zl5/24 and ze4/9 impossible to clue the first, its a collection of odd letters, the 4/9 looks like a german word
zl 5/24 is polish currency
thanks ren knew that one
other zl is same spelling ending in a different vowel
as soon as you said it that is ;)
oh..you deal in a foreign exchange my muse!
i know what the zl is - it's polish money! LOL
wait - i haven't put it in yet
no, but came across it when I used to work at a bank
ahhh thanks for the z clues. you guys are great.
lol helen!
yep - the polish dollar
yes, ty and google
oh, i see you beat me to it ren - i'm just so tired thinking of all the work i still have to do - 12:30 AM!!
what work do you have to do helen? why work when you can play! it's a holiday!
i'm having 30 people over for the fourth - I MUST CLEAN & DECLUTTER - i should say that over & over & over, until i get moving!!!
my dining room table is filled with regular bills, insurance bills, the taxes i haven't filed yet - ugh!
I have to shorten some capris -- I ask for petites (I'm 5'4 but short legs) and pants are always too long. That's work -- anything is that takes me from Babble
forget it, i can't find any good pictures for today's theme...stewie stays.
30 people?.....why?
hiya wassssss!
there are no celeb body parts you like to look at? like keanu's groin, hair, ears, lips, toes, etc? =)
hi wassup
hey helen. sounds like you are doing the same thing i'm doing. procrastinating. I've mastered the art. hi jill!
30 people? wow, that's crazy making in my book
we have big fireworks on my block & this has sort of become 'my holiday' over the years - there's food to be made - & stuff to be put away so people can sit plus i have to mow the lawn tomorrow cause it's been raining & today was just too hot
i was torn between john cusack's lips and jonathon rhys-meyer's eyes. but...no good pics.
yes wass - if only we could use our talents for good indtead of evil -hehehe
well im off to do boring stuff like house work
catch you all later
your lawn would prob be happier if you didn't mow and then have people trampling on it. or you could mow stripes in it like stars and stries!
beaster, i'm ashamed.
bye beaster
if i lived near you i would come help you helen...do you have friends to come over and help?
cert is so a word! See Dick Francis's book "Dead Cert"
not you 2 beaster!
we just got back from superman returns, i quite liked it. anyone else see it?
wait beaster - pleassse come to my house !!!
helen: get a couple of big boxes and sweep off your table into the box and deal with it on july 5
yep, i'm having a niece & nephew come over tomorrow - but that's also kind of annoying cause i have to think ahead to keep them busy
i agree w/ kier helen
yes kier - that has been my plan so far!
jili- i've read alot of dick francis - i quite agree with you!
personally i'd rather go to a party at a messy house so i feel more normal!
nope haven't seen superman - was the new kid good?
my expectaions were quite low for the superman movie but i was very entertained. the new kids is VERY PRETTY. I thought he did a fine job.
wasn't impressed with lois lane, though
makes me want to see the original christopher reeve movie tho
who plays lois - saw previews but don't recall
kate bosworth i think is her name. she was just bland imho
i don't know who that is
i don't know who she is, either, she is just some undernourished actress type
Helen, I learned a long time ago that when you are having a large party, you clear clutter and superficial dirt but do the serious cleaning afterwards!
LOL kier
Otherwise you end up doing heavyduty cleaning twice
i had lustful feelings towards the new superman i must admit
he's really cute kier. i agree.
(I have GOOD parties --or messy friends, --or both!) :)
yeah nef - but i feel better when i know everything is as clean as i can make it - has to do with being respectful to the guests- this is what i tell the SO to light a fire under his butt!!!
in some scenes he sure looked like christopher reeves, i think it was a nice choice
or christopher reeve, sorry, not reeves =(
goodnight
oh, well, if your are getting some help from your SO, that's good! (mine is disabled, he does what he can but if he overdoes, he crashes and can't enjoy the party
you going was? good nite then :)
niters wassup
sorry to hear that nef - mine is just lazy :(
that's it - stuck at 87, so i'll bid you all good nite - i think i'll put together the goody bags for the kids now
later helen...grid won;t be the same w.o you.....
good luck helen, kick some house cleaning bootie
yeah - this was another brilliant idea i had - nothing like making more work for myself - but they are going to get their bags when they come cause there will be stuff for them to play with & keep them occupied - the shopping was the fun part!
yawwnnnnnnnnnnnnn hi all
mine was a terrific gourmet cook until his M.S. got bad. But when he would cook; he'd often dirty every dish in the house (or so it seemed at the time)
lol nef - MEN! ok, nite all -hi ata, bye ata :)

