Hey everyone...It's not too bad. I'm trying to find three more words so I can go to bed! That will leave me with 20 for tomorrow.

hi miss abs
hows the grid today
Hello, Miss ABS... I had to change into my frozen confection and I must say, I'm looking incredibly yummy!
great snith
could i please have some clues for the eight letters
or the four letters
There are no 8's.
there isn't an 8 today
or the fours!
there may not be an 8 letter word, but the ve 7 has me stumped..I didn't get the hunting clue
I didn't get it either, pinecone...
Perhaps I'm in*** at this game!
veni***
ve + en6/21
any four letters
can you give a clue as to the EN 6/21?
Well...I don't have the en6 either.
a clue was given en + the top floor of a house
en + room near roof
thanks mymuseisme..I finally got that pesky ve 7
TY, wouldn't have gotten either of those without clues!
What does the other 7 start with?
Hello all, my student just left for the evening. Poor thing was here till nearly 5PM.
thanks pinecone and smithchick
sa
yvw
I might head home myself and perhaps pop on to play a bit. Have a good night all and I'll see you later.
night
bye miss abs
Good Night, Miss ABS!
Morning - how's today's puzzle?
bye miss abs
mymuse, do you have a clue on the other 7 letter word?
morning matty
Hi matty...It isn't too bad. I've been on just under an hour and I've got 17 to go with no list.
all I know is it begins with sa/ don't have it myself yet
Oooh - no very long words. Result!
thanks, I'll let you know if I get it
I think sn***pit should be a word.
I didn't see that, but I agree with you
not listed as a compound word
Enable errs again!
What in the world could the K's be (and for that matter the Us)
try a lot of 4 letter combos for the ks...including double vowels
I've got a ut4/5 and a uv4/8...ka4/8 x2, ke4/9 and kh4/9...
plural that uv4/8
Well duh! Pass the fish!!
lol easy to miss with all those vowels
hello
Cheers for that - I now have all the Us and 4 of the Ks (I have ka4/8 x 2, ke4/9 and kh4/9. And stupid words they are, too).
I should probably get off of here and go to bed. I'm seeing my son off in the morning. He's going to Florida to spend a couple of weeks with my sister. Her hubby is picking him up on his way through tomorrow.
Hi, egm.
I'm with you on that, matty!
hi egm
another ke, just change last letter of the one you have
Oh, I am sooo stupid. Of all the K words I'd yet found, that's the only real word. And I needed it clued. *sigh*. One K left.
well time for me to hit the sack...nite all and have a happy tomorrow!
the other is a french cap matty
Bye, muse!
bye smith!
Really? Well well well - learn something new every day. The other ke is a French cap, or the missing K?
thanks mymuse, have a good night
Did anyone ever clue the sa7?
i'm still working on it, and i don't know if anyone else has it
sa7 - it's a kind of grass. But it is easier to get if you think sa+ meow +opp of off.
Thanks, Dianne!
thanks Dianne
you are all welcome :)
ouda
well clued dianne thanks x
oops........
I think I'm gonna break out the list so I'll get finished tonight, and then I may actually be productive tomorrow!
does anyone have anyclues
Meow?
matty - arf = dog, meow = ?
Got it - must remember the left hand side of the board!
maven
thanks dianne. I got the sa
thanks for asking that, Matty - i couldn't figure it out either. Morning all! And thx Dianne for the sa

I'm with you, Dianne.
I hardly ever chat until I have finished the grid just because of this set-up. Glad to know I have company.

Bye, egm!

morning mickie12
bye egm
Morning, mickie!
am off myself bbl hopefully have a good day everybody
Bye, jean!
bye jean yc !!
TC*
stuck on meow too...
okay, so i'm stuck on the KA 4/8 - i've got the one that is a different spelling of "Sugar C***", it's the other I'm having problems with...any clues?
Double your vowel and then pluralise it, JMann.
actually, I'm stuck on all of the K's except that one below and the KE 4/9 which is the opposite of "lost"
Change that consonant to a vowel on the ke4/9 (the last one)...Think of the little sporty cars for the other ke4/8 (just substitute the e for the i)
Then there is kh...Star Trek.Wrath of Kh**
Could I get a clue for the c6? It's my last word.
im done. good morning all
Morning oggy!
Good morning - I'm just starting.
I'm done too!
So there's hope? Congratulations both!
Hey Haz! I've got to go to bed, it's 3am here.Bye all!
thanks smithchick for all your help
ummm... hi everyone
have a good nite
night smith
Sleep well, SMithchick.
Hi Haz! It's one of those small and ugly ones, I'm afraid
Yes, I think that may well be an apt description.
JMann - did you get that ke4/8? I can't figure it out.
Dianne, sounds like car k***
I have no clue what I am doing.. just letting you all know
dianne - its like the small green vegitables that come in pods, just change the first letter
To get a clue, click on Angelsong's resource page, under Friends of Bablle, at the bottom of the web page, and you will find lots of information there.
JMann - I knew that word but just didn't look where I should have - thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
no problem, as you've done it for me as well
Any clues for the O, I'm just not seeing it, thanks :)
Do you know second letter/point values?
OU 4/6
No I don't Haz, sorry
o = candy called Milk **** but drop the first letter.
thanks JM
and Dianne :)
the o is like the things in baseball with a diff consonant
Thanks - got it.
thanks, got it :)
hey
its all gone a bit quiet
i know
hi uzey
hey
Hi uzey
how u doing cat9x
Good morning all...
Good oggy, and you?
yes, day off today.
good morning snark, oggy and uzey - sorry i was deep in the grid!
is dom on
A day off is always a good thing :)
Hello.. Im back!!
The y's are killing me, and clues please. Hi Preethi
Hello Preethi, this grid is making us concentrate thismorning.
I've just found one y word - ya4/8 - rhymes with another word for peculiar or strange.
And it can be pluralised.
then take that and plural it
Thanks Haz, I swear I tried that combo, thank you :)
Do you have the ladies name with the same ending?
yes, just got it, the 2 m's, thanks :)
hello all, i'm here briefly, but i must say these ridiculous words are considerably off-putting!
Good morning jillibus. It's the sort of grid where you feel you're picking the words out with tweezers! There are some nice words, though.
Hi Jilli, I agree :) 30 left and I am pulling my hair out
With the K in the middle, I keep trying to include it in all the words I keep monkey typing
Hello everyone!!
Good evening Jemma!
Hi Jemma
hello jemma
Haz!!!!You got it right!!!And hello again Cat and Jilli!!
I remembered just in time!
I keep wantin The Kraken Wakes
Yeah, How many words today, my 14 day trail has just ran out!!what does that mean???
kant
109 beastly ones, jemma
oops ...good morning all
109 words total. It means that you won't get the stats panel to show you how many words are coming off each letter.
109 Jemma, means you no longer get the stat panels
Good morning Kallia.
Good morning Kallia.
Hi Kalia
Sorry - didn't mean to post twice, post twice.
this looks as if it may be a struggle today
Is that bad cat?
Beastly is an excellent word for this grid.
Kallia, hi. I think there are some words a scots lassie could know -- otherwise...
It is a hard one!!
Well, that was a nasty one! These are the grids I really dislike - short and full of ridiculous words no one's ever heard of. Will stick around for a while if anyone needs clues
It is very challenging Jemma
be back soon!
It's a test of vocabulary and endurance. My vocabulary has about run out at 62 words.
I'm feeling stupid....I can't find the KAs. :-(
congrats amanda for finsishing, any hair left? :)
the snark - put one more a into what you have written about the KAs.
Don't feel stupid snark. one has a double vowel with snake letter at the end. the other, think the movie, Citizen ****
Thanx Haz and Cat - I'm glad someone's kept their brain. :-)
Am I showing my age on the movie clue. Its a classic, so not sure how many younger one's will kn ow it
you're welcome snark :)
Maddie26 are you there?
hey everyone! how many words today?
As you say, Cat, it IS a classic, so they should get it.
109 - and you'll regret each one.
Maddie, has your 14 day trial run out??mine has!!)-:
(and I say that with love). :-)
yes jemma
lol snark, you got that one right :)
Wouldn't even have attempted the thing without the list - I'd like to keep my hair a bit longer!
I'm slowly losing mine amanda, no list yet.
it's really bad. now we can't see the stats!!
29 left
Exactly Jemma, that is why when my free trial ran out, I paid to go pro.
hi again everyone
but cat, is it worth it???because i am younger do you think i should??
hi saph!!
Hi saphyre
Hello Saph
ok I have 13 to go, this one was tough
I think it is well worth the money. It's a good investment Jemma, it is helping you to learn new words.
Jemma - see how you get on without the stats first. Don't forget to look for the shorter words. This grid is difficult, so you will not be able to get sequences going.
yeah i guess!!i'll think about it!!
haz, i am really struggling!!
How many words have you got?
8!!!!!
If I give you some clues to find four letter words with k in them, will that help?
YES!
I have 36 words, some of which are recognisable, so I'm going to bed and won't have much time tomorrow to try for more via the A2Z and the good clue-givers who have assembled a list of the rubbish words for future use
kean
Sleep well Jili, rubbish words, I agree
Okay - there is a title for a noble gentleman, there is a fish (ha4), there is something that is baked, you say it after 'for goodness ****', there is a word meaning to manufacture or create, and a word meaning to grab.
switch those letters around Jili for ka4/8 :)
Kean doesn't work althoughI keep hoping!
I had that cat, thanx!
The other ke jili, would you like a clue?
oops, mean, one of the others
ive got most of them, but i don't understand the first 2!
I have 2 ka, 2ke and kh...what am I missing please
there is another ke Kallia
Jemma - some words with v in them. A word meaning jealousy (en4/9), a word meaning either a country's collection of ships or a shade of blue, to possess, and then put a letter on the possess word to find a retreat, or oasis of calm.
oK, yes please, I have one ke, the first one. And then I AM going to be!
ke4/9
cat is that 3 ke4/9?
The noble gentlemans title is du4/10, the fish is ha4/9, Jemma. Both words end in the same vowel, so you should be able to work them out ...
ke plus a piece of **e, change the last letter to a consonant for the other ke4/9
hey guys, it's hurshy at the zurich airport!
hey hurshy
is this a quick 109 or a slow 109?
one ke4/6, 2 ke4/9
why are you @ the airport?
oops, ke4/8, sorry
hi hurshy -- zurich????
ok its the 6 I miss thank you
travelling. layover between flights
cool!
hurshy - for you it should be quick :)
SLOOOOW, hurshy
Hi Hurshy
want to know if i have time to complete babble before flight to rome.... probably not, eh? flight is in about an hour, and of course we have to board before that... i should wait til we get to rome.
you're welcome Kallia
jump in now - you'll be half way through before you board.
clue for an 5/10, please?
oops cat there can't be a ke4/6 can there?
yes but dianne what if i end up not being able to get online later?!?!
Ok everyone, must go now!!Happy Babbling!Don't give up!!!!Bye Haz, Hurshy(have a safe trip), Jillibus,Cat and everyone else. and maddie if you are still there??Buh-Bye!
G'nite all. I give up
no, typo sorry, its ke4/8

