hippy - we're probably wary of hordes of new babblers at one go because of a previous experience where we were inundated with the same questions for hours on end. We're usually welcoming, but that took the biscuit.
rolin-try half a pill instead. I've been doing better lately, with herbs, an improved diet, and enough exercise. Also find that I need to go to bed early enough. Also, not being a peri or menopausal woman helps!
Don't touch Phenergan rolin. Tried to buy some more the other day and chemist said they thin the skin on your arms so you have to wear lots of extra sun protection.

well, let's see...i've got a sound machine that stimulates DELTA rhythms, which are the best for restful sleep...Brookstone (US) has a great sound machine for $99. I use it myself to help sleep during the day...

Tried neurofeedback for it too, but that didn't seem to help, although it does for some.
Whatever you do at bedtime, it should be aiding your brain to move into slow wave activity, theta and delta, not higher frequencies.
Just checked the website cg530. It says beta rhythms keep you awake and alpha send you to sleep. Does this mean they've got it wrong?
delta rhythms are "deep sleep" generated...means you're at your most relaxed, just before REM (dream) sleep

for me the best way to fall asleep (when I can't) is sit up against cushions with a warm drink. I delude myself into thinking I don't have to sleep yet. I sip my drink and usually before I finished it my eyes are heavy with sleep. I can fool myself like that nearly every time!

actually, no tv, use bedroom ONLY for sleep/sex, no caffeine before bed, try not to eat too much too close to bed time, no exercise at least 5 hours before bed

no, but if it helps, you might enjoy it! :-) tom usually lets things rest 30 to 60 secs, then plugs them back in. Not sure why it works, but it's often the answer at our house.