hey everyone! I no i'm being a bit of a pest, but can i get some clues for the el words??
LOL, That is large! When my Tiki jumps on me, she almost knocks me over. I call her the horse, it's like having a horse in my home :)
RRRRR, one is e + a cut of beef
I can imagine! Rothko can knock me over quite happily - not that he means to lol, he's just a bit boisterous on occasions!
that was el5/10, the el4/7 is type of tree + y
that was a gd one FranMag - got ne more clues?
She is so large, that when she is in the hall, and I need to get by, she has to "back up", so I do the beep beep beep, like a truck backing up :)

rest
sorry
Bye everyone!!
BYE!!(:
when my daughter was about a month old we had a huuuge rott come running up to us in a parking lot
We got her when someone could no longer "keep" her, you know how that is. Once I get an animal, they are MINE, no if's and's or but's. I do adopt some out, the rescues I get, but the others, my family.
That can be scary Fran, you never know how the animal was treated, or raised, unfortunately.
I wish I could send Rothko over to you and Tiki - his owners don't look after him brilliantly. I just know he'll end up getting put down for biting ... he's already bitten one person really badly :(
he stuck his head into her stroller, the owner said he just loves kids, luckily this dog was a sweetie!
that is really nice of you cat!!bye
havent you gone yet Jemma444....lol
I know, you never know. When I take Tiki out for her walk, people walking cross the street, they are afraid of her, just by looking at her. She is a love, now, if someone tried to hurt me, that's a diff story, then watch out. But she loves everybody, all kids, other animals.
Aww Ata, I wish I could take him :(
Looks good today
el 4 anyone?
aleksia - i no u coz i am CM
Did they just not train him properly, or is he neglected?
RRRRR, did you need another clue? i gave you one earlier.
They have the potential to be the best animals, but if they aren't treated or trained properly, they unfortunately get the raw end of the deal, how sad :(
opps - NO!! i already got it thanks!! I'm so forgetful!!
Also Ata, is he allowed indoors? Do they let him sleep in a nice warm home? How sad Ata, he is such a beauty.
cat, i have a really good friend that does the same thing you do, she always has a lot of animals in her home and rescues kittens and pups that she finds.
he's allowed indoors, they don't really let him *out*! He has a 20 min walk each day if he's lucky....
right now she has four kittens that were strays that she is trying to domesticate. hopefully they'll be able to be adopted out.
She has a big heart :) I know I get grief from some family members for my animals, but the truth is, I wouldn't or couldn't have it any other way. I wouldn't know how to be any other way, it's so much a part of me, ya know?
Hey Cat9x
hi edendaman

legally they aren't supposed to stay on for more than a minute or so, but a lot of the ones around here keeping going and going and are so sensitive that they get set off by passing cars in the middle of the night. I have an se 5/10 that means very dry
i think that's what it means..
se 5/15 rhymes with a candy
ok, I take it back. But it SOUNDS like it means dry
Hi Munner how are you?
Hey from Atlanta. Better than yesterday, FMitch, but hopefully not as good as I'll be tomorrow.
egad, which candy?
Thats the way to think it Munner !!!!
se5 means dry in Italian...
those little flat, "wafers" that look like quarters
Sidra, pastel sweet circular wafers or all chocolate. It;s the same brand that makes Valentine conversation hearts.
I think it's a wine term
gotch I live right down the street from the old factory- thanks!
sidra, try doing the math. the total points for the word have to add up to 7
oops, that was supposed to be a gotcha-
only had five mins got to go again have a good day everybody
how about the el 7/32?
I used to love those candies, especially the clove and chocolate ones!
me too- the only time I ever shoplifted was in the first grade and I stole those
el 7/32 more tree like!
if u have the most el** you are the el 7/32
Confession time? The only time I shoplifted was sneaking individual packets of Chiclets gum at the register of the local drugstore fountain where I grew up in Arizona. I was a very little girl, but I still remember it.
YAY!!! Thanks all! Now I can get on with my day!
Be at peace, munner. You are forgiven :)