ylleria -latin plural of an4/4 - an plus the start of Fergie's name (Duchess of York rather than Alex)
Bye Jili
Buh-Bye!!Goodnight Haz!!LOL
well i am assuming i'll have wireless at the hotel. but i think i will wait and play then. :)
Bye Jemma - I'm off as well.
bye Jemma and Haz
sudoku on the other hand i would have time to finish - not that it matters since we can play archives anytime.
so use the layover time to write down the words.
OK, talk to you again some other time!!BYE(-:
thanks, Haz!
Bye Cat!!Gr8 talking to you again!!
Hi hurshy...thought you were off for 2 weeks :)
lol dianne, that would take so long - i type so much faster than i write...and i'll see the same words later as i would now.
BYE EVERYONE!!!(-: LOL
kallia - 5! but i TOLD y'all i would be on anyway, nobody believed me i guess...
sa 7/32? anyone?
nope I guess not :)
sa plus my name :) plus not off but **
ok its Jac who is off for 2 then..
the wireless age is a beautiful thing.
yes jac to crete for 2 i think she said

sacajawea
thanks.
lol Hurshy
lol
is that some exotic place hurshy?
no kallia it is a famous native american woman
ah ok :)
i guess only famous to americans :)
LOL
whew i am tired. i only slept like 4 hours the night before we left and then i slept a few fitful hours on the plane, and it's 5:23 AM my time...
but our theory is if we just don't get sleep before and then go to bed at... oh say 9 local time... then we will be quickly acclimated.
I thought you were joking...but I had to look it up!
thats the best way to acclimatise hurshy
joking... about sacajawea? no she's real... i could have spelled it wrong i guess...
no you spelt it right :)
i was a spelling bee champ in my youth
No, you got it right, Hurshy.
course they don't ask you proper names...
well yay for me then
I was many things in my youth, but you don't need to know :)
does anyone else think that "send in the clowns" is a very unexpected song? i mean the title sounds like it should be happy and upbeat and it's all sad and stuff.
have to go back later for last 42...hurshy have a great trip
thanks kallia :)
love that song......
Yeah, Hurshy. It's very downbeat. Can't judge a book by it's cover or a song by it's title, I guess!
The song is about two people out of sync - sadly comical. If you know the musical its from, you'll know why.
What musical is it from, Snark?
well i just think it should go "seeeend iiiiin the CLOOWWWWNS, send in the happy silly clowns..." or something
A Little Night Music by Stephen Sondheim. It's a great show. It's based on a film by Ingmar Bergman - but it isn't depressing at all. Romantic comedy.
so they have all these newspapers in the lounge here in like a lot of asian languages and stuff and there's a khaleej times and i don't even know where khaleej is!
Thanks, Snark. I never knew that. Hurshy, it's like the book by William Saroyan called The Human Comedy. A guy asked me once if it was funny & I said no. He thought it should have a different title then. But I think the title is appropriate.
well the human comedy sounds like it could be ironic... i can see that...
ughh 6 to go
qrj, i don't think i've seen you in awhile, how've you been?
ooh go saphyre!
what are you doing up saphyre?
Fine, Hurshy. Just haven't been on much. My sister's life fell apart, so I've been helping her. You have a great trip!!!
working hursh - night audit- which takes about an hour and nothing much to do for the other 7
ohhh, poor sister. give her good wishes from me.
except babble!
exactly :)
Thanks, Hurshy. 27 year marriage down the terlet.

Isn't he great? I loved him too, had a Felix the cat clock :)
me too !
*have
and a lunch box LOL
LOL, do you still have it by chance? Would be worth some money I bet
Love Pepe Le Pew too, still do :)
No unfortunately. I guess I didn't think it was cool when I got a bit older.
How about Top Cat
Work of genius, was Top Cat.
I agree :)
Oh yes, loved him too. Loved alot of the cartoon cats, still have a fondness for most of them
I'm on my way out but couldn't resist giving Top Cat my vote! I'll be back later to tease some more words out of this grid. Bye all!
Hello everyone!!
bye Haz :)
Bye Haz!
hi mrp
hey mrp :)
Hi Mrp
Saph, do you remember Felix ice creams? I don't ever recall them as a child, let alone for a nickle lol
anyone else need clues before I go?
I'm good saph, thank you :)
Yes I remember them - the ice cream truck sold them - not good humor, the other one...can't remember the name
Ahh, thats why, I never got ice creams from the truck. My Mom insisted on making her own ice pops lol
hi mickie
I don't think they were sold in stores in NY
My mom did too Cat but if Dad was home we got spoiled once in a while.
Dads are good like that :)
Anyway I've got to go, be back in an hour when I get home from work if anyone needs clues
Take care Saph, and thanks for the clues :)
mine wasn't *sigh* I got all my treats from mother :)
:) Both mine were quite frugal, but when I got anything, treat wise, my Dad would ok it.
Any clues to the UVs?
wow I never thought that remembering the french word for a french policeman's cap from schooldays would come in useful!
lol
uv4/8, uv plus 2 vowels
plural that for the uv5/18
Thanks Cat!
ok, done! *~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~* and this grid was (insert appropriate comment)!!
well done mrp!!!!
yay mrp!
oh I like your pusscat Atalante!!
you're welcome snark, congrats mrp! How did you get anything out of this jumble of oddity lol
its Jiji :) From the film Kiki's Delivery Service
alot of swearing at the monkey!!
congrats mrp! I hope you recover soon.
my monkey is deaf!!
lol
what kitty, I see a dog?
refresh, Cat :)
soz peeps just shot my monkey lol
i think this grid is just crazy hoodoo.
still see a dog :)
mickie rude hehe
Hobbit obviously wants to stick around for you!
obviously! :)
Takes awhile to see new icons on my computer, takes hours before I can see my new ones.
well maybe you'll see Jiji at some point :)
I hope so Ata, love kittys :)
Tuken should be a word. Well, it is in some southern states
I've lost it. Any clue for the Ca6?
here's a kitty for you then: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/29 144867/
whoops found it.
thanks Ata, will go look see :) I don't have that one yet snark, sorry
that was my kitty about 10 months ago!
Ca6 - ca + first part of long key board thing.
looks like it's a plural word.
I did find it - it's a warrant for arrest.
What a wonderful photo Ata!
there's lots of pics of her there - she's such a photogenic little thing - http://silver-claws.deviantart.com/gal lery/
thank you for the link!
thats ca, is actually the only C I am missing, and sorry, I am just not getting the clues. It's me, not the clues.
I like showing off my little cat!
ca + first part of ivory keyboard instrument + plural letter.
awww, great pic's!! Beautiful cat, it's obvious he/she is loved :)
I don't know if you saw my clue Cat - it means an warrant for arrest. You can google it if you have trouble with the spelling.
she's a she :) just over a year old, horrendously independent until she suddenly decides she *needs* to cuddle all night long! and she's a tiny little thing - her mom is a really small purebred Burmese ...
thank you, got it!!!
Any help with the Ma6s?
That finished my C's, 24 left :)
when she curls up, she's only about 8" long and she curls right into any little crook she can find - normally right in behind my legs - its so cute!
Cat - glad you got all those :)
awww Ata, Don't ya just love kittys that cuddle at night. The one that loved to cuddle with me like that, passed a couple months ago. She was my bed buddy, I miss her.
animals on the bed!! I have 5 of them at one time!! not cute!
I have a cuddly cat and a cuddly dog :) Hobbit cuddles up usually actually in my arms or along my back, and Silverclaw finds whatever space she wants :)
She had to be right at my chest, curled up, and if I switched sides, she would come 'round to whatever side my face was.
LOL mrp, they hog the bed, but awwww :)
I love falling asleep to contented purring
I do too Ata :)
awwww, my butt!! I have a king size bed and maybe get 5 inches to myself! If I put on any weight, I am done for!!
My doggie doesn't sleep with me, would need a super King for that, she is huge, and a bed hog :)
Can I tell you a true story? My husband (a vet) was called to do a house vist quite late at night. When he arrived, he was taken up the stairs, to find the dog in the bed, and the female owner, in her nightgown, in bed as well. He was rather embarrassed, as you can imagine!
LOL mrp! Don't you know by now, you don't own Cats? They OWN you :)
lol sounds familiar! the little kitten from hell who is the size of a bunny rabbit not a real cat managed to take up about 80% of the duvet last night!
Sure Haz :)
Haz - what's the rest of this story?
but not MY 5 inches of the bed!! the slasher claws and evil looks are just not enough to move me!!!
The rest of the story is that he examined the dog and got out of there as quickly as possible!
LOL Haz!!!!
oh Haz... you could have extended that like crab in a fish market!
Are you saying the woman called the vet and then wehnt and got back in bed with the dog to await his arrival?
Slasher claws and evil looks, why.......thats me!!! :)
the fact she was in bed with her dog is enough!!
this sounds like part of a stic com....
was it a male dog???
No, not quite that, in that her partner opened the door. I think they just had no idea that it wasn't very appropriate.
*sit com*
was it a guy dressed in a dog suit??
Are you referring to the guy who opened the door?
One of the other funny stories which we know to be true, relates to a local farmer who kept goats. He had the flu, took to his bed, but one particular goat wouldn't allow anyone but him to milk her. So, the farmer's aunts brought the goat into the bedroom, lifted the goat onto the bed, and the poor farmer had to milk her from there.
Yikes!!!!
that is just wrong on all accounts!!
I agree!
These people were a little eccentric at the best of times!
I can't stop laughing at the mental picture I have of the auntie/the goat/the farmer/the bucket....
Eccentric is being kind :)
antie, goat, farmer and bucket?? I am going with jerry springer here
Poor goat :( Was he an ugly farmer?
He would win no prizes in a beauty contest, let's put it that way.
Haz - at least your husband wasn't called for a night visit to that house !
Another K-grid??? Good afternoon all
I know Dianne!
You people are so funny, I can hardly work for laughing!
Sprite!! long time no see!!
Hi Sprite!
Hello sprite - there are k words but they're not too cruel.
Hi sprite - have seen you for a bit. All o.k?
I know, the ugly farmer joke was tastless, but hey :)
*tasteless
Reasonable well. How are you all doing?
There are only six k's in the grid Sprite, there were 21 re's yesterday!
Good sprite, but not so good for the grid from he**
But not so many Re-words with the actual "again' meaning :)

love your icon Ex Wren!
ap5, a sleep disorder
ap - sleep related condition

any clues for the ve 7?
ve4/7 + something similar to a twitch.
Ve7- relates to hunting.
try VE + N + the room right under a roof (minus one of the double letters)
ve7/44, ve plus N plus the space in the upper part of your house sometimes used for storage, minus a cross letter
I want to plural that Ve7. Won't take though.

