oh erda! thank you! this log is flying... sorry I didn't see it *kisses and cuddles*
care to skype, mrp?
i'm new at this... so i'm not familiar with the "rules of clueing" if such things exist... it's just what i read in the chat most night immediately after the flip...
Kisses and cuddles reciprocated!!! LOL
the messages all seem to come at once... is really annoying... (scrolling back now)
montreal - no worries. you learn as you go. i've been here, gaw, 2 years? and i'm still learning
Don't worry mrp -- all is well!
tx franny

mrp, I didn't know you were so pretty! :P wish I could come to the party, but it;s sort of across the ocean and all
mr - i know we don't realy know each other yet, but a party seems like a perfectly reasonable thing to come to au for :)
Now that I've shared her with the world, can I have her back now?
hehehe, I'm so proud of mrp. She's done so well through all her trials.
tragic, good enough reason for us too!
and the pretty thing is totally true - in fact you're both quite attractive
oh there she is. I'm 35 kms away at the moment - be home in a few hours mrp.

LOL erda!
back later, kids to take care of
oh hey, I had no idea tragic
heh, jellen, if it's a philly accent, tragic still needs a new one :P
i don't know jell, i sound totally normal to me
lol - i grew up just outside... so i don't have the philly accent
fi
i started out with it, but trained it out of myself

taking a break to eat dinner, i'll be back in a bit!

hmm
maybe i wil
montreal, synonym for craziness, minus S toward the beginning
tragic, then get her used to having her paws handled, will make it much easier later
did it
as for teeth, bop *lightly* on the nose and tell her "no bite", and she'll get it eventually. also, don't try and play with her with your hands, they instinctively grab at hands if you try and play around their bellies
lol... but it's so fun!
sigh
get one of those dangly-on-a-stick toys, they LOVE those
my cat even drags the end of his to bed sometimes
tx ornith, finally found it !

just found the op6, which was called over an hour ago. my brain works in slow motion sometimes.
lol@ both of you
Still haven't found it, Fran
hey Jellen! It went well! They had already realised they were totally wrong about the working thing. Dismissal, if reorganisation demands it, will not be until januari 2009. Only bad thing is they are dropping my pay with 30% now that I am 1 year ill.
it's a class of drug jellen.
thanks for that one, Fran
ty, Fran

I'm glad the meeting went well, sprite
why stud?
yeah, on top of all the other financial blows we have gotten it is a bit muchish. But we will find a way to handle it. We always have. At least the whole attitude and threats thing at work is over, they now are behaving normally again.
thanks for that op Fran
yw flosey
why is that, stud?
well, that part is good sprite
it is, Fran :) We handled that very well and I swear that they have felt the whole support group behind me when we entered the room. They were SO nice all of a sudden!

hi mel!
(imagine soft singing voice humming it to you)
LOL jilli
I understand, meliae, it is the only way
i'm sure sprite has a lovely voice too, when are you going to be on a babblecast?
have to do so shortly, Fran! mrP has asked me a zillion times, but things are so hectic here, I just keep forgetting.
that will be cool
how do we do this babblecast thing?
how do you listen? or get on it?
just hope I can manage with the english, but I reckon I will not die from the mistakes... just be totally embarrassed, lol
http://babblecast.googlepages.com/babb lecast
you seem to be pretty good at english...
if I can be totally embarassed by babblecast, you can too!
your written english is perfect sprite, it's hard to believe you don't speak it just as well.
and we've already covered that accents make us all happy
stud: writing it is easier than talking though
You do so well in chat, it's hard to remember it's not your primary language.
It's not mine either
sheesh -- she is one of the best at the grid too!
I will, mrP :D Looking forward to it too. We have to make an appointment soon, now that the crises are (hopefully) over.
what's y ours, erda?
cool erda, what's your first language?
Croatian
Wow, erda!
ah well, mistakes will contribute to the amusement level of the thing, right? :)
wow Erda!
is Croatian as complex as it looks and sounds?
i love how every babbler is so different.
By now, my first language is English, and I am an editor to boot...
amusements are easy to come by with dr nut
accent will cover up mistakes sprite - never underestimate the power of the accent
Yes, sprite, it's a mess
still don't know how to get babblecasts
you're an editor?
we (my sisters and i) actually spoke Kosraean at home even though we learned English at the same time.
yes I am
I once met a Croatian lady and I was totally fascinated by the language. Could not understand a word, it seems so different from most languages.
jilli, go to www.babble-cast.blogspot.com
jilli, I posted the link, I think, did you miss it?
ta, fran
that's the babble-cast blog and from there you link to the podcast site.
I must have, sprite, sorry
There are also dialects within the language -- so many that some of us don't understand the other
i feel like americans whose first language is english butcher the language... esl-ers seem to be much better at it
Like Neapolitan to an Italian
http://babblecast.googlepages.com/babb lecast
sprite, it's a new site now. it's moved to blogger
and we used to learn the cyrillic alphabet in elementary school!
i don't think that one is updated anymore.
or the different languages in China? Where they can read eachother's written text but not understand a word the other says?

thank you that was a tough little puzzle lol
yay mel!!!!
YAY mel!
lots of the words I have no clue what they mean I just kept monkeying them around the weird point values helped a lot with that
I see happy fish, iPodder, JuicePodcast etc etc
I do not use iTunes
oh my goodness, that lady that I interviewed this evening, was uhmmm well I think she was crazy! I could not get her out of the house fast enough
hmmm, there is no generic feed button either
mel, you don't need more crazy! (no offense)
none taken
argh meliae, not pleasant!
she was like so do you put them to bed at 9 and they are not allowed to leave their rooms after that time, stuff like that, like this is a prison or something
sprite, i actually couldn't subscribe to the podcast feed either (even though i use newsgator).
that sounds like my home, lol
oh and she said something like I do hope they are sedated in the evenings, I was like what!!!! I dont sedate them unless they are having a rough day
ok, I feel really stupid now. Will try and find out how to listen to podcasts later today, sigh... this takes too much of my babble time :(
sedated??? your kids???
i subscribed to the feed from the blogspot site and then i click through to the podcast.
noooo I take care of mentally handicapped adults, lol
That's what I did, too, Fran
I do adult foster home for handicapped adults
owwwww ok, meliae, sorry! That is serious stuff, sorry to be so casual about it then. Quite a job!
I hope I can stay up till 4am meds so tired tonight and not having a helper is killing me =(
mel, sounds like that woman's style totally clashes with yours (and all other reasonable people) good thing she showed it right away!
sounds tough. We will help keep you awake!
yes, I was thinking she cannot be seriuos, but she was!
hi all, she sounds awful mel
hi mva!
Morning all..
here goes a perfectly stupid question. HOW do I subscribe to that feed?
hi caitlyn
But her references were from a institution place where that is all they do is pump them full of drugs so I could kind of understand her thinking, but no way
Hi, MVA and caitlyn

Hello MVA and Cait

hi cait, meeing at work went ok, no dismissal before januari 2009 and no other problems left there. Only a 30% drop in salary since I have been ill for a year now. I feel like I have tamed dragons and that is a good feeling :)
I am so pleased for you sprite what happened about the house payments?
we got help from a friend who is a financial planner. He said NOT to pay, but get another insurance. The mortgage giver let us know they will accept that. I am so relieved! Have to fill in the forms and all, working on that today. But it will be solved without us having to pay 9000 euro!
that must have been a huuuge relief sprite!
That is brilliant news sprite ,we told you there was light at the end of the tunnel. Now get yourself well.
omg, I can't begin to tell you how much, Fran! It is still going to be tight, with the extra 250 a month and a paydrop of 30%, but we will find a solution for that. Better this than the whole drama we were facing.
fa 5/20 clue ?
you were right, cait :D And it wasn't another train either :)
(((((((sprite)))))))
hi ruru, add a type of distilled spirit
also a character from oliver twist

I certainly have!

yw :-)
i'll share it with you sprite. :-)
let's make it smoked salmon then and forget about slapping :)
yum, it's a deal spritey!
ooh, hot smoked salmon!!!
what is with the fish all the time...????????
sprite might know more about the origins of that phrase.
i only know about the monkeys
one of my favo easy recipes that look like haute cuisine, lol. Just cut up paprikas and bake them with black pepper. Cook fresh pasta. Then pasta on a plate, smoked salmon over it, paprika over it and enjoy.
wow, sounds lovely!
by paprika, do you mean red bell peppers?
the fish has 2 meanings. First: not seeing a very easily spottable word or a very common word and then finally realising it deserves a slap with a (stinking) fish. Not nice. But some people do that to themselves, grin.
Does any one here like Serbian people
Fran: yes, the not-hot kind.
i don't think i know any serbian people natasa, but i have no reason to dislike them.
and second fish: in the beginning of babble, there was a fish in almost every grid. For months and months on end. We used to start the day by asking if anyone had found the fish of the day yet. It was fun.
sprite, that sounds good, we grill ours to get a char on them. very tasty.
Oh ok..im Serbian
I think I only know one Serbian lady and she is very kind. But I have never felt that like or dislike would go with a people, just with individuals.
does that explain the fish for you ruru?
and as far as I can tell so far, you seem very nice too, natasa.
oh good, now i sort of know a serbian person. :-)
thanx sprite
nice people play babble!
pi 6/30 is eluding me
I second MVA!
I third
really nice people play babble
ruru, it sounds like a common bird ruru, it's the english that immigrant workers speak when they don't learn english very well.
it is a kind of language, ruru. It starts as the bird of peace (4 letters). Last 3 letters form a kind of alcoholic drink
and pluralise for the 7
a form of it is spoken in Hawaii
time to go, have fun all, bbl
bye mva! have a good day!
Bye MVA
have a good day, MVA!
okay got them...HMMM new words for me everyday.
that's why i play ruru, there's always new words. :-)
one of my excuses to play babble. I claim I learn something new every day I play... from the grid or from my fellow babblers :)
Im off
and Fran and I are babblesoul sisters... we often sing in unison
cya..thnx for the clues
bye natasa!
bye natasa

anyone have the po5/14?
i'm thinking of saving them until tomorrow, but there are only 14 and i should be able to find them if they are 4s and 5s!

