I can't figure out how everyone can post so much AND still get high word counts here! I'm struggling at a measily word count of 45 and have a really hard time of following what's posted!

speaking of other things to do.
Our dane bloodline was living to about 11, and one was 14 -- we were working on that.
the oldest boxer i've ever heard of was 13 and he was really falling apart
we'll be in the market for a dane soon, but can't afford a breeder - that's why i'm looking for rescue groups
we're actually looking for a new home for our 2nd boxer. she's going to be 1 on june 19th. we got through the hard part and now have to get rid of her. our house seems to be shrinking
I've got a couple of Rhodesian Ridgebacks - gorgeous dogs.

I know, I was addressed as Sp6/21 or as 7from9 ;)
thanks jillibus - will do. was thinking maybe you had a favorite
haha!
lol - that's still funny sprite
you have to give lickety his due when you miss him so badly you spend 5 minutes refreshing just to try and get his site to have today's clues up.
i know what you mean xandria, i'm hopeless without the list
is the little pink guy frolicking?
wassup--youricon has been right on for many themes-- try to pass as the not yet discovered rain forest critter?
nope. man it was so good!!!
Lol, I saw the name of a once-famous dog, entered it for fun and it took :)
but if you click on my icon it will
if we all shouted really loudly for Lickety to come and give us addicts our Lickety fix do you think he'd hear in Australia?
good call liba!
i don't see rintintin anywhere
froelich, love the pink guy. too bad he doesn't frolick on here
yeah, where's old yeller?
i know!! but he will if you click on him... it's like an investment
here spot....
the rare hat wearing bovine
lol lib
Collie to the rescue!
yes, we discovered the rare hat wearing bovine in the deepest darkest part of the amazon. he was reading a novel and drinking a martini.
ls1 -- good luck - my involvement was back east and am now on the west coast, no longer in touch altho stil a GDC of America member, also GDC of Quebec, CKC etc.
charlie is a collie. but if you're in danger, she'll bite you and bark at you
my friend's dog
lol, renfield
charlie is your mom's dog?
oh, yes, typed too fast
Perhaps I am the only one from the hero collie generation here :)
hmm, hence the sly smile... :-d
i think we're all teasing you sprite! it was a good clue!
i believe rintintin preceded timmy's dog
i think they're messing with you sprite. surely everyone knows who saves timmy from the well!
That collie pulled Timmy out of a lot of scrapes
that's so funny about denise last night....
abbie is barking in her sleep. (dog)
lol ls1
aw....
i know, i was telling josh about it. he was cracking up.
you are correct, helen!
:D Thanks... so I am not as old as I just felt ;)
HAHAH!
we had a dog named abbie!
(((sprite))))...tee hee
abbie's a grumpy old lady. we love her though
dirty word..... first one i saw, as usual
we just lost our abbie, earlier this year
A dirty mind is a joy forever, froelica :)
it's good to know i'm appreciated!!
Sorry to hear that, helen... always sad when you lose a friend that's been with you so long.
hi sprite ** hug **
so sorry helen. my parents just had to put down our family dog. Martin, the flying luck dragon (neverending story?, anyone?). He was almost 17
Hey andy! *hugs right back* Good to see you. :)
dips
sorry tying in wrong window ;-(
: ( he was always the flying luck dragon AND a gay old man in a satin robe to me
wow - 17, that's a blessing
same here how are you doing? Job/husband ok?
Neverending story, absolutely. "Follow your heart's desire and luck will find you."
did u see lucky lately?
Totally! Josh used to call him "the mute kid in the corner"
Can't agree more sprite
ATRAYU!!!!!!!!!!
hehehe
sprite, my parents dog looked just like him. I'm going to look for a picture. brb
Job is going in the right direction slowly but surely. Husband and kids are doing fine. And with you?
Kipling wrote "don't give your heart to a dog to t***" if anyone wants an easy hint
he was a breed of his own
awesome. he should be your icon
all OK sprite, business is good, off to Florida next week so no babble, glad you are OK
dogs seem to wear their hearts on their sleeves...
Good to hear you're doing well, Andy. Yes, Lucky has been on recently, she did not think she would be passing the tests for next year's school though.
hi babblers
while cats are soo reserved..
oh well hope she will but I think she can still paint right?
hey ramix
ooh lookie!! my flag!!!
luv 'em both :-)
ramix, you have your flag!
Hooray for Ghana and Dr_G!
yes lib, that's the best thing about them - is the afternoon getting my 1 1/2 year old pom acquainted with a 14 week old pom - i think my gal is still a pup, but next to the babe, she's like an old lady - the puppy just crazy runs whenever she feels like it
I think she will always paint, Andy, indeed.
i do...i do!! yay!!!
It is a pretty flag too :)
agreed, it is her passion and she is pertty good at it, sprite
*spent the afternoon ...
there he is, in all his glory. refresh for the flying luck dragon
oh, helen you have a pup w/ adopted mom or dad?
aww, wass, what a sweet face :)
Oh dear, he DOES look like the luck dragon! What a sweetheart :D
yes, we miss him
falcor is what i called him. my dad called him marty j. dog. he had a middle name. :)
nope lib, my husband brought me my pom even though i made him promise not to - i wanted to go looking myself, after my last one died at 14, but he has no will power - the puppy is his son's new dog (grown up son who just bought a house, so now they can have dogs)
there he is!!!!
how many words today plzz
when the two pom first met, mine didn't know what to make of a free-spirit dog that was smaller than her!

ty
thnx
slat
helen, have yo seen the classic video of the kitten teasing the big cat--made in japan in around 1998
Now now, no calling names, edmo ;)
lol sprite
actually lib, a rescue dog came into my life about 1 1/2 years before gizmo died - mr. face is the transitional dog & a very good one- kept the old dog young & now he's training the new one! a mutt, someone threw him away as a 10 week old puppy, i just kept him after no one repsonded to my many posters, pictures, vet calls, internet & newspaper postings - i hate it when people are mean to animals
i made manicotti today, now i'm gonna go have my second helping and a glass of sangiovese : ) see you all laytah!!!
bye! eat some for me!
will do, chickie!!
Sounds delicious!
lib, no haven't seen that do you have a site for it? or shoudl i just google ktten teasing cat japan?

that is so nice, helen--the older training the kid-- I had my cats do that once-- awe ome
And there I was being happy at least it wasn't a valid word, lol.
psst, drop the s from sprite's word...
yeah, it's funny how they know just what to do, when to protect & when to encourage/discourage & when to just let them be
Or insert another consonant.
lol wass

after an hour I finally got the 10, yippee
This grid is hard on me. I am at 1/3 and slowing down already.

Bad setup of the site, andy, we all keep doing it.
sure we will - or maybe bad setup in our brains handling word recognition lol
Lol, I was referring to the accidental posting of words in the log...
yup I got it as soon as I posted it you know smart minds think alike - or is i fools do not differ :-)
Hehehehe :)

good nite wass :)
Me too helenk
nite wassup
nite, wassup
lol jill - well let me know if you get it
Nah, not cryptic. Just the carrier(s) of a specific trait in genes.

totally twisted long fish for al 6/18
helen, i like your choice of rain forest creature!
ty fran :)
and plural for 7/28
as the talking head said - we are little creatures, creatures of god
I probably look incredibly stupid for asking, but err... helen... is that a clue?
no sorry sprite - it's a reference to my icon
Darn! ;)
lol & sprite - i doubt you would EVER look supid
*stupid
At least 100x each day!
no way, lol
maybe i should have said totally + twisted long fish
LOL! I just told my kid what we were saying and he says: "No, not 100x, mum, only 50!"
Well, eh, thanks son... I think. :)
oh man, i had that those words - fish, i didn't know they were
lol- i still think you have great kids!
So do I! :)
hey, a favorite childhood cereal is in the grid - quisp!
I wonder... how many of us tried that right away to see if it were valid?
Silly! :^D
Hi
hi dianne!
Hi Dianne :)
How is everyone this Saturday afternoon?
Hi Dianne, say hi to Hong Kong where I got a terrible sunburn in 1939
i'm fine this Friday evening.
Still enjoying the morning here. I have come down with a nasty flue, and being a mom doesn't help. But my husband is taking the kids on a camping trip, so I will be home alone for the next 2 days :)
jilli - it's changed a bit since then but you can still get a terrible sunburn here :)
morning all
Hi oggy :)
aww, that's very nice - quiet is good for recouperaton - although, fetchers are always nice to have too
so sprite I expect to see you here 7/24 lol
hi oggy!
Lol, with this grid I probably will have to!
sprite - that will give you time to nurse yourself back to health - and - babble!
123 down, 90 to go... and no speed left at all.
I am at 92without list adn feel like going to bed son
I hear it's changed a LOT, and nobody swims in Repulse Bay. How about Big Wave Bay?
They cleaned up Repulse
I'll start again - they cleaned up Repulse Bay and it is full of swimmers all the time.
Oh good. It was fun.
as the
epulse
ay hotel here when you were here ? (i hate this ste up!!!!)
Things are bound to have changed since 1939. You are about the same age as my parents, jilibus... how great to see you puzzling like this :D
hey andy. i'm stuck at 92 too
qwell that makes two of us ramix
Yes, the Repulse Bay hotel was there , and little sort of shacks on the beach where we could change. I wasn't there for long tho. My dad spent the war there, interned at Stanley civilian camp.
Wow - that is something about your dad. Was he a civil servant here?
yes!!!! 93!! finally
Long story. He was a Scot who worked for the Chinese Postal Bank and set up a branch in HK. We really lived in Shanghai.
still @ 92 ramix, congrats
evening, all
k 93 now
ok that's it - i'm done in - 158 - 55 for tomorrow, gone listless for quite a few days, ego is satisfied, so maybe will hit the list tomorrow asap - unless of course it decides to rain

