WHEEE! fIREWORKS!!!
congrats jilli - now clue me on the infernal one - please.
hello jilli and jean and dianne!!
Ya - gotta think about how -- it's a legitimate word (no, that's not the clue)
You might say a lot of middle easterners feel en**** toward each other
en + glove + sometimes vowel ending
thank you both so much.
oh good - now I think I can go to bed before 2 am for a change! (it's 1:30) - lol

hi andree!
just lurking and trying to find the 8 and 9 like everyone else seems to have done lol!
do you want a definition?
not yet! I wanna find them on my own too LOL :)
Hi everyone, does anyone have a clue for the two et words?
:-) i know, that's why i asked.
don't have them yet pappou
thanks anyway, fran
i'm trying a new tack, I'll ask for clues early, today i only had 5 left at the flip, was really mad at myself
sounds like a good plan andree!
LOL, good thing I'm asleep at the flip or I'd be upset too
et words are gas and gase
gases
thanks andree!
thanks, andree, now I have to figure it out
evening all. I look straight at the grid and see a "w" word - not valid. Ah well. How's it going all
I'm not much of a cluer did you get that, the are in the grid a lot
hi ang! going great
didn't get it yet, but my brain is also half asleep, I'll figure it out
I think we all saw that word 1st up Ang
i got them right away andree, i was trying things all around them
wonk is a word though
et+chicken+vowel
But it's not totally wasted ...
now I got it, I was trying to spell it with a ane
and it does help with se5/12
What neat words tonite.
clue for wa6/36 please
naughty, naughty ragalla!
lol that's brilliant ragalla
andree, past tense of to be + if at first you don't succeed, ***, *** again
OK so there is this un 5/12. Why does it not plural?
not sure if i have the same one ang, but the S doesn't connect on mine
thx Fran, as usual I was headed inthe wrong direction
yw andree
It's my glasses. It's the un 5/14.
Trying to put off having them replaced. The glasses that is.
the S doesn't connect with that one either
clue for sy5/16 and ty5/16 please
don't have those yet andree
Ahh Fran. See, the glasses really need replacing. You are so right. OK I'll shut up now and disappear under my rock.
it's okay ang! automatically trying plurals is a good strategy, i miss so many of them
sy5/16 is 'fake', like the beginning of sy***etic fabric
ty5/16 is alt spelling of the custom of giving 10% of earnings to your church
good clue, fran. That was the sermon last Sunday, LOL
i went to my husband's grand-nephew's baptism and the sermon was about fundraising for the new church! sign of the times?
you really are the clue queen Fran
aw shucks andree! thanks. *blushing*
clue queen, please may I have a clue for he5, 16? if you have it
don't have that yet, give me a couple minutes
Morning all. Oh dear! The first 6 words I've found whilst writing out the grid have all been 'rude' ones.
he5/16 King He*** the 8th (?)
hi jacula
hi jac! quite a few 'rude' words today, eh?
thanks dianne!
good clue, fran
it's even a plural...2 for the price of 1
that he5/16 is interesting, it's a unit of electromagnetic force, who knew.
hello hello
hi lynxxx!
Hi lynxxx
hi lynxxx
do you have the second pi5, 12?
pi5/12, first three letters of the tree double the consonant and add another vowel
it's a leaflet or part of a compound leaf
ty, I was adding the wrong consonant
wrong vowel, I mean
yw pappou!
does the se8 build off the se5 right above it?
i don't have an se5 right above it yet, but it builds from the se4
yes Papp it does
Fran add a vowel to the se 4 above it
just got the se5, and yes it does as allstar said
is the 9 the plural
ty allstar
yes pappou
got it! ty to the both of you
cool pappou!
ur both welcome
the se8 is actually one of my favorite words
well, i have to stop with 21 left, time to get ready for school
morning, all.
ty for all the clues this morning
hi pam!
Hi and bye, pam
mornin Pam
Mine, too, fran. I use it in reference to the treatment of pets and companion animals...
bye pappou!!
bye, pappouted!
bye Papp
nice pam!
I write lots of letters to district attorneys seeking stiff sentences for the yahoos who abuse animals...
have you had results yet?
good for you Pam, I really hate when people get animals and neglect or abuse them. I treat mine like one of my children-probably better sometimes:)
I call him my baby
Just woke up and thought I would try a few and am stuck on en7/44, anu clues?
don't have it yet marc
naaah: I just know that the more folks that write, the more compelled the elected yahoos are to respond... And on cape cod, tthe recent killing of two dogs prompted a HUGE response that the District Attorney acknowledged
We'sll see a response when people take their own repsonsibilities seriously--that of owning and caring for a pet--
OK, I am off of my soap box...
wast
oooops. sorrrrry
en 7 I THINK is went you put a deceased person in the ground
no problem pam, you have a sympathetic audience here, it appears intelligence and taking care of animals goes hand in hand.
8-)
or you add 2 letters to the start of c 5/18
en7 is to de code
cr 5/18
cool, got it...thanks for the clues allstar and andree
got it from your clue, andree--nice one!
oh, and thanks, too, allstar!
sorry my 1st clue was off
allstar, your clue works too!
yw
a cr5/18 is where you bury someone
cryptic clues are good allstar
I got it from your clue straight away Allstar - TY
thought i was thinking of something else
Thx Allstar & Fran got it.
phantom--intern

