not me
K. When you do... you know, I am here! lol.
lol
lol kit
itsonme - ta 7/28 - the most tan
Kit - think about a vulcano
I just got et 4/4!
giggle pets the puppy
umm did your dog manage to teleport?
et4/4 - teh everlasting volcano
an active volcano in E Sicily. 10,758 ft.
uh, careful there, not exactly a pup - 100 lb german shepherd, but she's usually pretty friendly
Thanks teaNcrackers!
In this case, however, it's not a volcano but a laboratory vessel -- with a lower case E
you betcha!
How about te 7/28?
finally figured it out. Thanks all. I've got to get to bed so that I can get up early, but I got all my e's done yay!
thanks to everyone for helping.
itsonme - you are in the grid less one letter :)
norrr i like puppys my friend has a 150 pound ish french mastiff
good nite kit
what? lol.
herinern - wow - those are huge, but the few that i've known usually excel at laying around, barely moving
I am gonna try and go one letter at a time
last call, te7/28?
helen this is trained as a security gaurd dog
http://s24.photobucket.com/albums/c11/ Mali_nut/
http://s24.photobucket.com/albums/c11 /Mali_nut/
this is what he looks like the other is a belguim shepherd, trained also in security
How about te 4/8?
nvm found it!
hello Babblers
Hello
hi colin!
hi Jilli
phantom - botox
Hi colhad
helen those dogs also exel in being non exsistent in the brain department
hi Angb
to 7/32?
why are these dogs trained for security?
loyal dogs, but I have heard they can turn against the owner, German Shephards
What - shepherds - doubt it - you might get that from other breeds - but not shepherds!
um jilli the belguim shepard is from police bloodlines and needs its brain excersised otherwise its not fair on the dog and the other dog needs disciplin
Ditto with german shepherds - they are working dogs
there are so many myths about so many breeds of dogs, when it's usually the owners who cause them
such creative spellings for shepherd -- and Belgium...
true jill
I would agree there jilli.
sorry i have a new keyboard and not enough coffee in my system
sorry i have a new keyboard and not enough coffee in my system
breeding dogs is wrong. adopt from yr local pound.
yeh, gotta think sheep herder
Or get rid of people who breed the dogs that are not wanted stonefox
anyone have the 5th to4/4?
infernal, the breed is the Belgian Shepherd and there are three varieties, Tervuren, Malinois and Laeken. I know whereof I speak.
stone both dogs are rescue dogs, one is from a lady that couldn't take him overseas an the other is from a litter of puppys that would have been destroyed
don't buy pitbulls, too dangerous
thanks jilli
ah
ps 4/5? oy, the words in here!
i have a pitbull beagle mix and shes the sweetest thing ever
colhad that is not true about pitbulls, its the toss owners that cause the problems that and poor breding
pitbulls are meant to be banned here but there are loop oles
Stone fox, breeding dogs carefully, with attention to temperament, health and pedigree is RIGHT and responsible breeders and responsible owners are wonderful. It's also fine to adopt dogs from shelters, but they should never end up there.
errr sodding keyboard, holes
people breed em for fighting
Oh please!
ps 4/5? Clue?
no vowels
try shooshing someone up, itsonme...
ooh ohkay thanks
okay - i'm back from the slide show - great dogs! is that a pom?
hi all :) it tends not to be pure bred pit bulls that are used for fighting, anyway, its cross-bred pit bulls
don't tell anybody!
colhad true, but my parents have a staffy and thats the next bred to be banned, stupid parents should also be on that list that fail to not tell their offspring 'not to touch the nice doggy"
jili - ITA with you !!!! careful breeding is crucial to maintaining the quality of the breed - notice i said CAREFUL breeding
the troubl with the typeface in chat is that pom looks like porn - am i wrong?
melon your naughty
i nearly got a very different impression of hk....;)
The third to 5/10
herinfern - lol - i agree about the parents
me not naughty - me have bad eyesight! and - it's the font's fault.
lol mel!
my friends dog has to have a muzzle on when we walk her as little kids have tormented her so she will bite if scared. I find it funny when i hold her and then pat her through the muzzle as she wont bite me and laugh at the peoples faces
staffs and "similar breeds" have already been banned in Ontario because of public ignorance. "Similar breeds" include a wide variety because many peope don't even know what a pitbull or a staff or an amstaff really look like and think Boxers and who knows what else are the same thing. They are ALL gentle dogs if CAREFULLY bred and sold to the right owners
so was that a pomeranian - cause i have a pom also - i have 2 shepherds 120 & 100lbs (that we kept from 2 litters we bred) a medium sized rescue mutt & the 6 lb. pom - hubby has a guard dogs security business - he is always rescuing overly agressive dogs & training the them, but he takes mostly shepherds -
and i also have never, ever heard of a german shepherd turning on it's owner, they are one of the most loyal & protective breeds there are
Yes ... in fact ... they are one owner dogs usually, and would never turn on the owner.
I have, hk. I know 2 people that has happened to and they were loving dog owners
wow... lotsa long posts!
lol
In Australia the pitbull is a restricted breed. In Victoria if you already own a pitbull terrier it has to be desexed. These are considered to be feral animals.
exactly jili - most of the problem lies with ignorant owners & knee-jerk lawmakers
Considered by whom????
It is interesting after having german shepherds for two decades I have a golden retriever ... that is a major cahnge.
Ata - that is interesting ... it would be great to find out why the dog did it ... they do not bite their owners for no reason.
Anyway before this gets too carried away should go and finish cooking dinner. Hungry family... and I am half way thru the grid. This is an easy one.
Hi to Everyone
I don't know in one case, it was when I was a kid, I will ask about the other and get back to you!
Occasionally a dog has a screw loose, just like people but far more rarely if you think about it.
i agree ang - it is not in their nature - shepherds tend to be very serious dogs
Hi Tiny!
the 5th to 4/4?
morning all!
Is this grid hard or easy
attagirl, itsonme, stick to the game! LOL!
lol
spangles i say its feral people not the dogs that are a problem, my parents staffy would eiter lick you to death or crush you with 40pounds of dog
I would like to get all the T's before I go to bed..
I have only 6 Ts left.
we raised a litter of pit bulls a couple of years ago - there was a car towing lot a few doors from where lenny kept his guard dogs & these guys had this poor pregnant pit bull, chained, laying the the 100 degree plus heat with no food & only watered her once per day, after 2 days of him noticing this - he took his bolt cutters, cut through their fence & brought the dog home- then he went & told them he was a dog lover & told them what he did & asked if they had any problem with it - lenny is 6'3", 275 lbs & can be extrememly intimidating - those jerks had nothing to say & didn't even threaten to call the cops
my sister has a saffy he is very friendly. The pitbull is not the same breed
good for him!
good for him
people like that jerk make me sick, helen
good for him
I need te7/28, the 3rd to5/10, to6/18, the 5th to4/4, the 4th to5/10, and to7/32
so, i raised these pit bull pups same as we had raised our shepherd litters, had neighborhood kids come over on their 11am & 7pm playing schedule & those pups turned out to be the sweetest little pit bulls, we still hear from a few of the owners- how every pleased they are with their pits - it's all in how you raise them
itsoneme, the 5th to 4/4 is the sound a child's horn makes
i will tell him you all said that - it will make him smile, thanks
and the to 5/10 immediately after is pl of the 4/4
thankyou angelakk
it is! the problem lies with people who either don't care for their dogs, or train them to be aggressive
my cousin had a pitty and he used to used as a 'horsey; by the kids
sorry, itsonme - too busy bemoaning the ignorance of some people about dogs to have even tried to get all the t words!
lol, jilli!
Ok, 4 left then.
I need te7/28, the 3rd to5/10, to6/18, and to7/32
on a final note, my parents dog is known as a bulldozer or epidermis as she follows my dad evey where. sorry right back to puzzle
yes, me too, have been tied up with the dog chat - just like many people feel sorry for dogs who are kept outside year round - dogs are not people, have diff. body temps & different type of skin & of course fur - our guard dogs are all outside dogs, in winter they all have large igloos with straw, we've only had to shelter them once in the last 10 years, when temps got really frigid
dogs are people with fur
hubs always says dogs are better than people
I'd hate to see a person equivalent of a spaniel! Someone with ADD maybe?
itsonme... 3rd to 5/10...when something is heavy, you say it weighs a to*, then make it french
we were breeders and exhibitors of champion Great Danes who were also pets and obedience trained. One day a guy drove up on a motor bike and asked if we trained dogs. Because of his attitude I asked "Trained for what?" "For attack", he said. "Never," I replied. " a Dane could kill someone." "That's what I want." said this jerk, "If someone ties to steal my motorbike, he deserves to die." End of story.
LOL ata !!!!
then to 6/18 is plural
thanks, Norad
i received a funny e-mail about how many dogs does it takes to change a light bulb - pretty funny, something different for every breed
Thank you norad!!
yw angelakk
jill my friends dog is trained to pee on cars at command, handy when her partner annoys her
halfway, but stumped by the ot 7 & 8, the to 7 (even tho i have the words right before & after) both an7s and the so7. help, please?