Exactly. I love them dearly, but they don't combine too well with flue ;)
i talk too much and only have 59. Must get to 60 and WILL NOT stay up till 2:30 am again!
that's why I try to keep semi quiet lol
Hehehe :)
I have been trying to get the r word from the top corner but just can't find it no matter how I monkey type :)
it's a straightforward word - think of lions
Just go straight down!
It sounds like wild animals, Dianne ;)
Diane think about not bying but re** the placem, flip last consonant

ty fran me niether!
it's from an old 60s song
well im old enough to remember
Manfred Mann, if I remember correctly?
another clue would be one of 5 babies minus last consonant
you're probably right Haz, can't remember!
that i can figure out, ty
cheers omg memories lol
r 7/44
can we get a clue dalmatian?
Is that the one with the 8/60 for 3rd person singular?
what's the 3rd qu 5/16 please?
That's the weird one, jillibus
re7/44 is to prepare something again with the required elements
jill, it means strange or slightly off
re + e 5/18
thanks haz and dalmatian
Yeah, that's the one that makes an 8 too, dalmatian.
ty
Morning everyone. Having a quick babble before I go to cricket.......and at last, a sunny day.
i have strange,, Her Majesty, and put down but there's another 5/16, isn't there?
hi frances!
Good morning Frances - the sun is shining here as well.
gm frances lovely day
jill, it sounds just like her majesty, but change a vowel
Good day, Frances!
You may be missing the alt. spelling of Her Majesty, Jill
Hey Frances!
scratching head, should go to bed...
How you all doing? Lots of vowels today. Could be interesting
lees
Here we go again!
It is interesting, Frances! I was out of speed at 1/3 today.
jill, it's the first qu word in the list
Heehee, Elisabeth?
Frances, I would appreciate it if you would give me words I didn't already have. LOL
lol!
so glad im not on my own lol
yes, an 8 letter word would be nice!
Oops, I'll try harder next time
I'm impressed that qu is being so useful today and not just taking up space.
thank you, hon!
thank you, hon!
i know haz, it's part of a lot of good words too!
excuse my redundancy
question 4 u all
For some 8s: think without canvas and a person giving loud and shrill yells.
if my screen name is on someone elses buddy list!!! doesnt that mean they should be on mine?
That's entirely up to you, shell :)
thanks sprite!
how do u mean sprite?
ok, got that last qu, thanx, and now to bed with 72
sprite, got the canvas one, what's the first letter of the yelling one?
night jillibus!

Fran: S8/55
thanks sprite, found it!
Hi katie
Was a bit late with answering, my family is going on a little camping trip and all I hear is: "Honey, do you know where this is?" Mum, do you know where I left that?"
Hi Deutsch good to see you, I haven't seen you for ages.
understandable sprite, they'd be lost without us wives and mothers!
I know, Katie, I've been under the weather for a bit. I'm sort of a bad accountant- I've lost my balance!
Hello Everyone!
They couldn't find their asses with a map and a torchlight if we weren't there to point them in the right direction. Seriously!
(((Deutsch)))

I can't enter a thing! is anyone else having issues with the site??
sorry for the redundancies. Hi Atalante!
I can't add anything either, which is annoying as I've just found a couple!
hi atalante
yes - cant enter anything
is the site back?
back on line lets hope for the best :)
woot!
for the record, I did NOT break the babble!
so you say Deutsch, so you say
......and I thought it was just me. A few more minutes before I have to go
are you sure, deutsch????
actually, it started as soon as atalante showed up...hmmm. ;-)
Well..... Maybe um, wellll, sorry
I broke it! Woot! Never done that before LOL
Did babble go offline?
Morning Atalante. I see you're still lost!
it never actually shut down, everything just got really sloooow
sq 8/55, anyone? (So I lied about going to bed)
did it ever matty, Atalante broke it!!
I couldn't get in at all - I got 'cannot find server'. What's today's theme?
jill, pigs are these (think of the sounds they make)
just unlost myself :) *refresh*
jill, it's also a song by AC/DC if that will help.
happy birthday katiew, does anyone know what the 8,s are
Anyone - today's theme?
rain forest creatures matty
thanks oggy :)
oggy, i have 3 of them
Atalante I like that. It looks like very beautiful silk scarf.
Oh. My icon at the moment is a picture my daughter drew of my mum's late dog. Have a look!
awwwwww! good pic
well, I'd thought of that but couldn't work it on the grid, but never mind, it's there and thanks and now I'm really going!
re8/60, sq8/55 and te8/40
<script>alert('hahahaha');</script>
mattygroves Aaaaaaah
Thats a really good picture
and mine is a huge big thing I drew a few years ago as a friend's brithday present. I've never been so pleased to finish something in mylife, and never been so pleased with the result!
thanks franmag
atalante, it looks like a scarf print from Hermes, it's lovely
ooo thank you! thats a nice compliment! :)
cute picture matty!
It's super Atlante. I hate dial up...
Atalante Wish I had a friend like you....and my favourite colour too.
Hermes does a different theme every season, I thought it was from their mythology theme.
Looks like we're back again
we'll see for how long!
Yeah, better finish fast. Still need 42!
there's a better pic of it here, if you'd like a close up - http://www.deviantart.com/view/1457012 7/
Atalante Just had a peep. Truly beautiful. I love it
Sprite, I need to beat you tonight!, I have 187 to go!! what are my chances!??
Lickety said I have none and FA !
If you really want to beat me, I can wait for you to finish, no problem!
lickety may well be right
you might die of boredom!! As long as everyone was happy to entertain and give really easy clues!...
If it means that much for you, it will be my pleasure :)
Oh Sprite, I am having a jokE!!
...but I do have 68 left!!
sprite, Mr. P, LOL
Well, I am sorta getting paranoid, wilth people who wanna beat me and people betting on my time... while all I wanna do is find words :)
Gosh, is no-one asking for hints today?
I have 146 to find. I'm almost with you!
just enjoy yourself, sprite!
I've still got 153 left, have you noticed it's always a bigger grid when you have got plans for the day
Thanks Ata :D
matty, I'm so far off the stage where I know what needs to be clued :)
Of course, Katie. this dang thing can read your mind
Matty, I still need too many for clues, but thanks :)
True - I'd even be thinking of resorting to the list...if I could get in. I hate dial up
Not that I have one
lol Deutch!
Criminy! there are 213 words and I keep entering the same 60. Wake up, brain!
I think 60 is about the amount of relatively normal words in this grid. I ran dry at 70.
OK, I am asking for clues!! pi7 please??
Died again!!
I'm on 55 and struggling. I think I shall go put wash in the dryer and wake sleepy teen.
Died again!!
Died again!!
Keep getting word couldn't be added message. Think I'll get ready for cricket as this is so frustrating. Back tonight
mrp, an insignificant person, starts with pi4/5
Keep getting word couldn't be added message. Think I'll get ready for cricket as this is so frustrating. Back tonight
'sit broken again?
hallo?

