Hi MVA
And the one and only time I immediately think of the stupidhead babblet 'sris', it is a phantom word.
yee haw I got the av 8
WTG Blaze! I just found a 7 that uses 4 Ss :)
Is this a hard grid or am I just particularly dull today?
It is not going smooth over here. And 'issit' is SO a word. It isn't out of use, issit?
Morning Not as easy as it first looked but at least it is a manageable size today (havent played in 3 days)!
I don't know how many times I've tried ASSESS.
Me too. Hi FMitch :)
The size is a relief FMitch. If it had been another big one I don't think I would have started.
rest
Yesterdays
Oops. So sorry.
Sorry about that. Yesterday's went way faster than this one!
Yes! It did.
Hi sprite did you and the family have a good holiday?
Ive made it past the 1/2 way mark so far but have reached the wall
We had a great time, FMitch! Lots of things for the kids to do, hubby could canoe as much as he liked, nature was wonderful overthere, wine was good :) Thanks for asking!
where is every one from?
Sounds perfect sprite siku - our flags will give you a clue if you hold your curor over them
oh thanks.
Hm... mouse-over doesn't do a thing here with the flags. But if you click on the profiles, there is more info.
blah, too lazy to check all them out.
Hey everyone, I just started tonight. This is too addictive.
Oh oh, another addict coming on! Welcome, elisa8eth. You are right, it is addictive.
eliza you bet it is... join in the fun
Found the az4 & 5 conbo - thnk the Lion from The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe but loose a letter
Hi Blaze :)
thanks fmitch
question: the word stats are how many words there are with that number of letters, right? What are the repeat letters in the tile stats? One of my s's is 5/5 and one is 0/0?
hello all
hello taz
the tile stats -- that is how many words begin with that tile.... no s words off that one S
hey tazpink. eliza: the stats correspond with the tiles in the grid. So from the S-tile with 5/5 start 5 words, you found them all. From the other S-tile with 0/0 doesn't start a single word. First digit is how many words start there, last is how many you have found.
blaze and sprite howdy
well the cable signal is all screwed up and the household is running amok.... I will keep babbling to protect myself... all hail cable.
hi tazpink
Oh! It matches up with the grid! duh
Your icon fits your nick, taz :)
Hail Blaze's cable!
hiya mva
yes sprite glad to have figured out how to get one
I really think I should just really get them and cut the darn thing off.
It's sweet, taz!

I did? Oh dear... soooo sorry! *starts checking her post urgently to find that word*
Oohhh... found it! Sorry, didn't have it yet, how can I be so blind... :)
LOL
Blaze... "And cut the darn thing off"??? Sounds errrr... a bit drastic... ;)
sprite can you repeat that word? lol
I just cot the sc 8 tra la....
It was in my post to you about your sweet doggie, taz ;)
I would only cut the cable off as a vengance... although I would surely pay the price....
WTG Blaze! Any clue to go with that?
ty
sprite .... much like the cutting thing used in sewing
Thanks Blaze Quite a few of the larger words end up in the top left hand corner
*starts cutting up the grid to get that R in the right place* Thanks Blaze, that will help :)
sprite.... NO R
Found it! Thanks again, lol.
thanks blaze!

you pick the flavor you want and they mix it with whatever you want on a marble slab
double yum!
You guys are killing me. Pizza, ice cream, and I just had breakfast!
really tasty stuff there
marble = cold stone
i know so rich and creamy
i keep looking for antidote
Would be a great babble clue!
coldstone is good, but I work at a midwest univ with a HUGE dairy school. they make their own ice cream. I've never had better.
sadly that's not what we had
send some over, marble slab and all please!
reiman who???
any clue for the is5 please?

there is a marble slab creamery too

i used to play poker once a month with a group of friends
hokey pokey! the best!
sleep would be good... can't move from the tiredness
neat fran
i play occ i also play scrabble every week
Okay, my last S-word was the first Si4/4. I am either too good to be true or I am in denial.
the di7 includes the sa4 meaning to rescue
it was more of an excuse to get together though, half the people just hung around, while the others played
"Do the hokey pokey"... thought that was a kind of dance?
tytyt nrp
it is sprite... it is also the best icecream in the whole world!!
its also honeycomb icecream down under
Emigration is starting to look good.
judging by the horns sprite, i'd say you were in denial
and as mrp says, the best icecream ever!
Am afraid you are right, Fran :)
too right atalante!!
:-)
Agreed, guys, hokey pokey is awesome. :D
what do they call it in America?? that sounds good, is it like violet crumble candy?
hello Jen! :)
hiya, Mr P. ^^
How come the best ice cream in the world isn't available in Holland???
get some gooey honeycomb sprite and mash into ice-cream!
it has vanilla and honeycomb and caramel flavours! It is just too good!
yum!
*switches from towel to sheet to keep keyboard dry*
ooh, that should be a mix-in at cold stone
how can they not have it in holland!! OMG you are all so deprived!!
Aha! Fireworks!
I will send you the recipe sprite... give it to the spritets... they will love it!!
we don't really have it here either :(
Oh please do, mrP! They will love it! So will I! :)
recipe? PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yay sprite!!!!
wow sprite nice
Bring sugar and golden syrup to the boil slowly in a large heavey saucepan, stirring all the time as it will burn easily. After it starts to foam up, simmer gently over a very low heat for 4 minutes, stirring occasionally and still watching it carefully. Remove from heat and add baking soda quickly until it foams up and pour at once into a greased pan or onto a piece of aluminium foil with the edges turned up. Break it into bits when cold and store in air-tight jars. Be sure to save all the crumbles so that you can top your ice cream with them to make Hokey Pokey Ice-cream.
BTW Fran, I love your quilt!
thanks sprite!
5 tbs sugar 2 tbs golden syrup (must use this!!, not corn syrup) 1 tsp bicarb of soda
And then you just throw it over vanilla ice cream, mrP?
yes sprite!! stir it through and add caramel for a twist!!
throw it over and mix in it!
and remember to use a *big* pan, because the stuff expands like mad while being made
YUM!!! *dances off the the freezer to plough head into hokey pokey*
Great mrP! What is tbs? tsp is teaspoon, I think? And golden syrup... what exactly is that?
too right atalante... you need the bigass pan!
tbs = tablespoon
tablespoon
tsp is teaspoon, tbs is tablespoon
golden syrup is .. golden syrup lol. um. *thinks*
you can find golden syrup in specialty shops... it is really thick sweet syrup that goes on anything!!! truly a beautiful syrup
do you have cane syrup?
In Holland we have maple syrup, sugar syrup...
mrp, that's what's in a violet crumble candy bar isn't it?
yes, it is similar!!
maple syrup would do
yes it would atalante...
http://www.britshoppe.com/lylgolsyr.ht ml
We have cane syrup. That is no specialty here, it goes over pancakes.
alternatively, for a quick fix ... smash up a violet crumble, stir it through the icecream and get busy!!
just what i was thinking mrp!
golden syrup isn't a specialty here, either! Cane syrup would work, maple syrup would work, and I can always send you some *proper* golden syrup over if you can't find it anywhere!
BUT.... the recipe is the best way to go!! no substitute for yum factor in making it!!
I can send you some too sprite! just let us know!
we need a babble warehouse for food swaps from around the world!
You guys are the best! I am checking out the link Ata posted.
this goes way way back but my very favorite childhood food was steamed suet dumplings with golden syrup drizzled over the top!
yum!!
golden syrup sandwiches. perfect
yum! that sounds good!
golden syrup on strawberries with marscapone!
Found it! Not like molasses, so not the same as we have here. I am going to find out if there is a dutch name for it.
ve 40 or do 7.36 please
a triple taste sensation !
just golden syrup. on its own. mmmm!
*drool* *slobber* *slurp*
never mind ve 40
need the do 7
would some-one put a bib on that child!
taz, take the first do4, add ending and plural for a pannier
what is a pannier?
Yeah! It is available in dutch shops, guys. It is called candy syrup (kandijsiroop) or just plain golden syrup, lol (goudstroop). I will go there tomorrow, get me the ingredients and start having a party!
actually, sprite, ice cream with slightly gooey bits of stroopwafel in would be *similar* in taste
a carry basket thingy
yay sprite!! you will LOVE it!!
yay for golden syrup!
argh Ata... now what I am going to use to keep from drooling on my keyboard! Both towel and sheet failed already!
he he sorry! that one just occurred to me!
yaaaaaay!!! *drool* we both need a bib sprite!
There is something to say for being a small country. We have the actual Lyle golden syrop in the shops!
do 7 eludes me and my monkey
oh good! that really is the best sort!
taz, do you have To6/18 - 7/28? It is almost similar.
no i do not sprite
you'll have great fun making it - its one of those recipes that seems like magic - put a few bits in a pan and *poof* it expands and fizzes madly and turns into honeycomb!
My kids will have a ball! So will I for that matter, lol. I have this huge pan, I use it for soups. I think that will do.
For the TO combo, think people that keep turning over in bed, taz.
they'll love it! it was a highlight of my childhood watching mum make it :)
I'll make sure I will tell you guys about the Hokey Pokey Experience in the Sprite residence shortly!
only to i see is the basic 4 letter one srpite
to really go to town on this recipe, make some toffee and stir that through too
Taz: make it into someone doing it. Then pluralize. For the Do: change first letter.
oh my mrp ....!
taz, add the ending (er) hint hint :)
and errrr.... do you have a recipe for that toffee too?
o tytyt both i was adding ar
Atalante, I am truly sick!! ;)
I will get it for you sprite... brb
not seeing straight ty for the tips and laughs goodnight
or even dulce de leche, but that might just be slightly over the top lol. dulce de leche just stirred through ice cream is equally perfect though
2 cups sugar Three quarters cup cold water 1 tablespoon brown vinegar Sprinkles (optional) Place all ingredients in saucepan. Stir over heat till sugar dissolves. Bring to boil – do not stir. Cook till syrup is golden brown. Remove from heat and allow bubbles to settle. Pour into small patty cake papers. If desired, decorate with sprinkles.
Okay, help me out here, what is dulce de leche? If I am going for sick, I wanna go the whole mile. MrP, you are the best! Thanks :D
I agree, taz, it is really fun today!
easy dulce de leche is basically boiled up condensed milk
spread it on some baking paper on your kitchen bench, let it set and then crack it up into little pieces and stir it through the icecream!
http://www.dulcedeleche.co.uk/dulce_de _leche.html
and all that lot should keep the Spritelets on a sugar high for months!
sick!
They will be unmanageable. But after I have been in heaven like this, I won't care.
it is amazing really, after you have stuffed your kids with this ... they will never leave home!!
how much syrup for the toffee mrp?
or, if you want to be healthy (!), put a scewer through an apple core then drizzle the toffee all over.
I make it from the recipe dodge, it turns into a syrup then sets like rock!
woohoo im back, slacking of as im booting up friends ipod
LOLOL! "Dulce de leche is available in Holland under the name of "My Grandma". !!!
healthy schmelthy...!! give me the triple king island cream
lol!!
what no syrup in the recipe? ill make it with my gchildren!
Ata: http://www.agf.nl/nieuws/2006/25aug/1 1n_nl_dulcedeleche.htm
ah, you make treacle toffee!!
now we are on another page of sick food! ;)

