too, and the log isn't loading in its entirety here either. Stops at 5.50
Capone - bite me
ok
*don't listen to him faeriekae!* unless you want to...
P
You're right. Firefox is having problems with the entire chat log
Anyone have a clue for the CL 6/30?
Stid I never listen to him
8*(
Like I'm going to feel sorry for you....NOT
See 12.25 stidmama's clue for the CL6
Hello everyone -- I am checking for my first time in a few days -- what is all this about a beta site?
8*******(
Thank you sprite!
8***( all you want
(((((((GreyWoulf))))) How good to see you :)
i just tried, and the same on firefox. but the "avant" browser that helen uses and I set up last night gets the whole thing.
Yeah. Seems to be a Firefox only problem
WOULF!!!! it is so COOL. fireworks and everything!
(((***sprite***))) --- I never get to see you anymore -- no more late nights for me :(
beta.playbabble.com at least for the moment...
Woulf: http://beta.playbabble.com/
hi woulfie! : ) join the fun!
I have to go play with the god. he's desperate. bbl
Out of the eye, but not out of the heart, Woulf. How are you doing, you and the family?
Oh this is cool!! I like the layout -- it's a bit friendlier for me to play at work :)
*8******************************************* *****************(
yea chatlog works fine on IE 5.2 for mac Dr G
hey GW www.beta.playbabble
Now there is a crybaby. Hush, my boy, dry your tears and get a life :)
Bye Stid :)
Glad you like it, GreyWoulf. Missed you when all the brouhaha was going on.Hope you get the new fireworks today.
Except this site has my icon from several days ago on it, not the pic of my son that I have on the standard site
NOOOOO no www. just http://beta.playbabble
change icon inyour acct top right
Greywoulf--just change your icon again. Just did my own and it was an immediate surprise.
chic -- I can't -- I am at work and have no access to my icon file
Yeah! I have seen the fireworks at last. But I still have my logo icon from last week on this side. I have some caribbean wall paintings on the other side
are on the beta site? top right...
Life, whats a life?
Life is what is happening while we are busy planning other things, capone ;)
sprite -- everyone is doing just great -- Seb is teething already -- Kristianna is loving her brother -- and Kirsten is doing great as well :)
And you, dear Woulf?
Oh I am doing alright -- stressed learning new skills at work, but otherwise thriving -- just wish I was permanent already
does any one have any word hints... im kinda new...lol
Good! Learning new things is a great thing, though stressy indeed. Glad to hear all is so well at your side :)
How about with you, sprite?
Blondie: try the link (bottom of page) for Angelsong's Babble page or check the help file. There are 77 words to find today in this grid. Welcome and have fun.
hey hey, everyone; a very good friend of mine, Mary, is just joining us all in Babble land here! :-)
I am doing fine, Woulf. A bit better every day. Will start working again next week, but taking it very slow. I will put my health before my will power for the time being ;)
oh yes, Sprite; i have to learn to do that a little more, myself! :-/
Welcome to Mary too then! Watch out, Mary, that Mikey just lured you to a very addictive place...
good to hear, sprite :)
{{{{{MIKEY}}}}}
Hey, MIkey! -- just in time for me to leave I am sorry to say -- a half hour break runs out way too quickly when you are chatting with friends :\
aw; ja, i know Woulf....but great to see you, anyhow! :-)
So long everyone -- will be back later to finish and chat :-)
Mikey I also gotta run....got a PT appt. in 1/2 hr and I gotta go. BBL to finish.
((**HUGS**)) for all!
*hug* for Woulf. Enjoy your work ;) And say hi to Seb and your two beautiful ladies from me.
oh; well hi there, (((((faeriekae)))))!!! :-) but.....you haven't been answering my im's? :-P
hello everyone.....
hello, Mary Ellen!
Hi Mary Ellen, welcome to babble land ;)
avil
tell me how to play
And that is a shortcoming of this new site! Almost posted a word, Dr_G, because my cursor was still in the chat window :)
lol, Sprite; i just copied and pasted your 'warning' to my friend Mary in our im window! :-P i don't think she'll heed it, mind you.....she loves word games!
does anyone have av6?
Then your friend came to the right place, Mikey!
Dr. G - is there any way to view the word list in alphabetical order?
what's the point total today, please?
well, Mary Ellen; you just enter as many words as you can see in the puzzle grid, typing them into the little box beneath the grid, where it says 'Add Word'.....the words have to be made up of letters sequentially adjoining each other, and you can't use the same letter twice.....there are help pages linked to on this page, additionally, and people are very helpful with clues/hints! :-)
has anyone gotten the 9/84 yet?? I am typing random letters...and it certainly is not making any sense. at all.
Av6: protein found in uncooked egg white that binds to and inactivates biotin.
there is a set of words today i, e, and c that are all related
rocky, av6 add not 'out' but ** to the av 4/8
thanks, chic!
1242 points hurshy- Hi All playing from my sisters computer & just saw my first FIREWORKS!!!! I'm so pleasedwith myself! Have a lovely weekend all - i'm just about to hit the bottle!!!!!!
co9 - if you take co6 and make it an adjective meaning cooperative (like professors), then change the eg to uv, you will have co9. cut off last letter for co8.
congrats, Snowy!
Ty chic- I've waited so long for fireworks. LOL Dr_God perhaps a round of applause as well?
so... i have a cl6/30, i need another c6/30.
co6?
are you asking for a clue, rocky, or suggesting to me? :)
no, I'm asking for a clue because I am trying to understand the co9 clue without co6 and have been unsuccessful.
oh shoot, i meant co7, not co6, in that co9 clue!
You don't need the co6 in order to get the co9. They're not connected.
ok
hursh, co6/30 add the ev/4/7; take out vowel and add first vowel
and the co7's not related, either.
sprite, do you have another c6/30?
oh, nvm sprite. thanks chic! i'm done.
co 6 is co + ev 4
what univ. did you go to? co 7
I have a Co6/30 for contemporary, originating or existing during the same period; lasting through the same era
i know hydra but i sort of forced them to be related in my clue :)
congrats hursh
um, everyone, i posted something on babanon - if you wouldn't mind doing me the favor of reading it, i'd appreciate it.
thanks, chic :)
Just had a look but can't find it, hurshy. What section of babanon?
Inge!!! wie geht's? :-) hey everyone, meet my good friend Mary Ellen, who has just joined Babble land! :-D
hey ya'll why wont india work? are proper nouns not important?!?!?!
general - like fourth post down?
Gee Hurshy, I considered it was all in fun and so was my response yesterday. Someone is making mountains out of molehills.
nvm. i get it. i feel dumb. lol
I am Michael's friend Mary Ellen.....I will be back later to play and learn this game.....can't wait..
well, i know you had said you didn't mind inge, but i just saw that other people seemed upset about it so i wanted to clear it up.
np girlfriend, we all get frustrated every now and then by words that aren't valid. ;)
Welcome and bye Mary Ellen.
Tag. Mikey. Missed you for several days, which doesnt mean you werent around, just at a different time. Hello Mary Ellen. Do you live in Berlin as well?
Oh, poor hurshy. I missed the incident but I feel for you. Remember Dylan said, you can't please all of the people all of the time.
Oh-oh... hurshy, looks like I missed some of the fun ;) Don't think I ever heard you say something unkind, though we often have a lot of fun. All in the play, right?
hurshy i just read it and sometimes i like a clue and sometimes not i read the exchange last night and though you were just playing so it did't unpset me :)
No I live in the US
well it was play for me, but seems like some didn't take it that way, that is why i wanted to explain.
That can be the problem with chat logs, that we see the words but cannot hear the tone of voice, nor see the expression on the faces. Explanation is good then ;)
ty cindasu. it's just some people said they were bothered and i didn't know how many more might be as well.
Spread the love around!!
Sorry for the long puases. I am trying to set my hair and babble. Computer not in bathroom though, so I am back and forth.
lol @ inge! That's a nice image you make there.
Dear distressed hurshy--I've just read you message as requested and want to say please go on being your playful bubbly self. As one whoe fireworks last night were due only to a literally last minute clue from stidmama, I hope babblers will continue to exercise their own discretion about the acceptability of a clue under whatever circumstances. And toughen up your skin, sweetheart. It's only a game and we all love you.
you're cool with me, hursh
Actually Hurshy I was surprised by this a.m.s comments, since it did not involve any of the critics. Just let it blow over like the trolls. No hard feelings in any case. I enjoy your enthusiasm.
Hursh - Am I bovvered? Noooooo! You're great
done!
well Hurshy, I'm mad at you and I have no idea what happend last night!!!!
8/
capone, that comes from being mad, period ;)
no fireworks - is that just for premium players - or some new feature not yet rolled out?
lol, j/k Hurshy
what does bovvered mean, spellit? I am of a very early generation.
oh - capone, what are you mad at me about? :)
I believe the fireworks are fully functional. Could be that they are only for pro players.
hurshy, hurshy, hurshy: You go, girl! If people don't like the clues, they turn off the log.
please the last si6/21
the si 6/21s are same except last letter
wait, hurshy, where is your post on babanon?
Si6 is more Si4-like.
si 5 like the previosu one with diff. ending
si 6/21 change the last letter on the other si6/21!
it's just under "general" - i wasn't sure where to put it.
didn't see what happened last night but i love your sense of humour hurshy, keep it coming hun. bovvered means bothered inge :o)
I like bovvered better.
i am here again... so many lovely discoveries in the garden.. the yellow irises are blooming under the lilacs. The first orange poppy (i think it's an icelandci one) is fully open. The quince trees are both bloomin... I am a happy camper.
Boy Hurshy, the facts are really getting twisted, arent they?
stidmama, you're also a poet.
clues for both si 6/21s!!
lave
darn
so sorry
it seems like it to me. maybe i am making it worse by talking about it, but i was so distressed to have upset people...
in case you didn't see my post hursy, i said i was j/k
it happens to the best of us, sprite
*hurshy
Sorry Inge - Am I bovvered is the catchphrase of a UK comedienne playing a horrendous teenage girl. Very funny though
just read back a few minutes...
yes, thanks capone :) i did see that.
{{{{HURSHY}}}}
stidmama where are you located? Not as much blooming in SE Michigan.
Yay! I got fireworks!
hooray for chic!
the southern tip of Puget Sound near Olympia Washington
YAY chic!
yeah for chic. hurshy, your point is well taken...
Inge - where are you at...I am in Romeo north of Sterling Heights
sprite -- did you finish while I was out playing?
{{{stidmama}}}
Aha. German classmate of mine lives on Vashon Island part of the year and I have visited there. Your climate is much milder than ours.
Did not, I am doing about a zillion things at once and not getting much finished at all
back for more punishment!
hi cybernan
Nan! You are wanted by Dr_G. He wanted to email you but email was bounced.
You've got it coming, girrrrrrrl ;)
I am in Northville nwo and will be at Orchestra Hall tonight for the Gershwin concert.
Have ea 5, el 6 & 7, ev 4 -- what am I missing?
Small world...I used to live in NOvi
EL4 babblet word
oh hurshy -- just read the babanon thingy. {{{{{more hugs}}}} and know that when I beg for cl**s, I REALLY want them!
el 4/5, cnan
brb phone
Buzby in the grid lives in Warren.
certainly, stidmama. :)
i agree with stidmama. and hurshy i know i appreciate your patience and clue giving. it's so hard to tell on the chat log if we want clues out of need, desperation, impatience or laziness...
in the grid?
No Buzby is a babbler, not online right now.
HELP! co9,84. any hints????
it was only because it was her LAST word
oh - new to babble love it
Welcome wurdygurl, and have fun!
thanks, Hurshy -- don't know how I missed it -- it certainly appears often enough!
understandable. i usually like to figure out my last word too, except for the 258 word day :)
I joined on the great political debate day....made my head hurt for a while
You're welcome :)
Welcome wurdygurl, are you addicted yet?
Have 2 hi 4's -- what am I missing, please?
just a yes or no-is there actually a word here that uses the x
I have been logged in since 7ish and only have 38 words.
ja, Inge; ich habe deine Nachricht gelesen, und ich stimme vollstaendig ueberein! :-/ das macht es kein Spass; es war das gleiche fuer mich den anderen Tag! :-( hmm; benutzest du eine 'IM'?
two more hi 4,4, cnan
Then you are more than halfway, wurdygurl. 77 words today.
If people ask for clues, no matter how simple, they probably need a clue. Otherwise everybody remains clueless... it's a game after all....that's all I have to say about that....
i have two words so far that use the letter "x".
Thanks, inge
wurdygurl- this board is a tough on today, but keep it up! we're here to help too
im at 25 so there are some of us worse of -lol
well, like i said in my babanon post, i just won't do it anymore. if anyone sees the people that were upset and you want to point them to my post, i'd appreciate it.
well, I am a bit disadvanted....too cheap to pay ten bucks
can anyone give me a clue about co 9/84??!?!! PLEASE!!! from one babbler to another!!
Potatoes, fyi, no words today use the letter 'x'
girlfriend, do you have co 8?
nein, I am computer "handicapped". When my kids come by, they teach me other steps in this game. One is coming tomorrow.
no i dont abe..haha...ive been a little slow today!
they are related, hang on, lemme get you a hint
thanks abe u rock!
The chat log doesnt always work, does it? I pressed the enter five times before my last message got through.
Hello, Babble! anyone know if we will need to log out for the switch today? any clues for the cl5's?
the ironic t hing about that inge, is that we have all been accidently entering words from the puzzle into the chat log all day
hey inge. fyi. you hit post. not enter. LOL just kidding
girlfriend, do you know spanish?
wait, hurshy, are you saying that you don't feel comfortable giving hints anymore? or just last word hints? i'm a little confused
non monsieur, mais je parle francais en fluent, but i can try to decipher
well, co 8 is co+ spanish word for rain
add a letter for the co 9
i'm saying i won't playfully tell people not to give someone a hint for their last word, even if it is easy.
If you lose your playful side, you won't be hurshy anymore, hurshy. Just be yourself and let people choose for themselves whether or not they like to be upset.
aha. i got it. i was on the log for the "incident" yesterday and i think everyone is cool
have a cl 6 and a co 6 -- what c 6 am I missing?
girlfriend, the first four letters are like co 7/40, then add 5th voewel, inverted 5thvowel, third vowel, and first vowel
Another Co6
there's co 6/24 and co 6/30
Mmm -- it's the co 6/30 then
colege
thanks abe you are awesome!!!
I think the cursor should jump back to the Add Word window after posting in the chatlog. I almost posted another word.
Your are missing the Grand co***** Dam
i'm glad you got it. i had trouble clueing it, inge's clue is better...
abe, that spanish for rain clue rocked! I didnt' know what the word was but google to the rescue!
going to have to ask for a clue on that co 6/30?
me too nan:)
have the grand one inge -- it's a 6/24
ty, i've been wishfully typing in spanish words all day...
co 6/30 a performance review done by two or more people
thought that was ajudication!
hey everyone! closing up shop to go to classs - see eveyone later! feliz cinco de mayo!
bye temple owl. y usted
Co6/24: valley, streambed. Ends with the same 3 letters as the G happy word.
bye, TO!
ok your skills have to have this before you can proceed

