I have a story about wigs. Hbby and I were on a cruise in the sixties when I was slim and darkhaired and wore dark-rimmed glasses. We habituated a certain bar on the ship and made friends there. One night we felt mischievous and I took off the glasses and put on a blonde wig, slithered on the arm of hubby into said bar. Nobody would look at us or talk to us. :D
thnk you fran
jillibus, LOL!
i have to go and empty the wash tub and hang the washing out but i dont want to
My wig looked kinda like your daughter's rubber job, une

tx, deb. before my surgery i was riding a bicycle for transpo - 40 to 50 miles/wk. now i am less active & so close to the fridge! ithinkicanithinkicanithinkican - iknowicaniknowicaniknowican!
disobedient fingers, flosey! Slaphappy person all fatigued
iknowyoucaniknowyoucaniknowoucan
helen -- you mean a pageboy?
xoxoxoxoxo - to deb
no - i can't think of an sctress who wore one - i kind of thought samantha on bewithced had one, but i didn't see it
thar is not in the dictionary -- "them thar hills..."
Betty Grable
i know . . . and i always try it!
didn't June Allison wear a rather pageboy?
in Scouts I remember we did "thar's a bar . . . whar? over thar!"
maybe sometimes
and im back and im all wrinkley
wrinkley? why?
haven't done the dishes yet :(
nor I jilli - they'll have to wait for morning, am always up early
I had to put a load of washing on the line and i had to do it all by hand about a laundry tub worth
that was fast herinfernallady! at least it's exercise.
wow, we aren't hanging things out these days !! to wet here
um the load was soaking for an hour then i rinsed it for about 5min as its water restrictions here
where are you herin
halfway - but little success with the big words.
Flosey its um 30 degress he in sunny melbourn australia and its 6pm
wow good for you melon
handwashing in wet weather - that is tough herinf!
this is the latest temp report i have done 2 loas like this today
30 centigrade i'm guessing
Melon i spent a year without a washing machinen. Yes that is 30 degress about 82 f
st 7 if not said before
just did some googling -- Betty Grable had a pageboy occasionally -- June Allyson more often (a short one)
i learned centigrades watching the israeli weather report - my mnenomic - 20 = 68 and 30 = 86 (C to F conversion).
thanks dee!
oh how nice herin - the temp I mean, good luck with the laundry
tx VolleymomDee!
Melon my washing machine up and crapped it self one day so for about a year i nearly did everything by hand except sheets then one day i turned the machine around saw no belts broken turned it back then switched it on. It rattle spluttered and spewed out a bra bone. Been working fine since
yw
Thanks Volley
lol infernal!
Flosey its this hot all week bler, its summer here
melon - more mnenomics -- 4C = 40F, 16C = 61F, 28C = 82F
tx jilli - i love stuff like that :)
gosh i wish i looked like my icon.
neat jilli - have never seen those stats before - how long have we been metric and I still think in lbs and F.
me too -- like yours, I mean, melon (I used to, a bit)
Easy conversion Centigrade to Fahrenheit is to double the C and add 30 -- gets you pretty close.
Hello everyone
yes arb, that's the way I do it
close enough
hi muse!
hi mymuse
hi Fran!
hi flosey
Flosey - I can use the temps but not the weights and measures! I thought maybe my grandkids would be metricated but asked grandson how tall he was and he said six feet two
i'm not asking for a clue, but does anyone have the ca7s & 8??????
Fran i was not paying a service guy $50 just to come out and then tell me it was a $10 belt. I have male frinds for that
yes melon
ARB -- I don't do math
only one ca7 though

still haven't found the other one.

and the 8 :)
J's greyed out
taDah ARB!
the second ends in an ea that is not a plural. makes it better.
thanks joey!
tx joey
Jillis icon contains a word
I'm furious with Time magazine Canadian edition -- they keep talking about heights and weights in metric so I keep a metric conversion calculator handy and translate. I've written them to protest and explain that we just don't think that way so please use both kinds of measurement but they ignore me of course.

