It's pretty easy...almost there!
Not too bad...
hi sprite! I'm finding it hard but I always do at first
It's a friendly grid today.
the ar7 eludes me
I see lots of phantoms. Like omega
spell ar 7 brit way
that was my attempt at a musical clue at 12:thirty-two
as with ar 6
omega was my phantom, sprite :)
{{{{{ jili }}}}}- i totally love your icon & what you're saying - wtg !!!!!! :)))

a demain, douglas!
horrible jai!
Bye Douglas..
what fun Jai
Oh, yeah...she lives in Maui...was flying to Austin for business.....
my husband got tired of me talking about how if the quake had happened in Guam everything would have just gone on normally.
LOL! That's so true! My sister kept getting calls from her daughter complaining about the lack of power....
I was born on Guam?! Didn't think anyone else knew it existed.
:)
in Guam we're so used to natural disasters and power outages that every serious business has generators, business gets back to normal right away
hey dax!
hehehe
i was born in Guam too! just moved to Hawaii 5 years ago.
hey... did you live there?
ARB! guess what i did tonight!!
really!!! That's so weird. I lived there for my first 2 years
Fran and Dax - may I introduce you?
my family still lives there.
Hi peoples! and thanx Fran for suggesting the pink for Oct is breast cancer month.
yw chic!
What did you do tonight Melon? Musical?
wow. Military?
Hiya Chic!!!
hi chic, hi melon!
Hey Schroeder and Jilli.
I volunteer at the local Komen office on fri. and this is one of our busiest months...
nope. i saw the Maccabi Elite of Tel aviv play the Cleveland Cavaliers - pre-season basket ball. I've never even seen the Cavs - so this was our 1st time seeing LeBron James. The Jewsih community was out in force - there was even a contingency from Pittsburgh, PA>
Today's theme makes me sad, thinking of my friend who just died of breast cancer. And how no amount of awareness or checkups would have been able to save her. Still, I agree it is a good theme.
hey jilli
Did you root for the Cavs or Maccabi?
hi melon and chic
are there more than 3 a 6's?
Yay for mammograms or I wouldn't be here
(((((Sprite))))))) @}~~~~~~ a Rose for You!
I'm sorry about your friend, Sprite--I'm a survivor--you, too, Jill?
That is so pretty, jai, and so sweet :)
yes sprite - it makes me sad too - especially considering that so much time & $$ has been devoted & we are still losing so many good women
jillibus, i agree. me too. 11 year survivor
so sorry that's what took your dear friend, sprite
Hey Sprite! most of the volunteers are either survivors or someone in their family had breast cancer..
True helen. Still, we would lose a whole lot more of them if there were no checkups and all that.
God Bless you all.....Breast Cancer is mean....
Not as mean as it used to be
Maccabi! As did most of the crowd - We can root for Cleveland the rest of the year. When the loudspeaker would start the drumbeat to Queen's "We Will Rock You" the arean roared with "Maccabi! Maccabi!"Best camera shot - some yeshivah boys dancing in their seats to "Taking Care of Business" - they got down!

