250 words
hi Fmitch and Haz
wow.....thanks
Good morning mymuse.
Morning Haz, thats great re L, look forward to hearing all about it. Hi mym
She is in a state of anxiety - won't believe that the university has managed to conduct hundreds of graduations without her to take charge of arrangements!
LOL how funny, what time does it start?
2.30 this afternoon, but we need to be seated before that.
Send her my congrats.
Will do - I just hope she manages to enjoy the day. She has a history of getting anxious about everything!
Have you noticed the needlecase is back after quite an absence
God bless that needlecase!
im having some trouble with this puzzle today(make that every puzzle every day!!) (;

im having some trouble with this puzzle today(make that every puzzle every day!!) (;
louie - concentrate on finding four letter words, there are lots of normal ones in there.
I am finding it harder than I first through.

Well, I'm at 127 and will take a break to get some things done. Hopefully be back shortly to get some more.

It's just beginning to rain here, but it's still far too hot!
hi all - no rain yet here either, yesterday or today
Even the dogs didn't want to walk this morning - and that's just about unheard of!
Hobbit's been having her main walk at about 9pm recently - she's been very confused!

LOL, exactly!
oh dear, i'm gonna need some help if i'm to finish before my husband gets back with the tickets
tickets to where?
hey hurshy
versailles, and then we're going to longjumeau, where he grew up
oh cool!
versailles is amazing
Yes, babbling from China. And I'm really, really busy. Is it worth starting today's puzzle. Yesterday almost killed me.
i am starting to believe that babble will mold itself into whatever time one has available.
Hi hi hurshy
hi. ok so start cluing me up folks. anything weird, and maybe the biggies
I work from home, Merk, so I have to be very disciplined about how much time I spend Babbling; I set myself a goal of scoring 1000 points, then stop and get some work done, and go back to it in the evening.
wrong, I read a lotsa books, heroic fantasy ones and I swear this take a lotsa time (about 800 pages for about 2 weeks hen I'm not on vacation)
see ya guys catch u later
I like to get the long ones out of the way first, but they're easier if I've done the short ones.
well i've already got 139 and i just started about 20 mins ago
Ive only got 24 words
but then i'm fast at the beginning.
You're really good, hurshy. I started half an hour ago and have only got 88 words.
is the server being a bit slow for other people?
Very slow.
in + **ars of a clown + cheese *****r, for in9/66, past tense for in10/91, hope that makes sense, I'm very tired here :)
oooh what a nice word to have.
my bad, still got 186 words to find... :(
Oh no! Not another biggie. I couldn't face yesterdays grid, not sure about this one.
Don't worry. We all go at our own pace, heygan
they let us have unrip right? so why not...
I only did half of yesterday's. Don't beat yourself up, exwren!
the 2nd 9 letter one means to say or do again or repeatedly
not that any of us know how you can possibly unrip something
I didn't finish yesterday's either, too busy and it was way too big.
Trouble is, I hate to be beaten. Once I start, I have to try to finish.
that's the spirit!
marchons, marchons!
I give up when my eyelids start to droop.
that happened to me once, hydra. i had driven 14 hours that day.
Once I saw how many c's, and in particular, the re's, that decided me. I haven't looked at todays list yet. Oh yes, I work from the 'list'.
i'm getting list now.
di8/50, what you go on to lose weight + not him, but ***, plural. The di7/36 is not plural. Odd words.
the di is a prefix cat - does that make more sense?
but thanks!
remove first vowel in those 2 words, for 2 more words.
perfectly normal words, cat :P nice and sciencey!
yes, thanks!!! LOL, told you, i was tired :)
I looked at them, and said, what kinda words are those? LOL

was it just me, cat? I've never been so irritated by someone asking for clues - you were there, weren't you? with that girl asking for 4 letter clues and being horribly confused about everything?
Don't have that yet Hurshy
ty cat
hi everyone
morning andree
Yes Ata, it's like osme don't understand even after you explain, they want them handed to them I guess. When it gets like that, I just ignore them, and don't even bother anymore. They don't get it anyway, nor do they seem to "want" to.
Hi Andree
ah good, I was in a fairly snotty mood last night anyway, so I wasn't sure if it was just me!
oh bother. i will have to finish later i guess. i hope the internet is working later.
know what you mean Atalante,it was really unpleasant
Naw, wasn't just you Ata :)
hey, isn't de5/16 a proper noun, the painter?

The site is to blame the site is to blame the site is to blame (am I repeating myself???)

is that a clue for the re 9.54 sprite? or the it 7.28
I'd say it was a hint for drG to finally fix the problem.
wonder if it would be possible to use the tab key to enter things? that might be a fix
It would be enough if the cursor would jump back to the Add Word box after posting a message. Minor repair.
ohh, that would be perfect
hey feather! hi everybody!
Hey Fran
morning/evening fran!

hi fran
hiya - How's the grid today? I didn't even START yesterday's - too long. I see there's a 10 letter word here...