what did y'all think of Johnny in the new Charlie & the Chocolate Factory?
Stid, IM is on....
I think he gave the character new dimension, but it was a rather bizarre movie... (as was the original)
Haven't seen it boston. What did you think?
brb phone
As much as I love (worship, honor, want to obey) Johnny, I think I still prefer the original... but I enjoyed it... the original was more, I don't know, yummy! I can't watch it without mouthfuls of candy
Gotta go...Mom pulled the guilt card and is making me run errands with her... I was very naughty last week and went to get a pedicure without her. Hopefully I'll be back to finish the last 24!
It's hard to follow a film that hit all the marks the first time round. I am looking forward to the next Pirates of the Caribbean tho -don't get to the cinema much because of commitments here but may amke the effort to see it before it comes out on DVD
bye smithchick - good to see you again
later smithchick!
see you later, smithchick
I liked the first Pirates (pretty much all because of Johnny's performance) and want to see the second
bye smithchick!
I agree snowyowl -- we were hoping to take the kids to the new pirate movie on Friday, but it's going to be a busy day. I think it will be a good story.

Thanks, Shirin. I thought maybe I was being super dumb today.
ahh, good one kristin, ty
no not al att nef
looks like a hard one today.
at first i thought it was going to be easy since there are not any 8 or 9 words
Yeah, me too. I thought with a couple of S'es in there we'd have a lot of plurals, but I'm not finding them yet.
I'm having some difficulty with the to5/10s. Can someone help me?
not too bad...there are loads of plurals.....i'm down to 11, when i get to 10 i'm off for a while
anyone have the to5?
i have 13 left and am stuck!
to 5/10---think body and change last vowel
nvmind, got it
the other is a plural of a 4/4 above it that I didn't think would be pluralised
to5/10 means twisted.
So I'm just finding the words taht aren't plurals yet, huh? :)
thanks dorens, how about the re5 and re6?
that must be it nef
the 6 is re + a co4/5
ty dorens
re 5 is weird...add the cross letter to the first re4
any of you havethe ce6's? i have neither
that is weird, thanks
and the fi 5 is driving me nuts
the number after 49
oh man!!!! thanks
your welcome, glad to help back
i'm down to 8---time to go, unless you have clues for ce6?
add a t in the middle of the ce5
thank you
any clues for the st5s?
yw
i can't get the im words from the previous clues, can i have more help please
which ones?
i + possessive first person singular
i + its not yours it is m***

shich st5's shirin?
not the easy ones like st***book or what 7-11 is
I also have what a theif did

and anagram that one
one is a st5, 16
got that one too
i don't have the 16---they won't accept st***y
do you have the 6?
thats weird, did you try refreshing?
6/27, i should say
no, i mean the 5/22 + Y--tried that for the 16
found one, it rhymes with how a slug feels
of course the numbers wouldn't add up either, i just thought it would be cute
st 6/27 is a varient of spelling the one you can't put in the st5
i tried that too
yes that's it....the questions is, how do we figure out the 7--it isn't the 6/27 + another letter, is it?

