hi, kierlex
how are things?
Quiet. Very quiet.
i am ony here for a bit, rewarding myself for studying for my final, yeahhhhh
Except for my cat, who wants into the bedroom
Good for you kierlex!
my cat was stalking me last night! meow meow meow. i wonder if the fireworks freaked him out?
Nice quotes on your profile BabbleRabble
Mine weren't bothered at all, except when I jumped.
maybe he was just being neeeeeedy
My cats get that way.
What is the final you're taking?
Good morning/evening all.
hi haz! hi everyone!
Hello Franmag!
you have mail, haz :)
Morning Haz, Ata and Fran, looking at the gaps in the logs, seems to have been rather quiet this morning.
hi FM!
absence of puerile drivellings perhaps? *evil grin*
Now now Ata, bit early for that although you ahve beenup since the crack of dawn.
Hello you two. Are you wanting to liven things up?
have you checked your emails, FM?
thought i could come back on and play, but the kids want me to put them to sleep! i'll see you all tomorrow!
Bye FranMag - the pleasures of motherhood!
morning everyone
Good morning jakes-mum - how are you today?
not to bad, got scan today which is a bit scary
Do they still make you have a full bladder?
yes, I haveto drink a pink of water an hour beforehand, which is torture as I need the loo every 15 mins without that!!
Yup read mails, love the scenarios, any one of which would be fine as a means to end the nightmare! Hi jakes-mum
*pint
It's not very nice, is it? Is this the first scan?
yes, it's not a good scan though. I started bleeding on tuesday so we are going to make sure all is ok
Oh, I'm sorry, that must be really worrying for you. I hope all is well.
ditto from me too.
So you're probably trying not to think about it and not succeeding?
i'm at the stage where i'm thinking positive as I have had no cramps etc and I only bled heavily on tues, very little since then. Though I managed to slip down the stairs aswell this morning so think I really need to confine myself to bed
Cotton wool needed, I think. I really hope all is fine.
My sister bled with both her children which is a positive sign aswell
Thank you for your well wishes. I will be back on after and will tell you all what the scan lady says (are the doctors or nurses?)
I suppose we're so used to things supposedly 'going by the book' that we panic when things go differently.
Yes, please let us know, jakes-mum.
I had nothing like this with my son, so maybe this is a girl?
I don't know - my two pregnancies were completely different and they were both girls.
I'm still talking away to her as it makes me feel calmer
Hubby still hoping for a boy
He'll love the baby no matter what. Have you seen men and their daughters?
yes, I said if its a girl, I can guarantee she will be a daddys girl and i'll just be that woman who provides food and plasters
Don't sell yourself short!
My Mother quoted an old saying the other day "Sons are sons until they marry, daughters are dauters all their life".
I'm used to it with my son, a total daddys boy until he falls over. I like it that way cos hubby already has 2 girls that he doesn't see so Jake was like a fill for the hole in his heart so I love the fact they are so close
but then again i'm plaster lady for my husband aswell he always comes to me when he hurts himself
I do like that saying fmitch.
:)
Are you all slipping and sliding in that house of yours? We should get the health and safety people round! Husband was always the one for administering medicine and plasters here.
we have no banister on one side of the stairs and when I walk down with no socks on I always fall down them. But I was desperate for croissants this morning so just came down without getting dressed and paid the price. Landed quite softly though on my side as I caught the banister on the other side which slowed me down
Oh, do take care!
ty. I'm trying but accidents just seem to follow me! I get it from my mum. She has damaged her toe and you can guarantee every day she kicks, knocks or stubs it on something
oh dear i'm going to have to start drinking water soon. I should use the loo first shouldn't I?
I owuld say loo first and then you stand a fighting chance of hanging on
This is where your pelvic floor exercises prove their worth. You did do your pelvic floor exercises?
(All females begin to do their pelvic floor exercises in sympathy)
ummmmmm . . . . well I meant to . . . . but I was busy that day ;-)
I hate not being able to go to the loo, you know i'll need to go the moment it hits 10:30 and I have to stop going
HAving been on diuretics for the last 6 months I know what you mean!!
Tiny little pill, so much effect....
pelvic floor? what is a pelvic floor? Think mine dropped out years ago!!!
you'd have thought after all these years they would have found a way to look inside without a full bladder. I think it's just to entertain the scanner with you wriggling about that they make you drink so much
*blushes slightly* I never did any of the exercises after jake was born, that may be why i'm suffering now
With all this pee the floor had better be laminated!
Husband does pregnancy scans on cattle using ultrasound. The cattle don't seem to be able to read the leaflet ahead of time, but he manages without the full bladder. Should he give a talk to the NHS?
lino in my bathroom! had to put it down when little boy was learning to stand up and aim! lol
Well, there's one advantage of having a little girl....
My sister went for her last scan a few eeks ago and followed the rules about liquid to the letter. The scanner then asked her if she wanted to use the loo before they started as her bladder was exceptionally full!!!
You can't win, can you?
not with the NHS! I bet the celebs don't have to drink their body weight in water before their scans
That would be half a glass for Posh Spice....
and the worse thing is you start drinking 1 hr before the appointment, and then they make you wait 20 mins after you get there cos they are running late!!
oh no I now need a wee with all this talk. hold on a mo
We'd better make sure not to have any taps running when she gets back.
And no talk of holidays to Niagra Falls either.
did I head someone whistling out there?!
and don't mention the r word as Wimbledon kicks off at 11.00
hear that should be!
stop talking about taps and niagra you meanies'
LOL Deeha, nice to see you back.
Venice and Amsterdam are off limits.
everyt morning I swear I wont log on till I have done a bit of housework/gardeneing but as you know.....................!!
your just being mean to me now lol. your not allowed to upset me i'm pregnant and very fragile
could practise typing too!!
Oh Deeha, it''s quite normal. Don't fight it.
we all know what you mean deeha
ok started my mammoth water drinking now
I watched 'House' last night, first time I ever watched one through. House had the opposite problem, he couldn't urinate for three days. He'd have been a radiographer's dream. Ah, but no, he's male and not pregnant...... Still, it goes to show that the opposite extreme can be a problem as well.
Anyway, this grid isn't the quickest, is it?
i'm down to 18 left. stumped on the z6 if anyone has a clue
I used morewords - add an opera song to the zo.
Hi haz and Kajesmum. I saw House too and his problem was my worst nightmare cos it once happened to me! It was so painful and so scary.
hi hydra how are you
well I must drag myself away.good luck everyone see you all later
Hello hydra - I'm sure it was nasty.
bye deeha
Bearing up. My partner is still in hospital rcovering from a stroke. It's been terrible but they're letting him out for a few hours tomorrow.
Bye Deeha, see you later.
That's why you haven't seen me on Babble chat lately.
I was going to ask about your partner - he's making some progress then?
I forgot you already knew, Haz. He's making very good progress, having intensive physio, but his personality has changed. He's very angry and nasty all the time I hope that wears off!
it's good their letting him out for a little while
I hope so, hydra - it may be that he's terribly frustrated or maybe medication is having an effect?
Yes. He can walk a bit now, tho still can't use his right hand much. His speech is better too. I think you're right about the frustration, Haz.
I'm finding this a tough grid. How about you?
You'll maybe have to be patient for a while, but hopefully all will come right.
I think it's tough as well, lots of individual words.
Thanks for your support! I've been feeling very alone in all this. Anyone know how MrP is?
She's on holiday at the minute, Lickety is still working but she has the children with her. She seems to be in good form at the minute, though surgery is looming.
hydra, my mum was angry and very ratty after her storke, very out of character, a lot was frustration too but now she is fine. A little frailer then she was but sriving around and painting and much much better. It just took time.
*driving
That's good to hear, FMitch. I was starting to feel he didn't want me around, but I think he's lashing out at everyone and everything.
You just need buckets of patience and optomism hydra and don't neglect yourself.
I'm going for a massage in an hour. I really need it.
hello :)
Hi Liz
Hello Liz.
Morning Liz
you all well today?
hi liz
Yes thanks, Liz
We're fine, jakes-mum has a full bladder but we're not allowed to talk about it, or water. You live on an island, surrounded by water, don't you?
I do indeed
Well, like Basil Fawlty about the war, we'll not mention it to jakes-mum.
My mind is boggling
Haz stop it!! or i wont tell you what the scan lady says (sticks tongue out)
Are you pregnant? I didnt know.
I will be good. Honestly.....
yea right!!!
nearly 14 weeks now but have had a few problems so am going to make sure all is ok today
Oh, good luck! Fingers crossed....