awww! everything go ok?
i am still high fromit....and yes it was awesome...i went up after she was born, thinking i could see her in the nursery...they sent me into the room with parents and baby, turned out to be the birthing room
How's the mum?
yeah, they don't do nurseries as much any more, it's all in one room pretty much
and i spent lots of time with her, holding her, talking, singing to her...actually i brought her from the birthing room to the elevator to her new room, whild dad pushed the wheelchair
aww, that's wonderful!
mum was pretty tired, but ecstatic...reminded me of me 32 years ago
*sniff* you're getting me all misty eyed
Congratulations, Dorens! *hug*
thanks asll---now i know what everyone means when they talk about being a grandma--- ic ould only imagine it before.....so, that being said...this grid is definitely an improvement over yesterday!
and i'm on my sister'
how did you work the grid out yesterday? ever get anything to print?
s computer and it is quite different from mine, so pardon my typos--thas + only about 4 hrs, sleep
no, for some reason, my computer would only print the first page..tried it several times and several ways...finally got some sense and gave up
this one is MUCH better
if there is one day i don't finish the grid, yesterday was it....when i got here last nite after the hospital, i added many more, after reentering the grid which took forever
ok, i need to go get daniel, he's sleeping in today, and if i don't get him now, his whole day will be thrown off
but was still way short of completion at the flip. i think the baby was more valuable than the firewroks, however
bye feather, have a great day
see ya feather!
"I fought I faw a puffycat"... Tw5/18y is not valid!
I wondered about that one too, Sprite!
thanks for the 5/18 though! too bad tw5/18er is a phantom!
bummer :( Still, it's a nice grid!
yes, tw5/20 as nice as yesterday!
Hehehe :D
Dorens - I prefer a printed list too but did you see the message from Angel - there is a new side-bar which means you can see the list plus the babble page
thanks lynx, and where would this side bar appear?
I sooo much want retrograde :(
yes, and i want zither
look in Angelsongs link below - you need to fiddle a bit but is doable - even for some-one as helpless as me
I want geewhiz
thanks, will do
Dorens, zither is almost there - with another beginning consonant.
owwww Ata, so do I!
oh thanks charm...i se
True Charm, but we want it w4 the Z! Darn useless Z.
maybe next time, sprite.
dorens - drop that initial consonant for another word.
Isn't there any nuze to tell?
and a guitar too, while we're at it
thanks charm, you're good to me
use two different letters to start and you can get two more.
yw.
got that one, thanks...and related as well
any clues for the 8s or 9 please?
can anyone tell me how many words there are today?
I have a 9 that is the present tense of the 10.
in 9--what they did to the schools in the 50's and 60's, particularly in the south
i only have re9, to state again
250
250
and the 10 would be???
what they did past tense in the south in the 50's and 60's
thanks - got the 10 and related 9.
What, string people up and burn things?
9: make into a whole (i66) 10: made it into a whole (i91)
thanks dorens and sprite!
yw
thanks sprite and dorens! onto the 8s....
any clue for the final we 6,33 plz. Thanks
Oooh - i was being too negative!
sounds like news about the temp, eetc
And I have a combo Re7/32-8/45 someone(s) that quote(s) texts aloud.
thanks sprite! are you done?
And to have quoted texts aloud as well!
Merk: made moist. Charm: no, not done yet!
Any really weird words here?
thanks sprite and matty! i might get to sleep tonight after all.
I have one that sounds like the news about forecasts, so it must be the other one I'm missing.
Matty - Try YE4.10
Merk: made moist.
Thanks, Sprite. I didn't go that way for the second cross letter, duh!
Matty: a4/10 axlike tool with a curved blade at right angles to the handle, used for shaping wood
Got that one - it is weird - it sounds like something out of HP Lovecraft!
y 4/10 burglar
What about DI 7.36 & 8.50
True lynxxx, they are strange too.
I have a di 7/36, but not an 8/50. The 7/36 would describe what an indecisive person does...
matty: try the same, but start with a program to loose weight.
Matty--add an e to the 7/36
Yep, that's strange...
Anyone know what it means?
sprite, I'd love to hang around and just eat up all your lovely clues, but I've got to get the Monster Baby to camp. see everyone later - 124 to go....
bye charn
degas
bye charm!
sorry'
Good Morning All! How's the grid treating you today?
fairly well, thank you..
Have fun with the Monster, Charm :)
And hi Minski
tx Dorens, I needed taht
yw inge
deet
dint
O darn! Sooooo sorry!
I *wish* DrG could fix the chat log somehow ...
What's wrong wit the chat log?
I don't think 'could' is the problem :(
gree
true Sprite :(
Now, that's 3 times in a row. I will pay more attention. Ever so sorry.
what sprite keeps doing :P that's whats wrong lol
Exactly so!
It wouldn't seem like a major problem to fix it and it would improve the game no end.
sprite, if you do it again, can you make it a 7 or 8 letter word?? :-)
you would think, wouldn't you!
Ah...yes, I've done that a bunch of times. Sometimes a whole bunch in a row, as I touch type, and don't always see what I'm typing.
yes - and preferably one I haven't got please!
When I stay at the R4/9, I rent a car from H5/22 :) We are right with you, Sue. I'd say that by now it is perfectly clear that it is NOT a matter of getting used to it.
I want zewt to be there.
LOL Fran! I will try... not to do that again!
great clues sprite!
yw, Fran! Not that I ever stay at the R4, but it's allowed to tell lies when giving clues, right?
we are in a virtual space after all sprite! embellish as you wish.
I am certun 'certun' should be a word ;)
we6,33 please
particularly since cretin isn't there
gran: made moist.
made more moist, gran
or alt spellling for temperature, etc
True, they're both 6/33, I see now.
Thanks Dorens
yw
Sure ;)
ei 7, please?
Goodmorning/Afternoon Babblers just popping in to say hello and now I'm diving in this gird *splash*
Hey faeriekae, it is lovely!
I Sprite :)
ei7 = Of, relating to, or marked by extraordinarily detailed and vivid recall of visual images
Dorens, it's what we all are here. f, relating to, or marked by extraordinarily detailed and vivid recall of visual images.
hmmmm- not getting that, but thanks..maybe it will come to me
Do you have both ei6/21's? It's in between them.
yes i do, that's why this isso strange
dorens, i just used a reverse dictionary to find it, thanks sprite and kateq!
Or: ei4/5 + nervous habit in the face
thanks sprite, that did it
where is this reverse dictionary?
angelsong has a link on her resource page, onelook
ok, thanks...will do someday...have never used it
anyone have the last re 6/21?
Finally got the last biggies. Some nice words in there! :)
franmag, your dragonfruit's a little scary!
aren't they strange looking? you should see the ones that are fuchsia inside!
Don't know if it is the last one, Kateq, but my last so far rhymes with We6 made moist.
are they actually edible?
kate, the last re6/21 is moistened flax
yes une, first saw them in Vietnam, but haven't actually tried them, taste is supposed to be pretty mild
ty very much!
mornin babblers!!
Hey evanadine
hi evanadine
todays icon theme is one i could really sink my teeth into! ;D
wow, when were you in vietnam?
lovely star fruit evanadine!
my best friend got married there! her and her husband (fiance at the time) were living there for a while.
thanky fran -- your dragonfruit is rather sexy too...hehe
une says it's scary!!
evanadine said a wo-ord, evanadine said a wo-ord, :)
