that reminds me, I need to put spam on the next grocery list
I like mine smathered in mayo
oops I hope smathered isn't in the grid ( :
on white bread is best, but wheat/mulit-grain is acceptable too
growing up my maw could feed a family of 8 on a can of spam...the woman had talent :o)
have to have mayo though
lol nonnie
I like white bread too, I have to be starving to use wheat anything lol
spam, mayo, mashed potatoes and onions on white bread (lightly toasted white bread)
I can hear arteries clogging all over babble land ( :
back, brownies are cooling off
mmm ml, that sounds good
wb, brownies with whole milk for dessert!
mine are very basic, fried spam on white bread with tabasco.
that's good too, but ya have to have mayo
I can'
oops can't have tabasco anything
spam or mayo killed the lining of my stomach, or maybe it is the whiskey ( :

Hi her
'bye gramma, Fran......... HNY
hi Ang
see ya fran - hope you survive the nite
how are we
Hi metal
im finding just randomly adding words is really helping
Less stress that way her - and a fresh way of looking each time
funy thing is in i have 27 words and ive just started
Mind you ... this one is BIG
Not to put you off of course ...
How was your New Year her?
Yawn not exciting i was asleep by 1230am going hard core
Oh no ... age catching up or was it lack of stimulus?
im only 29 i was being lazy
OK - mine excuse is age ... though celebrating a new year seems nonsensical to me ... today seems a lot like yesterday Bah Humbug
My bestest friend is os at the mo so i kinda had no one to talk to as it was the guys and one other girl that i dont really know
That's a pity - well there will certainly be other new years to see in - in 351 (?) days in fact
351?
um she may be os permantly by then
I can't remember - how many days in a year?
365
i dont know either ang
Thnx metal
unless it's a leap year
thats right
all comes back to me now ... LOL
i thikn the boys are hungry since we have eaten junk food all day
how many in words are there please
then let the boys cook
That's nice for them - do they cook?
363
sorry
gave the whole total
hi all--happy new year!
ang its my turn
hapy new year nat
um, 14 eight letter words? yuck.
Oh - OK - I'm all for turns
HNY Nat
hi Nat, HNY
how many un words are there as im sick of looking out the un bit
I have 3 already - and the starting letters for others when I feel like looking so may not be so bad nat
herin, what do you have available to work with, to prepare?
that's good to know, angb
I have already bought the stuff, youd think there is an apocolyps as the fridge has food in it
its tuscan meatballs and spegetti
lol, stocked up in case the shops closed for the holiday?
yep
sounds good... heat it up and let the boys stuff themselves full
im getting hungry too but i cant be bothere
Then turn a good movie on and they will be quiet for an hour or two
Um i am on my laptop my boys on his and the housemate is on the playstation as is all day
Sounds like many households. My 2 boys are watching a Pokemon video, their father is reading a book in bed as he has been doing all day, and I am in my office on the desktop ... normal
my boy spoilt me on saturday and bought me lots of late christmas stuff
Ang im still in my phs
Nive - what did you get?
*nice
PJ's did you mean?
What do you call a person who decorates a cake and why is it not valid?
um he took me to TGIS for lunch then we walked around went in to the city and he bought me American Gothic the DVD Ultraviolent tele series and Playboy the Mansion gold edtion for the Pc then we went to tea and a Japanese place Banquet which was yummy
Yes i mean pjs
I call them a decorater
a cake decorater
Well you were spoilt. It was too hot eating dinner tonite, so I am sitting here in tshirt and undies
but, I think the I word should be valid also
We i** cakes here
Which is probably silly when you think about it
they do the same here, but the person is called the other word
happy new year
im in shorts and tshirt here but still my jammas
I am a spoilt little being
I suppose you are right metal now I think about it.
HNY MVA
hi MVA, HNY
good nite everyone & best wishes for a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Nite helen. HNY

nite helen, HNY
Happy new year back
happy new year everyone
HI Andree - HNY
hi Andree, HNY
had all my kids and grandkids for lunch, 14 in all, they only just left its 6.30pm, so tired do I really want to start this grid
um does anyone know how many times the un combo is used
hi andree HNY
Join us for a chat at least Andree - and see if you can find a few words while youre here.
No list yet her
You obviously have had a busy NY Day andree
oh i thought someone with stats might be able to help, i must clear my debts and get stats
will start but too long for me to get far, no hope as tomorrow is beg. of month and invoicing is on the menu
un is used at least three times herin. that is to say, I've found three words using the un thus far.
Oh yuck Andree - I must pay the bills which I started a couple of days ... but its such a downer
363! Happy New Year us!
I have 6 and a possible 8 - there are 2 words I have no idea what they mean
mmmmm i have to find money to pay bills
hi ATA
HNY Ata
it was lovely angb as my son, daughter in law and 3 grandchildren arrived on 30th home for good after 13 years overseas
hi ata!
That is wonderful andree. Where have they been?
i have 5 un words - 2 x 6, and 3 x 5
is there any ph words im only asking i keep looking at it
ey dez and ta
I have a un7
oh deer
There is a 8 un, I have 3 5s and 3 6s, and a 7
new york, singapore[ grandchildren all born there] then back here for a year then japan then singapore again
coool i knew my nerdiness would pay off i just foun
What a wonderful experience for them. What does your son do?
he is a foreign exchange dealer
So he can work anywhere ... back for good do you think?
he has to go back to singapore end Jan for a couple of months to finish up
right ill be back i have to feed myself and them
I hope so but the last time they came back they goy an offer they could not refuse and went to japan
he'd like my husband then - he works on the maths models behind fx trading programmes :)
is he a maths addict too atalante
oh nooooooooo LOL I pity his wife then :) My husband talks in maths 24 hours a day
we were playing cleudo this afternoon and both my sons were sitting there doing charts on everyones answer !!!
my Christmas Eve was spent making drinks and food and taking it down to husband and best friend who were studying complex equations for FUN!
Oh heavens ... Ata that is just awful.
sure he is not related to my boys atal
lol
I think he probably is!
Do maths people do spontaneous things?
when the boys were young I thought it great a math is the only subject you can get 100% in
well, it is 2 am here so I must be off to bed.
bye natasha
see ya Nat
'night Natasha, Happy New Year
only if it involves polynomial equations Angb LOL
Whoa ...
not really angb
oooh, polynomials are fun
There are 46 P
and math nerds are almost always musical
in the middle
paice
nothing quite like a good 2b to the fourth + 9a X 7c cubed
sorry
have 2 words ,lol
Now that is nice I must admit ... I was good at maths and music ... until they started putting letters instead of numbers into equations
argh!
Can you get the fish tho Andree
Thnx for at least 3 words there andree
dohs, glam and spam should be allowed
tried them too, andree!
I even tried Macbeth's residence
this doesn't seem like a 363 grid ....
Oh I don't know Ata - I've found lots of words ... but still seem to have heaps left to find
hello everyone. it doesn't does it Atal. BBL to see if I can hold out to halfway before getting list
I have only 168 found
its obviously just me being incompetent then :)
its obviously just me being incompetent then :)
at least dinner is there
at least dinner is there peri
at least dinner is there
its obviously just me being incompetent then :)
at least dinner is there
sorry

