Mom - in my case it was hand sewing and embroidery. Unless it was perfect it was ripped out and you had to start again. It turned me off sewing for life, although I did manage to salvage knitting from the wreckage of my confidence.

That's great, Frances. I sew when the need is great, like turning up a hem or something, but still don't enjoy it. My knitting was ripped out equally often, but somehow survived and used to knit quite a lot. I even managed an aran jumper for then fiance.
