my grandfather came from Spain when he was 11 - around 1918. He always told us that one regret was that he was never needed for any wars - too young or too old.
flip
hi helen
thanks, kalea, and thansk for going along with it
hiya muse
hey everyone
the day has special meaning for me, i'm afraid
wow...grids are getting a bit personal...yesterday male parts, today female parts!
it's like the string of curse words last week some time
chj will be pleased with ti4/4
;)
and he might tost them with a fi5/24
*toast
my father served in WWII at the age of 16 - he was with the navy. His brother was a paratrooper, and all four of my mother's brothers served as well. All survived.

*grumbles about lack of "fest" grrr*
hi ankh -- me too have tried fest many a time, along with afro, internet, etc
I keep seeing French words -- some are ok, some are not, bah
I appreciate the company, Jilli. Hey, I want a new word entirely: "ediot," for the person who revises your work and does a bad job of it!
jill - like Fifi???
de8/60
Good evening all, just in to check the grid - off to bed now, will get an early start tomorrow
de 8/60 - settling such as a court case
Fifi is a common name for a fi** which is a poodle...
i know just kidding
hi and bye flosey!
Good Evening -- My icon is a photo that I took of the wild poppies that grow along the edges of the wheat fields in the Loire Valley in France.
too many fffff's in this grid
No, Junky, isn't that just taking evidence in a court case? Not actually settling, right?
Gracious, Nan, nothing to compare with that!
lovely, nan
12 f's
hi all!
ank - I suppose so, but in certain cases it can also mean to resolve
beautiful poppies!!
NICE icon, Mab... mab? Ty, Junky
Although, I think the "resolve" word, though it sounds similar, is dis* instead of de* -- ?
jili - thanks for taking the time to write your profile, it was very interesting & very touching :)
hello to everyone while i was gridlocked
helen, I hope everyone reads your profile - so moving
hi kal - very profound sentiment
Hi, Kalea!
ank - you are correct - you get a GOLD star *. Long day today - well actually yesterday was as this one has just begun ;-)
hi kalea
fito
thank you, helen
aww jili, that's nice - tx
fito
kalea -- that's a wonderful photo
hiya Ank and Andree
sorry, always try
boo boo on that one
Wow, Jilli, thank you for all the background.
thank you, jilli........
Lest we forget...
helen, thank you for sharing the info about your parents...
kier - tx, there's plenty more, i wish i remembered more, i wish they had written alot of this down -
seems like lots of wwii veterans preferred to forget
although they were both from poland, they first met in passing in italy during the war & met again & got engaged in london after the war
i can understand that.............those embroiled in a war are changed forever
How very sweet...
did they move to u.s. (i see you are from chicago)?
that's a great story, helen
kier - i don't know about that, i remember that whenever my parents met anyone/were introduced to other poles, like at weddings & funerals, the first topic of conversation was always 'what did you do during the war'
my nephew is in iraq (or was, have lost contact with him). he is just a baby of 21
kier - yeas, they stayed in london for 7 years, & then came to chicago - i don't need to tell you they had THE oddest accents
helen--maybe they felt more comfortable with people of their own generation/background. did they share much with you?
while we remember the wars gone by, let's not forget the boys (and girls) who are fighting today......
kier - that breaks my heart, these kids lives/outlooks are changed forever
my father fought in the british army in africa, lived to tell the tale but would never tell it, subject was closed to all of us
lol helen, ican imagine! i've had 2 good friends who were from poland. they have great accents
andree, my uncle was a Japanese pow for 3 years and would Never talk about it, died young
kier........what part of iraq?
seems we just never learn to stop sending our babies to war (no matter which 'side' )
omg kier - they sure did, & at the oddest times too, i always felt it was my duty to listen (kids do get antsy, but this was so solemn), one time my mom was telling me a story about one of her gestapo interregations while we were drinking ice teas, sitting in the middle of 6 flags over st. louis
surreal
kalea--he was outside of baghdad somewhere. he would be out in the surrounding area for weeks and then come into baghdad somewhere to regroup or recharge or?
my son is in samarra........just north of baghdad
my uncle was also a pow in changi for 3 years, he is the opposite of my dad and the subject is never closed, he has dedicated a lot of his later years to a memorial in mornington victoria and in 2004 was named anzav of the year
po7
kalea--do you hear from him much? he is my nephew but i hadn't seen him since he was 10. I found his name on 'anysoldier.com' and sent him some stuff, he called me out of the blue. it was really weird but cool but now i don't know where he is
hi all, all the profile stories are incredible!
I would have liked to have heard the stories but it was not possible with my uncle - or on 2nd thot, maybe didn
I have 58 and starting to struggle can someone please tell me how many words are in this cube?
my dad who had served in WW1 was imprisoned as a civilian in HongKong by the Japanese from 1941 to 1945. He wrote verses as "mental exercises" and they are so good. He often said war never did anyone any good.
Okay, I changed clothes and added our family's stories.
i don't know how soldiers or other people who have been in wars EVER now how to return to "normalcy"
120
ty Jill :))
kier - i really like your choice of icon, i am glad to see it, because what we are striving for is also important to remembet
he used to call me a lot, but haven't heard from him in over a month
flip de dip!
What aggrevates me is the response some make to the death toll in Iraq: Its an all volunteer army. Are the lives of volunteers worth less?
hi chic
ankh - is that a precious little angel hamster?
i am scared my son will want to join the military and HE IS ONLY 8!!!
hiya Andree!
sorry........hubby is calling me to bed..........early remembrance day ceremony in the morning
bye kalea