HNY mcurlschool
hi mcurl, hny
on for just a sec, need to call son in Florida
Did you find pe** 4/5 is in the site today
OMG I've just noticed. *41* 7s!
mind-boggling, isn't it?
14 8's
I have 1 7 LOL
I have 23
Lots of hesitations on the end ata
Well done metal
I like to get half the words before I look at Lickety's list, but I've got a ways to go...
pure luck, and paying attention to what i've seen others mention in passing in the chat log
am putting hesitations on the end of every word just to see :)
I do that as well joy. I work thru the boxes and try to get more than half in each - concentrate on little goals
It's a little difficult when there are heaps of un and re
ex-wren will *hate* this grid
Sure will
yeh, hard to concentrate on the BIG goal with a puzzle this size...
How could there be 14 U's?
hello im part way back
No idea but I have found 8 un's
there's a ur6/21
I have found 1/2 of the p's as well now. Next!
From what language Ata?
i have found more 7s than 8s
definitely English! and an un6/7 combo that isn't an un- word
Found the body part ... thnx Ata
hello
Must go and put boys to bed - hi again her see you later
why am i getting more words not looking at the screen than looking at the screen and im monkeying half of the words
bye angb
bye angb
bye ANg
bye ang
bye Ang
omg...from the sublime to the rediculous...happy new year everyone
if you have the ur body part, extend it to get an 8
helo rolin
and to you rolin
and to you rolin
happy new year rolin
Rolin i have found most words by glancing at the screen and monkey tyoing
thx metal
how is it possible to un5/14
yw, and extend it again a diff. way for another 8
Thnx goodness back in time for your 8 clues thnx Mettal
mend maybe?
I agree flosey - logically impossible
uncet would be un5/14, if it were a word
when does logic make sense with enable?
You took the words out of my mouth ata
i have one un 5
does that help
have a look at the definition of that un5/14 .... interesting!
I have a UN 5/14...it's a compound word that seems to mean the same as it does with the UN
Yeh right ata - on which planet do they live? I'll just un5/14 my mail ... I don't think so
I mean without the UN.
It is odd.
Think it's the one we are talking about joy
hmm..this ur body part...whats the letter count pls?
yep, think so.
ur6/21
what's the point of adding a UN prefix to a word if its meaning stays the same?
who invented this weird language anyway?
and extend it, twice, to make two 8's
It's comes out of the bladder the ur ...
that's unsenseless
lol
lovely pic of the sky tower ang!
Yeh kier - best comment yet
good one kier
ty metal for ur
yw
there's a lovely sparkly sa8
i can't figger out the other ur 8/50
Ending sounds like you have been drinking champagne
the 8/50 ends up near the top of the grid
i think i have the champagne ending
Think of Mr Gore
i have ur 6/21 and ur 8/50, is there another ur 8?
ur8/45
AHHHHHH. thanks...
yw
ho7/40 - what a manic rabbit is ...
LOL Ata
any clues for the un8 words?
darned Energizer bunny
thanks at that was a great clue
ch 8/60 a manic butcher chasing the rabbit?
poor bunny!
the other ch8/60, what the rabbit is after the butcher gets through with him
sh7/40 - person who buys the bunny from the manic butcher
sl8/50 a worse eater
ty Atalante
hi7, what the final consumer is after eating the rabbit
and she who eats the rabbit could get hi7/40
thank you for the clues
The butcher only gets one leg from the bunny so the bunny is lo 7/36
ch8/60 more to go with the fish
then she might be a ch7/44 but she wouldn't be very ch7/44
sh7 - someone who gives the bunny from butcher to customer
and she might have to live on a gl7/40 even though her clothing was la6/21
Wouldn't she be cold?
ohhhh brrr!
probably so
And thnx metal
her voice could even become ra7/32 and she could no longer find work as a re7/32
yvw
She would end up being qu 7/40
qu5/16 qu7/40 even!
LOL
what couldn't she find work as ?
and she could no longer afford her re7/28 sp 7/36 abode. her children would be ru7/32 and she'd then become a mere sp7/36
I think she is an en 7/32
a re7/32 of poems, monologues and other wordy type things
ahhh TY
Certainly wouldn't fin her in the chruch ch 5/14
if she's gonna be a ch7/44 ch7/44, she'd better be
you might Ang...
i've been going all night and i only have 117 words. Stop the Insanity!
Us ?
however, it's all moot since if she ate the rabbit cooked improperly, she'd have problems with her en6/18, severe en7/28 or 7/32 problems
bad bunny!
probably served in as5/14
Yuck
If I don't get to bed, I'm going to be sprawled out over this computer sound asleep - thanks for clues - maybe they'll be easier in the morning
no sense paying the ca7/36 for that mess
Happy New Year to all and the best for 2007
'night flosey, rest well and HNY
Happy New Yea Flosey -
ty
nite Flosey
hny and nite flosey

