as the first flipper i say absolutely NO doc-in-the-box at walmart! ever
yeah, wha is that? and is he a single doc?
Well Helen, it would make it a LOT less personal for guys when they put on that latex glove.
doc in a box? gynecologist?
the whole doc?
what is a doc in the box? is this a joke?
rennie - you know - a clinic, actually at the walmarts now they have only a nurse-practitioner who can only treat a specified # of illnesses - you pay $45 up front
oh!
That just doesn't seem right.
it will leave only the time-consuming problems for your md or internist & their prices will spike - you watch
this is a horrible idea
it was just on nite-line - it's making me very mad - this short-sighted greed of wal-mart
sounds like mac doctor
okay - thanks for letting me blow off steam - going back to the grid now
Morning dear gang
yes lib -that's what it is - wait until the first big mapractice suit, we'll see
I hope they fall flat on their face.

hi jilli!
hi all - how're you doing (aside from sprite)?
struggling, jilli -- stalled at 90
still too hot to peek in the kiln :(
what are you firing, krys?
hi jilli! hi again all!
first time firing the new kiln - glass tile 7" x 7"
off to find something trekky
started 9 hours ago
gas or electric?
electric skutt hotstart
what cone do you take it to?
those craft shows always compress the time so much, it makes you think everything happens so fast!
yup, with the "16 hours later" in small print :)
Babbling Babble Babblers
hi colhad!
hi Fran
um, no cones in this kiln i think. soak at 800 for 40 mins on the way up, hold at 1465 for 10 minutes, anneal at 900 for 10 minutes, then cool and wait
Hi Colhad
hello Angb
I used an electric skutt, but I was firing pottery at ^6
i mean, nan, i haven't had to figure out what cones are since the firing programs are preset and i'm still brand-new at this
omg, the ghanaian currency is in the grid
angb, i love your icon!
hi colhad
hi ramix!
you need an electronic kiln sitter, krys!!!!
hello ARB]
or is that what you got?
this one is made for glass especially (elements in the lid)
??
hi Fran
it has a programmer, I'm just running downstairs every hour to see if it is below 100 so I can open it without cracking my piece
it's at 259 deg. F now
yep -- been there, done that!
v. excited, first piece and all!
what kind of kiln do you use now?
I bet -- hope it comes out OK
Kiln opening is always exciting --- especially the part where you hope that those little popping sounds didn't mean a crack!
quitting for the night at 95 -- may see some of you tomorrow :)
see you!
bye nan!
night nan!
somebody please click on this icon and see if it works
i am fading fast, too. going to call it a night. see ya later!
works great jili
works great, jilli. that's a hoot!
yeah it does jilli - live ong and prosper
cool jilli!

gail - yours works too! Is that how you feel about babble?
fran - yours is beautiful
thanks jilli!
heh heh, i've never clicked on your icon before gail! funny.
are they animated? I'm obviously missing something...
krys, you have to see the animation in their profile.
yeah, i did look at the profiles but the animation didn't kick in. using safari...
i object! why cant the plural of moose be meese?
works in firefox! cute :)
i say it is ramix!
thank you fran!
so animations don't work with safari? I must tell my mac freinds who are constantly gloating -- teehee
might be unique to babble - dr_god works hard to get compatibility with firefox and safari but usually his priority seems to be firefox
phantom - people
eeny meeny arent words? come on!!!
um ramix, there are no M words. :-)
*all excited* you mean miney is????
the 9's are a doozy!!
but i agree, they should works

oh jilli! you sweetie you!! I changed back to the cat!
there can't be any uf words X-(
aw, i missed it
i see limecat, which icon is supposed to be up mrp?
put lickety back!
uffish
damn, we can't have loogie :(
i had to empty cache to see all the current icons, and when i did i lost lickety
ufool
the cat is supposed to be there!! ok, will put the other beast back up
sorry to cause trouble!
colhad, take the G out and spell it with a different ending also.
I am not!!
hold your breath, girls!
ok, back for an encore....
jilli, the u word is a 9 and it sort of fits with today's theme.
i am strugglimg with the o's. i just have the one oo and 4 ols.
ahh yeh, I think you speak of the lo5/12, I am indeed in posession of that word
see what I mean?
*SWOON!!!
no colhad, lo5/14, lo5/10 and lo6/18
yup, dreamy. both of you :)
ahh yeh, ty Fran
yw col!
colhad - is that you in the icon?
ok, I better go get the kids ready for dinner!! catch you all later!!
later!
tis me in the flesh :)
but it's a bit distorted, I shrunk it in PSP7
later mrp!
colhad, we should collaborate - I'm a bridge fan, railroad bridges included
mmmm, colin! but are there crocs in that pool behind you?
heh, always been into rail
actually, I'm led to belive that river does have crocs, didn't see any when I was there, my sister took it in Western Queensland
krys - I just got back from duplicate bridge
does anyone know what the other 8 starts with? i have the oo8.
starts with s
oo!
related to se5/12
thanks krys!
i am officially stuck at 104
jill - i think we've talked about duplicate bridge before - where you redo bridge games or something? made no sense to me :)
those clues were flying earlier, i thought there had to be about 10 8-letter words!!
what do you need help with ramix??
Fireworks
yay arb!!!!!
big pat on the back for ARB, and I'll shout you a beer too :)
six minutes until i check the kiln again, 14 words to go...
wtg arb
red wine preferred, Colhad
oh yes, I remember now -- look into it - it's fun because if you get lousy hands so do the others but.. it's what you do with whatchya got, never mind how muchya got and you can still win!
WWOOOO ARB!!!!!
Duplicate bridge can be cutthroat rivalry -- but a real boost to the adreneline
Hello everyone. I've been watching the chat hoping this clue would pop up. I guess I need to beg. Can anyone clue me the oo8 and the ne9?
the both have the same ending, meaning "study of"... lots of clues posted in eh log about 90 minutes ago
ne9, the studies of "new" things
study of ets - uf9
both words end with the suffix "the study of" in plural. the suffixes are 7 letters long.
Thanks ramix, but I have the u9
oo the study of oos (heh)
ha
har de har ramix :-)
whats an oo you ask?
Thanks all. They're pretty simple once you know what to look for. So, how's everyone tonight?
OK, I'll be straightman. What's an oo
yes ramix, what's an oo?
good mkl! how about you?
an oo, its what a texan calls a female sheep
fine thank you, mkl.
hahaha ramix
Not bad overall. I'm down to 20, and that was my first plea for help. SO, getting better at this.
yes, it does get easier as you learn all the weird ones that show up over and over again.
do any other words ends in that suffix?
there's an o/7 as well
No, guess they couldn't
the ol 7
el 7/36 ends with the last part
What a stupid word. That's like making ier a word.
thanks arb!
phantom: siege
nite all...it's midnite here and i have work in the morning.
night ramix!
General hint -- lots of ie and ey endings to words
nite ramix - me too
Thanks for the help. Closed out the 9s. I have one more 8 to go. 18 total.
all done! off to check the kiln. have a good night/day, everyone!
Hey - how's the puzzle? Worth me starting? Two eights and 2 nines with only 154 words - akkk!
matty - so far it's quite fun
hi matty! i'm the wrong one to ask, i play all of them no matter what!

oh good.

night rennie!!
hi rennie - nite rennie - and I must go too so nite all
night jilli!
just tried one more and ... floosey is not in the dictionary! Our pal flosey may be happy to hear that
Fran - you're still here - have cooked and eaten dinner and come back.
Angb - congrats on finishing your Masters!!!!
hi angb! it's only 9:20
i left and ate also a while back.
I missed the chat - did that quake affect you at all?
we felt it angb and the power was out most of the day and into the night for some in Oahu, but the big island got the worst of it.
Do you have many quakes i.e. on a fault line? Like many I know of your volcanoes so I guess so
of course i went through an 8.1 in Guam back in ninety-three, so this was mild in comparison.
actually angb, strong earthquakes are rare in Hawaii
8.1. geez - that is big
there is no fault line, the volcanic activity is from a "hot spot"
I repeat - ANGB - congrats on finishing your Masters!
yes, it was huge and scary!!!
We have a lot here - but smallish and usually out at see.
you better say hi to jilli!! :-)
Thanks Jilli - I appreciate that - but it ain't finished till I get that pass mark - But I wil pass (wishful thinking here).
of course you will angb!
was it your master's or doctorate?
Well, you had it in your profile, so I didn't want to ignore it -- now I'm off to bed
oh, master's, just read your profile.
night jilli!!
Jilli - I apologise - am celebrating a little here and missed your first post. Thanks again. Am a little like a stunned mullet. Oops - do you have any idea what that is or is it a Kiwisim
Nite Jilli
Anyone found the se8,50 yet?
maybe angb has it?
Can I find the se let alone the other 6 letters LOL
a kiwism, I think -- but maybe that's what I am right now -- it sounds a bit fishy -- ?
Yep - a mullet is a fish
i love mullet
It's lovely baked in foil as it is so oily.
good simile - and I MUST go or I'll be flapping around all day tomorrow like a stunned mullet :)
It is not particularly loved in NZ - but I like it
*poof*

Good morning all - let me guess, the first half of the grid is nice and the second isn't?
good morning Haz:)

