Hi Blaze
my grand daughter is begging us for a pom....
tr 6/24
thanks nan
ch 6/24
blaze - they are great with kids - very loving, eager to please, loyal, they can be a wee bit difficult to train --- little kids carry poor ginger around like a sack of potatoes for hours on end & she's totally fine with it - very patient, lol
your icon looks it today, ch :)
they wont take "thar" she blows
ch6/27
saw "Scoop" tonite - it was cute - Woody Allen revives his nebbish persona & Scarlett Johanssen plays a Judy Holliday type. More chuckles than laughs.
Well, she was a beautiful princess bride :)
Hi everyone,just making a quick stop.could'nt sleep.
Hey Kahlua!

sorry Erda -- I had posted before your comment -- just didn't appear -- sometimes messages cross.
i do too..i was just watching my dvd of local hero yeaterday..he did the music for that too..and i heard a song the other day from wag the dog that he wrote that i had never heard before
he's wonderful - making movies is one of my favorite albums

hays
sorry
sounds like a good night for music... are you going to see heart? or have they played already?
morning all, a much smaller grid today
hi seano
no they are sold out, and that is a pro stage, all union personnel, because it is so heavily riggrd.
oh, sorry to hear that. I miss being there - it seems that there is a really good lineup of groups this year.
well maybe next year?
maybe. airfares have really increased - i am trying to get there for college homecoming and it is over $400.
great phantom...rhythm
Hey MG...sorry not paying attention
also a phantom - tryst
another phantom - lettuce
yes it is a bad year for travel - drving up every day is no treat but gas is 20 cents cheaper there! go figure!
20 cents? and it is only about 50 miles. unbelievable.
out of all the letters that could give me trouble that c is killing me
ooooooh, i passed halfway!
yay melon
pahtom word: tryst
let me know who you see. a lot of the groups that i have seen are not together anymore.... glad that I picked up CD;s when they were.
my favorite not there word is still not there. No tsetse again
i know what you mean...did you see the troubs?
as 6/21
my 6s: ch, cu, tr x2... what am i missing?
oh why thank you ch :)
phantom: thrust
oh, yes....... had a great time that night. did you ever see devonsquare or free hot lunch?
you're welcome, LeslieAnn :)
MG...how is life just the three of you?
yes to devon square; no to lunch. i ahve a troubs cd but they are definitely a see-live group. they were not booked this year
how very as 6/21 of you
oh joey - RED ELVISES!!!
LOL!
oooooooh..... nope, they don't ring a bell. sorry.
lettucy not a word....this sandwich is too lettucy there
ty, Lesle... great clue!
TO I've looked and looked and yes, I'm in the grid--can't believe my eyes-- my grandma (Ruth) is too. Guess this means I'll have to dive in
you should try typing them both in, hetty. i bet you'll get at least one of them.
golly,25 words latter and none of them are good, guess I'll go back to bed! nite
thanks, ch1212 -- that's all of the sixes
i bet you're right leslie!
now we can't even say ya4/8 when someone finishes : /
nan can you tell me what i'm missing for 6s? as, ch, cu, tr x 2

bye all! i may be back if this shower wakes me up!
1 more for me but i'm using the list.
wow helen!!
i bow before the fluffy puppy
Leslie - i was too absorbed in the grid - then i got knocked off.
Good grief - three vowels?
hey..im in the grid
that's ok melon :)
i'm telling you - go to iwin.com & play the tangleword game - once you get the hang of it, you can put in as many words as you can type or mouse - comes in really handy on the large grids when you just want to get alot out of the way - oh & also you can be amazed at the people there who are way, way, way faster than me - i am nowhere near the top scorers :)
Glad you had a good day, I'm jelous
i used to be good at tangleword
hey, my wardrobe's in the grid.
what's the list?
what's the list?
Oak tree behave himself
you played roc - 2 min room?
me too, before they upped the difficulty to a fare-thee-well (Tangleword, that is)
i've played in the 4-letter and 6-letter rooms mostly, 2 min
Ack!!! past my bedtime
Nite MG give my love to uncle
yes - i have run into erda there a bunch of times - erda what do you mean by upped the dif?
another phantom - lethal
oh and ichban boy
Indded he did. Left about 3:30 - took many boxes of books with him! Tonite, D, N, & went to M. Inn for dinner - ok - but wouldn't go angain.
my rating has steadily declined to around 3000
Must get too bed -- early tee time and I don't want too many pu 5/14!
Night Kahlua - talk to you tomorrow.
i have no patience for the 6- i love the 30 sec- but that's just like slot machines - all your points are gone before you know what hit you, if there are good players in the room & that's usually what you find there
didn't have that one thanks nan! good night!
A few months ago, they had a one-week crash. Something went wrong, they never gave us the promised re-design and everybody was sent back to where they were two years earlier. Ratings-wise, that is.
FINISHED
holy shit batman !!!! 3000???? what name do you play under?
hoooray dnizzles!
And it is now next to impossible to get ahead there
LOL hk
taDah dnizzle
right erda - but i don't think they made it any harder
roc must type!!!
rocdragon, formerly known as clubber or xiao_zheng
Oh yes they did....
i used to be up around 3800 back in my prime..
See?
*poor hk has snowballs chance of getting over 2000, now sadly sits at 17something*
that's truly amazing roc - i figure all you over 2400 to be cheat-nose baboons :)
nope, some of us are legit.
lol helen
LOL roc! really that's amazing, i'm completely impressed!
i'm stumped by the ly - but i'm not sure i'm ready for a clue unless it is very clever (no "3rd vowel" or "snakes" - too easy)
now if i could just figure out that last ly word...
do you have the whipping roc?
whipping? i have the KKK one..
yeah, that's the one i have
same thang

Hello all - just having a look before bedtime
Hello Everyone!
HI, there, just got up after trying to fall asleep for two hours. so, of course, I chose Babble.
Hi Maddie
Greetings, munner - how are you today?
Hi jilli...
Hi, jilli. I'm on steroids for three days, part of regular chemotherapy routine. This is my first night so not much sleep. Treatment tomorrow afternoon.
How you doing?
I'm fine - was able to avoid chemo when I had my bout with the Big C but my sister-in-law couldn't so I have an idea what you're going through. She's just fine now. How much longer do you have to put up with it?
fireworks here
WELL DONE chj!!
thanks maddie
if anyone wants any clues, ill stay on for a few minutes
YAY chj!!!! (I typed into the Add Word box, duh)
as6 please?
I just got started so am not ready for clues yet - and there aren't any really big words, I see!
good phantom...rhythm

ch6??
they didnt like shtup, a nice yiddish word
i tried that a long time ago
maddie, virginal
some yiddish flies here
Anymore clues??
one of my favorite movie lines is from my favorite year with peter otoole....scene in the brooklyn apartment...lou jacobi playing uncle morty asks otoole's character, "So Swanny, did ya shtup her?"
c + h5/12 = ch6/24
Short form of Charles, plus a cup of *** without the final vowel
sorry ch6 is ch 5/16 + a sometimes vowel
lol chj,
one of my favorite lines is madeline kahn in history of the world part one
he then says "What....whaaat.....what'd i say...i'm not from minskapinsk."
onyx, feet off the stage??
what was the line onyx?
can i type that in here, it might offend
use **** to bleep well get the gist

Not too bad, flask - and hi
Done and fireworks Compared to the last few grids this is a fun one.
YAY FMitch!!!
wahoo fmitch!!