We'll all be thinking of you, Kalea. Goodnight.
kal - thanks for sharing, good nite
goodnight, all
Ka&Ba, i was having a conversation with some students at the university where i work and one of them said they signed up for war so it's no big deal if they get killed!!! I just don't understand this thinking
Good night Kalea.
Yes, Hyprhrted, thank you.
Gnite Kalea... hope your son is safe
Too young to understand, Kierlex.
ankh -- so many angels are being remembered today - all of us seem to have a story...
i need a picture like that of my kitty who just went to kitty heaven!!
g'night,kalea
Send me your cat pic and I'll see what I can do for you.
i don't know Ankh, i think there are people who believe that no matter their age
kier - i think it's more than just plain ';youth' - there a whole new 'life is not worth much' culture growing out there - much of it fostered by gangs
that would be sooo cool thank you!!
Youth is wasted on the young!
Yes, Jilli, it hurts so much. When my godfather/uncle died, he got the gun salute; it hurt so much. I used to live next to Arlington National Cemetary (about 2 miles away) and it was... it was devastating to go out there in "the fields of stone."
at least Donald Rumsfield is out now, maybe that will help
i have also met many european young people who are extremely well versed on historical warfare, because so much has been fought on their land
all wars are bad wars
Sure, Hpy, just give me a few days, though. :)
hpyhrted -- did you find your kitty -- your profile just said she was missing...?
andree - ita
kierlex, those young people should try reading some of Ambrose Bierce's short stories of his experiences in Civil War - very graphic
Also War on the Western Front
what a lovely way to start the weekend! to 7/52...
All's Quiet on the Western Front I mean
maybe they will learn when they have their own children and see how fragile life is
and there are so many unsung heroes, like ambulance drivers, nurses, clerical workers, cooks...and even dogs giving their lives...
has anyone read 'the things they carried?'
po 7/40
sorry, chic
Chic - to7.52 - is that the sweet one?
yes sweetie!
and what's the 7/52? How does it start?
Kierlex, that's exactly when they'll learn. Jilli...
no kier - but why does it sound so famliar?
The books are fine.... but I expect there are some veterans near by that can give vivid accounts of how the first bullet coming your way took the glamour out of war. As mentioned earlier, the veteran and his/her family will never be the same...ever
TO, jilli
whee! i just discovered the -ing
ho7/40
Jilli, I just *wish* the U.S. would declare 9/11 a holiday in honor of public safety workers / first responders, like everyone from S&R dogs to the dog catcher, the firefighters, the cops, the EMT's.... it fits because of 9/11 and because 911 is our emergency number here. And I want it to be a REAL holiday, with a paid day off and NOT FLOATING.
ka - true enough
Ka&Ba, you should go pro so we could compare icons! :)
so far ho7/40 po7/40 te7/36 to7/52
po 7/32
helen it's a novel from a guy who was in vietnam, tim o'brien, and talks about the different things some soldiers carried like good luck charms, letters from home, etc etc. it is very moving
there are 2 te 7/36
the to 7 don't do me any good -- not with braces on my teeth! -- I'll stick to chocolate!
de8/60
nan said a word - Babble alert for free clue
i recently bought 'the last true lie i'll ever tell' it is written by a national guard guy who was sent to iraq (called up when he was on his honeymoon). i haven't gotten to read it yet
<very meekly and quietly> I'm done....
oh! of course!
yay summer!
ankh - we already have a day like that, it's called dec. 7
de7.36
Congrats, SummerRose!!!!!
yay summer
SUMMER'S DONE ALREADY, GANG!!!
oops -- sorry!
CONGRATS Summer Rose
ankh, i scanned a pic of my cat, but i'm not very good at this, how do i send it to you??
Wow Summmer - congrats!
Helen, what do you mean? Pearl Harbor Day is not a day for domestic emergency responders... ??
thank you....
my husband is a police officer, i think he would rather just have a little more appreciation/positive attitude from people throughout the year than a whole day of recognition
summer you are amazing!
Hyper, drop me a note right now @verizon.net and I'll give you instructions.
same basic thing though - attack on us soil, & people responded
there's not a lot of weird words in this one...
I'll drink to that, nan (a double)
I have 34 left, but I want to go listless so probably won't finish tonight.
I'm sure he would, Kierlex, but I want them all to have that day anyway. They deserve it. They secure our domestic peace as soldiers try to secure our international peace.
I only have 9 left and they are driving me crazy.
YAY, Rose, and glad the words are normal!
get off the bus, Shannon
hehe, I have 74 left as usual
this puzzle does need a brs, however...LOL...
*bra
or instead of a day off, how about providing decent body armor.... that stuff is so expensive, a lot of departments can't or won't pay for it, or just buy the basic stuff
brs?
thanks Kier for posting that title, I'd like to read that
ooh, a drink, that's what i need! good idea nan!
bra
you're welcome, muse.
and pimple creme...
wasn't my idea, but I'll join you!
I Want The Day Off for the whole country, with parades. AND I want the body armor.
done!
Congrats, Tea!!
anyone with the po 7/32?
oops, it was jill
A Rose for T &C!!! @}>~~~~~~~ Congrats!
Shannon, look at the ho7.
the action of the po 4/5
YAY TeaNC!
yay tean
Congrats T&C!
another really intense thing is The Band of Brothers hbo series. Very good and they intersperse it with interviews of the real soldiers that stephen ambrose wrote about for the book/series
the rhyme with a suffix- sounds like eyes
thanks everyone - just in time, too - hubby is going to work, so I should go to bed!
I have the 7/40, it's the very first po 7 word that I'm missing. It's the one after the literary thing.
are there any dh's in this one?
oh, no, summer, don't spoil chj's fun -- he has the ho4/5 for ti4/4 and may hoist a fi5/24 in their honour if he's ho7/40 a group of ho3/4 - lol
yes
good nite everyone and let's all pray for peace on this day too
Yes, Muse... good night.
good night muse -- agreed
high five, jil :)
LOL Jilli! that's funny!
ROFL, jilli!
gnite muse

