uh oh. lib, that could be really bad... :)
maybe cuz I'm a mac user?
you're right, wassup, there is a definite feeling of... spring in this grid
thanks lickety

oops -- don't have time for this one -- good night everyone -- happy babbling... see you in 7 weeks :)
g'night!
bye cybernan - thanks for your help
bye-bye nan
helenkeller--I was rebooting while the flip occured...
"DROW" isn't a word? On behalf of all tolkinen lovers everywhere, I'm offended
because I had crashed yet again...
Good night everyone, I have a big report due in the morning, must get back to work (yes, I know it's after 1am in Philadelphia, still gotta work). BBML!

a grid without an s is sad. or would that be "ad"
nite saphyre et al
that's my first 9 letter word since i've started this game
d 7/48
re 7/52, but i'm jealous of the 9. gonna work on that
whoa! i got it!
e 7/48
i think it's kind of a silly word that 9ner
yeah it is.
anyone out there?
back..i think
finally back
hello all, my computer totally crashed this evening, and I just managed to get onto Tom's computer... knutmeg, hi! ***Liv***
hi stidmama
Hi {{{STID}}}!!
hey stid
ak! major crash on the site it looks like...I just finally got on. hello all!
I can't believe that "negro" was not found in the dictionary--what dictionary?
hi kristinc! yes, it took me a while just now to get the site up -- sudoku was down, too.
proper noun?
lib..could it be capitalised
been kinda crazy all day long...here now though
kristinc -- I will be in Seattle on Saturday -- taking the boys to the Science Center.
I really should not have stopped back in on my way to beddie...
door
ogee
poop///sorry
negro is a color or colour
felix is not in the dict. either, means "happy" in Latin...
good for you Stid. I love the Science Center and I'm excited I'll finally have an excuse to go coming up soon
why does the timer keep jumping back and forth between 1 min left and 23+ hours left
:-) there is supposed to be a special exhibit.demo on astronomy, too, which Tom and the kids really enjoy. I think Mother and I will slip out to see the new library while they play...
thanks, stidmama -- same dict accepted phat but not mosn, but, really negro?
mosh
mine said hth+ hours left before the flip
I hope you have lots of fun stid. My family is coming up from PDX to try to help around the house which my husband is looking foward to ;)
Negro, w/cap= brown/black people--w/out cap is a color
this dictionary is rather sad
gotta bail
so long libarebel
any hints on the nine? I got one of the 8s, which I thought was a silly word
how nice, kristin! I know you will enjoy having some company. Wish you were ambulatory so we could grab a coffee somewhere...
good night libarebel
nite
thank would be nice stid...another time I'm sure, maybe with new little Dylan to meet
:]
that would be lovely, when the weather is nicer this summer we could meet at the Seattle Center or something. :-) I like the name, too!
sounds wonderful Stid :) (We finally decided we needed a name this week just in case)
woo hoo! just got 51 words.
44 here
ideas about the nine yet?
is that 44 left miss abs?
hooray stid! Miss ABS, no 8s or 9s for me yet...I'm never good at the biggies at night
Nope just got 45 words.
The final bell just rang and the class took off... they all asked if I'd print them the newest so they could do it for homework! Very cute!
kristinc I've got one of the 8s. It's a pretty silly word if you ask me.
where are you miss ABS?
oh ok, i was gonna say
Australia actually
this is a fun game for kids...my nephew is 10 and he loves to play with me
hello from sunny qld Miss ABS
we have several people from Australia but I hadn't met you before. Hello!
They sure do. I did it as a "warm up" exercise today, and the little turkeys came up with 60 words in one group 45 in another and 36 in another in only 10 minutes.
Hello Stid, nice to meet you.
My kids (13 and 11) also play, one enjoys it more than the other, of course!
Hello Sunny! It's actually quite beautiful here in SA too!
NSW, delurking to say hi to the other aussies
I think a few of us lurk around here
Hey It! :D Great to see some other Aussie babbling away!
delurking -- now THERE's a word!!
hehe
Aussie-types... there is a map where you can show those of us on the other side of the world where you are.... frappr.com/babble, need more reps from "down under" to even out the US and UK crowds...
LOL I think edoor should be a word, and ewindow too... then someone could pass the email through the ewindow as they walked by on the esidewalk.
LOL Miss!
heading back into shadows to bath kids.... back later for night session
lol, stid, you dont like us US crowds?
I think I've got brain drain cause I'm cracking myself up!
later sunny, nice to se you...
goodnight sunny
long
It happened! It happened! The w*** I wondered about is in the puzzle!! What will we do if we can't ask for w***s????
I just think we overpower the rest of the folks... I am still waiting for a South American, or African, or Asian, or Polynesian resident to show up on the map... I think it's too much to ask for Antarctica... but I can hope!
night sunny!
oh knutmeg, thanks! hadn't seen that yet!
true knutmeg...people won't notice and will ask for it anyway ;)
ExW is in the grid again, i see
ah the sad lives of over analytic babblers not putting the clues together and just asking for a w***!
LMAO,kiddo
gotcha stid
how do the L's in the first column differ from L's in the 2nd colulmn??
I hate when the word grid is in the grid...I always screw that one up (not sad, just detail oriented)
jai! i am typing on Tom's unfamiliar keyboard in the dark... going to go soon, but hope you are well and improving daily. I think of you often.
grid's not, though
watch, it kristinc, you used a w***!
krisinc *cough, cough*
true, right after we talked about it...told you dummies would use it! :)
see!? I knew have the w*** w*** in the puzzle would screw us poor babblers up! (Espeically those of us past our bedtimes)
it's always past MY bedtime, I think! LOL
lmao AGAIN....SUCH NAUGHTINESS...ALL THOSE W***s
although I have to ask, if I stay up for the flip every night, is it really past my bedtime? cuz then isn't my bedtime after the flip?
like me, cuz its past 2 AM in my time zone
I'll consider that my public service since *knock on wood* I have yet to type a word into the chat in error
and I can't even talk about my lovely flowers and such today/tomorrow because my favorite place is in the grid!
ah! and I'm not kidding, I just did it again!
but... you just did!!!
okay...no more typing for me (complete silence)
*ahem* kristin... just did it again...
and hooray...mama just used a wo** (a biggie too!)
stid! you used a w***, too. You can't even talk about your Fl****s!
(back to silence)
Ah, Kristin, quit giving away clues
thanks stid for the f 6/39
no way! oh man.....
WILL YOU TWO CUT THAT OUT???!?!?!?!
haha stid, you are smatrter than you know