Well, at least it is a reasonable size again.
too many Es adn Os though!
Hi haz and ata
Hello angb!
hi ang!
Has anyone got the list? Would like to know what the u word is if you can help - it must be unusual
uf 9/90
9!!!!!!!!!!
Oh goodie!!!!!! Thx M3 I think.
yes i tripled checked too x
I was saying to myslef gee - I don't know any 4 letter u words with those2nd letters - but 9 yeh right!
wow
u have a clue for that one M3??
its a STUPID word
It is NOT ufaloosey LOL
lol ang
the other 9 is an NE 9/ 66 and there is an oo 8/50
nearly Ang, in sound anyway!
no i dont have a clue sorry and i dont expect to find it either xx
the U is the plural study of outer space creations
Another wine - then I am going to let my fingers dance on the keyboard in a drunken manner - has as much chance of finding those words as any !!!!!
OK ata I think I may have the first 3 letters now - head down!
I have it - thnx ata. How did you know that - I am now concerned for your mental health.
That also led to the oo
And the ne Thanx to you all. I'll have a coffee in stead of the wine.
The weakened chils of Adam and Eve Born of the newness nature weaved
um. I saw the ending and looked what fitted with the U!
We travelled with the mists of time To where our past was caught in rhume
Aaah - I was earlier trying the TV award word - you'd think I would have tried it as an ending
And forest totems stood around Great stones from within the ground
Mornin' Angb,Atalante, marso, Haz and all. Nice size grid today...how goes it?
hi odin :)
morning odin:)
Hi Odin - started beaut - now hmmmmm
hey everybody. can anybody give me a clue for eg7 ?
Hey marso.
Good morning Odin - it's a nice grid, so far. Quite a few words from previous grids.
Mornin' Angb and Haz
Hey jean...how are you?
e67 - being without a strong sense of self.
eg7 I mean
Im fine thanx odin, hope you are well
thanx
thanks haz - amazing
You're welcome!
ack, I always forget that one!
Couldn't be better...fresh grid, ot coffee, and good company. Who could ask for more at 4:30 in the morning!
cheers haz
I would ask for sleep at 4.30 in the morning!
lol thats good to hear odin, guess you cannot sleep then, or was the grid calling you
4.30 Odin - what? I don't think I have ever seen 4.30 am
Have to get an early start or can't get back to it after work...up at this hour merely to Babble and visit.
The lengths a true Babbler goes to.
Well, you're very welcome!
I do my best Babbling at this hour Angb...it's a state of mind and sleep is over rated!
Yes ... I am endeavouring to train my body and mind to beleive that. There is hope - I hear that as you get older you need less - that should be soon.
Not suggesting though that you are old Odin.
That's called back pedalling!
Or digging oneself out of a hole!
I thought so too Haz!
Hmmm - the dangers of virtual chatting
right im afraid that i must away, got people coming over tonight so need to muck out the house lol, have a good day everyone:)
See ya jean
I am in my mid life years but have only rrequired minimal sleep since I was a child.
Later jean!
I bet your parents loved you....
you too Odin have a good day
Bye Jean - don't forget to clean the kitchen cupboards. Visitors look everywhere (in our imagination)
Odin - I have heard that that can be good and bad. I was a definite 8 hour a nite person. Getting a little less after having children.
And MY more mature years
The put me on the other side of the house and left me to enjoy the wee hours on my own. I manage to feel like I am sleeping in after 6 hpours...never can make 7 or 8 and survive quite nucely for days on 4 to 5.
Oh Haz thats blown it I usually just chuck it all in the cupboards lol
I can't type worth a damn though at this hour...
Was this the case even when you were a teenager? Most of them look like the walking dead for years.
right really am going now
Have a good day, jean!
Did homework, read...rather liked the quiet and yes it was since I was a teen.
Good morning all.:)
Mornin' Jac
And here's another night-owl!
Hi Jacula
I hope you're sitting down, Haz? I have to tell you I was in bed for 10.15pm last night!
Good grief! What on earth happened?
Or maybe I shouldn't ask.....
I think a day digging, planting, shifting pots etc., tired me out.
LOL, Haz.
That would explain it. Are you stiff and sore this morning?
No more so than usual, Haz.
That's good. More gardening today or have you put it to bed for the winter?
More of the same today, so I'm glad the grid's not too big. The ironing also lurks.:(
Ah yes, the ironing. How big a pile today (got my measuring hands ready)
Fireworks for me. and the second day without having to ask for clues from the group. I will take a nother modest bow. Anyone need clues?
How's everyone getting on with the grid?
Well done svso
Congratulations svso.
Just finished and didn't hgave to ask for clues for the second day in a row.
The grid is nice Jacula - so far!
Haz - Ironing is 2' high again, but more to add off airer.
Well done, svso!
78 left here (words, that is).
If no one wants clues, I will sign off.
I'm okay thanks, svso.
Done the measuring - you'll get up a nice head of steam coping with that lot. (Now I'm starting to worry that I mustn't be a good housewife. I never have THAT much ironing in one go)
hi all, grid isn't too bad so far
See you svso - I need so many words I don't know where to start but thnx for the offer
would you like the se9. its rather difficult?
Haz - How many in your house to launder for? Four here.
I'll take the se9 clue, thanks
Excuse me I mean the se8.
there isn't an SE9
Three at the minute - daughter is the chief contributor to the pile.
I'll take the se8 clue, LOL
Mornin' Pap
Haz - Same here re daughter!
se8 has to do with a part of the flower, not the pe***. but the se*** and add the ending that means like.
hi odin, how's the weather on your coast, awesome here
thanks, will work on it
Thank you, svso.:)
can anybody offer any clues on the two 9 letter words greatly appreciated
thanks svso
The best! 82 yesterday and fairly windy...finally Fall in Florida
uf9 means the studies of little green men from other planets.
ne9 could be the studies and knowledge of the hero of "The Matrix".
TY svso
Thanks twice more, svso.:)
Yw, btw it was a little overcast here in Santa Monica, but pleasant.
thanks svso i've never heard of the uf9
Yw Jacula, its nice to give YOU clues for a change. It doesn't happen very often.
Pleasant weather was a long time coming to Florida
solo
soloes
svso - They were very good clues - I had no problem getting those 3 words.
Well, you are the champion clue maker!
I'm flying to chicago for the weekend, had to buy a warmer jacket, it's going to feel weird going into 40s and 50s after 80s
Agreed - and they weren't spelled out!
Ahhh...but a treat Pap.
any more requests?
Chicago is one of my favorite cities.
yeah the 8 letters word if u dont mind im new to this game#
If Carter from ER really lived in Chicago, it would be my favourite city as well.
Pappou, Chicago in October may fool you. Every so often you get a nice warm spell, the famous Indian summer of the midwest.
LOL Haz
Handsome, rich and caring. What more could you ask for?
we have friends that live there part of the year and my mom is going to visit for 2 weeks, I'm flying her up because she needs wheelchair assistance
The poor thing though is having shortness of breath because she
oles
she's starting to get anxious about being away
oo8 is the study and knowlege of ova.
I already clued the se8.
Good your going with her pap.
Thanks again, svso. I got the oo word even though I was distracted by Hunter Cat licking my heel. Aargh, it tickles! Gerroff!
yw again.
lol Jac! I know that feeling!
well, i have 85 left, need to get ready for work, see you all later
(I'll swear that cat's got a foot fetish. I daren't say what he does to my shoes if I leave them within his grasp.)

Hi Ata.
Sorry!
Not your fault, Haz. Chat's on a go-slow.
So not mea culpa then?
Nope!
el7/36 - poems or songs that lament the dead. (Just thought I'd chuck a random clue in.)
ol7/36 - branches of learning. (Maureen Lipman once said, as the Jewish mum in a BT advert, that if you've got one of these, the world is your oyster. Or words to that effect.)
'You've got an 'ol**y? You're a scientist!'
Haz - That was it! LOL.
I think she's great! Anyway, time to take a break, back later.
I agree, Haz. (re ML) See you later.
Byee!
Later Haz

114 down, 40 to go. Time for a break. BBL.
Morning folks. Jacula, what is that icon? Scary.
Wouldn't you know it? I say I'm taking a break & then see a whole bunch of words. Down to 34 now.
Hi Scrabbler. It's Spock's face on a pumpkin.
Yes, now I see him there.
I am trying to knock off a few words before work. I don't have much time, unless I want to be late.
See you later Scrabbler. It's not a bad grid... so far.
Bye--have a good day.
You, too, Scrabbler. Byee.
Yeah for the Brits--lo4 is a word!
Am I the only one here now?
The toilet one, you mean? Comes from 'gardez l'eau!' (In the Middle Ages, they used to chuck the contents of their chamber pots out of the upper storey windows...
No, I'm still here.
Oh, that is where it is from--French?!
no im also still here - down to 28 left probably stinkers - think i'll do some work and come back later
They also did that in 18th century London. Yes, from the French, Scrabbler.
OK, I really do have to go even though I would rather attack the grid. I found 23 so far--I will try to finish tonight.
See you two later, Scrabbler & ursh. Enjoy your days.

la4/5 - circuits of a race course. la5/12 - break in time? la6/21 - plural of that.

le4/5 - jump or the type of year that happens every 3 years.
le5/12 - verb form of the jump word.
its the lo's I am having problems with
le4/4 - sediment.

Okay Andree - lo4/7 - block of bread.
ty for the sponge.
lo4.6 think Aust TV awards and plural
lo4/6 what you burn in the fireplace
lo5/10 not tight, and past and plural
lo5/10 and lo5/14 sound like king of France (the Sun King)
Don't forget to add a vowel to the start of the la (break in time) words.
keep forgetting all those s's....
lo6.18 *2 - change the last letter
le sediment? I have to think about that one..
lo + shape of a snake
Wolvie - sounds like a number of Bruces or Christophers. (Think kung fu & Dracula).
TY Une - picked up quite a few
oh - I have that. LOL - no idea it was for sediment.
Wolvie - you've never made wine then?
nope. just vinegar. :-)
Hello all. Anyone have a clue for the di6/27 pls?
Oh dear! You forgot to put a plug of cotton wool in the top of the gloopy thing, didn't you, Wolvie?

hi jac
Hi chj.
Good afternoon all. Back for some more words.
Hi, Haz.
hi haz, hi chj
i need the sp6/7 combo
i actually wondered if that was going to have something to do with that word...
Hi Haz. I'm just finishing my coffee break from the garden.
hi haz
hi wolvie
Ah, so you haven't been here the whole time, Jacula?
chj - sp6/21 - body organ we can do without but bleed to death if it gets injured. sp7/40 - sp6/21like.
Haz - No.
chj add sometimes vowel to sp6,
If have finished though, Haz.:))
sp6 is a body organ
Well done! Are you on clue duty then?
di 6/21?
thanks jac
I am Haz. (Scroll back for lots!)
di6/21 - lorry fuel.
eg7?
last lo5/12 please
eg7 - without your 'self'
i was sure splooey was a word
thanks
Andree - sounds like the Sun King of France.
ty charm
and 3 lo6/18's, clues for any please
Or se4/7...
Everyone seems to be ey7/36 over that di6/21!
said a word - sorry - into the penalty box with my cofee.
there are some words with that ending chj...
i was shocked that splooge wasnt a word
el7/36?
all 3 lo6/18's begin with anita lo**
gee I missed that, Charm -- say again ? :)
why isn't lego a word
time passes, shmoo
el7/36 - poems or songs that lament the dead.
one ends with past tense; one with a printers measure and one with *z-pass
thanks Jac
It's a trademark/copyright and therefore not accepted by enable.
kthdsn - Because it's a brand name.
ty jac
oops - wrong 7 - sorry
oh ok
lego my ego
thx all
chj means eggo :D
chj - then you'd be eg7/36!;)
someone could be holding chj's ego hostage for a ransom (of syrup)
no i meant ego
hahaha
Do you suppose if the sun king got sticky he would be known as go5/18 lo5/14?
LOL Haz.
another clue for the songs that lament the dead?
why isnt loosey a word for loosey go6/30
plural of poem title "El*** for the Brave"
Grey wrote a famous one in a country churchyard.
"you make ma feel real LO5 like a long-necked GO5 -- oh baby thats-a what i like!"
cauz - Wordsworth wrote a famous one? Elgar composed a famous one.
having trouble with anita lo?
Plural British toilets gets you the same.
floosey should be a word
jerry lee was on letterman last week with neil young
Andree, I think that needs a 'z'
thx haz
I agree andree - i tried that right off
You (thankfully) won't have heard of Rebecca of the same name either.
clues for the ge7's?
Andree - If you don't make a profit, you make a lo**. Stick a vowel in the middle of that word.
i don't know how mwny times i tried that word andree!
i think "floo" oughtta be a real word -- a la harry potters floo powder!
thanks...kept putting an O instead of a second E
Evan - I agree.
anita lo** or what they call bathrooms in britain
ewwwwwwwww Rebecca L***. awful woman!
I know - I even thought twice about mentioning her.
who is she why is she awful
ge5/14 is a type of plaster. The ge7's are past tense and plural. (Word sounds like 'estimate'.)
She has built a 'career' out of allegedly having an affair with a married man.
See if you can gu*** the words now, schmoozeann.
jac over here we pronounce it with a hard gee
Sorry, schmoozeannE.
sounds like a great career :S
as if it were spelled with a J
Still got your name wrong! Think it's time I went back to gardening. Will pop back later, maybe.
bet she did actually have an affair with him though. but to make a living out of it? please ...
bye jac
got 'em, thanks!
chj - So do we. I should have said 'looks like', not 'sounds like'. Apologies! I'm off up the garden path now. Byeee.
I didn't - any help on that ge stuff shmooz?
i got 'em, wolvie
20 left, will finish tomorrow, thank you all for the clues, happy babbling
Can you imagine if she had children 'Why were you famous, mummy?'
I know shmooz - I did not get them and was asking for help. ;-)
think lasso
Wolvie - la**** (cowboy rope) but change the 1st 2 letters.
thanks schmooz!
ahhh - thanks shmoo & charm

I can't find my last D, are they all di's?

