oh -- i hope you will NOT have floods, M3 -- you or anyone else over there.
you never can tell!!!!
It has been a pleasant day, thanks! I don't like fireworks, and they are still going off (just 12:20 in the morning here), but it will be over soon. Other than that -- just hanging out with a friend and my family.

Trying to find a good icon...
hi everyone!!!
i am only now getting tired again from my party, was pretty sleepy during the fireworks, but caught an 8th or 9th wind -feel like i've been up for days!
holy shitake mushrooms... i can't believe how many words are in this puzzle!!!!!
Good evening louie!
Haz - rather tropical and steamy, we had a mamoth thunderstorn 1st thing very dramatic It's great to see so many still on from the US.
oh yes! thanks for reminding me - i have one picked out!
we had a big thunder/lightning show, too!
how are all of you going today on this one??
louie - the first 250 were a snap
It's warm here, but nothing dramatic. louie, I've only just begun (that might make a good song lyric)
ooh i guess i need a new icon for the new day...
hi hi
yeah this puzzle is a good one but i dont think i could get 250 today!!!
Morning alll...Louie - just started and I'm at 119. Lot of words, but this one should fly along!
hi louie i have 110.
Back shortly.
Haha. I've got 119 words, too. Of course I've been at it a while. I'm going slowly it seems. ;)
okay, new icon loaded, fireworks over, I am going to go to sleep. Just too tired to concentrate!
Goodnight stidmama.

Blaze - hint for br8/55 that is not metallic?
autumn do you mean the br 8/50 ??
Lickety says br8/55
oops sorry br 8/55 after br 4/6 and before br 5/16
yes
br 5/16 is what rodeo horses do.....
first three letters 1st vowel and what we use to talk on
oopss sorry I keep hitting the return button..
def: for br 8/55 A heavy fabric with highly raised designs
sorry, still not getting it. Is there a site for searching these def's?
google lol
Google works.
hi granma
anyone have a clue...
for what?
this...
I am down to 94 words to go.....
there's 346 words in there, look for some 4 letter ones adn work upwards
Thanks, Blaze. What time zone are you in? I did a google search too and found a site.
hi ice cream man
I am in western canada pacific time zone
were coming to sydney on the 12th of july...you do no its grace and doug dont you?
yes i do,hello kids
gotta go
adios
bye,love you
why isnt tassle accepted??
sorry everyone, 2 of my grandchildren
awww
Thats fine Andree, it's good to have the youngesters in there too.
atalante - because it's spelled tassel
not in the UK its not
it is if they paid as much attention to the game as the chat
i know...it's like colour and color
and *normally* UK spellings are accepted ... .poor tassle!
Atalante - I've just checked the dictionary. tassel.
really????????????????? I've always known it as tassle!
I know - it doesn't look right or something, but there you go!
well that's my something new learned today!
and neither are accepted 8-)
is that a new pic of Spangle, Haz??
Well, it's a different one - she's looking a bit solemn in it.
tassel/tassle depends on where you r from as to how you spell it.
Spangle is looking like you have just said you wont take her for a walk.
Exactly, FMitch - it's the hard-done by, how can you resist me look.
she is!! "awwwww mom ......."
Sorry - just put in a word by mistake!
LOL thanks Haz didn't have that one. It's her eyes that really do it.
She's sitting beside me at the minute, back legs splayed like a frog, and front paws crossed. It's so funny!
as my best friend calls it for her springer "its that RSPCA spaniel look"
If you're leaving a spaniel, it's fatal to look at them! Yo ujust have to avert the gaze, close the door and go.....
tell me about it!
I can imagine!
Found a couple of big snakes in the grid today
one of which is also the name of a b*** (drink)
Morning. What's wrong with acer? I've got two in my garden!
its an Acer, not an acer, even though it *should* be accepted!
That one always frustrates me as well!
Oh! I didn't know it had a capital A. That explains it.
I looked at the nhm
cos its the scientific name used popularly. I think
well thats the only reason I can work out
I looked at the number of letters (oops, it sent itself before I'd finished!) and thought no way. But I'm so hooked that I've got to give today's grid a go!
go hydra!
Guess we're all the same!
Are you playing, FMitch, or doing Lickety's first?
Im doing lickety's today too much for me with work schedule, am stopping at 200 (at 192 now).
You're going great guns. I seem to be on a go slow today.
I'm stopping as soon as I've scored 1000. I'm at 747 right now, onoly 91 words though.
I found it very slow to start.
I'm on 192 as well FM :)
You mean the site? It was taking ages to put the words in, FMitch.
Normally with the big grids, I get lots of words quite quicky, but not today. I'm on 110 - but I have found some 8 letters, so there's hope.
I haven't found any 8s. I've got one 7.
WTG Ata Yes hydra, it was slow but I have been babbling on and off all morning whilst doing other things.
Anyone else woken by the thunderstorms? Twenty to 6 this morning.
ThWe got the at 06.40 this morning and there are more rumbling around at the moment along with heavy rain.
We haven't got rain at the mo, but it's very overcast so I guess there's more on its way and if so, I'll have to switch my computer off. I left it on in a storm once and the modem blew.
200!
Rats, well done, stuck on 193.
but its starting to get the tiniest bit painful ...
and we've got cool air today - I can finally *think* again
1036 words, thunder started again. Must go!
bye hydra!!
Bye hydra
Bye hydra!
that means I should expect storms soon I guess
FMitch - the snake sound effects are in the grid as well.
LOL yes they are
and the snaker are hi6/21s
Thank goodness for St Patrick.....
Now that one I didn't have Ata.
refrresh for a pic taken from a card I was sent yesterday!
LOL that is funny.
Very nice!
What a shame, we can't have mish to go with ma4/6
hi-ho all, how goes it?
Well thats the 200 for me so time for a break, Happy Babbling.
what a lovely large grid today
bye FM!
hi hurshy!
hi saph...my connection is a little shaky here

oh great lol!
i ALSO read about a british woman who was in an accident and when she came out of her coma or whatever she suddenly had a jamaican accent and can't get rid of it
that was *weird*
yes tres bizarre
I agree!!
i'm having a pretty successful day so far - i've got the laundry dropped off and got some things i needed at the pharmacy
all in a language i only speak "un peu"!
go you!
yes i'm very proud :)
Haz- are you there??
breel
sorry
what are all the boys doing there today? have you been left behind to do domestic things?
at the moment, they're at the louvre, which i don't really care for - i only liked a few things when i went the last time i was in paris. i'm happier doing the domestic things (and babbling!)
it was so funny i had such a time convincing the woman at the laundromat that dix-huit heures was really six o'clock
the mona lisa must be the biggest (or smallest) disappointment ever. its so tiny!
she kept saying "no, eight, eight, dix-HUIT" and being afraid i misunderstood
and i had to say, oui, mais dix et huit est douze et six!
looooool!
true about the mona lisa :)
ooh i just greyed my first box
second!
I've got 4!
:)
how many words are there today??
346
ty (:

yes. we're supposed to leave sunday but trying to convince husband that if france wins tonight we must try to switch arrangements and stay here an extra day.
you should
he was born in france so he's the one who should want to - but he doesn't know if we can change the reservations, etc
Guy I'm french and I can tell U that each ou national team wins I can't get enough sleep !
lol :)
you should at least try! that would really be an experience!
Going to work all sleepy is wel... a lil' bit frustrating :(
yes apparently the last time they won the world cup was the largest number of people in the streets since the liberation of paris or something
I was in Rome when Italy won in 82? I was only little then but I still remember the just amazing atmosphere that day
:)

i like petit ecolier better than pims
les sablés à la poire et au chocolat !

Pims are the best! But petit ecoliers are nice too! do Pims still make their white chocolate and raspberry flavoured ones?

Not yet, I'm Pacific, its a tad after 3:30 a.m.
I want a nap too ... I'm just waiting for shopping to arrive then I'm off to sleep!
hurshy, you should change your flag to france!
good golly, go to bed...ata... but then i'd have to change it to holland and then UK...too much work :)
I'll finish watching Emeril, then I'll go to bed :)
BAM!
but then we could tell where you were!
but you know where i am :)
not if I didn't ask :P