I vote this grid as Stidmama's nemisis!
Evening/morning all Found the f9/108
Morning dear gang :)
hi FMitch! Do share, it seems to be the task of the moment!
dragee
Poor Stid can't talk about her g*****, her f*****s, or the w***s she finds...
I see.
stid, the F9 is of a base with your F6
sprite,fmitch...we're falling apart here (I mean me...I'm doing all the things that I make fun of other for usally doing)
yeah
thanks for the f9 clue
you guys are so funny today!!! Oh samantha beat me to it.
worag
*mmmmf mmmmmf* (going to be a chance for others to talk!)
Dont' have a F6. But I do have a F8 that I like :)
*ttttthhhhbbbbppppttttttt*
ha
still not seeing the f9
not only a nemisis, but a humbling puzzle, too!
nemisis, nemesis, its all the same... >.<
nvm, got the f9
what letter does f9 end with?
e
f6 base, w/ an ending of how old you are
''
yes stid?
Never heard of that before.... sorry sorry sorry...
sprite, did I see you say in yesterday's grid that you are back at work?
ohh. who knew that was a word!? =)
Not I, until I monkey typed it
It's the kind of word I might have "made up"
love that phrase, monkey type
it sounds like a 'bill and ted' kind of word
or pauly shore
Hello everyone
clinton and kennedy?
What happens if Stid finds a f5/16 triping over her 8/80 in her g6/27 while she is walking out her d4/5 to work on her f6/39s in her g/27 and then she sees an e6/36 on her porch... She won't be able to say anything until tomorrow!
okay, I have 93 left for tomorrow, going to cut my losses and run. Good night all (hi/bye Preethi) and see you tomorrow
no, the bill and ted movies. excellent adventure and bogus journey, right?
I did, FMitch. Started with a few hours per week and slowly building up to normal hours.
and kierlex, watch what w***s you use...
so long stid, take care
y should i? =)
yes gameboy ; )
LOL Knut!!! sprite WTO, good news!
AAAAAGGGGHHH!! AAAGGGHHH! WORD IS A WORD! I THIHK WE JUST HAVE TO FACE IT!
knutmeg you KNOW that's going to drive me crazy all night!
Samantha said a w4!
If this is the clue anyone needs to finish the g'dhay't puzzle, more power, to 'em.
sprite, we meet again, im raggedy on sudoku
Bye Stid and HI Sprite
oh sure...now we're not worried about people using it but we mock the tired pregnant lady incensantly :)
I live to drive people crazy, just ask me mom! (Who um, encouraged me to write that little fun)
:) Hi raggedyJuice then ;)
haha, ya ,definitely wasnt thinking when i made two different names
I had to do the whole sudoku over, because the website disconnected on finishing and couldn't be restarted!
grown
oooh jeez
I was the 101st member to add myself to the frapper map
WTG libarebel! That's another one ;)
ouch! well, i presume you went back and finished it, it was nice and easy for once
ohhh, who is preggo? congrats!
just checking my icon & then going to bed -good nite everyone
i quit
sprite, I got bumped too - saved a checkpoint right before it happened, though
Don't libarebel, we all do it :)
next time, type one that i dont have libarebel
haha
You were wiser than me then, Krys. But hey, aren't you always ;)
me...kier...that's why people are supposed to be nice :)
ah -hah - i guess whoever wants to see it will just have to look in the profile, cause that's the one i'm sticking with
libarebel! You got an icon!
thx, all
lib...I thought you went to bed?
don't worry libarebel, just avoid saying a w*** can sometimes be hard! so are wrong box accidents
kristinc, congratulations! Hope you will have a nice and gentle pregnancy and a smooth birth :)
chat moves so much faster here! my head is spinning - going back to sudoku
I did--should have stayed there -- back
dore
when is baby due?
i think maybe new ideas for icons are in order since the box size is soooo small - headlines, just isn't going to cut it today
haha krys, i like chats at this speed
i have a 4 yr old and almost 8 year old... but i miss having babies aorund!
OK, I'm repeatedly entering the same words over and over again. I must needs sleep now. G'ngiht
yeah lib, weren't you going to bed like an hour ago - same as me, lol
apparently, jai's accident is *my* fault? Ah the trials of doing the puzzle with family!!
bye sam
The baby is due in August but we had a scare w/ pre-term labor next week. Was in the hospital 4 days but we're hoping with bedrest, we can get this guy to term...1st for us
i should try this game in the morning insead of at almost midnight, probably i would kick butt =)
helen, I can click on yr prifle and view yr icon in a much lafer window so it does work indirectly.
goodnight samantha joy
ohhh i am sorry, i was on bed rest for three months (some in the hospital but most at home), i had pre-term labor and pre-eclampsia. it's no fun to do bedrest...
hmm...guess I should choose that phrase carefully as well
My good wishes fly right to you, kristinc.
helenkeller--one two three--to bed
kier...yeah, I know if we can keep this little one in the cooker that it will still be worth it
thanks sprite ;)
okay, today's grid is definitely going to be impossible on chats... sprite... g4/7
I know knut...I might hide my chat before I embarass myself more :)
can you get up to shower and that kind of thing? i could only get up to potty and could only shower every 2 or 3 days (and then i would start contracting anyway) Hang in there, definitely one day at a time...
Lol, true knutmeg! But I found a beautiful G8/55 that goes perfectly with the F9.
yeah, a very springtime grid, but the g8/55's here are going to have a sad day..
re6/30 Think Les Brown
kier...yes, I can get up for the potty to move outside to sit there too etc. We are also hoping that my issues were due to an infecion and not actual pre-term labor...will know more with tests tomorrow actually. If so, they may let up on strict bedrest
ohh, well, best wishes for that. my baby eventually came only 3 weeks early but she was 4 lbs and had 3 knots in the cord and wasn't breathing, etc. But now she is 4 years old and perfect in every way =) knock on wood haha
okay, folks...thanks for the kind words. Off to bed for me. Hope everyone has a wonderful night.
Sleep well, kristinc :)
Kier-good for you and her btw. Always good to hear good stories ;)
gnite kristinc and little one...
i want to find 7 more words before i go to bed
i want to find 115 more lol
lol, well at that rate 91 for me
fear
shoot
Hehe, kierlex is on a roll!
ack! sorry about that, keyboard diarrhea!
:)
haha, been there done that, its all good
i was doing the babble for TOMORROW lol
I want 'gelfling' to be there. Anyone ever seen "The Dark Crystal"?
I have sprite - love the film!
Me too!
gelfling? I'd settle for fling to be there!
5 more and i can go to bed peacefully
hhmmm have a feeling this grid is a little harder than first thought. Time to get ready for the day BBL. Happy babbling :)
When the O5/18 of my house became a D7/48, I couldn't R4/4 the place any L6/24.
sprite I got everythinmg except the D&