Well timed to say congratulations!
Congratulations, Fran!!
hi haz!
morning St Haz of the Dolorous Spaniel
hi Haz, good to see you
Hi, Haz
you'd think 4 four-letter words would be easier to find!
Greetings all. My sainthood hasn't been imperilled then?
not quite
not one bit
thanks everyone!
i would vote for you. :-)
Thank goodness, I was going to have to be extra virtuous to wipe out the memory of my drunken day.
me too!
sounds like a scandal haz.
I think you're safe
You're all very forgiving.
I replayed the video. That kid is fabulous.
I think there is holiness in alcohol too
or the making of a scandal.
FranMag, I had a day of virtual drinking.
nope, we're just storing up points for blackmail later down the line
nah Haz, the more you show yourself the more we love you. That's all.
So you can eventually blame me instead of FM?
oh no, we always blame FM
no blaming allowed
But sprite, we have to blame someone and FM is handy.
and she's always to blame!
plus, she's not here
leave my babblesoul sister in peace!
no, not *that* FM! the other one!
my OTHER babblesoul sister that is
We'd still blame her anyway, FranMag, we believe in confronting the issues head on.
FM is the best :)
LOL
LOL
anyone that is to blamefor Paris Hilton must be to blame for everything else too
you're in New Zealand today, Ata??
I think so.
have been for a while. to make up for my mother refusing to bring me back any NZ chocolate from her trip there in a few months
she's to blame for Paris Hilton? then for sure she must be accountable.
What are her reasons?
sounds like a good reason to me, Ata
she will have no room in her case
wow, that little girl is amazing sprite!
isn't she just!
She's decided that already?
yup! LOL
I think your mother needs a good talkto :)
hello all, how is everyone today?
hi J-M!
Good morning jakes-mum.
hi jakes-mum
Hi, jakes-mum
we ended up having a big agrument about it yesterday. she says I was being unreasonable to ask, I said she was being unreasonable to be so silly
How much chocolate did you want her to bring back?
A caseful? A few bars?
1 chocolate bar! LOL!
how much do you want? a couple kilos?
well, preferably 2, but I'd settle for 1 LOL
Well, yes, then you can see how she wouldn't be able to make room for a bar of chocolate.
Fran, are the babblecasts sound only?
well, yes. I realise now how unreasonable such a request was
yes, sprite
what is so special about the NZ chocolate, Ata?
yes sprite, from podbean it is.
Thank goodness yes, sprite! Only sound.
ok, then I think the Winpodder would be ok
we can;t get it over here and I pine for it!
Maybe your mother was saving you from yourself. Maybe it was tough love.
Maybe - maybe I'm just making excuses for her.
ha! maybe it was my mother being weird like normal. its funny, she's an angel 97% of the time, then turns into the wicked witch of the west for the rest
lol
LOL
this is the woman who told me I looked too fat at my own wedding!
omg she did not
Okayyyyy, I go with the tough love/foot in mouth theory.
Would she have preferred that you not go through with the wedding?
lol yeah. I love her dearly, but sometimes I want to scream!
she looooved the wedding, it was the best day of her life. I just should have looked better *facepalm*
and no, I didnt look as bad as The Dress woman!
Well, I suppose you'd have a better idea now. After all you've seen THE DRESS for inspiration.
oh yes. my next wedding I'll have one of those
I bet her mum didn't go on about her being fat. There was so much else to focus on.
LOL yes! maybe I didnt keep her occupied enough during the day
yay, have the podcast working!
You should have had a few surprises kept in store for producing throughout the day.
Haz, i found a second DRESS! from the year before, it weighed 25 stone supposedly.
oh good sprite!
ummm i've got some news, is now a good time to but into the conversation? *looks round imploringly*
Spill it, jakes-mum.
listening to Jacula now :)
go ahead J-M
i'm having a little girl, I found out yesterday
Boy or girl, or one of each, or two of each?
Oh, lovely. You can start planning her wedding....
no, it is nut and mrP
that's wonderful J-M!
woohooooo!
Congratulations jakes-mum - I know it's what you were hoping for.
LOL the best one of that day was when we were getting to the church in the car, it was just me and mum. I wanted to be traditionally late, and asked the driver to pull over. Mum yells at him not to stop and I get a lecture till pulling into the church entrance about how I shouldn't be so mean and horrid to my poor husband-to-be as to make him wait for 2 minutes!
some mums...
speaking of two of each, some poor woman just had a second set of triplets! conceived without fertility treatments.
ty very much all, Jakey not so happy lol
don't do that to her when she grows up, JM :P
I see comedy material in your mother, Atalante.
Jake will be a doting elder brother, I'm sure.
Nooo! am already planning THE DRESS lol
FranMag, my legs are crossed at the very thought.
omg there is *immense* comedy material in her! Some of the things .... you just have to laugh!
tell us more ata
laugh to not cry?
where's this other dress then, Fran???
ohhh 2 sets of triplets! I bet she did alot of yoga before the births
wow, let me see if i can find it again.
this podcast is perfectly stereo!
That's one woman who'll need to do her pelvic floor exercises.
I have mrP at my right and nut at my left and I am so inclined to join in the conversation!
amazing, found it right away http://tinyurl.com/2xdwfg
OMG!
Okay, leaving now to dream about DRESSES and triplets and Ata's mum. Bye, all.
bye jellen! sleep well
have to be off now, you all have a terrific day or night or whatever and thanks for being this incredible babble crew.
oh dear, thats embarrassing, her reception was in a hotel down the road fom where I grew up
more pictures: http://tinyurl.com/r29pe
bye sprite! have a great day, thanks for your help!
20 metres of silk, 1,600 metres of tulle and thousands of metres of net
I've had a look at the dress. You can see that a deep tan, big hair and lack of brains are required elements to carry off a dress like that.
And look, she even had Jordan's wedding carriage.
she looks like a bubble in there, nearly fills it up
absolutely haz, but don't forget the purchased ... um, assets.
Assets? You mean she's not entirely natural?
she wants to be just like Jordan, therefore...
wonder if the groom lookslike Peter
And look, she was 16, the groom was 17. And I'm starting to realise that with a name like O'Brien.....
lol, think there may be a connection?
There's a connection all right.
we should look for this couple at the reception!
I'll bet Spangle that they are cousins of the most recent wedding couple.
did anyone get a close look at the girl in the mermaid dress?
I'm sure!! they simply must be
They'll have been sitting in a corner of the room, taking down notes and deciding 'Ours will be even better.
Some people run races, some people make money to be competitive - this lot create bad taste competitively.
well the first dress did have more sequins ....
well, they're pretty good at it, you have to admit
It's a pretty specialist field.
one wonders what will come next ....
LOL
okay, i love talking to you all, but it's time for me to head out.
The next bride will probably turn up in a lorry, tastefully? disguised as a fairy castle.
good specialist subject for Mastermind
LOL
Good to see you again, Franmag, and thanks for the second dress!
i love to share. :-) you two have a great day! bye
I'd be no use at remembering all the figures though for the sequins and crystals.
bye fran!
Bye Franmag.
I should go too, I'm getting big spaniel eyes from near the floor
Well get up off the floor, then,
accompanied by sad sighs
this dog has never been walked, never been loved ...
I came home yesterday to be treated to Spangle in full howl. It's quite funny.
lol i bet! I wish hobbit would howl. she refuses to. never heard her howl
I had only been away about half an hour but I could hear this baying from outside the front door. A real head back job.
wow! impressive! spaniel of the baskervilles
Oh absolutely. Her barks and howls are very impressive.
yay spangle!
ok, must go. back later!
Bye for now, Atalante.
I'd already chosen my wedding dress, however having reviewed the photos I might have to change my mind, it was so classy!!
Good girl, Katie. Make babble proud of you. Going for the record?
Might have to up the budget for the wedding though :-)
So, do without things like a house or furniture. Get your priorities right.

Yah lynxx for retireing
TY Peri & Infernal - I am over the moon!
in7/36 - another term for stupidity or dullness of thought
pi7/44 - the plural of pi6/30 - looking and sounding faintly like a flying rat but bearing a resemblance to a language also.
Haz I am stuck on that in 7 word as well, can you give the third letter maybe?
thanks Haz, will look
The next letter is a vowel, inge.
It works from the left hand side i.

Kris - use yr labels - vowel before the 3rd letter and change last letter for plural
in7 - in, a vowel, a baby louse, a sometimes vowel adds up to something silly.
hi and thanks
Fish me
Haz, if there is one thing worse than a rat, it is a flying rat - which I call a bat!
Hello ZZen - think of lofts and men in flat caps.
Hi Zenmed - then you have no chance of getting the pi6.30
Hi Zen and bats are not flying rats that would and always will be pigeons
see .....i like pigeons
The Germans think of bats as flying mice, you have good grounds for the thought, Zen.
But in crowds, rolin?
Rolin Pigeons at The GPO in the city use your head as a marking spot for pooping on
i have it Haz & lynxxx, but thanks anyway - pigeons are bad but bats are nightmarish....
yup..even in crowds...im devastated trafalgar square is a no pigeon zone now
I like bats
And yet they're protected. (Bats, I mean)
Hi Rolin
hi all!
yeah lady..i know...i even had one poop on me in bath...but..i can live with that...i love the sound of a wood pigeon
Hi Temple
How did they achieve that rolin? Did they put up really strong warning notices?
i HATE bats
Hello TO.
Yes, it is absurd, i say let them go extinct
a nice round 30 left for my morning coffee...goodnight everyone. and hi T Owl
haz..theyve banned ppl from feeding them..and put up spikes on all the ledges..
hey lynxxxx
Good night lynxxx, no work in the morning!
Why so insects and a few other things that live off them Die out too?
So the warning notices weren't enough, then/
bats are ugly,..and they bump into things...*shudder..
Insects live off bats?
nah..pigeons are tough...words cant scare them..lol
I am with you there Rolin
I haven't spotted a redundant apostrophe, have I,rolin?
No, it's my eyes, they're getting worse.
lol...*hands you my glasses*...i gave up apostrophes when i became a netty
A local restaurant is advertishing room for party's.
Bats are not only hideously ugly, they are positively evil-looking
Some of the smaller bat species are important pollinators of some tropical flowers. Indeed, many tropical plants are now found to be totally dependent on them, not just for pollination, but for spreading their seeds by eating the resulting fruits
Probably aimed at School Principles who are retiring.
zenmed...im with you..
May I please have a clue for the LAST cy ?
good morning...day all...are we liking today's grid?...or no?
zenmed...in melb and sydney...the fruit bats go and live nin the public gardens in the middle of town... its an amazing sight... but they destroy the trees.... theyve tried everything to....relocate ...them
cy + heavy weight
ty Zen
One of my sillier phone calls was from a lady wanting to know how to get rid of a bat in her kitchen. 'Just show your mother in law the door,' I said.
~!~!~!~!~!FIREWORKS!~!~!~!~!~
hehehe....good one haz
lmao @ haz
I didn't really, but I should have done. It was on a par with getting rid of woodlice.
<POMOPM TOSS> for kristine
But if we stoopid humans didn't destroy bat habitats they wouldn't cause problems
the worst thing to have is a possum in your roof
Okay, back to the sweeping of the floors now that we;ve rid the world of bats and pigeons.
Now I must go and get my baby ready for her first day ALONE at Kindergarten !! She's already in hysterics !!! Gonna be a long 4 hours
Are possums bad, then, rolin?
Oh yes, bring on the mother-in-law jokes Haz - always appreciated
Bad language and anti-social behaviour? They should probably have their own social workers, they're just misunderstood.
possums are beautiful... but when they pi** above your ceiling...the yellow stain is there for ever
<promise an afternoon of shopping or icecream or soem other treat kristine>
Rolin we are very lucky. We have a pair of Leadbetter possums in are vicinity
YES. IT WORKed
i'm trying everything i got carlee , She's just so stuck to me, I don t know how she made it through head start
That can't be good, rolin.
in the city..??..very cool
I suppose city possums have their pick of ceilings.
its not..the reality is sometimes you have to getw the whole ceiling replastered..
hi all clue for last ta 5 14 please
reese's peanut butter cups ALWAYS worked for me..from toilet trainign to early school
Yep in the burbs off all places. Its the Bush tail possums that are irritating.
It's probably a conspiracy between possums and plasterers.
You'll probably find that the plasterers have them trained.
ooh she loves those or maybe I can tell, her she can vacuum when she gets home SHE LOVES THAT LOL
Thanks for the info Rolin - I have even more reason now not to go to Sydney & Mel.
possums arent common in the city...tho with the extra rubbish generated youd think they would be
lol....haz..careful..someone may consider you cynical..
Moi?
lol...zenmed..its seasonal..
Rolin um they are a pest in the city gardens
Yellow stains on the pavement?
yeah herin..i was sorta thinking more residential..