Yes, they are all di words.
Oh, Wolvie, still have 16 left....
I meant just for the L's, charm. :-)
=8-)

ne9/66 = study of new things. pl. oo8/50 = study of oo things !! pl.
oooooo. ;-0
o7/36 = study of things. pl.
eeny meeny miny mo hello, hello, hello! Bet we all had the same first word today
Hey, Ankh!
hi ankh!
Hello, Wolvie, Charm, Haz, Evandine, All!
Hello Ankhorite!
Hey, Haz, when Madonna did her naked photo book, I thought the same thing: "She's going to have kids some day, and how will she explain this?"
And is that you in your icon, I trust? Cute family!
Hey, Wolvie! I didn't realize ... were you okay during the fire?
I know. I can't quite get my head around her latest adoption. And yes, that is my family, my eldest daughter's graduation. The younger one isn't there, though.
don't talk about Madonna and kids ... I feel saturated by the subject!
yes ma'am - thanks for asking!
Hi, Atalante, of course. :)
Wolvie, did they figure out... it's not arson, is it?
Okay, list of taboo subject subjects. Madonna, Rebecca whatsherface, Cherie Blair - any others?
she is just 99% of the news here today *facepalm*
ooo how did Cherie get in there? missed that
I'm glad I don't watch/read the news if that's what it's about
I just don't like her either!!!
thats certainly fair enough!!!!
And she has bound to have said or done something controversial. It's been about a week.
well overdue
Hi, all! I'm back from Iowa. I had a hard time babbling while traveling. I'd get in the airport and not know how to get on line 8( So much to learn.
hi gramma
Pfftth, I have no sympathy for you Brits with your Blairs, look at the mess WE have to put up with! Yikes! In terms of "open mouth, extrude toad" surely U.S. politicians are world leaders...
looks like an accident, ankh
hey gramma
How goes the Babble Battle ?
good day to everyone :)
Hi abe.
THanks, Wolvie, some comfort at least.
Mornin', Abe.
hi abe!
Hello abe!
*thinks "meese" really should be plural of "mouse"*
If you click on my icon, you will see what makes me happy
Hi Charm, Ankh, Wolvie, Haz...nice grid today!
and greese should be pl of grouse?
It is indeed - long enough to be interesting, not so long as to be a chore.
Hey, Ankh, everyone knows meese is the plural of moose, not mouse.
Darn, Vicuna... there is that, isn't there?
YES, Charm, that's great!
I'm just hoping faeriekae isn't around - doesn't she have a phobia about mice?
Gramma, grandbaby? Beautiful girl!
Gramma, we know from your very NAME what makes you happy!
TY bunny. I love to hear it!
the last sp6/7 please???
Eleanor is lovely, gramma!
Don't know about faeriekae, Haz. Charm, we say mongeese at our house, not mongooses. And platypi, not platypuses.
I'm going to have another one in March 8)
How often do you talk about mongeese at your house?
sp6 - an organ of the body and its adjective
We also have hippopotami....
hippotami as well? or hippotamuses?
I knew I missed a PO out in there!
Or, as my son says: hippls.
I'm back, got kicked offline just then
He also says Home Depl and Office Depl.
welcome back kthdsn
Haz, I've never heard of sp as an adjective. That's weird
thanks, Haz! Almost missed that in the chat passing by me. done. clues before I go?
I can't imagine it's a medical term. Must be more like Elizabethan humors.
Hippls is nice, but we'll stick by hippopatomi. Oh, we talk about mongeese too much, no doubt, as Dear One likes snakes.
mmmmmm.....oatmeal.....
I know - the sp7 adds the sometimes vowel to make it an adjective. I just can't imagine using it.
YAY Charm!
Congrats to you Charm!
means someone who is tempermental...
If you like snakes, I would think mongeese would be taboo! :)
I'd bet the adjective is an archaic use for crabby person.
The doctor comes in and says " I'm sorry to tell you but your sp6/21 looks rather sp7. We'll have to operate"
That's right, Vicuna, that's how they come up! Well, sometimes. And sometimes, they come out of talking of our friend's ferrets.
Those elizabethans loved bodily functions: spleen, bile, blooding, liverish....
But, Doctor, isn't my sp6 SUPPOSED to be sp7???
well guys - must be off and doing - bbl to finish - have fun!!
eeeew
morning all!
charm said a word! *neener, neener!*
Bye, Wolvie! Glad you're okay
charm - snap. ;-0
Another word for Charm - back to the penalty box....
bye Wolvie, thanks for the help
Mornin', Laurel.
Bye, Wolvie
hi and bye laurel
Back to the penalty box....
there's a penalty box?
bye wolvie
And I've been a permanent resident of it today.
A virtual one for those who post words accidentally.
oh I see
Atalante is the current British record holder for residence in the penalty box.
gah!
help with the Ns?
can I have clues for the Y's, I just can't find them
Think of dog noises, or when you open an unwelcome bill.
ne9/66 = study of new things.
y4 and 5 - noise a dog makes when you step on its tail
ne4/7 = ne + **s, ands, buts.
or when you write a word by mistake
ne4/5 = ne + Auntie ** (Wizard of Oz). and pl
ty lol my brain isn't working today
I blame the weather
thanks charm! those were driving me bonkers!
(its a very short trip!)

bye Charm
Bye charm! Inge - if she comes in we'll be sure to let her know that you were asking.
bye chrrm
thanks
Bye Charm!
Evan, sometimes a place where boats can come in is called a key (like Florida Keys) and sometimes it's a qu**, which can be spelled either of two ways.
hello people
Hi, Jonny
quey
sorry didnt put my mouse back on the word pad
it happens ( :
flap
can someone clue the el6
A lot ..
*tosses jonny a small stinky fish* we all do it; we all get fish thrown at us
Often!
el6 - plural lament for the dead
Sorry - that was el7 - el6 relates to the passage of time
Why isn't "splooge" a word?!
k ty Haz
I'm just grateful "loogie" isn't.
hello. splooge would make a fine word, I agree.
Ooh, Haz, I missed the lament, thanks.
lol
You're welcome!
I don't have the lament one, I'm having a thick moment...
Think of the poem Grey wrote in a country churchyard, and pluralise it.
Kth, it's not a eulogy, but it's not far from it, either.
Txs, Haz, I was trying to come up with that but my eddikashun failed me! :)
ah got it ty
Not to worry!
can't believe it won't take floosey...
can someone fill me in with the funny letter things like "e16" cause im new
down to 25 words, got 40 mins left at work, hope I can do it in time!
how many today, btw?
154
jonny - for explanations, go to Angelsong's babble page, under Friends of Babble at the bottom of the page. It gives all kinds of help. But the most important thing is to find words. The rest slots into place once you see the game working.
yikes, this one's kind of hard!
ta haz
Also, Jonny, just for the most raw, basic help -- look at the grid under the grid, it shows you how many words begin at each letter.
help with my last p? I have 2pa, 6pe, 2pl
There are 7 pe words.
And I have exactly... one of them. *sigh*
pe4/8 is the most strange.
thats the one I'm missing
found it :)
GE5/16 and GE6 (I'm guessing it's plural) Help,please?
I'm missing an A as well, I have 5al and 3ap
6 AL's
ge5/16 adds the 'robot' ending and ge6 is its plural
You're missing an al word
TY
i just need general help im just a kid
jonny - this is quite a nice grid today. Just look for words of four letters of more that touch. You'll get the idea. This takes practice so don't worry about the longer words.
Haz, robot ending? Yes, Jonny, just try for words of four letters that touch in any way. They don't have to be in a line.
how many letter should my al have, I've got three 4s and two 5s
Ank, star trek had androids
Ahh, Gramma, txs
Robot ending as in what goes on the end of andr - - -. Vowel then shortened version of identification.
al4/5
Like c3po and r2d2
Txs, Haz, I'll remember next time; txs Torgone.
Swiss mountains
Ski much, Gramma?
I have that one gramma
..waits..
Clue, please, for the last le5/10.
le5/10 - an angram of what is put into spectacles to help you to see
Ank, I don't ski at all any more. I used to love it
I never did, Gramma, too cold and wet for me... brrr.
Haz, ta
Glad to help.
Finally got my last a
Now I'm stuck on 2gs
I've got 7ge's, 1gi, 9go's, what's left
At least 1 more gi
And a ge.
oh ty tor found them both right away
oops haz I must have miscounted
There are only 8 go words
yw - I still need 10 g's . .
And 8 ge words
NE 9? I'm babbley baffled
gramma, add your ne to your ol7
I just finished my Gs, after like 1/2 hour!
gramma its another study word
ty
20 words to go and 20 minutes left at work, I'm never going to finish this!
ne plus ol7/36.
You're all going to loooooooove the lo words.....
is there such a person called dr god these days cause a used to play this a while ago and he was on the move
hate them already haz, but they are all in teh same vein, so, not as bad
oh no, haz. LOl
Dr-God is still in charge, jonny.
kl just wonderin
I think I "LOOOOOOVED" the Gs more than the LOs
Is SE8 a study also? I cannot seem to get it right.
No, it's like the flower part - extend the se5/12
I'm stuck on the E's, I've for 1eg, 3el and 2ey
There is another eg word to find.
Haz, remember the childrens' song "Step to my Lou"? Well, sepalou is not a word. I'll keep fiddling about w/it
4 ey words
really? are they all to do with seeing?
We always sang 'Skip to my loo' (i don't know if it meant we were all dying to use the facilities, though)
clue for ge7,40?
You're right! It was skip to my loo (or lou) my darling
ey7/36 - not seeing, ey4/6, plural seeing organs, ey4/6 different consonant ending for seeing organ, ey4/6 change round the last letters of the previous one.
ge7/40 - past tense of ge5/14
ty haz, now I'm missine an E from the tile near the top left
i have the ne9 but am stymied on the other 3 ne's please get me on track
Haven't found the ge5,14 yet. That's my last 5 letter word
ge plus a distress signal rearranged
ne4/5 rhymes with what is produced by a kettle and then plural for ne5/12
Okay, enough ! I'm sooo done. Short break and I'll be back to help
kthdsn - without e4?
ne plus Kipling's doubtful poem for ne4/7
lol had that one tor, found the one I needed though ty
I think the fog thismorning clouded my brain :D
isn't it always foggy in England, KT?
not really
Not since the Clean Air Act.
gonna do some laundry and come back later for my last 33
:)
well it's time to go home, I'll be back later for my last 12
Bye - hope you get the rest later.
Laters ladies ..
Kinda quiet . . . . .
then if it's too quiet, I"ll say hello, torgone.
It'll liven up soon enough....
Your daughter is cute in that photo haz.
Hi guys!
clue please for the first ge5/14? I swear I've monkeyed and monkeyed till I"m blue in the face ...
torgone, your gumball machine needs filling...
ge5/14 is french for what you would call jello. It has two vowels at the end.
And breathe, ch1212, nice long breaths.
ch, would the 1st one be the fancy term for jello?
Thanks inge!
oh snap, haz
ahhhhh ..... yes. Thanks, haz!
He's a robot - Tom Servo
oops! torgone, I am not up on my robots.
Good morning Haz, ch1212--are you back in the pink?
In the pink?
I think so, Miss Hetty, although my icon is in the green today in honor of Star Trek
I was asking ch, who had previously turned blue--these chat logs move so fast!
And I am fine as well, although my icon is NOT in honour of Star thingy.
fireworks
Haz, is that your very handsome beloved?
Congratulations, Angelsong!!!
and now I see she's green! Goodness--I can sing a rainbow--
It is indeed.
Your daughter has the best of both of you!
fooey
Why thank you - she takes after her father in looks and personality.
You're a fine-looking family. I thought so yesterday but didn't have time to chat
Miss Hetty, we purchased a New York Times this weekend and I am simply marvelling at the theatre advertisements --- we can't wait to go "into the city" as they say, to see a show. It will be my first Broadway show!
Fooey! Fooey doesn't work ..
but lo*** does...
Other than touring companies, that is ...
Thanks hetty - it was a very happy day for all of us. our younger daughter wasn't able to be there, unfortunately.
Good for you, ch212. Right now I'm directing a marvellous play here on the island, where we have rich artistic culture
My daughter is directing "Little Women" in her community. What show are you doing?
Well, Haz, I think you shouold take a pic of all four of you for us to admire.
My play is oneI waqs in myself 55 years ago! It's called "The Lady's Not for Burning", by Christoher Fry, and has been called the finest Shakespearian play not written by Shakespeare
Of course! "The Lady's Not.." is a wonderful show, and popular too. Good for yoU!
I worked on costumes and lights in college on that show, Miss Hetty
hi all -- YAY angelsong!
I'll have a look for a photo of daughter 2
I played Jennet, being hunted as a witch. Now I'm directing 12 local actors. The play is a fine on for our times, showing the struggles between warmongering and love--the only answer to the world's violence.
Yes, love is indeed the answer. Did you know Mr. Fry was a Quaker? Of course, you could guess that he is a pacifist from his work.
and I'm falling in love all over again with the draft-dodging hero Thomas
hello
hi harp!
How apropo that you are in Canada, too. Oh, I wish I could come see the show. I'm going to miss my daughter's show too, but at least I'll send flowers for opening night. I've done that for all her shows since she was in gradeschool. (She debuted in a Kurt Vonnegut play when she was 3 months old)
Daughter no 2 all dressed up. Refresh if necessary.
I might as well come right out and ask for the U. There's no way I'm going to get a 9 letter word any other way!
WOW, Haz -- she is stunning!
Haz, as suspected, she is just as lovely... :-)
harpjane - the studies relating to flying objects that have not been identified.
harpjane, the study of suspicious ships from the sky
And would you believe that she thinks she has a strange looking face?
Yes, ch1212--how good to share this with you. s an ambulance driver in WWW II Fry had comforted the dying on Dieppe beaches and carried his pacifist principles into the conception of this marvellous proclamation of the redemptive power of love
oh brother..... thank you!
LOL -- that is a strange word, good clue!
Beautifully put, Miss Hetty. I think I may check the play out of the library to re-read. Thank you!
strange looking face for a circus clown, beautiful in any other context, Haz!
Oh harp, what a perfect icon for you today!
I think she is lovely as well, but I'm somewhat biassed!
{{{{Stid}}}}}
thanks chch! I googled spock harp, and there is was.....