Hi MVA
Global warming? El Nino? What else is there? We are having a rubbish summer so far really. It was blowing a gale in exposed areas here today
frances means that on Lickety's page you can type into the box at the top and the word will be put into the right place ON LICKETY'S PAGE but not on the grid page's word list.
Sorry lil got the wrong end of the stick. Thought you meant en

Good morning metal - Spangle is fine, just her usual self.
that's good to hear
ml I find that with quite a lot. I just keep looking until I find one that wiorks
Good morning Haz. Wet and cold here. There?
Frances, I was thinking this morning that it must be weeks since I have seen pavements and roads completely dry. I'm pining for a cold, frosty, DRY day.
I was saying earlier that I long for snow and we just don't get it any more.
I could live without the snow, but cold, crisp days just seem to be a distant memory. It's just so soggy.
I've had a good soaking every day whilst walking the muttmeister. It always seems to stop when we get in. Must polish up the crystal ball!
Good morning everyone.
Hello Denny
hi Haz! and same here, Frances ...
it's been raining a few days here, but was dry today, well tuesday... the water's beginning to recede from most of the yard now.
hi Denny
Walking beside Spangle on a wet day is like walking beside a mini car-wash with the brushes whirring. She needs her undercarriage washed every time and I have to change trousers!
:-D lol
LOL!! Sounds *so* familiar!
morning haz, denny and atalante
Good morning Atalante and pinkhat.
Did everyone have a good New Year?
wb hat
mine was quiet byt nice yours?
When was new years?
Riz has got quite short hair but it still manages to soak up an awful lot of water so when he shakes we all get very wet.
you sleep through it BR?
Very nice and civilized. Had couple of friends over for nibbles etc. Can't bear the thought of venturing out on New Year any more!
Good morning Babble.
Not awake enough to tell
Hello, all
ahhhh
Hence the shades eh BabRab?
Moning babble lol frances
No wonder its so dark in here!
hello
I need shades like that for my sleep time Babble, to keep the morning light from streaming in upon my face. (having an east facing window and sleeping days is not a good combo)
oh dear - little one is requesting my attention. Hope to see you all later! Happy Babbling
'bye Denny
we just blew a light bulb and we only have 1 in the lounge room and no spares
So need for shades.
You beat me to it Haz LOL
No need for shades, that should be.
back again
hi im eating
too andree
Hello Andree - yes Frances, not a lot else you can say.
Haz its a pain as its getting dark and i need light to see keyboard, its interfering with bable
Why not move rooms? Isn't it a laptop?
haz it is but the tv is here and so is my partner and more importantly the aircon unit
false alarm - back again!
wb Denny
tohubohu for sure
OK BabRab I give up. You've lost me on that one!
tohu bohu: (Hebrew) [from tohu wasteness + bohu emptiness, void] Used in Genesis (tohu wabhu) for the state preceding the appearance of the manifested universe -- primeval chaos. "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep" (Genesis 1:2).
Thank you BabRab
Thanks for asking, Frances, and thanks for the explanation, Babble.
On the Hebrew theme, the biblical bad driver, Je4/11 is there.
TY Haz and TY BabbleR - interesting
ty Haz
You're welcome.
I have no Hebrew contribution, but I did find the Greek letters et4/4
Thanks metal .
You are welcome
and it looks as if Dr. God provided us with snacks today. there are nuts and tannic beverages
well, one nut
I suppose you could also say salad ca6/21
very true Frances
Vegetables, don't forget to eat your greens.
I thought I'd tried that earlier. It must have been spelled incorrectly.
TY Metal - I'm glad its only 6 letters. I'm 2/3rds through and not one 7 or 8 yet!
we have a complete meal here, if one's willing to substitute the nuts for another protein source
I've three sevens but the eight eludes me
ra6/21 would provide something of the pig?
ml plural the ca7/32
if anyone wants clues for the 7's I have, just ask
good poing Haz, I forgot about that being a UK term for bacon
mmm I can ta5.10 it now
ty Frances, when/IF I find that 7, I'll pluralize it.
You're welcome ml
ca 7/32 - etui + ahoy, m***...plural for the 8
Thanks for the ca8!
ty BR
Or suit ca4/5 + consumed
I thought I had found desert - casata - but it wouldn't take!
wooo! ty Frances and BabbleRabble
what is casata?
TY BabbleR & Frances
Italian ice-cream
You're welcome ml and lyn
im going back to sleep see you all later
nite Pink
bye, pinkhatlil
Sleep well lil
'night hat, sleep well
ooooh, that sounds good
like gelato?
haven't had it for years but as I remember it is creamier
mmmm, sounds heavenly
Doesn't it have fruit in?
maybe I need to look up a recipe for it
think you are right Frances
A recipe I have for it includes fruit, and using different flavours of ice-cream to fill up a pudding bowl.
sounds similar to the recipe I found
wanna trade?
Sounds like an icecream Xmas pudding - which are quite the rage in Aust - more suitable for our climate
I have the recipe, but have never tried it, so can't vouch for how good it is. The picture looks good.....
there's also a cheese called Casata, suitable for serving with ripe/sweet fruit