Oh. Pest central in the burbs
Jokes & a bit of franglais too - excellent Haz
Ok Kris best of luck?
lol... all this talk of possums is making feel like dame edna..i better get back to work...see you all later...
The pavement layers probably have their own fleet of possums.
I can fairly have the old franglais.
Ok Rolin
See you later rolin!
I worked out a way to get rid of men folk

And he punches people!
yes, that man is beyond a joke
yes! omg! its outrageous, really. he deserves eggs thrown at him
Hi all!
hi scrabs!
If you had lined up the cabinet and said,'Which of these men is likely to have an affair?' would anybody have picked out Cook, BLunkett and Prescott?
Hi Scrabbler
No wonder the country is in a mess with that idiot in charge of some things...
Hey Owl--what time do you start work?
hi scrabs!
Hello Scrabbler.
*certainly* not robin cook!
7:30 AM Tuesday! : D
Hi Lady, Hazel, Ata, and all lurkers!
The living embodiement of a garden gnome, was Robin Cook.
morning Scrabbler
I thought Robin Cook was quite cute...
Lurkers? Could John Prescott be a lurker?
Good for you, Owl! I have to work Sunday but will kayak today, clean tomorrow and relax Monday.
Hi Nono!
Behave yourself, Zen. He had a face only a mother could love.
i must be in to work between 6 and 8:30
hi Scrabbler
Hi Brooklyn Annie!

Okay, we'll let the cuteness go if it's the cerebral kind.

good for youscrabs! i am going to NJ tomorrow for a visit
To see your dad, Owl?
Afternoon all, Happy Fridays :)
yes, he was clever ... he had that over Prescott
We would have no Iraq debacle if they had listened to Robin Cook
Good day, Good day, FMitch!
yes. he was to come here, but changed his mind.
hey mitch!
Hi FMItch---our birthday month is almost here!
That is true, he did show political principle.
Sadly we would Zen
Hi Mitch
Hey all *big glad to see you grin* Yes it is Scrabbler teehee
Hi Zenmed
So, where have you been this morning, FMitch?
Hi scrab
hi FM
FM! We have a New Dress!
I've been to the market and got lots ov lovely fresh fruit and veg ... and then did a lttle er, retail therapy. We do Ata?
Prepare yourself.
LOL, "retail therapy"! I love that term!
ata, youricon cracks me up! it looks so good in chat log size
oh we do!!
Scrabbler is your day before mine or after I can't remember?
http://tinyurl.com/2xdwfg
*grins* blame FM. her idea
Mine is the 8th--yours, hmmmm, 15th or 20th? I remember it was after mine.
I did about $100 of retail therapy
And we've deduced that the wearers of the dress are probably related.
well i am thinking about it. but i need all big $$$ stuff
clue for no 4/4 please
A musical term back a vowel?
OMG faints and is speechless at The Dress
That dress...OMG!!!! For one day, for a wedding...OMG!!
a babblet
Good, isn't it?
afternoon all :-)
Where can I see THE DRESS?
we are back on the dress then?
can anyone rememebr the other link with the jordan carriage?
... and they had to push her up the aisle???
Hi katie
She's young (16), she's Irish (O'Brien), she's tanned, she's inspired by Jordan.
GBL--no4 bene. Or no + *h*nk you very much.
I make that a definite connection.
Hi Katie
Hey TO have you started writing your piece on the music fest yet? Scrabbler mines the 17th, lets pick a date inbetween and have a big babble party
And don't you recall seeing her in the disco shot of the second wedding?
I may not work but i do all the domestic chores and dont pay rent or bills. I do save my meager income
OK, FMitch!!
She was the one mouthing to her dancing partner 'Why didn't we get our wedding on TV?'
no, mitch. babblecast seems to have enought material.
Life NEVE ceases to amaze me. Scrabbler how about the 12th and we can ask babbler if the theme can be our joint celebration?
Babblecast--LOL---I never finished listening to the fecal commentary.
can I have the link to the DRESS so I can see the wedding inspired?
mornin babblers!
TO, type it up and we can put it on BabAnon so people can read it at their leisure.!
hi EvaN
Great idea, FMItch. I want a chocolate fudge cake.
here's the bubble coach: http://tinyurl.com/e8jrd
Hi Eva
for god's sake the girl is marrying a GARDENER
how is everyone?
Yes, but he's a direct descendant of Capability Brown.
She has a greenhouse under that dress
The bride arrived at the church in a glass carriage, pulled by six horses, and had to be lifted out by 3 men and assorted members of the wedding party. Her gown was so wide it became stuck in the church door, so she was tugged into the church. Then 20 guests had to push and pull Carly up the aisle toward her groom, Michael Coffey, 17. This took an hour and a half, possibly the longest bride walk in history. Afterwards, she was so exhausted that her new husband and 14 relatives had to carry her from the chapel.
thanks, Ata, going to see
And at 17 there's plenty of potential for the years ahead.
Well, when they have their first big fight he can take his hoe and rake and shred that giant marshmallow of a dress.
LOL, FMitch!!!!
disco shot....what disco shot? There is a dress I am missing out on!! I've seen the Jordon inspired one is there another one?
Imagine the christening dresse for the offspring
Calm down Katie. You will need all your wits about you when you view the videos.
Imagine the offspring!!!!
i see we are still discussing inane bridal catastrophes. ;)
any picturesof the groom?
Who has the links for the scary wedding - the one with the pink bridesmaids and Michael Jackson crawling up the aisle under the dress.
Hi EvaN, how are you?
Hi FM, btw
jac's got them in her profile, I'll grab them
Eva - you're heading towards an in 7 with your adjective.
Getting ready for her big day: http://tinyurl.com/2kdqre The lovely ceremony: http://tinyurl.com/2b8vku Party down: http://tinyurl.com/26m4dn
(i had emailed them to a friend, so they were handy...heh)
Hey Zen and hello :)
even easier :D
No room for the groom, TO>
Glad to see $25 000 quid being waisted on a 16 year old whom i have no doubt will divorce him in 4 years
Bear in mind that Katie is getting married soon. She's hoping for inspiration.
well, well, whoda thunk it -- thanks haz!
There'll be no divorce. They're Irish.
catholic church
pffft still can leave him
Papal disapproval.
surprised to see there is a wedding
No, they'll stick together.
surprised to see there is a wedding and thanks for th in clue, i was lost after ixnay
wonder what the bridesmaids looked like this time
AAAAAHHHHHH - blocked by the thought police will have to wait until I get home. will definitely be looking for ideas for a good wedding :-)
Don't think they are too bothered by the pape these days,Haz
I still think they'll be pink.
they can get it annulee. on the gorounds of innsufficient mental capacity. the dress is the evidence
lol very true TO!
Zen - I reckon the brides we're talking about are probably from travelling families, so they're very traditional in their family life, if not in their taste.
Ata did you by chance see 8 out of 10 cats on Ch4 last night?
pink and feathery and fluffy
no, I didn't ...
Good lord, I saw the dress. I once was at a wedding where the bride and groom were to come up through an opening in the middle of the dance floor. The elevator became jammed and all we could see were their heads sticking out of the floor like mushrooms. It took an hour to get them out. I found it quite schmaltzy. Overdone to vulgarity
Bum, keep an eye out if it is repeated or if you can watch on E4 so such
what was on it?
That sounds so good, Annie - stupid people trying to make a show!
Yes spending $61 000 Aus is a fantastic idea.
Did any UK people see the teenage brides programme on tv a couple of weeks ago (you see I am obsessed!) there was a 16 yr old whose dress was nearly as bad she looked about 40
omg annie! too much!
in7/36 clue please?
Charile from BB was on the panel and some ex BBs were there too. She was beautifully shot downin flames
hints for the O or A on the top row?
That was the dress we were talking about, katie. A slightly overdone make-up look.
flask -- stupidity
Ata they convinced her that Ghandi was a cool dude and she asked to be hooked up with him!!!!!
ap4 - describing the position of the pea.
a= footless
op6 - a class of drug
thanks haz!
You're welcome.
that OP is staring out at me now...hah
OMG! LMAO!
On a completely different note, the gird is a good brain workout today
gee and i thought it ws just u.s. that was going to hell in a handbasket ; )
glad to see that we americans dont have the market cornered on white trash. ;)
Now I get it!!! I must have missed the cost and the stuck down the aisle bit, it was fantastic classy tv
Yes, Taste with a capital T.
lol unfortunately not EvaN
snap evan! i feel much better now that i know it's the whole civilzation
Mitch have you noticed no R's today or yesterday??
Oh Yes considering that dress is the just above British yearly wage
But FM's to blame for the downward spiral.
yes, ive heard that absolutely everything is FMitch's fault
Mind you I have got addicted to Wedding TV which is mainly Canadian programmes, honestly rich bride poor bride is quality tv, how some of them make it up the aisle is beyond me. The for better or for worse is car crash tv with relatives organising the wedding on a $5000 budget
Everything.
absolutely everything
Tout.
(She's to blame for everything French as well)
Yes Flask and only a few c's. Hey!! here we go again with the "It's all my fault stuff"" *sighs resignedly*
and German. especially German
Katie i had to cater for 20 with a $150
haz == everything Pi6 as well?
You name it, she's responsible.
Katie
well i am going to take my walk - see you later!
I'll have to get a Tshirt that says Blame me, everyone does :)
can someone help me with the go4,6? just kidding.
See you later, TO, hope you feel better.
Bye TO enjoy
Katie i have a web site for you that may help
It was more the relatives deciding on everything without any input from the bride and groom that frightened me!
are all of the W words WH?
Katie
Just get a T-shirt saying ' sorry for everything'. That should cover it.
That sounds rather too door matish for me Haz
I don't know about the w words, I'd forgotten there was a grid.
There is 1 x we5/22
Never be a door mat, FMitch, it's good to show a little resistance.
thanks FMitch -- its your fault i know that now. :)
KATIEEEEEEE
Glad to be of assistance EvaN, any time *grin*
Sorry helping lad at work doing his list as he has just moved into a new house he forgot that he needed a can opener!! What is the web site?
Back from the grid - poor Fm, what's she done to deserve all the opprobrium?????
ok www.simplesavings.com.au look at the tip sheets theres one on weddings
she's done everything. its allher fault
She's done everything, that's why it's all her fault.
its also her fault my cat has just been sick
Sick again - not more furballs?
You can get a special diet for furballs.....
Does she cast wicked spells??
It's probably hugely expensive but cheaper than replacing carpets.
no, she just scarfed down a huge bowl of food ....
Zan, you have the opportunity to be unique and NOT blame me for anything.
I was off packing for my kayaking trip. FMitch, do you need some assistance with this trash talking.
No, Zen, no spells but we can usually see her influence on things like global warming and Paris Hilton.
Ah well, the furball diet can be put on hold, then.
LOL no thanks Scrabbler, if they feel the need to transfer blame/guilt, it's OK by me.
I think my cat casts spells though
(Did Scrabbler just call us trash?)
You are a wonderful martyr, FMitch.
I think so!
FM, no blaming from me - till i see any evidence
No, just the talk is trash, LOL.
Boooooooooooo to Scrabbler!
down with bunnies!
Canoes are rubbish!
Not a myrtyr Scrab just lots of capacity and broad shoulders
Doctors stink!
(I couldn't be bothered trying to remember how to spell paediatrician in a hurry)
I come to FMitch's defense and look what happens, LOL. OK, I confess, most of world's problems are my fault as well.
steady on haz
Anyhoo I'm going to go and email Babbler and try and book our Birthday Park Scrabs, you had better start drawing up the invite list.
ooooooh no they aren't!
Hope that helps Katie
*party not park!
Let's invite all lurkers too. We need to meet them.
Okay, some doctors stink. Ones that call us trash, anywya.
anyway - a bit of a ty4/7 there.
How to amuse a cat for free - put on dvd turn to save screen, mines a bouncing circle and watch as kitty tries to get said circle
It,s not all FM's fault; it's scrabbler's....
TY for the clue, Hazel
You're welcome Scrabbler.
FMitch and I need to undergo exorcisms, then all will be well in the world.