And your Mundy - HNY
'night Mundy, rest well and HNY
nite mundy, hny
haha - it's already down to HNY huh? funny!
why isn't 'requit' a word?
nite mundy, I will go too and clean up my kitchen, back soon
cos you need to add a letter onto the end of it lol
add a letter kier
Cause it has an e on the end?
but, I do agree with you
thnx kier
no, like the earlier word... with the UN
sorry....
Ah ... sorry ...
my bad
Bit like Superman can't take off his ca 4/6
apparently "spam" does not qualify either...
yes i ant find this strange un word..something about ot senseless?
but he could take of a hat if he wore one
Odd really isn't it
boy i'm untired
are some of you overachievers already done??
lol..im a third thru
Haven't seen anyone go fireworks yet
not me, I still have 173 to go
195 here
175 left, but I'm taking a break now!
191 to go here - List in sight!
does anyone have any clues for the d's?
I have only one d
do4/5
only 1 d
do6.24 more senseless
i cant see why i cant have dohs
barbies missing something
ty lynxxx
many barbies with only one stick letter
ty all
I have more than half the words...time to go to bed
Nite joy - sleep well - HNY
going now, happy babbling, bbl, and Happy New Year!
See ya MVA - HNY
Bye Joy MVA
'night joy, MVA, rest well and happy new year
i don't get the barbie clue. @#%@#% I AM NOT AN IDIOT....
kier, what kind of toy is Barbie?
it's gonna be one of those nights where I dream about words
oh.
ca4/6 keirlex
I have do6/24 - dumber or more sedated
i find lamaze breathing especially helpful at times like these.
I find Bacardi 151 helpful at times like these.... but I no longer consume that type of beverage
metal you raise a good point. Salut!
lol Slainte
at least I think that's the spelling for it

awwwww
any fun traditions for anyone tomorrow?
none i"m going to observe
black eyed peas and greens down here in the south.
Any clues for the ca8? Oh, and Happy New Year. We just flipped 14 minutes ago.
does anyone have the un5/14
some folks include carrots too, sliced into rounds to represent coins
not the mend one
in that case rolin, no I don't
8.15 pm here, day is over, work tomorrow
hi mkl, and happy new year
i have 2 more days off
hi mkl - HNY!
i only have 6 u words..
i have carrot in the refrig i will try that tomorrow and see how the new year fares
do you use cabbage, or "greens" greens book?
turnip greens
for money?
yes
and the blackeyes for luck?
yes
blackeyes for getting beat up?
we always did blackeyes for luck, and sometimes cabbage for mnney, never heard of the greens until I moved here, and had only read about the carrots
nahh kier
ca8? Or any of the larger ce words?
*money, not mnney
no ca8 found by me mkl
or large ce's
so for this nonsouthern person, how do you cook the whole mess?
it varies... the blackeyed peas you cook like beans, the cabbage can be braised or steamed or boiled, the greens are boiled, the carrots are usually steamed or boiled
i just have two ch8 words
and you have to have cornbread to go with them
hi firefly
oh, you don't put it all together?
I have two also, but have a herd of c7's with different second letters
hi metal - guess no one saw me earlier, i just sort of butted in :)
no
not all in one pot kier
I"m sorry I missed you earlier
(firefly)
ohhh. i see. cool. we are having leftovers from our fabulous dinner tonight, we were at a friend's house, she is from Jordan and we had leg of lamb and hummus and all sorts of spicy goodness
my husband mixes it all together on his plate but I eat it seperately.
mmmmmmm hummus
any kibbe?
what about tabouleh?
i am not much for cooked greens, too many as a kid i think
I never cared all that much for cooked greens either
no tabouleh, no baba ganoush. but a GINORMOUS pan of baklava and now my hubby knows how to make it because he helped her cook all day!!
how do you season your greens book? ham? salt pork? bacon?
oh yummmmmmmm baklava
we had rack of lamb for dinner but no leftovers. i prefer my peas with rice not much for greens either. my husband will just eat beans and cornbread . season the green with apple smoked bacon.
I loooove Baklava!
my parents used to put white vinegar on their greens. SHUDDER
it helps cut the sometimes bitter taste greens can have kier... esp. if the vinegar is peppered
well gnite all and thanks for the conversation. Welcome to 2007! Babble on....
is anyone else finding the I's problematic tonight?
'night kier and HNY