clue for di7/8 please
sorry oggy not there yet
Morning everyone! I seem to have confused my ic4/5 days and used the 'op art' one yesterday. So, given the recycling info on my profile, I thought I'd be a 'green woman' today. I see the Stids are in the grid again!
morning jac
ty for the ic clue
oggy - ends in - you put money in the bank to **** it & earn interest
ooo and plural it for the 8 !
wonderful recycling info Jac!
most vets are hugely appreciative of old blankets and stuff for their inpatients too
hi jac!
Ata - I put the info up for FMitch and others a couple of weeks ago. I forgot to mention it was there for you other UK people. Hope it's helpful. I'll add the info about vets, too. Thanks, Ata.

Vet info now added to profile. Thanks again, Ata. BTW, how are you feeling today? Breathing okay, I hope?
yes, much better, thank you! husband confined me to the sofa with a pile of books and the remote control yesterday - amazing how rest really does help most things!
oggy - ar6 is a chemical term, but sounds like the Duke of Illyria from Twelfth Night.
ar 6 - ar + to be bad + o

Ata - Glad to hear you're feeling better.
yw

actually, change position of one vowel and add another lynxxx.
i do that jac!!
clue please for the an 8/40
FranMag - me, too. Erm, not that it's a sign of hopeless addiction, of course...

Me, neither, herinfern.

The an8 is probably an 'against' something word...

Jac i nucked the brownies as they were hard
Oh dear, herinfern. Did you overcook them because you were busy Babbling?
no they were cooked on monday last week they were a bit stale
Herinfern - you could have crumbled them up as the base for a cheescake. Cappuccino cheesecake, choc cheesecake etc.
the re5.12 & 6.21 are really not acceptable words. truncated!
Grandkids are the best. You can love them and spoil them rotten -- all the things I didn't do to my kids at this age.
not that many left as i served them on wednesday at the soup kitchen i work at.
ARB - I bet! You can also hand them back...:)
Any help on the ar 5/10 ? I have the one that is a crime.
Jacula, along with their dirty clothes!

at least it's down from 414 - that was a wowser.
thanks, and hi to everyone who's just arrived. :)
Morning Wolvie
can anyone help me with more on the is5.10. (Japanese immigrants) TY
lynxxx - looks a bit like a weird Latin plural for a magazine volume (is***) or one's offspring.
The is5/10, I meant, not you, Lyn!
lynxx, is the that same cons again, then think of the song.. old mcdonald had a farm those first two letters
hah! - thanks Jac - off to try that

I don't have it yet, herin, sorry
hi, pappou--and yes, you might! (need the caffeine, that is)
yay, lynxxx
Herinfern - English princess's money pile? Maybe.
HIL - end it in - put money into a bank to **** it and not spend it
Or, for the di8/60 (which will help you get the 7) - 'English Princess rescues'.
lol, nice clues
The di word really means the opposite of leaving money in the bank. It's not a term I've heard before though.

pappou--against + s 4/4
an 8 an 4/4 (means against) + se 4/4
too funny, pam, I could use some chocolate
I think Jac said that she didnt have an Aunty Sarah (sounds like)
ty, arb, got it
--caffeine is great for most headaches, except the tension-type (unfortunately, I am a headache connoisseur) Dark chocolate, yum
Chocolate is The very best, Pam
gotta go - everyones home - bye all!
bye lynx!
lol, arb! I actually, <gasp>am not a huge chocolate person, though once in a while, a pieve of dark chocolate is lovely
bye, lynxxx
'Bye Lyn. Have a great day.
I try to stick with decaf, but during the week I mix decaf with hazelnut then I drink iced tea. So when I don't work on the weekends I don't drink coffee and the headache starts
ai6?
I define once in a while as several times a day, if possible! I really do try to restrain myself, but I am often tempted.
gotcha, pappou... seems an iced tea or half decaf, might be called for
LOL, ARB
um clue please, er 7/28
Pappou ai 6/18 ai + r 4/4
er 7/28 -- making a noun out of the act of using the non-lead end of the pencil
herinfern--scraping away the e 7/40 with a different second consonant
ty, arb
pam i aint got hat yet

Good Morning all, was not going to play after yesterdays mammoth grid but who was I kidding ;-)
Is stidmama here, her name is in the grid :)

