hi sprite
gm sprite
volley, kind of like ornith's phantom
ty orn... found it...!!!
and me iain!
ty all.. was blind on that one
and I have another one, Hebrew letter R's
you all know how much I love re words NOT
Hi and bye all -- just wanted to show you Jack
Earth calling iain!!!
yeah, same here Dee.... never can tell which things will be in the dictionary
hi and bye jilli!
hi and bye jilli *hug*
hi and bye jilli
GM Lazaro68 how are you long time no hear
for instance, you'd think that if you moved a plant, it would need to re+ro4/4, but nope.
son and nice kid exchange student visiting so no time to babble until tomorrow -- they're in bed now so I must go too -- goos luck all
Hello iain. all well. just had fish supper from our catch yesterday.how are you and anne? oh and pup
I agree orn... probably why I dislike them so much
We are both that much fitter having to get up early each day long walks and all that goes wiith puppy ownership
*poof*
yes,all good stuff,iain.
Saw Damian the other day he seems to be bright and cheerful
re: made greasy again and make greasy again :)
nite jilli
ah,brilliant.I havn't heard how he has been post op
ty sprite... gave me two more of the ugly things LOL
thanks sprite! i always miss those!
thanks sprite. of course, the person who greases again? not in the dictionary.
still talking about BMW's and motor bikes so he must be on the mend
all those ugly vowels in a row :)
re= got up again
ROLF! iain
it's soooo unfair, Ornith!
thanks ursh!
thanks ursh!
Yeah, words that start with vowels are always really hard for me too. Worse than re's, even.
We are planning a trip with the caravan and taking pup that 'will' be fun
re + put new shingles on your house
and the plural of that
thanks Dee!
see, dumb ones
Fab, iain, where are you going in it?
glad to help sprite always bails me out of my re words LOL hugs to sprite
just outside Combe Martin with the Caravan Club It is a weekend rally
always happy to help with scary things, lol. I am a specialist nowadays.
how about those 8s and the 9 then? I've got the stupid do8 but that's it so far.
iain, millie will love that!
glad to hear that sprite... must be doing better!!!
have zero biggies so far, sorry :(
I have a do 8 and a fo 8... haven't found the last one yet
ca9
lol Dee - better in being scared anyway!
ca 9/60, do 8/65 fo 8/60 -- that's what I have
thanks Fran!
clue, it's edible...barely
yay Fran, thanks! Found the 9 right away.
Must go Millie needs her breakfast so I have to have mine first. Michelle Love to all Bye to all other Babblers
clue for that fo8 please?
sprite, you'll love do8, plural of do6/33
Bye iain.love to Anne & millie.X
fo 8 -- compound word -- missing lower appendage
yeah, when I called the do8 stupid, I meant it :P
bye Iain!
sorry -- missing nourishment
thanks arb!
thanks arb!
fo 8.... when you go to the cupboard to find something to eat and there is nothing there... you are fo******
LOL ARB! and thanks
lol, i knew it couldn't be the appendage, it ends on the bottom!
heck, the puzzle really IS appendage-less.
That word was a couple or more grids ago and of course was one of mt phantoms, so it was stuck in my mind.
the grid is what the fo8 is not
now if only someone had the last 8, we'd all be happy campers
still working on the do, Fran. Any pointers, perhaps, please?
brb, toothbrushing time for the kids
sprite, it's pl for a "stupid" do6
sprite, perhaps it's too american, do6 means dummy or nerdy one
Sprite, it's a slang term for a stupid person, and then pluralled go down the grid to the highest scoring letter
I honestly thought the do 6 was spelled with a single other vowel rather than a double one (if that makes sense)
maybe this is a British spelling
a fo**ish or inept person is the definition
interesting ty Fran
I am about to learn a new word then :)
ok, 100 words left and church in the morning - by the time I get back someone should have that last 8 :)
goodnight all!
bye Ornith :)
bye ornith
night orn
sprite, the last two letters are "you and me", first 4 letters are reversed nourishment
bye ornith!
then make it plural for the do8
I'm one sleepy girl too
go to sleep sleepyhead! :-)
I just realized I get 1 hour less to babble today.
thanks, Fran and Arb, that helped. Got it/them and learned something new :)
to bed then, Jade, lol.
cool sprite!
not a word you'll want to use too often -- it's rather insulting and patronizing
Ok, because Fran & sprite told me to
lol
good girl!
phantom "surreal" anyway...pffffftttttthhhhhh!
why is that, Dave?