Fun -- they televized here and my husband watched.
back to the gird...
She was told all the time that it was discovered incredibly early and that nowadays there is a lot they can do against breast cancer. But in very young people cancer can grow at a really devouring and devastating speed, alas.
cool, ARB.
cool, ARB.
am i back?
there's an echo from you, melon :)
At 31 left, I think I must resort to the list
sorry dax, my daughter disconnected me.
no i wasn't military. my father was a professor at the local university.
it's ok.
Hi, everybody. Last week would have been my sister Rachel's 42nd birthday, but nasty BC took her at age 38. Is there anyone who doesn't have a BC story/ it is so universal, sadly.
I can't wait for kids
Melon--so sorry
So sorry to hear that, melon.
sprite, you are corect - premenopausal BC can be virulent.
tx Miranda. i had a biopsy myself this summer - LCIS. I take tamoxifen for prevention - talk about a club I don't want to join...
I'm sure it's changed alot since I was there in '80 thru '82
melon, so sorry. morning
morning MVA
i hope the theme hasn't brought up too many bad memories for everyone, but i thought it was important to remind people to get checked. my father died of melanoma when i was 9 so i'm always careful.
melon - that's so sad, i feel for you
hi MVA
Are you okay on the tamox? I had to stop it.
well, i'm going to bed, will take up the grid tomorrrow (that is later today) - i just popped in to tell ARB about the basketball game. Maccabeeeeee!
Fran, it is a good theme. Yes, lots of people are sad when they think about it. But not thinking about it is stupid.
laila tov, all.
dax, it is so different, not that you'd recognize it, but you wouldn't.
night melon!
laila tov, melon! Sleep well.
It brings up memories, Fran--but it's so important
Laila Tov Melon. As my mother would have said Shlof gesunterheit
I have google earth and I went there yesterday. Very interesting
i'm fine on tamoxifen - not one side effect, thank goodness. the plan is to take it for 5 years.
goodnight again.
google earth crashes my Netscape 7.2
Right--that's the usual time--I had to stop at 2--but most women do fine on it
i guess your family was military dax, am i right?
I had my hard drive crash a few weeks ago and the people I took it to installed it for free. I just booted up and there it was. I really enjoy it. I can go anywhere
why miranda, if i may ask? (then - bed!)
melon - I was on tamoxifen for 5 years with no side effects - now am on femara (letrozole) also no side effects.
will make a note jilli. one thing about being in Cleveland - the medical care is top-notch.
Just call me the side effect queen--I was premenopausal--started hemorraging (sp?--) and developing uterine cancer. That was 17 years ago. I'm fine.
jillibus, why the femara?
because tamoxifen is only effective for 5 years, they say, and femara is a different approach
I also have a good friend on Femara after the 5-year tamox
no one has ever suggested that to me. i will have to check on it, thanks so much
oooh, poor you, miranda. Actually, i've had a bit a of metrorrhagia, which in a way was good since now the insurance will approve my hysterectomy/oophorectomy (mom had OC)
there are some people who are not eligible for either - my sister-in-law, for example, because her BC was not estrogen positive
there are so many kinds of BC!
Got disconnected, so my message went into the ether--I had said what a sisterhood we have here--and all because of that pink ribbon...
yes indeed, miranda
I'm off to bed, remembering your sorrows and triumphs
I'm off also -- 19 for tomorrow
sleep well, miranda, and think about something lovely or fun or happy...
nite, nan-champ - I have 63 left - lol!
back for more... what do the 8s start with, if anyone has them already?
night miranda, dream of the good things :)
night nan, you too :)
still here - have the 8s ro8 & de 8 - want clues?
de & ro sprite
thanks melon and dingle, let me try and look for them first, will get back for clues if I get really stuck :)
you, too--I'm gone--and thanks
I could use a clue for the de, if you're still here; thanks
phantom: french for cheese, which wouldn't be valid even if it were here.
got to go now, will wear my pink ribbon, bbl
Found the de8.
I'd enter it anyway, sprite; most of my meager vocabulaary of French has passed through my entry box at one time or another
sam, think to unbalance, but Britishly.
I bow to the Great Sprite!
all the talk of crashing computers caused my browser to crash!
If I remember well, the french cheese isn't valid in enable. I have entered it before, lol. But it isn't in the grid today. My, jilli, dear, what for? *bows back*
just got back
wb, Fran!
for getting the de8, sprite!
hi all

Darn, I should learn to read. Thanks for pushing me back on the right track!
hi sam!

hiya fran!
hi aloy!

whoa, that didn't work.. hi jilli! I should be in bed, but insomnia rules..

Great clue Aloy Morning all
I'm not too proud to ask for the de8 (have the ro8)

We were there on a school day a few years ago. Several groups of kids from inner-city neighborhoods and their stillness was amazing. I would like to see if there have been any studies about how long the influence of that museum lasts on changing attitudes to anti-semitism. Is it a passing phase, or is there a lasting influence.
Thank you--I actually did it a couple of days ago--it's what I was in several places and right now three of my close friends are in the midst of BC treatment
Good morning,I can't sleep so I will Babble

Have a great Wednesday everyone!
There are many trips from Israel to Poland. There's a project to send all high school kids . I too would like to do a "roots" trip to that area.
ty kate
pilots in war? *scratches head in puzzlement*
Yes i saw a special with Ellie Weisell? sp
i'm not getting that one either kate.
One of the missions a pilot can get sent on is a re*** mission; it's short for reconnaissance, but the spelling is not intuitive
Elie Weisel, Pink Ranger

Cockney rhyming slang AAAAGGGHHH

I never cease to be amazed at letter combinations that turn out to be words!

ti6,27 sounds like part of a great joke. "What's a ti****? (insert punchline)
yeah poms are strange like that

And to think the bleeding Brits have the nerve to be snobbish about what Americans have done to the language.
what was the te 6 ? clue pls

