at 97 so far dart
it was horrible, helen.
i gotta say that i was reading it (i don't know where i stopped, but i;m sure it went on for longer than i cared to read)
hours hk!
~10 hours. :\
but the thought crossed my mind that i have a better understanding of all these school shootings
i know that's terrible to say, but those kids were relentless, a whole nother level of mean, nothing like that when i was a kid
no kidding hk
oh?
yeah, i guess i can see that.
hi all
hello, ornith
hi ornith!
i was no angel as a kid, but i would never do anything like that
can you imagine being a peer & being a target of that kind of abuse, those kids had no restraint
I find it interesting that we've had British trolls, American ones and Aussies but they are all the same...
anyway, felt i had to get that off my chest
a hearty hello to all

Just maintenance - although Bob seems to be quite 'high' maintenance now unfortunately. See you later
dc, I've refreshed but don't see your clouds unless I click on your orange shirt!
i had to refresh 3x to get them to show up, myself. *shrug* the vagaries of babble
Only 200 more words to go!
hi, trevon.
Hello there, dcseain. How are you doing on this lovely night?
okay, babbling away, bored at work. :)
Wow you work pretty late, huh?
19-7 local time, so yeah
hello trevon -- my hubby's name was Trevor
Ws defeated
well done, jilli.
i've vanquished those and the Os so far.
any of you know if the co7/32 builds on the co4 before it?
good for you, dc :)
owee should be a word :(
i agree, jilli
though i think it takes owies, no?
yes, dc
darn -- proudly found cojones -- not allowed
yeah, lickety mentioned it's in the enable he uses, but not this one.
Js done!!
owie isn't allowed either dc
woo Fran!
hooray for fran!
i came within 4 words of finishing without the list last night, but ran out of steam.
i doubt i'll come that close tonight.
i'm sure you'll do a de6/24 job of it anyway, fran.
the latter de6/24, that is.
thanks dc. :-)
ty dc for the de6
and thanks, i didn't have the first de6
it was easy to find after the 2nd.
today is proving quite challenging for me, all in all.
hmm...i hate it when you can make the same words in different directions...it seems such a waste
i was surprised when you said it's taken you 2 years to do icon themes dc, you must have been pretty quiet for most of that time.
hi rolin!
yeah, and you think you've found a new word each time. :-)
hey fra...is the theme skies?
cloudy skies specifically rolin
ok///i changed accordingly..*s*
going to take a short break, see you all later!
nice rolin! coordinates well with dc's icon. :-)
bye!
i took it last year in aus
bye
fran, I'll probably be in dreamland when you get back, so nighty night
beautiful, rolin!
it was a holiday of great sinsets jilli
lol..well that too...but i meant sUNsets...lol
lol rolin!
hi all :) here with a cloudy sky - sunrise taken about 20 minutes ago through my window
beautiful Atalante
wow, ata! I never see sunrises
beautiful!
so its obviously not raining with you yet ata..
one of my favorite was to watch sunrises is over the US Capitol from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
red in the morning sailor's warning...
off to bed, goodnight all
g'night, flosey
Thats funny Chic, just this morning my son and I were discussing how accurate that saying actually is!
it is rather accurate
you can tell a lot by reading the sky and clouds etc..
no, rolin. but with that sky, I'm sure it will be
You sure can...especially if you slow down long enough to enjoy it and really look!
http://www.cloudappreciationsociety.or g/
morning all
ty, freep. Morning, Ishult
Well, I found 150 words no problem, but no one 7 or 8 ???????
red sky in the morning, sailor's warning
I've got one 7 - jo7/48
not even the EN6/7?
bye flosey
hi ishult
I have a se6/7
just found th en6/7 combo ty
steady blue, clouds are few, flashing blue, clouds are due, steady red, rain ahead, flashing red, snow instead.
and the se6/7
jilli - you can turn that into an 8, too, if its the same se6/7 as I've got
looking for the j7 now!!
that's the poem for how to tell weather from the light atop the old John Hancock tower in Boston, Mass.
not as useful as clouds, but neat anyway.
Wow Freep thanx, that site is awesome! hours and hours of browsing....