mmm lyxx another good one with pudding is one 350gr can of pudding 1 tablespoon of brandy crumble, fridge till hard then roll in balls and drop into 300g melted dark choc put on foiled tray and fridgerate
I found one recipe with rice in it
what is brandy crumble?
that was brandy then crumble in a blender or food processer sorry i was talking to my boy again
and a dumb question from across the pond...what does pudding mean in this case?
um plum pudding
good point Eva
like a cake?
good morning everybody:)
um cake boiled errr um hang on
You get plum pudding in a tin?
or thick/gooey/like custard
morning jean
hmmmm. we don't have canned plum pudding here except iin specialty stores and they cost a fortune.
hello jean
Good morning, jean.
pudding here usually means chocolate or vanilla or butterscotch
hi jean
eva thats mouse
pudding, in this case, means a mixture that is put into a ceramic pudding bowl and usually boiled. we don't usually use the expression pudding in Australia for the sweet course at the end of a meal
mousse, hopefully.
eva its like fruit cake but moist
opps my bad
I have had it once, at a British friend's house, when I was a child. It was very good.
you just mean plum pudding
a good one is fantastic - but usually only appear on Xmas day here
pudding here is generally used to refer to a custard mixture
and alot tastier when cooked properly otherwise fruit cake can be used as a door stop
what's mouse?
mousse?
um whipped cream and chocolate
ahhh
as in chocolate mousse, metal
Yes, mousse. Mousse loose about the hoose has quite different connotations to a mouse loose about the hoose. (Less screaming)
mouse is what Merp eats. Mousse is a french dessert with whipped cream, or whipped egg white and chocolate or lemon usually
lol haz
it depends on the cook Haz
we do know our desserts, don't we(-:
what do you call it in the States Metal?
I've eaten a mousse or two that would cause more fear than most mice
eva i have this recipe where i get a small carton of cream whip that then add 125 grams of melted choc whip till peaky but not curdled
call what? mousse, pudding, cake, or dessert?
I trust no cook who serves me mouse!
Metal - mousse - I thought it must have another name in the US
dormice were considered a delicacy in ancient Rome. this is one instance I would not do as the Romans...
Lynxx i think mousse is there pudding it tink
mousse is, I believe, basically the same here
no, mousse is mousse. But they do have some quick, instant mousse mixes which are disgusting
pudding however has a different connotation
Mixy mousse.
Groan
as lynxxx said earlier we don't seem to use the term pudding, I just say dessert if it is served after a meal
and custard usually denotes a "pudding" made with eggs and cooked
Have you guys all finished the puzzle?
not me
I still have 65 to go
or in the case of my stepmother she says dessert is the meal
good to know I
You mean, why do we have time to talk about pudding? No, nowhere near finished - 65 to go.
59 to go here
52 left here
I've seen T-shirts with the slogan: Life's short, eat dessert first.
not the only one. I should still be sleeping, but tell my brain that
there's always time to talk about dessert
and don't get me going on main dishes, or anything made with potatoes. I might forget Babble entirely.
I have a fridge magnet that says 'If they don't serve chocolate in heaven then I don't want to go'
So, potatoes, metal, How do you eat yours?
potatoes! The source of all life!
pretty much any way they can be prepared. I love potatoes
Then there's potato/cheese combos! How can you go wrong?
mmm tatos
have the 1st re5/10, need the other two please
fried, stewed, steamed, baked, in soups, in pancakes, in bread, in casseroles (hot dishes for those in the north/midwest)
Andree-what do you think this is, a word game or something?
mmm creammy potato bake
Baked potatoes (must be done in the oven not microwave) with strrong grated cheese. Yummy
mmm potatos baked in skin in foil. served with lashings of sour cream, butter, b. pepper and tasty cheese and shallots
I'll swap ya for the 2nd and 3rd....
i love microwaved potatos with sourcream and cheese herb dip
re5/10 - lay the table again
re5/10-to view again, to gel again
scalloped potatoes
potatoes au gratin
those are the only 2 I have so far. Swap?
re5/10 the first - add Hobbit's owner, shortened
My mother used to make what she called cheese pie. Mashed potato mixed with grated cheese and finely diced onion and put in the oven with cheese on top until golden.
those I have
it's the first I need
metal - see post below
yummmm Frances
oh dear now im hungry again
I see, just don't understand.
have no idea who Hobbit's owner is/was
must need potatoes
or more herb tea
or pudding
Okay, try re plus the beginning of the ocean separating US and Britan, repeat the vowel
or mousse
metal sounds like indian bread
thanks Haz!
me, Eva!
hies
Hobbit - owened by artistic, marine biologist babbler. There she is!
sorry
it's a rope...
yes indeed ata
ty for the clue, I just didn't remember who was paired with Hobbit
indian bread?
good thing I got the word, the bread lost me for sure, lol@self
re 5 -- re***ablish contract with a long lost classmate
Thought that was naan
or chapati
Roti
ohhhhh
Puri
thanks babble
