fran, is there a jewler called nan hoku where you live?

hursh - did you figure out the no6? i'm still thrashing about for it.
they just made them legal here in July so they go crazy here
no that's one of my 3
hey i had fun at the BIG mall today...and i went to nan hoku which has island inspired jewelry
you would think with the math and knowing the words on either side. . .
2...
well hoku means star in hawaiian, it's usually a first name
i don't have the math and the words on either side, only know it's a six cause that's what i have left! not using list
like don ho's daughter is named hoku, she sings too.
help with 8 and 7
1...
and i got to toauch a $38K strand of gold south sea pearls. that mall is better than fantasy island
(which is the no6... lol)
done.
that's a pretty word - hoku - star - i like that!
spiral - think of a scientific word for skin - it may be more familiar with a prefix.
soso is so a word

so-so
a covering or vestment, that's the def for the te8
what does "nan" mean, fran?
soso so is a word! so is nono.

ty Hursh
tx hurshy - thought i had typed that - but i have a sticky keyboard (cookie crumbs) & sometimes forget to look up!
this is great, i'll be free to watch the world's strongest man marathon now
i think it may have been "na"
TO, i just googled na hoku and found them
i'm really not sure, but it may mean something like "from the stars"
Isn't osso as in osso bucco a word?

GOOD JOB ARB

*my own compulsive genes kicking into high gear here*.... must resist the sparklies, must resist...
dumb, i saw nothing, read north
an hour and a half from FW
we would make a good pair - you are compulsive, i am obsessive.
meaning an hour and a half away is nothing at all as far as time to drive is concerned in TX
I'm a bit both I think
I lived SE of FW
oh, i understood that...... we drove almost that long just to get to IKEA the other day
in the armpit of the world, also known as Corsicana
know it well. we hit there often for the bakery. that is something my mom misses.
PA has lots of great bakeries. FW has very few - if any
I worked at the bakery during "fruitcake season" one year
good morning everyone
that is too funny. i really thought that there is only one fruitcake and people keep passing it around
lol

wow jil & metal ty ty ty.... never even thought to look at that te; you all are wonderful!!!
I didn't think I would ever find that te 7 and 8
happy to help all
great second clue
this old blonde brain functions ever so slow lol
ty, tyvm. as you can most likely tell, I'm a Trekkie (or as they prefer to call themselves nowadays, a Trekker)
lol cool
you're an embroiderer too? I love it.
me too; have never done much more than pillow cases and wall hangings, but I love doing it
not too many people these days do crewel. do you prefer Jacobean designs or more modern?
not sure I know the difference; How do you define Jacobean? I like the Crewel stitches ... satin stitches, French knots - flowers, samplers with verses
from what I have read, it's not so much a matter of the stitches as it is the type of thread used. Embroidery stitches are the same whether it's crewel or regular embroidery. The thread for Crewel is usually a thin yarn or perle cotton, where you use embroidery floss for "regular" embroidery
okay; I usually use 3 to 6 threads. What then is Jacobean?
Jacobean work is highly stylized designs, usually floral... like what you'd see in colonial bed linens or clothing... the stitches used there are mostly chain, split, long/short with some outline and french knots
I must like Jacobean then; I have done a few wall coverings and two pillow covers that sound like what you are describing
if you google image search for crewel, it'll show you what I mean about crewel designs
I usually shop for kits at Janylyn.com and Hershners (I hope I spelled that correctly)
ok brb
same for Jacobean
close enough, I know the company well
have their latest catalog on my nightstand
have you ever tried needlepoint?
crewel classic looks like what I have done; I also have done several table runners. I have never done needlepoint.
needlepoints a breeze, once you get over the switch working on cloth to working on canvas. the stitches are basically the same
I am extremely slow, but I love how precise it is, and I love to see the pictures unfold!
you should try it some time
me too Dee, and I love the way the texture of the fabric feels as the design gets closer and closer to completion
it changes from soft and malleable to more structured, even stiff if the work is intense in a particular area
totally agree. In needlepoint, do you have to use a grid to count, or do you use stamped designs?
you can go either way
some canvases come pre-painted
other times, you work from a grid, especially if the design is geometric
you should check out the ANG web site
what is the ANG website?
Fireworks
congrats flosey
yayyyy flosey
ANG is the American Needlepoint Guild
thanks Volley and Metal, now off to bed, busy day tomorrow
yay flosey!!
'night flosey, HNY
tks MVA
http://www.needlepoint.org/index.php

lol
yvw Dee
ty metal and flosey!

good morning everybody:)
hi jean
good morning jean and HNY to you
good morning Jean - but I'm saying goodnight - 12:30 am here
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE
good night flosey and happy new year, and to you metaleather and everyone:)
Happy New Year to all!!!
oh Dee, if you do write... make sure you put something in the subject line about being from Babble... otherwise I'll probably end up deleting it... I don't open stuff from unrecognized sources
will see you all at late flip tomorrow
I totally agree. I will do that!
when you go to the ANG site, be sure to check out the Stitch of the Month...
sounds like fun. How long have you done needlework?
every year they put up instructions on how to do different stitches, new ones each month... the December design has the completed design, using all the newly learned stitches
wow how beautiful!
lemme see now... i'm 48, and close enough to 49 to spit and hit it so I've probably been doing some kind of stitching or another for at least 45 years
you must be amazing! My grandmother taught me when I was very little. Then when I got rheumatoid I started again to try to keep my fingers nimble. I so wish I had a needlework buddy around here... seems to be a lost art.
I am just me kiddo... sometimes a wee bit amazing, but mostly just ordinary ol' me.
a needlework buddy does sound good
have you looked into local groups in or near your area?
I live in rural Indiana; I am lucky to find the floss I need, which is why I found online catalogs to start again.
Morning all
check that link out too... it's a bunch of color variations on that year's stitches..... it shows the variety of stitches available in needlepoint http://www.needlepoint.or g/StitchOfTheMonth/2000/Dec/Samples.ph p
We have a lot of quilters around here, but no embroiderers that I have found.
hi ren8
hi ren8:)
well heck, we'll start our own online Babble stitching group then... there are lots of stitchers of various persuasions here in Babble land
hi ren, good to see you
that is amazing
mind-boggling almost
if I could find my sampler pillows, I'd scan them and put up the pics
Hi MVA, Jean & Metal
Last year I gave a bunch of table runners away at Christmas; they were simmple designs, but everyone seemed to appreciate them and have used them. I am hoping to have time after the holidays to start again. Lately I have been spending too much time babbling LOL