ty + definite article (he's *** man)
sorry for repeat -had to refresh
wow thanks never would have gotten that on my own
yw allstar, it comes up every few puzzles if you see that clue again.
clue for th 7/32?
allstar, plural of th6/21
ya figured that but dont have that either :)
th6/21 is a substance derived from coffee, definite article + opp of out + another vowel
if you take that last vowel off, it gives you the th5/12
thanks got them all!
cool
half time break for me! and TY fran - know how you hate spelling out clues but you really started me off in that corner - got lots!

HI, WOLVIE! :)
Hi, everyone!
KISSES all around (except for you married people)\
Sorry to hear that KL
KL, are you an actual Laurel?
No. Kristina Laurel was a character that I played for many years in a Star Wars campaign
Oh, cool!
I am pretty much as Chinese as you can get. Though, I married a nice German with an unpronouncable and always misspelled name
bye all. have fun babbling.
LOL, now thats an interesting pairing
see ya charm!

Hooray cyber & nerky!!!
klaurel that is all I know lol I was in Chinese speaking countries (Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong and PRC) few times but really made little effort to learn
worry not, my German heritage uncle has been married to my aunt for more than 20 years and all he has learned is to curse
Hi again Evanout -- was busy finishing -- it was a great trip -- a few pics posted at Bab Anon - other interests
Well, at least he's learning something KL
true, lady
well I don't know how to curse in Chinese sorry
:)
ever wonder why the swear words are what most people learn first?
YAY nrk!
just stopping by to pick up a few more words. Hi all!
hi stid!
hi there - in college i did some research on people with language impaired by stroke. they often struggled with the simplest of sentences but could curse up a storm!
hi, stid.
YAY Nan!
guess we all have a lot of angher to let out
hello stidmama
any boston fans out there?
frustration is a great motivator -- I have some problems recalling words in speech much of the time (car accident), but surprisingly the cussin' never stalls! LOL
hi stiddy fizzy
hiya, stid!
*dork alarm - leave now if you must* curses and other expletives are stored in another part of your brain than regular words - like song lyrics. they get filed away whole so you don't have to think of how to put them together.
very true Fiz - my uncle had a stroke many years ago and still cannot hold his head up but can say the 'F' word clear as day!!
boston drivers? no. boston baked beans? yes. which boston, nrk?
sorry, but yankees just finished sweeping a 5-game series with boston red sox
how many words today?
ah! that explains why I can remember entire songs...
146
146 veeder
fiz, that's very interesting
i'm glad to hear that when my brain is fried i'll still be able to curse out the care takers who are wiping my bum
thanks!
hi fiz
hi wolvie! is that red skelton?
yepper!
i had one old lady i worked with - looked like a mild mannered granny, house decorated with country chicken motif - and when she got frustrated she made my ears burn!
Evan, at least you'll have that lol
okay, getting the list so I know what I am trying to find, LOL
Hiya Stid
NUTTY! such a good sister you are....hope my sister thinks i'm as funny....
bbl...
bye nrk!
Those are the fun ones Fiz
thanks fiz, but ren doesn't seem to think so if you read her bio
*dorky interlude over - return to normal babbling*
I always amaze the people who think I'm nice when I pull out some phrase from the Navy... (not often, but very effective when I do!)
later nrk!
Any clues for the in6 and in7? I'm at a loss
Stid, I didn't know you were in the Navy! Me too!
what you meant to do lady, and plural
Red was my other choice for icon, but went for Gracie and her sidekick... SHE was amazingly clever!
evening all
Tonto sleep in teepee - Lone Ranger sleep in6/18
lady - in6 means your reason for doing something - or what tor said! LOL
Thanks Wolvie
good one torgone
Good clue Torg lol
only briefly, ruined my knees and they sent me "home" -- oh well, such is the way they use 'em up and spit 'em out.
yw
lol, tor
Thats very true Stid
awww, {expletive of your choice here}, now i've got that village people song "in the navy" in my head....
I've been waiting all day to use that one ..
I just bet you have LOL
In the Navy, it's fun to sleep at the YMCA... *indian dancing in background*