I have all the PEs but two think - one is the PE5/22.
PE 5/20 - sounds like the nut, but with a different middle letter. PE 6/33 is just the plural of this
Hi Jmann - I do have those. I'm missing the PE5/22 and one of the Pe4/5s.
pe22 is a lever used to move logs - but it sounds more live being anoyed.

sorry thats a pa not pe my mistake
PE 5/22 = try taking the veggie, and the plant that grows all over the walls of Harvard and Yale (ie, *** League) and get rid of one of the vowels (either the end of the veggie or the beginning of the plant). That's the best I can explain it
MrP, I cannot find what you mean!
pe4/5 - are you messing the one that has to do with a hammer (alternate spelling)?
PE + the opposite of out
thanks JMann
that should be all of the PE's
Thanks Jmann!

Couldn't even stand, it was shaking so bad
hopefully it was so we don't have to worry about it anymore - but I grew up here, so I've always heard about the "Big One" so I'm not sure it's real
ke & virst vowel & snake
Ok...might be the one that sounds like something you start your car with.
ughh first
my brother was here and he said that the water in the pool was like a tidal wave coming out
First thing I heard after the 80's one, when I turned on the news, this was NOT the Big One :)

Ok everyone, i'm gonna go now! HAPPY BABBLING TO ALL!!!
TTFN
The news is talking about the "side to side" motions people felt, nothing here.
sa - bag & first vowel & 2000 lb
Redwood City, nice town
SA7/32 - is Sa+ a kitten's mom + the opposite of off.
Bye everyone!!!
aftershocks now
I hope you guys are okay!
we are fine, a 4.7 is teeny to us
My daughter lives in LA - should I be worried?
HUZZAH! TWO LEFT!!! one 4 "c" and one 4 "h"
not at all - LA is so far away from us, and this one was really small
Which ones Jai?
strawberry shortca*
a walking ca*
tuna come in ca*
no saph, it's ok. LA won't feel what we feel, plus, every small quake takes pressure off, so it's actually a good thing
good morning everyone! was there an earthquake in calif? havent heard the news yet.
Superman wore a ca*
spanish hose
have all those
spanish hose?
Do you have ca6/24?
yes
ok good I would hate to have to call her at 6 am pacific time
house sorry
so, the earthquake (which was minor) happened about 20 minutes ago, and we've already had about 3 or 4 aftershocks - didn't feel any of those, just the first one
any clues for that ca6/24 snark?
Ca6/24 - means relating to hunting. you can google that one.
I am sure she is fine:) I have a brother in West Hollywood, and he is online, he felt nothing
c
saphyre - yeah, if you called her, she'd probably just yell at you because she's too far away
ok thanks :)
I felt nothing,no aftershocks, nada
Do you have what Superman wears? And lecherous lads?
I know JMann - she'd call me a worry wart
I've got them all, still misssing a c and an h
Saph, once a Mom, always a Mom, I don't blame you worrying, but all is ok :)
aha! lecherous lads?
what is that one?
4,6 4,9 4,5 4,5 4,6 6,24 4,5 for the c's
That would be c4/6
well, it's better to have a bunch of smaller ones than the Big One!
snark-didn't find anything when I google-any other clues?
We are South Bay anyway, wayyyyyy far from southern LA
I have 3 daughters - California, New York, And S Carolina
I worry in many different directions
exactly JM
The ca6/24 - Ca+3.14+first vowel, plural-sounding.
I know Saph, I am a worry wart too, when it comes to my Son
thanks snark!
News must be slow, they are talking to EVERYONE who DID NOT feel the quake
lol cat
HUZZAH! ONE LEFT!!!! IT's an H- I have 4 4's and a 5, but I know it's a 4- have these: the one that sounds like cane with an "h"; the one that rhymes with rake; the one that looks like "hunt"; and the one "To ha++ and to hold- what am I missing?
and now the news is making a bigger deal about it than necessary - asking people if they notice anything moved in their houses, etc. - i don't even think my pencil moved much!
yw.
but i guess there's nothing else going on today
LOL JM, they always do
Sounds lke ha4/6 - goes with couture or cuisine, minus a vowel on the end.
change the third const of the ha* & hold
alright, I'm off to bed now - safe in knowing that the majority of the Bay Area never even felt a thing!
You didn't feel it? So tell me, did anything move? Did you fall? No, I felt nothing? So, did you lose anthing valuable?
oops nevermind
ignore that clue
slooooow news day
bye JM
Monkey-typing like crazy but no luck....
bye jmann
ok let me clue that again...
I guess that's good, but really, are we going to hear about it ALL day long? I hope not.
what a ghost does minus the n
Saphyre, I got Fireworlks!!!!!!!!! Thank you and everyone else who helped me SO MUCH!!!!! I did it ALL without Knutmeg!
congrats Jai :)
Woohoo Jai!
Knutneg is my daughter
And I'm off! Good luck all!
bye Cat, try not to panic, the worst is behind us, we've all made it out alive, etc, etc, etc. Thank goodness that the news casters are all over it.

thanks Jai

ard grid today
i ment hard
yw! I got lots of help, so I'm staying on to help. Anyone need clues?
yes, very hard- lots of obscure words that don't mean anything to me!!!
have you finished jai
Please, jainniah. I am still looking for the pa you clued.
pa+ second vowel+ first vowel+ consonant nearby
Babbledude, I just got Fireworks about ten minutes ago.
*MORE FIREWORKS* cos I missed em
TY LOL!!!!
ty, jaianniah
...and well done!
No prob, JA- we JA's need to stick together!
For sure!
jaianniah, could you please clue me the ve/7? thanks!
think having to do with veins in Latin- ve+ the first letters of our great ++tion+ the ending that sounds like "ick"
should have been our great +++ion
ooh, that's a weird one. thanks for a great clue!
yw!
thanks from me too jaianniah
thansk jai
errr thanks i mean
ch, are you going to have a different pic of your daughter everyday? i LOVE looking at wedding pics!
I got it ok, Babbledude! typos are my specialtee!!!
clue for the ca 6/24 please
:) Well we took hundreds of shots, so it's quite likely! I'm still floating from the memories -- this one was in the bride's room before the ceremony
I think if i type it correctly its a typo
she is glowing! i'm glad to hear it was such a great day
ca+ 3.14+ "++You LIke It"
me, too, BBDude
dont understand your clue jai
JA, did you get it?
she's lovely, ch!
No, not yet.
3.14 is from math- remeber, the Greek letter that is the ratio of the radius to the circumference?
I'm thinking about the 3.14?
Thanks, angelsong -- we are very blessed!
sounds like "+++ in your eye"
thank you, jaia
maths was never my strong point
Sorry, ja, still not. Don't know anything about maths!
ch, the bride is beautiful and so is her wedding dress
ch, that was such a beautiful day for me as i'm sure it was for you
Good morning/afternoon all. I'm hoping to find my last 30 words. Time for the list!
Thanks, Anniebrook -- she wore her grandpa's Purple Heart on the sash, because he was supposed to walk her down the aisle, but he passed away in January. It was very moving, and the medal looked perfect.
Hi Haz
Morning Haz!
good morning, haz
Ok- try this: ca+ a four letter combo that sounds like "pious" only spelled diff
Are you all enjoying this tricky grid?
ch, the purple heart was a beautiful tribute.
OOOO< it was hard!
3.14 in math has to to with circles......
i've learned all these new words today!
Babble is really educational!
Right- and sounds just like apple +++ and MOM
not really haz LOL
the ca word starts with the far right A
will be back later, bye
ch, did you know you can put all or any of your wedding photos on imageshack.us in an album? easy to share.
ty, ja, I eventually got it! Duh!
bye anniebrook
Bye anniebrook
Not Duh! It was hard!
bye annie!
Any more clues?
Yes, but after the way you clued, I should have had it sooner!
yeah got it
sure jaianniah....how about the top right corner u? :)
Angelsong, my daughter did that with an online photo share called 'snapfish' - so far 3 of us have posted photos and there is a total of about 300. And we still haven't posted the ones from the 15 cameras on the tables, or the relatives' digital ones! It's an amazing site.
Uv+ two vowels+ snake letter
then plural it
Yes, please. K. I have ka4/8, ke4/8, ke4/9, k34/9 and kh4/9. One missing?
thanks jaianniah...are those related to harmful sun rays?
Hi all Bit of a sticky grid today.
You are missing a ka, I think- try ka with a double vowel in the middle (which vowel should be obvious)
JA, another ka4/8
abe, they are related to the eye -- the middle part with the iris
LOL Abe
Hello FMitch - going to start now or are you just tempting yourself for later?
Hey Haz, Have been babbling quietly for the last hour whilst the printer chugs away.
This grid isn't sticky, it's done with Super Glue and Obscurity!
i'm going to have an entirely new vocabulary at the end of this grid
And what do you think of the show so far?
It was a great start got to 80 and now ground to a halt.
Thanks jai, I needed that ka word too . Got to go out now though, only 16 to go.
What I am trying to figure out is what to do with all these new words I'm learning- : "Gosh, my uv++ is hurting today!"?
So waiting for inspiration to strike!
yw
LOL yes Haz, hence the pause for a quick chat. How are you getting on with the grid and is yr arm stiff yet?
jainniah maybe we should try to make a sentence using as many of the obscure words as possible --- and each word has to be used correctly! (Gosh it's nice to know I'm with a group of people who might actually find that suggestion as fun as I do!)
This puzzle definitely requires monkey skills!
LOL ch1212 - great idea
ch1212, I was thinkin' the same thing! LOL!!
Oh, boy, I am hard pressed with the one I just made up! LOL
Birds of a feather :D
that is a great idea
hello. easier than yesterday?
For example- the bride and groom say "To ha++ and to hold"
and I am not referring to the easy word!
" I sold my sa***** for 1000 ta***"
Sorry Fmitch - taking a phone call there. There's a degree of excitement next door as a group of honey bees have swarmed into a bush. It's quite a sight!
Hi ahp Didn't play jesterday but it is not that easy today but fun none the less
"My uveas were hurting so much I couldn't spot the pacas on our capias trip, so I relied on the maven in our group to point them out." That's only 4 though ...
From high on his ma6, the Great Kh4 gestured with his pe5 and exclaimed, "Issue a ca6 for those ca4!"
to pay for a procedure to remove my na*** "
*harp!!
My maternal grandmaother, the en===== one, loves the du++ LOL
Wow Haz, that must be quite a sight.
Oh Vicuna, yours is much better!!
Oh, Vicuna, that's great!
but you're using the actual words! :-)
I have only half the words so far, so I'm working with a handicap!
It has reminded me of the bees swarming in 'Fried Green Tomatoes'
OH MY GOSH!!!!! I JUST REALIZED WHAT I DID!!! I AM SOOOOOO SORRY~
:-D
Well, that's the worst ever. Okay, I'm a bobblehead. Sorry. Sorry.
The ve7 kh4 jumped up into his ma6 and shouted "Follow the swathes of sa7! Therein lie the elephants!"
ch, don't cry, I do it all the time- I am FAMOUS in Babbleland for inputting words in the wrong box
atalante, LOL!!
ch1212 - don't worry - you've just saved me some time!!
Vic - for the record, I just walked in, but I assumed the pe5 was "penis"
VERY GOOD, Atalante!
jeez, ch1212, you could have at least used words I didn't already have! :)
(ooo, I don't have ve7... So... what kind of a kh4 would do that?)
thanks, jai, but this time I actually checked on the spelling as I was typing, to make sure I had them right --- grrroaan. Thanks for all of your understand.
understanding.
Morning everyone, BTW!
ch1212, you DID use words I didn't have so THANKS!
I agree with Jen - try and use some words I haven't got next time! ;)
Hiya, Jen
jrh, there's nothing I can do about your assumptions! :) (And I'll give you a hint: there's a different pe5!)
Vic - I may be a troubled man
Good morning to everyone ...good luck
I dunno. Sounds like YOU are untroubled. Just the people around you may have trouble!
excellent point. after all, i am moderately hellacious
It's the PUZZLE that is goofy- ordinarily, pe5,10 would be what he said!
(Oh, what a fabulous description of a kh4, Atalante!)
Hi all... 19 more to go... finished all the 4s!
Hear about the earthquake in San Fran?
4.4
yikes
this morn
I have to go to work -- back later.
whereabouts in San Fran?
bye, ch! and thanks for the words!
San M- something
San Martin
thanx, Une
san mateo? eeeeep one of my best friends likes right there - oh - cool. I mean, not cool for San Martin but ...
4.7 and no reports of damage
lots of small aftershocks, they say
Oh...gotta go look for news on the quake...bro lives in San Fran area
ta5/12 anyone?
Jai, ace reporter, keeping Babblers up-to-date with the news....LOL
ta5/12 - silent
a ta+++ agreement - the ending starts with the word for metropolis
ca4/6?
what Dracula wears and swirls around himself!
man... I did not see that at all!
"You don't tug on Superman's ca4/6"
CJ - which one?
Those bad lads were real ca++
Ca-- Cod
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/
got that one - the first one I need :-)
ah... i see it was not big one
Atalante I'm having trouble with the swathes of sa7. Got a clue?
its a tufted grass ... sa + big kitten + opposite of off
sa+ the abbrevaition for the state we've been talking about + 2,000 lbs.
I love the cluing- we should make stories out of the words every day
how many letters is the O word?
CJ25 so did you get the other one? the ca4 villains?
Nice- thanks guys
thanks atalante and jaianniah
4
or4/6
duh, is today ice cream day?
ou4/6--sorry!
frozen treats!
ouds
yes as is crusader
oops!
now everyone has it!
hapr I thank you - would never had got that otehrwise
Harpjane, I do it ALL the time- I think it is a flaw in the game- the cursor should be a star or bright orange or something
BTW, here's some trout for you!
No nee for trout today. There's ha4/9 right in the grid.
(nned)
I share from my vast stores of fish....
(need)
quake? must check the news
(note to self: Learn to type.)
so the other ca4/6? Not the Ca cod?
Well, that was fun in a masochistic kind of way! The other ca4/6 are ungentlemanly gentlemen
Well, I'm off. Have a great day. I feel a small nap coming on....<Yawn>
ca4/6 are the sort of men who would be challenged to a duel for insulting someone's sister.
tsk right in front of me the ca4/6 thanks
The sort of men who would associate with rotters, bounders and the like.
good one, vicuna!
4 more!!
And I must be off. Have a good day everyone!
bye, ja and Haz
Good-bye, jaianniah and Haz.
3 more and they're all ma/6... ugh.
Bye Haz
the na5/16?
question...why would the same word show up twice on my word list??
you need to refresh, disney
na5/16 is a birthmark
not that i mind the exta points..thanks uneaixoise
Anyone have the ma6/27 or ma6/36?
thanks Une
that's the last ma6/36 I need...
ma---- soundsl like a phonetic version of ma5/18--starts with the fifth month of the year
morning again. en6/21?
*sounds
en + space under your roof for storage
ma6/27 - the keeper and driver of an elephant (I thought it was also the little hut on top, but apparently I was wrong. No wonder my sentence using it made j think of "penis" Yikes!)
hmmm... not up on my elephant driving vocab.
ma6 - the game ma* jong + opp. of in.
Aha! that does it! Thx Vicuna and Charm... that makes 3 days in a row I've managed to finish the grid! Of course, tomorrow will probably be a 400 worder and I'll never make it.
Charm, goood clue! even I understood that one!
Hooray for amazing Grace!
Woohoo, GraceM!
Goooo Grace! My step-granddaughter's name is Gracie.