wish it would hurry up and get light. spaniel wants to go for a walk, but black spaniel against black fields and black sky doesn't work very well ....
at you need a floro collar on the dog
it's a yellow seasoning in spanish cooking,
hello all
they don't work. she does have a collar with little LEDs on, but its still so easy to lose her!
hello
i have a ta 7 but doubt if thats needed
umm tracking device?
I'll take a clue tazpink...
ta7 and wa7 are opposites of each other
that sounds better! actually ... I can see the fields from my window now, that should be good enough. back in a bit!
how i can have te4 and te5 but not the 7 between them - did my monkeys take a nap?????
lay under the sun daily to get the MOST TA
got them both, thx taz and babblephish
oh, babblefishm that was gooood - the other wa is the state of being "wa...." - - oddly there is no state of "ta....."
;-)
those te's exams melon??
heriner - yes - that's the one, i tried looking for it, but i can't find it
yup
umm did i give a word away?
i love the german shepherd one, how the dog first must excort everyone to safety, return & make sure he didn't miss anyone, ...
i think there was another one that referred to 'go ask the great dane"
te + plural letter + to4/4 melon
tx ding, it's sort of like bunting for an exam.
oh, i was just looking at the definition - sez it is an old french/british coin
OK, me hearties, ot8 and another an7 - not the yellow one - & i can go to bed.
finally
it was a classic case "i shoulda turned left..."
golden retriever: the sun is shining, the day is young, we've got out whole lives ahead of us, and you're inside worrying about a stupid burned out light bulb?
yep
border collie: just one. and then i'll replace any wiring that's not up to code.
dachshund: you know i can't reach that stupid lamp!
rottweiler: make me.
boxer: who care? i can still play with my squeaky toys in the dark.
Finished the Ts! thank you dingleberry!
melon, the ot8 shares an ending with something you might use to look at the stars
lab: oh, me,me!!!! pleeeeeeeeese let me change the light bulb! can i? can i? huh? huh? huh? can i? pleeeeeeze, please, please, please!
going to bed... G' nite everyone!
an7 was a yellow spice?
oh, thankyouthankyouthankyou - i had the prefix - to do with the ear - then had a failure of imagination.
german shepherd: i'll change it as soon as i've lead these people from the darm, check to make sure i haven't missed any, and make just one more perimeter patrol to see that no one has tried to take advantage of the situation.
just the an7 that's not yellow
jack russell terrier: i'll just pop it in while i'm bouncing off the walls & the furniture.
oooo not yellow ok just a spice
old english sheep dog: light bulb? i'm sorry, but i don't see a light bulb!
cocker spaniel: why change it? i can still pee on the carpet in the dark.
chihuahua: yo quiero taco bulb. or 'we don't need no stinking light bulb.'
got it - mediocrity preserved! 89 words with all the 7s and greater. i'm easily pleased with myself, what can i say? laila tov, all.
greyhound: it isn't moving. who cares?
100 left Finished the Ts! I think I am doing alright so far. I am toooo tired. good night everyone! 2:22 Am...ugh.
australian shepherd: first, i'll put all the light bulbs in a little circle ......
i'm loving the light bulb jokes!
nite itsonme. got to go too bbl
poodle: i'll just blow in the border collie's ear & he'll do it. by the time he finished rewiring the house, my nails will be dry.
yes i have seen those befroe very cute
also - cats do not change light bulbs, people change light bulbs, so the real question is: how long will it be before i can expect some light, some dinner & a massage?
and now i have fulfilled my quota of babble chat typing for the rest of the month - see you all in november :)
cats have slaves dogs have masters

hi Angb
Morning all! Enable comes from the time when we said "Egad!" when we got our latin endings mixed up.
makes you wonder if enable has any active editors keeping it current.
um i might have missed people as i have been involved in this puzzle
hi sue!
Ywis, Sue, ywis!
consider your greetings up to date then infernal!
Hi Fran! You are so right, sprite!
my absofreakinglutely favo word of babble, ywis :D
I love the thought that people would say 'areae' instead of 'areas'.
I kinda like it, that enable. It never stops to amaze me, which is one definite pre. And I get the chance to feel superior to a dictionary, if nothing else ;)
There is that, sprite!
Morning all Talking old fashioned - lovely old word for long dress -g4/10
yeah, nice one :) Hi FMitch!
Makes you think of long evening gloves, doesn't it FMitch?
Morning sprite and SueM. I still ahve a couple of pairs of those lovely gloves.
wearing those makes me feel beautiful :)
What was it they used to say? 'As the night get longer, so do her gloves?'
lol I have no idea but that sounds interesting.
hehe, nice :)
Fireworks! Can I clue something before I split?
Good morning all - and congratulations sprite!

Is the grid favourable today?
Kinda, Haz. Lots of nice words. A few odd ones. I like the vowel-biggies today.

I'm not even up to looking for the long ones yet, heh.
aww
It doesn't mean that pit bulls aren't viscious though.
her, that's a pretty funny image. It's always the little tiny dogs who have no idea how small they are
I think that small dogs have like short man syndrome
i have never liked those yappy little things, i was just refering to an earlier conversation
pit bulls ar enot visous but are certainly owned by enough thugs you are not good. Any dog can be agressive. Pits have strenght and a high prey drive and pack instiinct
forgive my typing
taz...i have a so7
rolin not me
tazz i have been attacked twice by small yappy things and slobbed on by 'vicous' bruts
but i would love alcue

There speaks a girl who loves her work....