maybe after i find all my words :)
hmm i thought it took corea one day...
chorea
ah yes
rearrange the letter though ...
:) I am at 193 words, but can't see any more yet. This is a big grid!
it is!
how much do you want me to rearrange the letters...
i may already have an anagram of that
hi all
there are far too many words this time
start it with O
Hi Beaster
(just in case you didnt have it)
i don't think i do... i have a 6 with those letters and one extra, that's not what you mean is it?
nope
hi cat
oc5/12
just got here but can't stay long tonight
ah ok,
Cat, can you see my new picture by any chance? Cat cartoon ...
tried all the wrong combos.
how is the anime going btw ata?
LOL Ata! How cute is that!
when you get back home I'll show you!
back home? you mean when i see you in london?
it was a card one of my friends sent me yesterday! actually, trouble's owner - cos trouble's always squeezing into things1
ooh i just have one A left
I can bore you with art in London if you want!
lol, you know i like your art.
I love it! Reminds me of my Nikki, huge, trying to fit in a tiny box, and somehow, he succeeds!
F I R E W O R K S, finally
good for you ARB!
Hursh, where are you -- I just opoened the chat -- was working without it.
yay ARB!
wow congrats arb
paris
I have a cute pic somewhere of Sily trying to fit into a tissue box
a *full* tissue box
marty was laying in some board game box one day with a whole bunch of the game stuff still in it and trying to fit himself around it all
If you run across it, I'd love to see it Ata.
oui oui -- so much to see. If your French is good enough (mine isn't) my husband went to the science museum not in central Paris and enjooyed it thoroughly
oh cute! you mean he didnt just lay straight over the top? thats impressive!
I'll try and find it later, its so funny!
science museum... hmmm...
Thanks Ata :)
oh yes, the science park! thats great!
ok, eyes are closing, have to get to bed, see you all later!
night cat - sleep well
one a, one e, one o, not too many vowels left!!
bye cat
Hurshy do you have an aa 4/4?
yup
Hurshy: the aa4/4 is an acronym!
ok... that's nice :)
There are 14 4's, 7 5's, 3 6's, 1 7, and 1 8 A's
ARB, you don't have to do that, i'll use the list most likely - on vacation too hard to go listless.
thanks though :)
Aah (not in today's grid) -- it is fun helping you find what you're missing, ....
well i have 83 left... :)
Have you been to the Louvre yet? Pompidou? Picasso? Gare, reopened Monet exhibit? I'm green wuth envy
well i don't like the louvre or pompidou much - i have been those places before. we saw picasso stuff in madrid... also we just arrived in paris yesterday.
i'm not that big of an art person in general...we'll probably go to the musee d'orsay and one other little one that i like though.
What attracts you most there -- the art, the churches (i.e. Rose Chapel) ?
I love the Pompidou Centre. and Les Halles with all the water statues and sculptures
i just like watching people mostly. i don't love paris, really. i'm not a city person in general. we went to carcassonne earlier and i liked that a lot.
Les Halles is a very very good place to people watch
we're going out to normandy one day, that should be interesting.
oooh lovely
one of the things i've enjoyed most, in a way, is all the train rides and seeing so much of the countryside in various countries. the cote d'azur is amazing
Go to one of the bar-cafes on the left bank where Sartre sat, order a glass of white wine, and watch people -- a great scene. Also the most expensive cup of coffee I have ever had was on Rue de la Paix, but it was worth it to watch the open square.
my husband is doing most of the planning, i just kinda go along for the ride.
ENJOY !
or sit on the steps of the Sacre-Coeur and watch all the arty / theatre-y people show off their stuff
:)
or walk along the Seine by Notre-Dame and spend time in the little impromptu markets they have on the bank
:)
or ... or .... ok, I'll shut up now :P
there are a lot of things we could do, clearly :)
80 words left. only 9 are 4's.
do other people have a lot of the 8's? i only have 2.
that's two more than I have found hurshy
but I am only at 93 words
lol
i'm at 272
I really do dislike any grid that is over 200
i love them :)
200+ is too big for me to finish, then I am left feeling incompetent
woohoo, finished with A's! oh, don't feel incompetent. have you got a job? if you work full time then you have a good excuse.
I have 3 8s ...
ah, so it's not just me then.
yeah, and always able to think of more excuses for not doing things ;)
B's and C's... lots of B's and C's...
nope
maybe we can get compounds with our vessel.
we could try ...
it's not working very well so far
as8/40, br8/55,se8/45, re8/40
haz to the rescue again!
i thought of trying that br and then forgot to
let's see about this se...
got it!
wow that was quick work hurshy
i'm velocious
br8/55
hehe
another one?
Yes, this one is a type of cloth
is it a fairly well known type of cloth?
No, it starts off like a well known one, then veers off in a new direction
i can almost make bracelet too
ok ty haz will look
ok i figured out what the beginning is
does it veer off after the fourth letter or the fifth?
are there 2 br8/55s??
sadly there seem to be, yes
Yes - the first one relates to a metal, the second to a type of cloth.
yes - Hi everyone
hi lynx
*sigh* there would be!
It veers off after the fifth letter (I've checked on my fingers)
ooh i got it!!
thanks haz, very helpful cluing there
You're welcome - I'm looking for the other 8's myself.
well they don't start with A :)
ok, I'm off to walk the pup. back soon!
BO 8.50
i want it to be boneless but it isn't.
Being really helpful co8/45
ah, i see. at first all i could think was cooperate
lynx how about a clue for that bo?
(that sounds funny)
BO 8.50 - just got it - fluke! - starts with a new ****
(oops) then nearly the fishy things - only swap an e with an o - obsure enough?
so people wanting the country were very close to finding those!!
Oh yeah - probably is that and all - you can tell I fluked it!
:)
i should get the list soon..
mi8/45
ooh
Is there more of a clue for the BR 8.55 cloth - cause I cant find broadloom!
br8/55... take lo6 (find on a map), move the L to the end, and stick the br on the front.
that's not a very good clue but...
coals
sorry!
The first five letters are like a heavily woven cloth that rhymes with maid, then the first letters of 'phone
worked for me - thanks
that was sufficient for me hurshy (and thats going some)
hurshy ... it worked for me!!! tnx
LA 8.45 (don't have yet)
i wonder if it's related to the milky la7?
oh i finally have 3/4 of the b's
no - but it is related to that man MI6.21
how funny, thanks lynxxx
aloysius...is the mi8 a 3 letter prefix followed by something?
ah well, i'd best get the list now
mister
Hursh - found it - you were on right path and carry on with LE 5.10
RE 8.40 next
lovely.
i have an re8/40
and ?
i'm a bit puzzled about a bo6/24 between make someone feel like you are dull and makes someone feel like you are dull
oh, re8 is someone or something which puts up a fight
hursh, its the make someone feel like you are dull + 2 letters
i have one of those 2 bo6's
but ata, there's another, which of course is the same way, but what are the 2 letters :)
ah there we go.

but it was funny!
oh help. the first 2 ca's are a 6 and a 7...hmm
ooh i found 'em. they sound spanish.
with no definition ...

ca6 and 7 between nancy drew could solve the ca4 and money?

hurshy, I didnt think you used that anymore?

How's the trip going?
Hey hurshy, I just got back!
didn't babble OR sudoku for 3 weeks.
how was your trip artlady? mine's going well but it's LONG
Has there been a clue for the ec 7,32?
hurshy, can't figure out male dressmaker :(
i was just going to ask for that one merk
It was fabulous, but VERY hot and humid. Even in London!
peri...take the truck drivers' union and change the first letter, then
we haven't had a single day of rain - but the only time it was really humid was in venice bc of all the canals.
Well, I don't know what the truck drivers union is
I think I got it
which word was the male dressmake one? was it the co6/21?
hurshy, got it, thanks
no shutter, the se8
Venice's weather actually ended up the best at the end. Florence, Sorrento, etc. hotter than last year in July.
Oh, thanks got it right away after I saw that it started with se. Thankyou hurshy.
so...nobody out there has the ec7/32?
I got it
not yet
global warming strikes again

science word!
The third letter is the cross, then a vowel, and then sometimes you call a sibling your ...

Met with Babbler in London. We had a Babble convention of two people!
oh bother.
i know artlady, she showed me a picture. :)
I DO look like my icon.
i need a 6 AND a 7 between the person who ties shoes and the milky la7
thx shutterboy, i'm not alone :(
yes you do!!
whew, got em
you'll get there. where do you live?
Wanna share a clue, hurshy? :)
they start like the milky one... they end like a publishing company that has a rooster for a logo
well I know one that has a penguin as a logo ... is that near enough?
lol, which one has the penguin
Penguin Books :P
ohhhh
of course.
eh.....penguin books!!!!!
no that's not near enough then.
bugger
they publish... i think... the sweet valley high books
thats nice for them LOL
Atlante.....try something else just now......the clues will get easier in a while!
well i'm just trying to help out the people who want to google something.
rooster books = prohibit + ta 4/5 - plural
yes that is true. and also i could just say starts like the milky one and ends with 1st person singular of "to be"
Oh to be as clever as you!!!
lamis
if i were clever i would have said that in the first place
got them ty :)
well done Atlante!!
sorry guys. 184 to go, got to leave. back later
bye inge!
Thanks hurshy :)

and then to try to finish up on my son'scomputer
awesome dorens!!! how exciting!
inbelievably exciting, i can barely tupe