hey all! lol at Torgone and tonto joke!
hi there lbd!
hi lbd
Heya lbd ..
gads, my neck is killing me. gonna take a break
bye kl
feel better klaurel. when my neck hurts i pretend there's a pencil coming out of my head and i'm drawing a spiral on the ceiling - then reverse spiral - helps all those little muscles loosen up.
Why isn't *nehi* a word?
yay! fireworks!
lol lady! such is the mystery of enable.
KL< use an ice pack
hey, anyone want to team up to kick some butt over at weboggle?
Very funny....I love the Lone Ranger and Tonto...always thought that mysterious black mask was hiding a hunk and it was......:)
hey hursh - speed ain't my game, but thanks!
pi5/16 please
Hursh, whats weboggle
it's ok fiz, you don't have to be fast, when it's a team effort, all that matters is if you happen to see a word i don't :)
weboggle is like this, you find words, but it's in 3 minute rounds.
pabtrek - righteousness - starts with a delicious baked good and ends in sometimes vowel
whats the website
hursh, where do you play?
thanks fiz
hurshy doesn't want to play with us ..
anyone else need a quick clue? then i've got to run to the post office.
hursh needs more stimulation than a mere 146 word grid - she's a speed demon!
hurshy is too fast for us
hey fiz
We're not worthy!!
the website is weboggle.shackworks.com, choose the 5x5 game and enter your name as Team Babble if you want to join me :)
any hints on the second pi5/12?
on my way!
Thanks Hursh, I"ll join you when I finish this grid
lady - plural of the trees.
Kind of like the drink -pi** colada
got it Torg, thanks
..with an extra letter..
woohoo i've got featherbee!
phew. couldn't clue that one - the dork was screaming "it's a biological term for the external ears, especially used for seals and sea lions!"
i try to keep my inner dork down to a low roar....
Fireworks!!! woo hoooo
YAY ypsi!
ah, so thats where the term pi***ped comes from
Can you help me with my outer dork?
i'll try it hurshy love the boardgame
hi hurshy!
YAY Fiz!
sorry, was off doing email there.
that's it lady!
congrates ypsi
i'm having a hard time seeing things with the different font! lol
ladynoire, If I had stayed in, I would have retired this last January... by getting injured I avoided the entire gulf and mideast problems of the last 20 years. Just barely...
i know what you mean feather
ooh so close, we're second!
I'll try my hand at giving a clue to anyone before I go ;)
Funny how life turns how, huh, Stid?
torgone i'm not the one to help you there. the outer dork is raging in full effect - i just try not to spout out latin names for things in mixed company.
Yay Ypsi!
LOL Fiz
Stid, you were in about the same time I was - 85 to 88
Where were you stationed?
oooh the sudoku is a medium today, I might not be able to handle that.. ha ha
never got stationed. A couple weeks from leaving boot camp... I watched my company leave and stayed in "med hold" another month until I was "stable" -- not that I could walk or work or anything...
wow, hursh, this last grid was a pain
oh, thats a shame ...
yeah, not a lot of words in this one
bummed me out majorly -- was looking forward to working as an aviation tech!
we won though!!
we rocked!!!
gotta go check on daniel...he's in his room, being waaaay too quiet
I bet - would have been fun
fireworks!
congrats wolvie
We were just a few days into basic, standing in line for breakfast, and our CCs got all agitated. They were watching as Challenger blew up. We were devastated when we heard the news.
aww! he's sitting in front of his bookshelf, pulling down books to look at
YAY Wolvie!
Any help with the se's?
oh, that is so sweet! my kids used to do that...
whew - those h's drove me nuts - it's always the simple ones. ;-)
what was your MOS lady?
which ones lady?
Stid! You were there the same day I was - I ws in the parking lot of the commisary watching the Challenger blow up at NAS Orlando
I was a basic seaman, did OJT for hospital corpman after I got to my shio
ship
oh wow - I was working in AZ when that happened - remember it still...
Wolve, most of the latter ones, I have the first three and the se8/40
that must have been interesting -- OJT like that. Pretty intense, I imagine!
It was fun, actually
woohoo, we are kicking butt!!! join the winning team :)
how many babblers are playing?
se 5/10, first one - like the he tint, only an s to start
that was fun, feather and hursh! but i've gotta run now. have a great morning, afternoon, or evening everyone!
what's the link again hurshy?
se 5/12, sorta goes with annie's c word, lol
got it Wolvie
later Fiz!
se 4/5 - half
got that one, too
got both of those, lol
se6/18: braided
well gee - maybe you have the se's! ;-)
braided?
as in cordage
nope, not all
can you give me anotehr clue on that one?
weboggle.shackworks.com
put in your name as Team Babble
okay, so se/6/18 use se plus double consonant, plus initials for computer guru stuff, or say "that's **!!
we won again! :) :) go team babble!
ah, gotcha
lady, I just got it: se +double cons + pronoun
We're kicking butt ..
do you have the last 2 se 5/10's?
i knew we would, that is why i came to recruit :)
nope, nor the se9
We broke it ..
se 9 is the plural of se 8
While you'e on the se's how about the 8 & 9 please.
also missing the se4 after the *half* se4
sometimes it is weird between games, it says it will be starting and then it doesn't, and counts down again
like now for instance.
are you going to play ata??? :) :) put in the sciency ones if you do! :)
se 5/10 's: both are se 4/4 just above - one ends with second vowel, the other third vowel
lol, meanwhile, daniel has my whistle on my keychain, and is driving the cat bonkers. blowing the whistle about 3 inches from her head.
in a sec :)
she is NOT amused.
poor kitty
I really think we broke it ...
se 4 after the half, is se 4/4 after the 6 I gave you, but instead of ending in t, it ends in second vowel
nah, it happens all the time, tor
oh, i have a new game starting soon it looks like
lol, or not...
it's not a super-dependable site
poor kitty...
mine's saying NaN now
well, i still have 91 words to do here.
betty - se 8 & 9 - thinking being then the plural
where do they find these weird words
did those help you out lady??
Thank you muchly, Wolvie!!!
Lady - I wish I knew. I really tear my hair out some days. ;-)
Now I can take a break and go potty!
yw -
Can someone help me with te6/21? :)
well, let's make it a standing thing, anytime anyone feels like playing, make your name Team Babble, and hopefully others will be around. the more people we get on board with it, the more we'll win!
think of bowling, wordsrock
well, need to lie down again for a while. Later, folks!
bye stid!
Thanks, Wolvie. I should have seen that one.
yw - anymore before I sign off?
How about wa6/46?
er.. 42. :)
thank you wolvie! the s8&9 and the te6 whew! only 31 left
that is like aw 7/60, just leave off the a
Thanks Wolvie but I'm dense. Still not getting it.
way to go, lb - see you all later!
Thanks again, Wolvie, you've been a big help. Later!