yw
any help for us non-French speaking folks?
we call it jelly sounds the same in french
sounds almost the same in English daisy, but with double vowel ending
hetty -- why do we say proverb with a short "o" instead of "prOverb"? Grant was just reading something for me and I couldn't answer his question.
double vowels at end
and starts with a G.... and ;-) got it yet?
oh ok...just a matter of knowing how to spell it...I can barely spell English! lol but I found it. ty all
ROFL don't forget to pluralize it, daisy!
ty for that too, or I would have.

hi inge -- hi magzel!
it builds on the plant part se 5/12 before it
okay, is that the flower part? (I'm not using the list yet)
how many letters does it have?
se 5 is the flower part, se 8/50 the adjective thereof
:-) ends in the "robot" suffix! thanks inge!
last le 5/10?

le 5, like part of an eye or camera, with an extra e in next to last place

I don't have that one, hetty.
I think you want se4/6.
I have se 4/6... but thanks!
there's sp4/5 and 5/12 that sound like a female cat's operation
se4/6 is the look-aloke pudding--rhymes with "e**"
I think you want ANOTHER se4/6. No def, but rhymes with what you've got from your bum to the ground...
se 4/6 - hard skin on hands from too much gardening
My last word is se4/7....after the little pieces. A2Z isn't coming up
se4/7 - me, and myse4
Yup---change last vowel to a snake
Never mind......
yep. that was it, Vi! like parts of an orange. another babblet.

Gotta go - any final clue for the se8 with the Data from STar Trek Ending?

I'm getting really frustrated. that "flower part" clue just isn't working for me, on that se 5/12. the only flower parts I know are stem and petal.
daisy -- uses 4 of the letters contained in petal
daisy, keep the word "petal" then just change the 1st two consonants to something else
tndaisy it sounds similar to petal but if you think of a himalayan country that is probably closer
i think its himalayan!
first lo5/12-last lo word -please
first ge 5/14, please?
just checked - yes its himalayan
well I've monkeyed and everything I come up with just doesn't seem to work...so I'd better just leave it and do some of the others. thanks anyway.

No - it's to do with a card game, but would you have got the word with that clue?
hmm. don't think I would have, haz.
but a memorable clue nonetheless!
Anyway, off to serve dinner.
to do with a card game? I thought it was a rock thing. hmmm I must be missing a word! wah!
it is, atalante. Maybe it has more than one meaning?
oh probably!
still totally... lost
do you have the lo4/4 meaning something that is lost?
what a great lo** is death is to the field of science
the last 4/4?
yes, kc
then stick an E in their after the o
that's the 5/10.... I need the 1st 5/ 12...
Oh, I"m so sorry. The 5/12 is like the past tense of British word for toilet
the lo words have me pulling out my hair....i am missing the last 4/5 combo...
i think
GOT IT. finally! yay me.
i have the british toilet and the state of being lost mssing the on in between i think
The last lo4/4 is not a combo.
that's the lo4/4 I clued earlier, at 12:42 TO
fireworks! *looks for whish broom*
after that is a lo5/6 combo, jazz musician Armstrong and his plural
yay!
Hooray TO!
thanks, tor !
I could use some help with the first sp6/21 (not the body organ)
and the very last so (so5/14)
s+ pa4/5?
plural
so5/14: pig call
duh, missed the plural! tx Owl
anyone else?
last word: so5/14?
tx again Owl! Missed your clue
yw! bye everyone! see you tomorrow!
pig call! *boggles*
bye Owl! tx for the help!
cya TO!
I need the first le5/14, any clues?
haha, it's true ata! Here in the midwest!
ata - need a translation? LOL!
ermmmmm yes please!
so5/14 could also be alt spelling for chop su---
kt, like your lower body parts, but stick in another vowel before the final letter
ty inge
oh gosh. do pigs respond to this interesting word?
I think they have pig-calling contests with this word.
ata: like the lo5/14
think deliverance
Only if they find the caller attractive!
lol vi!
Hello, could I get a clue for the ge5/16?
I'm having wonderful visions of pig-calling contests now
They're a hoot!
you've been there, done that torgone?
love the icon vi...jane what's yours?
midwest? is arizona in the midwest? I'm going there next year. Now it is my aim to find a pig calling contest
I've seen some . .Never participated though ..I couldn't yell loud enough!
must really be funny to watch
lol ata! of all the things!
Thanks, TO. (It's left over from whenever the theme was "flight.")
Arizona is the Southwest. I have no idea whether they have pig calling contests there! On the other hand, they may have cow chip throwing contests instead.
i really must go! until tomorrow everyone! : )
Goodbye, TO!
cows ... hmmm .... nope. pig calling sounds more amusing
bye all! jane if you're still looking for the ge5/16, it's a rock word: ge + last 3 letters of what Data on Star Trek is (andr***)
and plural
mine is spock, playing a vulcan harp. still waiting patiently for ge5/16....
never mind, got the clue now.
Nice harp tie-in, harp!
does the very last go 6 build off the poultry one?
go6/27 - there are four of them in the New Testament
i take it that's a NO on the poultry? lol, thanks
I'm not enough of a Biblical scholar to know how many poultry there are in the New Testament! :)
more than four, I'd guess!
hi everyone!
Hello, Annieb.
Hi annie ..
hi torgone and vicuna
Fireworks! Yay!
what's the first se4/7, I can't make it work
congrats, remluc
oh nm finally got it
couldn't see for looking!
I was just battling that one myself, kate ..
did you find it tor?
le5/10?
When I figured out how to make another 7 point word ..
ok. I can't find this for the life of me... the first se 4/7
le5/10 - looks like pl of stand at an angle
I mean, sounds like.
fireworks at last!
Hooray kate!!
hello, how many words are there?
congrats, kth!
the first se4/7 is like the one after it but change the 3rd letter
$1.54
Yay for kth!
(kc, you have to start with the lower left s to make it work.)
got it. thanks kthdsn
1st se4/7 is like the other but with 2 vowels
anyone need any clues before I go?
go6/27 oo8 and sc5?
I'd like to nkow how many words there are, if yuo wouldn't mind
154 words
thank you
go6/27 - there are four of them in the New Testament
there are two go6/24, one is the past tense of the bird, the other is part of the bible
sc5 - segment of a play, or something to view
the oo8 is another studies word
YAY!!! fireworks!