i'd say print lickety's list, take it with you, and do it with paper and penci while you're waiting
Wow Dorens! :) Nerve racking?
pencil*
this is not the day for me to have over 300 words!
is it your daughter or daughter in law?
trieid printing it, but it's not working....daughter inlaw,,but still an amazing feeling
sa5?
nvm got it that alt spelling
another 8, compound meaning the shore.
you could just try printing the screen, go up to file, and click print from there..that way you'll see the grid, rather than if you did the printable clues link
ok thansk
first two letters for that shore word, hurshy?
and if you get that to work, then print this screen too, so you can see the tile stats boxes
this is how bad my addiction is....that i'm here instead of in the car!! i know i need help
anyone have st7?
waiting for hurshy's answer re the shore word.......
take off the end of st6/18 and add mother
that was a clue peri... it's an se8
ty dave
got it thanks
good golly. these last te's...hmmm
thanks hurshy found it
ok almost done just need this te8
fairly obvious with list. ok done.
hurshy clue please for the te8
wtg hurshy! :)
yay hurshy!
wtg hurshy
well peri, first there's te5, bother your younger sibling. then there is a movie promo that's the last te6. between those there is a 6, 8, and 7...so not much can go there...
the only thing is at first i didn't know if the movie promo was last or right after the five so thought the others could be most anything.
ok, how much do i want the word relocate!
i did too blue :)
ok i need a shower and maybe after that i can give some more clues
we suffer together then
ohhh didnt knoe that te word could take *that* ending as well. interesting!
ain't it just ata? :)
do you think they pick te7s for a living?
i guess but i have to look up that te cause i don't know what it is in the first place
I do :) the 6 and 7 were nearly my first words!
they are some of my fvourite plants
ah so probably a person who produces a napped surface on a fabric.
it has an alt def though ata.
Good morning everyone. Huge word count - are they easy?
I think they use them for making paintings of that famous chinese drink.
oh! yes of course .... I like my explanation better though!
it's not bad SMF
Against my common sense I'm thinking about starting. Have tons to do today in my nonbabble life though
i did almost 300 without the list, then used list, and my overall rate was about 100 wpm.
what is the exact number for this huge word count today
i mean wph.
346
346.
100 words per minute? thats impressive!
346 AE
ok then... thanks
lol ata, i fixed it you see. just used to saying wpm about typing so...
what list ?? Am I playing without all cards in hand ???
LOL! 100 wpm... and YOU are complaining about ME???
I think I'll start knowing I may not finish today. I can't stand to leave a big one unattempted.
oh fine just te5 me galore then
lol I know :) couldn't resist te5-ing though :P
1, 2, 3, Here I go........
hehehe
for some reason cannot figure out the te8 got the te6 and 7
ok really going to shower now
peri: insert vowel.
Bye hurshy, see you soon :)
sprite insert it where :)
Now that would be telling, peri :)
is there a clue as to printing lickety's list---preferably in as few pages as possible?
okay with me sprite :)
Okay, peri, just make the 6/18 into a person doing it then.
278 words left to be found...
Haygan Look at Friends of Babble below, there is a link to Licketys list but also look at Angelsongs link as lots of hints and how toos there also
sprite, thanks ever so much, now I can take a break
yw :)
60 c words? I should have looked at that before I started.
100 to go!
go ata go
hi pplz
hi CLM
urf. there is only 1 problem with having my fan on high power - it blows all the cat hair around everywhere
ATa I have that problem too. I turned all the ceiling fans on and now the dust bunnies are dancing.
ata, LOL!!
Chooooo!
346 words today wooo eeeeee
really? has no one said anything for 11 minutes?
really
really
wow.
's true - must be something to do with 346 (!*! words
So who is going to win....Italy, France, or Portugal?
Which has most yellow cards?
not sure.
There's a huge Italian population here so there was some major partying last night.
go france!
I am ever so glad the Netherlands are out of it.
or italy or portugal!
go Italy!
Nice icon, mab.
are all three i words is?
thank you sprite.
Italy, France, Portugal... you ALL go, and leave me alone :D
what is the icon theme today?
(((((hurshy)))) I miss you!
great literary works made into films
I think we should have an icon theme of cats in boxes one day
thanks mab
adorable atalante, and so true!
Okay I fixed my icon. It's a repeat but I'm too lazy to look for a new one
sorry....had to pay attention to the squirt.........back again. Can't decide if I want to jump into the grid or not. There's no way I have enough time to finish a monster like this one today.
mab, did you get the things done?
Minski I had the same dilemma. I decided to go for it. I have 120 words in about a half hour.
First 200 or so aren't hard to find, musicmom.
I mean... Minski!
sort of - tis a work in progress :)
any clues for the first AC5/12 plz?
it's one of those acid related words jakes-mum
ahhh got it ty hurshy!
ok back again....started another load of laundry....2nd of the day and it's only 9:30......I think I deserve a little babbling even if I don't finish.
No need to finish. Only need to have fun :)
that was my thought sprite. I couldn't pass this one up. it's fun!
so true.
I agree, musicmom, lots of fun words to find today :)
I usually make myself hysterical over finishing these behemoths, but I'm beginning to get past that.
I think as soon as you feel pushed to finish, it takes away some of the fun in playing.
Good morning all! Hurshy, where art thou today? :)
i art in paris
could I have a clue for the AE6 plz?
I used to too Mab but I am finding with the kids home this summer, finishing is just not an option on some days.
Paris art the city to be for art :D
ae+french for dress
jakes-mum: oxygen-needing creature. Or Ae + dress.
great clues gang - thanks
ty everyone! A's are now done
ok clue for the BR7 anyone?
without a breast support jakes
or - what I wish I were right now
That's one of my favorites for today!
why is it always the easy ones I cannot find (groan) ty musicmom
I have to admit _ I saw a clue from the log this morning.
I have to admit _ I saw a clue from the log this morning.
Words with that ending are never easy. They're almost sorta compounds.
now need the second BR8/55
OH NO I don't have any br8 words
jakes-mum: a heavy fabric with highly raised designs. Somehow it sounds like a cellphone provider.
Okay I have one - sort of like big wigs in the armed forces
musicmom: and the first Br8 shines like copper, but is worth a lot less.
Oh darn, I said a word. Sorry.
yep that's the one I have sprite. I'm looking for the other you clued. thanks!
Okay, if I want to find all the Cs, I need the list. Lickety, darrrrrling, here I come! :)
found it . Thank you reverse dictionary
yep sprite I'm with you. Those c words are list worthy
I STILL cant find it!! HELP!!
first three letters of not your sister+ where is it ** (bad grammer)+ chicago train
jakes-mum: 1st part: short for male sibling 2nd part: feline creature 3rd part: old measure of length, lose last letter.
musicmom left out a c
ooops add a consonant after the first three letters of not your sister
maybe we should say injured a TV or phone
ahhh! ty ty ty everyone you are all daaaaarlings!
it's the word you're thinking of but with a 'don't ask, don't *** ' at the end instead of 'lemon***''
You guys were right. 102 word without the list on the first go around. Not bad.
Sesame STreet is almost over so time to dress the baby and take a walk. I'll be back later.
I know you have the word already jakes-mum, but I spent a lot of time typing that clue!
LOL!
I understand completely mab, thank you
bye Minski!
got that br8 before leaving though. thanks all.
Okay. I need to pop out for a while. Be back later for more. 163 on my first pass isn't bad
really going now. tatafn
Good job. I am down to 4 and now that I have Lickety's list open, I am very much tempted to use it for them as well...
don't do it! LOL!
Hehe, too late! Only 2 more Ls to find and jeez, that list is very helpful!
Great, done :)
woot!
Well done sprite :D
Thanks to Lickety :)
Any clues I can help with?
hurrah for Sprite!
congrats sprite
am just about managing so far .... I think!
Okay, I am off then. Enjoy the chase and see you soon :)
bye dear!
good bye sprite - 'til next time!
Oh my goodness!! there are over 300 words!!! ACK!!
could I have a clue for the EC7 plz?
I don't have that one jakes
*****FIREWORKS*******for
*****FIREWORKS*******for SPRITE
Yeah for Sprite!

I own a godzilla, but mine is pink.

Pink Godzilla?
yes. I have two, but one I painted gold with sparkles. The pink one is Barbie's boyfriend.
Was just asking because your profile mentioned Noam. I adore him too.
Oh yes. He's my dream man, socio-politically and otherwise. Love Howard Zinn too.