ty F Mith
Am I too tired to type? Sorry, F Mitch
Don't worry Munner I anser to most things
3 am here. I am goint to try again to get a few hours sleep before an early appointment. Will be back late afternoon. Enjoy the day.
le5 I thought should be 2 words but babble says no le4/4 - last letter + op of down. Hope you get some sleep Munner bye.
Hey - how's the grid today - short one I see
Sleep tight, Munner
Short and sweet matty
odd grid behavior: I enter a word, it tells me I've already entered it. But I haven't. This has happened with four words in the last five minutes, but not with every word. Known bug? Any solution?
Good morning. This makes a change from the past few days!
never mind, I just realized my husband was sneaking in clues.
Have you got a babble fairy? My husband smetimes plays on my account - I'm at work, he's at home, and I have to refresh to pick up his words.
Snap.
men.
That would be grounds for divorce in my house.
Morning Haz
Hello FMitch - I take it you are playing? How is it?
I've played and done not too many sticky words
It's the vowel words that always get me.
Oh, well that's encouraging to hear.
What could those Ls be on the bottom right??
I haven't the foggiest idea...good morning mattygroves
hurts
Morning 123¬
I clued one of them at 2.05 :)
I've only got an unauthorised hanging and I presume the other one uses the sometimes vowel as well.
Thanks - got it now
yes it does Haz
lyar
It's have to really, Haz. I have the hangin'
LOL thats very close judy, make it 5 letters
Morning all The other L sounds like telling porkies about a picture!
Got it, thanks all.
Huh? Fibs aboout a photo?
Got it - lol!
Thinking more of a painting
As in not having the foggiest notion what the picture is, but making encouraging noises to sound intelligent.
A funny astory about the as6/21. (OK, maybe not THAT funny) - when my daughter was 3, she said something in the car, and we said she's very as6/21. She piped up "No flies come off me!"
Clever child!
Can someone please help me with the L workds at the botton?
So what's the last six - I have that one, the female bow, the rubbish, the honesty and the lack of sex...
aleksia, one in ly5/18 - it means an unauthorised hanging and rhymes with a unit of imperial measurement (12 of them in a foot)
The other one is ly5/14 - add a word used for creative drawing, sculpture, painting etc
sorry dont no
ch6/33 add to the ch5/16
Try then adding the end of the word that boxers do with their fist (pu***)
Back shortly.
please can anyone help with the ty5/16 I am monkey typed up to the first knuckle?!?
think of the church donation word and change the i to a y...for the ty 5
alt spelling of tax to church or charity mari
Got it !!!!!!!!!!1
Not got there yet Mari!
Oooh - I don't have a ch5/16...
mari -start at the bottom right and go up diagonally to the top left vowel
can you clue it please?
its ok....got it!
it's a deep gorge or cleft, matty
Thanks a million everyone - isn't it obvious when you get the clues
Flask - see mine just below yours
Jilli...thankyou, I did....lol!
2 left
I need a cu6/30. Anyone got a clue to that?
That's the sixes - thanks!
Female bow.
cu - if you met the Queen you would do this
Got it! Many thanks :)
Anyone have the T from the lower left hand corner?
That's it - fireworks!!!
well done Jilli!!
It's th4/6 use the count to help you, I think the owrd is an abbreviation.
congrats jillibus!!
congrats jilli
Matty - 4 letter word short for a longer word
Matty, coming ---- the rye!
thanks, all - so now I have no excuse to stay up too late
whats the time with you now Jilli??
12:53 am, Flask -- and with you?
almost 9am!
Got it - thanks!
Hello Jjillibus - fancy seeing you here! And congratulations on finishing.
So good morning to you and good night to me :D
Exactly!
Where in Canada are you Jilli?
Hi Haz!
Hi Haz - it's hard to stay away, right? And what shall I do tomorrow? Catch up on Stid's story, I think, and visit here a bit, and see Cybernan's photos, and get some gas (petrol) for the car which is almost empty...and so on
Flask, I'm in British Columbia, west coast
It sounds as though you can fill your days with no difficulty, jillibus. And Good morning Flask.
Cybernan's photos are lovely.
13 left will save those for later, bbl
cheers MVA!!
Now I lay me down to sleep...
i'm having trouble with the L words fromt he bottom row. anyone have a few clues for me?
ly5/14 - add a word covering painting, sculpture etc, ly5/18 - an unauthorised hanging
oh my gosh...this late at night, i would have never seen those. thank you very much.
great clues
You're welcome nava.
stup
8 letter phantom is killing me
or, at least i think that's what you guys call them ;p
down to last five...stuck....all help appreciated: cu 5/18, le 5/14, pe 5/16, ru 5/16, th 4/6
got th 4/6 finally
okay, got cu 5/18....just need le 5/14, pe 5/16 and ru 5/16...thanks for any clues
ru5/16 is adjective from previous word. How stags might feel in autumn.
apply the same principle for the pe5/16
pe5/16 - think minor misdemeanours. ----- crimes.
thans hydra and Fmitch...down to one and then I can go to sleep...le 5/14 cannot find it.
le5/14 = take the le4/4, drop the last letter and add op of down.
Thanks! Finished. Anything I can help anyone with before I head off to bed?
Well, I shoot to be content when I have gotten to 50% not there yet, but heading towards it! Good night girlfriday
Okay, time for me to depart. Have a good day all!
Bye Haz, have a good day
i have a feeling these cu's are easier than im making this.. cu 5,16?
Afternoon everyone! Looks like a nice grid, this one does. :)
scv: something you drink from + spell 12th letter
ah, i had swapped the end there. thanks!
yw :)
good...errr... morning everyone!
alright, im done for the night
Good morning all
morning folks... nice gentle 77 today... :)
Morning sherb It is a good grid today, are you settling into you holiday routine?
morning FMitch :) ...holiday routine seems to consist of doing as little as possible... bliss...
sounds perfect sherb, enjoy it and the lovely weather today too.
the weather makes me wish I had a garden to sit outside in... been daydreaming that my neighbours in the garden flat might move...
A nice dream if you enjoy pootling about in a garden. When I had houses with gardens I never had time to enjoy them, now I have the time and no garden!
it would have to be low maintenance for me... I'm no gardener...
lol
With 17 words left, it's time for me to go off to work. Later everybody! :)
later KItty... :)
Hi and Bye Kitty
My phantom word today - lettuce. And on that thought I'm off to cricket. Back later for my last 20
bye Frances :)
Bye sherb. Back tonight
hi everybody!
Morning...
hi pam!
hi FranMag and pam :)
hi sherb!
This is not a "fun" grtid: it's work, lol--been on for almost 20 minutes and don't have a great deal to show for it, oh well...
it's very short on vowels...
Morning everyone.
hi jac!
morning Jacula :)
Can't resist piping in to say good morning. I should be down town shopping already, but I can spare a minute to say hello!
hi haz!
Hi, haz!
And, bye all! Time to go. See you tonight
It's not the most welcoming grid in the world, but the chat log's nice!
bye pam!
morning Haz :) ...these little ones are fun... bye pam :)
brb - phone
I happened to be on the chat log late last night (well, up to midnight our time). It moves really fast! I was quite dizzy by the end of it.
purchase would be a good word...
lol haz! i can barely keep up when it's like that either!
then it suddenly quietens down, like everyone's exhausted...
It reminded me of the old style stock exchange!
open outcry!
I'm back. Hi Haz. Yes, the chatlog does fairly zip along at night.
Have any of you played 'Pit'? It's great fun, but not to be played for hours at a time.
What's 'Pit', Haz?
Haz... link??
It's a card game, based on the idea of swapping cards to get the hand you want. You try to exchange them with the other players, but you have to shout out what you are looking for. I'll see if I can find a link.
www.gamesmuseum.uwaterloo.ca/VirtualEx hibits/CardGames/Pit/index.html - 8k - It was made by Waddington
I think in the US it was called Bulls and Bears. (I've managed to stop the conversation stone dead, haven't I?)
Sorry Haz - I was typing the missing bits of link in. Only got 404 error messages for it so far...
I'm just stuck on the C's...
Sorry - I googled waddington pit and that was one of the links.
Got it. Stop the link after Pit/ and it works.
haz, looks like fun
I've bookmarked it to check out later. Thanks, Haz.
sherb, i've got all of them if you'd like a clue.
It is - I used to play it with my cousins and it got extremely noisy. It was even worse when the grown-ups joined in!
what ages is it meant for?
We used to play lots of card and board games, and have singsongs. People don't seem to do that so much these days.
I think it's probably described as a family game. Very young children probably wouldn't be able to understand it but from 10 upwards would be okay.
thanks Fran... just trying to see how many I can get on my own... I only do that with these small grids... otherwise I take any help I can get!! :)
totally understand sherb.
I've been banned from playing some games with my family - they say I'm too competitive. Just because I try to win......
This isn't getting my shopping done, so I must go. Have a good day and see you later.
later haz!
later Haz... I'l probably still be here looking for my last 16 words... :)
Haz - You'd love the board game 'Spinergy'. (Spinergy gives everyone a chance to be a writer, actor, singer, poet, date magnet and stand-up comic. Given three random words, describe how your life was saved by a platoon of Marines...compose a shocking tabloid headline...deliver the ultimate pickup line... create the next blockbuster movie! Haiku, riddles, jokes, tongues twisters, songs, foreign accents, and much, much more! It's different every time you play!) I just have trouble getting people to play it with me.
'Bye Haz. (Hope you saw my last post.)
Sherb - I've still got 27 to find.
i have 3 left.
sounds good Jac... my sister and my nieces love games like that... did you buy it in the UK?
Yes, Sherb. Got it from Toys'R'Us.
It's made by GNU Games.
jac, sounds like something my college friends and i would have liked.
unfortunately, i don't live near them anymore, no one to play games with.
I've just checked and it's available on Amazon.co.uk for £29.99.
thanks Jac... just the excuse I need to put in an Amazon order... :)
LOL, Sherb.
(((HUGS)) FranMag. *thinking* I wonder if it's possible to adapt this game to play in BabAnon or somewhere?
with all the literary types in babble that would sure be interesting!
how about if you start a thread with the three random words, then give everyone a time limit to post their scenario? it would be hard to determine a winner, but it would just be for fun.
Yes, it would! I'll have to have another look at the game and see if I can adapt it. Which reminds me... I never put my crossword story game on BabAnon. *Adds to list of things to do after typing up her Crete travelog.*
Sounds feasible, FranMag.
you'd have to give everyone several hours because of all the time zone differences, but it might be fun to see what people come up with.
you'd probably have to pick the "personality" yourself.
cu6/30 please?
Yes, I think it would. Same with the 'Crossword Story' game. I invented it for another forum and we had a wonderful variety of stories, and laughs.
philod, what you have to do in front of the queen (if you're female)
philod - gather up your skirts and dip your knee.
your first post could be an explanation of the game, a list of rules and the time that the 3 random words and personality would be posted.
thanks Fran and JAc..
yw philod!
FranMag - You're going to be buying the board game, I just know it!:))
y/w, philod.
of course with this group, a limit on the number of words is in order also.
it does sound like fun jac! i seriously don't have anyone to play it with though!
FranMag - there is a limit in the game anyway (on the words).
perfect.
FranMag - I meant so you can do it on BabAnon. LOL.
I'll have to send you a copy of the game stuff.
jac, if i did it i think my husband would have a fit! he thinks i'm on this thing too much already.
I won't have chance to deal with it today as I have hutches to muck out and my travelog to start typing. The travelog's not finished yet but I need to type up what's done so far, the easier to see what still needs doing. I shall also (unusually) be watching a couple of programmes on TV tonight - 'Sorted' and 'Grumpy Old Holidays'.
FranMag - my Other Half thinks the same as yours!
et5/16 please?
well you know men, they want all the attention!
Fran - Yup!
philod - don't have it yet. Sorry.
philod, a type of alcohol, sounds like a woman's name
good morning everyone
hi eva!
Hi Eva & Merp.
morning Eva :)
Got the et5 now. Thanks FranMag.
yw jac.
phantom word for the day-lettuce
LOL Eva. I have a phantom phrase. First thing I saw when I got the grid up was, 'Let me buy stuff'.
phantom word.. thrasher..
still stumped on the et5..
are you one of those "when the going gets tough the tough go shopping" people, Jac?
Just realised I used a word in my 5:51 list of what I'm going to do today.:)
Eva - No. I just saw it there. (Must have been thinking of my daughter!) LOL
oh yes, you did! *looking for wet noodle*
philod - for the et5 - How's your knowledge of old UK kings? There was one called Et****** The Unready.
newly coined word-lepur-a lemur with a skin condition
Oh no, FranMag! Not the dreaded Pot Noodle! Nooooooo!
Eva - LOL.
im irish so not great..
Philod - How about the old singer then - Et*** Merman?
i like that eva! i tried the word earlier too!
phil-lucy's neighbor on the Lucy show, but change the second vowel
The spelling is slightly different but you will get the et word from it.
letsy
oops
eva and jac, i couldn't think of a single et*** except my mom's friend when i was growing up! i doubt philod knew her though.
Merp! Stop typing in Eva's message box.
as you can see I'm tracking the elusive second top l....
lol
Fran - I doubt he knew my ex's Gran either.
one of those names which has gone out of fashion
Eva - 2nd top 'l' - a compound word. It's rained all day with no le***.
thanks! Never would have thought that was a proper word.