I've been doing the webboggle -- is someone in there helping me?
we're playing together, whoever wants to play, just pick the 5x5 and put in your name as Team Babble
I can't be doing this well on my own!
i think there are several stid :)
i can't cheat on dr. god like that!
nutter
chjer!

hey chj
rennie
Any hints on the st6?
jeez chj - good enthusiasm there ren, i wasn't going through, i was perusing
I feel like I have entered every possible letter combination for wa6/36... any hints?
lady, it's what you call a car crash in a movie with a consenant added in middle.
so nut - you perused through a lock?
it's not cheating, doc has just one puzzle a day, this site has one every 3 mins
good. I need to leave, but it is fun!!!! see you all later.
it's completely different :)
bye stid
urf, that's too annoying. entering words adn then not having them count because they were out of time
go Team Babble!!!
once again team babble dominates
Thanks Athos... aren't you missing two of your felllows?
i think i would feel...dirty
st6= what your Mom always said would happen to your growth if you ate too much ____ with an extra letter after the "t".
Yes , they abandoned me.
I think you may be gone Wolvie but I finally got it. How dense can one be. Thanks!
rennie - i've always had a way with those things
shame on them lol
ooh what a icky one

3 mins, ata
3 minutes...
we win again, we win again :)
i love team babble :)
I used to think I was well read and well educated until I started playing this game lol
Finally, I finished. :)
urf, I only see about 1minute of them
Whew! Sitting down for a few minutes. Hi everyone!
that used to happen to me ata, i don't know what the deal is
Steve S is doing pretty well...
yeah, playing by hisself too!
sorry, that site is fun, but its impossible to work from here ... I don't see the board and then most of my words are discarded as being added in after the end of the grid
clue for an5/10?
Ah, a measly 146!
Only one word to go, that awful wa6 !!!
hot, hot, hot...
i love consistently kicking butt.
Hi all, anyone have a clue for the 6/36 or the wh 4/11 please
lady, singular for were, plus to take a stab at

woohoo lady!
must be an old English word for something
wa 6/36 PLEASE!
phantom typing
Woo Hoo!
Button, look at the clues below
Well gang, its almost that time