Hello Lynxxx
morning LYNN
thanks mrp - all dentists must be sadists!
morning LYNN
ca 7 please
seems it's the most dreaded profession
ca7 is what you pay a taxi
ca7 = a vehicle + what you pay to get on the bus
ca is a strange one - vehicle + ticket price
Thanks NurseGladys
good clues
thanks Nurse, Pink, and JFB
I could just sit here and watch the clues... I am just cruising tonight :)) no brains here... out of order
thanks Gladys, needed that one, and JFB and pink

mine's not awake yet, coffee's ready, maybe that'll help
yw
om 7 please
That must mean you are truly on holidays MRP, good to hear
am sadly missing my Babble Expert!
oh I bet mrp
an5 is a + not far
om7 o+ tiny measurement
ty the 4?
thanks glady
it has taken me a while to get to understand the ways of the mac computer too... so am doing babble the 'old fashioned way' for a bit
how do you like the mac mr p?
am thinkin gour next computer will be a mac
TY again Nurse Gladys - love your name - are you really a nurse?
I do like it! very easy to use and no fuss opening and closing stuff. am still in the old habits of the PC so sometimes frustrate myself...
hi to all recent arrivals..... have been so deep in the grid that i did not see you all come in!
cool... still not sure about whether we will or not tho as I don't believe I know anyone around here with anything but pc
goddmorning Nono
I have a soft spot for pc's as I 'grew up' on them, but I can see why the oldies like the Mac LOL!!
no lynxxx not a nurse. the name comes from a comedy programme. i'm a secretary / dogsbody in a scooter shop
an4 is a + not old
i've never even laid hands on a mac
wow, NurseGladys, know a lot of people who would love to know you - so popular in Melbourne
ty nurse. gc
so..a complete aside..anyone have an awesome BBQ chicken recipe that is NOT like a breast of chicken smeared with BBQ sauce?
lemon and garlic bbq chicken??
a clue for the last co5 please
that sounds interesting mrp
christmas song pink
and not the beer can chicken either... oh..and hubby refuses to mix fruit with meat ( i have NO idea why...but damn is it ever limiting to the whole culinary experience )
Pink - co5.20 is to cringe away
carleekat......did some chicken kebabs that had been marinaded in garil, oil and lemon juice with a few herbs, they went down well.
the co5 i need flosey...i have the xmas one already but thanks
and hello everyone !
yep, get a whole chook, stick garlic slivers, lemon slices and butter under the skin... rub salt and rosemary on the outside and bake... basting often.... yumbo!
ok, think chicken
( once again..that meat fruit thing... drives me NUTS and I am after 17 years running out of creative options)
hi karys
hi karys! :)
Hi Karys
hi karys
hi karys
sounds great... i woud LOVE it... hubby would not even attempt to try it
not a lemon man?
carleekat, try omitting lemon juice and adding tomato sauce
for marinade
thank you
or soy sauce
not a meat/fruit combo man no orange glazed chicken...no lemon...no cranberry... no raspberry glaze...no fruit..period
the last an please
( only fruit I get away with is wine )
my daughter isn't either
done the soy/ wine/ tomato sauce with garlic to death
indian spices ?
( I love indian...kids love it..he hates it ) <sigh>
carlee, try italian dressing as a marinade for chicken then keep basteing with it while cooking
change hubby ?
ok, how about 40 clove garlic chicken... take a whole chook and brown it in a pan with butter... add brandy and flambe... then stuff the chook with about 40 cloves of unpeeled garlic cloves and put in a casserole dish... cover and cook on low for 2 hours ... seive the garlic and serve as sauce over the top... melts in your mouth!
nice idea...but a bit $$$$$
OOh MrP....did that 2 weeks ago for friends, it was really great, they loved it !!
Greenbay - if we aren't using a list and have not finished then it is really hard for us to know if we have the one you are after. Can I suggest that you give the whole value of the one you are after - eg an4.8
Yummo MRP
sounds good ... ( now I feel like am complaining..sorry ) but going up to 90F here..and I don't have a/c... oven on for 2+ hours will roast all of us along with the 40 cloves of garlic
that sounds great mrp
hence the BBQ request
or my favourite... get chicken breasts.... wrap bacon or ham around them and toothpick them into place... halve roma tomatoes and line a baking dish with them... mix olive oil, white vinegar and balsamic vinegar and pour over tomatoes. place garlic cloves around and some rosemary. Place the chicken on top and back for about 45 minutes.
carlee, try it on a spit on bbq, garlic should stay in place if pinned at end
that sounds...definitely possible Mr pres
it is soooooo yummy!
could you cook that in a pan one the barbecue carleekat ?
half cup of olive oil quarter cup white vinegar and 2 tablespoons of balsamic
*on
i do a pan in BBQ all time..don't have a spit
well, that could work then
that one does sound good
and that is bake... not back LOL!
( might have to cut back on the OO tho... over open flame...
would be BBQ...
do you have two sides to your bbq? flame one side, cook on other
with lid closed
nope just reg BBQ... but I use corningware all time...diced potatoes with loads of butter..BBQ'd until crunchie ( with carrots too )
I just put foli overtop and close lid
foil* that is
crowds go crazy for that... don't do often since so fattening
what a bonus today ...ty for all the recipes.
Have just made a note of that recipe MrP, may be the next one for friends, thank you !
no prob! love recipes!
i love cooking but fussy hubby gets ANNOYING
tell him to cook then!
well..he works 60-80 hours per week... ( construction)...if we had to wait for him.... we'd be dead
not a good diet plan then
not particularily... no
I love recipes too, can read cookery books like other people read novels !
i enjoy food too much
yeap... I am the same...and my daughter is showing signs of that too... I picked up one of those grocery store mags that was just a whole collection of appetisers...she was reading it last nite..cracked me up
lol carleekat, a girl with good taste there !
any z clues please
litterally and figuratively karys?
exactly...lol

Yes, had scan (desperate for loo!) and we heard baby's heart beat and she gave us a little wave. all ok

FMitch - not too bad. About to blow down to the village shops. LOL
at this point, i'm sure not mad!
Oh that brilliant j-m, you must be reassured by that.
ca 5/12 please?
ca5/12 = Christmas song
There's a strong wind here too - with gusts up to gale force Jacula
yay jakesmum! so it's a girl?
we don't know yet but i want a girl and chris wants a boy, so I say she and he says he
hmm, wonder if i'm channeling baby thoughts. just recalled that i dreamed i could breathe underwater last night.
ty jacula
I have a new toy
jakes-mum. It seems so sadistic of them to make you fill your bladder and then press down hard on it, doesn't it? The urine helps focus the scanner, though.
Thanks for the clues too
or have you turned into a merpaid featherb, check you still have feet!
Thats what I was saying earlier
what do the top N words start with please? i cannot see a single one.
FMitch - with the all the wet weather it's a wonder any of still have feet!