Okay I'm pink now
hi all :)
hi Ata
Good morning - reporting for duty as well.
welcome to the herd Haz
hi ata & haz
good morning everybody:)
oooooh saphyre, I very rendomly came across the cross stitch chart I've done which is the same series as your pic - they are made by Color Charts, and mine's called Paul Brent's Nautilus Shell and Palmetto, so your's would probably be Paul brent's something and something!
Good morningall!
thanks Ata - now I know what I'm looking for!
Morning Haz and Atalalante and Flask and all
congrats saphyre, hiya m3. Sorry this didn't enter earlyer.
Haz....did u see 'Its me or the dog' last night on channel 4??
Good morning FMitch - did you make it onto the grid yesterday at any stage?
Hello Flask - no, I have a husband who is a Man Utd fan. I leave you to draw your own conclusions as to what we (he) watched instead.
Only 1st thing yesterday morning Haz but didn't finish.
Hi Jean and Flask1
I would have loved to see the spaniels!
Well, at least this is a short one - or maybe you have already finished, FMitch?
Oh thats a shame it was two 'Cockers', and very naughty they were too.....
awwww were there spaniels? we had to watch the footie too
Sadly one of them had to be put down...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! That must have been awful.
oh NO! I think I'm glad I didn't watch it now! let me guess, was he / she golden?
I have the luxury of more than telly.......so I am not forced to watch the footie....
thanks for the vote of confidence Haz, but I am stalling at 57 words right now.
Yes it was thought he had a neurogical problem....
You'll get there!
golden's are always problematic because of inbreeding in Victorian times
no they were both Black!
oh! that's more unusual! well I'm REALLY glad I didn't watch it then!
It was sad....tears all round .....
*hugs my black cocker protectively*
But the dog must have been really bad because the dog trainer woman seems to be a miracle worker normally.
It is facinating wathcing her and they way she sorts things out.
Oh she's wonderful.....their problem was snatching food from everywhere and anywhere....
even off the plates as they ate.....
and one of them had bitten one of the kids THREE times...
what were the owners like?
and after the programme had finished he did it again and this time she had to be rushed to hospital....leading of course, to her demise!!
Oh the man of the house used to let them sit at the table.....and sleep in the bed
he needed to be trained too....
its always the people that deserve a whack and intensive training!
yes exactly!
It's usually the same for parents of unruly children as well!
I hate it when people say they have a "bad dog". its 99% of the time them that let the dog get away with its behaviour
Yep Haz!...thats right too.....
Or - di5/12!
We have a Staffie....and she is sooooo gentle....people are amazed once they take the time to get to know her....
awwwwww
staffies can be adorable!
refresh
thats Cally...with peaches the kitten
oh baby! what's her name?
and I had to put a new Hobbit pic up :)
What a gorgeous pic Flask!! you must love her!
Peaches was killed soon after this was taken!
Oh yes MrP....we do!
oh no :(:( but what a gorgeous looking doggy!
poor peaches!!
My son [he's 27] was in tears when he had to go and collect her.....it was horrible!
she died on her first birthday!
oh no!
Oh Flask! poor little thing!
rite
oops!
It's started.......
am angsted by kitty death!
Ok....enough chatter.....am away to babble.....
thanks Atal.....lol

That thought has stunned MrP into silence!
well, it is a serious thing, maybe she left to work on it?
oh there you are.
(don't tell lickety about that).... it would be nice!!
Oh, we're good at keeping secrets. Look how good Atalante is at not putting words from the grid into the chat box.
LOL!! am not saying another word!
lol
wait, did i miss some words?
Scroll back FranMag - although she has been pretty tame this morning.
i'll be back in a bit.
one day of mistakes never to be forgotten .... :P
ONE DAY!!!
(Truth is we're only sorry you don't do it more often and with bigger words)
perhaps if someone leaves a baby on the doorstep.... I am off to the RSPCA! that will cure me. my new baby can be a woofie or a pusspuss!! I love my animals!!
I could make up some bigger words if you'll like!
hi guys
Yes, Atalante, and we like sheep would type them in and then think that Atalante has lost her touch....

miss abs was my old teacher
she is an awesome teacher (best)
and she is a lovely teacher!
trenfed
recetty
zitrot
just wondering
lovely words Ata, particularly like recetty
oh ata.... real words would be awesome!!
I liked zitrot personally!!
zitrot - a condition of teenagers who don't take care of their skin.
funny!!!!
was pleased with zitrot!
am impressed with zitrot!! would be a great name for a cleansing agent for teens!
do any of you guys know what miss abs changed her user to?
and zitrotty is equally good
right am away dentist appointment urgh lol have a good day everyone:)
I don't know judge.
Sorry can't help Judge. Bye jean

