well i used to look and see if things had partially hydrogenated fats and not buy them. then they made them put a label about trans fat, and so i just look at that and buy if it says zero
but apparently the FDA has not heard of fractions, because apparently zero is not really zero, it's just less than one.
Is less than 1% enough to hurt anything?
so here i am munching away at gingersnaps which do in fact have trans fats in them. back to checking ingredients.
if 4 gingersnaps have half a gram each, and i eat half a box, then it becomes enough.

i have a book called "trans fat solution" which is a good read, and has transfat free recipes
grr, I like crackers... I make most of my own desserts, never buy store bought, but I suppose some of the ingredients would have them as well.
there are one or two types of crackers that have no trans fat. just check the label for the words "partially hydrogenated", don't believe the trans fat 0 part.
As an afterthought, if I lay off the crackers, my rear end may shrink some.

Yes, Stid, snow has melted--temp in the 50's today (warmer outside than inside for people without power). My office was closed today. I will go in at 7:30 AM to scout out the situation and maybe see some kids in rooms with windows. The 1-2 wk old babies are the ones that shouldn't wait.

Tea's name is Kemma - that was my hubby's grandmother's name. Kemma's godfather is a very strait laced gentleman and when we told him what we were naming Kemma when she found out she was girl, his first response was like the tea?

Cracker's name is Graham. Pretty self explanatory on that nickname, but it fit right in with Kemma's, so it stuck.

Tons of energy here, but usually I am at the computer when Graham is sleeping in my lap and Kemma is playing, or late at night, after they are in bed.

Plus, hubby works nights, so he is up with us in the morning, and I try to get some computer time in then, too. They are both really good at playing together and if I have to get up to handle them, I will.

I used to use the computer as my access point for adult interaction when my kids were little -- of course that was a decade ago and things have changed a bit online since then! Still, it was nice to have anything to do that wasn't bunny or car related.