She came to me said she knew me Said she'd known me a long time And she talked of being in love With every mountain she had climbed And she talked of trails she'd walked up Far above the timberline From that night on I knew I'd write songs For Carolina in the *****.
wa 6/36 = it's wa 4/8 nut t"RY" adding two letters to the end.
majmom, I can't see how you get the plural of that word?
I just want to add... I think the team called 'Stalinists for Bush' deserve to win...
DONE...anyone need a clue/?
woohoo ouwachita!
en6?
i'm still clueless
et6 & et7 please
ty athos got it
I seriously question the integrity/competence of the editors of the Enable dictionary, when they include such words as "jewed" used as a verb, and today's charming entry (cu4/5 & 5/14), and, as an online resource, do not include the word "internet". Considering emailing Dr_god...
et's are a variation of a type of gas
et + female chicken + vowel (et6)
et7 is plural
en6...en + first name of a cartoon mouse
Thanks so much Judy. That's it for me.
try the T on the left
Ouwachita--thanks to you too.
yw bettyanne. thx ouwachita
majmom, i was trying to plural the wrong word, thanks!

Macbeth ran into three ****
welcome
cu6/30 please!

ga7 = sounds like what you say before going to bed.
boys
gannite
nope, i tried that to majmom
too*
close but change the third letter (3rd letter silent)
3rd letter is wrong
sorry
ah, thanks!
Ah, what happened?
It's the exclamation ga*! + the dark thing that appears after the sun goes down
ok, 50 left, off to do dinner
got it now-will be more careful
thx majmom & hurshy!
In Charlotte's Web, Wilbur was going to be killed because he was a ****
bad influence?
pig?
But Fern Arable considered the killing of Wilbur to be an act of gross injustice...
He wasn't a bad influence. He was a pig, but that wasn't why he was going to be killed at that time...
I do know that, I was being funny...or trying to be...
ooh some nasty team has come in, we have to beat them!
i thought it was funny lib!
help for he5/16 & he6/27?
you wouldn't be talking about the stalinist for bush would you hursh
raelite, I got it! it was funny
I was going to try and be funny and say "'bad influence' doesn't have just four letters, hmm?" but I decided against it...or maybe I didn't...
lmj it's a man's name + plural
TW pabtrek!
thanks
An image of the martyred son of the late Nancy Hanks
no pabtrek i was talking about the team that beat us :)
we return to domination!
I don't think it's right that "C U Next Tuesday" should be in the puzzle, either.
Or the plural...
I agree!
I'm having a major brain blockage on the Hs today
we should petition! as polite babblers, we should not stand for such inappropriate language!
some he's - boy's name and pl
ah
oh NOW i am annoyed with stalinists.
ha is also a guy's name
i thought only team whatever could be teams but i think that is a team, hmm

even if we're not first, we're doing consistently well.

refresh andy, but i think a new one isn't going yet
yes hurshy bit I think team like us ought to win all the time no?
back to problems
well andy, depends how many of us are on and not having malfunctions :)
en6 is what you have when you hate someone.
lmj643- add mi 4/7
Im, en6/27 is another word for animosity
i'm afraid at 3 AM or something we won't win cause nobody will be around :)
thanks Old hat, athos, got fireworks now!
Friendship with the world is en6/27 against God, or so sez the book of James...
*twiddles thumbs*