I like that dc, haven't heard that one.
how cool that they had different lights!
yw. love that site, too.
g'night all....
i'd not have a clue about it, but for i lived in Boston 1993-94.
ok...better get to work..bye all..
you can see the tower from the red line subway i took to work when i first moved up there.
ciao, rolin, hope you have a great day!
ata, I don't think I have the same se7 -- mine's the first one
dont know which mine is, but I've got a 6/24, 7/36, 8/50 combo
yes ,i have those ata, but not the 6/7 before them.
jilli, the others are all based on fractions of a minute.
the first 2 are beautEful
yay, I just added the wu4 thinking it wasn't a word!! Ha ha ha... have to keep going now
hey mrp! how's the arm doing?
hey Mrp! how's by you?
hi dcs :) arm is hanging around... being a pain LOL
hi chic! (((hugs)))
chic, hail you from the western great lakes originally, say Minnesota?
I have the fraction-of-a-minute 6 but not the 7 or 8 and am too sleepified now to see it :(
add a vowel, and plural.
eeeeeee, jilli :)
mrp -- is your arm still hurting a lot?
Nope, dc, orginally from brooklyn and then North jersey
huh. 'how's by you' i associate with Minneapolis/St Paul. I guess NYC area uses it too?
tyvm, ata!
yes I guess so....
I'm a sort of ex-New Yorker and "How's by you" was quite common there.
finally got the 1st se6/7, South Carolina as a clue woulda gotten me there faster. OTOH, it shoulda been obvious.
Wll, lots over halfway and words for all tiles so I'm off to bed -- night all
I'm outta here too; got early Doc's for shots..Yay!
g'night jilli and chic
*poof*
bbl, gonna finish the last 8 emails, then will be back
finally have the se8. Anyone got the other 8??????
i don't yet, but i think it's a plural.
the co7/8 is a compound and plural
clue?
huh, it's an evergreen indigineous to Florida, with an edible root.
clue for the last co7: animal and what a man wears around his neck
might you have the 1st co 7/32?
wow. never heard of that!
nor had i before today.
got it,ty
just missing one more 7
which?
got co7/32x2, en7/36, jo7/48 & se7/36x2....what am I missing????
es7/32
thanks dc, got it straight away!
doing better than i am then. Well done!
stower
sorry
wasn't right anyway!!!!
that one isn't valid, though several variants on its root are.
morning all
good morning, sprite!
hey dc! How is it going?
okay, very slow night here at work
hi spritey!
bored and thankful for babble? :) Hey Ata! *hug*
i'm getting through it by nibbling Petite Ecoliers, 70% chocolate. :)
indeed, sprite
ooooow tough remedy, dc! :D
Chocolate makes [almost] anything better
too true
only in babble does one think of words like au6.
it's archaic - we au6 through the countryside on sunday.
it flowed naturally from my fingers once i found the base au.
in dutch we cannot say that, lol. Past tense vehicles are on the scrapheap, not in language.
the jo7 was hard for me, as the jo5 is not in my vocabulary.
why can't I see it, LOL!
au4 - to move about in a motor vehicle
verb form, not noun.
oh. silly word!
oh, ata, did you mean the jo5 or the au?
the au ;) got the jo7 - which is another silly word LOL
i agree, ata, they use that verb up North, and in parts of the Deep South, but not here in the middle.
if there is only one jo7, I have it and yes, it is weird.
it's the 3rd person conjugation of the jo5/20, which means approximately "to have a hankering".
or 'to be itching to do'
it's a silly word i comprehend, but do not grok at all.
an itching to have something, like heroine or caffeine. Ah well... I thought it was a plural average person.
what others sometimes feel compelled to do.... to keep up with the jo7
i'm jo5ing for a burger.
hi
yeah, more something like that, indeed. Hi BabbleRabble, good to see you.
hi lady
hello, babrab & lady
could i have todays stats please and any biggies
hello, folks
213, 2x8, 7,7
morning, cool girl
hi cool, 213 total, 2 x 8, 7 x 7
thankyou
or what dc already said :)
does anyone no how many js there are
14 Js
not me yet, sorry
including a 7
How are we all. I have updated my icon
14???? *sigh* Not my best letter, the J.
sprite, it's a rare letter, few of us do very well with it. It's worse than K for most of us.
I got a shiny new mobile today
nothing is worse than Ks, but it is close, LOL. Thanks dc :)
congrats lady
This is so i can call my g.f for free and sms her and my b.f doesnt have to pay for my calls
of the type that is not a stabile, or the type you drive, lady?