There is an is which is a plural of a 7
I've never had any problems with mine, ursh - the vets reckon that they're the two easiest dogs to treat in the practice.
clue for the an7 then?
yes named after the gloves drop the r at the end
ya beat me toi it ornith..lol
...nicole smith follow bywhat you take to get a grade but drop last letter
Who is nicole smith?
Amy?
the blond married the old billionaire here son just died,
no common a name
angb, her first name starts with An...
A nicer example of the name would be of the governess in the King and I.
sorry haz i am just an uncultured american
that can't be the an7 with an an8 plural though...
well you are oin good hands nnow gnite all
night taz
See yah taz
night taz!
Night, taz.
Good night taz.
Now the is 7 - like the radiation measure but drop the last consonant and make it a sound.
See you taz
oh, THAT's the gloves one. I was confused :P
Got it, Angb, thanks.
there's a second an7, a natural yellow dye used in butter
back forgot to tell u that the other an just change the last 2 letters ..ny awards
me too ornith! the lightbulb just went off.
is7 - radioactive Mr Blair, that's all we would need.
good morning all!
lol haz...he seems to be spreading poison in some quarters
hiya jelly
Amy!
Ha ha Haz
ok..im still lost with the gloves clue...is it for a an7 pl. to 8?
I think I must be missing the joke, haz. probably a Britishism. is that for the same is7?
hey mrs way!
rolin, the glove clue is is7 and is8
Yes - just a play on the radiation measure clue and Mr Blair's name.
The abbreviation for Tony is to 4/4, Ornith.
ahh, that explains it.
Hey jellytots hows it going
ooooh...ok..got that then
its goin good, mars
Jelly... how many have you got?
2!
how bout u?
Got to go.. I've got work to do.
now 3, bt i only started!
some work that is!
how are you, mars
fine how are you,jellytots
So there is an is8, anyone know what the other 8 is or have I missed it in the log already?
i think i missed it too fmitch
I don't know, FMitch - haven't found it yet and haven't got the list up yet.
argh, I hate it when I miss a word that I should have seen immediately. I only use it all the time at work. durr.
yes theres an is8
the plural of is 7
its the radioactive blar clue
blair...sorry
do you know what the other 8 starts with rolin?
Thats the one I've got thanks rolin.
no..sorry...
thanks
Im not on the list yet either but am rapidly slowing down, made it to 91 so far.
ne1 got any clues, im stuck
me too mitch...and i have a pile of marking that needs to get done..i wanna get to 100 before i stop
does everyone have ta7/28? i guess since we have most pale we should have most brown
jelly, there's a few clues in the log for long ones only a little way back
The best advice is to look for four letter words initially. There are some just looking at you on the grid.
fran...thats the ta7...
thanks 4 d help!
yup the magic 100, something satisfying about making it that far rolin.
oh..sorry...*slaps head*...i didnt skleep well..
Me too FMitch
I'm at 92 myself... and slowed down too. 100 is definitely one of the good numbers, though at least I'm more than halfway
although the kitty snuggling in my lap isn't helping. I keep stopping to go AWWWW!
Morning everyone!
Hi Biltong
hi biltong
hi biltong!
does anyone have that o in the upper left corner?
c ye all later!
I keep trying to see oxen
ornith, mr preminger
It's ot4/4 - a german gentleman's name. Think Bismark.
or, eight in italian i think
thanks haz
Bye,jellytots
amazing what is and isn't in the dictionary
Haz, Spangle looks very perky today :)
She may look perky in the picture, but she is actually snoring loudly beside me!
At the risk of repeating myself, she is gorgeous!
Oh, I know. I tell her so every day!
hi again :) Hobbit is snoring beside me too!
Ah ha! ot8/50 is the missing 8.
ooh, clue mitch?
hi ata!
We go a-looking.....
hi Ata!! you never responded to my email, you know
Hi Atalante.
and yeah, I have a sleeping kitty in my lap too
mitch from which o?
hi ata i see that your back and have worn the dog out
I will! I will! I was sorting out my email this morning ... I have about 10 I have to reply to and I have no time cos I have big deadlines and friends turning up in 3 days and I will reply, honestly! I will I will!
no rush! just wanted to make sure you hadn't forgotten or not gotten it
I have! I just WISH there were 48 hours in a day at the moment ...
Its the instrument used to examine your ear. Starts with the 1st o in the 4th row and uses the sc5/14
Thanks FMitch - got it.
thanks mitch, didn't have that sc either
ty, FMitch.
yay, 100 words, I think it's bedtime
thanks fmitch!
night ornith!
Thanx for that FMitch
night all
bye Ornith
i'm missing a 7, i have an7 x 2, is7, so7, ta7, to7 and wa7 x 2, can someone tell me what i'm missing?
ha..thats my 100 thx mitch...im off to mark some papers..................and this makes me happy???...im a sick woman...
later rolin!
Glad to help.
I'm missing the same 7 as you FranMag!
at least i'm in good company!
Im missing one of the a's and the mystery 7.
fmitch, the an's are the same up to the last two letters.
Do you have the an7/28 - variation of the spelling of the an6/18 - the tree (is it the lipstick one)
one is the natural dye, lipstick plant that has lots and lots of different names.
i grew up calling it achiote
Gosh the lipstick tree hasn't bee in the grid for months, many thanks.
the other an7 is an** from the king and i + ***s of the d'ubervilles (sp?)
But that means we are all missing the same 7. Do we torture ourselves further or will someone sneak a peek at the list?
which i guess you have already! :-)
Final 7 is te7/28 strange looking word look like "to try out a song" sort of :)
No need to sneak that peek, then!
Thanks FMitch - it's an Italian coin, apparently.
great clue fmitch!
great! wasn't sure if that clue would work.
thanks!
Oh, you know the way our minds work - try out a song was perfect!
Okay - time for a break, the remaining words will have my attention once I've got the house into some sort of shape. Back later!
later haz!
Bye Haz see you later
i'll be back later also, hubby wants the computer
Later Fran :)

Its nearly 11am here!
almost 6 am here
hi everyone, nearly 8pm here
Isnt it great to talk to people around the world at the mere touch of a button?
it is spanner
indeed it is
I still get a kick from it!!
good morning flosey, what time is it in England? It is 6:am here. Hi Andree. I love talking to people from all over.!
west coast canada hodag, its 6:am - Pacific time
UK 11am
at least you are all in today, when I babble in the mornings everyone else is still in the day before!!!
LOL its the time warp thing
amazing, its is breakfast, dinner, and supper time all at the same time on the same planet!
interesting, I play bridge occasionally with couple of australians
Same here Andree - Another hour and it will be Tuesday --- get confused with the icons
Im not bright enough to play bridge. I cant get my head round it
New Zealand is a couple of hours in front of Australia even.
changing mine would confuse me so I leave it alone
3 hours angb, daylight saving soon anit will change to 2? 4? now I am confused
Sometimes I do - but I have learnt about really different things by trying to figure out some of the icon themes LOL
I am none too bright either but I love bridge
42 left, might get list soon, have come to a standstill
I have only got 45 words and they are nearly all 4 letters- told you I was none too bright!
where do you live in NZ angb, we lived in Auckland for 3 years in 1970

Hi jonny

hi ursh
Hi ursh - I got there and then got the list
hi ursh
Haven
Haven't found one yet ...
HI ya ursh

Hello Babblers - just grabbing a few words before going to the hospital to see Mom
Hi kae
Hope your mum's OK
hi faerie - how is your mom
Hi Ursh - she is not good. Thank you for asking.
That's me for the nite - Fireworks.
*~*~*Congrats Angb*~*~*
yay Angb!!!
Hi Pida :)
Can I help anyone before I go to bed?
congrats angb!!!!
Hi faerie
hey everyone
Angb is the X used at all
Hi Kthdsn
Hey kth
Hi kthdsn
angb - please clue the 2 w7 - am going round and round and will probably kick myself
Use the three letter word for pale and add endings - the most - and the state of
The last letter of the word for pale though is repeated - makes them a bit wierd
ty angb - never would have got that
thanks Angb
You're welcome. But I learnt a lesson today - there are too many double up letters in the grid. A word starts one place, and then you can build on the same word from another place. If you think the word is there "have a go".
Thanks Angb finally got them myself
This is why we spend so much babbling. We are learning. : )
Anyway - after totally confusing you I'll go to bed. See ya tomorrow for the next grid - let DrG be kind.
bye Angb. Sweet dreams.
Good Night Angb Sweet Dreams :)
good morning everyone
Good Morning Eva :)
We have yet another challenging grid today
hi faeri
faerie
hello everyone

it's an old term for a mean drunk, IIRC
It means a drunkard, specifically but is probably generally used as an insult now.
never heard that term -- any idea if its more traditionally british?
Possibly - I wonder if Shakespeare used it?
like my Grampa used to call people... potlickers! HA HO
Yes, it appears in Twelth Night.