Hi fran and her
Hello Angb
hey angb!
Hey ang your closer to new yuears than me
Hi there ren - didn't see you
Yep 1 1/2 hrs to go
been lingering briefly
Just come home from party - boys not old enough to stay up - or young enough to sleep in someone else
someone else's bed
how old are your boys Angb
we don't go anywhere yet.
tony
6 and 9 years old
firecrackers are legal here and the whole island gets blanketed in smoke...literally
sorry about that - thats a nice age my boy is 3 and a pain sometimes
Hello angh Happy New Year:) didnt see you come in was on the phone to my niece in New Zealand
They grow up ren - and quickly too. Three is hard though - it gets easier I think - or maybe just different
Happy New Year Jean.
2007 - It's a 9 year ... will be better than this one supposedly
ren, i think 3-year olds are very bossy, that's how mine is!
some of friends have kids who are 4/5 and they are harder than 3 apparently but hoping it does get easier after
very true Fran - I was on phone the other day and he says sssh mummy I am watching tele, how old is he!!
School sorts them out I find - some kids just need to have "work" to do. My 6 year old improved heaps once at school
well that's good news angb.
coz he was born in Nov he has to stay home for a year longer than if he was born in the summer, how unlucky is that
Only just started but this seems a nice grid
my husband and i were having a discussion in the car while driving and my son ordered us to "calm down" and "stop fighting"
Bummer ren - in NZ children start school on their 5th birthday
brb food time
we weren't really arguing of course.
later infernal
see ya her
bye infernal:)
he will start in the Sept and turn 5 in the Nov so he will be one of the eldest in his class
Bye Herin
That's rough - they are really into keeping kids in their age groups here - with their social peers.
it's not bad angb, i have 23 left without list so far.
Hi everyone
Aahh no Fran - I don't know if I can do that again

