Hey pigeonman,
Hey pigeonman,
right column done
ru7
How is the darkness??
de 7/8 combo
those
i am obviously brain-dead tonight. completely blind to things in the grid :(
pigeonman, are you readint this?
I'm also experiencing that condition, jes.
I always try aran
oh,i hope i'm not contagious!
No, I have a chronic condition. :-)
me too Jilli - don't know why it doesn't accept it...I thought it was a knitting pattern - not a Brand
Should I be concerned about a loudly snoring cat?
is it a new thing for the cat to snore?
This loudly, yes.
positional?
Just sew a cotton reel to the back of its pajamas Jellen
any sneezing/wheezing/exersize intolerance/decreased activity?
thanks for the combo Kiwi!
yvw MM
fasdfasd
pigeonman How are you doing
He has perpetually runny eyes and nose. Some wheezing and just acting older. He's 13.
lynsss, I think it's a knitting pattern named after an island, Aran, also Arran, dammit
woo hoo! found the re7 finally
that's lynxxx
Yea Fran!
yay fran!
dols
i'd guess the snoring is because of congestion then, if he's got a chronic upper respiratory problem.
oops
I hate re words -- they could be anything
It is Jilli, but still it should be accepted as it is well known
any change in how much he eats, drinks, or urinates?
on that note.. I am going to bed... night all
night DR!
nite dr sweet dreams
hey jes....my boy levi is on baytril and prednisone for a staph ear infection. i've never seen any living thing drink as much water as he's been drinking. and peeing!!! OY!
nite DR
lol. night DR
Hi
night dr1965!! LOL
good eve herin happy babbling
pred'll do that to ya :)
It's hard to tell --I have three cats.
hi herin!
hi herin
hi infernal!
nite dr, hi herin
Hi Infernal
hi folks. jellen - cat question for you
i had to take it a while back for an allergic thing... was annoying; running to the bathroom every half hour
hi back
I'm going to take him in anyway--past due for annual shots.
jes, the poor guy keeps looking at my as if to say "why?? why am i so thirsty???" lol
hi franny
or anyone who might be able to help... hi muse
pigeonman Vegas calling????
saint....Jes is a vet
well, if you haven't had blood work done on him recently, it'd be a good idea. he's certainly of the age to have kidney or diabetic issues
Has anyone seen granny max at all?
not tonight infernal.
Thanks, doc!
hi franny!
household - 3 dogs, 4 cats... cat breakdown is 3 girls and 1 boy. boy is almost 1 1/2 yrs old. got him when he was 3 mos. he gets along with everyone, plays a lot with one other cat and my chihuahua.. ok, so...
Recently?
yes, the other day infernal.
and ADHD is still M.I.A., huh?
Ok good i was thinking about her today
pigeonman - Nevada calling...
boy cat, for a while now - has been Peeing on all kinds of thing. what got my Attention was the (pottery barn canvas) couch and chair. took to vet - crystals = on special UR food. UTI - took amoxy for that. STILL peeing. and now everywhere. on Kitchen Table etc! on "kitty xanax" now, but still it goes on... HELP
that's right, haven't seen Do for a while.
Haven't seen ADHD in ages -- I wish she knew how much she's missed
woohoo found the re 6/7 combo
yay kiwi!
how many litter boxes do you have? ever try changing litter type/brand? sometimes they'll associate the box or sand with the discomfort of the infection/crystals.
Oh Franny, I've never had to deal that!
wow. that's interesting jes..
make sure you have multiple boxes, preferably in multiple rooms, and try several different types of litter to see if he likes one kind more
I have nothing bigger than a 5!
hmmm. still missing one of the 7's
if he has a place that he regularly pees now, either block off access to it, or put a litter box there.
hmm Diff kinds of liter in each box. hadn't thought of that
pick up or block access to anything even remotely litter-like (laundry, recycle paper, newspaper, shredded paper, the hermit crab cage/gravel...)
greyed the top O
have 4 boxes - on all 3 levels of house
hi babble buddies
hi dee!!
Hi, Dee
and clean the boxes daily, so he never feels like he has to use a "dirty" box
good eve dee happy babbling
ty kiwi you 2
hi jel fran
pigeonman - Still hot in Vegas
some cats don't like to share boxes (dunno why that'd be a new thing if he's always been fine with sharing before, but it might be)
I am owned
well, i'm thinking i should quarantine him in the bathroom for a while, while i Clean up his mess - need to soak all the furniture cushion etc in Hydrogen Peroxide - heard that works best, and soak couch covers in baking soda - yes?
hi y'all from Utah
I have a kitty on my feet.
b/c if he still Smells the places he's gone - won't he keep going there?
good eve corps happy babbling
Hi, corps
any major changes in the house? new pets, new people? missing pets or people? rearranged the furniture? went on a trip and stressed him out?
hi Kiwi, jellen
i will DEF try the different litter, and clean it daily (i admit, something i slack on)
Hi from you neighbor state Nevada Corps
Hi Corps
hi corpse and Kiwi and anyone else i missed.
bleach or hydrogen peroxide is best for getting rid of the smell, no ammonia cleaners.
hello corps
um, no, not in the time when he Started doing it. we Did just recently lose one of our dogs :( our beloved beagle Lady
hi geek, lynxxx, jilli, herin
hi corps!
hi fran!
hi corps
Did your state survive Burning Man, geek?
might also try getting some of the synthetic pheromone spray to spray your couch and whatnot with, as that can decrease urine marking
hi all, how is tonight's puzzle?
but he's been doing the peeing Long before this. and what's up with him going on the kitchen table??? like, On things that are on there - papers, other stuff.
I used Pura cat litter its great. It clumps vertically so you can easily poop a scope it out.
pheromone spray. ok. we tried one of those things that plug in - did nothing.
good eve orn happy babbling
not too bad here only 90 left
saint....he could be pissed at you (pardon the pun)
clumps Vertically? interesting. at the grocery store herin?
and papers on a table are similar to kitty litter
hard to say, saint. maybe he likes paper? try putting shredded paper or a paper-based litter in one of the boxes maybe
i use Febreze when my cear old cat makes a mistake
dear, that is
Saint its at pet stores.
lol monkey. but thing is, he's the Most affectionate of all of them... climbs in bed next to me and nestles in for a good nuzzle, etc
Hi, Ornith
hmm. the stuff i'm thinking of comes in a spray bottle. called Feliway. you spray it directly on the couch or wall where he's urinating.
http://www.purapet.com/whypura.htm
saint....jealous maybe?
marking you?
pigeonman - Timie to wake up...
is he neutered?
I use World's Best Cat Litter (yes, that's the brand name) - corn based so safe if they eat it off their paws, clumping, flushable, pretty good odor control
are all the other animals neutered?
i need to write some of these brand names down!
does he go outside at all or is he strictly indoors?
yes, all are neutered, as is he
Strictly indoors
heh. just go to the store and buy one of everything ;)
you definitely need something to clean away the smell (they make special products) - DON'T use ammonia-based anything, that smells like cat pee
ornith -- that sounds great
then keep the brand the cats like best :)
LOL no lie jes! i literally think i just might!
I will use the same litter for a week and scoop the clumps out ever day. I use the little tie sanitary bags to put the kitty stuff in it (also stinky proof)
Jes i do that with cat food
no, i know ornith. i recently learned about the hydo. perox. a cat person told me that stuff like nature's miracle isn't so good b/c sometimes the cats Like that scent
ok 75 to go brb best i feed the family
yeah jilli, I'm really happy with that - that and febreeze and I only have to mess with it once a week, no smell even in my studio apartment
herin - sanitary bags? what's that? b/c OY it does smell bad sometimes
later kiwi!
if all else fails, you can rip out all your carpet, put in linoleum or laminate flooring, only have wooden furniture, and make sure you clean everything every day ;)
Um lady's sanitary disposable bags. Kinda like a little nappy bag
Jes did you just get another new pet?
sometimes a cat will pee in weird places because he's upset, or because he's sick, or because the litter box isn't clean enough - anything new like that?
if utmost is a word, why isn't unmost?
pigeonman, any moose in the yard?
phantom: enumerate
homerun should be a word, too
oh, should have said utmo4 and unmo4 -- sorry
Ohhh jess. not a good solution! lol. Herin - where is that sold? am i out of it to not know what you mean?
but it's two, MM
I've never seen them either franny, maybe they don't have em here
yeah. Minnie, the one-eyed-wonder-dog
i know jilli...but for us it should be one :)
Awwww Jess is this another 'reject' that someone left at the clinic?
why not a good solution, saint? it's basically what i've done... i hate trying to clean carpet!
herin - like, is it something sold where you buy "lady products", in that aisle?
homer will just have to do, MM
not exactly. one that wasn't being cared for, in huge part because of money.
Yep its in the lady products isle.
yep jilli
I needed a small tieable non stinky bag and thought 'nappy bags but smaller'
well we don't have carpet, just some rugs, one of which i've already thrown out. about ready to replace the other one too actually. found a cheap one in the kmart ad i actually like. and frankly we May have to get new furniture!
so if all that stuff doesn't change things, i'd suggest getting a referral from your vet to a behaviourist.
or deciding that he'll be an outdoor cat, at least during the day :(
let's call this CatChat and DogBlog
well, you Def. gave me some good ideas Jes. i really appreciate it. the different litter is something i'll do Tomorrow!
heck, just bring him to the vet, he might have something wrong with his digestive system, that can cause that sometimes
pigeonman - Moose alert!!!!!
Oy - i just don't believe in outdoor cats jes. i live in a sub. neighborhood, and there Are outdoor cats around us, but, i could never.
making him an outdoor cat is a bad idea
lol monkey - works for me since i've got so many of both! hope the non-dog and non-cat people haven't minded for a little bit
Jess at least you have a happy home for the dog
stuck at 106. night peeps!
i don't like it either. but if it's a choice between that and destroying all your stuff, you know...
night MM!
nite Monkey
G'night, MM
night mm
night MM
Saint what about an outdoor kitty run?
maybe try confining him to a section of the house away from the other cats, see if he still sprays when he is an "only cat"
yay babble i was going through babble withdrawls :) haha Hi Everyone!
what about winter though herin?
hi carra
Hi, carra
oh you guys have snow right?
its been a week or something phew!
Hi Ornith & Jellen
pigeonman.. Earth to pigeonman
yeah i live in RI
hi carra
as long as he has someplace warm to get to, they can do fine outside most places. or put him out in a run during the day and bring him in at night.
Hi Jill
was so excited.. got into the tents for fashion week in nyc :)
yeah jes - that's why i think putting him alone in the bathroom for a few weeks is a good idea. i mean, he'll see US a few times a day at least
interesting about the run - like something we'd Build, or does like Dr. Fosters sell it?
um
Oh carra - that's neat! did you see Tim Gunn?? :)
Google Cat runs
THere is lots of sites
ok will do
no i didnt =/ i saw carmen electra
you'd probably have to build it, i'm sure you could buy one but it'd be fairly spendy.
one guy from americas next top model Jay and vogue editor anna wintor
glad nobody noticed I accidentally posted a word a while ago
There is one that gives you ideas. I am looking at one for my kitty as she is an idoor kitty
omg i just read a book about anna - she scares me ;)
i've seen a couple home-made runs that opened off of a bedroom window so you could let them in and out through that in good weather, anyway.
pigeonman
lol jilli
http://www.thecatsden.net/
there was alot of people surrounding her body guards ect lol she doesnt seem so nice
also, if you have a fenced yard, there are places that sell adapter things for the top of the fence that are supposed to keep cats from climbing over... 'course, that assumes your fence is good enough that they can't go under or through it.
My kitty is on my foot. ALso Saint google outdoor cat runs.
my friend snuck me in lol! i got a goodie bag too
wow, this is an idea i'd never heard of/thought about, but i like it! they Love sitting in the windows and i feel bad they can't go out like the dogs do...