LO6.24 is LO4.6, 3rd & 1st vowel
thanks lynxxx - I actually need the second LO6/24... it's my last one
sorry - missing that
vpchat, I think the word you need is a Scottish lake followed by third and first vowels
thanks hetty, I'm actually looking for the second LO6/24
vp: starts like the other lo 6, then last vowel, tall letter, vowel
locuvi
oops
Then you want a n angram of "clue" best clue I ca ngive!
still getting used to the chat box up here, sorry
(hi hetty -- is it still pretty up there? we have "filtered sunlight" today
any help with cl6/30 please...my last one
you're close vp -- try another last vowel... ;-)
hi Kallia: we've been using this for the cl 6/30: o***** newton-john
trade out the o for c
Hi, Stid, my dear wife. Yes, it's fitered here too, bue what you said iimitably about your garden applies. As I click away I watch a family of quails under the wistaria--so pretty
hey wurdygirl, i'm having trouble with the co 6/30 hints... :)
thanks stidmama - that gave me my first fireworks!
ah -- that's a plant I long to have, but haven't decided which color yet! (also need to have a good sturdy structure for it first!)
I am not making much progress on the grid today because of the garden!
thank you stidmama...wouldn't have got that I think so now I am DONE
YAY Kallia!
wtg kallia
co6/30 co + ev4/7, but instead of 3rd vowel use 1st vowel
YAY vpchat! (aren't those fireworks COOL?)
Mari, forgot to tell you but if you go onto bbc radio northampton's site and click on the digger there is a quote from me about corby. I also have a little interview which is number 4. I'm not phoning again or you will think I am stalking you!!
Evening everyone :)
fireworks are so satisfying today
hi katieW!
thanks vpchat
thanks all. Anyone need anything before I go?
very cool, stidmama - thanks for all your help
yw :-) me an' my garden aim to please!
okay, now it's time for me to look at the grid again... social butterfly that I am ;-) *dives in*
do the el 6 and 7 relate to the el 4?
not even a little, stidmama
okay... hint, please?
they relate to the il 7 and 8 stidmama
el 6/30 el + 5th vowel, latin word for "way" (as in "path")
ty vp chat! 'Tag Mikey!
hi mikey
i have never seen those el words before... my vocab expands daily!
Ok, folks. I'm preparing for The Big Switch. Shouldn't take me more than a few minutes. So strap yourselves in! :)
Ok stidmama how do you get a gap in the post without entering the message? Mikey, good to see you, we keep missing each other
*when* my figners work right, I hit "shift and enter" simultaneously
okay, seatbelts, locked, barf bags at the ready LOL
ach.....oder, 'Spass'! grrrr; Babble mag nicht meine Gaensefuesschen! :-(
Thank you I'll try it next time :)
oder meine Druckbuchstaben! :-P
KatieW!!! :-D lol, sorry; been busy, back and forth here.....and just wanted to reply to a message of Inge's she posted earlier! :-P how *are* you???
oh, sure! talk to katie and not to me *pout*
whoa; 'big switch', Jamie? uhm; what is that.....this is moving to the new site already?
yes, new site in a few, Mikey (isn't this exciting?)
Stidmama!!! :-( sorry!!!!! don't be silly; i always talk to you!!!!! ;-)
Good Mikey, haven't done much babbling but loads of chatting recently as I ran out of paper for the list, but tonight I'm determined to get fireworks :) Hope you are well
well, Katie; i have some all ready to fire up for you, once you've earned them, my dear! ;-)
Mikey -- the new site also makes its own fireworks you know! :-) VERY cool!
I'll take all the fireworks I can get;)
wirklich, Stidmama??? :-o WOW!!!!! ja; sehr sehr 'cool'.....sogar, ganz 'cool'!!!!! :-)
oh, the hummingbirds are doing their mating dance outside the front door! they chatter and zoom up, then "stall out" and swoop down in a huge arc... very exciting!
my hummingbirds eat that sugar water like little pigs, outside my bedroom window
any hint for the lo4/6
lol, i'm reading a poem about a hummingbird right now stidmama. seriously
dr_god are any changes happening tonight?
ours have been ignoring the feeders! I guess there's plenty of real food out there for them!
we added each other on MSN, didn't we, Katie? lol; i seem to remember.....but my memory fails me lately, since my mind's on too many things at the moment! :-P
bex, Dr_G said he was bringing the new site online right now... it should be really soon!
I have flowers aplenty, and even an orange tree...but mine still love the free meal
Mikey we did but I keep forgetting to log onto it!
mmm oranges. I want to have a little orange, a lemon, and a pomegranate when I get my greenhouse... it's too cold in the winter for them outside, but they would do fine in the summer here. :-)
oh ja; a very good personal friend of mine just joined Babble a little earlier.....'Mary Ellen'.....so when you all see her here, be extra nice to her, won't you? ;-) lol; you'll enjoy her, she's a lovely, warm and humourous lady! :-)
Cross your fingers...
Rish, lo4/6, another word for lake.
whoa the log hung up for a moment.... the other site is transforming even now I note
will we notice a change on the new site?
i feel like my computer is going to blow up or something
i'm going to take a break and come back in a few. I wrote down all the words I have already just in case... the suspense is something awful :-S
*pulls up a chair*
hiya babbler!
it really is
*wonders if chatterbox will be bigger* ; D
The switch is complete!
oooh !! ooh! it's up. we can go directly to playbabble.com again!!!
No more need to go to beta.playbabble.com
YAY Dr. GOD! ..........>>>>>>>>FIREWORKS<<<<<<<<........ .. for dr_god
thanks, dr.god!
thanks dr god!!! :)
WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOO Dr_G
hurshy -- can you see me now? :-)
YAY!! It worked!
Oooooh. Fabby gorgey! (That's fabulous and gorgeous the lazy way).
Farout huh?
ooh! I was still on the beta site. I got left behind! :'(
mari did you look at the digger?
chatterbox is still too small : (
i'm going outside to switch some hoses. BRB
hint hint
dr god hurshy is experiencing problems she says:when i refresh playbabble, i get as if i had clicked on the view entire chat log button, and that i have no word list or place to put in words.
*flutters lashes at Dr G in vain*
I did - was very impressed - will send it round the family!!
Define "small," Babbler.
Please don't but at least I got some buzz words in there so can keep the job for a little while longer;)
Hurshy needs to lop off the number on the end of the URL
wow; am i here? :-o lol
Go to just "www.playbabble.com"
{{{{Dr_G}}} your are frickin awesome
ooh!! well, Dr God, I really liked the size of the chatterbox in the 'old' site, where we could see more then 2 lines of text, and the chatterbox.
whoa
.... it made checking over what we've written easier
different
I like it better here.
hiya hurshy!!!!!!! :)
Babbler- Two lines of text and the chatterbox? I don't follow. :\
Oh. You mean the "enter" field?
I was going to say 'and the chatterbox grew with our messages', but I can't remember now if it did or not. : /
hiya bex :)
Excellent! Word scroll is really useful
it did babbler, always 50 but they could be longer or shorter
help with the co 8 and co 9?
hurshy, you posted 50 lines in message?
I can't see what I'm writing in a diddy chatterbox this size. Apart from the two lines in front of me.
dr_god, is it possible that on peoples profile's their icons could be bigger? so we know whta they are. :)
bex777- That's next on my list
thanks! :)
help with co 8 and co 9?
co 8.65 = first 4 letters of co7/40 + 5th vowel + latin word for path or way. co9 extension of that
next after babble shirts, dr god.
smaller what are babble shirts?
My lovely neighbours are in their garden. I didn't know you could string so many swear words together without breaking them with a normal word!
Yeah we need Babble Shirts what a great ideal
bex, excellent question. dr god's making babble shirt. and babble coffe mugs.
LOL katiew
soon
No mugs - just shirts. ;)
really?!?!
Hmm. I'm unable to change my icon. It won't accept either a jpeg or a bitmap file.
darn. thought i could slip the mugs in
i still dont undertsand but ok then i will wait and see! :)
I could do with a new mousemat, Dr G...
Katie W - are they weeding it??
doc i am having some probs
bex - t-shirts with babble on them : )
Dr_G when do you expect you will be able to purchase the shirts? Any idea?
God you should see it, it's back to how it was when I moved in....she was in it having a fag and eating pizza (yes at the same time) at 7am this morning.
lol sorry dr. god. no not really. gimme me darn shirt
Sorry, hurshy. Try now.
KatieW a fag???? may I ask what you are referring to?
time for my dinner... Congrats on the new look site, Dr G! Looking good!
time for my dinner... Congrats on the new look site, Dr G! Looking good!
faeriekae- I have friends in the t-shirt making biz. I just keep forgetting to get the ball rollin' on that.
Later Babber :)
still same prob
gah, we could really do with a Post Message button... : /
every time i refresh i get a warning unresponsive script message
bye babsy wabsy!
sorry english slang for a cigarette - not I supsect what you were thinking
i hit continue and nothing seems to be wrong on here
Judi- Try the buddy icon now.
but i can't change my icon.
sure is cold. would be nice to have the warmth of babble in shirt form
hurshy- A few others have reported the "unresponsive script" error. I've done research on it, but still can't figure out what's causing it.
brr.
i still dont undertsand this whole shirt idea
is it related to the fact that i can't change my icon?
bex,
hurshy- Try now
The buddy icon thing should be working now
smaller...move out here with us! pleasant 74 here, doors are open...
oops, sorry hit enter, bex....like a mass t-shirts made that display the babble logo. proud babblers and all
Smaller I think you will find that is spelt Brrr!!
like send them in the post or for online?
ok, icon working now.
Negative on the icon change, Doc. "unknown file format".
katie - lol!! too cold to type the whole thing out. now if i had a babble shirt.....
what on earth just happned to my babble??????
I lik it though :-
smaller LOL
Judi- What kind of file are you attempting to use?
doc is it better for me to say stop script or continue?
hi ginger! new,improved format!
hi smaller and everyone! : )
Doc - I have tried both jpeg and bitmap. No dice on either.
hiya temple!
hey bex!
bex, to wear!!! like ordered on-line and mailed.
Hi Temple Owl!!!!!!!!!
hey I'd love a shirt! that way I can finally get rid of some of the rags that the S/O is ashamed for me to wear...of course...he's gonna wonder about the whole babble thing...has no clue I spent money on it...;) I'll just tell him babble is cuz I talk so much!
Judi- Can't use bitmaps, but jpegs should work. Are you uploading a file or fetching one off the web?
i should get a commission. (hint hint)
Doc - trying to upload a file. Although, most are pics I saved off the web.
ahhh i understand!! evtually
Dr_God, can I stat an observation?
Judi- I just uploaded a jpeg and it worked. Make sure you are using jpegs.
Fire away, Ginger
Just tried another jpeg file. Nixed.
daisy - CA!!!! wow it must be warm there! you lucky duck!
Is anyone else having problems uploading new icons?
not anymore doc, it's fine now.
nope
the new background is creating a bit of a scrolling effect/illusion...
Not me just did it.
New icon
some photo sensitive people may find it a problem
Who needs drugs, eh, Ginger? :)
Okay. Now I'm back in business. It finally accepted a jpeg.
lol
dr god, one difference i noticed is that after i downloaded the firefox upgrade that you recommended, most of the color is gone. just yellow tiles and black print, that's it.
Hello all!
doc - do you think you're going to be able to fix the firefox "view entire chatlog" problem?
Dr. G - just changed my icon also.
hurshy- I lied before when I said the icon thing was first on my list. The Firefox chat log display bug is 1st on my list.
lol
Icons are no problem on my end
and should i hit "stop script" or "continue" when i get the unresponsive script message?
is there going to be a button for the chat log?? :)
hurshy- It doesn't seem to matter. Both paths end in disaster I think.
evenin' all! I like what they've done to the place!
Gotta go missed the start of American Idol - bbl
well actually it doesn't seem like it causes any trouble... i can't tell because i am already done with the puzzle.
See ya KatieW :)
bex777- Not likely. Sorry. ;)
I am having a ball watching all the icons pass by. Keep changing them. It is fun.
Dr. God .....did you see my post about the firefox 1.5 upgrade?
the other day i type my whole chat log thing in the babble word box and i stuck for about 5 minutes deciding wether it was a word
smaller- About downloading it 4 times but not installing it?
other than the scrolly blue background l lie the new layout!
doc - you know the chatlog bug is the same in sudoku, right?
Inge: you silly frog
any clues for co6?
everyone on the new site is chatting and not babbling...Please, can anyone give me a hint for the ul word?
dr. god, no. just now. after installing. all background colors are gone. i even cleared it. downloaded and installed again. all that's on the screen or the yellow tiles and the colors from the icons. everything else is black and white
hurshy- Yes. It's the first time I've cursed Firefox and not Explorer. :\
smaller- That is really bizarre. Is there any way you can send me a screen shot?
yeah - i don't want to have to switch back to explorer :)
Shirin--there are two co6, the first is a word that describes two things going on at the same time, the second is a Chinese laborer
Badcat: Ul - Islamic scholar
Ginger, If you scroll to the side edge of the page til the arrow comes up you can then drag the page in until you no longer see the blue backround on each side.
lave
Sorry! Dammit. Need a button here. Don't look!
thanks summerbreeze, good simple soluton!!!!
another question doc - is there something we can hit like shift-tab to switch between the chat entry box and the word entry box?
your welcome :)
hurshy- You should be able to just hit "tab"
hmm when i hit tab my cursor seems to disappear
Arg, Shirin. Not the one-eyed kitten. That is so sad.
oh no, it doesn't disappear, it goes to the profile of each person who has posted in turn.
hurshy- Are you using Explorer or Firefox?
firefox
help! what's happened to my babble?
thanks Judi
ooooo dr-god would u like to hear my latest problem? :)
badcat, if you're still looking for the ul word, try adding 2n vowel, arches and ist vowel
hello
thanks hetty, I got it
bex777- Lay it on me
hurshy-
methinks dr_god is diune
hurshy- Looks like Windows browsers like to tab to every single little thing instead of just field elements.
Mac browsers don't do that. So I guess it's just another reason to get a Mac. :)
yes
i should buy a whole new computer so i can tab to the word box :)
Sorry. Posting under The Prof again. ;)
hello
well when i but the curser into the box you enter words in my email address apears! it stays for a while then goes
hi Samy:)
hello tndaisy1960
Welcome to Babbleonia!
its gone its ok!
bex - I have the same porblem, only in my Add Word box the word 'warts' appears... this has been happening for a few weeks, since the word 'warts' appeared in a Babble grid... I figure it's a Firefox problem...
same here, Bex 777.
or it knows something sherb...
Sherb - sounds like a Babble fungus.
thanks
man, if i had known the switch would be today i would have saved my last word so i could see the firewords
I have 20 words to go, but i need to give my eyes a rest and do something relaxing...like...*gag*...housework!
fireworks that is
sherb and bex777- This sounds like an AutoComplete thing. Your browser is trying to help you out by auto-entering previously entered words. If you want to clear the history, follow the instructions on this page: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=217148 (F or Explorer only though)
hurshy and Judi - I am truly laughing out loud... :)
bbl and probably will be begging for help
thanks Dr G... I've saved that for later... called the file 'warts'... ;)
Good afternoon/evening all. hurshy - if you want to see fireworks, just log in as a different person, enter your words and then astound us with your brilliance and speed!
evening Haz :)
Good evening sherb - we saw sunshine today! Could the summer be coming?
Angela? I want to ask you something...
Today was summer!!!! Hi all
I think the Almighty was just teasing us, Haz... the forecast here is for rain tomorrow...
hi FMitch :)
I'm here Chic - shoot
Hello FMitch - had a good day?
Do you follow extreme sports?
Only my cats. :)
is any one else finding that anytime new chat appears the grid jumps?
Did you see Mike Metzger's back flip over Ceasar's fountains yesterday?
No, I didn't. I was hanging some doors and went out on the motorcycle - I don't think I watched TV at all = was it good?
Hey sherb and Hi Haz, Good day and week thanks :)
harvey - no, not me...
totally awesome!! He cleared 125 ft. a new Guiness record..
harvey - I haven't had any problems either.
How do I put a paragraph in this new log, cos now "enter"send the mesage
Wow! I'm assuming this was not on foot? ;)
must be me then constant flicking is driving me mad
harvey- Upgrade to Firefox 1.5
FMitch - I wondered the same thing...
will try that Dr God Thanks
FMitch- Hold down the "Shift" key
Shift-Enter goes to the next line
I'm going to
try this out -
hmmm...
Testing Testing - OK that works Oops - I think Haz has hic ups!!!!
What did I do? What did I do?
Haven't seen the X games? Mike aka as the Godfather is a champion motor biker. He did the first successful back flips back to back in the 2002 summer X games
Lookin a little redundant there, Haz.
Sorry - I'm completely uneducated when it comes to that stuff. Don't tell anyone but I actually like the lumberjack sports - and some baseball, but that's it.
Did you see how the silence got longer all the time?
is it me, or have the words in the Word List become much more compressed today? ...
Haz - and who says you can't see silence, eh??
lol. haz, you are cute.
sherb, it's not just you
Well, I know that you are into bikes.. Check out the summer X games in August. It'll blow your mind what they do on Bikes these days...
Chic - I will do that for sure. Mostly my idea of extreme sport on my bike is watching out for NH potholes :)
thanks daisy... so much change, I was beginning to doubt myself...
BTW, got IM yet?
Not yet :)
only takes 5 min. :-P
The new layout is elegant ,all info visible, the sliding word list is excellent
The compressed word list is intentional, and is how it has always looked on Mac browsers. But I could never figure out why it was so spaced out on Windows browsers. I finally solved the problem as you can see. ;)
Chic - Point taken :)
Life without IM just ain't life.
OK back to the real world...later.....
there ya go, Dr G!
Uh oh - Now I've got the Doc commenting on my lack of IM??? EEK!
I applaud the quest for perfection... :)
LOL!
Talk to you soon Chic! :)
Can I get some clues for the Co8 & 9 please?
thats me finished
well done sha! did u enjoy your fireworks?
oh yes bex
im determind to get my first ever fireworks tonight!
Judi - do you have the co7/40? If so, use the first four letters, add the last vowel, and then latin 'by way of. That gives you the co8
you go, bex!
hi everyone
Hello HK
hi hk!
Haz, I'm a dope. I actually have the Co9. No Co7 or Co8 though. Are they similar to the 9?
ok no clues requested yet - just a general question: is there more than one word using the prefix in?
cut off letter for 8, 7 is university
The co8 just takes away the last letter of the 9. The co7 is a place of learning.
no temple
thanks hursh! : )
you're welcome! :) :) :)
Thanks Haz & Hurshy. Got em. Now I'm just stuck with the first Co6/30 and the Co6/24.
(see how i try to smile more for you temple? :) )
yes! i noticed !
hi helen :)
either that or the zoloft is working, lol
bye all see u tomorrow
bye sha!!!
mmmm...You sharing Hursh?? :)
nite sha :)
lol! the funny thing is, people do tend to come up to me and tell me to smile - i was a miserable little kid!
i was a VERY shy kid. and scared of everything. had to have my one year old sister go down the slide before me when i was five so i would know it was safe. fell on my bicycle once and didn't ride again for four years. :)
NOW i'm sharing, angela :)
Wow...I should say so! hehe
lol hursh - hard for me to believe that about you - clearly the years of therapy have paid off well, lol
I meant the drugs, but hey... hehe
hey hursh: did you notice my cinco de mayo icon? a cat with sombrero!
AH - i did not, with the smallness, but now i can see it :)
and it's only been a year and a half of therapy - he's very good!
Bravo to therapy man then - he's doing a fine job on you!
hurshy - no kidding? really?
icon shopping was a chore not fun with small icons : ( and to think i thought i would hate themes!
yes... but i had gotten over the shyness before, like in high school.
Just a thought - would prefer larger icons and lose the blue background.
i am still painfully shy - it manifests differently in adults
blue background???
and it is easier to be uninhibited online.
true hurshy...if it weren't for online...I wouldnt have any friends
whoops judi - i don't care for white log background on white background
judi - it isn't the background that is why the icons are small - if they are bigger, it apparently makes the site run slower, so doc wanted them smaller. but he is going to make it so we can see them bigger in the profiles.
Yes, Angela. Don't you see the blue wavey background behind the white puzzle page?
mine is a graffiti of swiss cheese, in case anyone wants to know :)
morning/evening babblers!
Oh... I don't really see it much. I have to scroll back and forth to see the log and the puzzle. Maybe my settings are wrong??
: ( cannot see it well enough to make it out...lickety!
Gotta run to the grocery store real quick - BBL hopefully
hi lickety !! :)
Angela- Sounds like your monitor is set to 800x600. You might want to change that. Go to Start > Control Panels > Display, and change the resolution to 1024x768.
well i have 11 to go - to list or not to list.....i think not! i think i'll be back tonight after class to finish!
Hi all -- back for my last two words....
Hi all -- back for my last two words....
co 6/30?
Does the gl 7 start with the sugar word?
hurshy - sorry - phone call -
cnan, not medi**** but co****
okay, am back for a while. the garden will just have to wait until evening now, it's too hot to work in the sun alone.