Rhymes with the O5.

Is Babble playing up for anyone else? Good morning, all, by the way...
Back finally!!! why Dr_G had to change things I don't know.
yeah it died for a while, but it seems to be back
morning, everyone
morning all. thankfully it's under 200 words 2day
Good morning all. This grid looks a bit snarly!
Itis!!
Hi ya Haz!!! Bet you are glad to be back home with the glaes etc they have forecasted. Did all go well?
Yes thanks - we had a very smooth crossing and I was glad to have made it over early as the winds last night were fierce. We haven't had the heart to empty the car yet!
Some of Fiona's flat-mates were still there and I was shown one of their rooms, pre-cleaning up. It was a jaw-dropping moment!
LOL re the car & the flat!, unloading and then finding space for it until it has to all go back again!!! Bit of a sticky grid today but some good w**** in it today. :)
I think the garage will have to be pressed into service. Theres definitely no room in the house.
good morning!
Good morning Kateq - you're bright and early!
well, at least it'sonly for a couple of months. Morning Kateq
just after 4 am here
Yes, thanks for reminding me it's all got to be done again ....
So, Kateq, are you late to bed or early to rise?
early to rise today, Haz checking in and off to make a pot of coffee
4am is definately "early to rise", getting a head start on the day!!!
Morning all! Rainy here, looks like an inside day for us . Maybe I'll get to finish the grid today!
Hi amanda, sounds like a good day to be babbling then.
Good morning amandacath - it's an indoor day. The grid has some interesting words today so it should be fun. Eearly morning optimism may be replaced by afternoon despair)
hmmm - found 55 fairly quickly, but I think I'm going to have to start making up words soon
hello evryone
Good morning Preethi.
Morning all!
Good Morning Haz
And Sue!
I keep seeing tangerine...
some clue for the 55 plz?
aegile
Morning, Preethi, Sue! Why isn't "negro" accepted? Not a very nice word, granted, but it takes others where I feel like I need to wash my hands after I type them
ga8/55? - one who is interested in horticulture
amanda, I was just wondering the same thing
hmm
got it Haz.. Thanks!!
I think Negro is considered a proper noun or a spanish one
You're welcome, Preethi.
I think it doesn't accept it because its Capitalized
'Mornin Amanda
exactly Kateq
the fact that it's spanish shouldn't keep it out :P there have been several foreign language words that have been accepted before. "adios", anyone? but yeah, probably because it's considered a proper noun, I guess
It is capitalised in the dictionary.
Oh, the inconsistencies of Enable. I doesn't capitalize "jids" - oh, ick <washes hands>
huh thats weird i cant get babble to work in IE7. now using firfox !!
I've just found a bug e6 that you would find in a fl6 planted in yr ga6.
good morning everyone:0
oooooooooooops meant the smile to look like this :)
Hi jean
Thanks for the bug, FMitch :)
Oooh - thanks Mitch - wouldn't have thought of that! Morning jean
Good morning, jean.
how are you today haz?
or you might find that bug in the general fl9 in your ga6
Jean, i'm fine - getting my morning fix of babble before heading off to RDA.
and yay Kateq - was just wondering what that 9 might be!
wow are you involved in rda i used to help with that
i may need to ride with them myself since my knees have become affected with arthritis and mounting and dismounting is now difficult
Yes - I'm the secretary of our local group, but my job mainly involves making the tea and coffee!
i presume its the riding for the disabled lol
ya i have the fl 6 but cant figure out the fl 9
any clue?
Good morning everyone
hi all!
Yes it is! We have a variety of mentally and physically handicapped youngsters, although we did have an 80 year old riding a few years ago.
morning all
take the f6 and add aonther word for how old you are.
heya atalante :) & rosalind :)
Hi Everyone!
hi trish!
its fantanstic I have a special needs daughter who rides when she can with them
wow.. Thanks Fmitch
mrp! hi :)
hi trish
It is great to see how much the children enjoy their riding. It's a big boost for everyone.
Hi trishtrash! :)
it certainly is haz horses are a great thing for them i used to have my own but not so these days
We had one autistic girl last session who never spoke in school but who was quite chatty with the horses! The teachers couldn't believe it.
how do you get the children / adults who can use the services? do they have to apply in some particular way?
my 6 year old granddaughter is learning to ride. She loves it.
This Grid Is AWFUL
isnt that brilliant we used to take a few downs syndrome out on them and they loved it, thats brilliant rosalind my daughters learnt from a young age and it teaches them so much about caring and looking after animals im a great believer in it
Atalante, we have groups coming from special schools in the area. One group is physically handicapped youngsters, one is mentally handicapped and the other group comes from a long stay mental hospital. It's a long-standing arrangement with the schools involved.
Oh for god's sake. Can I STILL not communicate in the chatterbox?
where is it you live haz?
samanthajoy you're showing up for me
Whats up Samantha>
Jean - I live in Ballymena, Co Antrim.
and me
could individuals come to a group and ask if there is space / time for them? I'm just wondering about my friend with Crohn's - she's often moaning about not being able to ride easily anymore
what a fantastic place haz I love coming over to Ireland I come over to armargh to take part in some re=enacting at the ulster american folk park occasionally
Yes, she could ask. We have a couple of individuals who come along and slot in with some of the older ones. She should ask at her local group to see if they could accommodate her.
What role do you play, jean?
oh cool!! I'm sure she's never thought about that, and being able to ride again, even once in a long while would cheer her immensely, I know!
i usually end up playing a inn wench from the 1750s based on settlers going to new england it includes french american indians and when my knees were not so bad i got chased by indians lol
I wonder if anyone else can see what I'm entering in the chatterbox? I may never know, mind you.
yes we can samantha
I can see you, Samantha
If she is used to riding, then it would be a big mental boost for her. Our 80 year old, who died a few years ago, had ridden all his life until paralysed, thanks to a car thief knocking him down. The first time he got back in the saddle after his accident, he burst into tears and pronounced it 'Bliss'!
But seriously: XFEEE? What kind of a row is that? I'd be offended if I were the type
well i can i dont know if anyone else can lol
I can see it Sam
Whoa. This is interesting. People are responding to me even though *I* can't see what I'm saying.
she always rode until her crohn's became too bad to be able to ride easily. and there's a group near her, I've just looked it up - I'll phone her and suggest it in a minute!
i have a simialr porblem i dont understand what i am saying
Great- I do hope they can fit her in.
oh so do I! that would mean so much to her, I know!
Good morning all
HAz, that must have been a wonderful memnt!! Time for em to go, finally made it to 100 w*** Happy babbling :)
good morning kallia
wrag
what's the grid like today?
morning Kallia
He wasn't the only one in tears, FMitch! Anyway, time for me to go. It's been fun but the boiler awaits! Bye all.
See youlater Haz
bye haz great to chat take care
byeee!
Must get some housework done Son coming home for the weekend bye
bye rosalind
have to go also good luck atlante with the rda have to let us know how you get on
So we are back online again, I see... was kicked out again and couldn't get back on, so I went to do something else. Now to finish quickly, before the site goes off again...
fi 8/80, anyone?
You can burn it, ylleria.
good morning Sprite
Hi Kallia.
thanks sprite - that should have been easier than it was *smacks self in forehead*
I have blind spots like that almost every day, ylleria ;)
site been down this morning?
I think they're getting more frequent as I get older :s
Again, yes :(
I wrote to Dr God yesterday evening...it was dreadful
had a reply, he cant find what the problem is so I guess its as frustrating for him as it is for us
Let's hope he will not answer back that it happens in less than 1% of the minutes we play and so shouldn't be brought to his attention...
I mean the site was dredful not my mail lol
hear hear Sprite
Hey Ata :) Good to see you. Saw some of the pictures on your site :)
About fifty of my wrds didn't go in my list. so i had terrible time finishing!
20 left... this is difficult :\
That's bad, saffire. I had the same with the sudoku today: finished it, then site went haywire, and had to do it all over again.
gameboy: this grid is mostly about endings. There are a few nice ones in there that fit after some surprising words.
this tends to be why you don't kill old versions of sites until new versions are settled :P
I'm writing them all down 2day!
yay :) pretty pics - California and Oregon are both sooo photogenic!
True Atalante... for those moving with some care that is ;) I love your pictures. Love the painting too, btw, fascinating with the hair that is also the neck...
thank you :) I have so many more photos to upload when I get a moment to do it! and drawings / paintings :) and I've made a print of your favourite Lure of the Dark Side, I'm just getting it validated at the website :)
Yeah! That is good news :)
I'll tell you when its finished and available :)
Please do, I'd love to order one :)
:)
With all the "word couldn't be added" moments, I just can't be sure which words I entered and which not! I am still 2 short and last 5 I was certai.n I had entered already.
Start a list!
Well, both last ones were words I HAD entered already. I wouldn't mind beta testing during longer, if that would catch problems like these before definite state.
this is a real green thumb grid today!
And many recurring words from yesterday's grid too, mrP!
I wish owly was a word :)
:) ...but I still hate F words!
ack so do I mrp
Hi everyone
my first time ..help please
Ah, but some of the F-words are so beautiful today! Ravish: try the help pages, like Angelsong's, see links below. They will give you a good start on the game. Welcome and have fun!
bleh, can't get either go6
only the D's and A's to go, will take a break and go attempt dinner! Bye for now!
gameboy: one is looking at you angrily, the other is what you would tell a dog that jumped at you.
Bye mrP :)
I thought the looking at angrily was gl6/36, or is that a different one/
no wiga?
You are right, I didn't think. The other Go6 is building on the not very pleasant Go4/6.
good day
morning burke
got them thanks!
how's the grid? is it a good little grid today?
Yeah, it is really nice. Some beautiful finds :)
ah..
re 5 14 ? please
ea 6 clue please?
ea6 is a kind of bug
thanks gameboyguy!
Hi Sprite! Was off painting a lamp when you came on
grim - there's a re5/14: what you might do again to a sailboat
any hints on the re7?
adorn... adorn....adorn...
make bigger
thanks for the help . cant see it yet . but....
re7/52...what happens to your kids after the have reached adulthood, they have ***** up, ad re in front :)
grim--think what sailors are jailed in; remove the first letter, and add the re in front.
got it.
sailed round the world. skipper for 30 odd years and still never saw it.
anyone help on the 9?
noor
nore
Mea culpa
Morning Eva! Coffee not finished yet?
fl6 + how old you are
fl 9/108 = fl 6/39 + a time
don't drink coffee so no excuse, except that Merp woke me up much too early and did the whole "I'm about to perish of famine" act, yowling, battering doors,s etc.
angelsong is nearly in the grid with the ag7/44 !!
poor starving cat!
Well, I've hesitated long enough, might as well dive in and to he** with it!