cheer up, sleepy jean, oh what can it mean to a daydream believer and a homecoming queen?
can it mean that you're in high school?
lol oh the monkees how nostalgic
haha, totally missed that. before my time.
thats it vedaman, thanks so much
you're very welcome.
yes lol thanx vedaman
Hey, the Monkees shouldn't be before anyone's time. Isn't that what Nick at Nite is for?
mostly I never had cable
didn't you just love when davy jones was on the brady bunch? thank you girl...
how ironic is this im at work eating banana fritters and playing babble rofl
Glad to see you're working hard jean.
yes thats me a hard worker lol
Early crossover fun, hurshy!
she works hard for the money so you better treat her right
You're in a musical mood today hurshy.
ah, i'm often in a musical mood
is the ot 8 an extension of the 6?
musical mood usually = good mood
ot8 is a tool an eye doctor uses
if i am especially happy i sing o sooooole mio...
thanks hursh
anybody here buy large items on ebay before? i want to know how long is reasonable for them to take to arrive, how long you should wait before you email the seller to ask what is going on.
Largest I've bought was a hockey jersey. Sorry, no help.
Whatcha waiting for?
pinball machines
cool, how are they being shipped?
machines plural? are they arcade stands?
i dunno, that is why i don't know how long they would take. i assume just whatever is cheapest. does that mean it could be 6-8 weeks?
oh hurshy pinball is as addictive as babble you know lol
it's only been 2.
didn't the seller mention in the info what/how the shipping would be?
i'm making a game room in my basement :) my pool/ping pong/air hockey table is arriving tomorrow, and i already have my darts and foosball
OT 6/18 please
hurshy, when may I move in?
the seller did not mention what the shipping would be, only the shipping cost (which was not a lot for a large item, hence my assumption that it is cheapest shipping possible).
lol msree
I could sleep under the foosball table. : )
ot + proboscis change n to i
hi all :) why don't you email her and ask how long she expects it to be?
hey hurshy...we have a pinball machine...Seawitch...and beware!! Only the original person who worked on it will do any repairs for you. There are only a couple of places nationally who actually do repairs. I know that three that we have gone through only repair the ones that they have bought themselves and restored. Make sure you get that information from the seller.
thanks hursy, down to the last 13 and Im struggling!
i don't want to be pushy...
thats not pushy, its asking a question that she hasn't provided the info for
green... i've ordered 3, one of which has never been used... so i'm figuring i should get at least one that works. :)
TA 7/28?
last pe 5/12?
how much were they?
girlfriday, ta7/28 person who's spent the most time in the sun
well i did buy it now on one of them to make sure i got one, and got it for 102 including shipping. then i bid on 2 others and together i spent 121 on them including shipping (nobody bid on one of them so i got it really cheap)
good prices hurshy
thanks, Msree.
yw
wow, I'd think they'd be a lot more expensive than that.
pe5 is household animal + ** be or not ** be
they are not the kind that have a whole big box, if you know what i mean... they are as big as those but they stand on four legs instead of a whole big base, so they are cheaper than the other sort.
wow...we paid 800 for ours...and 1200 for the one before it...Ours worked too, but they are very sensitive machines. We ended up getting a book on pinball repair so we could fix little things
that's more what I'd expect them to cost.
need the one after that vedaman
yours were probably the real box kind though green
i didn't want to spend that much so i went with the ones with legs instead.
that is the last 5/12. there's a 4 after it, seating in a church
both of ours had four legs, but are really big. No big bos base though. The first one was a classic from the 60's...an old baseball one that had no electronic gizmos whatsoever...and Seawitch is one from the early 80's which has electronic sound, but no multiball
sorry guess its the one before it then
hurshey - I just saw your clue about a tool an eye doctor uses . . . ot8/50 is what an EAR doctor uses
oh right, sorry jean, wasn't thinking.
the one before it is an annoyance or pe**, plural
the ones i got are batman (that's the one that's new never been used), a bike racing one, and a horse racing one.
:-D
ty vedaman
You will have a blast with them...I wasn
I was not thrilled at first at buying them, but I quickly became addicted
and whether or not an ear doctor uses the ot8, the clue let me find it pretty quickly.
yw majmom
we live at a private boys' school, so i expect there to be lots of fun had all around :)
afternoon All!
Oh...you will have a blast...it's that taking turns part that gets tough...
Hi Charm.
TO 7/32..have all the others around it, should be obvious, but Im missing it!
well that is where the pool, foosball, darts, poker, and board games come in :)
hi charm
or ping pong or air hockey
to7/32 preceding to4/4 + something you cook in
to 7/32 - throw away to4/4 a tea***

Congrats, Deeha
congrats deeha

I gave up ironing for retirement
congrats, deeha
sepot
an6/18 please someone
Dont you hate those people that iron teatowels and socks and even husbands underwear!!!! I dont hold with that!!
my mother in law told me she used to iron diapers and shoe strings ...
if hubby wants clothes ironed, he does it himelf. Of course, he had to go out and buy a $150 iron to do it....
she also told me that she boiled the frying pan before she cooked bacon for her boys.
hello 1234judy!
hi all!
hi sidmama
hi, stid.
hi stid
hi Stid!
hi stidmama
my aunt used to starch and then iron her bras (for the obvious reason) -- that was in the 1950s though...
hello stidmama:)
how's the grid today? worth trying?
an6/18 = drop one of the 'n's from one of the an7/28s....
Where did the previous generation find the time - they had so few labour saving devices as it was?
Hiya Stid!
Well, they weren't playing Babble, for one thing...
lol can you imagine wearing an starched bra - you'd scratch all day!!¬
Deeha - they also didn't have television or internet. Two of the biggest time-wasters ever!
don't have either of those Charm
Babbling is not a time waster! Look at all the new words we are learning. LOL
when I got married - 43 years ago. I told my husband I didn't want jewlery - I'd take anything that had a plug on it to make my work easier
{{{Judy}}} how did this morning go? I reluctantly rolled out of bed at 6 am (two hours before my normal)...
I didnot say
thanks for the hugs
didn't say "babbling" is time waster -- internet. Two different animals.
an7/28 = an + n5 (guy's name) an7/28 = an + *** Turner + ** and fro.
Hey, Stid. I overslept!!!!!!!! Better give up the late nite Babbling!
Okay, only three left...OT 6/18, SE 5/18 and ST 5/10...
(that *** Turner is NOT Ike!)
oh no, anything that stretches our mind is not a waste of time.
LOL CJ!
all we had when I was younger was Readers Digest 'Improve youir word power' At least I believed their words some of these......!!

As to television - Grey's Anatomy is not a waste of time either. hehehe
come on Friday!
LOVE Grey's Anatomy fellow Judy
Well this wont get the ironing done goodnight all be back tomorrow
Need clues, please. so stuck.
I like the "word power" in Reader's Digest. The articles on the other hand (insert gagging sound here) so often cloying...

cu Deeha
I have a Grey's story...
OT 6/18
thanks Charm
SE 5/18 and ST 5/10

ot6/18 = ot + grand****
woo-hoo! ten words already!
I will try to shorten it. We were without television all summer, I told my Mr. that I could live without it as long as I had my computer and books; but he HAD to get something going before the new Grey's Anatomy began.
you're just a dynamo Stid!!!
kept trying to make those word with only one n
se5/18 = se + pale & ***
se 5/18 - add a vowel between the two consonsants of the se 4/8 below it
pabtre, now you know!
ty charm
*pabtrek. sorry
se + a heavy weight measurement
Okay, thanks so teveryone just need the ST 5/10.