Hello peri. Still got those car keys safe, I hope?:)
Hello Dorens.
morning peri, dorens
yes Jacual, they are hanging on their hook. I have them on a long red strap that I can wear around my neck. :)
sorry meant Jacula
I think yesterday's grid was the most horrific I've ever played, even though I did get the dishwater words first!
it was a corker, alright. ;-)
jac i finshed with 30 seconds to spare literally
I was also annoyed that 'strewth' wasn't allowed.
May I please have clues for the 8's
Peri's lost for words! LOL
8-)
an8/40 - a type of vaccination stuff. (I don't have an Aunt Sarah!)
Hey my real name is in the grid
av8/55 - you may have this type of therapy to put you off doing something you really shouldn't.
thanks Jac
rasin
di8/60 - removes money from the bank. (Or try 'English princess rescues'.)
thanks Jac for the av8
thanks Jac, that di8 is an odd word
sc8/45 - a real doozey of a word. Means 'a cleavage or cutting'. Think of a cutting implement that has 2 halves and change the end. The deci**** which clue route to take is yours!
That's al the 8's.
thanks Jac, got the sc8 right away with your great clue
jac - that was a fab clue - got it one. thanks. :-)
took a coffee break, came back for the sc clue--thanks, jac and boy, what a word!
Me to Jacula 1 more
y/w. My monkey found the word for me.
thanks Jacula, got those 8's and the sc 8
that's some monkey - you should rent him out.
you gotta love those monkeys :)
morning inge!
i got the sc after monkeying for what seems forever, I then look up to find you had given a cracking clue for the sc8..doh!
morning, got to stay away from this side, made several mistakes already
Always keep one eye on the chatlog, seano. LOL.
lol, inge! It's not like we all haven't done it!
sorry jac did not get the an one
Tiny - an8 is a plural for vaccination agents.
Tiny - you vaccinate 'against' things - that gives you the first part of the word. (Sounds like a female who is your Mum or Dad's sister.)
still dont get it
Tiny - an5/10 + a period of time.
Got it that time Jac thanks
Thank heavens! LOL
Yeah I agree but I only have 24 words including the 4/8's you clued
jav your clues were great for the 8's, but I am not getting the di 8..any other clues for it?
Tiny - It's not a bad grid; lots of 'normal' words. Good luck!
dorens d 4/5 + park ***nue
Dorens - do you have the di7/44?
Thanks
oh, and dorens, plural...
I would actually have used de instead of di, dorens. di plus s, plus sa 4/4, then plural
no, don't have either of those d's...jsut starting out and need my coffe. but thanks, i'll find it i'm sure
the di 4/5 is what you would do to someone if you cut them off, say
that did it thanks wolvie, and pam and all

Dorens..read your profile Where are you in Jersey..most of my mothers family is there..Scotch Plains, Fanwood, Toms River, Plainfield, Lakehurst, etc.
first an 5 - licorice flavor
I am also from NJ originally
Union County
have that of ccourse wolvie
north and west of scotch plains...had a close friend in fanwood
i spent all my summers in jersey with grandmom and cousins..but am from Mich. originally. Now in hillbilly heaven. N.GA ..a mile from Chatt. TN
if you visualize nj as two distinct parts (north and south) i am plop in the middle of the north half....close enough to get to ny regularly, but in the woods (my town is called mountain lakes)
i used to live in fanwood
hillbilly country, beet it's a veritable hotbed of wordies like you
I loved Jersey..still do. Everytime I get achance I visit...
second an 5 latin plural of the an 4/4 just above it. That 4 means: a looped handle, esp. of a vase.

Hi Jacula, Dorens, I think they originally came from Russia then went to England and then onto Canada. I believe my grandfather had 7 or 8 brothers and one sister. We lost track of them a long time ago. I do have a cousin in Canada that I communicate with I should ask her if any migrated to Albany.

Hi everyone, I am back from my four day break in Wales, it was lovely, and didn't get the bad weather we were told to expect. Had a look at the grid when I got home yesterday, and after seeing 415 words, I logged out again!
Hi Wren!
Hi ExWren Welcome back. YEsterdays grid way too big, today's not bad but makes the grey cells work a bit.
hi wren, where in wales were you?
Good afternoon. 145 words are so much more manageable than 414.
We were staying with Bill's sister in Bridgend, and visited relations in Swansea, where he was born.
Hi all - better grid than yeaterday! Site disappeared for me with 18 to go GRRRR. Ex Wren - hope you enjoyed your break. The weather has been better than forecast. still sunny here

That area has grown so much
Florence has grown by leaps and bounds as well
I came to Ohio U for college many years ago and fell in love, got married and stayed.
yw, Mary
We just bought this house in Albany last year.
I love it here now but didn't when I first came here.
I appreicate all the green space:-)

My mom and most of her family still lives in that area
It was nice chatting with you. I am off to fix lunch. Take care

musicmom, have that one list says 3 na4/4, ihave 2
HeyI saw that...didn't count as word though ;]
{{{{MusicMom}}}} Hi how are you?
MVA - okay - you need another term for grandma - two syllables that look exactly alike
Faerie - I'm great!
Thanks for asking. How is it going in KY?
the na4's, one is the bread, other is grandma, and the third is the plural bread less one vowel.
Is my i4 giving anyone else a headache?
anyone have es6?
faerie!!! mm!!! hey girls!
es+ a penny or dime ( change the first letter)
Hiya Ren
Really good. Had a wonderful family get together last night my nephew "who is a foreign missionary" is home from Gutamula and we had over 100 people show up
Hi Ren
musicmom, pass me the fish!!!

The kids are back in school. We have been to our first HS football game - Sarah in the marching band
No prob, musicmom; I was joking
yes, still thinking
That's okay ERda - I thought you were. I just can't believe how it isn't pretty any more. <G>
No kidding, hard to believe it is that time of year again. and congrats to Sarah :)

yw
She was supposed to have her first game today but there is a funeral at the football stadium so everything on the athletic fields was canceled.

YW
How many lightbulbs does it take to change a psychiatrist?

ROFL OldRottenHat
<wink>
So what's the punch line?
I found a baby kitty this morning and it wants to adopt me :( but I'm not even in my house yet....so it is going to stay with my niece until I get moved in
Awwwww -- that's how we ended up with both our cats. They adopted us:-) What color is it?
it is black with white whiskers and white tips on its ears
any hints for io6/21, 2nd one, pls
What are you going to name it?
MVA - what they do to salt

Our last cat was Miss Kitty. Her previous owner called her Kitty - we added the miss
You're Bringing up Baby?

did we get the punch line?
Okay my last two s words have me in a s*** <G>

Vicun - the answer is fish?
I have looked and looked for them.

Ahhhh got them
6: 1 to climb the ladder, 2 to hold the giraffe, and 3 to fill the bathtub with ping-pong balls.

lol vicuna
(Though I've heard that answer, too, FMitch!)
MVA thank you very much I'll go to pick some up for it
how do I know if its a boy or girl?
harp - re+ one edge of a square - last letter
thanks!@
ci 4/5 & 5/12?
that was hard - harp
faerie.. the easiest way is to count the holes. Lift up its tail and one hole = male, 3 = female
a growth, usually spelled with a y instead of i, odin
ci - a growth (sometimes cancerous ) differnet spelling
haha, I mean 2 = female
Aloy your kidding right ?
good answer, Aloy!
I was pondering the three holes...............
just a typo, faerie.. the rest is true..
a female is an exclmation point ! a male is a colon :
LOL ok I was lost with the 3 also
TY Leslie & Musicmom
thanks aloy, i didn't want to write that in log!
ty
brb going to see if its male or female

av8/55?
I love black and white kitties. We have a solid grey and an orange bobtail

yw

er7/28 - like wearing away by wind and water, but with a diff middle vowel
er 6/28: the removal of something ( ends in you l*** of pork)
like ev7/40

good morning, not new to babble but new to the chat room, may I join in ?
welcome, daisy !
dits
Howdy, daisy.
an + **turday is before sunday
thanks
Daisy, you have now discovered the number one danger of joining the chat!
mva: what bubba said..
what's that?
an 5,10 is latin plural of 4,4
Typing your grid words into the chat box! (Check out your second comment!) :)
other an 5,10 is plural of against
thanks bubba, 1 left now
I work hard at doing the puzzle without clues.are there others that work without the clues?
me too, MVA !
Hi, daisy88!
daisy - i see you are a mets fan!
big mets fan BIG BIG fan
this is a great year it it so exciting
Different people do it all different ways, daisy. Some use the second-letter lists, some don't. Some ask others for clues in the chat, others don't. Some use on-line dictionaries and word lists, others don't... Whatever way makes it most fun for you is the right way to do it.
thanks for the warm welcome
thanks for the info
fireworks!!!!
yw daisy!
Congrats, MVA!!
bravo MVA
Congrats, MVA
pyros mva!!!!
congrats mva
overlooked a di4: wahoo, pyros for me too.. yay, MVA
bravo Aloysisius