Eva - I agree, silly words too.
i think longerie should be a word for tall underwear
LOL, I agree Bonkler
does someone have a list of the 7's & 8's? with second letters?
The NU Times or International Herald Tribune has a contest every year fornew words -- I think you should submit longerie

have we mentioned all 4 8's - there's a fi, ga and lo and a ??
thanks arb & cat! Have then all now
have all the 8's too
eva> i don't know about that.. sometimes i feel that the arcane and archaic words that appear are seemingly killing brain cells...
yw Eva
definitely killing my spine!
Eva, are you HS class of 67-- we rule ya know
morning everyone :)
all this talk about brain cells--I've counted both of mine
yup-class of 67. First year at college in Chicago were the riots after MLK was killed. Then Kent State. Very dramatic times,, but much more hope in the air than now-a sense that a lot was possible. A lot less depression.
cliffopa-there you are!!! I was asking about you the other day. How hace you survived the flooding?
:-[]
of course if you ended up in Vietnam, because you weren't middle class and couldn't avoid the draft, they weren't exactly hopeful times.
no problems with flooding in my neck of the woods thankfully. was having a lot of back pain so couldn't sit at my desk much. also, playing with my kitten for hours!
have we mentioned all 4 8's - there's a fi, ga and lo and a ??
we went through such a time of political/cultural revolution; I'm so glad that I was present (and participitingi) n my youth
glad to hear it. Aside from the fact that we're all growing mold here in VT, no flooding problems. Kitten play has got to be one of the most healing acitivities in the world. How is she doing? Has she got everyone in the house wrapped around her little claws?
there is wo8/65
I am glad I grew up then and not now.
Iparticipititing
I have the fi, ga and lo....what is the fourth one?
Think I'm going to go for a walk in the rain. At least while it's raining there aren't any blackflies.
its wo8/65, i'm missing the lo8
thanks cat. stupid word!
libarebel-where do you live?
tin soldiers & nixon's drummin'
lo - take the lo6/24 and add the opposite of off
yes I agree, very stupid :)
we're finally on our own
i feel so badly for anyone with water/dampness problems from all this rain. i'm allergic to mold so we have a good system in place just in case. Brady, the little devil, is just about the cutest thing i've ever seen. and he is a cuddler - i lost my last cuddler 4 yrs ago. i'm soooo in love.
hi Eva--Somerville, MA
ty Atalante!!
Hint for Wo 8/65?
where are you Eva?
libarebet - have you suffered any flooding problems? (happy to see another new englander)
aw cliff - you have a new kit? photos?
wo8/65, add er at the end of wo6/33
I lived in Union Square for one year-1972-3, then moved to Western MAss, then back to JP from 89-2004 when we moved to Vermont. Still have our place in JP though
cliffopa, ty for asking-- I'm fine but my folks in Lowell are hurting
atalante, my icon is my new kitten. plus i have about 200 digital photos of him on my computer.
Thanks Cat...
oh! he is gorgeous! whats his name?
yw kk
*indulges in new kitten envy*
his name is Tom Brady, Brady for short. he's named after a NFL football quarterback for our new england team - the patriots.
I've lived in JP and Warren Ave, just off Union Sq.-- love Jp--how's VT?
and a cuddler .... how perfect!
me too-the envy. Was at Agway;s yesterday and they always have a few kittens from the shelter by the counter, for adoption. 3 sibs-all crosses between longhair white & burmese. So hard to walk away from them, but Merp would have eaten them for breakfast.
me too-the envy. Was at Agway;s yesterday and they always have a few kittens from the shelter by the counter, for adoption. 3 sibs-all crosses between longhair white & burmese. So hard to walk away from them, but Merp would have eaten them for breakfast.
the quarterback is also one of the cutest things i've ever seen :)
I so wuvs lil kitties...
Vermont is wonderful. Have never been happy living in cities. Beautiful, quiet, strong sense of community, very little sense of ambition, and a lot of tolerance for eccentricity. But also very whitebread-no cultural diversity. And no Whole Foods Markets. Miss that a lot.And miss the MFA.
my kitten has got into a very strange habit of launching herself at windowframes / doorframes etc and clinging on for as long as possible - like this - http://www.atalante.f2s.com/sily_windo w.jpg !!!
-lol- how does it get down? don't cats tend to climb to high places then get too scared to get down?
they are fun to watch - atlante, just emailed a few pics to your hotmail email address
she just lets go and flops LOL silly kitten
and she obviously has some secret agenda because she spends literally hours clinging to things
I'm surprised at no Whole Foods Markets; the MFA and cultural diversity are at odds right now, more so than ever
atalante-tried to see the photos, but it says the URL is not found. Checked for spaces and didn't find any so don't know what the problem is.
i'm having the same problem as eva.
Vermont has very strict regulations about big box stores and they consider Whole Foods one, so wouldn't allow them to build in Burlington. All the big box stores are in one place-Williston, so I'm hoping that Whole Foods will go there.
see you all later. Good meeting you llibarebel.
wah :( its http://www.atalante.f2s.com/ sily_wind ow.jpg - there I've put a space in for babble. just check for spaces lurking everywhere!
Eva - any sunshine in your corner of Vermont? It's so wet and gloomy here in Rutland. I am pining for a trip to Boston, but since I had both knees replaced three weeks ago, I am trapped in the house.
eva, i wish NH was more like VT. not far from here (about 10 miles- close to interstate 93) the box stores are multiplying like rabbits.
Gail, I miss you. I need my fellow babbler at my elbow.
atalante-she is quite a climber isn't she :)
Pat!!!!! I wanna come back to work!!!!
she's obsessed with climbing! give her something vertical, and she's be up it in an instant!
wow, 3 vermonters on at the same time!
Gail-no sun to be had here....sorry about your knees. Wow, both at once. I guess it's better to be laid up only one time. But Boston has been a soggy mess-much worse than here. Looks like it's clearing there today though, and going to continue to rain here for a while longer. Everyone please keep you finegrs crossed for good weather for the 27th, for the 4th Annual Adamant Blackfly Festival.
cliff-we've discussed this before. You are in the wrong state(-:
Mmmm - all very botanical tonite. By the way - how was that lily spelt yesterday? could have sworn it was arium!
Come back Gail, we will play fetch for you. I cannot take another day like yesterday! Kudos to you girl!!!
back soon
bye eva
Finally got some sun in MA yesterday, and today looks promising as well. How did VT fair with the flooding?
bye eva!
Hee, hee, now you know what I have to deal with every day. Never a dull moment in my job!
I asked for Zoloft or Prozac and said I needed alot of it - Holy Cow - give me the hernias anyday.
Hello all. Back for another go at the grid.
Not too bad with the flooding in Central Vermont, but then I can only see outside my bedroom window.
hi haz :)
Pat, go right to the Xanax, skip the Proxac.
hi haz (oh great clue-giver)
I suppose you've finished, Atalante?
Thanks. Catch you later when I get your lunch order.
Okay.
I'm trying, haz, and getting diverted into kitten envy by cliff!
cliffopa- you know how to flatter!
it's the truth haz. you must spend hours helping others finish their grids.
kaurie, where are you in MA?
I do enjoy giving clues, that's true. I enjoy hearing everybody else's fireworks!
can anyone help with the N on the bottom line. I have one but not the other.
nite, Eva :)
dinks - the other n (I assume) one of the elf's names in the Hobbit
ok got it
stuck on the Y words now
I have only yo***-yo5/22--an exclamation
clue
I hate y words! The only one I have is a comic-book word - yeah, that one, libarebel
nice clue, dinksbumps hee hee
yo4/10 - a nasty sounding sound
I am looking for a clue not giving one
oh
hehe got them all
begins nasty sounding word and then two vowels
oh, got it ty, Haz
You're welcome!
anybody know the 9 letter one
fl9/108
does it begin with a bloom ?
Indeed it does.
yipee !!
yay! ty again Haz
108? wow
It's not a word I've ever seen used before, but if it gives the points, I'm not complaining!
haz - friend is running off to phone her local rda branch right now! she'd never thought about doing such a thing before, but as soon as I mentioned it, I could tell from her voice how much she'd love it!
i get the bloom part of the nine, any help on the ending?
Oh I do hope she manages to get something sorted out. Please let me know how she gets on.
I will do :)
cliffoap - add how old you are
perfect haz! ty very much :)
You're welcome cliffopa.
I just found the fl 9/108 :)