The Ugly Sisters, jewels and all, Departed for the Palace Ball
by kier
While darling little Cinderella Was locked up in the slimy cellar, Where rats who wanted things to eat, Began to nibble at her feet
ewww
She bellowed, "Help!" and "Let me out!" The Magic Fairy heard her shout. Appearing in a blaze of light, She said, "My dear, are you all right??"
morning all.....clues please for so6/24,,,and so6/18??
"All right??" cried Cindy. "Can't you see I feel as rotten as can be!" She beat her fist against the wall, And shouted, "GET ME TO THE BALL!"
sorry for the interupt clu for the so 6/18 please
flask, so6/24, babble word, guys who are into hosiery
hello flask - we're listening to a story
so6/18 is the most achy
thanks back to the story
so6/18, add on to "pustules"
"There is a Disco at the Palace! The rest have gone and I am jealous! I want a dress! I want a coach! And earrings and a diamond brooch! And silver slippers, two of those! And lovely nylon panty-hose! Done up like that I'll guarantee The handsome Prince will fall for me!"
can u elaborate on the hosiery one please?
so*k (what you put on before your shoe) + "guys"
the Fairy said, "Hong on a tick." She gave her wand a mighty flick. And quickly, in no time at all, Cindy was at the Palace Ball!
Hong= hang
flask, it goes from top to bottom of the grid.
thanks Fran...got it!
It made the Ungly Sisters wince to see her dancing with the Prince. She held him very tight and pressed herself against his manly chest. The Prince himself was turned to pulp, all he could do was gasp and gulp!
cool flask!
what - no pumpkin?
Then midnight struck. She shouted, "Heck! I've got to run to save my neck!" The Prince cried, "NO! ALAS! ALACK! He grabbed her dress to hold her back.
post star trek, she was transported
prince pulpkin lynxx
LOL
As Cindy shouted, "LET ME GO!" The dress was ripped from head to toe. She ran out in her underwear, and lost one slipper on the stair.
if that was britney or paris, she'd be nekkid
I thought this girl seemed a bit loose!
hey clue for the te 7 pleasesssss
do you have the te8 infernal?
The Prince was on it like a dart, he pressed it to his pounding heart, "The girl this slipper fits", he cried "Tomorrow morn shall be miy bride! I'll visit every house in town, until I've tracked that maiden down!"
there is heaps under Infernal
nope
Then rather carelessly, I fear, he placed it on a crate of beer.
oh no!
te + chewing *** + argu**** (that is the te8)
laughs!
for te7, take the last letter off
What is this leading to ... beer at the ball?
At once, one of the Ugly Sisters, (The one whose face was blotched with blisters) sneaked up and grabbed the dainty shoe, And quickly flushed it down the loo!
Then in its place she calmly put the slipper from her own left foot!
LOL fran my first thought from that was chewing cud *sigh*
Thanks Fran....just logged on and there was your wonderful clue for Te 7.
lol ata!
Can see where this story is going - serves the prince right for ripping her dress off!
dastrdly ugly sister!
Ah-Ha! you see, the plot grows thicker, And Cindy's luck starts looking sicker...!
thank you
yw kkiln, but i hope that didn't ruin some fun for you!
lol angb!
Next day, the Prince went charging down to knock on all the doors in twon. In every house, the tension grew. Who was the owner of the shoe!
please say it has a happy ending!
box of tissues at the ready!
Ah yes fran - but for who?
The shoe was long and very wide. (A normal foot got lost inside.) Also it smelled a wee bit icky. The owners feet were hot and sticky
htat's very deep angb!
pooh! disgusterus
ick
We have lots of shoes like that around here
Thousands of eager people came to try it on, but all in vain. Now came the Ugly Sister's go. One tried it on, but the Prince screamed "NO!!!!"
Aha
But she screamed, "YES! IT FITS! WHOOPEE!! Now you've got to marry me!"
The Prince went white from ear to ear, He muttered, "Let's get out of here!" "Oh no you don't, you've made a vow! There's no way you can back out now!
"OFF WITH HER HEAD!" the Prince roared back They chopped it off with one big whack!
ooh, the story takes an ugly turn
This pleased the Prince, he smiled and said, "She's prettier without her head."
thats what you get for being pushy
What this prince will do - power gone mad
Then up came sister number two, who yelled, "Now I will try the shoe!"
"TRY THIS INSTEAD!" The Prince yelled back. He swung his trusty sward and SMACK - Her head went crashing to the ground. It bounced a little and rolled around.
if i were cindy, I'd stay far away from that wacko
In the kitchen peeling spuds, Cinderella heard the thuds. Of bouncing heads upon the floor, and poked her own head around the door.
thats a bit ott
here here fran
I've just read a novel about serial killer today - and now this !!!
Careful Cindy
This is DEFINETLY the alternative version of Cinderella........nonetheless excellent!
lol lynxx
"What's all the rakcet?" Cindy cried. "Mind your own bizz," the Prince replied. Poor Cindy's heart was torn to shreds. My Prince! she thought. He chops off heads!
aha, clever girl!
Good girl! Shes not just a blonde
How could I marry anyone who does that sort of thing for fun!
The Prince cried, "Who's this dirty slut? Off with her nut! Off with her nut!"
this is hysterical!
stupid man!
Throw the potatos at him Cincy
run cindy, run!
*Cindy
Just then in a blaze of light, the Magic Fairy hove in sight, Her Magice Wand went swoosh and swish! "Cindy!" she cried. "Come make a wish! Wish anything and have no doubt that I will make it come about!"
where's that fairy when you need her!
Now what will she wish for?
hope that price r4/4 in hell!
Cindy answered, "Oh kind Fairy, this time I shall be more wary. No more Princes, no more money... I have had my taste of honey. I'm wishing for a decent man, they're hard to find. D'you think you can?"
*prince
Now I thought she would be charitable and wish for the sisters heads to be put back on.
hhahahah - would you angb?
me too Angb....lol
Withing a minute, Cinderella was married to a lovely feller, A simple Jam-Maker by trade, who sold good home-made marmalade. Their house was filled with smiles and laughter, and they were happy ever after!
The end!!
ah!
Bravo!!!