good morning (or good day, or good night!)
Holding my breath for you, FranMag.
hi cliffopa!
Hi cliffopa.
don't jac! it's eluding me.
hi Cliff! What a gloriously cool morning isn't it. QAnybody want some zucchini?
What is it, FranMag?
Wow - Just in time fro another franMag win !
the first st5/12
hi lynxxx!
tyrl
trast
okay-time to go for a walk and stop spilling into the chat log!
eve - new england is the place to be today! i'm seriously thinking about calling in well so i can go for a hike!
FINALLY!!
Fran you can st*** your stuff when you see fireworks
eva, merp is getting better though!
not finished
just got the et5!!
do it cliff! too rare to waste
I haven't done all the 's's' yet (2 to go). I do have an st5/12 that is the sort of proud walk a cockerel does or a piece of wood that helps hold something up.
Well done, philod.
that's it fmitch!! now why didn't i see that?
fireworks!!!
Congrat Fran and Hi all
WELL DONE, FRANMAG!
Hi again, FMitch.
YAY for FranMag !
thanks also jac!
Hi lunxxx.
cliffopa, must be a relief after all those extremes of heat and rain recently.
Hello Jac - FM - Eva - Cliff. - Philod (and anyone else I can't see)
yes indeed franmag - this is what i consider 'perfect' weather. i'm hoping it lasts for a while.
how dumb is it that i had the last st5/12 which i've never heard before, but needed a clue for the first one?
Thats babble for you Fran :)
Because, FranMag, Babble accustoms us to looking for weird words, not easy ones.
i guess so!
If the word 'simple' was in the grid, it'd be the last one most of us found! LOL.
lol, probably true jac!
there are at least two babblers in the grid today.
Yep - Hetty and ??
ru4/6y, our welsh friend.
Ah, yes, RU.
and sha also.
Hursh is nearly there.
Hi everyone. :) Yay, small grid tonight.
fmitch is a scattered phantom.
hi jencatd!
Lol, Fran, yes.
Hi Jen. It may be small but it can stand up for itself!:)
Ah story of my life Fran :)
I see that. ^^ Looks a little more finishable than yesterdays.
jen, a small, but feisty grid!
lol fmitch!
14 to go...
gooo jac!
*emerges from amazon* ...amazing what you can find... Haz's Pit game is there for £4.75... and also a 15 puzzle, where you have the numbers 1-15 in a 4x4 grid and you have to get them in the right order... somebody stop me before I order anything else!!
does anyone want a clue? i may actually get to sleep before 2 am today!
stop sherb!!
hi all - i need he4/6!
Oh dear, sherb! What have I done?
hi sandr! what do you need?
Hi sandr.
hserb - step away from the credit card!!!
I'm telling myself I'm doing my Christmas shopping early...
LOL, FMitch.
lol - im just looking - i thought i was being funny!
all who know me know i need he4/6!
fmitch, she's probably got it memorized like i did at the height of my addiction to amazon!
LOL, sandr.
cute sandr!! :-)
Could have been worse, FranMag; could have been an ebay addiction.
no kidding, i almost got sucked in to that too!
Oh dear! Seriously, FranMag? I guess it's far too easy to click away on the Internet, forgetting you really DO have to pay for the things you order.
st5/14 please?
you don't need to memorise the number for amazon, amazon stores it.
philod, it rhymes with the step up to your front porch.
fireworks!
yay grace!!!
Congrats, Grace!
WELL DONE, GRACE!
thx all!
Thanks Fran..
how many words today peepes
7 to go..
77, sandr

Congratulations Grace !
*'the st4/5 up to your front porch? Scratches head.*
i'm having trouble finding the 't' that comes off the bottom left hand corner. any hints?
jac, or what you have to do to get into lower cupboards.
Got it. Thanks again, FranMag.
cliffopa, drive-th** at mcdonald's
tell the t**** and shame the devil cliffopa
yw jac!
sandr, that's the middle T.
well franmag - that was a bit too obvious! how the heck did i not see that?
The t in the bottom corner is a th4/6 and is a short form of a word - use the tile count to help you
cliff, you probably looked past the H trying to make a TR word like i was doing at first.
that is exactly what i was doing.
It's the bottom r/h 't' that's giving me trouble. I've got the 'rubbishy' words (2) and the 'thing you carry stuff on (2). The final 2 are eluding me.
Sorry - final 1.
jac, it's a ty word, what you give the church.
alt spelling of a ti word that comes up a lot.
Got it! Why didn't I see that? Thanks yet again, FranMag. I was too busy wondering why 'lych' as in church lych gate isn't allowed.
i tried to put in lythe a couple of times, doesn't it look like it should be a word?
ty5?? dont get the want you give in church clue..
There is an 'ly' word that works - surname of Coronation St's barmaid 'Bet', jazzman Kenny or 'hang'.
philod, it's a custom of giving 10% of your earnings to your church, usually spelled with ti, ty5/16.
Actually, Kenny was better known for his comedy.
don't know what the ly5/14 means though
okay, going to bed now! i'll see all you lovely people later or tomorrow!!
Bye Fran
see ya fran
AHH thanks.. didnt even notice the bottom right T..
Night night Fran
hopeless..
ly5/14 is an archaic word for a horse with dappled white & grey spots.
'Night FranMag. Sleep well.
see you learn something new every day! night.
jacula - i don't know how you did it, but i instantly got that ly 5/14 from your clue.

From reading old tales of knights & derring do, maybe, cliffopa? y/w anyway.
I have 11 left, too. Think I'll save them for this evening.

Byeee.
Congrats to Philod - YAY
I just couldn't resist, could I? And now I have fireworks!
I'll probably still come back later to chat and clue though.

other ch 5/18 (last one)
Morning/afternoon/evening, Babblers! How's the grid? Seeing just 77 words scares me. ;)
It's fun Krista dive in and enjoy
Hi Krista
ch5/18 - add the sometimes vowel to the burning ch4/5
the last ch5/18 is the plural of the ch4/8 before it
Hi Krista, it's not too bad
ch4/6, I mean
Thanks! I will give it a go. I need something to pass the time here at work (other than work, of course).
Afternoon Haz
Good afternoon, FMitch - it's tipping it down here!
the only ch 4/6 i have cant be plr'ed unless im missing something
Oh really, sorry to hear that!! W are back to the high 70's again.

ha5/16 - change the last letter of the ha5 before it. st5/12 - st*** your stuff or an anagram of the same word for the other one
The first ch5/18 means cautious and is formed by adding a sometimes vowel to the ch4/6. The second ch5/18 - c plus plural dried grass
pe 5/16....last word. HEEEELLLLP
ch 5/18 (the first one) - add the sometimes vowel to the first ch4/6

ugh, that shouldn't be a real word! :) thanks.
i kept trying to force thur in there, it should have clicked.

Thanks Bugzy-The houseboat trips are awesome. I spent Saturday on the lake with one of my nieces and we had a blast. The water was like bath water

Thanks feather - it made me laugh out loud when I saw it.. had to use it!!
*passes out plates of blackberry cake* Okay, now I need to get my act together and go to the laundromat and get those smelly sleeping bags from camp clean... (and shopping and library and fill up the gas tank...)

*sigh* see you-all later!

happy errands stid, later
Google search for "Inigo Montoya" :)
Bye stidmama - have fun!
lol, awesome. i had a hard time deciding, so went with one that had as many of the people as possible
*said with big bite of yummy blackberry cake in mouth*
bits are in my teeth now hehe
It's one of my very favorite lines in the movie - almost went with Fred Savage, as I just read that he became a father recently... time flies!!
oh, i just found a great one!!!! hang on...
I remember the Wonder Years - time does fly - he is still a child to me
ok, refresh!
the movie really is more about the quotes than the pictures!
inconceivable indeed
LOL - I can see it when I click on your icon feather! Love it!
hmm...in honor of the day, i think i'll put in my dvd of it while i eat lunch
CJ - he's 30 ! Yikes!
Surprised no one has the ROUS's...