nite all
daylight savings time started sprite
thanks ARB, will remember. And hit anyone who calls me that!
only 23 hours for the grid today
sorry...was backreading about the slang term for the do8
oops, is that here as well? Better check...
i've been playing tangleword & lurking - thanks for the great clues, esp. fran - would've never gotten that do - without your many clues
I think it is only in US...we changed our daylight savings time this year
Nope, Sprite -- from what I read, The USA started earlier this year and it's making a mess for international computer networks
you're welcome helen!
funny thing - that EXACT SAME word was on the last tangle grid & it didn't accept it !!! go figure
lol
dave, my kids love your store!
So do mine...unfortunately.
noooooo, March 25 is summertime start here. Phooey!
I am greeted everyday with "What did you bring me?"
i have two spoiled kids and we don't even have a discount there. :-(
lol, my son thinks we have to go there every weekend!
now that he's into Thomas & Friends it's a dangerous place to be
lol dave - and then you tell them: "I brought you myself and that's the best gift you will ever get!" ?
That's for sure!
speaking of the kids, they are refusing to go to sleep, have to help calm them down. see you all later!
ok, found the last 8 and it is a weird word, unless you are into biology and such. Ur8/7/36 - 8/50 Any of various amphibians of the order Caudata, including the salamanders and newts, in which the larval tail persists in adult life.
see you Fran! Have a good night
bye Fran!
see you fran
Fran, you can borrow my rubber hammer anytime, you know that! Works miracles with kids and sleeptime ;)
ty Sprite.
and google, of course!
lol ARB :)
last part of the 8 is one of those weird words that have no singular, btw. D5/12
ur 8
Sprite -- i have the singular of that
ty sprite...I'd have never figured that one out
oops just saw that sprite already found it... sorry
argh - I must have mistyped about 3 times. I withdraw my last remark, it has a singular and I am just being stupid.
wonder why the oo word is always just plural lol
ty for that sprite
you're never stupid sprite!!
and good nite to all :)
hey helen! *hug*
bught helen
Sprite, mistyping is NOT stupid -- you want me to caqll you that name for calling yourself stupid?
LOL! Mistyping is not, but mistyping a couple of times in a row and then posting in the log that the word does not exist... is at least a tiny bit stupid.
careless, perhaps, but not stupid
helen...that was supposed to say night...I need to go to bed too...cannot type anymore
ok - apologise for being careless then, and hope I put no one on the wrong track with it. ;)
sprite, can you clue the ur8 differently, i have the biological name of the order and it's in the grid but it's not coming up as a word in the dictionary.
hillary: er5/12 to eat away or eat into. Change first vowel. Then add first 2 (for the 7) or 3 (for the 8) letters of 'not more but ****'
thanks... i was foolishly trying to use the latin ending.
thanks... i was foolishly trying to use the latin ending.
thanks... i was foolishly trying to use the latin ending.
it should have been valid as well, I think, but it isn't :( probably needs a capital.
A few Hebrew words -- he 5/14 (room/classroom) re 4/5 and 6/21 (alphabet letter and plural) and se 5/12 (Passover meal)
thank you ARB!
Also sh 5/12 -- darkness/hell
wonderful, got them all. I AM learning hebrew - word by word :)
tov m'od == very good!
can anyone please clue me the do 6
it's an American slang term for a foolish/stupid person. Uses the high scoring letter at the bottom
that was clued to me perfectly: first part = nourishment, backwards; last part is 'you and me' Plural for the 8.
awwww iesha, what a sweet dragon!
ty sprite
ty arb
ARB, I thought I found another hebrew word, So5/12. But it has another def. Does the word for worry/trouble always start Ts?
yes -- the Hebrew letter is a ts sound -- when we were in Russia last year, we found that the cyrillic alphabet includes that letter and it has the same sound and is written the same way, much like a 3.
thank you :) We have a lot of words in dutch that are derived from hebrew. So5/10 is one of them and it means troubles, worry, problems. But now I know that we lost that Ts sound at the beginning!
can anyone help with the second fo6/30?
Not sure if it is the 2nd, but I have fo + act again
Hillary, it's a compound word, the 2nd part is a short 2 letter action verb
morning all!
ah...tks