pryos for aly!!!!
wtg, Aloyisus
Congrats, Aloyisius!!
Congratulations Aloyisus
This is like a giant love fest
Congratulations MVA
Yay for Aloy!
is the an8 something to do with a vaccination? I can not find it :(
daisy: I like to do as much as possible just brainstorming off the grid.. then I get a bit of help with the initial numbers from BJ's list, then.. I will join chat and share clues and "dive into" the word list to figure out what I am missing.. lots of steps, but I like the process of discovery .. finding new words is fun!
remember, feed babblet a little often faerie!
yup, it is the an 4,4 (against) + se4,4, -- it is like a vaccination
raelite: it has to do with BLOOD..
thanks :)
I am amazed by the people who complete the large puzzles (like yesterdays) there are a ton of words to find and learn
an 8 : start with an 4 (againsst) add Latin plural of the liquid that is used to vaccinate
Ok MVA I will she seems do be doing fine as long as I am holding her LOL
time consuming, daisy... couldn't do it till I retired.
It is similar to a croosword puzzle, once you have them enough times, you sort of figure outthe words and clues, the same in babble
I keep seeing antacid in this puzz..I think that's the problem
you are right, bubba.. speed increases with the recognition of all those weirdo words that frequently pop up
raelite, think of the Italian sound Que ****, ****, what ever will be, etc. That is the ending of the an8
and the beginning means "against"
the sound is supposed to be song
waiting for raelite to tell us she has it, then I must scoot...
the suspense is killing me, does raelite have it?
holding my breath, bubba
bubba - here is where you do the jaws theme
turning a bit blue..gasp
patiently pacing and tapping my toes
is she breathing, did someone check her pulse
breathe aly....
This is worse than the waiting room at the maternity ward!
maybe her monkies collapsed
Well I'll thank you!
call 911
rae...oh rae.......
maybe the thrill of getting the word overwelmed her and she went to have a cigarette
(A chocolate one, I hope.)
hi sorry
who is going to do the eulogy for rae?
I had to let the dogs out
ahhhhhhhhhhh
we were very worried
then I watered my herb garden
we thought you expired. we already were making plans to give your name to someone else
then I complained about the jerk backing his truck up next door
gray hairs keep popping out..
Didja get the an8?
sorry I have sunday ADD disorder
no I did not
*** collective groan! ***
oy! I have the first part!
thnink of the Itlian song que ****, ****, what ever will be will be, etc,etc-- then put the against word first
ok, let's try another clue: against (four letters) + alt spelling of another word for MR. and then the first vowel..
we're pulling for you
oh look at that.
WHAT???
thanks guys you rock!
YAY!
I think I typed antidosar 15 times
Godd afternoon to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
group cheer!!!!!!
I got to go have a cigarette, was it good for you too?

the worse a rod gets, the more the fans boo, the more it gets into his head
yummy bubba
sa5/10 & 6/18 please
A-rod deserves to be in a slump for the rest of his career. He is nothing but a money-grubbing friend-forsaking mean person.
I am back... (as if you didn't notice)
and on that note - hello stid!
maybe he could use a hypnotist
sa5.10 -- last part of word describing professional killer, then plural

hey stidmama, you are in the grid today ;-)
stid - i don't know if i properly thanked you for all your help with my fireworks yesterday - i was in a panic -- so late - you were a reat help
hi stid
clue for the es6 or ni5 please?
alex rodriguez, highest paid player in major league baseball
Alex Rodriguez. Got his real start in the major leagues with the SEattle Mariners. Was part of a group of really good players. Left for more money and didn't care that he was abandoning thousands of fans.
thanks ch1211
Stid, you are in the grid again today
hi peri et al!
sa5/10?
oops mean thanks ch1212
has lots of money
oh ... like every football player here then!
bettyanne, what part of colorado? We were just in Evergreen last week.
hi stid *coming up for air*
I am gridded again, yep, that's true!
HOw are you feeling today stid?
Southwestern. Durango.
but A-rod is the highest paid player EVER -- and since he left he hasn't been very good... (maybe it's karma)
harpjane the word for professional killer starts with 'as...' use the last part of that word for your sa
hi Jill! *diving in*
harp sa5 was just clued look down the log.
thanks oggy and ch1212
he he serves him right then :)
much better peri, thanks! I have managed to get a bit done -- processed some corn for freezing, cleared off a workbench and baking a cake for later. Also nagged my wondeful spouse to tear up the roof so we could see WHAT the damage is...
(still awaiting a clue for those elusive ones I asked for earlier ... es6 and ni5 ...)
i am going down for a nap - then a 50th b-day party - then hopefully back to finish the grid before midnight
the damage is worse than even I thought... we need to replace most of the plywood, and entire 2x4 from the peak to the edge of the roof... and lots of the insulation.
bye everyone :)
stid, have you used or considered any alternative methods, ie, Reiki, herbs, acupuncture?
gotta go thanks everyone for the nice welcome, good luck today
see you late helen - sweet dreams
ni5 Japanese
bye hk
bye helen, eat lots of cake for me!
es+ snake+ l*** of pork
stid, wow you got an awful lot done, sorry to hear about the roof damage though
Happy birthday, helen!!! Happy 50th!! I turned 50 this year and it's been one of the best of my life! Thanks, bubba!
And thanks bettyanne!
You're welcome.
helen wh's 50th, your gandfather?
50 is the new 35!!
I have considered and do use them sometimes (not acupuncture yet). Right now, I need to rest enough to be able to move about. Then I can start to think how I will prevent or minimize it in the future.
ch, I LOVE the icon!
50 rocks
stid, just asking since I am a Reiki practitioner and also learning about herbs.
oh bubba! That makes me about 25! *grin*
Thanks, stidmama -- a high school student drew it in art class when the teacher covered Op Art. Found it on the net
Bye all, be back later
Bye Bubba
oh! That is really neat, peri. I have some acquaintances who do Reiki. I know a little about herbal medicine, too.
bye bubba
bye bubba
I have one left. si4/4 and can't get it. I have the one in the chair.
stid, Reiki would be able to help with the pain, just a suggestion.
betty, it's either mortal si* or venial ones
si4 seven deadly si..
hi Stid :)
Thanks for the concern, peri, and the suggestion. I hadn't considered it for the immediate need!
taking a break, bbl
hi daisy
canu IM?
later peri!
Boy do I feel foolish. Thanks ch & oggy. That's it for me. Thanks again for being so helpful. Bye now.
bye bubba...
me too -- bye bettyanne and all -- happy hunting!
done, BettyAnne?
stid have u had bad weather over there
Yep! Glad it was a smaller grid as yesterday I couldn't finish---did have around 335 or so however which is great for me. Bye.
so, you just started stid?
oggy, our weather has been fine, though we are in for a change this coming week. It's why I really wanted to get a meaningful start on replacing the skylight.
YAY BettyAnne! bye...
I have 90 to go feather, wanna race?
As much fun as today's theme is, I'm skipping and going to tomorrow's theme.
121 left, and a boy who is trying to get into everything! enough of an advantage for you?
uh oh, he found the bag of elmer's glue bottles. brb
I ^might^ be able to pull it off feather...
feather how olds the boy.
bernie hr 3-0
hello leigh! our theme will be places it's good to be from?
chj -- is this good that bernie made a hr?
he just turned 2
how do u know what the theme is.
not for me...but it makes rennie happy
Mama- Vacation areas we could do without. =) We have plenty of those here....the Turnpike, Newark, Seaside Heights, the Meadowlands.....
feather -- could you just strip him naked, put him in a dry kiddie pool and hand him some playdough, a bucket of water and some blocks?
dulce!
well -- whatever makes rennie happy makes us all happy!
feather the terrible 2,s into everything.
lmao!!!! what a great idea stid!
a happy rennie is a good thing
oggy -- we look at Babbler's profile, or on Angelsong's page where she has put up a nice calendar.
dulce de leche
"into everything" is putting it mildly!
see, I told you I am raising two boys! LOLOLOL
renfield -- any news on Nut's dog?
I am so sad for that...
i'm ignoring the land mine of toys at the moment, and listening to him creating another land mine in the kitchen. but he's having fun, staying out of trouble, so i'll clear it up later.
none yet stid/ nut is out of town this weekend
thanks stid.
What happened to the dog?
it's only when it's quiet that you need to worry feather, but you know that already!
yep. he was just repeating "no no no" over and over, had to go check that out. he's busy playing with his kitchen set, so false alarm.
thanks, ren. How about your mother?
oh feather, the memories!
a few days ago, it was very quiet...i went to check, and he had climbed up on the changing table and was taking a baby powder bath and using the desitin as chapstick! i have a picture...i should upload it...
stid - cyberdot is doing better. the stitches are irrating her. she has dementia and doesn;t remember why she has a bandage
*giggles, imagining the pic*
leigh wanted to know about the dog - I'm not sure of the latest so can somebody tell her?
Yes, I know that must be hard. But perhaps the stitches irritating is a good thing. My few experiences with stitches is that I only notice them when the healing has started...
sorry leigh. There was some problem and someone took Nut's dog to a pound.
Oh no...
leigh - someone had the puppster picked up. fiz was having her mom check on the status of where the puppster might be located
Meaningless protest about the absence of Asia in the dictionary
The poor thing.
And poor Nut
as I recall, it was her brother who took the dog and it was a "killer" pound - 48 hours limit. Her mother (?) was trying to do something about it because they didn't know which pound it was.
Douglas -- PROPER noun...
hey ya douglas
Why would her brother do that??
Then why is "Jehu," one of the kings of Israel, in the dictionary, hmm? HMM?!?
maybe it's not a proper noun in a different language?
ok, stid, adding pics to my photo album...will be a few minutes....
Hello ren, and all...
good question, leigh but there was no answer
the word list is kinda arbitrary and unreasonable
like my parenting style
okay feather. I need to go change into "town" clothes... Tom and my father are going to get the supplies we will need later in the week when he finishes the roof; I am going grocery shopping with the kids and my mother.
see you all when I return!
That's not good at all... =( And I thought Max had it rough this week.
I'm right there with ya, penguin...
I agree, xunil - can't get over the fact that it doesn't recognise 'internet'
oooh are you shooting an episode of this old house at your place stid
Bye Mama
have fun stid
bfn, stid!
stid will you grocery shop for me????
we are doing the 'TOH' shoot this weekend, sanding and refinishing wood floors in the boys room
yeah...20 bags of cheetos for ren....a 3 day supply
*sigh* if only, chj -- the manufacturer of this home declared bankruptcy six months after we bought it. This last winter we discovered that the skylight in the office was leaking and rather than dripping into the room going down the slope to the wall. Dry rot in several places. I think it was leaking the whole time. But it wasn't discovered soon enough for us to make a claim before the court-imposed deadline several years ago.
I am really angry. Will post pics on my blogs later... right now, it's groceries. Whattaya need, ren? CHOCOLATE, and then?
oh no stid!
hahahaha chj.....*-D
mmm, some M&Ms for me please stid
thata couldn't be more annoying stid -