:) either is fine
Confusion in numbers, lol
Evening all. Just looking back on the chat, the 'we' word has another meaning. See my icon clues.
Fortunately, I don't deal in large numbers very often, particularly in international sets.
dang pixie, i like numbers and once took french. yet i knew none of that. thanks
Hellooo jac
nice icon clues jac! 3 for 1!
Hi, feather!
Hi, jilli. Was looking at your pics earlier. V. nice. Lovely to see a group of Babblers together. I wonder... what would be a good collective noun?
a gaggle of geese...a baggle of babblers?
Hi, feather. I like to give value! LOL. Was looking at your blog earlier, too. Love the 'What is a Boy?' thing.
isn't that just awesome?
a blab of Babblers?
feather - It is! I've saved it to put in a card next time someone I know has a baby boy.
Jellen - not bad.
very cool jac
hmm, i'm not doing well with the grid
A gaggle of Babblers? A clue of Babblers?
Hello all.
Maybe we should ask Nut to have a poll on that on Babblecast?
i like my baggle
Hi, Scrabbs and Callie.
It will be hard to beat a murder of crows
hi scrab
True, jilli. That's one of my favorite collective nouns.
jilli - true! Not sure I fancy a 'mass murder' of Babblers though or a 'massacre' of Babblers. LOL
Hi, Scrabbler
Callie is right next to me. She is grooming herself as she sits on her little carpet. Her big right hind foot is sticking out and she is licking it.
an Addiction of Babblers
How about a grid of Babblers?
hi callie!
Yes, Lynxxx!!!
I think lynxxx just won! Excellent!
stuck on my last four fa5,20 fa6,33 na6,18 and ta5,14... Any help please!!!
good one, lynxxx!
morning Jac, Jellen, Feather etal......and Congrats Jilli!
na6 -- a country
Are all of the W words "wh"?
Hi, lynxxx!
how'd i miss that ending?
we5/22
jac has a clue for a we5 in her icon
fa5 & 6, jvane are Oliver's thief master and plural.
fa5/20 -- the Dickens bad guy who taught pickpockets
na6/18, jvane, is a country as a whole. You might do na****al service or be in the na6al guard.
jacula has a clue in her icon for the ta5
ok, have found 50. off to the showers to ease my migraine. daniel's with daddy on a walk and nick's asleep in the swing, whew. might be back later this evening to finish one handed!
ta5/14 is one of my icon clues, jvane.
Thanks everyone!!! down to just the ta5,14 the last one...
I don't know what we5 is from Jacula's clue.
'Bye feather/heather. See you again.
Oh, no, Feather. You have a migraine? That stinks!
scrb, it's a weird word
Bye Feather..look after yourself
yeah, from overdoing it i'm sure.
bye, Feather
hi im new
hi im new
take care, feather
haven't had much choice though, unfortunately.
is there a dy?
Hi citizen. Welcome.
oops double post lol
hi citizen
I think there was a movie director Ben He***
Scrabbs - we + first 2 letters of a card sharp (**eat) + consonant that sounds like British breakfast drink.
Hi Citizen - welcome
Hi, citizen
hi citizen. check out the "help" icon above chat, and also look into lickety's clues, linked in friends of babble, bottom left.
ok, off.
cool thanks guys
OK, TY, Jacula.
lynxxx - no 'dy' words.
bfn -- other things to do which I've been neglecting
TY Jac
TTFN, jilli.
y/w, lyn.
Bye, jilli!
bye Jilli
dygs and pygs look good to me and fatino (a po5/22 Latino):D
marty's THIRD walk was a definite success. he only meowed when i carried the stroller down the front steps and when i tried to take a side trip up a driveway to show him some deer.
Hello, hursh.
Marty the Adventurer!
hello
sooner or later, hopefully, i'll get out the stroller and tell him to hop in and he will. he does that with the scale.
How old is Marty?
7
hursh - If I'd read your blog I might know why your cat needs to go out in a stroller (pushchair?)
I'm wondering how my 13-year-olds would react to a stroller. One of them very badly, I suspect.
my cat doesn't need to go out in a stroller, i need to get exercise, and i'm more motivated if i bring him along for company.
afternoon all
marty is the most tolerant of my three cats. mitten i'm going to try taking at some point, cinder would definitely NOT be a fan.
Hi, moo!
anyone clue me on the in7?
Oh, I see, hursh. I take it that like my cats he's not 'in4/4' a leash then?
Hi, moo.
heya ja
i'm gonna leave my fireworks i guess... sigh... going to go research grad schools
im back!
good luck with the grid all :) have a good one :)
In7 is another word for craziness (clinically speaking) minus the s
sounds like too much for one person stud
in7, moo, is total stupidity or the banal and vaccuous.
put any of my cats on a leash and (like most cats, i suspect) they plop down on the ground and say, "WHAT on earth do you think you are doing? i refuse to go anywhere in this undignified condition."
bye Tragic
Bye, tragic
hursh - yup!
my cats are inside cats but whens its nice i would bring them in the small fenced in yard but my one cats Gizmo wants to go out all the time now and goes nuts.. trying to open all the doors in the house.. meowing like crazy
oh duh...thx jac
help with last ta5/14 please...
that's fireworks for me
90/5/1 today
i kind of wanted to get a dog, but there were many reasons against it, so, a cat stroller it is.
sounds like a flower jv
ta5= rhymes with a flower that starts with a p
if you change the first letter to t
Hurshy... they have a double decker stroller for cats! lol
sorry if you change the first letter FROM t
one cat ont he bottom one on the top
last ta5/14 is a strong-smelling herb with yellow flowers like buttons. Rhymes with the flower that has a 'face'.
mine has a basket to carry stuff under the main part, i'm thinking about making a top flap if mitten ends up liking it so i could take them both.
Thank you Jellen and Moolingwa
carra - Is Gizmo a boy or a girl?
Congrats Moolingwa
Well done, Moo!
I'm off to enjoy a lovely bright Saturday...see you all later
Congrats, moo!!
Bye, lynxxx
http://www.mightypets.com/KittyWalk/Ki ttyWalk-Strollers/Stroller-Double-Deck er_large.jpg
'Bye, lyn. Hope tomorrow (Saturday) will be bright here in UK, too.
Gizmo is a boy
i JUST spent ninety bucks on THIS stroller...
here is gizmo http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v353 /miss_carra/Animals/IMG_1116.jpg
hursh - here's the easy form of the address for the stroller pic: http://tinyurl.com/2ojqgn
Cute cat, carra.
he is my girl lexi http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v353 /miss_carra/Animals/lexionback.jpg
and this is d_o_g trying to sleep when i was playing babble lol http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v353 /miss_carra/Animals/IMG_3317.jpg
hey sexy bitches
ty jellen
hi everyone
Cute cat, carra! My rabbit, Gandalf, looks like that cat.
Hi annoyance & saph
hey
Your cat's name is Dog?
well that is sort of neat, mine is the petgear ultralight one. it's good. i sort of like that the mesh is dark so theoretically someone might think i'm just walking a baby, like a normal person....
Hi, saphyre
hello?
hi wild
Hi, wild
d-o-g.. ( dee*oh*gee)
hey
carra - He's cute. That explains the noise and insistence on going out then. I just wondered if it was queen on heat behaviour. Obviously not.
lol
some people have gender identity issues, that cat is going to have species identity issues
I was looking at pet strollers on line last night, Hursh, after you mentioned them. The choices are incredible. I am not sure if any of my rabbits would tolerate a ride.
A bit like A Boy Named Sue.
do you ever travel with your rabbits?
la la la la la who's bored?
yeah theres some cute pet strollers with mesh that look like short regular baby stoller.. someone had a puppy in one
No, except when they go to the vet's office. I have a carrier crate, or wrap them in a baby blanket.
lol hurshy.. he owns up to his name.. when someone knocks he growls.. he carries a small teddy in his mouth all the time http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v353 /miss_carra/Animals/dogcarryingteddy2. jpg
a girl named ryan
oh, oh well. i was thinking you could bring one for a visit and try out my stroller :) lol
girls who get named things that are usually boys names just seem really hip. it does NOT work the other way around.
back. i feel about half human now instead of 1/4
spock is half human, you're in good company.
hi feather
Hi feather. Are you one-handed or two-handed at present?
and darn kid defies propping! no matter how i prop his head, he finds a way to roll it down to the side
you all got boyfriends?
OMG!!
two handed. nick's in the swing and daniel's on a walk with daddy
i don't have a boyfriend *wicked grin*
lol hursh, bad girl
lol naghty girl
i have ppl fightin ova me sometimes 2day ppl got into a fistfight
u wish
carra - when you post the url for an image it makes it easier for people to see it in one click on here if you go to tinyurl.com first and reduce the url down to one line.
wow I'm jealous wild22 :)
really it happened
if a guy was stupid enough to get in a fistfight over me or anything else, i don't think he would be the sort of person i could have any sort of conversation with.
That would be fun, hurshy. Sebastian would travel well. He is the little guy. When I took him to the vet in January I put him in my jacket and zipped him up in there for the ride. Just his little head was popping out.
whteva
thanks jac.. didnt know there was a site like that.. saved it to my favorites
i still want a bunny.
fine ur choice
yup
the boys are back from their walk
y/w, carra.
so get a bunny
FYI, I did inform the boss about the code red.
feather - wait until the boys are a bit older and then they can help with the bunny,
Clue for ch6/24?
hi folks, could someone clue in7/36 please??
aww, daniel has a blood blister on his finger! he was whacking rocks together, and hit his finger. daddy's fixing him up.
Hey colhad--I haven't seen you in forever.
how DO you fix a blood blister?
Hi, Colhad
i have 3 cats, all of which would also love a bunny. but in a different way.
my sister brought home her class pet it was a rabbit.. my cats didnt like him much.. he would try to molest d-o-g lol but he was short hair.. with a patch of long hair right between his ears which i loved
Jellen - Tai Ch* + heavy weight.
in7==stupid behavior
thanks scrabbler
we're just putting a bandaid over it so if it pops it won't make a mess.
TY, jacula
hi Jellen, scrabbler
ty, Jac
I would just ice a blood blister.
Poor little Daniel has an owie.
feather - LOL. Oh dear!
fix a blood blister, just get a needle :P
I am so sore from kayaking--must get drugs.
I have 4 cats and there are days they drive me nuts
ok, he's rubbing it on an ice pack.
feather - the LOL was about the cats not Daniel, btw.
Colhad - a sterilised needle!
colhad hands Scrabbler some steroids
yeah, one of our cats caught a bat once. mighty huntresses
yati
|
sorry
oops don't know how that happened. daniel was over here.
Is a yati an abominable snow woman? (Yatters a lot).
Jacula, I was thinking a rusty nail :P
Colhad - LOL
feather - did the bat survive? Or did the cat get rabies?
Great idea, Colhad, LOL
bat was deader than a doornail, cat was fine.
Tetanus jabs all round; Colhad is in the house!;)
Naproxen is down the hatch...I will await relief.
Oh, well. Could I have a clue for na 4/4, please?
Scrabbs - hope relief comes soon.
did you have fun though scrabs? that's the important part!
grandmothers
Poor bat! Well, given my name, you can see my concern, feather.;)
could someone clue the two big pi words please
What about grandmothers, hursh?
ty, hurshy.
jellen needed a clue for na4/4
I'm not one yet, so you can say what you like. *grins*
It was for me, Jac.
Jellen, it's NOT nano, and I say, why NOT?
Oh right, hursh. I missed that.
sound of music is on lol
grandmothers are very nice. at least, mine are.
JBS - I tried nano earlier.
We kayaked to a little island in the lake and made a campfire. We collected rocks from the lake and put them in a circle. We stacked up branches, started the fire and then feared getting caught as the smoke floated away. It was not a designated campsite. (But, it was not not designated either.)
I wondered about that too, JBs
carra, and Doctor Who is NOT on tonight, boo hoo!
lol sc
Wh 5/24 clue?
Jac, you would think that they'd update the dictionary, hmm?
JBs - my Other Half (Paul69) was watching Dr Who, a repeat, on TV earlier.
wh5/24 colour with a sometimes vowel at the end
JBs - The number of times I've typed in 'mosh' only to have it rejected in grids wherein it appears. *sigh*
Hi all
*sighs* right along with Jac
We planned everything today---we brought a large can (a coffee can), foil, pancake batter, butter, maple syrup...and we made ourselves pancakes on our campfire.
could someone clue the two big pi words please
Fireworks for me!
hi yoink
TY, Colhad
gidday Yoink
I always try mosh too Jac
Hi yoink
Hiya, Yoink. Oh, and 'hiya' isn't in Enable either.
Hi, Yoink
yahoooo Jellen!
Betcha they were good, Scrabs!! I LOVED making pancakes over an open fire (years ago)
Colhad, they rhyme with the bird that poops in parks and on statues
Scrabbs - did you save any pancakes for me??
It should be, Jac! Who do we write to for complaints? (other than Hursh who heads the No Trolls Department!)
Well done, jellen.
Yay, Jellen!
pi6 is a blend of two languages; pi + consonant + alcohol served with tonic
While the fire was getting going, we took a swim, sans clothing. then we warmed up at the fire, cooked.....it was a great day until some people came on to "our" island.
when did i acquire this office? dr_god can be emailed via link at bottom of page.
hello all!
Nope, sorry, Jacula. But we will do campfire cooking again soon as it was so much fun.
I suppose you had to put your clothes on then, Scrabbs?
Hi, dan.
Guess you're just lucky, Hurshy
hi, dan
Hursh, you're kinda like a saint (Caltholicism) to intercede for us "little people" <little grin>
Jacula, we were about to have another swim when we heard voices. We were disappointed that someone violated our privacy as they had paddled past us and saw us there. Then they hiked all over and past us....I would never had done that.
heavens to betsy
How rude of them, Scrabbler!
Exactly, hurshy!
Paul's been enjoying a week of sans clothes after work whilst the kids and our next-door neighbours are away. However, neighbours came home yesterday...
Late hello's to Yoink & Dan
And hiya to everyone else
That's why you should take a rifle camping with you, Scrabbler
Kids are still in The Serengeti (Tanzania).
Yoink - LOL!
So he's like an emperor with new clothes, Jac?
My friend was stoking the fire with a long branch and joked that we could play "Survivor" and spear them with the fire-tipped spear.
Late hi to dan
thanks Scrabbler, fireworks for me too now
hey ever1!
It was a mom and dad and a little boy, and it is a small lake so there were not concerns about safety.
I'll stay and give clues for a dollar
Congrats, Colhad!
When I was a kid we used to go to a 7-mile long beach that had an unoffical 'naturist/nudist' end. We kids used to try to creep up on the nudies through the dunes but they always spotted us. My gran, however, used to monopolise and get eyefuls through my uncle's binoculars and say it was 'disgusting!'
Yippee Colhad!!
Hey NH
lol, Jac
thanks Scrabbler, Jellen
hey
Yay, Colhad! Hi, iluvNH! - is that we're you're from? I was born there!
JBs - he is not. All crestfallen, poor man.
LOL, Jacula----using the binoculars to spy and then saying it was disgusting, LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ty Anno
so wht we talkin bout?
The right column is grey, yeah!
wht?
We are talking about words!!
*yawn* morning all
Hey MRP!
Back for a minute -- just googled "billion" because of a previous discussion -- I'll put the different versions in my profile if anyone is still interested.
Hi Mr P
Hi, Mrp!
Scrabbs - thing was it was the men playing cricket at the sea's edge she had the binocs mostly trained on! She didn't half used to puff (with disgust?) when the men ran and bent down to pick up a ball. It's only looking back as an adult that I can see why my parents and aunts, and uncles, were laughing so much.
It is a great story, Jacula!
Sorry no replies, had to be afk for a minute. {{{mrp!!}}}
morning jbs!!
Hi, MrP.
i love N.H.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
good morning mr pres
hi jac :)
So, usually when I get on at 6-7am my time, mrp, it's supper time for you. What time is it for you now?
hi mr p
hi carle :))
so..how is everyone this evening/ am?
the lad is sure enthusiastic about his (or her) geography!
it is 9.20am saturday... watching the tennis :)
Scrabbs - no wonder my grandad used to stick the newspaper over his face and go to sleep! She'd ruined HIS chances of being a 'beachbabe magnet' by knitting him a pair of maroon woollen trunks...
Hi, Carlee
there is tennis this early in the day?
hi yoink
Woolen trunks? Itchy!
LOL, Jac!!! Wouldn't wanted to get THOSE wet!
there is tennis in NY... watching the US Open
And woolen trunks would be very heavy when wet.
i've seen several potential UTBs tonight, what's up with that?
They were fine until he tried to swim... and then emerge from the water. The sodden wool brought the crotch down to his knees and the poor man didn't know whether to wring that out or hold 'em up or both. It's on a movie film of my late-uncle's somewhere.
Hi, carlee.
Now THAT would be something to see on YouTube!!!
vgbhjbnfghjfdghfdtydfr655fguyhtr67tr67
UTB'S...did I miss something scrabs?
hey jacs
Feather, refresh my memory - UTB's? Unmitigated Trolls Biting?
oops I mean feather
iluvNH, if you're here to play the game, then welcome. if not, you might find yourself kicked off by the site admin.
UTB, under the bridge
im here 4 both
Or the Saint Administrator!!
right..utb
I e-mailed Dr God about a previous potty-mouthed proposal for women.
BBS.
C ya, Jac, maybe later!
who was it?
well, good luck with the game then. otherwise, please keep the pranks to a minimum. or none at all would be better!
I have to admit Dr god is pretty good about that.and replies to let you know the situation has been resolved
oy vey, can you tell i'm in my "migraine mood" tonight?
or if you are a Drifters fan: Under the boardwalk