MA6/30? between the female horse and the pulverize. Help please
te 6,24 please
phantom: macerate
Gramma - Uses the highest letter
TY
te 6,24 please
te6.24 te + g**** paper has horizontal and vertical lines on it
ty so much
oops, I already have that te 6, It's the very first one that I need.
te 6,24 followed by the te 7,36
te6.24 means cranky (I think) or a person who works in IT
I can see the first four letters of that then, but I don't know where to get the final two.
Merk You might use this browser
My son works for te** support, which is a te 4 not accepted. There is a word te** + a negative, but that can't be made in this grid.
Merk - think of a comparative ending for rosy and take off the final letter, that's the two letters you need to finish the word
What browser?
vowels - 3rd & 2nd
Internet explorer
Ah, ty
My son is a te 6 and is is te7 than I am . Right?
Correct.
PA7/40? after friends and before cut. please
I can't find the final sl 4 and I assume the sl 8,50 builds on it. clue for either, please.
sl4 - fed the pigs sl**
Oh duh, I always head out the wrong direction. ty
why is spam not allowable?
Originally spam would have been a trademark, I think.
Hi again. 127 left. Phantom = 'dolphin'.
Hello Jacula - did you enjoy Victoria Wood?
HI Jacula
ty haz1558
Hi Jac
Hi Haz & p/winkle. Yes, Haz, I enjoyed it very much.
Merk, do you have a clue for me? PA 7/40 please
Now want to read Nella West's diaries, if they are available.
morning 6a
I thought it was excellent as well. I'm pretty sure they are available, I looked up some websites after the programme. I had already read up about the Mass Observation exercise so it was nice to see it in action.
*meant Nella Last
I get an awful lot of spam on one of my e-mail accounts!
hi eva happy new year
Jacula - how would you have coped with 'Daddy'?
happy new year to you too. Really glad to be back in vermont
getting chilly up here-time to go and fill the stove. Back later
Haz - I was torn between wanting to hit 'Daddy' & feeling he needed therapy. How about you? (It was the sister-in-law who I disliked most.)
The sister-in-law was horrible. There was a softness underneath Daddy, but SHE was hard as nails.
Ah, just Googled for the diary. Published 1981, apparently. Edited version, as she wrote over 2 million words. She continued writing the diary until just before her death in 1968.
I have 4 of the 8's:mi8/55, re8/55,sa8/55and sl8/50, what do the other 8's start with pleae
Well, that diary will be something to spend my Christmas money on, apart from a new printer/scanner/photocopier. (Power unit in ours 'died' yesterday!)
I'm sure it would make interesting reading. I've just found a mantra for New Year DIeters - ch5/16 and ch5/16 won't give sl4/5 hi4/6. (On the book front, I'm looking forward to reading the second sequel to 44 Scotland Street)
peri - 2 x ch8's.
thanks Jacula
LOL, Haz.
hiya, everyone.......and happy new year!!!!
peri - pl8.
Though the ch5/16 have to be in the right order!

Hello and Happy New Year ... what a grid today!

Jac, can't fine the pl and un 8, clues please
Hi Mom. Happy New Year!
Hi Jacula, thank you and to you as well
G'd Morning Babblers! Happy New Year.
Hi Lori, Happy New Year
pl8 builds off pl/14, peri. It's like what you do for fun in water but without the first letter. You jump in and make a big s****!
Ha! just found the un8, thanks Jac
thanks jac, got the pl8 too
peri - un8 = to unmend. The 'mend' word is in the grid (6/21). Sounds like 'to couple up again'.
BBL. Happy Babbling!
Bye Jacula

Now you tell me Merk, I was just about to do the sp 7/36 after what you did at the mall

I need the sp 7 that's in the middle, between those two.
I have that sp also.

Happy New Year Inge2
OK, I got the sp 6 of the two. Let's dispense with this. Take the middle of the word and spell it differently. Change the s to a like sounding consonant.

You're welcome.
I cannot find the 1st QU word. Does it start w/the same 3 letters as the next one?

My great neice will be 3 in March and still isn't trained. My mother in law thinks this is terrible. How do people in other countries do it so early?
whipping
I think so Hurshy.
my mom and I had that discussion. She thinks that she was more potty trained than we were when we were young - we were trained by 18 months and she just constantly sat us on the toilet.
nice, hurshy!
:)
it just takes persistance and patience. Stay at home moms have a BIG benefit
In other countries (esp 3rd world) mothers use what is called "elimination communication"----kids are trained quite young this way--fascinating! Up intil the 1960's 95% of American kids were trained by 24 mo.
well, I stay at home and I have absolutely NO patience :)
Yeah, stay-at-home mothers have no patience because we have to deal with it ALL the time!
I stayed at home for 3 days a week and still we could not get him to sit on toilet, but something just clicked when he turned 3
hehe... I think it has more to do with the kids, in some ways... I have 6 kids, they all trained at different ages and in different ways
I have done some reading on "ec" and it is very interesting - I just don't have the patience or the werewithal to do it.
Ther is a child rearing "expert" in the US, John Rosemond who swears it's Dr, Spock trained parents who are inhibiting early toilet training. My kids were very will to take to potty training but some kids, just can't or won't
there are many as****s to potty training
tahnks, Al!
my daughter's problem was hubby that didn't really care to help out. We managed to get granddaughter trained without her even realising what she was doing----used a sticker chart and she got one everytime SHE went and two if she did it on her own
yw, working on the list now... graduated to the c's
Anyone have a clue for the ce 8?
stumped by ca 6.30.. anyone?