go pats
you betcha chj - especially with a Wolvie QB. :-)
chj, I'm facing a dilemna. I'm from Minnesota, so I should root for the Twins and take joy in their recent two victories over the White Sox...on the other hand, I'm still ticked at them for subverting State law to get the state to spend money for a stadium without a taxpayer referendum (which would most certainly lose) What to do?
douglas, root for the milwaukee bucks
any one from alaska?
wait, ill ask er
There are lots of Packer fans in the Twin Cities. It's my understanding that the Packers are owned by the city of Green Bay. It's the only pro sports team owned by the city in which it plays that I know of.
3 run hr bernie yanks 8-0

kkiln, plural of the sa 4/7.
any clues for the di 7 and di8?
the last sa's all work off the root of keeping things
don't know how I overlooked that....thanks!
Ever since Jeter made that play in the World Series where he caught the cut off coming over the first base line and made the flip to the catcher, it's no fun hating the Yankees anymore...
di7 to deman someone in the hood + to keep things
*demean
thanks! you are a great clue giver chj
yanks losing their lead ...8-1
what inning, chj?
btw, chj, with faerie's help I managed to get Lickety's to open in a sidebar next to the grid. But it wasn't easy!
I dunno Douglas, I still derive pleasure from hatin' them... in a friendly way, of course.
You own the money, you control the witness, I hear youre lonely - dont monkey with my business You pay the profits to justify the ******s
CJ -why wasn't it easy? Do you use IE??
Probably will get a fish.....but I need NA 4/4-- the one after the na 5/10
is it worth it cj...i mean i open licketys in a separate window then tile vertically and reisize so that licketys is a thin strip on the left and i have plenty of room for the grid and can still keep an eye on the chat
No I have Firefox but I needed to download the sidebar and then get Lickety's to come up in that window. A couple of times I accidentally ended up with the grid over there. But it's great. Only thing is my monitor is small and I lose the chat when I have both of them up and running.
yankees fading fast....8-2
like your mama, kk - just sub n's
Sounds like you have it covered, chj. May not be worth it to set up the sidebar.
wow - I have always had it up in a sidebar - and I can still see chat - much to my detriment. ;-)

:0 Douglas said a word!
And all gods of all religions are fair game too. The dictionary is prejudiced against just about all gods except the Greek ones...
oh the horror of it all =0
It's my understanding that in Hinduism they have something like 83 gazillion gods. Of course, some of them have relatively small responsibilities...
thanks ak and cj!!!!
welcome Rennie!
so 5/12 anyone?
Just because a Greek god gets to be on "Xena," doesn't mean he should be in the dictionary. But there he is!

Hi Min & Stid
bloody marys
ewwwwwwww snakes on a bowling alley, the sequel
wild turkey is a bourbon, not a mixed dring, chj
snake bites, and we already got our victory dance prepared
hi shorty
yukon and lemon juice
hi stid!
hi stid!
but its a good bowling name
Hello shorty! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
I thought wild turkeys was for Thanksgivin' Supper?
we needed something every team member liked
whats the dance
AI 6 please?
I went bowling last night.I did worse than I've ever done
rum runners almost won - and wild turkey is for christmas eve

lol, chj, it is a good bowling team name!!!!!!
ai 6/18 is ai plus re 4/4 (a short nap) stidmama.
my club had 4 lanes in the basement and we used to bowl every monday night
thats what i need a re4/4
thats mamba, stid
thanks feather an Min!
i stink, stink, stink at bowling, but I like it
bowling is fun, except for a few of the people in our league that i could do without
its not the bowling but the cameraderie
I love to bowl but havent been in years
like the woman with the black teeth and the guy with his patches all over his shirt.
I agree, chj
drop the ball on their toes...theyll be on the disabled list
lol, chj!!!!
and the guy with the rayon shirt that says AL
i once had a blind woman bowl a better score than me. sad, sad, sad.

throught the floor feather?
can I get a clue for the 2nd an 4/4 pls, My brain can't figure it out
I do not go bowling that often, but when I do I don't do well at all. I love bowling a lot. I wish I went more often.
hahaha
hehehe. it didn't take much to improve, let's say
a girl's name, phandmd
it also a palindrome
I thought I tried that
nut do you have sponsers?
how about "shake, rattle and roll"
the shake is your booty the rattle is the snake and the roll is the ball
i bought one of those balls you throw that hooks, only i don't make it hook very well. - no sponsers shorty...that would be awesome thought...cheaper.
or snake rattle and roll?
awesome slogan chj!
good variation
snake is team, rattle the pins, roll the ball
and the an 8 is against what?
I like that slogan!
with a picture of a hooded cobra
against what goes in shots? or just add an age to the end of the 5/10
coming out of the thumb hole of the ball
phandmd: an "aginst" + que s*** ....
go for it nut
i'm looking for a good snake image now
whats your average nut
Does anybody have a clue for the do 7/32 word please?
almost done....
not much chj - something like 120
go feather go!
go find the local tattoo artist and have the snake and the logo tattooed on your butt
or your bicep so it will be visible when you bowl
ewwww - but it changes every year chj
intimidate the other team
make the whole team do it!
Conan is hilarious on the Emmys
that could be a prob
AR 5/10 that is not to start a fire?
Min, it rhymes with a bunch of people who throw things, like horseshoes
no, the dozer is gonna put a turbon on his head and play a charm tune while my brother does the dance
what are the team colors
Thanx for the an 8 clues, I finally figured it out.
Now I have to go finish canning my tomatoes; I got upto 67 words today
ar5/10 - ar plus snake letter plus vowel plus snake letter
cool

you'll fit right in lizmia! that's what happens when you babble a lot!