Afternoon Babblers!
Hi Judy!
Hi Annie!
Fireworks! That two days running
wahoo exwren!
Now what am I going to do. Can't go downstairs, there is football on the box!
congrats, exwren!!
hi everyone, can someone clue the le 5/10? I just can't see it.
the 2nd pe4/5 and the 1st pe 5/12?
hi skala
don't have any of them, sigh
le 5/10- like part of your glasses, add an extra vowel
ty abe
second pe 4/5- legendary soccer star on the ny cosmos
yw Natasha
abe, didnt even look for that pe--thought it was a proper name
first pe 5/12, plural of soccer (/ football) star
fl 6/33 and 6/27?
hi yammay
annie- apparently it means some kind of tower for protection- it's an alternate spelling (i remember it by the soccer player)
abe, thanks, looked it up and it still says soccer player, the tower is peel but I'm happy- 2 more down
cauz- they are alternate spellings of each other- start with illness/ extreme cold
Annie- I guess Pe 4/5 was legendary enough to make it into Enable!
abe, what dictionary are you referring to?
Annie- i clicked on the 'question mark' next to the word on my list
abe, I am so computer illiterate that I don't know how to access Enable, please enlighten me!!!
Hi, everyone, how are you doing???
Hi Jai! Happy Tuesday
abe, Is THAT enable...when you click on the question mark...that I happily can do
hi jai
thanks abe
i need fl 6/33 please
fl6/33 is ka-fl****, sometimes spelled ph. A blowing it up sound.
Annie- i believe that it is, although sometimes you click on it and get no definition!
yw cauz
Yeah...Ty, Abe- Tuesday.....the weather here is atrocious- we had 40+ mph winds last nite...ugh....Blew all the tarps off my holey roof....ZLucky me....
abe, thanks!
actually, clicking on the question box takes you to dictionary.com . . .
yw Annie. sorry to hear that Jai. did you have a leak?
Une, hi, and is dictionary.com and enable one and the same
Oh, yes, but we finally are going to get the money to fix the roof...Hooray!!!!!
that is the 6/27, i need the 6/33 unless i am misunderstanding the clue
oooohh, thanks Une. they must have changed their layout b/c it looks different than i remembered.
magzel- change last two letters (alternate spelling) to get the 6/33
It's only been how long since Katrina???? LOL
I hope you can get your roof fixed soon!
this is ENABLE: ENABLE stands for "Enhanced North American Benchmark LExicon." It's a carefully researched and meticulously compiled combination of many other dictionaries (such as Merriam Webster 10th Edition and the Official Scrabble Players Dictionary). The full ENABLE dictionary includes approximatively 250,000 words.
Jai, sorry about your tarps--we had some wild and woolly wind here as well
Ty- we are doing it ourselves, after a year of trying to find somebody to do it....Big project ahead....
une - yeah, and it still doesnt take 'fest'!!!!!
Une, thank you!!!!
oh, i know! it's soooo illogical
Ty, Une- where are you?
Nashville, tN
many babblets live in ENABLE...
or zoot
Ahh, then you didn't escape the big front, either...
gidday Babbloids
DAchef, long time no see!
lo 6/18's anyone?
Hello, Col!
and 'oche' - the run up to a dart board. That one always gets me.
could have done without the wind but the wet stuff was VERY welcome!
gidday Jai
lo6/18 to make less tight
une - I'm still alive. call off the search party. I found myself under the sofa. Must have been there a while.
thanks--need the one right next to that as well
Glad you got some rain, Une...I definitely didn't need it, but the plants do...
Amber alert now cancelled, Dachef
oh wait, do you know about amber alerts?
ooh, lookee what i learn, i have an oche!
amber alerts? Isnt that when you have to change your aunderpants?
eeewwww!!!
ewww no
heh cool icon Dachef, Muttley
LOL< Dachef...that's when a kid has been kidnapped...named fora little girl named Amber...
natasha, lo 6/18 after make less tight is a plural of tight
you mean a plural of NOT tight?
oh i thought it was named for the color of the lights they put on the highway signs for the alert, i learn 2 things in 2 minutes!
ty again abe
yep, named after Amber Hagerman
(sorry, plural of not tight)
is it not star trek day?
i haven't been paying attention to themes. if it is, i go change.
The AMBER Alert System began in 1996 when Dallas-Fort Worth broadcasters teamed with local police to develop an early warning system to help find abducted children. AMBER stands for America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response and was created as a legacy to 9-year-old Amber Hagerman, who was kidnapped while riding her bicycle in Arlington, Texas, and then brutally murdered. Other states and communities soon set up their own AMBER plans as the idea was adopted across the nation.
oh lookee at abe's pic of edith. they won an emmy for that episode you know.
first go 6/27?
'tis star trek day. an emmy for that episode? wow...(must go impress hubby with new star trek knowledge)
cauz- past tense ending on bird (also means to grab one's rear)
(to grab someone else's rear, actually!)
i like my icon guy
Hey, cauz- Did you get your name from that neat STNG episode?
abe - last time i did that it was called 'sexual harassment', not go6.
thanks vicuna. i am struggling with the English language today, lol
"ohhhhh captain my captain," she moaned, "i'll ride your starship any day"
Hey, mab, have you gotten that goauche yet?
very true, Dachef!
No, but Shakespeare didn't know the term "sexual harassment."
speaking of go6 --- no not yet but i shall
:)
I am coming down with a cold and am going back to bed..have fun, Babblers.....
take care, jai
Ah yes, that famous bit from Midsummer Nights Dream: "verily I say unto thee, I have goosed Bottom's bottom, and I'm up in front of ye magistrates on Friday".
Take plenty of vitamin C, jai!
feel better, Jai
Will do, Vicuna..have already had 500%...LOL!
Heya mab!
can anyone clue the last two lo words?
(There was a study that found it didn't help, but I still think it does!)
<snneze> Bye!
*nudges mab and vi*
Last two lo- Mr. Armstong, the trumpet player+ pl.
My last 2 are nicknames for France's Versailles kings. Not sure if they're the last.
thanks abe...thought i had that one. do you have the first ge 5/14?
you quote the bard beautifully daachef - and one off my favorite passages
lo5/6 - Mr./s Armstrong
..the musician ..
hit torgone. i'm so sleepy.... must nap.. zzzzzzz
ge + man's name
A choir of angels sing thee to thy rest ..
I have those torgone and vi--there are a bunch morebetween those and the last two. My monkey isn't helping.
natasha, you probably mean the ones with the double o, but that is not what tor and vi are telling you to get.
thanks
Those are the last 2 .. there's an alternate spelling higher up ..
Awww, torgone. What a sweetie you are to provide all those angels for mab's nap!
Vicuna - I just looked at your web site. Nice art!
yw cauz
I do hurshy...thanks for clarifying.
See .. I can do that poetry junk too . . .
got them now, thanks! Can't believe I missed that letter in the lower corner
Thanks, Spanky! I don't believe we've met before. I see that you're a graphic artist. Is that your dragon?
aw yay! another artist :)
Torgone's so eloquent, Mab thinks that he's heaven-sent.
sp 5/12 and 6/21 please, second 5/12 and first 6/21
how does enable not know about loogies?
i meant hi torgone, not hit torgone. oh angels singing.....zzzzzz
.. or splooge?
I wondered the same thing, hurshy. Especially as we did have "hoick" a while back!
Hurshy - cos Enable never walked under a balcony containing six teenagers.
second sp 5/12 rhymes with what you call bread when it gets hard
I have one se4/7 the other one cannot find any help
Vicuna: No that dragon is completely stolen ;) I do business to consumer graphics - my audience consists of about 400,000 residents in Texas. I rarely do any art on the side, just cause I am burned out on it.
change third letter, speedfreak
Yeah, mab, that was an unfortunate slip. When you try to greet someone and slug him instead! oops!
That's okay .. I get slugged a lot ..
Spanky, that's too bad you don't get any fun out of doing it for yourself. Atalante and I are on a crusade to get as many Babblers as possible to be artists!
Poor tofgone. Do you need someone to bind up your battered brow?
awww, my poor tor, can i kiss the spot that hurts?
thanks abe not looking right way
go artists! go artists!
yw speed
thanks for the sp clues abe 7p, that a weird word
Yes and yes . . .
Vicuna: well, am defintely a creative soul. I just work in a stressful enviroment - but I am working to try and change all that! I do scrapbookng and I am starting to knit....so there are lots of ways to be creative outside the office.
yw magzel
TY also I am speedfreak's sister and was brain dead on the last word. firewks for me. ty ty ty A new babbler for last 13 days.
That's good, Spanky! There are a number of other knitting Babblers, too.
RKB - congrats! 13 days? Careful, you'll get hooked like your sis.
I'm a knitting babbler!
yay for Read-Knit!
Dachef how are you long time....don't think my sisters husband is too happy I showed her this site!!
This IS so cool...my husband knowd how addicted I can get to anything fun!!! My sister is awesome. She sets such a good example!
need the last so 5/14 and the second so 5/10 please
speed - the trick is not to tell people. Anyway, when you do, they usually think you're mad. "Yes, its a word game." "A word game? And you spend hours on it?" "Yes, its really fun" "Are you mad????" "Probably...."
ata, mab, wishing to issue an invitation to you
Or: "why are you tired?" "Cos I was up till 3am looking for lo6/24." "What????" "Oh, nevermind...."
second so 5/10- change last letter of first so 5/10; so 5/14 rhymes with fl 6/33
time for a break. see you all later.
bye Spanky
cya spanky ..
abe: I just read your bio. Be so happy that you can play babble at the office (and multi-task). My company has such items blocked :(
or when I awake a 3 am and say to myself, Oh I had proa, why didnt I think of prao, that is nuts but what can I say I am a babble addict and I love it
just found the site - is it ok to ask what the codes represent? eg so 5/10 ... ta
Annie - and you think to yourself: 'I could have had another 3 hours sleep if I hadnt stayed up till 3am looking for prao', but you know the next night you'll do exactly the same again.
Spanky- my company blocks nothing, and they are dummyheads, so I babble to my heart's content :)
mab, where are you?
se 8/50?
and the next and the next
I HATE proa and prao!!!
LOL we certainly have developed our own way to speak
i NEVER remember prao
jonny - example lo6/24 - the word begins with lo, has 6 letters and is worth 24 points. You'll get the hang of it. But be careful, this thing is addictive........
anybody need any other clues before I leave work?
first sp 6/21?
se 8/50
Majmom - continue the se5.12 with a robot ending. Hello all
sp 6/21- plural of sp 5/12- rhymes with what you call bread that is hard
hi lynxx

se5.12 is part of a flower
ooops, sorry about that....se + pen ***
slinking away.....
I am shocked, SHOCKED to hear that there are odd words going on here!
don't slink away Natasha I like the way you clue!!
thanks
Hi everyone. Are you all happy babblers today, as far as the grid goes?
le5/10 please
hello Biltong - its a fun one
hi biltong
le5/10 - sounds like pl of what a ladder does against a wall
thanks vicuna
lo 6/18?
cauz - to undo a bolt.
and that doesnt mean run back into the stable.
probably related to the lo 5/10 before it (not dealing with opposite of tight)
ah.........sorry. Not got that one, obviously. <goes to face corner>
i don't see how it can be related to that 5/10
but i will look for it, whatever it is.
lo6/18 - pl of the other spelling of Mr Armstrong.
oh, ooh, you don't mean what i thought you meant, do you
you just need a plural?
ne4/5 please
hello sha
hi babblers
ne4/5 - rhymes with se4/5
lo6/18, lo6/18, oh baby, you gotta go, da da, da da.....
thanks again Vicuna
Hi chj

bye sha
jonny we always welcome new suckers -- er friends to our addictions!!!
LOL
aw, new babblers are so CUTE, aren't they? before they get all strung out from the addiction and jaded and cynical and enable begins to drive them down the path to madness
LOL speedfreak. And so true about addicting.
LOL hurshy
i was supposed to go home 30 minutes ago, but i cant leave the computer.... i sense the addiction is starting to take hold....
Shh, hurshy! Don't mention the madness!
fireworks
Uh oh! Another one bites the dust.
wtg mum(ruthy)
*calling Babblers hotline for Jonny*
wahoo ruthy
Jonny - give it about a fortnight and you'll be waking up in the middle orf the night in a sweat shouting "prao, prao, that was it! Why doidnt I think of that earlier?" and then logging back on to enter it. Oh yeah, and printing the grid out in the morning so you can take it to work. Thats when you know you got it bad!
jonny you must finish this puzzle - you must finish this puzzle - you must finish......
byebye sha
some of the things that r coming up im not writing is that supposed to happen
the ol 7?
OMG Dachef! I do print the grid to take it to work if I know I can't get access to a computer. *drops head on keyboard*
Or when you go to bed at 3 a.m. and wake your husband and say "remember that 8 letter word we were looking for, well.....
i dont hav a husband im a kid
LOL
I need the last two sp words--a 6 and 7. clue please?
there goes your social life, Jonny
ciocia - intentional quoting of clueless, or not?
sp 6 is an organ in your body and add constanent on end for sp7
can i hav a clue 4 the u word
An internal organ that may be ruptured or vented ..
thanks!
Natasha, an organ in the human body sp6/21
i deserve a fish for missing that
uf9 = studies of flying saucers
fireworks!
oops, said a word *goes to sit in corner*
YAY, Natasha!!
Hooray Natasha!
wahoo natasha *goes back to corner*
well done natasha
skala???
Ciocia, stay in that corner and think about what you have done!
the ol 7?
bichon - ol7 - ending is like a degree. For example, I have a degree in wine*****.
Swop for the di6/24?
ol7 - the end is the same as the uf9 (and there are quite a few words that have the same end)
dachef di is a kind of gas especially for trucks
Tom Cruise is a proponent of scient***** - plural it ..
ty speed - my turn for the corner, facing the wall.
thanx dachef et al.
Then tack an o on the front ..
how do u no how many letters the words are if u dont hav them
hi jonyn - I use Lickety Babble clues when I run dry - see link at bottom
jonny - after a while the gme becomes lodged in your frontal lobe, and it slowly takes over your brain. Then, when you play it, it automatically gives you clues as to what the words you're missing are.
they use lists
dachef bad
"They"?
well, i am not using one at the moment, so, i didn't put "we"
not that there's anything wrong with that
hmm, it worked for seinfeld... tough crowd...
I've got a rotton tomato and I'm not afraid to use it!
im havin trouble finding the 8's
<goes to get a knife to cut the atmosphere>
rotton... is that rolled cotton?
holy heck, tis dachef! how ya doing buddy?
evan!!! Still writing the book?
clues for ne4/5 & ne5/12 please
jonny - the oo8 ends the same way as the uf9
So this transcendentalist walks into a hamburger shop . . .
and he says, make me one with everything
jonny - the se8 is the se5.12 with a robot end (think of and***)
Oh fine, make fun of my spelling, hurshy. But the tomato will be just as splatty when it's thrown!
rats, if it was rolled cotton, it would have been fine to get hit with.
ren8 - ne's use double vowel
thanxxx lynxxx
wow -- hi dachef! haven't seen you in ages! hi all!
lol dachef. ayup...that special diet book!
cheers lyn, i don't know how i missed that
good morning stid
hi lynxxx! It's sunny here (took forever for the clouds to burn off) how's life down under today?
Hi stid
hi biltong!
stid - how u? I was lost for a while, but found myself down the back of the sofa, where I was nestling between some old coins and half a smoky bacon crisp.
I liked the transcendentalist joke, tor!
pee-yoo! bacon crisp! yuck. ;-) glad you're back.
I just heard it over on sudoku . .
as did i. obviously.
{{{hurshy}}} do you want another adolescent to shepherd around? mine is driving me nuts these days!
We were hanging out together over there .. We're an item now . .
see....i think we should be allowed 'aloo'
evening all..
lol stidmama... but... could you really live with him 3000 miles away?
YES!!! oh --- yes!!!! in a heartbeat...
rolin - couldnt agree more. Goes down well with a balti.
Hi rolin
aloo bonde? the potato dish?
but we're having a fight, because tor respects shatner.
hi rolin
sag aloo...spinach and potato...
He's a great artist . .
well stid, i'm not in control of admissions, but you're free to have him apply, lol
fl6/33? Please......
he doesn't have RESPECT for his own POSITION
:-) I may just, even if I have to get a job to afford it!
he may not respect himself, but he should respect the office.
Dachef: f + alternate spelling for louis?
oooh c'mon...whats wrong with 'floosey'?
shatner, a great artist? oooooo
fl6.33 is built like go5.18
I think it's usually spelled ie rolin...
but drop the S and you get the word dachef wants...
mab, there you are... you're needed...
shatner was a great artist - anyone else ever hear his cover of pulps common people? Genius.
got he fl6/33, ta all, but the one after, the fl6.27?
I think Gene Roddenberry was the great artist. End of argument.
same word, diff spelling dachef
Spelt differently, chef
change the last letter to a vowel dachef
hi all back to finish up
shatner singing --- oooooo
hi Wolvie!
ta guys. Am thinking about having a protest outside Enables office. Anyone interested? Our demands? Simple: stoppit.
or rather, talk-singing
what's this Shatner WAS a great artist - did he pass away or something? I LUV Shatner. :-)
*stomps foot* I _want_ 'yesmen'!
can someone tell me the points total please?
it's not even that i don't love him... i love him and he disgusts me at the same time.
fl 6/33 pls? *holds out plate for anticipated fish*
a round 2,100 Atal
2100 ata
stid, so does george bush; and he's got them
clue for the uf pls
ty!
clued at 3:33 daisy
I think he's a hoot - he enjoys himself and you can tell - nothing wrong with that!!
there si a bunch of clues just under tndaisy
ty Stid...just got back in
SLAM! wow mab, want to be a little more open with your opinions? ROFL
uf9 - studies of UFO
I was still talking about Shatner - not shrub. Shrub I can't stand. :-)
bush, there's another man who has no respect for his position... and yet somehow too much at the same time. but unlike shatner, he has no sense of humor about himself.
clue 4 second 9 letter (not uf9) please
ne9 finishes the same way as the uf9 jonny
man here we go with the politics
shatner is like a car crash, hes awful, but you just can't help but watch
ta
well shorty, i had to change it to something less sensitive than star trek
no no mab - he's a hoot!
ooooooooooooookkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
religion anyone?
who would win in a fight between Bush and Shatner?
LOL - Shatner, hands down
shatner.
what kind of fight? are weapons allowed? fictional weapons? humor?
ooo i just heard that mike tyson is thinking of fighting women boxers
hurshy - just mano a mano would work. ;-)
shatner
will he nibble on their ears?
you've got to admit, Bush is funnier... even if unintentionally...
why mab - have they grown too tight for him? ;-0
Holy crap . .what did I start??
eeewwwww! hurshy!
just passing through...
sherb, that's WHY he's funny...he's being serious
shatner would pull out his phaser gun, Bush would pull out his little red button, shatner would pull out his photon torpedoes, and then Bush would refuse to pull out of anything! Har har!
i had to... it was begging to be said...
lol dachef
bush funnier, yes, but too powerful.
i dunno, bush has the army, but shatner has the trek fans (who are probably smarter)
oh, i shouldn't insult the army
i like the army
the shrub has the bomb
i mean i don't LIKE the fact that there are armies and wars
shatner has some of those too, mab. ;-0
patch r u wording
EG 7 please?
ha!
time to change the subject again...
see are we talking shatner or kirk?
without eg*, stid
is there a difference?
cause you know, kirk took on the greek god apollo and won - so he's used to dealing with big eg4's
Kirk has friends ..
*facepalm* thanks wolvie!
Shaner has less magical technology at his disposal.
yes, what vi said.
I mean Shatner, of course.
the force of his personality is enough, vic. I love the guy. :-)
so does David Blaine.
shatner, that is
EL 6/21? (I have the third EL word...)
I have qu5/16. Clue for the other q please?
Yeah . .MAGIC . . Now there's a provocative topic!
is this puzzle updated in american time?
but shatner can probably move around and hide easily, cause he probably gets free hotel rooms from ... suddenly i'm blanking...
time passes by Stid - el****