I just love when your names in the grid wr4/8
Hi FMittch and faerie, I decided to play today, but wishing I hadn't now, I've just got through the re's
Well then the worst is behind you them ExW !!
I should never have stated yesterdays grid. Babble was down most of the day on my end of the world.
I didn't play yesterday
Yea faerie, babble has become very unsable recently. I didn't do yesterdays. and when I logge don this morning babble was down too.
Going to get my hair done today. Changing to color. What do you think.....Highlights or just light brown or dark brown or red or reddishbrown
ExWren-- did you resign as a wr 4/8?
how to play?
Highlights, it's not so drastic when the colour grows out
get a mix of hi and low lights in several colors, will give depth and tone
FMitch - Dr_G needs a bigger server really, really bad. I think there is more traffic than he expected :)

{{{Evan}}} Good Morning!
I'm in Somerville MA
I'm in Somerville MA
Evan - Love you headlines LOL
thanks ;)
I seem to be repeating myself.. (server heard me)
Libar-so you have had like ton's and ton's of rain. I lived in Norwood MA for about 2ys
2yrs
way big rain
Where is Somerville? I know the East coast pretty well and most of the lower state.
Somerville is right next to Cambridge
Libar-OK, just found you on the map. Know exactly where you are. I have a couple of freinds who are working on the Big Dig.....So I do visit when possible
I loved Mass.....and miss it
We lived in somerville, too, for a while -- david sq., under the HUGE willow tree...
I miss it -- but prefer the other end of Massachusetts.
jfarber - No kidding!!!!! What a small world it is LOL
Gets smaller every day.
Davis Sq. is now soooo expensive -- they expanded the T to go there
what a nice small world ;)
We got out just as they were putting the first huge row of condos along that back path from the T station.
But the T was there for a LONG time before gentrification.
NO way
Good morning everyone!
{{{Music}}} good morning!!!
I remember taking the T to davis square in 1986...it was a mess then.
good morning musicmom
Music - now those are some headlines LOL
Mornin'!
(so much for work!)
{{{{faerie}}}}}
morning musicmom :)
jfarber I loved in Norwood 1986-1988
Yes they are Faerie It took me a long time to find one printed big enough to read
Grew up in Newton -- 19079 - 1991
Music - that's why I don't have one :(
VERY small world. Always liked Norwood, actually -- had a crush on a girl that lived there once.
Jfarber wow 19079 LOL
Yeah, well YOU "loved in Norwood," do I wouldn't talk :-)
yep, now the T (MBTA) has instituted what they call "Charley" cards--to use the new automated system--named after a guy in an old Kingston Trio song about a man who was trapped on the subway ...
I love your picture though. What is it?
yknow, you can just click on the icon now + see the full-size image. :D
I have freinds in Norwood, Needham, Rockwood and Lynn
Good Morning! Well, how is today's puzzle?
I'm babbling, besides the puzzle...
Ah, Lynn...home of marshmallow fluff.
I know! Isn't that cool?
No idea Merk - just started
Ohhhhhhh yeah.....and I've been doing that LOL
BGL - you still here?
Shorter than yesterday's; thank goodness
Merk - Hi.....its a nice grid.
Still lots of "re"s, tho. I hate REs.
Going Icon shopping brb

works for me -- I'm the only Jew in my entire school, students OR faculty.
So the practice is good.
"holla at!" is more the style here.
buongiorno! to all (melonhead says)
oh, lonely farber. never fear, there's lots of the tribe playing word games. we'd swamp online rummikub, if there is such a thing. back to my "sprint."y

Glacial is the speed of Babble today.
Me too - I have 136 left:-)

Noogie is not a word. I'm going to have to type that 100 times.
bye eva
mornin' all.
noogie should be a word. it was important to many of our childhoods
Yep but trust me I have typed it enough this morning to know that it is NOT in the dictionary:-))