Hello, all--computer problems finally solved--haven't been able to Babble for a whole week!!!
Right, must go get some lunch myself... Happy Babbling all :)
Oh my goodness, Une...how are you?? That's horrible.
WELcome back Uneaixoise
Hi Bugzy..we say that every time we see Mandy Patinkin on that cholesterol med commercial!
ecstatic now that all is restored! :-)
I bet you are!
krista, i could look at your icon all day
Hi Une and LOL Krista !! Really going now....
Thanks, Feather. I couldn't decide between Cary Elwes and the priest character.."Mawaige, twue wove..." Cary won out.:)~
lol, i almost did the priest!
So many great characters to choose from.
Feather, will you still be able to Babble when school starts?
not during the day
i'm watching the movie right now..."do you want me to send you back to where you were??? unemployed? in greenland???"
fezzik, are there rocks ahead?
All the teachers I know have such busy evenings, too. I really enjoyed the special features on the dvd.
This film is number 50 on Bravo's 100 Funniest Movies. It is consistently placed in the Internet Movie Database's Top 250 list of films, with over 65,000 votes.
It's one of those movies that appeals to everyone. My husband watched it for the first time when he bought me the dvd for xmas..the title always put him off, but he loved it.
Okay, I was going to quietly lurk and find my one last word and I looked at your Bugzy icon. ROFL!
Now I've got to go find one.
lol, isn't it great?
Isn't that a great one, smithchick? I think Bugzy went to lunch.
"see???? the cliffs of insanity!!!" "hurry up...move the thing.....and....that other thing! move it!"
while searching for my icon, i ran across some cute fansites. there was a list of goofs in one, and it said if you run the rolling down the hillside scene slowly, buttercup has a beard.
Swordfight coming up soon, then!
yep! i was in colorguard, my friend and i twirled sabers, and often tried to reenact it
Oh, I love reading those kind of things. May I have a link if you remember it? Buttercup with a beard? Bad stuntman placement, I'd say. That's great.
never saw a pic of it, just ran across it mentioned in a goofs listing
try to google princess bride goofs
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Princ ess_Bride_%28film%29 look down at the bottom under trivia, i'm reading that right now
Okay...Here's my icon for my one last word
nice choice smith!
It was inconceivable that I use anything else!
lol
ok, feather..sorry, kid I work with was waffling on about concert tickets...
# Cary Elwes and Mandy Patinkin learned to fence (both left- and right-handed) for the film, reportedly spending all their free time during the production practicing with an instructor and with each other. Elwes and Patinkin performed all of the fencing in the swordfight scene; the only stunt doubles were for the two somersaults.
And now I have my fireworks! Any my dirty house is calling. Rather loudly. Dang house. Bye!
congrats smith and bye!
WTG SC!
Hey matt! How are ya? Long time no see.
I am always amazed at swordfight scenes..has to be so hard..Hey Matt, we were just talking about the priest - good one.
André the Giant had trouble with both the speed and clarity of his lines, prompting Mandy Patinkin to actually slap him in the face to get him to concentrate harder. It worked.
these are all from wikipedia's article on the film
ok, watching the sword fight now
can I get a clue for the cu 4,9 and cu4,6 the first one?
cu 4/6 is what you eat at the movies with a different vowel
was just reading it..musical version being made..it's a wonder that hasn't already been done...watched a documentary about Andre once..interesting life.
cu 4/9 is the time you make you kids come home minus the last two letters
i was very sad when i heard he died
ok thanks
Oh, I know. Everyone said he was such a sweet man.
*sigh* what a smirk on the man in black! mmmm-mmmm
awwww "In the documentary As You Wish, Robin Wright-Penn recalled that when the weather was cold, André the Giant covered her head with his huge hand to keep her warm."
Elwes is on Ella Enchanted (movie my daughter watches a lot) as her evil uncle. He still looks good, but not as good as then...
Are you done the grid?
yep
I have 36 left. Haven't worked on it too much yet. Doesn't seem bad for a short puzzle. The short ones always seem harder.
Done.. I like grids that are this size...
hey everyone!
congrats lara hi helen!
Yay, Lara!! Hiya Helen!
on the iocane powder scene
Thanks
Classic scene..so clever.
Those are some darn cute kids, Lara.
How are you coming on the grid, Helen? Finished?
i just stopped by to change my icon - i have 10 left, but gotta go play tennis now - see you later :)
Hi/bye hk ..
feather - was reading back in the log - i wondered about that sword fight, cause it didn't look like doubles - unless they were very, very exact doubles - how fascinating they learned all that swordplay!
your first time was last night? how'd you like it helen?
hi tor - bye tor
Hey torgone - I miss your "shotgun shack" profile. ;)
well, i think i missed some undefinable thing by not seeing it at the time of release - kind of like not seeing star wars when it first came out on the big screen
I think that was yours...
but overall - it didn't bore me - parts were very funny - i really liked seeing all these actors in their youth
hehe...i've seen it so many times that i know the script by heart...or used to. still know huge chunks of it
my neighbor quotes movies, now i know where that montoya thing comes from, lol
My friend was making fun of me at the beach because I can talk along with Dirty Dancing. Kind of embarrassing!
gotta run - later - bye - *poof*
cya
I was glad when hubby finally watched it, now I don't have to explain the quotes.
dirty dancing is another one that i never get tired of
I haven't watched the special features to that one, yet. 1pm and haven't had coffee yet..be back in a few.
i think i have that one memorized, featherbee
Nobody puts Baby in a corner. ;)
lol
i carried a watermelon?
LOL! :)
hehe, running the hill scene in slow mo
Anyone want some coffee? Only have powdered creamer here today, sorry....See a beard???
can't quite see the beard, but it's totally a guy
almost looks like the same guy doubling for westley
That's too good. I'm looking for that one tonight.
hard to tell
Is that when they are running toward the Swamp...ugh..name escaping me..Swamp of something..
or forest of...
fire swamp?
Yes, thanks!!
yes
more trivia krista: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt00 93779/trivia
thanks, and here are more goofs (scroll down for one about the Rodent of Unusual Size..you should be close to that scene now?)http://www.moviemistakes.com/film 1017
geeze, the one about him getting hit on the head!
yeah, flame spurts right now
Do you have trouble cutting/pasting from chat log?
hello
Hey nrkii! How are you?
lots of continuity errors
no, i know you have to cut and paste in parts
hey nrkii!
May I have some help with ly5/18 please?
ly 5 = sounds like to hang from a rope
I have 12 left
this seems like one I could do without list ... was going to try without clues, but I got bored... might get bored without list too...
ok, finally got it..when I was pasting it, I was adding a slash somehow
afternoon again all!
hi eva
rob reiner was the voice for the rous!
Shoot, yes, that bit about him getting hit on the head is something!
nrkii -- and what are your feeling on "mawwage?" ;)
Hey Eva? Slacking at work like me?? Still need my coffee...
krista -- on my lunchbreak ;)
eva, oh that's a better spelling than I managed!
Looks like today's theme is Princess Bride
Twue Wove.
lol
Inconceivable!!1
man and wife! say MAN AND WIFE!!
ROUS's? No such thing!
or, to go along with MY icon, one of my favorite lines from the whoel movie -- "im not a witch, im your wife! and after what you just said, im not even sure i wanna be THAT anymore!!"
lol
I just always think "Have fun storming the castle!" when I see them.
I need to get the soundtrack to that movie again -- I used to be so productive writing with that playing in the background but I don't have it on CD
"think itll work?" "itd take a miracle!"
Ok, I need to have fun storming the stack of work on my desk! Maybve we can do scrabble soon, Feather? (bring an Artchie comic)
I love that movie
And Ever After is another good one in that genre
Archie, even
hmm..will have to look for that one, Lady
wasnt a big ever after fan, myself...
Its wonderful
cu 5/16 pls? ty
cu + pen *** but change vowel
daisy -- something that holds a beverage + ** nino
or, two people, drop the O
and switch last two letters (oops)

oh ty...I tried that "2 people" approach, but didn't know to switch the letters around. got it now:)
I'm getting nowhere ... still 12 left

doub till be any help, but im willing to try, daisy!
sorry, was chatting with my dad on the phone!
yes, scrabble sounds fine
let me get these last 2 words, and I'll scrabble too, if you'll have me after last night! lol
scrabble?
ok, feather, it's okay, I was brewing..catch you later
crikey! took me until just now to get the TH4 from the lower left corner....because its NOT a word!!
no, i'm here now
Most of the movie was filmed on location in England. The castle used for the film dated back to 1065 and had original tapestries on the walls.
mmmm....those lips.....
st 5/14 pls?
hehe, lots of good trivia here! The giant rodents were created with diminutive actors inside rat suits. On the day Westly was supposed to battle the giant rat, the "rat actor" was pulled over for speeding and subsequently arrested, and actually had to be bailed out of jail by the filmmakers so the scene could be filmed.
I can remember seeing Rob Reiner on The Tonight Show when the movie came out, describing the beautiful locations. His promo is what made me go see it.
st5/14, like dummy, just not "id" on the end
rhymes with the thing people sit on out front of a row house in the city...
"the pit of despair!"
ty feathers:)
Call the Brute Squad - You are the Brute Squad!!!
and...even tho I know I'll hate myself for it...that blasted th! pls!
That scene makes me a little sick. Did you read about the contact lenses? Can't recall the actor's name..he was in agony himself during those scenes because he was allergic to the lenses
evening all
drive-TH**
the highway, or the th**way
yes, just read it
Mandy Patinkin claims that the only injury he sustained during the entire filming of this movie was a bruised rib due to stifling his laughter in his scenes with Billy Crystal.
help with ty please

HAHA, blonde_mama, thats how i got that one last night.. i was listening.

Hi, Annie

ha 5/16, don't be too quick
Hello Une!
ch 6.33, please
hey, jillibus!
ha5,16 ... don't be too ha... Jump to conclusions
the cu5 sark is the name of a ship as well, and cu5 is the name of a doctor on the USA show "house"
annie - a VERY unlikely adjective built on the 5/16
annie, ch5/16 before it with a sometimes vowel
hugh laurie . . . sigh . . .
une thinks hugh is cute?
thanks, jilli
I LOVE him!!
and hurshy
cute, charming, witty . . .
he was so funny in Jeeves and Wooster, playing a Brit twit
yw, annie
i find him an extremely talented actor, and i suppose attractive in a way, but not the kind of attractive that makes me go "sigh..."
back up the turnip truck, they have movies with bertie and jeeves?!?!!!!!!!!! where can i find them?
it's the "ensemble" of the parts that makes me swoon
ch6,33 ... its a ravine or gorge + a consonant
hurshy, they were quite a while ago, but are available on DVD
how many are there jilli?
i cant get the e's.
golly, I don't know but I get a catalogue called Vidoes or something -- will look it up *goes hunting*
et5 is a chemistry word
scv...one is a greek letter, the other a type of alcohol
et4 is like it but cut off the end and then make it pl.
that's not greek, hebrew maybe, but not greek
theres only 1 greek et, etc and its not long enough
oh i should read the log before i post
jilli - was it a tv series? with stephen fry (who was in one of my favorite movies, cold comfort farm)? that's what's popping up on amazon.
evenin babblers!
why didn't you just say it was an "interdental fricative"?
hi evan
sheesh
cause my linguistics is rusty and i wouldn't have expected anyone to know what it was :)
finished the grid this afternoon...just popping by in case anyone needs clues...
well, i still don't! :P
then how do you know it's an interdental fricative?
Im missing two of the p words
dictionary.com
I'm off to other pursuits -- see you at the flip. :)
bye cybernan! hi evanadine!
just trying to figure out what of these words mean... might as well learn something while im hear
perhaps you miss ph4/7 and its plural, morphy?
TY!
yes, the PH'es were escaping me earlier -- didnt help that the stats were telling me i needed 2x4 when i really needed a 4 and a 5!
Jeeves and Wooster - there are four seasons on video, approx. 20 hours, but each season is available separately. The catalogue is Video Collectables, P.O.Box 420, Stn A, Richmond Hill, ON L4C 4Y6, Canada. It's all British classics - yummy!
i've put the megaset (complete collection) on my wishlist, jilli!!! :) :)
It ain't cheap, Hurshy! $189.98 Canadian.
st5/12?
i know, but someday my ship will come in...
there are 2 st5/12, one means to walk about like a peacock, the other is an anagram of that.
there are 2x ST5/12 one is a kind of a walk (at the end of "staying alive" john travolta says 'i wanna ST5!')
hurshy -- maybe one day your CU5 sark will come in. :)
lol evanadine
oh im sorry i was rushing through the list there. im missing the other.
jilli - i don't know what the conversion rate is exactly but i think it's cheaper on amazon than in your catalog
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ \
and that's what marty thinks about that...
scv -- just swap the middle letters
I just checked Amazon and I see it's $100 US
thank you
even with these tiny icons i make out miracle max and valerie... what's the theme, famous couples?
for the record - even if ch 6/33 actually is a word, it shouldn't be.
princess bride of course!
wuv...tru wuv...
oh my, then what am i doing with a baby donkey-dragon on?
lol i have no idea!
hurshy - the catalogue is worth getting because of all the other goodies in it you might not know existed!
will fowwow you fowevver...
Theme today is Princess Bride which I haven't seen so I used the real thing...
ok there we go
you're quick!
jilli, you MUST go rent it PRONTO
your life is seriously incomplete until you have seen this movie
in honor of the day, i watched it during daniel's nap...for about the 683rd time
I haven't seen it in ~3 years
helen watched it for the first time yesterday
Ok ok - if I ever get time to watch anything now that I babble incoherently
and helen said?
As 6/21 clues?