Ka + think classic movies

"%"%"%"%" Belated fireworks for CJ "%"%"%"%"%
Ta FMitch
ma6/36 clues a bit earlier...
ma6/36 - ma + misspelling of slice + indefinite article
I'm outtie. good day all...
Bye, GraceM
okay, that's it - I am not to be messed with. Dr_God has to add sn9/78 (excavation for legless reptiles) into the disctionary. (muted scream)
I would claim success, except I would have to wade through barrels of fish.
hurrah I'm done.
thanks vicuna
Nice, Cmith
You are so right, Cmith! That would be a fabulous score, too.
yay bryan c!
Congrats, Bryan.
Yay!! Bryan.
(Except, i think it's only 8 letters...)
So, Charm, does that mean you're done? In which case, congrats, fish or no fish!
okay- so I can neither count nor spell. Shoot me.
GraceM clued ka 4/8 earlier and also en6, but didn't get them. Can somebody help please?
But still, there's always the pocket bread for legless reptiles, and that would be 9!
ka4/8 - Pa** easter egg kits - change the 1st letter.
"Citizen Ka4/8" Orson Wells en6/21 - en + indefinite article + facial twitch
by the way, Vicuna - done! These short grids kill me.

Hi all every time I get on it is a new grid
thanks, charm! I will. law school will kill all these feelings inside me!
Time for me to go do some chores, write bills (bleah), wash dishes, do laundry.

Krys, on the subject of bridges. Are you coming to Michigan for the Blue Water bridge, and the one to the northern penninsula? Detroit built a totally useless bridge for welcoming the superbowlers along I 94, which you might use for good humour.

England just shot its second goal vs trinidad/tobago. Our British babblers may be hard to live with!!!
thanks, gramma. I stay positive most days especially when I get to see my grandchildren.
Will it be an upset if England beats Trinidad?
Grandbabies can do that for you.
not at all. England was expected to win big, and didnt score for 70+ minutes.
ah
Helpful hints, any1? I can't give up the grid, even when I'm finished.
Munner--my positive thoughts as well--I'm a 17 year BC survivor. I bet there are others of us playing babble as well. Let positive light (and grandchildren) surround you.

Can I get a hint for ca6/24?
woops....forgot my manners....please may I get a hint for ca6/24?
I'm going to go outside and risk life and limb in this nasty wind storm. Oh, did I say limb??? We just had a huge one come down from a maple that must be well over 100years old. The limb is bigger than most trees.
Ca6/24 ca+ 2nd PI word
gramma, perhaps, staying indoors is wiser but i love being out in the wind too.
Sorry....I'm a newer player. Is "Pl" short for plural?
Im heading out the back. No trees out there. It might be better than being in the house underneath the trees.
and, yes, I'd say if the storm is blowing branches down that big, you should stay inside and watch!
Pi4/4 meaning your 2nd word that begins w/pi
thats me done
ahhh....ok....thank you
bye bye see u all tomorow
congrats, hannah
I'm not kidding you guys! The branch is lodged in the crook of 2 other branches, so it's sort of upright. It's taller than our 2nd storey windows.
thanx annie
bbl....I'd feel safer outside.
gramma, be careful, please
gramma, i suggest you get away from the windown aswell
has she gone out into the storm? did I see gramma flyl past my house just now? not to worry, we have no wind here right now.

Dax, that would be great!
not of myself of course! i'm a photographer... which means i'm better behind the camera than in front of it

i have a BA in photography from UCF. I love outdoor photography
The problem that I had with the pa5, is that it does not end in en, it ends in an. pa + 2 vowels + n.
my wife does alot of photoshop too.
WTG< feather!
Jee, that's why JAI put it as "en" (for the sound, rather than the letter) but I can see why that might confuse
I was spelling out the letter.....sorry, I will change that clue....nrkii does it better...
i'm an idiot!!!!! i didn't even see that other "n" in the top corner.
Okay, just clarifying for those who were confused like I was.
i'm ignoring clues for now, so in an hour, when i ask for that pa, don't slap me!
k! LOL
i was twisting all the vowels i could and just couldn't gt around to that other n. i feel much relieved. thanks jaia
Dax, I like to work in flowers- I do effects on them- they look great when I am done, but they look terrible shrunk in this board!

Nice clue, nrkii.
pe 5/20 and pe6/33?