i have the st7. change the spelling of the plural
opposite of friend

hi gang - pulling out my hair about the two ce 6,21's - anyone have a clue?
aknitter, i'm checking definitions of words.
el6/10?
el5/10
yes there are some weird ones
babbz, first one adds a T to the middle of ce5/12
el 5/10 e+ a cut of meat
the other one is ce + opp of go minus P + i
el 5 is el + a cut of pork
did you mean el 7
el 7 is more of a type of tree
well i am off to knit c u tomorrow all
well i am off to knit c u tomorrow all
i'll be dipped again - good work and thanks for the clues FranMag - you're a peach!

brb gotta ferret for doctors number
howdy, y'all
hi jen!
hey, Fran, how are you and the little ones?
great jen!
need a clue for en5/16
good here, too. Just finished teaching a voice lesson and thought I'd see if anyone needed clues -- finished the grid earlier today :)
more non exsitent words yah!!!
luwanda, not a friend, but an en***
I couldn't see it. i was working from the wrong e. ty
same here jen, just hanging out in between loads of laundry.
yw luwanda!
i kept trying the plural and i just would not listen to me
:) I know, i really should go to the grocery, but I'd much rather hang out in Babblonia
jen, do you teach in your home?
there is 2 en words?
actually, three, shadow
3
i do, Fran, which is really nice -- wish I could do it full time
frigg
en - jealous and plural
ok help please
lol shadow
wish i had someone near us that did that! what's the youngest you think a child can actually take voice lessons?
it really depends on the child, but I usually don't take voice students until they're around 9 or 10 -- piano students, I take much younger (5 or 6)
Hi again - say, any help on the el 7/32? Merci
lol....they have a voice when they first cry!!!
shadow, did you get the other two from LuWanda's clue?
they gotta be able to talk...then they can sing.
ok i got it fish slap please, fran i would say 5 is the youngest as they tend to know bondrys by then, like not to yell and over talk
babbz, it
i did thanksjen and i need a fish in the head for not seeing it
that makes sense jen, i have both of them in Music Together which after talking to MusicMom i've discovered is similar to KinderMusik.
my son was singing beautifully at age 3!!!
good point shadow!
oops, it's the superlative of the el 4
vibrato and falsetto n all
i was in a choir and the youngest was aobut 5 and that was training choir, learning all the basics
I love those early chiildhood music programs -- they're great introductions -- my mom taught me music early on, and I've always been grateful for it
i guess it does depend on the kid, my son sings, but probably not like yours cathy!
i got books when i was little
sorry to be a buttinsky on the topic, but it is awesome to hear and see your child perform
I just finished without having to ask for any clues. I must say that I peeked at other clues, but I got most by myself for the first time. Thanks!
it's something that you carry with you all your life -- what a great gift!
can I get a clue for the 2nd co 5 12 pls?
but there was always music, no dramas cath buttinsky all you like
join in cathy! my son is 3 now and loves to sing.
shannon, you rock!
concrates shannon
choir is a great place to start, and then private lessons to add on later
i think it was in my son's blood...wanna hear a 5-year-old falsetto!!! dang...breaks glass when there's power behind it
phandmd, sounds like a college class, no U
do you sing, too, Fran?
yay shannon!!
Wow Shannon! And you're not even pro!
Thanx FranMag
couldn't afford private leasons and had to stop singing when i hit the next level as my parents couldn't aggord it
grr afford
jen, we were always exposed to music, the island my mom comes from they sing in church from a young age, a cappela and in 4 part harmony so we learned young.
it's one thing to teach your kids to sing...but quite another to teach them to "comfortably" perform in front of an audience!
you're right, shadow, it can be expensive. I know several people here in Nashville who charge a dollar a minute for private lessons
i love to sing and at karaoke you can't take the mic away from me!!
acappella harmonies are awesome fran!!!!!!!!
Fran, that's awesome -- when you say four-part, do you mean barbershop or choral SATB?
plus i was always in choir in school
thats a lot jen, i think it was the touring cost and the uniform combinded with just starting high school that did it
cathyar, I'm with you -- I still get nervous EVERY time I get in front of an audience
choral SATB, it's really beautiful.