Shiny new mobile phone i believe its a Nokia 6120 with a manual of phd quality
oh, cool.
that option did not even occur to me :">
ah, cell phone, I got it. A new toy for the girl :)
nor me, dc!
I try and pay for things and he says its his job to look after me (round of awww) yes cell phone sorry forgot international speak
well, LOL, mobiel is the dutch expression! I had to learn cell phone... and now you got me all mixed up, grin.
mobile is the standard term outside of North America, Sprite.
I can always depend on you to unmix me, dc, thanks! Will remember that... I think most tv series I see here are from north america then.
ok in aus we call them mobiles. I hate loath and detest having and paying monthly charges for one but my g.f doesnt have a land line so i got one with the same carrier as her so i can talk to her for free (yes it costs $30 a month so free its not)
but not as expensive as the former solution. GOod one, lady.
most of my friends and i all changed to one carrier to reduce costs.
Yes it was costing him about $200 a month in calls and net and he wont let me look at the dang bill. Going to look at other home options so we can reduce the call charges
Is anyone here?
sure, still here
How are you Sprite?
dc, did you say there was an es8? Or did I make that up?
you made that up :)
lady: having the whole day for myself, kids staying at a friend's, hubby at work, shopping already done... today is a good day. Will cook delicious dinner for hubby and me tonight.
thanks Ata, that saves me from looking!
Hi Ata Yah for a free day. Last 2 days have been busy here
8s = co, se
ok, thanks again! I did have an es7 and could not make it into an 8, it drove me crazy. Self inflicted insanity :D
Oh and also troll issues are being sorted to
any news there, lady? On the troll issues I mean?
did I miss dc's exit or did work call him away from us abruptly?
Yes that is being sorted by the main man, the school and the police
Dcs work probably rudely interrupted his babble
wooot! Even the police, I like that. A good scare will do them good, I think.
I just made up a beautiful 8. The white cold stuff from the sky in secret writing.
work, well really, a debate about the divinity of Jesus, but with coworkers.
I dont know what they police were doing. I have been talking to the babbler in question. Seems im not the trolls fav person (but then again i did tell them to go copulate with themselves)
do you know who got the police involved, lady? And do you know if drG is at all considering appointing some mods?
i'm presuming the logs of the chat will be submitted to the police?
they were all over you, lady, I remember. But I also remember you were one of the few that actually got into debate with them... that is always the spark in their fuel.
oh wow, dc, and you say your nights aren't exciting!
in fact, they did something that is punishable by law... threatening to rape some of us. :)
and i logged on again from home, most of 10hrs of those little hellions. I even took offence, despite making an effort to not take some of their comments personally.
More than likely chat will be submitted to principle and stuff. I did not debate with them but told them to sod off that is all.
CHeck back herinfernal, you used foul language to them.
i agree, lady.
morning, haz.
Some people descended to their level in language and tone. The whole episode has taken up far too much chat log, both from them and from endless discussions afterwards. Can we move on? I don't want to be constantly reminded about it.
hi Haz! Yes, that is what I meant, maybe debate is not the correct term. But lady, you reacted to them personally and they were delighted to have you to direct their foul attacks to. Alas.
Heya fellow babblers! :p
hey RARz
hi RARz
But it is being sorted (4 grids of badness is good) Yes i did tell them to f off after many hours of crap (which i was here for all of as my time is the same as theirs and that was my bad i shouldnt have sworn but i was going to go nuts for not saying anything so i had my tantie and zipped it
ANd i second that Haz moving on is great. How is Spangler.
With this new mobile it has all this new technology and i am hopeless at it
Yes, but we had to read it. I don't use that language, I don't expect pro members to use it, no matter WHAT the provocation.
I was there too, lady, I remember. *hug*
I demanded the easiest mobile they had at the store. The salesman went bananas, he SOOO wanted to sell me the state of the art bestest ever and I only said: I don't use all that, give me one that simply does its job and nothing else.
Yes as i said that was very bad on my part and i rephrased my self last night (head desk)
Sprite i had the guy today going 'but for an extra $12 you can have every thing (that my net already does)
last phone i bought had features i thought i'd never use, but i txt, sms, surf the internet, and take pictures with my phone.
So i said no thanks but ill have the $3 a month unlimited mms (picture messaging) so i can talk for free.
that is exactly it, lady, lol.