Morning Jera
{{Jera}} *sprinkle* *sprinkle* *sprinkle*
{{musicmom}} How are you today?
{{faerie}} *dances in the sparkly dust*
any clues for the L in leftmost column?
{{{jera}}}}} I'm fine --- getting ready for our Court of Awards tomorrow night
Really, so soon? We are meeting this summer so no rush for us... we won't COA until actual summer, I think...
Yes so many of my girls do camps in the summer it is easier to do it before school is out. We aren't bridging until fall though
faerie I'm watch a movie called Dazzle Its about faeries
It was a unanimous vote to keep meeting all summer... don't understand why, you'd think we have fun or something...
don't make it shorter, melon
melon, opposite of high..ly
We are meeting through the summer too but will never have more than half there at any given meeting
2nd 10 min sprint 33 words. this is a slow go.
Shorty - Really on TV>
How many in your Troop? If I've asked before, I've forgotten...
Shorty is Bedazzled?
and remember, high life is boring
It keeps changing. I started the year with 8 but am down to 6. Not bad for Cadette troops in this area though
I'm thinking about letting each of the girls plan a meeting next year.
Love your icon faerie
Very good for Cadettes... you are actual Cadettes, not "teen scouts"?
with guidance of course
good clues celsotavora
My girls are choosing to retain the Cadette name.
:)
yeah on starz
LOL Shorty you picked a good one also LOL
celsotavora - that clue filled in the L in 2nd column.
They are resistant to change - have wanted to be Cadettes since they were Brownies
I love a traditional troop.
Shorty is the name of the move Bedazzled?
no just Dazzle
I don't get Starz :(
that is good shorty!
frieda - that works - tx
thanks, Haz
I keep picking up new Girls who have never been Scouts before... so I have the weird troop.
It is their choice - but I'm glad - I tend to be a traditionalist as well
yw, melon
I have been hesitant to pick up new girls because these girls ahve been together for so long. I'm afraid there would be trouble assimilating someone new.
I have very friendly girls but there is too much history
Did I tell you about my Retro Scout workshop I'm planning? Where the Girls earn discontinued Badges?
No but that is very cool
brb
I think that's why I keep getting the newbies... they would feel funny in a Troop where everyone has been together forever...
Jera, that sounds way cool...can I come along? ;-)
where are you going to get the badges- are they available?
The Sprite is working on Collector & Housekeeping. She's my guinea pig! I also want to do an Indian Lore one, I miss that aspect..
The more the merrier, jbp!!
on my nhonor....
honor, that is
Black Diamond has an Indian Lore one --- we did it a couple years ago.
I buy stuff on e-bay in the other section of Girl Scout stuff. I have lots of old books, uniforms, insignia
very cool!
A badge?? We earned their Try-It... loads of fun... is that your Council?
I have really been thinking about your banned book week idea -- may incorporate next year with a service project
Yes a badge - yes that is our council.
I can get the requirements for you, if you like
le clue?
I'd love that... my e-mail is in my profile & I'll send you my snail mail... or you could attach it, save a stamp. Do I need to do anything to get permission?
that wasn't french btw
le - roman army division
I don't think so. I'll check with our Field Director at 10 when she gets to the office.
I have your email
Or a stern French army corps
Thanks bunches!
haz - how'd i miss that? i'ts a pow (plain ol' word)
Yes, but you have to go round in circles!
what is your council?
Nation's Capital
how many letters for the le clue?
le6/24
Cool! Are you guys going to be affected by the shifting of council lines
But I'm also affiliated with Shawnee... co-leader with Sprite's old troop before we moved.
You sound like me --- I'm in two service units
could i have a different clue then? not up on my roman/french stuff...
jbp - body part, then charged particle
omg, never mind. i'm a dork
I don't think we will (Nation's Cap), but Shawnee. Sprite's old troop is supposedly going to Skyline, which is a good council.
add aire and it's a disease
yes I've heard of skyline. We are supposedly getting parts of other councils but Black Diamond will stay intact.
The division was rather unfair to Shawnee as there are many lightly populated areas & not very wealthy
Lunch time! Will be back later.
that is sad
enjoy Haz
Shawne straddled 4 states, got a bit confusing at times.
bon appetit, haz!
Sometimes I think that about Black Diamond -- I forget how far east and south it goes at times

That's the extent of my trucker show knowledge.
lol. Now I am working on the E second row up if anyone can help
I loved Jerry.
Fred is the best :o)
ooooh -watching the trucker show references go over my head-
Fred was one cool hound...
dinksbumps - one is an er 5/12 - to wear away
there was "Over the Top" with Sylvester Stallone. Oscar potential there. please note sarcasm
THAT'S the one I was trying to think of. Sarcasm noted and shared.
morning everyone!
when you can combine arm wrestling with trucker, oh yeah, hollywood legends are born
en4- archaic enough
Hey, kristin...How's the bump?
Hey all, I'm back for a bit... the Sprite has pink eye so I have a few minutes before her doctor's appointment (oh joy).
hi kristin!!!!!
Could use some help with the re5/14, please...
Wasn't there a really bad one with Randy Travis and Patrick Swayze?
Hey, Jera...hope Sprite is't too uncomfortable.
hiho smaller
jera> re5/14 is what u do when u change the fittings on a ship
hi smithchick...still here, a very good sign :)
er4-sea eagle
jera> another clue is re + semi truck

She's not complaining too much. I remember having a bad case as a child & it hurt so bad to close my eyes I couldn't sleep!
Good...I've been thinking about you!
ok got the sea bird one
Thanks, got it... re-dragon slain!
ogee
another er4 : hence (latin?)
re + letter after Q + 3rd vowel +letter after F
en5- to give to a foundation or something
thanks smith
nope cannot find the foundation one
en4/4 an organic compound
to en***...give money to a scholarship fund or something. Leave a monetary gift in one's will.
got that one
dinks> think of what they say when they talk about a well-en***ed lady
another en4, means "enough"
LOL, burke...With ar6
organic compound? a pox on all you science majors! lol
smithchick> hints are boring if they don't pack some entertainment value =)
Huh, read the definition after I typed it so I could clue it...just recognized it from months of babbling.
evryone got the 9
Too true, burke. It has been very entertaining this morning.
ooooh! anyone watch LOST last night?!
en4: en+ opposite of young minus last letter.
no 9 4 me
i don't have the 9. anyone?
Nope, didn't see it boreetos...How are ya?
dinks> i've got the 9 =) (but then, i've completed anyway..)
yes boreetos, it almost kept me from finishing the grid!
ty Alien...now that, I understand
its to do with blossoms
hi btw!
enol
fl9 : pretty thing in the garden + a measure of how old you are
fl6/39 + how old you are
opposite of minus is plus
duh !! I am thick
pretty things in the garden /= (not equals) flies
thx smith and burke. some of these words, man.
jfarber> erm.. how do flies and pretty things get linked? =))))
np, cyclinggirl
jfarber, are you a teacher?
I am
I teach French
What do you teach dinks?
FL9: Sweet smelling thing in garden + how old you are
I am, yes -- comp. class.
Hubby and I watch Lost and yes, we watched last night.
Just being literal, burke -- flies are pretty (to some), and they begin with fl -- the clue given was "pretty things in the g6.
so kristin, what'd you think? Have you checked out the Hanso Foundation at all?
I never miss LOST... can't wait for each new episode... it's very complex, even watching reruns, I see/think of something new
hurshy has 90% and is no longer unwilling to see clues accidentally!
stop using the ga6 W4!
oh, the dreaded comp...what ages do you teach?
middle school -- which isn't coding -- it';s creative thinking, with logic and ms office stuff.
Hanso foundation? I thought it was insane...I kept yelling at the tv to warn them (well not really, but I wanted to)
Okay, math teacher, I have 33 left. What's my percentage? I'm too lazy to figure it out!
Right now my students are "dissing" web pages, in order to evolve a list of good design concepts.
you have just over 80%
OH, not writing composition then?
what's this about a han solo foundation?
teacher, here, too -- reading specialist in an elementary school
Ooooh, Han Solo... *swoon*
Well, I have 66 left - off home now - maybe I'll be back later...seeya!
Bye, matty!
hmm... would've thought that this game would attract more teachers... maybe there're a buncha teachers amongst the lurkers?
tee hee hurshy...something from lost...boreetos is going to fill me in
The Sprite is working on some fanfiction Star Wars 7... doing a play for school... she's a descendant of Han & Leia
seeya, matty