Try quitting, then come back with "fresh eyes." works for me!
HA..i just came back...but may have to try it again..(sigh)
good advice, Krista -- I have 143 left to find and am going to take a break... have fun!
Of course,I HAVE to do it that way...50 million interruptions every day (work, kids, you know, all the stuff that interferes with babble).
You're about 140 ahead if me, liana ..
*of* me ..
Enjoy your break..catch you later, ch1212
That
well, Tor, you just got here a bit ago. Am sure you will catch up in no time. Ijust never have the patience to finish one after working an hour or so on it.
That's it. 343 words and out of energy. 3 to go.
what
Well, I still have 196 left! Hi all.
Hi, art lady!! :)/
sorry - what's with me - I can never find the smallest words -I need help with the el 4/4!!!!
artlady! hi! :)
no6, anyone?
Hi liana! How are you?
Am out of here..am too anxious to continue Appt with cardiologist on fri..and the deadline looms..ack
Hi mab, same to you!
el4/4 is an anagram of the snakelike fish
Later lianakate ..
Good luck with that liana.
art lady - just read your profile - is there really a Babble convention coming up?
There was, Krista.
Oooh lian, isn't that the worst...waiting for something like that. Yes, good luck.
I was traveling in ENgland and Italy. The only other person who showed up was Babbler.
It was great to meet her!
Babbler hasn't been playing lately
How cool!
TY,Kris..not looking forward to pacemaker..but better that than a by pass!!!
She's had to cut back.
everything will go well, liana!
not sure which yet
UGH
ne6/18?
TY, annie. Am such a worry wart. Okay, out for some more house work..bbl. GL babbling
I'm sure it doesn't feel that way to you, but those kinds of things are very routine now, and the technology so precise. You will be fine!
ne5/18 - plural of ne5/10 - add part of what actors play on stage (relates also to a type of bread)
good afternoon everybody:)
hi jean, bye everyone, see you later
Good afternoon jean!
thanks haz. Actually I mean to ask for no6/18? But I didn't have the other one either!
gosh, can't find that stupid el 4 - even with the good clue (ty Haz)- feeling very ready for a fish blister.
krista, you'd better find it, or el**!
DUH - got it!
Krista...YOU BETTER FIND IT OR EL..
What el** can I say to point you in the right direction?
haha..goof..great minds
LOL!!!
no6/18?
yes, we are indeed great minds!
your mind was just el**where...
but neither of us "great minds can find the NO..haha
no6/18 - no plus a vowel then shortened form of female sibling
got it!! Oh, major YAY...lol. Now i can go do laundry..byeeeeeee
thanks haz, so much for my great mind. I miss that one every time!
bye now
Our no**** isn't what it should be today.
Ah well - you've got it now. One of these days it will come automatically.
tassle should be a word!!!
I agree!
But it's spelt tassel - we had a debate about it this morning.
Spoilsport.... ;-)
I know - I'm the boring one who looks up dictionaries ....
i had the same problem with missle
hey...now there's an art medium I recognize...
I'd like to add, ladies... what is up with 'cami' (and 'camis') not being accepted!?!
hey Miyavi!
it's obviously a male dictionary...
hey hey xD how are you?
i wonder if someone could help me find out why angelsong 4 letter words dont show for lookup all others do ,i know most of you dont use the list i tried angelsong email but it comes back any info would be appreciated thank you
cami
camis are very important articles of clothing!
well I would have thought "tassle" would be in a male dictionary...
Oops, didn't finish the rest. Sorry
ahhh yes, the Miyavi Fan's mind is in the sewer today...
EXACTLY! Girls, how many of us could live without camis? I'm in one right NOW
LOL Miyavi
Well, Miyavi Fan, I was in your part of the world a couple of weeks ago. What happened to that cold rainy London weather I was expecting??
i would be too, if i was home in bed babbling on the laptop
its tassel Miya ... we were discussing it earlier!
and missile
happy birthday, Boston. Mine was yesterday!
Artlady, global warming happened to it :/ ... hurrah for climate change!
Hey, Boston ^^ or, er, Mermaid...got two good names there...
It followed me everywhere...the hot weather. You could wear camis in London in mid-June!
Not me. Scary...
lmao xD The Miyavi Fan always wears her body-suit out into public, lest a chav brushes past.
my very appropriate "phantom" word of the day...macabre
It's almost there...
oh thanks, bonkler, now I'll see it every time ;)
the question is, would 'camisole' be accepted? I'm guessing yes...
I would be certain that camisole would be acceptable.
Just rearrange a couple of tiles...
Miy!!!!!
Miyavi_fan long time no see.. hope all is well with you... I am back this morning to finish my last 65 words.....LOL
a "free tile" would be fun in Babble (it could be any letter)
long time no see Blaze either! delightful to see you both :)
half done. Time for coffe. Trying to get caught up on Ironsudoku AND doing a big puzzle has eaten up the morning!
Later artlady. must do errands.
i want tassle!
last night it was exposed that tassel is the correct spelling....
oh! razzle frazzle :/
or rather, razzel frazzel
it still seems it should be a word, though, with a different meaning. should I write my congressman?
i like your free tile idea Krista
could I get a clue for the ST7 plz
thanks, Wyrd. I'm always into complicating things.
me too, it's my nature
tee hee, same here. Where was your picture taken?
down south from me about 30 miles, bandon oregon
st + first vowel + si4/5
i have a desire to stand by interesting and suggestive signs
ty une
wyrd, i drive my daughter crazy making her pose by interesting and funny signs when we travel together! :-)
I"ve never been to your part of the country. I hear it is gorgeous, though.
haha! my kids hate my antics too
Une - how was your trip to Maryland??
i think its gorgeous Krista, and thanks
hey, krista! long drive but good visit with my daughter and her boyfriend--spent some time in Silver Spring and DC in addition to touring the UMD campus and general area :-)
Hope it has stopped the torrential rain by then (can't remember)
had
yep, only one quick afternoon shower
Oh, good then! I commuted to UMCP for one semester. Too much of a drive. I liked the campus, though.
Help, please, with the "n" words from the top corner. I think I had to much beer for my birthday last night.
i just realized i have NO n words yet, but happy birthday Krista
thanks, I celebrated a lot because it was my last...39. I refuse to go any further.
Hi all, I think I've tried every possible aa** and cannot come up with anything that is accepted - any help there?
hi kids... big, scary grid today! i'm afraid. mostly, that i will spend all day playing babble and pretending that i don't have responsibilities!
i like to add about ten years to my age the other way, then people go, ooo you look good for your age!
krista, i was very impressed with the public transportation options--they're determined to pretty much park the car for 2 years and I think they'll manage (esp. with the biking option too)
alls well that starts well....hint hints....
oh, happy birthday, krista!!!
goob, i'm having trouble with this one! i went for lickety before i was even halfway through...unusual for me
that's not what i want to hear! i prefer to hear that you got 300 in the first 30 minutes... feel free to lie!
oh! ahem...err...it is sooooo easy today, you'll fly through it!
wyrd, here's one of my pix of my daughter in NYC (w/ sign) :-)
wyrd, that is too funny! I'm going to try that one...ty une! yes, they do have lots of public transport there, it's awesome. Unlike where I live in the boonies.
right could I have a clue for the Si6/18 before the one for a female sibling please
flosey how are you doing with the aa 4 ?
not getting anywhere, really thought I'd tried every possibility at least twice !!
a + plural of Mr. Gore
if it were a punch you would spell it awls
thankyou, thankyou, thankyou une was about to tear my hair out

off to watch federer and ancic!
better get there quickly Une!
Oh, there's a term for those words? This is so educational.
See ya!
been watching off and on, Ata :-)
Une - I am listening to the match right now on Wimbledon radio!
federer's been amazing
love him!
and isn't Wimbledon radio absolutely amzing?!!
It beats lugging my tv to work!
its just so cool that these things exist now!
hi all...diving in to find my remaining 107
I
it's fairly cheap to purchase the live feed to watch the match - but it does distract from work. Well then... so does babbling!
I'm off to the Civil War medicine museum...ought to be nice and grisly. See you all later.
Afternoon all......
hi caitlyn
Sorry to bother you with a novice question...where are you getting info like "si6/18" which I presume means a word that starts with si and has 6 letters and is worth 18 points?
http://licketysplitaus.googlepages.com /babbleclues.html that's lickety's clue list docthor
hi feather!
morning all. any clue on the ec7 please?
nice icon muse! hmm, that makes me wonder if there will be any harry potter icons out there
hi charm
ooooo, i just thought of an icon i can do!
Hi Doc welcome to babble!! You are correct with your answer if you need more info on the game go to angelsongs page at the bottom of grid. We will always answer questions and give clues.
Hey mymuse. Good 4th?
lol this was one of my favorite books growing up, glad to see it was put into film
yes it was ty, and yours?
very nice, mymuse - friends came for the weekend - so ate a lot and shopped a lot and sat in the sun a lot. you get the idea!
Wow! Thanks for the assist!
ok, refresh for one of my favorite books/movies
Hiya, everyone!!!!!!
that was a great movie feather!
good choice feather - one of my favorites
Hi movieman..any storms around you ??
hi movieman, don't think I know that movie
And what does everyone think of my choice of icon? P.S. no at the mo, Caitlyn.....
Mymuseisme - you've never heard of "Trainspotting"?
Never seen the film movieman
lol no don't think I have
I can't believe no-one is familiar with the antics of Renton, Begby, Sickboy etc.......
ec7 = ec + ending that means balance but drop the first s, e.g. homeos*****
i am movieman :)
thanks, mymuse - I monkeyed it!
ectases
ooops!
ooops!
almost miss tea.
:) charm, couldn't think of any other way to clue it
sorry wrong box!!!!
change the last vowel miss tea
movieman, Trainspotting is one of those movies my sister foisted on me. And I enjoyed it, too!
lol miss tea
oooh, a movie theme? refresh for mine ^^
well the theme is great literature into movies
Hi Miyavi
a lot of animals in this puzzle...if this puzzle has a theme, it's got to be animals...hi y'all!
what movie is that miyavi?
hi scarlet, it's the theme for the icons
ok, back to the grid...i gave myself a half hour before i have to get back to cleaning
aaah, great literature into movies...>.< my bad. but the film's called 'Oresama' *giggles* or literally, "I - sama" (-sama being a term for intense respect) ...my favourite film, purely because Miyavi is the main character xD
Hi Scarlet
'allo caitlyn, muse
dare i ask who is miyavi?
cute profile miyavi fan - enjoyed reading it
thanks, Mymuse! ^^
my son and niece also want to be "rockers"
Featherbee...you can dare ask, but only if you have a strong constitution xD Miyavi is a j-rocker...and, *ehehe* one of the most girly men you'll ever see xD
lol, Mymuse...how old are they?
lol, ok, thanks!
(if you say 'three' or something, I'm going to be very upset...xD)
teenagers like you
but anyway, Oresama's shot off now...the theme is *properly* in place with the Meever Fan's icon xD
thank goodness for that xD
nice choice
another good movie
as 6/18?
nvm
who, moi? *fans self* I was watching it in history today...burst into tears :/
extend it for the 8 feather
lol, thanks muse! yet again, it jumped out at me seconds after i asked
featherbee do you need me to as.... you?
wish that would happen to me more often
i'm slowly but surely graying out those boxes. and not even halfway yet! eek!
Its a big grid today!!!!!!!!!!
still too many whites on mine, and have 95 left
helps to start with the smaller boxes first...like the N, E, etc.
gives me motivation that way!
I type what I see first, then I go hunting, otherwise I might forget
that works until you come up against the Ns from hell ...
I have fireworks!!!
yay caitlyn!!!! wtg
i have a whole strategy worked out...i go letter by letter, typing all i see, then i check for random clues in the current chat (not the whole log though), while pondering others, then i finally pull out lickety's list
congrats caitlyn!
I know atalante, still trying to find 3
Hello all
i have all the Ns, need a hint?