my computer is playing up
my computer is playing up
Is it just me, or is this moving at glacial speeds?
whats going on
if moving at all?
if moving at all?
ah, are we back??\
no :(
ARRGGGGGHHH
Are we working again? Testing testing 1234
a long wait to play babble today.
hi everyone! Wonder what happened?
morning.
hi cliff. How are you doing?
i'm good. now if this rain would only stop!
I know-was going to garden today of course. But at least it's raining hard enough so I don't feel any obligation to get anything done.
by the way eva, thank you for your recent kind words of wisdom.
very welcome. How is your friend doing? How are you doing with it all?
Is anyone else having problems getting into lickety's clues?
spent some more time with my friend last night. he is starting to become exhausted from all the visitors - but he still wants everyone to keep coming.
by the way cliff-if you don't want to talk about it, and just want to be able to come here for some repsite, please don't feel you have to.
finally! Hi Everyone :)
thanks eva. i've found that fellow babblers are great at helping me keep my perspective in order.
thanks eva. i've found that fellow babblers are great at helping me keep my perspective in order.
Morning afternoon all I can get in fine matty.
how did your black fly festival work out eva?
'snot letting me in! I get page cannot be displayed
I got in Mattygroves
see if you can reach it via angelsongs page
black fly festival! I forgot about black fly season!
of course there has been so much rain in NH that even the black flies are drowing!
I grew up in MA/ME. but we always spent May in MA.
but now you're a left-coaster krys....how do you like it out there?
Without the list, I'm doomed!
love it. miss the leaves in the fall, and the snow in the winter, though. been here twelve years.
afternoon everybody!
i just got here - which site are you having trouble getting to, matty?
afternoon? where do you hail from, unicorn?
Brandyjack will be posting his list on Babblers anon at some point. I did copy licketys list into excel if thats any good to you?
Italy at the moment
matty, maybe you just need to refresh . . .
i'll be here for about another year or so then i might get to go home. Maybe Hawii i won't know until later.
matty, I can email you a list if you want
Where in Italy?
Avaino AB
it's about an hour from Venice
how long have you been away from home?
The Excel list would help...I don't know why I can't get in - I've tried refreshing, shutting Explorer down. Maybe just the perils of dial up
Pop your email address in yr profile and I'll pick it up from there and email you the spreadsheet.
about a year and a half now
Cool - thanks!
good morning , testing my new icon!
do you like Italy? and what do you do?
hmmm, can't read it very well
Tis there now...
and email is on it's way to you :)
Italy's pretty cool. I love the travel! It's hard to find a career that will let a young person spend so much time in Europe. Air Force
is cliffy still in here??...
Been digging the garden, is the site ok now?
I figured you were in the Air Force, but I was curious about what specifically that meant for you - do you fly, do you do mechanics, some of each...?
Thanks Fiona - you're a life saver! (OK, perhaps a SLIGHT exaggeration...)
Hi Katie,All seems OK now. HAve you got the glorious weather too? yw matty.
i do a little of a lot of things... ...um... it's hard to explian.
teal does not exist?
Student , try again, cos it does :)
try it again...
it went in on mine
We'll be off walking soon - a friend of ours is walking 900 miles for a charity researching a rare type of cancer, and we'll walk a mile or so with him. Fab day for it!
Fmitch, it is fantastic. My plants may live after all!!
oh - sorry
yes its doe student
Krys, I see that you're touring bridges this summer--there's a cool covered bridge in Elizabethton, TN that spans the Doe River
Amazing what a difference a bit of sun make, everyone walks round smiling. Mind you that could be at all the silly shorts people are wearing.
Oh! I should edit that - I decided to scale it way back.. but I am still interested in bridges of all shapes and sizes and most of the covered bridges I've looked in to are in New England - will check it out.
ah, OK :-)
warm day for it matty, has yr friend already started or is today Day 1?
Check out the details of Gary the walker, the charity and the walk here - http://www.rosemargaretwalk.co.uk/
I've got a silly skirt on but not going anywhere but my back garden in it. I found two much loved rings I thought I had lost last year, it was like getting an extra present :)
here it is, uneaixoise: http://www.dalejtravis.com/bridge/tenn esse/htm/4201001.htm
Today is day one - Hampton to Chertsey, I think.
the student...were r u from
where is australia
krys, FYI my daughter lived in Western NC for years and Elizabethton was on my route to visit her
It's an old bridge - 1882 - unusual that it hasn't been rebuilt at all... or maybe it has and it's not been documented.
hiya everyone!
where in australia i mean..i live in australia aswell
hi bex
krys, it's been rebuilt somewhat--was damaged in a flood in 1901
Melbourne Alek
Katie, finding those 2 rings must have been a real momet!! Hi Bex!!
kool
you?
adelaide
krys, check out this site: http://www.tdot.state.tn.us/bridges/ex isting/Elizabethtonbridge.htm
oh - that'd explain why you are home on a saturday night!
Honestly I was so pleased, had to phone my mum straight away to tell her. Finding them today of all days just made it even better :)

I love Adelaide
It's my birthday so it really picked me up:)

uneaixoise, cool site! I wish I were able to find that much info for every bridge I'm interested in !
Right I am diving back into the grid, still got lots of words to find.
na5/10 hint, anyone? definition or something?
na+ri4/4(minus last letter)
well you learn a new things every day - the na5 is an alt word for a nostril!
thanks!
al5/10?
Is there a clue for the RE 10,70 word?
merk - never-stopping
all =al+double vowel
al - everyone + double vowel. sorry
build on the re6/18
Thanks - again, I'd sworn I had tried that. Clearly not.
What about a clue for re 7 and 8 I assume 8 might be a plural.
Good Morning all, Gray and raing day here, clues for any of the 8 letter words please
meant rainy
Are there clues for the RE 7 and 8?
I'm outta here - off for walkies. See ya later, maybe - 123 words left - bad brains today
Good luck to your freind!!!! Bye matty
Merk - re + eq5/18 and pl
Ok I'm giving up for the day. Too nice a day to be spending it in the house. See you all tomorrow :)
nonword of the day: spider
Bye Katie and enyoy the rest of your birthday!!!
So tired... LOL
good morning jfarber.
Ah, discovered! Hello, my dear K10.
Just here for a moment or three while the kids awake upstairs...
morning. Babble!
Morning Angel
morning, everyone!
How goes the end-of-year tutoring, Krys?
so far, I have four S words that also use the 5 point tile. are there others?
squine
that is ot one of them
very busy weekend - tutoring all day today and all day tomorrow. bad night to have trouble sleeping! half my clients have a final on wednesday, and after that it gets a lot easier. i'm staying overnight at my office tonight because they're closing the bridge i use to get back and forth for seismic retrofitting.
LOL. Angel, I have three...a shiny thing on a shirt, a pig noise, and an inky seacreature. what am I missing?
how goes the end of the school year, J?
The noisy pig is missing.
according to licketys list there are only 3????
there's a s8 that makes the pig noise
If it makes you feel better, Krys, I lived at the office for 7 years...until we quit the boarding school teaching gig.
(thanks, K)
Hi Haz
only three that go SQ, but at least one other that uses it in another spot
put the fivce point tile in the middle of the S words for a couple more....
i avoided the boarding school gig, myself, although it was tempting when I first moved here and couldn't afford groceries
think follow on - as in a book ormovie
Ah! Movie number two and three...
Hi FMitch - just back from shopping and taking a breather before lifting it in from the car. No 2 daughter is sun-bathing and couldn't possibly be disturbed and the dog is not to be trusted!
oh duh, thanks guys
does any1 ever get all words?? I'm new ...
I hardly ever spend the time...but yes, many do, Bowdy.
Oops -- three year old is up and asking about "whay are you writing on the computer, Daddy?" Better be off for now -- later, all (bye, Krys! Hope work goes well!)
damn ... that means u have to get all words to win ... :( lol
LOL Haz, I was out all morning and was so lucky every time I needed tp kar I go a space in the shade, it was great!
*to park
have a good weekend, J!
I will -- elderkid and I are off on a "date" to see Over the Hedge. Off now -- bye, all.
you don't really "win" at this game, Bowdy
Could someone please tell me how many words there are today?
it's more the journey...
there are 213.
Thank you Krys
No, Atalante, it isn't that you DON'T win, it's that EVERYBODY wins!
good point!
does every1 get there from hinting to others or just because it's too easy?
fireworks! [bowdy - I use lickety's list and a2z! - unashamedly!!]
lots of hints. also, there's a list of the first letters of the words that some people use to help them along... click on "lickety's babble clues" at the bottom of this page
oh, its vastly easy. especially 400+ grids ...
*giggles*
There are loads of ways, have a look at Angelsongs page under freinds of babble and that will show you how.
yay, dip!
someone's feeling techey this morning :)
Bowdy, many people don't find all the words on any given day. Words are found by hints from other players, by two-letter lists that point you toward what to look for, and by sheer brainpower. :)
Ssshhhh Atalante, we haven't had one of that size for ages - don't tempt fate.
500+? :P
that sucks then cos the lists spoil the fun lol
please..not tomorrow..it's a busy day!
oh you naught siren,s you! LOL!
I'll have words woth you tomorrow if that comes true!!!! ;)
should be on brainpower not read and type power
Did the site stabilize a little?
So, Bowdy, don't use the lists, and everyone will be happy.
hey sprite! oh no - not AGAIN?
Hey sprite - it's been fine for the last hour.
hi sprite! i've been on for about 90 minutes and it's been fine. was it wonky?
Well, I'll try and finish then :)
some people don't use lists, Bowdy, and finish quite happily
Yes, went haywire, 3 times in a row.
Hi sprite - yeah - but it was down for a while. How you feeling? I seem to have the same bug...:(
well then those ppl deserve to finish
that seems to be happening more and more.. :(
Sorry to hear that, Dippnall :(
woot! I deserve to finish! sorry, you other guys ...
I need 13 more words, 3 of them 6s. Here goes nothing...
bowdy - I think it depends on the extent of the addiction - some of us just have to finish once we begin!!
yay atlante!
wow! I was just able to scroll through then entire log without hanging up. Maybe it's been fixed? Anyway Cliff, didn't mean to just disappear. Had to feed the furry beast. The blakcfly festival went beautifully-didn't rain until the evening. And yes, as you remarked, the rain seems to be too much for the nasty little critters and tehy are going away this year much more rapidly than usualy.
Addiction? I have NO IDEA what you are talking about.
hahaha fair enough
hahaha fair enough
oops
afternoon all, from a beautiful sunny London :D
Sherb! *hug*
hi sherb!
some people even finish without lists when English isn't their first language ;)
They must be mad then.
hi sprite, Atalante (((hugs)))
utterly
mad, gifted, where's the line? :)
Found one of those darn 6s. Yeah for me.
glad the festival was not rained out eva. am currently holding small furry beast in one arm, typing one-handed!
ooh - i see there's a ten!
awwwww small furry beast wants to play too!
A very beautiful, rather common, definitely-no-babblet 10-word, yes!
my cat is totally dissing this grid - i think she's more of a sudoku type too
actually, it works well with addiction - re10 addiction to babble
he has been a bit neglected lately .
Sudoko was too easy today.
i got stuck and had to come back to it, but then, i had too many cocktails with dinner last night
Hehe, you are better at it than I am, so I hold the cocktails to blame.
what does the 10 begin with?
sudoku was pretty easy ...
R, Eva
guess Eva! RE!
NO!
Eva, it's an R Sprite, I don't know if I am better... I use the green numbers which changes a lot
no - not no :P
no doesn't start wtih R
the en words are making me crazy!
Not NO, but Re. Krys: no matter how one does it, as long as it works!
although "entrail" is tempting...
i cannot believe i got the 10 just by hearing it was an re!
oh - why oh why did i even start today?
its the added kitten brainpower!
cliff: send those vibes out my way
En-words: there are only 3, Krys. One is a frequenter in the babble grids. One is followed by land surrounded by sea. And one has a great def: slight convexity or swelling, as in the shaft of a column, intended to compensate for the illusion of concavity resulting from straight sides.
must be kitten power - no other explanation
got the en6 right away... thanks for the help
is the qu in the 10?
Nope.
temple - re + one of the le 4/4s and then another le 4/4
got them ty!
ya....got it
tks cliff
yw - but probably should thank the kitten
I think I need added kitten power today. I can call upon it for another few days - Silverclaw is 1 next week and therefore a Big Grown-Up Cat!
sometimes i wish kittens could stay kittens. but i also enjoy watching them grow.
Big Grown-Up Cats have their own mystic powers.
Thanks Cliff!
brady says he will send kitten vibes to any who need them.
hopefully Big Grown-Up Cats are good at helping find 6 letter words. I suck at those
Same here. Still need one more.
One more 6 that is. And 7 other words.
50 s words, they are killing me!!!!
I still need far too many of them!
*does the done-with-vowel-words dance*
I left my last S till last. At least I will know then how many letters it is supposed to have. I just cannot think of any more S-words. Likely or unlikely. Monkeytyping or not.
I added some new tips to the resource page yesterday, in case anyone hadn't noticed.
Keep it up angel, always appreciated.
You're doing a great job with your page, Angel :)
thank you! It's a pleasure doing the page.
te 8 please?
Okay, last word, the S-word, is a 4. Impossible to ask clues for, therefore. Argh!
te8 = te4/4 + le4/4
Temple: no canvas.
is the di7 hard or obvious?
thanks, sprite!
ahh - a comppund word DOH!
Somewhere in between, Krys. You will have to stand.
oh dear, that would have been easier if I have the S4 to begin with !
the hazard of working backwards - habit from the old site
On the other hand, now you have 2 new words in stead of one, Krys ;)
three, actually, had missed teh sea creature as well
Monkey with the pretty fingers did again the job for me :)
congrats sprite1
yay! congrats :)
wtg, sprite!
Woohoo sprite!
This was a toughie. Thanks for the help and the fun! Any clues needed?
going once...
going twice...
brandy hasn't updated his pg in a couple days...i can't tell which of the 2 qu's i'm missing...does someone pose another list anywhere?
Look under Lickety link at the bottom of the page Cathyar
lickety's page - see link at the bottom
whoops...i'm missing 2 qu's
ok...tks
Errr... there are 10 Qu-words.
qu5,16 qu5,16 qu5,16 qu7,40 qu5,16 qu4 ,8 qu4,7 qu6,27 qu4,8 qu5,18