nut is that shatner in utero?
plural c and c + the name of the computer on the Heart Of Gold starship in the restaurant at the End of the Universe by Douglas Adams.

Spell out what the letter sounds like, for one ..
yep mab, i'm preggers with him right now
evan - that ones gonna chafe when it comes out. Have you seen the size on his phaser?#
shatner has mad cow disease?
chafe!
dachef, of course i've seen the size of his phaser, how do you think i got preggers?
immaculate conception...?
well eva guess we also know his phaser wasn't shooting blanks
course he's liable to hit on you as soon as he's out of the womb
ha ha ha, nope i think he musta had it set to stun to get me into the sack the old dirtball.
LOL evan

The last lo 5,12?
thanks everybody! i'll be around for a little bit for clues.

nan, change last letter of the british toilet (past tense)
isn't that a 5/10, Fran?
nope, lo5/14 nan
it sounds like the lo5/10 also
ends with the sometimes vowel.

Is anyone here Jewish?
ill be at trivia but thankfully they have plenty of tv's
who put the silly snakie poo in my waders?
some are Jewish, taz, why?
Kitties all good. Paddywhack is 20 years old (I think that's over 100 in cat years) and slowly winding down. She's had a good life, but I will miss her when she goes.
*looks guilty about snaky*
debs aand me taz
We play at a local watering hole, on NTN. It's a lot of fun competing with others across the nation
i am
snake poop eh?
I go to go to the Holocaust museum in dc this weekend what an experience
oh, I hope it was FAKE poo!
i hear it's unbelievable
i think he was just looking for a dry lace to hang out ren
hahaha std - did you put that sneaky snakey poo in my waders?
whoa -- 20? that's ancient! I hear what you mean -- our older dog (now about 14) is sleeping longer and longer, and can't see too well any more.
nope, i just put in snake poop, chj did the rest
sneaky snakey fakey poo?
it is an experience taz - let the world never forget
well, I didn't "know" they were yours, was hoping they were chj's, and I didn't want to hold the snaky because it was drooling out the wrong orifice...
It is they have actual things on loan from Aushwitz and so much Yes ren i am still thinkning about it
Stid, I'll update you on Yahoo a little later tonight, too long for chat
ewwwwwwww stid! you and nut must be related!
*glad I'm not seeing this snakey conversation*
oh sure blame the poor orphan boy for everything bad that happens
It is free but ot og to the manu exhbibit you need a ticket
okay, JB -- *waits patiently to get caught up*
stid is my adoptive mom, didn't you know ren?
i'd love to be able to see it
You're right, ren, it is EEEWWWWWW - I have actually had a snake poo on me. Don't ask, just trust me, NOT NICE!
Taz, the shoe exhibit is what seems to do people in the most. Hardly anyone can look at that without their feelings showing on their face.
thx chj
thx chj
nonono! not related to nut! related to pirate ren, the queen of all pirates!
everyone should visit taz
orphan boys that give clues like - "applied a plaster used in frescos" - as if !
LOL -- I was the world's youngest mother ever when nut was born!
*sigh* - rejected by my adoptive mother...
well, nut and ren are sisters so you must be related to both, stid
oh jb! i've never even and never will hold a snakey - oh oh o oho ooho ohohoh shivers
It is not for children infact, some of the most graphic viseos you must look down a into a pit and over a ledge
Leaving (for now) with laughter in my heart, and spaghetti dinner to make. TTFN!!!
rennie...a warning...watch out for snakey poos in any packages that you may receive in the near future
That exhibit -- my grandmother's best friend was in one of the camps. survived...
later JB! {{{hugs}}} so glad you're back.
later jb! spaghetti....hmmmmmmmmmmm
The attendents were all survivors you can stalk to
ttfn, JB
Yeah, Taz, kids maybe shouldn't see all of it. Oh, Stid, sad! Where I went to school, we had a whole neighborhood of people with the numbers still tattooed on their arms. :(
no way chj! no way! no no no no no
really taz - that must be interesting
a clue for the last lo 5/12 and lo 6/21 ,please..
i hear the houston post office is crawling with snakey poos...and they are getting into the mail
wow ankh yes unbeleivable
But it was years before they were able to reconnect. I never met her, but I know their experiences changed them both.
Chic, the last one is a past tense of lo5/10
see, at least i only send boogers
lo*** lo*** by the kingsmen
does anyone have all the so clues yet-if so could you give me the so 5/10 clues all 3-i need 1 but cant seem to find which 1
oh man, Ankh -- how hard, and yet how good that they made it. I would like to see the exhibit someday, but I don't know if I could handle it. Does that make any sense?
Maj, don't have it yet, sorry.
Hello again Babbler - Mommy update - no surgery, it was cancelled and they are trying new pain meds and she is actually getting some refief now but she is still in hospital and will be moved to rehab in about a week for 6 weeks
so 5/10 are plural bottoms of shoes; then take the last letter off that one and replace it with a vowel;; then plural single singer
Well, Stid, the attendents are accustomed to seeing people break down. You should go. More important, kids should go, because the generations who knew it best are leaving us.
use fed ex or ups chj
so5 bottoms of shoes
got it ty
so5 o so** mio + eye

Can't stay too long tonight as I have to be up early for delivery of 2 parcels. One that should have arrived yesterday and the other that is scheduled to arrive 'between 8am - 6pm'. Can anyone tell me WHY, in these days of mobile 'phones, that companies find it impossible to tie the delivery slot down to a 3-hour period or at least 'am' or 'pm'??
Did I nut? *reads back*
Yeah, I guess I shouldn't say anything, should I? Bad grid for me! :)
ha ha ha qrj
jac I run a bin delivery business and we give out drivers mobile to customers, works well
Incidentally, my icon isn't black! If you click on my profile for the bigger picture you will see my pink 'fairies' (fuchsia flowers) ready for Think Pink later. They look so pretty in the garden at the moment, I got Paul to photograph them after dark.
Andree - My Paul is a lorry driver. His firm can deliver by specific times, too. Not most UK companies though, it would seem.:?
last lo5/12 please
mmmmm, my minty hot choco...new addiction
Andree - Sounds like the French 'Sun King'.
Nut - still don't know what word I said. Never mind!
ha ha jac, it was more of the word within the name.
It's me, Jacula. You said my name. And my name is in the puzzle.
Oh right! Yes. LOL.
I bet you'll never see MY Babble name in a grid!
have that jac, the last5/12 and 6/21 combo is what i need
jac, not that it'll accept anyway
Andree - you don't have it. That is the last 5 & 6 combo I've clued you for. lo* (Mr. Reed) + a way of saying 'for example'. Plural it for the 6.
Nut - Not unless I become a verb it won't. LOL.
can somebody give me a clue for el 7/36 ?
Thios - el7/36 are songs or poems that lament the dead.
thanx jac.
went to put on the Mets game which was announced earlier and it's nowhere to be found! Horrible Hockey instead, ugh.
help, mr reed?
y/w, Thios. Thomas Gray wrote a famous one in a graveyard.
scuse me...horrible hockey??? jilli...how could you?
Andree - How about Mr. Ferrigno who played the original Incredible Hulk then? Same first name.
I used to like hockey before the goons and Don Cherry ruined the game
oh ok! lol
isn't that the 5/10 / 6/18 combo
Andree - sounds like English 'toilet' (dunny) word but with different vowel at the end.
No Andree - 5/12 & 6/21 for this one.
Think of Lo*** Pasteur?
thx jac, I'll keep trying, clue for last 2 lo6/18 's please
oh, thank goodness - the mets game just showed up -- late.
Andree - lo6/18 - make slacker. lo6/18 - makes slacker.
Did you see Jon Stewart threw out the ball for the Mets game yesterday or day before?
Down to 1 last word and pulling my hair out! Any clues for the last lo6/18?

I'm really feeling dense. Can't get the el7/36. I have the idea but can't make it work. Help anyone please?

Congrats Andree and Deb *~*~*~*~*
I Jacula I LOVE your icon it is beautiful
I can't see anything but very dark background jac
faerie - Hi! Well thank you! I was thinking of you when I first saw the flowers by moonlight and asked Paul to photograph them. I've changed to my backup icon now, though.