I am rarely not at home and when i am not why would i have the net when im out (as you can watch pay tv and stuff)
let me see, dc... I DO use sms. None of the rest you mentioned. And I occasionally pick up the phone when someone calls me... I call others... and I use the "reminder" feature a lot for appointments, I LOVE that one.
i check my email sometimes on my phone, and read LJ on it on ocassion.
I use AIM or YIM on the phone
SMS rocks.
I realise I am a dinosaur when it comes to mobiles. I hate being called when I am out. I don't want to be available to everybody all the time. I don't even always pick up my phone at home :)
i can do that too DC but i like that the lady told me you can do free sms by using mms just take a pic of your toe or what ever
i'm thinking on upgrading one of my phones to an iPhone soon.
Dc i dont know about that
lol lady, that is smart!
on my plan, i get unlimited text and internet at no add'l charge.
i have doubts, too lady, praytell yours?
text = sms?
hey all,
yes, sprite
hi bfsog
howdy, bfsog
thanks dc. Sorry to be stupid about the words :)
Text is SMS and MMS is pictures with messaging.
oddly my mms cost nothing, so i just use that to text, i get 50 characters so.. :)
bfsog survived the troll attack and did not even run off... quite heroic, bfsog! And good to see you back with us.
MMS only available here with GSM networks, my carrier is one of the CDMA ones.
50 chars is enough for most of my messages anyway :)
all my messages are "hey, pub?"
Ok for starters with the IPHONE it can be a right itch to get it to synchronise with Outlook and that kind of thing and also its quite small in memory for music
it is a date, bfsog :)
music, i can take or leave, outlook, don't use it
i love the visual vmail feature it offers.
lol dc, now you lost me. What is that?
voice mails display on the phone, and you can pick which to listen to out of sequence, and delete whichever without listening.
http://www.cnet.com.au/ has some good reviews
Dont touch LG Prada fone is reportedly poo
i'm bad about vmail, and that feature would be a godsend from my pov
ahhhh ok that sounds good. Especially the deleting part :)
is iphone available in Aus now?
i must say i've not paid much attention to rollout outside US/CA
hi all
hello Xanika
howdy, xanika
I am not sure about that
the Cnet set kept appearing every time i was looking for a phone
Hi Xanika
pokes the grid
G'day, mates! (my feeble attempt at becoming one with this grid) one of the words is aussie!
Hi JB
Not accepted, alas, by enable...
i'm here, well I'm not cos I'm about to take the pup out for her walk
Good morning, herin!
howdie, JB!
How is puppy?
hi JB
hi, JB
desperate for a walk LOL and gorgeous as ever
Hi, Atalante, Sprite, dcseain!
great pics, Ata
Walk me walk me walk walk me. cat tried to eat my friends dog then us today
good kitty!
ty :) go kitty!
go kitty go!
ah, I'd love an iPhone, but I think it would become an expensive video game for Bejeweled!
Yes it was bad.
the new cat, herin? She didn't LOOK evil in the pics!
LOLLL JB... one of my former addictions!
Jb new cat and she fecken hates the dog (the dog is her size)
Oh Bejewelled i think i can get that for the DS
yes, you can, lady.
the cat will adjust
even my cranky old tom mostly leaves the dog alone.
I have a Palm Pilot which fills in well for an MP3, ebook reader, and several games
or simply for PC... with beautiful backgrounds
now, if only the younger cat would leave the rabbit alone....
I was a one of thing. She has never played well with others
merry households you have :D
If by "adjust" you mean "lock the evil eye and flatten the ears" every time the dog is in the vicinity
no, Jasper, my elder, now will walk past the dog w/out hiss, swatting, nor biting, if the dog is lying still.
No the cat will and has launched her self at the dog in the past. Dog gets taken to the back room and the back door is opened for her
he moves away from the door now when the dog is coming in from a walk
only took hum most of 2 years to get to that point. :)
Isnt there a disney bejewlled for ds?
Poor puppy, to be treated so (and remember, I have cats!)
well done dc :D :D
actually, puppies, herin's & dc's!
Well this was an 'emergency visit
I don't know many K words, which makes the Ks so hard. I know too many Co words, which makes the C so hard!
I cant think about c words
at least it always gives me something to nag about
Dc is the DS Metros Disney the same as bejewelled?
i've seen it, and i thought it mas more tetris-like, but i honestly don't recall.
Whoo hoo - good start to the day - I got ALL the J words!