PE5 sounds just like a nut

Thanks for the pe words...strange words that they are....:)
dunno why I said georgia nuts, just nuts ... oh I know, my aunt from georgia always makes pe**** with cinnamon for christmas LOL
i'm missing the last pe4,5
pe + not out
how about the pe 5,12?
oops, I meant the pa 5,12
pa 5/12 is pa + string b*** (vegetable) ... no pe 5/12
The other pa 5,12?
no other pa 5/12...
ah, I see my confusion. I am in need of the pa 5/14!
I entered lickety's boxes wrong
plural of pa 4/6 ... pa + abbreviation for west coast state
does the sc5/14 build off the sc4 before it?
typing in the dark, here, so I can enjoy the twilight
Oh helpful nrkii, do you have the ta 5/12?
ta + New York ***y
no dax, its moonsc***
Dax, no

hi everyone
hi ping
Okay, I just posted some thoughts in Babblers Anon that I might get yelled at for
hi everyone!!
oooooooo, gotta go see!
Hi Peri
is it about the store?
Hi Ping
hi nrkii
no ping, I posted under the General section, a new post called "Thoughts on Cluing"
I wanted to express my thinking, but didn't want to do it here in chat, so posted it there
The store is still thriving though -- needs new product ideas ....
missing the 2nd th4/5 and th6, clues please
Hi marigold!
ca6,24?
th + M** West
interesting thoughts! i agree with how it's interesting how differently people clue. and as a rule, i prefer the more vague clues, until i'm about to pull my hair out over one, then i don't mind it being spelled out! kind of depends on how hard up i am for the word.
meant th4/6
th 4/6 is an old-fashioned way of saying You
nrkii, thanks, don't know how I missed that one
yeah, I've been debating about even posting that feather
i haven't read it yet, nrkii, but i have discovered how little i know about certain fields because some of the clues stump me so profoundly. for example, apparently i don't know the name of a single bone in the human body.
Ping -- me neither!!!
lol ping!
3 to go.... working on my second firework show ever!
I rarely clue to the actual definition -- more often break the word apart or use puns/wordplay
go DAX!
I prefer more concrete, spelled out clues. I usually don't ask for help unless I have tried hard to find a word. or unlesss I am really tired :)
i think you did it nicely...didn't put down the ways of clueing, just show what your personal preference is
nrkii, you give great clues
okay, thanks feather -- we'll see how people respond in the post...
so, speaking of great clues, got one for the en 6/21?
ca6,24 pretty please?
en + room above the second floor, skip a T
en6/21--en + facial twitch

Just returned from reading the "list vs. listless" contributions, and noticed that Renfield used a word, used a word,...same one I got knocked down for this morning.
featherbee - that's excellent.

dax, did you finish?
Well it is 1.40am here, feather! I'm doing my best.:-)

nrk, read your thread about cluing and left a reply also.
Okay, it's one of the pe 4,5s, I have the ball *** hammer, little green veggies, but I'm missing one in there
yes, dax did finish.
hi, feather, jacula!
sueq, do you have the moss?
ka4/8 sounds like what we call automobiles in boston

Fireworks!!!!!!! ren you are the best!
pe4/5 that sounds like it hurts?
Lol lib!
missed mr. moss, ty, ren!
is gramma in the log? How did she weather the windstorm?
yay sueQ!
ma6/27 please
It's 16th June here in UK and so 'Clowns' theme day. I won't be joining in with that as clowns give me the creeps. I've gone for this icon instead
ty, fran-- u2!
mucho gracias sueq...inspite of the fact i'm a slithering bug eating asp.......
thanks lib!
Bring on the questions, I'm raring to clue
jac, i'm with you on the clowns, my icon will be in theme, but not a creepy clown
ma6/27?
Peri - ma6/27 is the chap in charge of an elephant. Indian word.
peri, an elephant keeper
ma + chair letter + not in but +++
hi, shutter :)
FranMag - It's surpising how many people don't like clowns. I get creeped out by those ventriloquists dummies, too.
jac, those dummies are worse...i've seen Twilight Zone!!!
Me, too, FranMag. *shudders*
I am SO creeped out by clowns-- always have been...
How about the clown from "it"?
Good Grief!
they're under your chair.......under your bed.....
thanks for the clues, found the ma6/27
Shurrup, Ren!
ok, i love the onelook reverse dictionary! never would have gotten that ma 6/27 otherwise!
y/w, Peri.
teehee......
sueq, that's why i don't like them. way before the movie came out i had a picture in my head and it's way worse than what they put on the screen!!
I think that any kind of parody of the human form; manneqins, clowns, even dolls etc. are very frightening on a primal level...
feather, it works really great when you have the first 3 letters and a def, i love it too!
how about the first ma 6/36?
I love onelook reverse dictionary too
Oh yeah, the book was far more creepy, I am too good at scaring myself
that's why Chucky was such a successful franchise
Hi lib, I left for a minute then came back, so I didnt see you said hi until just now.
chucky.....*shudder*
well, hello, shutter!
i don't mind clowns, etc, but that thing creeps me out!
how about ventriloquist's dummies? eeeek!
2nd ma6/36 please
ma + *sounds like boot* + 1st vowel
SueQ, do you have a clue for the 2nd ma6/36?
brb...my whinning computer wants some attention....silly computer
we had a chuckie doll that my husband got in one of those claw grab game thingies. he used to put it out on the porch at halloween. freaked me out to keep it in the house the rest of the year...i ended up moving it to the back enclosed porch, in a wall locker, inside something else so i didn't have to see it.
Featherbee - for ma6/36 think Lego stories. Ma6 (also known as Matoa) is the main villan of the 'Bionicle' universe.
sa 7/32, please?
burp it, ren!
feather, first ma6/36 is like the brand of power tools, change the second vowel
2nd ma... the *** pole + wine drop the "e"
last ma6/36 is a homophone of the ma5/18 right above it
thanks jac, gave me enough to google with! and thanks everyone else who chipped in
sa 7/32 is a type of grass used to make hay
Ina - sa7/32. A tufted perennial grass (Sporobolus wrightii) of the southwest United States, used for pasture and hay in arid regions. Sounds like a hessian bag that weighs a lot!
whats a homophone
peri, sounds like, but spelled different
does it mean, sounds the same as
like heard and herd
I am missing an ma5/18, have two that are homophones but spelled slightly different what am I missing
Peri - means sounds that same, but is spelt differently, e.g. bow & bough.
peri, it's right in between those two words. possibly and adjective of the first word
or, think of what films are called and change first vowel
how many words in total today?
109
109
109 babs
109
thanks FranMag
yw peri!
that many??? thanx
got that babs? :D
Peri - 2nd ma6/36 - 5th month of the year + French word for wine.
any more clues needed?
7 left, 4 A's and 3 M's
babs, thats not very many.
ooh jac, you've saved a step, i keep saying italian for wine minus the last letter!! very efficient!
go peri!!!
it seems like a lot for this one!!!
ma4/7 please
Peri, bring it on girl!
ma4/7 - think of the old song, 'Come Into The Garden, Ma**'
peri, spinoff of 'All in the Family' minus last vowel
Think old tv show with Bea Arthur
8 left!!!
(Rhymes with 'My Sweet Lo**'.
go feather!!!
thanks, I swear I had typed that one in earlier
Feather, Feather, Feather...
Peri - it plurals, too.
sue sue sue?
:)
uv5,18?
ma4/6?
Sounds like a Red Indian chant you two are setting up. LOL.
lib, it's a plural of the uv4
Plural of uv4,8
lol!
peri, like the 4/7, different consonant at the end
ty, fran -- how did I miss that? halibut, pls.
Peri - ma4/6 rhymes with what the teacher did.
FranMag, was just typing it in when I saw your clue, thanks
Peri, just change the last letter of ma 4, 7
sorry, i only have Mahi, Ono and Ahi today
ty, sue, I mean!
too
lib how about a nice squid?
well peri, we all know that asking for a clue is a proven way to find a word, whether you get the clue or not!
eeeeww, squid! only seafood I am appalled by-- rubber!
en6/21 anyone?
My phantom words of the day were Kevin, Nivea & I've forgotten. LOL.
No kidding. Truly repulsive, whatever made someone think to eat it?
Sue - I agree - eating calamari is like trying to chew rubber bands.
en + the upper room, minus a "t"
she's back....
I LOVE squid!!!!!!!!!!!
missing 2 a's, I have an4/5, an4/4, ap5/20, ap6/21 and au4/5. Clues on my missing 2 please, thank you
ap5/20?
thanks SueQ!
all done!!!!!
I kept seeing Sudoku in the grid...
Eva (& Merp). Hi! en6/21 - related on the mother's side.
peri, a + top of a mountain
WELL DONE, FEATHER!
Cat, an5/10 latin plural of the word right above it
yay feather!!!!
sueq said a word!!!!!!!!!!
clue for ou plz...
I know you're supposed to taste things before deciding you don't like them-but you couldn't pay me to put squid in my mouth....well, maybe if I were heavily drugged and the price were steep enough....
thank you peri
oops
cat, you need an5/10, latin plural of the 4/4 and ap5/12, the singular of the ap6/21
Thanks FranMag
squid, squid, bring on the squid!
ou, sounds like you're sayings "on the ou**" with a cold
thanks Fran
disney - ou4/6 - a lute-like instrument from the East.
you are all missing out!! squid is delicious when cooked correctly, doesn't taste fishy and isn't rubbery.
Yea! I am done too, thanks so much for all of the clues.
That ou word also sounds like the latest aliens from Dr. Who (the ones who look like they have the contents of a mincer coming from their mouths.)
yay peri!!!!!
congrats peri!!!!!!!
I'm willing to miss out on some experiences...especially ones involved in ingesting tentacles.
WELL DONE, PERI!
I love to get FIREWORKS!!
lol eva, i totally agree
but squid is yummy!
There it is eva, tentacles, enough said.
agh..i'm not getting the clues..what's wrong with me?
Anyone need any clues
Yeah Peri!!!!!
I'm off to Crete in a couple of weeks. Lots of seafood there, I imagine.
disney, keep going down for the word
disney - take an lo4 word that means the volume is too high... remove the first letter and then plural the word that is left.
Going to read a book before bed, see you all tomorrow.
the first ma6/36?
I'm off too, nighty night everyone
Peri - a whole book before bed? You must be a fast reader. LOL.
oh geez..thanks..guess what, i already have the ou, i'm just so excited cause i have 98 words and am trying to figure out what's left...i want fireworks :( thanks for the clues tho..
nite, sueq
ma6- sound like a brand of power tools....change the I for a U
Eva - I clued that not long ago. Hang on...
Eva - main villain of the Lego Bionicle universe, also known as 'Matoa'.
woo hoo, go disney!!!
'Night SuzyQ.
night sueq
i just wanna say -
i really like squid !!!
lego who?!!!Sorry-not in my sphere of knowledge-neither is the power tool although I think that one is probably something I know.
also I LOVE SNAILS !!!!
LOL, Helen. Loved the pause.
well, hello, helen!
hey helen! you finish earlier?
Aw, Helen, not snails! I'm gonna be sick. You'll be saying you like frog's legs nect.
hiya lib :), jacula, feather, all
eva, google the lego clue, that's how i got that one
I have never tried a snail, dont know if I want to either, but I eat squid every time I get a chance.
*next
brb
helen-would you eat garden slugs? I mean they're just snails without homes
looking for the pe 6..please
ewwwwww, eva! true, tho!
lol eva....ewie!
pe6 sounds like a nut, spelled with a different middle letter
pe6 is plural of the pe5 before it. A nut spelled differently.
ooohhh..i'm so close! thanks!
even if I were VERY hungry it would not occur to me to eat a slug (gag)
During the apparent frenzy of gastropodical mating in my garden a couple of weeks ago, I swear I saw a slug and a snail 'at it'. Now what kind of creature is THAT going to produce, I ask....?
A 'snug' maybe?
Or will half the kiddywinks live in mansions and half be homeless?
that's good jac!
hehehe
LOL jac-what an image-conjures up snail orgies...hard to put passion and slugs in the same sentence, but you did it. So, do you think you could give me a clue for the ma6/36 that doesn't involve searching fruitlessly through some horrific legos web site?
ok..plz a clue for pa 5/14 and pa 4/6
Eva - I will try (re the clue). Then I'll tell you the story of my Mother, a cannabis plant and an orgy...
ooooh, can't wait, for both the clue and the story!
snails have to be in just the right garlic-butter concoction for me to eat them - i would not do well on survivor :)
disney, last part of llama like animal, al**** and then plural for the 5/14
ma6...know lion king? known the song about no worries, and being happy? blend the two words, and that's it
cabbabis plants can be hermaphroditic-- actually had a few in a long ago crop!
Eva - try this... ma** (to construct or invent) + Salt State (think The Osmonds) minus the last letter.
was missing the plural (again), but now missing the other 4/6
You guys are making me feel totally illiterate-don't know lion king either.
disney, take the last vowel off of the plural
aww! sorry! i teach kindergarten, so am very "up" on the latest disney movies
love disney!
i still have 7 to go :(
need help helen?
are there 1 or 2 h5's
to helen!!!
i have 7 too! you all give such awesome clues..
one
i mean ... go helen!!
bless you jac-for your kindness to the uneducated!
tx - i ought to be able to monkey a 4
lol fran - that's kinda what i figured
lol fran, i was wondering if you were telling us all "to helen" as in go to her and help!
that too feather!!! ;-)
Eva - The Story: Years ago, wild bird seed contained hemp seed (cannabis seed). During a good, hot summer, the hemp seed tha fell from bird tables grew like wildfire in British gardens. Mum had such a plant, 5' tall by her birdtable. 'What's this?' she asked me. 'It's a pretty plant!' 'Mum,' I said. 'That's pot!' In a panic, she ripped it out and threw it on her compost heap. Next morning it was covered (totally) with spaced out slugs and snails. Our slug and snail population rose locally about 200-fold!
lmao, tripping snails, how funny!
that is hilarious jacula!!! did they come from far and wide or did your own snails just have a population explosion??
LOL jacula - that's a great story!
slugs look pretty spaced out anyway!
hard to tell...
ke 4..have the one to keep
Slugs and snails love anything addictive. That's why we use beer traps to get 'em here in UK.
What a wonderful story! You're mother's innocence-and those very happy snails. They must have passd the word on from snail to snail about the party on the compost heap
the other sounds like your house ke**
slugs are so decadent! lol, jac!
disney, just change the last letter of the one you have
Eva - That year I think my Mum was not the only one chucking those plants on the compost heap. LOL.
yea!! six more to go!!!
okay-missing on m- an ma5/18. Have the yiddish expert and the one that sounds like being in the maritime forces
go jessi!!
go jess!
Do you want clues, Jessi?
and I'm sure there were many people NOT chucking them away, but making other uses of them
they all start with the same first 3 letters eva
are all the h's ha's?
my 5 yo is helping too..he's yelling letters! i'm looking for na 5/16
and two of them sound alike...not the maritime forces one, but the other two
Eva - erm,... yes.
eva, the last one sounds just like the first
yes helen
thanks fran-guess there are a lot of alternate spellings
monkeying not so easy
Eva - ma5/18 rhymes with a man's name beginning with G.
na 5/16 sounds like one of the armed forces
Sounds like mother on the French wine.
have it-thanks everyone
helen, two of the ha words have double vowels
na5/16 sounds like the military na4/9, it's an anagram of an na word that means young and unknowledgeable
thx feather - got it
5 now
go helen go!!!
the u from the middle?
Who's after the 'na' words? Missed that.
it's a four letter u helen
me..the na 5/16..still not gettin' it
Hi, all. Just checking back in. Anyone need a clue ? (dances triumphantly, having completed this one!)
almost sounds like one of our states pluralized
Helen - it's an old English word for festivity and merriment. Sounds more like the Osmond's home state pluralised though.
jessi, if you have the ne4/7, add another vowel to it after the first letter
Bookwyrmish - WELL DONE!
groan - thx jacula - i swear - the last 3 words i put in, i thought i had already
yay bookwyrmish!!
na 5, 16 Think of niave, but put the dotted letter at the end and add the second vowel after the a. Tx guys
got it Fran! thanks everyone! i'm so excited, only five to go!
go jessi!!!
and, uh, how many ka's?
na5/16 is a type of birthmark.
2 ka's
2 helen, both 4 letters
brb, have to feed my son...everyone...to jessi!!
lol fran!
then it's a, no wait - are all the other k's ke's? i know it's a 4 i'm missing - 4 4's left :)
i think i'm missing the ma 5/16
there's a kh also
noooooooooooooo
ma 5/16 is plural of the 4/7?
yeah feather - i just saw that LOL
First sounds like more than one hissing character from the Jungle Book, or automobiles. The second sounds like a cut off bamboo to support plants or the first murderer.
yesssssssssssss
DUH!
lol..i have missed EVERY plural today, geez. i'm so embarassed.
ka4/9 - Think of the Peter Sarstedt song ' Where do you go to my Lovely?' Who bought her a race horse for Christmas? The Aga Kh**.
That last clue should be 'kh'.
that's ok jess, it happens!
how many sa's?
3
like rosanne rosannadanna says - never mind!
i need the last pe 4/5
lol
no, that was emily littella (sp?)
"never minnnnd!"
Jessi - last pe4/5 sounds like it hurts.
what did rosanne rosannadanna say ? it just goes to show you ....
gilda was great
last pe 4,5, you've got an "in"
Fireworks!!!First time in a long time that I haven't been too tired or in too much pain to finish. Feels good. Think I'll go out in the garden, round up some slugs and have a feast!
finally - fireworks!!
Helen - sa7/32 - type of grass used for making hay. Sounds like a hessian bag that is very heavy. sa4/8 - 'for goodness sa**!', sa4/5 - what you find on beaches.
thanks! now off to figure out the three i'm still missing! congrats helen!!!
WELL DONE, EVA!
yay helen!! yay eva!!!
go disney, go disney
and Eva!! i'm so jelous!
yay helen!!!!!!!
yay, helen!!!
WELL DONE, HELEN!
Thanks for all the help and the great bedtime story!
Oh, Eva, so glad for you!
yay eva!!!!!!!