good nite muse :)
I'm off to bed...Have a good Veteran's day...

Night-night, Helen.

TY Jilli, didn't have it for some reason... tooo sleeepy.
Nice icon, Chic, missed it earlier somehow.
thanx, ankh!
i wonder if we have any kahlua in the house? time for a nightcap..
what a good idea, krys -- I have some...
and I have some whipping cream to float on top for an Angel's Kiss...
I think I may have figured out how to put an icon on my gray head.
mine with milk and ice please
I did, I did!
yummy! i will go raid th basement and see what I can find
i keep seeing words that aren't there "petite".. maybe I shouldn't have one after all! brb
Well, congrats, Shannon, but who are those two lovelies? You *must* put it in your profile or I'll ask you ever time I see you, forgetful old soul that I am!
last 25 will have to wait for tomorrow -- good night, everyone.
milk and ice sounds good -- brb -- anyone else?
night nan
nanight, nan
and now I changed it. Did it work?
nope.
Yes, Shannon, you've got it now.
yes it did, shannon -- very nice tribute
No thanks, Jilli.
It did. I've been leaving that gray head all this time because I thought I was too computer illiterate to figure that out. I can't believe I did. Now I think it's time for bed.
hi all
hi chj
Well, Yay for Shannon, for finishing the icon if not the grid! G'night, O Computer Wiz.
chj!!!!!
after all that mental effort, shannon? You must be exhausted -- lol!
chixie
hello chj
I am exhausted. With only 9 left I think I'm giving up.
andree
hi lynxxx
hi chj -- see about 1:05 if you haven't already done so
CHJ, I keep misreading your locale & get this image of you kNeeling under a coconut tree..
found just enough kahlua to mix with milk and a bit of chai. luvely. plus i noticed my kiln was cool and pulled a piece out, which came out very well.
I figured out the flag thing too. I'm really going above and beyond tonight.
good work, shannon!!!
hahaha
Good for you, Krys.
I do, CHJ!
what will i find at 1:05
a toast to your preferences, maybe
1:05 est or 1:5 cst
babbletime
oh just after the flip
Kneeling, and picking them up, and dragging them off to make pińa coladas, yeah!
i didnt see but i was informed that my name was mentioned in connection with the ti4
that would be 12:05, chj
like in castaway ank
jilli wrote a tribute to you about fifteen minutes ago with lots of clues in it