Hi herin, BR, sprite
any clues for co5 please
just clued at 7.21 flosey
thanks mitch, will check back
have that one, sorry, it's co5/20 I need
co 5 -- bovine and more
thanks babrab
BabRab to the rescue :)
help with the left side R please?
feather, the top of a building
nope, that's from teh right one
but ty anyway
and Rafa will be playing in the semifinals tomorrow--man, I would LOVE to see a match between Rafa and Baghdatis!
feather, left, right, confusing to me, teacher kept taking pencil out of my left hand and putting in my right hand for an entire year, done me in
lol, that's ok!
Feather--two variations on spelling the same ra4. The 1st is r + all vowels. THe 2nd substitutes the sometimes vowel. Think rugs
feather, am lefthanded to this day but can do many things with my right that I cant do with my left
ah, i thought i tried that vowel one! must have had them in the wrong order. ty!
got em both
:)
I'm same Annie - swing golf club, baseball bat, etc. right handed
flosey, I can write righthanded but I am much more comfortable lefthanded so it worked out...many years ago
ah, I can't write R/H nor can I swing L/H
the theory is, you're born either right-handed or random-handed. If you are born random-handed, you have a 50% chance of being right or left handed
how long is the NO word?
4 letters
ty, better be able to monkey that then!
you can tell which you were born as by looking at the direction the whorl in your hair on your head goes: clockwise: right-handed. counter-Clockwise: random-handed
i'm pretty sure daniel's left handed, and he swirls clockwise
no4/5 the status quo
me too feather
c rea
I am sorry
ty une! i'd have gotten there eventually...i hope
brb computer has had a melt down
clue for am 5/14

hi scrabbler

hi scrabbler
hi scrabbler
z0 6 -- -add an opera solo
TY, BR!
oh thanks babrab - had struggled with that one
hi Scrabbler
zo 4 -- add, know **ght from wrong
i'm not getting the body flush yet...
jesdraggon sent me a photo of the baby bat she is caring for--actually kind of cute. She wants to convert me to a bat lover after hearing my story of one in my home and the colony in my attic.
me neither
did it work scrabs? are you converted?
fe 5 -- **em* ... i gave a bad clue before
Well, it is very cute and tiny, but bat faces give me the creeps---those teeth and ears.....heebie-jeebies
the O words are hiding from me this morning... but then again, i DID just start! hehe
i'm with you scrabbler, had one of the creatures in my home once and scared the dickens out of me
Good morning Featherbee
hey lori! i'm on aim
oh but you aren't! lol
That was me trying to IM you will the strange name. Didn't mean to scare you away
oh! i went and blocked you! lol!
hang on, lemme unblock
I thought maybe
Nono--it was 3 summers ago this month--it flew across my living room while I was watching TV, went upstairs into my bedroom and I saw it hanging off of the skylight staring at me. I almost puked.
ok try again
I will talk to you over there then bye everyone here
oc 5 -- atlantic pacific indian
z clues? i cant figure them out yet
hello Scrabbler, LC, Eva, Minka et al...
a clue for the 2nd pa5/12 please babble heas
oc 5 -- yea shall harvest ***p what yea shall sew
hey, pink :-)
i'll bbl guys
*heads
i can imagine Scrabbler! and when they come in from the wild you never know but what they may be rabid
oc 6 -- add a vowel to the end of the sew one
thanks babblerabble
howy une
TY BR
of 4--- add, aw** in the manger
Nono--it made me even more sick when the guy from the exterminator place climbed into my upstairs crawlspace/attice and said I had a "colony" of them up there. I had non-paying tenants!
ty babble
my computer is busted my daughter spilt her juice on the heyboard and certain letters dont work properly unless i really hit the key hard, especially the d
i hope you "evicted" them quickly!
clue for second oc5/12 please?
Bats are not permitted to be exterminated but, rather, shifted outside into bathouses--an expensive ($2000) process over a few wks
does any1 have the 2nd pa5/12
o + what we do to a book
need both pa5
is that a local law Scrabbler?
Lil---a new keyboard is less expensive than a new computer though
oc + what we do to a book
(lori, keep trying if you are still around...i opened it up to all users to contact me)
its a laptop scrabbler
pink someone the other day said she rinsed her keyboard in warm water let dry for a couple days and was good as new
Oh, Lil, now I am feeling ill for your situation......ooooooohhhhhhhh noooooooooo
ok geez not good on a laptop
Yes, Nono---a conservation law
try pulling the individual key caps off, using a q tip to clean, and snapping them back on. it's a little tricky to get them back on, but possible.
can you hook up external keyboard to it?
what we do TO not WITH a book?
the "d" isn't working properly so when i type i have to bang extra hard on it and sometimes it doesn't work so i apologise in advance
My friend called. Lake Erie is calm today so we will kayak on the big lake today. Yippee.
i tried that feather and it worked on most of the other letters, but i broke the "z" pad so its sort of sticking up in the air at the mo....kids who would have them lol
om 7 -- add a nation of many islands m*****esia
sounds excellent scrabbler
and after that meltdown i am back
TY BR, you are certainly making my life easier today
i may have to buy a keyboard separately
((Lady)), what happened?
om7: not the omega
Mmmm. Bats. Taste like mice.
we lost the net connection this week and then the pc just decided that it would think for me instead of the other way round. Oh well. OH and cute overload has bunie pics
to clean a keyboard, get of copy of the letter placement online .. take the keys off with a little screwdriver; clean the keys and put a cleaner on a rags to get the stuff off the board
have done it many times .. a bit time consuming but works
judi said a WORD!! ;)
This keyboard is still goey Pink
Yoiks. I did. So sorry. I just started. Didn't even see the little rodent.
what i think i'll do is give it to my uncle to fix as he can do these sort of things
hehe
yes its the d key giving me trouble still
grumble
Nantucket Nectar fact of the day: The first elephant to come to Nantucket arrived by ferry in 1835.
Elephants huh?
sprite? are you okay? rather quiet
s'what my juice lid says :)
I just restored my IPOD of doom too that will teach it
if you google "how to clean a keyboard" there are some good guides out there, one with excellent pictures
I use BR's keyboard method. THere are those who swear by putting them in the dishwasher (sans soap, and let it dry really well), but I wouldn't try it.
just very tired, BabbleRabble, chat goes a bit too fast for me today :) Thanks for noticing.
Nantucket--we stayed there a few years ago--what a neat place.
thanks feather will have a look...thanks for the avice guys
*advice
you can even use a small hand held cleaner if you have one
one with a brush
Air dusters blast all the junk out pretty good.
or4 and ra6: animals in black and white :)
that is something my uncle recommended Judi
I just bought a screen cleaner that looks like a scottie dog
LOL, I tried Oreo---I saw black and white and I am hungry, so that is what I thought of
our ra6s are brown and black
I just read this
rom John: "Just an FYI, IBM laptops have a drain built into the sealed keyboard tray. They recommend pouring water in the keyboard to further drain any sticky liquids (coffee, pop, etc) and just letting it air-dry."
schindler's list
but their panda relatives are black and white :)
ok i'm off to play with playdoh with daniel. if LC looks for me again, could someone just tell that? thanks!
Feather is he eating the Playdoh?
**pondering BR's clue**
OK, bye Feather
as long as feather doesn't eat the playdoh
ok, fireworks here and time for a little nap
have fun all!
I used to eat the home made stuff all the time as a kid
not a clue shindler's list was in black and white
Yahooo for Sprite and sweet dreams.
sweet dreams
congrats. sprite
I liked the salty taste of Play-Doh
Oh, OK, BR--got it
school paste was pretty tasty too
congrats Sprite and have a good rest
Babble Rabble there was the girl in the red coat too
why you be eating playdoh?
congrats to Sprite and sweet dreams
I liked crayons!
To correct a salt deficiency
I liked the glue too, mmmm