Thats all mine also stid..ty
ah
I don't have access to the list - any hints ?
I think I will go to the list when I get home. I just don't want to take the time right now... :-) but good to know I am not the only one who feels "lost" on this one.
ladynoire, yes, you can access the same list we use at Lickety's Clues, link at the bottom of this page.
nope, not at all. i'm very discouraged to have only found 22 of the 60 c words on my own!
cater

lady, add on to the last ae word you have for the 6
think of what you might put on after the shower, not a towel...but a...
en5,6 is like to put children in school, with one tall skinny letter less
huh, feather?
lol, err.....(thinks)
not a dressing gown but a ****
ok, take the ae 4/4 you have. add two letters that are a form of "is"...like it is going to ** nice out today
like an organicp article that needs oxygen?

Ticketh me off when I click on the ? and there is NO definition! Ahhh, good to vent every once in a while!

anyone have the final bo6/24?
a's finally are gray
yay muse!
sigh. never mind again. got it.
how many ac words are there?
any hints on the ac's
there are 5 ac+
there are 5 ac+
one is a type of nut
one is a section of a play, plural
one is a land measure
Hi! Any hints on the is5/10. Just can't seem to get it.
one is something in an oak tree, one is a measure of land
i have 4 ac words right now: high card plus half of farewell greeting, nut, plot of land, and part of a play
ac5/12 = beginning of aspirin, a+ yellow veggie, ac4/5 land size,
got that one, and the one thats an oak tree nut
one is like the section of a play, but with a vowel on the end
ooh, thanks featherbee
the next to last re6/18? I have the one that means to go against something, so I think I need the one before that.
ok, i need to finish off my B words before i go
beginning of aspirin?
don't have that one yet charm
well, maybe pain reliever
beginning of paracetamol really ...
sorry charm, don't have it
but abe's first response says it clearer
ladynoire, that one is the high card + half of goodbye
here, aspirin is salycylic acid
it is, ladynoire. look up the chemical name for paracetamol
remembered after you questioned, offered pain reliever
ac5/12 = part/division of a play + 1st vowel. Is that what we're looking for?
charm, do you have the re6/18 that involves making money?
anyone have the bo7/36?
you mean tylenol?
featherbee, extend bo 5/14- one who brags
feather it's bor5/14 + last 2 letters for tylen**
I'm still confused
Abe - I have that one, I have the 6/18 that mean's what a fisherman does, too.
dang it! i tried that word minus the last letter earlier! thank you!
lady I was thinking of ac***minophen
aaargh...does anyone else keep wanting 'macabre'?
ooh nice phantom word
I want macabre every day ..
mmm, its says its not found in the dictionary
I want dessimate
the 2nd se8?
what's not found lady?
Mymuse, its it 4 letters or five
ok, my final BR words, then i go clean. br7/36 br8/55 (the last one) thanks!
5
it's the plural form
the ac+ word I"m stuck on
lol, Torg. Listen to my music...then you'll GET macabre every day. ...amongst other things :/
br7/36 = to go without corsetlike support.
I tried plural too
I clued it b4, bo5/14 then add tylen**
heh, thanks charm!
muse, was that for me?
yes! I've finally greyed out that stupid S on the right hand side!
eek, let's try again the 5 letter ac word = ac + ac***minophen ingredient in tylenol
yes feather
yay atalante!
oh...i got that one earlier when you clued it! i'm looking for BRs now. still need the final br8/55 if you have that one
my bad feather, sorry
still not getting it Muse, sorry
mymuse, are there 2 bo 7's?
hi babblers, 346!!! well, i'll try
hee, that's ok...i was just confuzzled!
hi annie!
duh, I was using the wrong vowel at the end
yes 2 bo 7
ladynoire - look up the active ingredient in paracetamol on google ...
sorry feather no have
feather, you still painting????
br8/55 = vaguely related to a common metal combination
bo7/36 one who brags, bo7/36 see previous clue
featherbee, br 8- like a trumpet
and hi to everyone, i never greeted you all properly before
nope, now i'm putting pictures back up and hanging new curtain rods
I just need the last ac4
Hello Abe
hi Annie!

hiya, muse
cassis
OH FOR THE LOVE OF...
any hints on the last ac4?
lady , it's parts of a play
£^*"@~
take the first 5 letters of a heavy ornate material + ***ephone number
alright, hands. I've told you time and time again...
*smacks miyavi's hands*
got that one Muse
THIS TIME, I'M SERIOUS
*IRONS Miyavi's hands*
then change plural to a vowel
does anyone remember Sniglets?
broke through stid's ducttape already miyavi?
...you're right, Mymuse. It wasn't my hands at all...
change plural to a vowel?
*irons toes*
may I ask silly question - why are some messages sent with asterisk at beginning and end
what the heck kind of word is that?
the curvy letter, drop it and add a vowel for another word
sounds very gansta lol
it shows an action ... so *Becky goes off and makes dinner* etc
it's to denote the person is doing something flosey
Flosey, that's sort of like...an action. So I'd put *sneezes* if I actually sneezed. Or I thought people might want to know xD
one of those babblet words
to denote an error in previous chat or to denote an action like miyavi ironing her toes
And Miyavi fan likes to use them a lot. *uses* see? *Flosey sees* okay, stop now. *stops*
Miyavi, stop hurting yourself but next time type a word I dont have
*flosey gets it* thanks all
miyavi, you're fun!
*salutes* Right you are, ma'am...
yes, she is
what have i walked in on???
and distracting! i'm trying to get that last stupid br8 still
miyavi ironing her toes
thanks, Featherbee...8D it's the youthful frivolity . In tablet form! 8D
Yeeeheee, thanks Annie too ^^ oooh-hoo, *takes bow*
hi melon!
br8 - like br5/14; add ending
*accidentally hit the back button* and lost babble for a minute
melonheadjujube, my hat goes off to that name. That's just an awesome name 8D
hiya.
fine. i'm going to the 8 letter word list, and when i get it, i'll let everyone have a clue!
thanks broll,not that one though
good Lord! :o
finally! Any clues I may offer before I go?
hello everyone, although I have been lurking for half an hour at least....down to 98 so I deserve a break
oh crud. do you have any idea how many 8 letter BR words there are?????
yay charm!!!
tons!!!
the last br8 is not related toa br 5/14 - i'm stumped, but no clues yet - i usually figure it out AFTER i ask ;P
br8 - "A heavy fabric with highly raised designs"
lmbo
There is only 1 br8
br8 - take the first 5 letters of a heavy ornate material + ***ephone number
there are 2, broll
ty atalante!!!
excellent clue
thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!!
thank you, atalante.....going to look it up
My mistake! Hadn't scrolled down far enough on the list. See I need it also. Thanks.
harrumph - bocal - the long silver tube that connects a bassoon reed to the bassoon is not allowed!
Good afternoon, evening all. Here to get the last 46 words. This has been a bit of a marathon today.