what kind of a stupid word is te7
A word about how to tell whether you're smart or stupid! :)
te7 is a very normal word - having exams
Phantom: etouffee, New Orleans dish...mmmm...
are we talking about the same te 7 ganja
have two te 7's -- both everyday words
I suppose you could apply the word to babies

I soooo much want phiff to be a word. And to mean something like nothing. "I don't give a phiff about his chances"
hi everyone
hi Bittong
hi biltong
hi bilt
You are all remembering - Remembrance Day? What does the day relate to? We remember on what we call Anzac Day - the landings at Gallipoli WWI
the ending of ww1 in europe
rememberance day is for all who died in any wars
Veterans day
se6.36 - compound - start a journey
ty lynxxx
i thought it was the signing of the end of 2nd WW and memory of dead soldiers
lynxx to teh rescue again ty
ww1 ended on the 11 th hour of 11th day of 11 month
same here ursh
On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month the gunfire ceased in 1918 the end of World War 1. So we take that time and day to remember all who died in conflict.
but sappie is right - it is the end of wwi not ii that marks the date
That's right sapphie. I remember now. We don't celebrate that ... supposedly Gallipoli was the worst casualties for the Anzac troops - that's the day we use.
Hi everyone - Just finished my last one: eo + religious notion of fault - How is everyone?
australia does have a minutes silence on rememberance day
hi purple, well done!!
and we also wear poppies today
hi purple
31 left - and stuck. off for the list.
i have a lot of aussie friends and they have told me about anzacs day...they get up at first light to have ceremony
We have such a day on the day WWII ended in Holland. 4th of May. And the next day is Liberation Day, when we celebrate the importance of freedom.
Gosh, I wonder why we don't? Do you also have poppies on Anzac Day?
Click on my icon for the reason for the poppies
yes anzac day is huge in australia, but rememberance day is also important - there were a lot of ceremonies today
wtg purple!
i never knew that sprite, thats interesting..i guess most countries have a similar thing going on
Oh yes, today is Remembrance Day. I see you're wearing the poppy jilibus
Can't find the d8. Can somebody give another clue, please?
You finished, puff?? Well done!!!
de8 the act of removing a king from the throne
de + sitting
I like the idea of Liberation Day ... I would expect it would be quite different for a country that had been occupied during the war.
de + striking an attitude
End it with the po 6/27
ty, Ganja, jilli and Ang.
Having a break now - 34 left. I must say today and all your comments leaves me quite sad and brings back memories of family members who were in the wars. Let us all hope that what one of the thngs that they fought for - no more wars - will one day actually happen. Peace.
have a look at new.com.au for coverage of australian rememberance day ceremonies Ang
Good morning all

Madonna/Vogue - Strike a po**
de 8: de + pretend to be someone else ending in present continuous
Put a longer ending on that word ramix!
ack!! silly me! merci all...didnt even see the present continuous suffix there!
Ganja, how old was he?
I hear you, lynxxx, and I am right with you. If we no longer hope and believe it can happen, it never will. So let's believe in peace.

It was to illustrate 'rouge'. I had a nice pic of me when I was appearing at the Moulin Rouge. It brought back happy memories (all made up of course!)
Nice photo, haz. How is spangle?
Spangle is fine - I'm thinking I should change icon if the theme is Remembrance Day?

Hello, Onpaki
Hello, Onpaki
Hi Onpaki
hi onpaki
Merk - it's the kind of grid where you can find normal words quite quickly. I'm over halfway - maybe things will get more difficult.....
hi onpak
any clues for the eo please?
eo plus wrongdoing, for eo5
eo + religious notion of fault
someone mentioned that it's a nice grid today :)
ty
That 'c' is going to be worthless today, isn't it?
very
I think so, Merk.
not even a czar...
23 left and I haven't used it yet
According to BJ's list the c is not used at all
I'd forgotten BJ did a letter count... I love obscure statistics...
His 2nd letter list is very userful to eliminate unused letters
It's so straightforward, as far as options
I've never used BJ. What and where is it?
Clues anyone? - before I go?
No, but what did you find to be your hardest word? Not the lone 8 this time round.
yes, please purple. the d at the bottom of the grid. Clues please?