ci 6/27?
ty specificity.. great clue!
Re: potty training, Chinese friends have told me that some families there just never put diapers on the baby. They have wood or linoleum floors they can clean up, and then put the baby on the pot constantly. I have only one, I found the diapers more convenient in some ways. When he potty trained, I realized I would have to start taking him into gross public bathrooms whenever we were out. (He's 3 and some months now.)
just went to the list myself, 100 words left. I would be here all night if I didn't
code, bichon
Aloy: ca + third vowel + "*** sera, sera"
have you been to ci**** d'Oleil? Don't know how to spell it
got it, erda... ty
yw
ca 8?
When my son was a little over 2 he was telling us he had to go potty. I didn't want to put diapers on him again and we went to the circus. Of course he had to "go" I had to climb over rows and carry him and by the time we got to the bathroom, he had wet his pants. You better believe we weren't leaving
If started too late, potty training is a huge control issue.
Thanks BabbleRabble
Hurshy code?
ci6/27 is another word for a code

My oldest son was the hardest to potty train. I finally made him puzzles, starting with a four piece one. Every time he used the potty he got to glue on one puzzle piece. When he finished he got a Matchbox car. The next puzzle was more pieces, but it finally worked when nothing else had.

hard earned experience, faerie. you can grate a little ginger in right at the end too - natural antibiotic qualities. and if you're really desperate, a little raw garlic and cayenne pepper - tastes disgusting but works wonders.

Must be a sign to qu4. Keep trying words I put in earlier. So Happy New Year all--just over 50% today, so will give it hell tom'w!

in the words of tina turner what's love got to do with it? babble, i mean?
I didn't know you were that crazy about me, chj, but now I know. TY.
"peanut" is from the litter i was fostering a while back. the family who were going to take him backed out. i couldn't let him go eva - he was the runt of the litter, still only 2 pounds (at 3 months)
now cliff....
Oh, give him a kiss, cliff.
ai 5/14?
he loves kisses. and he loves to be in my lap. in fact, he is stretched across the bottom of my laptop while i am babbling :)
he looks a bit other worldly. I wish Merp would tolerate a kitten! But it just wouldn't be fair to do that to him at this stage in his life. He's so used to being the only center to our attention, and has never been the most stable cat on the block anyway.
ai5/14 ... a + what you need to scratch
Phonetic spelling for the letter H
*places fingers in ears* lalalaLAAAAAAAAAAA
TO are you shutting out the singing or the cat talk?
ty
i find i amweakening on the cat adoption front

oops
146 left...i hate large grids
That is how I ended up with 4 bunnies instead of staying with 1----went to 2 then 3 then 4, and the bedrooms are all full now.
the local Agway has a couple of cages by the cash registers and the animal shelter brings in adoptees....over the yeras they have found good homes for hundreds and hundreds of cats. I have the hardest time getting out of there.
So do I Jeff, but forge on.
cliff...we have a little girl cat that looks like your newest...she was tiny too (though not quite as much). She's now just hardly 6 pounds full grown. Her brother is 15 pounds...go figure! YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO OWL!
Hello again.
Hi gramma
hi gramma
my husband hates large grids (he's been left to fend for himself as I've toiled away)
my animals all adopted me, they asked the vet if they could have me...
hey gramma
TO-there's not such thing as "no cats"=only temporary catlessness
Does anyone have CE8/45? Could you clue me if you do? TY
I prefer < 150-170.
I agree Scrabbler
i'm hoping peanut gets bigger kristin, i have a 9 month old kitten (9 pounds) who is excited about having a brother, but he's a bit rough.

thanks eva...I'm about to have to give up for now...company coming but I will kick them out in time to finish later tonight...I must!
He was just reading an article about computer addiction.
stress reliever mom
and the old detective story "Sp_____ for Hire"
Tell him that it is both, just like chocolate.
Stress reliever you have to be joking!
now he's got a head growing our of his shoulder..ewwww
ty eva, all words i did not yet have. keep it up (please)
have to make dinner soon.
He is laughing at all the responses.
sp6/24 is the detective minus last letter
I enjoy the grids and all the people I get to meet. I do find that I miss it when I can't play
as long as he doesn't get between you and the grid...does it matter??? :)
my dr told me to do this to forget my business. i;m a cfo and need stress relief so i don;t grow a 2nd head on my shoulder
Which sp is the ghost?

