Hi metal
Hi
Hi
Shalom, ARB, jilli, hk, debb, metalleather, kkiln, Erda, chic, & dilly - did i miss anybody?
Hi mundy and jilli
chic - love your icon - i remember the first time i saw him in person, in 1987 - he did an awesomely cool number to 'secret agent man', wore a spycoat, had a hat, used a lighter -this was way before the stadiums were packed for ice shows & everyone had front row seats, lol
chic -- who is your icon?
grrrrr - ramen is so a word!
chic
Jilli, he's brian Boitano....
agreed, melon (hi!)
what do you suppose he would do, if he was here right now?
hi melon
I should have recognised him, chic!
I saw him once in Seattle too, Helen. He's one of my faves' skaters...
chic- do you remember the skate off between the brians at the olympics, that was way cool too, they were both awesome, i loved how one wore blue & the other wore red & i loved that spin with his arm straight above his head - that's incredibly difficult to do!
hehe marpocky
grey Cs :)

Too bad I had those
some roll - a freakin' kaiser roll!
Still on some good drugs there, Melon?
Too bad I had those.
hi everyone
yep & then there was that special with just him on some frozen lake in the middle of nowhere in canada - that was beautiful
debb -- Great Athletes is the theme...
Hi saphyre
oops better change my icon
best atheletes debbs!
jelly roll melonhead

gry Q :) - now i will put the cursor back in the grid . . . .
i'll be cheering you on melon - bye libdawger
jili - i remember watching that as a kid & just being glued to the tv & had tears in my eyes by the end - then i saw it just recently & i sadly all i could think was, 'what was the big deal' - it's nothing compared to what they do now - but i sure remember how awe-struck i was!
good nite lbd - thanks for your help, wouldn't have finished without you
am7 :)
agreed, helen, but they broke ground and opened the door for todays' pyrotechnics
that's for sure jili
Diets suck, melon! @ excellent new books are 'The Idiot's guide to Healthy Weight Loss' and 'You on a diet'
on the other had -- how often today have you been so emotionally affected by ice dancers?
hmmm, i was going to go with flo-jo, but i think now i'll go with my all-time favorite ice dancers, brb - oh no, or should i go with my all-time favorite pairs - decisions, decisions ---- what to do?
greyed the D, hehe
i plain & simple eat too much. my triglycerides are up, tho cholestreols are just right - the trig's are from being overweight and eating too many simple carbs. once i'm back on the bike I will be able to eat a little more. right now, i turn to celer stalks or unsweetened herbal tea to cope.
the last ice dancers to take my breath away were b & b - bestiamanova & bukin - - - although there was that other couple that later got divorced, i can't remember their names - going to go with the pairs, i can always change later
grey A :)
what's up jilli? i got the D now!
we are sooo clever, melon!
In late in the chat - but the ones I will always remember helen are torville and dean
oa7 X 2 :)
angb -- did you see my icon?
oh well, melon, if you're going to be like THAT....
hey melon -- thank you
Aaah - it has not changed from yesterday's - saw it on your profile. Lord - those two gave me ... unmentionables
They changed the term from ICE dance to Ice DANCE.
got one oa7, thanks, melon
s'OK ARB.
and the other one
Hi all! Hope everyone is in rare form tonight!
halfway and i got all the 7s - close enough for jazz. clues for the 7s anyone?
what is the 4th one besides the oa's and am?
hi babbz -- and who is your icon-man?
way to go, jilli - you kept me in suspense!
re, what else?
Michael Jordan
babbz dude is #23
like Erda said. . .
ah got it. thanks melon!
well, some of the babbler don't watch the NBA
babblers
laila tov everyone. happy to say i'm feeling good - but my sleep habits - - - oy.
laila tov melon - sweet dreams!
True true, jillibus, but I guess if I had to name an amazing athlete, he'd be tops on the list. I'm from Chicago, so have some bias!
melon, don't go on a diet now -- just heal and lose wieght later!
babbz - i well remember his 69 pt run against the Cavs - poor, poor, Craig Ehlo!
nite melon
babbz -- for the sake of those who are igonorant, how about introducing him in your profile?
troth
oops -- sorry
good one, erda ;)
ty
chic i just watched a program on "you on a diet" this evening with dr. oz. Great program...I bought the book and haven't read much of it yet, but plan to do so ASAP!
jilli, I'm eating well - lots of lean protein, dairy, & vegs - it's just i'm so inactive. and I do get in a rice pudding once a day, so I'm not suffering. but thanks for reminding me to not overdo it. i'm sure giving up nighttime ice cream binges won't impede my recovery.
Melon, can you give me a hint on the am 7 -- my fingers have been worked to the bone and it eludes me.
what we swam around in antepartum - different suffix
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
Babbz, I've only read a few chapters but it's very good and it does coincide with the other book. I just can't diet anymore, so I had to get smart about it.
aaaaaah, indeed! 'nite all {poof}
I also got me a personal trainer that I work with twice a week, to get me going.
finally - back with my icon - geez everytime i go to google images i spend an awful lot of time just looking at pictures, like going to the library for one book & looking at everything else that catches my eye, hours later . . .
laila tov melon
I hear you, chic. A year ago at this time I was 35 pounds less, lost that much on Weight Watchers Core program but apparently had my head screwed on wrong for the past year and gained it all back. I'm with you - I just can't diet anymore. It has to be a life change.
hi everyone. suffering from some insomnia tonight. helen, i love your icon
hiya abe
Hey Debb!
helen -- good choice of icon!
hi abe
helen were they the ones that beat out the Canadians at last Olympics?
Hi Jillibus. great icon too!
thanks, abe
Hello everyone I see a few of us have a similar icon choice!
funny how so many of us have picked ice skaters
Hi Frances
no chic - sergi has been dead awhile now, at least 5 years
abe - love your icon too! good nite
oh ok....
good nite helen!

does anyone have an me6?
i don't vedaman, I am looking for that one also.
found it, joey
its the fishy lady's partner
i don't get that clue and that is the last one i need.......
sorry
She sits on a rock in Copenhagen
i know the statue, but didn't know it had a name.
it's not her but him
could I get a clue of the am7?
And it is what she is, not her name
mythological creature - upper body man, lower body fish
am = it is or sounds like the fluid surrounding a baby in the womb
ty joey
yvw
got the me........
thanks
done
yay joey
night all and good luck
well done joey, that last one was hard work ;-)
Jilli you have my gal

There always seems to be a slowdown at midnight our time!
why bother jilli - different shot
hiya guys
O
I'm from a golfing family, tho I didn't get anywhere with it
sleep well Jill, see you Monday?
I used to golf - liked it a lot. Anyway, Babe was so great I guess she deserves a double dose. Earlier I had Torvill and Dean up but everyone was showing skaters and someone else picked T&D so I changed.
indeed - she did a lot for women in sports
Yes, I plan to go Monday -- see you then
good, been a long time
yes! now *poof*
any clues for fr5/20 please
or is there anyone in the chatline
sorry flosey not there yet, morning
fr5/20 sounds a like like a mate, a pal
replace the N with the letter before
hi sparkly, was afraid I was working alone here!!
Hi there flosey ... fluffing around. Can't get my head into the grid tonite
hi flosey! am here, just working away :)
I know the feeling Angb
Just hear a friend has died. Expected ... but still very sad
it's always sat Angb - lost an online bridge buddy on new years eve
Not a good way for a family to start a new year ... never mind ... gave both my boys huge sloppy kisses and hugs before they went to sleep. That's what matters
The family I was talkin about initially was the woman's family - really not making sense tonite
indeed it does - mine are all out on their own so just see them occasionally
I just read your profile flosey ... are you still floundering with Babble?
LOL - I thought you were doing OK
oh no, guess I should change that - I wrote it back in June
yes, I usually finish
Excellent. Funny how you get to know stuff ... not sure what the stuff is ...
had all the words of that big one but didn't get them in under the line
I go back and forth with Lickety that's how I didn't get them in on time, they were in Lickety
I took those words out of my profile Angb
I can't seem to make that fr5/20 add up !
neither can I !!
fr + opposite of beginning but replace the middle consonant with the letter before it
neither can i!
fr 5/20 -- the word se**e* (appeared) to emerge from the grid
ty gem!
Got it! thanks
oh boy, I'm really dense!
go back up to the "d" flosey
oh, I was looking for a d and didn't even see that one
thank uyou mari - and babble and sparkly
That was my mistake too
that must have taken 1/2 hr !!
you and me both!!
It certainly is a word you will use and want to remember!
but you rarely do remember, or i don't!
at my age it's forgotten before I've finished typing it in!!
trots
oops!

may I healp anyone?

Well done - too early for help as I'm not half way but thanks
I think it was a name of a TV
wd volley!
i'm not half way but things to do so i must be off, bbl!