Bye Biltong
TY FM - and a husband who works in the print industry too!
lol yw lynxxx
does anyone have a clue for po 7/32?
anike - extend on the po4.5
po7,32, to convert to a po4,5... i think
po7/32 - develop one's verse writing skills.
i've just found the enemy of te5/12 - to7/52. The scourge of fillings.
Yum yum!
there is 2 extensions of te5.12 as well
Thanks for the po7. Now I just need the first 2 de's. probably very obvious but eluding me
The first two de words are related to the third one.

The dictionary doesn't give any other meaning - I'll have a look to see what the English is supposed to mean.
of4.10 ....its a fish flosey, uses double cons and plural
of 4/10 - departures

thanks lynxxx, now I can get back to bed! 2:40 am!
I am finally stuck. It's probably as easy as the nose in front of my face ... to4,7
It's 10.40 am here
and Hydra, tks, wouldn't have done it without you two
(blushes)
to4/7 - replace one of the high scoring letters in the snooty to4/10 with another consonant.
The word then begins and ends with the same letter.
Duh! I am overconfident, buzzing right along. I was looking for that, but starting from the wrong t.

Hi Frances
can anyone help with this he 7/36
sorry please
i have a bit of a bizarre wquestion.......does anyone have a sony ericsson k750i mobile phone?
hi everyone
In the USA it is Veteran's Day today. IS it Remembrance Day in the UK?
it is scrabbler
I made the mistake of being in the supermarket during the 2 minutes silence... most people stopped and observed the silence, but a few carried on shopping, talking etc...
Sorry rilin - Samsung
Even rolin - so sorry
You did the right thing, sherb.
my son has a sony ericsson but don't know which one
and he's gone off to work now
I don't understand how some people can choose to ignore it... two minutes silence is not a lot to ask to show respect for those who gave their lives...
Quite right sherb
feel better now after that rant... :)
Because of self-absorption, ignorance, disregard--sadly
too true sherb
well..no...not really scrabbler...its ironic really...cos..one of the things ppl say they fight a war for is to protect the rights of other ppls freedom of coice...and those ppl choice not to observe the silence
But some people think only of themselves and are not grateful
yes, that's a logical argument, rolin... but I just find it unnecessarily disrespectful...
all ill say is if it wasnt for them people in the ww2 we wouldnt have the life we lead these days
Amen.
ill second that
anyway im stuck on this he 7/36 can anyone help me please
i have a problem with the whole remeberance thing...thats all..
me too sandr... I think it's an he from something Haz said earlier, but I may be wrong...
he7... begins with a word for seven
and dont tell me herb that haz has gone
ofts
he 7/36 2 syllable word. 1st syllable is an old fashioned word for "cool cat" 2nd syllable is a common chemical suffix
...and ends like the thing in the middle of your face...
Sorry, not a word!
thanyou all for them clues got it now
TY for that clue!
sandr he7/36 sounds like the digits on the end of your fe4/7 are really with it

di 4/10 uses the highest scoring letter
the di 4/10 a scattered person might be called a di**
di4/10. A term for blondes. clueless.
st5,14?
the di rhymes with a "high-class" Hotel, and an American cracker brand
Not all blondes are this though!
st 5/14 what a bee does

Scrabbler... what a bee does to you
HI

Hello to all that I missed coming back in :)
Scorpio, Welcome to the game. Make as many words as you can from the grid. It works against an internet dictionary "Enable".
Hello scorpio welcome:)
Click on lickets babble clues and you'll find list of first two letters of all today's words, Scorpio.
scorpio--scroll down to lickety's list and Angelsong's link
hi scrpiogirl how are you getting on
op 6/24 = op + sounds like the word for how tall you are. The op 7 is a plural
what are the tickets list
TY ARB!!!!!
I just found the op's--on lickety's dictionary list, but TY ARB
There are number of sites listed under the grid. Click on Licketys Babble Clues, Scorpiogirl

teet
sorry everyone!
I love your photo, hydra--what a sweetie
The lists we refer to are the lists of the first two letters of the words in the grid, Scorpio. They're on licketys Babble Clues.

Good morning!
TRhanks, Scrabbler. His name is felix and he's 10. He was a feral stray who got himself adopted and is soft as furry butter now.