Yeah!!!
I have osteoarthritis in my knees, Scrabbler. I did something last week that tweaked it, then didn't do the smart thing and rest it so it got really bad. Have been using my crutches to get around outside the house.
it's just for one hour or so the most of the time
Today I can walk okay for short distances without pain, so there is improvement.
Oh dear, you are so young for that, Stids.
How is Tom doing on the roof project?
Scrabbler, I have had this for over twenty years... got better when I was pregnant, gradually returning to the previous state.
Whitewitch, good. Ususlly when my family loses elec from a storm, it's off for a week or so
Tom is doing well. My dad is being nice *expression of surprise* and they are getting a lot done.
That stinks, Stid.

are we wanting a story tonight?
oh yes!
still need di's
es6 - old gas + not out
your clues are awaiting you at 8:44 and after, everyone of thos ere words got clued
DIlly, DIlly, DIlly... why would you want DIs?
my post was for stid, yes I want story
hi again, stid!
di 4/5, loud noises; di 7/44 to not recover? and then plural for the 8
av 8/55 please
dilly - do you have the di4/5? (di + two snakes?)
okay, story is now, may have to tell it in increments, but ... gather round, blankies and all!
av8/55 - the kind of therapy you might have to stop you doing something you really shouldn't do.
av8: the state of not liking something, I have an av****** to eating broccoli
*must get my 'all', ie vodka
the top i is drivingme crazy! I only have one-the obvious religious representation one. Can someone steer me in the right direction(s)?
After breakfast, Anna and Gilly and Nan washed up while the three teen girls and Andy took their nephew and niece next door in search of the origin of the cookie smell...
ty jacula and inge
John, the twins and John wandered out to the barn and stables and brought out the horses and donkey to exercise in the corral for a bit.
2nd se 5?
the first top i, that is
Eva, there are 4 io words
Eva - lots of 'salty' words from there...4, in fact.
se5 + se4, plus "eye"
thanks scrabbler. Now I just have to find them(-: but at least I have a direction.
(meant the twins and Paul, sigh)
is5/10 comes from the top
Adam joined them soon after and handed out cookies.
I mean se5=se4, plus "eye"
eva actually it's not salt, it's something we sometimes put in salt
thnx
They watched the animals stretch their legs for a while, then headed out to check the state of the fields.
Yes, Harp's right there - the Japanese immigrants come from there. (Sounds like a weird Latin ending for a volume of a magazine.)
do6/21 please
Fortunately, not much damage had been done in the storm a couple nights earlier, and the grain was almost dry enough to harvest. Another day or two, opined Adam.
do 6 is the person doing the do 4
eva, the top i is apparent beside all pros' names
John stretched and looked into the sky above the large tree. He pointed, and Paul glanced, then stopped and stared.
The last ti4 is making me crazy
thanks everyone! I'm just missiong one now....one of the io's. Have io5/14,io5/12,io6/21.
I am stuck...is 5/10 and the an 8???
The largest bird any of them had ever seen was circling above the fields. It was up a long way -- but still they could see the resemblance to a hawk.
thx inqe
last ti 4 is hue of color
And as it turned and twisted in the bright light, glorious hues glinted off its feathers.
have that one jill, but thanks!
ddilly is really thick-headed---still asnake short more clue ondi7\44 please
ti 4 to colour your hair
TY Inge, I knew it would be a "duh" word--I didn't see it.
Paul shuddered, remembering...
Eva - there are 2 io6/21s/ One is the plural of the io5/12, the others ends in 3 letters that sound like the things you see with.
di7\44
And caught Adam's quizzical look out of the corner of his eye.
Adam moved closer, and put an arm around Paul's shoulder.
dilly - di7/44 & adj. 8 mean 'to take money from one's bank account'.
"John, I bet the twins are big enough to beat you to the tree," Adam challenged.
Hiya Babblers I finally finished.
di 7/44 - di4/5 + *** maria - di 8 add the snake
Not a normal phrase though, filly! Think English princess (Charles's 1st wife) and then think 'English princess resecues'.
"Ready Set Go!" hollered the twins, and off they went.
*dilly (not 'filly'!)
i need is 5 please
oh sorry - didn't realize it was story time
Good work Faeriekae
Mag i + double letter + 2 more vowels
magzel - I clued is5 at 9:07.
"All right, son," said Adam gruffly, "We have at least ten minutes before they get back."
is5= is+Jerry ***nfeld
YAY FaerieKAE!!!! interrupt me ANY time!!!!
Jacula-thanks for the hint, but I'm stumped. I've tried the aes and ais endings and neither seems to get me anywhere. Doesn't really matter anyway because I have 44 left to find and am too tired to go for it.
He steered Paul toward home.
Don't worry, faerie. (And WELL DONE ON FINISHING!) I'll clue while Stid tells the story.
"What's this I hear about some sort of magic cure for Doris?"
timer on the stove... brb
Eva - I felt like that on the night of the 400+ grid.
ah, life goes on while stid tells her story <g>
bravo faerile,...while stid is checking her stove
Thanks everyone I have to prepare for bed now. Enjoy story time and Happy Babbling.
where did taht l come from? I meant faerie

'Night faerie.x
YAY faerie!!!!
It's a Bank Holiday here in UK today (Monday).
LOL Nighty Night everyone *blows kiss*
Horray for bank holidays :D
circe; first half of an 8 means against, then plural of blood liqueid, or que **** (what will be)
*Hooray
an8, circe is a plural word for vaccination liquids. Think 'Aunt Sarah' and then make it more childlike in sound.
wow, thank you inge and jacula...finally! :) yeah
okay, my dad just left for home, the big part of the framing is done and he'll come back tomorrow evening to help Tom finish.
an8 - against + que ****, ****
whoo hoo, Fireworks!
Dinner is ready when Tom gets in...
Well done, circe!
YAY lbd!

need clues please for os 4/4 the second one and os 5/10 the second one
Well done, dilly!
bravo dilly
Paul waved a hand a little dismissively, "It was a gift meant for Nan... she decided to give it away."
i've been in and out today. not helpful in giving clues, and finally got some time w/o interruptions to finish! whew! and it's story time! yeah!
Adam nodded, and they walked on a bit further.
o+ double cons. = vowel for the 4/4
magzel - os4/4 (2nd) is a word for 'bones' and also a mountain in Eastern Greece.
that should read + a vowel on the end
oh, and Hi everyone...*grabs comfy chair and settles in*
"I met so many people on my travels, Father. A kind woman learned of Nan's affliction and wanted to repay me for some small thing I had done. She offered me a vial of healing water from a well near her home."
hi, all
2nd os5/10 - change a cons in the 1st one
the second os 5/10 changes only one letter from the first os 5/10
Behind them, the sound of three young men chasing and playing came on the wind.
os5 - oh, go with the clue jilli just posted.
hi charm
hi all ,just comming on. I"ve been resting up after my doughters wedding yesterday. It was outside at our home and it rained very hard all day long, but we made out okay, just tired tonight.
Hi Charm.
first os4/4 please
congrats hodag on the wedding. Hi jac!
"She told me the water would cure one person of any affliction -- and asked me to give the vial to Nan."
hi hodag, mazel tov on your daughter's wedding
Hi, Jac, lbdawger. Waited till the end of the day today, thinking 'piece a' cake....' !!
Paul paused, and dug out a weed with the heel of his boot. Adam waited.
hohohodag!
wow , a wedding in upper Michigan and I missed it. Congratulations
Hi Ping! Charm, most of it is easy, some odd words here and there
A cool breeze blew across the fields, kicking up a bit of dust and chaff.
**hodag, congratulations on the wedding of your child!**
hello LB!
If anyone wonders why I am up here in UK at 3.23am, apart from it being a holiday day... earlier I found one of my old rabbits, who is a stroke survivor, suffering from 'Flystrike'. He's seeing the vet in the morning, but I do wonder if he will survive the night. And then, I went onto another of my regular forums to chec on the health of a member who collapsed on her way to work last week, only to discover she died in the early hours of Friday morning. Suffice it to say, I am feeling rather shocked and more than a little 'down'.
os 4/4 is os plus snake letter plus vowel. Other os 4/4 is os + ending of black pavement t** Andree.
Paul shrugged. "I have seen, since I returned, that Nan's affliction doesn't keep her from enjoying life."
Oh Jac...I'm so sorry about your cyber friend and your bunny. (((hugs)))
ve 5/16 & 6/27..pls
oh, Jac, I am so sorry. hugs on the way....
hi ping, anad Ibdawger and everyone elseyou are all such nice people! Thank you!!!!!!!
oh, jac! I think your icon expresses your emotions
lbd - thanks.x
Adam nodded, and pulled out a small pouch and began loading his pipe.
{{{Jacula}}} I am so sorry.
Jacula, sounds like a lot to deal with - sending you good wishes
thx Min and Fireworks
ve 5/16 is ve + the color *ed plus snake letter plus vowel
rock...a stanza of poetry or music is also called....drop the last vowel and add 4th vowel
Jac I am so sorry for you.....
Thanks all.
"We all have challenges," said the older man, "and Nan faces hers with more courage and ingenuity than most."
whoohoo andree
need st 5 please
ve 6/27 is the plural form of ve 5/16 rockimgramma.
Well done, Andree!
"Nan was right, you know," he continued, "Doris's illnesses are sometimes life-threatening."
So sorry, Jacula. I am a rabbit lover--have had house rabbits for many years
YAY Andree!!!!
thanks for the os clues. i finally got them
bravo, Andree