Good morning/evening all.
Hello, Haz
Hi Haz
Good morning everyone.
hello Jac
Good morning
It looks like the changing of the guard! Goodnight to flosey and good morning to the Brits. Hello Jacula.
Hello all - am enjoying last few days before back to work on Monday - more time to babble
hint for the top middle 'c' (not the fluid filled sack)
lol - I was thinking that very thing Haz
Changing of the guard!:)) Hi Haz.
cy 4/8 --- an hour glass helps with the ti**
Just checking out your butterfly, Jacula - what a beautiful colour!
TY BabbleR
It's a British butterfly, Haz - an Adonis Blue.
(Pic's a bit squashed up on here though.)
It's not familiar to me at all - butterflies have something against a country with cold, damp summers......
thx babbleR
i need 4 more words in order to go to bed (or so i tell myself).... Hint for the 'o' in the midde of the far right column,
or4/4 for that one
or 4/4 - table scrap
With a p in front it would be a plural place for ships to dock
ahhh. thanks much haz
You're welcome - bed getting closer......
2 more words...!
hitns for em 5/8?
em5/18 would that be?
em 4/8 - kill the re**
em plus Old Blue Eyes initials
ugh. whatever that means! thanks haz and babblerabble...
The e's are em4/8 & em4/5, unless we're looking a different grids.
Something to do with electrical forces - it's been in before.
Mornin' Everyone
Morning, Odin.
Good morning Odin - nice to see you.
Hi Odin
Hey Jac
Morning lynxxx and Miss Haz
yeah, 60 left. offffff to bed at 1:23 am with work in the morning isbn't that STUPID STUPID STUPID =)
Hangin' in the Haz...unemployment has a way of making Babble easier to finish!
good night
It's ill-advised, kierlex. Don't be hard on yourself!
Sleep well, kierlex! I left yesterday's grid unfinished and was in bed by 10pm. Bed seemed more appealing.
Hi to all who have arrived and left while I have been mucking around
nite Kierlex - theres always the morning before you go to work !
Hi Angb.
Hi Jacula
Hey Angb
Hi odin
hello AngB - and thanks for the latest bunch of guys arriving from NZ!
odin you have moving penguins - wonderful
Odin - LOL, re the penguins. I love that bit of film.:))
Isn't that just the best thing Ang - i love them!!!
Hadn't read that we had sent more firefighters ... are those fires still burning? Our papers have been filled with the normal Xmas and New Year murders
TY...I feel a little like they one being slapped...position eliminated at work last week...never saw it coming.
Odin, I hope you have good news on the job front - although it's nice to have you around here as well!
Oh, Odin. Very sorry to hear that. I hope you find something new soon.x
Oh no odin. Why at Xmas? Good will to all men Bum humbug
sorry meant *bah - but the original comment is fine too
Oh Odin. Thats just awful. How are you feeling/coping.
Happy New Year! They had todo it before the end of the year...so many had it happen.
fireworks
Yay seano
Well done seano!
Congratulations seano.
Congrats Seano
I'm fine! I was only there 6 months but my old company negotiated a contract and I will get a 60 week (full salary) severance package...actually I am terrific!!!
WTG seano
You want to contribute to the Haz holiday fund?
lol Haz!
Oooh, the begging letters have started already!
I was first in line!
It is odd isn't it? They would rather pay me to Babble than to actually be there?
Odd it may be, but enjoy!
Wow - the certainly will make the 'parting' a little easier.
Speaking of holidays, Paul told me yesterday that he's taking me to Amsterdam for a few days in April for the 'significant' birthday I have coming up then.
Going to look for something after I get back from Vegas in March...until then Babble it is!
good morning everybody:)
Mornin' jean
Nice Jac!
Hi jean
Hi Jean
Hi jean.:)
oggy are you there
That's good to hear, Odin, and Jacula, 40? You don't look old enough.....
Good morning jean!
lynxx - It should be. The bulbs will be in flower then. Haz, 40? You're so kind.:))
It's something to look forward to anyway - do you think the rain might have stopped by then?
Haz - who knows?
I hope the rain's stopped by the summer; this year's holiday will be camping in North Wales.
And are you looking forward to it?
There's also a weekend in Dublin (my suggestion) planned for some time this year for about 25 of my old schoolfriends to celebrate our joint '40th' birthdays.
Watch out Dublin!
so - if some-one could just 'flip' the planet, then both problems would be solved. UK would dry out and Aust would not have drought, bushfires, and Stage 3 water restrictions and heat!
lynxxx - we have floods in our South Island
The camping, Haz? It'll be fine if Wales stays dry for a while and we don't get the mad Liverpudlians arriving right next to us a midnight, putting up scaffolding (yes, really!), lighting a fire and boozing and nattering all blooming night.
lynxxx - if the planet flipping could be achieved gradually then it would be a good idea.
Yes, a sudden flipping of the planet would be somewhat disasterous.
You sound like a seasoned camper, Jacula. Industrial strength ear-plugs might be in order for the packing list.
How is a round object flipped?
Silly question, but what was the scaffolding for?
Weird Ang - I saw a picture of NZ (satellite) where there was snow on the beach a few months ago
Haz - Thing was it was pouring with rain and blowing a gale (it was November) and they still sat out there!
Carefully.
hi all :)
Mornin' Ata
Good morning Atalante!
Hi ata
Oh BabbleR - you are being too logical!
morning atalante:)
and the planet does flip ... kind of ... through geological time
Haz - the scaffolding was to chuck a tarpaulin over so they could cook under it. Well, try. They gave up in the end and opened cans of beer.
Morning Atal
Hi Ata.
I suppose it shows forward planning (tent, check, food, check, sleeping bags, check, scaffolding, check)
LOL Haz
raincheck?
more fun with a spaniel. spaniel, check. dog food, check. food and water bowls, check. lead, check. car harness, check. treats, check. dog bed, check.
lol Haz
LOL, Haz. We lay there in our sleeping bags, wondering what the hell the hammers on metal noise was. I said to Paul, 'It almost sounds like scaffolding going up.' He looked out of the window and said, 'Bl**dy hell. It is!' It was so funny.
I'm really interested in the sort of checks that Odin can hand out........
VERY good Haz!!!!
BBS I've cooled down enough to move - so must get coffee
Postwoman's just brought my post-Christmas bank statement. Think I need another cup of tea before opening it. BBS.
Another begging letter for Odin?!
Possibly...
Something alcoholic may be better Jac.
They told me the check is in the mail....hhhmmmmm
Odin - not at 9:49 am.:(
LOL
Jacula, a friend of mine has a husband who logs onto the internet bank account when she goes shopping just so he can keep track of where she is and what she's spending. The thought!
morning all :)
Morning mia.
Good morning miametro.
Haz - what a horrible thought!
Mornin mia
Hi mia
morning all
Good morning sprite.
hi sprite
Hey Sprite
hey Jac! Still enjoying your great travelogue :)
good morning sprite:)
Good morning Sprite.
morning miametro:)
Sprite - glad you're enjoying it.
Sure do! Left you a message on babanon.
Have you? I haven't signed in there for a while. I'll go and do so now.
Nothing urgent, just to let you know how much we appreciate it
phantom: quarantine
Aw, thanks Sprite. If you do go next year, be sure to visit different places so you can tell me about the ones I missed.;)
Phantom: memory
lol! Promise - partly! 'Cause some places sound too much fun to visit to leave them out :)
Hi All, is Biltong perhaps logged on?
I just used up a gift voucher and bought a little flip postcard book called "Thats Queen Bitch to You". Picture 50s type glamorous housewives and slogans such as....
not atm, Koeks
phanton: ransom
Well, it's after 10am. 29 words left to find. I must feed cats, wake up bunnies and g/pigs, bury poor Joey (in the soaking wet garden) and then get ready to meet my Mum to do the weekly shopping. I'm sure Haz will be eagerly waiting to help me put the groceries away when I return in a few hours.;)) See you all later. Haapy Babbling!
When you make your mark in the world, be careful of men with big erasers....
Thanks Sprite - will try again later.Have a good day all.....
I was on a diet for a month and lost 30 pounds....
Bye Jac *hug*
Putting away groceries - on a par with - I can't think of anything worse!
Later Jac
Granchildren are God's reward for not killing your kids...
LOL!
If only men were as satisfying as chocolate.....
Bye Jacula!
bye jacula:)
uh hmmm
they would melt too fast...
Ouch!
Byeeee.x
saner
Some men are! Hi Lickety :)
hello licketySplitaus:)
It depends on the man and depends on the chocolate.....
and that is why I dont chat... sorry
Kinky as a cheap garden hose....
I was just passing bye - Wow - what a time to do so ;-)
Never underestimate the man or his package...
Hahahaha sprite!
Hello lickety!
lickety said a wo-ord, lickety said a wo-ord
My package needs some attention sprite, can you help?
lol
Hi Haz!
...because chocolate can't get you pregnant....
*adjusting package so no more words will fall out*
LOL sprite
So many men, so many reasons to sleep alone....
Ok, package corrected, Arrr, just right
Just when I remember, there was an article in the paper yesterday about some of the stranger questions that have been asked in the London Tourist Office. Some of the gems included 'Why DID they build Windsor under the flightpath to Heathrow?', 'What time does the Loch Ness monster surface at night?' 'Who performs in the circus at Picadilly' and 'Does the tube line go to Edinburgh?'
those are really brilliant questions, LOL!
There are too many more I could think off - but - it would affend!
I had a mind once, now I have small children....
I like the title one, lynxxx
lol love it Haz lol
Damn right I am good in bed, I can sleep for days...
the article, haz, for people's amusementL http://tinyurl.com/y3yjp3
I just got sent something which truely shows how stupid us men can be (not offensive to humans) : http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?i d=1845064&page=1all
Thanks, Atalante - it gave me a laugh!
That's it...I may offend if i put any others in...very funny!
Hi Lickety
its sooo fab
Hey lynx! Great weather in Syd! And you?
http://tinyurl.com/y9n3lb is a tiny url for that other bee thing I posted
awful awful awful. way too hot & lets not talk about the bushfires and water restrictions.
Comes in cycles lynxxx - make the most of it now, and get ready for the next cycle
That bee thing.... I am speechless. Which is saying something.
sprite - I know - Male stupidity at it's best
Morning everyone
My favorite fridge magnet says "Who are these kids and why are they calling me Mom?"
morning Kazzer
As the rednecks say "Git R Done"! It is truly a wonder they didn't sting the hell out of that guy.
Hi Kazzer
Hey Kazzer
morning Kazzer:)
Or burn up the complete swing set.
I've just viewed the bee thing. Why didn't they put the fire closer to the house? That would have satisfied me. They were honeybees for goodness sake. Leave them alone, they would have flown off again.
I don't know why st5.10 & man wouldn't be there as a word - really common occupation
Hi Kazzer
am away, bbl hopefully happy babbling everyone:)
bye Jean
Bye Jean!
Later jean
I agree, lynxxx.
phantom: torment
bags not cluing the Hs
see ya jean
clue the H's? Greet a male...
(well more than one male)
Now that is a pretty clue!
good one zysx
can't believe I tried oreo again.
I keep trying fyre, fyth and syth over and over - they would be such nice words too!
They look more normal to me than many words that ARE valid, anyway :)
Is one of the Qs an uncommon word? I have the combo, but can't find the 3rd one so far.
I have a qu 6/27
its pretty common Sprite - 6 letters
Is it strange or am I just blind?
ah, ok, thanks, will go hunt on.
and qu 4/8 and plural
think galaxies...stars etc
Doh - that did it. Pretty common indeed, thanks.
I have 3 Fs - a worry, and a pair of what is on my coffee. Can anyone give me a small clue for any of the others - need a kickstart
One sounds like german strange
the coffee one has a third
ahhh - TY
and one is plural fold of membrane - kind of babblet.
Still missing one myself
take the worry -drop the last letter and add a doctor abbreviation
Good morning, everyone. I haven't had time to babble lately, but I wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year
Back at you Pap
TY Odin
hey Pappou, best wishes to you and yours!
Ah, got it. Running to and ....
thank you
Hi Pappou. All the best for 2007 for you too
lynxx, we had so many losses in 06, that 07 has to be better for our family
Same here, Pappou. Let's wish for a real good 2007 though, and not just a bearable one :) *hug*
I know Pappou - it seemed to be such a bad year for so many people including your family - this year just has to be better
well, it is starting out a bit better, we finally have a buyer for my mom's house and my online travel biz is doing well.
that's a good start then - onwards and upwards!
BBL must get some dinner - 10pm here
Later lynxxx
bye lynxxx, almost lunch here :)
bye, lynxx
sparkles!
are there many re words today?
8
I am off, see you all tomorrow :)
Bye Sprite
reins
thanks BR :)
Morning all Hows the grid?
Hi Spanner - interesting for me as its the 2nd one I've done and there seems to be one or two tricky ones
not even close to finding any of the 7's, anyone got a clue?
re + ike's ex plural
ty Kazzer99, good clue, 1 down 3 to go!!
Good morning spanner - it's a little tricky today, I think.
Glad you said that Haz. I was beginning to think I was being thicker than usual..
No, not at all.
I'm laughing to myself - I could really dig a hole for myself if I assured you that you are just as thick as usual - but you know I don't mean it!
oggy
oggy
No offence taken. I have never been the brightest candle in the box...I am always astounded at people having such a huge vocabulary, particularly if english isnt their first language...you know what I mean
when you say English not being there 1st language, are you referring to our American buddies (HeHe)?
I know what you mean about the vocabulary, especially with those for whom English is a second language. Babble suits people who can retain letter combinations and it does get easier with practice.
So you say haz, but that doesnt seem to be happening with me..LOL
lshult, i resemble that remark! :-)
hello all!
I have the problem that half the words that are words in Babble aren't 'real' words
The important thing is to enjoy the hunt. I worry about new people who are so intent on finishing that they don't seem to be looking for words so much as the points to be accumulated.
Good morning FranMag!
Morning fran Ishult, just seen you last comment lmao
fryo
Kazzer - I know what you mean, but it's fun to learn them.
hi haz! hi spanner!
yeah - its is quite addictive - styed up til 2.30 am to try and finish yesterdys
No offence intended FM, almost 1/2 the population of my little community are originally American, we always refere to the famous line "2 nations devided by a common language",!!
phantom word - torment!
If I had to stay up to even get 3/4 of them, then id never go to bed..LOL
It was weeks before I finished a grid, Kazzer.
i was definitely not offended lshult, just having some fun along with you, your comment was very funny.
Not the same grid, you understand.
Ive never finished one :)
It gets undr my skin - I need to finsh things - neat and tidy - also wanted the fireworks
smiten
And that's fine, spanner, as long as you enjoy it. It's a game......
what? fysh isn't an alt spelling?
I know thats why I paly. I havent got a competative bone in my body.
term
finishing grids, spanner, come with time, patients, luck and alot of clue giving, stick with it, it's worth it!!
oops!!
it's been quite a while since i did that!
I dont mind not finishing, as long as I am exercising the old grey cells...
Yes, it's been a long th5/18 (well you were looking for alt spellings)
popping by again. Spanner - this is what mrp used to do - use the 2 letter list and the A to Z word length lists - then go back from Z to A to get them all - at first it seems tough, but it's a great way to learn words etc.
hee, hee, thanks haz!
FM, havn't done that since......Yesterday. Easily done!!
You're welcome, Fran.
And all the players in the house say - get your windows the right size to see everything at one time.
lickerty, wish I had the time, since the ancient one moved in I have to grab minutes when I can, but i will bear it in mind TY ;)
There's also the mediaeval street disturbances (r4 and r5/14) That's probably not what their meaning is, but that's how I think of them. And is that a police sy5/14 I hear?
hey lickety!
hey Fran! having fun with the grid?
cool, thanks again haz!
The sizing of the windows is crucial. Lickety's and morewords are my friends!
started very late today lickety, but so far it's great, especially with haz' spate of clues there!
good Morning all
Good morning hodag!
hi hodag!
Morning hodag
didnt get the medaeival clue
I wish 'snert' was a word. It describes some people so well..
spanner, put that s on the end.
The word(s) you're looking for are ry4/6 and ry5/14. You'll understand when you find them.
hi ya Haz,Fran spanner. Hows it going this morning?
going great hodag, how are you?
Hello hodag - it's a tricky grid today, I think, but fun so far. And it's NOT raining at the minute!
gramma ty got that, thats what made me think of the snert thing. My daughters ex was a bit of a snert..
I,m good and very glad the holidays are over.
Thank goodness he's her ex, then.
phantom: remain/s
hi mia
Mia - take out the i from the word(s)
We don"t have any snow and everything is brown, not pretty! Have you had a lot of rain?
A lot! I can't remember the last dry day.
We've had enough rain to catch up with the lat few years deficit
We have had loads of rain. My local riverside town is flooded
By the way is the hosepipe ban now lifted LOL
And we didn't even have a water problem to start with in Northern Ireland. Our last hosepipe ban was in 1976!
This weather change is awful and it is all over the world!
It's not cold, it's just damp and horrible.
My sister lives in Sydney and she is complaining of the heat and bushfires
Sunny day at the mo in south of England
woo hoo, found am7
Its awful here haz, cold wet miserable and overcast
GFY fran. Now gives a clue :)
Gloomy days, and January lasts for about seven weeks.
spanner, it's an am7/32, it's an animal that births babies in a liquid-filled sac. Think of the fluid that surrounds an embryo.