Well done, sprite......
Annie i failed kindergarten because i ate the crayons :)
glue...uh oh
inge2, green was my favorite
I liked to eat dog kibble too so proves i am not right in the head
I loved the smell of school paste-didn't eat it though. And I only tasted Play-Doh, I didn't really eat it.
night Sprite
Lady, you always make me laugh!!!
bye bye sprite sleep well
nono, as long as you enjoyed the crayons....
oh i did, annie, very much so!
So it was worth it, Nono
did you color better with an inside view?
nibble them on one end and color with the other lol
What its true, playdoh, meaty bites and glue. I never said i wasnt odd
i liked putting the glue in my hands then peeling it off
yeesh. how many words today?
LOL, "frew" is not a word, as in "I frew up my lunch."
Just 130 steve
130 easy t ofind words
130 words, Stevie
I've only got 20 so far :-o
Yes, Lil!!! We did that too!
they are so easy to find you almost have to fight em off!
the was fun...we did that too
haha
i love it and often got into trouble for wasting it
Gives whole new meaning to the phrase "fightin' words"
Hi Carlee--I will be kayaking on Lake Erie later today--I should make it to Sarnia by Sunday afternoon

"seven" is a word, but today's puzzle has a shorage of S's. And V's.
Pretty good scrabbler, just seen "Die Hard 4.0" and "Shrek the Third"
Go ahead and do it, Lady, it will make you feel better

Hi Jacula

Hello Jac
Hi, Annie and everyone. Just another brief visit. 7 to go...
hi jacs!
Temple, I am doing very well
(Words, that is, not visits!)
have any of you heard of using extra strength downy softener sheets to deter mi4.6? Now that we don't have cats, mi4.6 are a problem
New one on me Aloy
i have. we tried it in the office
Did it work?
did it work, TO? I will go out and buy some today if it did
hey pabtrek, wb jacula
well those who had them claimed they did not see any. however, when there is a nest between the desk stacks, it's just a matter of where they go
so it will repel them but not eliminate them
h'mmm, well I was not happy at all when we got back to find that the critters had nested in my kitchen towel drawer!
the idea was given to me by my daughter who got it from her mother in law in the UP.. said it repels them
that is not good. i guess it would keep them out of that area, but they will go somewhere else
callan, are you still here?
Aloy - I'll lend you my Hunter cat; he catches at least 2 mi4 per night. (Outside, that is!)
and very eco- freindly solution, too! tee hee
There is a sonic device you can get to deter mi4. Don't know if it affects pets though.
ty Jacula.. sounds like a great hunter! Does he leave "love gifts" on the steps for you? Our cats would do that
Aloy - indeed he does.. and he announces his arrival with them. The more muffled the call, the bigger the prey.
well fols - time to either dive in with a vengeeance, or come back later. since i have oodles to do i will stop for now with 41 left. befoore i do, i think the pest repeller may work, it's work a try, they are inexpensive
See you later, TO.
ok, TO.. see you later.. and I will report on the efficacy of the dryer sheets! (-:
i had one in the garage, after infestation, they did not seem to come back. then again, i had cracks filled
i mean i had the device - happy babbling, all!

Bye, Carlee

the guy who lives behind me captured a skunk, we kept hearing a noise and had no clue what it was 3/4 days later we finally spotted the trap
he was letting it starve to death.. im a huge animal lover so we went over there and took the skunk..brought him to the woods

The deer multiply in the state park (Mayberry) then stray into the neighborhoods. We are two miles away from the park