this is very random question and a bit of a forlorn hope - but does anyone know anything about pricing for creation of tattoo designs? Not the actual tattoo, just the design ... I have a list of people who want me to do designs and I'm finding it difficult trying to work out what to charge! So I thought I'd ask here. Babblers know everything :)
that must have been quite an experience, fran
no fair calling me on it when i havent even looked at the grid!! hehe
it was une, it's an incredible place.
I don't know, Ata, but if you would accept such a request, I would be glad to pay your price. Really.
atalante, based on what i've seen of your art, you could charge whatever you wanted!
ata call up some studios and ask what they charge to do a design and what they charge for flash (what they call designs)
*dittoes Fran* ... how long does something like that take you, Ata?
Decide how much you think you're worth per hour, Ata and charge an hourly rate.
they may even be interested in buying your work on a steady basis. good designers become almost celebrities in that world
Hehe, evanadine, true!
thats not helpful, people :P *grins* and yes, sprite, I'm definitely open to requests now, I've decided. I struggled with this one for a while, cos I wasn't really sure whether I wanted to work with tattoos, but I've given in now as I've fiished my first "big" design - and it looks good!
sprite -- im still trying to figure out which word it was thats in the grid anyway...hehe
The dental one, evanadine ;)
Ata, I will email you *hug*
oh...haha...i was looking at the wrong message anyway...
The one I've done took a *long* time, probably about 10 hours in total, but that was for my best friend and a labour of love rather than price. So I guess something more commercial would take less than that ... and I'll do that, bonkler! This is really a new world for me to venture tentatively into ...
i don't know if you can actually copywright a tatoo design, but i would try to make sure the tatoo studio couldn't keep using it if you can.
yes, you certainly can copyright flash!
Least you can do is only work with respected tattoo shops. They guarantee that an original tattoo is not used again.
Good Morning, Babblers! How many words today?
something else you might want to do is ask the studios about limitatiopns in choice of colour, fineness of line, shading and contrasts. no point working on design elements that might not translate to skin. people spend enormous sums on good ink. go for it.
i once took photos around my favorite tattoo studio for a college photography project + they were very hesitant to let me take pictures of the flash for that very reason
hi all, realtively new here greywoulf introduced me.
hi blonde
hi blonde!
you can make your designs exclusive but you can also licence your flash. you then get a cut every time the studio uses a piece of your public work. like music royaltied.
Hi Ata.http://www.tattoos-by-design.co.uk /customdesigns.html..this may be helpful re pricing for tatoos
I would hate my designs to be re-used. That was one of my reservations ... if I design things like that, I want to design them for 1 person. Though I suppose I could do little nice celtic doodles and stuff for flash!
A talante, I saw you talking about your drawings for possible tattoo designs... Do you have them up on a web page? I have a friend who is a tattoo artist and does alot of work in flash
odd this conversation ame up now...was actually looking for a designyesterday!
I'm just putting online the final version of the one "big" design I've done ... give me 3 mins :)
here: http://www.deviantart.com/view/3587902 4/
ata, available flash is like advertising. if people like the smaller or more general pieces you do, the studio can tout you for an exclusive design, for which they charge more as well. you both make more money that way.
not apologising for the size of that pic, the details aren't visible otherwise!
good morning, babblers!
that's a *very* specialised design! and my friend has got a wonderful wonderful tattooist who has seen the design and is happy with interpreting it. But I'd really quite like to do little celticy whirly flash things too, now I think about it
can someone tell me if in 10 starts with the same four letters as in 9 please
inge yes
Atalante that is super!!!
that is a great piece of work
ata that is the kind of design that could make you a good living working in skin and ink
Fireworks! Thanks for the help. I'm going to bed now. Have a good Thursday, folks.
yay, merk!
yay merk!!
awesome atalante!!
really bonkler? ooooo!
hi Fran
hey annie!
lol I've just found this: the original concept by friend-who-can't-draw: http://www.atalante.f2s.com/tat_rough. jpg
thanks
Darn baby. I turn my back for 5 minutes and she's taken the bookmark out of my book and spread peanutbutter all over the coffeetable.
lol oh no Minski!!
Inge yw
minski, is that all???
She must be very creative, Minski
ata people spend thousands on body modification. put it this way, how much do women spend on a spa treatment and makeover? hair do and face paint. now translate that to a one of a kind custom design and an exclusive series of public designs, for permanent, lifelong display. good custom work commands a good dollar.
or euro as it were...
She looked so happy and angelic watching Sesame Street with her thumb in her mouth while hugging floppy bear that I didn't expect it right then.
minski, sounds like she knew what she was doing...wait for mom to be distracted.
well fellow babblers, have to stop where i am and go to sleep, it's after 3:30!! hopefully i can finish the rest tomorrow!
good night!
Hello all
good night, fran!
gn fran
true bonkler ... I think I'll have to pluck up some courage and try and talk to tattoo places round here. If I can find the more "respectable" ones anyway - I know its such a cliche, but I really don't like the idea of running round places that can be pretty intimdating (at least I think so!)
Alright dudes, what's goin' down in Groovetown, then?
Ata, most states require liscensure and inspections in tatto establishments and single use, disposable inks
Minski, are you sure you're not really the mother of one of my sneaky, adorable grandchildren? They would love being in league with your daughter.
Ata - there is a convension in Portsmouth this month or a big one in London in October, might be a bit easier?
the upscale parlors are like luxury spas. stay out of the biker places and you'll be fine. the market has changed. everybody has tattoos now, your banker, your nanny, your little sister. nothing to be ascared of.
oh *really*? that *odes* sound easier!!
does even!!!
Alright dudes, what's goin' down in Groovetown, then?
its all about tats, movieman
gear
ink
oops darn
I'm sure - its just getting rid of images of dodgy biker hangouts that used to lurk around the "bad end" of streets LOL The place that's doing my friend's tat in AStoria, Oregon was immaculate and really friendly :)
Ata, I just sent you an email. Even took me away from babbling, isn't that saying something ;)
wow!! :)
any clues on the 2nd de 5/12 please?
faeriekae: could that be 'scare away'?
its off-putting, faerie
hi faeriekae, love that icon!
OMG thank you soooooo much.
Thanks Annie :)
There seems to be a few biggies today.......so howsabout flinging some clues in movieman's direction for the 8's, 9's & the 10?
what the schools did in the south 50's,60's.. in
oh this is funny! the LOndon October tattoo convention is in the building I used to work in!
Nope I already have that de that's the last one I need the de 5/12 after what you get when you finish school
LOL! There just is no coincedence in the system, Ata ;)
faeriekae: de + rodent.
Thanks for in clues Dorens
OMG that's it thank you
or is that coincidence?
has anyone got a clue for th7,48 please
whichever ;)
ren8: more th4/9
th 4/9 plus comparative ending
cheers sprite for the help
Fireworks in the screen! Any clues needed?
congrats, sprite
Good 4 you, sprite.
hi munner