hey, smooth--new pic?
missing three r's.......i have (deep breath) ra5/12, ra4/5, ra5/12, ra6/24, ra4/5, ra4/4, re4/4, re5/10, re5/12, re6/21, re5/12, re4/5, re6/18, re7/28, & ro4/4x4.........cluez plz
hmmm... just a quick look, but this one doesn't look all that bad... lots of r s and t squares...
yeah une, I went out with a friend las tweekend, and he snuck that picture of me framing a shot
very nice!
Movieman, ra5/18
hi again all :)
hi ata
rhymes with S**** Davis Junior
hey, ata
hi ata
ty une
yw :-)
hi ata
smooth - is there any type of film you'd recommend that's best when taking pics of snow? I usually use Fuji, but I don't know how well that turns out in snowy conditions
missing two r's.......i have (deep breath) ra5/12, ra4/5, ra5/12, ra5/18, ra6/24, ra4/5, ra4/4, re4/4, re5/10, re5/12, re6/21, re5/12, re4/5, re6/18, re7/28, & ro4/4x4.........cluez plz
fuji tends to go a bit green...
that's normally why I like it :P but with snow, I'm not so sure!
movieman, ry4 and 5
just make sure the person developping your pics knows how to use the density and magenta
ugh... ata... snow is difficult! The brand isn't going to be your biggest consideration, though... I personally love Fuji myself, but with snow... it's a lot more about technique than the gear... hold on... let me get some snow technique for you
ty again, une
:-D
4 to go......
ty! I've only ever taken pics with snow once, and found it soooo hard to judge exposure
that's the HUGE problem ata... the internal meter can't judge snow for crap... Check out this site... it may help.
http://www.outdooreyes.com/photo18.php 3
and yes ... but I've got to find a new place to develop my pics because my old, favourite one has just closed down *sigh* so we will have to hope and see what turns out
3 to go........
meh, don't use internal meters
if I still did that, I'd do them for you, Ata...I was known famously as the colour queen at one time
I wish I had my own darkroom :( I hate giving my films away to people!
well, you're on the right track already, ata. :)
Which ones do you need movie?
ty smooth! am so looking forward to being away and having a change to get my proper camera out and blast away for a week!
where are you going?
also here is a couple of pointers on snow exposure in different settings:
http://www.forphotography.com/how-tos/ snow.shtml
last time I ended up taking so many variations in exposure, I ended up using one film per photograph pretty much! I do *not* want to do quite so much range this time!
we're going to the Italian Alps
very nice! I just was in the Austrian alps earlier this year
well... nearly, maybe the austrian swiss foothills? lol the salzburg region
*austrian alpine foothills*
sorry, I cant quite wake my brain up this morning
ohhh Salzburg is lovely :)
i'm missing an s from the bottom and 2 t's...... my s's are: sa4/5, sa6/21, sa4/5, sa5/10, sm4/5, sm5/12, sm6/21, sn4/4, so4/5
that reminds me, I must buy film. Yes. Very Important. must go to London and buy film.
le sigh....I wish I could say that ;)
There are 2 sa 5/10's - I'm guessing you need sa + past tense of run
that was my missing s.....ty anike
just missing 2 t's now, one t4 & one t5...... my t4's: te4/4, te4/5, ti4/4, ti4/5, ti4/4, ti4/4, to4/4, to4/4, to4/6, to4/4, to4/4, to4/6, tr4/4, tr4/4, tr4/6, ty4/6......
pretty snow pic from Canada - http://tinyurl.com/y2tyd6 - my snow always ends up *blue*
th - the herb
And my t5's: te5/12, ti5/12, to5/10, to5/10, to5/12, to5/10, tr5/12, tr5/10, tr5/14 & tr5/14.....
good morning
so when you get your photos, check them right there and then have the processor change them right away...too much blue means it likely needs more yellow and some density
there are ty 4/6's
just missing 1 t now, one t4....... my t4's: te4/4, te4/5, ti4/4, ti4/5, ti4/4, ti4/4, to4/4, to4/4, to4/6, to4/4, to4/4, to4/6, tr4/4, tr4/4, tr4/6, ty4/6......
i can't believe it, my last word is so bloody, BLOODY obvious.......(goes to fetch large trout from fridge)......
*remembers that* i can take photos but i do get out of my depth a bit when it comes to processing them!
th5/18 herb
:) a good processor can make ok photos fabulous
well, my first word is a fish. is that a sign?
ty, ty, anike...... A N D ............ I T ' S ........... T I M E ..........
ty, ty, anike...... A N D ............ I T ' S ........... T I M E ..........
there's so much that can be changed
hi jane