thanks, Babble
:)
formica is so a word!!!!!!!!!!!! *stomps foot in frustration*
huh. i didn't know the fr5 was a word in English, though i know it from Spanish.
formica is a word, but it's a proper noun
formica is a genus of ants, also
oh... tks cscde
that's what i was referring to, dcs, but i've only ever seen the word as a proper noun before
so...it should still be a valid word then!?!
i thought it was some sort of element
formica has either a F or is a brand name, or both
or a type of metal maybe
They allow a few Latin words, such as genuses, but not many. It's pretty arbitrary which Latin (and foreign) words they allow.
*retrieves dictionary to look it up*
take the first 3 letters off and you get a mineral ;)
VI! HI!
ATALANTE!!!! Guess what I got in the mail yesterday!
mica
oops
you did?! COOL!
The coolest little work of babblicious art!
wooooooooooot! glad you like :D:D:D:D
*adds sheepishly* (Mine still aren't done yet.)
if you look on my dA account, you'll see the colours other people had :)
my dictionary shows it with a capital "F" and it's a laminated, heat resistant plastic used on tables etc..
I love the blue and green, even if they "should never be seen!" lol
ahhh and if u leave off the "a" at the end, it IS a valid word! :)
blue and green ROCK. as long as you do it right
Oh, then it's the acid the ants make. Thanks for the tip, Cathyar!
ty, cathy
it's also prepared commercial as a dye
must be some trippy ants, lol
lol...stoned buggers! HAHA
oh the things we learn in babbleland! :)
Just checked out all the peacocks, Ata. mine's the best! lol (They're ALL lovely!)
*whispers* actually I think yours is the best too!
on that last one, we're gonna trip out to eat.ttfn kids!
gotta run and start supper...brief but enjoyable bout of babble (60 words left and will bbl)
bye mom adn cath!
But how do you know there are 474 words in that tiny grid???
cu all l8r
Bye, mom23 and Cathyar.
because I asked DrG which were the 5 biggest grids ever in babble history, and used those on the cards *grin*
there are only 130 words in this grid, vic
oh, nvm, read that out of context
Oh, you sneaky thing!
I know *sneakiness*
You know I never do the huge grids any more! But now I'll have to go back in history and find this one. I wonder whether I did it on its day?
Sorry Vicuna, I have to disagree, mine is the best but then I am biased. Ata they look lovely as a collection too.
i'd love to do a grid that had 500+ words in it
Which colors did you get, FMitch? The reddish purple like in your sunset?
Vi: 2005-12-18 go look :)
LOL good guess, mine is the bottom middle, blues and gold. Which is yours?
no! FM had something *completely* different than you'd expect!
you soooooo nearly got a pink one, Vi
Thats me all over Ata, full of surprises :)
it was lovely though to use those colours. I never use those colours together, it was *fun*
lol, Ata! I'm glad you refrained. The other day I got a gift for organizing all the art projects for a camp that was a fundraiser for "Habitat for Humanity." they gave everyone lovely ceramic bowls, and of course what do they hand me but the pink one. Sigh. My life would be better if I'd just get over the pink aversion.
Mine is bottom left, if I remember the placement. Light blue and light aqua green.
actually, I nearly did you two. a proper one and a pink one for a giggle
if you 2 open that page again, I'll try and remember who got what
Oh that is a pretty one.
Lol. I really don't mind pink in moderation!
just checked out that 12/18/05 grid...that would've been a lot of fun to do, in my opinion
top row - I kept the first one, then hurshy, ren (I think), haz, can't remember. bottom row - vi, stidmama, fm, sprite, nutty
I think
Nice. I like those rich reds a lot, too.
Thats very interesting as the colours in Haz's are similar theme to the one I sent her.
I really liked haz's one too
really?? oooo
those colours obviously suit her
We both chose similar palettes!
Hey, FMitch, no fair doing Babble cards on the side!
it is funny how people see other people in similar colours, Ive had it happen a good number of times
Sorry Vi I did 2 for humans and 2 for dogs (Hobbit and Spangle), didn't really have time to do any more this time round.
lol. Well, I hope Hobbit and Spangle appreciate them!
hobbit's is proudly "stuck" to her dog bed!
What a giggle!
sorry if i asked this before, but do any of you play other word games online?
I was using my computer printer to do the back side of the cards and it stopped working right after I did 2. But it seems to be okay again, so I plan to finish up the others soon. Really. I promise!
Nope CsCd, one is more than enough for me.
I don't, CsCde, but lots of others do. If you don't get any suggestions this time around, ask again when there's a different crowd chatting.
*giggle* refresh for a tired tired dog
I play weboggle
excuse me for butting in, and being extremely nosy, but what are you ll talking about please ?
Vicuna I was an ATC virgin before this and could so easily get sucked into the whole concept :)
its a wonderfully fun and productive idea isn't it! and it makes you feel all warm and happy inside
wasn't really asking for suggestions, vic, as i've played practically every word game on the net...was just wondering if anyone played other word games besides this, is all
I've never done it before, either, FMitch.
lol sorry karys! we're talking about artist trading cards - little cards people make up and exchange - any type of art, just fun and happy things
Karys, stidmama organized an exchange of "Artist Trading Cards" among babble players.
can I see them anywhere ?
any clues for the re5/18 please
na5/10?
(I just checked the date of my grid, Ata, and I was out of town then so I did not ever do it. Hmmm....)
re+very pale
well these are the basics of the ones I made: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/58 532017/
FM - would you mind if I scanned in your ones for exclusive viewing of babblers only?
ty-got it
re 5/18 - re + country tai***
Hi Karys and Deeha I would be honoured Ata I was wishing I had taken pics before I sent them.
I'll scan them properly and put a pic up on flickr tomorrow for you then :)
I'll scan stid's card that I received too
popping off to have a look
Hi all. What are artists trading cards??
na5/10 - N + what you breathe + vowel
thanks, sandie!
http://www.cedarseed.com/air/atc.html <- one of my friend's ATC basics
Brill ta, love your Hobbit icon - that is one tired puppy.
I used to be part of an ATC forum, but I realised really quickly that actually I only put effort into cards for people I know and want to create something for. So I dropped out of there, and was so pleased when Stid started this
hello
cramp
oops sorry
Can anyone clue me ya 6/36 please?
are you tired, liz?
ya6/36 - one who is tired enough to ya4/10
lol ata
ty Vicuna
In a nutshell Deeha, they are little cards that you make with any design and medium you want to use.
Yes Ata VERY!
ro4/7 - any clues plz
Hi Liz, just saw Toya on BBC1 she mentioned something about a nasty woman on Sark lol
Uh oh, hanging my head in shame
ro4/7 - Germanic boy's name (17 going on 18 in The Sound of Music), means vomit
Don't you dare hang your head!
what did you do to Toyah, Liz? I've missed this story!
gotit - ty
Nah, secretly I have an ego the size of a London bus...just like a famous 80s pop star
hello all
I brought shame on myself Ata by offending the pop goddess that is Toyah
back to get my last 8 words
and her "people" got all hffy.
all I did was write on my blog that she had pulled out of a local Taverners cricket/celeb match here on Sark - thr truth! And I got a call from her PA to ask me to remove said offending sentence
LOL! how silly!
IT would be funny if it wasn't so unbelieveably sad LOL
better things to do and all that...
that really is just stupid
why cant I have rehoof!
funny thing is Ata if you google Toyah Wilcox Sark it still brings up my original sentence even though I deleted it off the blog LOL
LOL! *giggles a lot*
Oh it didn't when I tried yesterday.
I tell you what I've never giggled so much as I have this week telling people about this
I just did it FM and it is the first thing that comes up on google at the mo
I can't believe I'm watching old episodes of Family Fortunes. Its such a stupid programme
we had big brother on but I just couldnt bear it any longer
Anyway, Toyah looks older since she had her face job, waste of money
lol same here liz!
Ah Mummy! Thats why I like you all in here so much :)) You're all on my side LOL
ata - put on The Who at Glastonbury - good fun watvhing everyone get soaked..
Well dang, it is there as clear as day LOL.
We're not talking down Toyah, are we?
last fo4/7 plz - got the silly one and the plural of concentration
this is the 1st time I've logged onto the grid and its been all union jacks flying
As if, Haz!
never, haz!
Good evening Haz!
Good, because we're all such fans.
Hiya Haz.
That's cause the rest of the world are at work or asleep..
also got the plural of a stadium
of course
Good evening - still trying to recover from the tennis excitement.
No talking down coming from this island lol (just a lot of chucked spanners)
me too Haz wasnt it great
oh yes, its been wonderufl today
It was fantastic. Some commentators had to eat their words!
Oh what have I missed?
henin crashing out, gasquet beating roddick
It was the most brilliant day's entertainment, FMitch.
Gasquet beat Roddick in the mens quarters and henin crashed out too
oh lol sorry Ata
great minds write alike :)
Crumbs, even to a non avid tennis watcher I understand the excitement there.
I love it when both players raise their game.
the single word frmo the top left please?
the single word frmo the top left please?
I can't believe I just said crumbs, how Enid Blyton of me :)
Dont like mens tennis any more they just stand on the back line and smash the ball over. But that re-run yesterday of Borg and McEnroe had me on the edge of my seat
Deeha, some of the men still come into the net.
oh I loved it Dee, I thought Gasquet was brilliant
LOL FM you'll be wearing a pullover and drinking lashings of ginger beer next
dont see that lovely finesse very often - the lobs and the drop shots and the volleys
Apparently Federer likes to watch Gasquet most of all the male players. Roger's opinion is good enough for me.
Only if you throw it properly I find, then you have to reel them in gently.
AND Miriam Bartoli claimed that she was inspired by seeing Pierce Brosnan watching....
yes that was funny
Marian - see, I'm still too excited even to get the names right!
does this mean there are no baseball fans here? lol
If I knew Pierce was in the crowd, I'd just give up and watch him.
the single E word from the top left??
lol Haz
fo4 drop the vowel from end of plural stadium add 2 point consonant lol cscd, carry on my over the pond friends
ey+**vermind cscd
lol at gramma's clue
ey4/6 - like Mr Rochester's heroine, but change a consonant.
ty
yw, back to the grid ( :
right I'm off to bed, never gonna get these last 30 words. Night all, sleep well
Well !!!!....I've only just got back, I was fascinated by all that ATC stuff on cedarseed, I hadn't heard anything about it before.
Goodnight Liz - you don't think we could clue you to death?
ra6, please?
Nite Liz
Hello Karys!
Hello Haz....you ok ?
actually, deeha, I've stopped watching the women's game and gone back to the men's game because all the girls seem to do now is grunt and smash
ra6/21 - an animal, not noted for its colour
Night Liz Isn't it interesting Karys
I read it in amazement too. I have put it on my favourites so I can go back to it. But dont understanf=d about the swapping yet
Karys, I'm fine, thanks.
I know Atalante if I watch the womens I have to do it with the sound off!!
ah man! that hurt. thanks haz
no Deeha....not sure about that either yet.
You're welcome, smaller, those critters are elusive.
Mitch, I have to tell you I made my first bracelet !
Jewellery wars.....
Karys that is excellent news, you didn't hang around!
was Mitch got me 'inspired' !
I had to do a practice one, now I have more idea.
But now, I want to have a go at little cards !
That's great - everybody's becoming very creative.
basically, people either swap cards one to one, like I send one to FM adn she sends one to me, or there can be a group swap - where say 10 babblers get involved, and I make 1 card, and it goes to 1 of those `10 babblers, or any combination really
So could I do a fancy recipe card? Does doing it on the computer render it null and void?
the cards are a very good size for everyone, because *anyone* can fill a 3.5" x 2.5" card if they want. but you can still get really beautiful and original things in that space
So, if I get creative again this week and make little cards do I have to make a certain amount all the same ?
I wouldnt mind having a go too. Let us know if there is to be an 'event'.
Ah, there are rules about size..... A boiled egg recipe card?
Not according to the info Haz, puters are acceptable
could I have a clue for the ca 7/44 please, and hello everyone
There are no rules really apart from the size you can make whatever design in any medium you want, is that right Ata?
basically the only rule with ATCs is they should be 3.5" x 2.5", but hey, even that's bendable LOL
I am making completely different ones for everyone, Ata made variations on a theme.
I should look up the info then.
ca7/44 - combine a means of transport with the price you pay for a ride in it.
You see, this suits me, I can do 'small', but lose it on large !
they've evolved into a lot more, but the original purpose was simply to swap art with friends, without making the process too arduous for all concerned. so everyone gets beautiful pieces of art, but mini :)
I do small too, anything nitpicky suits me!!
thank you
There were 7 Babblers signed up in the swap stidmama originally organized, but FMitch is sort of doing it on the side, and we're gossipping about it in the chat a lot in hope of drawing other people in...
You're welcome, meliae.
Deeha, we have been posting cards to eachother. Karys thats what appealed to me as you can try out different mediums.
Please may I join ?
Yay, Karys!
of course, karys! *hugs* talk to stidmama, she's officially In Charge
I havr got so many hobbies on the go at the moment but this rteally intrigues me. Might even get my pans and paints out again
(Hmm... have to get thinking about another card, then, don't I!)
and as fm says, you can just *play*. I've done cards that are stencils, just words written on the cards, watercolours, pencils, all sorts of things. I've seen amazing cards with fabric samples, stickers, everything
Thank you, I will, now I have a big problem, bracelets, artwork, Babble, housework, husband....
forget the last two..............!!!!
You can certainly drop housework from the list, at the very least.
Can't forget the last Deeha, only just got him, he's new yet !
Yay Deeha, dust off yr paint brushes. Haz get Spangle to make paw prints, you could use those :)
are you coming over to watch the Tour de France, deeha?
FR 5/16 please
Vicuna, I have to confess I have already nearly forgotten about that !
Oh that alters the suggestion. Keep him !
AAAARRRGH! Printer not working in a different way now!!!!
what's housework?
Yeah. Mine's pretty nonexistant. I had the father-in-law staying for the past week, so I tried to make it look presentable. Really I did...
fr5/16 - plural word relating to the tongue. fr plus an old fashioned woman's name (Mrs Sharples)
Dunno Ata, sounds foreign to me.
Could have forgotten him this week, have hardly seen him, am golf widow as well today.
Have you seen the size of Spangle's paws? No way would they fit!
oh it is! strange cyclist people going mad in the kent countryside
I am tempted Atalante must look up the route. It must be about a once in a lifetime event eh?
nose prints then :)
Wait... the Tour de France is in Kent this year?!?
just going to get a drink
... or fold paw print in half vertically and stick to card so you see 1/2 on the front and 1/2 on the back
yeah ... its coming up the really straight road from the M20 to Canterbury. we're going to try and find a place to watch there. just to say we were there!
anybody got a clue for the oc5/12 - got the one relating to the sea
Those French have no sense of direction.
The Tour de France was in Ireland once, or was I dreaming?
I think it was, yes
I remember watching the Milk Race when i was little, great blur of speeding colour and then gone.
oc5/12 - o + The sixth day of ----tion
where do they go from Canterbury? Straight down the channel tunnel?!
oc5/12 - oc plus the beginnings of not false, or Spanish for royal
(You can then Latin pl it)
ty -got it
no idea lol! I think they get po4/8ed to France!
Ata, if you're in the crowd, hold up a little "Babble" sign or something when the cameras pan over you.
hobbit will be there, just watch out for a black spaniel trying to trip up the cyclists!
PR 7/36 please
Now Atalante, you really must not let Hobbit interfere with the po4/5 ra4/5-ers.
right back to the hobbies. Goodnight all talk to you soon
HELLO PLAYERS!
Goodbye, Deeha.
.Night Deeha
she will bark encouragement at them! woof!
Considering that "antiair" is an Enable word, it would be only fa4/7 to allow "proair" to balance things out.
All this creative chat is stimulating the brain when it should be winding down so I shall depart too See you all tomorrow.
and re-co** if preco** is allowed!
LOL night dear
Goodnight, FMitch. Dream of art!
back, just in time to say byee to you
lol nighty night *p4/8*