never been to ark. but know people there :o)
Good luck at the doc, kristin!
It's okay...Pretty here...
thanks smith, cya!
I'm org. from Ohio, and I love the hills here!
Need help with lo8, please??
jera> lo8 : not shorter + opposite of off
ty, burke!
np, jera =)
lo6/30 as well...
second N word from the bottom is baffling me
an unlikely adverb, jera
Nevermind, got it...
lo6/30 : lo4/6 adverbial form..
I concur, hurshy, only got it with the math...
is the lo 4/6 a "fish" word? i have not short
that's the one that they are referring to abe - i don't think there is another...
abe> nope lo4/6 is not short
yes it is a fish word:)
oh ok, cool. thanks burke and hurshy. oh, and hello to both of you, btw
hi there =)
is the lo 6/30 related? i have lo 6/24
yes abe
abe> yesh =) lo 6/30 is the unlikely adverbial
and thanks to daisy as well
does onyone have any clues for the dr6/27 and 7/40???
burke i thanked you too, but i think it is in chat purgatory
abe> its okay =) the thought has been received =)
both start with dr4/7 and add double vowels next...
RISH> dr6/27 is to pull something along forcefully
RISH> dr7/40 is the term for mounted musketeer soldiers
kristin you still here?
I got the 6/27...but what a wo 4/9!!
10 left but I gotta get the littlies to the doctor... back later (I hope)!
She had to go to the doc, boreetos
Bye, Jera...Hope the Sprite's eye feels better soon.

Okay - someone clue me in to the E from the lower right corner....
oh lucky you then b#Burke...can't stay away from the scintillating company I guess :)
Oh, well that explains it then...I can only spell in English, I guess.

yay smithchick! :)
AHHHH - okay - hand me the fish.....
DANG - it didn't play that from the corner E!
-hands CadFan a large trout-
me too...didn't put the ending on there.
HA, now I got it!
it didn't?
i had to struggle with that one
THe R in the middle of the bottom row keeps doing that too - I think I find a word off it - and it uses the other R
I'm in the same boat as you, CadFan.
What' worse.. on the E word.. I work at a University - I know all about e5 ments
anyone interested in how the boxes work can read my bio...
I think the trick is, especially on that R, to use it for words that repeat the letter.
i needed a bigger trout. i still can't get it
yes, definitely - read hurshy's guide to boxes.
ahhhhh. ouch
-hands smaller a really big trout-
is not ronde a word?

m3, those of us at work can't get to sites like that
is it annoying for me to ask ...please tell me if it is

if you have the sails and the sentence one, then you CAN'T be missing a bottom r.
Yours hursh. Now about that ri6?
it's an adverb, smith.
okay...
but i am very puzzled about your bottom R situation. perhaps you need to refresh?
Dumb word...
and please, all, do read hurshy's guide to boxes, just click on my icon...

So my last r must be an ro. I've got five.
there are two 5/12's and two 5/18's, smith
No, hursh...I've got it now. I meant it was your second clue that was what I was missing. About restructuring a sentence.

nooo tndaisy it's not
Magic Power by Triumph has that line in it
I know I heard that somewhere...
helen r u listening to e.l.o
the bug one? that's the only ea 6/36 i have
hurshy... i'm having a *duh!* moment! thanks!
yeah the bug one
Just for that, hursh, you have to guess which e's I'm missing - one from the top and one from the middle (and it's not the bug)
And now I will sign off with one word more than the 50 percent I was trying for today. thx everyone
like an electric sea creature
ugh tndaisy
bye cat
In German that song you can't get out of your head is an "ear worm" - gross, huh?
i don't think it's elo, but thx
oh duh - gimme the fish!
and maybe en 4/8?
yep - very gross
can't believe I missed the bug one -- I am a bug-o-phobe
en 4/8 = en + ouch
i think we should call it a ghost tune (ghost town, ghost tune, get it?)
nope, had that one - and it is too elo (or not?)
helen its a song by them called hold on tight to your dreams it was there only british no.1, and on that note im out of here for tonight have fun everyone
how about en 4/4 then amanda
ok thx sandr
the one that might (or might not) be fuel? - least it sounds like it. Got that one too
er4/4, ye olde birdie
was just about to say: ....and the bird and the big ones (5 & 7)
er4/6, you are missing the er4/6
You win! That's the one that's not there! <goes to find it>
at that point it was a fairly logical deduction
and now I feel stupid - it's one of my favorite words
*sings* just take those old records off the shelf, i'll sit and listen to 'em by myself, today's music ain't got the same soul... i like that old time rock and roll!
Somebody else ask for a clue for something so I don't feel like I'm cheating off everyone else!
you mean so you CAN cheat off everyone else.
you got it amandacath. how about do 6/27?
do 6/27 to mark a page in a book by bending the corner
okay, I'm missing an E from the top row. I have the bug, and I have the sea creature. What'd I miss?
ok, somebody ask for a clue for a different one
oooh, nice. thanks :)
nrkii - enthusiastic, british spelling.
I can do that! Enthusiastic in England!
cool, many thanks to both of you
except as we were told TECHnically it doesn't mean that... but it works as a clue
nrkii, thanks to you I grayed out a square!
sea creature? that's the one I need I think...but I have no idea what the word is...
I also want "agoo" - as in "my heart is all agoo for you"
adjective, daisy - LIKE an electric sea creature
daisy, it rhymes with TOUCHY/F****
Daisy it's a fish-like snake-like thing with the sometimes vowel at the end...
I just found it! ty:)

ag 7/44?
ag7 is a compound word of "era" and "not short"
lower
I have 65 left. I found two of the 4 8's on my own, and 1 more with help from clues a bit ago. Still need to find the other 8 and the 9, but am going to try on my own for a bit.