hello babbloanians
Has anyone a clue for em 4,8 please?
amn, it's a babblet--e + 3 consonants--sounds like someone choking!
other than the e it is all consonants
iter is a word, isn't it?
jane, it is when I am doing crossword puzzles
iter is a word, as well as spam, but not in this game
me too annie, oh well.
an iter is a passageway in the brain
does it have the same root as iteration?
Thank you, the word I keep entering is not accepted even though it checks out in the A-Z
I don't think so, Atalante. The crossword clue for iter is usually "roman road"
I don't think it's related to iteration
ooo never seen that clue *files away for crosswords* but US cryptic cluing is soooo different to UK!
what are the beginning letter(s) for the 7's, please?
am oa oa
I tried to do a british crossword once and had a terrible time!
same here with an american one!
I felt like *such* an idiot not being able to do a thing on it!
I love cryptics, but don't get the British clues
isnt it strange how they are so different
uh oh, she said, as she entered the chatroom
harp there is an re7
Are the British clues wordplay ones, like the puzzles in Atlantic and Harper's?
I'm currently doing a Canadian cryptic book. It's similar to American, but there are some clues I just don't get.
and i am relieved to hear that you can't do ours, i thought the english were just so much smarter than us
lol hurshy, they are just competely different mind-sets, for some reason
you know that one in the lord peter short story where the girl has to find her inheritance? could you do that one?
American crosswords use a lot of idioms, and information from pop culture
they only sound smarter <gggggg>
myth
myths
and I sound dumber
sorry
don't know I'm afraid, hurshy, am not such a wimseyette as you
ours use continual references to classical mythology
yes i think that one did
i was COMPLETELY hopeless on it
i really need to learn more classical stuff.
classics and history and literature
i feel so very uneducated :(
I need fr 5/16 psl
fr + the beginning of the dictionary that we all have such contempt for
thnx
me 6/24?
if ariel hadn't fallen in love with a human prince, she'd have married one
Think of the movie Splash!
theres a good example, hurshy :) you think ariel = little mermaid, I think ariel = shakespeare's tempest :P *grins*
yours is so much more *respectable*
..and I think former PM of Israel
ethel
english people are so very good at being respectable
Happy Thursday, all.. this grid is great! Haven't found weirdos..
of course!
gee, i wish i were british!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lmao, no you don't!
yes i do, i always have
could I get a clue for the me6 and the 5 before it?
I wouldn't if I was you!
but I see the electrical em4.8
why? what do we got that you ain't got?
Buenos dias amigos ..
howdy, torgone
sunshine (in some places) and nicer ice cream
and for THAT you'd trade a fabulous depth of classical knowledge???
the nicer ice cream bit? Sure! *giggle*
you know the one trouble with you english is that you don't know a good thing when you've got it
ne 5/10?
NM i found it
their ice cream is soo over rated...
and if you really love the ice cream, i'm sure you could start importing it
ni 6/24?
I'll swap you Greek history for a big lorry load of those gorgeous ice cream cookie things you have - chocolate cookies on each side of mint choc chip ice cream
a place to go clubbing, phand
don't have it yet, phnad
it's a deal, ata!
you could make those yourself, ata!
or should i say esau?
I can't make cookies that nice!! wah! am hopelessly undomesticated
clubbing...? think, think, think
hm. aren't you going to italy? they must have those there...
i can make really good ice cream sandwiches, ata - better than the commercial ones. lol
grrrr! don't tell me that! and yes, Italy has *wonderful* ice cream
one of the best gelaterias is just outside the vatican
I don't believe YOU can't make cookies, ata...
not getting it...
i can't even cook an egg!
well just pretend you're making an adjective of the ni5/10 before it then, phan
oh come on...mix flour eggs and chocolate together with sugar vanilla and cocoa make into blobs and bake
that did it; thnx, Hurshy
good heavens, ata, you need to get the joy of cooking or some lessons or something
*shudders* cooking is a big trauma
nothing beats a cookie straight from the oven
cooking is fun!
now for that qu 6?
a marvel superhero or something big in space
a type of astronomical body
geez, now i want cookies
I looooove cookies. I should be an American
I want a latte...fricken starbucks...three blocks away...
why don't you want to be Canadian???!!???
fricken starbucks - 8 miles away! (that's from here if I want something from them!)
actually, yes, I'd rather be Canadian
are there any sq words?
lol
no, hurshy
good, didn't think so
how can you exist with an 8 mile distance? I would go crazy
starbucks can't be too far away for me!!! icky icky
its awful! the nearest one is in the next town!
you should write to them and tell them you want one closer to you...they might build one in your front yard!
how can you hate starbucks?
well, for starters, i don't drink coffee
they promote equal trade in third world countries, give lots of people jobs, employ any kind of person (even those with disabilities) and they always have clean bathrooms
nor me!
I don't drink much coffee either but their iced tea is beyond fab
i wouldn't even be able to stand the coffee smell.
iced fab, chai latte, frappucinos are mmmmmm
if I can, you can!
drive through?
well it doesn't matter, it IS far away and i've no cause to go there :)
drive through! you have drive through starbucks??!!
it's awesome!! we got our first one about 6 months ago
WOW!
yes, i think ours might have drive through
I don't like the coffee much either, but we patronise them when traveling because the bathrooms are usually very clean
in5,12 please
ata we should just trade places :)

J**** Carter

Hi and thanks ((((Angel)))
No kiss?

oh angel, i found something on your page that isn't quite true. have you read the end of my profile?
hurshy: is it okay if I put that into the Guide?
of course!
ok, feelin' really silly here, but I cna't find the Community page.
i can't find it either metal, we can be silly together
Posted, hurshy, under Things to Remember on the first page of the Guide, and thank you very much :)
oh, you're welcome :)

just popped in after work? em 4/8 anyone?
got it! what kind of word is that?
Gave up with 9 to go yesterday but just been inspired to fireworks by ham and ketchup sandwich!
not too sure about the ketchup part, but the ham sound inspirational broony
Good afternoon/morning all.
Howdy Haz.
Hello torgone - are you well?
A tad sniffly, but I'll live ..
hi Haz.
oh torgone, I didn't know you were ill. I'm sorry to hear that.
Colds are annoying. You feel like dying but you know you won't.
Hello metal - you must be on a different shift at the minute?
Hi everyone....I can't find this handy dandy tip for Angelsong either..
Not really sick .. I think I'm just alergic to going back to work ..
sort of... my back started to hurt and I couldn't get comfortable in the bed. when that happens sitting is more my speed for a while.
I know the feeling, torgone - I've been on maternity leave for 23 years.
ketchup is good at disguisingthe taste of none too fresh bread and ham, metal! Plus it tastes good on almost anything!
A huring back is no fun, metal - hope it eases.
hurting back.....
LOL Haz!
re 6.18 please?
But will ketchup kill the bacteria in the unfresh ham?
it's beginning to Haz, ty
That's good metal.
re 6/18 -- the screen at the back of the eye
oh for crying out loud..thanks babble
raelite Don't forget to plural
only got 1 7 (re) rraelly could use some help with the others
ketchup kills 99% of all bacteria in unfresh ham, Haz. No, wait - that's domestos isn't it!
either domestos or marmite
gots it, thanks
ok, another new UK word... domestos?
Domestos may kill you along with the bacteria!
Ishult oa7/32 males who row boats
what's domestos, precious?
rather eat domestos than marmite!!
bleach :)
Does marmite not kill Domestos?
Domestos - well known brand of bleach. The ad claims to kill 99% of all know germs. DEAD!
I am back for my last 10 words, since husband filled in some blanks while I was shopping/ They are all s and t
ty Frances, got that x2
ohhhh, like Lysol disinfectant spray here in the US
yup :)
I love Marmite but discovered that if (I want the dog to behave I just have to show him the open jar. In fact, I now just have to say the word Marmite! You either love it of hate it.
am 7/32 -- start with a chronic inability to sleep: am*, add a tiny bit, ***a, and end with a vowel
Evening all........
Have you found a similar product for husbands/significant others, Frances? There'd be a ready market.....
Marmite didn't kill Tom o'Connor (loveable gap toothed scouse sprite and raconteur!) in those awful 80's adverts on TV - pity!
marmite often works there too
Yes I thouight that Haz. It is really amazing the effect it has on the dog. He runs to bed!
Has he ever tasted it?
Hello, caitlyn
Hello Babblerabble
Haz perhaps your husband should suggest it for naughty pets. I find when dog keeps stealing things to get attention - one whiff of the Marmite and he stops when all else fails.
I'll have to let him know about this. I should get a jar for research sake and try it out on Spangle!
and me with Hobbit!
LOL. You must let me know.
Marmite the mutt-master. A working title.
Haz, LOL!
hello all! morning. total for today?
Muttmeister is what I call the dog!!!
hey all! 142 walnut
Bye all. Always nice to have multi lateral tangential conversation about.... well... stuff