hi helen :)
hi hurshy!
hi stidmama! :)
hiya stid!!

not ringing any bells hurshy -- only thing I can think of is medicare
are you finished stid?
oh, cnan, i meant like the dark ages.
hints please for gl 7 and the il 7 ?
that was rather unclear now that i think about it.
oh no. 27 words to go, but have over an hour before I need to go get grant at school
awww, i liked the company, what are those ? lilacs?
gl7 add pretty tropical flower - r
il7/8, el6/7 and co8/9 all end the same way
yes, the first lilacs that bloomed this year -- that particular bunch is faded now, but there are lots more :-)
ha -- got it! --- what I'll be absorbed in in a couble of weeks (history) -- thanks, hurshy
i see i am just going to sit here & scavange clues - this is one heck of a grid
stid- are all your icons personal photos? that's cool!
my last c is a 5... I have ch 5 x2 and cl 5 x1 -- what am I missing?
that's just what I was thinking helen! LOL hmmmm *put aluminum hat back on head*
oops -- make that ch 5 x3
LOL - hat, lol
some of the icons are things I make up in paint, and a couple (early on) were scavenged from the 'net
thanks hurshy good clues both though i blush at the il 7 'cos i should have seen that
What is your icon today stidmama -- they're so small it's hard to tell!
i totally agree - for a small grid it is a doozy. Its been a long hard slog but am down to my final 4 - clues for the co6/24 please
bye everyone! c u later! stid - my puter revived!
bye to!
cnan - change last letter of you cl5
see you later TO -- glad it came back to life!
Here I am begging again, because I have only on word left to find--and you all know how that last word hides. Please help me find it: it's the cl5 that has nothing to do with cleaving
go sandr go!
co 6/24 revolt - p + robert e. ***

stid -i am only fast at the beginning, when i am out of words i know then the true torture begins - nope, i think it's a fair race & you will probably win - 29 now
YAY Hetty! first, I'd like to find my brains, then I've misplaced a few marbles, then.... maybe the fu 4/9 that keeps eluding me please?

Thanks, hurshy for great clues on the els and ils as well or the gl. Is the ul 5 a regular word I would llikely recognize as a real word?
ah! back to normal
no on that ul
hetty -- i just monkeytyped it! LOL
stid- i believe hurshy may be psychic - giving clues to all my blank boxes :)))
ul + ostrich-like creature change last letter
I presume you have the fu9 which is how you feel after your two drinks The other one is Latin (surprise) and is klike when tempus fugits, only it replaces the g with a 3rd letter and takes off the last to
hey munner, congrats on going pro! *pours munner large margarita from her new pitcher* : )
okay, the next one is.... any of the ils or the in?
Hey gang back for a few more words.
hiya faerie!

stid - one if the il's is close to pubises
lola, please convey my loud and boisterous HAPPY BIRTHDAYs to the much missed Anj, will you?
louve
oh yes, me too on the birthday wishes!
me three
okay: the ils are Latin too-or Greek, really, if you knoew your Homer you're away withn the il5; take off the last letter for the il4; replace the "y" of Shakespeare's setting for twelfth night with a "u" for ilk7, and then add another consonat o the end of that mythical place for il 8
ty editer
thanks lola - got disconnected for a while there
munner, she is truely gorgeous! : )

Mari, where were you hiding when we were trying to find you?
I think we should all have another round of margaritas to celebrate Anj's birthday! : D
I was a lot better, Anj, before you and baggo, and some other people became so overly involved with the real world..... Otherwise I'm fine.
help me please am looking for the la 4/5? at leat i think thats the one i'm missing having resorted to the list
real world? there's a world outside of babble? huh?
any clues please for co8/65 and co 9/84?
la 4/5 relating to those who are not the clergy
the last la 4/5 is the same as the first with the consonant next to the one you have....
I've heard about it hurshy.
Mmmm...and it was sunny out there today : )
*no hurshy -- that's just a viscious rumor*
Hi Both can only do one thing at a time so was late catching up with the chat. Had a great holiday
co 8/65: first for letters of co7/40 + 5th vowel + latin for way or path. co9 extension of that

Mo Scottish lake + ia
You'll have to dust off you microscope to see the icons.
scribble, I dunno. Maybe Dr. God decided to let everyone see what the upgraded version looks like.
for a while (darn that enter key, I keep sending messages halfway)
jeffer, been enjoying the sunshine? I managed to get a bit of a tan yesterday, lol! : D
oh i see it now thanks. It's almost too easy with those boxes below! (just joking) Is the left box like what the pro's had all along?

where i am, in oregon, we get some nice sun, but very often it's shall we say, not shining.
From now on, the Stats Panel will be viewable for non-Pro users for the first 14 days. And I've decided to give all non-Pro users a free 14 day trial.

Dr_God my mom wants to change her login name, but she wants to know if she can keep her points. is that possible?
It's all wonderful! (except the tininess of the icons)
mo, that's ok - check out norma's - it is more literal.
mo - try lo plus anagram of last cl4/6
Dr God, you're in the chat often enough.. #;) but if someone wants to ask a question (and the other helpful babblers here are stumped) is there a way to post a comment / question for you?
NORMA THANK YOU
Kevin Sorbo is an actor who played a part of a semi-god and that was the only thing I knew
You are quite welome Mo

er, yah
Mari, I've been on this all week and am still 21 words away from fireworks. You get them straight away!!! Congrats :)
Oh dear, Babs, I've been whining about the icons ffor days. I think we will have to get used to them
i have 4 left but i have to dash ...thanks everyone for yur help
no Mab, I totally agree. they're too iddy biddy. : /
babbler, nrkii's icon is a mostly blank one. I'm on firefox too
Dr God said he would sort them out when he could :)
uva
later's Mo : ) yes, I wondered if it were just nrkii's icon
il7/8?
the icons look ok from IE. except for nrkii's icon
anyone else notice problems if you have babble and sudoku open at the same time in tabs?
mine wasn't blank on the old site, but I haven'thad a chance to do anything about it yet here
what kind of problems dinoshadow? (just opened both in tabs now)
script errors with the chat box
smaller, il7...another word for sick plus the 'you ' vowel plus three letter word that means 'by way of' : )
finished!!!
Woot! Go bex! : )
better?
congrats, bex! : D
Well done bex - only 18 to go now :)
better, nrkii : )
smaller, for the 8 add a consonant : )
thanks lola!
yay bex!!!!!!!!!
katie, should I get my pom poms ready?? : D
Hi smaller. il8 is same as il7 with the aditiona of a stick at the end.il7 starts with how you feelk when you aren't well and add to that the fifte and fourth letters from the end of the alphabet followed by the third and first vowels
Lola I'm here till I finish, then I may go for a lap of honour round the garden (the mad neighbours have now gone in!!)
dinoshadow - I'm having trouble scrolling through the chat logs in babble and sudoku, is that what you meant?
nrkii, better! that wouldn't be the Hesper or Luther Little?
lol hetty, "additional stick at the end"!! i love that!! thanks!!
bookwrmish... what are they?
*whispers* katie...I'm waiting for my sister to go to bed so I can sneak outside for a ciggie. I have given up...can you tell?? : )
tall masted schooners that were left to rot near shore in a small village in maine. They were very picturesque.
woo hoo! Lo, I didn't know you'd 'given up'! : )
maine is right, but these are actual passenger schooners (the one I took it from, called Victory Chimes, and the one in the picture, whose name I forget)
are there any words with the x in them?
LOL lola I 'gave up' for years, wore loads of perfume and was always popping to the shops, he probably thought I was up to something much worse. Now single and smoke when I want (though still go to the garden)
nrkii, sounds / looks like a wonderful way to travel!
Babs! shhh! We are supposed to be whispering! : )
amazing!
hehe, ok, Lo *wink* ;D
afternoon all: What great Friday weather!!! Lola are the cigs just as expensive over there over $4 a pack shhh!!
I've gone 4 times past 3 years, and am going again at least once this summer
www.victorychimes.com
As usual my typing is too slow and klutzty. Arthritis, don't you know. Anyway, I'm here for a while to answer requests...this grid semed eaqsyor me because of all the classical, musical and literary terms
LOL!! Speed, they are mega expensive now. Over £5 now!!
speed, they are around £4 here!
what're the first two letters of the niner?
Sadly even that doesn't make me quit
smokes are 4 euro over here
Hello, all. Just checking in, trying to get the hang of the new layout, and how to use (and not use!) the chat log.
hi broll : )
*whispers* Lola are you buying knock off fags, they are about £5.10 a pack now
are they, Lo?? They're about a fiver in Manchester too. Are you sure?
The niner's first two letters are co
contestant - co9/84
ummmmmm...*looks for till receipt from this morning in handbag*...
How do you get back to word entry without putting it in the log, as was happening earlier?
broll, apparently Tab should take you from chatterbox to add word box. (not tried it myself yet)
Broll, just click in the add word box
nope - doesn't work for me...
Hullo, Babbler. When you have some details about the Babbler convention you fellow Brits were all planning yesterday, please let me know so I can send some bons mots
Nor me
hetty, keep an eye on my profile (add me as a friend so it's handy), I will be putting further details at the top. : )#
me neither babs. *whispers* And you are right, they are closer to £5!
Lo, down here in London, in some places, they are a LOT more than that! :o !!
Any hints on co9/84?
Oh, thanks. I finished in the middle of the night (my time) last night, before the site changed. Looks like it shouldn't be a problem, just isn't automatic like it was before. Babble on, all.
co8/65 - A loose deposit of rock debris accumulated through the action of gravity at the base of a cliff or slope. co9 extends on that
Anj, how you doing babe? : )
12 left going to play with fuggles for a bit as he is craving attention, bbl
*lola puts pom poms down*
got it, tanks
...7 to go : ?
Just the seven and unders, now

I'm miserable at this
51 out of 77 to go. lemme get a drink or something
Babber, I already have you as a friend in my friends list, second only to stid, who has now become my wife. Just don't know how to use the list yet
*lola picks up pom poms and shakes them for Anj*
can i please have a clue for the lu5/16 been monkey typing not seeing it Thanks
speed, it should be clear...if you haven't had too many maragaritas tonight! ; )
Hi speed - Queensryche - silent lu...ity : )