i'll be back in a bit, have to eat dinner.

yum, made a yummy stew for dinner, had time to let it cook down and thicken naturally from the potatoes. it's the first time my husband liked the stew i made.
that would have been nice tonite - very cold
Good for you, Fran.
but we just had sausages and pasta
love stews
just thought i'd share since i'm just finishing my bowl up here. :-)
G'nite... Work in the morning
G'night, Geek
night geek!
night geek
See you in a few days. I won't be back on till Friday.
Have a safe trip nad g'nite to all
nite geek sweet dreams
I have a great German stew recipe that you cook for 5 hours... use one bottle of Killian Red for thickening, golden mushroom soup, Lipton's onion soup mix, potatoes, carrots, onions, stew meat that has been dredged in flour, salt, pepper, then braised in vegie oil, fresh garlic, parsley cooked slowly on top of stove in cast iron dutch oven
wow, that sounds good. what's killian red? a beer?
I make a great stew in the microwave
dash of cayenne pepper for "heat", water added if beer doesn't keep potatoes "wet" enough
i have a really great one that uses frozen schnitzel, oxo cubes, onions, carrots and a crockpot lol
yes, a beer that makes a gorgeous color of broth/gravy
I don't think we have frozen schnitzel here, sounds good
its just the schnitzel cut of beef = the really thin stuff
didn't know that, thanks! sounds good
well, I have at least one word for each available tile and eyes are slamming shut so night all!
making me feel hungry!!
copied that down dee, i hope i can find the killian red.
what you do is get two kilos of that and freeze it. in the crockpot put onions carrots
night jilli! sleep well
then two oxo cubes in t+3
night jilli!
G'night, jilli. Sweet dreams!
sorry dropped the phone as it rung
If not, try a dark beer
two oxo cubes crushed into 1 1/2 cups water throw that in the crockpot
i wish i had a crock pot!
recipe came from a babysitter we had as a kid
put in the frozen slices of schnitzel and cook on low for i hours
okay dee.
can even be baked in the oven
for 8 hours lol
then thicken as necessary
I have one I never use, Fran!
and its done - the kids love it
i couldnt live wihtout mine - cooked meatloaf in it last nite
we don't even have room on the counter for one!
it would have to take the place of the rice cooker and that's not going to happen.
that i dont have lol
we'll probably get on sooner or later, my husband and I always look at them when we go shopping.
jellen, you're always talking about foraging for your meals, it's no wonder you don't use your crock pot. :-)
I just can't get motivated to cook for one.
jellen, did you see that book i recommended to jilli? it's on my to-read shelf: alone in the kitchen with an eggplant
I saw the title. Should I check it out?
it was on a cooking blog i read, supposed to be short stories about cooking for one with recipes.
it reminded me of the times i used to housesit for people
Putting on my to-read list now.
kiwi do you cook your stew on low?
i found it on half.com, just waiting for payday to get some new reading material.
time for me to go, have fun all, good luck!
bye mva! have a great day
nite mva sweet dreams
yes dee
turn it on low before i go to work and its ready when i get home
Bye, MVA
i have to go too, i clogged the sink with the potato peels, we have to go to WalMart to find something to unclog it!
oh gee fran have fun lol
I'll have to try that. Do you ever use the new cooking bags for crockpots? My brother loves them, says their claim of no clean up is 100% tr4/5
Bye, Fran. Good luck with that! lol
well i didnt know they did them - dont think they have arrived over here yet lol
thanks everyone! i'll report back later! :-)
dee have you done meatloaf in a crockpot?
very new here... he said in Pittsburgh they cost $2.47 US for 4 of them, but they were worth every penny. No, I never have... saw what you said earlier, and was thinking about trying it. Do you use same recipe as oven?
fireworks
wtg
woohooo wtg pigeon ^5 - im about 25 behind you lol
Congrats, pigeonman!
$2.47 is about $5.00NZ not too bad i guess
Pretty good for me. Started a half hour late. 210 words in 1 hour 1 minute. (Pats self on back)
impressive! He hates clean up and has zero time, so said it was worth it for him (also cooking for one)
Anyone need a clue before I go?
1 meatloaf recipe - 2 eggs (i usually use 3) 2 slices bread ripped into small chunks 2 pounds hamburger (mince for us lol) 1 small onion chopped milk as needed salt and pepper to taste kethup on top
ketchup lol
beat eggs add bredcubes. Add enough milk to moisten all. Season. Add hamburger and onion, squish all together with hands.
Is it ketchup or catsup? I've seen it both ways. Are they both correct?
the ar 6 24 pigeon
place in crockpot, flatten and pour ketchup on top - enough to cover completely. Cook on slow for 8-10 hours.
either way is fine
sometimes we even use barbeque sauce for the kids
sounds similar to mine... just use tomato paste in lieu of ketchup and a little worchestershire; I'll try the crockpot; sounds like a great idea. You don't add any water for crockpot?
Same first three letters as the word before it. Then letters that usually have to do with peeing.
Lousy clue, but the best I could come up with.
nope no water
Gotta run. See you all Friday. Luck to all.
neat ty vm great idea; your meals always sound yummy!
Bye, pigeon
got it thx pigeon
awww shucks
you have motivated me to cook several times here lol my hubby loves you!
double shucks and blushes lol
yw :~)
remind me to hunt out my recipe for extra fluffy corn fritters another nite lol
YUM
when our daughter left for college & I was diagnosed with RA, I lost interest in cooking, so now I am trying to get motivated again
Corn fritters, I could get into those!
well i do have a website www.cookingforfun.info but i havent had a chance to do much on it for a long time
and i also run a receipe swap group cookingforfun@yahoogroups.com
this can get upto about 300 recipes a week on a good week most weeks between 50-100
wow I'll have to check them out next week!
anytime dee
do you have kids at home kiwi?
i have two boys Kieran who is 15 in Dec and Logan who was 11 last july

Hi Hydra

it seemed like it for a bit there :)
5 silent minutes are long silent minutes in here
I'd been zapping in the words and not reading the chat and suddenly I saw your plea for company!
but it's like staying up to read... atleast i had the grid to keep me company
is does get quiet at this time - till the UK contingent arrives
:)
it's noon there, isn't it?
OMG, am I the only Brit on the grid? Seems like it.It's 9am here.
It's 6.00 pm in Aust
interesting... it's only a 5 hour difference
wow- and i didn't realize it was a 14 hour difference between here and aus, though... it's big place, there's a few time zones, no?
Why are you still up at 3am stud?
dogs needed to pee
4am
How many do you have?
Yes, we are the size of the US. Soon we go into daylight saving wich will confuse it a tad more
and then i wanted to tell my alaskan friend about a date i went on
1 dog, 1 pup
i should change my pic to them
Ooh! Was it a good date?
Sorry. I'm being nosy!
don't apologize, i brought it up!
i think it went well...
it's kind of hard to say because she was the most comfortable person i've ever been around - which means that she either returns the feelings or is actually just the nicest and most amazing humans
ever
Hope so. Then you can change your name to happystud!
heh- nah... i'll always be tragic
too big a heart
Ah! Sweet!
is this grid hard? I'm not quite halfway and not seeing words anymore
i've slowed down at 18 words
lol
Must go and start work. Will pop back later. Yes, it's hard lynxxx
bye hydra
have a good day
Sounds like a good date Tragic - either that or you have a great new friend
yeah- i've definitely gotten one or the other... and had an entire evening where i didn't compare the experience to what it was like to be with my ex
which is even better than having a great new friend
i've been working hard for that experience to happen
that definately sounds like progress!
and, friend or otherwise, this woman was beautiful
and it's never a bad thing to have spent a few hours with a beautiful and brilliant woman
that is a terrific combination - hope it progresses well for you
thanks :)

the letters are making my brain hurt
You do that sleep thing. The grid is hurting my brain too. My house mates keep poking the sleeping kitty

I know that the uvula is that little hangy ball thingy at the back of 'yer throat!
I hurt mine when I was a kid. remember it hurt and bled like the dickens
#3 was tongue tied. We had it snipped when he was 3 months old, before it became a problem.
Some people can curl their tongue some cant

hints for the O in the top row?
Ok um im not a member of a library this may be hard