the most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia
the first, of course, is doing sudoku puzzles on the babble page
All that trivia and movie quoting pooped me out - I had to leave work and take a nap!

Snap, crackle, pop!!!!
that ty clue.. that word is with an i, no?
Do you want to play after Daniel goes to bed??? (just kidding). About what time is that?
Hurshy, sometimes iot
6:45ish grid time
oops - sometimes it's easier to go to http://games.atari.com and take it from there.
SPEAKING of snap, crackle, and pop, if you are out of breadcrumbs, rice krispie dust makes an excellent breading for fish, i discovered last night.
as6,21 please!
I bet that is rather yummy!
very clever, as****
Cool!
How does it taste?
cu5/16 please
it's pretty good, and very crispy
OK, Feather. I"m at my mom's now; will give you a shout in about an hour. See you all later!

Oh, sorry ShadeEagle.
i think ill end up going pro, just wanted to make sure i'd stick with this. sometimes i get really into a game and then my interest fades after a week or so
eh, it's the life of a college student. it's not a hard broke, just broke.
I'll ask stidmama about that.
yeah my mother supports my word game addiction.

I am doing so bad today!

hi annie, krista, reese's!
How are you, Reese? Hey Annie!
cool krista!
hi douglas!
Hello FranMag!
thar
oooops
Thar she blows, Annie. :)
lol
I tried that one, too. :)
douglas, we're having star trek theme day in October some time, i think the borg should be reserved for you and no one else should be allowed to have it.
lol annie!
did stidmatt leave because we have the same icon?
Please tell me for the 50th time where i can find the list of themes? I promise I'll bookmark it this time.
I'm thankful for Babble, giving me a place where everybody knows my inner geek...
krista, there's a link on lickety's page on the right
douglas, your inner geek can frolic with all of ours!!
You're in good geek company here. Not sure how "inner" we are, though.
lol krista! quite true.
We wear our Geek on our sleeves.
baby just woke up, i'll be back in a bit, have to fix her lunch.
Hey, FranMag, we are using the same icon! LOL!!!
Ok Fran..see you in a bit. Ty for the theme info.
Do you like PB, Matt? I think the title of the movie scared off a lot of males. It's a shame.
An unspeakably hilarious movie, careening between drama, action and silliness!
Yep, something for everyone, I say.
An organic radical derived from an aromatic compound by the removal of one hydrogen atom...I have this picture of an angry man in a beard, t-shirt, beads, patchouli incense, and Birkenstocks demanding lettuce grown without violence...
I was telling Hurshy earlier that it took some convincing to get hubby to watch it, but he loved it. Now we can quote Mantoya together when Mandy Patinkin does his commercial!
Yes, I like PB, it is a good one.
I must confess I never saw the movie, now, I must!
Shame for shame!
You (and Fran) picked a good icon!
*hangs head and slinks out of room*
Hi stidmama!
(I know you are on!)
You'll love it, Annie. Douglas, was that a clue, or just need to get that out of your system?? LOL
i thought somebody might have a peter falk or a wallace shawn icon tonight
It was a clue! What's the word for words that are only found in Babble? It's one of those...
babbllet
phantom cyan
*babblet
Yeah, that's it, a babblet!
phantom rhythm
Your clue smacks of chemistry, Douglas. I'd need a clue for your clue!
hello Douglas, where have you been?
hi all!
hey mama
There was a Wallace Shawn earlier; haven't seen a Peter Falk.
It's when I saw the phrase "organic radical," that the picture came into view in my mind's eye...
hi chj!
Hi mama!
Hello Mama, our personal raconteur (raconteuse?)
hi stid
I finished earlier, I was just stopping in to see how things were going -- am I needed for clues, or have you-all already finished?
I know a lot of those organic radicals. I loved the imagery, Douglas! Very funny.
I Babbled with my children on Saturday afternoon...we got about 70 words, or about half the words...I just didn't chat...
Not me!
ty5,16 anyone?
well that was pretty good, Douglas! I was surprised how hard the last few grids have been. They weren't large, but they were time-consuming.
Still plugging away, Stid, thanks.
Ciboulette: "the ty" you want is an alternate spelling for an expected gift to your church, the words in quotes are a clue.
ty please!
ty + most commom word in *** english language
Sorry, didn't see that.
okay, I am going to see if the paints and fabrics that arrived today are what I expected... back later!
sneaky variant spelling...
thanks, never seen that spelling...
oh, sounds like fun! Art goodies!
One word got me thinking about Noodles Romanov...I think I'm hungry...
is that anything like stroganoff?
If it isn't, it should be!
There are noble ideas right in the middle of the puzzle!
the ts word..any others?
I was walking down the street when I thought I heard this voice say...
Say, ain't we walking down this very street together on the very same day!
I said "Hey, senorita, that's ****** I said...."
Just monkeyed the "organic radical" word!
"Why don't we get together and call ourselves and institute?"
Your clue leaves me clueless.
(another good movie)
You haven't heard the song "Gumboots" by Paul Simon? Your education is incomplete!
okay baby is eating and son's lunch is heating up.
what do you need krista?
..?? is 'organic radical' a clue?
*confused*
(oh it's me btw, Babbler) : )
They do read like Paul Simon lyrics, now that I look at it!...Yes, Daisy. It didn't help me find the word, though!
oh, just got the organic radical. : /
Douglas was offering a clue using a Paul Simon song I don't know.
yes douglas, i was thinking they were paul simon lyrics myself.
thank god for googling lyrics :P
yeah, I don't think I know that song either, Krista.
oh, Krista, btw, when I log back in as Babbler, add me as a friend, then you'll have the theme list handy. : )
(saw your post earlier)
It was off the Graceland album, my (and many other's) favorite Paul Simon album
oh hi babbler aka daisy eric!
A man walks down the street...maybe it's a street in the third world..maybe it's his first time around...Yes, I shall, thanks. I remember reading that you go by two names. :)
doesn't speak the language, holds no currency
You can call me Krista, or you can call me Al. But that would be weird.
I like Diamonds in the soles of her shoes off that album. (was it that album??)
Hi Fran! : )
any clues for as6/21?
He sees angels in the architecture, spinning in infinity (my fave line)
Indeed yes!
seadove, as6/21, means insightful
I must listen to that album again. I was thinking about it the other day. He was interviewed on tv recently (Paul Simon).
always a small puzzle when i can't work it...it's like they know.
yep, same album. We must be old; we say "album."
hey nut!
SeaDove - good clue at 6.39pm
oh I was just thinking that krista.
Juicy icon, there, Nutty
lol! Krista! yeah... I'm about the same age as you!
Which, SeaDove? The old comment?
thanks krista....yummy
thanks franmag... I actually had typed that in.. with a typo..no wonder it didn't work.
He did have a Oscar nomination for the song "Fathers and Daughters" for the Wild Thornberries movie...
then we're all old, i'm the same age as krista!
yw seadove.
hey nutster! it's meeeeee!! do you recognise me? :D:D:D
LOL! **sound effect of wrinkles shaking**
then you're all older than me by more than ten years. he he he
lol..me too FranMag.
you whippersnapper you!! lol
*throws Oil Of Olay in Krista's general direction* here catch! done wonders for me! lol
There was a link on Drudge report on stem-cell anti-aging treatments...
oh no. euw. I wouldn't go there, Douglas. Normal moisturisers are good enough for me. : /
nut, do you know who daisy eric is?
yeah, nutster! do ya? huh? huh? do ya? huh?
**catches big dollop and hopes for the best** ty, i need all the help I can get..crowsfeet starting to form!!
hehehehehe
babbler correct?
clue: cat boots and chalk ; )
partner in crime (another clue)
well, not crime
oh she knew!
YEAHHHHHHH!!!
as if i don't read her profile daily!
LOL!! awww, bless you!
it would be fun to get an alter ego and mess with all of you..pretend to be a troll....
hi Babbler!
else i wouldn't have my hot smooch up
that's true! when you get OUR age nut, you won't remember those details right away!! lol
well, I've got 42 words and I think I'm done as Daisy Eric. .... brb as Babbler...
hi stid!
Krista, that wouldn't be much pretending, now, would it? ;-)
LOL krista, no cause then dr. g would block you
hmm, i'll be on the look out for you krista!
I'm baaaack!
U calling me a 39-year old troll, Stiddy?? LOL!
well hello babbler!
hi Babbler... :-) Was just passing through to be sure stidmatt was behaving himself, only to find you confusing people! :-)
evening!
Yeah, don't wanna be blocked. Then I'd have to do something constructive with my free time. :(
you'd be surprised, Krista. I'm sure we've had some trolls who were supposed 'grown ups'!! hi again Fran!
hi feather!!
I would never call you a troll.... LOL!
naw, I wasn't confusing people, stid. well, not much, and not intentionally. ; )
I'm over half the words, so I'm going to declare victory and withdraw...I'm going to a Bible study at Solomon's Porch, where Jesus is saving Gen Y'ers...
ooh, Krista, add me as a friend so you have the themes handy.
okay, now I am going to call my mother... always something pulling me away from the chat! :-)
nut, did you or ren submit "Toe Day" already?
well done, Douglas, see you next time!
See you later, Stid....yes, was about to do that Babbler..never added a friend before...
bye douglas!
yep, Toe Day scheduled 6 Nov. Is that ok? or too far away.
toe day???? lol, dare i ask?
saw that yours is tomorrow, Fran. Hey Feather!
Krista - go to Who's Online and just click the text on the right.
dont tell me we have to show our toes
feather - it's to cheer up kristinc. Something about her icon looked like golden toes or something.
ty, Babbler..
oh yeah, the vacation day.
you can move it up babbler, i think everyone reconfirms the theme each day anyway.
aww, blue for blue's birthday!
oh, i know what i'll do for that one!!!
geesh, I thought you meant Blue from Blue's Clues at first (10th anniversary now). How sad I am.
i tend to check angelsong's calendar...i love that
yep, that's what i'm going to do krista
Stid, IM is up
krista, did you see the blue's behind the scenes special?
in fact i just realized the pick a word from the grid was added and replaced something else.
what, Feather, show your toe?
Fran - yes, I've scheduled 'pick a word' for every Friday. has it clashed with something?
oh no babbler, that
no, do blue from blue's clues!
that's a fun theme, it's not a problem
No, dang, I missed it. My daughter was telling me about it. I wish they'd show it again. I'm old school; never warmed up to Joe.
me too.
13 left and I am going for a bike ride.
cu 5/18 clue please
With my brother.
he's ok, but he's not steve
cu 5/18 sounds like silly pu***
shalll we have Gold Toes next week then?
bech, brand of scotch, cu*** sark
Have fun, Stidmatt! My daugther just asked me if she could, and I told her no, I'm playing Babble. I'm mean.
does MikeyInBerlin still play?
i don't think so babbler, ever since "the incident"
No one will ever measure up to Steve. Sniff sniff. I read in Parade that "Joe" is General Patton's cousin (trivia!).
is that the Bex incident? or was there another?
what incident? nosy minds wanna know
yes! *leans in and listens intently**
ru 5/16 clue please
this was the noblelover incident of May 9th.
ru5/16 is like the silly pu*** also
at least i think that was the date.
ty featherbee
Mikey was recovering from an operation or something, and wasn't feeling 100%, but that meant he had a few run-ins with some of us.
I don't know about noblelover's incident. I wondered where he'd got to. He was just a kid too, wasn't he?
the way it was explained to me, someone (noblelover) complained about chatting in german and Mikey took it personally.
st 5/12 clue please!
oh geeze. the complaint that is, not mikey
bech, st*** your stuff
a proud walk bech?
the first st 5/12, that is
the other one is an anagram of that one.
or the other one, switch the two middle letters
Just like to thank everyone for the clues.. have just finished the grid for the first time after numerous attempts..couldn't have done it without you
Eh. Not juicy enough. ;)
but the next day no one took mikey's side and that was the last anyone saw of him in the grid.
congrats jeannie!
yay jeannie!!!!!
that's too bad
are there 77 words in today's grid?
Whoo hooo, Jeannie! Feels good, doesn't it?!
yes bec
brb...up for scrabble, then?
It feels great..always felt a failure when all those 'fireworks'went off..feel like a proper babbler now..
yep!
awww, jeannie, congratulations! sit back and enjoy the fireworks, that's what I do. Whatever you do, don't refresh!!! lol
daisy wants to play too.
I rarely finish..it's contrary to my perfectionistic side, but there just isn't enough time. You're not a failure (but I know what you're saying)...why don't the fireworks have sound effects?
so krista, fran, daisy and me
I'll take Mikey's birthday theme out and replace it with Gold Toes Day. (next week). brb...
ok, brb in a flash..tell me what room
i'll sit in syllable central....someone IM me when you're there!
hey everyone!
hi everyone...
babbler, are you there? whatever happened to ourselves as theme for icons?
hi dorens
Thanks everyone for your kind words..nice to finally say hello to you all..I now know a whole load of new words but have no idea what they mean..I feel almost intelligent, which at just gone 1am in the morning in the UK is no mean feat!