Good morning marso!
Thats a lot to deal with marso

Ata have you ever tried any of the PC programs for making cross stitch patterns?
but lost so many to this horrendous disease,,,i live for today an sod tomorrow lol
you will be fine marso!!
hi flask
Hiya marso
oooh patterns, I looked up from the grid just in time
fingers an toes crossed thanks mrp :)
no, I haven't. they are meant to be pretty good though
agent
marso - early detection can be the key to a good result. I hope all goes well for you.
Ooops!!
hmm I think I may buy one - there are some pictures I would love to use
cheers flask lol
yw....lol
Thank you Flask - seeing the ag word reminds me of Pierce and distracts me from the itch brought on my the stitch talk......
how many ladies here have had cancer/tumours??
they caught my sis at stage 4 an said she wont make it now shes fine so im quite positive about it all
I haven't, but lost both parents to cancer
i lost my mum and my nan to it
they do look fun, saphyre!
That's good marso - they're making advances all the time.
Yes Metal....am the same as you!
Fingers crossed MrP - not so far but Father died from cancer as have several other relations
I've had my father and 5 close friends / relatives die from it
amazing what they can do now haz
so many people are 'touched' by cancer... is so many forms. It is very important to help out when you can with the money for research and education.... I feel for you all.
my father died of melanoma when i was 9.
this was before the warning signs of skin cancer became so well known, so education is definitely the key.
Daddy had Carcinoma of the sigmoid colon, Mama had Oat cell Pancreatic cancer
they told my aunty last week that they are stopping her chemo as it had no effect so now they just offer her pain relief
oh marso, that's rough
hear hear MRP. My wonderful oncologist is deep into research (into melanoma) and one of hs concerns is constantly find funds for further research. I would not be here today without their advances
she is up an about an still fighting but with no hope at the end so its very sad,,an the best is she has never smoked or drank!!!
good for you lynxxx!
hi lyn :)
funding is the most important things for continuing the fight into finding a cure and helping people understand how to help themselves early on! you make a wonderful statement lynxxx
im stuck on last 3, de6, en6 and re5 can anyone help plz
i mean de8
de - to throw things off kilter
en6/24 - to make very cross
Hi marso, sorry to hear about your troubles. Keep positive though - you hear such good things abot breast cancer - seems to be many more long term survivors now.
re5 - either use hot oil again or attempt again, or fashion that looks backward
de8 - to throw things off balance.
there are more people getting through it now than ever before so they are amazing
an thanks all for listening,,,it does get a bit scarey at times,,,
dezitrot
oh love that one ata!!
wish my friend had been one of them :( Sad chat today, I cannot seem to stop crying.
thanks all, im done.
now you are just playing with us!!
The new dance craze as begun by Lucille Ball's husband?
very good ata lol
u ok sprite??
lol haz! yes!
*hug hug spritey*
ok, but sad, marso. Will be fine though.
(((sprite)))
i know a woman that has been through two bouts with cancer and is waiting to find out if she has another. she still stays so positive, very inspiring.
Ata thanks for that word got 3 out of it.
to listen to some stories makes u realise how lucky you r!!!
oh Sprite! - think of the good times as well as the loss
that's true marso.
we should have an icon day for all those know who are battling / have battled, to follow pink day
I do, lynxxx! It's just that the loss is so very recent and today's chat keeps me focussing on it. Guess it will help to get it out of my system a bit, right? And you guys are great, that helps too.
babbler is looking for icon ideas, you should email her ata.
argh... sorry for posting a word.
my neighbour is 32, she is breastfeeding her 1 year old child, and thought that she had mastitis... she actually has about 2 months to live.... it is just sad those that are left behind.
that is so terrible, mrP.
I would if I could ever get her email addy to work!
Taking a quick break.
babbler_2006@yahoo.co.uk
very sad,,those poor people left behind
later haz
later haz
bye haz, cu later