Hi all on this stormy Hogmanay. Hope this rotten weather doesn't cancel Edinburgh's party... or anyone else's of course. Just dabbling while my husband sleeps off last night's footy and beer! Happy New Year to the Aussies!!
ok... you all ready for story number 2?? Jack and the Bean Stalk!
Oh Yes please!
hiya lizmac!
Jack and The Beanstalk - revolting rhymes Jack's mother said, "We're stony broke!" Go out and find some wealthy bloke who'll buy our cow... just say she's sound, and worth at least a hundred pound.
But don't you dare to let him know that she's as old as billy-o"
Jack led the old brown cow away and came back later in the day. And said, "Oh mumsie dear, guess what your clever little by has got I got, I really don't know how, A super trade-in for our cow!"
clue for the tr please
opps that was the tr 6 please
The mother said, "You little creep, I'll bet you sold her much too cheap!" When Jack produced one lousy bean, his startled mother, turning green, leaped high up in the air and cried, "I'M ABSOLUTELY STUPIFIED!"
Uh-Oh....
You crazy boy! D'you really mean you sold our Daisy for a bean??
add the 25 letter to the tr5
*25th even
a usual ending on the tr 5/10 herin
She snatched the bean, she yelled, "You chump!" and flung it on the rubbish dump.
Then summoning up all her power, she beat the boy for half an hour... using (and nothing could be meaner) the handle of a vacuum cleaner
At ten p.m. or there about, the little bean began to sprout. My morning it had grown so tall you couldn't see the top at all
nope not a clue
Young Jack cried, "MUM, admit it now! It's better than a rotten cow!
tr 5 is what females wear a dr***, change first letter
i need the tr 6 please
The mother said, "You lunatic! Where are the beans that I can pick? There's not one bean, it's bare as bare!" "No NO!" cried Jack, "Look up there! Look very high and you'll behold each single leaf is solid gold!"
on the tr 5 and an ending - the last half vowel type letter thing
By gollikins, the boy was right! Now, glistening in the morning light, the mother actually perceives a mass of lovely golden leaves! She yells out loud, "MY SAINTED SOULS! I'll sell the mini and buy a Rolls! Don't stand a gape you little clot! Get up there quick and grab the lot!"
its not working
Happy new year to you folks on the other side of the world whose dates have already changed.
tr5 + the 25th letter of the alphabet
use the t in the most left column, second row
there are 2 tr5/10s - have you got the 1st one?
Jack was nimble, Jack was keen. He scrabled up the mighty bean. Up he went without a stop, but just as he was near the top... A ghastly frightening thing occured - Not far above his head he hear A big deep voice, a rumbling thing that made the very heavens ring
herin - long hair is often called the plural of the tr5 (not in grid) just add the 25th letter
got it i was looking at something else thank you?
tr 6/24 hair dangling +25 letter
Hark hark the dogs do bark The duke is fond of kittens He likes to take their insides out And use their fur for mittens.
It shouted loud, "FE FI FO FUM, I SMELL THE BLOOD OF AN ENGLISHMAN!" Jack was frightened, Jack was quick and down he climbed in half a tick!
matty is that p/c
Woo hooo firewords
Little Willy with a taste for gore Nailed his sister to the door Mother said with humour quaint "Willy dear, you'll spoil the paint!"
well done herin!
matty - did you inspire r dahl or something?
"Oh Mum!" he gasped."Believe you me there's something nasty up our tree! I saw him mum! my gizzard froze! A Giant with a clever nose!"
The first one (the dogs) comes from James Thurbers' "The Thirteen Clocks" - great book
My mother told me the other. I have more.
lol!
Um how many words
good place for sister ,but nailed with what !!
Weep for little Willy, Little Willy is no more. What he thought was H2O, Was H2SO4.
"A clever nose?" his mother hissed. "You must be going round the twist!" "He smelled me out, I swear it mum! He said he smelled an Englishman!"
The mother said, "And well he might. I've told you every single night! To take a bath because you smell, but would you do it? WOULD YOU HELL!
You even make your mother shrink, because of your unholy sink!"
90 words
damn i have 89 words
Jack answered, "Well, if you're so clean... why don't you climb the crazy bean?"
The mother cried, "By gad, I will! There's life within the old dog still!" She hitched her skirts above her knee and disappeared right up the tree.
Gutmen should so be a word. We have many in the local pub.
Now would the Giant smell his mum? Jack listened for the fee-fo-fum. He gazed aloft. He wondered when the dreaded words would come.... And then... from somewhere high above the ground... there came the frightful crunching sound He heard the Giant mutter twice, "By Gosh! that tasted mighty nice.... Although (and this in grumpy tones) I wish athere weren't so many bones"
"By christopher!" Jack cried. "By gum! The Giant's eaten up my mum!" He smelled her out! She's in his belly! I had a hunch that she was smelly!"
ack stood there gazing longingly, upon the huge and golden tree. He murmured softly, "Golly-gosh, I guess I'll have to take a wash... if I am going to climb this tree, without the Giant smelling me. In fact a bath's my only hope...." He rushed indoors and grabbed the soap
scrubbed his body everywhere. He even washed and rinsed his hair. He did his teeth, he blew his nos And went out smelling like a rose
Once more he climbed the might bean. The Giant sat there, gross, obscene, Muttering through his vicious teeth (While Jack sat tensely just beneath) Muttering loud, "FEE FI FO FUM, RIGHT NOW i CAN'T SMELL ANYONE!"
Jack waited till the Giant slept, then out along the boughs he crept And gathered so much gold, I swear he was an instant millionaire!

i think so, une..... it would probably be as follows: (in no particular order)...... Superman Returns V For Vendetta Ice Age 2 Casino Royale Pirates 2 Slither The Prestige Pan's Labyrinth X-Men 3 Mission:Impossible 3
Just reposted the list in full.....
Pan's Labyrinth opens here next week at our "arts" theatre and am planning on seeing it

in fact, i think there's only one of his movies i haven't seen, and that is "The Devil's Backbone".......
also really liked The Dying Gaul . . .
of course, I'll see anything with Campbell Scott, Edward Norton, and Christian Bale
i'll see anything that is directed by either del Toro, Peter Jackson, or Quentin Tarantino.......

fireworks for me. Missed yesterdays watching mighty blues batter the toon army
broony, as long as you're a supporter of the blue half of Manchester, you're alright in my book.......

I can't stand the way Liverpool supporters are always moaning.....they should try being without players of the calibre of Terry, Cole & Cech for a while.....
You don't want to get me on the subject of the red ***** They always get away with murder - literally - but it's never their fault - always the victims. Most bad things that have happened to Everton have been caused by that lot. Of course when your chairman is also in charge of Sky Sports football money......say no more

Babble Rabble, I used the last part of your bio in a HR presentation on Thursday. Cited Plato. But.. for the last quote. But to cite "Babble Rabble" for the candle quote seemed....counterproductive to the flow of the presentation so I cited it "unknown". hahahaha . never thought I'd quote babble for work. 2 worlds colliding
happy new year smooth and m ovieman!
good job movieman!
Way to go, movieman!
Yahoo movieman!
Funny story, smaller!

smaller, I believe the candle quote belongs to Adlai Stevenson....he said that in his eulogy for Eleanor Roosevelt at her funeral services
Unfortunately, there aren't enough points for my 1000,000.......never mind......

That's it, MM.TY
co 5 --- plural of the 4 - apple center
not the cupboard-L, or the centre one, or the dove houses, the other one!

Hi, Ata. He's still all bunged up. Unfortunately, rabbits don't know how to blow their no5/10. I'm having to wipe it for him.