thanks atalante - thought I knew fabrics, never heard of that one
never heard of that one, is it fabric or pasta?
"is it fabric, or pasta"...that's something I didn't think I'd be hearing today
it's fabric and a new version for me
miy, i also didnt think i would hear of you ironing your toes. lol
well, what about spaghetti straps? :x (kitty cat face)
I just never know what I'm going to type next lol
LOL
lol, Annie!! with babble you have to be prepared for that sort of thing...
Please help. I'm stumped on 2 words starts with L and the other 3. One has 7 letters and the other 8. Any hints?
whoa! i'm halfway. it's too nice to stay inside, so once again, i am the standard bearer for mediocrity & wish you all "adieu", "shalom", "ciao"
3 = s
bye, melon....enjoy the outdoors
peace melon, cyl
Only 200 left!
jayloo - I'm not quite sure what words you're looking for, Can you explain again?
the 7 letter Ls have to do with place - in the geographic sense. start with not out of town, but lo***
bye
I have 2 words left to find. One starts with L and the other S. I'm mmissing a 7 letter word and a 8 letter.
lo7/32 can either be a plural place or one who finds a place.
Haz I don't think he knows if it
la or lo
se8/45 is a male who sews. Find the se4/5 relating to sewing and add the first four letters of the back of a boat
re6/21 after the measure of paper?
aaah, nice clue, Haz. Or, awesome licks, as we never say in these parts
re + plaster **** you put on broken leg
There's also la7/36 and la7/32. If you need clues for them, let us know.
Hello Miyavi! How are you doing?
hi again everyone - back for my last 100
hi saph
hi saphyre
Hello saphyre.
hi saphyre
Evening all, I have 20 minutes then off to the hay field- how exciting
can I have clues for la7/36 and la7/32 please
hi, babblers :)
HI Ping!
la7/32 sounds much like milk intolerance but change the o to another vowel
hi ya ping!
Hi Ping and Flask
Hey Annie....hows you ???
hi muse, annie!
la7/36 - first three letters as in the la4/5, then add opposite of wild but change the last vowel for a plural letter.
Hey, Ping! cool name xD
oh Muse you've lost me....
346 words is a heavy load but just fine, flash
*flask
yep....Ah'll never finish
flask someone who is allergic to milk has a la***** intolerance
'awesome licks?' really miyavi, is that what people say now - i mean young ones?
la7/32 follows the same pattern, first three letters of la4/5 then rearrange the letters of seat
Thanks, fan!
ok, back for more...
Mab...truthfully, no. xD
Got that Muse...thanks!
ooh, and the Miyavi Fan must excuse herself to have her nosebag attached...later, folks. and keep on rocking! er, yes. *coughs*
yw flask, bye miyavi
ciao, mf
later, miy
bye miy, hope dinner is awesome licks
any help with the ar 7/28 please?
darn, work to do, errands to run, etc. etc. -
ar7/28 - plural body part. Think nipples.
plural part of nipple, saphyre
lol gj, still thinking how to clue
i thought i tried that, thanks
no prob saphyre, i just got it right before you asked
ar 7 ar + 2nd vowel + spanish cheer ... pl.
grrrrrrrrrr I am *determined* to grey out one of the big boxes before getting the list!
how about the last br 5/16?
br5/16 - either a wild horse without an ending or the start of chest trouble
ne 5/10 and 6/18 anyone?
great clue Haz, thank you
saphyre - a bucking 'br***' as a cowboy would say it.
thanks:)
n + mr. flynn, minus a letter
ne5/10 == n+ Mr. Flynn
You're welcome abe.
i just got the list Atalante - trying to see what I am missing now. Usually walit until I hit 50 left but on this grid 100
got the 5/10 thanks everyone, anyone have the 6/18?
just plural it rb
Pluralise the 5/10
oh, here's my problem - I'm short 25 C words
i'm short 24 :)
25!!!!.....am short 40!!!
I'm doing well then - short 17!
of course, thanks! i was seeing that word vertically, not horizontally where the plural was an option
i think i have 43 to go!
it is one-third of my total missing words; glad I caught that..
43 C's Ping?
ok I'm going to tackle the c's with the list now
how many words today?
346
346
346
346 words today.
don't ask! stuffy
346
flask, i have 17 of the 60 C's so far - just starting out!
Gah... I wish I hadn't asked... thought I was doing good at 132, but noooooo
oh well, guess I won't have to try anymore, time to go to work!
farewell and goodluck
when you're really really just sing out....and I shall try to help if I can!
Bye stuffy.
Stuck**
co 8 anyone? (hint, that is)
duh. never mind. I already have it. blind...
give me a clue then, artlady??? :)
could you clue me for the co 8 artlady? thanks!
to help...with the co first
thanks artlady!
my pleasure!
ty artlady!
gack. only 2/3 done. It's a lovely day today and here I am inside...
thank you art lady
Whee! I blacked out a letter! I'm hot now!
which one torgone?
you go, tor!
Top left "n"
W for me
Oh, and I have the top right "e" too!
Hi. hey Torgone, the top right E is easy to black out! :)
I have the as8 & the co8........would anyone be kind enough to chuck a few more 8 clues in the general direction of the moviemeister?
re8/40
oh, well if you're going to brag, I have that e and the e in the second row too.
I know, nef. That's why I have it ..
The re8 follows the same pattern as the as8
ne + toilet *** first three letters plurel fo the 6
how about bo8-50? anybody have that? I assume it's plural of bo7-36, but I don't have that either!
I only have a few minutes right now, but the re 8/40 is someone who won't do something
miller, add a letter at the end of an island nation in the south Pacific...then plural
thanks artlady! got it!
bo 7 sounds like grilled bread
br8/55 uses a metal in descriptive form
haz, try saying your clue 5 times quickly, lol
And the second br8/55 is a material. First part looks like a heavy cloth that rhymes with maid (5 letters) then the start of 'phone.
I don't think I've EVER seen so many c's in one puzzle! Time to something else for a while.
has mi 7/36 been clued recently? I need help
Nef, great clue for re 8
mi7/36 - to behave improperly - especially to miss your lines on stage?
aaand the Miyavi Fan returns...how's everyone doing now?
Haz used a word!
tx Haz, i didnt go around the other way to make it 3rd person
Did you fnally get it Annie? :) there is also the ACT of doing that (re 6/18)
yes, nef, great clue
Sorry!
With so many common words in the grid, it's hard not to!
haz it was a fish word so i c no problem with it
lear
dag nab it
oooh...thanks, Praes...
what Dictionary is Babble based on??
enable
Enable
sometimes I think it's all in someones' head, Flask
LOL Nef!!!
thats why am asking!!
I take it nobody knows!!!!
Enable, Flask
It's called 'Enable'
The dictionary is called Enable, Flask.
whats Enable????
bye all. Good Luck! I'll BBL (only have 130 clues so far) :(
the dictionary Babble is based on ....
sigh...need a break and still have 64 left
The dictionary - it's called the Enable dictionary - as in this will enable you to find the words in the grid that Enable allows.
Broast should be a word. Anyone remember "Broasted Chicken"?
ok thanks for the information....!
I agree, tor! (ok...I'm really going to wrok now...)
it's more like 'disable'
lmao, Mab! xDDD
I tried broast.
was dinner awsome licks miy (now I have to work that phrase into every context, just to be annoying)
as if I needed to try
ok 5 c's to go but i have to rn out to the store- back in a bit
8DDD dinner was awesome licks indeed...sitting on the edge of a little perch pecking seeds out of my feeder, never better ^^
what is 'broasting' anyway? obviously a cross between broiling and roasting, but what is that?
broasting is cooking something in the oven - door closed - upper broiler element on instead of the lower element on
I broast chicken that way all the time - you put the food on a lower rack, not a high one
I'm amazed that anyone knows that. Thank you puptone.
Miyavi - your nose-bag reference reminded me of a story told about a lady who was feeling sick while on a coach tour. She had put the handles of a plastic bag round her ears, and was sitting ready to use it if necessary!
Haz, seriously?! 8DDDD
oooh dear. Mental images now
the ingenuity of some!
omg I've done that too ... the joys of being insanely travel sick in cars ...
Seriously! The rest of the coach party had problems keeping their face straight.
hm...perhaps I could rig up a similar arrangement with my eyes, to stop my tear-athons overflowing when I watch sad films... ooh, The Fan has a plan...
Atalante - are you okay in the front passenger seat? I can no longer travel in the back seat of a car.
Well I have just looked at 'Enable' and just as I thought....its a Purely American Dictionary.........now I know why some of the clues are so ambiguous at times!!
only if I take my travel sickness meds (prescription strength LOL!) I can manage about 10 minutes normally without half dying ...
any clues for the ca6 after the singer please? it's driving me crazy
It's the plural of what the singer is singing
lol figures it's that simple, ty haz
That must be horrible for you Atalante. Coach trips would be a form of torture, presumably?
mymuse - it took me a while to figure out as well!
Do you drive Atlante?
I've never felt so ill as on coach trips. I don't remember this, thank goodness, but apparently when my parents - in their infinite wisdom - decided to take us on holiday to Austria on a coach, I ended up more unconscious than anything else for most of the journey! Its ridiculous!
no ... but actually I've decided to take lessons again now - I've finally found a travel sickness thing that *works* ... its one of the drugs that use to subdue nausea in hospitals after operations!
"Broasted Chickenâ„¢" is actually a brand name for a kind of pressure fryer ..
well....I think you would see a big difference if you were the driver....istead of being driven!
But don't try the nose-bag sickness routine taking your test. It wouldn't inspire confidence in the examiner.
help with the en's
rofl.......I love it, Haz!!!!
en words help you to become a member
Thanx...it seems so simple once you see the clue
lol no!
that is truly appalling, atalante. how awful.
It's probably far from being a laughing matter for you, Atalante! I hope the meds continue to help.
I think if the examiner thought you were about to vomit, he or she would give you an instant pass.
I have to laugh lol. Otherwise its too depressing! And most of the time it *is* pretty funny when you look at it dispassionately! It just bugs me when people don't realise travel sickness can actually be really shitty!
I know, Atlante am not laughing at your misfortune at all........but what Haz said was funny!!
lol don't worry flask - I can laugh about it as much as anyone!
that's a good idea mab! I'll have to remember that one!
I feel for you atalante, my niece also gets sick in cars, but *I can't understand* can take all those crazy roller coasters
Good!....thats the best way to be!
ok....you might not be a good traveller, but I bet you're good at loadsa other things!!!!
hello everyone.... do you know it doesn't matter how many times I try 'brewer' it still isn't there !!!
I can manage planes and trains!!
ok really need to get out a bit, see you later everyone
Just the thought of being on a fishing boat and I get dizzy and nauseous
Hi Krays.....just move the 'W' over one space....lolol
bye muse!
most of the nicest places on boats and trains Atalante !
anyone need a clue before I leave?
oooh I've tried Flask...really I have
although you do have expert Haz here to help
and others
You wouldn't get me on a boat for all the tea in china!!!!
oooh boats are interesting - I can just look at a ferry and throw up, but I can happily go on powerboats / yachts / research boats
muse....I need 224 clues....have you got time....lololol
annie, me too
doing our first proper cruise at Christmas
not little yachts Atalante ?
The one thing I would like is going on a cruise but just the thought and I get a seasick headache.
congrats on finishing, mymuse. i missed your fireworks
the littler the boat the better lol. Its the roll-roll-roll-roll of ferries I can't deal with
LOL Annie...it was always on my 'to do' list
o
anyone know what the 8's are? i have only 4
i've gotten sick just sitting on a floating boat dock! :-)
re8/40, te8/40
I'm not quite sure about little yachts...you know , the ones that you must mind your head on
I feel for you, Une!
evening all, flying visit :) ...would you believe it!! ...when I had time to relax at the weekend we had short puzzles... and when I get home from a 10-hour day we get 346 words!!! ...good job I'm relaxed about these things (*grits teeth*)
LOL Une
la8/45
br8/55
re 8 is someone who wont do something
does anyone know what the LA8 actually means?
as8/40
Une ...la plus man
ty all
what? karys, I was listing the 8's I've got
ooops....sorry...hello sherb :)
hi sherb
Hello sherb!
Une -- elaborate on as6/18
Hi all! I went on my first cruise in April and it was fabulous!! I only took motion sickness pills the first night. Other than that, I could hardly tell that I was on a boat!
not asking for clues, guys!
hi Karys, Annie, Haz... I wish I could join you, but I can't face staying up late tonight... (not finishing is not yet an option...)
glad you enjoyed it Stephie...I don't have a problem usually
une, could you clue me the te 8/40 please?
i'm back - need to find 6 more c's
it is for me now sherb...can't bear not to start !!!
I've been back and forward on the grid today, Sherb - for some reason it didn't flow as fast as the big ones usually do at the start.
te8 is one who te6/18's
la8 is a fugitive
can anyone clue me on the 3rd ca 6/21
do you have the plural of Xmas songs?
yes
thanks une
do you have what's on the bottom of furniture to help it roll along?
The third ca6/21 is the profession or job one follows.
ty Une...didn't have that one
yes - its before those
i have the profession
oh wait - the profession didnt enter for some reason - thanks !
I see I should have had Great Expectations as my icon today... we had a competition at work recently to nominate the best book ever, and that was the winner...
Does it come after the profession? Could it be a loving touch?
and you have the ca6 tender touch?
Call off the search!
got it - thanks everyone :)
and do you have the ladies undergarment sounding thing
I haev 10Cs left!
oh...too late./..your done now !!
me too Atalante !!
yay karys!
Property Ladder starting... bbl...
That's interesting, sherb - Great Expectations... thinking.... My favorite book, if I had to pick one, would be Middlemarch, but I wouldn't chose it as greatest novel....
whereabouts are you in the UK, Karys?
Midlands....about 20 miles from Birmingham
oooo someone outside London and the Home Counties :):)
I know ...you all seem to be thereabouts....I feel quite left out !!
krays am in Scotland!
awwwww!
thats a nice place to be Flask... we went there for the first time last new year....I thought it was lovely
were you in Edinburgh?
where in scotland flask, husband is from denny
am in the Scottish borders....in a wee town called Jedburgh!
I know of Denny in Stirlingshire tho'....
that's the one
I was stationed in Scotland when I was in the Wrens. I was at an Air station just outside Paisley, which is now Glasgow Airport I think
about 80 or 90 miles from here....
we didn't do Edinburgh...but we did do Jedburgh...my 'hubbies' son is married to his Lordships daughter !!
c box is gray !
Sigh of relief from saphyre!
ooo ..well done saphyre !!
Lo0thian?????
don't know Flask and Roger not here to ask.... they (son and wife) live in Australia
Krays do you mean Lord Lothian?