I just found one that was stupidly obvious do 4/5
don't feel bad nrkii - I almost always miss that one
Hullo, I'm back from the library, where the questions from novel lovers had to be heard to be believed. As a novel lover myself, I'm fully booked. Anyway, dear Stid, how are you doing on your husband's computer? I have 7 to go. How bout you?
names today: dora, felix, lyle, flo, rod, ned...
ron, don, lon...
figaro, gordon
are you keeping a list hursh - naughty/nice?
figaro figaro figaro!
no helen just observing :)
ge 5/14?
figaro here, figaro there, figaro here, figaro where?
nora, dorie...
and why won't it accept 'negro' ?
me too, hetty! and famous finnish city doesn't count, either!
Perhaps it considers that a derogatory term helen?
vpchat - like fantasy, sci-fi, western, romance, etc but change last vowel
no stid, the dictionary doesn't censor. we've had nigger and it counted.
I had a spat with enable this morning about that one, helen - it's thoroughly and utterly inconsistent with what it capitalizes and what it doesn't
i don't believe it is - that angers me
got it, thanks hurshy
i absolutely detest the re-writing of history
it angered mab when we had the other one - she wouldn't put it in.
what other one - the 'n' word?
oo5/10? No freakin' way
yes, see my post at 4...
okay, I have one g left to go
golux - it is like an ee5 word that means spooky
huh - sry - i missed that
good thing it's a G or how would you Go :)
thanks hurshy
is there more than one wr?
I have 12 G 4
no amanda
hetty -- I have 58 words left, and I am still getting used to Tom's set-up. I really dislike his keyboard...
no, just one wr
hmmm, than that's not the w I'm missing...
nrkii, dunno how you managed that, there are only 11.
evening everyone, hope you have all had a good day. I'm resorting to the list - this grid just doesn't suit me :)
5 g5
stid - is it one of those split in the middle keyboards
(oh, I count some of them twice, to make myself feel better)
there are 6 g5
I've had one of those keyboards for years and I love it! If you type alot it's so much easier on your wrists
so my g5's are ge 5/14, ge 5/16, gi 5/14, gr 5/20 and gr 5/22
hi Katie, have decided to see how far I get until after dinner.. then the list comes out no matter what!
i like ones that make a really good clickety-clack sound when you hit the keys.
oh shoot, and another gr 5/22, which means I have all 6!
there are 2 gr5/22
i think "noogie" should be int he dictionary
moving on then...
6 g6
and 1 g8
I keep wanting to put in "filigree" !!! Driving me crazy
7 g6
Tom's makes a clickety clack and the concatenated keys clatter so I can't concentrate.. my arms aren't attached at the angle this keyboard is set to. (whine whine)
I'm with Katie - 29 left and I've lost patience with it. Here I come, list!
*cries*
okay... ga 6/27, ge 6/30, gl 6/36, go 6/30, gr 6/36 and gr 6/42
alghjr -- me too! even tried "filigrew" last night...
go 6/39, "** **** moses..."
{there there hurshy}
amam - i have 29 too
lyole

you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave...
dr 7/40?
nrkii rhymes with early brooke shields movie "the blue la****"
nrkii, that's the one that's like a mythical combustion creature.... only it means a type of soldier
nice!
thanks much
Stab it with their steely knives...
good for you helen, I have four more E... all from th one in the middle column
but they just can't kill the beast!

you can check out any time you like
oh wait, we did that line already -- it's all a blur
yes please nrkii... I have two college funding related...

HK - is that better?
no nrkii she might also need "hence".
amanda, not wet
I need one more...
le 6/24?
hence?
why yes it is angela ; :)
yep, it's hence
one of her college fund ones came from the other E
jesus asked a demon it's name and it said, rather borg-like if you ask me, "le6, for we are many"
thanks - somehow i always miss the ones coming from that root...
*its
hey guys, i have a problem.... there's 25 letters that start with a "G" right?
yes
no, only one letter starts with G
there are 25 letters that don't.
ggreat clue hursh - thx
aaaaaaaaargh
HAHHAHAHAHAH
sorry, i meant WORDS
LOL see trick question - LOL
poor Goosie...
you can't put that past hurshy...

but now that we've cleared that up, go on goosie yes, stidmama.
I'm all "G-ed" out
yes stid
yes stid, latin
for therefore
okay, *thinking*
I have 25 words for "G"
ends with the opposite of stop
*pesce, pescado, here fishy fishy*
heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere fishy fishy fishy!!!!!
but for the "g" in Row 2, Col 4 it still says 17/18
I always translated that as "therefore"
hence/therefore, yep
therefore, hence, potayto potahto...
goosie, try refreshing
rage
ugh
go hursh
against
the
dying
of
machine
macine
machine!
very well, we shall rage against the dying of machine(s).
I have the same problem as Goosie...but MY 17/18 is probably justified. I just don't know which one I'm missing!!
Good plan!
rage, rage against the dying of the light
Despite all of that, we're still just rats in cages.
okay, down to 48 and must stand up or my back will not forgive me... back later, and thanks for all the help!
*twitches nose*
see ya stid
Did you exchange a walk-on part in the war for a lead roll in a cage?
Se you soon, stid. I'm at 56
i don't think a lead roll would be very digestible.
I figure after that reference to Jesus casting out demon(s), and then a reference to an Amenian hard-rock band, a Smashing Pumpkins lyric just fit.
ba-dum-bum
mmm, i want some parker house rolls.
Pink Floyd always fits :)
aamen Angela!
Oh yea, and the Eagles. So it's all about rock lyrics.
not JUST rock, we are very eclectic.
By the way: Hi
HURSHY, thanks!!! I spent 10 minutes trying to figure it otu! boy I feel pretty dumb..LOL

lol, they drive me nuts
how many le's are there?
but...but...it just means that many more different weird words to find!
just the one helen
but...but...it means i won't have to worry about missing a stupid plural!
tx
I'm off to bed - happy word-finding, all!
harder work, less humiliation (fish)
i only object to the plurals that come without singulars. nates, hurds.
good point, both of you
going to spend quality play time with fuggles bbl :)
i object to "noogie" not being accepted :)
hmm....well...guess i'll be off and do some housework. later y'all.
bye hurshy
(get in line firefly)
bye hurshy - thanks for the clues
see ya hurshy and katie
bye-bye hurshy
:P
It's a real downer, some words that aren't here that should be.
*gasp*

Anyone have any clues for the y? I got one of the three

Chrissie, I have only one myself, and it's probably the same one.
all three y's begin with the same 3 letters
chrissie, do you have the 5 letter y that sounds like something written in a comic strip?
no I don't
one is a sound a cat makes...
any clues for ri 6/33 and ri5/16 please
Okay, now I've got all three.
Im still stuck on it
ri 6/33 rhymes with w6/45
i have an ri5/16 that's a kind of gun
ri 5/16, well shoot, you don't have that one?
The third is a cat's whine, the first changes the last letter of that to a vowel, and the middle is a cry of exclamation.
good pun vpchat :)
thanks, couldn't resist :)
thanks, that helped a lot
CHrissie, did you get the three yo*s?
I'm still trying to work out what sound an american cat makes!!
Think of the sound a dog or wolf makes at the moon, but change the first letter.
hi kids

folks I will back to help later if I can, my back doesn't like the chair at Tom's desk.
Cat9x, yiou are on the right side of the stat list foul ups. I have just found, after completing every clue and duly entering it, that I am short five letters (*which I am not) and I've been gypped of one O, one L, one A, and 2 D's. Re-entering the words makes not a scrap of difference and I'm thoroughly browned off.
i only have 14 out of the 17 L's, maybe I should start using the list so I can mark off what I have and don't have
bye stid!
bye stidmama
fl+ not short l, miss the l off
Thanks for the help, late nite, early rounds---later