entirely too many r's in this grid
TY BabbleR
Ex-Wren's going to be unhappy
then' there's raita, but enable doesn't accept it (not that it's in this gri-just a pet peeve)
*refresh for Hobbit pic*
Sulking or shy?
can't ata, because my high speed is down and I might never get back,
cold!
Or refusing to go shopping again?
So ours isn't the only one who likes to be under the duvet Ata
oh no :) she looooves the duvets
Rock likes to be on top of the main blankets, but insists on having bf's old army blanket atop him... as if he's a joey in a pouch
okay-couldn't resist and I'm back. What is Hobbit? Looks like a dachsund
*grins* nope, am not part of the dachsie brigade. She's a cocker spaniel.
ahhhh=hard to tell with just the nose peeking out
I miss having a dachshund... we had them when I was a child.
we sometimes put Merp under the duvet for a time out. It makes him mellow. If he stays put that is
awwwwwww. time-out duvets!
my brother and sister-in-law have 3 mini dachsunds. Very cute and very impish
great diggers. Their yard apparently looks like a WWI movie
lol so does ours!
Riz was being naughty yesterday. I showed him the open Marmite jar and he fled upstairs to bed. As they say, you either love it ore hate it - must go for dogs too.
dachsies are made to dig, and they are fierce too! many people mistake small for "sissified" but dachs. were bred to hunt badgers
Is Marmite similar to Vegemite?
marmite would put me under the covers for sure!
Yes ml, but better. Sorry Aussies.
sc6/24 please
vegimite is yummy
andree vegimite and peanut butter together yummy
sc 6 - we shall g****r at the river to pray
great clue babble!
thx babble
Think even I would pass on that one infernal!
how did we get from mousse to vegimite? Entropy?
That's the first time I've ever seen it without an ing at the end (sc6)
peanut butter, honey, and olives, with potato chips (crisps)
not for me herin, I like one or the other not mixed
ca6/21 before motors please
Andree salt and vinager chips on bread
roman emperor ron
Would that be the roman salad/emperor? ca6
ca6.21 ca***** salad
oh - chip buttees!
Thought chip butties were with fried potatoes not crisps
Taking a break. Back later.
Bye Haz
mmm i throw tomato sauce on top of the chippies. Yes im gross
what i wouldn't give for a chip buttie right now!!
ta got it duh kept looking down
hi everyone
is tomato sauce ketchup?
buttie?
chips as in potato crisps, or chips as in fried potato bits?
boker tov ishult
'bye Haz
yes eva
chip butees are french fries only larger and in a fresh bread sanwich. nice!
definately with ketchup
hi Ishult
steak fries
big, thick cut things
one of those low carb dishes, huh?
That was what I thought too lyn
Hi Ishult
Zahari'im tovim Eva
correct?
Morning Ishult
definately Eva - not
very early boker here ishult
right metal, with ketchuop & vinegar
Low card/low cal Eva!!!!!!!!
Atlanta both but i meant chrisps for you
*carb
ewwww, not vinegar
Just finished lunch, but could still go for a chip buttie!!
that goes on fried fish, not on potatoes
where is ketura, Ishult?
mayo on potatoes, maybe, but not vinegar
back on the subject of butties....
here the only thing on fries (chips), by and large, is ketchup(tomato sauce).
Def vinegar ml not mayo
what's a bacon buttie? (heard about that courtesy of the comedy show "Keeping Up Appearances)
chips (fries) and mayonnaise. perfect.
tomato sauce goes on most things, Bacon in bread oh year
Eva, I'm in the south of the country, just 45 km from Eilat
It will just be bacon fried and used as a sandwich filling
I never tried mayo on fries until I met a chef from Belgium
my arteries are hardening just from reading
apparently they serve them that way from street-vendor's carts
there's no better use for bacon lynxxx, unless it's eaten solo
Oh metal heres one thats gross but so good McDonald fries in their hot choc sauce
omg, crisp bacon is a wonderful thing
ick
Nooooooooo Infernal !
but then, I'm not a big chocolate fan
Yuk infernal
no its really good a dutch friend told me to try and i liked it
boy, you really like it hot, don't you Ishult! My memories of Eilat are of hamsim...sand in mouth, nose, glaring sun.
my dad loved salad cream on fries
morning all :)
salad cream? like what we call salad dressing? or what we call miracle whip? (a Kraft brand product)
Morning mia
choc then salt vinager chrisps is another gross fav pig out. Trying to loose weigh so i am steering clear of that stuff
morning mia
hi mia
hi mia
salad cream is a little like mayonnaise. used for the same purposes :) it's runnier, and yummu.
they are, metal. chips and mayo is a very Belgian thing. And *gorgeous*
yummy*
no totally different Metal i found miracle whip today, its mayonase
popcorn, drenched in butter, sprinkled with salt and lemon juice, dropped atop a bowl or glass of buttermilk is also good
infernal I fear for your ta5/10 buds. I really do!]
eva, gets really hot in summer, but dry, almost no humidity. But we have a pool ans airconditioners, so we cope. It's cold right now tho
Hi again all - have been worrying about Kate - Is she OK??
thanks ursh i was seconding the thought
I haven't seen/heard lately. Has anyone else?
kate hudson?
she popped in yesterday.
yes
Frances if i ever had kids god forbid the cravings if i alreading like salt vinegar chips and choc