need to take a break, bbl
te7/36 is more of the te6
hehe, only 299 to go here :D
Don't have the te6 either
te7/36 - looks like a comparative for a grump, but missing a t
can I have more a clue for the ca 8 pls
Well, Jill, you still have over 5 hrs to finish!
hi luwnada
ca8= Spanish for house, but change last vowel, then add mi4
i only have the 1st 3 un's - any hints?
te 6 rhymes with what star trek followers call themselves
un5= remove a hat, then pl
Any help for the ep5/16? Please and thank you.
un8=unfix
ep5 - add a brick carrier to get a biblical word
ep + what you carry bricks in
un5=untear, then pl
un5==undo shoela**s
I thought the ca 8 used the QU? Now I am real confused
happy new year to all
Thanks, but the brick clue is evading me.
ca8/50 does NOT use the qu, It is used in ca6
maybe this is a stoopid question, but how do you untear something?
but I have the ca 8 now, thnx I must have misread a clue earlier
Then there is un + Central Intelligence Agency--the 4 is minus last letter, the 6 adds a stick, and the 7 adds S to the 6
The brick carrier rhymes with pea carrier
hi to all recent arrivals!
wow thanks scrabbler
un + tear Sorry cliff
I'm back. Judi - I saw you asked about Joey rabbit. I'm afraid he's not improving at the moment. I've just unblocked his nose again & given him a little water. Might have to see vet again tomorrow for a change of antibiotic.
Thanks, haz. Got it!
aw, poor bunny
That's good, Kenny.
scrabbler, you misunderstood. i got the word, just don't know how it is possible to un-tear something :)
still cannot get the si6 word...can i have aneasier cue please?
Poor Joey. It it some rabbit disease or a cold?
good point cliff
si plus Miss Gaynor, minus an r and a
Oh dear, Jacula. I have been through that with my late Peter Rabbit--I fed him liquid nutrition and gave him enrofloxacin for 6wks before he could stand up. He ended up walking again, with an adorable head tilt, and live another 18 mo
how 'bout the 1st un 6/24?
ok, halfway! time for a break!
Judi - it's quite a serious condition called 'snuffles'. It's like a cold, I suppose. Unfortunately, rabbits can blow their noses (nor sneeze, it would seem.)
*meant can't blow their noses.
pounce oh jac thats not good, poor rabbit
I am with you O! I have 182 words and 181 left. Time for a break
haz -- Miss Gaynor? The only one I've heard of is (was) Janet Gaynor and there's no J
Scrabbler - Joey's been on Baytril. Vet did say to go back tomorrow if no improvement.
un4/6 + mr. gore
Cliff---I don't question the dictionary, I have pledged full unwaivering allegiance to the Enable Dictionary.
haha, exactly with me ypsi
ok, see you all later, happy new year!
Yep, Jac, Baytril is enrofloxacin. My Gandalf has been on it for a year and will be on 1 pill/day for his life.
bye ornith!
jilli - Miss Gaynor who sang 'I Will Survive'.
Sounds like your in for a long recovery period, Jacula. Best of luck to you and Joey.
thank you haz...i have it now....i was working in the wrong corner!!!
Thanks, Judi.
Jac -- good luck with Joey. He's been sick for quite a while now, hasn
*you're* (egads, it's contagious!)
t he?
Glad you got there, mo.
Yippeee mo--that is perhaps the strangest word on the grid.
ty
The te's are tough!
Sorry Jac, son't know that Miss Gaynor or that song!
you can say thatagain!!! lol
jilli - No, he had a stroke and bounced back from that, then he got fly strike and now he's got snuffles. He was well in between though. He's about 9-years-old. He's a house rabbit now.
good god jac i didn't realise rabbits lived that lond
oh, poor Joey!!! I have friends who had a house rabbit with a perfect name -- Mrs Hopkins.
jilli - re Miss Gaynor & the song - try Google.
Jill---Gloria
Why isn't ITER accepted?
OK, jac -- I should have thought of that!
I decided to just make it easier for you, Jill
thanks, Scrabbler!
ti 5/12?
the last 2 mi6/24 words anyone please?
now of course I've forgotten the rest of the clue except that it started with si (I think)
perform wrong and write wrong
thanks, une ;)

jilli - I've forgotten what word you were after.
spiral
oops, sorry!!
si + ***r*a Gaynor
ti 7 = more leaning to the side
Ah, that was it Scrabbler.
thanks une
so have I, Jac! I think it was si+ Miss Gaynor and then something else about a couple of letters
:-D
ti 5/12? anyone?
HI all, back to finish
involuntary spasm + mr. gore
Scrabbler, thanks for the si6 never would have found it, new word for me
Thanks. Thought I had found all the iers
Old Persian coin, apparently, jilli.
thanks, Scrabbler -- NEVER would have got that without help!
Go P***winkle! You are heading to fireworks!
that was a clue for the ti5, cliffopa
ty une, got it
Jill, it is such a ridiculous word that I was ready to accidentally put it in this box.
ce7,40? I know it's probably plural of the ce6, but I don't have that either.
live and learn -- we do get such useful info here
back to finish, I hope... Happy New Year to the newcomers.. these biggies are killers..
the 2nd te 6/24?
yes, "accidentally", right!
ce6 and ce7---> think of font called sans serif--ce6 is homonym of serif
mayi have a clue for pa7/40 please?
mkl - another spelling of a print type sans se*** - a little different though (ci6/27 + plural ci7/40.)
Scrabbler, did you just type that in Greek? Cause it was all Greek to me.
*meant ce6 & 7, not ci!)
pa6...friend + boat
owl.... friend + boat
No, Latin. LOL
haha mo... i swear i didn't know you were doing that
snap!!
hi dorens - happy new year!
Hi Doren!
*resorts to charades*: Ce6 Sounds like seraphim and it's plural.
same to you owl... great way to start it off, right? hi scrabbler
Gosh darn. I actually got it from those clues. Must have been good ones. Thank you
Hey Happy New year Everyone
te5,14?
you too, lady
It's already Jan 2nd for you, lady.
mkl - it's a French term. Print type used to be called 'Gothic'.

Owl, I came home this afternoon and tho the rain wasn't pleasant...there wasn't any traffic so I did it in less than four hours. (i am afraid of thelist lady.. will take forever to enter! but I know i'll need it)
i think i got some good shots today time to get to work on them

'Bye mo. Sleep well.