feather, I'm right there with you. This has been a hellish week for me
can't see the middle cy5/16
welcome feather.... want the foot rub afterwards....I LOVED those when the I had the newborns
Yoink, that's a good song that you now have playing in my head! "...and now, here he is, live - Yoink, Your Mental DJ!"
plural of a cy4
PL, feather--and I am looking for the last cy5 now
i need a neck/shoulder/head rub. half wishing i had the time to go in for a massage again!
I'm back - only went to get a drink. I'm here to clue, btw. There are 3 clues to start you off in my bio.
darn, thought i did that plural! i have a sticky C key, must have mistyped it
ok..I do those too...
And very helpful they were, thanks, Jac!
last one has a heavy weight at the end
Last cy5 = cy + heavy weight.
JBs, that's good as long as you don't have the dodgy 80s Bruce Willis version in your head
TY, feather
I iwsh I had ice cream in the freezer, but it is better that I do not.
Nope, Yoink, I'm a 60's child, there's only one version I can hear in my head!
Let's play 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' to sooth feather.
ok..well..if jacs is here to clue..am off....ur in goo dhands...I'll go read my new book
Scrabbler, I'm willing to share - B&J's Twisted and/or Cherry Garcia!
carlee - what are you reading?
What book, Carlee?
daniel wants a "noba" bar. anyone want to guess what that is?
Bye Carlee. That's good JBs, it would be a sin any other way
A long Way gone by ishmael Beah, memoirs of a child soldier
Chocolate, JB, I need chocolate!
granola bar?
evening all-need clue for gi7/44 anyone?
I borrowed The Kite Runner to read over this weekend, I've heard really good reviews
No idea, feather. Might be a USA one we don't have here in UK.