grats sprite!
Congratulations Sprite !!!!!!
yay sprite!
hi back to you, Annie
WOW Sprite, I'm impressed!! I only have 4 words so far. Just finished breakfast and have to get the new green beans, bacon & potatoes on cooking for lunch.
I want to have lunch at your house, rumplestiltskin :)
rumple, that sounds delicious. Munner and I will be over. What time!

Come on over Munner and Anniebrook. Have roll dough raising too. Around twelvish.
How about this deal, rumplestiltskin: I will do some babbling for you and you make me lunch :)

ren8: To walk or move unsteadily or unsurely
thanks for your help
I'm in the middle of the nation! Kansas, at the end of the yellow brick road! (LOL)
*clicks the heels of her red shoes*
follow the yellow brick road!!!!
bit of a ride, but i would love to
How do you know, it might be climbs on her broom?
doren and I are on the east coast but we will be there
I am in Holland, but hey, if I keep on clicking my heels, I might be there in a sec, right?
woohoo! I have 100 words...time to quit...bye all!
Delta says they're ready when I am?
Bye lizbeth!
bye liz
good morning all, does anyone have ae clues?
Oh, I forgot, there's pecan pie for dessert
munner is ready also, okay gang, lets go!
flosey: all ae-words are alt. spelling of e-words.
rumple, my stomach is saying "hurry"
the ad 4/10 what a silly word!!!
I claim the biggest piece of pie!
ty sprite - I'll work on it
flosey: all those words are related to 'medium that was once supposed to fill all space and to support the propagation of electromagnetic waves'
well, munner, okaaaaaaaaaay
Remember, Annie, I'm in "sick mode". Be nice to me.
pecan pie? PECAN PIE? *clicks even more frantic*
if i hadn't just had the grandbaby and need to see her again today, i'd hop a plane, rumple
ad4 is a word familiar to old woodsmen, woodworkers
rumplestiltskin, don't suppose you would consider moving to my neighborhood?
munner, when it comes to pecan pie all bets are off. seriously, how are you feeling today?
dorens, a new grandma, how wonderful! you have to tell us the baby's name when you know.
Any more clues before I run off and start pretending to be a good mum?
Yucky x 2. Have my lab check today and will likely get another shot to increase red cells. I am SO< SO tired of putting medication in my mouth. Guess that's why real food sounds so good. I truly could probably just eat half a piece of the pie.
i will...wish i knew now...my son is a noncomformist, so it might be an interesting
((((((((((Munner))))))))) I send lots of virtual pies your way right now.
Munner, I give you the entire pie and my prayers for your recovery as well.
Munner, I give you the entire pie and my prayers for your recovery as well.
I sit and read cookbooks thinking how good food used to taste.
I sit and read cookbooks thinking how good food used to taste.
That's sad :(
What's this about peacan pie? Pass me a piece please!!! heated up and a la mode please.
((((((Munner)))))))
((((((Munner)))))
Hey, I ran and took a pic of the pic and it is now my icon. Take a look. Rump
Have y'all noticed how the disproportionate number of truly interesting, clever, and most of all COMPASSION
Compassionate people play Babble?
Munner I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. You can have my slice of pie and the ice cream. I'll top it off with huge hugs and many get well wishes.
Not to mention great cooks.
rumplestiltskin, you're breakin my heart!
Munner - thoughts and prayers with you
Bye all, enjoy the hunt and see you all again soon. Extra *hugs* for Munner!
Munner, really sorry you're not feeling well. I should fix chicken soup for you.
hubby had cancer twice - 7 years clean
bye, Sprite, Have a lovely evening.
bye sprite
flosey, thanks for a positive. so many people, when they find out a person has cancer, want to tell the "horror" stories.
Ummmmm. chicken soup :)
lots of positive ones - we know them personally
with matzoh balls, munner
Munner - I am 11 years free. it is not all horror stories. good luck.
munner, stay positive....you know the spirit has a lot dto do with recovery
Munner, my mom has been through 3 boughts of cancer and she is now in her late 70's and still kicking
blonde are you australian?
no, Pennsylvania, USA
Thank you, thank you. I know staying positive is so important but also so difficult when the side effects are so vicious. It will be better soon as my second son and his family are moving back to Montgomery AL from the DC area. That's just 2 hours down the road (if I'm driving my Infiniti G35 with the laser detector on!)
oh I thought you might have been from Australia
Hang in there Munner, you can beat this !
Hugs Munner!
Okay, I'm at the halfway point, 125 found. Would someone give me a clue for the E next to the Z box. Then I will meet my self-enforced rule of only going to the list once I have "half the words and at least one word from every box". I know, stupid, but it's the obsessive-compulsive "Monk" behavior in me.
Munner I just read your profile for the first time. I didn't know about your cancer. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and I am sending over some go away evil cancer vibes.
how many words? 250?
(Hi, everyone!)
yepper goof
Minski, I'll take your evil cancer vibes and send the super good another baby vibes to you.'
Munner, et5 - a gas that puts you to sleep
lady, that one is credited to the E two boxes above the E I need.
hi goofball, it is 250 words. yes!
either
is it easy, not so easy, or hard today?
thanks for that munner. I could use it. the meds have made my monthly late. We are supposed to go to New Hampshire for the weekend tonight but I have to go to the clinic for cycle day 2 bloodwork and a transvaginal ultrasound. The weekend might end up being an overnight trip.
oops. A bunch of words could start from either E, but so far none are credited tot he lower E.
Thanks again munner but that word goes with the wrong E.
i have 37 more to go & am calling it a day. not terribly hard, a number of pluras. that's what the s is there for anyway. :)
good night onpaki.
ok! jumping in.....
I read a wonderful quote this week: "All of us can become discouraged. It is important to know when you feel down, that many others do also and that their circumstances are generally much worse than yours. And it's importnat to know that when one of us is down, it becomes the obligation of his (her) friends to give him (her) a lift."
utter
oops
Munner got it, it is the et5/18 you need from that e, not the letter count for a hint
Minski, I'm wishing you well with the clinic visit and prayers for you in wanting another baby. I don't dare even approach the soapbox about the topic of good parents. I have seen so much of the opposite in my years of teaching.
That is a good quote Munner and Babble is a great place to come for a lift I have found.
It's often the best part of my day, FMitch.
Hi Munner - I just got on and can't read your original post now, but I take it you are feeling poorly. I'm sending you my prayers and some reiki, and, if it helps any, the understanding of someone who has been through some really bad chemo days.
hi. what's our icon theme today?
fruit harpjane
hi!
I need 3 more words! Can anyone clue the re9 or it7 for me?
check out this watermelon (icon)
re9, say it again and again
I also need te4/6 that I can't seem to monkey!