Fireworks
Yay congrats flosey
any clues needed before I head back to bed?
yay for flosey!!!***!!!
<POMPOM TOSS> for flosey
just joined...though i dunno how often ill remember to check back there...heh
ata, you don't have to read books with us, just use it to find new books! and we can see what books you've read and get ideas from you. the "club" idea actually came a while after we started the group.
lol, i just helped daniel get some play doh out of the container, and he tells me "good job!"
ok, off to get a couple more hours sleep - see you again at flip
hehehe
sweet dreams, flosey
i now have 8 books on my to-read list just from seeing what others are reading
I wish I only had 8 books on my to-read list!
check the site out ata, it's cool
I just found my local library but cant access the dang net
the best thing is just to get everyone as your friend, then you can see what books they review or are reading. you don't have to add your own books if you don't want to.
"unate"--threw up
lol good cos I'm not sure most people would be interested in things like "Geometric Design in Celtic and Anglo-Saxon Art" and translations of the "Ancrene Wisse". I do read weird books!
definitely an interesting site -- thanks!
actually that sounds cool ata! the design one at least
the book we decided to read is "the meaning of everything: a history of the oxford english dictionary"
its not, believe me. LOL. its all about different size rectangles and how they relate to pictish knotwork panels. Its making me fall asleep and I need to read it!
i love reading the ratings and reviews of books
I hope Tolkien is mentioned in that book!
ohh, so not a big pretty picture book?
nope *sigh*
morning all
yah i found the book at the local library better yet i found the library
yay herin!
hi Merk!
breakfast time for me -- back in a bit!
The library is hiding behind the local shops (sigh) ill find it tomorrow) HI Merk
How's the grid? It doesn't look like 210 words can come out of it ... at first glance.
Bye EvaN, think I had better poddle off too.
just about done adding books....
I have nearly got to my point of list
How many have you found so far Herin?
will check out your list later carlee! gotta go for now
i have 52 left to find
I'd like to use the double n or double r tiles, but have not figured out how to yet.
i have given up figuring out anything
Oh, I found one.
I have been out in the sun and am ta 6 than you Herin
i am ghost girl i dont do that
I found some 4 letter ones, but I was hoping for multi-syllable ones.
Actually ... me either. Any color I get is from morning walks and the sun isn't shining often when I go out early. Days are shortening here.
I ghost out in pictures
i got a bit more color than planned this past weekend -- went to see my friends band play at the beach, walked along the boardwalk, and rode home (3 hours) with the top off the jeep -- im covered in freckles now!
Color is color, even if it's freckles.
shudder i slab on the sunscreen
yeah, but the color in-between the freckles is nice + pink...heh
i normally douse myself with sunscreen, but i left it at home since i was planning on spending any time outside... *oopsie*
any hints for the E beneath the U?
not that i can tell sorry
ahh, just managed to noodle 2 of them...interesting...
Ah, Evan, you said a word awhile back, but sadly, it's one I already have.
everything is a blur at the moment

last re 6/21 pls
11:00 am here
i have 2 words to finish
These words sometimes make no sense. If you are bare, as in nu**, how can you be more bare?
Go, Anne, go!
I still have 63 left
Alas. Some words make no sense. "Bodum" is a word, but it's not be accepted here. It's a coffee thingy.
OK I chose sedate blue icon, for today. yes the nerf ball is exactly that
Is it a brand name that they don't recognize it here? They recognize a lot more odd things than nerf and smurf.
Just to keep us guessing, Merk
hey all again
go anne..go anne
"bede" is a word, too. As in The Venerable Bede
Nerf is a brand name. Bodum is not, so go figure. Just like some foreign words are allowed, but others aren't.

don't we always have some farout words in these grids. nothing new
bo 5 is a diff. way of spelling to come into the world,
I wonder if the grid would take 'farout'
or try bo + what you put gramsp ashes into
"farout" was not found in the dictionary
probably two owrds
I think I am going to need a clue for the re 5,14. I've wasted quite a bit of time searching for it.

True; but the weather changed here on Sept. 4th and it feels like Autumn now
yes, it is cool here the last couple nights, and the big-leaf maples are beginning to get a bit of a yellow glow...
that never worked for me for the autumnal equinox, only the vernal... don't know why
Hi Sandi. Good Luck! I have 130 left to find myself

Norma: be + first 2 letters of what we clean away regularly from our furniture, but what keeps coming back.
inlaws?
good morning everyone...just enjoying my first coffee and can help if anyone wants
lol TOwl!
frogface, are you there?
LOL TO!! Hi lynxxx
lol, they never bother me. Being kicked out of families has its silver linings.
hi lynxxx!
Sprite that was a great clue thanx :o)
yw Norma :)
Some of us kicked ourselves out, sprite :)
And we're not the least bit sorry! :D
ok lynxxx, I need 86 more, start helping :-)
I have to admit I did not fight back very hard, grin
has anyone got that be5/16 plz?
Sometimes the healthiest gift a person can give themselves is distance from family members who are 'sick', so to speak.
I couldn't agree more, ch.
be 5.16 = rhymes with a bug but uses the second 3rd consonant
be 6 is plural
Sandie: be + first 3 letters of erase on a computer.
What an odd word. Wonder what it means? (goes to look)
Ty so much for that.
ar 6.24?
NO WAY! A person who is a caretaker of a building. Wow. Would never have guessed that.
in dutch it would be a little thingy to hang from an armband.
really, sprite? That's interesting. That definition actually makes a bit more sense with the construction of the word. Thanks.
ar6.24 what you hand is on + to be certain or to be ***e
oops!!!! ar6.24 what your hand is on + to be certain or to be s***. Sorry
ah, I wondered indeed, lol, it did not take here.
thanks lynxxx!
thanks for correcting that clue, lynxxx. It didn't work the other way!
ch1212: check this out for an image of the be5. But beware others: the word is on that page. http://tinyurl.com/3c6tcx
thanks, sprite -- brb
How pretty that looks. I don't normally wear those, but I could make an exception :)
ch1212, Ata says the english word is charm bracelet :)
if you scroll down to the bottom one, it tells about a very nice custom!
Indeed it is. The example in that photo uses the 12 astrological symbols - very pretty. (goes back to look up the custom)
is it related to chatelaine?
I love this community, lol. Where el4 can you find other people who love to look up something just to know :)
LOL Sprite! You are so sweet to think I have the capability to translate that!
ty fro the ar6. finally got it
But I do agree with you -- my friends are used to me delving into reference books, but they don't understand like you do {{{ hugs }}}
bo 5/16 please
sprite, I can't find a translator that will do that either. What does it say? (Or point me in the right direction!)
ow LOL... how stupid of me. Let me translate.
the second one sorry
like the bug, melaia, except with a b
like what bug?
The bug that school children often bring home in their hair...
bo5.16 Movie - The Bo**** Identity - that the 6, llose he last vowel
thank you
gee thanks, lynxxx - I didn't have that one
sorry, my early morning typing is woeful
I had the bug one lol
de 7/36 please
de7.36 to take those bugs out of your hair
lol thank you
de-lice isn't in this puzzle ;-)
clue for be 4/8 please
Sprite, I translated the text -- what a delightful custom, though I wonder if some of the charms are not acidentally swallowed in the cake?
ch1212, the translation (roughly) : Victorian brides give their bridesmaids and friends charms during the ceremony. (American custom). The silver charms, tied on a satin ribbon, were hidden in little cakes or petit fours. Each charm symbolises a hidden blessing. A heart for love, a telephone for good news, a rocking chair for a long life, a church for a happy marriage, a wishing well for wishes to come true, an anchor for future travels and a pineapple for friendship and hospitality.
lice is the plural of lo5.12 though
lol, yes I think they might have been, ch :D
be4.8 is what you sleep in and last vowel
a pineapple for friendship and hospitality? interesting!
Thank-you Sprite -- your translation was much better than my poor effort, though I did understand the gist.
Aloha Babblers!
I thought the same thing, Ata!
hey Fran!
goodmorning Fran
Aloha Franmag!
do 6/24 please

re 6/21 please
there is something about that 50 mark (my friend's husband had a bad stroke at that age & but luckily he is better than ever now, much more like his old 20 year old self, when i first met him, more carefree, less stressed
and as counselor, it's my role to help everyone with their feelings... some of the kids, but mostly the staff... on and off all day, talking about it.
glad he recovered, hk
oh dorens, i don't envy you at all, how tough, i kind of think it would be nice if that could be handled the same way that a dog's death is handled with kids - you know, how the dog was just sent off to "the farm" & is living a better life - i suspect it's easier to handle the concept of 'the farm' than the concept of 'heaven' for kids
found the re 6/21 its RE+fire a gun
oh well - 16 left and I'm giving up. I was only supposed to be on here for a short while and it's 11.24pm already an still got lots to do before bed. Happy babbling you lot.

Hiya Alison - welcome to babble.
re7 is plural of re6/30, which is to prepare to put a shirt on a shelf again
thanks sandiangel
Hi, alison. Welcome!
so, i'm new....and I have a few questions:
u + ra4/4 and plural
go for it alison - we don't mind questions
i gotta get something to eat - bbl
Sandie - un =+ take away weapons , and plural
the tiles at the bottom - why different letters with different numbers - (i know that you have words starting with m etc...but why 2 m's or 3 e's etc
using the h in the top left corner, for example, you can look at the ties at the bottom and see how many words there are that start with that tile.
They are in the same order as the tiles in the grid. Each box tells how many words start from that tile.
FIREWORKS!!!!!!!! Ty all for helping me finish. My poor husband is snoring next to me. I don't think I'm the most popular wife just at the moment. LOL.
when you get all the words that respond to that tile, the number at the bottom gets greyed out.
Congrats, Sandie!!
yay sandie

ooooooh sorry
okay thanks...and do people ever finish the whole thing?
You know I promised myself that I'd only do an hour at this. Wish it wasn't so da4/6 addictive. LOL.

aHAH!
*Dons sunglasses* Heck, that was a hell of a flash.
save the blushing for something more worthwhile... like i might blush after i see the clue for ne6/24?
ever have one of those days you should have stayed in bed? well today is THE day LOL
i have them often ak
Dorens - Have you got ne4/6? For ne5/14 add a vowel to end. For ne6/24 make the 5 a plural. For the following ne5 make the ne4 a plural.
add a plural to the ne 5/14
morning everyone
Hi, mrp!
ak - Not had a good day? (HUGS)
Hi, MrP.
thanks jac, i had the four and it's plural... got it allnow and not blushing
no jac today has been trying at best
Hi Mr. P
Oh dear, ak. Sorry to hear that.
sorry to hear that ak... but you're here now so it's all over
the frosting on my cake was as i was sitting at an intersection waiting for the light to change i was rear-ended
How are you today MrP?
Oh no!
((AK))
oh no, rear ended... anything other than the cake damaged?
Dorens - I think she mend the cake as a metaphor.
Meant, not mend! (Unless there really was a cake!)
my car would not shift properly afterwards. the man at the garage told me that sometimes that type of crash screws with the cars computer. they will run a test or 2 on it tomorrow and let me know the cost of repairs. it needs obvious body work
good thanks! I have had a lovely few days with the inlaws here... my MIL cooked my favourite dinner last night, and she did it the way I like it too!! yay I have been able to do lots of nice cooking for the kids with her help of course
What IS your favourite dinner, MrP?
Now i am laughing .... Hi- jac, frosting on the cake.... do we all speak English?? this is too funny, great therapy
ah, now who feels stupid, ak? (not reading your post correctly... MY face is definniely red)
i honestly thought the frosting on a cake you were transporting was messed up, and that was all, and why were you complaining about that/?? slap me!
I thought you were extending the metaphor, Dorens. :-)
chicken schnitzel... made with homemade breadcrumbs... I love wholegrain bread crumbs :)
glad to hear your happy day, mrP
no, i was just being dumb, jellen
Broken cakes and faces made from beetroot/// what next? Earlier today we had feather considering self-electrocution and strangling... *sigh* ;-)

hi mymu :)
but i am sorry for you ak... just glad that you are here and not in hospital
Jellen - the cake frosting's a bit mashed but it'll still taste good once you remove the flakes of car paint.:D
hi Jac and Fran and ak!
and mrp!
lol
lol, jac......this is too silly
MrP - That's a meal I've never tried. I must make it sometime. You'll have to put the recipe in BabAnon.
Too silly? How can Babblechat get too silly?
I usually scrape the frosting off store-bought cakes. Homemade frosting is another matter entirely.
you have a point there
renn
oh jac! never tried it? wow, it is my all time fav! I will post it
ahhhh--back into penalty box for me... is there icing left?
still waiting for the plumber here. they said they would be here between 12 and 1, it's now 1:22.
Thanks, MrP.
fran, did they say am or pm?
mrp, sounds like japanese style katsu (japanese way of saying cutlet)
Yes, I didn't want to ruin my dinner, whatever that's going to be.
good question mrp, this company does work 24 hours!
Oh, MrP - I meant to tell you that I haven't listened to Babblebooks yet, not the last 2 anyway, or Babblecast 17. Although I can hear them perfectly on the laptop through itunes I get a disparity of sound levels on this silly new pc.
i love chicken katsu
dumb internet kicked me off again