Oh cool Jac that would be wonderful :)

'Bye Andree. I must be off soon, too, to await the delivery men who arrive between 8am-6pm. (No doubt it will be 6pm if I get up early!) *sigh!*
What are you getting Jac?
I've got to get the bus to go and collect my first pair of vari-focal specs later. I expect I'll be seeing 2 or 3 of you all for a while after that! I've heard they are difficult to get used to.:(
BACK
Hiya Nut!!!!
faerie - the parcels? Something computery my son has on order and a new computer for P's parents.
jac, I've that kind of lens for years and didn't have any trouble at all getting used to them - love them.
hiya faerie -- - again
Ohhhhh I love getting packages in the mail :)
jilli - when I went from 'frames' to 'no frames' I was going dizzy and seeing bumps in the floor tha weren't there....:(
se 8 please...I am clueless
Jee - se5/12 (flower part, not a petal) + an ending that means 'like'. Same ending as painful bum complaint... haemor****.
thanks jacula...I will work on it
(Also known as 'piles', Jee. Your mother may have told you you would get them from sitting on a cold step or wall!)
thanks Jacula, I needed that!
got the pile part...stuck on the flower part...lol
Actually, I think you in US, spell the bum thing 'hem etc'
yeah we do, but it translates easily....
LOL Jee. se + friend or good mate.
April - you needed piles?? Only kidding.x
thanks jacula...I was on the wrong se
hardy har....no, just pals
oops
Well done, Jee.
Well, you couldn't be clear than that, April.;)
Okay. 5 more mins., if you want clues and then I must be off.

that se one was a gimme, but I dont always see the plant ones...strangely enough I have been trained on here to not see botanical latin or anythiing else plant related
okay, I will hurry, how about so6/21 please?
That, April, is odd, very!
I don't even know that se5 word for some reason
Okay, I am stuck on Jilli's witch clue. e + lower limb(s?) + witch's ***l ??? what am I doing wrong?
Jac, it is when you are a horiculturist!
so6/21 - sang alone. (Past tense.)
got it thanks
I know, April! LOL.
Ankh - Look up Thomas Gray's poem el***. Then plural the word you find.
I had that word ages ago! How is that related to a witch's spell?
(el + vowel + Scottish word for 'gives' which is in the grid as a g4/6.)
Ankh - I've no idea!
Arrrrggghgghghhgh. That's in here, and loogie is not. Bit o' bias in the word list!
Is there an sp5 and sp6 combo?
Instead of a spell, those last four letters mean a curse, if I recall correctly.
Calm down, Ankh! Don't get in a fl4/8.
*laughs at Jac, who, batlike, must fl4/8 quite a bit herself!* :)
How many words today?
154
thanks!
Cranky, Are you there?
Jee, yes, sp 5, s+ light colored, then plural for 6.
are you talking to me purple?
thanks bunny

Can anyone give me a nudge on the two C words?
any help with the ne 9?
can i have some easy help on the ne 9 please
ce 4/6, ce + opp of alive, ce 4/5 - double the vowel and plural
ne 9 - has an ending like a science class you took in school, b****y, but pluraled. (Also like the oo8/50).
study of new things = ne9, similar to ol7
ne9= the "study of" the main character from the Matrix (plural)
thanx jee and bunny
good evening
chers
yw
bunny, I don't get your ce clue I have the 4/6, not the 4/5
double the vowel in the ce4

fl 6/33 please
April...ends like biology with plural
ahh thanks jee!
Good evening Babblers. I am here to relax a bit after a stressful day and the beginnings of a migraine. Let's have some fun!
fl6/33 is a lot like fl6/27 but with two same different letter endings that sound the same
fl 6 - type of material made from sheeps wool
hi Scrabbler
Hi April
cancel that first "same" in my previous clue
I think from wool, I only know what cotton is made from really. For all I know rayon and polyester are wool too...
Hi scrabbler
H JeeWhiz
Hello scrabbler, grab a martini and some advil :) They are on the babbling buffet.
haha... i don't have the 6/27 either...was hoping i could figure out one from the other
after fl, it is all vowels.....:)

I just took the ibuprofen. I should go to bed but Babble is my refuge for now.
Bunny, thank you, got them now. Oh, the fl**** IS the sheep's wool, while still in pelt-like form. Hi, Scrabbler. :)
lo5--it's really a word!
Hi Ankhorite--your hamster always makes me happy. Our remaining hamster is an albino.
Ah, my last hamster, Homey Mahoney, was a black-eyed white with the tiniest blonde mohawk (when he was very young; faded to white with age)
ufologies
Bless you, Scrabbler!
I am SO sorry for that direct clue.
thanks scrabbler!
Let's pretend you were sneezing. :)
don't feel bad scrabbler, it didn't feel like a real clue
well, I figured someone would thank me for that, but I felt obligated to apologize.
Our hamstre is named Oliver. We have had dozens over the last 12 yrs or so--all buried in the pet cemetery.

ey 7?
hahahaha nope - i had to do some fancy driving to get to high ground!
ren, what were you doing?
you should have taken the day off, don't make your baby sister come down there and hostage you in your home.
trying to get home jee - parts of houston are still under water
ey7 - nothing to see with
can't see april
I guess since you live in Houston, I know what you were doing....flooding down there?
April - having no ey4/6
i will listen next time nut

Hi Judy Hi remluc
YAY Dorens!
Hi lbd!
hi all! doesn't look like anyone needs clues today...
Remluc is that a minpin in your icon?
Hey Stid
Down to pidly words, ne 5/12?
yes it's my min pin Chewbacca. Isn't he handsome in his winter sweater? :)
very stylish, remluc
bunny!!
I love minpins! love his name, i'm sure quite fitting if i know mps!
Well, you know he likes to look good, yet stay warm. Very functional.
bunny--plural of the word above
bunny, plural of the ne4/5
Hello. Everyone has migrated to the evening shift. We moved to, so I was "unhooked" for over a month. Still re-cooping.
i missed you! cute icon, btw
Doh, how'd I miss that one? Past my bedtime!!
ibdawger - he's the best dog in the world. He's 10 years young - still acts like a young pup.
hi again bunny! :-)
yup, mine loved his sweaters and his sweatshirts. yes, i spoiled him
thinking "min pin" is miniature pinscher?
yes it is stid
Read your icon, getting hitched huh? Good luck and congrats with that.
Rem, i don't think they ever age in their hearts. characters 24/7
Stid, my trees aren't dead...yet :) Have I told you thanks for you help?
Your dogs are so cute, remluc.
ibdawger, I totally agree.
the last go 6/27..pls
thanks bunny!
Thanks Scrabbler. The "moose" in the background is an American Bulldog, J.R.
How tall is he Rem?
so glad to hear they're surviving, bunny! I think my mother lost her new ornamental maple, but we'll wait until Spring to be sure.
lbd -- twice as tall as Chewbacca!
hi stid
how come you think she lost it stid?
Rockingram...it's the Go***** truth!
lol Stid, I meant how tall is chewbacca
It seems like the maple is doing the worst outt athe bunch now that you mention it. All the others look great, but it's browning a little too quickly.
LeslieAnn -- have you posted a pic of your intended yet? raoul was cute and all but let's face it. He wasn't real!
J.R.'s about like a labrador retriever. Yes - basically twice as tall as Chewie, and weighs 10 times as much!
thanks lbd
haha, let me go look...
oh...no..I am not getting the clue
I think she didn't plant it or heel it in when she got it and the black plastic pot got hot in the sun and she didn't compensate by watering more...
good e'en, Stid.
uhm, sure Rennie.
but what about the maple makes you think she lost it stid?
oh chewie I'm not sure - but he's a runt compared to others I've seen
hello, dear professor! So -- when the student refuses to bring his book home to study, is it reasonable to ground him?
for the cluie lbd
go + if you can't sp**l a word, you might not be able to play this game
I think I'm thorugh planting til spring (minus a few bulbs). Want to see how everything comes out before I add more.
*chuckle* Does the local library have a copy of the text?
Rockingram...biblical stories
sounds reasonable to me, bunny. I want to lift a few daffy bulbs this week if the soil dries out enough, then I am done until next year, too!
ibd - I take it you have a minpin?
no, but am considering having him purchase his own copy to be sure we have one on hand!
thanx..so much
bunny, sometimes ornamental (japanese ish) maples brown instead of turning colors, especially if it was a red leaf maple
Rem, I've had mins most of my life. I'm currently furbaby less.
stid, it says my files are too big... i'll try later
he "forgot" an assignment two weeks ago, then "forgot" to do the second half of it this weekend, then "forgot" to bring home his book the last two days! ARGH!
many districts use older books. you may be able to find used copies for not much.
okay, LA -- will be waiting! ;-)
ibd - must be kinda quiet without one around. They are really great dogs.
good point! His book is definitely on the older side, LOL I think it's older than he is!
I've got 80 words--enough for me. Time for bed--I must make this migraine go away!
Stid, having an extra book at home would make that excuse very weak
remluc -- what is this "quiet" you talk about?
good night scrabbler!
good night Scrabbler
however stid, (this is a middle school guidance counselor speaking), it might be interesting to find out why he keeps "forgetting"
Good night, LeslieAnn--when is the wedding?
oh SCrabbler.... {{gentle hugs}} take care of the head and get better. see you tomorrow!
Well, we haven't proved any new versions of the quadratic formula for a while. Say 3 centuries or so.
My last one was litter mates with rotties. he didn't know he was a little dude
11 days, scrabbler!
Night scabbler
night scrabbler...peace to your migraine
he keeps forgetting because he resents our intrusion into his personal business -- nevermind that uncle riemann agrees with us that basic algebra is essential for future success as a scientist.
Woweeeee, Leslie Ann--wearing Halloween costumes for the wedding and reception?
Heh, Riemann. Dear One is a math geek, keeps trying to teach me things; I resist!
((((throb..throb...throb....))))
no, scrabbler - no matter what the groomsmen tell you
ibd - I bet that was interesting!
stid, maybe he needs to talk to some professional scientists. even a pharmacist to get that information acroos.
And *one* phone call to the school can find out the exact title, author and edition of the texts chained to his locker.
basic algebra is definitely important....does he not see that?
That is my head---BYE!
I have to get the kiddos into bed, and the hubby. Good to see ya Leslie, I'll start popping in for a few in the evenings when I can. Ya'll have a great night.
sc 5/12..pls
are you leaving scrabbler?
Paloose *is* a word, I sweah!
Feel better, Scrabbler.
some textobooks are even online, stid --but probably not the older ones
niters bunny
Yep---Mr REM awaits me in bed. LOL.
*giggle* he and his brother were practically born in the lab, lbd! We have a dear friend who is a major big-time biophysicist.
Rem, our other dog was an overgrown dobie, and between the two, the MinPin would be the bully
sc is from a play or movie, gramma
oh here we are
I went to school in the Palouse.
bye bunny!
later bunny!
bye bunny
ibd - that's funny. Chewie "guards" our sidewalk - how dare anyone walk on it. One day he got off his lease and bit a boxer (who was being walked on a leash) on the leg.
Palouse -- native word for desolate grassland punctuated by rocky outcrops and river gorges.
leslie - you 2 are beautiful!!!!!!
Yeah! And Paloose was an alternate spelling... also for Apaloosa horsies.
I need the 5th-8th lo words. Anyone help?
aww thanks
stid, have biophysicist show them how he uses algebra to do his work
it was our engagement pic for the paper
ooh! you are both beautiful! wow. very very cool, LeslieAnn (he looks nice...)
great picture leslie
so, does he babble?
sweet! leslie!
LA, newlywed here, it is fun!
just over a month
oh wow! how did the wedding go?
Good idea, lbd! (she) would probably be happy to help. He wants to do his science fair project with her this year.
LA! hunka hunka! and you're pretty cute too! ;)
mazel tov april!
pls help with last 2 lo's
it was swift and fun
thanks ren
LeslieAnn, you two look happy. Which burb, which paper, can you say/
er, can you say?
April -- congrats! and living near hood canal, too. lovely sunrises there... :-) perfect for newlywed breakfasts.
Bichon, wood products for the 5th and 8th rhymes with horse foot
Phan, famous trumpeter Lo*** Armstrong then plural
Lots of 'em! actually mostly downstate. we live in lisle, but didn't put it in any around here
yah stid, we bought 4 acres with a house out here this summer
bye all - have a good night! Thanks for the chat!
Rem, lol yup chewie is a typical MP, lord of all he surveys and then some!
Lucky, April, congrats on that and the marriage. Goodnight, Remluc.
go 4/9?
double congrats then, April!
gnight remulc
night Rem glad to meet a fellow MP lover
lbd, I am not sure that is the last lo, there are 2 after ":if you misplace something it is your lo*4/4
Ibd - no doubt. Have a good night - talk to you later!
thanks Ankh
Lisle is nice, not too close-in.
can anyone give me a great hint for se8?
remember, when the ground is soggy and it hasn't rained when the grass squishes noisily without any walking...
where you at, ankh?
pump the septic tank!
april, game played on grass, hit the ball and chase it.
se 8 is the se 5/12 with a robotic ending...
coffee - so you have the se 5/12?
no kidding stid! I just went to a county commisioner meeting this morning about the septic issues around the canal.
Phan, yup those are the two last lo's the trumpet player and pl
Used to be Riverdale, Elk Grove, Norridge, Evanston (Rogers Park), umm... Oak Lawn, Franklin Park.
thanks lbd! I have been looking for that for awhile
yep. the older systems are the worst, but not the only offenders. Speaking of... probably time to get ours done again!
wow you get around ;)
good night remluc...
OK got it; I was think alt spelling, but you didn't say alt spelling did you? Thnx
coffeemonster -- did that make sense? I'm a little tired this time of day
coffee, if you have the se5/12 add robot ending.
I am in a local politics class and am required to go to meetings, write mock editorials, and send real letters to the editor and to the commisioner
yeah thanks a lot
Yeah, LA, family moved a lot. I am a stick-in-mud, usually stay in one place ten years if I can! We moved too much -- Springfield, Lincoln also on that list.
called 'local politics and the art of persuasion'. It is also an advanced fiction class
Good class, April.
sounds interesting, April -- a bit intimidating (I am really "people-averse" in social situations), but interesting!
so far, it is a fun class
Oh, LeslieAnn, Chicago also, how could I leave THAT out!
LOL that made me laugh April...advance fiction class!
oh! i lived in springfield for a year, my fiance's family lives there
haven't had a good horseshoe in a while...
spfld exploded in past 20 years... all the rural areas emptying out into spfld.
When is the wedding Leslie?
ask LA, it takes good fiction skills to write persuasive non fiction
LOL! I never did like horseshoes! Too... wet!
what! who doesn't like horseshoes? you ever had d'arcy's?
hope debs is ok - cards just scored now 3/2
11 days, piper!
But broasted chicken... that's worth going home for.
actually i was thinking anything political was fiction good or otherwise
Oh, dear, Ren, she won't like that.
oh oh, poor debb!
and you have time for Babble?
i know - we need to gove her a group hug ((((debs))))
I gave up believing in politicians about the same time I gave up Santy Claws -- remember watergate?
local politics, the place to make a differnce
yep, got out of work early!
ge 7/40 and ge 7/36...pls
ge 7/40 is past tense the canvas sizing 5/14; then plural for the 36
eg7/36 please, anyone? I keep thinking ego- something but nothing seems to work...
Nah, a lot of politicians -- esp way down low, at the local level, like library board -- do try really hard to do the right thing. But it only takes one bad apple to pervert the whole process. And the press can't be everywhere, all the time.
eg 7 is without personal investment? the eg 4 - last letter + "without" suffix
True, if you had no ego, you'd be eg*****
that is right true, not more but ****
fireworks
true, Ankh.
YAY Coffeemonster! woo-hoo!