lol....fran!!! u a karaoke queen too!!!!!!???
love it, Fran!
fran my partners brother has sing star for playstion2 and we were doing that at chrissy
what's SATB?
just gotta look the people in the eye and sing to em like ya mean it!!!
i can talk under water so singing in front of people is no big deal, especially if its karaoke and everyone looks silly
lol cathy!! yes, that's what they called me in my single days!
some say to look beyond yer audience...better to look right at em!!! then u can truly capture them
me too fran!!!
jili, it stands for Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass, for a mixed chorus of men and women
shadow, you are multi-talented
yes, I can't look people in the eye when I sing -- makes me nervous
tho my son excels in vocal talents far greater than i....
ty, Jen. We have two great singing groups on this little island, but I just enjoy
jili, do you get to hear them perform often?
i had a best guy friend that i used to karaoke with, we had a set of rules and we would do theme nights...like pick songs alphabetically and stuff like that. great fun!
i have a girlfriend thats mesa(?) soprano i am alto bottom end saprano and my best friend hes both baratone tennor and alto, he has a great voice
gotto ago, dmmit
ahh...but jen...look em in the eye...and NEVER for ONE minute think they are judging you! you are there to entertain them...not to be judged by them
awww jilli! i'm sure we'll see you later!
fran i think id like to party withyou that sounds fun
*oy yoy, that's gotta go...*putting the vodka down
you're right cathyar -- and it's much easier for me to sing for people I don't know. Singing for friends and family is what kills me -- probably b/c I really care about what they think . . .
shadow, i love alto the best -- great harmonies and a nice low range
yes i am multi - talented, have to be to keep up with this chat box
nothin better than the release of letting it all go on stage....whether it be singing, or performing in a play...it's the stagefright the performers have trouble overcoming
bye, jili!
that's when i was single shadow!! haven't done it in years!
any hints on the 2nd f word?
sigh thats no fun fran, singstar karoke on playstation 2 is perfect for you fran
i agree jen...takes a lot to get past performing for those we know...strangers don't really matter...but that's just b/c we fear most the judgements of those who know us best!!!
cadfan, think of trying on a dress to see if it f***
just do it...the more u do it...the quicker u overcome the fear
cad i am inbetween forty and sixty
i must just need to karoake more . . .
ohhhhhhh thanks!
as i said can you guys get singstar on playstation 2 in the states
what's the first f word?
sorry, had a phone call
i did the some thing last night cad
ooo, that's right, shadow. I already have Dance Dance Revolution and do it regularly
3 more m words
i refuse to get a playstation, my husband would never do anything around the house!!
yeknomo, it's a number
yeknomo, that's being between forty and sixty
go, shadow, go!
i have my own karaoke machine...that's what got my son into it...i used to practice with him as my audience when he was small...he's just a little ham now!!!
giggle fran my partner is like that
it's so neat that you encourage your son in music, cathyar
he learned to sing in front of family VERY early...no stage fright with him!!! at least not when he performs...other than that...he is so very sensitive in other aspect!!!
hey jen, i used to sing alto when i was in choir because it was harder to get the tunes.
oh that sounds very cute, my cousin is like that, right little actor but his brother is the quite one
ohhh ok
ok ill admit it im like that with the playstation also
fran, was that in high school, or were you in choirs later on?
mezzo
just a beautiful thing to see the entire uninhibited performance of a child!
i know . . . can't get away from the playstation, unfortunately
if nothing else...i taught my son the self-confidence it took me 40 years to find in myself
thanks, mab, you're right :)
i can swim which i learnt from my dad, i can write which i learnt from my mum but the odd thing is i can do taperstry and cook which are things my mum cant do but my birth mum can (adopted)
in junior high and high school jen. always wanted to join the adult symphony choral, but was shy about auditioning when i couldn't read music.
cathyar, that is so true -- and he will appreciate it immensely throughout his life
(sometimes, i feel i still search for it...when it comes so easy to my boy)