He has one fang that hangs out so his nickname is Fangio.

de + po6
Moms still holding her own - going to see her this afternoon and having dinner with her :)

Well, hydra, give Fangio a kiss from me.

cliffopa----what a bunch of sweeties
I used to have a little kitten that hid under my hair and rode on my shoulder when I went shopping.
i'm looking for the link but its not there
Charm--one po6 is the po7 minus the last letter
scorpio--scroll down to Friends of Babble, second column, 4th link down
Is there a link to babblers anonymous, scorpio? Those who have joined se a different screen to you.
Rock's so territorial, we can't foster any at present. When he's gone, I think we might foster some. and we'll adopt only special needs cats such as the very old, or those with physical problems.
Scorpio... use this link: http://licketysplitaus.googlepages.c om/babbleclues
sorry it's not all on the same line
metal-all my adoptees(3 cats/1 dog) are rescues, most had medical issues. since we have an empty nest, i've set up a spare bedroom as a kitten room.
back to try and get a few more
welcome back for another round anno
Good for you, cliffopa. Someday when I retire I want to manage a rabbit rescue in my home.
ty metal I keep finding a few then getting dragged away to do other things
scrabbler, there is definitely a need for that since most people don't get their bunnies spayed or neutered.
back for a bit, hi again
When I'm of fixed abode I'm going to have loads of needy creatures of all sorts. At the mo, they're all human!!!
Hi pam
hello pam:)
hi pam
when we first got Rock, he was just an older cat... and we fell in love with his dignified manner. Since he came home to us, he's had cancer twice (and lost a leg to it in the process) but still manages to herd us around as if he were a border collie
Ah it's a glorious Saturday in south Florida.....sunny, clear...65.....it's a great day to be alive
Hi Pam
Lovely pic, annotherone. Where is it?
I have raised bunnies for 23 yrs, and have had, and still have, special needs bunnies. I have the scars on my hands and arms as a result of trying to get medicine into bunnies.
thanks for the welcome!
Faerie--how's mom?
50 wrds down
it was a photo I took in Cornwall hydra
metal, rock is very lucky he found you.
Bassetts Cove
Pam she is still with my Sis and about the same - I'm going to have dinner with her this evening
was down there in March and realised what a beautiful sunset it was so raced to the nearest coastal point to photograph it
and Thanks for asking :)
chiley--great icon. I am a pediatrician and CF is a dreadful disease for kids and their families.
i missed that she was discharged--wasn't on for days, enjoy dinner!
scrabbler, i purchased an item for my cats that helps with that. let me see if i can find the link.
Yes Pam she has a nurse coming in to see her 3 times a week and living with my oldest Sis right now
I hope she is okay, and that all of you are as well--you have had a time of it...
That would be great, cliffopa, because oven mitts are too bulky.
diving back in
ok. I finally got that de8 (kept forgetting about the verb ending). bbl for the final 23. have fun....
Oh, faerie, I didn't know she left the hospital--great!
i've got it thanks. Anyway i'm looking to make new friends L)
i've got it thanks. Anyway i'm looking to make new friends L)
hi everyone! what's today's theme?
Join in on the fun, friendship and frustration, scorpio
we think we're lucky to have him. he brings us such joy and so much fun every day. (except when he does his mountain goat imitation and leaps from the floor up to the top of whichever human is closest to the edge of the bed. that's his signal that its time to feed the cat, or water the cat, or otherwise pay attention to the cat
Roses TO and Hi
or flowers in general
It is wonderful that you chose to extend his life, despite illness, metaleather, as many pet owners, upon hearing the cost of care, choose to euthanize.
There is an o word accepted which is NOT in the grid does anyone else have the same problem??
nicely said, scrabbler
No, it is there, lucky--there are 2 double F's in the grid.
accepted in the game but can't be found in the letters?
hi faerie nice to hear your mom is better
TO - can't say she is better but she is out of the hosital which is wonderful
She still still has constant pain and her bowels are well going all the time
morning everyone!