hi nrk...you have same icon as franmag?....this means something, i'm sure
:) fran and I often think alike
congrats jeannie!
i wish i could think more like you and fran
hi Dorens. what do you mean? as photos or pics or something?
mhm...we once discussed self-portraits....then it got into discussion of photos of ourselves....which could be interesting since we all sort of know each other, but not visually???
i still have only 1 word
it might destroy our anonymity, though :)
only one left, renfield? or only one done?
hi ren, one word done or one to go?
one done
see ping, at least you think like SOME one else!
2 done
ren, you had one done when I last saw you -- I guess it's been a tough day?
hey babbler!!!!!
yes, dorens, that is reassuring!
well, it was an impromptu theme over Christmas/New Year. I can't remember if we've had it since. I thought we had, or I'd scheduled it (??). Let me look at the list... hey Ren! got your email, thanks! Gold Toes scheduled for next week. : )
nite all, my brain needs a rest ready for tomorrows grid

night jeannie!
thnaks babbler! i think you are right we did it impromptu...anj and tbear started it, then we all joined in and it was during the holidays...you solaried your face i remember that!
or was it a reversal! oh yes you made a negative out of your picture!
oh that's right!! I remember that! and I demanded Anj un-solarise himself so we could all have a good look! LOL!! that was soooo funny!
some of you are so creative...it never ceases to amaze me
Dorens, I've got this scheduled : 16 Sept - Create a South Park Character (You?)
Dorens, I've got this scheduled : 16 Sept - Create a South Park Character (You?)
maybe self-portraits morphed into that theme? or I was lurking and made it up?? I can't remember where it came from now. :/
that sounds fun!
dorens...we were all trying to impress art lady!
hahaha that came out of a discussion with someone else... i never even watch southpark, ---yes it was a morph from self-portrait...ended up self-portrait ala southpark. i'm sure it will work out to be fun....but it won't be ourselves.....
RENNNNNNNNNNNNY

I just came in to chat & clue. Finished hours ago and have been cleaning hu5/18s out and other stuff since.
Scrabbler - pu5/18 is what glaziers used to use to stick windows into frames.
i could be the hu*** of notre dam'
if i was a piece of furniture that is!
Lol, Ren.
I have that one, Jacula, so I guess it is the pu 5, 14
I'm not doing The Princess Bride theme as I never saw the film.

Hi Evanonut.
TO - le5/14 is a compound word. It has rained today with no le***!

ty!
And, no, I don't think it should be a word either!
i think i'm gonna go home now......bbs (that's be back soon) i'm not cussing

Magzel - if you take the 4th consonant out of that word you just tried you will get a word. Think Tea Clipper, the Cu*** Sark.
upaet stomach will not go away - just had a whole bunch of crakcers and feel awful

10 left. I've never been this close.
brb
go go scrabbler!
no ty lb i dohave those from once upon a time when i used to actually cook
TO - seriously, advice my doc gave me for a 'loose bowel & sickness' - take a bottle of Coca Cola and let it go flat. Sip it very, very slowly throughout the day. It not only calms the stomach but it also rehydrates you.
thanks for the clues and yes hubby came home with me today and sorry about the wrong box
jacs: i have had two cans of ginger ale already to no avail with my zantac
I had the most awful upswt stomach a week before my 2nd child was due - truly I did not know which part of me to place by the loo. (Nuff detail there, I think!) It did work though.
Ginger ale will help too, Jacula
TO - it MUST be Coca Cola, not Pepsi or any other make and it must be FLAT. I promise you it works.
when i have an upset stomach, i like a nice rare steak,...no wait, that's when i have a big paycheck, never mind
Yes, ginger is also good for the digestive system, especially for pains and period pains.
i have no t words from the top middle t - may i have some clues please?

TO, do you have the stuff you plant in the ground...green stuff
Hi all. I agree with Jacula about the flat Coca Cola; but I also find that warm flat Coke works best
I meant, yeah for dawg
Hi Jac!
as long as we're on t's, anyone got the one in the lower lefthand corner?
TO - 9th letter of the Hebrew alphabet and its plural.
Hi Nef, scrabbler, leslie, nut, TO, et.al