se + Kipling's poem
se 4/7: the second is myse**; the first changes the third letter to a vowel
Be healed, from the crown of your head to the ***** of your feet!

Nite all, see you tomorrow
hi greeny!
oh YAY shorty!
nite bubba!
geeny--ge5/14--a fancy version of a 50's dessert--or a Parisian version of what Santa's tummy does
hi stidmama!!!
ol 7 is like the oo 8!
night Bubba, April it has to do with the study of things like soc or psych
there's an oo8??
mmm NO you wont
Nicodemus brought myrrh and ***** after Jesus died...
thanks stid
ty stid
they look like "studies of" words, April and Leslie
it's easy, LA -- just add the extra letter on the the ol 7!
stid, I did not get the first se 4/7 clue you gave
John the Baptist said the the Pharisees "Who warned you to **** from the wrath to come?"
erm, ok, don't have the ol ;)
se 4/7 is me, myse** and I. the one before it changes the third letter from a cons to a vowel
LA...psych****y make it plural
nighty night all see ya tomorrow
LeslieAnn -- do you know about how to change a word to mean "study of"? biol***, martyrol*** -- just pluralize that last bit...
night shorty
night shorty!
okay...I got that ge...and I have the first ge4 that rhymes with popular tennis shoes...any others...?
stid, huh? I can't see that, or when I type it, it says it isn't a word
happy babbling
stid, NM! sometimes I am so unidirectional
huzzah thank you stid
if you have the ne or uf 9 ,just take off the first two letters --
LOL april!
greeny, plural the 5/14, and if you don't graduate from high school you can get an equivalent called ge*plural
When I was growing up, I was fully persuaded that the Beatles song "Baby You're A Rich Man" said "You keep all your money in a big brown bag, beside the loo, what a thing to do!"
There is an ad about a surgery for eliminating "embarassing varicose veins" in the magazine that's open next to me. I am thinking that it's not the veins that embarass me, but the shape of the legs themselves!
woot, now have the 9's as well :)
ROFL douglas!
ge 6's?
ge6's are plurals of the 5's above each
The **** says in his heart, "There is no god"
ge 5/14 is french for jelly; ge 5/16 is similar to the rock with crystals inside
Whenever the ark set out, Moses said, "Rise up, O Lord! May your enemies be scattered; may your **** **** before you."
the fo** might be the one convinced that there is a god
thanks stid and lbd
yw april
funny bonkler...I like it
my last words are 9 lo's!
the LOs were hard for me.
they are...tough
Hi folks...might I have a clue for eg 7.36? 74 left, there's probably no way I'll finish but...
relarion, zero self esteem
hi relarion
1st and 2nd lo 5/10?
No self-esteem? Why, what'd I say, lb? Just kidding. Hi stid.
:-) Rel. did the clue help? April, first one is the shape bread often comes in
lbd, isnt that the four?
first lo 5/10 another version of louis.
second lo 5/10 is "not tight"
oops, sorry about that april
Yes, lb! I tried that word before but couldn't make it work, trying it in the wrong direction, Thanks.
The Bible actually uses the word fool in different sense than "blundering dunderhead..."
oops. thoe VERY first lo 5/10 is "a loamy deposit formed by wind, usually yellowish and calcareous, common in the Mississippi Valley and in Europe and Asia"
oops Douglas!
the last lo 5/10 is plural the "not winning" word
i never realized the bible talked about the administration i work for! lol
My bad...first time in a while for me...
douglas, i reaslly don't care what the bible says. and i'd rather not hear it thanks...or play by play of sports for that matter. two nights in a row you've annoyed me enough to leave. see ya.
s'okay Douglas -- with all your typing, I am amazed it took you this long to slip!
bonkler -- did you realize everything Douglas typed was a CLUE?
i'd rather my clues weren't soaked in preaching
got those stid
okay April -- any more?
lo 4/6's?
thanks stid
I'm stumped on the first el...
Could someone please clue the lo5/12--the one after what you put in the fireplace?
the last el 7/36?? Not the one related to the el6...Please...
and 4/7
Actually, I haven't started to meddlin' or even preaching yet, I'm just embedding clues in the Bible...
Rel, when you catch a cold again you re*****, drop the r
lo 4/6: a tree trunk with a silent vowel at the end; then plural tree trunks
e + la5/12
Good for you, Douglas !!
But as long as the ****** is in the puzzle, it sounds like an engraved invitation...
Ah! Thanx lb
lo 4/7: bread unit; "scottish" version of bread unit (last four letters of al5 word)
greeny, a poem or song in couplets
okay, gotta go work on a costume for the kid. later all!
ahh thanks stid!
night Stid
Bye stid!

As in "The disciples had forgotten to bring bread, except for one **** they had with them in the boat."
first lo 6/18, and last lo 6/21?
A Scottish Babblet that soonds like wha' ye du to your doggie...
the alternate way to spell Louis or many british toilets
el 7.36?
rel, a poem or song in couplets usually about the deceased
hmmm thought I got the toilet and alternate lois ones
Thanks lb. A favorite word of mine actually.
got the doggie one, thanks Douglas
plural the lo5/10 april
ahh lbd, thanks

anyone need a clue or two? otherwise, time for homework
yes please April, se4/7 before the me word
i have oo 8 - the other 8?
florey, change the third letter to a vowel
florey, it's like the me word, change the third letter to a vowel
Caesar was told to stay in bed on the **** of March
leslie, se8/50 like the se5/12+robot word
Cute dog and cat, April
ah thanks April got it and have Fireworks
leslie, same ending as the oo

she was an amazing girl
thanks jilli
yayyy florey!
Aw, my condolences April. I've lost 2 of each over the last decade, each very old, but have 2 cute doggies now.
Meaningless protest over absence of "meeny" from the dictionary
LA, did you get that clue"?
Likewise for "eeny"
still monkeying
i agree Douglas.
rel, that was a tragic event, hit by a car in front of the house, died in our arms...
she was 5.5 yrs
oh that's so sad april
Oh geez April, I could burst into tears just reading that. So sorry.
yah, I cry if I think about it, that was 4 years ago
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
these things always hurt. I just got my first dog after that this summer (though my ex adopted dogs way before I was ready)
hiya min
They're heartbreakers even when they live 20 years.
welp kids, gotta go put the ol bod to bed. Hi MIn! night everyone see you tomorrow
April - so sad about your dog. Our first Dane almost came to that end which convinced us never to let a dog loose outside a fenced area, even if obedience trained.
Night lb, thanks for the clues.
thanks for the clues lbd
Sorry to hear about your dog. We lost a dog about 8 years ago. Haven't had one since.I'm not really a dog person. It was my husband's dog. He loved it so much!
Kipling write a poem -- "never give a dog your heart to tear..."
jil, she sat on that porch her whole life until that night, watching the walkers. This night another dog (vicious dog) chased her into the street. Now, I agree, I don't let them too far out of my sight.
Goodbye lbdawger! I will see you tomorrow in the log!
Min, my ex said the only reason we were together was for my dog!
she was a special girl, for sure
but he is my ex for good reasons!
I understand that April - daughter separated but still sees ex because of the dog
el 7/36?
man I wish I had a hot picture of Wharf (they are all hot) for my icon
Meaningless protest over absence of "fooey" from the dictionary...fooey!
i tried that one too douglas
As nice as it is to have one, that is not a good reason to be with anyone. That would be like if I wouldn't go out w/my husband when I first met him since he had dog. I did have an exboyfirend once who was a dog!
I've used that word forever Douglas
LA, poems about the departed
el 7/36--similar to kind words spoken at a memorial service
it sounds like what they do in church LA
I'd better not go on about dogs, having a been a breeder and exhibitor of champion Great Danes and having lost many very beloved ones and hearing about owners of our pups and their losses. You never get used to it and I iss them all so much. Our line was long-lived for the breed - reaching 11 and one even 14. Only have a cat now, age 17.
Min, according to him, it was why we were STILL together....we lasted only a year and a half after she died.
April, that's doubly sad.
Lets tell Dr. God to accept the word phooey if it's in the puzzle again. I agree, I also tried that word also.
Jil, 14 is so long for a Dane!
ah thanks for the el clues
So now I am a firm believer in adopting adult dogs....they need homes desperately. Pound dogs rule!
yes indeed -that's one of the main things our breeding programme was based on -- that and temperament and health and beauty.
her death was Jil, the divorce was a blessing
elogies did not work for me.Is it similar to that word?
I should think so, after that, april!
anyone have first ge5/14?
yes Min, very very
change your second vowel, min
min - change the 2nd vowel to the 2nd vowel!
Min, change the second vowel to the second vowel
Hello shmoozanne! How are you? Welcome to the grid
April, I would do that next, adults. ours are rescue pups but we got them at 2 months, from different places on the same day. It was a bit rough.
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
ty min
I don't get it...Isn't "elogies" a perfectly good word, as in the plural of "elogy?"
ge 5.14 french word for jellies