bye haz
wow, wonder why.
don't know!
we just need another Z for Drizzt to be there
I've been searching for that Do'Urden
Can't believe I ahve spent ages typing round and round the ot looking for something obscure only to find its a normal word!
very normal! and very cute
One of the most beautiful sights I have seen is the large sea ot**** in California playing and feeding at sunrise.
they are ot***ly adorable
good morning babblers
hi jonny
hello jonny - we didn't put you off yesterday! welcome back
I love those animals
hi jonny
hi all who've arrived while I've been looking for the last 6
ttfn and cu are in the grid today
hello metal
bye sprite tc
not leaving, just saying :)
sorry lol
hi everyone, interesting grid today
hi pappou, yes it is
hi pap
hi penny!
hi PT
good morning everyone -- short grid today!
Hi PT
I'm at 47 words and coming to a stall
hi ch!
hi ch
its not exactly *easy* today ...
hi ch
I haven't come across the 7s and 8s yet, what do they begin with? I haven't gone to the lists to check
ro8 and de8
I stumbled on one 8 -- ro8
8 = de and ro
thanks, sprite
I also have 2 tr7s so far
5 to go and I think they've hidden themselves well
and ar7 and ag7
Just found my last D: D5/22 = 12 but change vowel
well, I'm finding a bunch of ro 6s, thank you
ooh weird word sprite!
thank you for that one sprite!
isn't it just!
*thanks monkey profoundly*
I think you have a better class of monkey than me, I will have to upgrade mine :)
and that makes firework. Can I clue something for anyone before I leave?
yay sprite!!!!
congrats sprite
hurrah for sprite!!
lol FMitch
congrats sprite
Congrats sprite
can i hav a clue 4 the i please
yay, sprite
en6/24 would be good, or if not that I have four others ;o)
YAY for Sprite!
jonny, angered
nm on en6/24
actually that clue sort of works for ml too.
I had trouble with another one: re5/14. first 4 letters of 'just happened' and then double consonant. meta: make very angry
sprite, i think that was the one kate clued as she was leaving.
probably missed that while I was at the doctor's.
oooh, 3 to go now
go meta goooo! :)
i didn't get her clue, my monkeys found it.
wats this about monkeys
*gives Fran's monkey a banana*
brb, hubby wants computer
jonny - it's to do with the theory that if you gave a monkey a type-writer, eventually, after a long time, it might just come up with Shakespeare. The same theory applies to babblers who enter random letters in the hope that there may be a word at the end of it.
jonny: monkeytyping = randomly trying combinations to find a word. We sort of deny that we do it and blame our monkeys ;)
lol ok thanks
clues please for a's
monkeys just found fe6/33 for me
which A's Levia?
Levia - think of James Bond, what knights wear to go to battle and where it is stored
and Silver, esp. in heraldry
wow Haz, that is brilliant!
as for what knights wore... don't forget the different spellings
Any excuse to think of James Bond, especially the Pierce Brosnan variety....
Haz, thanks for the knight clues, dont get James Bond
I don't know what it is with me and en's. I always blank out and then when I finally find them, I look for a fish
James Bond is a special sort of ag5/14
Levia, Bond is a secret A.
i feel sooo stupid
Pappou: I have the same thing with Ks.
I think Roger Moore was my favorite
Lol Levia... join the club!
dont we all, sprite!
Sean Connery, all the way
sprite, forget the Ks. I just start entering C words with a K and am surprised they take
I'm with you, metal -- it's Sean, definitely
Im with you metal!!!
but then, I like Sean Connery in just about anything
it is a good tactic, Pappou!
Sean defiitely!
I'd probably pay good money to hear him read the phone book
LOL, metal
Sean, anytime. Anywhere. Any movie.
*grins* especially if he looked like he did in Medicine Man, or The Rock
Oh good. I have Pierce to myself.
argh, meta... now I am drooling.
you're welcome to him!!
no, I want Pierce too, just not as Bond
One man who gets more beautiful with every year he gains, that Sean... *sigh*
horrid Pierce. his first wife told him she had been diagnosed with cancer, and within a week he'd moved out to live with a new girlfriend
ok, enough of this Sean chat... I"m losing concentration. Two to go and then I can head off to bed to dream of Seaneen in all his cinematic incarnations (shades of Highlander here)
I didn't know that about Pierce... thought he was with his wife 'til the end
Want some help with that, meta? (No, not with Sean!)
he went back to her after a bit ...
that is just terrible, Ata!
my best friend went to school with his kids - insider info!
ti6/27 and/or ge6/24 would be most welcomeindeed
ge + what you do with a house you don't buy
now one I really respected (at least from what I read about him and his actions after his wife was diagnosed) was Charles Bronson
ti: breast (how fitting) + first 3 letters of iron
bows low to the all magnificent spritey... ty, ty, ty
ti6 - a jaunty hat
Fireworks, meta? (looks over shoulder looking for that magnificent being)
oh! its rhyming slang! thats cool
yep, pyrotechnics here. thank you for all the help
WTG meta!
hurrah for metaleather!!!
Congrats metal!
may I clue anyone before scurrying off to snuggle, snore and droolinmysleepwhiledreamingofSean?
go dream, lol. You are drooling already!
we release you from clue duties! go drool!
sweet dreams, metal :)
'night/morning/etc. all. have a stupendous arbitrary time unit designation of your choosing.