'Bye, TO. Hope you feel better soon.
Wow! I can't keep up with the clues here tonight!
Bye TO
it's doable, shorty
not too bad I reckon
Hi shorty. The grid's quite a nice one.
shorty, not hard, but some wacky words for sure
for real?
ty all! i started at the flip and waas up all night- i think this is contributing to my being so out of sorts
Jac, i love your pic tonight! lol
I love my pic, too, lbd. I love cow pics., especially silly ones.:)
7 to go...any cluers afield?
Kenny Chuck - I'm here to clue. What do you need?
Any clue for the AS6/21? PATY.
i'm available kenny
as6/21 = shrewd.
I have to go for a min BRB
lbd - you are, are you? LOL.
how about the top row e? i have et 4/5
Also need the very first CU5/16.
Got it, jac. Down to 6!
Jac...that's not for public notice! LOL
cu5/16 - drinking vessel + Spanish sounding word.
Leslie, woman's name. like E Merman
oh thanks lb
Proper definition for cu5/16: 1. A porous cup, often made of bone ash, used in assaying to separate precious metals from base elements such as lead. 2. The bottom or receptacle in a silver-refining furnace.
Go Kenny!
5 to go, thanks Jac!! LE5/14 and LY5/14? PATY.
Thanks, lbd! Almost there!
ly5, the KKK did this to people they didn't like
allow + opposite of down = le5
Got that one, lbd. Need the other one *S*
le5/14 - compound word. It's rained all day with no le***!
hi all
Thanks, Scrabbler! That's the kind of word I would enter out of pure frustration and it wouldn't be there. Now, because I didn't see it...Oh, well *L*
fib and what you put on the walls in frames,
hello tiny
ly + the fine***s
Thanks, Jac, didn't see your earlier LE clue!
thanks leslie
ly5/14 - archaic word for a horse with dappled grey and white spots.
lThanks, all for the LY clue. Got it!! 3 to go.
Need the RU5/16. Comes after "stuck in a ru* (pl)"
Chatlog's fairly whizzing alon now, isn't it? It clogs up and stops duirng the UK morn/afternoon.
what being stuck in a r** would make you, kenny
3 to go--how about ha5, not the one that means to go fast
ru5/16 - ru4 like.
Then, finally, I will need 2 ST5's...I have the one that is the stray cat st***.
anyone seen krista recently?
inconceivable, feather1
LeslieAnn, I swear I typed that maybe 27 times already. Thanks!!
lol
no thank you, didn't have the stray cat st***!
Both ha5's refer to going fast. One means 'speed' and the other 'speedy'.
Scrabbler, there is to go in ha***, but there is also to be ha***. Does that help?
One is the anagram of that, the other is the shortened version of to be an idiot
Fireworks!!!!!
AHA, KC---thanks. @ left.
(Why am I now singing that old Monty Python song, 'How Sweet To Be An Idiot'??)
yayyyy kenny!
Well done, Kenny!
Scrabbler, as in Ha*** pudding
whoo hoo Kenny!
Well done all of you, indeed! Such splendid clues all around. Thanks!!!
Has everyone finished now?
Got it. 2 left
I sound very British all of a sudden.
i still have 5 left, but i'm listless
here kenny, have a spot of tea
LeslieAnn, which 5? Perk perk perk perk perk
Nothing wrong with being British, Kenny!
not me
Let me move my crumpet and my lorry
erm, an a? have ar 4/6, as 4/7, as 6/21
Nothing at all, Jac. I just re-read what I wrote and thought, "My, how literate and urbane I sound."
Oh, what spiffing fun! Tea and crumpets.
Then I remembered who I am and laughed at myself!!
Mind you, Kenny, if you're moving your crumpet and your lorry - it seems you have a girl in tow. LOL.
I'm listless too, Leslie; but I'm only allowing myself 1 more hour to do this (been here about 45 min)
not as advertised, huh kenny?
nef what letters do you need?
Another ar 4/6 is ar + a sort of abbreviated form of the primary color of my icon
Leslie - I did the grid listless. It is possible.
Indeed, Jac!! *L*
yay thanks kenny 4 left
Atta girl, what's next?
cu4,9
Nef, what do you need?
a t from the bottom righthand corner? have tr 4/6, tr 5/14, tr 5/12 and tr 6/27
I have 34 words left Leslie, I still need the 1 E from the top row and 2T's from the top also (going around in circles here! ) :D
rhymes with su** and tu**, scrabbler
Scrabbler, rhymes with what the floor of most football stadiums are lined with
the e might be et*** merman, as someone clued earlier?
cu4/9 - if you have dandruff on your scalp it can also be described as scu**. Rhymes with a tu** grass word.
Do you have tr*** or consequences?
I need 2 more P's from the left; and 2 T's from the bottom right
yup i think that comes from a different t
do you have 2 ph's, nef?
Thanks, Jacula.I never heard of that before.
Oh, LA, I know...what you do in church, when you give 10% of your earnings.
T's from the bottom right are: flat thing for carrying stuff on ( and its plural). Rubbish and rubbishy. Church payment of a 10th part.
Nef, Tom P**** and the heartbreakers
Which P's do you need, Nef?
ooh i thought that was spelled with a i. thanks kenny
If you have dogs and cats and birds, in general.
and jac
Usually is. Not in BabbleChurch.
Good evening. What's the general concensus on this grid -- easy, medium, hard?
cu5/18?
Hi Gwenski, easy it is.
tu4, 8
between easy and medium i think gwenski
cu*** sark, Mary
Hi gwenski. It's a nice grid if nice cluers help a bit.
Easy compared that is to what's been the rule lately
ARRRGGGG!!!! Chat is going too fast! *)
It's a small grid, but it knows how to defend itself.
Alrighty then, I'll dive right in. Thanks for the input!
I had great cluers at the end, tho, so the last 7 were easy for me!!
what's the point total today?
lol jac
840
840
See you later, gwenski, when you emerge from the first flush of wordy success.:) I LOVE that time in the grid.
What else, LA?
ok, then i am missing a c5/18
Good clue, Kenny Chuck, ty
CH or CU?
have the plural
What you do meat on the grill + the sometimes vowel
ch5/18 - cautious.
yw, Mary
that was it! done and listless!
whoo hoo Leslie!
Yay! Yay for LeslieAnn
on P's; someone asked if I have 2 ph's I only have 1 ph 4/7
Well done, LeslieAnn!
My last one = tu4,8
plural that one Nef
The PH5/16 is the plural of the one you have, Nef
Nef - there's ph4 and its verb form or plural.
Thanks
Football grass, Scrabbler
Scrabbler...ground material in stadiums
OK. That's it for me today. Have a great nite all and thanks again for helping me finish!
'Bye Kenny. See you again soon.

*~*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR SCRABBLER*~*~*~*~
et*** merman, nef?

Hiya StidMatt.
Yay Scrabbler!
Great! That must because you are new. Hi Jacula! Stidmama should be on soon.
Also hello to anyone else who arrived when the chatlog whizzed along at turbospeed.
CU 6/30?
so what do you need now Nef?
the feminine equivalent of a bow, ronnie
I will cu 6/30 instead of bow if I am a girl.
Like Et*** Merman, Nef, but with chemical ending
another word for bow,
ronnie - gather your skirts and dip one knee to greet Royalty.
Leslie, I just figured out that clue; and I do have that E word! (Where is the fish? I just couldn't figure out the clue!)
haha well take off the last two letters and plural it then, nef
Scrabbler, watch out! Stidgrant is giggling! Everyone! Evasive action! It's contagious!
YAY Scrabbler!!!! fireworks for stids!!!!!
< *>~(~( (my poor rendition of a fish
Not me yet.
Hi stidmama!