he5/14 already have the plural of the blood one
bye nut
wh clue please
sometimes i feel like anut, sometimes i dont
peri - he5/14 - bottom of skirt + opposite of 'out'.
knitter, to question
aknitter - wh4 = plural questions.
thanks Jac, just monkeyed that right before I saw your clue
jac...who are your comedians
*must focus* *must ignore smutty log*
ty jac
I am stuck in the H words
Hi feather. Log's only smutty 'cos grid is!
it's probably a fish but I can't find the sy5
he5/12
hey cj
Hi Feathe!
lol, wow, and that he word...if it had a Y instead of E....
I mean, all we Babblers are clean-living, clean-minded, upright people. Right?
hey chj!
Don't go there feather. LOL
Hi feather!
thats a pretty smutty robin williams picture feather
kristin shortened form of a VD
;)
lol! you
you're the first person all day who commented!
now theyre talking about vd...this grid has sunk to new lows
its my job
I have that one...a sy4 right? I need the 5
OMG! I just really looked at it, Feather. ROFL
kristinc - what Cynthia's friends might call her? Failing that, try the first 5 letters of a word for something like nylon, i.e. not a natural fabric.
he5/21 please
last wa please
not like my comedian...good clean pie throwing
I meant he5/12
heeheehee...i've been waiting all day for someone to notice!
got it...thanks jax
lol feather that is too funny!
come on, chj. We know Soupy had a dirty mind!
Feather - is that pic from his 'Photo' film? That was truly creepy, especially when he used their loo.
glad to make your day feather
it was from a "get caught reading" poster somewhere! it was on the 28th page or so of my image search...literally the last image i looked at, and cracked me up
Peri, a type of dye
your right cj...he got throw off several times for telling off-color jokes
Unfortunately, I was too young at the time to notice anything from the pie throwing and Fang.
peri - he5/12 - a red hair dye.
lb, thanks
one of the greatest thrills of my life was in 1984 on the opening day of the summer olympics...i was staying at the beverly hills hotel...relaxing by the pool next to soupy sales
pookie
whitefang and black tooth
last he5/12 please
and his girlfriend, peaches...of course played by soupy in drag
Hi all!
Hi all!
White Fang!!! Did you converse with him, chj?
plural of the one above peri
a little
peri - plural of the he4 before it.
what is the theme? And I love Soupy, LOL
Hi Pam!
pam - the theme is 'comedians'.
he was with goodson of goodson and todman
hey pam
hi pam...lots of comedians in the log too!
Sorry, not heard of Soupy, being from UK and all that.
Ahhhh... where is Totie Fields, then?
Jacula, thanks I know I tried that earlier and it was not accepted
Yes, a ton of comics here!
peri, y/w.
Not sure aknitter would agree, pam!
brb must icing cupcakes! *hates to leave; she might miss something*
oh? Jac?
Thanks goodness, the H's are done
soupy came to mind because of the pie throwing in the chat log the other day
but still 36 left to find
Well, I couldn't help it if I got a fit of the giggles, neither could the rest...
I can understand that, chj!
too bad the yankees/sox series wasn't SNL and not reality sports
jac who is your comedian...i cant make out the picture
FranMag came in and said, 'Hello' and then aknitter typed in the cu4 word! Oh Lord! Just telling you has started me off giggling again.
MMMPHFF... sorry!
and I'm done...time for dinner bye all...thanksf for the laugh!
roflmao!!!!!!
boo hooo hoo pam...5 game sweep...at fenway
congrats, kristin
need help for the wh word please
yeah, one could call it a debacle
WTG kristinc
chj - my icon is of Morcombe & Wise.
you know, it's that old saw, chj--I am a ______ fan and anyone who beats the Yankees
dont know them
chj - you should look them up. Great old British double act.
are they better than peter cook and dudley moore
wh - plural of a question word
They don't swear like Cook & Moore, chj.
it looks like the sox will have to try for the wild card
Thanks, Stephie
peri - wh word is plural questions. If someone does something you don't understand, you may ask, 'Wh*?'
i guess the routines we got here in the states were sanitized
chj--one can only hope....
i loved the bit they did about the one-legged actor applying for the role of tarzan
chj - they must have been, if yu're talking about Peter Cooke & Dud Moore. The 'f' word was prevalent!
missing a wa4/8 have the plural of very pale
YW!
thou dost--the w*** rhymes with the dost...
thanks pam
Yes, chj, the old shows were great. It was the later shows, and the tapes and lp's that came out with all the 'f' words in them that offended me. I don't mind anyone swearing if it's justified, do the same myself. But when certain words are used, unconsciously (or for effect) or even for punctuation, then I don't find it funny. Hence me not ever finding UK comedian Bernard Manning remotely funny.
sure, peri!
You know, scattering 'f' words around a joke does NOT make it any funnier than telling it straight.
i agree
po5/16 please
meaant pi5/16 I am getting tired of sitting in one place
i dont ever remember monty python using the f word
NM foun dit
pi4/7
evening all, I am stuck on the en 7 any clues pls.