Okay, I am off. Have fun babbling and hugs for my babble friends :)

the bride walks down the ai***
bye sprite... enjoy your day :)
ty I had it all the time and did'nt know it need more coffee
Feel better soon sprite!!!
bye sprite
bye sprite!
ok...i'm missing the qu5/16 and the qu6/27. any clues splease?
lol splease haha
think it's the last 5/16
qu 5/16 -al sp of the royal lady?
the Q6 is a food, a seed that is sometimes ground into flour. the last Q5/16 in the list means to suppress
got that on fmitch...maybe it isn't the last 1...hard to tell
last 5/16 is another word for strange/unusual.
ya...it's the food one i think i'm missing
the Q5 i just described comes after teh Q7 alphabetically
Ah missed that one sorry
Hi All
i have the royalty qu...i have the odd one...i have the one to supress
the food one has me baffled...don't think i've heard of it b4
ahh...sorry...didn't notice the food one is the qu6...not a 5
The Q5's: two words that refer to women, one meaning odd, one to suppress, and one (5/18) to make a clever remark
it's a grain found in health food stores.
se8/55, please?
clue for the q7 while we're on the Q subject!
more strange
I am so stuck on my last SA5 - I have the one that means Indian wraps, but I can't find the other that is close to it in the list
tx Eva, I was miscounting my number of letters!
qu7 = the qu5/16 (odd one) but more so.
Im hunting that one too Krys, I'll let you know
indian wraps with the r changed?
ack never mind found it
I am missing a simple RO 4,4 word. I have the one about fish eggs, What am I not seeing?
it's a kind of antelope
think about lions, merk
me too for the se8/55
Lions? ABC will it come before my fish eggs or after?
have the feeling it's an ocean compound?
the sound lions make
Good grief, I started with the wrong 'r'. Thanks
Does that mean I need to rest my eyes?
theres an sq8 55 - is that what u mean eva?
se5/10 between the foloow up and the shiny thing? Please may i have a clue?
2 more hours and i can go to bed... so tired
bowdy-thanks for heading me the right direction. Now I just need to find the damned thing!
se7/8 combo is what we are seeking bowd
okay-how's this for addlebrainedness-already have the sq8/55!
Any clues for the 2nd sa6/18 please
hmm, if the se8 has the same point value as the sq8...
is there also an se8/55?
right to-at least one of us has her wits about her
se7/40 adds a vowel to the follow up, then give it a latin plural for se8/55
clues for the se 5's? i don't have any :/
thanks haz!!!
that did it, haz thanks
sequela
oh haz - ty! TY! TY!
so so sorry!hope it's not a real word
You're all welcome!
oh well
I knew the longer one, but not the short version....well consider it a gift to those who didn't have it yet)-:
Blame Merp Eva!!!
now for the se5 above the follow ups and below the vend
any clues for the re10/70?
well, I would, but he's lying here very innocently and peacefully for once
Ahh, he must bee full of food or plants then LOL
jojo-re+2 le4 words
food
food
re word means to not give up
breakfast time for the humans
Haz have you got the 2nd sa6/18?
ty, got it now
No, but I'll go looking for you.
se 5's! please ?
thankyou!
the sa6 you're missing is a Persian musical instrument, FMitch
oh great :( Thanks Krys
mia: one se5 is a net: the other i am missing and would like a clue for.
You mean you're not up on your Persian musical instruments?
stay right down in the bottom left corner, FMitch
good morning babblers
a hole in my education exposed to the world!!!
good afternoon
lol mitch! i need the OTHER sa 6
lol
the other sa6 is a helmet
ooh krys - maybe that's the one i DO have...
sa6/18 - first three letters - stuff at the beach, then three letters of word for fatigue
The other sa6/18 rhymes with what artists use to mix paints on.
ty haz - and that is the instrument?
Phew, thanks Haz.
Oh, I don't know. I'll check the ? beside the word to find enlightenment.
No def HAz, just tried
then it's the instrument
No enlightenment - the first sa6/18 is the helmet, the second sa6/18 can't have been too popular.
any clues for the top a?
The sa that's an instrument has two alternate spellings that are probably more common than the one in this grid
the top a always reminds me of the word "flux"
and the indian stringed instrument is here today as well!
i think there's an sa after the plural indian garb trhat is eluding me
try going in the other direction - it's an antelope
yes, TO, like the French composer minus the final vowel
Past tense of sit, plus a vowel and then pluralise for the 5
ty! i acutally know that composer...amazing!
cool!
whoops, sorry TO thought you were looking for an s5
clues for the ai 5/10?
oh no! i do have those...it is above that after the indian garb
Is there one weird SA 4. I am missing a SA 4 and I don't know which one. I assume it's one that comes before being 'rational'.
sa** and pepper?
I've got the seasoning one.
plus the middle english form of the same seasoning
I have four SA that have the tall straight letter in the third position.
miametro, it sounds like i4,4
merk, i've got 5
just add a vowel at the beginning
i don't have any i's :/
I have tried every combination and can't find it.
3 4's and 2 5's
mia, think of brides or grocery stores
Its when you walk in the middle
clue for the i4.4
please - my last s word! there is 4/10 indian garb, then 2 5/10 in a row. oneis the plural. the other i can't find!
oh god. that was so simple...-smacks head-
I'm telling you, it's an antelope! head left and make a U-turn
there's an s4 between the 2 s5's
Uneaixoise, there are no other letters to put in the fourth position that aren't already used. I can't see what I am missing?
i4,4 is an island
TO - you're missing a 5, right?
sa5/10 - comes between the Indian garb and the composer - rhyems with a wash b****
yes, krys, i am!
do you have the sa5/10 that sounds like Lee Harvey Oswald?
Haz's clue is what i'm talking about
we're all cluing the same word for you, then
got it! the s words ar hissssstory!
woohoo!!
Yes, I have the Indian dress pl. and the Oswald. You mean there is an SA 4 between those two SA five words?
no, sorry, Merk, I was confused
Tell me then, does it come between the seasoning and the rational?
there's an sa6 between the seasoning the dress . . .
there's no s4 between the seasoning and the rational
Merk, major sleep deprivation--so sorry I'm been less than helpful!!
There is, krys... it means righteous in hindu
I have all the S's and I don't have an S4 between NaOH and rational
NaCl even :P
Have to put the shopping away and will be back later!
Krys is correct
off for a few hours of anti-sleep deprivation treatment .... back later too!
d'oh, sorry about the chemical gaff :) here are all the SA's - if you know which one you're missing I can clue you better. sa4,4 sa5,10 sa4,4 sa6,18 sa4, 4 sa4,4 sa4,4 sa6,18 sa4,4 sa5,10 sa5, 10 sa4,4 sa5,10
SA 4 a garage SA
SA 5 plural
SA 4 ends in double cons.
Then I need an SA 6? I'm missing that.
medieval helmet
the word after the double cons is sa6/18, a helmet
sounds like a wild green, poke sa**** :-)
Thanks, I have all the SA now. Whew! Without you ....
yay, Merk!
brain hurts
me too :)
lol\
re7/44 8/60 combo clue please?
to stock up for a camping trip, again
?
oh, maybe that's not what it actually means. to restock a factory?
brain hurs LOL