Thanks lyn.
11 to go and they are like pulling teeth today - keep missing really obvious ones.
Morning caitlyn. I've got to nip off to collect my new specs soon. First pair of varifocals.:(
hello Caitlyn
I expect I'll be seeing double or quadruple later. (The lenses, not booze! LOL)
I've got varifocals Jacs and they do take a while to get used to.
FMitch - That' what I'd heard. (The getting used to, not the you having them.)
Took me about 2 weeks on and off as the eyes almost have to retrain.
Jacula your icon is really good
My overactive imagination is now seeing newspaper headlines, 'FMITCH GETS VARIFOCALS!'
Thanks cait. Is it animated when you click on it?
15 to go here but might leave til morning - bye all
Old news Jacs as I've had mine for quite a while now :)
'Bye lyn. See you later.
Perhaps we should use FMitchs specs asa icon!! Yes Jacula
Morning caitlyn
FMitch - When I went from frames to rimless specs it took me quite a while to adjust.
Morning FMitch
Anyone want any clues before I go and feed the cats etc?
*~*~*~fireworks!~*~*~*

Good morning/afternoon/evening Babblers!
Hi scrabbler!
How is life down under?
the kids are getting themselves to bed! I must be blessed!! thing are hot and thundery! how is everything with you!?
Cold! Winter is on its way to stay.
Ah! time for the heaters!
I turned my furnace on Sept 28. I like to wait til October, but just couldn't this year. I am focusing on the fun parts of winter--crosscountry skiing and the beauty of snow on trees.
Oh scrabbler! I love the cold on the farm!! I really mis the cold when it is gone cause I just don't get to walk like I do in winter! summer is a stinker here!
You live on a farm? Cool.
at least in winter you can put a couple of layers on and go out... in summer, I can't go naked!
Well, I can go naked! but my husband wouldn't leave me the hell alone!!
True--it's easier to warm up than cool off.
LOL--
good evening everyone
I don't live on a farm, I have a farm and a beach holiday house... I live in the city. The kids have the best of both worlds thank goodness!! we holiday and weekend on both where we can
Hi Andree

Good morning everyone. Anne, are you around?
You are very lucky!
Hi Eva and kth!
Hi Eva.
Hi Kate
Yes scrabller, broke down last night and turned the heat on. Was too tired to make a fire. Not the coldest night, but damp and bone chilling.
I was in Burlington for a vacation 2 wks ago--loved it! We drove to Stowe, Smuggler's Notch, Jericho...one day. My head is still in VT.

Got the fe5, TY. Never saw that word before.
Argh, gott to get ready for work. I'll be back later today. have a great day/night everyone.
a lot of the leaves are gone now, but the rain deepens the golds that are left. And yes, there's always ice cream and cheese. I like the ice cream cemetery at B & J's.

Sometimes there are so many words that I don't recognize that I wind up monkey typing short easy words because I don't see them.
I'm almost half done, time for a lunch break
I am beginning to wonder what real words are after babbling for a few months
LOL I just had a few days away from babble as my son decide to take over computer now I have to get back into babble mode lol

what'd you lose chj???
the icon calendar has been updated through almost the end of Niovember, everyone.
my last word won't add to my list...it keeps saying that I have already added it...but it isn't showing up on the list...
We used to play regular trivia, men against women, but there was always a 2 - 1 ratio, and the women always won.
Refresh and see if it helps - it usually does.

You're not supposed to give away more than two letters in a clue!
Brilliant clue haz. Got it. Lovely word. Just looked it up Must drop it into a conversation sometime.
I am sorry...I am still new...and I only give clues like I have seen them given by others...I didn't know that there were rules to giving the clues...
green....youre clue should read fe + a metropolis is a c*** (change the last consonant)
It'll be more useful than the hairy hedgehog, that's for sure!
Hairy hedhog? Which one's that?
no harm no foul green
Oops! I meant hedgehog - though hedhog is a good word too.
thanks for the pointers...once again very sorry...
It's okay, greengeeny. The accepted convention is that you try not to give away more than two letters in a clue. Some people have been transgressing - but you'll know for again.
te6/21 is the hairy hedgehog. Start with a number and end with what sounds like a shambles.
Ooh. I'll just have a look. I'm still on the ge words.
Well this evening I am touring a local winery with some friends...so I am off to shop for a new sweater to wear..have fun all
Oh yes. The lovely te6/21. Don't think I'll stroke it.