Hello ursh

Hi Frances
Just my thought infernal I think you're all craved out

Chocolate covered potato chips are all the rage where I'm from, herin.
I have a questioin. Does anyone actually know Katie, in real life?
Oh, and hi everyone.

Hello turtle

anyone got a clue for the 8?
~I dont think so, Eva
ca8/45 suit ca4/5 + consumed
That should be ca7/32. Plural for the 8
ty Frances, good clue
You're welcome Ishult
I feel quite concerned about Katie, but also, although I hate to have to think this way, concerned about people sending money to someone whom they only know from the internet
pease
Thanks Frances
me too, Eva
You're welcome turtle
glad to know I'm not alone in that Ata
sorry everyone, always happens after chatting!!
eva i send thoughts not cash or i send an ecard of hope
people were sending money?
surely no one would be silly enough to send money?
I thought there was some mention of that.
or did I miss a vital part here
yes, inge / inge2 set something up
i wouldn't have thought kth would personally ask for help
anyway, I hope she is okay. They are so very, very young, and to have so many children at that age....a hard row to hoe
Good afternoon all!

Good Morning everyone
Raine: try refreshing or force-refreshing the page. Those other 2 H-words are not valid, it sometimes happens when the site is slow/buggy.
There are 13 H words
thanks mata and sprite that did it lol doh!
Eva, I did much worse with the blood donor last week. :)
fireworks
yeah Cyborg! Is it a fun grid?
congratulations Cyborg
Yay Cyborg!
Just read the chats. The ca 4 must build into the ca 7 and 8s? What's a good clue to get me started please?
wtg Cyborg
hi Merk
Its lovely Eva
It is a little idiosyncratic lol
ca7 to make into cheese
yay cyborg
builds on one of the ca4/5
I am sat heer and suppose to be packing boxes for the move but this seems more appealing lol
Merk - past tense of eat on the end & plural
sorry typo
lol Raine - sounds only too familiar!
Merk, the base your looking for is where you store your suit when going on holiday
how many words again
closet doesn't fit?
I'm working on it.
185
ta errr i have 184
sure it does BR, but it exceeds the weight limit for most airlines
I'd rather leave my suit at home.
neither does wardrobe, but you would not take that on holiday either
woot firewords
I have all of the ca 4 and am ready to try to make cheese ... and eat it.