the R7/8 really seem like they should be hyphenated
doh!! thanks, fmitch!!

ty mia! good clue.
also looking for the last sp 6/21. i have the plural of stories
hi ScoutsMom!
mia - if you have the sp6/21 - meaning lengthy story, then the sp7 is the one who tells it.
hmm, the re 10/70. starts with re, then would be a canvas building but with different first letter, then the opposite of more
thanks Unc!
Thank you, Unca!!!
well, off to teach bowling, back later
i don't know the german word for player :/
later Uncagain!
and babble fish presents: "more player". haha
mia, German for play is the same as the English for long story... add the "one who" ending
mia - you already have the sp5 that means extravagent story (it also looks like the german word for play) - expand on the 5 to get the 7

This is so disheartening. Every time I've had the chance to get on here today there's been a problem.
yw hurshy, he was nice and that troll was awful. I guess you're online again :-)
yup, internet back.
now the site is back to speed. I am so confused! LOL
he didn't understand about trolls, he's never chatted online before
he was like "what's a troll?"
well, I hope he won't be discouraged...
and "maybe it's just someone who doesn't know what they are doing"
that's how I felt the first time a troll was in the log. This time, I got myself a reputation for being "assertive" LOL
go stid! :)
lol, that guy last night? what an annoyance
i said dad, trust me, if stidmama says to ignore them and they asked for my real name, that is DEFINITELY a troll!!
i was nice at first, then just shut up to him

I noticed the theme was "Rainforest Creatures" and so I thought, "here's my chance to be really, REALLY evil"......LOL
Why can't I rereel?

English is a strange language...... For example: * We polish the Polish furniture. * He would lead if he would get the lead out. * A farm can produce produce. * The dump was so full it had to refuse refuse. * The soldier decided to desert in the desert. * The present is a good time to present the present. * At the Army base, a bass was painted on the head of a bass drum. * The dove dove into the bushes. * I did not object to the object. * The insurance for the invalid was invalid. * The bandage was wound around the wound. * There was a row among the oarsmen about how to row. * They were too close to the door to close it. * The buck does funny things when the does are present. * They sent a sewer down to stitch the tear in the sewer line. * To help with planting, the farmer taught his sow to sow. * After a number of Novocaine injections, my jaw got number.

Ah yes, entering the "why did I start this, again?" phase.
debbinia, I see you are a Mets fan. are you a transplanted new yorker? I live with Met fans. I, myself, am a true blue Yankee fan
vi - i NEVER think that. i MUST babble, there is no question about it.
True. I guess you demonstrated that amply with yesterday's effort!
i'm a true blue met fan that lives in l.a.a - and i was looking forward to watching a double header while babbling - but it seems to be raining in ny ! sorry about the yankee fan thing :-)
except when i'm in europe for five weeks. then i might not be able to babble much.
What are will you be doing in Europe? Vacation?
deb, it has been raining for days now. i will ignore your condolences about my Yankee fan status.
how dreary ! i miss ny ..... but my mets are coming out to l.a. on monday - so i'll get a little fix

hi helen, hope all is well with your dogs
i just travelled to italy - it's awesome - hope you have a great time
hi helen
yeah hursh- you know you are in need professional help when you need to play babble by proxy, LOL
hiya feather, hi annie
well helen, i just thought, if i could, i might as well. if it had been a big puzzle i wouldnt' have - or if i had known how the site was going to behave!!
kennel cough is just canine bronchitis, only the little one seems to have it & i know she caught it from son-in-law's new puppy - on the other hand, the new puppy must spend the entire weekend at the vet on a nebulizer!
oops, kids are up, and now we're off to family mini-reunion. I'll be back later to finish.
so hursh - whaddya think, will the addiction run in your family now? lol
bye, vicuna
wow, a puppy on a nebulizer...i don't envy that vet!
i feel really bad for both bub (the son-in-law) & the puppy -cause she doesn't act at all sick & is as rambunctious (sp?) as get git-go!
dunno helen - he seemed a little interested but working full time with a long commute leaves little time for babble
laptops!
but he drives, not train...
redlights & laptops then
lol, helen's gonna find a way!
yep feather, where there's a will, there's a way!
he prob doesn't have that much will :)
aww, i wanted "spidee" to work...
lol, the letters don't even work that way now that i look more closely
ok, i greyed out 3 more boxes, still listless - 51 to go though
oh helen, i did yesterday's listless!
hi
not going to do it today though, don't have the time later
tonight's bunco night, weeeee!
gotta do some gardening when i come back & the next block is having a block party with live bands so i probabbly won't be back til later
wtg feather! i must go now, but i want to know what bunco is, it's one of those things often heard-little known for me - you must tell me all about it !
Hi Samy you decided to join us

i think it's what jesus told lazarus to do
oh, i remember i put that in when the site was having trouble and that's why it isn't here now
BTW if you have problems with the site, you need to email Dr. God--he thinks there's be no prob since a couple of days ago . . .
been no prob
ha, wow
just had to refresh, there it is.
don't want him to think i'm just being curmudgeonly!

do you know, i got the pi7 quite easily because i recently read seymour hersch's "chain of command" and apparently people in the government and the military use that term to refer to each other quite frequently!

Hi Stid
heyFran, I have 91 to go. it's a tough puzzle. I've already gone to the list...
hi munner! is that a capuchin?
Clue for one of first two qu 5/16. I have the strange and the regal.
i just went to the list with about 85 to go
marcel was a capuchin...
Yes, I'm a sucker for any kind of monkey. Whenever I used to tell my Vietnamese students I liked monkeys, they thought it was hysterical.
then I feel better about the list if you did too Fran!
hurshy, that is a lovely bird.
I've been using the list since word 115.
Munner, yeah, that's only because the Vietnamese kids thought monkies were delicious!
Ditto on hurshy's beautiful bird
the other qu is spelled differently from the regal by one vowel - it means quite the opposite of regal.
munner, the regal has a different spelling, comes before the common one
That was it. Thanks, Fran.
And mab
this is a harder grid, i'm just proud of the fact that i found all the Qs without the list and without any clues!

ty -- that was hard! LOL Fran, I figured it probably wasn't going to work for me...
lynxxx, add on to di4/4, ** you like it
Ah, I'm back.
Now I need to remember where I was.
lynxxx, is5/10 is a japanese word that means first generation, we usually see the ni*** which means second generation
hi pwinn!
hi pwinn!
lynxxx, it starts from the bottom i if that helps
Fran, TY again, lynxxx asked about my stumper just then.... I's are done!