Got it right away from that Fish please
For those using Licketys list there is an ea5/14 missing
hetty - heh, neither do I. I just like to see who's online, lol! ;D

cute new interface
Daisy LOL
on tndaisy...that sucks
/me feels dense :s
now I have to go finish cleaning up the mess but will bbs for more help and to finish this thing! only 5 more left anyway
Has anyone figured out how to enter words while working from the earlier chat log? If you have, I'd love guidance-just remember that I have the comnputer savvy of a kumquat. Does anyone remember the Idiot's Guide to VW repair from teh 60's? It began with telling you which end of the car was whch. That's what I need.
woohoo i'm halfway! 38 to go!
oh my god.. i am dense... lima... haha.
eva, lol. i have no idea...
game
eva - you could open a new window? one window with the current babble grid, the other with the entire chat log? does that make sense?
lo 6/24? 2nd one? anyone? please? :)
babbler - it sounds like a lovely idea. How in heaven's name do I do that? I have a Mac.
wassup I need that one as well :)
I don't have a Mac, sorry. : / .... but Dr G does!! is here still here? *looks*
i keep trying the same made up words... :)
command + n, open the old window
gah! *is he still here, I mean.
me too on the lo6/24. anyone?
I just popped in. What's up?
Wassup, Katie, try lo plus c...de sac without the d'sac : )
lo6/24 - first three letters as other lo words. then add last vowel. then add LE
whoo hooo!!!!!! Fireworks!
Ty Ty Ty :)
Dr G, Eva has a Mac related question, (just a few posts back) : )
congrats, wassup! : D
When you click the "View Entire Chat Log" button, it will automatically open up in a new window. No Windows- or Mac-related know-how needed.
hey anj? katies going to catch the train to london with me for the babble convention...can you meet us at king's cross so we don't get lost?? : D
anyone need any clues? i can help for a few minutes
oooh, is that new too, Dr G! didn't notice that before. : )
*peeks in*
Dr G. Yes, it opens up that window, but it replaces the present one-so that I can't enter words at the same time.
Mega is so a word!!!
wassup, i have only one of the h words. i have a 4 letter one.. any clues for the other 2?
perhaps it's only a prefix, Katie; i'm not sure?
katie, i'm laughing because i never even saw that word the whole time!
Dr. G. i have no "view entire chat log" button. but it may be related to my firefox problem of earlier
... gotta tidy the kitchen... bbs : )
Dr G- I'm so sorry! I just checked it out again and realized that they can both be up at the same time....problem solved (never existed to begin with except in my chipmunk brain!)
antinea, there are only 3 h words and they're all 4 letters.
no, Smaller; there isn't one, but i was ale to view the archive for today.....they're all linked to just above here!
okay
ach; where did my 'b' go??? :-P i was 'able' to view.....etc!
ok; who stole my 'b'?
one sounds like the hawaiian dance, but change the u to the 3rd vowel
thanks mikey!!! you're such a sweetie!!
Eva- It will create it on top of the current winow. A cool Mac trick (not sure if there is an equivalent for Windows) is to hit Command-tilde. Or if you are using a recent version of OS X, hit F9.
lol, smaller; that's so sweet of you to say.....but you would know if i'm sweet i suppose.....since you *ate* me!!! :-/
did Anj leave??
Nope just off in Lastland : )
King's Cross? I thought you would come into Liverpool Street...
ant, did you get that one?
yes, thanks! (with a little help of google ;-) )
anj, nope, Kc. And it looks like we'll be collecting punster and movieman on the way! : D
completely off topic (I think).. isn't there a word for the first day of school? Like the day school formally starts? Or the ceremony that is held on that day?
the other one is the same but the last letter is switched to the 3rd vowel
OOOH-the F9 thing is seriously cool! As you can see I donb't know half of what my iBook will do. But the littel windows it creates are way too small for my eyes. can you adjust the preferences to make larger windows?
nice to see you Anj....some thought you were gone and forever lost...................
convocation
GreyWoulf.....i see you lurking in the shadows; so i know you're here! ;-)
wow thanks..
hi all. Any help with al5/14 and lo6/24 (2nd) They're my last two words!
Hi bbnaz : ) No, just off a-wandering...
Eva- I think the size of the windows depends on how many windows you have open at the time. The more you have open, the tinier they have to be to fit them all on the screen. I would try out the Command-tilde thing. It will let you easily flip back and forth between the two Babble pages.
hurshy: kinda, only for schools at every level including grammar school :P
woodchick, the al 5/14 sounds like the stuff that is in citrus a***, but throw an l in there
I'm really embarassed to ask this, but what;s a tilde?
that is the best thing about this new page so far (note the so far) is seeing who is actually playing!
i don't know any other one
Eva: ~
a tilde is the squiggly emblem ~
thanks wassup!
Ah....
Dr_God... I love the new site. My only sadness is that the comments enter automatically when you hit enter. It makes it too easy to make a mistake and type a babble word in here. Otherwise, very much like the changes.
Eva- Squiggly thing next to the "1" key
the lo 6/24 is lo + alternate spelling for cool. (not a real spelling... :)
it's a grapheme, of course!
nrkii- You'll get used to it. Have no fear.
I'm glad you asked that Eva I had no idea either :)
Yay! Fireworks!
dais
way to go woodchick!
nrkii - be afraid, be very afraid. (jk doc)
dr god. I LOVE the new site. I play from my laptop and it's so nice to not have to scroll all the time with the touch pad. :) Thanks!
If you all took Spanish in high-school, you'd know what a tilde was. ;)
see i jsut did it........dagnabbit
let the FIREWORKS begin!!!
ooh ooh, everyone type in dais!!!
guess i need to stay out of the chatterbox.
Dr G-took french and then Hebrew. No tildes. Thanks a lot for the help. Actually I don't want to flip back and forth-that's too unwieldy-having them side by side or overlapping will work I think.
bbnaz, at least it was only a four letter. :)
co7/40?
where you go after highschool smaller
could the stats panel be a little bigger, doc, like it was before?
smaller: co 7/40: the place where you're supposed to learn something
lol smaller...supposed to, is right;)
you learn how to drink alot
Okay, company's coming so I gotta shut off the 'puter. Night everyone!
At last I have fireworks!! very tempted not to ever close them :)
i let mine stay up for like 5 minutes
congrats katie...I know the feeling
nite nrkii
i'm going to go now. any last clues before i go?
any hints on s words? i have none of them..
using a friend's phone line so have to sign off now. Thanks for the help in figuring this out. Haven't quite go it right yet, but will.
hurshy- The Stats Panel is the same size as before. It's just horizontal instead of vertical.
Night Eva
I love the new site Dr G, especially the fireworks, thanks
hmmm.... suppose i'll get used it anyway.
ant, start with a scrambled s*** boat for the 4/4 and then add letters for the 6/21s (there are 2)
Hello everyone!
thanks antinea!
wassup, thanks for all your help
sure, no problem. I'm going to go now. Have a great night. I'll see you at the flip I'm sure!
hi Douglas:)
bye then!
There are expressions of **** for the release of Babble 2.0
anybody need any clues before I go to bed?
going again for a while, need to act like a housewife, but will bbl if he's not home, to give clues
I was thinking that coli might be a word, as in E. coli, but it is irrelevant to dispute with the dictionary
I'd like one. Heh.
wow...this puzzle was rough.....so many really weird words...
Ok going to bed. See you tomorrow :)
doug, there's so many words that _sound_ like english but are unknown, and then so many words that i've never heard before that are okay.. then there's all the dutch, french and latin words that i see.. this is not an easy game
Hi everyone!! Dr_God -- my wife doesn't Babble but she is very impressed with the new look!! Two thumbs up!!
hlee
Hi GreyWoulf -- that is one handsome and adorable little boy you have there :)
oops -- definitely gotta get used to the new style :D
thank you, ch1212 :)
I'm off for the duration unless someone needs a clue or two first
'nite katie : )
The difficulty of the game is one of the attractions
hi douglas! I haven't seen you since I talked you into going pro! : D
Lo, Jenny Lewis is gonna be on Jools Holland (bbc2). (she's in Rilo Kiley) : )
Hello lola!
((**lola**)) -- long time no see!! ---((**Babbler**)) too!
Hi GW! Have you had one of the new squeezy hugs yet?? {{{GW}}} : )
Ooh, I like! :) -- let me try {{**lola**}}
Hey there GW : )
Anyone got a clue for the co6/30 please?
Dr_God, if you're still around, I just had a fleeting thought...make the tile stats so that a bar moves from left to right as you get more words for a given letter, and changes color from red to green as you get more letters.
{{**Anj**}}
I'm getting hopelessly stumped here... :S
Too complex Douglas -- part of the appeal of the site is the simplicity of the tools
Chucky, the boss sez you're takin' a **** in the fifth round, see?
mrp - are you around? did you get my email?
GW...have you done squeezy hugs before?? lol : D
not till today and I consider myself a hug aficianado ;)
(((*GW*))) : )
co6/30, add the opp of good but change the vowel : )
Yes, I can tell you have had some sort of training GW. Or lots of practice! ; )
spellie - a geo term for a water course, common in SW USA (CO6/24
Thanks very Much Lola - that gave me the fireworks - very neat
My motto in college was that Hugs are the true universal language
can anyone help with lu5/16 please
Spellit, for the co6/30 you need to think of the term that you find completeing time-frame adjectives (such as "medi****") and add it to your two letters
Woot! well done spellit : )
Babbler -- how are things by you?
Yvo, it means clear : )
yo
Yvo, the lu5 means clear
...can someone explain what all this co6/30 stuff...means? 0_o;
not me
Zwee, the first digit is the length of the word, and the second is it's point value
co6/30...a word begining with co, 6 letters long and with a point score of 30 : )
yo greentoes : )
WOW!! I've been away far too long!!! Hello Everyone!!! {{{{{{{{{{{All}}}}}}}}}}}
It should also be noted that the co 6/30 information is not located here at the main site, but at Babbler's Anonymous
Lola thank you muchly ,got the fireworks really neat
EB!!! {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{EB}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} How are you?? : D
Zwee the co means the letters beginning the sought word, the number means the number of letters in the word, and the numer after the virgule means the number of points the word scores
I can't really stay - I've been travelling for work like crazy & my poor hubby is waiting for dinner....but I couldn't resist stopping in to say hello!!!!!
(plus, he'd like to see me ) tee hee hee!! : )
{({(**EB**)})}
Hey EB {{{EB}}} {{{GW}}} I'm getting quite sentimental now...
Great to see you again! : D
you big mush, Anj!! LOL!!
it's getting like we need to have a babble reunion on here...not a convention : (
(((EB!!)) :D:D:D
I know...I've just been goin' crazy with a new project...
*whispers* EB, it's his birthday...oops! It WAS his birthday yesterday : )
Hi Babs!
We want vehicle to be in the grid, we have a 7:00 assimilation, and we don't want to be late
Happy Birthday to Anj...happy birthday to Anj...happy birthday dear Anj...happy birthday to you!!!
good thanks, GW (sorry for delayed reply - tv and email!). How about yourself and your family? :)

ooh, my birthday cakes don't turn out quite the same with this new chat....
(Sorry Anj!!)
Family are all doing great -- as a matter of fact it is time for me to go eat dinner -- will be back later
hehe, EB broke the chat log!! woo hoooo!! :D:D:D
It was hard to tell, but I believe EasternBlue has a star-bellied sneech for an icon...
hint on ag5/14?
Babbler - I've sent you an email about the convention which I hope to make.
Douglas - you are correct!! (I drew it myself...) I"m a bit behind on themes....
LOL, no worries EB. It will still taste as good, no doubt : D
thanks, Spellit, which go check right now : )
...wossappened to the text wrap?
well - gotta run...I'll try to jump on this weekend if I can...
bye all {{{{{{{{{Hugs!!}}}}}}
easternblue's ascii "art" killed it
The story of the sneeches is a great story for inoculating against peer pressure, especially in the days where the current teenage whine is "But Mom, EVERYBODY is getting a tattoo!"
Me too...feel the need for a read and a cuppa : ) Laters all.
sorry... : ( *slinks back out of the babble game*
bye!!!
easternblue: no hard feelings :)
awww ((EB)) not to worry, honey :' )
agmaghmx
d'oh, wrong text box :)
laters, Anj : ) watch Pearl Jam on Jools Holland, if you're in the mood.
Anj, I confess to flag ignorance, what country are you Babbling from?
grrr... the only ag5/14's I can find are nonsense
ag plus double vowels : )
anj is the red cross?
do double vowels raise point value?
ag pluss double vowel with the first letter of my name in the middle : )
well, now I know :)