hmmm, nature and nurture shadow???
i was going to reconect the printer but that requires effort
just needed an excuse to see what my icon looked like - not to be pedantic
Fran, is there a Sweet Adelines chapter around you? You don't have to be able to read music, it's great 4-part harmony, and you get to perform on a regular basis
who is it mab?
lol, mab :)
i'll have to check jen.
ahhh...shadow...i was also adopted and can relate....i also gave up a child for adoption whom i recently met and it is eerie the things that seem to be genetically inherent
yep something like that. I come with a 30day refund too
cath i am very proud of you to do that, to give joy to someone that cant have kids
met my own birth family as well...so it has come full circle in my life
me me. if I could sing really well, which is my dearest wish, I would never stop singing
that's neat cathy and shadow!
me too mab...i really believe it is the purest form of expression (aside from writing that is)
my mum couldn't have kids and they waited 5 years for me and they were nearly off the list when i came around. I still like to say that i came with a moneyback guarentee, not yet met my birthmoher- the father was a toe rag and ran off so i don't know who he is
or composing...as in poetry, music, literature, etc
mab, my husband is tone deaf and trust me, it hasn't stopped him from singing all the time!!!
Fran - my hubby too!! LOL
cath i do compose both music lyrics and i have done pub performances in poetry
thank goodness it appears my son doesn't have his tin ear!!
you really are talented shadow!!
and now babbling just rounds you out completely!! :-)
lol shadow...my b'mom had 6 kids b4 me...her hubby (not my b'dad) took off and left her with the 1st five...she got together with a recently separated neighbor (they cried on each other's shoulders), she got preg with me by him and he moved b4 he met me...she met ANOTHER guy while preg with me and married him and had my 6th b'sibling
lol firefly!
(to make a long story short that is)
shadow, is there anywhere online we can see your work?
if to fail is the worst thing that can happen then giving it a go is the best, because those that criticise are the fools for not giving it a go.
ooh cathy, now that's drama!
i love your attitude shadow!!!!
um i have an lj thats not public and im really slack at the moment when it comes to writing sorry jen
np, just curious -- i love to read new things
thanks cath, i have a terible sense of humor too, i was at a train accident and there was heaps of police, i saw what happened. instead of being nutty i helped out then piped up ' so many cops anyone would think they were giving away free donuts
ya, ya...i know fran.... like a soap opera right? but not really.... it was neat to learn my history and find out where i cam from...take the good from it and throw the rest away!!!!
look you can laugh and get on with it or cry and moan but laughing about a grim situation gets more done
that's a great attitude too cathy! other people would have let their inauspicious start keep them down.
all we can ALL do is be the best we can for our loved ones...(albeit without being trampled upon) ...and get rid of what hurts us!!!
cath, did your birthmum have more kids after you, if so do they look like anything like you, this is something i am curious about
I got my best friend, Reg, to sing Que sera sera in a karaoke restaurant with me once. when we finished the restaurant was empty. we tried not to take it personally.
lo/6,21 if you please!!!
Thx
lol mab!!!! shoulda put her/him in front of a huge crowd to do so!!!
oh i aint got that either babz
mab, what a coinkidink! my best guy friend's name is Reg too!
never take it personally...everyone has a right to express themselves
It was good of Reg, I think, to sing 'when i was just a little girl....' right out loud like that.

shadow (if male) has gone to pump up his foreams i think...to impress u all ;)
i have to bring a side dish to a barbecue tomorrow - do you think it would be okay to bring grilled veggies? I was thinking of grilling red yellow orange and green peppers, onions, zuccini and portabello mushrooms. I grill them with olive oil and garlic & some kosher salt, and it's a wonderful mix hot, But I wonder if it would taste okay sitting on a buffet and not real hot...
hands too, but forearms, definitely forearms
score, too :-[]
Yumm babbs...that sounds incredible!!! *mouth watering*
babbz, those are fine when not hot, especially the peppers.

yes, hands. I thing the grilled veg would be splendid.