krista I love your icon
fireworks!
thanks..i've got a cold seedless waiting for me today, but I'm not planning on sculpting it first ;)
wow, I can clear out a room, can't I? :(
*crickets*
crickets????
It's a sound effect ..
that is a beautiful watermelon, krista
oh right!
did you sculpt it?
nah, just a pic from google
well, i think you should take all the credit :)
yes-say you carved it
oh, uh, I meant, "yes, I did it myself!"
my phantom words of the day : theatre and theater
what are these "phantom" words?
phantom words are words that look like they should be in the grid but aren't
they 'appear' but only in my mind
at the moment, mine is 'nuttier'
mine's "garter". no matter HOW many times I try...>.<
...also good ones
grids like this often have a wealth of phantoms
must go, back later - catching 9:50 ferry, back on the 3:
see you later flosey
mine is gradient
why won't it take ghee?! Hello, all.
probably considers it a foreign word, yet it took "camisa" yesterday
hi sarah and allstar
ah, so I did have one, can't remember it now
the h is not connected to a g
hey
hehe, I know, I was reading the log about phantom words.
oh, you're right
prob wont take ghee since there is no h next to any g
Had a phone call. Must get myself tidied up now to drive my husband to the airport. I'll be back later this afternoon. (((((((hugs))))))
yep, I know that. It's my phantom word. ghee.
hugs to you munner
Bye Munner
can
can't believe there are 20 'g' words from the right side
way too many g's in this grid
are all the g's from the right side?
there are three from the top left corner, and 20 from the right (none for the other 'g')
I'm stuck on the c words...I've gotten 5 of the 10
yuck - just looked that them - could only find 2 so far
i've only 4
clues anyone?
i've got 6 of the c's
I have 4 Ci word ans 1 cr word
mine are all ci words
ce + r4/4
now i have a cr word!
thanks FM
now i have a ce 6 word, ty FMitch
thanks fmitch! only 2 c words left!!
ce4/5 means A company of badgers Sounds like something you sit on.
ci 6/24 and ci7/36 rhyme with wi 6, 7, di 6, 7.
that one appears a lot, I've noticed
(the badger one)
There are 2 x ci5's a 14 and a 12 that then lead to the 6/21 Yes it does crop up quite frequently Krista
anyone have a clue for the ty 4, 6 or 5,14
i can't seem to get those, FMitch..can you add anything to that, please?
sounds like ti 4/4
when you write a research paper, you do this with your references, Krista
Take the 2nd ci4 which means to quote as an authority and add different endings.
thanks for the clues FMitch!
oh, ok, I did have the smaller ones..thanks
Halfway!! w00t!
Thanks everone
you go, torgone
Thanks ..
your doggie is waaaay to cute, lenalu
did you finish yesterday, torgone
yw abe
Nope, I think I got about 2/3 done ..
i can't get the ci 5/14...got the other ones..I"m sure it's fish-worthy.....I only got halfway - it killed me to quit
ty4 - sounds like someone who t*** his shoelace, but spelled differently and plural for the 5. I don't know the 6 yet!
ci5/14 is the past tense of the ci4 above it.
Krista - lobbing the cod of obviousness to you as the 14 is pt! LOL
oh, she slaps me with the fish and offers no further clues...double ouch...LOL!
stephie - got it...ty...and boy did I deserve the fish!
oh - pt= past tense -sorry
yw!
(just keep slapping)
LOL
but I got the re 8/45 out of the deal, so it was worth it
i didn't! clues for the re8?
take the ci 6/21 and add a prefix
HI everyone! : )
Oh yes thats true Krista there is a 6, 2 x7 and the 8
thanks!!
Hi TO
Morning TO
missed the pt of that one, too!
i have 2-7/48..anything bigger than that
17 x 7 letter, 3 x 8, 2 x 9 and a 10 letter today
can anyone please tell me if the z is part of any words today?
4 times TO having just had a quck scroll on my list.
if you stay at the ri** you can get a car from he***

help with ae words please??
there must be as many phantoms as real words today
i just love the whole oops thing. I pull up the log and searche for oops and then read previous post's.. Always get 5-10 words like that
LOL de5/12!
ae - alternate spellings for the et- knock out gas
btw, hi all! interesting grid today. don't like the 9 & 10 letter words, but other than that it looks good
hi goob...love the name...one of my favorites to call people.. are you a goob?
goob, does the ae8 and ae7 go along with the ae6? thanks for the help!
You'll get a 9 & 10 if you think of calculus ..
that leaves me out, torgone
my phantom is detente
..or not keeping people of different races apart ..
stephie - yup - plural it & then go in the other direction and do a 2-letter honomym for 'yuck'
thanks, torgone, i go back with renewed hope!
TO take the 1st 3 letters of the last phantom word you mentioned (11.02 post) and add the to the front of the gr5/14 for the in9, 10 is pt.
ah! so easy with those big hints of yours! thanks, torgone!
hello all! still a big grid, but looked a little more manageable so I didn't start at the flip. How is it?
i think there are lots of difficult words, but that's just me
thanks goob, got them!!
tor...what do these mat terms begin with please?
Hi Stidmama
any1 got the 10 letter word i hve
thanks fmitch!!!
in ..
ty.....
yay Steph glad it worked. I think TO missed my post.
torgone I took calculus but it was over 20 years ago. please take pity on me...
hi abe!
gotta take mom to the docs
mitch: i have the one that menas to pu together
see ya'll lata
bye allstar
bye a;;star!
the ten letter word is a past tense of the "put together" nine word...
i'm still working on your clue, mitch...take the letters whe from wheeze?
Krista the 1st word she says is a phantom starts with "in"
krita, no, the "to bury" word
oh, i was literally looking at the LAST phantom word...i'm the blondest brunette you will ever meet
**blushes and cringes** please, no more fish! I am battered and bruised
*passes "I am a BLONDE" T-shirt to Krista* but it's only a loaner -- I know I'll need it back...
krita: i did the same and i already HAD the words!
need to speed babble - list time! but if anyone has a clue for the e that comes from the lower left, - i'd be grateful
thanks, stid, I'll wear it proudly...oh good, TO, you are too kind. i feel better.
TO -- it is not this, but the other, E*****/OR
my phantom word is zither
ty stid!
pabtrek: that is actually there, but in a different medieval spelling... start with a different cons.
poo. work has blocked lickety's page.
et5/18 = e & tw4/8
stid - my head is in the e**** most of the time
(me too Krista)
i meant that for TO
stid: had the word, box still white
oh, Work! (that's a four letter word, and I meant every letter of it!)
TO et5/18 = e & tw4/8
hm. don't know then. maybe it came from the E on the right. Will look some more...
ty mitch that did it! and all for help
can you eat medlars, stid?
thanks Mitch!
thanks stidmama, i had that already, didn't know it was an alternate spelling.
Just noticed that it is an alt sp for the et4/5 - the small needlecase
yes, medlars are edible. I have not managed to get them to the point where they taste good -- like avocados, you have to pick them before they are ready, and blet them for a while. Then eat as soon as they are "perfect"....
just looked up bletting...good word...they look like a tropical fruit
ugh, hi. migraine.
but they are actually from places that get bitterly cold in the winter! I love the tree in my garden... it has flowers much of the year.
oh feather... did you overdo the paint? Sometimes fumes do that to me. *offers empathy and dark sunglasses*
i'm just waiting for daniel to finish eating his lunch, then i'm going to do a few words and crawl into bed
hi feather..sorry to hear that. hope the paint isn't getting to you (have a friend like that)..interesting, stid!
no, the paint's been closed up for several days, unless this is a delayed reaction. i get them based on weather, hormones, or a combination of the two
it must be awful.
yes. it's entirely too bright in here.
Hi all I am in France now and playing again, do you have any clues for the 10o letter word
I wear sunglasses and dim my monitor as far as I can so I can babble with migraines... sad isn't it?
Hello Lucky! the 10 letter word is a past tense of the in 9...
hmmm....that's a thought...
i'm off to take my daughter to an appointment (with printed grid in hand)..have a great afternoon, all.
pour quoi France?
HI Stidma how are you?
later Krista!
Bye Krista
I am well. Have missed seeing you.
Hi stidma my mother lives there
oh! I hope you are there for pleasure, then. what part of France?
yawwnnnnnn ... back to try and get my last 80
Stidma do you know france? It is the middle of France called the Auvergne
hi Atalante! did you have a good nap? (assuming that's what the yawn is for, and not bored of babbling...)
hi all who have recently joined
definitely a nap! very good except the fukids kept trying to act as feet warmers and chest warmers. NOT necessary today!
first two ea's, please?
oh -- I was looking at a map with our elder child yesterday. Yes. I know where that is. I think that's the place with the really great valleys and river?
hello Dorens! is the grandbaby still amazing and sweet?
hi all...about to leave and see her for the first tine today
and maybe find out her name
bring us a picture, Dorens!
that would be nice. So far we have to call her "angel" and "princess" and "darling"... would be nice to have a name to go with the pic the proud grandmama will be carrying around...
Hi all my mom says hi too she sees this game for the very first time
ea - to feel a sense of anticipation AND the second ea is the past tense of the third ea 4/4
bon jour maman d'Lucky!
will do..when i can figure it out..have a few on my cellphone...and son has many beauts on his dig, and when he gets around to it, will do so
Hi to Mom@
Hi Lucky, haven't seen you for ages, et Bonjour a votre Mama.
bonjour maman et beinvenue
goob, not finding the ea of anticipation. eager doesn't work
stid, you're a genius. pulled the drapes, wearing shades! unfortunately, i haven't gotten the drapes in the dining room hung yet, so that's glaring, but it's about 50% better than before
i switched the last letters, Dorens, and I got something
twiddle the last 2 letters dorens
also, er 6/24?
glad I could help feather *sending quiet calm vibes*
thanks, dumb of me
Dorens my mother speaks english!
ata: i wish you people would learn to speak ENGLISH! LOL!
c'est bien, mais je parle en francais et pas souvent
of COURSE she speaks English... but thinking she might also know French -- and as you can tell, I need all the practice I can get! LOL
non ... c'est bien. J'aime bien parler en francais!
(I think that's sorta what Dorens just said...)
er + fence opening [sorry about not mentioning the weird spelling of last clue, dorens!]
no prob..thanks alot...am off to hug and kiss the girlchild
have fun!
****kisses for baby****
i meant british vs. american english/spelling - no offense
later Dorens! :-)
bye sorens
sorry dorens
oh LOL :):)
oh british spelling is easy.... just reverse the last two letters, add a U next to every O and throw in a few old-fashioned words here and there.... *winks at TO and Atalante*
Hey Ata - saw your comments ages ago about the venue for the Oct convention, coincidence or what!!!
LOL stimama
I know!!It'll be fun to go back there - and I always love going to Brick Lane!
Great, so you are going to go. I just thought it was a good idea as you will see so many different aspects and approaches rather than just going to one individual.
ge4/6 and 5/14 clue, please?
I just got those: Japanese footwear, I think.
ge +british shorthand for "thanks"; then plural
yes, I think I will - it does seem like it would be much less intimidating than trawling round tattoo places!
Atalante! have you been getting MORE tattoos? I thought you had already covered the soles of your feet!
ty: i love when you clue with definitions!
yw TO.
oh piffle! I need to take the kiddo to music camp. Back later all. Lucky have fun in Auvergne... ciao!
If I do start making money from tattoo design, I think I'll be the only tat artist without any of my own - I just design other people's stidmama :P
bye stid!
(of course Atalante... :-) anyone who would wear a wedding dress like yours has decidedly good taste!) *fades out*
*giggles*
yay! I have good taste! *goes round looking pleased*
cya stid