hi everyone! any clues for the il7,44 and il8,60?
laic
greentoes, one of the features of Babble 2.0 is laser beams disintigrating anyone who gives words directly...
I didn't mean to i was in the wrong box and I haven't disentigrated yet haha
time for me to call it a night, 'bye everyone : )
replied Spellit : )
{lola100}
time for me to go too. Nite Lola : ) g'night everybody : )
Pleasant regenerative period, Babbler
nice one, Douglas! : )
wow! Very nice Dr. G!
any clues for el6,30?
are there new rules to this new game today? not understanding the stats
The rules are unchanged as far as I know
Thanks Douglas
shirin: el + upside donw n + latin for "path"
Thanks, tndaisy1960
:)
great clue tndaisy
ty; I heard it earlier from elsewhere
evening all
thank you tndaisy!
hi Sheryl
tiny little puzzle today, I see, usually that means a hard one, lol
hey ty
It's a geological term
correct assumption Sheryl! you learn fast
Hi everyone, Is there anyway I can get back to the old game, I am finding this version hard to get used to. Also is there a button to push to hide the icons?
hey peri
don't think there is any going back now, not sure about the hide icon thing
peri, I dont think you can do either of those
no, dr g switched it over today
You can still hide the whole chat log though.
"It's *****! It's *****!"
The icons are nice but I find them to be distracting a lot of the time and liked having the option of not having them.
What is the purpose of My Friends.
Useless bunch they are
My Word List font size is a bit too small for my bad eyes. I will tell God that.
so that if you want to see if someone special is online or not
I agree sushi
Who's Online reports 147 Babblers
I thought that was what the "who's Online button was for
I want endive to be in the grid
well..yes...I guess it is a bit redundant, now that I think about it...
Anyone have a hint for the second m? I've already got the me4/5.
If you can hear me God - make the FONT bigger.
I want "idic" to be in the dictionary, even though we have not yet assimilated the Vulcans...
Zwee, a powerful wizard
zwee, the m word rhymes with Bob Seeger's Tun the ****
...I can't believe I didn't see that. And I'm an avid player of WoW...what a d'oh! moment. :D
passes Zwee some fish w/ tartar sauce:)
Zwee can you give me a hint to the other m word
May I have a hint for the 9 letter word
peri, it starts with co? :)
cole
sorry
any clues on the si6,21s?
sharin a kind of acid
luch
peri: co +double stick letters + upside down n + latin for path + stick letter
greentoes, used with a pe, synonymous with helter-skelter
I had to spell it cuz I have NO idea what it means
A loose deposit of rock debris accumulated through the action of gravity at the base of a cliff or slope.
Not that that helps...
tndaisy, don't know the latin word for path
google it:) I think that works...
you'll go "slap" when u see it I'm sure
peri, the 9 letter word begins like the 7letter word but after the double sticks you have the last 2 letters before x in the alphabet followed by the third and then the first vowel. Alleluia! then add a stic and take it off again for the co8
hetty, I LOVE your icon!
the latin word that is...not that 9 word...that thing is awful!\
peri, the Latin word for path is often used in giving directions---you drive to Phoenix *** San Francisco
hetty and tndaisy, thanks, found the 8 and 9 letter words
thanks for helping with that, Hetty...I'm being confusational, as usual
Thanks, Shutter. My earier prcture of self with dog was a wash out.I chose this replacement because it's my favourite colour, and also because as you may have noticed I like to sing
what does the other 8 start with please
I Just like to play music.
Starting exhaustive search for the second fu 4 word, or as you humans sometimes call it, monkey typing time...
il, peri
The other 8 starts with "il"
and to me, it's just as nasty as the other one
. . .but it ends in the same way as the first 8! Just replace co with il
clues for the UL5.14 pls
Douglas, the second fu word is what you are when you've just finished eating
"There is a theory that states that if a group of monkeys are allowed to type forever, one of them will eventually produce the entire script of Hamlet. However, this theory is false, as all they managed to produce was the programming code for Microsoft Windows." *grin*
Exhaustive search revealed A genus of tough, leathery seaweeds, usually of a dull brownish green color; rockweed.
The ul5 ends with second vowel, arches, and first vowel
douglas - IDIC, definitely :)
okay that would help Zwee if I knew what you ment by helter-skelter
so nice to have someone else around who knows what that is :)
TY hetty
thanks found the 8 and a 7
greentoes: also means chaos, pandemonium.
oh and douglas - gave my precalc students a quiz today and the bonus question was "Is there any such thing as the Vulcan Death Grip? (2 points) - 10 points if you can explain how we know."
If you think about it, IDIC is the most concise definition of chaos theory you will ever find :)
especially when applied to fractals
When I was in high school, I had the pleasure of reading the story "Inflexible Logic" by Russell Maloney, a story about the whole "monkeys typing Shakespeare" bit. In the story, the monkeys were turning out vast amounts of outstanding material, and one of the scientists shot the other to prevent the results from being published.
any clues for si 6, 21? both of them
I'll have to find that one then, Douglas. Heh heh.
hurshy, how are your students possibly supposed to know there is no Vulcan Death Grip? Is there any channel where TOS is being aired?
av6 anyone
shirin - one of them is an acid
Classic trek is being rerun on G4 TV on cable as Trek 2.O complete with running commentary and running stats
yeah, that's it, G4. :)
anyway it's a 50-50 shot for 2 points :)
I am really glad that the Oops is gone.
me too peri! :)
So how many even tried to answer, hursh?
And me three!
FOUR!
Is G4 a national channel, or local?
I don't know Douglas
national I think....
national, but maybe not all cable packages are carrying it
Hi GW, I know that your icon must be Sebastian, but it is really small. Do you have a bigger one on Babblers Anon. Did you get the full time position?
let me see i don't know how many tried to answer, i must look
Hi peri -- I haven't been made permanent yet, but any day now
Comcast does have it in Minnesota, but I'm going to have to make arrangements to upgrade my cable service...
ONLY ONE!
GW, I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
looks like i need to teach them about Star Trek, logic, statistics, and common sense.
in the next 3 weeks.
evening everyone -- can someone help me with the 9 letter word. I am afraid my knowledge of latin is non existant so I did not understand the previous clue
thanks peri, got it!
hurshy, what is your icon, it is hard to see
As for pics of Sebastian, I sent some to swmbo to post but I think she has been too busy to get to them yet.
am finding this grid to be very hard
aknitter
I can't find the other M
A loose deposit of rock debris accumulated through the action of gravity at the base of a cliff or slope. thats the def
for the nine letter word
Any clues as to what the si acid does/ is?
peri - it's graffiti of swiss cheese.
there was no way i was gonna try and give a clue for that one, lol
I am having trouble myself, peri
There are no broadcasts of Earth: Final Conflict in Minnesota... : (
ty sheryl -- there was no way i would have found that. Gotta love google
works for me
not been playing very long but only have 32 words, will play a little longer
its is a tough puzzle peri
i only have 37 words so far
help with the M word bitte?
these 77 words are painful -- i like bigger puzzles there is more of a chance I will trip over the words LOL
me too!!!!!
mab? are you here?
I have 48 but it is rough going
dr god probably gave us the small puzzle because of going live with the new version today
ma 4/7 -- a magician or sorcerer. It is a nickname for margaret
si6 acid comes from Greek saliva - we all have it in our bodies
lol I sat here for several minutes before I even FOUND a word this morning, that's how bad it was for me. and then I just wrote them down and didn't post them at first...was afraid I couldn't finish, but I finally did
douglas, GW, look, it's lds! :)
way to go daisy
greek saliva? is that different than italian saliva?
Hello lds!
any clues for the al5, 14?
hello doug
Hey lds!
Hey - greetings from Hawai'i, where it's raiding
and you have a cold
av6/30 anyone
raining, as usual for Hilo HI
LOL
mab? you here?
hello there lds!
the av builds on the 4 before it not out but
peri, it is the same as the av4 +3rd vowel and a consanant
I want "lolo" to be in the grid, as in the Don Ho classic "Who is the lolo who stole my pakololo?"
shirin and Sheryl thanks
gl7,48?
lol funny doug
taking a break, may be back, if not see you all tomorrow
Hi peri, how long has it been up and running, i have been sat here like an idiot waiting for it to work, didn't think of refreshing it
not up to the g's yet sorry
mab?
Thinking about your question helped me get the gl 5/16
even though it is raining in hawaii is it at least warm? I am waiting to board a plane to Alaska .. I am off to cruise the inner passage and freeze my butt off!
It's what alabaster cities do, undimmed by human tears
never wanted to go to any place cold like that
seen it on tv and thought its beauftiful but my goodness tooooooooooooooooo cold for me
that IS a great line, isn't it, douglas
Indeed!
alaska looks beautiful but my idea of a vacation involves a bathing suit -- not a winter coat. was my husbands idea
i'm all for the bathing suit myself
hurshy, Euclid is in the grid, but not counted as a word...
It IS cold in Hilo today - 70 instead of 75-80
and a margarhita
well, if douglas were in the grid it wouldn't count either!
oh brrr 70 degrees i am sooo sorrhy for you
You'll forgive us if we're slightly less than sympathetic, lds...
it was hot here in PA -- 79 -- too bad I missed most of it while at work
or 2 or 3 not the pansy strawberry ones, the real lime ones yummy
i am looking forward to high 30s and 40's!
I WANT SUNSHINE!!
high 30's and 40's where are you?
aknitter - make sure to take some pics to share with us
clad
mab, mab, mab, looking for mab
All us warm folks better quit pickin on the cold ones or they'll hunt us down and kill us! lol
i will use some of my photos as my icon .. me knitting on a glacier, me wearing my winter coat and knit hat ...
Hey, if your gonna give out words, atleast give me ones that I dont have yet! LOL!
lds used a word ... don't tell anyone!
lol bug:) I thought that earlier today
*sneak sneak* andy12489! are you home now? I've missed your babbling!!!! (((hi again all)))
While the lasers did momentarily power up, lds was commenting on something else when he gave a word
In this new system, when the box turns grey, what does that mean? All the letters in that square have been used?
if anyone would care to drop a word or 2 that I don;t have yet ... i could use all 5 ch 5's
that's right godthaab
the first ch is the clay "pet" they always try to well at x-mas time...
It means all the words starting with that letter have been found...it did that in the previous version
wow mama...like the icon, now that I actually have time to look at something besides letters!
;-) thanks. thought since I was done I
So then how come the "i" was grey when I had not entered any of the si words, leading me to believe that the "i" had been used up?
ch 5/20 is an herb
I'd dress up.... dumb enter key
You humans must find the first ch most popular, as we encounter it many many times as we monitor your transmissions
yeah, I need to trim my nails to keep my pinkie from hitting the thing
ch 5/16 is spicy hot
Ah, Doug, now I get it.
mmmm....wish I had some ch 5/16....
in 6/21?
erg. 5/16 is young human; 5/14 is spicy
sorry if I gave a word - I don't know which word! Greek word for saliva is si6, that's al;l I said
lol I was just following you:)
oh smack me with the ch fish of obviousness, could those have been any easier? Why is this grid so hard today>
any clues for il7, 8? please
Can someone tell me just one word plz

Roxy, we are giving cl**s all the time!
thank you very much!

In "Prince Caspian" by C. S. Lewis, someone (Glenstorm the centaur?) says to Prince Caspian, "Why else does your Majesty go **** in mail and girt with sword?"
thanx
gl 5: the shine in an expectant parent's eye...
Bob Dylan sang "...I just wouldn't have a ****, if not for you."
douglas, i love you
il 7/8: double the consonant, then end like el 6/30
I kept trying to enter the toothpaste brand ..
Roxyqueen -- lds mentioned a word @ 7:24 (not that I am squealing)
lol I did that too tor

The feeling is mucilage, hurshy

I'm even worse when I'm in manic mode...half doing 6 things at once
and none of them well
hurshy -- what was that cl** you gave for the gl 7? something about a tropical flower?
gl + pretty tropical flower - r
susan gl+4th vowel to ch4, 7
yw shirin (told you i'd be slow...)

I wondered what that meant, Sheryl! ty

I obviously don't understand this game, you guys are talking in code. ~_~; what's all this "di 7/56" stuff mean? :D
11 words and just 66 to go!!!!
dicollege
i was thinking how fun it would be to really have "theme" grids... a HP grid with "troll" and "warts" and "lightning"...
But happy to be...
piperb?
stidmama, are you DONE already?
here's one wart!!!
oops :(
no trolls. under any circumstances. please.
RRRREEEEEENNNNNNNFFFFIIIIEEEELLLLLLDDDDD!!!!! !!!!
JB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!1
oooh renfield! you startled me!
I'd rather have trolls where we can see them and confine them, as in the grid....
di7/56 = Starts with "di", 7 letters, 56 points
hahahahaha...so i'm a startling wart! groooooovvvvyyyy
I'm flying on chocolate, espresso, and very little sleep, so I'm getting Babble out of my system earlier.
Hi! I'm back!
That you are, ren!
whats a troll
Was there a troll today, hurshy?
Heya rennie!
Myriad, the letters refer to the starting letter(s) of the word, the first of the two numbers refer to the length of the word, and the second refers to the point value of the word.
oh I see :D thank you
di 7/56: i don't want to di***** that info....
oh, not that i know of... but i think if there had been i would have cracked.
torg! moving to montana soon.......
is anyone else having to scroll left and right to read the full lines in the log? it just started for me...

Please, can he? He'll be good!
hi everyone....
*sigh* yes, son, until Daddy gets home and dinner is ready...
Daddy does dinner? Hey, can I invite myself over?
Roxyqueen, it is a point of etiquette not to give words directly. Besides, the new version sends electric shocks by means of Power over Ethernet.
Danke Mutti!
what's for supper stid????
torgone, I didn't call any particular person old.... but if you want to wear that label LOL

Good news, folks. Big icons have arrived! The next time you change your icon, a big version will be used on your profile page. So no more squinting and wondering what everyone's little icon is. ;)
It means you've found 28 of the 42 four-letter words, likewise for the longer words
actually, all newbies, take a look at Angelsong's REsource Page, listed in the friends of Babble at the bottom of the page. she has lots of great info there.
YAY! Dr G!
ty dr god
Dr_God speaks!

Stevie-O, this puzzle is rife, lousy, riddled, laden with obscure words
Happy babbling folks. See y'all in a bit....
later, Charm
I thought the ag 4 was a little unfair, to be honest.
It is flashing when it updates the chat log, besides that, it is working fine! It might be because of the version of firefox
I use.
Wooo fireworks at last
okay, that's been a common problem with Linux...
YAY Tigereye!

GREAT JOB TIGEREYE!

hi dr god i got ur e-mail 2day
shirin, the al 5/14 is a highly obscure word...
hmm; my system resources *are* running a little low......so i'm wondering if this machine of mine just needs a good reboot, to fix this problem? :-P
great clue stidmama
as are many babble words douglas
douglas - your lo hint would be lovely for me... too bad i didn't need it
love that feature congratulations you have compelted the puzzle and a bunch of fireworks going off
Oh great Dr_God, somewhere along the line, it would be great to have a page where there are suggestions for additions to and deletions from the dictionary
trying to think of another still not completely obvious assist.... a small niche in a wall is an al****. drop the ove and add the opposite of ego
that must me new because last night i didn't get the fireworks unless i closed the window to soon.
There is a word bee's live in it
Douglas- I don't really control the dictionary. Babble uses the Enable dictionary.
hi dr god
Did you play on the beta last night Sheryl?
that me all done, anyone want a clue
3 stinky words to find.........grrrrrrr
doc - i'm ever so fond of you.
Roxy - There's another word - drunks live in it ..
YAY Sheryl!
yup played the beta, figured i should get used to it
thank you, I got it, finally. Why does this thing say I need one more word when I have 77 already?
ty stid
you probably closed the window too fast, like you said.

Welcome to California real estate mab ..
The plural of "The uppermost and widest of the three bones constituting either of the lateral halves of the pelvis." is in the pelvis. I have seen this in crosswords. D'oh
Yes, hurshy, you had a thought? Did you enjoy it? (from Desk Set) ;D
mab mab i thought of something (why does this log have to move so darn fast so mab doesn't see my posts???)
oops still the beanie baby
oh, i love the red coat she wears in that movie!
just refresh. They're pretty!
the only words i have, have only got 4 letters in dem
oh yes!
That means the il word starting in the upper left corner is either 5, 7 or 8 letters long...
i wish i could get one just like it.
Not that that helps...
yay. i'm all the way up to 19 words
douglas, there are 2, a 7 and an 8
Roxy - ch5/16 = a young person
Roxy, keep working you'll get there!
My wife informs me that I'm a lot like the Katherine Hepburn character in that movie, in that I associate many things with many other things...
She had all those high collars in that film. I love that.
thanx u guys
well good nite all
happy babbling and i will see you all on the morrow
okay, I'm going to go play with my icon and see what I can cobble together... brb (good night Sheryl)
nite stid
Wow, sounds like you have match made in heaven, Douglas, if you both can make Hepburn referencces and understand each other.
Tis' most maddening that illega is in the grid, but not illegal
Babbling is always happy Sher ..ttfn ..

Yes
I dont know what you mean?