Only when people import the knowledge, Ata
and what praytell is banoffee?
I still think thats so strange, I had always assumed it was an American thing! so now I'm on a quest to show as many people as possible the perfection of banoffee pie
http://www.nestle.co.uk/OurBrands/Reci pes/OldFavourites/UltimateBanoffeePie. htm

now..what exactly is dble cream again?
its heavier then whippiing cream?
i think so carlee
the heaviest we have is whipping cream
its 45%
Phew - finished, after rather too many glasses of red. Hi all!
i wonder if the british shop here would carry double cream
yay, tinks!!
congrats tinks
<pompom toss> for tinks
ty all! loving those pompoms carlee
probably, i thought double cream was available all over the world
i've never heard of it
we do get whipping gream here - not sure of the difference, you can use double to whip
ooooh, that sounds bad!!
but am wondering if it makes a "stiffer" whipped topping..whipping cream is very light once whipped
It is quite heavy, lovely on top of gooey puddings, trifles etc
Otherwise just poured as a lovely creamy gloop
ok..well we whip whipping cream...but..it is pretty "light" it stays stiff..but is very light
clotted cream
I guess that must be the difference, both whip, double whips thicker....
im off to watch big brothers big mouth goodnight all
nite pink
g'night pink. Always good to see you!
nite pink
*blushes*

re + pale
re + pale and pasty Jellen
tks knight!!!:)
ty, tinks and knight!
i give ... are the ra words real or made up? can't find any of them
you run a ra** aknitter
ra4/5 speed competition
on a ra*****
one ra is like a marathon aknitter..or a horse ra** or car ra**
ra words = speed, track to speed on, animal, type of material
aknitter - start with the cute woodland creature with the mask
ya...jellen summed er up!
then you find an animal
and RA 4/4 - the director/actor Sam RA**
the others are a bit stranger
ahhh tks klaurel and tinks...didn't have that 1.
two weird ra4's ra + personal pronoun and vowel
oh, RA = a beam of sunlight + 1st vowel
ty, knight!
ty for those ra words they were alluding me
and the last 4/4 sounds like the beam of sunlight one, but the 25th letter of the alphabet is substituted for a similar sounding vowel
nite all!
any of u into bigbrother US?
did you get all 6 aknitter?
we alluded, they eluded
lora
oops

how many FA words are there please?
not normally - but BB has the right to change the rules at any time
4 x fa
4 fa's
4 feather
hmm, have them all.
same with ours as far as changing the rules goes... of course the houseguests have competitions to test their various levels of endurance?
Knight thanks for the clues...and you too Ark......time for my bed.... F I R E W O R K S for Flask and goodnight to you all!!!......
shoot "floam" isn't accepted! lol
(not to mention keeping them active so they don't get slobbish) lol
wtg flask
Yay, flask!!!
yay flask!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
yay flask!
I think like most brit reality tv - they are all about getting the public to phone vote, and so get money from the calls. Your shows seem to be more show based and don't charge in the event that you can vote - thinking American Idol on that one
lol feather! floam!
Housemates get tasks to determine how much money they have to spend on supplies
that's that sticky stuff u make crafts with right? ;)
(yeah, but i removed a letter and found an easy word i'd missed....)
wd flask
yes it is
ahhhh....cool tinks....that's practical!!!!!!!
how many FL and FO please?
lol....shoulda been a valid grid-word !!! except it's a proper name, i suppose
when they fail a task it's not very pleasant for them cath
but entertaining for us!
3 fl's
3 fl
what happens to them tinks? ours end up on peanut butter & jelly sandwiches for a week.
90fo
9xfo
10 fo's, 3 fr's
90? eek! lol, i assume that was 9
wait, is it 9 or 10 FO?
knight can't count
10xfo
They still get a shopping list, but have less money to spend. They have to decide how to eke it out
ok, ty. i'm looking for 2 FO and 1 FR then.
Arguments over tobacco
But bb often supplements alchol to get things going
when u watch online, do they cut stuff out and show an irritating front of the house or a black hole abyss with the theme music playing?
i think there's more sex in bb UK is that right tinks?
sound cuts with bird song etc, and random views
(i'm sure the alcohol aids in that)
I don't think so cath - prob about the same
u r lucky u at least have random views and relaxing music
ar5/10, either?
there have been a few under the cover episodes in the past
add a vowel to the one before jellen
Evening all, any clues for the NA please?
ar5.10 = gym
then a consonant before the last 2 vowels and drop the last letter
na + investment option