Disney-only 3 to go....won't be long. What do you still need?
yay, eva!
Eva - don't eat those snails. Just watch 'em GO! LOL.
ok, i'm going to bed, night!
i read gilda's autobiography - she was sad much of the time & afraid in her love relationships
'Night Feather.
ok...i need a ma 5/18 (i must say i've really disliked the ma's today), and ne 4/5 and ne 4/4
night feather!!!
night feather, and thanks for all the hints!
good night feather..thanks so much for your help today!
they've been merciless in attacking the Ligularia. The good news is that they get so full they ignore everything else. The bad news is that the Ligularia looks like swiss cheese
Jessi - there are 3 ma5/18s
all those ma5/18 start with the same first 3 letters jessi
jessi, two of them sound the same, the middle one is an adjective
Jessi - ne4/5 is a Scottish turnip or swede. Also a type of sea tide.
ne 4,5 rhymes with the sound of a baby chick , means a special kind of tide
oohhh..good baby chick clue..
good nite feather :)
ne4/4 - think spick and span, ne** and tidy.
ne 4,4 is what the place looks like after you have cleaned it up...
goodness..that was an obvious one! thanks..one left!!! the ma!
1st ma5/18 is only initial letter different from the ha5 (sanctuary) word.
if you have the ma5/18's that are the yiddish expert, just take the second one and change the n to a vowel
thanks for your help - see you at the flip, or tomorrow :)
Okay Helen. Sleep well.
bye helen, thanks for your help!
i would like to thank all of you cluers and the love of my life for the last 38 years for FIREWORKS tonight!!
disney jessi, all the ma 5,18 start with the same three letters. the first and third are almost the same and end with a consonant. the one in the middle ends with a vowel
night Helen!
hey dis - today i just took, lol
woo hoo fuzzy, and fuzzy's love for letting him play!
Okay fuzzy! Glad you're happy. Nice to see happy people here!
this babble thing is getting to be a family affair.
yay fuzzy!!!
cool. Do you sudoku, too?
2nd ma5/18 rhymes with the sea force (not the land or air force).
hey jess-can't go to sleep until you find that last one. How's it going?
38 years and still getting fireworks. that's great fuzzy!! ;-)
who else does sudoku?
lol..my 5 yo is praying for the soldiers, had to stop for a minute...he's so darn sweet
Not to put any pressure on you or anything(-:
3rd ma5/18 is your little Mother + French wine.
lol..i'm working on the ma that ends in a vowel
babble fireworks, franmag. it's not saturday night yet.
Ping - *Makes sign of the cross.* Me no do Soddingokuh! Words make me happy. Numbers make me cringe.
it's the one that sounds like the sea armed forces
lol fuzzy!!
exactly my sentiments jac!
Eva - glad we're as one on that!
hey, I am back. Can I get a clue for the ca 6 pls?
ok..they all start with the same three letters, right?
jac, i like your deliberate misspelling too!
Jac, I'm that way too - but I seem chatters mention the S word sometimes
Merp is waiting too jess
jessi, same first 3 letters + easy as p**
right jess. Oh-another approach-the word for a film, but replace the O with the first vowel
that's it!! but no fireworks??
109 words, right?
noooo, disneyjessi, there have to be fireworks! Did you miss one?
wait just a minute and don't press anything
what do you mean no fireworks?!!! Are all of your squares blacked in? Yes, there were 109 words
hi babble gang!!! i've got 4 to go!!!! and i need some help?
why don't you try refreshing?
Jessi - you may have clicked on the Tile Stats. That can sometimes stop the fireworks.
ca6/24, hat + a vowel + ** you like it
What do you need, orrchid?
go orrchid!
oh..so sad. i have 109 words..but i'm not a subscriber so no blacked out tiles, no fireworks??
isn't it great when you get completely contradictory advice(-:?
ca 6/24
or, they may be limited to pro players if you've already passed your trial period
hey orrchid i can't believe it you go girl
just clued below orrchid
Ah! Non-Pro players don't get fireworks after the first 2 weeks.