*blushes*
fo 6/30?
If only those words worked!
now you have all seen my amazing strategy...argh
Pam - Dr's are still trying to get her meds regulated since they OD'd her twice in the hospital
fo6 is fe5 with O inserted
fo 6/30 - stinky
hugs to her, faerie
thanks
Your monkey does the same thing mine does angela
What are words on gi ?
monkey stuuuuuupid!
the gi4's are anagrams of each other. gi4= to get the idea of
bbl - time for a run to the bagel shop
Scrabbler, finally found it. Designed for cats, but comes in 3 sizes so might also work for bunnies. Go to: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/ prod_display.cfm?pcatid=3159
thnx
Scrabbler,...what is fe5? do not have either of them.
gist
off to get leaf bags...later
sorry
fe5--foul-smelling
kkiln, one is "parties or celebrations" and the other is "stinky"
well I've made it 1/2 way thru the grid without waking my company yet *teehee*
TY cliffopa, although I may get shredded trying to get one of my bunnies in that. Callie is a sassy bunny.
my Spousal Equivalent/Other Half and I were laughing about something the other day... neither he nor I will go to the doctor unless SEVERELY ill because of cost, but let Rock show the slightest sign of appetite loss or a dark scaly patch (that's how his cancer started both times) and we scoop and run to the vet in a heartbeat
(((((((((faerie))))))))))
Same with me, metaleather
((((((((((((((((((Shorty)))))))))))))) ))))
*oops* probably awake now *teehee*

no prob! That was a rally we had here this summer... a group of Nazis came to Madison to hold a rally. There was a huge counter rally and tons of cops
aahh, that's why it reminds me of riding out of Barcelona and seeing the Guardia Civil lining the highway . . . very intimidating . . .
just think, if he's this smooth when he's this young.... he's gonna be downright dangerously smooth when he gets a few years experience under his belt
So true most definitely he sure has a smooth tongue

Hello klaurel - it's a very nice grid today.

Well, I liked it anyway!
:) SO, its a nice grid
yay cleaning lady coming monday
Lots of good real words and a smattering of babblets too klaurel.
oh klaurel care to send her here when she's done?
I will happily send her your way! :)
of course, I was a little disappointed with her work l;ast time, so, we will see what happens this time
God, how totally snobbish do I sound?
I've got my husband pretty well trained at most things but his cleaning skills are still lacking
fireworks
Yay, Cyber
Congratulations cybernan!
wd cyber
Not at all Klaurel!
My husband got me my cleaning lady when my dauhgjter was 6 months and she would not sleep more than a 1/2 hour by herself and I couldn;t get any cleaning done, and now, well, I am justused to it!
YAY Cyber!
I just don't do cleaning, I have way better things to be doing with my time (yes babble is far more important :D)
Oh congrats cnan, nearly missed yr fireworks there.
<LOL> I have two kids and an obsessive personality
if I don't at least CLEAN something, then I feel like I am losing comtrol of my life
I have three, I gave up trying to clean up after them long ago
thank you, all
<LOL> If I let it become too much of a mess, KT, then I freak out
anyone want a clue before I leave?
Though I am not obsessive about everything where it belongs and my house is TOTALLY cluttered, but, I need to at least pick up
sure, Cyber, I Just started, so you can pick any of the 91 words I have left!
i have four and a granddaughter and a cleaning lady...and i still go crazy trying to keep everything clean!!!
i babble so i won't look at it sometimes!
my kids yell at me that i just put away what they were still playing with
I'm on my way then -- the current web page I'm building is turning out to be a lot more complicated than I had anticipated!
<LOL> ANd yet, your kids at home have to be at least, what, high school?
Bye bye, Cyber!
anyone know what ho6,27
actually, i am at my son's apartment at college with my 3 year old daughter and his 4 year daughter. just got done cleaning apartment...needed to babble!
if I try to put stuff away by the time I've turned around it's back out all over the floor again, I decided there's no point trying
<LOL> ouch! Poor thing! Wow, I havea 3-year odl daughter too!
ho6,27 is the gerund of the ho4,5 before it
and a 10 year old son
op 6/24..pls
ho6/27 - If you have the fireman's equipment, ho4/5 then make the 6 an action word.
my oldest is 19 at WVU, my second is a senior in high school, my third is 10 and my youngest is 3. granddaughter is 4
o + homonym for what goes on in a boxing ring
op+ what you do to the ball with a baseball bat + second vowel
<LOL> Wow, DIspatch, we have two same year old kids. . . and wow, you are a grandma! :) Does he have custody?
then pl for the op7
op6/25 - First three letters of tragic heroine (Shakepeare) then rearrange the letters of men's neckwear. op7 is the plural
wow klaurel we are experiencing some of the same things!
is your 10 year old going through the all-knowing-attitude stage?
thnx...got it!
Oh, heck, yeah, and it doesn't help that he is in AT classes and Gifted Math
and my three year old is a total little princess too
my son shares custody with his daughter's mom. they are no longer a couple, but things have really settled into a good relationship as parents
of6/27 please?
is your 10 a boy?
it was horrible for a year...but it's great now.
of7, of + exam
yes...10 yr. son/ 3 yr. daughter
my older two are boys also
<LOL> Yep, same hhere!
I meant of 6,27
I am sending my son to counselling since he has impulse control issues
thanks bubba!
what do you mean by impulse control?
yw
As in, he says and does what comes into his mind without thinking about it
he also has trouble controlling his temper and emotions when he gets frustrated
my son comes home from college every tuesday and every weekend to see his daughter. it's a two hour drive each way. i have my granddaughter 3-4 days a week also.
ohhh...i hope the counselling is helping. sometimes when someone is so intelligent, they do get frustrated when things don't happen as they are supposed to.
this weekend, i took the trip down to his college just for a change of pace
precisely, Dispatch. :) And he is in a school district where your school is assigned by grade, not by location, so, he will be with teh same 20 kids for 12 years since that is the top 25% of the class
and the same 6 in gofted (top 1%)
I think it is a great thing that he can still go to school and can have time with his child
on one side, some great friendships will cultivate over the years...but on the other side, if you don't get along with someone...the experience is negative
dispatch - I live here in Morgantown and husband works at WVU
Precisely, and he ain't the most popular kid in class, actually, more of them barely tolerate him
i must brag...my curtee is extremely blessed. not only does he have a healthy, beautiful, loving child, but he was very successful in high school. his senior year, he was prom king and was the star pitcher of our baseball team. he led his team to win the PA state championship with a no-hitter. Never been done in state history!!!
he gave up baseball in college though because of his commitment to come home to see his daughter. needless to say...mom and dad are very proud of him
klaurel I was like that in school, top of the class with no friends. If he is anything like me, he will happy when he leaves school and is free to be himself instead of being forced to fit in
he is studying chemical engineering. he's a sophomore. next semester he will be co-oping with the chemical company that he had a summer internship with
so...he will be living back home by mid-december
congrats kth on your academic status!
yep, KT, he is like my brother, totally brilliant and clueless socially
society doesn't really cater for bright people who want to be themselves
you are a very sensitive mom to get him counselling now. and kth is right...once free to excel on his own...who knows what he'll do
I know! I hope so he does well and the counselling helps him now. I went into manic depression before my mom acknowledged there might be a problem
girls want to read a story...i'll be back tonight to finish it up and watch the flip. have a great day everyone!!!
enjoy, Dispatch
evening all
bye dispatch, hi sha