hello......
Hi Sprite
ah so you're not doin so bad then.... i'm slowing down with 159 left to go!! lol!
hey ConX :) Almost dropped by just to give you a hug, but kids were obnoxious and I decided to drive straight home instead.
74-just discovered the sponges
nice thought! I'm not dressed yet and hair is not presentable... so kids saved me embarrassment... ;) *hug*
ive always spelt the sponges with an 'h' on the end
how are your doing anyway sprite?
lol, have seen you before like that ;) Wouldn't keep me from hugging - still, *hug* from a distance then :)
LOL!!! I suppose you have :)
that little a in the bottom corner is pissing me off! have the high cards and the af5/16
not good, actually, therapy is taking out the very little bit I had left of my energy and things are not helping. But you know - been there, done that, right? Not an easy time atm.
theres two as6/18 of it
just got the as6/18
and the other as6/18-you see, all I have to do is ask and the answers come from the cosmos (not usually!)
thanks rolin
I'm sorry to hear it Sprite! It seems like life is testing people ALL over the place - like we're guinea pigs or something. and Up THere they're betting on how much a piggy can take before going completely insane...
ok..going back into the garden... such a beautiful day here...bbl..
phne brb
red sky in the morning here. And the server is acting sick...wonder if it's this stupid time change!
I am perfectly willing to dress in my swimming suit, walk out on the street, do pirouettes and yell "Blue! Blue! No, I am not mad, I am a light on a policecar! Blue!" If that would satisfy Up There that the snapping points has been reached.
Rolin you wouldn't wanna sit in the garden where I am........just 10 over the border into Scotland!
*remove one S to your liking*
hi eva how's your back?
Hello everyone...my, a lot of words in this grid...
Hi Douglas & 6a
hi 6a. It's getting better, which is a big relief, but still quite sore so I'm taking it easy. How's your errant body part?
one consolation, Douglas: even more words NOT in this grid. And hi :)
What's the theme today?
it's still in the grid there s*** but i think there's a bit of progress
good to hear
Hi con. and Sprit, sorry it took so long to say hi the server messed me up for about 10 min.. lol :)
Hi Douglas
While I'm sure Segolene Royale is a nice person and all, I'm getting very confused with what I type looking like it's coming out of her mouth...
hey ho! Sorry about your server, that can be irritating!
Hello hodag...
It sure is Sprite! It makes it hard to catch up on the happenings!...:)
have I lost every one again?
I see your posts, hodag! Was lost in the grid myself, sorry.
am back... Sprite: trouble is They Up THere dose the experiment with just titbits of nice stuff - testing to see with how little of the goodies of life we can do with to keep going...
Thats okay sprite as long as I know this is working!! lol
sometimes it really looks like it, ConX. And nothing much we can do about it. Except - *hug*
morning everyone..... I'm back, albeit still with a very bad chest infection......and to quote Homer Simpson, I'm sweating like Roger Ebert.....
yeah, that's it sprite. huddle cuddles everywhere is what's good.... *hug*
hiya movie
good and much needed, ConX :) hey movie my man! Take care of yourself, sorry to hear you are not well.
I'm sending out lots of "HUGS" CONX. LOL :)