i assume it is babble-given and not parent-derived?
I want to make 'ghee'
mmmm...indian food...
of course, goob. my real name is quite a mouthful, and looks like my parents just took a bunch of scrabble/babble tiles and put them together.
my first name has 8 letters, 5 of which are vowels
lol..sarah..better than what a family i know did... their surname is booker....and they named their son......sam...what were they thinking??!!
what were they drinking?!
are you irish?
bet you kicked butt as a kid, then, when making anagrams out of your name!
lmao
I am indeed, Atalante. How could you tell?

Caitriona

Goob, are you working in the office?

Miller, the catterpillar commands Alice to do this.
*caterpiller? I dunno.
tw 5/18 tw + frozen water
or when you speed or something, you get a ***ation from the police. I think that's right in the US ...
hi ARB
sorry, i was away for a sec...
Hi goob
sorry... i keep hitting enter by mistake - it reminds me of public school when you had to go to the front of the class and say your poem/ speech/ etc from memory
arb, you gave a clue for tw5/20. what's the last tw5/18?
Ignore my last tw clue --
I am reading Harrry Potter babbling and talking on the phone all at once now that is multi tasking
tw 5/18 tw + comparative suffix
thanks arb!
sorry I just wanted to say that!
ei7?
i am working in my office - at home, so it's not that the family hasn't already had clues about the freakish thing, but babble has revealed it fully!
what do you work as, goob? now I'm being nosey :)
I have to leave to go pack for a camping trip bye!
does anyone else get the note about ' a script on this page causing things to run slowly'... it doesn't happen all the time, but it is causing problems for me
are you using firefox?
i screen resumes for large corporations so that they only have to look at the top candidates; i was a high school teacher, but we decided to homeschool, so this job allows me flexible hours
ata, i'm a computer goob... how would i know?
what browser are you using - is it internet explorer (blue e as a logo) or firefox (little red curled up fox as logo) (or otehr)?
i go in thru netscape, but i see the little 'get firefox' ad in the bottom corner... would using firefox eliminate this problem?
te5/14, and the the 4/5 after it? my last two t's
no - its usually a firefox problem, that's why I was asking ... I know how to fix the thing in firefox as well! You might want to email Dr_G and ask for the fix in netscape
ei 7/36 ei 4/5 + facial twitch
thanx; sorry for the boring computer talk, folks, but i need to take great advice when i get it.
thanks again arb!
we're all quite good at computer advice here!
te 4/5 is the last letter of the Hebrew alphabet
Hi there everyone - escaping for a little babble in the midst of a crazy day.
And is the first part of the word after it
thanks arb, do you have the te5/14?
te 5/14 : The upper or dorsal surface, especially of a body segment of an insect or other arthropod.
is it a sign of intelligence or something much more dire when every single day i have one word left, but have no idea where i missed it?
goob, it is a sign that you need to go pro!
It's all found in the upper right hand corner of the grid without the plural letter
thanks arb
methinks you might be right; one romantic eveing with the hubby should free up the funds for this new endeavour!
just kidding...
it'll take 2 romantic nights
lol goob
nice to see someone with proper morals :)
goob - set your sights higher!
that's funny goob :)
We Babble addicts go to great lengths to play, protect, defend, and enlarge this addiction
you make me chuckle, folks
at least go for a subscription for babble *and* sudoku ;)
i googled the hebrew alphabet and still can't find the te4/5!
Stephie, take the first 4 letters of the following word
is that the te6/21 (that i don't have either!)?
Actually it's not the last letter but the 9th letter. They are pronounced the same, so I got the order mixed
te 6/21 -- to tie a horse up with a chain or rope, so it can move only a little bit.
help with di7 and di8
okay, got them, arb!
te 4/5 is the 9th letter of the Hebrew alphabet. Just got it.
I'm back. Did I miss anything?
*yawn*
di 7/36 and di 8/50 are lik di 6/24 and di 7/36 with an extra vowel in the third place
any help with the last wi 6/33?
wi 6/33 -- a leaf will dry up and wi---- away
ARB - another one after that
fiz, do you mean we6/33?
Kind of like wi**** thoust go, I shall follow. Or summut.
or the plural?
Thanks, Stephie - yes. Duh.
sorry, but i don't have the last one. i have the one meaning soaked with water.
fiz and steph, it's just like the wi, but with an e.
wassup and stephie - there's another one - after the castrated ram...
grey
SORRY!
the castrated ram??! poor boy!
oh, haven't got the list out yet. perhaps it's time? :)
thanks, i was trying to put an a in there with it!
so thats what that w word meant, i just type em
Back-sorry you guys couldn't make it for lunch. the new green beans, potatoes and bacon were wonderful, but the pecan pie a la mode was spectacular. Maybe next time!!
Were we invited?
bummer, i missed the invite too. Would have driven to Kansas...
Around 10, when I put things to cooking, I invited everyone who was on at that time. You would certainly have been welcome.
sounds wonderful, rumple!
we just ate mexican food leftovers for breakfast.
My Israeli granddaughter was on a family camping trip in Kansas and went to DorothyLand. Their Dorothy was fat and blond and the 4-year-old burst into tears and said "That's not Dorothy".
i'm eating m & m's. i gave in
ARB, i am not getting your te5/14 clue... i tried to grab a segmented insect and beat the answer out of it, but it was too darned fast for me... kinda like your clue
i want some reese's pieces. that would complete me.
Oh ARB, that
Abe, you're supposed to share.
that's hilarious arb
**scattering m & m's on chat log**. they are peanut, enjoy!
sorry, Arb, hit the wrong button, that's too bad, they should at least have someone who resembles Dorothy.
mmm, thanks abe
yum - lovely!
toda -- Hebrew for thank you
yw. i would enjoy them even more if they were scattered over a cup of ice cream...
Maybe tomorrow. Think we are having charcoaled Highland filets, baked potatoes with butter and sour cream, tossed salad and banana cream pie.
Hi rumple - I was looking at your website earlier and I love the pics of you and hubby on you "bikes", you look great, lifestyle is keeping you young! Love the menagerie too.
My daughter had a tough time explaining that to the little one -- I guess it's like kids who believe in Santa and then see several at once
i'm getting in the care right now rumple.
*car
you are cooking that yourself rumple?
i feel so inadequate. we're having sandwiches for dinner tonight.
Thanks FMitch, have several additions since then. We both have new Harleys and I have a Scottish Deerhound imported from England, near Derbyshire. And yes, I am the cook in this household and have been for 55 years.
gotta actually go do some work in this office... it's been fun!
Scottish Deerhound! I *love* those dogs
bye goob
hey everyone - how bad is it today?
Goob, te 5/14 is found in the upper right hand corner of the grid, without the plural letter -- maybe that'll help you
bye goob, and thanks for the help!
well rumple, i am an excellent dish washer/ table setter (wink, wink)...the banana cream pie sounds lovely
*jostles with abe* I can feed the animals and muck them out, got any horses?
oof
thank you... i had tunnel vision about what the 3rd letter had to be, so was not getting it!
No, I want Alpacas though
Hurshy, where are you?
paris
hey Hurshy
i still don't see the te5/14
No horses on the farm, *sighs deeply*
okay, i'm really going now... stephie, the te starts at the top, too, if that helps
okay, got it!
stephie - take another word that is in the grid meaning to concur and reverse it and then put in a t instead of the first letter
rumple will you make the banana cream pie your icon tomorrow, so we can daydream about it?
aw man and that was such a complicated clue
Stephie -- look at the top two rows of the grid, right corner, 3 columns wide -- te 5/14 -- and don't use the plural letter
My daughter who lives 3 miles away has 3 quarterhorses, 5 Irish Wolfhounds, 3 pot bellied pigs, numerous cats and 6 teacup chihuahuas. she has enough for both of us.
found the r4/9 yet hurshy? :)
yes
doesn't the d4/10 bring back memories...
Oh wow rumple, she sure does.
I'm still not seeing the te5/14
matty, it ends in the abbreviation for georgia, u.s.
Never mind - got it guys - thanks!
hey - help with the ae 7/32?
i might have known the other 9 would be re
ooh but i have got it
shade, plural the ae6
ae 7/32 is an alternate spelling for et 6/21
ce6/21? Am I just being blind?
ah. didn't see that, was looking at the ae from a different angle
ce + another spelling for the opposite of wrong
ce 6/21 ce + alternate spelling for not wrong
Yep, that's it, arb. Thanks!
id6/21?
if someone id6/21's about suicide that is a sign they might actually do it
id 6/21 make a verb out of the id 4/5
thanks y'all!
man there are a lot of t's
A ton of t's. Terrible ..
hi all! trying to finish last 57 words.
and torgone with a t!