Bye broony
okay, down to 64, off to get list!
Fireworks for me. Endlich!
YAY inge!
wtg inge
endlich indeed! though today isn't as bad as I feared...
that's because hubby added 11 words during my absence this morning!
Well done, inge!
yay for hubby!
Congrats inge!!
Haz, does marmite smell of bleach or what?
(i like marmite) It smells of all the minerals in it...
Do you know, inge, I have never tasted it, although I think it has a malty taste/smell. So I'm pretty sure it doesn't smell of bleach.
It is a cleaning agent, right? Where do you get it stid?
I heard recently that Marmite was originally what was left in the barrell after the brewing process of beer.
No, domestos is the cleaning agent, marmite is a food product.
NO! marmite is a yeast-based extract for soups and such! LOL
I also like twiglets...a snack that is covered in marmite!!
marmite tastes of salt and malt. is weird
so do you just eat marmite plain on toast? or do you have it with jam?
I like marmite plain on toast, or a spoon to make a broth. It would not be good with jam. Much to "savory"
marmite is similar to miso...
Marmite on toast
I've never heard of it being combined with jam - most people just have it plain on toast.
Just on toast rae its also good on grilled cheese on toast
bleurch! hi everybody!
except miso is soy-based and marmite is grain-based, I think.
hi denny.
I knew it was savory....just didn't know how much (peanut butter vs tahini) sort of thing
Hi Denny
is miso like vegemite then?
do they sell it in the US, stid? I can hop over to Canada if necessary
miso is fermented soy beans
Very savoury
Don't go to Canada just to buy Marmite!
i'm one of those hate it people!
I get it at World Market, though I have seen it elsewhere recently, inge --
yeah come to visit me :)
Im a love it person!!!
only one in my family tho' everyone else loves it
no, it would not be worth it just for marmite, but marmite and to see babblers... that would be worth it!
OK we have World Markets here
have you tried smoked paprika??
maybe us british people can send a job lot over to the US!
I don't smoke, rae! ;-) *giggle*
lol....it's amazing...I just discovered it...wowo what a spice!
yum, i love smoked paprika--great on potatoes and vegies.
I was waiting for someone to offer sending it!!!
great pic of Lucky, Stid!
I'll send you some, inge
in fact, we could club together and buy it ALL up and ship it over so no more marmite here!! (Quickly runs and hides before she is mobbed!)
yay fireworks!!!!!!
Denny ..come out now!!
congrats, shorty!!
Congrats shorty!!
congratulations, shorty!
ty

don't know inge...I know they have it at safeway
i don't think TJ's has marmite; not noticed it on any of my trips there
And time for me to go - have a good day!
sorry went to change my icon. is it safe to come out now?
yes, Denny, coast is clear
whew - that was close!
...and wal-mart
You are safe now Denny...your children are growing
I'll totally do it for you, inge
I am sure I will find it in a store near me. If all else fails there is Walmart, which I hate to patronize.
ok...just holler if you can't find it
Denny that was a dumb thing to say..of course they are growing!! I meant to say they seem to be growing quickly..lovely looking children
Laura is 7 months now and really trying to crawl - got the backward slide thing going really well!! Thank you, they are beautiful, but I would say that!
I'm missing an o from the left - have three that have to do with rowing; is there another alnog that line?
Shot in the dark here but has anyone heard from the young lady with 5 kids that was trying to get home to Canada? This was right at Xmas time.
there is os 4/4 . just go down from the o
K.Elisabet you are missing an os4/4
she has only three, Siouxz, all girls. Her name is Kate, and she is still in England. No recent word that I know of
I dont know about it Siouxx..Is she a babbler?
Now I know who you mean
thanks - got it! Just looked at the definition, it's another word for esker. Like I know what that is!
her icon name is kthdn (Kate Hudson)
Thanx inge. sorry about being fuzzy on the details. I haven't seen any posts lately either. I sure pray she's okay.
Did she break up with her husband?
She still doesn,t have the money for her plane tickets. Yes, he has left her for another gal
I was talking to her for a long time when she couldnt find him after his disapearance after work! on a Sunday morning..poor poor girl
What lousy timing! Mmm, won't go down that road!!
and it turned out he spent the night with the other women!!!
*woman! made it sound worse than it is
PIG! (ooops)
I am sure she is okay, inge. She is a resourceful young woman, and has had some good advice from people in the log at least.
Siouxx that was very mild.LOL!!
Restraint is the resolution for the new year!
I am refraining from using all the lovely, genteel expressions I used when I was in the Navy to describe kate's situation... but I think it's abysmally dismal.
She sounded very down last time I saw her post - pinning all her hopes on something that was unlikely to happen. I hope she is busy getting a plan B in place now...
I agree with you , stid...seems a little SNAFU
stid it cant be as bad as the thoughts i have in my mind right now
I feel for her and her plight but sometimes you just have to step back and re evaluate.
(especailly the FU bit, rae?) well -- we can always hope she has some especially difficult to cure contagious disease... after all, "he" is not doing this alone!
lol...that's true stid....I hope she doesn't give up on her wish and that it comes true for her
and I agree rae, this may be an opportunity in disguise, a chance for kate to improve her life in ways she didn't think she could.
stid you are a girl after my own heart
F*I*R*E*W*O*R*K*S

Great clue BabbleR
Hi stid, long time, no see
never heard of em4/8 and t'would appear the dictionary hasn't either!
sort of an acronym for *lectrical *agnetic *ield(s)
there was a *pop*group called emf but it certainly wasn't an acronym for that!
no kidding, pida! I have been away most of the daytimes because the kids were on vacation!
how are you doing?
MA 6/21 please?
NVM, just monkeyed it.
ma 6 --- male and emperor heroh***
thanks though BabbleRabble -- was trying to think how to clue it! :-)
I;m doing fine, now. My job is over for a couple of months, until the next season. I averaged *82* hrs a week, for 8 weeks. So there wasn't much time for Babble, and never any time for chat......
oh man, pida! that's just horribible! (as tigger always says) glad you get a break now.
I'm semi-retired, on SS, so the money comes in handy, especially the overtime....... but I couldn't do it year around.
what kind of work do you do pida?
I'm a shipping agent (in charge of loading trucks and doing inventory) for a tomato packing house.
yes, my in-laws are getting to the point where they are getting their retirement (they're 70 now) but still my father in law still likes to work -- had to actually until this year, much of their retirement portfolio had been in Enron stock.
RE 6/18 please?
back of the eye stid
ok... I worked a seasonal job a few years back... in a bakery which ships fruitcakes all over the world. they start in early august with small production and some international shipping and gradually get to breakneck pace in production and shipping all the way up to Christmas/New Year's... then drop back down keeping only a few in the order dept. and a few extra in production until they gear up in Feb. for the Easter production.
Hi all, heard you've been asking after me so I've decided to come in for a chat and do the grid
firewords, Denny!
yay stid!!!
hi Kate, it's good to see you here today. {{{you}}}
hi kate! we were speculating about whether you were doing okay! {{{hugs}}}

I'm doing so much better now that he's gone, I'm going to citizens advice, the woman I spoke to on the phone said they can help with loads of the stuff that I'm worrying about, so hopefully I can get something arranged and get out of here in the foreseeable future :D
oh,and.hi.all.and.happy.new.year

kthdsn, Glad things are a little more optimistic for you today! :-)

Thank ye.
anyone need any clues
Good for you, Kate. This too shall pass.
I hope you all know how much I appreciate your support and your positive thoughts over the last few weeks
I feel a bit silly asking, but I'e no luck landing the me4
Can always use a clue! in5 ?

YAY phand! (thought you could slip in without us noticing fireworks?)
hi everyone!
hi Fran!
you hardcore babblers will appreciate this.
hi fran
Good morning Fran
Thnx Stidmama. I had to finish and run earlier. My DD is home sick from school and I took her to the Doc for a strep test. Negative!
hi kate! read back in the log a little, sounds like you're doing much better, good for you!

*waiting for fran*
last night i started the grid and learned there were two O7s.
male boat people
okay.... and?
What will we appreciate, Fran
I couldn't find them at the time, but as i fell asleep the grid came into focus in my head and i "saw" the two O7s!
I'm stuck on the H in the corner, I don't see how I can make any words from it
porters? engine-room lackeys?
wow fran that is freaky!
kate -- hy + "people" word, then plural
kate, the Hs are maidenhead and plural
very weird, fran! *spooky look*
oh ty stid
What boat were you thinking of, Fran?
only virgin's have these HY words
sure enough, i plugged them in just now and there they were!
lol pida!
anyway, just had to share that in case other babblers dream of the grid and thought they were alone. :-)
Fran, thanks for letting me know that I am not the only one. I keep wondeirng whether I should take a break in order not to see the grid in my sleep
pida -- have you been to arborsmith.com? I met this man last year at the Seattle Flower and Garden show... He does fun things with trees.
no inge, it may not be normal in the general population, but i think a lot of babblers dream of the grid.
I've never dreamt of a grid before, but I haven't played much before I go to sleep before either
any clues for the o7s?
BBS - coffee & Lickety to get - 22 left
o7's are males who sail

q6/27 think a star
1 clue Q 6/27 farthest known object in the universe, 2 q 4/8 rhymes with codm=, q 5/18 plural of previous
ok, some of the words will be really weird to you. But some of them should be pretty easy. Sometimes you can just sort of type in a bunch of letters that connect and get words. Once you find a word, look to see if you can put an "s" on it, or an "er" or an "ier" to make it longer. Start with the 4 letters and then work up. If you need help, then ask.
Oops should be cod - typing is degenerating again
even a lot of 3 letter words (like the one Kazzar just said) is in the grid with a plural after them.
i definetly need help
my oldr sis wants to kno if soarani is a word in da dic..
NO
you can also watch the clues other people are giving and try to figure it out. If you can't understand a clue, you can go to the bottom of the page to Angelsong's and then get a reverse dictionary where you type in the definition and it gives you possible answers.
But you can get 2 4 letter word if you split and use middle letter twice
Once you get a word, then if you click on the question mark next to it in the word list, you can get the definition for what it means, and then it will help you remember it.
ok
everyone hears a drumrole heeeeeellllllllooooooooo all
hello mousey
did you get those two words from that split word? If so, one of them can be made plural by adding an "s". That will give you three more words total.

44 points so far. What's the average points per puzzle? 100 or so?

eyeman, total points on this puzzle is 1576.
Really??? Holy Cow!
Average is about 2,500 points, I guess.
it's not really that hard when you start adding up the points for the words. The bigger the word, the more the points.
Good evening Babblers.
Don't be put off Eyeman. It's not as bad as it sounds.
Hi Scrabbler. How are you this fine evening?
I'm going to have to go now. Hope you all have a good evening. Good luck all and don't give up monkey girl! If you need help don't just ask for clues, tell the chat what letter you need clues for. People here are really nice.