The vet, hursh? Why?
Is everyone well, hursh?
de 7 get rid of the lice
he said it doesn't look like ringworm (which i already thought myself) and found nothing with the blacklight (as i expected). i said, but doesn't a blacklight only detect 50% of ringworm?
I did, aknitter? Haven
e even looked at the grid yet, LOL
Gu, add a consonant to the mu4/6
so he did ye olde fungal culture too.
well you are very efficient pam
LOL I found it pam -- glad you said it first instead of me!
thanks knitter!
Gu - mu5/16 means 'walled up'. mu + a colour.
which one? What does it start with? LOL
it would be the name of the player with the bermuda flag
thanks Fran......... now only 3 re's left

Good one, Fran

LOLOLOL
Fran - Great clue... and very true!
not a combo flask
they are not a combo Flask
well i mean he probably was just not going to do it because it's so unlikely and most people would rather save the money - but i'd rather be thorough.
jac you do NOT iron sheets, do you??
do 5 after the "sourpuss" expression?
Oops! Penalty box for me.
he4/7, he + to ** or not to **
he5/12 is a natural hair dye
he5/12 are a dye- can be a tattoo or a hair colorant
ak - No, I blo*dy don't! Got enough ironing to do without ironing sheets.
stid, add a vowel
i was beginning to wonder about you jac
thanks Fran and I agree with the clue....... now only one left......... re6/21
jac, which is a worse thing to say in england - "bugger" or "bollocks"?

du 6 please?
du is a spanish nursemaid or nanny
it came up at work today
stid, it's a spanish nanny
people were wondering
go lideola go!
du6 = Spanish nursemaid.
i had to look this up since i studied japanese and not spanish.
BUT you can take away the h from the he5/12 and add it to the du
first ra anyone?
fireworks here..........GREAT CLUES and thanks for the help........

hursh - strange conversations you have at work! :D At my office we noticed that by 2pm on Fridays we always seemed to be talking about sex. LOL
it's really twisty all up in that corner knitter
not that I can remember diddly-squat when I actually need it...
ty jellen i always miss that word
diddly squat is a spanish word? how interesting
Well done, Gu.
cinder meowed very loudly all the way to the vet and made nary a sound all the way back.
LOL, ak.
how many words today?
hursh - that might have been due to where the thermometer was inserted! Quite a shock for a cat on a first vet visit.
210
210
210
ty, ty, ty
i'd meow too
poor little kitty... sounds like a traumatic trip. Do you have medicine for her now or still waiting on the test results?
su 6 please
past tense of su 4 above
E, F and H are done! :-D
no thermometer, jac. i did get medicine, stid, since he could tell i was one of those paranoid pet parents by that time.
Go, Stid racer!
Does poor elemce realise he/she has to add the replies up for the number of words? That's 630 words, elemce.
ONLY KIDDING!
I am glad you are assertive hurshy... too many people just assume "the doctor knows" all the time... with humans as well as animals.
i think you have to find a good balance. you want to be educated and assertive, but also respect expertise.
OK, I know this is not goodreads, but a) I can't go to that site until my life calms down, LOL and B) i just want to know if anyone has read Robert Goddard--mysteries, a British bloke.
greenbayladi did you get su6/33?
I agree, hursh!
LE word please?
hello!
le + *** and Jerry Ice cream
le + Big ***, London clock tower
in this case, i know plenty of people who WOULD rather save the money, so his instinct would have been right for them.
le + franklin
I need 2 clues to finish...ar5/12 and be4/8......carers have arrived!
pam - Heard of him but not read him yet. Don't talk about Goodreads... you'll remind me I haven't written any proper reviews yet. I've made a start though.
Hi, feather
hi again feather!
thanks lideola et al!

hi feather!
be 4/8 be + pay your **es to the union
feather was smelly? i find that hard to imagine
Hi, feather!
be + there are no **mb questions, Flask
be4/8 = be + the first 2 letters of the class fool with the coned hat on his head.
i wanted to shower eearlier today, and was having nap issues with the boys
stid, past tense of the lo4/5, rhymes with sweet and so**
no need to imagine hursh we had smell- a - babble earlier
feather has a newborn. She is ALWAYS smelly!
thanks fran
lo6...... past tense of the lo4 above
lo6 is the past tense of the 4/5 above
speaking of goodreads, if anyone wants to do the book club thing, we're doing that on there too. i just got my copy of the meaning of everything tonight and have started! i'm so excited. i 've always wanted to do a book club.
hursh - feather was covered with baby sick and she ran through the log to share it with us all, saying, 'If I'm miserable, you lot should be, too!' or words to that effect.
yes but feather is one of those perfect angelic looking mothers who have hardly any troubles, i can sense it
i'm just feeling the love coming from the west stid!
no jac, i think you got the words exactly!
bwa ha ha ha hursh!
I ordered my copy today, feather
got it right jac, just with a bit of an accent
Bookclub? Oh, dear...
most of the time?
I am going to check out the library and see if they have it
thanks for the clues...thats fireworks for me....Goodnight to you all!!
ak, at least i wasn't a scratch and sniff
feather - well, I see you didn't self-electrocute. I hope you didn't strangle your eldest either??
Congrats, Flask!!
It's a great book--I LOVED it when I read it!
actually, just remembering, feather... no matter how hard I tried when I had newborns, there was something out of place or "extra" on me -- a burp rag, "something" wet/gooey, or just my lactation working overtime. I hated it.
homerun isn't a word???
yay flask!!
rarely perfect hursh. i'm a firm believer in not spanking, but i've had huge urges to do so frequently!
although, I suspect others didn't notice it as much as I did.
nope nutty
dogs think everything is a scratch and sniff
nope, all's clear!
apparently not- was shocked when it flashed red
frigga frackka frickkin fru
overtime lactation, yeah, that's me. welcome to the world of leak pads 24/7 for the next year roughly.
last re word please
i like this song on this bread commercial
Feather - I won't be joining in the book club thing where we all read a given book. I have hundreds (really!) of books stacked up to read and what I read and how long I take to read it depends on my mood/life etc. I will take an interest in the club but not join in so far as joint reading is concerned. xx
goodevening all
which one hursh?
"i don't love you much, do i?"
how's the grid? should I start?
i knew it was that one, cute song
that's fine jac! as long as you're still a member so i can peek at what you've read!
hursh - re5/12 - to utilise again.
its a bit nasty today
i also like the target one... a little bit more, a little bit more...
ty jac that re was for me
I am with you on the book club thing, Jac. I do love Simon Winchester, though
I like the Target a lot, hursh!
rh5 & 6 pls?
i just dont' want anyone to not join our group at goodreads just because they don't want to do a book club thing. i'm all about the looking at the friend's lists!
ok i am breaking down and asking for a clue for the en5/12
I can't believe that last MU5... *gag*
i just like target, specially when owl is getting chased down by lil ole ladies.
i like that one too hurhs
arthritic, Mary
I need to do a list...
I like the lists, I like the reviews, I am treating goodreads as "jump in when I have time and inclination"... LOL
Feather - leak pads? Yuck! I remember those. Walking around with what looked like 2 teabags down my bra... clearly visible through a tee-shirt. Damned things sticking to your nipples... sore when you peeled them off. AArgh! The joys of motherhood! Woman next-door also had a baby around same time as I had my 2nd... we each used to wake up when the other's baby cried AND we leaked.
77 left and just starting the list here
would you believe the rh clues gave me the NE? LOL
go feather go!
lol, you have a vivid memory jac, because you describe it perfectly! what was *really* fun was the day i realized i had the sticky tape on one of them stuck to a nipple.
stid, they should also give you the FRs.
en5/12?
owie owie owie! *covers bosom with arms and moans*
OUCH all you moms....
I had the FRs ages ago... LOL
lid, start with a word for last a long time and take the D away
i've got a great supply, which is wonderful for pumping, but awful for leaking
i found the gerber brand pads didn't stick and were very absorbent.
oy! what's this about tape on nipples? jeepers!
i like johnson and johnson, haven't tried gerber...will have to look into them.
I had a fungal infection on my breast--a rash, by the way, is a sign of a particularly fast-growing breast cancer--so they took me right in for a scrape--that was pretty bad, too, as I recall...
was wondering when you'd notice the chat nut!
OD 5 please? unless it's a fish...
a....scrape??? *shudders*
the Lansinoh ones were crap too
ga ga ga ga ga ga....*eyes cross*
you know, this chat thing is slowing the word thing down for me...
stid, it's like those ne, rh and fr words
marty tried to eat my nipple once...
OW! hursh!
the lecher hursh
*sticks fingers in ears and sings* NA NA NA NA can't hear any more baby talk....
or maybe he was trying to nurse, i shooed him before i could tell for sure
thanks fran!
Just the dried milk sticks like hell and pulls the skin off! You mean they put sticky around the edges of the pads now?? Aargh!
yeah, i'd have shooed him halfway across the room!
yw stid!
i thought it was pretty funny actually, and if he was trying to nurse, i think it's sweet that he knows i'm his momma :)
poor marty... just trying to bond... LOL
thanks, now i never will have children
no, it's a one inch square of sticky tape, covered with a backing. i never take the backing off, just stick them in there, but the tape worked its way free one time.
NO MORE TALK OF NIPPLES, SKINNED NIPPLES OR BABIES! Word clues only... LOL
it's one thing when a baby bites, but baby teeth aren't nearly as pointy as cat teeth!
LOLOLOL JAC!
*stifling laughter over here*
feather started it!!
Feather - please tell me you DON'T nurse your cat???8-/
*pointing finger*
nooo, that was in reference to hurshy and marty!
actually, it's jac's fault with her vivid recollections...
Phew!
that's true, i just realized it.
this is by far one of the most effed up convos i
the BEST birth control I think is open and honest talk about what being a mother is all about... and the cute baby clothes don't even begin to make up for the getting up twelve times a night because you can't hear the baby breathing in the crib right next to you!
ve ever seen in here
I am done with RE words, down to 33
lol, ok, no more nipple talk! i swear!
what is so cute about baby clothes??!?!?!?!?!!! ah well.
I take the blame entirely. BTW, that sticky tape stuff can be a shocker in other places where pads are worn, too. NUFF SAID.
we cosleep, so the night thing isn't too bad. in fact, he slept 5 hours for the first time last night!
yeah, no kidding jac! been there, done that.
makes me glad how unlikely it is i'll ever make one of those noisly messly little piles of wrinkly skin.
i would just like to point out that between their few really pointy teeth, cats have very very tiny harmless teeth...
how about engorgement? anyone get that?....whew I thought my breasts were going to choke me
grid? what grid? oh yeah, that one!
we coslept with the second from day one, with the first after a couple months. It was safer than me dropping him every night as I sat next to the crib!
... got the bald patch to prove it, too, I'll bet, feather.
I didn't have breasts, I had cataloupes....
daniel spent exactly one night in the crib, after that it was cosleeping all the way
stid - Oh yes. The new baby noisy breathing... and then they suddenly go quiet... Nightmare time.
I am done with R words entirely!
mine were bigger than watermelons... my husband was scared of em
*holding self back from entering engorgement conversation*
*fingers in ears* la la la lalalalalalalalalalalalaLA
hey..how come smurf doesn't count :/
Right there with you, nut!
aww, i didn't notice smurf
lid - when I was engorged I quite understood why cows bellow when they need to be milked!
smurf, nerf, olde
right there with you
hey, mom01, page 10A of the press, first guy in black is my hubby!
ar6/24 please?
and daughter had terrible jaundice- so she slept all the time and wouldn't nurse, and <looking embarrassed>... well, the pump wouldn't quite fit
feather...i only read pressconnects..is the article online?
oh, dunno! will check...brb.
lol :)
me too re: pressconnects. dad brought me the actual physical paper
let me know
This is the truth about motherhood! LOL. Mind you, if you've never had a gret cleavage before, now's the time you'll have one.... would be wonderful if you could squeeze your saddlebag hips and blancmange belly into a slinky low cut dress and not mind the wobbly bits and the leaky teabags in the chest part... v. sexy.
ar+mu4/6
all i can think is that i'm a d now...what the heck WOULD i be....*shudders*
se 5/14 please
i'd look like a su** wrestler me thinks
se5 - medicinal liquid