My icon isn't a clue (it's past time for that here anyway. It's me at The Gnome Reserve in North Devon during my holiday last month.:-))
Callie is right behind me here--she is always near me wherever I am.
levi leipheimmer (i know i mangled that) is the one i'll be watching
hehe, that's cute jac!
A Gnome Reserve--what a riot!!
Scrabbler - you'd love it. There are even bunny gnomes!
Levi Leipheimmer's photo was on the cover of our sports section today
oh cool
and i'll be watching robbie mcewan to get the green jersey for the sprinters
Here's the website:http://www.gnomereserve.co.uk/
How cute, Jacula...I will have to Google that place--it sounds magical
You just made my life easier, Jacula--TY
y/w, Scrabbs.
I like the Recycled Teenagers coment
herin - I liked that, too.:-)

Jacula--it looks really wonderful. The dressed up baby and child are cute!
hello everyone
hey dawg
nice new maxine
I have been to Devon and Cornwall umpteen times, but I never knew about the Gnome Reserve, Jacula
howdy ya'll
Lots of those (recycled teenagers) on the day we went there. Most where wearing their gnome hats. Only a couple of ladies refused, saying it would 'spoil' their hair. (Hair that was set & lacquered to within an inch of it's life and wouldn't move in a gale force wind! Spoilsports!) They ask you to wear gnome hats as you go round so that you don't frighten the resident gnomes.:)
lol glad you like it feather. it really fits me today. another scorcher here and i'm really bi**** and whiney
NUTTY! are you home?
HOME HOME HOME HOME HOM
Hello, dawg.
E
I asked earlier if anyone heard from you, dawger. I have been hearing about the heat wave. You haven't melted or dehydrated, have you?
nutty, i had a dream about you the other night!
ExWren - You'll have to visit it next time you are down that way.
uh oh...this can't be good
NUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
I'm well hydrated scrabs, thank you for thinking about me. i'm miserably hot tho.
Jac blue rinse set knows how to use hairspray
Nut--glad to hear that hubby is home--good news.
FERNALLLLLLLLLADY
i was sunbathing my beached whale of a belly on the sand at the ocean, and you were a few towels over.
home and flying like an eagle he is.
dawger, the radio said the temp in Helena was 107 today
not much more exciting than that, sorry
herin - I know! I used to work in a hair salon back in the 70s.
really feather? what did i look like? was i scary?
thank you for the web-sites Jac, I will see my son and see what will suit him, only three weeks to go now
umm, you looked like you! from the pics i've seen in your icon
my weatherbug said we hit 102! *whine whine, WINE*
I can still do a mwan beehive with my mess of hair
scrabbler, what did you say about it? that her pirate ship was anchored offshore?
ExWren - pay a visit to the Quince Honey Farm, too, if you can.
Hi Ex wren too
what? no yellow polka dot bikini?
Nut, good new drugs?
of the legal mary jane variety dawggie
Wren - website is: http://www.quincehoney.co.uk/
Yes, she was anchored and resting after sending some goons off of the plank
lol, should have been! i don't recall the suit. first thing that popped into my mind was black one piece, but that could be because that's what i have
btw, hi herin, jac, and wren.
Marinol, Nut?
thats the ticket scrabsy
don't confuse it with oregano Nut. ;-)
it was frankly a pretty mellow dream. although, i wasn't on a towel, i was in this sort of oval shaped hole in the sand, on my side. to accomodate the belly i guess.
Wren - Also visit The Big Sheep, where they do sheep racing amonst other things: http://www.thebigsheep.co.uk/
i'm getting big kit kat love right now
oh the spoild brat kat is sucking up to you?
Hubbynut is okay, I hope?
he missed me!
The neighborhood Siamese, blond blue-eyed Chico, came to my door a bit ago, for some loving.
hubby nut is high, so yes, he's okay
My 'hunter' cat is out on the tiles.
As long as his pain is controlled, Nut.
our hunter kitty deposited a mole in the grass today.....right beside daniel's sandbox. ick!
Nut - LOL. Not him being 'the tiger' tonight then. Best wishes to you both.xx
our neighborhood shares a maine coon cat. he's really bossy too
oh i love maine coons. beautiful.
he is a beauty and a beaut. the other cats pretty much know to get out of his path.
i just love cats
i'm not overly fond of them, mostly cuz of my allergies, but this dude is fun to watch. he was down in our back area nose to nose with a deer the other day.
feather - so far this season I've been presented with 2 baby blackbirds, 3 baby sparrows, a squab (a baby pigeon - wondered what the hell that was! Looked like a baby Dodo!), countless mice (both dead, nearly dead and alive) and a very bad-tempered shrew (well, who could blame it?) that bit me when I tried to rescue it.
poor shrew! lol, what a collection!
Never got chance to do 'The Taming of The Shrew', as the shrew got eaten. (Not by me, I hasten to add.)
we get mouse heads randomly deposited around the house. it's a lovely sight.
good afternoon and happy babbling everyone
feather - have you noticed that cats never eat the gall bladder (well I think that's what that little yellow thing is) or the feet or tail ends?
Hellow, Kiwi.
hi Kiwi
i don't notice anything like that jac, i step around it and pretend i didn't see anything.
that's what that thing is? eww.
Nutty - I generally clear them away (or their remains) for a 'bin burial'.
random entrails all seem the same to me.
gross anatomy of mice...i'll be back in a bit when the topic changes.
Sorry, lbd!
feather - I think that's what it is. Tastes bitter, I guess.
if i pretend i didn't see it, someone else will.
lol, sorry dawg
anyone need a clue?
Ahem. Anyway, does anyone need any clues to help them finish this grid? I'm all done ages ago.
evening all-any clues for the oc 5/12 and oc 6/21 -i have the body of water one

oc + the ***l world, as opposed to fantasy
well, supper showed up at the door. I dished a plate and sat back down to see if I could get a few more
then latin plural it
tx feather
oc5/12 and Latin plural oc6 are the sheathing parts of a plant. Feather gave the clue to make the word.
Hi, all!
autumn - if you're eating then DON'T scroll back! We just drove poor Dawg away by talking about cat catches.
any clues for the RA6/21 please?
Hi, pam.
I thought my computer adapter woes would be resolved today, but I bought the wrong adapter and my laptop is old enough that apple.com doesn't sell them on line.
i've given up on definitions ages ago, don't know what half these mean!
it's a masked animal liz
SOOOO, after 33 minutes, I bought one from technical support, and now need to return the incorrect one--and pay a restocking fee. GRERRRRRRR
Hi, jac!
feather - sometimes, knowing the definition helps you to remember them.
oh that stinks pam!
probably true jac!
DUH.....silly me, pass the fish!
pam - Oh dear! Sounds like you're having the kind of day I did; one in which everything you do goes wrong.
It's my luck of late, feather!
Oh, yes I am, Jac!
AND, i finished the book--a sports bio--i was reading, so now, I am bookless and need to remember to get something to read tomorrow, as all I have here is too deep...
However, feather (ooh! that rhymes) - when you're preggers and the hormones are all kaput, you don't need mor e info to take in. LOL. I remember it well.
went back and read it anyway, jac. similar to discussing surgery and bowel movements at family sunday supper
I was off checking e-mail. Hi Pam! Sometimes technology is a real pain!
indeed, scrabbler
pr7 please?
pam - I got a few of those Alexander McCall Smith books that Haz recommended for a couple of quid each from a charity shop. I've put a list of the rest I need in my purse and will look in other shops of the same ilk as I go about my business.
pam, may i recommend - Not Now Honey, Wait Till I'm a Size 6? hillarious.
ra 6/21 any clues?
yes, i can't wait to have mind and body back soon!
Pam--have you read "The Dante Club" by Matthew Pearl. It is historical fiction, one of my favorite genres.
autumn - That's my Mum's trick and now my daughter's! In fact, step daughter is catching the habit now - she was talking about cheesy feet whilst we were eating a meal with cheese in it earlier.:(
before the fonz...hehe...think on that.
ra6=masked rascally animal
fonz was very ****
pr7 = to make less warm in advance.
tx feather and scrabbler
TY, Jac, and now I get your clue, Feather
i know, it was pretty obscure
i seem to be doing oddball clues today