ca6/24 - an arrest warrant. ca + pi4/5.
fran, I am so dense, I am not getting that last part of your ca 6 clue
Your first one jessi? That's great! Until recently we had to make our own fireworks anyway-it's the finishing, not the graphics that count!
*~*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR JESSI*~*~*~*~*~*~
phandmd, that thing is the same ** that other thing
any an clues out there ? I can not find a single one!
nevermind, figured it out.
thanks everyone! i've put off putting my little guy to bed to finish (bad mommy) so now that i've finished one...who knows what tomorrow will hold!
plural conjunction
good night all. Merp is beginning to snore. I'm rereading Tales of the City by Armistead Maupin and it is as much fun as it was the first time round
Now you finally get to go to bed Eva! Thanks!
night eva!!
when someone asks a question you should give an an*
i'm down to 10
aknitter, one is plural of a conjunction
aknitter - Come on! If you can figure out a knitting pattern, you can figure out a Babble grid. I know Babble grids are Fair Isle and Aran patterns all mixed up at times but.... you can do it!
Night everyone! thanks again!
add a vowel to that last one
fare the well, eva
.i didn't find the ca clue :(
I got the answer for an clues--if you slurr answer to ans*
another an4/4 sounds like the response to a question, the 5/10 is it's plural
orrchid, ca6/24 is hat + vowel + ** you like it
orrchid, the small hat *** plus the personal pronoun and ** you like it
Orrchid - did you see my clue?
franmag, what a brilliant clue! ;^)
would someone please pass me a fish of stupidity? Can't believe I missed those an words. Better go and clean my contacts!!!
brb, son wants something
aha thx book;)
*passing aknitter some accuvue* ;-)
Jac - who knows aknitter means her lenses really, still goes off on silly vision of her dusting and polishing everyone she knows. Sorry!
thanks franmag (and it starts with an A too!)
Evenin' all! Popped in for a few minutes to see if anyone needs a clue? :)
Fancy a bit of trout, aknitter?
Hi Jen.
Well, any last clues from me before I head to the afeared *S* puzzle page?
On the APs, I'm missing the 5/20. Is it also related to the sleep disorder?
trout? Yuck swedish fish would be nice
Hey there Jac!
And a fine good evening to one and all!
Nope, the ap is related to a mountain top
AARGH! Bookwyrmish almost said that nasty word again!
Hey, GreyWoulf and Jen, long time!
ap5/20 a + the top of a mountain
thanks, book
Hiya Wolfie. (((((HUGS))))))))
Hey woulfie! Long time no "see"!! How ya doin'?
too long, bookwyrmish -- how's things?
{{*Jac*}}
aknitter - you don't like freshly caught trout?? Not sure I'm familiar with any Swedish fish.
thanks, jen - got it
Doing very well, Jen --- I was just taken on permanent today!!
Hi there book! :)
TH 5/16 clue please
I've survived an end of school year grading period, and have retreated to the woods of Maine because my middle son is shutting down and needs quiet space (autism, asperger's, sensitivity to sound, etc.). First time I've left the rest of the family, GreyWoulf.
jac - swedish fish are really sour gummy worm type candies that are bright red and sugar coated, no swedish fish in your country?
Woo hoo for you woulf... uh, may I ask what that means? (sorry!)
Herring? Turbot?
GreyWoulf, taken on permanent? Sounds promising!
Oh right, aknitter. Possibly, I've never eaten that kind of sweet so wouldn't know.
yay, fireworks for me, the migraine meds have kicked in and I feel great again.... anyone needs clues?
Jen I have been in a temp position since my son was born
Well done mich_pdx/
congrats mich! i would love the ma 6/36, i have the one with the fifth month...
the last ma5/18 anyone
woot mich! (I hope I said that soft enough... I know migraines are killers... I have 'em myself)
i LOVE all types of sweets (and it shows)
like the first ma 5/18, change a vowel
ma 5/18 is one letter (the last vowel) different from the first ma 5/18
And another woot for you woulf!
ma 5/18 and ma 6/27?
hi mich, jen, abe and woulf!
th5/16 - plural of the dull crash before it.
hi fran!
Hey hey Fran! how's by you?
there are a slew of ma's that are all dif. spellings of the same knowledgeable one, and a "cute" version as well
doing great today, stayed up too late doing the grid again though!!
hi Franmag!
ma 6/27 ma + sound owl makes, but change the secont o to another vowel.

it would be fine if i could sleep in, but 1 year olds don't know the meaning of it!!
the ma6/27 means " T he keeper and driver of an elephant.
ap 5/20, on top of a mountain
ap5/20 - a + mountain top.

I'm going to hit Crickler and a couple of other games before I try to go to sleep... anyone need anything?
And WTG ping!!
do children really know the meaning of sleep? they certainly don't like to take naps, typically! And Ping, I agree, well done!!
hullo people
usually my last words are the totally obscure ones - tonight i had missed real obvious one - such as the small, green, round vegetables in the garden
thanks, jen
mich, mine stopped naps at 3 days before his 2nd birthday!!
my kids are very untalented sleepers
wrestling with sa7 -- is it a compound word please?
I can't seee the ma 6/27
Ping - it happens to us all! We get so hung up on looking for weird words we miss the normal ones. Hence the birth of the Babble fishslap.
whoever made up the phrase "i slept like a baby" obviously never had one - or one of mine, at least!
think spring wine, orchid
sa7: a kangaroo pouch + 1st vowel + A LOT of weight
lol, my last ones were the two 7s.... needs a2z to help me :) -- sa 7 clue, if there was a town named for Sacagawea, it might be called this.
thank you jen :)
and mich!
jac, but for once i didn't actually ask for the easy ones - which is good since i'm allergic to seafood
Mab - sa7 - hessian bag (for coal or flour or the like) but take off last letter + a heavy weight.
1wt ca 4/6 please
thanks jac :)
ma6: ma + 8th letter + opp. of in
ma6/27 - the elephant man. ma + 8th letter of alphabet + not in.
that ma 6/27 is ma+ sounds like an owl's call
ooooh, good clue mich!!
ping, we
aknitter - 1st ca4/6 - these gentlemen are not really gentlemen - they are ca** and bounders!
i got spring wine..i neeed the very first ma 6/27
ping, we'd hate to give you hives! (notes, no fish for ping)
does anyone have the first ma 6/36? thanks!
ty jac, it must be time for me to go to bed, i can't seem to find any of the easy ones tonight
So, what do we slap Ping with? Stale buns?:-)
abe, that one looks very japanese....
how about ping pong balls tossed at ping?
orrchid, your ma is the one with the owl's call
It's the elephant keeper/driver.
thanks mich...let me try it..
i like it, aknitter, how about if she gets ponged instead of fishslapped
i like to drive my own elephant
aknitter - no, 'cos they'd keep pinging and ponging back and confuse the chatlog. LOL.
yay fireworks. thanks mich
YAY abe!!!!! you are welcome!!!
ponged ... a great word
Well done, abe!
ponging, another word I like, Try and use that i a sentence to day
hi all
Okay, must return some e-mails as well as phone calls on opp. side of US before bed... I really hate time zones!!!! Have a great evening! And since hubby is coming into town tomorrow evening, I will talk with you all next week! :)

sa7/32 - grass for haymaking. Sounds like a hessian bag for flour or coal (minus last letter) + a heavy weight.
Hello- I'm baaaaack...I spent three HOURS Babbling clues this afternoon- I am Masochistic/Altruistic both. We had a hilarious conversation in which the tenets of the 12 step programs were applied to Babble, and came up with some VERY funny gems. Of course, our Higher Power is Dr_God...and then there's the steps, and the slogans...my contribution was ">And when we were wrong, promptly passeth the fish..." What do you folks think? LOL involved.
sorry got it again