back again - chatting with an online bridge friend - just lost one of our players - dear old gal
te5 rhymes with what pipelayers dig
Oh dear, mo! Not good!
flosey -- you did say ONLINE bridge player?
Is Haz still here?
Got that one, Scrabbler. If it's the one that sounds like one who is a Wiccan.
yes
Spanner send the rain this way , we had about 460mm last year instead of 640mm 11year of drought
TY mo!!
sad, flosey
didn't ever meet her but we played if I was up in the night - and there were a few who played at that time
qu= yummy dish with crust and eggs and whatever else you want to throw in
Yes, Jacula.
and I sometimes just chatted with her
she was from Vanc. / Whiterock area
Haz - I just wondered how you were getting on. Also, how's you back?
C'mon lady, YOU know how to make it rain...*smiling*
*your back
Ty, Scrabbler. Now just need one more Qu.
where did she live, flosey?
picnic outside
somewhere around Whiterock
Maybe...
My back has improved greatly, thanks. And the grid is done, thank goodness.
Yay! Got the last Qu.
2nd pi4/6 please
which bridge site is this, flosey?
ge the kiwis to come over here and do a rain dance again, last time that happened we had snow
Yahoo
Oh good re the back and well done re the grid, Haz. Have you read the Crete thing yet, or did it bore you to death?:/
YAY Haz!!!!
do you ever play bridge online Jill?
Taking a break to go watch Pirates of the Carribean on DVD. A gift from my SIL. Time for a glass of wine, too, I do believe.
yay Haz
hey guys - can i ask your opnion on something?
Thank you jillibus!
marigold, are you playing
sure Temple
My husband reckons every time I sing it rains..maybe I should come over for a visit...
Stidmama's going to have to wait for her copy as my printer died day before yesterday. The fuse on the power input box blew. It can't be replaced & a new power box costs almost as much as a new printer.:(
yes
fire away, TO
Yes, TO.
go ahead temple
sure TO
I had a look years ago and then again at that site (Bridge Base?) you told me about which was so slow, but never actually played.
yes, BB can be painfully slow - seldom use it for that reason
spanner - I'll send Other Half's daughter with you! I'm always saying the same to her about her singing.:))
Absolutely, TO
Jacula - I've read part of it, loved the description of the death-defying motorcycling families!
if you don't get a christmas card from some you did get them from in the past, what do you do?
I usually play Yahoo, have a few regulars I play with
marigold, how are you doing with the game, I have 33 left
TO, how about calling to see if all is well?
TO - are you close enough that you could call and say Happy New Year and I was just wonderiong about your Christmas?
Contact them to see what is up.
you figure maybe they'y're like me, owl? some years I ijust don't get it together to send them out?? and DON"T cross them off your list
Haz - Glad you're enjoying it. Sorry about it being such small print! Yes, those families on mopeds amazed and horrified us.
i have 2 left
hey Dorens, that's me too! sometimes just don't get cards out in time
I send another the next year and if their n-card repeats I cross them off my list. Assuming they haven't departed this vale of tears, in which case my card is usually returned by the post office
well i would but what if they just don't want to continue the relationship? that owul dbe embarrassing. ii am awful at maintaining relationships as it is
some years i'm more in the mood, some years less... but my friends are still my friends. Owl, DON"T be embarassed. life is too short
but still better to find out?
go marigold, go marigold!
haha dorens - i DO have one friend who is exactly that way!
it was good if wxhasuting, tea - and yours?
TO: it has been my experience that not getting a Christmas card could mean that the person/family had a bad year; they didn't want to write a litany of downers and they certainly were not in a ho ho ho mood
TO give them a call and wish them happy new year, if you dont youll always wonder what if...
i agree, life is too short, call them up - you should get a vibe if they don't want to maintain the friendship. Plus, you made an effort and if they still don't reciprocate, then you know.
I've got to get back to this grid!! any clues for ai5/14 please - I've been everywhere but the right spots!!
ty aloy. one usually sends a christmas letter with all of the kids' accomplishments
ai5/14 - the phonetic rendering of h
no skin off your nose if you send a card for a year or two to people who don't want them. Flosey, it is the letter after g
Sometimes the no-card-sender is a very long distance away
Christmas was great but exhausting, as it should be with two toddlers!
the other has her first grandchild this year
ai 5.14 is the letter after g, spelled like it sounds
We usually send a Christmas letter, too, but we didn't this year, as we had nothing super noteworthy to say!
AHHHH thanks Haz and Aloy
got it
well i have no toddlers and i was exhasuted! this is trhe first time i have stopped - off for a week and no time to myself

peri - te5/14 is a fish. Rhymes with a park seat.
sorry you didn't sleep well at your sister's Dorens
lol, well then I wouldn't want to put the stress of racing on you anyway
te5/14 - a fish. One letter away from a stink, a different letter away from a ditch.

Boston to New Jersey isn't a short drive either--that alone would be enough to make me tired

pe 5/14: British money
LOLOl, natasha
pe5/14 - plural parts of a pound
I know, Natasha, and I am about to cry.....I cannot wear flannel pajamas to work, WAHHHH
TY for the pe5
ii am off tomoroow. god bles mr. ford.
I probably could scrabbler, that's the funny thing... no "dress up" for me any more.
ah, scrabbler don't you want to go take care of the cute little kiddies?
Do you work from home, Pam?
pam, do you work from home?
i really am lucky.. i do like work and miss it.. will be happy to be back tomorrow
No, the office is above a warehouse-type bookstore and I really could wear yoga pants or sweats
Natasha, I love the kids, it is so many of the parents that make my life difficult.
LOL--I can believe that! *secretly hoping my kids pediatrician doesn't count me in that lot*
what do you do pam?
I'll bet it's the parents, scrabbler. And, not only because their kids might be sick...
LOL, natahs
Natasha, you are probably on the "good" list.
i keep typing words and feels like i'm getting nowhere
*natasha
I try to be a good patient/parent - it helos that our pedi was my pedi when I was a kid, so we know what to expect
*helps
customer service, ren, for an online cookbook catalogue
thanks scrabbler, I try not to be a pain.
need recipes...see pam
our pediatrician was also my dr. and my ex's doctor, so we knew her really well even before the kids were born.
I am a horror show patient, LOL. I have a huge need to know... and I want to be in the loop...
Some parents are SO incredibly demanding and disrepectful. Most are great.
i remember now! that sounds like fun!
nut - try typing in re6/24. You just used the plural of the word.
i want "spheroid"
nothing like a pediatrician to the generations!!!!
thanks nut!
it is fun, renfield
ooopserie
And some parents are just lousy parents and I want to take the kids home and give them a bath, clean clothes, real food, and lots of love.
i'm on a roll tonight
it is kinda nice having the same pedi
i want calipher
I'm sure you see a lot you would rather not, scrabbler.
I am now taking care of second generation kids--neat.
my sister takes her kids to him too, so we schedule our appts together
That must be fun, TNC.
you can't have it ren