TY Fran and Mich and lynxxx!
I'm missing an 'F' word. I've got the 4/8, 4/7, 5/16, 5/22, and 6/36.
Never mind.
I'm a dummy.
another f4/7
like the first 4/7, but in italian
oh, pwinn, you aren't a dummy, we just get shell-shocked sometimes and can't see the nost in front of our faces :)
Thank, Fran. Seems like I often need only ask to make myself see words.
or the *nose
Mich, I do that *a lot*
btw, your icon is adorable
Seems like everybody else here is female, so I threw something "cute" on there. My kids love it.
not everyone, pwinn, but at least on the frappr map the fellas are outnumbered about 4 to 1...
we have guys, but you're right that the majority are of the female persuasion. Your kids show good taste!
stid, is that iris in your garden?
My kids == girls. (Actually, I have a son, too, but he's five, so he doesn't think he has to prove he's macho yet.)
the guys are never on at the same time either
yes, one of the ones down near the orchard.
I have flowers scattered all over -- I like to say there are moments of beauty in chaos (at least in our garden)
pwinn, he can be the gruff bulldog who's caught being a big old softie, lol
pwinn, have you seen the poem that goes along with that picture?
I've seen other guys once or twice, but it seems rare.
Nope, LA, can't say that I have.
okay, I am stuck on the first la 5/10 please...
la*** the cable guy
stid, I'm going with that philosophy, too. the first la is an alt sp. of La**** the Cable Guy
spelled differently of course
hmmm, i will see if i can find it
thanks Mich and Fran
hey everyone!
hello Maddie
hi maddie!
hey Maddie
Hi, Maddie.
la 5/10 - 6/18 combo please?
how are we all?? how is the puzzle this fine day!!!
that was the clue we gave stid
The 6/18 is the plural of the 5/10, which we can't give you for f***. Er, with those at the end of la, of course.
oh -- hm. I guess I got it wrong, but still got two words out of it! LOL
it's not really a poem, just a story that leads up to pwinn's icon:
ah ha! sound-alikes! got them. thanks.
Dark and Stormy Night An incredible love story... They were together in the House. Just the two of them. It was a cold, dark, stormy night. The storm had come quickly and each time the thunder boomed he watched her jump. She looked across the room and admired his strong appearance...and wished that he would take her in his arms, comfort her and protect her from the storm. She wanted that... more than anything. Suddenly, with a pop, the power went out... She screamed... He raced to the sofa where she was cowering. He didn't hesitate to pull her into his arms. He knew this was a forbidden union andexpected her to pull back. He was surprised when she didn't resist but instead clung to him. The storm raged on...as did their growing passion. And there came a moment when each knew that they had to be together. They knew it was wrong... Their families would never understand... So consumed were they in their passion that they heard no opening of doors...just the faint click of a camera......
i knew you would stid
down to 60 now! really zooming along today, LOL
How nice, LA. Maybe I'll change my icon soon... ;-)
LeslieAnn -- that is very very silly!

later mich!! hi minski!
we're going for the scary movies now......if you hear a scream - it's only me....
been there minski, my SAs were all jumbled too
sa plus a biblical wrong, minski
Those are the only 2 S words I'm missing if you need some help.
i finished already, trying to figure out which ones you need minski
yes i need help!!!!!!!!!!
the sa6/18 is first 3 letters of not crazy + first 3 letters of what a car sits on
Don't get excited. I still have 67 words left to find. I'm just working my way up from the bottom and am done up to the SA words.
there is no sa4/4 between not crazy and indian clothing
no, it's s plus picnic bug plus three letter word for angry, but drop the final letter.
oi oi oi
brb, gotta put kids to bed. Owe one a game of "lego soccer" first, may take a while.
hi mab!
later pwinn!
later pwinn - hiya mab!

aknitter, it's a japanese word that means first generation, starts from the bottom i
hmmm, my japanese is limited to please and thank you!
i + double consonant + "old macdonald had a farm ** ** O"
You took the words right out of my keyboard aknitter.
huh! found it -- gotta love google
Thanks renfield.
good clue ren, googled it before i read that
sure minski.... it's ok ak - i had fun w/ it!
hi again... I need the last two AL words please, a 6/18 and a 7
could I have some AL clues please?
i hate the q words
al 4/4 more than 1 beer
stid, it's the part of the gene that carries traits, everything + anagram of the slippery fish
and plural of course
al 4/4 leward
TY Fran!
yw stid!
I need a TE 4,4 word that is early in the list.
how many al's are there
there's also the singular and plural of the french spelling for a pathway running behind a building
al 5/10 stick an extra stick in the leward!
merk - like the te that is a color, or what you get when you cry?
6 ALs
evening all
hi scatty!
hi scatty! I haven't seen you forever! I was a little worried. Are you okay?
hey scatty
I have those and the sesame oil.
The thing used in golf
don't have the french path al's, don't speak french
The thing used in golf
Sesame oil?
aknitter, they are the away from the wind with the extra L ones
Morning all - came back to finish - got shut out yesterday afternoon and couldn't get back on.
so I think I'm missing the one after the golf gadget
knitter-just take the away from the wind one and double the consonant and the vowels
hi dianne!
Hello Dianne!
went to Holland for a week and been trying to sort out my greenhouse for the past couple of days, the plants went mad while i was away
could I get a different clue for the sesame oil?
te + do re me fa so ** ti do
merk, there is one before the golf thing, just change last consonant, sounds like the color one
oh, I hope you had a good time in Holland! what's blooming (there and in your garden)?
sesame oil is the anagram of the story TA
souns like the 1st te color harp
Fran, that one is the sesame oil. sounds like the color. I have it.
how many letters?
4
no 6/18?
because of the outrageous rains here the plants all look as if they are on steroids. And the last of the tulips got blown away in the wind and rain.
the petunias have flowered as the slugs for some reason don't like them, i've been told to buy some grapefruits, the slugs prefer them to the flowers , anything is worth a try, every morning a plant has been eaten
and na 5/10 also...
ok, let me ask this another way, is the sesame oil AL4?
I have the color, the crying, the sesame oil that sounds like the color, the golf gadget. Then I think I am missing one before we move on to the one that means web-like
no te 4
stid, the NA rhymes with Indian clothing
oh man -- that's no good. The slugs got all my zinnias this year....
na 5/10 -- lika a nostril
You think there is a mistake in the puzzle? Gasp!
hey everyone!
na5/10 - think French city
TY Ping and knitter!
their favourates at the moment are the asters, followered closely by the marigolds
Lickety says there are nine TE 4 words. I have found eight and the ninth one is driving me crazy.
I thought marigolds killed slugs
wishful thinking
tent
merk did you get the one that rhymes with the color at the beginning?
eep - sorry
there are 9 merk
I am not even trying asters this year -- but marigolds are usually safe here.
caravan, dino -- I don't like sleeping on the ground...
yes, there are 9
So I think I've figured out that I am missing the one after golf gadget and before the one that means weblike and its plural
te - color, te - cry, te - oil, te - golf thing, te- phone, te- to blab, t4 - canvas home (there are 7 that I have)
i swear all the sliugs in the country are lining in my garden, they even managed to get over the line of salt last night
I have been on battery power and about to run out. Going to shut down for a few and back soon. :-)
wow scatty
te - web thing makes 8
one TE is a homonym for the color
te4/4, t+slippery fish
see you later stid
and then the plural
later stid!
web word is after golf thingie
te+abbrev of Louisiana
merk-color,rip,other spelling of the color,golf things,phone,boob tube,say,plural of hill,camping thing
aknitter, then you are missing the weblike one and the same one that I am missing
an clues?
I'm in Louisiana...
have the web one merk, now just missing????
Back
te5/10 that means to talk minus one L
If by phone, you mean the first four letters, I have that one. It's the one that means web like. But according to lickety, there is one between the golf gadget and the phone.
Good evening, YoBaby. I'm in Lousiana too -- Lafayette. Where are you?
see my clue at 8:51
Mom... you crack me up.
got it !!!! Take a stick out of the blab 5 merk
between golf and phone there's one that sounds like phone but ends in a diff. vowel, and its latin pl
te + do re mi fa so ** ti do
back. no 6 please?
i have that one renfield
there are supposed to be 2 or4 words - or** is to relating to the mouth - what is the other? I tried every combination possible (there aren't that many)!!!!
Hey Ma. Remember the people from Cafe des Ami today sitting in the window? We just rran into them at Chick-fil-a!
stid, plural negatives + to be
try double consonant puptone!
no6/18, start like Christmas, replace last letter with female sibling
AN words? Any clues please?
or + beginning of a cheer
LAYNE??????
I'm not going to get it.
TY Vicuna!
I didn't know that was you!!
ok merk that is the one after the golf thingie
And Fran. :-)
Tis me. Now call me and give me all the answers!
sorry harp, didn't mean to ignore you, an5/10 annoint
YOBABY? What kind of name is that for a respectable girl?
an5/10 a+not far
the next one is the phone or tv do you have that?
an4/4, against
thanx Dianne - was driving me crazy!
te 8??????
I NEVER claimed to be respectable. Never. How dare you even assert that...
then the next one is to say something such as to te** the truth
an6/18 what rudolph has two of (on his head)
stop me at any time merk
te8 is a stupid one. It means without a canvas shelter.
YoBaby, if you can get all these S's, I'll give you five dollahs.
oh not that te 8 again! that is NOt A WORD, TY VICUNA
harpjane, also plurals of two of those words
I didn't pay the frickin' $14.95 yet so i have no idea how many s's there are. Clue me in, Money Bags.
YoBaby, there are FORTY-FIVE S's from the one in the second-to-bottom row, and 5 from the one below that.
50 s words total
YoBaby -- you can always look at Lickety's list which gives those stats ;-)
merk - oh merk!!!! where are you?
siar
oops
YouBaby, you don't have to go pro to know how many there are. Click on lickety's babble clue link at the bottom, and all that info can be yours for free.
glad that was not a word lol
Thanks Stidmama. But if i find all fifty of 'em, my Layne better bust up with more than five dollahs.
(Sorry, I mean YObaby!)
how were those clues harpjane?
Thanks Stidmama. But if i find all fifty of 'em, my Layne better bust up with more than five dollahs.
There is no respect for parents anymore.
Vicuna, I kinda like YouBaby... i might have to change my name.
YoBaby, Brenna leaves for 13 days of camp in Texas tomorrow morning.
You wouldn't change it to YoKid, and then maybe a little later to YoTeen...?
Then YoMama.