wtg Ron
Wow! Brilliant, Ron. I have 6 left to find.
congrats ron
to ea** a living, aknitter
and two different endings, aknitter
OMG !! hangs head
I have the homonym of the bird, aknitter - ea4/5, and one who does it, ea6/18
I'm not doing that at the moment. Am babbling instead.
and past tense ea6/21
*pats aknitter's head* that's okay!
think i need to clean my glasses
Don't have the 5th E, though, would love a hint!
It's probably hunger, aknitter. It's almost lunch tme here in the East.
e 5: another word for door
bugzy it is the doorway
Doh! I have the G and the A that end with it!!
thats a good reason judy, i'll go with that (not that i am dense today -- no -not that)
hello today. need some help wu=tih ar 6/24 x2 adn 7/44 please
Love the icon, inge :)
a 7 stick the a before the ge6 noble person
And TY, also, to inge and aknitter
ar6/24 - either the french for silver (add a well mannered man) or ar6/24 British rendition of what knights wear to battle.
The ar7/44 is where the British knight stores his ar6/24 when not fighting battles.
thanks bugzy. Magzel think of british spelling for military protection worn
thanks haz and inge, that was a great help
Wahoo! Fireworks!
missing an ag 5 -- have the spy
yeah hydra
Glad to help, magzel.
WTG Aknitter
Yay for hydra!
Congrats knitter.
bravo Hydra
ag5/14 - the spy ending in a vowel rather than consonant.
WTG Hydra (reading comprehension problems)
ty haz
congrats to me? did i do something great?
I meant Hydra, I skipped the coffee today, can you tell?
you are great aknitter! (i misstyped Hydra's name )
ty for the cheers! perhaps they will jump start my brain
de 8/50 please
reduce
stick your de in front of the ce 6 middle
de8 - to knock off balance - use the British spelling for the second part of the word.
Sorry again!! I've typed that a thousand times, don't know why I still am...
hey haz what is the other 8?
ro8/40 - even more decayed or horrible
thanks akinitter and haz
ty haz, great clue that is a mouth ful of a word to say
tirent
Isn't it just!
if you all are going to type words in the wrong box please make them real words. i fall for it everytime and try them!!
LOL aknitter - i did the same!
Off the first r in the grid, are they all decay related? I have 5 that all start with the same 5 letters... wonder if I'm missing one?
i need a clue for ti 6/27 please
the last is an ry4, bunny
There are 5 words starting with the ro combination.
ty Bugzy
i only have 4 of those ro's
hmmmm 5 left. 2 4s, 2 6s. yuck
ro5/10 starts the series,
thats the one i am missing haz
ti6/27 - *** mouse (kind of bird) + beginning of duchess of york's last name
Just pretend you are taking off the final letter of ro6/21
found it ty
Okay - time to take a break, walk dog, start tea etc. See you later!
morning all
the duchess has a last name? thought it was york LOL
Later, Haz
morning klaurel
Hi Klaurel
bye Haz
ok, three left, time to go make a sandwich
please tell me this grid is small and easy
Bye Haz, Hi Klaurel :)
well it is small
it is more difficult than yesterday
bye haz ty for your help
It isn't to bad, a few odd balls, but they build off one another (so far).
thanks aknitter. had to think about that name, but got it
Ugh and I didn;t finish yesterday
haven;t found time to finish in days
All those ologiesiesies got to me yesterday.
finished
how many G6s are there?

congrats, scatty
glad there arent 11 G6!!
do you want any help
hmm, sure. i need a 7, let me figure out which one...thanks!
mind you giving clues to some of these words are going to be tricky
scatty, I need ce 6/21 - I have the one in the middle
i have ag 7, ar 7, and tr 7
there are 2 tr7's
aha...i have the thing that the horse did
ce 6/ 21 is either small change + hook+ 1st vowel or small change + hook + 2nd vowel
have you got the past tense tr7
yes I do
scatty, thanks but I had it already but thanks!
try the 2nd vowel+ fourth letter
been ordered into the kitchen, a hungry husband has just turned up for tea and the cooker is still cold, woops,
annie- change your last vowel
may be not, the dogs are taking him out for a walk first so i will stay put for a bit longer
tr7/28 is what you would call the horse who's tr****ing. change the last letter of the tr7/32
abe, I had the word ---didnt realize it
His hands don't work?
ah....thanks bugzy (big duh on my part)
Hi torgone

Scatty, I shall be in England from Nov. 11 to Nov 15 on our way to WA for Xmas--is there anything I can do for you in regard to messages etc to your sister? We're going to New Zealand too on our way home
Bye scatty
the only members of my (albeit very small) family that live in England are my mother and my grandmother. everyone else is in Scotland, Aus or South Africa
Where in England are you going hetty?
Yahoo my puppy went to his crate to take a nap on his own for the first time!
thats sad temple, thats the trouble with Jons younger brother who has had three kids in New Zealand, i doubt whether we or his parents will ever find the money to visit, we do get pics sent over all the time and chat on the phone
Done, I'm scooting off to Sudoku so I can get started on baking these cakes. Ya'll have an excellent day, back tomorrow.