ty jac
hi everyone!
Erda - it's a mineral stone. Try this though: anagram of a 3-leeter word for an old witch + short spelling for the time of darkness after the sun goes down.
Hi Annie.
hi annie
hi, annie
cool clue, jac!
anyone have the pi 5.16 that peri did not need a clue for?
thanks
Pam, to be holy
pi 5. saintliness, holiness
Thank you, Jacula! Worked like a dream!!
y/w, Erda.
what the fudge!
thanks, lbd
i thought i was close to done, stupid fudging thing
en7/44 maybe??? Please?
chj - re Monty Python: no, I don't think they ever did or needed to.
hi nut!
Erda - en7/44 - to put into code. (Or mayve to put a body into a mausoleum?)
erda en + rhymes with the candle dri***D wax
hi annnie, howdy doody?
Jac, I saw Spamalot this winter and I am still laughing.
i can't sit through monty python
Glad you liked it, Annie. See the rest!
now how come nobody picked buffalo bob as their comedian?
Life of Bryan KILLED me
who the heck is buffalo bob? i should have taken larry the cable guy.
i never thought buffalo bob as a comedian.
buffalo bob smith, the host of howdy doody
pam - 'He is NOT the Messiah, he is a VERY NAUGHTY BOY!' 'I was blind, but now I can see!' *CRASH*
*offers jac a hand up*
Jac----ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!
Bawabas....
pam - 'I haven't spoken for 40 years! And then you trod on my toe!'
did you know that bob kesham, cpt kangaroo, was the original clarbelle the clown on howdy doody
I wish I could hold on to dialog like that, jac
i never saw howdy doody
Finally got the en7 word; took me forever, but some days one just doesn't see 'em...And I already had the cr word, too.....Thank you!
pam - that dialogue in engrained in the UK thinking folks.
yes, i knew that bit of trivia chj.
oh, jac! Did not know that
I know that UK and US humour doesn't always meet at the edges though.
Having said that, the US is making far better comedy shows on TV than anything coming out of the oh-so-PC UK at present.
True, Jac--but I like the UK stuff
nut youve led a depraved...er i mean deprived life
Yay -- long live Jon Stewart!!!
gimme depraved over deprived any day!
meaning the humor
no chj, you had it right the first time
Agreed on the current state...
rofl
roffl
i'm depraved, i admit it whole fudging heartedly
There was an article from a shriLakan resient, a newsreader in UK, in my paper earlier. He said, basically, that the PC brigade, with their OVER-multiculturalism have created a far more racist environment than ever would have existed if the the differences had not been embraced. I agree with him.
hints please for he 5/16 and 6/27?
he5 = common man's name, which doubles as a unit of something-or-other, plus its plural
I couldn't type ShriLankan expat, but I coud type multiculturalism??? What gives here? LOL.
erda--nice clues, thanks!
unit of reluctance, that's what
yw pam
Okay, I'll get off my soapbox and give clues now...
me again, what the heck is the ke 4/8 have the one that reminds me of corn on the cob
sheryl--Barbie's mate, pl
got that one, whats the other
and superman's last name
ah didn't have that one, duh
the cigarettes?
i hate mondays lol
sheryl, change last letter to next one in alphabet
did we win? i can't see the new scores
ke4/8 - plural Barbie's boyfriend. (Really is a Scottish word for 'understands'.) ke4/8 - Southern county of thr UK where Leeds Castle is, LOL.
hurshy <3 Leeds Castle!
yankees rule!!!!
annie, you may have misunderstood my question
All I can say here is, RULE BRITTANIA! LOL.
i'm talking about team babble on weboggle
Boo NY--Wait 'til next year!!! (spoken like a true Red Sox fan)
hurshy, it was not in response to your question....just felt like doing it! lol
Oh, was that yanks, or Yankees? Did I misunderstand?!
there's a team babble on weboggle?
lol
yes i started it today ping! :) :)
hi, ping
Hi hursh. Just noticed you are here. How did you get your comprehensive guide to Europe up so quickly? I'm still struggling to write mine, amidf family commitments...
mom, to clear it up, the baseball team.
see my post on babanon
Hi Ping
i wrote it as i went along jac, just had to type it up.
hi annie!
ugh i am having weboggle trouble agian
hi Ping
hi pam!
hurshy, i've never understood the teams on weboggle
hi there, LB!
How do I get into TeamBabble? I play on there as LoveBabble, Babblebest etc., plus my usual names/
weboggle.shackworks.com, 5x5, Team Babble
Thanks for clearing that up for me, Annie, tho' I'm still in the pits after the weekend :( But as a Sox fan, I'm into the pain!
just enter Team Babble as your name
Back to Babble! The cupcakes are iced and the garden is watered. Whew! 18 to go.
Ys, Hursh. But how do you join the team and how does it work re posting?
all you have to do to join the team is put that as your name, it figures out all the words we get together.
assuming i can ever get the site working again...
it knows to count everyone called "Team Babble" together
of course it doesn't count the words we get more than once
Hursh - I figured you had done that(writing it as you went along). I did try to do so, but either gottt strange looks whilst trying to do so, was up to late to do so, was just off experiencing...
i was on trains a lot, jac
and it was 5 weeks - i didn't want to risk forgetting anything
Ah, hurshy. A great environment for reflection and writing. Lucky you.
I WILL get my travelog on asap.
argh! WHEN will there be a new board?
Trouble is, everything I've written so far makes me sound like a whinging POM (as the Aussies would say). It's black humour, a feel of the place, but far more about the people than the place. Will that make good reading, I ask myself/
hey everyone !