y/w, ak.
there seems to be a fire truck circling the neighborhood. now what did i do?
ak - I didn't find the 'un' words that easy either. un6/27 was my last one found. Mind you, I did go listless.
ak - was it you that had that lightbulb flash earlier? Maybe someone saw it and reported a fire?
my last word is about to be na 5 ( the first one) that would be as plain as the nose on my face!!!!
could be jac. i do love firemen..... very appealing they are
They are, ak! I work indirectly for the fire brigade.
na5 - first or second?
the first na word -- the nose one
Oh, first... you said
n + to be(s)
reminds me of the time paramedics came to our house because my younger sister was complaining of stomach pain and we were sure she had appendicitis.
right on the front of my face it was
Or rather n + they exist.
all i could think was, "boy, these guys are so handsome." sister's stomach pains turned out to be gas!
No, ak, it's not 'nose'. LOL. Well done. I suppose you're off outside to hang over your mailbox casually dressed in a slit skirt and fishnet stockings now? LOL
Fran - LOL. I hope she didn't expel the gas?
Hey Jacula, we have the same icon, almost. How did you get your yellow balloon to say Scrabbs on it?Cool!
LOL, not in front of the paramedics. :-)
people who were here saturday - weaned back on and am feeling a lot better
Min - the other balloon reads FMitch. I wrote the words on in a paint programme. However, I'm still on this naked, alien, new pc that doesn't have all of my stuff on it. Had I been on the old pc the words would have been much clearer.
hello all
wasn't here saturday, but i'm glad you're feeling better hursh.
hi scrabbler!
hi sc
Hi Scrabbler! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Hursh - don't think I saw the Saturday thing but welcome back. x
Hi, Scrabbs.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR SCRABBLER! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
sorry jac was not ignoring you i was ironing my slit skirt
ty all for the b-day wishes and balloon icons
i seem to have misplaced my fish net stockings jac can i borrow yours+
hope you had a good birthday scrabs!
ak - have you made sure your suspender be4/6 has all its buttons intact? *Hands ak a threepennybit for a makeshift suspender button in case of emergency*
scrabs did you have a carrot cake???
i am typing with one hand because i am holding my elderly hamster, oliver, in my other as he is dying....sorry
*Hands ak fishnet stockings. Don't ladder them!*
se5/14 pls?
Hi Scrabbler!
oh, rest sweetly oliver!
Scrabbs - Oh.... so sorry... been there myself with many pets, including hamsters.
aww, poor oliver.
threepenny bit?
oh poor hammie
ak - the threepenny or thru'penny bit was a wonderful coin.
mary, se5/14 is a snakebite cure or type of cholesterol.
i have had a sad 5 days....lots of sadness...so i am happy to be here in babble land..i told oliver that he can cross the rainbow bridge...
I'm sorry, Scrabbler
my last hamster was quite long lived. i made him a little coffin which i encased in duct tape and wrote on it "here lies theodore woodhouse, esq., aka baby. he was a good hamster."
ak - Here's a pic of one: http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:Nu VmyHFlVJl0wM:http://www1.istockphoto.c om/file_thumbview_approve/1191375/2/is tockphoto_1191375_english_money_1967_t hreepenny_bit.jpg
i have a pet cemetery with 3 rabbits and probably 2 dozen hamsters and gerbils
fancy money you have there
oliver was born jan 21, 2005 and is the longest-living hamster i have ever had
Oh, sorry about the huge url, ak. Did you see it or should I tiny it?
we had gerbils. I liked them a lot cause they made very little waste and we could give them the inside of the toilet paper rolls and it would keep them busy
that is cute and sweet, hursh, and i read about the return to the med---i am glad you know to resume it '
no i was able to view it jac. i just pasted
yes, gerbils chew like crazy----tubes, boxes etc
for some reason we tried mice and that was a disaster. My daughter was little and she started screaming when she saw one eat the other
eww, oh dear
Scrabbs - is Oliver a Russian or a Syrian?
oh yes, we had a mouse 2-3 yrs ago, i forgot. it was my nephew's pet
he is an albino, teddy bear hamster
Our gerbil used to love watching 'The Bill' ,a British cop series, on TV. As soon as the theme music came up he'd be out of the bottom of his tank and up on the top of his house to watch. Even if we weren't watching it we left the TV on for him to watch it.
ty FranMag got the se5. So sorry for Oliver, sad to lose pets.
that is hilarious, jac!!
the first lo 5/12?
ty, mary. he has had a long, nice life.
A syrian silk-coat then, Scrabbs? The syrians tend to live longer than the Russians and are more docile.
daaaaaaaaaaaaaaang it all, so close to "obdurate"
lo 5 is the past tense of the place you'd hang an earring
lo + family room
i guess the teddy bear ones are syrians....our russian ones did not last long ever
ty Jellen
too bad, hursh---what does it mean anyway (me of a simple vocab)
stubborn
ok, ty
Our mice (all 22 of them) cost us more money at the vet's with various skin and nasty lump problems than any other pet we've ever had. Many's the time I had a dying mouse wrapped in cotton wool and bubble wrap down my bra in its dying hours. I even once tried cpr on a mouse (who was almost SEVEN years' old) with a small straw. That was George. He was a super mouse.
most of my hamsters died really fast - i don't mean their lives were short, but they'd be ok and then just be dead. baby died over like two weeks, it was really painful to watch.
wondering the compression to breath ratio of mouse cpr
i once brought a dying hamster to work, in a small box, and cushioned in soft tissues. that was greycliffe---a cute grey fellow. but i have never tried cpr on a pet
good question, ak----300/2 ?
hursh - One of our hamsters died in action on the wheel. He was there in the wheel in the running like hell position. Another took some food from her bowl, put her paws up to eat it and keeled over... gone.
the slow deaths with hamsters is brutal to watch!
yes it is sc - i think i am unlikely to get another because it was so hard.
ak - no idea - I was just really, really careful.
I give up, what's the first two lo 6/24's?
i mean i would think he was gone, and touch him and he'd jump, but his body was already going cold, it was so weird.
The fighters, whether rabbit, g/pigs, mice, hamsters, dogs, cats... slow deaths... awful to watch.
i think i am done with hamsters now---the 4 bunnies keep me busy enough, and i struggle to take care of the house and me too
Hello bichon! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
well must be off, time to shower etc and put on pjs
see you all tomorrow
bichon, lo4.6 with the make more ending and one with a bears living quarters ending.
bye knitter!
is the boob talk done?
Goodbye aknitter! I will see you tomorrow in the log!
oliver is limp but taking these weak breaths
hursh - thee jump reaction stays for a while. |It's normal. Unfortunately, I know it is true that when a chicken gets its head cut off it races around for a while before its body drops.
lo6 the second is to be more lo4/6
lo6 the first is lo4/6 + d** (family room)
lo6/24 adds a single hump letter to lo4/6 word bichon
Scrabbs - just keep him calm and stroke him, and gently talk to him, telling him you love him. You don't need me to tell you that... you're doing it by instinct anyway.
The other lo 6/24 word is opposite of quieter bichon.
thank you all very much. Now I can go forward
i am so glad that you guys understand about things like this. i don't think i know anyone else who would talk like this about hamsters.
Scrabbs - in a while he will begin to gasp and his mouth will open wide... the end will be near then. Just love him.xxx ((Hugs))
Have to leave, although I hate to. (((Scrabbler)))
he has been cupped in my hand for 45 min....i told him that the british rabbitlady bids him a peaceful farewell
Hursh - ((Hugs)) to you, too.
yes, hurshy, i am glad no one is saying, oh it's just a hamster...
bye jellen!
bye, jac---ty!
Goodbye Jellen! I'll see you tomorrow in the chat log!
Scrabbs - I haven't gone.
In the Episcopal church, Scrabbler, we have a liturgy for the loss of an animal--peace to you and your little hamster.
fireworks
oh, it's the other j that is leaving--jellen
yahoooo angel!
whoooo hooooo ANGEL
Congratulations Angelsong on fireworks!Good for you
Scrabbs - this is going to be a hard thing for you to do now... While you're still holding him he's going to keep hanging on. Put him down gently now onto your lap... don't stroke him now... just let him go in his own time. It won't be long. He'll still feel your warmth.
ty miranda---i already was with a patient that died at the cancer hopital 4 hrs ago---i was with her parents....this day is just numbing
yay angel!
OK, I did it, Jac. I have gone through this so many times, but it is so nice to have everyone here now. I have often taken my sick hamsters to the vet's office and spent $35 to have them euthanized, just so I wouldn't have to watch this slow process
But it is the evening and the vet is unavailable
Oh, I'm so sorry. You're doing such important work. I have a fried who says that our animals are our intercessors--so that when we get to the afterlife and are reminded of our shortcomings, our hamster will say, "yes, but she held me while I was dying."
jac -- your comment about not stroking reminds me of when my favorite cat died of leukemia. I was so tired and laying on the floor next to him weeping and stroking him. When I fell asleep for 10 min is when he died.
Scrabbs - do you know what they do to small animals to euthanase them? This way is far kinder and far less agonising for them.
TY, Miranda. Then I will meet many of my old buddies someday.
Hello fruittart! How are you? Welcome to the puzzle!
me, too. YW, Scrabbler
They place them in a chamber with isoflorane (an anesthetic gas)
Hello mirandapan! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
oops, kids just came home so I gotta go again . . hugs to scrabbler!
Hi, Min--fine and lurking--thanks for asking. Hope you're well.
fruit - Yes. Hello. Pets are just as 'guilty' or hanging on because we need them as we are in our dying moments. A moment of saying I love you and now I'm letting you go is sometimes needed.
Goodbye fruittart! I will see you tomorrow in the log!
Mind you... some pets hang around after death, most welcomely anyway.
I have "visitors" too, Jacula-animal and human
Scrabbs - sometimes they do that. Other times they inject the overdose of anaesthetic straight into the heart. It is quite fast but extremely and violently painful for an end of lif.
Yes, I have seen that done too, Jac
Scrabbs - good to hear you still have loved ones around you. My Kira nearly tripped me up the other day, as was her wont in life!
Sometimes I am startled out of sleep with my visitors!
Thing is... all my other pets I just either feel or 'see out of the corner of my eye'. Kira's almost solid when I see her! Never when I'm thinking or talking about her either... sometimes, she's just on a chair, jumping off a chair, in the way (like cats are)...
back again
Scrabbs - my Dad did that to me just after he died. He bit my toe!
and gone. phone.
Very cool Jac! How nice to be comforted by her presence!
Whoa, Jac!
Scared the sh** out of me! But, then, he always did love a good joke.
Does anyone have a clue for the ar 5/12 word please
Here I am struggling to find words and I forgot there is something called THE LIST! Duh!
Never mind! I just got the ar 5/12 word! Thank you!
and back. hey, who installed the revolving door?
ar5/12 = ar + what you did when you got together with someone. You *** them.
LOL, feather.
Head for the open bit, feather.
scrabbler! two minor ped. questions for you. 1-when do their eyes change color, if they're going to?
OOPS! Who polished that glass?
Hi featherbee! How are ya?Welcome back to the grid!
think i figured it out finally jac! least i hope so
*Hands feather an icepack for the bump on her head.*
2-if i actually feel a bubble in nick's side, will burping move it?
*thwock* belated sound of head hitting glass
Eye color is usually set by 6 months. But I have seen (with my own dark green eyes) some kids with a new color after years!
Ouch!
we have wishes that the blue stays, but not much hope!
Burping will only help if the air is in his stomach. If the air is further down in the intestines then he needs to fart it out.
Speaking of the list, did anyone notice that Lickety's has an error with the el words? It lists el 4/5 & el 4/4 when there are really 2 el 4/4 words. Is that correct?
my eyes are brown, and when i get very upset/emotional, they will turn green.
Hello, I'm back! {{{scrabbler & little oliver}}}
poor guy! no wonder he was squawking
Best way to burp a baby IMHO is not to stick it over your shoulder. Hold the baby on a towel on your lap and gently lift the chin up whilst holding the back straight. This tends to bring the wind up without any pressure on the stomach bringing sickness.
Hi JBsAnno! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
Are they really really blue now? If so, they usually stay blue. But if they look a little blue/brown/grey, then they are changing.
Hey, minver! Thanks. Whoo hoo, halfway there!
So, feather, are your eyes rolling around in your head after your trip thru the spinning door?
Also, this method of burping a baby can bring the wind out the other way if you gently rock baby backwards and forwards. (Also works for grownups sitting on the loo. LOL)
Good for you you JBsAnno! Go Go Go!I have 55 to go.
they look (to me) like they're getting grey now.
ty, jb
oh scrabbler, i just scrolled back in chat. are you losing a bunny? the beginning is off screen
Min - No, because I was 'listless' today.
i saw the new pics, feather---very cute!
feather - it's Oliver, the hamster, who's dying.
Phantom words today are demure, hotel, and runner.
My old hamster, Oliver, is dying slowly. I have him in my lap.
ty scrabs
(((((scrabbler and oliver)))))))
could i have help with the first be combo?
be and the farmer in the ***l
sorry to hear about your hamster scrabbler
would someone please explain why MOSH is NOT an acceptable word? What do they call the pit at an outdoor concert, huh?
(think kindergarten song)
I can see a big liver tumor in him.
ty
here's my mart!
be 5/16 is be plus ***l computer plus the snake letter.
cliffopa--I was just thinking about you yesterday, and wondering where you (and others) have been.
JBS - Enable has disabled the mosh pit. We'll keep on trying it though, eh?
Hi Prince Martin!
i think he just did a #2...
Hello cliffopa! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
Scrabbs - how's Oliver doing now?
And where did he do it, Hurshy?
life has been a bit unkind to me and my family lately.
Oh, NO, cliffopa!! What has happened?
oh, in the cat genie of course. marty has NEVER gone anywhere he shouldn't.
mother in law has bladder cancer, brother gone into rehab, my oldest cat had to go to heaven....etc.
(((Cliffopa))) just read your bio. I'm so sorry, and send you t's and p's and lots of support
Jac, if not the mosh pit, well, there's always the jacuzzi!
(((cliffopa)))--I read your profile update. Keep taking care of cats to stay sane. The Mama and kittens are adorable!!!!!
((((cliff))))
cliff - ((HUGS))
Hi lbdawger! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
jacula--Oliver is doing some twitching and taking shallow breaths.
Named after myself of course, JBS!
ty all. i knew i should have come back here sooner. missed all that support.
Scrabbs - did you say you saw a liver tumour in him?
Yes, I can see it and I felt it earlier. Hamsters are tumor factories, that what my vet said, and it is true.
Cliff---I really did miss you and missed hearing about your cat adventures. Don't leave Babble Land again, pease.
Sign on door: Jacula Jacuzzi is closed for the evening. Too much sadness to cope with for now.
thanks scrabbler, that means a lot.
About another hour and 20 mins to go, I say from experience, Scrabbs. Hamsters and mice are tumour factories, sweetheart. I don't know why they are recommended as pets for children a) since they are up at night and grumpy if woken in the day b) since they are quite fragile and c) since they die young
{{{cliffopa}}}
JBs - that's okay.
I agree, Jacula, and cringe whenever a child tells me they have a hamster.
Sorry, JBs.. but I'm sitting here in support of Scrabbs 'cos I know what's happening and I want to help.
jac... i think it's because you have to get used to death in stages... i mean if you can. and the longer you have to get attached, the harder a death is.
you've got that right hurshy
hursh - you may be right... that's the next stage of the discussion I intended to go to.
To everything there is a time and a season. A time to weep, and a time to laugh
i'm overdue for some laughter. where's evanonut anyway?
With hamsters, I know they don't last too long, but with other pets, they are our children!
Mind you, the death of a parent... how long does that take to get used to? I still think of my Dad every day and sometimes I still weep over him.
cliff, you should listen to babblecast. that will have you howling!
Scrabbs - cats, dogs, horses.... all long lived, all too much an integral part of our lives.... not easily gotten over.
what is babblecast?
what is en6/24?
http://babblecast.podbean.com/ here's the link
Nut was here earlier, cliff.
Yes, we have to dirent cliffopa to babblecast!! http://babblecast.podbean.com/
Oh, Jac, I'm glad you're there, just for me following the chat and seeing the support, it's wonderful and healing even older wounds.
i'm here but 1 handed again, poor nick is very uncomfortable right now. will chime in later. thoughts are with you both cliff and scrabs.
en6/24 - tangle up in a net.
Cliffopa--Nut began doing podcasts about 2 mo ago!!!
ty
Feather - take my advice re winding him.
Hope it works out. xxx
on belly over legs, side to side?
forgot you had said that
There are 2 ways to read "winding" and one way is funny to think about.
Jac, I am still chuckling about the earlier loo comment...
ar6 please?
*echoes Scrabbler* yes, please? ar6
The ar 6/24 word is ar plus an mu 4/6 word Scrabbler
I'll BRB--I have to wash my face and wake up a bit.
Got it--TY. BRB
it may not be getting the farts out, but it is putting him to sleep, which is just as good
TY, Minver - got it!
yw
Hopes Oliver, whilst put down gently, DO THAT SCRABBS, don't take him to bathroom with you... lets go.
Point him the other way, just in case, okay, Feather?
feather - he'll fart in a moment.
I'm out of air freshener!
lol jbs
just open a window JB, he's just a baby so it wont stink too bad
I laid him down gently, Jac, and he is here.
omg what have i walked into?
he's nothing compared to his big brother. whew.
Quick, TO, light a match!
uh oh he's waking up and squirming more
A dying hamster and a gassy, farting newborn.
baby farts and sad hamsters
Well, TO, you'll definitely need a hankie...
uh oh...........
better than the earlier convo, right jac? lol
What happened earlier?
hi people!
customer service rant coming in 5 seconds.
what time was that all at? 4:30ish chat time? huge talk about nipples
Look out, FM, the chat is emotional tonight!
Uh, oh, Fran
plumber finally showed up over 2 hours late!!
LOL, feather!
ok he's squirming too much, gotta pick him up, afraid he'll squirm off my legs! will be watching chat but not typing.
they wouldn't give me an estimate over the phone, they said they had to see the situation, although they advertised that they use flat rates.
Did you tell him where to put the plunger, Fran?
My boss told me that the other night that the Comcast guys showed up at 8pm to fix the phone/cable/internet connection - they were there til midnight to fix it!
anyway, the guy finally shows up to assess the situation. i told him if it cost too much i would have to wait until payday.
Feather - lay him gently face down on a towel across you lap now and (gently) massage his lower back then sit him up again gently (after about 30 seconds of the former) and rock him gently back and forth again.
hi and hugs
he said kitchen sinks are $162.. i said i would have to wait because that was more than we were prepared to spend.
Does that work with a squirmer, Jac?
Oh, dear, JB, although maybe the evening is more convenient instead of missing work.
{{{herin!!!}}}
rocking now anyway jac
he says...did they explain our diagnostic fee to you?
Tell him you don't want a NEW sink, man!
If that doesn't work... gently circle is tummy in a massaging movement anticlockwise for about 6 times.
i said, no, that was not mentioned, all the guy said was you have to come out and look at it.
Feather do you have a gassy kid?
"diagnostic fee", huh?
Scrabbler im sorry about the hammie
so that guy leaves and i guess calls his boss when he gets into his car.
and did you tell him you had a loaded gun?
du6/24 please?
feather - noo such thing as squirming too much! Calm him down and show him who's boss! LOL
his boss, the one i called this morning, calls me back and says he did tell me about the diagnostic fee and that he's going to send me the bill.
TY, Lady, I am OK with it as he has lived far longer than average.
Maybe he's just ticklish, Jac!
re 6/30, please
i said, no, he did not tell me about it and if he did i would have called someone that does free estimates.
TO, in spanish or portugese, it's an elderly woman who chaperones. du+ h****, (a type of dye)
he's calming now
Can i have a rewind button for today
du + last 4 letters of he5
What you do to the couch blanket when you're fixing up the room, bichon
tydawg, scrabs
bichon, re+ fluff and **** your laundry
No, Lady, I do NOT want to relive this day. It has been too tough.
you guys are the best
so now he says he's going to send me the bill along with a transcript of our conversation where he told me about the diagnostic fee.
Do you have a lawyer friend, Fran?
feather - is he farting yet?
Where did cliffopa go???
i said i am not going to accept a trascript, i want to hear a recording.
Scrabbs - how's Oliver doing now?xx
he hung up on me
Now THERE are two questions I never thought I would see in proximity!
nope, not yet
His legs are twitching a bit and he is taking shallow regualr breaths.
Here's the transcript: Do you have a lawyer friend, Fran? Is he farting yet?
Wonder if he'll dare send you a bill Fran
JBS - giggling almost too much to type now... is he farting yet and where did cliffopa go perchance?
LOL JBs
le 5 clue, please?
Maybe a forward button for scrabbler a rewind button for me
And cliffopa left because the farts smelled so bad.
Oh, the lwayer. Can't type now. ROFLOL
daddy's home, handing nick over
hello
le+ the big clock in london
hey trag
hey tragic
Hey TS
we'll see dawg
ty!