JB, wtg!!!! You beat me there, I still need 5 of them!
Do you want hints or stats, sprite?
Ok
Yah Jb
no, thanks for offering, JB, but I love to torture myself :)
sod i didnt see that many J words
dc said there were 14 of them, lady.
of which i lack the je and the jo 5/30s.
Okay, sprite, don't look! 9 j4 4 j5 1j7
I have j + needed to pay him money for one of them, dc.
I was clothes shopping today all dresses made me look fat or pregnant neither of which is good
and do you think it was the dressed that were to blame, lady, or are you looking at yourself with a way too critical eye?
*dresseS
jo 5/30 that is, dc
Actually, sprite, if you change the first vowel in that j5 word, it's one letter off from the word you clued
ty, sprite
Dresses as they are all cut under the bust and flow out
And with that, I must go and prepare for work, catching the 6:00am bus!
oy gevalt! ty jb.
ciao, jb
thank you, JB :)
Oh herein, it is the most 'orrible fashion lately! even the slimmet laes look ix months gone
Oy, yourself, dc - lol! (quiet now, don't wake DH!)
ah, that is my favo style of clothing, lady, and I cannot get it here atm. We should switch shops for a day :)
prite - send me your sizes, Ill send some over!
yw, sprite, happy to help!
ah, wouldn't that be lovely, gran!
Have fun with the grid today, y'all! *poof*
hello all
bye JB, hi rmcc
the phone has not rung for 6hrs.
That could be a good idea
Hi RMcc
hello, rmcc.
hello everyone! sprite, so sorry darling! my internet went down 2 and half hours ago!!
wb, mrp
mrP, dearheart, don't worry! I knew it had to be something like that.
how irritating for you, btw!
I came on, said hi and dcs and chic asked me how I was and my internet rudely cut me off!
hey mrp!! and hello sprite, herin and dcs
makes for short conversations, lol... not what we want.
so dcs, arm is doing fine thanks! chic, good to see you and I am home!
so sorry darling sprite!!
glad to hear that it's doing better.
Js done, thanks to JB :)
we can do this again tomorrow I promise!! I have no idea why it went askew
mrP, don't say sorry, it is perfectly ok! Sh!t happens ;)
phantom: jellygraph
we will try same time tomorrow then and see if the connection behaves this time!
shit is right... but I got to spend alot of time with Luke watching mythbusters!!
ah, isn't your mind a wonderful thing, BabbleRabble! I would never have found that phantom ;)
jellygraph - is that how yogi bear communicates with the outside world?
oh it will sprite! Mark is going to run a NASA diagnostic system to see what is going on LOL
oh that is so much fun, mrP. My kids love it too. Well... so do my husband and I, actually :)
if lickety has it under observation, it will be perfect in to time, mrP, I know
always something worth doing! no matter what is going on :)
Mr PRes who broke the net?
help w/the 2nd ta6/18, pls?
ta 6 -- rhymes with the tv collie
going through the grid yesterday was fun... I just watched everyone's clues and finished the grid :)) ... so is just as easy to do without the list! except for those awful 300+ days! LOL
sigh. ty, babbleRabble
oh yes, it is, mrP :) Oh BabbleRabble, your profile text is so much fun today, thanks :)
ta6 is a devil!
did you go out as well infern?
clue pls, jo7/48?
plural of the 5 above it, or keeping up with the jo7.
I did
it must have been a telstra problem then... bastards
I bought a new phone and oh shoot i havent eaten in 12 hours
jo 7 -- bon homme richard captain, Jone Paul, pluraled
get ye to some food, lady
thanx dcs
oops BabbleRabble...
Not that hungry
i have days like that myself.
I can relate to that, lady.
Actually had half a slice of date loaf
pan dátil almendreado is a fav of mine. date-almond loaf, that is.
maddison is home from ballet, and lickety is dragging the dinner up the stairs... yay! see you all in abit!
DC do you always slip into el spanish?
cul8r mrp
enjoy them all, mrP! *hug*
Oh Ballet love it. Mr Pres bye?
sometimes, i grew up bilngual, but in that case, i learned the food that way, and when i buy it here, it's packaged the same as in Spain.
last one!!! clue pls co7/32, the first one?
co + vowel + webpage
Luvs you anyway DC
ty, sprite.
i did think to translate it this time, at least. :)
yw dc :)
co 7 -- add, a UR L takes you to a w*b****
I like it, actually, I get to pick up some spanish words on the way.
thanx sprite. fireworks finally!
wtg rmcc!
congrats, rmcc
Yah RMC?