Hello Babblers, HNY!
Hi Relarion Happy New Year
HNY, relarion
That sounds fun Faerie. We are just staying home with the kids, playing Uno and Taboo, making smore. Seemed fitting for the first year in our own house to be here as a family.
wow!!! was I being thick or what??? I have it now thank you all.
Hi BR & Faerie. Nice light grid, 18 before breakfast :=)
BV that sounds like a wonderful plan. I'm sure it will make the New Year very special :)
wtg, mo.
By making smore, I meant smores. It wasn't slang for making more s'more babies...
BV it is a black tie event...so I'm anxious to get my boys all dressed up and smelling good and hopefully they will be nice and god willing no seizures for any of them
I did wonder, bunny.
hahahah BV
faerie are you a nurse or a direct care workerAAA?
Direct Care worker Wurdy
forget the AAA dont know where that came from
I bet it'll be a blast. Give em something to do besides watch TV.
My sister is a direct care worker. My brother is downs. You do a very important job for very little pay.
no kidding and get them out of the house
ok, can someone tell me exactly what smores are? We don't have 'em here ...
I love my guys they are awesome I have one that calls me Mama :)
I lived in england for a year and was SHOCKED that they didn't know what smores were
Ohhh, you're missin' out! Roasdted marshmellows over a fire between two grahm crackers and some Hershey's chocolate. Yuuum!
my sis tries real hard not to get too close...that can be hard when they pass
I send care packages now with marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolate, and directions on how to build a smore
but he hit his Mama (me) last night so hard it knocked the breath out of me .. not to be mean but because he was excited
That is so sweet, Faerie. :)
I need a clue for both K words
ok, next question *grins* whats a Graham cracker?
Oh Wurdy it is very hard not to become too attached.
k + mineral o**; k + green stuff on rocks m***
koil
I'm getting you a plain ticket, you've been deprived :) Sweet crackers, usually honey grahm. They use em for pie crust too.
I can imagine. I know with just my brother and his friends I see downs kids in the store and just want to scoop them up and love them
ACH! sorry
kind of like digestives, but thinner and rectangular
k + mineral or4, minus S
ah ok, ty K.E! I'm now trying to work out how to do a UK equivalent!
I do it once a day, Stubby ;) Done cadging clues for now, bbl, good luck
I need a clue for both E words in the bottom left corner and in the right corner
ey4 = homonym for airy
Smoosh a roasted marshmallow bewteen two plain chocolate digestives???
ef4==small newts
yep I have one with downs and he gives me a hug and a kiss everyday when I come in and I got to his bed for a hug before I leave of a night
K. Elisabet...go to the Yorkshire Riding Centre and make them share their next care package :)
marshmallow between two sweet crackers, put piece of chocolate in the sandwich to melt
I need to get showered now so everyone have a safe and Happy New Year :)
No, roast the marshmallow, then make a sandwich with piece of chocolate on 2 Graham crackers.

en5/14...where you go in.
Bye Faerie, have a great time at the dance!
ooooooooo chocolate digestives! yes, there's a thought! now to work out how to toast the marshmallow ... *grins* ...
Headache starting---must take a break......BBL
THANKS
**sprinkle** **sprinkle** **sprinkle**
Chocolate digestives? I'm assuming that isn't the chocolate flavored ex-lax?
I've been known to roast marshmallows over the gas rangetop... my in-laws pop them in the oven but that'snot as fun
Bye Scrabbler.
in the oven? don't think stick madly to baking trays etc? I think mine would
hi, all
Hi Pam.
lol NO bunny! they are yummy sweet biscuits
never tried it myself - maybe they put it under the broiler, the bottoms wouldn't stick so much then
hi, bunny
ok, I need to work this out. I'll ask my mother. She knows everything.
Shoot, you could probably brown the outside quickly with a lighter, just for the sake of experimenting :) But, if anything catches fire, I didn't say that.
We used to make s'mores on camping trips. They are best made over an open fire. Here's a link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S'more
argh why I am even considering this, I'm going on a diet tomorrow!
I make the kids treats sometime putting marshmallow cream between the crackers, then melting chocolate and dunking the sandwiches. My husbands co - workers like those when I sent goody baskets.
lol, atalanta=e
It's not tomorrow yeeeeett....
*atalante... sorry about the typing!
but I have no marshmallows here today!
te7 & te8 please?
They sell em at every corner store here. Diet Schmiet, I like my big bottom!
tess
lol, bunny!
corner stores closed here!
Atalante said a WOOORD!
poooooo! bunny did first though!
I've brainstormed, you're just SOL. Gonna have to break the diet when the stores open up. It's in the name of breaking cultural barriers, a good cause.
:)
She made me, coaxed it right outta me!
Got the te7 & 8, was looking at upper left instead of lower right
te 8 -- doublemint *** + a heated argu****
one shortcut way to make Smores (particularly in Europe) is to buy the Lu brand cookies, the Le Petit Ecolier ones and just put a marshmallow on top and add another cookie. Instant smore...and yummy!
so while we are on the subject, how about cornbread - do you have that over there? My French neighbors had never encountered it before I made some for them
good afternoon everybody:)
wait - marshmallows are pretty fat free aren't they? chocolate's essential anyway, and a biscuit can't have *that* many calories, surely?
hi, jean
mmmm... cornbread...
mmmm... cornbread...
got the te8, thanks!
Hello, jean, and HNY
its very rare, but I have seen it here
(Hmm. Wonder why that double-posted?)
Yeah, just keep telling yourself that.

Do Jabba's little pig faced guards have a name? Someone asked my husband and he's been scouring the internet, I told him you or Hursh would know.
Gamorean guards, is my guess.
eeks, it's noon here and I have to run out before my ootball pals get here. cya later!
Gamorreans
Bye Pam, Happy New YEar!!
How do you play ootball, Pam???
ok, I probably spelt that wrong!
WOW, if I tell him ya'll are such experts, I'll never get to babble again. He'll be in here all day talking Jedi. TY
brb
we rock, vi :)
The only way to know spellings is to read the novelizations or other tie-in stuff, which I never do.
smugly: Yes we do, Ata. But then, we knew that. ;)
that spelling I only know from husband's lego SW playstation game!
Then your version must be right.
if you can take lego games as correct LOL

Lego's bound to be at leats as reliable as Enable!