does anyone else play the game where you try to get all the 5's upwards first, and leave the fours till your stuck? lol
Hi Mia, I tend to do areas and mix and match
Can't do it that way mia. Have to put them in as I see them.
it makes me feel better when i can add a slew of fours all at once, hehe.
Mia, your lovely and clever to be able to do that :))
i tot them up in my head as rewards for finding some fives and sixes all by myself without clues, hehe.
Mia - All that fresh air up in Leicester is doing you good! Better than down here in the big smoke lol
i live in a little town now, outside of leicester, so plenty of fresh air :)
Mia, guess it is cold enough for multiple scarves now :))
Mia... great website, is the business going well?
Well, either the website is going really well, or Miametro is busy finding words!
lol !
lol, yes it has gone quiet!
sorry guys! i'm at work, had to run and get something for a patient (i work at a doctors surgery)
NP
the business is going quite well, yes :) christmas was a good period but then, it always is.
Thought it was time for more words, less chat.
bbl
Ah, I had visions of you wrapped in scarves, battling your way through orders.
Ok, I can imagine that there are instances where it could be annoying not to get the patient what he needs in surgery, lolll
haha, not quite what i do.
i'm an office manager for a dr, but we forgot a prescription so i had to run to the pharmacy to get it.
i wish i was battling my way through orders!
Time for me to get togged up for the dog walking session - yet another opportunity to see how much water a spaniel can splash around you. Have a good day!

i'd love to do the east coast but can't afford it this trip. first time to america and first solo holiday so quite exciting!
You brave girl, never been anywhere solo, yes it is an exciting prospect :))
i know, all of my holidays have always been with family and i thought to myself, time to branch out on my own! i mean, i've travelled round the uk by myself but it doesn't really count does it?
lol, no, where did you live in Surrey?
croydon, for about a year. not the nicest of places, lol.
Oh that is 3/4 miles from here, I am in Cheam to be exact, a couple of miles up the road from Morden Tube, end of the Northern line, do you know it?
doesn't sound familiar, no. i studied in luton and lived with my boyfriend in mitcham, heh.
it is nice to have somebody special in your life, you're never lonely then hehe
ah, we split about 3 years ago, lol.
Anywho, gonna make some Welsh Rarebit, yum yum, looking forward to receiving the scarf, have a good day and speak later, byeeee ...
bye :)
<----------------43/M/single lol
<-- 23.f.single, lol..
not for long if I had my way lol
heh, i'm flattered but also quite happy being single :) i was in long term relationships from 16-22 so am enjoying my space ! :)
so, can anyone clue me on the 7's and 8? i have one 7, a cr7/36 .
I agree, you need to make time for eachothers interests, but usually they take it as a sign of going off them, guess if you lay it out from the start then you can have the best of both worlds
cr7/36 - the sort of person you wouldn't want to drive your new car
Sorry Mia, just starting
I have a 6, ca6/36
there is an es 7, es plus part of halloween
ty haz
Hello Wolvie!
a king a nut
re 7 - same ending as the es 7 I gave
hiya haz. :-)
thanks for the nut silver
pa7/36 - plural pa6/24 - Shortened Irish saint (three) then unreturnable tennis serve, but replace the last vowel.
se7/32 - plural se6/21 - think in sevens
st7/28 - a poor st7/28 might turn into a cr7/36
you are too quick for me haz - I have some of those 7's, of course now I have more. ;-)
59 left here - have to go for a bit - bbl - have a good day all!!
Do you have both ca7/32?
Bye Wolvie
no - not those
Bye Wolvie - have a good day.
ahhh - i dont know what a tennis serve is called
It's the same as a high scoring card.
the highest card wurdy
thanks
now I dont get the sevens clue
se6 is a group of seven then plural
I'm sticking around for the 2 ca 7's haz. ;-)
got em thanks
Sorry Wolvie - The first one - use the first three letters of the container before it (ca4/5), then add a word of rest/relaxation. The second one, looks like the said clothes container consumed food
The two words differ only in the second to last letters, and they follow each other alphabetically.
ty very much haz. Great clues!
You're welcome, Wolvie.
2 new words for me. :-)
now i must go - bbl!
Bye Wolvie!
bye wolvie
does anyone have the 8 yet
plural of ca7/32
The ca8 is the plural of the second ca7 that I clued below.
Thank you Haz
thanks very mcuh
Thanks Haz
Glad to help!