Yah RMC!!! i meant
Hooray, RMCC!
need to eat now brb
I grew up monosyllabic
that sounds sad, BabbleRabble. Makes me wanna hug you.
I've made up for it
good for you! A strong spirit lives inside you, even I can tell from here.
by lady
*bye lady
I hope you are not irritated with me for saying that, BabbleRabble. If you are, I apologise.
no, sprite, not at all
I am glad :) Don't want to overstep limits, just was speaking my mind.
I was thinking about the number of times people have tried to put some whoa in my giddyup
oops... now I need some translating, lol.
Well that was amusing
whoa - to slow a horse, giddyup - used to speed up a horse.
yeah, I jsut found that in the dictionary... very funny way of putting it.
i'm so looking forward to going home this morning. only an hour to go.
Well this will give you all a laugh
poor dc... things have been insanely slow, even for nights, haven't they. But we are here for you ;)
yep
i got 6 hrs left :\
this chat gets me through the nights. :)
went to the loo, door was open and there is wet on the floor. Im like 'Honey did you pee on the floor' 'NO ewww' closer looking i saw paw prints in the water
babble is a good thing! bfsog... 6 hrs left at work? At all? At the grid?
another good reason to keep the lid down, and the water bowls filled.
work
lol lady... now there is housebreaking and housebreaking... you are taking it a bit far!!
The bowls are filled the door got blown open with a breeze
ah, poor bfsog. Hope there will be work enough to keep you occupied.
:) the joys of dogs
:) the joys of dogs
or babble enough
bfsog, babble gets me through my 12-hr overnight shifts.
it is a good babble today... good chat and nice grid. Should last you quite a while, bfsog.
40 k winds will do it
indeed so!
Hi Bfsog sorry that you have to work you too dc
40 K? Do you want to have me killed, lady???
i've 21 left, been at this off and on for 5 hours.
yeah but i have other stuff on my mind, works in the way
I got 3 words in 3 hours yesterday
down to 41 now and wrestling with all the Ss. At least, I hope there is a lot of S-words, but there always are. And I never am great at those.
Go Sprite and DC
(was still thinking about the giddyup and the whoa... I'd say you are perfectly able to balance them yourself, BabbleRabble, as you see fit... and if you are at all horselike, you are probably the kind with wings)
I am just poking the grid
don't, lady. It cannot keep still when yo do that ;)
he he
Well my English is so bad it took me 3 goes to get the se word (for time)
babble blindness is totally normal in this game though, lady
But 3 goes to get a basic word head desk
is that so? I can have like 10 goes before I spot a very common one, happens at least on4 a grid and usually more often. One of the things I like about babble... tells me something about the way my brain works (or does not work, lol)
wow sprite, according to you you'r no good with co words, re's, k's, j's, and s words. yet you do the grid whole grid every day, and I think without lickety's help. Carring modesty a bit far arn't you, lol
Sprite thats funny though when basic words escape you. Cats spotted a moth
I mean you as im the whole you
LOL joso... no it is not! It is the ho6 truth.
Sprite i find it amazing that you finish grids and english is a second language
words are the basic tools of communication .. yet, even if words are meticulously culled to make a precise point there still is great chance at least a nuance will escape detection --- if not the thought itself
pitbull mentality at first, lady... and later on some practise too. Plus the wonderful clues from my fellow babblers.
I luv clues
that is one promise I have made my husband when we got married... I promise to listen to more than your words, always.
indeed, so, babrab. I've been trying to explain that to my language students - to learn to listen for meaning rather than words.
hello again babblers!
trying to find a few more words before bed
hello, Fran
hi babrab!
uh huh, anyway, got your comics packed, will send tomorrow, (technicly later today, but will sleep before I send, so it'll be my tomorrow). Sorry so slow, got busy, but I know it's a long wait for an 11 year old.
when I counsel people who have communication problems, I always say: look at it this way. You think in dutch. you translate and speak in german. Your partner hears it in french. He thinks about it in spanish. Talks back to you in russian and you hear it in polish. Why do you think there are mistakes in meaning???
hi joso! hi sprite!
slow??? JoSo, that is incredibly fast! I am so looking forward to it... my son even more so :D Thank you SO much.