Jabba the Hutt was known to use dim-witted Gamorreans as enforcers and bodyguards.
They were certainly weak-minded enough to be susceptible to Jedi mind tricks!
I am cutting out again; know nothing about Jabba and Gamorreans
not a subject one really wants to specialise in, Inge!
Oh, I am being notified that I must wash my hands because it's lunch-time. I'll be back for the last few later. Happy New Year, all!
Well, Happy New Year to all when it comes!! It looks like it might be eventful....gale force winds, 2 bits of house already on their way to Ireland (Haz - look out for my flue cover would you) Hogmanay parties cancelled all over the country. We were planning on staying anyway (if we have a roof that is!)
So HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

The te 7 is well developed and ends in a long thin strongly-curved uncus. Usually the shoulders of the te 7 (the areas on each side of the base of the uncus) are produced into a pair of processes, which may be long and sharp or short and rounded; frequently these bear a patch of stiff spines.

if you go to friends of babble, bottom left corner, there's a link called lickety's babble clues
What was the word total again please?
90
Thank ye.
i am trapped in to hell -- 6 to go and they are all to words and I CAN'T FIND THEM ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
thanks feather..now how the heck do i translate ?? i dont understand the clues!
bah humbug. who knew that emeutes had that extra e in it?
ro6/18 means the first two letters are ro, it's a 6 letter word, and worth 18 points
*emeute. emeutes certainly wouldn't be here.
Each tile has a point value. To determine the score for a word, the point-value for the length of the word is multiplied by the total letter values for the word: 4-letter word = 1 x Points 5-letter word = 2 x Points 6-letter word = 3 x Points 7-letter word = 4 x Points 8-letter word = 5 x Points 9-letter word = 6 x Points
The ey 4/8 was a new word for me. Cool.
found my way thru the t's and I am done!!!
yay knitter!

yeah, one is like darkened bread without the a, and the other is to to** that load, carry etc
Mundy, that sounds like it may be it but I don't understand the clue...
tea & toa**
I have that one...it is between the bread and the bag...
im missing a co5/12 have the one that is the centre of the earth, the alt spelling of coats and the one that sounds like a closet but someone please help me find the last co5 i only have 7 words to find.
There are 9 to 4's and i have eight..
Hi Pinkhatlil, sorry but I have the same ones as you
it is between the bread and the bag...
like a briefca**, change the a, add plural
Buttonman, there is nothing between the bread and the bag
Buttonman, I have 9 to 4's but none between the bread and the bag
do you want a run down of mine?
let me look back and check
okay
the msg posted at 5:31pm is that clue for me pida1?
Mom, it is the 4/4 between the two 5/10's
the legal word, Button?
got it --
PAM, i don't get it...i just have a block on this one
use the to 5/10 and minus the e
the pie without the vowel on the end
rhymes with an s 4/4
the second to 5/10
take the dessert, and drop the e
Buttonman, did you get it?
i don't have that 5/10
okay - so you have the one to 4/4 that means rip
MOM no...i feel stupid....
oh don't feel stupid, there is no need for that
ok, so there is a to 4/4 that means rip, rhymes with the so 4/4 meaning achy
GOT IT..the rymes did it.
good deal
yay, button!!!!!
any clues on so6,24
thanks
:)
have company so will come back later...happy new year to all of you....be careful and safe
just as long as you don't feel stupid--no need for that here!!!!
happy to you, too, buttonman
so+consonant+males
Happy New Year to you as well Buttonman. I second Pam's sentiments
thanks
yw
hi, relarion
Hi Pam!
Speaking of feeling silly ... any clues on co 5,12 (not the one that rhymes with feeling achy)?
sounds like what you wear when it is cold but spelled differently
pural of the co4/5
Thx mom, have that one, but not the one after that.
Oh Kangabrat, I'm sorry.
I don't have any others
dang
There is one that's like the feeling-achy but with different 3rd letter. That one?
change the middle consonant--the C*** dazur
then plural
d"azur
sorry, got to go to the kids ... back with thinking hat on in a minute
I am lost Relarion and Pam. Not getting the clues
Which, Mom? We can re-clue
rhymes with the to 4/4 that is a sac
then, plural
I got it! Thanks Relarion and Pam. (There are two that are like the feeling achy with a different 3rd letter.)
Kangabrat was looking for the co 5/12 and I didn't have it either.
There's another co 5.12 that ends in "a matched ***"
yw
Pam, that one I have but Kangabrat said there is one after that. That is the one I don't have
Or, old-time undergarment, once made of whalebone, take out the "r."
good clue!
i always double the consonant and go for the 6, forgetting the 5...
thx ;)
I didn't have that co Relarion
I think it is the achy feeling one I don't have
Lies between c**** (rhymes with achy feeling) and c**** (rhymes with bags). Just the middle consonant changing.
I guess I have it then
Mom, for achy-feeling one you can also pluralize the middle of an apple, the co** (which is co 4.5)
sorry to confuse everything!
I have two co/5s both are plurals 1 is drills i pens
Thank you so much Relarion, Pam and Kangabrat. I have them now. Thanks to for the patience
It's tricky sometimes, Mom! When you've been startring at the grid for too long...
You didn't kangabrat. I am just a bit slow on the uptake this evening
isn't that the truth, relarion!!!
Getting desperate, only 5 to go!
That should have been "staring." Haven't broken open the mini-tequila yet either...
I have been starring at it far too long
Relarion, when you do open the mini-tequila have a swig for me. :)

Thanks for the clues Mundy and jas03001, but I have those words already. I need the first co 6/21 please.

te7 - te plus what holds the teeth in place. The ending is the last two letters of plural man.
Hi pinkhatlil! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
te8 - as te7 but ending with the same letter as the beginning of the word.