He pays you?
well, I would drive him anyway (filial piety and all) but he goes ahead and gives me the money he would have paid the airporter.
1st so5/10 please?
nm, it's a pl. sigh
belated congrats Friday!
I have an so 5/10 that is plural of the 4/4 before it (but not using the list yet)
hi niamh
last word: sw5/18 after used a broom. clue pretty please?
vedaman: "fainted"?
sw5/18 = an old fashioned faint.
actually should be present tense or noun
(onto a chaise longue)
thanks!
*wishing mightily she had a chaise longue*
(or into the hero's waiting arms)
feeling faint, stid?
*waving smelling salts around* hi everyone - got here just in time!

mmmm coffee!
mmm, i could use some coffee. brb...
I mean until the cupcakes are gone . .
is there chocolate on the cupcakes?
sounds like it's time for coffee brb
Let's see what else I can type in the log . . . .How about the 3rd co5/14?
co5/14 = a grove of trees.
swap the final 2 letters from the preceding co5/14.
thanx charm!
smaller, I could drizzle a bit of white chocolate (or maybe stir some white chocolate chunks into the batter)
ooo charm, yes please drizzle. or ladle. yes ladle.
back with coffee *passes cups of coffee to fellow Babblers*
ciociajudy, big cups? chocolate cups?

wo4/9 w + special o** (military secret stuff)
*cries at cruelty of physics*
Disparaging slang term . .