Dager, were you soaking in ice?
*dawger
no, but i convinced hubby that he should finish folding the laundry so i can be in my a/c office. :-)
Nutty - just read a review on it but, even using TinyUrl to make it smaller, the address of it is too long to post here without breaking the log.
scrabs, i do have my feet on a pack of blue ice tho
4 to go, all MA's

Put it down your shirt, dawger
s'okay jac, i think it's an easy title to remember for those who want to

ma5/14 - one who uses the spice?
ma6/21 - dark purplish, reddish colour.
Aha--that ma6,21 was my last---TY

i sent the video to lickety the other night! (i'm so proud...)
Jac, let me know how you like those books...

it was a funny video feather, good choice
Pam, I asked you if you read The Dante Club. I loved it.
hi lbd, is it hot in Kspell?
Ok, I will look for that one, Jac...
pam - the Alex Mcall-Smith ones? Okay. Not started them yet. Am having a little light reaing, 'A Country Wife' by Lucy Pinney.

ap5 is what you wear in tyhe kitchen to keep your clothes clean
carra - af = old word for before. ap = a pinny, as worn by your granny in the kitchen.

harp - It's a concert for a greener earth, I think.
*look of disbelief* the om just jumped out at me!
cool off to find a new icon
back, and i got timmies
Well done, stid. Was it the fierce lady that helped?
i offer all of you one as a peace offering
welcome back tim
hello tim!
Live Earth is billed as 'A Concert for a Climate in Crisis'.
hi stid
I hope it raises concsciousness, jac!
Ah, having looked up your icon a few nights ago, Tim, I now know what timmies are. We don't have them here in UK, as far as I know.
down to 25...
it can raise consciousness, i'll raise cane,...cain...cocaine?
go stid go
lol, nut

yes...i'll raise sail, and sail rum, and kick ren in the bum.
jacula there are places in the UK i would love to visit but until you get tim's it will have to wait:)
what are tims?
is nutty buddy raising he** again?
pam - to be honest, I'm not sure that anything we do as human beings, other than ruining rain forests, actually makes that much difference to the state of play re the climate of the planet. If you look at the geologists' charts, all we have done is come towards the very end of yet another mini Ice Age and what we are experiencing now, weatherwise, is quite normal for that.
hoist the mainsail! lower the the jib! haul anchor! batten hatches! ahoy! avast! arrrrr.
i am afraID TO TYPE HERE NOW
REN!
hey!
hey! brb
tim horton's coffee shops:)
it's the rainforests and the strip mining that get me, jac
pam! hey!
RENNIE
and, the flagrant unwillingness to recycle so that the planet is becoming a landfill...
hi ren!
dawg!
hey stid!
pam - exactly. Those do make a difference but not as much as you might think. I wish I wasn't on my 'naked, alien computer'. If I was plugged into my old one, I could show your the geological stuff.
I have looked at some of it, jac, I know that we are not as a species eradicating the environmental soundness. But I think we are not acting as responsibly as we know we should
Large companies, with resources, should be more mindful of waste disposal
holy heck is he spoiled now
he wants his pills in a cup like the hospital does.
There is no reason for red tides closing beaches--even if that is not changing the planet, it is not good for us
LOL, nut
hey guys, how many words today?
so it makes it easier to swallow?
hm. keelhaul 'im, nutty! *holds out cat-o-nine tails*
130
co 5/20 please?
just as long as he doesn't want a bed pan nut
should i do that to him? isn't that wrong in some way stid?
Sounds like Horatio Hornblower Stidmama. What have you been watching?
thanks ren :)
okay, down to 11 back
holy cow! it's my mother! *stashes pirate gear*
Hi Stidgmere!
um, nuthin? Mother dear, wouldst thou care for tea and crumpets?
hmmm...never met the stidmama-mama
Lynn, what one does when one is afraid
LOLOL, all and hi, stidgmere
co 5/20 what stid said about the mooer
stidgmere...we should talk
co 5/20 please ? anyone??????
pam - It would help a lot if the 'developed world', when it invades areas of untroubled rain forest with untroubled people and then troubles the people with images of the 'modern world'... the money, money, money world, would not just tease them with the prospect and leave them to find their own way, but help and advise them how best to do it without ruining their immediate environment. Of course they're going to chop the trees down, with no better advice.
Oooh. So now the good behavior starts. We do not come from pirate stock--I've been told it was horserustlers.
Mother, may I present my dear friends nut and ren? they're not reall y pirates...
yw jamesbell
EXACTLY, jac
lynn just clued it at 8:58
I'm still waiting to find the co 5/20 also
arrrrrrrrrrgggghhh let's help stid out nut kidd
aaaaaaaaaargh....stidgmere, would ye like an honorary post on the divine sea hag?
Hellow. Pleased to meet you. Having a good time trying to get my 25 words come heck or high water.
is that arther:)
avast! ye'll corrupt the sainted mother!
If the sea hag is a boat, probably not. I could sell you a canoe though.
we'll post ye on the plank stidmere //P-/...with tea of course
pam - Almost every money-making scheme they are going to think of will begin with, 'Well, I'll need to get these trees out of the way!'
*grin* she's not kidding girls. If you ask nicely she might throw in the bailing bucket...
arrrrgh ren...i reckon we should tie both stids to the main mast.
Evening, all! Say, renfield, I believe that you are giving a bit of a clue in your profile, the ya4,6. It's driving me crazy cause it's on the tip of my brain. Can you give me a bit more help, pleeeeease?
ah gee stidmere - that's the "divine"sea hag
Back to the puzzle. Yikes!! What fun.
stand behind me mother! I'll protect ye!
I am there, jac. the treatment of the rainforests is really unholy and unacceptable
hello Janiece!
im not gettin the co 5 20? lol
Jan - ya4 is an anagram of 12 months.
Hey, there, stid!
co 5/20 maybe to seek cover then? or hide from a bully pirate like nut
oh! I got it Lynn... a bovine critter that gives milk + TV drama series set in a chicago hospital
co5/20 is what you do when you crouch down scared to death (no, not pee!) Begins in a bovine fashion.
THAT'S IT!!! Thanks so much!
my neighbors are bovine
ya 4 was something kathern hepburn said to cary grant about a sailing ship he built ( and visa versa)
You USA folks do love your TV programs, don't you? Makes me smile how much you use TV stuff to clue. Not being nasty or sarky, just observing.
i say ren is scurvy, and that we should toss her into the grid wearing mafia shoes.
I remember it from High Society with Bing Crosby and Grace Kelly. I kept hearing it in my mind, but couldn't fill in the blank. lol.
That's my favorite movie, Ren
oh, matey!
i say no we don;t
hi Jellen!
hi, jellen
Different cultures, I guess. Mind you, having said that, have been reading my so-called 'intelligent' friends on another forum heatedly discussinf 'Big Brother'.

I do wonder at why, when he is such a gentle man that most of the TV progs he watches that I don't have an interest in contain so many bangs, explosions and screams or either terror or pain. LOL.
We learned to take an interest in each other's likes...
I have, however, got him reading books now. (He was informed he was 'thick' at first at school and then 'dyslexic'. He is neither.)