My one bunny is next to me here
Mag, something put in a vein to the heart to help it get more blood
Congratulations Andree on your fireowkrs! Good for you
jus came back i am sorry for you jacula
The sound of thumping, pounding feet and ragged breathing came up close and the two turned around.
magzel - st5 - you may be asked to join in something communal, to work... you will do you st***.
I need the last 2 ve's pls
singlet phand
charm, against+que **** **** whatever will be will be.
John's shirt was untucked, and Owain's hair was messy. Otto looked as if he hadn't run an inch.
an8/40 is against plural plus a long period of time Charm
phandmd - last 2 ve's have to do with what kids and old men wear under their shirts to keep them warm. LOL.
ve 4: sleeveless garment worn under jacket with suit, and plural
thanks all
nosa
nodi
if anyone wants to know what flystrike is, I googled it and got lots of info
Scrabbler - even though flystrike only takes hours, I feel guilty. Stupid, I know.
thanks, lbdawger and min !
"No fair," panted Owain, " -- he waited for us halfway." He gestured at his brother.
I can put flystrike info on here... if you want it.
you were right on you second try, Magzel
now I still need the so 5's pls
Basically, flies lay their eggs on your pet and then the maggots hatch within hours and begin to eat them alive.
I'll google it Jacula, it sounds familiar.
we've ahd a multitude of clues for the an8 lately! Scroll down and take your pick, anyone looking!
Jac, the website i just read said it can happen to even the most caring owner. (((hugs)))
lbd - It can. Thanks for the hug!
Paul laughed. "Well, he can make up for it by running ahead and getting a bucket of water for John and you to freshen up."
thanx for the ve's...I need both os 5/10
He pushed Otto ahead, and they walked up to the yard.
Phan, 2nd one is like the drive in or what a jet does when it breaks air speed
I have a friend who had a house rabbit called 'Mrs Hopkins'
phan - so5/14 - containing salt. so5/12 - the kind of 'boom' that happens when an aircraft breaks the spped of sound, or think of that wretched Hedgehog gameboy etc., game.
first one is like the grassy material but with the ending of the loud noise made by jets
funny name, Jill--cute
Meantime, Anna and Gilly had finished the dishes and started making a cake for the afternoon tea in between holding the baby and letting the cat in and out. Nan came back home after a while with a plate of cookies.
"Grammy said that we are invited to luncheon today to celebrate Doris getting well."
She sat down, and Anna handed Sarah to her.
1st os5/10 adds a vowel in the penultimate position to the 4/4, 2nd one changes a cons
I had a History teacher called MISS Hopkins. We never got to learn about WWII from her as she broke down and left the room every time she tried to go into detail (she was a great one for going off the point and telling us real stories to bring the periods alive); her fiance was a pilot who was killed in WWII.
1st 2 si's pls
Nan and Sarah shared a cookie while their mothers conversed about jams and jellies, and ways to soothe a teething baby.
hi everyone ! ooops - stid is telling story - i'll keep quiet and read in archives later
debb, talk away. there are about two other conversations and clues flying around tonight!
Phan, to command a dog to attack, is the first one, second one is what a catholic person tells in the confessional
jac, I don't blame her - one of the many tragedies of WW2 people don't understand these days
phan - si4/5 - indications of directly quoted passages (spelling errors included).si4/4 - transgressions.
I am in need of a bunch of fish I see!
Hi Debb! here Phan...<*)))<<<
Cathy was showing Olivia how to make an X on a piece of cloth with pretty thread. Andy and Gray were playing their version of "men at arms" on the rug with Grampy's best set of chessmen.
sorry about all this, stid -- we'll glac=dly catch up in babanon
si 4/5 is carious spelling of feelinf ill plural form&si 4/4 is acts of doing something evil or wrong phandmd.
*gladly (yikes!)
Doris was eagerly helping Grammy with preparations for luncheon, while Polly and Meg copied recipes from the family collection to put into their "someday" books.
oo, I luv your typing, minver - makes me feel good
Hi Debb,
Stid is a trooper - she will carry on regardless (until dinner's ready. LOL). She was in yesterday's grid and all her family are in today's.
help with the AS 5 and 6 please? (not the helping words)
Soon, Nan and Gilly and Sarah, Otto and Owain and John and Anna were coming through the back gate and up the stairs to the kitchen.
ni5, 10 please
"Hello Mother," sang out Gilly, "Father and Paul will be here soon. They wanted to put the animals back in their stalls."
Ping - they mean 'sonar' and 'sonars' but try as + a short version of King Richard's name.
thanx....pls...both ar 5/10
i don't see stid matt or grant or gmere!
i think they should give the magic potion to nan
ping..1st: abbrev for book with definitions (first three letters), then plural
ni 5/10 - ni + snake lettrer + two more vowels Scrabbler
thanks, jacula and lb
as 5 as*** as in, he's a real ***k
Silly jilli! I meant as a family, not name by name!
Sarah was playing with the vial that was hanging, now empty, from Nan's neck. It was just the right shape and size for her to gum at the edges, and just big enough that she couldn't swallow it.
rock one is to set an illegal fire
the other is ar+female sib
I've been waiting for someone to come up with 'silly jilly' !
TY, Minveryork
Adam and Paul brought the horses in first, settling them into their stalls, and making sure they had fresh water.
rock - ar + male offspring. ar + little female sibling.
(But that would be redundant, Jill!)
14 left--don't let me quit. I have a fever and fell crappy.
oh poo
Well, you should have known I'd be the one, jilli!
go Scrabbler go!
You are Welcome Scrabbler! I am happy to help anytime.
go scrabbler!!!!
'Whacky Jackie', that's me! LOL.
c'mon Scrabbler, hang in there, fight the fever find the words!
Oh *offers cool washcloth, chicken broth and ginger ale to Scrabbler*the hazards of working with sick people, cousin?
who drank that potion?
snap, jac!
Scrabbler - you ask, we'll clue, and you will come through!
Ping...Nan gave the potion to Doris
**Nan gave it to Doris...**
here i go, jumping in at the last minute once again....
go Krys go!
hi krys
okay, thanks
Ah, so you're another Jacq., jilli?
you can do it Krys
i can't believe sassers isn't accepted!
A Welsh one in origin, going by the surname, jilli.
As they were returning to the corral, they noticed the large bird circling overhead. Paul turned pale.
thanx...to 5/12..pls
no, jac, snap for the epithets
2 more co4's
Hi,Kry"s
The bird dipped lower and lower, finally lighting on a post at the far side of the corral.
Yay! I am done, and off to bed; nite

gin * to***
Krys - if it wouldn't take 'strewth!' yesterday, it sure as hell won't take 'sassers' today!
Adam looked at Paul. He lit his pipe and stood aside as Paul entered the enclosure...
Congrats phandmd
YAY phandmd!