it's not too bad here, cold but at least it's not raining
Katie are you in Brum?
No MK today, I'll be in Brum tomorrow and Leicester on Friday. I'm housesitting for mum for the next 2 weeks so will be in brum a lot more. Are you still off?
Yeh looks like back next week afternoons.Your mom and dad should just stay packed much easier
I know I considered not buying a new house as I could probably have theirs for 40 weeks of the year ; -)
A lot to be said for this retirement thing someday am still scratching bingos
I know what you mean. I'm going to have to go back to work now. might see you on here tomorrow :-)

Onlylove showed me the site.

Hi Mo

its pretty fun confussing though
hi everyone! what's today's theme? i tried to get babs profile but she is logged off
oh yes, can be confusing, frustrating, and many more but keeps us coming back
Hi, Mo and smooth and everyone.
It's hairstyles, TO.
hi Scarlet
hairstyles TO
Hi Scarlet
hi sarlet
Hi flosey and TO and Mom
ooops....Scarlet!!
MVA got me into this - sometimes I'm glad she did. Other times.............???
LOL mo, you made me sound like something that rhymes with the H word... LOL
I like confussing things it takes me a whie to get the hang of it though
it won't take long dyxye
LOL!
I'm gettignthe hang of it thanks to onlylove
this is a nice grid
yes a pleasant one TO - unlike that huge one - was that Sunday? took all day
I have 78 left from pounding it out last night, but it is time to go the the Lickety's for ideas... I've hit the wall on new words... does anyone else think this is a bit challenging, or is it me?
My husband found the site and showed it to me in August 2005 (gotta love him). I played constantly for 3-4 months. I wasn't getting anything else accomplished so I quit. That is until August of 2006. Just couldn't stay away.
There are some new words, just to keep it interesting.
I'm down to last 25 and seem to reach brick wall
i do think it is challenging...just a matter of where one hits the wall
I am finding it a bit of a challenge
however, persevering
I have hit the wall at 59!
Well, TO, you are very good at this, and whether or not you know it, have helped me immensely since I started this in mid-October. Mo, you're a better woman than I am... to the List!! :-)
that is to say...59 more to get.
hi everyone :)
Hi Raelite
TO has helped us all - she's very good at giving clues
111 LEFT GAWD!
hi raelite
Hi, raelite

You're welcome.

I know...but I've yet to go...passed by it on the way to the mainland though
caterer
we go over to sidney often, on way to Victoria - was in Vic all day yesterday
oops
I love Sidney - Lunn's chocolates/bakery
ca7/32 - there are two of them. The first is ca4/5 (the container for holiday clothes) and the last letters of a word for relaxation. The second one looks like ca4/5 plus a word for consumed food.
:) onlylove, everyone does it. Makes you an offical babble member. lol
The two ca7/32 differ from each other only in the last but one letter, and they are next to each other alphabetically. The ca8 is the plural of the second ca7/32
my god haz you give the best clues - i just turn off my brain and type and there they are!
mmm Lunns....that place is so great
I'm glad they worked, TO!
indeed she does TO - has helped me thru many a grid
we are so lucky in Sidney

Fish must be very even-tempered if they can't se6/21.

A really weird thing just happened: my sister, who lives in Scranton, PA, sent me her first book, a photographic "visit" through the historical city... it was a surprise from her for Christmas. The snows out west held up the delivery until today. I opened it and inside, was Indianapolis, IN retrospective on all the old sports teams there (amateur) and nothing on Scranton. Oh, boy, is that going to be an interesting phonecall tonight!!
i prefer maryann
Have you guys been playing this game for very long????
sice july
since
hmmmmmm going on 6 months
only a few weeks for me janet
so what does the tile stats mean?
ages! years!
Since June here Janet - welcome
thank you Flosey
about two years, janet, tho' i've been a pro player since August7 last year
that's the number of words that start with that letter
the 2nd half tells how many words begin with each of the 25 tiles
Hi I'm new today - does every one see teh same grid?
the first half tells how many you have gotten
hey there Kazzer, welcome - lots of newcomers
so 7/15 for example says that you have gotten 7 of the 15 words that begin with that tile
ohhhhhhh
yes, everyone sees the same grid, kazzer
word stats deal with the length of words
for example there are 91 4-letter words
so this could be rather interesting....
just you wait until there's a grid with 200+words, janet.....
omg
Whooooo! Fireworks!!!
or 400+ ...
maybe I'll change my mine on being interesting...
sorry...mind
have we ever had a 400+ words grid???
well done, enomis.......
oh yes, enomis. and 500+
on the odd occasion, yes, enomis.....