247 ruth, and hi
ty sprite
hede
opps
Sorry your not well movieman! :(
thanks hodag! :) *big smile on face*
hello ruth

morning all
lol got it!!!
hey Wolvie!!!
hi Wolvie
Hi ruth and Wolvie
Seeing as I'm not 100%, I can't be bothered to look for the 8s and the 9 so help plz
Its time for me to go for a while.......bye all.
Hi Wolvie & MM
bye hodag!
bye hodag
you might not be eating, movie - then you'd go Fo8.
bye ho!
hey - ty sprite. :-)
Bye Hodag
MM but if you are hungry - you might like a ca9.60
oooh - ty lynxx!
ty lynxxx
lynxx - now I want it to have ca*****let. :-)
but that dang r gets in the way. the other wil have to do. :-)
I don't get that clue...*bops with fish in advance*
do8: turn the beginning 4 letters of fo/8 around and add u4/5 for silly people (USA)
and then we have the uncommon Ur7/36 - 8/50 combo. Salamander(s) and newt(s) with tails. er5/12 to eat away, to eat into, to slowly destroy : change first vowel. Then add first 2 (or 3 for the 8) letters of 'not more but ****'
a baked dish, douglas - ends with ro 4
thanks...
ty sprite - that ur7 & 8 has been avoiding me....
yeah, very biological term, what on earth would we have to know it for, if not for babble :)
... and that's a big part of the daily day... ;)
Morning all I can't see why you cannot have a ca10 with a d on the end of the ca9. It is after all a method of cooking.
true :) Hi Frances, and yes, I tried. Twice!
ty sprite
hi frances
Hi Frances
hello frances. I wondered too frances. How can you tell people otherwise that the oven dish you had was ca10?
Exactly!
did you see I am in the grid today, ConX? :D
I did I did!!! :))
eros
ooooops
Naughty Frances! But I'll take the word...
well, that's close, Fran, but I am a little L*** lovable ;)
LOL sprite!!
You're welcome lol
phantom word: shredder
drop r, movie
and take fish :)
WHAT is this silly little ae5/12 word that I can NEVER monkey and never remember?
i found that one anyway, sprite
it is a mosquito, ConX.
My phantom word is fusilier
great! nasty little bitey thing..... but doesn't help the spelling.... :(
ae + ***illusion
ty sprite! now can I thwack it?
please do!
*splat!!*
:D
yay - if we could splat all little nasty things so easily ;)
indeed! hurghhurgh
yay, greyed out all the outer tiles and the middle one. Nice symmetry!
wtg sprite!
one word to go and I'm half way
and now I want dolorosa.
good going spite!
gj ConX :)
They won't let you have it will they? grkjhfj
morning all, and thanks sprite forr that ae clue. I always have a hard time with it.......
Do you get extra points for stylish graying sprite?
hi pida
ae clue? what ae clue - I was getting coffee
hi pida. lol douglas!
am afraid not, Douglas! Wouldn't that be fun :)
the ae that was SPLATTED!
I'm jealous because I have 117 words and no grayed tiles...
see 7.03 for the ae clue
hmmm - missed that. I do like splats, too. :-)
*hands Douglas a grayed tile*
I hate it when the time change "springs forward". It throws me off for about a week.
ah -ty sprite
I once did a Sudoku puzzle with the self-restriction that I had to fill in the boxes in a certain order...
time change??? we havne't done that yet, have we sprite?
we did this morning. le sigh
small wonder, pida. Having to get up before you're awake, having to eat before you are hungry, having to go to bed before you are sleepy... lousy thing. No ConX, we haven't, not until March 25. US is extremely early this year.
ah, good. otherwise my lunch would be late.
LOL!
Douglas... and what did your therapist say about that?
Uh, I didn't tell my therapist about that one...
At the back of the Daylight Saving scheme I detect the bony, blue-fingered hand of Puritanism, eager to push people into bed earlier, and get them up earlier, to make them healthy, wealthy and wise in spite of themselves." (Robertson Davies, The Diary of Samuel Marchbanks, 1947, XIX, Sunday.)