hi stud!
my head's starting to hurt now, sihg
Hi, tragic!
or sigh
I need 5 grand now so i can send my mum to england
do7 please?
:)
do you need to burp or fart feather?
But why, Lady?
EEK! Read that as big clock (without the l) in London. Wondered what farmyard we'd descended to.
now that i've signed on i need to sign off for a bit. which annoys me
superlative of the do4.6
Just rock from side to side gently!
i'll be back soon
lol, neither. i need to sleep though!
LMAO jac!!!
dawger, you can burp feather. I don't want her over my lap.
feather probably needs to scream, but that's not possible as it will wake the family.
who's going to rock me to sleep then?
i think i'll let Doug do that, but thanks anyway Scrabs
Doug will do that.
no, screaming would hurt the head, which is suddenly getting worse
oh, I SO want to comment on tragic's in and out, but I'll behave myself...
i think you need a snack feather, then bed
ahhhhmmmm, JB!
but...but...i have 50 words left!
{{{dawg}}} I didn't see you!
you're right though dawg.
hee hee hee
let's finish them then feather.
maybe just the snack feather.
du6/24 please?
My mum found out that her best friend of about 45-50 years is gravely ill and i wish i could send her there to see her one last time
*playing Brahms' Lullaby to feather whilst gently stroking her brow*
ugh. sorry i disappeared so soon after reappearing. my computer locked up and i had to reboot. time to buy a new computer.
going to plow through them
i've been lurking and adding a comment here and there JB
hi cliffopa!
(New Mums need all the support they can get!)
I've got 95 left, so I'm gonna hit the list
du+ h**** the dye
ooooh, that feels lovely jac.
I am gald you are back, cliffopa. I was afraid we made you even sadder.
Cliff how does the poor kitty cope with 9 kittys
first na5/1 please?
JBs - what a pity I didn't see Tragics in out comment. Or maybe it's for the best. LOL
Lady, that is a lot of money.
*Keeps on stroking feather's brow*
en5/12?
TO, na + ***t your weary head
Yes it is if i had a job i would be at the bank right now getting a loan
That be4/8 is ridiculous! I tried it because of the point total.
doh! ty!
No, Jac, it was my 'not made' comment about him ...um... (is dawg still there?) popping...um, appearing, yeah, that's it, appearing and disappearing in the chat
Tragicstud is a female.
en + text speak for 'your' + vowel.
lol jbs
the momma cat is definitely not able to nurse all nine kittens herin. i only let them at her a couple times a day. they eat solid food and drink formula.
you're bad JB!
ahh, ty jac
That's not what the "purse" indicates, Scrabbs!
JBs - mybe the chat's too hot so it's hot dickety dawg.
can't see the second fe4/8
y/w, feather.
fe+ **d fellows
i hate asking for the four letter ones....
LOL, Jac...ha ha ha ha
fe + 'strange' minus last letter.
how did the other kittys go? Ginger and all that
tragicstud chose not to put a gender, so her purse is green, but she's female.
But she reported it the other night, I was here. NM, let's wait for her return.
nonono dawg's behaving herself tonight
ok, well that makes me feel better! what an **d word
hey all
Hey Jes
hi jes!
Hi Jes
Green? he non-gender specific handbags look grey to me.
Yes, grey is what I see
oh herin, you are so sweet to remember those kittens. they all got adopted about a week after going back to the shelter.
Were those the Disney named ones, cliffopa?
33 left
JES!
That was the names from Gilligans island
go feather go!
Go go Feather!
how's everyone?
Oh yes, and I admit it's all my fault that the little people Dr_God intended those pink and blue icons to be ended up as handbags (Brit) and purses (US) because of me. I was here when he first installed it and I saw handbags. LOL.
BING BONG - 10pm, time for beddy bye for me. *waves to all*
night JBs!
Cliff does this batch have names or are they nameless? Cause i remember fur babies. Alive, breathing
Hello jesdraggon! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
no, those were the gilligan's island crew. the disney crew was four months ago - although i kept the little princess aurora.
Jes, my old hamster, Oliver, is lying here dying.
aww :( i'm sorry, scrab
night JB
*blinks at the mu5/16 being accepted*
night jb!
how old is he?
new babies are: feather, odin, mikey, muffin, fancy face, bear, sydney, garfield and little bit.
{{{hugs}}} to those who need it (herin, Scrabbler), and <grins> to those who appreciate babies, lawyers, and gassy emissions
He is 2 yrs 8 mo---quite old for a hamster. I see and palpate a liver tumor.
feather! great name!
second na5/10 please?
Scrabbs - you can stroke him a time or two now if you want. However, it might be best to place him comfortably back in his cage and leave him to it...
feather is the alpha kitten. she is all white except for a small gray spot on her forehead.
ah. yeah, that's pretty "aged" for a hamster. time to put him down?