*prepared*
smooth - the packers needed a bunch of miracles to stay alive, right?
yeah, even before the game... they needed the giants to lose first... which they didn't so then they needed every team that they beat this year to win... which they didn't
so we are done after this one
i dont' know smooth - a lot of weird things happening today - like this sf-den game still on in ot --- who would have thought? esp IN den
I am going out for a drink. I will be back to finish this

lol smooth - i feel badly for favre - he's in the dan marino club now - no, not true, favre HAS a ring! dan doesn't - dolphins used to be my favorite team
enjoy yourself i think you may be paraletic (if thats how you spell it) when you get home
*smooth lucky hk is not a rabid bears fan* - talking fighting words there, lol
I hear ya HK... I (I know this sounds crazy) want him to retire... But I would love to see him take most TD passes from Marino first.
bye minver - be safe

Nice to finish out the year being able to finish a grid!
A good sentiment Minver.
i just stopped by & gotta give you some grief smooth - namath? with the jets? hahaha - yes & what a time that was - he promised a superbowl win even though they were huge underdogs & it happened - this was way before everyone & their mothers started promising victories left & right!
yayayayay, min!!!! Firewords!
HK, that was still a little before my time. lol by the way... how're the bears doing tonight? *glances around innocently*
yes, helen, and before he was revealed the lush we all knew he was, LOL
and also posed in pantyhose in a center spread - cosmo?, not sure - ah yes, those were the days
they are just resting for a half to give their opponents a sense of false hope - i know, i saw the game plan :)
HA!
LOLOLOLOL
Since I was the only one asking for clues,I assume no one else needs clues? In that case I'll let you continue your football talk w/no interruptions! Be back later!
yeah... that sense of false hope just carried ahman green inside the 10.
The Pack kicker shoulda' laid off the early celebrating.....
see ........ now they're getting really really hopeful!
Sorry Minver. Slow night for me. Not trying to chase anyone away!
bye min
i still need 9 words, but there's plenty of time

HA like the pack will fumble again?
Note the use of the word "again".....
finally, for the love of GOD!
Congratulations jas03001 on fireworks! Good for you