coooooooool!
ae6 is like bacteria
Ex-Wren....sorry I wasn't ignoring you.....Paisley is all built up now!
ae6.....ae plus garment
thanks, got it!
ty haz
You're welcome jeffer.
Haz...the TE 6/18 I have is already a person...can't add on.
That's a later te6/18. There is an earlier one, using a different final letter, and it can be added to.
what is the clue for te/16 please??
Thanks Haz....that's a whole family!
anybody????
its when someone torments you a bit Flask
The basis for lots of the te 6, 7 and 8 words is the te5/10 - to torment or joke with. Add the letter that begins letter at the end for the first te6/18 and carry on developing.
The final te6/18, and the last in the series is the tormentor
ok these Cs are bugging me now
ok thanks....I shall try it!
By heing so numerous or by being peculiar, Atalante?
both!
There were quite a few that were new to me....
I've got 6 left to find ....
just looked at list...there are 35 ca's !!!

Steph there is a Dickens story about scrooge,
bye everyone
its a really stupid word, even for babble!
okay, i got that one, but still need ca7/36?
I still dont get it Ata, everything I put in is wrong
the first ca 7 is the plural of the first ca 6, here's the plainest I can put it: first 3 letters of Hollywood's state + 2nd vowel + snake letter + first vowel ... then plural
do you know a religion called Buddh***?
oh, duh
I've got that ch1212.
ladynoire see my post at 3:38
:)
well, that has got to be the stupidest word
I was trying to pluralize -ist
its one of the dumbest words ever, even for babble
I think my blood sugar is low, my brain is foggy
the very stupidest word in the babble dictionary (imo) has to be brrr, i though people were kidding when they clued it
yes, thats REALLY dumb!
"pfft" was also really lame
brrr --- i say that all the time in the winter!! can't say that i have been able to use pfft in any conversations though!!
I use pfft a lot when talking with hurshy lol
i believe pfft is what one says as the cola comes out of the nose at the onset of suddden and unexpected comedy
Ata, any clues on the first am5/12 word?
to am*** a fortune
add an ess to the end of any am4 word and get a prize!
have you got the other am5/12 word? if so, change the middle letter
got that one Ch
a + catholic church service (midnight m***)
got both of those, Ata
there's only two am5 words!!
there are only 2
i think you have all four am words lady
ar6 and ar7??
I have one of the am5/12, the midnight m*** one
have you got the other am5/12 word? if so, change the middle letter
ca7/36? pretty please?
now i could use a fish...i mean a clue for the ar 6/18
nope, only 3 on my list
then change the first vowel, in the middle of the word, for the third vowel
now change the second a to the third vowell
the ar 6 and 7 -- what we call the area around the nipple (and plural)
Bonkler you're gonna love this clue
I hve that one too, STeph
Ch, you beat me to it
put an ess on both of the am 4 words
bot both of those, Bonkler
its the other one I don't hve
... and in case you don't know what to call that, take your ar 4/4, drop the last letter, and add what stage people call their character
cheers for the booby clue
you're not making any sense, lady
I have the am*ss words
roam
its the other am5/12 word I don't have
bugger!
sorry
than that's it lady, only two am5 words, then two am4 words, both with only one snake letter
there aren't any others
in that case lady knock an ess off the end of the am 5 words to arrive at the am 4s
there are only 2 am4/5 and 2 am5/12.
add an s to the second am4/5
OK This time I mean business. GIVE ME A CLUE FOR THE CA7/36 OR THE PUPPY GETS IT!
Pretty please?

A sheath formed at the node of a stem by the fusion of two stipules, as in the rhubarb plant.
"A sheath formed at the node of a stem by the fusion of two stipules, as in the rhubarb plant"
Jinx!
thats what the dictionary says lol
gmta Torg
Well, that takes a great load off of my mind...
just wanted to say hi before I try to squeeze in finding a few words before I'm off again
hi mymuseisme!
I was worried about it too, Douglas.
can anyone help me with the bo words
Hi!
hi muse!
4 words have to do with ship
hi annie and torgone
got those four Muse
Two bo words have to do with braggarts.
the toughest on the bo words is probably the bo 7/36 and bo 8/50 (plural)... birth + 2nd vowel + 4th vowel, then plural
one might be an island in the Pacific
one sounds like the game with ten pins
no, wait, I'm missing a bo ship word
One bo relates to the Northern Lights.
got the ten pins word
one small one is the plural of the feather little girls like to dress up in (and big girls too) ...oops, and of course some men too
One bo means carried -- as in air-bo*** diseases.
Layne, who is the artist of your icon? I really like it.
don't have the 8/50 one
borne
Yup.
see the clue at 4:41 for the bo 8/50
so sorry!
The odd ship word is like a hotel for bo5/14 ..
Ch12, say the 8/50 one again
For the bo 8/50, start out with an island in the Pacific -- "Wild Men of Bo****". Then monkey 2 consonants.
ch-I have a bo7/36-but is has to do with someone who is filled with her/himself. Is there another one? There must be, and it can be made into the 8/50, but I didn'd udnerstand your clue.
Eva, pluralize the thing.
plural your 7, lady
yes Eva take the bo5/14 and add ending of tylen**
Oh no, sorry, wrong bo. There's another.
what do you mean by monkey two consonats
also plural it
to the word you just typed in the log
Eva I probably botched up my clue -- I've been guilty of that lately :(
thank you ch and mymuse-got them!~
Eva, since we've probably confused you, let me say that the bo having to do with someone full of themselves cannot be pluralized. WE're talking about another bo 7.
Fireworks for me!!!!
thanks Layne-have it straighened out now
I'll try it again ... bo 7/36 - start with the word for birth (bo**) then add 2nd vowel, then 4th vowel, then consonent that is sticklike. Now plural
yay faeriekae!!
yay for faeriekae!!!!!!!!!
Hip hip hooray for faeriekae!
Yay! faerie!
Faeriekae!!! Congratulations!!!
What a goofy grid today
Thanks everyone
Layne, do you know the artist's name of your icon?
bo7/36 = "a crystalline cyclic alcohol C10H17OH that occurs in two enantiomeric forms, is found in essential oils, and is used especially in perfumery." Hope that clears it up ..
Hoorah faerie !!
what the heck does that mean?
I'm afraid I don't. Do you, by chance?
Torg, its clear as mud lol
lady look at the clue I gave Eva....scroll back
br 8/ please, not the alloy one
thanks tor!