How do designate someone as your friend?
oops, wrong box

Well, goodbye roxy!
thanks!
Inw hich language is that a word?
no idea
hello, i'm back
anyone have a clue for the 3rd F word? I have f4/10 and f4/8 already
Dr_God, how do you designate someone as your friend?
Oh, no, it's Woodhood again! err I mean, wb Woodhood
Oh, no, it's Woodhood again! err I mean, wb Woodhood
Oh, no, it's Woodhood again! err I mean, wb Woodhood
Oh, no, it's Woodhood again! err I mean, wb Woodhood
Oh, no, it's Woodhood again! err I mean, wb Woody
Oh, no, it's Woodhood again! err I mean, wb Woody
Oh, no, it's Woodhood again! I mean, Wb
Oh, no, it's Woodhood again! I mean, wb
what the hell
I think the chat handling's got a bug
You're not the 1st one that's happened to stevie
FranMag, it's A genus of tough, leathery seaweeds, usually of a dull brownish green color; rockweed
I wish I didn't suck so bad at this. I'm a decent speaker and writer, but this is insanely difficult.
now now...this is a hard one anyway
15x4, 2x5, and that's it.
IT GETS EASIER AS YOU DO IT, KICK START.
hilda
yeah it really does
oops
This one seems particularly tough!
Thanks Douglas!
avis should be in the dictionary, as in "rare avis," but it is irrelevant to quarrel with the dictionary
rara avis, you mean :)
lol Douglas...I just heard, in my head...7 of 9...saying that...
Thanks hurshy, yes. I was wondering as I was typing whether it was rare avis or rara avis...
But the dictionary they use here is really bad, no... terrible.
Douglas: are rare avis difficult-to-obtain video files?
well, I redid my icon, refresh to see stidgrant as the parrot "iago" in _Aladdin Junior_
It should be, but it was merely my misspelling...
I thought it was a hard-to-find car rental agency?
how many word now stidmatt?
Most Babblers are **** solvers of word puzzles in their own write...
lol
clue on ag 5/14 plz...
ag 5/14: a + "happy"
never mind.. just got it..
being really happy
what does '5/14' mean?
being really happy
cursed lag
stevie-o...5 letters...14 points..
it's the number of letters in the word and the score it earns.. i think
What happened? I go away for six days and the entire look of Babble changes!
ah.
One word is a variant spelling of a word meaning to scold mildly so as to correct or improve
i hate this lag on my comp. :D
musicmom! are you back already? or did you find a wifi connection?
stidmama..how about al 5/14 instead?
al 5/14: al + spanish poem el ***
musicmom, the creator has been busy giving Babble a major upgrade
I'm back! We pulled in about 2 hours ago. 4 days in Gatlinburg and today at the Horse Park in Lexington. We had a great time -- b ut it is good to be home.
No wifi connections. We had dial up in the cabin but it was too slow and we were too busy to try to play.
so glad you're here! was your mom surprised?
WOW! Havent' been here since the change. WOW!
Yes she was. Especially when we showed up with the guys and the kids. She was sure it was just going to be Beth and I.
Me either student. It was a surprise for me. But looks like great changes.
Student: Yeah. The new interface is really slick (although the chatbox input needs work)
the only change that is not easy (for me) is the chat box -- too easy for me to forget to move my mouse and click on the "add word" box, and then I hit enter... and..... *blush*
and the best part..... FIREWORKS when you finish!
Cleo was one of the Muses, and the name of an award in advertising...
blush! blush! oh wait... that wasn't a word?
I wondered about that problem stid. It will be me making the mistake right there with you. I'm not playing tonight. Just wanted to check in and see what Dr_God had emailed about.
does anyone have a clue for the co 6/24?
There are fireworks when you finish???
neither fuch or the other, not empty - what is it?
any help with ul 5/14?
I just have to say this... Isn't Grant cute?
yes. very COOL fireworks
Dr. G, I'm still perseverating on the chat box complaints. Could you have it default so that once you hit "enter" in chat it automatically "tabs" you into the add word box--so that every time someone wants to chat, they have to click into the chat box?
ah! the proud big brother! ty son.
barge - rhymes with the capital of Peru
ok..im stump on the al 5/14...sorry stidmama...
Well. I really need to do laundry and get the kids to bed. They are exhausted. I hope to check in and play tomorrow. It's been a long week.
sorry circe co 6/24? there is a co 6/30...
got it thanks!!
Ah, I see Dr. God isn't online. I'll send him acomment. It's probably that we newbies aren't used to this chatting thing, but it has bothered a bunch of us.
welcome home, musicmom. Sweet dreams
okay flerie, try this: al + third letter + third vowel + fourth letter
I have that one Stid - it is the one after tha co 8 and co 9 that I am missing...
Thanks Mom!
oh, of course. In Washington state, there is a large hydroelectic dam, the grand C*****
tnx stidmama..got it.. :)
but CO6/30?
yw
tnx mom!
wooo hoooo! thanks!
good night musicmom, see you tomorrow!
Hello. Who needs clues?
looks like actress newton john... but not
av 6/30 anyone?
{{Jacula}}
av 6/30: av 4 + opposite of out
How are you all enjoying the grid? Did you see our 'find the name' game much earlier?
I saw that, but was too late to play... it was cute!
Stidmama!(((HUGS))) Is that you in your icon?
Well, I learned something...
CO6/30, FU4?
no, it's stidgrant, our younger ch 5...
tnx so much...
A protein found in uncooked egg white that binds to and inactivates biotin. An abundance of ****** in the diet can result in a deficiency of biotin.
what did you learn now Douglas?
:)
fu 4/8 is the opposite of empty
OOh! Just clicked on Stid's profile and see that Dr_God's kept his promise to make the icons bigger there. (Not just in Stid's. LOL)
fu 4/9 ends in third letter + third vowel
Starting exhaustive search for cu 4 word
the other FU4!
cu 4 word.... weed out the ones that aren't it! (that was a cl**)
thanks
yw lds
ch 5/14?
yes, Jacula, isn't that neat? tndaisy switched her icon to a pretty rose she grew!
A cu4/6 often takes place in Canada re young seals. Also, in Scotland re old deer.
ch 5/14: a spicy hot bean dish common in TExas
ch5/14 - ch** con carne, ch** pepper etc.
tnx evryone...
something else I learned last night/this morning (it all runs together) is that if the font is too small, people using firefox can increase the font size by holding down the control key and hitting the =/+ button twice....
I'll have to change my icon. I'm still stuck with the Black Sabbath Tyr logo from days ago! It was the shock of the site change wot dun it!
why oh why can't mghxlnd be a word?
Ah, thanks! In the movie "McClintock," John Wayne's character said that the Honorable Territorial Governor Cuthbert H. Humphrey was a cu 4/6.
Cool Mom!
because stevie *whispers the rest* if it were, we'd have to "silence" you....
it would be worth... 51 points!
yes, we can all have fun with icons again -- even hurshy!
:)
*didn't know you were still here, goddess of the grid*
Stevie-O - You'll have to be content with 84 points for the co9.
i'm not
hurshy, I can't tell what your icon is...
the first cl 4/6 plz...
well then look at my profile silly
84 points??!
click on hurshys profile to see the photo bugger!
cl 4/6: a person wore clothes of immense worth, they were cl** in gold!
Ah, a smart rat that knows the way to the cheese!
If you click on a person's profile, in some cases the icon is bigger. I think it must have to do with the size of the photo before it was resized, since it's not consistent.
co9/84, Stevie - of shale.
will you assimilate that as well Douglas?
it's bc i really wanted a pic of this bridge in my hometown that has the word CHEESE graffiti'd on it. this was the best i could do.
Oh, is that what it is, Hursh? I thought it was someone juggling a piece of cartoon cheese with their feet! *Makes note to see optician on Monday.*
Please understand that the assimilation thing is so not personal. It's just what we do.
hi gang! been away a few days...when did we get a face lift?
LOL
I don't know a lot of words; I flunked out of co7/40
There really are fireworks! Dr. God Rocks!! :) anyone need a clue before I go??
YAY circe!
Co 7/40 is a school
circe...clue for all cl except the last cl 4/6...
I have needed a clue for about 38 years ..
circe, either of the hi4's that aren't where bees live and work would be helpful...
Harp - I see what you mean about icon sizes. I just clicked on Circe's to see if it was a boxing glove or a conker and was no wiser.
just today misstear! the beta was only up for a couple days.
shutterbug: Exactly; I just said I flunked out of it!
Hi, Torg. How's it going? Life & The Grid.
cool...now if I can just find my way around...
Oh, ok, I get it. I was thinking you meant you couldnt find it.
I'm leaving now.
watch out for the chat box, it's really easy to accidently type your words there because I forgot to move the mouse back to the add word box
bye shutterbug
how do you go further back into the log?
hi: The nucleus of a starch grain: or hi + stick + vowel and the other one just changes the last vowel...
I've nearly done that myself a few times, Stid. Avoided it so far, but, no doubt, the time will come...
quitting with 19 word left but, I need to go to bed now.
'Bye Shutterbug.
Misstearweus - click on the icon to the top far right of the mesage box.
Here's an idea for a resource page: I could use a list of the number total/points total for each combination. For example a 6 letter word with a total tile count of 6 would be 18 points, with a total count of 7, it would be 21 points, etc.
<---my icon is still a plum - I never updated as I am still waiting on the next in the series? :)
It's important to know the area through which ducts, nerves, or blood vessels enter and leave a gland or organ, as it is part of the process of assimilating an individual
there is an icon at the top right that looks like a newspaper page. BUT you probably want to open it in a new window or new tab...
or even the mesSage box. Yet again, I say, 'CAN WE HAVE AN EDIT/DELETE BUTTON PLEASE DR_GOD??'
nice, the whole days worth without having to keep clicking...just not fond of new window
I can keep track of the tile points/total points for 5 and 6 letter words, but I get confused by the higher point words.
cl 4 = past tense of clothe
Heya Jac! The grid's not bad. Life keeps chucking new challenges right at my friggin head ..
torgone, my boy is still here...
Torg. ((HUGS)) Life is wont to do that, unfortunately.
{{{understanding the stress of challenges}}}
My boy almost wasn't still here ..
there is a lot of wind, so if stidmatt and I disappear suddenly, you'll know the cable is down somewhere....
Good evening once again -- Seb is fighting sleep but quiet and Kristianna is asleep so now I can hunt for my last 20 :)
*idea* back in a half flash (i hope)
I just figured out how to add someone to "My Friends" You go to "Who's Online" and go to a person and click on "Add To Friends"
Like I was the only person who didn't know that...D'oh!
The "total log" function is still not working in Firefox though. I have to open IE to see it.
harp: try upgrading firefox
I think I just did that.
Took me abit to figure out too, Doug -- I just wish it was linked to the stat page so I could do everyone I consider a friend at once instead of having to rely on catching them while I am on as well
With all due respect to the awesome Dr_God, he is passing the buck on this dictionary thing.
How, Doug?
working with Safari...anyone else complete log grid cutting first few letters of each entry
working with Safari...anyone else complete log grid cutting first few letters of each entry
?
refresh to see both my boys about 12 years ago...
I just found a word that I've never heard of, and dictionary.com doesn't know either. That was a separate complaint from the "add to friends" thing
So if you leave your computer on all day and forget to log off, it will show that you're online, right?
obviously cut out for genius-hood!
I know I upset Dr_G one test day 1 by saying I think the new Babble page is cluttered, but I still haven't changed my opinion. I didn't mind switching between grid and stats., and I preferred the chatlog below the grid. I'm ambivalent about knowing who's online or the 'friends' thingey. The features I do like are the last word (and time) added, the bigger icons (where they work) in profiles, the scrollable word list and the fireworks. However, I do have a gripe about the new word list: I like to save mine and print it out at times when I need to use a stats list. Before you could just save the word list and points values. Now it also saves the ? part as 'look up word', therby using more ink!
Finished for yet another day! I am looking forward to this weekend, big-time.
What's up this weekend, Angel?
I didn't know Grant was once that cute, I thought he was just cute!
fireworks?
YAY angelsong!
stidmama, very, very CUTE!
ty -- they are my best work ever!
this puzzle got me cross-eyed, but not entirely painless
Stid - just looked. That's a smashing photo.
Starting exhaustive search for lu 4 word
Hiya Wolfie!((HUGS)))
when Matthew was little, his eyes were so gorgeous! thick, dark lashes, unusually strong eyebrows... funny little face
doug...think diapers
Doug - any parent is familiar w/lu4 as a brand name of diapers
douglas -- i wish i could "shed some light" on your current word, to make it more "clear" or "transparent"
I'm going to do some cooking just for fun. I'm making homemade potato salad and homemade enchiladas.
tnx circe...how bout 2nd cl 5/18?
Douglas - lu4 word is what a Cockney chap might call a number of nice young ladies. He might say, 'ello my lu**!'
Hey Jac!!
sorry == that was for the 5 -- did you ask for the 4? it's probably what the boys are wearing in that picture, LOL
yum! I'll be right over Angelsong (love enchiladas) -- can I bring sparkling cider or limonada?
Thanks! Yet another word in the dictionary that dictionary.com doesn't know. Grr...anger building...adjusting...you know what I'm going to say...everybody, all together...
Oh, that's a pity! I can't see Seb's latest pic bigger in your profile, Wolfie.
It is irrelvant to quarrel with the dictionary!
irrelevant, even!
point me to a time of day for the loooong co clues? 8 & 9? I'm awful at the lenghty ones
That too!
Douglas, when I first joined the chat roo this early morning some Ebglish Moms were duscussing lu4--apprently it's a name for diapers (if that helps!)
lol yes, 8 of 12...:)
When swmbo has some free time she will post my new pics for me, Jac
Thanks hetty, I have it!
start like the educational institution... ad the ending for the el 6 and 7
hi hetty! what was for dinner tonight?
lo6 & 7?
Ah, diaper brand? Now that is where I, as a UK citizen, have trouble cl4/6ing when it's mostly US folks on the line.
I'm sure I missed it earlier, but does someone have a clue for the second N word? Not 5/12
I don't have any n words yet, FranMag
first three letters of the ni 5, then repeat the vowel
sure, Stidmama..the more, the merrier! I loooove cooking for company.......
Wolfie - the lo words - The normal uterine discharge of blood, tissue, and mucus from the vagina after childbirth.
Those were the first words I got after the Scottish lake.
lo 6 and 7: take the lo 4 and add two vowels for the 6, and then a tall consonant for the 7
Hope no one was eating supper when I posted that! LOL.
be right there, Angelsong! :-)
thank you
yes, Jac, had to spit mine out lol!
Speaking of which, did Tom Cruise actually eat the placenta, or was he just kidding about that?
very slow
very slow website
missyem, I gave some clues for the long ones earlier, but the dear knows what time it was, soI'll repeat them in trhge nest meage. Just have to tell Jac I could have misremembered the nationality of the moms in question--you know cannadians spend their time explaining to the English that they aren't American and to the Americans they aren't English and I havea story to tell abput diapers coming up
GROSS Douglas!!! lol!
the connections are off and on right now iceman -- there are a lot of people babbling to work off the stress of work....
Doug...I wouldn't be surprised AT ALL
Douglas, ni 5/12 sounds like something to do with the ebb and flow of the oceans.
and Stid we had an avocado salad followed by haddock followed by carrot cake.
I just got the ni4...a new word for me...
Jacula, where in the UK are you?
oh yum! (yet again) good thing our dinner is just about ready.... Tom and Grant cooked tonight.
The reason I ask is that I will be in Edinburgh later this month for WWW '06
Thanks for the clue stidmama!
I've already had haggis, and have no need to repeat that experience...
Clue for v word, not v5/18 or v4/7?
missyem, are you still in need?
Anyone have the ni5?
yes, please hetty :)
can some-one pls point me in the right direction for GL7.48 and LO6.24 - not seeing them - TY
I gave the clue at 9:23
both v4 are 7...
Starting exhaustive search for ol 4/4
Douglas - I'm in Worcestershire in England. Haggis is not so bad if you know how to cook and serve it. LOL.
Fran there are 2 v4/7 - va & vi - anagrams
I never found UL5 - clue??
Doug, the ni5 is the ni 4 with an "al "ending
Douglas! margarine!
can't find av 6,30
ol4 is the margarine with a different vowel ending
av 6/30 is elusive... av 4 + opposite of out
Hetty. Hi. What's the diaper story? LOL.
nida
ul 5: ul + large flightless bird - a + last vowel
Tha nks
Okay, missyem, now I have to remember what you ssked for. . the il8 and what else?
Thanks, all!
One of a kind - Did you forget to change from the message to the grid box? No matter. You got the wrong vowel at the end of your word.
silly me, I'm lost in co 8 & co 9 land -- the short ones I can get.....
Even though I would hardly wish to slather a corrosive solution of sulfur trioxide in sulfuric acid on my English muffin
no sorry i typed in the wrong box! my mistake. <blush>
need to go for a while... bbl
Oneofakind - try the 3rd vowel instead of the 1st at the end of your word.
Thanks Torgone, just saw your clue. The chat scrolls so fast!
2 words left need cl4/6 & co6/30 pl
Tara a bit, Stid.
While I'm waiting for missyem, the tory is about my first foray into shopping for a six-month old baby newly arrived in Canada with her two year old sister and her four year old brother and a franic ***old mum. . .to be continued
yw FM ..
lbetterman - cl4/6 - what you are asking for, and anyone else looking for grid words or doing a crossword.
hetty, ty for the offer, but this chat is too crazy to keep up... I'll get through. THANK YOU
I have never heard of the 6/30 word until tonight. I usually use the word "contemporary" instead of the noun form of the co6/30
I'm baaaaaccccckkkk! Dr. Who is To Be Continued to next week. I'm glad they kept the theme song pretty true to the original.
in6?
co6/30 - a contemporary, one of the same era.
i agree missyem...it goes by too fast for me to work a clue
(((((GGGGGGWWWWWWW!}}}}
IN6 - decorative wood .......
misy, co8 and co9 coming up--the longer one adds a stick to the shorter one, which comprises the opening three letters of the educational institution fullowed by the fifth and fourh last letters of thge alphabet followed by a tird and then a first vowel Alleluia!
Jacula, have you ever used co6/30?
Hey JB -- one of the more surreal Dr Who episodes, wouldn't you say?
LO6.24 pls
Douglas - No!
still scractching my head over hetty's clue....
I hate when I find tirds in my yard ..
This chatlog does move rather quickly.
When someone hurts you, you sometimes say ****
Yes, G, kinda creepy!
What did she say anyway?
shit
sorry, wrong box
The reason I ask is because someone might use that word to show how clever they are, as opposed to using it to have someone understand what they're saying.
LadyS - shit isn't in today's grid. LOL.
it is when you suck at this game
But, Jac, would you agree: it's full of it?
ROFL, Lady S
Douglas - I know what you mean.
Hang in there, Lady, you'll get it!
JBS - There's a lot of Latin in it.
still can't get co6/30
<grin> It's all Greek to me, Jac!
My IQ is decreasing by the power of 10 every time I try this. I work 2 to three crosswords ever day and do the NYT daily. This thing makes me feel stoopid.
FranMag, try using an online thesarus and look up "contemporary" I don't know if that will help, but it might...
jetX is in the game
Just checking in to say goodnight all. Looking forward to another short puzzle.
Welcome jetx!
co 6/30 when you are reviewed by two people, they give you a co-----
I feel you tamara. Some days I all but throw my Masters degree in Writing in the toilet.
thanks Douglas
FranMag - your co word sound like 2 very bad people and is an anagram of 'alcove'.
As I was saying, my six-month old had run out of the garment we old moms from England called "nappies", so I duly went to the drug store (which of course I called the chemists) and asked for nappies. There I was sent to the hardware store---imagine! where my request resulted in being shown a box of cute little glass bowls (fruit nappies, I believe they were) which, considering the use to which I wished to put them, were a serious joke. And that, dear listeners, is how I learned to know and to use the term "diaper".
tamara, did you go to Stamford this year?
Nope. I work too many hors to get away.
lol hetty...I can so relate...
hetty, did you have a paddy? (I learned that from scatty last night).
thanks Douglas, got it
GL7.48 anyone?
moving out here to Calif. was like learning another language all over again
Douglas - i think i remember the word co 6/30 from victorian novels
Where did you move from?
Welcome CA, tnd ..
Tennessee...we speak "redneck" there:)
I just got rock rich in silicon and aluminum forming the upper layer of the earth's crust beneath all continental landmasses.
Oh Hetty! LOL. Don't ever go to Australia and ask for 'Durex' or they'll give you a roll of Sellotape (sticky tape). Also, if you talk about 'fags' (cigarettes in UK) or rubbers (erasers in UK) in America, you will be totally misunderstood.
HA! just got he co 6 dagnabbit!
Debra Hamel tries to get as many words as possible without using the chat log. But the chat log is what makes Babble so deliciously addictive, the fast-flowing stream of wordplay
need help on gl 7,48
Who is Debra Hamel?
Hey, tndaisy, where in Tennessee? I lived there for 7 years, and learned how to talk southern, y'all.
gl + tropical flower - r
I agree Douglas...that's why I still sit here, long after finishing...
gl7/48 - One of the minute barbed hairs or bristles on certain plants, such as the prickly pear.
gl7/48 - One of the minute barbed hairs or bristles on certain plants, such as the prickly pear.
I was in Lincoln Co. almost on Ala. line
gl + 4th vowel + ch4/7.
30 miles north of Huntsville
We lived in Elizabethton, Carter County, up in the very northeast corner.
As I've said to you before, Jac--or was it to Haz? we are divided by a common language. Wat I love about babblers is they have no problems communicating in any old lingo
thanks all
Daisy - I finished at 6.50am Babble time. So, I agree!
oh ok I sort of know where that is
lol Jac...we're hopeless
As I sorta know where Huntsville is, LOL!
And did you know, re the minute barbed hairs, that they are etymologically linked to the horror that makes your own nwck airs bristle?
i know it is really cool'
i know it is really cool'
what does '6/30' mean?
Hetty - I think you said ti to both me and Haz. Speaking of Haz., who tried out my Bailey's Cheesecake recipe a while ago on guests, have you tried any of my recipes from BabAnon yet?
LOL, hetty, even your typos add richness to the chat!!!
mmmmm, cheeeesecake.....
Who has cheesecake?