Are you sure about that ma5????
Scrabbler - the ma6 sounds a bit like part of an ignition system.
Ah! Okay monkey girl. Thank you.
Hi Ping
Scrabbler - re the ma5 - Yes. ma4/5 with 2 same vowels in middle, not the horse hair one, or the belonging to males one, or the planet/chocolate bar.
anybody got qu words
?
last one st 5-14 not the book
scrabbler - try this - male person + judge in the oj simpson trial
QU 6 is a star
Kahula - s + where the face that sunk a thousand ships came from, the lovely Helen.
Sorry, jac--I thought the horse hair word was the FIRST ma4
hi kahlua
Monkey....leg muscle sub the a from an o
the other 2 qu's are apparently British slang for 4
fun clue, ping!@
No Scrabbler - it's a word that sounds kind of maternal.
hey ping
hi pam!
OK, ma's are done--TY
Fireworks!!!
yay, kahlua
Finally I can go make dinner :)
I guess I should actually enter words on the list rather than make assumptions.
Yahooo Kahlua
Well done, Kahlua.
Scrabbler - I tend to do most of my words on paper.
wtg kahlua!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There's an idea--easier than typing them into the list
that is interesting, jac
Woo Hoo Kahlua
do you write the grid on paper first?
clue fo ma6/21 please
Ping - Yes, I do. We have a template with a blank grid on it and fill it in unless the grid is only small (150) or less.
1st 6t letter of a Canadian Province
andree, see my clue from 7:42
Good lcue--ph
that
*clue
that is very interesting to me
That's how it was clued for me earlier
hi demn hunter
Me too, Ping. Gave that up when we got hi-speed and decided it didn't really matter the score. One-step was easier!
FIREWORKS!:)
hooray for jacula!
ping, was it about the judge
yay jac
Woo Hoo Jac!
hi, guy///hooray Jac!
yes, andree
Thank you! *bows* LOL. Should I weep copiously like Gwyneth Paltrow now and thank everyone I've ever know or met??? Or shall I pass on that?
*known or met
Yahooo jacula
whatev
just name all your babies after fruit and we'll be pleased
phandmd - I WAS kidding!
Ping - LOL.
jac, do you use a list?
ping, I have no idea who the judge was, took no interest in the trial
I know! I was just using my daughter's lingo...
oh, my... hardly any words here, LOL, caught daydreaming to ugly betty, LOL
andree, it's a clue i see in crossword puzzles sometimes - could you google it?
Ping - I try not to use a list until I am 3/4's way through or more. Sometimes I end up using a list, sometimes I don't.
AM7? please.
phandmd - LOL.
anybody find the d word?
md's
How old's your daughter, phan?
think fluid your baby grows in
She is 16 years old, Jac
That'd be right then, phan. Mine's 19, 20 in March, and has been known to say that on occasions.
the d4 words is plural and slang for M.D.s
em 4/8 pls
I know the fluid with a "tic" ending. I need help w/this ending please
ni6/24 please
em 4 is all consonants (cept the e)
gramma - - knock the it off the end and add just one vowel.
ni 6 - add a sometimes vowel to 5 above it
NI 5 w/a sometimes vowel
Sorry, gramma - I'll try again. Knock the 'ic' off the end and add a vowel.
yhx phan and gramma
(NOT a round vowel, gramma.)
gramma, the last syllable is a homonym of Quaker ***s
TY for your help and patience. I have 5 left but I'm exhausted.
you can do it
gramma - Tell us what they are. We'll whizz you through them in no time.
I take it you got the virginal hy5/18 & hy6/30?
t o t s
please don't do that Monkey girl
hello everyone!
fdv xhgjnuk
Monkey girl - Please don't put words in the grid.

hi ya Jacula,ping & Andree
Hey, hodag--your grandson has e-mailed me again. he had sent me his name and address revently so i could send a Christmas card. PLease warn him about internet hazards. He is mad that I have not responded, but it just isn't right and he doesn't get it.

bye gramma
WELL DONE, gramma!
Sleep well, gramma.
yay, gramma! nite!
Thankyou Scrabbler,I will get on him for that,he knows better. His parents will be hot!!
nite gramma!
Well, then I guess, I am outta here. THE NE 5/10 is the one that rhymes with the rental car company
ne5,10 sounds like rental car agency, but ends without a Z
hooray gramma
bye phand!
hey everybody
the Detroit police department catches predators every day that think they are talking to 10 to 13 year olds
hello dorens!
ne5/10 is what Scrabbler just said and is old slang for 'nuts/crazy'.
TY hodag---I know he is bright, but he does not know enough about creeps in the world.
thanks phan!
hi pepole
creeps? Creeeps in the world?
hi reese
hey all...just spent about 10 minutes looking for the first me 5/12...you know the org. for smart people...wonder what that means? :)
lol, kristin!
hello anastastia nice to meet you!
dorens!
Hi anastasia
thx jac and phan and scrabbler
Hodag - I really didn't mean to offend you the other day when I mentioned yuor grandson. I was just concerned for him really.
hey kristin, it means you're a genius, of course!
it means, kristin, that you are smart enough to know that an organization should be a proper noun!!!
hi pam!
hey kristin!
hi reeses :)
lololol, dorens
hi dorens, phoebe is looking cuter and cuter!
thanks for the laughs guys :)
I'm new here so I might ask some stupid questions. I assume the words we are to find come from the grid as it is. There is no rearranging or scrambling the grid?
cods
heya kristin!
correct mom
that's right wjsmom.... nd we try not to enter them in the chatlog
nope, we babble here not scramble! LOL
hey smooth
heya nat!
but as you just discovered, you can go in any direction. ;)
the grid stays the same for 24 hours, mom
hi pappa!
thanks ping.... this is quite true!
hey smooth
hey dorens
then it flips for a new one!
thanks! I think I'm going to like this!
HI reeses! Long time no see! Hi as well, ping
mom, when you get stuck let us know and we'll tell you about "the list"
It's very addicting, as you will come to find out! LOL
kristinc, the word me*** means table in Latin, and the group chose taht name because they would sit around a round table where everybody is equally important
welcome wjs mom...say goodbye to a clean house, bathed children, etc :)
ahhhh, the list!
also mom, one resource that is invaluable to us is a link at the bottom of tha page. "lickities babble clues" it will list the first two letters oif each word in alphabetical order. with the number of letters and points...
whoops, I think I just told... nuts!
Thanks jacula,I guess it was just the way it came across. No offense.......lol
kristin is right.... homecooked meals, getting to work on time, and other worse offenses lay in wait
what's a clean house and bathed child anyway????? Thanks for the clues.
Kristin - re the clver people's organisation - It literally means 'the table' in Latin. My Latin is a little rusty - but the first 4 letters mean 'the mind' . Table of minds, maybe?
smarty pants inge :) Actually thanks...I do always learn something new on this game...I just laughed that had been my hardest word so far tonight
so me 5 is an org for folks who like to lay their minds out on a table?
hodag - sorry about that. I really didn't mean it that way. Glad we're okay.
i want symmetry SO badly!
thanks too jac...this sounds vaguely familiar now that you all say it. Maybe I complained about it before :)
Hey, Doren--I am looking for the sy's too.
The tile stats if one says 1/4, I've found one word that starts with that letter out of 4 that are possible?
aaaaaaaaaa000000000000000kkkkkkkkkkk!! !!!!!
let me know when you find them. please... cause I'm sure I won't!
mom run in another direction, this is a bad addiction and no cure has yet been found!
yup mom
no, Ping, when they gather around their round table, they all were of equal importance or insignificance, however you look at it, That's how the name came about, I doubt they even use a round table now, or whether they meet
The sy's are those ladies that lure unwary sailors onto the rocks, spelled diferently.
dorens, ping... need a cluefor those?
sy5==homonym of what firetrucks turn on in an emergency
nevermind. lol
inge...you're supposed to say, well the last time I was at the meeting etc :)
thanks scrabbs
inge - Oh, they DO meet still. I have an aquaintance who is a member, and has become a 'doctor' in her later years. Her nerdiness and trying to be aboveness knows no bounds. Doesn't cut much ice at the writers' conferences though. LOL.
i'll be back in about 10 minutes... need to run to the store for a minute
see ya then pappa!
quite frankly, the few members I have met, did not impress me. More of a show-off organisation. Whcih intelligence do they measure? How about creativity or inventiveness??
inge - Exactly!
saran
oops monkey typing again sorry!
Wrong box, Reese's.
your description is a riot, Jac
yes, Reese, that is in the grid!!!!
pam - it's how it is!
sorry!
I'll join the creativity club and elect my hubby president! a much better idea inge
oh, i am sure!
You are forgiven, Reese's. LOL.
ty! LOL
and dont eat up all the goodies in the penalty box, Reese!
too late! LOL
i need help with the fr 5/20 please
inge - I believe there is only diet food in the penalty box at present - it being New Year and so on...
I'll replace it with my pic! LOL
Then you have to leave some of your icon contents for the next offender
i was just going to sasy that.... look what reese's bring with her!
Great minds think alike!!!
indeed. now this great mind really needs helpo with the fr 5/20 and then need to find my bed!
Dorens - Damn! I just knew someone would ask for that word. fr5/20 looks like a typing error for friend.
a stupidhead word dorens...ends in a double cons...let me think up a clue!
nite all
oh look, it's my favorite little poop
Goodnight, hodag.
nite hodog
fr 5/20 is the German word for foreign
io
o
EVANONUT!!!!!!!!!!!
i've neem loooking at that double consonant but can't make it work (also can't seem to make my fingers work, sorry)
POOPSTAIN!!!
Dorens - Managing Director.
Hi Ho Nutsy!!!
inge, unfortunately deutsch is not one of my languages
Hi nut.

nice fist ingy thingy
I was just looking for you here yesterday! LOL
hey nutster!
thats not nice........just kidding....LOL
ah well, i'm a busy girl reese's, stupid life keeps happening.
now all we need for the party is renfield LOL
thanks for the clues, but i still don't have it
fr + first two letters of preceding e word + consonant
not much of a chance of that reese's
why not?
dorens...on a gift tag you have the words "to" and fr**, change the vowel and add a consonant
she's very busy right now on account of her hubby had a run in wiht an suv
to the end
Dorens - fr + vowel + Managing Director.
ooooooo noooo!........
no no no..... is he alright?
got it...thanks.. i never worked so hard for a word
worry not reese's...all shall be well
yay!
that's my last, and i'm out of here. nite alll.... see you tomorrow
yay!
all the clues are great once you know the word. HEHE
yay!
i am still lost, dorens, LOL
Well done, Dorens.
we'll get our renster back regularly somewhere around springtime
SPRING!?
glad you got it dorens...that one took me a while as well
pam - do you need more help on the fr5/20?
ma6/21 please
yes, jac
we'll catch glimpses of her here and there...but you'll have to settle for all these other fine babblers at present.
Reese's - it's a pretty heavy vehicle Ren's hubby tangled with.:(
andree male person + emperor hirh***
you've still got me here to call you a poo poo
yes that's true! LOL
andree--hiroh***
is he okay?
needs to have surgery on his knee
never mind the vehicle, how is the husband?
back everyone...
How about this, pam - fr + Executive Managing Director?
see, he was only riding a bicycle
Note where the upper case letters lie.
hi nutsy!
welldone Jacula
oooooooo that really sucks, my dad has had surgery on his knee twice, and they just make it worse every time :(
thanks, jac!!!!! fish slap for me