Woohoo!
*Tossing the Twisted to Scrabbler* Look out!!!!!
gi7=really huge weight

JBs, really great book
Carlee - made a note of that. Thanks. BTW, earlier in the log I saw someone mention that Babblers have a reading grou somewhere. Might have been goodread.com. Not sure.
Aha, I caught it, JB! I need to let it melt a bit, then I will scrape it off the sides and finish up the whole pint!
I think I'm off to read, too.
Thanks, Jac, I'll check that out - I really need to connect to a reading group!
tx scrabbler

There are several babblers who joined goodreads.com and listed each other as friends. I'm one of them.
Go go hurshy!
..and what is Jellen reading?
go hurshy..go hurshy *unpoofed*
Whoo hoo, Scrabs!! (enjoy, Jellen!) It's doubly good, with huge pieces of Reese's Cup and fudge covered nuts! mmmmmmmmmm
look for me, and then you can see who my friends are....all babblers
I wonder if goodread.com is allied to goodwriting.com? I know the former site.
I'm reading The Book of Evidence by John Banville
i've only semi started listing my books
hurshy, you're inspiring me!
i get a 404 error on goodread.com
www.goodreads.com
i am?
goodreadS
**entering chocolate-peanut utopia now** **blood glucose and tryglyceride levels are rising**

LOL, JBs.
Oh, good, the station changed the song!

Hursh - it's 'daily'.

Hi, Minver.
Good, scrab, taht is what I said, after she scrubs it with Woolite
Hi Minveryork. Welcome to the grid. How are you tonight?
Feather, think of how Scrabbler and I will look after we each eat a pint of B&J's ice cream!

Last po5 is speakers' rostrums.

And, JB, here is the bad part for later: I am lactose-intolerant.

Yikes, Scrabbler - cut it with coffee, quick!

Yahooo hurshy!
The joke: A woman sitting in a restaurant suddenly began to cough. After a few seconds it became apparent that she was in real distress. Two locals, MacKenzie and Donald sitting at the next table turned to look at her. " Kin ya swalla ? " Asked MacKenzie. The woman signalled 'No!' , desperately shaking her head. " Kin ya breath ? " Asked MacDonald. The woman shook her head NO !!! With that, MacKenzie walked behind her, lifted up the back of her dress, yanked down her knickers and ran his tongue up and down the crack of her backside. This shocked the woman into such a violent spasm, that the obstruction flew out of her mouth and she began to breath again. MacKenzie swaggered back to his table and took a deep swig of his beer. Donald said in admiration, "Ya know MacKenzie, I'd heard of that bloody 'Hind Lick Manoeuvre', but that's the first time I ever seen somebody do it".

"No, I don't," said the little boy. "Okay, I'll give you a clue. It's the thing your daddy wants from your Mom before he goes to work." i gotta share that joke with my neighbors. it gave me a chuckle
i have 11 to go
three vampires go into a bar. First one orders one regular; the second one the same, the third says: Make mine a light.
An Irish joke (not sure if it will translate to USA but we'll have a go): Two Irishmen walk into a pet shop in Dingle. They head to the bird section and Gerry says to Paddy, "Dat's dem." The owner comes over and asks if he can help them. "Yeah, we'll take four of dem dere little budgies in dat cage up dere," says Gerry. The owner puts the budgies in a cardboard box. Paddy and Gerry pay for the birds, leave the shop and get into Gerry's truck to drive to the top of the Connor Pass. At the Connor Pass , Gerry looks down at the 1000-foot drop and says,"Dis looks like a grand place." He takes two birds out of the box, puts one on each shoulder and jumps off the cliff. Paddy watches as the budgies fly off and Gerry falls all the way to the bottom, killing himself stone dead.
The bar tender yells : two regular and one plasma!
Oops, sorry, inge. Didn't mean to post mid-joke.
Jac, I think you will find it is a Minnesota joke
My hand is up!I finished @ 1:12 P.M. game time today
is there more, jac?
End of my joke: Looking down at the remains of his best pal, Paddy shakes his head and says, "Fook dat. Dis budgie jumping is too fook'n dangerous for me!" THERE'S MORE. . . Moments later, Seamus arrives up at Connor Pass. He's been to the pet shop too and walks up to the edge of the cliff carrying another cardboard box in one hand and a shotgun in the other. "Hi, Paddy. Watch dis," Seamus says. He takes a parrot from the box and lets him fly free. He then throws himself over the edge of the cliff with the gun. Paddy watches as half way down, Seamus takes the gun and shoots the parrot. Seamus continues to plummet down and down until he hits the bottom and breaks every bone in his body. Paddy shakes his head and says, "And I'm never trying dat parrotshooting either!" SORRY BUT IT IS NOT OVER YET... Paddy is just getting over the shock of losing two friends when Sean appears. He's also been to the pet shop and is carrying a cardboard box out of which he pulls a chicken. Sean then takes the chicken by its legs and hurls himself off the cliff and disappears down and down until he hits a rock and breaks his spine. Once more Paddy shakes his head. "Fook dat, lads! First dere was Gerry with his budgie-jumping, den Seamus parrot-shooting and now Sean and his fook'n hen-gliding!" Bill and Tom are two Irishmen working at the local sawmill. One day Bill slips and his arm gets caught and severed by the big bench saw. Tom quickly puts the limb in a plastic bag and rushes it and Bill to the local hospital. Next day, Tom goes to the hospital and asks after Bill. The nurse says, 'Oh he's out in Rehab exercising'. Tom couldn't believe it, but here's Bill out the back exercising his now reattached arm. The very next day he's back at work in the saw mill. A couple of days go by, and then Bill slips and severs his leg on another bloody big saw thing. So Tom puts the limb in a plastic bag and rushes it and Bill off to hospital. Next day he calls in to see him and asks the nurse how he is. The nurse replies, 'He's out in the Rehab again exercising'. And sure enough, here's Bill out there doing some serious work on the treadmill... ...And Bill comes back to work. But, as usual, within a couple of days he has another accident and severs his head. Wearily, Tom puts the head in a plastic bag and transports it and Bill to hospital. Next day he goes in and asks the nurse how Bill is. The nurse breaks down and cries and says, 'He's dead' Tom is shocked, but not surprised. 'I suppose the saw finally did him in?' 'No,' says the nurse.'Some dopey b*stard put his head in a plastic bag and he suffocated.'
I dont get it Jacula. Is there more to it?
That's it! Twasn't me, t'was a friend who sent it to me.

The bartender repeats,"Sorry we do not serve bears in here." The bear says, "Do you see that lady sitting over there?" Bartender says, "yep!" The bear says,"If you do not give me a drink,I will go down there & eat her up!" The bartender refuses to give the bear a drink so he goes to the lady and eats her up. The bear goes back to his seat & says, "Now will you give me a drink?"The bartender says "Nope!" The bear says, "WHAT??"The bartender says, not only do we not serve bears, but we do not serve bears on drugs."The bear says, " What? I am not on drugs! The joke:A man with a bald head and a wooden leg is invited to a fancy dress party. He doesn't know what to wear to hide his head and his wooden leg so he wrote to a fancy dress company to explain his problem. A few days later he receives a parcel with a note: Dear Sir, please find enclosed a pirate's outfit. The spotted handkerchief will cover your bald head and with your wooden leg you will be just right as a pirate. The man thinks this is terrible because they emphasized his disability, so he writes a letter of complaint. A week passes and he received another parcel. Dear Sir, sorry about the previous parcel. Please find a monk's habit. The long robe will cover your wooden leg and with your bald head you will really look the part. The man is extremely furious now, because the company has gone from emphasizing his wooden leg to rawing attention to his bald head. So he writes a really rude letter of complaint. A few days later, he gets a very small parcel from the company with an accompanying letter: Dear Sir, Please find enclosed a tin of Golden Syrup. Pour the tin of Golden Syrup over your bald head, stick your wooden leg up your bum and go as a toffee apple!

No sheesh, no hiya, no mosh, no pygs, no dygs, no fatino (po5/22) Latino. What kind of dictionary is this?

Hi lbdawger! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
TO - Oh, I should've known that!
thx, jac
Hi katmayo! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
well we were speaking franglias earlier today, so pig latin fit right in
my last is the in 7. do i need another word from the list?
However, struggling with real latin it bypassed me. My ex-Ma-in-Law is a mistress of pig latin.
in7 is stupidity and vaccousness.
Hi 72 Temple Owl! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
latin a struggle for you? that's surprising
in7/36 word is crazy without the snake letter eieios.
Funny you should have mentioned in7 in conjunction with my ex MIL. pig latin is her only skilll.
yeah, fireworks. thx, jac. i was looking for one of the grid words plus in.
yay eieios
Congratulations eieios on fireworks! Hooray for you!
oh i cannot believe i am struggling for a four letter word
Well done, eie.