Cool, matty! Let's have a drink sometime..
hi everyone!
sorry sorry sorry
its more th4/9
th7 is more of th4/9.
I think you might be a wee bit far away...what part of the States are you in...
hmm how did i not notice there was a th 4/9
Hi Annie
hey annie!
Matty -- it was even more recent -- with incompetent police giving the third de--- .
th4/9 is a well developed sinew or muscle
I thought it was a lisping seamstress.
San Diego, but if you're ever in the neighborhood, stop by ..
ha ha arb!
Betthy Roth?
OK. Tis about as far away (barring Alaska) you can get from me in the States....
my parents just got back from san diego.
You forgot Hawaii
aaaaaaaaaack
Hurshy, are the French torturing you?
so hurshy, what are you doing in paris?
no, a stupid te4/5 is torturing me

2 smelly gasses, shade
Farts?
whoops, thats the pl; it is also a sing.
*hurshy is covered in shame*
i'm looking for that te4/6 also, it's hiding
haha, matty!
Te 4/6 -- look from the t in the 2nd row from the bottom
it won't be hiding if you take the 2nd vowel out of your incisors
thanks!
found it hurshy, it's plural for a 2-year old lamb
laptop running out of batts. see you all later
or 2-year old sheep i guess.
bye wassup

de6/21?
he5/20: a person who chops down trees
thanks swmbo, nice to see you!
yes, it is a quick peek in, I am at work, so it is a work lurk...
Hi swmbo and all
de6/21 I do not have, but I have de 6/27
I'm only here briefly -- busy day and out in the evening so can't continue. However, curious about those ae's -- any clues?
i've got de6/27 also
I don't have de621 or de6/27 clues please.
Hi Everyone!
hey peri
Hi peri
de6-27 is what you earn in college
de6 - when you graduate you get a de****
de 6/27 is something you earn at university
can anyone please give me a clue for the re 9/54
thx for the de6/27 -- anyone have the three ae's?
If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times...ruthy!
what about the de6/21. don't have the ae's yet jilli
re + it7/28
hi everyone !
re9 = to state again.
Hi helen
Oooh - I liked my clue :D
that was clever, matty
me too matty - thanks
hi peri !
the 3 ae's are related - British spelling of the colorless gas and pl and adj.
hiya ls1! how've ya been, haven't seen you in a while!
ae words are a + a gas
AE 6.21 ... an a before ET 5.12 - good morning
OK, not THAT clever, but it amused me :D
hi helen - been out of town. babbled a bit but didn't chat
thanks Charm
ty stephie and charm
vacation?
gr627?
yes - we have a family reunion every 7/4 at my brother in-law's "estate" near cape cod
gr6/27 = gr** student (long hair and lots of beer is the way I remember it) + opp of out.
thanks charm!
that's very cool, hope you had a terrific time! i've never been there, but i have been to cape ann & loved it!
on to the dreaded re's. sigh
going to cook, bbl
it was great - i've got some really wonderful nieces and nephews!
Ooh - my favourite word is there!
I'm back...gl all!
nice! i left 60 from last nite - but first must say good-bye to alan & change my icon :(
bye annie :)
I live on Cape Cod but not in an "estate"
Charm, can't figure out your gr6/27 clue
thanks for the ae clues! Now I can leave in peace, but I hate to - this is a fun one
hi jili!
hi and bye, helen *sob*
peri - someone who's finished 4 years of college and go onto further education are call gr** students + opp of out.
...are callED gr4/7 students....
re 6/21 after the re8/45 and before re4/5??
Charm, I got it, never heard of the word, what else is new?
peri - I'm always learning something new here. lol
ag5anyone
Steph = re + today's **** is 7/6
thanks again charm!
ag5 = I always ag*** with my husband and *never* argue with him. yeah. right.
thanks Charm was looking in the wrong direction,
the re6 and 7 and 6 before the re9?
I think, peri, that that is a common distraction in today's grid. Not to mention I keep forgetting to past tense everything!
to "listen" again and its plural
evening everyone, seems a nice gird to play with tonight :-)
I tend to look more on the right side of the grid
hi katie
we look on the right and down but forget going left or up or even backward.
need help with ce words please
re6 before the re9 is re + warm up leftovers.
ce4/5 = c + fr. for summer.
ce6 = ce + **** of passage/spring.
Charm, just found that one right before I saw your clue, do you have the ce6 too
Thanks Charm, was busy looking for the ce6 but got it from you clue.
yw
re6 and 7 combo toward the end?
sa 5/10?
found it.
sa5/10: not happy + not her
re6/7 - to rip up again and its plural
thanks, Stephe.
and thanks Unea! how are you?
une, that's the sa5/14. i've got that one. still missing the other se5.
oh, sorry!
I'm good, thanks, Charm!
No se's today Stephie.
i found it, never mind!
de6/21 and de5/12 right after it
de5/12 - does punishment de*** crime?
am I allowed to ask for the last letter on ae 7.32 ?
de6/21 = de + r4/4 (interest r*** is going up)
lynxxx = c.
sorry lynxxx = ae7 is pl of the ae6.
TY Charm
Charm, got the de6, still working on the de5
what about the de 5/12 above the de 6/21??
de5 = to prevent or discourage.
Same as de5/12, just drop the last letter Steph, hi everyone!
i think that one is after the de6, and i have that one (i think!).
Anyone got the 10 letter word?
i meant, samre as the 6/21 :)
Charm, I have that one, need the 2nd de5/12 please
got it, thanks cat!
nevermind, found it
sorry peri.
you
you're welcome Steph
bbl
hi again!
hey cat !!! TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT - i'm sooooo excited!!!!
the 10 letter word is an re word that means to repeat again and again. it is re + it 7/28
Is the ae8,50 like the other ae's?
It sure is helen! I am excited too, had aol send me a reminder that it's on!
yes, rumple
oh yes, its your new BB isnt it!
tonight's the night for what!
right ata !!!
do you get it over there?
yes it is Ata!
your series? I think we do, on some random satellite channel in the middle of the night
Now I just have to sign up for the Real Player pass so I get live feeds. I'm not addicted am I :)
I'm probably being blind - this should be EASY - there are only a limited number of options - but et5/18?
LOL ata
Finally got my FIREWORKS, there is a 10-20 second delay before they go off!!! Thanks for all the help.
yay inge!!!
congrats, inge!
I LOATHE big brother - but then, my tastes aren't to everyones lol
WTG INGE !!!!!
needle case Matty
congrats inge
but we're a bit busy with our own series at the moment ;)
Got the needle case (my favourite word) it's the five I'm after 5/18
oops, wrong one, lemme look
Matty = et6 = e + tw4/6.
et5 - e + tw4/8
et plus a *** one, tiny
et plus a *** one, tiny
Thanks Steph but I have that as the 9 letter word.
matty - i never expected to get as hooked/involved as i am - i've come to realize that it's my version of watching horror movies (which are way too frightening for me!)
ok. my fingers have entered the silly. putting my head down and concentrating on the last dozen.
So it IS the needlecase - just phonetic. My mum was sooooo disappointed to discover that it wasn't pronounced exactly as it's spelt!
betty, make it past tense!
sorry, but i was so wrong! the 10 letter is an in word. think of the civil rights movement when the schools had to in******* and the past tense for the 10
be back, doggie needs a walk :)
*waves to lovely Tiki*
-
That's it. Thanks Steph.
integrate
Sorry. First time I've done that.
that would be it, betty.
51 to go & going for the list - was stuck with 13 at the flip last night, getting a head start today :)
Go Mattygroves, I like CSI's and Criminal Minds, Ghost Whiperer and Close to Home
Betty Anne, did you get the 10 letter one?
never mind, just saw taht you did
I like Battlestar Galactica, Stargate (both Atlantis and SG1), Firefly, Buffy, Angel...
I'm strange.
I'm also stupid today.
Sure did and gave it to everyone else or at least part of it.
rumple - is that a fruit pie you have there?
hey helen!
why dont those things happen in the morning when I begin this grid???
hi inge!
I know what you mean.
hi matty and bettyanne also!
Hi Fran!
Hi Fran!
Hi Frank, i keep meeting you at all hours. I suppose you are off and on like me, and I dont check back in everytime. Now I am done and enjoying the definitions
hey fran - lol, when i looked up fruit, i saw that dragon fruit & thought about using it cause i've never, ever seen that before!!! -but then i went with something more familiar :)
thats me donr
sorry *FRAN*
good job inge! i am on and off, probably more off though! :-)
congrats, hannah lou!
yay hannah lou!!!
yay hanna
wtg hannah lou
**FIREWORKS**for Hannah Lou
hey helen, i've actually seen these growing in Vietnam and since they're the strangest fruit i've ever seen i picked them.
what do they taste like fran? the site i saw them on was thai & the guy had a cross-section like you have & then one with a bite out of it, but he never said what it tastes like
rumple - i asked you earlier if your icon was a fruit pie, is it?
they're a cactus fruit, haven't tasted them, but the flavor is suppose to be pretty mild.
fran - it looked really creamy to me, i don't see jewel or dominicks carrying something like that here for a long time
we get them in our markets sometimes. my husband wouldn't let me buy one though! :-(
ok. done. any last attempts at clues (if the fingers cooperate) before I go?
why ever not fran - are they expensive?
i think they have a crunchier texture actually helen.
yes charm - how about the di 7/36 & do 8/50
ye4/10??
stephie, add an ovate food
OK, I'm sooo stupid today - it must be getting late. How about the ge6/24 and the probably related 5/14?
what??
okay fran, i got it!
stephie, the incredible, edible e**
ye4/10 = y + chicken's ovalish output.
Helen K. there is no do
ye** - i meant di for both
helen, di7/36 is what we do to lose weight + that woman and then plural
di7 = weightloss eating program + opp of him. di8 is pl.
thx charm :)
thx fran :)
ge words - the last three ge words?
yw helen!
ge6/24 - a motivated person is a go-ge****.
Gawd, I'm tired...
ge6 - someone could be a go ge**** when they want something
ge4/6 = ge + 1st vowel. ge5/14 is pl.
ge4 - ge + shortened word by bye and plural for ge5
I should give up now...and bury my head in the sand.
what Stephie said.
Thanks guys.
yw
first re5/14 anyone?
fran re- label
oh, thanks helen!!
np
helen, who did you have in your profile before the fruit? i haven't refreshed lately!
it was alan rickman as colonel brandon from sense & sensibility - would you like me to put him back up :)
I have the di8/50. What do the other 8s start with please.
lol, nope, just couldn't see him bigger anymore, and was wondering!
hey feather!
the 10/91 is integrated
bye all.
refreshed, bye ye alan
bye charm!!
the bigger he is, the better he looks (to me)
lol feather! how many do you have left?
84
you?
could someone help with de 5/16 please?
great!!!! a head start for once - 43 - the race is on!!
cousinMo, we don't actually type words from the grid into the chat, we just use clues.
lol! i'd take you up on it, but daniel's rustling around in a bag, need to go rescue whatever he's getting into
de 5/16 is de + what you put in your car to make it go
ohhhhh...duh! thank you
jeez! i was just trying to help
lol feather - probably getting the paintbrushes ready!
there we go. he actually found some of his new parts for mr. potato head
lol cousin mo - that was indeed very helpful!
hey cousin mo - i see you are in palatine - i live in chicago, i used to work in palatine in the regency plaza at euclid & quentin!
thats me finished
yay sha!!!
WTG SHA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ni6/27 anyone?
anyone got a lue for the ni6 please?
congrats sha!
sorry fran - not me
haha, good timing fran. WD sha