do you TO?! I didn't know there were US Cheltenham's!
hetty sonds like a busy trip
Atalante, Cheltenham is a lovely place to live--given my choice though I'd settle again in Worcester
oh yes. there's a chelten ham sectin of philadelphia, also cheltenham town. they adjoin each other.
It's supposed to be our last big trip before we pop our clogs
we also have amny welsh names - bala cynwyd, llanfair
CHeltenham is my home town. Lived there most of my life. I'm fully aiming to move back over there when possible, but probably to the northern end of the Cotswolds, somewhere up by Moreton or Stow
Welsh names! Cool!
cheltenham has the highest property taxes in the my home county. i looked at a condo there but taxes were too high.
Ata, in the north Cotswolds Winchcombe is very lovely
There were a lot of Welsh people who migrated to the USA (im not that good at history)
Winchcombe's lovely. My step-brother lived there for ages and ages. So touristy though.
afternoon babblers
Hi Evanadine
Ata I lve Stow in the Wold Hi evan
*sigh* by the time i get to travel europe, i'll be too old to enjoy it......
well, my day hasnt gotten any crappier, but i dont think its gotten any better yet either...heh... at least the salad bar in the cafeteria was fresh + fully-stocked!
That's the trouble with the Cotswolds--all the lovely places have become tourist-ridden. It's the same the whole world over---
Stow's gorgeous. But again ... *so* touristy *flops*
i need clues for 53 5/20 and the last 5/14

it was franmag :)
a miracle about credit cards??
TO who is in your photo?
i lost my credit card in disney worl, and my cash, and my travelling checks, and my id.
ren that is a touching story. our mother and fathers' generation was so tough and matter of fact....
did the balance get paid off miraculously? :P
yes... the card slipped to the floor and a series of bizarre "coincidences" led to its recovery
caitlyn, it's my mom marie and 4 of her siblings

If it were my own story I'd put it in our blog--I'll ask Helen when we meet for a final editing rap later today if she migt consider permitting me to share it with you--it's much more deep and delicate than appears at first

sorry aknitter, I don't have the re 5/10 yet
okay, also in the my account page there is a little icon image -- for you right now it's the gray head. Under it there is a link that says "edit" click on that and it will take you to a page. Again, the instructions are pretty clear. You can search "google images" to find something you like, or if you have a nice pic already stored on your computer you can upload it directly. Note that non-square images get "squished" when used as icons.
me neither
re 5/14 please the last one? begging and pleading these are my last 2 words

Hi Jaime
what a morning already - Tea broke a tooth this morning falling into the kitchen counter
Nice to meet you THeFiz!
yikes!
oh no! Is she okay now?
OUCH! that sounds awful! and nice to meet you too
she's a snaggletooth, and we have an appt. with the dentist at 1 to at least get it filed down - it is rough and she is playing with it with her tongue.
I got an 8!
yep, broken teeth are weird feeling. Lucky it's a baby tooth!
poor thing. baby tooth or grownup tooth?
*claps stid on the back*
this kid is my heart attack. I have a group of about five friends with kids all the same age and she is the only one to have had stitches, to have surgery (dental work under general) and now, to break a tooth.

any clues for either GA 6/24..stuck on both.
Angelsong: why not set up a gmail acct for Babble, and use the calendar that comes with it?
GA 6/24 either or both! Thanks.
one GA 6/24 is the last name of the actress who was the star of Alias, and she's also married to Ben Aflack now

the other is a red gemstone
great, thanks. Do you have the other.

FE 6/33 the last clue for it made no sense to me. Thanks!!
I"ll just have to "spell" it since the meaning doesn't lend itself to a good clue. fe + hook letter + neuter pronoun + sometimes vowel

msilver, so sorry to hear that news
to the end flosey?

I'm sorry msilver - it is a beatable disease - my mother was diagnosed over 5 years ago and is doing well. I hope that they caught it early!

yes they are. not much to do, except limit caffiene
that's pretty common
I seem to have weeks, sometimes three a month with tons of pain. I punched my husband in our sleep the other night because he rolled over and touched them.
tht is very extreme.
one cup of coffee a day doesn't seem like enough to cause this much pain, but maybe it is for me.
and right when my period starts, no pain, but only for a week or two
yah, what happens when you breast feed? how can you deal with the pain then? arrgghh
iif i were you i would go to a specialist. if it's that bad you need to know