She walked to the kitchen and got herself a lovely glass of water. She walked to the bathroom and brushed her teeth. She walked to her bed and fell sound asleep...

geeze! i hope jac wasn't really mad about that...
i don't think so featherbee! it was just funny.
di 7.32?
oh, ok, good ;)
wassup, make disparaging remarks about a chair
wassup - stupidhead prefix word - after the 3 letter prefix add an se4/4
usually i'm all for clues...i guess i was just on a roll then and didn't want to inadvertently see one before i got it, if that makes sense
feather when i am doing that i resize the window so i can't see the chatbox
i understand, sometimes i don't want clues until i've exhausted my options
ah, got it. thanks
good point hursh, i should have just clicked on the my friends tab and hidden it! oh well
i'm checking of my qu-s...i'm sure i'll be asking in a minute!
ok how about as 5/12?
if you have the 4 after it, stick yourself in before the end
good clue, thanks
Here I am hours later still looking for my final word. It is a TE 4,4.
te5/10 after bank person with single cons instead of double, merk?
merk, take te5/10 that has to do with talking and take one of the Ls out
qu 7/40 please?
more strange feather
ahh, ty!
ar 7/28 please and thank you
bbl, have to cook dinner
I wrote about it for help earlier. I have 'the color' the crying, the homonym of the color, the golf gadget, the weblike structure, the one that is the beginning of the phone word, to say something, and the canvas camping
feather: MORE strange
di 7>
merk... i believe fran and i both gave you clues for the one you need, then
mag: it's the plural of a genetic thing. take one of the al 6/18's and make it plural
di 7/21 anyone?
ar7 - not manipulative
thanks fig
merk - you need the plural of to say something minus one of the double consonants
Looking at lickety, there are three TE 4 words between the cryer and the one that means weblike. I am missing one in there. Help please. I need to go to bed.
i'm mising a qu 5/16. i have the royal one, the odd one, and the one to calm something.
i mean di 7/32
homophone of royal one feather
But if TE you something and take away one of the consonant, I have a three letter word.
got it hurshy!
take it away from the 5/10 merk, as i said
fig, di 7/32 is to make someone stand up
not if you use the plural one
I see what you mean renfield, I have that one already.
ah1 thanks
rennnnnnnieeeee
nutty buddy!!!!
en 6/18?
merk, i don't understand, you seem to have listed all the others...
I count 17 TE words and nine of them are TE 4. I have sixteen words, eight TE.
I'll try again.
you disappeared!
wassup - to put someone on aruba or haiti or australia
color, cry and pl, homonym of color
golf gadget
hehe, good clue
weblike structure, phone, talking, take the tall consonant out and add pl, camping
well you've just listed nine te4 and that's how many there are
that's 9 te 4's merk
Groan, I count that, too, but I'm missing something.
did anybody clue for EN 6/18?
i see it now, sorry
check clue from hurshy at 9:58
but i can't figure out the 7
en7 - tolkein's tree-herder creature plus "this item is sold ** **, no alterations"
the en 5 has me going in circles....
en5 tree-herder creature plus two vowels
thanks hurshy
Good grief!! I had one in the wrong box. I needed a plural of the homonymn. Thanks for much for making me think straight. I'm finished and must go to bed. I'm doing a half marathon tomorrow.
en7 is i think an architectural or structural term meaning to add convex curves
sweet dreams merk!
not that that helps, but it is interesting
thanks hursh. anotehr one slippnig past me.
or perhaps fig, you could add ms. mowry, twin of tamera (i think what you add is also spanish for aunt or something)
Thanks, renfield, g'night
need either se 5/10's please
hahaha...i get it
got it
se 5/10 river in france
se 5/10 s + she in france

ri 6/27, sketchy, as scanty clothing or a questionable magazine
se 7.40?
hurshy, she'll sprite me, I am only halfway "here" today...
ah, thanks!
*waiting for wassups clue*
to sprite: v., to overtake someone in babble and finish before them despite having had more words to go
Wahoo!! thank god i'm done, i think i have a permanent knot in my back!!
se7 add vowel to se6 (second book or movie)
YAY froelica!

anj invented the whole fish system.
oooooh, gotcha!
now what the heck is the se 8.40?
sorry, 8/55
latin pl of se7

YAY harpjane!
*takes another pic of harp so we have a before and after*
congrats harp!
again harpjane?
fireman: ma'am, didn't you know your house was burning down around you? harpjane: well, yes, but i only had 3 more words to go in babble!
no, same beep. new stove. can't figure out how to broil without burning things....
hehehe
honest, i can quit any time.....
to paraphrase the congregants of the church of the quivering brethren... "the earth may burn but we will babble"
yeah, sure. "hi, my name is sarah and I'm a babbleholic
ROFL
it all depends on your point of view. some see it as addiction, but i prefer to think of it as steadfast loyalty, devotion, and steely determination.
that reminds me of a simpsons quote: (Dr. Hibbert told Homer he was a rageaholic) Homer- "oh, its true! i can't live without rageahol!"
lol froelica
some people have a steadfast loyalty to heroin
:)
by the way, love your new icon and quote froelich
i knew you would!
well bedtime for hurshy
see y'all later
might have to watch that tonight
night hurshy, thanks for hte help
bye hurshy
i just watched it :) bye hurshy
bye hurshy
bye hurshy! good night!
ok, help please?? i need the last se 6/27 and a random se 4/4 in the middle (right before the 4/7 I think)
wish I had time to enter the fray today, but no. Hope to see y'all tomorrow...
i'm looking for se8 please?
hey everyone... I'm back. Got one kiddo in bed and the other in the tub... time to sneak in some babble !!!
missing an sa5/10. i have: plural of a bargain, plural of a wrapped cloth dress, plural of what sounds like a major high school test and a vowel
hi Jillibus! hope you had a lovely day today!
seas
think- on a gaudy dress (is that spelled right?)
oh duh! vegas betty!
al 6/18 please
se 8? please?
se8?
jeffer there are 2 al 6/18's
(vegas betty, that's what we called connie before we liked her...)
another spelling of the wrapped dress, feather
that's great : )
o ok can i have the one i'm missing?
1st al 6 = al 5/10 plural
renfield, i think the second one, please
hi jeffer.
hi stidmama
se 8? (still)
se 8 is the 6/27 + latin pl
I have 12 left, btw!
2nd al 6/18 =al 5/10 insert consonant ( sounds like the places found between buildings in the city)
stid, take your 7/40 and add a vowel
ty renfield!
i'm not getting your clue for the sa5/10...i think i have the one you mean. it's like the wrapped dress, just one consonant different?
ok...i've tried the se6 with an ai and an ea on the end...neither works and i see no other way??? help...i guess i need the phish slap
me too cathy... feather, instead of a single last vowel, a double vowel on the end
33 to go!
double vowel on the end doesn't work...they're used up
i bet you can finish with time to spare!
ae
se 8 - add the 2nd vowel to se 7
stid????? i'm so confused! lol! with the word i'm working with, (sounds like you're apologizing when you say it) there's no way to add a double vowel
i should probably take a shower sometime today.... be back in few
it worked with the ae jeffer, but it doesn't logically fit in the puzzle as the e for the ae is used in the first part of the word...
once again, jeffer to the rescue! cathy did you catch that?
see ya!
ya...i caught it, but it isn't workable as far as the letter layout goes, but the word worked
tks jeffer anyhow
yw
the first e is used as the second letter in the word..therefore...it cannot be used again
ok stid and cathy, start with what Mission Impossible II is called...a se**** (se 6/27). add a vowel for the 7/40, add yet another vowel for the 8/55
but...it was... i think dr. god messed up this time or else my eyes deceive me
we got it feather
ok
tks tho
i'm still lost on that sa 5/10
I am missing an se 4/4 (hangs head in shame) after the se 6/18...
it goes up not down
oh.......sheesh...i see it now... i went in the wrong direction with the "l".... hit me with 50 phish
cathy, i see what you mean. had me fooled for a minute too.
wow...that was a toughie
nvm, it was a fish!
stid, do you have the spanish number?
10 to go!
go sitd
31 here stid!
wassup...we both have our dogs as our icons...guess that makes our way of seeing that word the same at least...lol
go stidmama
:)
stid's on the countdown to fireworks
go feather go!
it feels so good when you stop, stid & feather!
i still have 78 left... but i have the 10 and all 8's at least...with help of course from y'all