thank you!
ooooh..ty charms...nasty word...
ok. really am gone. bye.
Byee charm!
bye charm!
jax i'm looking for that same one. bye again charm
got an interesting show on at the mo.... does the idea of free speech include the right to offend religious groups..
Just got the na5 tho!
WA7/44? I have the most WA4/8.
an7 - change last 2 letters
bye Charm
ooh jax - an7 - first 5 letters are the same as the one before, ends in ** and fro.
good clue fiz thx
minski...take the first part of the 7 and turn it into a state ..like lthe loch monster
Just got it ta v much
interesting question rolin. i would have to say yes - if you can't offend a religious group, then wouldn't that in effect be the group imposing its belief system - if only in terms of speech - on everyone else?
Hi everyone. About to call it a night. Just 20 words to go, but first, I have the is8, but does anyone have a clue to the other 8?
Do you mean offending a religion's tenets or portraying practioners of that religion in an offensive manner?
ishult..it ensds with sc5/14
in either case, tor, i would think free speech would trump. unless direct violence is threatened....
tor...they are talking about things like the cartoons of the prophet...and a film that had the koran being shown on a womans naked body
torgone it seems you can only offend Christians without fear of comeback
the 3rd to 4/4 and the 2nd to 5/12?
as well as critising the practices of religions etc
ok the fact the ps4/5 is a word is just wrong.
thats not true jfb...what about the woman who was sent home for the wearing of the cross?
maj..3rd to4/4...what you do on a trunmpet
oops, sorry for the levity, wasn't reading the dialogue. pardon my intrusion.
There was a mockup of the Last Supper shown in newspapers here with the England football teams heads superimposed on it. And the cross was deemed to be jewellery.
i agree smaller. not really a word in the traditional sense...
aahh...but be honest jfb...football...IS a religion here
lol rolin!
That is true - but can you imagine the uproar if a tuban was called a fashion statement?
Should be turban of coursre
back
welcome back stidmama
otoes
but a turban has never been an option...a cross IS an option....millions of christians practice their religion without outward display...sikhs have no choice
i think the argument of cross vs. turban was that wearing the turban is core to practicing the religion, whereas wearing a cross on the outside of your clothes is certainly a choice. no one said she had to take it off, just tuck it in.
exactly..fiz... the equivalent would be expecting sikhs to wear hoodies...
but for many christians, wearing a cross is not optional... depends on the sect, as with so many religions not all variants believe or practice identical things.
but is the croos reuired to be worn on display?
*giggling at mental picture while trying not to be offensive*
For some, yes Rolin -- esp. members of religious orders.
and this woman stid...was just an ordinary christian..not a membner of a sect...she was simply taking a stand...
I think some religions need to work on not being offended so much . .
i suppose if one was flying on Nun Airlines one might expect the flight attendants to wear a cross on the outside of their uniform, but I doubt that was the case for this woman...
well for a nun...or an employee of the church...thats different from a airline desk operative
Hey Jinxie, you just might see fireworks this week. Lion is driving me crazy.
well tor... one of the speakers said this debate is about the traditionalists and the modernists
*disclaimer: TheFiz grew up in a completely secular household and means no offense to anyone. Please blame any missteps on her ignorance rather than bad intentions. Thank you.
true, stid, a line is difficult to draw. what about orthodox jews wearing tzittzit, the fringed garment under the shirt, or muslim school girls wearing scarves to school...
Hey Jinxie! What's up??
It would, for me, depend on what most people in that person's sect wore. Just as not all muslim women wear hijab, so not all Christians wear crosses and not all Jewish men wear the hat...
but many do! and their religious rights need to be respected.
mab...the jews are just as victimised about wearing the tzittzit...as the girls for wearing hijab
but an orthodox jew is like a sikh...the man must wear his head covered..
{{{{Stid}}}}
So I think a "one size fits all" rule doesn't work. Actually, things like that rarely work...
thanks for the wa clue rolin. had to get baby up from nap so I didn't get it until just now. forgot about the double consonent letter.
right. and both are following religious dictates.
ii dont think that the koran specifies that women wear their head covered...it speaks of modesty...and this has been interpretted to wear the head/body covered
it seems like the challenge is when one tries to practice a traditional religion in a modern world. It
but dictates that are peculiar to their variety of their religion, not a basic item to all adherents of the religion/
good point, Fiz!
could someone give "actual" clues for the an 7's. I'm confused
it's so difficult to balance what seem like perfectly reasonable "dress codes" on first blush while still allowing others whose religious requirements are infringed upon by such codes.
Not much. Fireworks today?
an7 an+na5/10
not yet...am up at weird hours here so can play a lot...I turned my sisters onto this game. Look for Liz E. Bear! What up with Lion??
there are two an 7/28... both start w/four letter woman's name + cross letter. one ends in "spanish" for "is" and the other ends in opposite of "from"
Thats the crux of the matter Fiz. If a Christian lives in a predominantly Muslim country they adjust to suit but it doesn't seem to work the other way round
Hi all. I'm sorry to interrupt this very interesting discussion. I need help with the to 7 that is after a gentle throw
and the lines are difficult to draw. it's clear to me that a sikh man who wants to work at disneyland should be able to have a full beard. but what about an orthodox jewish woman who wants to be a waitress at hooters? besides the questionable career choice....
The question you pose, rolin, is very complex. Freedom of speech is not to my knowledge subject to any international law; rather; the confines of free speech are set by each country. Free speech then bumps up against freedom of religion-- again governed by the law of each country. In my mind, the issue is whether exercizing a freedom that causes a vehement reaction is prudent. If a country is going to retaliate to the point of a war.... the risks are high.
But aren't the laws in most muslim nations very clear as to what people may and may not wear (I know that in Saudi Arabia people may not even own a Christian Bible even when just traveling through...); most Christian nations don't have such repressive laws.
I saw that you added some words at a weird hour. Is that because you are up with the boy, or are you partying with Liz E bear and JJ ?
What you describe as repressive, is from your point of view..... the muslims, of course, may not agree.
hi musicmom. I don't have a to 7 yet
an7 - both start with a woman's name (an4/4 and the king). first ends with cross letter + paranormal powers **p; second ends with double cross and vowel.
Just typical Lion antics. Nothing worth mentioning.
jfb...that points to christianity being more flexible in the modern society...tho this is becoming less and less as times go on
TO 4/4 + what you boil water in ***s and pans
neither, I'm not used to the time change yet...liz e has got jj working hard! He is going to be wishing for a 9 to 5! we stayed up late watching horror movies last night...fun!
what a great word! thanks judy
According to N.T. Scripture Paul points out that we should not offend just to offend Romans 14 and 15 cover this. I need to look up the actual reference but he talks about becoming all things to all people so as not to offend.
welcome fiz. musicmom, did you get it?
Judy thanks! did you get that, musicmom?
He also at other times talks about not binding restrictions on others just because of your conscience.
thanx thef
Thansk Judy! I did
welcome
but as we know, that being all things to all people doesn't work... somebody is going to be offended no matter what.
oh, gotcha! how's h3 and luis and hen?
hi bichon
standards and laws will vary and one must adjust as necessary. the real question in the west is how tolerant are we?
hello everyone
hello kalea!
hello kalea
hiya stid
hiya jean
Right stid. It is a fine balance to not compromising your own conscience in order to please others and not forcing your own precepts on them.
hi kalea
hiya Judy
Some religions will be flexible when one has other pressing requirements - i'm sure that muslim surgeons don't drop to their knees and pray in the middle of a surgery, nor do orthodox jewish ones walk out of the operating room at sunset on friday. the challenge is deciding what the deciding factor is when freedom of speech and freedom of religion are in direct conflict.
yes musicmom -- exactly
perhaps president bush, in his capacity at The Decider, can help....
Lol fiz!
Hi everyone!
I agree TheFiz - However this is the problem the Jews were facing in Christ's time. They had perverted the law of Moses until it was virtually impossible to follow. Matthew 20-24 deals with this quite a bit
<eyeroll>The FIz
hi bittong!
hello Biltong
good evening biltong
christians, long a majority, have had little need to identify themselves outwardly as christians. now that muslims, hindus, and other live among us, some christians feel a need to assert themselves.
HI BILTONG
sorry about the caps *slinks to corner*
lol
I think a good way of looking at it was set by a court judgement in the US (not a lawyer, can't cite case law): if a person is capable of performing a job while wearing or practicing their religion, then they need to be allowed to do the job. If their religious garb presents a hazard to themselves or others (as long things dangling off a body can when working around machinery) then they need to find another job.
ok MM, i believe you but you've lost me. see disclaimer about secular upbringing posted earlier.
awwwwwww Judy *tosses her a chocolate kiss*
you were just excited and happy, Judy, quite understandable!
hi all, heavy discussion today!
Many in extreme Christian Fundamentalism have done the same with the Law of Christ today. I speak from personal experience in that I thought I was worshipping in a Bible Centered place that was God driven. After too many years and lots of personal Bible study I discovered they were binding things on me that God (Christ) absolutely did not bind
hiya Tea
Hi TeaNCrackers.
hello teaNCrackers
TheFiz. If you ever want more info - you can email me off line.
hi Tea! what is the theme that brings Edward into our midst?
stid, a similar rule exists for people with disabilities. if you can make reasonable accomodations to do a job, you need to - but that doesn't mean that paraplegeics are being discriminated against when they are turned down for jobs as bike messengers.
needless to say I'm no longer there.
lol, Ciocia. No problem
Good point TheFiz
tim burton characters today and I like Edward
Exactly, Fiz! I knew you would know what I meant! :-)
Has anyone a clue for go6/24 pls?
Many in the world have never known free speech. The freedoms we speak of are now global. Voltaire said, "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." In today's world, we may have to, whether we want to or not, if attacked.
holy war-- the ultimate oxymoron...
amen libarebel
good point purloined. I agree with Voltaire.
ty, MM
Okay... hm. Have only seen one Tim Burton movie that I know of. Don't think any Corpse Bride characters appeal!
musicmom........my husband is a priest, and has been denounced by the town's ministers for preaching that there is no one way to God, and has been known to embrace guests of all religions as true and faithful
Stid - you don't know what you are missing. Watch T.B. movies!
I never realized (in my puny mind) that Edward Scissorhands was a Tim Burton film, until I went to look for the icon yesterday.
Jax 6/24 - "received"
That is exactly what I'm talking about Kalea. The place where i was worshipping taught (though they would deny this to the death) that they were the only ones going to heaven.
hello you silly peoples
All I could think of was Nightmare before Christmas - was I ever missing some!
*gasp* Kalea, you mean he practices religious tolerance in a formal religious setting! that's unheard of!
gotten
hiya evan
All the peeps are good. I missed your last update re: the weird hours. Damn work!
several of us left and have started working in our living rooms. They claim us to have fallen away and as unfaithful.
hi evanonut
OOps wrong box!!!!
Weird considering the earliest Christians always met in each other's homes.
Kalea, your husband is brave, and I salute him. Standing up for values like that can be so hard...
lol Fiz......thats what THEY said
That's it Jax!!
it wasn't me this time
kalea, your husband is a treasure. his message should be voiced more often.
hiya nut!
Okay. I am missing one word an6/18
good to hear...tell everyone I said hi...i saw you were on Saturday when I showed Sara and Liz...hope I'm not taking all the easy words!
good for you, Musicmom! Following your heart is important. Looking at the Reformation, very similar things were going on. House churches, I mean.
kalea, reading back, i salute you and your husband
hi nut :))))
an + t****o (body art)
(((((MAB)))))
yes, i am very proud of him, and our congregation is completely behind him, too
NUTTY!
Bravo for him Kalea. Christ did say he was the way truth and life. However, if we are hateful in our approach to that instruction who are we going to convince?
FIZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZEEEEEEY
musicmom -- do you need the variant of the food flavoring? only one double cons...
hi nut!
Good afternoon all
such a solemn couple, nut
hi hodag!
hi, hodag
hello hodag love the cat
i've been in constant battle with my aunt, i say i'm not catholic and she says i am whether i want to be or not.
hello hodag
Thank you stid!! That was it. Fireworks everyone!
congrats musicmom
ROFL nut! families are so funny!
wahoo musicmom!!!!!
wooooooooohooooooooooo musicmom
YAY musicmom!
nut-- my sister tells me that as well!
YAY musicmom!!!
my grandmother says the same thing about being jewish, nut.
How is the grid today?
45 to go vonnie....still sooo much time. Fireworks are yours.
i say i'm freelance christian
maybe we have to request to b excommunicated
Well, I hate to break the news to you-all, but whether you like it or not... you are all HUMAN!
I think kalea has said it all. Where else could you have a discussion like this and enjoy a game and chat with people from all over the world all at the same time?
not bad, hodag. I have 44 to go with about 1/5 hr play/chat time
One of my good friends calls herself a reformed Catholic. She grew up in the Catholic church, attended parochial schools and was confirmed, married and had her daughter baptized (only to appease her mother) but doesn't practice.
8 left...yeah!
my mother wanted to name me christopher if i was a boy and my grandma - who probably hasn't been to temple since my youngest uncle had his bar mitzvah - put her foot down and said, "Jewish babies are NOT named Christopher!"
lol nut. that's great.
hope so, i've never seen fireworks...i'm signing off for now...have a great day jinxie2!!
I LOVE that evanonut! Can I borrow it?
anyone have any suggestions for the IS words?
go for it mm
good bye Jinxie
Happy babbling tout le monde - good programme on tv I want to see.
when I was in sunday school the nun told me that I should convert my protestant mother so she could go to heaven...
TheFiz --- I think a Jewish boy could be Christopher most people don't even realize the origin of the name.
IS words are a fancy type of glove...
later JFB!
it didn't go over well w/ mom
is is a chemical word.......is + circle + to4
i think a jewish boy should get to be whatever his parents want to name him
she called up siste mary edmond & reamed her royally...
UGH this is what I'm talking about Libarebel. I'm sure the Bible says God is the one who will decide who goes to heaven.
I bet not Lib. I would have too.
well - to give you a little insight into my upbringing - my parents decided against christopher, and i was a girl anyway, and whenever anyone asks what they would have named me if I was a boy they answer, "Morris Boris".
sure -- he could be "doctor" "lawyer" engineer...
really!
i don't recall the bible saying anything about having to be a catholic
by JFB
right, nut
Folks - I would love to stay and chat (really love to stay and chat) but it is time to pick up Sarah from band and get a few groceries. See you soon I hope.
I named my kids "scientist" and "politician" based on their personalities... the older they get, the more it looks like I was right.
not that i'm a thumper, i don't read it nearly enough
later musicmom, have a lovely afternoon!
bye musicmom
bye mm
this discussion started with a question about the right to offend religion.... and has gone full circle ..... from outrage over attacks to attacking ..... very interesting.
my husband was a camp clergyman last summer......one girl came to him in tears, cuz her pentecostal preacher told her that her parents were going to hell for not going to church.......he was so angry over that
heehee, stid!
bye mm.
who is attacking, purloined?
my mom was told she was going to hell by a priest when she was a little girl
i don't think we're attacking religion, purloined - just sharing stories of how it has and hasn't worked for us!
I don't see any attacks here..
however, one of my best friends was a priest...i'm not against them
finished
yay scatty!
attack of the killer tomatoes???
Too many people, of any religion, feel they "know" what their god/s want and that they have the right to impose it on others. ergo, I affiliate with no religion.
YAY scatty!
my borr again colleague once told me i would go to hell for being a jew. we got along very well, and he was just trying to be kind by warning me.
congrats scatty
{{{ren}}} hi!
woooooooohooooooooo scatty
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNIEEEE
the last thing my mom's mom said to me on her deathbed was that she was going to pray for me in heaven so my soul wouldn't burn for eternity. thanks, gram.