re 7/28: a kind of chicken you buy at the grocery store; OR the name of the kind of pan you might cook it in.
Sorry, that was ro, not re.
pre-fab chicken?
lol
ok, bunco is basically an excuse for 12 women to get together and chat and eat! oh, and there's a dice game involved somewhere...
Ok, now I'm not getting the la8 clues. I'm an idiot ..

there are 3 tables, high, middle and low. you pair up with the person across from you, and depending on if you win or lose a round, you move up or stay there. so you constantly get new partners
torgone, the not getting the clues has nothing to do with the other sentence... *giggle*
re 7/28 to educate oneself again
Has it occurred to anyone that "Breathtaking Arrogance" would be a great blog title
yes layne, don't have it yet though
I like it!!
you have 3 dice that you roll, trying to get whatever number is that round. they start with ones, then twos, etc. team with the most points wins...that's it in a nutshell
thanks kate!
Correct, stid ..
My favorite, un-realized blog title is "Generous Interpretations."
try this, LA + the movie title "** Smith goes to Washington"
hello folks, im going to try again. lol
hello wawa!
http://www.worldbunco.com/history.html if you're REALLY interested, here's a link i found to the history of bunco, then the rules
Douglas, what would it be about?
hi wawa
hi annie
I got it finally. Thanks for breking through the concrete.
hi wawa!
thanks feather, I will look it up. :-)
I don't know, I just googled "breathtaking arrogance" and it seems that lots of people use it.
I was thinking specifically about the New York Times, but lots of people have accused lots of other people and groups of people of BA
It certainly suits a number of blogs I've looked at.
sounds like a pretty normal game from the late Victorian era! *grin* I can just see my great-great grandmother looking on disapprovingly...
Just googled it too, Douglas. Seems to the be pair of words du jour.
heehee! like i said, it's an excuse to get together once a month! the game's pretty fun, especially if the hostess has good prizes. I'm doing a summer reading theme, and having books as prizes.
speaking of strange words... that "Dahoon" holly was mentioned in a book I checked out of the library today!

stid - what do you do to marshmallows over a fire?
instead of saying it's a fryer, you could say it's a ro*****.....if that's the one you're working on!
stid, that was the wrong clue, re 7 is to educate oneelf again, ro 7 was the chicken and the pan
or chestnuts "on an open fire"...
ro7 stid, a large chicken appropriate for ro5/10ing
relearn
"chestnut....hey! aml, you read my mind!
oops....i'm soooooooo sorry
OH!!!! I got it now... thanks inge and Fran! and AML... :-)

Have to admit I had been wishing for a bigger puzzle, but this is ridiculous!
my head is mush today, i'm not seeing anything!
with all the b and c words this was definitely a lickety day for me.
sometimes I wish I knew fewer languages... I keep seeing valid words in Italian and Spanish, that aren't allowed, though there are other Spanish and Mexican and French words that are. I am SO confused!
i went to lickety, and wasn't even halfway through!!!
OH so it is all your fault munner
well, munner, you got your wish

This grid is ridiculous. I'm wondering how and why they restrained themselves from using words like ECDYSONE, and similar ones... They could make the game even more unpalatable! I'm outta here...
I was that way artlady. In fact, I usually am that way. I have to agree with myself before I even enter the first word if I'm going to be okay not finishing.
bye erda

Is Spunky still here? I just wanted them to know that this is a HUGE grid and we are all trying to finish; usually people here are more helpful but with this many words....
Hi everyone. I'm far from being bale to finish tonight, but would love to at least get all the 8's before I go to sleep. I'm missing 4. I have: as8/40,bo8/50,br8/55,co8/45,mi8/45,re8 /40,te8/40 Can anyone help me out with the rest?
i am still here. plodding along. i have 141 so far.

peri, add 'to be' to the no4/4 right before it
Now of course I want to finish the 7's. But still need a lot of those so think I'll pull up lickety's list and find them instead of bothering all of you.

feather and Fran, thanks yet another new word for me
it's very unusual to have this large a grid in which things bog down so early on. Usually one can speed through at least 3/4 of the biggies-but this one is both big and obscure
GOOD GRIEF! I still have only 35 of 60 C words!
nef, that's better than i did! i only got 22 before i went to the list
does anyone have the first ca 6/21?

yeah, i 'm missing a 6/7 combo near the end 58 out of 60...eyes are crssed
ca 6 24 = spanish for blouse

st7/32, st + ** you like it + me, myself and * + nickname for mom
Hi, everone--I have no business plaing tonite, since I leave for London first thing in the morning. But here I am anyway. Just started, no hope for finishing, but need to relax. First day back in the office since before the mission trip.
Sorry - I was intent on finishing

night feather!!
I was really serious about Sarah going on our mission trip next year if she wants...
you can do it artlady!
arg. ca's are not my friend
I think she would enjoy that. We need to look at her schedule and see if it works
LOL Fran! Hope tomorrow's is smaller. Though that doesn't always translate into "easier!"
only 16 more to go...
127 to go, it is past 10 pm here , will play a little longer
i'm in same boat, peri
yes krista, this one was hard for a long one.
I think it will be June 24-29. Since we're in Cinci, you could bring her to moms or we could meet somewhere.
are there really and truly 3 ca7/32's?! I only have the one weird one which begins sounding like a veg in the cabbage family.
go atropos!!!
i have 80 to go, this grid is murder
hello
Okay I need to go do something practical. Talk to you all later. Those dates sound good - she might have to choose between church camp and that. Let me look at a calendar and I will email you.
eva, one is a person who sings around Christmas time
Eva - someone who sings songs during the holidays is a ca**
eva think of Dickens' A Christmas Ca5/12 with an ending
DUH! Thanks AML and Fran-don't know if it's me or this grid, but things feel unusually difficult to see this time
the last one is suitca** + ending of sea eagle (er4/4)
I have 130 words left :(
yw eva!
gooo nef!
you guys are just great!
all for one and one for all!
ca 7/36 anyone?
the problem I have is I don't want to stop and figure out what words I'm missing!
first 8 ca's. any clue on how to get those, i am stumped
hi atticus-had a cat with your name once. She was a wonderful, regal, touch lady!
I have been meaning to ask...I think the answer is no, but is there an easier way to get the words from lickety's page onto Babble than to type them in?
help with lo 5/10 after the one who finds things (lo 7 32)?
Atticus - a type of female shirt + abbrev. of Scandinavian Airlines
nm, got it!
I'm pregnant and having a girl but before we found out the sex we picked the name Sabstien Atticus
ar 7/28 anyone?
nrk - I'm trying to think of a way to clue it
plural of the ar 6/18
a friend wanted us to name our daughter scout - we passed on that one though
thanks AML
thanks AML, I found it though
sort of a glow..spelled dif
thank you...that was a ridiculous oversight.
I might clue it as female lion, but lose the i and the n
still not getting the clue for the ca7/36
hmmm, thanks - I'm not so clever - esp. after working on this grid!
sorry eva no idea
That's Demi Moore's/Bruce Willis' daughter's name, you know (Scout).
eva, spanish for blouse
eva - plural of the 6/24 - do you have that one?
eva, pluras of teh ca 6/24
eva, plural of blouse in spanish?
the first 3 letters of what you take pix with followed by a personal pronoun and then the abbreviation for Scandinavian Airlines
it's not a bad name -- scout -- but we have 2 dogs with that name on our block already ;)
I do have the singular, but am having trouble figuring out the plural. Probably because I'm so tiired. I'll get there. Just have to concentrate
sorry, called away by daughter.
That could be awkward when you'd go outside to call for her. :)~
eva, there are two "shirt" words, one ends in E one ends in A
it looks as though we are going to call her Madaline Auroura
the 7/36 is the plural of the first one.
Oh bless you fran! You always seem to know exactly how I'm getting confused....I was indeed trying to use the one with the e at the end, to no avail.
krista, i'm a doglover so it might have worked for me - too late now though
yw eva!
Go figure that it takes the plural Spanish word. I never would have tried it.

o + johnny ***H
peri, think of the slimy veg, make it plural and then take out the R
eva, 1st one is a plural of the la6
eva, one rhymes with a rodent that people keep as pets.
oc + ** you like it"
ro 5/10 = what you do to a chicken (not fry)
thanks again fran. artlady-must not have that 8 yet
other la7/32 is plural of la6/24 that is prefix for milk + i ** what i **