hi lbd!
MUCKY LITTLE SODS! Just heard a noise outside and nipped out to find some teenaged lads running off, after having crept up my drive to get a closer look at me on the computer in my nightie. *Sigh*
would that be stidbbler?
Scrabbler is a Stid cousin, united here 1 wk ago
because she didn't know about us when she joined!!! LOL
now that is a catchy handle, stidbbler
Hello Stidmama.
eeewwww Jac! little pukes!
ooh Jacula! that is real discomfiting. (glad I don't live in the city)
Stidmama - I live in a country village, not a city!
ET 5/16?
They're are far worse there. Too close to the earth and all that! LOL.
I joined as Scrabbler, then recognized another Stids here
oh, my apologies... (we don't even live in a village...)
ronnie, like the actress E Merman...slightly different spelling
oh that's fun, stidbbler (as i will henceforth refer to you)
Ronnie--a chemical ending, start with ***el Merman, and sounds like her name too
:-) at least you are still attracting attention like that, Jacula... I get "ma'am"-ed regularly these days!
I cannot pronounce that. Haha. I could be Stidcuz
okay, ten minutes to storytime...
back soon.
et5/16 - an alcohool C2H5.
" 'cuz" you're a Stid? LOL
or cuzstid. why? cuzstid said so
Nef--where are you?
ROFLOL
Lol, Stidmama. Me, too. But, hey, this little guys had probably been drinking - it impairs the eyesight. ROFLOL.
Stid, i get called ma'me all the time, what really weirds me out is when i'm called Mrs....i look for my mother in law!
*giggle giggle giggle*
Scabbler Stidcuz; I'm sitting here reading chat! :D
now, Nef, we're suppose to be cluing you.
Night-night folks. THANKS for all of your help.
Forgot I'm timing my self so should buckle back douwn here
really -- I need to get my "ducks" in order before I tell the story tonight. I have a whole 'nother set of family members to introduce!
good night, Scrabbler, will let my father in law know what you said when I talk to him tomorrow. :-)
Nite Stidbbler, or stidcuz or cuzstid...lol
Matt--I love your icon--that scene of the movie just cracks me up EVERY time, and I replay it over and over.
Bye cuz!
Actually, (oh dear, that sounds very English, doesn't it; very Hugh Grant?) Actually, I seem to have made a habit in recent times of greeting my daughter's new boyfriend and then her friends, inc. the new boyfr's brother, 'naked'. Well, half-naked! She should warn me when she's bringing people in.
Yup, it is a funny one!
I still need 2 T's from the top row, 1 from the 2nd row and 1 from the 3rd row
Haven'ts seen it fora while though.
Thanks, Stidmama. I guess you got my e-mails.
chompers missing a vowel and plural
My bunnies need me--bye.
If you are going to bring people into a house after midnight and not say so, you (and they) should expect to find surprised undressed people.
fact of life!
left T*** clyde...
i need a clue please for the th 4/6 and ya 4/8
and the ground material in a stadium (t words for Nef)
magzel - th4/ - MacDonald's drive-th**.
the TY church clue still eludes me any other help with?
then there's T**** or dare and plural
ya4/8 - plural cheering word.
oh and Nef don't forget the russian ruler
Lbd, you and my hubby must think alike; HE got your left T*** Clyde clue!
ronnie - the 10th part of income paid to Church word usually has an 'i' as the first vowel and an 'e' at the end.
LOL it's the first thing that came to mind! LOL
lbd - I loved those Clint Eastwood movies.
i'm not a big clint eastwood fan, but that one always made me laugh
okay, I have all of those T words but am still missing the 1 from the top; but I HAVE to move on!
I need H clues now
Please!?!?
okay. Which h words?
another word for deer, or "deep in the He*** of Texas"
2nd row and 3rd row; I need a total of 8 of them
(BTW, I'm not a movie fan but he is; so that might be why he got it)
got that H word
he 4/6 is printed right above between rankings and my account
a cabinet you put dishes in is called a H
top row t's: te**erball, plural, te** - rhymes with shortened tattoos, russian king
and the one that means what you are doing for me
Okay, about to start the story. I would like some input from my peanut gallery...
like the deer word but change the last letter
ha4/5 - barbs of a peacock or ostrich feather used to make fishing lures. Rhymes with surname of author Roald (James & The Giant Peach, The BFG etc.)
THANKS Leslie; I'm DONE with the T's! :D (it was the rhymes with tattoos)
ha*** makes waste, and change last letter
make Ha*** =to hurry
How many children should Peter (Gilly's eldest brother) and his wife have? And how old is their eldest and how old will their youngest be?
Stidmama - I am sitting quietly on the mat awating your story. ( hope you will be as patient when I post my travelog).
and then there's H**** pudding
and john cougar - hu*** so good
*awaiting
Stid, how old is Peter? how long have they been married?
got the pudding and fast
take the last letter off of the fast word
ha4 that sounds like an organ; then change last letter
I suggest three children, youngest is 3
evening everyone
Well, I figure Gilly must be at least 42, since her eldest is 25. and she was the youngest of the 7 children in her family... Peter was the second eldest boy.
Hi firefly
hello firefly
Peter should be 21.
Three children is a good number -- maybe youngest is 13... otherwise poor Helena (Peter's wife)!
and he got married when he was???
and h + the et4 you needed a clue for (and singular)
Sorry.
any other clue for the AS 6/21 besides shrewd?
Stid - I can't comment yet - have not read the sotry since last weekend; saving it up for next weekend.
I think men in this village married when they were AT LEAST 20 usually...
Peter's eldest could be 21. How old will the middle child be?
tu 4/5, th first one, with a fish please.
<whispers> Thanks I got the H's I'll work quietly now)
18?
Okay, Jacula, do you want a quick synopsis so you know sorta what's happening in the story today?
18 is a good number, lbd. thanks.
Never mind, I am blind.
as 6/21 as + what you do to a horn but spelled differently
Nef - I will clue you. Quietly also.
Peter and Helena have three children, ages 21, 18 and 13...
King T** or Left T*** clyde?
Good family size
Not if it holds your story-telling up, Stidmama.
Okay, and let's say Peter is about 49 years old, Helena is younger, about 44?
thanks kms
Okay
yw ronnielee
hey ronnielee!
That sounds good.
Stid, i wouldn't worry about the ages.
Hi everyone! 2 left-as6/21 & ly5/14. Any help much appreciated
lbd - ages are kinda important when you're working out storylines.
Jacula -- in the last few days of the story, we gave names to the characters. Adam and Ava are the grandparents who live next door, Cathy is the daughter who never married and lives with them. Gilly and Paul are the central figures in the story. Peter is Gilly's elder brother who operates the family farm. John is Gilly's eldest son and is visiting with his family.
Hi Eva and Merp.
what's this about a story?
This family is too big for me to remember their names and ages, will you publish a family tree?
eva, as...shrewd
as 6/21 as in tune as a fiddle, change second consonant.
Adama and Ava know that Paul is home. They haven't seen him yet. Peter and his family are coming to dinner --- they know something is "up" but not exactly what.
And Paul finally shaved off his shaggy beard.
thanks lb & stid!
ly+ what you hang on the walls in frames
*yes, I will put a family tree up at BabAnon*
ly 5/14. liar, change first vowel and add a consonant.
YAY!
hi Eva!
Eva - ly5/14 - untruth + drawing or painting.
Peter's wagon has just pulled up at the front gate.
great!
done! Thanks everyone! So can someone tell me about the sgtory telling? Stid-is this something you've written, or are making up as you go along?
inge - i love your icon!
Paul, John, and the twins have been in the back, looking at future projects.
uh oh...dunder in the air...best log off...see you after the flip
YAY Eva!
tr 5/14 please!
I make it up as I go along, the beginning 13 chapters are at BabAnon in the Other Interests section
Eva - go to BabAnon for the full story, stid is making it up as she goes along
later lbd...
That is how I write!
The sun sank a little lower in the sky, and a swallow cut through the air above the well. A breeze rippled through the hollyhocks along the fence and the tops of the fruit trees swayed.
Eva - the proper meaning, if you want to know it, of the ly5/14 is:Horse colours: Very small spots of white on a gray background, or vice versa, giving a silvery gray appearance. It's a word from Elizabethan times.
Peter pulled up to the gate, and helped Helena out while his children piled out the back of the wagon.
tr 5/14 please!
Andy ran up and gave his uncle a hug, practically bursting with excitement. Adam was right behind him, and hushed him as he greeted his daughter-in-law with a kiss.
did I miss the TY extra clue help, church clue earlier did not help thanks
firefly, it is one of my husbands watercolor bromeliads
the people in the cafeteria carry their food on tr***
stidmatt - i cannot tell a lie...so I tell the tr5/14
Ava waited on the porch, Sarah (the baby) in her lap and Olivia caught fast by her skirts.
inge - omg, that is amazing!!
Stidmama - I write like that, too; stream of consciousness stuff. But then I go back and edit it... which is probably why it takes me so long to do a 'proper' piece of writing these days. I do have to say, when I just wrote, I sold it straight off.
Fireworks YAY
*water bromeliads? must hear more about those sometime!*
The second one please.
YAY Tiny!
1 more A word? I have ar 4/6, as 4/7; as6/21

Helena straightened her skirt and shawl, and put a hand out to Ava as she came up the steps, a tight smile on her face and a question in her eyes.
See you, Ren, after you have eaten.x
Thanks Stid matt
ttoni, I need the second tr 5/14, not the first.
yw.
Ava met her gaze steadily and returned the smile with equanimity.
stidmatt - then it's what you carry food on in the cafeteria
2nd tr5/14 is tr*** or dare! Not a lie!
Thanks all and bye have to go into city
oh, oops, nope, i clued right the first time - what Jac said

Peter and Helena's brood dutifully trooped up the steps and kissed their grandmother, the eldest picking up Olivia and swinging her around. She giggled delightedly and grabbed on to his hair as he set her on his shoulders.

Snap, Inge!
sanp
a farmer uses a sc**** to cut grass change sc to a cross letter Ronnie
In the back, Paul heard the commotion and grew quiet. Otto and John headed up the lane to the road to get the horse and wagon, while Paul and Owain walked toward the back of the house.
snap, but did he get it"?
ok, i get the church clue - your 10% offering, different middle vowel
Owain looked at his father and smiled, "Surely you are not afraid to have dinner, Father?"
Hiya, Tiny. Stid's telling her story.
bye
Inge - dunno!
later Tiny!
'Bye, Tiny.
bye tiny!
Paul glanced at his hands and adjusted the buttons on his shirt. "Well, no," he replied, "But I am nervous about seeing your uncle and grandparents after all these years."
Tiny - if you want clues or even want to cht, please don't feel that you have to go away.
still can not get the TY clue, everyone gets a turn bonking me on the head if I ever get it
The story gets told, without any interruptionsm on BabaAnon.
He stopped and turned to Owain, "You weren't old enough for me to have left when I did -- and everyone knew it except me. I put you, your mother -- everyone through so much. And I am concerned that some will find it hard to forgive me."
The cat dashed up the back steps and waited impatiently at the door.
ronnielee - do a Google for "definite article" and pick the first link, that's what I did, and I got it!
The sounds of family greetings echoed around the side of the house.
good eveing to one and all -- don't have time to stay and chat --- getting to be time for bed But can I have some help with the first cu5 and the ly5, please?
Ronnie - try this! ty + th* cat sat on the mat.
Owain considered for a moment, then held open the door.
hi Woulf!
Hiya Wolfie.
Hey stid and Jac {*Hugs*}
"Father, I know things are going to be difficult. But you are home now, and that is what is important."
1st cu5 = drinking vessel plus Spanish word, i.e. e* Cordoba.

Cathy and Anna stepped out onto the front porch as Helena came up the steps, giving her hugs and exclaiming over her beautiful shawl.

now, now, ronnie -- we all have our brainfreeze moments -- tonight it was yours
no slaps for you, Ronnie. It's just a Babblonia thing.
brainfreeze, more like a total brainfart tonight
Helena turned slowly so they could admire it, and said, "Inga made this for my last birthday. Isn't it lovely?"
thanks again for the help
it all depends -- are you in an air conditioned room?
Ronnie - don't beat yourself up - it happens to us all.
well, and who is she???
Anna looked at her husband's 18-year old cousin appreciatively. Inga smiled self-consciously.
Inge - what??

no AC here, alot cooler, must be a brain thaw
We don't 'do' Ac here in UK, just room fans. LOL.
that must be it -- the break in the heat has you all messed up

Inga's collar and cuffs had lovely embroidery on them as well, done in the style of Helena's people. It was clear she had inheirited her mother's talent as well as her features.
so how about the ly5?
thanks again, greywoulf & jacula have a good nite
Gilly looked around the front room, resetting a flower in the vase. She hesitated, and Paul and Owain entered the room.
LY***MOB greywoulf
Owain winked at his father and smiled at his mother before stepping out to join the others.
ly5, Wolfie - 'hang!'
or LY *** + creative class in school
Gilly and Paul could hear the horse and wagon being led into the back, and listened a moment to the small talk.

Or barmaid 'Bet' in Coronation St. Or comedy and music man, Kenny.

Never mind.
Peter came up the steps, greeting his mother with a flourish and a bouquet. They burst into laughter -- it was a family joke, that flowers were for the living, so Peter made a point of bringing them to his mother every time he saw her.
stidMatt - if your mother does not approve of what you are doing, she tu**! LOL.
*If stidmatt's mother does not approve, she puts him on time out!!!!*
Gilly and Paul stepped through the front door while the laughter was strong.
If you are looking for a tu4/8, StidMatt, then ou need grass.
Keep out of this StidMama and just tu* in the background. LOL.
Helena noticed him first, and took a step back in surprise.
Also, don't wade in when I appear to be telling your son to smoke pot.
I am not.
I'l continue the poem in a bit. LOL.
Peter stood up and took a step forward, and look between shock and exultation in his eyes.

The dog came up on the porch with a stick in his mouth, wagging his tail hopefully.
I don't want to interupt the story, but could I ask for a few clues, please? We only have 4 words left. We're in need of ch5,18; ch5,16; ch6,33; and cu6,30 if you wouldn't mind.l