I once went to confession & said I hadn't committed any sins & was informed that I had committed the mortal sin of pride
(((stid....nut and all)))))
hi rennio!

lol lib. good point.
after that I made up sins & said at the end that I lied! :D
hey ya mab!!!!
lol lib
ooh liba -- that smarts! I would have followed up with the sin of blasphemy and told the priest where to stick it.
We all have are own and that is the way it should be.
well clearly i need it, nut!
it's snowing here....how about anywhere else???
yo're all set, fiz!
((subtle subject change))
snow? again?
When someone says how upset he/she is over a religious teaching, in my mind it is an attack on the treaching; you don't have to agree.
how 'bout that world series?
LOL, stid-- I was only 8
lol evan.....it's gorgeous, here
it has been snowing off and on here all day
ok - back to work wanted to say hey!!!! it's about 60 here - beautiful surf day

scuse me stid? - i believe fiz declared i need mental help
in any event, i just meant that western PA is the worlds largest crowded room and everyone knows everyone. and that perhaps emusing could help you deal with your anger issues.
Hi, Babblyonians...How are you?
no, nut, fiz was demonstrating that SHE needs mental help! lol
hi jai!
co6...............fabric that comes from a boll
hi jai!
sorry, wasn't paying attention, no, there is a garden but not big, the builders believe in squeezing as many hoses in an acre as possible, saying that i hopefully will have a green infront of the house, at the mo there is alot of mud and machinery and at the back a walled garden, about 40 foot bt 30, small but better than nothing
es5.........es + army bed

ummmm........if it's rabid, how is it still alive?
will you have room for all your offspring to visit, scatty? My mother in law (now 70) insists on at least three bedrooms in her house -- and my father in law insists on yard... though neither particularly like yard or housework! LOL
it's just this sort of behavior i'm referring to nut. I say, Nice Squirrel, you say, Thanks, he's crazy and rabid and flying at your face.

I need the es 5/12 please
the sp 5/20 I have is a "plural" of the previous 4/9
ot+ third vowel+ fourth vowel+" **e what I mean?"
you got it. my schedule may have opened up - we were going to do a family portrait in honor of my grandma's 90th b-day, but she's in the hospital with a broken vertebra and will be in rehab right through the holiday. and if they keep her on the level of pain pills she's on now, she'll need 2 kinds of rehab.
thanks Jai!
I need the se 4/4 after the pl month
np-o!
oh no Fiz! not your grandma too! FaerieKae's mother has a similar problem.
oh my! i hope she'll be better!

ES please
i wouldn't mind some of thed ope
its a three bed house, we will have to put our wardrobe in the spare roon with a singe bed, my son will have a double in his room and because our bed is so big, we won't get alot in the room once the bed is in, but all the rooms have sort of fitted wardrobes
the break -- they decided not to operate, last I heard, but it was going to be a long recovery either way
sorryFiz

* note to self...do not meet fiz anywhere near the stairs*
hi buttonman!
oops, sorry, cursor in the wrong place
Hi, Stid
thnx..y'all for the clues....fireworks for me!!!!!
sp 5/20...plural of sp4/9 above it...
in any event 90-y-o bones don't heal that quickly, and she's got a compression fracture in another vertebra, so she's in a lot of pain and can't go to the rehab center yet - plus she's diabetic and whenever she gets stressed her sugar goes all out of whack. i'm thinking that a trip over Veteran's day weekend might be in order...
who has been on morphine
well, at least you should have room for all your clothes, scatty! It sounds really nice, and I am happy for you. How long before you know if you get it for sure?
yay gramma!
Hi Buttonman

i was more annoyed that there was no way we could afford to buy 100% of a house with bog standard wages, a three bedroom is now over £210.000 to buy in this area and there was no was we could get a morgage for that kind of money
thanks, PERT
*jaw drops in astonisment* scatty -- that is a HUGE amount of money! wow...
yikes, Scatty
ot + 3rd vowel + to look at something...ot8/50
yes nut - and remember that my genes are twice diluted.....she's a real firecracker. and NOT happy about being in the hospital/feeling her age/the youth of the drs and nurses....
Okay...I am done cluing...got to go...hope I helped everybody out...see ya tomorrow
bye geeny
bye greengeeny, thanks.
i know, thats why the council have decided that if they didn't start offering people a % of a house they would have to build an awlful lot of houses as no-one could afford a house
thanks so much greeny! see you tomorrow!
i feel bad for her though - she had a pacemaker put in a month ago, and while she recovered they wanted her to use a bed pan. she told me that she wasn't listening to them - there were very few things she could still do on her own and when she couldn't go pee by herself it was time to put her out to pasture (this is a much milder version of what she actually said)
even at 40% of the house it was £86-000 plus we also have to pay £280 every month ent as well as pay the mortgage
my mom told me that she can't get out of bed on her own and they've got her cathederized. poor thing.
so I don't understand how this works: is it more like a long-term lease? *whistling* ent -- is that insurance or tax?
I don't get the clue for the ot 8..could someone make is easier please
poor grandmother, Fiz. hoping she will not be in the hospital too long...
ot8 is used to look into the ear by a doc

I'm in the middle, more towards the East, nut.

I haven't gone to the list yet. I gathered there were to an7's that are similar.

for the second AN 7, double the cross letter and use the round vowel...
phew! i can only take so much excitement in one day
alter fran!
an+letter after m+first vowel+2 crossed letters+4th vowel

s'okay biltong, those are not "intuitive" words for me, either.
there there, nut. I'm not real -- look at my icon! how could a voluptuous woman like me be real? ;-)
cool. I'm not real. Means I have no real problems, real work, real bills . . .
*sniff sniff*, work with one stid...but don't think i'm touching them to see if they're real
At last FIREWORKS. It has been a while since I finished. Does anyone want some help before I go

hello all! I need a clue for both an7 's please..
a few years ago a kid showed up at my door all dressed up in white, white face, etc. w/ a black zigzag from head to toe. I asked him what he was & he told me he'd been run over by a motorycle-- I gave him double treats!
I still craze a bit, but I just try to let that go.
is8
wait
Congrats on quitting mab. It's tough. I haven't had a ciggy since August 1, 1991 (the day of my grandfather's funeral - he died of emphezema). I still want them sometimes.
is + 4 th vowel + music sounds
I love to make the older kids treat me...we make them sing or do womthing stupid for their candy. They have come to expect it and mnow they come prepared