Fran! Hi, missed your entry for a sec. *hug*
morning, fran, wb
hi fran, good to see you
hey dc!
oh, hi, joso, i'm a bit slow this AM
must go home and sleep, after feeding cats, of course.
sleep well, dc
bye dc! have a good rest
drive safely and sleep well, dc.
oh, sorry, that was more thinking aloud
i'll be around for a few more.
I am sending one in bag with backboard, thought your son might like a comic 4 times older than him.
Drive safe dc
dc is pulling a jilli on us sprite. :-)
hi infernal!
omg joso, that is so special! He will LOVE it. And he will be extremely careful with it!
FRANIEEEEEE
i rarely leave 2nd gear going home, so long as i'm awake, hard to be too unsafe. ;)
lol Fran... he is!
you awake and the rest awake, dc... not just you ;)
er?
oh, gotcha.
i AM slow this AM
I love that phrase, Fran... to pull a jilli on us. Will remember that one!
DC cruise control is your friend
no it is not, at least for me. I find i get terrible unattentive the 2 times i've tried it. I know mine works, because my sister has used it.
you are worn with boredom, dc, not strange after a slow night. Let me rephrase: get home safely, and may the traffic angels keep the fools on the road far away from you.
do you live far from work?
that question was for dc, of course
My boy uses it to stop getting caught speeding
25m, 40k, 60-90min w/traffic.
well, speeding is the least of dc's worries, I think, lol
~30 min w/out traffic.
Well not to be caught speeding but it stops stupidity
at that time of day, sprite, yes. I have gotten cited for speeding twice this year, 74 in a 55 zone, and 72 in a 55 zone. just friday the latter.
everyone cross fingers for no traffic today!
Yah
Dc you are very naughty
hee! Fran, you've never travelled around the DC area on a weekday, have you. :D
at least that is worth it, dc :) I have been cited for driving 74 in a 70 zone. I hate that.
lol, no dc. i've heard traffic is bad though
They had this lass on dr phil that got 10 out of 100 for driving on a simulator (70 is a pass) due to smsing. It is illegal in aus to do that
sprite, that's ludicrous! obviously a slow day for traffic citations!
in HS, if i were driving and couldn't get 3 passengers for a carpool, i had to leave not later than 06:10 to not be late for my 08:30 class 9 miles up the road, and that was 20 years ago.
Sorry fran i just realised how insensitive this conversation may be for you
it is here too, just as speaking on the mobile without a headset is. But people do it anyway.
not at all infernal
Dc for 9 miles wouldnt it be easier to ride a bike?
dc, that's pretty bad
owww lady... you are so right. Sorry Fran :(
I would take a bike.
don't worry about it guys, really
no bike option along that corridor, let alone with 40lbs of books and a violin in tow.
hello, dc was in HS and had a car, what do you think?
i took the bus mostly, it was easier and faster, and free
Fran um may i ask is there any news on that front? Please say squirles if you don't want to answer that.
free?
only drove when i had after-school events.
Oh yes DC Violin on a bus hello maffia
i haven't heard anything infernal
yes, buses are free for k-12 students here.
Im so sorry Fran :(
that's cool
that is a good thing, dc!
*hugs Fran*
when mayor berry was there, any else free on the buses?
lol babrab
in my state, students must be bussed if further than 0.5mile from a primary school, 1.5 mile of a middle school, or 2 miles of a high school, and bused if a student must cross a 4-lane or larger road with a median.
Oh on another note i got an awesome goth teddy bear yesterday its all black with pumpkin coloured sparkles through it for halloween
oh, on the MetroBuses, one can get all sorts of things, even today.
sounds great, lady! Will you put a pic on?
oh, nice, lady! sounnds like a beaut.
cool infernal
Good morning, need a clue for the first co7/32, please?
Yes i will eventually along with the fluffy puppies from the other day.
hi Marc. co + vowel + webpage
hi marc, that must be one of the 7s i'm missing
Any clues please for je 5/30
thanks sprite!
yw Fran :)
gran, past tense of je4/13
je + got married, gran
thanks looking for that also clue for the CO 8 please if there is one?
babble isn't very PC
babble can be incredibly rude and racistic, alas. Stupid game.
thanks sprite bit don't get ther web page clue?
marc, this is a web****
there is, lady. co + not off + what one can wear around his neck, plural
Thanks, why did I not see that!