scrabbler, i think the early change is a US thing but not the change in general
this early it is scrabbler
lol une!
So then what is the do 8, a plural? I am flummoxed.
Une--I see that you donate platelets--good for you! I used to do that, then had some surgeries and then life got busy...I should do it again
Wolvie: Ur + long lyric poem + first 3 letters of 'not more but ****'
and they're relentless, scrabbler--they start calling again just a few days after each donation! LOL
Merk---add "es"
flummoxed... could that be ro7?
yes merk - put us 4 (the plural one) on the end of the do
You can go every 2 wks, right, Une?

TY, Peri--I need all the help I can get
my ex-boyfriend once sat up in the middle of the night, said on a very relieved tone "Oh, but we can put YOU in front of it!" and went back straight to sleep. I still cannot stand I don't know what he was dreaming then :)

Hi Ata, Wolvie & Caitlyn
hehe, i woke up more thinking "what am i doing????"
thanks for the advice ConX but I always find a pint of coca cola works wonders
ty sprite! it's like saying 'hello luv'!
The Babble virus is embedded in your grey matter now. Your fetus is probably learning words as we speak.
I tried ConX's stem ginger remedy once and it is both tasty and very effective :) ConX: lol yes, that is true! Great clue!
i can't wait till tomorrow, i get to hopefully find out if it's a boy or girl
another word for darling?

Ata! Didn't I promise you to send you fresh stroopwafles?
no idea peri. I find the bought stuff easy to use - any supermarket has it (over here anyway)
I once saw a 4 yr old, brought in by Grandma because Mom had just delivered a baby girl, what his new sister's name was. He said, "Sarah Jane." Grandma said, "Actually, her name is Melanie Anne, but he won't accept that."

Kids from 2 1/2 -6 yrs just kill me--so candid and profound, and they don't screen what they say, they just say it.
:) It's a deal!
peri - stem ginger is just very young ginger preserved in a sugar syrup - you can make it, but it's easier to buy for the small amounts used at a time
:):)
what are stroopwaffles guys?
okay Wolvie, thanks
oh sorry wolvie!
con or sprite should explain
http://www.typicaldutchstuff.com/stroo pwaffels.shtml
ah dutch - I should have known. :-) ty sprite
stroopwafels are a sort of biscuits with goldensyrup inbetween the two layers
and they are delicioussssssssss
and they are so gorgeous so so so so gorgeous
golden syrop slightly set - like set honey
troof is not a word...always tell the troof
they are available here at Whole Foods and Fresh Market.
you get mini ones aswell - about the size of an OLD 10p coin. Usually they;re the sixe of a thin 'wagon wheel'
and then you take a nice hot cup of tea, put the waffle on top of it for a little bit and then eat it.... sigh..... *grabs towel to keep from drooling on the keyboard*
lol
Is that what you do sprite? I
oh they look yummy
and then there are some with chocolate wrapped around the outside ...
neither is doof, yet i've called people that a time or two
elongate feather
oooo i didn't know all of that sprite and ata.... gives me a whole new insight into stroopwafels
featherbee: that puts you on the track of the Do8 and Do6, though
Extend that, feather, for a do6 and do8!
not sure whether the chocolate thing is an english variety. we shove chocolate on everything here
lol, yay, thanks scrabbler!
I think it is, Ata, have not seen those here yet.