I need help on the last ye4,6 I have all of the other ye's

how about ci 7,36 and ce 4,5
ci7/36, plural of ci6/24 ci + not here, but ****e
ci7/36 rhymes with wi6/33 that means to shrivel
Hi gang
hi lady
Hi Feather
ce4/5 rhymes with consume food
hi lady!
Hey Fran
thanks got them both
hi lady
UT 5.12 - not the said word - thanks
hi Helen
lynxxx, plural of womb
i'm now being dressed up like mr. potato head.
thanks again fran
I can't find any words off the T at center bottom..it says ther is 3 words
feather, i'm sure you look cute with the little bowler on!!
LOL feather - your kid is just great!
the pitfalls of babbling onthe couch!
ni6/27 anyone?
blonde, like what you bite with minus one E
hehe, the glasses tend to hurt though when he tries to do them, he pokes my eyes out more often than not!
matty, rhymes with a little person.
t + variant for not left, but r***oops, thatss the bottom T, sorry
oh thats what you wanted LOL Never mind :)
Crikey - what the heck does THAT mean?!
i always worry when my son tries to wear them also feather! how cute though.
matty, a dwarf human is a mi****, change the M to an N
lol that bullseye store IS in the grid & here i thought it was a phantom!
i'm having trouble wiht the te 5/14 right before the te 4/5 that was just clued
actually cat, i'm just guessing that that's the one blonde is missing.
phantom words: wiggy & zither
hi all! a clue perhaps for the 10?
feather, like te word for earth, te*** firma, switch out an R for another consonant
hi boreetos!
hiya boreetos !!
it's past tense of the in9 that means to bring together.
fran you read my mind on others i was missing! i didn't have those yet, but was actually asking for the te 5/14! lol, have that one?
that clue is for the te5/14 feather.
hmm i dont have that nine yet, another approach?
try another consonant with higher points.
huh. well, from that clue, i got a 5/10! lol
the in9 means bring together boreetos, like what schools had to do in the late 60s
the civil rights law meant that all schools had to be in********
lol, there we go!
lol. i know feather, didn't realize there were two until you said that!
thanks une!
yw!
any hints for the ae7 word?
what's sad about that is that I'd had the gr5, and I had tried the first five letters of the in10 as it's own word. Oy.
ok, i'm out, see you all later.
lady, it's plural of the ae6/21 that is an alternate spelling of et5/12.
most frustrating phantom: theatre/theater
oh duh
hi melon!
he6/27 anyone?
hiya - just in for a bit - my son is performing at a downtown art festival - must grab the camcorder - & hop the rapid transit.
he 6/27 - more robust
Any clue for the re9,54 - last word
fran, add the sometimes vowel to the previous word
hiya melon!! what's he do?
hi helen
oy vey. meant to say hi melon.
feather meant 'melon' lol
thanks une! why didn't i see that?
hahahaha - see i knew that!!!!
lol! good thing you understand me! i'm dealing with aftereffects of a migraine, i plead that as my excuse
h'e entering 9th grade - is doing an intensive modern dance program. he'
hey helen, missed your clue, but thanks also!
(feather said 'helen' because she has 'beat helen' 'beat helen' running through her head right now!!!)
nice try with that migraine excuse - i'm not buying it, lol
lol! not really, running on slow speed right now. can't think well enough to go full out.
very cool melon!!
{woops} he's a kid who has blossomed after being a late talker/walker - i'm in art & music & i'm convinced enriching his life with art, music - & horses, has helped him surpass early expectations. oh - & he's a handsome devil - & sweet.
uh-huh, yep, get your excuses in often & early cause i'm gonna git you this time, bwa-ha-ha!
lol helen!
goo helen!!!
melon sounds like you are a proud mama (& ought to be!)
goo feather!!
that's awesome melon!
if you go to inletdance dot org & click on gallery, there's a picture of him from last year - he's being held by two bigger guys.
thanks - everyone. even my worker comp doctor says it's been a blessing that i could be a fulltime mom to him the last few years. i also have a very independent daughterin her 20s - on her own but calls everyday - i call them "my mild one & my wild one."
he5/18 anyone?
cool - i will check him out
first ut5/12?
now i'm off - actually going to take my zillion year old Nikon - still my favorite way to take pix. later!
he 5/18 - a shrub in your garden that may separate it from your neighbors
feather, plural womb
you go melon - who needs those new fan-dangled cameras - people who don't know how to take pictures, that's what i say - i use an old canon a-1 myself
thanks helen, i thought i put that in already!!
ahh, ty
i love my canon rebel! SLR, but digital...best of both worlds
25
that was dumb, i was looking at the letters for that he word thinking i had it already without typing them in!!
25 for me too!
what's digital?
re9,54 anyone??? Help pleeze, last word!!!
LOL
heh, 49, and need to go get dinner
that's my dream camera feather!
i luuuuuuurve it!!!
i'll keep racing with you helen!
ok fran :)
actually, the rebel xt, the newest version
i know, my friend has one, it's an awesome camera!
oh crud! i forgot about putting the noodles in the crock pot!
I just love my medium format Mamiya. I could kiss it
brb
can we still give each other hints helen?
but fran, maybe you can also keep chatting with feather - she has a way of coming from behind - from way, way behind - can never count her out - she's awfully competitive
re9,54 anyone??? Help pleeze, last word!!!
lol ata - art brings out the love!
re9/54 is to say again and again, sorry rumple! didn't mean to ignore you!
I have a little digital camera I use everyday, but there's nothing like having a day out taking pics with my Mamiya!
i don't know about that fran - i will have to check the racing rules, but it just doesn't sound right, lol
FranMaq, OK, but all I can come up with is 8 letters
does that mean i ignore your requests for clues?? i just can't do that!
ok, there will be a 30 minute delay on dinner folks! lol, stupid noodles.
put re in front of your it7/28 rumple.
right ata - although for everyday kinda stuff, i have one of those 'cameras for stupid people' just point & click - i am too hard on them to invest alot of cash
restraint fran, restraint, others will answer, lol
21
anyone get the ae8/50 yet?
Thank you, thank you. That did it!! Done for today. *****FIREWORKS*********8
TH6/24?
yay rumple!!!!!!
see what did i tell you about that competitiveness - she just can't help herself - will let her family starve instead , LOL
20
yay rumple!
lady, it's the adjective version of the 6
lol helen!!!
lol helen!
huh?
no, actually i'm doing one of those frozen crock pot meals, and you have to put the noodles in a half hour before you're ready to eat. forgot all about them!
help?
ah, got it!
i have never yet used a crock pot, been meaning to, i acquired 2 as gifts over the last year - just can't get around to changing my ways - but i hear they're real time savers!
help please?
oh, it's wonderful, especially the frozen crockpot meals. don't have to do anything other than put the stuff in, really.
the good thing about crockpots is that you can make dinner when you feel like it and let it bubble away rather than being confined to making stuff at mealtimes
hello?
sorry matty - i don't have that one
you can throw in a roast and seasoning and done, crockpots are great
matty, take your first 4 letters of the th5/12 and add middle letters of not healthy
th6,24 is just like the 6,21 above it. Take off the last 2 letters and add 3rd vowel and 3rd letter
sorry matty, i have it, hang on
i'm trying to find that one too, Matty!
th 6/24, like if you went out into the woods, and one of those bugs that carries lyme disease bit you, you'd say "i got bit by th* ***!"
or you could go with rumple's much much simpler explanation! i make things too complicated!
Did you get it Matty?
ae 6/21?
Poificit! Thanks.
feather, that is hysterical! LOL!!!!
(as it happens, I used feather's clue) Cheers!
heh, thanks!
oh, i used it too!!
thanks for the arachnid clue, feather! how's the migraine?
ae + last 4 letters of Mo**** love
i had a whole story going last night for the ea words for someone...got 8 or so words into the story
hi all -- back and sitting for a while before I try to do yardwork.
Hi Stid, all done, need any clues before I sign off?
rumple, teh only thing i'm coming up with is muskrat love, and that's not even the right first two letters!
hiya stid - medlar - another new one for me!
Not your Father but your Mo****
it's better...headache is tamped down by tylenol, but i have the weird aftereffects...can't think straight

The only thing that shakes my headaches is Vanquish.

hi bambam!
sorry, ei7/36
beginning of the duck (drop r) and add lime disease insect
it was wonderful! however, i burnt my tongue...owie! i felt much better after a full belly too. always helps the head. i'm doing really well now, but i think i'm going to take some tylenol before bed to make sure, as mine usually last 2 days.
ei + finer **tails + facial twitch
yes, good idea to keep the pain away -- always seems harder to chase it away than to keep it gone.
2nd we4/8 pls?
how do those beldar taste stid? Never seen one before.
medlar? I don
I don't know yet, muse!
i'm off to do some work, have fun ladies!
yes, it does. i've learned too not to trust it being gone the first night! nothing worse than waking up with a migraine, unless it's waking up with a migraine that you THOUGHT was gone.
thanks bambam, great clue
I have never figured out when the bletting is done enough -- always get to them too hard or way too soft!
bye bambam!
later bambam!
w+ sw*** tooth
bletting?
I was thinking that too feather
yay, an even 20 left!
hi, all
hi pam!
2nd wi5/20?
hi pam :)
yay feather go go go!
sorry about your head, feather, I am on a 3 day cycle
go feather go! I have 64. hi pam, hi cathy...
add a vowel to the preposition
*waiting for wi 5/20 clues*
oh, that sucks. you have one now?
yep
just gave it
stid, add a vowel to your 4/9
got it!
and the other 5/20?
hi stid
I get them in clusters, barometric pressure is often the cause
past tense of color
oops! add a consonant to your 4/8! past tense
but sometimes, they just happen....
I have heard of cluster headaches... cluster migraines would be a mamadog!
yep, me too. weather and hormones are my triggers
thanks feather!
those 2 are my bigiies, but sinus issues are there, too...mamadog indeed!!!!!
it's a lot colder out tonight than the past few nights. i haven't been watching the weather, but maybe there's a front moving through. we're close enough to each other to be affected by the same weather!
hi stid and others..I was telling my sister about your medlars tonight - she's a botanist in FL (visiting here for 2 weeks) she was fascinated!
so stid what does bletting mean?
I haven't completely figured out my triggers -- I know allergies account for some of them; assume hormones are the rest because they went away for years while I nursed the boys and only started up again when we stopped.
have one to go and was hoping to make it without a clue, but I give up :} does anyone have a clue for the ni 6/27?
bletting is what you do with avocados -- harvest them hard, and let them finish ripening off the tree. In fact, these things apparently never ripen on the tree (also like avocados)!
i got tons when pg, then they eased off again for a while. i'm bad, have never gotten my butt in to the dr. for a prescription.
great job igorms, it rhymes with very small person
ni6/27 = rhymes with a very small person
ahhh, ok!
2nd wi5/20...can't seem to get the clues for it
me either, but a friend who's a doc recommended Aleve as soon as I get the aura, and that usually works to keep them small.
ty, ty
add a silent vowel to the end of the preposition cathy
think of the color that's not black, take away the H, now make it past tense
congrats igorms!!!
YAY igorms!
ty, big one today
i have the presciption and I also take some OTC meds
i have that one...according to lickety's page, it's the 2nd one i need
i don't always get an aura. in fact, it's only in the past year that i realized that when things looked like there was a gray haze over everything, that it was me, and not the lighting!
it's very very brief, so sometimes i notice it and sometimes i don't
oh I really want "twit" to be a word
wow, listening to you folks, guess I'm lucky I don't get those, only had migraines twice. When I was pregnant, thought it was because I quit the caffeine
ok, enough migraine talk! i'm still sitting here with 20 left, and if i ever want to get to bed, i need to get a move on!
did u see my post below, stid?
i occasionally get an aural, not visual, aura
yeah, muse, I've had one migraine, and it was enough
really pam? what's that like?
OK--we must be boring anyway, LOL
very lucky muse
sorry Krista, I hadn't! that is so cool that your sis is a botanist! even cooler that she's visiting!
Like I am in an aquarium o

re 9 - add re + it 7/28

if you have the 5/12, it builds off that...
it might grow in florida... I don't know. I can grow figs here, and probably pomegranates (my next big gamble) so maybe.
add last 2 letters of lime disease insect to the et5/12 before it
et 7/36 - add 2 letters to one above, think frozen water minus the last vowel
start with the E on the right side, move left and down knitter