What could the editors of the Enable dictionary be thinkng (if they are)? As an online resource they exclude the word "internet" yet include such vulgarities as cu4/6 & 5/14, and the appalling "jewed"? Considering emailing Dr_god, but don't know if he has any say...
hmm...team babble has dwindled

I really would NOT like to be Jamie, aka Dr_God right now (or at any time really). he set up a great word-finding site. He finds the most 'easy' dictionary he can for it. But still the punters are not satisfied. He pops his head up a time or two, or three, when the site is troubled, and gets tenfold troubles! Jamie, lad, you deserver a medal!
the tile gods smiled upon me
yes, please Jacula referring to your lovely offer of 8:42 pm game time.... LOL

hi stid

what's your email cio?
ET 6 & 7?
can you tell i'm tired?
Didn't say I was offended by the words, just the use of some while others aren't allowed. Maybe Dr. God needs to broaden allowable sources, etc.
Am I mising something here, since going for a comfort break?
No, I am NOT okay. And I am fussy, and I am cranky. I feel yucky. Pretty sure it's a reaction to the migraine medicine I took yesterday, but have not gotten any better. *fuss, fuss*
I am not "knowing" SE....help me out stidmama....I'm not knowing....what you are talking about.
*looks around to see if she's getting sympathy*

ty hi
oooh sorry, don't want to ruin chocolate for you...wait until you feel better.
Or would youy like someone else to take it up? I think NOT! It will keep...
I only took it yesterday -- worked on the migraine. Sent a note to the doc by email as soon as I was able to sit up. I will probably call him tomorrow anyway.

Hope you feel better Stid!
hi chj

But I don't know until I tell it, Jacula! I am pre-programming my dreams, you know! LOL
chocolate has caffeine which can trigger a headache
hi there hey there
it's okay, NO CHOCOLATE (or coffee or food) today.
anyone got the te6 and the en6??
THanks. Got them. 10 words left to find.
Chocolate and cheese are the best known triggers for migraines.
Hope you're feeling better tomorrow, Stid.
*takes back tea, offers hot water bottle?*
stid would toast or rice be okay?
go Minski go!
actually, caffeine is a component in many migraine med
and red wine, jac
en 6 = hatred

omg chj- soupy is one my most treasured memories from childhood. i loved him so much i was convinced he was my uncle!

te 6 = bowling type
thanks.
Yes, Ping. Thank god I drink white wine!
there is a different chemical in chocolate that triggers migraines in some sufferers
you are blessed, jac!
yes, i'll often have a coke when i have a migraine to try to ease it
hithere! you got me down to 20 words... :-)
youre dating yourself Is 1
woohoo for team babble!
And migraines for me are usually caused by bright or flashing lights, or loud or repetitive noises at certain pitches.
i was going to say.. caffeine helps my migraines most of the time
23 here stid, but can't race and scrabble at the same time
i know - is today's theme comics?

I know how strong the urge to tell a story is... Stid... type or c&P.
Jacula, stop trying to stop stidmama from what she wants and must do, namely tell us what happens to Paul
hellOO, chj!

The only word I'm missing now is the EN6/27 and I need another hint besides the one that was given not long ago because that didn't help me.....Please!
Jacula, no one is attacking anyone here. And if they do, they will get .... (drumroll) the "MAMA" look (patent pending)!
Into the forest, stid!
ch, they played off each other so brilliantly that it is hard to say, do you have a favored one?
does anyone know un 5/14 or 5/12?
Minski another way of saying to bury abody
ooooh, not the inverted eyebrow "mama" look!
en + walter ***t*
en6/27 = hatred -- not firendship but en****
(Oh, and re the looks, I wonder if your disappriving Mama lok beats mine? LOL!)
grrr
en + danny kaye played walter ***** then drop the double letter to a single
As Steven Sondheim wrote in one of my favorite musicals, "Into the woods and through the trees to where I am expected... The way is clear, the path is good, I have no fear nor no one should. The woods are just trees, the trees are just wood..."
we won but the site was screwing with me
I have been waiting MONTHS to find a way to put that in the log!!! *grin*

Paul shrugged and stood up to move the lamp closer. Gilly waited patiently for his reply, anchoring the thread near the hole and starting to weave methodically back and forth.
I liked that clue, Eva!
Hi LA and Eva
feather - if you're stilll listening - i'm at 12!
hi, alll.
He looked quickly out the window and closed the shutters, then drew the curtains back.
Gilly made a funny sound and stuck her finger in her mouth.

good nite judy :)
good night judy

WELL DONE, JUDY!

Gilly pulled her hands away and picked up her mending again. "You must have felt very alone."