never heard of that is word b4 tho
no the song
lol, oh...other sp 6/21 please? i didn't see there were two
oops, neither did i. take the backbone, lose the last vowell, add a conjunction
down to three...
go sitd
How long until the new puzzle starts?
got it :)
2....
bowdy, sure, we can all quit anytime.....we get a new puzzle at midnight Central Daylight Time, one hour and 13 minutes from now
go stid!
tks harp... can i have a clue for the other sp? i didn't know there were 2
go featherbee!
but who's counting, right?
lol, i want to at least be pretty far down when she finishes!
i thought wrongly i had the clue for the last two al/ 's : al 6/ and al 7/ please
Not quitting ... was just wondering how much time i have to finish it
76 left for me...methinks all hope of getting close to finishing is lost
Trying to do it without clues :S
less than an hour bowdy
on sp6/21 is after the backbone, the other one is after the song one, plural. rhymes with fishing or virginia r***
jeffer, genetics word, everything + anagram of slippery fish and then plural
ONE!
go stid
which one stid?
oh - i just saw the time which this game is set to is next to each message :p haha
if i can't make it...perhaps i can help/learn on something?
i dunno cathyr, there's 76 minutes left, aren't there? lol

i my gosh i just tried to squish a spider on my desk and it disappeared now its out for blood and pissed off!!!!!
you need to go pro (pay the fee) Bowdy.
ti + not crazy
ti +sa 4/4
eww froelica! ty harp!
haha!
eeek!! a spider!!
i'm so scared.....
Really? Haha stuff that - so much for "free". You pay just for a little flag next to your name?
i hope it's not poisonous froelica!
SA 6/18 - not the one that is sticky
the first di 6/21?
no bowdy, you also get tile stats and word stats, plus your fee helps maintain the site and keep it up.
froelic, we're watching a show on discovery about siafu ants. they just took down a rat
thanks!! i need moral support here! i called stew (my beagle) over to sit next to me cause he eats em
wowza
sa6/18, is first 3 letters of not crazy + first 3 letters of what cars sit on
Thats good i spose cos this game is cool
Tile and word stats? I'm pretty sure i have them and i haven't paid ...
you get them for the first 14 days after you join, then they will disappear...
thanks, fran!
di 6/21 is not be alive + short for a sibling
Froelica - beagles r the best!
ty
oh really? That sucks - thetile stats and word stats make this game :P
i know he's so sweet and cute. he also drives me to the brink of insanity sometimes, but i love him :)
clue for the ps4?
no Bowdy, the chat and the challenge make the game... the tile and word stats just make it a little easier
psid
cathyar, ps+to be
ps + "to be"
I'd die in a hole without the stats lol
or, you can ask for help from the list... ;-)
di 6/24? these last few are the ones that eluded me!
feather, chips and **** + ** you like it
di 6/24: a small hole +not brother
sorry, ignore mine feather!
lol, i was trying to figure what i did wrong!!
stid you have that ending on the brain!!
i'm hopeless by now...28 left and i havent gotten anything for 5 minutes
got it...yours was close stid!
good morining everyonew
I know -- I always wanted one, but all I got was a little brother. LOL
hi aleksia
one thing about this grid--almost all the letters are one point. makes it easy to figure out the values. For example if a 5 letter word is 12 points, it must contain p or d. no other choices
go wassup go!
http://www.zefrank.com/scribbler/
and all i got was the sibling ending!! 2 of them
just found a fun link, listed below
but, it also makes it hard to sort out the ones that are all made with 1 point letters harp!!
that's cool harp!
did things just freeze up or are we just being quiet?
yes fran, that's the down side
lol, i bet a lot are doing that scribble!
we're all thinking, or playing scribbler
ok, back to grid...i only have the first en
feather -- you need to finish!
lol i know!
the next en (en 7): en + british abbrev. for ""Thanks Alot" +not brother (for real this time)
the last en5: en +spanish for "aunt"
got em!
i'm missing stupid le ones...i'll tell ya in a few if i don't get em
I'm missing an SE 4 - it's in between spanish for 6 and to exchange an item for money
feather, i have missing LEs too
ping, there isn't one in between those two words
spanish 6 is se 4/4, then there is another 4/4, then there is a 5/10... Ping is that 4/4 what you are looking for?
ok, i'm missing the second le 5/10...maybe that one will help me figure out where the le 4/4 is i'm missing
i'm gonna go watch tv for a few, give the spider some time to chill out and reflect on why he wants to attack me. be back at the flip!
maybe it's the se4/7 that sounds like a place to put your valuables
later froelica
le 5/10: sierra le***
featherbee, sierra le***
Fran, my head is not big enough for both of us!
stid, i must have things mixed up - looks like i do have that one - hang on
see you froelica
i'm embarrassed to say i have no clue what that might be!
maybe you're in mine, i have a splitting headache right now!!
featherbee, le+opp of off+E
*hands over a warm mochajavachocolatte...*
oooohhhhhh.... thanks!
thank you so much stid! i wish i had one for real
okay, now I think the one I'm missing is the SE between visionary and sounds like where you keep valuables
bye ashley
i was missing the le 4/4 that is a plural of flower necklaces....stupid thing is i was wearing one all night at bunco tonight!!!
there isn't one in between those either, but there is an se4/4 that sounds like a barking animal
no, I think you want the one before visionary... past tense of "views" and then there is a homophone of the first se 4/4 before that....
did Cathy leave after all?
1st le 4?
fran, the one with with a ball on its nose - i have that one
na 5/10? and why is it i'm missing easy ones?
le + first name of Vice Pres. Gore...
wassup, le+mr gore
thanks, could swear i'd tried that
na 5/10 was not easy for me...
i think it may be hard because there are soooo many one point choices!
i still haven't figured out how sq 8/55 can be worked into the grid. don't bother now but please someone explain after the flip -- or before if you're not in a rush!
sort of like the "nose" one, na +anagram of sir
got it, ty
hi jill -- there are three Es all together. you can make the word if you use the top two Es first and save the lower one for last.
no 6/18?
i'm not sure i understand your question jill, sq 8 means "those who sq6" which means "the sound a pig makes"
home stretch here, only 6 left
no + vowel + opp or brother again...
jill, start with the top S, head NE, then W,SW,N,NE and end at the first R
stupid opp of brother! i keep missing that!
go feather go!
go feather
much better Fran, I think I am starting to confuse myself! LOL
20 to go!
jil...i had the same trouble...se6/27 + latin plural... look up instead of to the left with your "l"
go wassup! woo-hoo!
go feather
sa 6/18?
i still have 66 left
hi Cathy! how many left now?
well, we can try...
feather, first 3 letters of not crazy + first 3 letters of a word that means drowsy
and only 39 mins left to find em
blahh
Oh thanks. I haven't learned the trick of thinking diagonally and upside down like the dilbert person! Whoof.
I'm still missing an SE word - i have circus animal, grill word, oceans, chair, homonym for circus animal, visionary, sounds like valuables box, spanish for 6, and trade for money - help?
those are SE 4s by the way
sa 6/18 which one? the first sounds like the greens you eat with dinner. The second starts like mr Claus and ends like "one who" with an i instead of an e
ping, past participle of to see
missing the greens one...
it's a twisted one for sure jill!
i wish the grid flipped at midnight for me. 10 is too close to when the kids go to bed. not enough ME time before the flip
thanks fran, i knew it would be embarassing! - i appreciate it
just not enough time in general here, wassup!
di 6/21 (first one)?
ping, it takes a couple of turns, not obvious!
got it! down to my last one...
65 left... can i have a clue for the r at the top right?
wassup, opp of "live" + opp of brother again
I was up until 3 am PDT and had stuff to do this aft so gave up. Back after the flip and good luck to all.
just to at least give me another box finished?