ok, so long has babble been like this? sorry about the multiple posts but my son is showing me how to post a message
Jacula posted a recipe in BabAnon.
Only about 3 days, Onyx.
I like the fireworks
JBS - There is more than one cheesecake recipe in BabAnon. LOL. And more besides.
Hi jacula
hey trhere jac. i don't play too often any more
I'm waiting, dear Jac, for a family occasion I bake or otherwise confect desserts only when my kids and grandkids are here to eat them. But I've copied your lovely recipes for the next family reunion
aaronw, the first number means the number of letters, while the second number means the number of points for the word
Hi JBs
Oh well done, Scatty! Did you just finish?
But I want one now.....Right now.
aldi
www.frappr.com has a neat thing where you can post your location on a map...would be neat if all us babblers did that...Dr G could set up an acct...or any of us, for that matter...and put it somewhere on Babanon...
Glad to hear it, Hetty. I do try and test them first.
I normally declare victory after getting a little more than half the words, but I currently have 62 words, and hope to treat myself to some fireworks tonight.
Hey, Scatty! Look out for tamara, she's on the prowl for cheesecake! Yay for your fireworks!
cool daisy!
I'll check that out!
nevermind. I was trying to answer my spous...*grin* He has to go to the grocery tomorrow!
hi everybody!
Cheesecake?!?!? I'm in!!
Daisy - I had a site like that that I forgot about just before Xmas. Glad to see you have found it.
Temple! I was just going to say that you, GreyWoulf, and me are all in the Philadelphia area.
Hi Temple...sorry entered that phrase twice..."not found in dictionary" grr..
Hi Temple!!
And I'll have youknow miss smartypants JB, that I have arthritis in my fingers (as well as other less mentionable places) which mkes clicking very hrd, specially when I'm excitedly trying to answer QUICKY!
Jac, I haven't seen yours. I got the idea from another group I belong to.
Hi templeOwl
I just went onto frappr and I would like suggestions on what to call us babblers!
si21 x 2 please? pass the cheesecake and the bailey's and I will share my napkins.
Hello, Temple Owl
LOL, hetty! You do quite fine, and I enjoy seeing your posts.
Babbleonians, of course
Douglas, just got back online -- you can do it!
Nuts, stidmatt, just plain nuts. With cheesecake.
LOL, Daisy!!!!!
I need one more E word. It's not e5/14, e4/5, e6/30, or e4/7
in6? I asked earlier, but I think it got lost in the flow
I concede...My eyes have given up for the night...Until tomorrow....Good luck all...
Jacula, yes, i a struggling on c couple of the weird spellings and was determined to find them myself
Okay daisy, password: dictionary?
Grey, decorated wood may have pearl...in6
sorry Woulf! in 6: what the carpenter did to the wood bits when he made the marquetry table
Think of parquet floors, GW...it's a compound word.
sure!
in honor of cinco de mayo - i have a recipe for margarita cheesecake...now i have found a flaw in this system. my screen area is too small for me to chat and babble at the same time : * (
thanks, stidmama
I agree, Temple - this is a case for a wide screen monitor!
if anyone has any suggestions on how to fix that i'd be grateful
I think my screen is 16" - I can see the whole site (still looks cluttered though!)
It is done. http://www.frappr.com/?a=createmap &t=addtogroup&gid=638370&noheader= is the name of our group.
change the resolution on your monitor, TO?
so it must be e7/44, eh franmnag? welll if you have e6/30 all you have to do is add a stick
excellent!
Thanks hetty, don't know why i didn't try that already!
hey everyone! there is a crazy bird outside this window singing away! at 11 pm!
a nightingale?
I now have all the e words, thanks to you FranMag! One of the e words you have is a prefix of the one you don't have.
No, they only sing in Berkeley Square
got it Douglas, thanks to hetty.
That's so weird, stidmatt. I actually created a Frappr for Babble yesterday.
you did? cool, Matthew's link doesn't appear to be working?
Dr_God what,please, is Frappr?
it's very pretty but reminds me of being young aand coming in when the birds were singing...
Hey, stidmatt, cool! I just added myself to the map. Note to Babblers - make sure you copy/paste the WHOLE address!
oh so it's NOT just me that can't make it work...whew!
doc - why is the chatterbox being too wide?
i made a lemn meringue pie the other day, first time the meringue went fluffy
hurshy- Too wide?
I have the il word that's hip, but any suggestions on the other il words would be greatly appreciated...
A frappr is a map that allows you to show where people are from. You can check it out at: http://www.frappr.com/babble
yeah some of us are getting a scroll bar at the bottom
JBs what map
Temple - it's probably a nightingale or a nightjar.
Dr_G -- the log will suddenly be too wide and have to sidescrolling becomes necessary to read it
Dr_G - where will that appear on the site? Hello again, btw. Have you read my views on the new site?
it just happened all of a sudden... at... what time was it...
72 Temple Owl- Definitely change your monitor resolution. Sounds like you're at 800x600. Go to Start > Control Panels > Display and change the resolution to 1024x768.
half an hour ago? an hour ago?
matthew, that link you made gives your email address out -- chich you do NOT have permission to do.
http://www.frappr.com/babble
stidmama, do you remember what time the left right scroll bar started?
Douglas - 2 of the IL words are v. similar to CO 8 &9
i have never seen a nightingale, jacs... hi BTW!
scatty - what they are talking about: frappr. I've never seen it before.
I mentioned it in the log, but it was better for a while and then just now got weird again....
Could be a mockingbird...
no, it is the lark...
Got all the s words... Woo-hoo, woot, and other expressions of satisfaction
Okay, I'm going to dive into the grid and see if I can get fireworks tonight.
cool stidmatt! and you too, Douglas!!
and me! i'm lurking!
we have many mockingbirds....just have never heard birdsong at night before!
i think it's humming, actually...
the last LO6.24 pls
Only 8 words to go. 1 A word, 3 L words and 4 C words.
you go, JB! *tosses mocha bon-bons in the air*
Hey LA -- gonna be hard to do now, what with the who's online button and all :)
i know! that's why i had to announce myself before someone else called me out :)
Ok. I fixed the chat log glitch. From now on it shouldn't grow too wide.
GW! My grandparents lived in lansdale!!!
JBs, what i can gather from scrolling down and reading the messages, there is a map that we are doing something with , god knows ( literally)
Hurshy - are you going all Shakesperian on us? 'T'was the nightingale and not the lark that pierced the fearful hollow of thine ear'. Actually, when I first heard that line I though Romeo must have horrible waxy ears! LOL.
*catches one bon-bon in mouth - six more in left eye* ou4/7!
I'll trade you an A word for a U word, FranMag...what a words are you missing
I'm a new import here, missyem -- only here a little over a year
That's right, scatty - (Dr)_God knows where you are!
such a small world.... they moved to FLA in the late 80s
Tor! Stop snatching my bon bons!
douglas - the U ends in 2 letters for your mother
I don't have pro so I don't know how long, but it's not 4/6, 5/14, 4/8 or 6/30
which U word do you need Douglas?
i was going shakespeare, but if it makes you feel better, jac, i'll go data-commenting-on-romeo-and-juliet
ul5/14 - Muslim scholars trained in Islam and Islamic law.
cl5/18 please? both of them?
I had this thought it might be that, but I thought "Naah, the dictionary wouldn't have that..."
"ah yes, your shakespeare's commentary on teen suicide"
Dr. G - when you open up the whole chat log for the day, the post times are not visible - anything you can do about that?
what was the other bit, douglas? something and teen suicide
(((((MAMABEAR}}}}}!!!!!!!
Oh, I guess there's only one. It's u + the capital of Peru (spelled differently)
Hursh - I love Shakespeare (or I would have done if he'd really looked like Joseph Fiennes).
hi mamabear!
Hi JB!!!!! and everyone!!!!
ok I'm on the map!
{{{**MAMABEAR**}}}
hello mamabear! where have you been hiding? (hibernating?)
{{{mamabear}}}
well, who wouldn't in that case jac? :)
There are two a 5/14's. You probably have the happy one, but not the one that's a lot like the movie with Charlton Heston and Sophia Loren. When a guy kills his sweetie's dad, it's bound to put a little stress on the relationship
he's home gtg
I put us on the map, too! Matthew is going to log out and play a real life game of Risk with his sibling and father.... OR ELSE (hint hint)
What was that about, hurshy?
what was what about, torgone? :)
Does that help, FranMag?
Hi Leslie, Stidmama, GW, and everyone!!! Not hibernating - just been very busy! I think I forgot how to Babble!
good night, stidmatt!
So long, stidmatt!
like riding a bike, mama....
not really douglas, but i'll work on it
g'night stidmatt
Teen suicide - a subject I need to learn about ..
thank you dr_God... for fixing the width thing.
di7?
well then read romeo and juliet, tor! :)
hey everyone.wats goin on.
*we cannot di***** that information without killing you, Woulf*
GW, I cannot di***** that information to you.
tor - your comment concerns me!
di 7: reveal, tell, un-secret-fy
thank you stidmama! (again)
How about when it's not because of love?
FranMag, there's an al 5/16, which has the same ending as a number of other words in the puzzle.
....concerned even more.....
Yeah, MB, well, his stealing my mocha bon bons (thanks stidmama!) is bothering ME!
tor???
Does that help, FranMag?
oooh they're mocha?
Thanks to FranMag, I now have all the u words, with 12 words left...
go Douglas go!
stidmama, what's the magic drink again? Yes, LAnn - MOCHA!
Just got the last v word, 11 words left...
torgone... is there something we should know? we may joke here, but we do care.
mmmm mocha
magic drink is: mochajavachocolatte!
Finished1 Very Excellent fireworks!
congrats!!
YAY godthaab
lucia isn't in the dictionary...
Where the heck is the Babble map? Soory. Coming and going at present as other half has just got up for work.
check it out Jac!
http://www.frappr.com/babble
is tor gone ?
sorry, darn enter button again
the online tab shows him still logged in...
did you change the last letter on that one, douglas?
Ah, thanks, that makes things clear!
lol :)
Sorry .. Not a subject for here .. "attempted" should be in there somewhere .. It's okay right now ..
I've just tried to frapp myself onto a map and succeeded only in losing the map. Help, Dr_God. I'll try again another day.
el 6/7 combo?
maybe you are too far north in canada, hetty, it doesn't look like it has all of the country. what are the british folks to do?
In the play "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown," Charlie Brown confesses to therapist Lucy "I'm not very ***** or clever..."
OK tor, but you know we are always here for you (*Hug*)
(((((((torgone)))))))))
{{torgone}}
I just got the ni5...9 words to go...antici....pation building...
Thanks, stidmama, I wrote the name down this time!
LeslieAnn each of those is one hell*** clue. Take the "h" off, ake one of the sticks away, and add the ending of "alleluia". Then put a stick baclk on the end for the longer word
I was despairing as to how I could give a clue for that word without giving it away...
torgone...i just sent you an email...i think?
you know, JB, it's only in my mind so far -- the inventing hasn't acutally happened happened yet...
Ooooo.... beta site now regular site. Hello!
Starting exhaustive search on gl 4/7
Frappr will make planning Babbler gathers a lot easier if enough of us actually register :)
but I do know the main ingredients are chocolate and good espresso, toppings are supposed to be: whipped cream, maraschino cherries, almond slivers, cinnamon sprinkles and chocolate shavings....
Just got the last A word. I can't believe I missed that one. Thanks Douglas!
Yes, stidmama, but good things come to those who wait!
did i, torgone?
Hi Knutmeg! ***Liv*** (who is in the grid today)
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm (slight drool)
Douglas, it will stick to you like ****.
I did see her in the grid. I also am in the grid (lower left hand corner) its family grid day for us!
Found it before the exhaustive search got really underway...
FIreworks!!!
Thanks, FranMag!
:-)
YAY misstearweus!
Congratulations, Misstearweus!
hurshy, you have the honor of being my first Babble Friend...
and the count now, Douglas?
love the big graphics in our profiles!!
that is an added bonus...thx!
I need 3 more L words and 4 more C words.
oh *blush*
which l's?
AL5.14 ? TY
i found the map but couldn't put a flag where i live, i'm not very god with computers
My Friends list is almost as long as the Online list ;D
8 words left...I need three i words, two l words, and two c words...
i can't even spell now
lynxxx, Douglas gave a clue below
lynxx...think the chemical that burns you...but insert l
mine too, Woulf! ;-) or maybe I'm just delusional?
The three longer il words, to be precise
misstear -- that was the best cl** for that word I've seen all day
douglas which c words are you missing
il 5: the il 5 and the odyssey
Nah -- we are just proving that we are some of the core addicts in the group, stidmama
douglas, the il7 and8, the el 6 and 7, and the long co's, are all alike in their endings.
il 6/7: like the el 6/7
TY MISSTEAR....
Oh! Greywoulf, your baby is cute!
Checking...that's something Dr_God could do in his spare time...make a thing that tells you what words you're missing for a given letter
sorry misstearweus, I don't know the lengths, I don't have Pro
does anyone else find it punny that my cat is trying to play with my mouse?
I have all the ch words...
*giggle hurshy* yes, that is funny!
Thank you, knutmeg -- yours is adorable as well :)
douglas - you do know about the list, right?
I'm missing a cl word...
Yes, I'm going back and forth between my word list and the the list of all words
Douglas needs a cl**.... ;-)
So, where is this map? Still can't find it.
there are two cl 5 that are identical except for the last vowel
the cl5's are same except last letter
For the cl 6/30, to be precise
the cl6 is like the mom on the waltons except first letter
http://www.frappr.com/babble is the map, Jacula, appears to show only the US though... :-(
www.frappr.com/babble
la4/5 put something down, la4/7 comes out of volcano, but change last vowel, la 4/7 short word for the airplane bathrooms, li4/6 what your dog does to you but end with letter 3 letters up in alphabet
missing 3 -- all c's cl5/18 cl6/30 co6/24
douglas, think a hole in a hill , big hole, underground
cl 5/18: a short form for a piano-like instrument
cl 6: Knutmeg's baby's name, only change out her o for a c
torgone - i'm sorry, i hope i sent you an email, though i don't know if it was you, but i can't stay to find out, i have to get to bed. (((torgone)))
la4/5, relating to the lay people, la5/14 add a cons
la4/5, relating to the lay people, la5/14 add a cons
co 6.24: Grand Co**** Dam in Washington State
douglas do you have the first cl5/18, if so , chane the last letter (3rd vowel
good night hurshy... see you tomorrow.
Got it! I didn't know the Mom on the Waltons, so I looked it up...like I was going to know that!
well i like star trek, and you like star trek, and i like the waltons, so i figured...
i don't have any of the long ones... il 7/8?
I still have one c left...
i think this new setup has made me dumber.
night all :)
g'night hursh
not possible LeslieAnn!
got both c4/5's Douglas?
stidmama, if you look at the arrows on the left of the screen ( map page ) it takes you round the world
got both c4/5's Douglas?
*Grin* My baby is a clue. (slow responding, at MIL's for the night, distractions abound, in the form of three puppies)
but seriously has anyone else had this problem? it's taking me lots more time to find words with the new setup
I meant.... *foot in mouth* it's happening to all of us! feeling dumber, that is...
I need the c 4/5s miss
it takes me more time because it's easier to chat... am considering turning off the chat sometimes so I can focus....
Thanks to all! I have all the c's, 6 words left...
co4/5 another word for the springs in your bed
co4/5 Nat King Co**
LOL, stidmama!!!! I was wondering...about your comment to LAnn!
lol... all in good-natured fun :)
Thank you much stidmama -- I have fireworks!!!!!
Thanks Miss, i guess I had the second one!
YAY Woulf!!! (and Sebastian)
Really stuck on LO6.24 (the last of the LOs) - pls
congrats Grey!
well done woulf
{{LeslieAnn}} :-)
lo+ the cheap plant in a terracota planter that grows...cheasy commercials too
And Stidmama -- Frappr is global -- you can change the map view with the arrows in the corner of the map screen
LO6/24 lo+ ending of mole**** (a very very small part of something)
3 i, the longer ils, and three 3 L's, one of which is the la4
lo 6/24 lo4+3rd vowel+1st vowel
lynxxx: Douglas' icon is a cl**... as a Borg, Jean-Luc was known as Lo****.... but this one ends like Herc*** Poirot
I have the lo 6/24
la 4: to have lied down... (sorry, best I could think of)
well you brits better get going, us yanks are kicking butt on this map...
the other la 4 that comes very first is the same, different last consonant
I have the past tense of lied down, and the normal uterine discharge
the la 5 ends like the scots word for lake and comes between the 4s
hursh - Did you get my reply?
there are two la 4/7, they are also identical except the last letter -- one a vowel, one a consonant
got the one that sounds like your lo*** bar?
leslieAnn, i found the map but i didn't know how to put a flag on it, can you tell me how, plus i think we will catch up in the morning, its 4-35 am so most normal people are tucked up in bed
torgone, hurshy had to go -- she said good night. hope you are going to be okay....
I have the small cavity in an organ
good point scatty. there should be a little box that says "add to map" and you just fill in your name, e-mail and zip code
how about the plural of locus?
there is an li 4 that is just like the lo 4
Thankyou to all for my LO6.24 - finished.
YAY lynxxx
Okay, found the map. Thanks to whomever it was who gave me the address. Doing that knocked me out of Babble and I've had to sign in again.
zip code?
and remember to change it from "guy" (blue) to "girl" (red)
yay lynxxx!
yay lynxxx!
I still do not like the new site. It's cluttered and the chat moves too fast.
zip code .... postal code?
jacula, did you put a flag on
Anyone want anything before I go?
yeah, so it knows where to put your marker
I think the chat is moving really fast, too... Dr_G if you're listening, would it be too hard to put an option for a slower refresh again?
Scatty - Yes, I put me and Paul in Worcs. BTW, a zip code is a postcode.
i put my post code in but still couldn't work out how to get the flag over Oxford
6 words left, brain shut down, good night all, hasta manana
yes lynxxx, I'd like a small order of fries, milkshake, and a double cheeseburger, hold the pickle...
I'm going to zip out for a bit, surf some blogs, etc. I'll be back by the flip, laterz!!
bye meg, liv
lynxxx... I would like a new nectarine tree for the one I am going to have to cut down. :-(
later, knutmeg!
Whoops, my bad, I'm missing the la 5/14
AHA! ADD a letter to the one above it
I clued for the la 5/14 as coming between the two la 4/5, ending like scottish lake....
I'm losing it here. This site really does my head in! Any chance of being able to choose between the old style and the new style site, Dr_G?
il 7/8 combo? i don't have any other long words to compare it to
Got it! And what exactly does that word mean, exactly?
I love this game and I love the chat, but not the way it's done on this new site. Sorry, Jamie, but it's how I feel.
Jacula -- is that you in your icon?
Stid - Yes, that is me.
no bleeping idea, Douglas! LOL
I need two more C words. One 5 letters and one 6 letters.
you look a lot like one of my best friends! :-)
Doug...not sure...but almost sounds like something I'd say when something tastes nasty...
Leslie, if you have the two longer CO words, they are similar.
Wikipedia sez they're tree frog eggs
i don't
Damn! Keep scrolling DOWN the chatlog to answer!
Stid - Do I?
I now have all the la words
me to, just need two C words
oh dear...you have more l words Doug!
I'm missing one of the li words
yes -- pleasant smile, light brown hair, same eyebrows, from what I can tell -- and you're a good cook!
li + same end as scottish lake
li 4/6 sounds like what your dog does...li4/7 opposite of die
li4 - all what's already been said, although the true meaning is an archaic word for 'corpse'.
the frogs and birds are chattering a lot right now -- the wind has died down for the moment, and I think they're making up for lost time!
Got it, but boy, is that one obscure word...
si 6 words anyone?
si + first vowel + ***k an ice cream cone, drop the k. change last letter for other
si 6: add the third vowel, then a consonant (the consonants are next to each other in the alphabet)
Sorry to get so quiet, but I am fighting off a headache -- I'll be lurking a bit but not very talkative
I'm missing the lo 7/36, which simply must have the lo 4/6 as a prefix, yes?
oh Woulf! I hope you're not dehydrated -- it always happens to me in warm weather...
si + a* Bundy from 'Married With Children' + first person + 1st vowel.
lo 7 add the tall consonant to the lo 6
Cheerio everyone! Off to watch old shows on TV Land...
Bye misstearweus!
bye misstear
Wolfie - I've been the same since about midday here in UK. I believe thunderstorms are predicted here tomorrow.
maybe I'll learn some new words...
You know -- I haven't had as much fluid intake today as I normally do --- let me go fix that now :)
I tried adding a d... D'oh! Thanks, stidmama...
ah! the wind is back....
I now have all the l words...all I need is il 5, il 7 and il 8
I've wanted illegal to be a word all night...
Oh! Just got a huge deja vu there with Wolfie's last post. No, not being sarky or anything. The sounds gone 'all funny' like it does when I've been somewhere before, too. How weird!
il 5: the il 5 and the odyssey
il + third vowel + first vowel + consonant
il 7 and 8 are like the el 6 and 7...
or co 8 and 9
I wasn't expecting the il 5 to be in the dictionary...
I know there isn't really any sound on Babble, but I hear people's voice in my head.
thanks for the help with the si 6 words...those were strange ones.
you want to admit that jac ? ;)
Yea! I can guess what comments will be made now. LOL.
i give up, i have tried to put my flag on Oxford 4 times, god knows what i'm doing wrong,i will try again when i get up, nighty night everyone
thunderstorms and weather changes always affect both my mood and the "feelings" I have; comments, Jacula? *whispers whispers whispers*
I'm about to type in the last letter of the last word...
good night scatty! see you tomorrow
Scatty! I thought you had just got up! Have a good sleep then. See you soon.((HUGS)))x
any idea what C words I'm missing?
*anticipatory silence for Douglas*
don't worry about it jacula, it must be night owls like us, i can har you lot talking as well
Woo-hoo, Woot, and many thanks to all!
YAY Douglas!
brb phone
Well done, Douglas. No point in saying *~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR DOUGLAS*~*~*~* now, I guess?
I'm at 40 words now, and trying to finish before being scooted off to bed!
Scatty - thank God for that! Sleep well.
of course there is!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*FIREWORKS FOR DOUGLAS~*~*~*~*~*~*