I agree, it's great, cliffopa! I'm going to cut/paste and send it to a friend

good eve everybody! clue for re 7 pls?
re 7 -- trick or ....
se 6/21?
thank you babble!
se 7 --- to se* is to believe and and article
or, se + w*****r or not you believe me, its true
se6,21 + "r" is the name of a band as well as a song by the band Veruca Salt, but it's not a legal word with the r on the end. :) Oh, and thanks, Babble!
sorry frog, not getting it :(
se 7 -- if you are not blind, you can se*; and some of the the icons here reflect the daily ***mes
se6/21 seven
All done--who wants clues?
i'm confused gang - every clue for the se 7 is only 6 letters
to be so upset, smoke comes from your ears
se6,21==to be really angry....and another one =group of 7, then plural that
finally got the se 6/21. thanks for bearing with me.
sa 5/12?
sa5,12==plural for bone at base of spine. sa + gambling table for shooting ***ps
sa 5 -- not republicans but demo***ts
ty
the re 5/10 after to sit again
to use your eyes again
and the 6 is the plural
got it
The ap 6 please? Will I hate myself....
Gotta get dinner going--be right back
ap + te4 (exam)
ap + an exam
don't hate
Yep. I hate myself... Thank ye!
:-)
Have you ever stared at the grid for a word like that, and said to yourself, it doesn't connect? :/
hello babblers
Don't hate yourself for not seeing a word, Lori. Think of it as the word not revealing itself to you in an obvious manner, and the clue is an aid.
all the time lori, all the time
Yes! Sometimes I get a clue and type in the word, THEN figure out how the tiles connect.
Glad I'm not the only one... :)
Hi tingy
G'd evening tingy

Hello, renfield..... we are shy
hello rab...we are bold
babble can I ask, do you just know a word like that, and if so when do you use it (or were you monkey typing?)
I am new today - is there some place to get clues?
go to lickety at the bottom of this screen. You then make a double window and go from there
In lickety there are word lists, so open more windows as needed
hey kazzer...at the bottom of the page is information in angelsong, bab anon, and lickety's web bages...welcome and enjoy!!!
No, spanner, I am a methodical plodder that likely knows less than ten percent of the meanings for the words in the grid.
The first (I think) st 5/18 please?
When you use lickety you need to type into both lists
Thank god, I thought it was just me - but whenever I have time to play I always scan the chat for your clues...!!!
we use the te 5 here is texas....almost like the spanish version of texas

185 words. Yea! Done. Now I can sleep.
not that we don't have shootings but not so far at schools
we didn't used to have school shootings either Andree -- ten years ago they were very rare and only in big cities. Now, it seems kids think that's the way to handle disputes. I can only assume their getting their ideas from movies and video games...
and the grass is not all that green tea where the drought is really bad
hee hee
yay, lori
there was another school shooting????

I do make them wear underwear now, but I don't really care if they don't want to wear clothes at home--they are normally changing in and out of costumes all day anyway

I actually took roller skating figure skating lessons and had dreams to compete ;)

My fund increases whenever my sister tells me that I sound just like our mom or dad.

Disgusting all this rubbish about trying to stop the haka. It surely can't be about grown men being scared of it could it? LOL

I LOVE the haka!
Oh - have you not heard - many countries are trying to deemphasise it. There was a reall whoo ha in Wales - to the point the All Blacks decided to do the haka in the dressing room!
sheesh. wussies.
I'm sure there
are other sides to it, but it is a cool tradition
Well yes ... and it is an insult to us New Zealanders - the haka means more than the national anthem to many
it's cooler than a national anthem =)

my ex played for the eagles
only game I can stand to watch, actually =)