TO - it's happened to the best of us... what do you need?
yay, eie
I've struggled over several four letter words before!
Wolfie - Hi. Probably.
Hello GreyWoulf! How are you? Welcome to the puzzle
:-)
omg wolfie! i wa just in your neck of the woods, and i wondered how you and the pack were!
Woulf!
Hi Temple!! We are all fine -- hootowl is visiting here so I saw her today
pam!
Sometimes struggling over 4-letter words, makes me say some not so nice 4 letter words 72 Temple Owl.
Doing well, Min -- how about yourself?
that's nice! i was at ralph's corner, then big lots
*not addicated or anything but going through entire word list now to try to work out which 4-letter word TO might not have found*
I am doing well. I finished grid early. I'm here to clue.
Or even addicted! WHY do I type addicated when I'm tired?
jacs, i am gong to give it time- i'll come back to it. not that i am stubborn or anything
Kristianna is leaning over my arm and asking to say hi to everyone (really she just wants to play with the keyboard ;-D )
woulife, any family pics lately?
Still trying to get p*ssed so I can use that as 'an excuse'.
Hi Kristi!
nothing that I have downloaded from the camera lately -- We are thinking of hitting the Ren Faire this weekend so I will make sure to get some good pics
jacs, i wanted to go to happy hour tonight but had no drinkin gbuddy...i'd help if i were there!
Woulfie!
Have a good time there, wolfie.
hey lbd!!!
I usually do, Jac -- I sometimes go in appropriate attire, but even when I don't the actors usually pick up on the fact that I am a kindred spirit
S'okay, TO. I don't really want to get p*ssed, just anaethestised enoght to sleep through my night sweats and his snoring.
aaaaaaaahhhhh... i see jacs. i WANTED to get p*ssed.
well really also aenesthezied
whoa ho! monkeyed gi7!
My kids are in the middle of the Serengeti in tents at Kuhama at present. Moving on to Ngorongoro log lodge tomorrow. Thank tha Lord for that! Tents, no all night armed guards and rigid in their tents at night with lions and hyenas circling, and the guides just laughingly saying, 'It's okay! The lights put them off.'
A heavy weight to monkey, TO!
scary thought...they will be fine.
Well, son talking to me on his Dad's mobile earlier today (Friday) so yesterday.. said, 'Well, I've walked to our perimeter now; a mown edge and then the long grass you can hardly see even lions in begins. Guess I'd better not go any further!' 'EEK! |NO! I told him. I don't want the last words I hear from my only son to be the sound of him screaming as a lion takes him'.
what a fab adventure...jacs YOU are the only one who won't survive it if you don't stop worrying
'You've got me worried now!' I told him. 'YOU'RE WORRIED?' said he. 'How do you think I feel here in a tent?' LOL
TO- I'm teasing. I'd love that adventure some day.
But... when it's your offspring... well... motherly panic IS allowed.
i am so bored here...retail therapyis getting more and more costly. today it was nearly furniture
Temple -- you were really at the Big Lots here in Lansdale?
yes i was. pciking are slim though. i bought sun chips and cookies. dispathced the former on the way home and am working on the latter
you were literally across the street from me! That's my apt complex
Son said that 'the females' (his sister, Dad's new wife and her 2 daughters.... not allowed to call any of those 'steps') scream like hell if a bug enters their tent whereas he and his Dad 'go rigid' when they hear heavy animals prowling around outside... i.e. 3 hyenas and a lion's roar right outside.
somehow i thought you were near redners....lol small world!
too true
Oh well, never mind, TO. I was trying to distract you. I obviously didn't succeed.
distract me from eating, jacs? thank you
{{{{jacs}}}}}
what has replaced clemens?
Super Fresh -- they are part of the A&P family
yes i saw them at ralphs corner. good store, except the one nearest me.
prices are close to Clemens, but a little cheaper in many cases, but not better than Gi5-- Their store brands are pretty good too
good sales at sf
hey jacs, want to boggle together?
Erm - how to distract TO from eating? Oh, I know! Direct her to the 'poo' video on Babblecast.
eeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
yep -- I am gonna hate it when I have to leave this place -- the freedom of two decent markets within walking distance will be missed
TO - I was boggling earlier but on my own. Came 7th once though!
TO - it's from Srubs and it's v. funny.
the ends of your comments are cut off. woulf you are leaving?
help with the no6, please?
TO's broken the chat! It's gone all wide now!
it's mitch's fault....
no6, wolfie, is to let someone know something in an offical fashion.
woulf i'll let you know ; )
I am going to have to move from this apt pretty soon -- the kids are getting to old to share a room, so this two bedroom apt is getting too small to contain us
No, TO, it was you wot dun it saying 'EW!'
so where have you looked?
well unfortunately, despite nut's waring, i listened yesteday. she was right. i shouldn't have!
nowhere yet -- but the next place we move has to be either a mother/daughter type or else have an apartment for Kirstens mom to live in -- so we will be pretty much limited to whatever we can find
thanks, Jac
The staff at the 'Bum' clinic at QEH would LOVE that video, TO. I've saved it for them. I'll give 'em the link when my next colonoscopy's due... if one of the nurses, who is a friend, doesn't turn up here first.
y/w, Wolfie.
Actually, I already knew 2 of the lady staff in the bum clinic before I went there!
The other one I met again about aa week after a bum scan and we were bopping together at a reggae party at a neighbours' house.
you mean there's a new scatty episode? i just hate bathroom humor.
That's village life for you!
Have you not seen the video from Scrubs, TO? Before Babblecast 15.
there's no way i could have broekn the chat is there? *guilty look*
TO - You did and it WAS you wot did it!
It's nearly better now though.
no it's fmitch's fault.....she is responsible
Is anyone elses chat box being squished ?
Takes about 15 - 25 posts normally to get back to normal.
And how is Fi responsible for YOUR misdoings, TO?
My fault--I don't talk enough, LOL
i saw the best sectional today - crescent shaped off white with aqua, lime and brown accents
diem - Yes. Eureka! The log's back to normal.
yes, mine is missing about three letters . But I am going to bed now, so It wont bother me any more. Gute Nacht.
Good night, inge!
Mine is still missing letters, too
'Nite, inge.

And it still isn't mended!
6 spaces still missing.
'Night, wolfie.
Let
us
see if we can get it down to 5, jac, 8-)
pray?
roflmao
Okay, Pam.
Our Father, who art
It's back, i think...
in Heaven
hallowed be
I just read your note as "Our FEATHER"
thy name.
I daresay, I am not cut out for prayer....
Thy kingdom come
Thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done
They will be done
Thy will be done
on earth as it is
in Heaven,
Give us this day
(come ON, pam!)
Sometimes I have to remind myself that I only know these words because this culture is so christ-centered
our daily bread
our daily bread
that's it! and forgive us
our trespasses
thy kingdom come, thy
will be done
on earth as it is
i dont think thats it is in it
iin heaven.
Nope.
Our Father, which art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, in earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; But deliver us from evil. [For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever.] Amen.
That's the short version. Is the log fixed yet?
Or, as I once read somewhere, according to some children in NYC, "Lead us not to Penn Station" Which is a major subway station in NYC!
LOL!
Thanks for posting that JAc! Log fixed... And still, how is it that I know the our Father, LOLOLOL
mine is
I love the way kids mishear things and then try to make sense of them from the things they know.
EXACTLY, Jac!!!!
However, the Lord's prayer worked, did it not?;)
Hi all
ROFL
yes but i still got 60 left
Next time, We'll try Prufrock, or Milton....LOLOLOL
and back to find my last 13
Ask for clues and they will be given if you don't all shout at once.
Hi all
tks jac but i like the struggle
are there really three w's? I have two--don't give a w*** and an alternate spelling for a hue that is the opposite of balck
diem - a soul after my own heart! Struggle on!
Lady Jac, who dwells in Worcestershire, blessed are thy clues,
Fab, woulf!
pam there are 4 w words. One is we6, 3 are wh.
*peeks in* uh....
*peeks in* uh....
Wolfie - LOL!
I love it.
Grant us this day your inspirational clues, And shield us from trolls when they appear, That we might finish this grid And repeat the cycle tomorrow :-D
Oh, ok, I have the wh's....
p.s. the we is eluding me
Hi all
pam - the we is clued in my bio. However, if you don't get it, try we + have a natter first 2 letters of ch** + consonant that sounds like British breakfast drink.
Sorry that was meant to be a ch word that rhymes with head gear.
got the we -- thanks again
thanks, Jac!!! your bio clues are great!
Kind of given word away now. But it's late in the grid, I guess.
y/w, pam.
and Wolfie.
Hi all
Wolfie - are you planning on getting some fliskr pics for this bio?
hi all
flickr, not fliskr!
Hello nat and Lost.
hopeeveryone is having a good evening/day
Thank you, yes, Lost. And you?
I still haven't decided yet, Jac -- I probably will, but not for a little while yet -- I usually don't have the mental focus to do much more than play these days
start of a long weekend. nothing planned-except R & R
I can understand that, Wolfie, having been there.
Best thing to do, Lost.
best kind of weekend, Lost -- doing similar here, but combined with spending time with my mom (hootowl) while she is visiting
hey Jac are you up late or early?
Oh, is that where Hoot's disappeared to? LOL.
hi nat and lost
Up latee, diem, on this occasion.
yep -- and she is griping a little about missing the grid, but she also wanted to see me so it is a cross she is willing to bear
Or ven up late. LOL
The wine is weaving its way into my veins and, hopefully, rendering me senseless to both night sweats and Other Half's nocturnal attempts at the 1812 Overture.
Oh, I do hope that it works, Jac.
So do I, pam!
earplugs seem to help me ignore the city's sounds, and the dog's nocturnal wanderings....
sorry, i'm stuck on 3 again. it seems to be my magic number
Last night was a 12-hour nightmare.. and I was in bed by 11pm!
earplugs either giive me ear infections are make me deaf for the following 2 days so I try to avoid using them.
in7/36 anyone?
Jac -- I feel your pain... at least the snoring aspect -- I once had to share a hotel room with a friend of mine who had sleep apnea -- even though we were on opposite sides of the room he almost shook me out of my bed!
12 hours of hell stinks!!!!
I use the foam kind that are not so good that all is blocked, Jac... I have used the silicon and others that do tend to also give me infections.
Fireworks!!!!!
in7/36- craziness minus the snake letter Lostnfound
congrats GW!
wtg greywoulf
woo hoo, woulf!
Wolfie - I tried both kids' rooms, since both are away in Africa at present and downstairs with doors closed. I could still hear him. In the end I got thaty mad and desperate that I resorted to violence and almost rolled him out of bed! Silence reigned for a while, until the next night sweat hit me. I got more sleep after 5am, when he went off to work, as I told him later, but still got woken on the hour every bl**dy hour by the night sweats. My Mum's been round today with her 'cure'. I've taken it and do have to say, though I've not ventured up to bed yet, I've not had a hot flush(flash) either since! Fingers crossed that Mum's cracked it!
Congratulations GreyWoulf on fireworks! Good for U!
yay gw! and good night, all! jacs, i hope sleep soon finds you.
Bye 72 Temple Owl! I will see you tomorrow in the log!
And what is mum's cure, Jac???? Do tell!!!
g'nite Temple -- sleep well, and dream deep