Hi 72 Temple Owl! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
No, Brookie, I have had a tough 5 days and need sleep.
I am watching the Larmie Project it is very good.
That explains it, Owl. You solved the mystery.
harp, i think it's only used for that word. yw
glad you like it, it is far removed from stuff that lickety chooses
Scrabbs - it's gonna be a long niht for you if you don't just go to bed.xxx Go now, as the song once said.
understood, scrabbler. today was probably one of the WORST days of my life... I decided not to do work today and devote my time to Babble for distraction.
I need a video for today...
OK, I am at even numbers (116/94) and that makes my OCD brain happy. Good night. Oliver and I are going to bed.
brookie?? you ok?
brook, everything okay?
What happened Brookie?
Brookie?
Just some nightmarish court stuff. Everything will hopefully sort itself out.
Scrabbler rest well
Custody stuff?
Has to do with custody.
oh dear! so sorry you are suffering stress of that
Scrabbs - you and Oliver do that.... me and MrP willl be here for now.
Like Scrabbler, will try to go to bed soon and be wel rested for tomorrow.

Good night from me & Oliver. I hope Oliver crosses the rainbow bridge soon--when he is ready.

Wondering, here, what music vid might be best for MrP.
Good night, Scrabbler.
Good night, Scrabbler
Good night Scrabbler and sweet Oliver

