Yes faerie, I typically do the hand quilting myself. However, I have a very good friend who is an amazing artist and does beautiful machine quilting. If I have something that we are going to have out all the time or that i want done quickly, I pay her to do it.

That is cool Faerie. When I first started quilting, I was a handquilting snob. But I soon came to realize that if I wanted the majority of my projects finished I was going to have to have some of them machine quilted.
She is amazing. She did one for me for my grandma at Christmas that I actually had a really hard time giving away.

Lori and I made the exact same quilt. Sent both of them to her to be quilted. When we got them back they looked completely different.
No kidding that is fantastic.
I came to the realization that, had our fore mothers had the chance to get them done in a few hours instead of days, they would have done it.

"No," said the mother hesitantly. "I think I should go to the Inn. Boys, see that the donkey is fed and watered and has a nice spot to rest in the stable. I will put the tea on before I leave, but you will need to help your sister when it's ready. Don't wait for me."

Standing up, she set the vase of flowers absently in the middle of the mantle and put on her sun hat. She stopped by the cart and inspected its contents, then walked resolutely toward the edge of town.
Meantime, the three sisters who went to school were on their way home. They laughed and chattered about the classes and their friends, complained about the homework they would need to do, and stopped several times to visit with ladies and relatives who were in their front yards. They too noticed the cart as they arrived home, and wondered how it had arrived, since the donkey was already resting comfortably in the cool stable.
Oh, snap. I need to leave shortly.

Walking in just as the kettle whistled, they went straight to the kitchen and bustled about, looking much like their mother as they set the tea to steeping and the dishes out. Their youngest sister listened intently to all they had to say, soaking up every scrap of news and tidbet of gossip.

As their sister carefully explained the day's events to them, the brothers came in and sat down. Two extra places were hastily set and extra tea made -- just in case.

The siblings started to pour the tea, and the cat walked through the kitchen, looking in the corners for anything interesting that might have wandered in by accident.

I think it's a bit of both in my case. I believe that is how I grew up so well. If a person isn't naturally responsible, they won't be able to handle what is thrust upon them. I feel I am a better person for what I have experienced.

Hee! I met my Dh through my sister. She was having a bunch of her Veterans club friends over for tacos and tequila; my other sis ran into her and BEGGED to let us come over and eat and that we'd leave right away afterwards
Well, I figured it would be temporary.... but temporay is now nearly 16 years of daily interactions. And we have our good times and our bad times, but we manage to stay friends.

ok, so high school sweethearts, i went to college, he went to the army. i was in plattsburgh, ny, he was in first georgia for basic, then california for a year. then he got sent to fran's neck of the woods, schofield barracks, hawaii. we did the long distance thing, he'd come see me on his leave times. we understood that we could go on dates with other people, and had no problem with that, but were still "together."

just my guess Fran, companies like to sell miniature versions of candy that dissolve fast so you can buy more
it did last a long time
that candy bar would last... article reminded me of that when it said would last through a double feature film and in those days each one was probably over 2 hours long
I remember buying it at lunchtime and still having it for another day or two
I remember sharing it with 3 or 4 friends all afternoon