it is fun, and she is having twins in two weeks
want want want, and you wanted a rhinestone studded eyepatch when we were growing up too.
happy new year to all
i want a pink one now nut
Hi, helen
hi jac - bye jac
hi helen - same to you!
ooh twins--how many does she already have?
It is terribly sad to see so many kids picking up so much emotional baggage, but I teach kids to make the choices to get them where they want to go.
get thee pink socks instead.
hppy new year to you helen
hi hk
happy new year helen
then, they have you, scrabbler, and that is terrific!
Your sister is having twins, TNC! Wow! She will need HELP!
is there no end to the r words?
she has two already - 13 and 5
the r's are taking over the world owl
They are repetitive aren't they?
I'm such a twit, I've been staring at the he5 forever and not seeing it as a word.
Nope, no end. Word total today = infinity! (It sure feels like it!)
wooooo hoooooo, halfway mark!!!!!!
not to mention redudant, rude, and recalcitrant
that's not soo bad then tea--my twins were my first and it was overwhelming sometimes
really
been there, natasha, with a different word, but been there actually, in many a grid
Yes, Pam! You're our girl, Pam. You can do it!
My mom had 4 kids in as many years, the last being twins.
right
we're trying to decided which would be harder - if you have twins first, then you don't know any better. If you have them second, well . . .
was hard on an already fragile mind... wish i had had an adult in my life like you, scrabbler!
good lord, pam! she's made of stronger stuff than I am.
LOL, scrabbler
no, actually, even with resources, she unfortunately wasn't
yay pam! natasha... where are you?
My husband has a client whose wife is expecting their second set of twins within a year.
some people should not be parents...
but, she has decided to not go back to work and with me being home, too, she should have some help!
Me, an adult? I sure fooled you! I'm actually 11.
oh goodness, Haz
in the grid--111. I've been chatting too much!
rofl
I had to go and lie down in a darkened room when I heard.
great that you can assist, tnc
Yes, many parents should not be parents---the job is way TOO important.
I'm just about having that reaction myself haz!
haz, you are so funny today
I would, too, Haz - oh my goodness.
I agree, scrabbler, it is essential , and too many people have NO clue
I read about a family once that had three sets of triplets.
Two sets of twins---oh dear!
ack, natasha
hello everyone! long time no see!
oh natasha - that just makes me want to vomit!
REEEEEEEEEESE'S
Excuse me, Natasha, I need to go to a darkened room now.
hi, reese
The couple had put off having children until the wife was in her early forties. Who knows what might have happened if they had started earlier....
hi reese's!
hey, reese's
EVANONUT!!!!!!!!
hi reese - long time, no see - happy new year!
AND they were proud of it, like it was a badge of honor. more like a badge of craziness if you ask me.
haz - they probably wouldn't have had twins. the chances for twins increases as the mother gets older!
pl8,50???
there's reese!
right back at you helen!
reese's likes me even though i torment her. ;-D
of course, I'm not judgmental about the choices made by other people...
nice one nut!
no, not in the least, natasha
I didn't realise that, Tea. Still, I'm sure they'll manage somehow.
some people can handle it - I could not, no way, no how! My two are ENOUGH!
Crackers was a twin, and we learned a lot about twins and their chances, etc. when we found that out.
pl 7 sounds like a fl****** w/ a rain coat -insert a vowel for pl 8
Twins, triplets, etc are high-risk pregnancies.
thanks, renfield
yw pam!
It's the sort of situation where you would either have to decide to impose martial law in the home or just not care.
i am stupified with 41 left...
tea- am i reading right? you lost an infant? i'm so sorry
???rain coat??? Huh?
brb, must restart
old lech in a raincoat fl***es others for jollies.
you know - what fl*****s wear
restart the grid - are you mad?!
sort of . . . we were pregnant with twins and one was ectopic, but we didn't find that out until it burst at 12 weeks necessitating emergency surgery. But, he and I made it through, so all is good!
hi charm! happy new year!
ap6?
Back shortly.
Hey, TO - to you as well. <been lurking; 34 to go>
I have pl7.36--I need pl8,50
Happy New Year everybody!!!!
oh, that sounds horrible.
tea - wow! that must have been scary!
thank you though, helen
You are both so fortunate, TNC.
you too hodag

scrabbler - insert a vowel towards the end for pl8
Hey, HK
scrabbler: add the third vowel before the two letter ending.
That one gets me all the time. Just don't think of it as one word
OK, I found the pl8
hi Dorens
i have 95 to go :(
ca6,30?
it was - at one point the hospital staff asked my husband if he knew what my plans were in case i didn't make it. It was a true test.
I need 2 pl6,24's after the first one
But, all is good, Crackers is a great boy,am healthy and we are DONE!
change the last consonant for one scrabbler
OK--did that one, Doren.
Is his name actually crackers?
and add a second vowel next to the first (i am listless still, but just guessing what you needed)
Yes, Graham Cracker.
ca6/30 = ca + fit of p**** (p5/18)
that should say - we are healthy no, his name is Graham )
ca 6 = ca** and able + a short line
oh i see!
TY Doren--pl's are done.
i still need ten more, but no idea which!
Do you ever call him Animal Cracker, TNC?
i mean ten more p's