Resisting temptation to play Don't Cry for me Argentina for herin.
ur5/12?
Goodbye Scrabbler! I will see you tomorrow in the log
jac that may be said in jest but its not funny. I am totally hopeless at the moment that i cant send my mum to england. Just once i wish i could help
ru4/5 after regretted please?
ur + I *** too much and have a tummy ache
I've done all the work I can do for now and am looking forward to a day of rest in 8 hours' or so.
anything that madonna sang is vetoed... hang up the microphone maggy
MrP - I'm with you there! Can't stand the woman!
no madoona fan, mr. p?
TO, the person who does the regretting... or do you need the one after that?
she is feral!
ru 4/5 rhymes with du 4/6 word (Sting movie) Temple
ty
MrP - try Yes, 'Owner of a broken arm'.... LOL
Adapt the lyrics like we parody writers do.
I love that jac! LOL
Glad you got it, MrP!
what ever happened to our parody writings in babanon?
They just died, MrP.:(
we really should revive it
If anyone is looking for simple parody - then try ABB.
ABBA
Does anyone have a clue for the re 6/21 word please
I meant to ask for a clue for the ur6/21 word instead
Or, Bonnie \Tyler.... 'It's a hard egg' What a fuss to make about our boiled egg not being soft!
you twins today!
min ur6 is the "plural" of the ur5/12
ur6/21 = u + bank ra***
Thank you for the ur 6/21 clue. I just found the word
Or, mrP - Mull of Kintyre, mince rolling in from the sea... Oh, LOL
LOL! entertaining jac!
Misheard lyrics are great fun but not so great when we see a book coming out that is almost entirely derived from the website where we all said that!
sting mmovie?
ru 4/5 is ru plus single hump letter plus a vowel 72 TO
TO, sand du**
oh my this babbling during commercial breaks is difficult
le5, anybody?
ugh, a new species of millipede has been discovered, when rolled up, it's the size of an orange!
I just made it to point score of 2007. Being that it is the year 2007, seems like a good time to stop since I will never finish anyway.Thank you for all of the clues
I really do get pe*d off by writers who steal from sites without even asking. I once had a friend who had a short story in a women's mag that was directly found from me telling my troubles to her. She was a new writer and I am an 'old' writer... that p*SSSED ME OFF NO END. I've made it a personal rule never to do that to my friends.
The le 5/14 word is le + London clock Big *** dan2bit.
http://tinyurl.com/3agp9v
good night min!
tx minver - I thought i monkeyed that
yw
Goodnight to my fellow babblers!I'll see you tomorrow
ar5/12?
'Bye, Min.
nite min :)
harp, ar + have we ***? my name is fran
ar + friends well ***!
thanks, stupid word
This is my last sober night for a while. Daugher starts moving out on friday through till Sunday for Uni.
awww jac!
I'm so glad she's alive and making a life, but I still feel cheated for the 3 years she was away in hospital. Yes, I'll ave her off and be bright-eyed and positive... I might collapse after that though.
important thing is, she is better and she has you :)
So, weeping Mum come Sunday? Lots of hugs needed then.
we will be here :)
MrP - I know! Still don't want her to go though!
i'll be here to give you a big virtual hug jac! :-)
Have been talking to my own Mum a\bout this... I know understand why SHE went to 'weird' after my marriage.
Thanks, Fran. I will need it.
night all. see you tomorrow
We are all quite cruel to our mothers, believing they will always be there, aren't we?
night dawg!
nigh dawg :)
'Nigh lbd.
night dawg
One day our mothers will die, and then we will long for that insistent tone on the phone, that, 'Just couldn't be anything than our mother' to be her. We get off the phone as fast as we can whjen she's whittering on to us... but we love our Mums..
of course we do jac.
Unfortunately... 2007 hasn't brought the technology to bring the dead back.
My Mum, Fran, will outlive me. She's determined to 'cos I smoke and she doesn't.
how old is she jac?
73, Fran and younger than me
if she's that determined she might do it jac. :-)
I have no doubt she will do it, Fran. Females on the maternal side of family don't tend to drop off the mortal coil abefore about 93.
hey jac, what did you make of britney spears at the MTV awards?
jac made out with britney spears at the MTV awards?
MrP - don't watch those sort of progs but saw the newspaper about her being flabby and unsure. I would think, from that, that her PR company has pushed her into an appearance before she iss ready.
dan, wrong blond. :-)
ahh
mrp, i read today that someone had selected a flattering corset outfit for her and she chose to go with the bikini instead.
Fran - don't talk to me about blondes. Had a hell of a shock at my best friend's wedding a bout 3 weeks ago when she walked into registry office and I wondered who the heck the blonde was.
so she wasn't blond before?
Me and my best mate are brunettes. We've never been 'dumb blondes'. LOL
also, she pissed off the hairdresser that was supposed to do her extensions and that's why her hair looked so awful.
Fran - blond = male fair. Blonde = female fair.
Sorry!
so sorry jac, in your pictures your hair is on the lighter side.
sorry, that 10:13 comment was about britney, not jac's best mate. :-)
Fran - that's sexy silver, not blonde! LOL
LOL, pardon moi. :-)
whee fireworks! Ludlum hero Jason was my last
yay dan!!!!
who knew he was a word too, eh?
yeah sneaky
If my daughter was around more often, I'd still be a brunette! Which reminds me.. she still has one task to do for me before she leaves for Uni/// dying my hair.... Other Half must watch and learn... I can dye hair but I can't dye my own without flecking specks of colour everywhere.
The carpets really can't take it. LOL
my husband's nephew does his mother's and girlfriends' hair, i'm sure your man will have no trouble.
okay, if no one needs clues now, I'll be off soon.
this particular nephew is definitely masculine too.
just have lots of latex gloves on hand. :-)
A male, young one, ex-boyfriend of hers brother, does my daughter's hair, Fran.
evening all
just emphasize how much money you'll be saving.
hi moo!!
hey franny...
hello again everyone
evening hk
hi hk!
hi moo, fran, jacs
I guess I will just have to persuade Jamie to do my hair, too.
last one...ar6/24
your icons remind of a babbler named ankhorite. she should be back babbling when the weather gets cooler.
ar6 = ar + mu4

hk, someone said she's gardening in the spring and summer and will be back to babble in the fall and winter.
teven Birkla, known to some Babblers as Mtnjock, passed away Friday, 1 Sept 2006 after a short illness.
Just stand qiwtly for a while and remember him.
*Steven, btw.
i remember the name, that's too bad.
Sgteven Birkla, aka Mtnjock. Remember him!
interesting, we know each other pretty well, i think, but unless we know someone else on here personally to let everyone else know, no one will ever find out whats happened to someone if they just suddenly quit playing
i know hk, everyone's worried about ADHDwordlover right now, she hasn't been on for a while.
i hope she's ok
hi babblers
Hello all...how is everyone doing?
hi ping!
hiya ping!
Hell, Hi once again. What you poste is quite significant really to my so-called status on another chat site wher I have actually met many members in person... I haven't been around for quite a while on tere, other than addding to my personal jukebox... do they wonder whre I've got to? Nope !
hi nonnie
hi hk
not too bad, nonnie. wandered away and now i'm back for what looks like a depressing conversation...
hi nonnie
hey ping! i'm on your facebook page right now!
hi fran
jacs - well, we here would certainly notice your absence - but then, babblers, well, we're just the best :)
hi nonnie!
hiya jes
i like facebook
heh. and some of us wouldn't be able to finish grids without your clues!
better than myspace
lol so true draggon!
i have to go find that goodreads app like you have.
i have my last.fm stuff on my page.
Hell, I would not agrue with that.
you can search in the applications, fran
hi jac
may i have a clue please for the un6/27 please? ty
un + me 4/6
un6/27 = to unentagle from the net.
Strewth! Tere's always one! LOL.
ty, nonnie and jacs! i have two more to go
i found it ping.
Hvae you escaped now, TO?
go TO go
i'll be right back
Dang, we're a colorful bunch of icons tonight!
yes, ty! : )
colorful plus a dog
too tired to play tonight - just saying hi - see you tomorrow
firewords
and a cute dog at that!
aw- i so hear that, and goodnight ping :)
congrats hk!
bye bye ping
and that's fireworks for me! good night all! good night ping!
Nonnie. - here in UK we don'y do the cheer leader thing, in fact, if we telll someone to 'go' then we are telling them to b*gger off!
thank you nonnie
'night ping
her name is taly (pronounced rhyming with dollie)
and yay helen!
Tired now. Leaving site.
g'night jac
niters {{{{ jacs }}}}
bye jac, get some rest.
bye TO
does her name have a meaning, stud?
*hk makes note to self to use the phrase 'bugger off' to someone tomorrow*
yeah- not in a language though
i have an early day tomorrow - outta here too - niters all
lol hk
sleep sweet, helen
bye bye, hk--take care.
it's an acronym about my ex... better than getting a tattoo
i needed a way to get myself over her
it's not worked
but i do love me some taly :)
we got a baby pomeranian just recently, her name is gilly -which is short for gilda, gilda radner
ah, I see!
i kinda wish it were spelled tali though so i wouldn't have to pronounce it all the time
aww... gilly is an adorable name for a pom
I loved gilda radner.
i hope she's potty training better than taly is :)
yes, i loved gilda radner too, however, her autobiography was very sad
yeah it was...
I know she battled the cancer and lost but was her growing up years difficult?
tragic - no way, this is my 3rd pom & i've never had any luck in that department, although this one is using the pee-pee pads, yay! now our rescue mutt, trained in 3 days at 10 weeks old - he's brilliant
and that's why i don't bring home puppies ;)
nonnie - she was looking for love in all the wrong places - i think that sums it up very well - that was the basis of her comedy
well, luckily taly has a different name than her namesake, cause her namesakes miserable
i feel like all comedians have roughness somewhere
there's a lot of tragedy behind real comedy
methinks you're right jes
probably so, stud
anyway, i'm outta here now, good nite everyone :)
g'night
nighty night, hk
night hk
god i'm in such a poo mood
cocoa helps that, stud.
sorry to hear that
the music thing is amazing though- the one that's on our accounts
yeah yes, agreed, but i think i'm in a pissed that no one is here to make it for me type of mood
i'm hosting a pity party for myself this eve :)
heh. well, if you show up before i go to bed, i'll make you a mug of cocoa.
and let you pet the kitties and the hound-dog ears. good fuzz-therapy in hound-dog-ears.
i'm back
:)
thanks - i don't know how to get to the middle of nowhere sadly, but i very much appreciate the offer :)
welcome back, fran
i think i have a problematically depressing playlist going though :)
heh. drive north and west and keep going until you're definitely lost, then start knocking on doors ;)
you have no idea how much i'd do that if i didn't have to work
thanks nonnie!
hmm. actually, from where you are, don't go much north--i'm not quite in canada
jack russells can open zippers
if anyone was curious
smart dogs!
there's no hiding anything in a duffel in this room anymore
this does not surprise me. but i've had an escalating war of fence-building vs. escapism with my hound for the last 7 years...
also not surprising
true. but i've gotten much better at building fences ;)
maybe he'll help me find you when i get close to ya
Our golden climbed the fence to escape. We'd get a call from the little elderly woman who lived next door; "Your red dog is climbing over the fence again!"
:)
i enjoy a story with descriptives
i don't have enough candy for my pity party
i wish i had some chocolate up in this place
heh. rally climbs very well. but >I< can pay a power bill, so there is hot wire at the top of the fence ;)
hmm. well, would long-winded stories of the torment my clients put me through make you feel better, or at least distract you?
lol... if it doesn't at all remind me of the torment of my clients :)
well, i don't know what your clients do. but i rant about mine at draggonlaady.livejournal.com
just posted a particularly long and rambling one tonight.
the birds! i remember the birds now
oh no. did i set off a flashback?
it's within the realm of possibility that i might need to sleep...
lol
no
i'm ok with birds
i think i've been to your journal before :)
heh. sleep is a myth perpetuated by mattress manufacturers.
i enjoy that sentence
i do aim to please ;)
:)
the pup finally calmed
my eldest is not pleased with her energy
and she's back up again
lol
heh. they're made of springs, you know.
tiggers are wonderful things
i need to clean my room... she'll have less to do when this room is cleaner
hi all

it was library day plus lots of other odds and ends -- yes, good

oh, too bad.
ok. clue time :)
the first 3 un words, please?
I have 4 left and need help. Le 5/14, please.
and the fr 6 and 7, too please.
the most satisfactory thing about the day was finding some friends to help read the last Harry Potter book to a sight-impaired friend. She had asked some other so-called "friends" who had said no, they would read something else but were too snobbish to read HP. Appalling.