yeah, i know - like chocy hob nobs... mmmmmm
Is a shot of insulin recommended before eating these stroppwaffle thingies?
oh! then I should find some chocolate ones for you and con!
oh yesssss! :D
only if you hate sugar rushes, Scrabbler :)
choco hob nobs I have had. dark choc. good stuff
lol scrabbler!
I get dizzy from sugar highs
they aren't actually as *sickly* sweet as they sound though, because the waffles aren't overly sweet. the syrup is though :)
milk chocolate or dark chocolate, con and sprite? next time I see some, I'll grab some!
Let's meet when you cross the Canal again, Ata - you bring the chocolate ones and we bring the fresh ones!
in health food stores you can get them with malt syrup or something.... so not so sugary and sweet as the real thing...
bbl
Oh, man, you Europeans just flit all over

Sherb: Who're you knockin' for taking Rubik's Cubes apart? That's the only way i ever 'solved' one!
nobody ever peeled the colored squares off then?
or did I find a 'new' way to solve it?
lateral thinking, that's all... :)
e top right = e6 pl of e4.6

I aint gonna look no more, no more, done, done , done and gone crazy

i could only do one side....
I had instructions in german how to do the cube, whcih I think I kept..... somewhere!!
I finally got the ca 7 clue, thanks
my brother and myself worked it out between us
took us many weeks
trouble with any puzzle though - once you can do it you don't bother playing with it again
congrats on that anotherone! not only on completing the cube, but also on the co-operation with your bro...
it's like monkeys and shakespeare... if you keep twisting it long enough, you'll end up with Hamlet... er, something like that anyway...
ty con
finally passed halfway...
3 words away from the half way
don't think I'm going to finish this one
moment of inspiration has taken me past the half way

HI everyone. The sun is out where I am!

not nice stidmama not nice at all.
wb peri,hello nut
hi nutster!
will have seen more of the south than I have of the north this month
Hi Peri & Nut
oh well -- I'll just get as many as I can then.
hi peri -- no sun here... plenty of buds and green, though! :-)
Good morning/afternoon all.
Sounds like it you must be exhausted from all that driving. We went on holiday to Filey 2 years ago and the travelling was a real chore
I am eating a serving of vegetables as I babble, potato chips, hehe
Hi Haz
hello Haz
hi Haz :)
another think I'm going to have as soon as the braces come off, peri!
yes it's been rather hectic
and I'm so sick of eating out
*thing
LOL peri... I just finished an egg dish for part of breakfast... (tapioca pudding) ;-)
you ate an egg dish!?!
I forgot you have braces, Nan! how much longer? stidmatt is "chomping at the bit" and he has at least another year...
*sigh* yes nut, the titanium teeth that are being put in really ARE that strong...
I have about another year as well -- so tired of having a mouth full of hardware!
wonder what kind of nutrition that supplies
no doubt -- occasionally we go ahead and let stidmatt break the rules... but mostly we try to keep him to foods that are approved. Unlike my allergies, the only thing that will happen is an extra trip to the dentist
Nut: lots and lots of calcium, trace minerals and a lifetime supply of glaze.
glaze would be good for those titanium teefers of yours, make em nice and shiney
shiny
I have the plastic brackets, so have to be extra careful. At least the teeth have lined up enought that I can chew properly for the first time that I can remember -- that's a plus!
al5/12 please
oops, potato chip bits are falling onto tht keyboard