Hi everyone! Just received fireworks for the first time. It's been so long since I played babble. (Long story) but before I go, wanted to say hi to long lost friendly faces Jacula, Greywoulf, Mamabear, and Torgone... It's been a long time, glad to see you are all still here. Good Night!
Night, GW! Think of me, I'm at 51 words, and may have to give it up for the night.
Night Wolfie. (((BIG HUGS)))xx
yes, kimber
g'night woulf
Yay jen!!!
other lo 6/24 is lo + mole****
Good night all, this was my first time to play babble and I think I'm addicted! Have to make dinner now.
Jenwould - You have not been forgotten. Lovely to hear from you again. Hope to see more of you soon. WELL DONE for finishing.xx
bye fran! welcome to the nuthouse!
Oh my god i don't know any of those, i think my husband would though.
Jewhiz - Unless Jamie has a posting partner or he cloned himself, he was up and awake for a very long time when he did the grid changeover. I guess he's taking some well-earned rest now, even if people like me don't appreciate all of the changes he's made. I can't fault him really, except for when I repeatedly asked for an edit/delete button and he sounded just like my son when he repled, 'You should proof read before you post!' Yea! Like most people do? On chatlogs?
Worked out the pet clue, now it's the other lo. Sorry about my dead brain.
cochia
However, I think with this new site that he's just been a bit too caring and listening and has tried to please everyone. (Not an easy thing to do!) The result (in my eyes) is that he's put every bit of his jewellery on at once.
Sorry wrong box,
Jamie - not talking behind your back, i.e. as not mailing this to you. I am just stating my honest opinion.
Oh well - first time here for over a year I think so I shall have to be happy with just over half in a relatively short time.
Am i in trouble now.
Svet - why? What have you done? It surely couldn't be worse than the worst thing my other half did to me?
On Babble, that is.
I'd left my very last word to find all day, savouring finding it when I finally sat down at the end of the day. He came in from work, went straight onto the computer and informed me, 'I've found your last word!'
i really need help with the 9er
Ok i guess it's not that bad. what did your other half do? It must be bad.
Aargh! He might as well as filled my last crossword clue in or ripped out the last page of my exciting story or book! He's not made that mistake again!
Ha, sorry, that is bad, bad bad.
Yea it is! ROFLOL.
ooooohhhh, fireworks are pretty! that's two days in a row for me - yay!
Ni's anyone? Don't have a clue.

When creating tabs -- how do you enter a name on it?
Pardon, Cyber nan?
lo 6/24: lo + hook letter + y*** log
how do you enter a name on the tab?
Are you on the beta site Jacula?
I don't think you do enter a name on the tab, you are simply who you're logged in as
still 99 pts
I want to creat a tab for the log, but can't figure out how to make it work, or how to name it. I click on control t, enter the url, I get the tab up, but it doesn't link to anything.
It's a java box, you won't get a separate tab
what is a hooker letter?
the letter that is shaped like a hook
letter that stands on streecorners at 3 am. alternately, one that :hooks" visually, in shape.
cybernan - I just bookmarked the site.
ok so it's two hooked letters together? I feel so dumb.
Svet - I'd help yu if I could, but I've just lost patience with the log on this Beta site.
I'd help u too, Svet, but time is running out
co 6/30 the first one?
New Icon time! Its an older one, when Liv was just a few days old, but I'm in it!
I sympathize Jacula -- you should address any problems to Dr. G
ok , perhaps next time, thank you all for the use of your smartness, boo hoo hoo.
Nan - I have been doing so but here on the log rather than by e-mailing.
sorry we couldn't help u

Yay! My first completed puzzle. Whew.