Thx for all your helps. Especially those fishy ones!
*wonder what's up with the bird..."
jac - s'pose you're right...
no problem Phan glad to be able to help
hodag, your kitty is just beautiful!
The bird watched intently as Paul moved quietly to the donkey which was ignoring everything but the tough weed growing at the edge of the corral.
Goodnight to those who are leaving. Sleep well.
co 4's--I have fish, currency, and price/s--what else?
Got one--
Paul reached for the donkey's halter and pulled. Reluctantly, the little creature left its treasure and walked out of the corral.
scrabbler, double the snake letter, an transpose the last to letters in the money
co4 (after the currency) - anagram of the word. Think of to 'dupe' + a personal pronoun.
anagram of the money, and co + double snake
The bird sat, watching. Adam puffed on his pipe, watching.
it seems i missed some brilliant finishers - sorry and congrats to all!!!!
TY! C's are done. 11 to go
Paul handed the donkey to Adam and straightened up as tall as he could.
go scrabbler
Next co4/5 sounds like a lettuce or a Greek island, but has a double consonant ending.
"Father, I will be over to luncheon soon. Would you ask Nan to join me here?"
Adam nodded, watching the bird as he walked off, keeping his thoughts and his doubts to himself.
Paul stood at the edge of the corral, then turned to the bird.
night all........
Bowing deeply, he said, "You are most welcome here."
night, hodag
Got it jac
night hodag
Goodbye hodag! I will see you tomorrow in the chat log!
(Dr_God's 'about:config' change max thingummy whatsit to 20' advice seems to be working so far re not getting the 'unresponsive script' message in Firefox on this site.)
The bird sailed off its perch, wings of rainbow hues flashing brilliantly,
yeah, it worked for me when i started using firefox with ironsudoku
*do you think it was a phoenix? how exciting!*
As the talons hit the ground, they were covered by the feathers, which shifted and formed a long, exquisite cloak.
but then i switched back to safari anyway
night, hodag - and that beautiful blue eyed siamese
The long, slender neck and raven-black tresses of the head framed a face with brilliant eyes and pale cheeks.
good night hodag
hi everyone! : )
hello TO
we really are into fantasy here...
Such wonderfully vociferous and expressive cats are Siamese. Very sensitive, too. Same applies to Persians, though they are more tacit, normally relying on eye contact and body language.
hi TO!
The figure bowed to Paul and put its head on its side.
Hi Temple Owl! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
Nan came slowly across the yard, keeping one hand on the rail that traced the paths.
Paul and the figure watched her approach.
first ai 4/4 and ci 4/5(not sure which)..pls
When things get desperate (in the Persian cat's mind) they can be as vociferous as Siamese.
Paul met Nan at the gate and picked her up.
Hi TO.
"I have someone for you to meet, Nan."
Her face turned excitedly toward the center of the corral. "Who is it, Father?"
ai 4/4 is ai plus single hump letter plus snake letter and ci 4/5 is a growth in your body or c plus a particle.
rock - 1st ai4 means 'to help or as6/18'.
rock...like hearing ai**
rock...like hearing ai**
*excuse my burp! blush*
rock - 2nd ai4 (if that's what you really need) is Scottish for 'our owns'.
just started..
A strong but not unpleasant voice replied, "I am the giver of gifts and the receiver of woes. I bring light and dark. I create and destroy."
'Our ai* folk!'
Nan turned to the voice and patted her father's shoulder. "Please put me down," she whispered.
She stood and took a few steps in the direction of the voice.
This story of Stid's is getting spooky now!
She curtsied, a little awkwardly.
an5, 10--I have the fennel one, and the trick one
"Greetings, great one," she began, then hesitated.
done. clues before I go?
"Are you the child to whom the vial was given?" responded the figure.
an5/10 = against - pl.
Congratulations Charm on your fireworks! Hooray for U
whoo hoo Charm!
"Yes, I am. Thank you, Gracious One."
YAY CHARM!!!!
"Then why," demanded the figure, taking a step forward, "Can you not see?"
ty ty - ' with a little help from my friends....'
Paul started forward, but a look from the bright eyes stopped him in his tracks.
Already have that one Charm
an5/10 - a herb that dogs love. an5/10 - a projecting end of Saturn's rings. an5/10 - 'againsts'.
"Oh, I have a sister who needed it more. I hope this pleases you. Father said the vial was mine to do with as I chose."
an5/10 = latin pl of the an4/4 before it?
The figure fixed Paul in its unblinking stare. "You have a remarkable child."
YES, TY Charm. 5 to go
The Saturn clue has a singular, an4/4, that sounds like a solution. Just add a letter to the end of that to make a Latin ending.
Paul nodded and bowed.
Just the S's left-- I have to get organized
The figure reached into the folds of the cloak and drew out a small casket which it held out to Paul.
He stepped forward and grasped it firmly.
I'm off to bed now. Catch the rest of the story on BabAnon, stid. And to the rest of you... Happy Babbling!
"Come here, child," said the mysterious figure, "tell me what you see."
Night, Jac. right behind you. have fun babbling and see y'all tomorrow.
night Jac...my positive thots to you for bunny
Good night Jacula, I hope your bunny will be okay.
Goodbye Jacula! I will see you tomorrow in the chat log!
night Charm
good night also charm!
jacula - before you go - how do you know about the welsh connection? please email me - address in profile
Give bunny a kiss. My 4 bunnies send well wishes for recovery
good night, jacs. see you tomorrow.
Nan shook her head, "I am sorry, I don't know what you mean."
adieu. adieu. parting is such sweet - oh, you know the rest....
Goodbye Charm! I will see you tomorrow in the chat log!
The figure raised its arms -- wings? -- and blew a puff of bright pink air toward Nan.
"Now what do you see?"
Nan looked confused. "My eyes feel strange, kind stranger, there is a sparkly feeling in my heart."
Paul looked in amazement at his child, but kept silent.
The figure raised its arms a little further and blew a puff of yellow air toward Nan.
may i have a lcue for ai 6, please? ty.
ai6 - the most of what we breathe (dumb word)
She rubbed at her eyes. "This is very peculiar, Father!" she exclaimed, "There are up and down thoughts across my mind!"
ai 6: ai + to take a nap
most of what we breath
ai 6/18 is ai plus to take a nap 72 Temple Owl.
good clue, inge
The figure put its arms out toward Nan and blew a puff of blue air.
ty! i don't think i have the re word!
I need the 2nd or 3rd ar 4/4(not sure which)..pls
Nan gasped. She covered her eyes with her hands and started to cry.
ar 4/4 is a plus to take a nap minus the last consonant.
sorry not ar..the an 4/4
Paul moved to her side and picked her up. "Nan?"
The figure stepped forward and embraced father and daughter and blew white air.
there are 4 an4/4s
*oooh don't cry Nan...*
ditto, lb
se6 and then I'm done
Nan sobbed and the tears fell from her eyes. Paul started to tear up also, but the figure held them tight and quietly hummed a gentle song.
Nan can see, Nan can see!!!!
Got it--I thought I entered it hours ago
Nan opened her eyes and looked at her father.
an4/4 is a woman's name. Other an 4/4 is an + Stid's character **rah.Another an4/4 - to be against gramma
YAY SCRABBLER!!!!
Fireworks
YAY scrabbler!!!
scrabbler, there are four of them in a year, fall/winter/spring/summer
bravo Scrabbler
She looked at the figure.
I did it--some very strange words in this grid
Then she held out her hands and inspected them.
Congratulations Scrabbler on your fireworks!Good for U
the 2nd or 3rd an 4/4(not sure which)..one if the 4/4 between the two 5/10
whoo hoo scrabbler!
Anybody need clues--I will stay on briefly
I think it's YAY Nan!!!
The figure retreated and bowed to Nan and to Paul.
*i wonder what color eyes Nan has?*
Isn't it nice that we help each other here? I love this game because of that. We cheer each other on.
es 6/18 please?
first an5/10 please?
An 5/10 is an + vowel plus single hump letter plus vowel.
es + snake +pork l***
min - it's been given so often! Try an old gas company + not out
"The casket holds herbs and tinctures for healing. I leave it in Nan's care. The village doctor can instruct her on their uses."
es +** you want to be a millionaire +opp of out
ty!
scrabbler - that's what I love about this too - not competition but cooperation
Paul nodded and handed the casket to Nan.
also es6 - a British legal term for a reason why someone doesn't show up in court
an 5, 10 is another name for fennel
and storytime on top of it all!
The figure made a strange hop --- and transformed into a bird again.
Teamwork!
second or third an 4/4..pls
good job!
Thankyou for es clues.Sorry to ask for clue during story
Nan watched carefully as the bird flew higher and higher. Paul grasped her hand and they walked slowly next door for lunch, looking at everything on the way.
no problem Min.