Temple, how old is your niece? How much time do you have?
but she is going to be 13 so i have some time...the thing is, in most communities allof the women bake for the wedding. but the art has been lost in my family
man, i'm not reading things right...i should probably head for the pillows.
so far i have made lemon cookies and cjoclate pepper rum iced cookies
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
TO, hope she holds out til she's at least mid 20's to get married, then you'll have had plenty of time to bake bunches of cookies
rennie, who is mezzie? Now I have to find a potential hubby
the next one i want to try are the choclate grape jam tarts. of course i can make pignoli
he's my husband twin
chocolate peper rum iced cookies, wow, sounds awesomlely overwhelmingly delicious
and basta choat
sweet and spicy! and a little tipple to boot! lol
Rennie, how is he? I "heard" what happened to him. oh dear! a speedy recovery to him
owl are these italian cookies?
still sedated twin..getting better every day - docs just want him horizontal
well i had a plan to bake as usual for the holidays butand then i have enought to share. but i got sick. and honestly most people would not eat food from someone they did not know well enough to know their housekeepiong habits, don't you think?
i ate the truffles nutty send me...all in one sitting
TO that is so true. I'm really picky about things like that. My other half on the other hand thinks, it's baked so all the germs certainly must be dead.
*burp
when i owned cats my mom would not eat anything made in my house - i think she thought they mixed the dough with their litttle paws!
hahahhahaha
i used to tell her that just to get her going
lol, i think mom's are like that
all this talk is getting me up and into the kitchen for chocolate chip, caramel ice cream, bbs
ren did nut MAKE the truffles? i made chocolate coconut easter egss a few times
owl! my mom use to take my frozen water ballons out of the freezer when she needed ice
yes - nut make the truffles -
my mom used to be absurdly nutso about cleanliness, then she had two granddaughters and everything took a turn
ans an italian wine spice cake but i los tthe recipe. that and my jewish sour cream layered coffee cake recipe
that coffee cake was so yummy - had cardomom in it
hmmmmmmmmmm
anyway it's making me hungry, too. maybe i will bake for the big babble convention lol
have you tried researching the recipes online TO?
You must send samples TO. so Ren and I can tell you which ones are the best! :-)
dawg, i can tell yo it was from the NY dauily news for one of the jewish holidays. sometime from 1968-1972. i can still se the picture of it on a square glass raised cake dish. the news won't research that far
Im back and I want to be invited to the wedding.
aniie, if there is ever a wedding with ME as the bride you will hear me all the way to nyc
TO, maybe contact one of the local synagogues and see if anyone there has the recipe to share.
and we will all be there owl
but i wont wear pink TO
i have moved too many times is the problem.. the worst loss is my uncle's recipe for struffoli...has anyone ever eaten them?
i can look through all the cook books ai received when i was married
TO, dressed to the hilt...i'll be in magenta
i'll be in black - cause that's what i wear
ahh, rennie, i bet an aunt or someone has the recipe or one similar.
Temple, I love struffoli....there are some great bakeries in Bensonhurst and that is where I get them
and for easter pie which iis like kugel
never had struffoli, what is it?
annie, there are none like my uncle guido's...i do know the one trick that made them so good, i asked him to write the recipoe again later but he left many things out - getting too old
i love kugel
so di i althogh i have only had the sweet kind
I dont like easter pie but my husband loved it. his sister made it every easter for her four brothers. that is my second husband (rest his soul) he was the love of my life. I made kugel
what is easter pie?
dawg, sstrufffoli - ot struel in dialect - are community cookies. they are like ptretzel nueggets shaped and are stuck tpoether in a pyramid with honey. you just take one off of the pyramid, they are decorated with colored nonpareills
like little honey balls
hmmmmmmmmmmmm
i mean sweet easter pie, not the haam bread....easter pie is like kigel using spaghetti and ricottta
exactly, annie - they are ofetn called that
i like spaghetti and ricotta
it is sausage and hard boiled eggs baked in a custard and put into a crust. that is the way my sister in law makes it. I think ham is in it also
i do not like the pie or bread made with tons of meat and eggs and cheese
but i have an aversion to hard boiled eggs
Temple, so we agree on the meat easter pie. the one you mentioned with ricotta I would probably like
just looked both of those up. the struffoli sound good but wow, a lot of time to make them! not so sure about the easter pie tho...sounds awfully heavy.
dawg, it weighs a ton.
my parents were seocnd generation and wanted so much to be american they assimilated and did not keep all of tthe traditions alove. my unccle got a purple heart fightin in italy. that must have been hard.
Annie, for the recipe i read, a ton and cardio-attack!i must log off now. bed is calling! see you all tomorrow.
http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Jewish-Ap ple-Cake-II/Detail.aspx
dawg, struffoli are a snap to make

re6/27?
mostly chatting and listening to dr. wayne dyer speak on PBS
he's awesome