THanks all.
62 words left to find.
is+4th vowel+to5/10
scatty - is called bupropion
both an 7/'s please!
i'm more worried about putting on anymore weight, i have enough probs as it is as i can't move around to exercise, so everything i eat tends to sit, i smoke way too many, it has sneaked up to about 30 a day if i'm honest with myself, but when i gave up in the 90's i put on 3 stone
any clues
mab... we've put out flowers and removed the ashtrays...
or te 7/28 pls
that was meant to say any clues for the te 7/28 pls!!
te+plural letter+to4/4
I don't know what a stone is, but I've gained 20 pounds since quitting and have had weight issues, but would rather diet than the alternative if I kept smoking. Think long term of a long life not short term.
mab, I add my good wishes and congratulations also -- I cannot go in houses where people smoke because my allergies are so severe.
a stone is 12 pounds
I need an 6/18
thanx itsonme i would never have got it!
your welcome!
yeah - thanks for the te7
an6 = an +1st vowel +crossed letter twice + 4th vowel
and scatty -- I urge you to consider your (and your family's) long term health benefits. also, you won't have to wash your windows (car and house) as much!
AHHH! MY TV IS GOING CRAZY!
Thank you scatty!
itsgela -- just read about the costume thing. I agree with the others -- some of the best costumes are not store-bought. You are an intelligent creative person. You can figure out a good costume.
chic an 7 + an - girls name + crossed letter twice + o, or an- girls name + crossed letter + 2nd vowel then plural it
i cleaned my windows the other day, that is WHY i am going to smoke outside in the new house
That costume was actually my first store bought. I usually wear random things, or my aunt makes them.
{{{its}}} I am understanding more and more...
no wonder you didn't like it, its
25 to go!
woo hoo, go Stid!
hi all :)
I have... 65 left. lol
scatty, I quit smoking 12 years ago with the patches. I used to have to take the patch off at night, cause I couldnt sleep with all that nicotine. After six weeks --by now I was on the lower dose patch--I forgot to ut a new one on in the morning. When I realized it in the aftermoon, I decided I had conquered my vice. No backsliding, since the patches then cost $200 for a months supply.
Hi.
hey ata the 4 B of the A are gathered
good for you, inge! sehr gut!
hi atalante!
my friend has always smoked in her kitchen, when i was round there the other day, one of her kids got some chocolate on the light switch, i grabbed a cloth and started to wipe the area and the wall changed colour, as you can imagine, i put the cloth back really fast and pretended not to have done anything
woot!
pe 5/12 after the unwanted critters?
oh scatty! that's a horror story worthy of hallowe'en time!
same four letters plus fourth vowel
inge, i tried the patches but when you suffer from sweats, you usually wake up to find the patch attached to your husbands rear end, and he doesn't smoke
thanks inge!
oh scatty! *trying to scratch out mental image*
But you dont need the patches during the night, Scatty.
20 to go...
I need the 5th pe5/12
really embarrassing at the time, i didn't knoow where to look, but i couldn't help staring at the clean stop on the wall
thanx scatty!
don't you , i thought you wore them all the time
*nudges atalante*
you got my mangled clue then chic
hi hurshy!
hey stid
Since I never smoked while in bed, I couldnt stand the nicotine during the night, and took the patches off when I went to bed
hurshy darling!
he darlings me now after calling me a nerd before...
I love nerds . . .

stidmama, the na 4/4 w/na + vowel plus consonant is the 1st na 4/4.Does the third na 4/4 follow the same pattern? Can I have another clue for the third na4/4?
Diira -- are you using Lickety's list to help you know where words fall in relation to the others?
I've been learning the special babble language as I go... and its a whole new language lol
I have 122 words left
Na 4/4 abbreviation for Sodium and latin for a bone.
hm... didn't even know it existed...
Min, the first and third NA 4/4 follow same pattern, the first is Indian bread
Congratulations svso on your fireworks!Hooray for U
AT the bottom of this page are a whole bunch of links, Diira, Lickety's list is really helpful. Another resource is Angelsong's page -- but Lickety's would be a good start for tonight.
go skeever go!
And speaking of Indian bread Happy Diwalli to anyone who celebrates.
oh yes! the festival of lights! *wishing I could see a real Diwali celebration*
Well if no one needs any clues, I think I will sign off.

ty min will use your advice the next time
stid.....i just got back from a writers' group mtg, and as usual, i am pumped and motivated...........lol
Just in case anybody is interested,I use the reverse dictionary all the time w/the clues. It is very helpful.
I am tired, but I was up early today and didn't get my usual nap... LOL I sound like a toddler, but I really depend on naps!
I use reverse dictionary sometimes, too -- it is helpful!
ty for the point in the right direction of Lickety's tip that will be very helpful when I don't feel the clock ticking away lol...
what do you write, kalea?
yw diira, now -- how may we help?
i like naps too..........just never get around to them..........lol
Does anyone have a clue for the no 5/10 word please

the second no 5/10 is a plural
no5/10--hangman's no***
neat, kalea! I like to write, but am not brave enough to take my work public. Babble story excluded...
reverse dictionary -- type in a definition and it spits out the word
i think you should give it a shot, stid............from what i've seen, you got the talent
Reverse dictionary is where you type in a definition and it provides you with a list of words.I love it! It is in my favorites. Do you want the link msilver620?
*blushes happily* thanks kalea, will consider it. There's a group that meets at the local Barnes and Noble sometimes....
finally figured out my first of the na's duh...
Does anyone have a clue for the ne 6/30 word please
rofl diira -- that one gets me every time -- and it's one of my favorites when I go to the local indian restaurant!
ne 6/30: Sir Isaac Ne****
ne6/30-- sir isaac ne*****

gmta, stid )
2 words left and I still haven't found is7 and is8
ooh liba, no wonder I felt crowded!
try going at least once, stid..........i get a lot out of it, even if nothing more than support sometimes............a point of trivia: Tolkein and C.S. Lewis were in the same writers' group
is 7 is a chemical word: is + vowel + to 4/4; then plural
is7...is + circle + to4
I remember hearing that - -weren't they both dons at the same university in England? (not even sure what a don is...)
do you mean C.S. & tolkien being together in the language writers group?
thank you soooooooooooo much guys........Fireworks,Fireworks,Firewo rks,Fireworks,Fireworks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
their writers' group was called the Inklings............they got feedback and suggestions from each other at the meetings
YAY whitewitch!!!! woot! woot!

finally I can go to the bathroom :-)
i think so, stid.........but wouldnt bet my house on it....lol
me too stid
lol witch
Stid--just came in on the chat. C.S.Lewis and Tolkien, along with Charles Wilkliams and George MacDonald, were indeed all dons at Oxford, where they were known as The "Inklings"
yet the ps was... how sad... op 4/5 not the opposite of closed got that one..
lol whitewitch -- go, go!
but i couldn't believe ps** is a word
thanks hetty -- what *is* a "don" please? just a teacher
oh that ps is a silly word! I hate it (and miss it) every time it's in the grid.
how's the play coming, too? hoping rehearsals are breaking lots of legs... ;-)
a don is a lecturer wh0o also teaches seminars and has custodial responsibilities in the college for which he teaches
back for clues if someone needs help
thanks hetty, I was having a difficult time getting a "straight answer" from the internet (one of the few times it has failed me)
and our play is going well--I think--Alan is a beautifully dotty old chaplain and I've fallen in love with my Thomas all over again
Good evening, all. I am lost on the an 7/28s. Both. Any clues?

and the an 6 that is first in the list is a variant of the second an 7!

hm. typecasting again, were you hetty? LOL *sending hugs to Alan*
any hints for st5/18?
pd, both begin with the latin for year; one proceeds with an adjectival ending as in "cognate" and the other proceeds withanother first vowel, 2 crosses, and a fourth vowel
st 5/18 is a "plural" of the 4/8 that precedes
Thanks all - done with those pesky an's.
st5......pl of the st4..........to stash away
oh duh. Sorry. Thank you!
typecasting is the only way to go, stid.
go pdb go!
I sould dd that my dotty old chaplain is also sweet and loving amd the only truly compassionate member of his peer group
that would be so sad if it were true, hetty -- tell me you are making a writer's exaggeration?
Hetty, I enjoyed your bio. Especially the rubber dagger.
and he says things like--"this is of course all Greek to me, except that I understand Greek. . ."
lol
hetty - Ti kanis?
hello, ten to go here
gooooooooooooooooooo harp
(thinking my grandfathers weren't too much older than you, and they were nice)
go harp go!
No. The chaplain's cohorts--the mayor and the justice (fifteenth-century chief of police) and the sons of the household are to a man convinced Jennet is a witch and deserves to burn
Yay! Done!
wooooooooohoooooooooo itzie
YAY itzie!
nice job, itzie!
oh good! I was afraid that perhaps you were making a generalization about your generation! *huge sigh of relief*
so you see StidI'm speaking of characters in the play, not in life
not that you would be inclined to do that sort of thing... *wrestles foot out of mouth*
Congratulations whitewitch on fireworks!Good for U!