thanks mich & everyone for clues tonight. I have finished another babble puzzle w/ 2 hrs to spare
yw Darci
Thanx again mich
ronnie, isn't it a GREAT feeling? Happy to help
that it is mich, nothing like trying to got to sleep then seeing the word you missed the next day thinking what a dummy I was
everyone tonight gave great clues much appreciated.
okay it was multiple angry cats -- I went out on my porch and there were two cats hanging out -- apparently a third that I've never seen before came along and picked a fight ... meanwhile, I don't even like cats, but I inherited these cats as frequent visitors from the previous owners ... I think they must have marked my porch or something!
Just come back from another site. Well done for finishing, ronnielee!
the cats, not the owners, marked the porch, that is
congrats ronnie!
nrkii, you know what works for cat pee? Orange peel based cleaners. I have two cats, both not territorial, and other cats come along and spray my door, etc. & it STINKS! Cats don't like citrus smells, either
nrkii - cats DO that! I'm more of a doggy person than a catty person, but, somehow, since my old dog died I have ended up with 2 cats living in. Could have been more, had the in situ cats allowed it. Just as well for me that they do that really, otherwise might end up as one of those 'mad old women with 100 cats'.
good advice -- these cats are okay, sometimes it makes me laugh that they hang out on my porch (though once I answered the door, and one of the cats came inside, and I had to get a neighbor to grab the cat for me -- I'm allergic)
As for the marking - it's not the house they mark, it's the daft twit living in it. The look at you and think, 'There's a soft touch! I'll move in there, if it suits me.@
lol jacula
I think they say, "there's a dog person! I'll show them!"
10 people in a room, I'm the only one allergic, I'm the first one the cat goes to...
nrkii - I once wrote about on cat psychology. Cats ALWAYS go to the one that ignores them. The HATE being fussed too much.
*meant wrote a book.
any clues for the pa5/12?
pa + string b*** (vegetable)
lol, Jac! One of my cats moved in with us, to my neighbor's chagrin! when I went to Italy for 3 weeks and he stayed in my old apt with my "real" cat while she filled the bowl every couple of days, that's when she decided maybe he wasn't hers anymore. Jac, I slightly disagree, as my adoptive cat, whom I used to call "the Interloper", is a glutton for affection and has to be in my lap whenever I sit down.
hi everyone!
ty nrkii!
pa5/12 - A song of joyful praise or exultation.
hi TO!
Hi Temple!
hi temple!
hurrying to finish...just back from doobie brothers concert...
may i begin with the o word from the left top o please?
(nrkii, what's tomorrow's theme? clowns, sadness, or creepy childhood icons?)
like what you have 3 of in every half inning of baseball, but change the first consonant
clowns Mich, and I'm not a big fan of clowns, so I went with emmett kelly
TO, sounds scottish, it's a plural, starts with vowels....
clowns have always creeped me out
mich - I could also disagree with my own research and book. My first full-time cat (there had been many part-timers over the years before her) had been abandoned at least twice in her life. She gets worried when she gets too much 'fuss' but also follows me around, or comes to find me if I am gone 'too long', and she hates it and frets if I go away on holiday. I'm due to go to Crete for a fortnight soon, the longest I will have left either her or my 'kids' (22 and 19). I hope she and they will be okay. The cat, I think, is terrified of being abandoned again. The 'kids' will cope! LOL.
where are your frozen confections, ladies?
Temple - it's clowns theme day here in UK and I HATE clowns and so have gone for this icon. Click on my profile to read it.
temple, I just changed so I could go to bed a little early tonight and be ready for tomorrow -- I keep my icons on home computer, but I start playing work computer, so I have to switch the night before
jac, what's the book called? LOL, just read your plaque!
i ate mine....
Jac, I have a greeting card that says that, but haven't figured out who to send it to yet
good evening folks
Hi LeslieAnn
hi leslie ann!
hi LeslieAnn!
i neeeeeeed a sa 4 b/t something on the beach and for heavens sa**
I am very very excited about Saturday's theme though...
which is?
Hi LeslieAnn!
nothing between them mm
saturday's theme is "an image to meditate on"
intriguing....
and I found the perfect image for that but it's a SECRET
will be sure to find you Sat. to see it :)
what if we say pretty please?
nrkii - could be problematic. I once sent a card to a friend re sperm in the throat asking each other , 'How far to the womb?' to a friend who DID find it funny. Unfortunately, her hubby was VERY offended by it!
I'm leaving my chair..... let's say the clown just left to return later.... Oh Jac! too funny!
yes, I could see how you might get mixed response on that one ROFL
mich - can't tell you as want to keep this site just for me and Babble.
nrkii - I reckon the hubby was miffed. LOL.
that's okay, Jac. I completely understand wanting to maintain some anomynity
hmmm, well as I am not fond of clowns... I could always put up my image to meditate on early...
I meant the PI's 4/5 first 2
Hi all
(that spelling doesn't look right.....)
Help please, en 6 21? thanks
anomynity?
hi mymuse
p + actor McKellan
anonymity?
Miss Zadora and others with same PI* name
That was for mich re spelling, btw.
en 6/21 - en+ room near roof, lose a t
Yoda, EN + room above the second floor where you store stuff (lose one of the middle consonants)
thanks, ladies, classic typo
room near roof, much simpler than mine, cool
thanks nrkii!
Yoda - you DO realise that you will never be accepted as a word by the Enable dictionary? LOL.
3 PE 4/5's
...And the day I see my Babble name in the grid I will faint!
like 2 pe** in a pod
such is life
stid's in here all the time!
pe** moss
pe+ opp of out
The clown was making me sad -- I'm skipping ahead to Saturday
how about the ma 6 36 (both of them), thanks
pe4/5 - a song of praise. pe4/5 = small round green vegetables. pe4/5 - what's found in Irish bogs, pe4/5 - sounds like it hurts.
P+ not nice
hey everybody!
hi Fran!
hey fran!
hi fran
hiya fran
ma 6/36 = merriest month + fruit off the ***e
Incidentally - that last pe4/5 is a type of stonemason's hammer head.
ma 6/36, first, sounds japanese, like a car company
what's saturday's theme nrk??
ma+what scissors do, change letter, + 1st vowel
An Image to Meditate on, Fran
only 6 left!
(go Darci!!!)
go darci go!
lol nrk!!
brb
I was going to go with a yoga mat, but I'm not really a yoga kind of girl
more of a toilet kind of girl??
I expect to see a lot of navels (belly buttons) on Saturday!
just refreshed, oh MAN, nrkii! i love it
LeslieAnn, some of my best thinking...
Jacula, probably true -- hadn't thought of that
I tend to read on the loo, or listen to the birds singing or something. I THINK when I'm supposed to be sleeping.
there's the pun aspect too.... is it an image upon which one mediates, or the image of an object that one is on while mediating? Very Tao
thanks everyone got the ma's!!
yay Yoda!
Good evening Everybody! How is everybody tonight?
hi minver
Hi Minveryork
I started out listless and now I resorted to Lickety's.
wonderful, you?
Good evening Minveryork.
Hi Minver!
this was a wacky grid, lots of odd words today
any clues for pe 5 22 or pe 6 33? Thanks
the babble fairy left a generous helping of unusual words for us to work on today
i switched my icon to Friday's. didn't want to do clowns either
Fran are those clownfish
and it felt like more than the usual number of ALMOST words too
Yoda, southern nuts, goofy spelling
lol coz that was what I was going to do for clowns
yes muse!
hey nrkii !
ca 6/24 clue please?
lol ok will look for smoething else
Yoda pe5/22 - An implement consisting of a wooden shaft with a metal point and a hinged hook near the end, used to handle logs. Or sounds like a character from Hogwarts.
hi renfield
When I click on your icon, the frozen dish still comes up
i went for illustrated clown fish, there were a lot of nice photograph ones muse.
hey t-owl!
what is after 1st ta 4/8
ca6/24 is small hat + a vowel + ** you like it TO
I was gonna do Finding Nemo
manic, another ta4/8
ty for ca 6!
Yoda - pe6/33 is plural of the 5/20 above it. (Mad spelling of a nut.)
Fran, those fish are gorgeous! are there clownfish in Hawaii?
i was looking for the evil clown from IT, but decided clowns in general were creepy so i found the fish
sometimes it feels like a nut.....sometimes it don't
Hey all! mich, you there? Did you see that our boy, Gale Harold, is going to be on a show on Fox this fall?
except evanonut... i bet she always feels like a nut
fran, I thank you for that -- evil clowns scare the crap out of me -- childhood scar
mich, the two or three-banded ones are not native here, but they around because of the popularity of Nemo
cannot find the ta 4/8
we have other kinds of clown fish that live in the anemones though
*Resolves to take a close-up pic of her daughter's pierced navel for later.
manicmama, just change your last vowel on the one you have, I think
chic! I saw you mention that a while ago, very happy about it -- still haven't seen the Unit, though. A whole show with him in it.....*homer-like drool*
ok down to the last four and i'm having a devil of a time. any help with the ap 5/20, the ap6/21, the en 6/21 and one of the ip5/12s ( i have the one that means not skilled)
manic, just change the last vowel of the one you have, they both start with the same 3 letters
err. i mean the in 5/12s. sheesh.
ap 5/20 is a sleep disorder, ap 6 is plural of same
I contemplate on that! I mean. I grew this perfect child and then she goes and gets piercings all over the place.
darci, the in 5/12 only have a different third letter
aha! thanks leslieann!
en 6/21 is en + room just under the roof, but lose a T
:) Jac
a & mountaintop, sleep disorder & plural
It's called 'Vanished" FBI story line on Mon nites. He gets to wear suits too..
ok, down to one! thanks guys! i think i'm still missing the "mountaintop" one.
*more homer drool with accompanying sounds*
a + p***-a-boo but different spealling
Much worse (because permanent) is the whole spine tattoo. She hasn't got it yet; it's still being designed.

add the facial spasm to the ve4/7
spine tattoo Jacula?
ve7 - to do with blood vessels. ve+ initial of the man who built the ark + loft minus 3rd letter (at word).
ok, time to go spend some time with my husband and my two pups. they've been neglected long enough. :)
later darci!!
mama Pa+ ending of big body of water
nice clues mich, jacs1 TY!
nrkii - yes a vine with fairies flying around it down the whole length of her spine.
ooh, sorry jac, but that sounds kind of cool
Jac-- they never care about later, cause they're never going to be as old and square as their parents. I just have nieces & nephews.... no known deviant piercings or tats, but the oldest is just 15....
mich - I think our daughter goes out of her way to shock us.
1st ta 4/8 ??? or last pa 5/12
mymuse clued the pa at 10:40, manicmama
Me and my 'ex' are still reeling from all her time in hospital. I guess she is punishing us (and herself far more) for the break up.
I am keeping track of my words tonight on Lickety's without printing it out. It is so much easier this way!
t+ commercials
my friend's 8 y o daughter eats bugs to shock her mom.... only child, homeschooled, it's only going to get worse!
manicmama pa + vowel + vowel + cons
I have that one.......t +commercials
I have a full back tat myself.. I figure if I'm willing to put that much money into being vain now, I will probably be willing to put enough in to remove it later. :P
Jac, I'm sorry, I did
ooh mich! that sounds awful!
PA + string b*** (vegetable)
Until then, I'm going to enjoy it. If I get 20 years out of 500 bucks, I think I'm doing pretty well.
you ate bugs?? :)
that's the first ta, change last vowel for the other one
I tried Lickety's list from the start on the small grid a couple of days ago. Since I'm used to doing things the old way, no lists etc., I found it made it harder and slower for me. But that's just me. I prefer to think on my heels, I guess.
you ate bugs?? :)
didn't realize she's been hurting herself (((((hugs))))))
*I* don't eat bugs! just stray cat hair by accident
lol
cehess, good point. i got one on my back, cause i figured if i got tired of it, i didn't have to see it
Does the back tat hurt a lot? Things near the bone tend to! It must be done in 4 -6 sessions, surely?
Does anyone have a clue for the ap 5/20 word please
I'll probably spend more on hair dye than that in 20 years Leslie! ^^
Oh well, I don't even have pierced ears! LOL.
something that big would definitely take a few visits jac, for the outline first than coloring later!
ap5/20 - a + top of a mountain.
a+ pe**-a-boo, homophone, homonym whichever
Hi again folks -- sorry to disappear before, but I got pulled away
It hurt on the spine and the shoulder blades, but not enough to bring tears or anything. But then everyone is different. She won't want to be in a hurry though, because making a tat artist go over a spot that already raw increases the pain a lot.
LOL, mymuse.
hullo gw
So multiple visits are a very good thing
He what a cutie you are Grey WOulf! lol
Thank you muchly Jacula!I finished my ap words now.
Hiya Wolfie. Bedtime story, was it?
ONLY ONE LEFT IS THE TA 4/8........SORRY TO BOTHER YOU GUYS........must finish........must.........
Hey LA!!
do you have the one that rhymes with cookies and ca**, manic?
No Jac -- just got sucked into a game of Literati with friends and I can't follow the log and play Lit at the same time
change last vowel of the one following it
ta4/8 - to ta** without permission is theft.
manicmama your ta after the one your missing change your vowel
have that one thanks
manic..... there's one that means to grab, another is the same but swap the end vowel for the first vowel in the alphabet
Imaginary fireworks for me.

Does anyone have a clue for the an 5/10 word please
I thought I was only missing the v7.. now I look and only have 107, no idea where the other word is! ach! hehe
I understand!
Wolfie - did you find the time to look up David Baddiel? If so, I hope you found a wel-trimmed/groomed pic of him.

Minveryork add a vowel to your an 4 4
min-- its a latiny plural of above one
Congratulations Yoda on fireworks! Hooray for you!!
manic change vowel for ta** me out to the ballgame
manic, ta + five-point letter + first vowel??
Hey, Ren. Just spotted you again back there.
manicmama, you have the opposite of GIVE?
manicmama which ta are you missing?
mab -- it is indeed a relief -- the knowledge that I will be able to meet my financial obligations for the next couple of years has already dropped some stress from my shoulders
manic -- it won't take cross letter, first vowel, 11th letter, first vowel?
i have 2 4/8's ; same word but with last letter=1st vowel and then 2nd vowel.....
congratulations greywoulf - very good news
Thank you all for the an clues.I finished my an words.
yes - i'm looking for my clown since i love clowns....and if you try to flush me me - i;ll keep bouncing back for more :-)
okay, there are only two ta 4/8 words, so it sounds like you have them both
do you have the ta 4 5 x 2 or the 4 4?
i may even use my grapefruit clown
check your list again, manic, there are only two ta 4/8s
I have all appropriate respect for clowns. My clown that I picked though, was depressing.
yes i have opp of give.... and the same word with different vowel..... I have the 11th letter one
be back in a bit, have to cook dinner