yay, sharon
dammit! bears have a HUGE fiurst down
INTERCEPTION!
another one?
wow
yup
yeah... that's the 5th bear turnover.
i've been watching and just popped up here right before it happened i guess
man! I f the packers can shut out the bears that would be Poetiv justice! The bears shut out GB at lambeau the 1st game of the saeson, and the pack returns the favor the last game of the season in chicago... that would be great!
yeah - too bad it can't change the playoffs though
yeah I know
but any game between GB and CHI is a good game
except or that shut out in sept.
as long as GB wins :)
i go back to game now, ttfn
first round of appetizers done - brie en crout - one with mushrooms, one with carmalized onions, & spanakopita - whew, reward: popped open the veuve clicquot
pass the brie, plese
i meant please
huh - i see bears still adhering to 1st half game plan - WAKE UP !!!!!!
*passes plates of brie* :)
delicious, hk - thanks!
it is warmer than fall here right now!
carmalized onion? sounds fantastic!
why, ty ping, please, have more
i must remember to get your recipe on a less hectic evening
i wish i could say homemade - yeah, right - hahahahaha - but from costco & they're really excellent - i am pleased
lol
wow, yummy appetizers, helen!!!!!!
I was just about to say that I've never made it myself. lol
this is how we celebrate 'amateur night' - stay in, graze on appetizers all evening, usually watch a movie - but this riveting bears game is on :(
I'm sick with envy of everyone who lives near a Costco...
did someone say Veuve and brie?
I'm in!
hiya chic!
Hi chic!
well relarion - NO SYMPATHY from me - i've been to half moon bay - ya gots nuthin' to complain about!!!!
i've never heard of costco.... no that's not true, but I've never been to one
Hi Helen!
Hi Helen!
Hi Relarion!
Ooh, ouch, hk ;)
hi chic and relarion
Hey Ping
awwww, poor relarion, lives in one of the most gorgeous parts of the country, right on the ocean, with fabuloous little art shops - so sad - boo-hoo
relarion, do you know a baker from half moon bay named susan morgan?
TOUCHDOWN BEARS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's getting really crowded! There's rampant littering!
and there goes the shutout. :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
It's time for me to go watch our Rock concert that Bob found; it's John Mayer "Continuum" in NYC
Pappa, no I don't.
relarion, your icon is cool - where did you get it?
ok... my company sells her cakes...
yes, but not the win, smooth!!!!
uh - more like there's rampant beauty - even just getting there is relaxing
"2001 - a Space Odyssey." I thought the baby, for the new year, y'know...
chic - that sounds nice!
enjy, chic!
i meant enjoy
Pappa, I'll keep an eye out. Maybe she sells to local retailers. There are a few bakeries on Main Street.
here relarion: http://www.elegantcheesecakes.com/
Ah! I see. It's in Princeton, right down the hill from us. I'm going to check it out.
Thanks for the tip, Smooth Pappa.
what are the first 2 letters of the 8 please?
TE ping... it' a plural
no prob rel
thanks, pappa
got it, thanks again
yup
i'm sorry, it wasn't a plural... but it was based on the TE 7. lol
firewords! and thanks smooth for the clues! hi everyone!
I'm way too focused on the packers rigght now
wtg lbd!!!!
hi Dawg! :) all you need is to ask. lol
didn't need to, everyone else asked for them! :-)
lol
hi lb, good going!
Hi relarion
Hi ping
wd lbd !
smooth - i just checked out that cheesecake site - they're just gorgeous (the first one i clicked on - $1,000 - "CLEAR!") - what is it you do?
Hi HK
I sell retail art... we carry only two artists ion food... her and a choclatier... www.guild.com
lbd - very nice sentiment in your profile :)
Yes lb, I echo that sentiment too.
yes, lbd, that is a nice sentiment!
have you eaten the $1000 cheesecake, pappa?
we did have one at an office party... i don't know what it sells for though... ddefinitely not 1000
thanks, if only praying was all that was needed to achieve that goal. *sgh*
this is the one I ate:
http://www.guild.com/artitem/36716.htm l
I've been thinking about devouring an extravagantly designed cheesecake, ever since looking at those pictures and reading the descriptions of the fillings 15 minutes ago...
lol
INTERCEPTION!
1st ro4?
they say most cravings only last 10 minutes, but I, for one, do not believe it
hi everyone
UGH - this better not be how they're preparing for the playoffs !
ro4 learning through memorization
lol, helen
Hi Luwanda
1st ro 4, like large pebbles but with no "k."
ty
monkeys are at new years eve party
yw
Don't let them drive, Lu.
sorry, lu, i clued the wrong one
relarion - i gotta agree with you, just finished reading about the one smooth ate
so smooth - did it taste as good as it looks?
I gotta tell you... I'm not ahuge cake fan... but I ate $300 cake, and I did like it. :)
Yeah, Helen. Knowing she's just a hike from our house...
smooth, where did you get $300 cake?
yeah i know what you mean - i went to a wedding at the plaza in ny - 375/plate, but it was the best damn wedding food i ever ate!
from my company...we sell art, but we do have 2 food artisans... www.guild.com
or http://www.guild.com/artitem/36716.htm l
happy new year to anyone in Atlantic time xzone!
Mm, wedding food at the Plaza.
smooth - uh - i think they still have an hour to go
that's way too rich for me...and my pocketbook!
I have m job interview for shipping coordinater at my compnay on thursday!
no... that's eastern time... it's 11:00 eastern... 12:00 atlantic... the atlantic candian provinces
smooth, i love your icon. i play with phoography.
yes - they even had to hold dinner cause the bride's grandfather had what they thought was a heart attack at the start of the reception - turned out to be okay - but had to wait for the paramedics, etc- thank god they had ordered tons of appetizers
thanks luanda! take a look at my website! you'll find the address in my profile
Wow, HK.
ok smooth - thanks for the geography lesson :)
lol
i'm ALL about geography. lol
but the dinner was still great!
of course, the couple is now divorced, lol - but the memories are great!
lol
i have some cool pix. of silversword. i took in hawaii and others in my house. when i grow up and give up teaching i might try it professionally. have taken some classes
I think big weddings can be bad luck. My husband and I got married on the cheap, on a drunken whim.
gonna fix ned round of appetizers, bbl
LOL relarion - that's funny
i've never had a class luwnda, but I did help teach one in college
Bye aLso til flip or next year, nice chatting!

bye relarion, HK< etc
Happy, Happy!
Have a great rest of the night all.

See you all tomorrow........
bye pam!
happy new year pam
luwanda... on tueday, I'll be getting my 7-300mm lens. :)
Happy New Year Pam!
Bye Relarion
cool! i just started experimenting with digital cameras
I have had my Rebel XT for about a year... before that I used a canon AE-1, and a medium format mamiya 645... the rebel has revolutionized my photography
and that should be 70-300
oooh weddings...they can be awful to do! the guy that did my son's wedding was more interested in hitting on the bride's maids than taking good pics. We got better ones from the spectators and the cheapo cameras left on the tables at the reception.
HA!
if I take home bridsemaid, that';s just a bonus. lol
is your southwest icon from zion?
Fireworks in 1 hour - was his an easy one for New Year?
Good evening everyone!
hello woulf
hi anike and woulf

Things are pretty good here as well -- Eagles are in, Dallas is out and I have almost finished the grid
I've got tons of great pics from zon, but I need to rescan the negs to make them selable
how do you copywrtie your stuff?
I was able to find most of my words in the past 45 mins but I still have 2 that are eluding me -- the so6/24 and the no6/21 -- help please?
luwanda, photographs are automatically copyrighted from the time of creation until 70 years. I add the watermark in photosho
no6/21 smelling organ-e + clock sound
umm guys i have a really strange problem
thanks Lu
life is a strange problem, rebel
lol
i have 2 words that are the same thing...i have 2 'sort' on my babble list
too true, Lu
Dallas is still in; they play at Seattle next week
luwanda: the copywrite laws do change for commercial use... not selling as art, but using for commercial or advertisement use
refresh, rebel666 -- that should fix it
ro6/18?
thanks for the correction, DRB -- I really don't follow sports so I presumed based on incomplete info
Hey woulfie!
q -- u r-- hey, lbd -- y - if you see random letters -h- my daughter - -e-- helping me type
and luwanda, if you're worried, submit a cd of images to the US copyrite office, with a fee ($45 maybe) and it will be much easier to collect in lawsuits if need be
ty grew woulf
9 of the 12 playoff teams won today, which is unusual since most of them bench their stars
123456 -- we are letting her stay up to watch the ball drop
does anyone know the bronco score?