I do too, reeses... from skiing and hocky... I hate my knees some days
What about newcastle? Do you mean the one in PA?
i understand reese's, sports still haunt me as i walk into work every day
hey stid!
well done scrabbler!
Hi Stid.
nut... maybe a dodgy place, but they produce a quality ale. :
hi stid
hey reese! how's life treating you these days?
hi there stid
jacula, that is a lovely butterfly!
ha ha ha, okay, i meant newcastle pa
Stid - We'll be getting a new printer/scanner/photocopier at the weekend. You'll get your Crete write-up soon.
yup, I'm a catcher for fastpitch softball.....it works those knees good.
I don't think they make this in the US. ;)
ooh -- new techie gadgets are so much fun! do you know what type you're getting already?
made me run the bleachers in track...euf...i hate bleachers
Someday, we will hunt you donw in Newcastle?Butler
me too, they hurt to sit on!
I don't do any hockey anymore, and not a lot of time for skiing, but I did for years and years, and m knees have taken their toll!
ingy, is that a promise or a threat?
inge... who's butler?
Good night folks. My fiance, Mr REM is summoning me to bed.
i'm butler!
ish

I'd like a butler :)

kristin... If I get my monkey butler, I'll see if I can send one your way too
hey nut are you a guy?
they're proper all the time. But I wouldn't mind someone to do the heavy lifting in the garden...
who left? oh scrabbler, bye scrabbly
well, I suppose nut but really one that works really hard would be much prefered (if I can only have one or the other)
yes, send a well trained monkey butler my way smooth
reese's! i am so not a guy, if i was a guy, i couldn't have hubbynut.
we could share a butler stid
hey nut are you a guy?
or i could, but then he'd be partnernut
oops hit it again!
hehe
and then i'd have to call him jack twist just for fun, oh wait, i already do.
well you said you were handsome sooo.....
girls can be described as handsome, reeses
Stid - Think I'll go for a trust Canon this time, re the printer etc.
no no no, i meant i'd want a young and handsomeone
My hubby grew up in New Castle. Teetoddler family, so I never heard of the beer, Pappa
FIREWORKS
when i said i'm butler, i meant my location
Stid - the butterfly is a British native - an Adonis Blue. It's gorgeous, isn't it?
that's true but it's not common
o i get it now! LOL
yeah andree! reesesyou're right, it's older phraseology
brb
What's all this about butlers? Jeeves has been given the sack.
i'm not common ;-)
I knew wyat you meant, nutsy, hehe
fun fun fun till daddy takes the grid away
truly lovely, Jacula, might even entice me to cross the pond someday if I could see that! :-)
BYE ALL AND HAPPY BABBLING
ciao, andree
I'd say 'night, 'night' to Scrabbler but I fear am too late... she is 'transported' by now. *grins*

Well done, lbd!
well done dawg!
yep. good to be back to school though, i was getting bored with all the time off!

hi everyone. got a little excited there. Jac, we call hot flashes "personal summers" lol
*sending cooling vibes to jac*
YAY lbd!
hot flash=power surge
bravo lbd!
glad to hear it feather
Good description, lbd - but not so nice about every 20 mins! kristinic - OOh, that's so nice and cooling. Thank you.
Damned hormones!
feather is MUCH too young to have power surges! *she sighs, wiping her brow and trying to decide whether to put on a sweater or take off the one she already has on*
hi stidmama
hormones give me headaches
ok I'm back.....had to make some tea!
actually, i do get them occasionally right now stid! hormones are hormones, you know!
Power surge, eh, feather? Maybe that's why the light bulbs in this house keep blowing?
hey-dee-ho Ping! how's life in your madhouse? *bounce bounce*
My Mum's 72 and she STILL gets them.
am I THE only testosterone carrier here? lol
mad as ever!
Stiddy! what a lovely furbaby!! Hi Nutty butty! hi everyone. Feather, I go barefoot and wear fleece! try that out! lol
true enough feather, I remember those lovely days, middle of August and fat as a sow... (my boys were both winter babies)
oh stid, i just looked at lucky's picture! what a sweetheart!
poor smooth pappa!
ahhh poor Smooth! we'll be glad to abuse you so you don't feel left out!
lol
well pappa, Lucky could join you, but he's blissfully un-testosteroned!
by the way what are power surges?
smooth...a common babble occurance. Andree was just here though
stid - Lucky has the smiliest face I've ever seen on a German Shepherd.
at night, i cover my top half with a sheet, yet kick the blankets off from the waist down.
you know what a hot flash is reese's????
My cleavage becomes a lake...
Reese -- you'll find out in about thirty years... don't rush it! :-) they're hormone surges that mess with your metabolism so you feel hot when it's cold out, or cold when it's hot.
Hi reese! we're talking about the change of life.
Errgh! Too much info, I think. Sorry!
ra6?...just not seeing it :(
ewwww jac
I just kick all of the bedding off, or get up...:(
ooooooo.......I'll just wait then!
kristin... andree is a female too. according to her profile, that is
kristin: one who shoves things...
ra - the thing that busts down the door
Kristi, rhymes with the thing you pound nails in with.
rammer
dang...don't know why that got me--thanks everyone
oops! darn!
ra6/24 - very hot male? No! That's too crude a clue.
there are several guy-types lurking tonight: anders, dcseain... yoo-hoo! Poor Pappa is lonely...
*takes reese's choco away as punishment*
that would be the one, reese! :-P
where's babble rabble to even up the odds?
yes, thanks, reese! 8-)
Guys! Stop lurking and type something so Pappa's not alone.
NNNNOOOOO......YOU TOOK MY CHOCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*mimics deep voice* YO!
Grandkids are gone...:-( man, is my house quiet! and clean!
BAD NUTTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not fooled, feather.
actually stid, I think I'd prefer the company of a female... just maybe not one who is having power surges at the moment. ;)
lol
hehe, worth a shot
I told you to leavea them in the penalty box!!!
smooth...my hubby is next to me putting on a doorknob with a power drill..very manly :)
we are all just a power surge waiting to happen
I DID BUT THEY ARE STILL MINE! lol
doug hates sleeping with me when i'm pg, as i like the room verrrry cool
HA!
good luck, pappa!
he calls me "volcano butt" i put off so much heat
feather, hubbynut never sleeps with me, i keep waking him up for snoring
feather, I actually [prefer cooler environs as well... partly why I chose Wisconsin... in fact, as we speak, I"ve got my sliding door open about a foot to keep it nice and crisp in here. lol
self defense sounds like nut!
oh lbd -- I had forgotten they'd be gone already! you want a teenager and a dog to take their place?
Maybe if you ask nutsy real nice, like " Pretty please etc etc
(shhh.... don't look at pappa in the eye, he's delusional)
i almost opened the window the other night, 30 degrees out
nut gimme them now! LOL
*sneaks past and shuts the door so the draft goes away*
feather, are u pg?
ask me waht?????
lol stid... I get that a lot...
can i please have them?
yes ping, 9 weeks tomorrow
wanna go halfers reese's?
that's exciting! congrats!
I'll gladly take the dog Stid! I've got enough testosterone poisoning around here.
fro the chocos
it's real similar here too feather... just a little cooler I think
thanks!
*wonders if she has to be nice to feather on account of raging hormones*
halfers!?
dawg... HA! I think it's estrogen overdose. lol
does your son like dinosaurs lately?
could I get a clue for the sy words?
FEATHER...I'm pregnant, 9 weeks yesterday! how about that?
I'm just laughing too much here to comment about me and my Other Half. He likes it cool upstairs too. Since we had the cavity wall insulation put in, we've both been waking up boiling to death at night, as has my son. My daughter still complains of feeling cold, but that has more to do with her radiator being obliterated by a huge rack of shoes and clothes than anything else. We switched the rad in our room OFF earlier. I just looked in on Other Half and he's sleeping peacefully.
lol, nah nut, just duck occasionally as i throw an emotional fit
Kristinc - Congrats!
whoo hoo feather! congrats! how exciting
well yes, you DID type a word in the log reese's...fair is fair.
i do try to contain them somewhat though
sorry, got a little excited there...you all are the first besides family to know
kristin, can I give you some of my estrogen? I have way too much these days!
oooh, that remark was NOT okay, pappa *takes careful aim with any of a number of double-shot slings...*
wow, awesome kristin! what's your due date then, august 8th? i'm the 10th
oh kristin!!!! {{{{hugs and best hopes}}}}
that's wonderful, kristin!
heehee!
SY words? please?
ping, actually he does like dinosaurs lately...why do you ask? he calls them "saurs"
sounds like a police car noisemaker jane
oh wouldn't it be groovy if the two babblers delivered same da?
harp -- another way to spell the ladies who lure sailors to their deaths by singing on rocks...
oh boy Krisitin is going to have a baby too! oooh august babies!
yep...August 8th...we're excited and terrified all at once :) congrats to you feather!
feather, because he and my daughter both liked thomas and trains at the same time - and now she's on to dinosaurs - calls them dinos though
maybe someday i'll get lucky and add the the flock
ah, yes, i can see why, with dylan. my condolonces
oooh, i know that word, just have to concentrate.....
keeping my accessible body parts crossed that you both stay healthy and the little ones are here in no time!
*sneaks past ing to get goodies from penalty box to share with nut* LOL
Ditto what lbd just said.
taking a quick break... hopefully quick, that is -- one never knows in this house!
bbl, csi is on and it's a new one!
lol, that's too funny ping! yes, he makes them growl, then the other one goes "YIPE YIPE YIPE" and runs away "scared"
me too, kristin
thanks dawg...I'm hoping this goes fast as well...thanks
regrettably, i must be off to bed
is it possible to use the 'f'?
my daughter is really into "land before time" recently, feather
There are ony rice cakes, salad and grilled chicken in the penalty box.
awww.....bye nut!
bye nutty
he's not getting that there are different kinds though. i tried to tell him one was a triceratops, and he kept saying "no, saur!"
thanks too ping...all looks fine so far so we're very thankful. Dylan was due August 15th, so it is kind of strange.
LOL jac
bye nutty!
night nut!
oooooooo grilled chicken!
land before time? and all its 9 million sequels :)
tml: 7 f words
Ping - my kid's where into that in the 90's. We have the first 4 series on video, I think.

ohhhh, i never thought of land before time! i've got some videos of it at school i could bring home
o.O
*kids, no apostrophe! Argh!
o i have the whole series of the land before time.....from when i was little!
i think my sister gave the videos to pearl - her kids are teenagers now - she loves them
my last 2 arae the oa7s...are they related to the 4?
ping, i'm saving your blog links
yeah kristin
hmmmm I'm going to take brake for little bit.
okay...I'll find them. thanks smooth

I was disappointed earlier, knowing how many 'men' jobs feature in the grid that the shop/warehouse st5/10 man & men didn't feature.
ok... starting to get hungry... time to forage
i need to go to bed. night everyone!
ok I am not why but when I get to this point in the night my brain shuts down
down to the last 20
not sure why
night bee
night, feather, and congrats again!
goodnight feather...congrats again:)
let us know if you need help Nat
good point jac
oh I am sure I will, I am thinking I might break for a min
argh...the plural of the word counts as a different word?
yes...2 different words tml but is does make getting lots of words a quicker task w/ the plurals

Now that I've stopped by and shared my Mia Hamm icon, I'll bid you all goodbye. If tomorrow's grid is under 100 words, I'm all over it...

