ADHD - luckoly for my daughter, the club's boucners knew and loved her and so got help and protected her and her friends also stayed with her and tried to keep her awake.

it's one of the things that is fairly commonly stolen from vet clinics. i've never taken it myself, but then i'm one of those freaky people who doesn't really enjoy things like being drunk either. so i can't see taking other drugs as being much fun.
She was 16, ADHD, just out of 3 years in a clinic trying to bbeat anorexia nervosa. Yes, I did want to kill and still do!

ADHD - ((HUGS)) re your sister. I do hope she will allow you to help her. 'Annie' is such a selfish disease and such a sneaky one. It sneaks up on the one it possesses and also fools the ones who love the person it possesses.
she has refused any/all help for years and now we wait for the phone call (she's 900 miles away). so sad.
'Annie' is addicted to the empty feeling; it makes her feel powerful.

i was beside myself. she came up to stay for 18 months and left in a huff. i got so upset. told her she had a death wish. she's addicted to prescription drugs, drinks coffee and smokes all day.

as a family weve learnt to "ignore" it in a way but its very hard
i hate to say this, but i'm glad she lives far away.
she's shut us all out now. my poor dad is so cancer sick and worries so about her. he asks constantly if i've heard from her. not since November.
I was 'lucky' in a way when it first gripped my daughter because she was only 12/13 and so under my care. Me and her Dad tried for a long time to cope with it, but when we saw her wight dangerously low, we had her committed. Put in a 'nut house'. We had to do it to save her life.
tuff love is the hardest jac, but you did a wonderful thing. just wonderful.
Its all so very sad. It must be truly awful for those of you who have family members afflicted by it. I feel for you all

She's alive now, and does eat, though the combinations of things she sometimes eats might make most normal eaters want to throw up. She lurches from one unsuitable relatiionship to the next and is driving me to drink (really!). But she's our daughter, we love her.
if my sister were to be committed, it would be the happiest day of my life. she will end up like Karen Carpenter.

she was in a normal secure unit for some months the was lucky to get into a specialist centre, shes never gonna be well but she survives
ADHD - she is supposed to be intherapy but rarely turns up for it. In these money conscious times, she's been flipped off 2 or 3 lists now. Her comment on that is that 'most of her pub mates' are on her side and, if anyone argues, the 6 foot 7 inches tall bouncr, who calls her 'Little One' will defend her.

oh amber so sad. my sister is 50 and you can count every rib thru her clothes. she goes from doctor to doctor getting percocets and valium. she was hospitalized for what was thought to be a stroke and was told she was severely depressed. she called me and when I agreed w/the doctor, she yelled and screamed and didn't call for months.
I hate to see morbidly obese folks, but I'd rather see someone with love handles and a belly than a haunted skeleton.
but your daughter is young jac. you need a good support structure for YOU, so you can be strong enough to help her.
i know its so very hard to watch but in a lot of ways now she is happy

the bizarre part of my sisters treatment was NOT lsoing or GAINING weight
amber - if they don't die, or get 'cured' (in other words they, like I was, hadn't really got in the grip of it anyway) then they live and 'mamage' it.
i used to weight 80lbs more than i am. i watch the fat shows. i don't everr wanna go back. haven't in years. just a regular 10-12 lb gain every winterr that comes off for summer

We got one for a wedding present, and are now on our third machine. They unfortunately do not have as long a lifespan as some other appliances, but it's worth it.
We originally bought one for my son, and that didn't last very long. But luckily, the one we have is about 10 years old and still going.
And I agree, if/when this one dies, I will go get another!

Maybe it helps that you don't make it do the baking, too. Our second machine still works, but the pan started leaking, and to get a new pan cost so much that we just got a different machine. =( The prices of machines have come down a lot since 10 years ago, though.

Yeah, the Japanese developed the machine, but it wasn't popular because they are so noisy. So most of the machines were Japanese brands, at least at first.

what's a district nurse? We have public health nurses and also IV nurses (only IV nurses can insert the PICC lines)