Hello natasa! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
good thank you! and urself
I'm doing well. I finished earlier. Now I'm here to clue.
oh
well done
can you please give me a clue for op6.21
op 6/21 is op plus vowel plus past tense of eat natasa
hello
Hello tragic stud! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
I'm going to go watch the end of GH.I'll be back later.
hi, tragic
i can replace her - i'm here to clue as well
hi bgl :)
is the past tense of eat ate?
yes
got it
thanks tragic
:)
How about my 4th w? I have 2xwh4/9 and wh5/24
we+ the last three letters of a big fanct privately owned boat :)
same with me BGL
i can think of a better one... particularly as i'm not positive that i'm correct about that spelling
Thanks!
IT
It worked (sorry a little "enter" happy)
:)
natasa, did that help?
nope
where are you from natasa?
Adelaide
i have a theory that rich women and poor women are either hugely fat or very thin, and only middle class women are moderately fat.
hurshy - i have some theory to back that up actually
natasa we+ online talking minus the a
because if you're rich, you are either one of those people obsessed with eating right and exercise or you can afford to eat really rich foods
WHere did that random thought come from, hurshy? :)
hurshy me?
and if you're poor you either eat lots of unhealthy but cheap foods, or you're SO poor that you can't eat enough.
only a middle class (ok, maybe lower-middle) woman would be moderately overweight and squeeze into a pair of jeans two sizes too small.
hurshy are you talking bout me?
natasa, why on earth would i be talking about you? i have no idea if you are rich, poor, fat, thin, etc.
there's also a lot of shame about being wealthy in a world that has so little in general -- though it tends to be subconscious... but the shame can make gluttony then shame their allowing it (bulimia) or they can shame all wants and not take anything in (anorexia)
Hursh, have you been imbibing tonight? ;) (If so, I want some!)
lots of eating disorders in the upper classes
k
no BGL, i don't drink. just musing.
hi again
Sounds like too much generalizing going on and that can be dangerous
hi ping
Are there really more eating disorders, or do we hear about them more and/or they have the funds to seek treatment?
yeah - is a good question. the statistics are way skewed
hi stud
hey hurshy
it's only a hypothesis bummer. it would be cool to study and see if there is any correlation or not.
bummer, i study this...
Hi, ping
and i specialize in humourous generalizations.
hi BGL
lol hurshy
from what the stats say though bgl, it seems that ed's have trickled down societally, but that it - cross-culturally began in the wealthy classes
as far back as the 1800s
interesting, stud
i think i get it from my dad. he's the one who taught me about the correlation between traffic problems and old men in hats. you know, the baseball caps with the totally un-curved brims.
occasionally a fishing hat.
hurshy - ariel looks like she's working on generalizations
My hypothesis - is it because the wealthy have the time to really obsess over their looks and other's perceptions while others are just trying to make ends meet?
ariel, though, made the wrong ones. silly girl thought being human was better than being mermaid. she should have listened to sebastian.
its true
bgl - i have some great papers and articles about this if you're ever interested
well, not just bgl :) anyone is welcome to it all
oh, tragicstud, i just noticed, you went pro!
indeed i did
Hello All :D Long time no see.
and got my first fireworks today :)
do fleas reproduce asexually?
I spent 12 years in youth minsitry working for churches and organizations in vastly different socio-economic areas. And in general, the wealthier girls were much more concerned about their looks...
Awesome, tragicstud! (on your fireworks, that is)
oh hershy i'm gonna have a crush on you if you keep being so random and curious...
thanks bgl :)
lol hurshy
http://www.insecta-inspecta.com/fleas/ cat/reproduction.html
well you are welcome to have a crush on me, but i like men.
do i trust a site called "insecta-inspecta"?
young men, as i recall
lol
:) i'm safe... my crushes are generally patonic
platonic that is
are you in grad school, stud?
well, i like men who are around.
Any help with the last 2 cy5/16 words?
and unfortunately, there aren't many right now.
just graduated, and am currently deciding where to apply next
i don't have it, bgl
but, if there are female fleas, and they lay eggs, then it seems to me that they do NOT reproduce asexually.
applying to another grad school? for a job?
**r*** debergerac (or whatever his name was)
another grad school
i got my masters, am going for my phd
and therefore, the frontline commercial claiming that ONE flea can lead to thousands is incorrect. TWO fleas, yes, but ONE, no.
Thanks.
cool
sorry BGL I don't have them either.
i'm trying to figure out a clue for the second
heh - that seems true hurshy - unless she was preggers
the parade scene in ferris bueller is on tvland, if you tune in quick you can catch it
the second is pl color
the third adds 2000 pounds - that's some big camera.
what about the last cy?
bgl - cy + ***wer (to reply to a question)
thanks hurshy
shake it up baby now
thanks for the clues, they were excellent
hurshy, have we talked about the fact that we're in the same time zone?
where were ya last night - i needed tv hep last night
oh, let me see, i was... i was... i think i was here.
lol hurshy
Okay, I had the plural and was assuming it was the 1st 5/16. So, I'm missing the first one.
is it disturbing that i can't remember what i was doing yesterday?
not to me
is it to you?
bgl - add the round vowel to the cy4
nope - youre missing the last
i will make a bad witness if i ever need to be one :(
cy + a *** of bricks
Hi all
oh
hi natasa
heh - bummer's right
BUT i will at least be able to answer "where were you on the night of ....?" because i'm always home.
I have the round end and the plural. I'm so confused and my cats walking on the keyboard while licking my arm!
ok - then it is my last clue bgl
i call my cat cinder "baby" and so i made her dance with me for "shake it up baby now" and she did not like it so much.
she said mrow. repeatedly.
cy + ring ***e on a cell
Yay! Finally. Wow! I was confused. Ok, only 29 to go.
Thanks!
mrow - i like that
have you been writing, hurshy?
when?
lately?
oh, hmm, i don't think so.
but i do have a thing i want to blog about.
maybe i will get to it tomorrow.
you need a person who hangs with you and can report on your whereabouts, hurshy
in case i am accused of a crime?
just so you will be able to know what you've been up to
i love jennifer grey so much
pre-nose job
oh, well, i'm pretty much always up to babble, reading, cuddling with cats... that's why the days all blur together
that's quite the high kick she has
ping your kids are beautiful
thanks, stud
they're a mess but they are mine
:)
have you seen my blog?
not yet, i just saw that you had one
i'm so newly pro - i haven't snooped everyone's profiles yet
i need to make one, i hate writing about me though
here's the url: http://theothermother.typepad.com
how come cats can have their heads upside down and the blood doesn't rush to their heads
welcome to pro btw!
who said it doesn't hurshy?
sloths too
thanks ping :)
well if it did they wouldn't stay in that position
maybe their heads are smaller in proportion to their bodies
that's not true - there's a lot of inverted yoga positions
i've stayed quite comfortably upside-down for a long time
it's good for digestion and anxiety actually
yeah but people do all sorts of stuff. cats are more... if i feel uncomfortable after two seconds, it is an unacceptable state of affairs.
now you have reminded me of one of my favorite brady bunch episodes.
i have?
lol
ping i've favorited you - i've needed a new blog for a long time...
where marcia tries every club in school to be popular - including yoga.

i read a lot of blogs
i used to... i was connected to them all through my ex...

drbokeback.blogspot
i think
nope - she's a dr
i'll see if i can find it

they laugh alike
sorry, i was having a flashback
and what did you think we were doing for the last half hour? :)
there are some delightful words in this grid, common words that you don't see often if you know what i mean
like no6
marshmallows are deeeeelish
or po5/22
i think i'm past the point of no return. 41 minutes to flip and i'm eating marshmallows.
very few words that i had never seen before
do you have chocolate and graham crackers hursh?
no but if i did i would eat them separately.
my dad loves marshmallows so much that when he was a kid he just did not know when to stop eating them and sometimes he would eat so many he would throw up
i hate candy corn
i love candy corn
but that reminds me, two months until my nephew is due!
his name is wesley, but i'll never call him that
i think i'll refer to him as.... farmboy
um, I'm afraid to ask WHICH idea reminded you of your pregnant sibling...the marshmallow, the candy corn, or your dad throwing up...
candy corn. halloween. baby due then.
fireworks!
ah
halloween is only two months? omg, gotta start plannin'
planning for what? you go buy some candy and give it out to the runny-nosed midgets.
dude, where the hel did this summer go?
CONGRATS SNOW
thanksgiving, now THAT takes planning. careful timing of all the food.
we get 800-1000 trick or treaters
:O
do you live in...in.... someplace with a lot of kids?
it's wild. our neighborhood is like a giant parade for 3 hours
i've never lived anywhere - at least, not since i was too old to go out myself - where there were more than, say, ten kids stopping by. more often 0-2.
Hello, all
ch6/24 anyone?
:) hi jell
ch4/6 + not off
i live in Hamilton Montana, nobody's sure why it started but about 20 years ago all the kids who live in outlying areas discovered a couple of haunted houses in our neighborhood....
thanks jellen!
jellen always comes to my rescue :)
the last 5 years, 0 kids, living at a rural boarding school, the students were too old, and the few faculty children had very health-conscious parents, so....
i wouldn't want 800+, but i could deal with, oh, say, 40-50.
It's only about a 6 block area. The other side of town gets the usual 20-30 kids
i didn't know there were 800-1000 kids concentrated in a 6 block area anywhere in montana
i don't think i knew montana had blocks.
or collectively
Probably only 50 or so actually live in that area
their parents DRIVE them there?
we give out glow sticks
for the ecstasy raves?
yup
lol
in7/36?
that came out SO funny, my tummy hurts from laughing
in7 - my conversation, often, is marked by this
lol hursy
in7= craziness (clinically speaking) minus the s
sounds like you have 750-950 overindulgent parents there, harp
ahhh! Jellen! thanks!
5 left
go monkey!
I usually help out with our downtown's Boo-Ha-Ha parade. We get about 1000 kids, too.
Go, MM!
i would help out with a boo-hoo-hoo parade. i'd be the crotchety lady telling 'em they're little brats.
f.i.r.e.w.o.r.k.s.!!!!
thanks for all the help peeps!
Congratulations MonkeyMind!
congrats!!
Ferociously Intimidating Reindeer Eat Wild Overgrown Rodent Killing Snakes?

i am SUCH a good guesser.
acrophobia... yeah, i only fill in the down clues on my crossword puzzles.
ha! very good hurshy.
it's good to have a hypnotizable cat.
there's a parade near my neighborhood, jellen. That's part of th reason we have so many
wow - i might not make it to flip
Anyone want some of my Ben & Jerry's Half-Baked for the flip?
only 16 minutes!
i'm going to brush my teeth now so i can go straight to sleep after i'm tired of flipping
hey tragic...when you auditioned for american idol did you get to meet the judges?
nope
its an awful process
i can't even imagine
must be so belittling
nly if you take it seriously enough to lose faith in yourself
or forget that it's about ratings
auditioning PERIOD is belitting. i tested for saturday night live about 15 years ago...almost killed me
:)
yeah - interestingly this is the first audition i didn't mind
i was super proud of me