Hi all - New at this. Asked the other day what you are all discussing and I was told to read that helpful Angelsong's page. It was great but still confused. What is the "list" you are talking about.... and how do those numbers you write (ex. te 7/36) work? I am lost!!!!
marge the list is lickety's clues, there's a link at the bottom of the page
the numbers refer to the length of the word and the points given for it
Thanks, kthdsn
the list is lickety's list...the numbers are as follows...te 7(how many letters are in the word)/36(how many pooints the tiles add up to)

STUBBY - by grad school you should be able to write a 10 page paper in your sleep.

di4.10 is being an airhead.
ne 1 de 8,60 plz
of 6-27: the most often
You would think.
ankh, of plus exam
Raise that as an issue, Stubby, as a way sexism has permeated even this class: you are being pushed towards the prof's conclusions about sexism by being fed leading questions.
Dawg, thank you thank you.
At any level teachers like you to puke what they already told you back att ehm though.
ooo that's good ankh

I'm curious as to what the prof is thinking. My grad profs always assumed we knew we'd be expected to have an opinion backed by facts and resources
THink of a slang word for pimples
st 5-22 another word for dead body
ne more clue for de 8,60 lbdawger plz
our prof is a very active activist for education

Just wondering because I never know what I need.
msilver -- I have licketys printable list open in a different window next to the babble window -- this way I just line them up to compare
I type the words into Lickety's or I print out the list and write the words.Usually I print out Lickety's list.
msilver20, do you have the tile stats? Aren't you pro?
Grey, I would love to do that but I can't figure it out. I'm also on an Apple laptop. I do have a Dell desktop but I'd rather use this. Can I do that?
I am pro
So the tile stats below should tell you what you need.
It does but there is much more info on the clue list!
I don't know, ms -- I am not familiar with Apple tech
Neither am I.
I agree msilver620. I prefer to use Lickety's list also.
It's good to have both. They each serve a discrete purpose.