Erda- to put a covering on your house again
ahhh...ty angora!!!!!!!!!!! i also needed that one
TY TY TY Angora!!!
plural works for teh7 too!!
I need one more: SO6/18
tx angora!
double consonant on the so5/10 before it erda
light reddish brown color- also a horse of that color
No problem! I'm just sitting around bored, waiting for the flip!
what's the 9 angora? or anyone?
hey everyone
a dish you serve your family with meat, veggies, etc., all in one
erda -- so6/18 also means any of various plants belonging to the genus Rumex, of the buckwheat family, having edible acid leaves used in salads, sauces, etc. Makes good soup too
hi helen
obviously not the official definition, but hopefully that helps!
85 to go - who thinks i can make it?
i also have 85 left helen
don't think i'll make it ...too busy chatting
lol
I have 87 left
Good morning all - oh the flip will now happen at 7am for me not 8am - better - more time before work
That did it! Thank you, jillibus!
Could be tricky, but there are a lot of easy ones, with all the various endings
3 way race then & OFF WE GO !
This was a really tough grid!
big :-) erda!
not sure what the 9 starts with
ca9
ca9. cath
hi ursh
hi jilli
The 9: when you are asked to contribute something to a picnic, one often brings a ca*******
hmmm....ca9 dish with all-in-one veggies....
hiya ursh - so you know, i have started that e-mail on the hip replacement - just need to find some consecutive minutes to finish it - hopefully tomorrow
oooohh oh...i think i found it
ty!!!!!!!!!!
np helen - mum booked for 20 March with new type replacement
nice to find that the ca9 is a real word for a change and not klingon
yw Cath -- and I'm outta here!
yay!! ursh - where is she having it done?
see u erda! and congrats on yer finish!!1
great news for your mum, ursh!
ca7/32?
Small hospital in Pinetown - surgeon there is only one in this area doing new type
ursh - um, what country are we talking about here?
i don't have that one helen
Sorry Helen - South Africa
ca7/32 was clued cutely earlier by someone -- "I dropped my violin ca** so my mother bopped me on the n***"
ok, i see that's in your icon, but i wasn't sure that's where your mom was at - but it will make a world of difference & her recovery time will be really, really quick!
thx anyone cath
tks jlli!
:)
noggin?
ose
oops & nm
& ty!
We hope so helen - awful to see her struggling at the moment - she will be 87 in June - but a very active and healthy lady - still drives does housework - shopping etc - so fingers crossed it goes well
ursh - the only thing (& i stress ' only') thing i would worry a little about is bruising, i had right hip replaced & after surgery, my left side was bruised - they tell you this in advance because they kinda 'jam' it in there, so they have to apply pressure, but other than that it's for sure the best way to go
Thank you helen - will tell her - also right hip to be replaced - seems left hip still ok but she is now getting to the stage of saying she cant wait to get it done - pain is really bad
that's great then - did they tell her how long to expect to stay in the hospital?
about 5 days - then no driving for 5-6 weeks
lo5/16 after the spongy one?
same word jilli - just plural lo4/7
hmmm - surprising - i will still finish what i started writing & send it to you - i was out the next day, maybe cause of her age they want to keep her longer
thx, got it
yes time in hospital cos of age
ok, then good, they will start doing the pt there, if she's still so active, she'll probably surprise them!
i can't even see the lo4/7! :(
fa 6/30?
cathyar l+2 vowels and 4point tile
ty ursh
cath -- april **** spelt backwards
funny...i had the a part of that but never clued in on the lo part
helen reverse the last 2 letters of the previous word, then plural it
tx harp - i tired it the other way around
yw
ah-hah!!!! there is also the sponge lo5/16 and it's plural if anyone needs it!
75 left and only 12 mins to the flip