GO Pam! Night all (or till the flip)
what kind of camera do you favor?
I don't see how to use 'd'
tml, there's only one word that starts with d today
well, for the best quality I use a mamiya 645. But that's really expensive to have the film processed, so I use my Canon Rebel XT most often. I've got three lenses: an 11-18, 28-105, and my brand new 70-300
Yeah, but I can't find it. I even grabbed my dictionary and looked for words starting 'dos' and 'doa', and don't see any
70-300 - is it huge?
it is huge ping, I've seen it
tml...short form of physician-plural
about 6 inches at it's most compact... close to 10 inchs fully etended
tml, it's a 4 letter word starting with do, slang word for m.d.'s plural
oh, you can use slang?
>:I
lol there are definitely bigger out there, but it's no baby, either
thanks
ummm, smooth that could be misconstrued...
Thanks Kris
i was just thinking that too nat. lol
yeah...nothing like walking in on this conversation :)
lolololololololol
HA!

I actually had today off... so I dunno
we don't get as many as I've had at other jobs, but we certainly had one today.
ooh... do tell natasha
she was tossing off the f-bombs like nobodies business and all we were doing was trying to answer the question she asked.
i guess it being fine art and all, they are more luluish and less frequent compared to the cookbook buyers, LOL
wow! what did she call about initially?
gotta love the offensive is the best defensive customers,...
lol pam... no kiding
yeah, although we do see our fair share of incredibly entitled people pam. mostly though our customers are fantastic
yes, you would see more entitled customers, I am sure
we get the charmers who spell "street" and "lane" to make sure we get it right.,,,
smooth, it was the woman that sally helped a while ago and then jane and sheila both talked to yesterday...no identifying customer info on the chat--what if she's a babbler? lol
same with us pam
i'm missing one word - it's and st 5/14 near the end of the st list, but not the word that means "tale" - any clue for that one?
HA nat, that's almost hillarious! lol
of course, she'd have to be a lurking babbler because everyone here is so charming
exactly

reese did you get that clue from ldb?
lb, it has been in the 40's and 50's this week!
i'm not jane, but I do have a wealh of information about places in my head... what do you need?
no actually i didn't.
oh, slush skating? slush fishing?
the lakes are still open water jane. :(
dawg... try: swimming
My name is Donny Osmond and I hail from Utah..
errr... dawg, not jane. sorry
I'm going to be there in a few weeks, wondering if there are any interesting shows there, a ballet or something I wouldn't see in Montana
reeses, another word for strange could be **d as in **dball
we have a few inches of snow here.
what dates jane?
hi Jac...were you here for the donny osmond conversation last night?
i was wondering smooth, since the Great Salt Lake never freezes....
ahh, to be confused with jane...an compliment to me, but afraid you've insulted Jane, smooth

smart jane!
You've finished, jilli? Well done, mate!
Jane is smart and talented!
sa6?
yep -- in spite of losing my internet for a while (ISP problem)
well, if we're tired of cluing it, we could just tell people to suck it up and do the math!
sa+ the bedbug
i need the star clue, still not getting it!
Did anyone see my Q clues?
Harp - I am not a maths type of person, but even I gget words by doing the maths. I hate spellin g words out on the grid.
Reese's -- do you hae the os word?
qu+first vowel+snake letter + first letters of what a pirate says
Ok, I need help with the sy words...
thanks again lb
elizabet: sounds like a police car noisemaker
KE, like the women who sang songs to jason and the argonauts, tried to crash them on the rocks
sy words are the females who lure unwary sailors onto the rocks. Normally spelled with an 'i' but try the sometimes vowel.
sy words are misspelt version of the noise a police car or an ambulace or a fire truck makes
GOT IT ty all!

yeah, jilli all done and off to do my own dishes
whoo hoo Natasha! nighters to ya
deep core...I think that's one of the many my husband likes to watch, along with armageddon, the day after, twister, (catch the theme of his tastes in movies?) lol
I would never pay to see them, but i do enjoy doomsday movies... and on sci fi... they are just ridiculous. lol Sci fi puts out so many of these... if they put all that money into 2 or 3 a ear, they might actually be really good
i agree with you there smooth. lots of cheap thrills for the small screen.

whoo hoo HK!
Yay helen
lizmac -- do you wear shor** in the summer? (the or4/4)
YAY helen!!!
Fireworks! Thanks for the help all! Have a good night.
hi, all. for those of you who may not know, I have posted new content on the Resource Guide. There is an explanation of the scoring boxes that Hurshy put together on the first page of the guide under Things to Remember. And, I put a tip for using cut and paste keyboard commands to enter words more quickly and with less typing on the Redesign page, at the bottom of the page.
YAY rhozee!!!
whoo hoo rhozee
Congratulations helenkeller on fireworks!Good for U!
Got it thanks!
thanks, Angelsong!
Congratulations rhozee on fireworks!Hooray for you
Congratulations jillibus on your early fireworks! YAY!
thanks, minver -- not really so early, though, compared to the real pros!
congrats rhozee
wd rho !
Minver -- how many more do you need to finish?
the grid wont accept nert yet on lickety's word list it accepted it am i going mad?
Earlier than me since I'm no way near finished jillibus!
i am going to bed & watch smoe tv - have been sneezing all evening - maybe see you at the flip - bye for now
pink= it is only a plural
night helen -- and bless you every time yo0u sneeze!
I only have 106 words jillibus.I didn't start this thing until about 11:30.I found 71 words in 20 minutes, but then I slowed down. Now I am playing Scrabbleblast.
What's that Min?
Goodbye helenkeller! I'll see you tomorrow in the log!
Scrabbleblast? Is that an online game?
Scrabbleblast's an online Scrabble game for 1 person.
then what is it? cmith
ne5/10: an interjection - mild oath like Yoiks! only its ne5/10!
Must have a look but I don't know when I'd ever have time for it. I have a computer Scrabble game I used to play BB (Before Babble).
night HK, hope you aren't catching something.
Here's link - http://games.aol.com/game/scrabble-bla st/26367/gamewide. Warning:It is very addicting
However,it is not as addicting as Babble, but still fun!
minver -- went to your link and got this message: Page Not Found! Please check the URL for proper spelling and capitalization. You may have bookmarked a page that no longer exists or have been pointed to a page for which our publishing rights have expired.
Maybe it's only for aol???
cmith i do appreciate the clue but it didnt help me very much. my mind is tired but the determination to complete is keeping me up. could you put it in simpler terms for me please
pink= just add an s to the word you can't get the grid to accept
Jilli, try msn.games
any cooks in here?
pink -- are you looking for the ne5?
i cook smooth
i cook lumpy too sometimes
I'm a personal cook.
Google Scrabbleblast&it is the first thing on the page
jilli, try this link http://zone.msn.com/en/root/default.ht m
the clue you gave me before made me think it was spelt differently but checking in lickety's word list i saw i had forgotten the s on the end. DUHHH!
ok dawg... whaddaya think of this idea? in thai cooking the use peanut for sauces, and it's great... do you think something like that would work with hazelnut as well? I have a bunch of hazelnuts, and I wat thinking of doing something with them
I cook only under duress
I cook up words I can try to forge into Lickety's List
I think that would work.
In thai cooking it's the spices not necessarily the nuts. I use almonds instead of peanuts
you can substitute pretty much any nut you'd like in thai cooking smooth.
you're right... and I think the hazel nuts would change the flavor just enough to make it different
I am using IE, however, I can stay play Scrabbleblast.
though, I ten to not use recipes, so it probably wouldn't be true thai
toast the hazelnuts a bit before cooking them. that would definitely give them a nutty taste, where as cooking them raw may change their texture
ok, found scrabbleblast on msn -- bookmarked it for later investigation ;)
I took cooking classes in thailand. for thai cooking it's about using the 4 basic elements
actually I don't know what cusine this would be... with cumin, coriander, cardamom, probabl some coconut juice, chicken and also trying to incorporate hazel nut... though I need to think this one through first, and probably eliminate some stuff... like the coconut maybe
Sweet, heat, acid & savory
yeah, that sounds like thai pris. :)
why not make a sauce with the hazelnuts
in a food processor put the hazelnuts, coconut milk, spices, ginger, honey, lime juice
fireworks im off to have a break before the change thanks for the help smooth pappa, jacula, and cmith
that's what I was thinking... my first thought was a coconut/nut sauce over the spiced chicken and either rice or noodles. oh yeah, and chilis... lol gotta have the heat
blend until smooth
you think hazel nut and coconut would go well together? that's what I am concerned about
maybe some kefir lime leaves
Hello prismmgc2!How are you? Welcome to the puzzle
TO5/10 & 6/18, anyone? I have the cakey one. Actually might finish after all!
yes. I think they would be really nice together
and thank you pris for the tips!
sure thing!
Add the 2nd vowel to the to 4/4 and then a hump letter on end for 6