Marc: an URL leads to a w*b****
What are the 8s pleas?
sprite, animal + what a man wears around his neck works, too.
babble blindness, gran, very normal in this game :)
well, that co8 is a stupidhead word!
the other is se8 infernal
dc... is that the animal that in my vocabulary would start rac?
Thanks, was looking on the wrong side of the grid.
yes, we often drop that syllable
what is the Se 8 pleas?
plural of the long time word, lady. Long in length, not in duration, of course.
se8, plural of se7/36 which is se6/24 + a vowel
thanks dc! I love to learn things like that :D
hey all :)
I dont ahve that one
hi ho!
howdy, hodag
Hi HOdod
HOdog even
just as we say possum instead opossum usually.
hi hodag! ho ho ho dag season is right around the corner, i still remember your santa icon.
you do, lady. You said earlier you had found the time word. Just make it longer.
ah, but the word possum I know... from lady Edna!
*dame Edna, sorry
the NOs today sure are tedious.
doh i spelt it wrong
grannie on the beverly hillbillies forever will be associated to possums for me
yeah, i can see that easily, bab rab
I am still being tortured by the Ss, but slowly getting there.
was that a TV series, BabbleRabble?
yes
no 6 -- add a penny
there was also a movie made of it, not as good as the series though
I don't think it ever made it to the dutch television, but it sounds familiar indeed.
thanks babrab, didn't have that one yet
oddly, it's the three after midday giving me fits.
no 4 -- add an author, * s elliot; pl
dc, one no4 means to snack or nibble on food
think protruding thing in your face, dc
it won't let me add that, but i'm sure it will eventually.
Granny was the best part of the beverly hill billies
ty fran, i miss that word all the time.
what you smell with; a smell verb extending the smelll and eat word
Come listen to a story 'bout a man named Jed, A poor mountaineer barely kept his family fed. Then one day he was shootin' at some food, When up through the ground come a bubblin' crude. Oil, that is ... Texas gold.... LOL!!! I can't believe I still remember that!
yw dc
LOL ch1212
crude....
black gold
d'oh, ty babrab
hi ch!
Hi Ch
they don't make theme songs like that anymore.
Oh, the next thing you know ole Jeb's a millionaire ... (what's the rest?)
Um condes is in the dictionary
jed move away from there
not in the enable one, lady...
hi
ppl
Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed, Then one day he was shootin at some food, And up through the ground came a bubblin crude. Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea. Well the first thing you know ol Jed's a millionaire, Kinfolk said "Jed move away from there" Said "Californy is the place you ought to be" So they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly. Hills, that is. Swimmin pools, movie stars. Well now its time to say good by to Jed and all his kin. And they would like to thank you folks fer kindly droppin in. You're all invited back a gain to this locality To have a heapin helpin of their hospitality Hillybilly that is. Set a spell, Take your shoes off. Y'all come back now, y'hear?.
said california is the place we aught to be so they loaded up the truck and moved to beverly
so he packs up the family and moves to Bevelee
YEAH!! That's it, Fran Mag!

CH she is a small cat i doubt she got the right amount of food as a kitten as she was dumped at about 5 weeks old (palm sized)
hi
Who wants to do the honors and contact Dr G?
whos dr g?
Usually courtesy would compel me to wait a bit, but with our recent experiences, I figure we nip it in the bud :)

afternoon everyone
Hello Fordy.
hi fordy
has anyone noticed the popularity of nose gloop in the grids of late?
Yes Rolin i have hi Fordy
i'm too busy seeing it coming out of my nose. hahah.
It's only reflecting real life rolin *sniff* Afternoon all
aaaw...*hands you some eucalyptus oil*
It's nearly as depressing as the popularity of the needle and thread words.
Hi Fm
Hi Haz thanks for reminding me I still have a pile of mending waiting.
You mean you don't just throw it out?
How many TW words please
A somewhat drastic action I think Haz.
Maybe, especially when people will do if for you. Those seamstresses are angels.
hi fm...how r u today?
They never judge. Although what they say behind your back is another thing.
Yah Aussie isnt accepted but an abbreviation of one of our state is.
Hello carlee not too bad thanks. and you? ARe you remembering to look after yourself occasionally?

Can't believe 'contessa' is not an accepted word
OK Mrs Sherlock
Is there just one Tu word
Someone plz chuck me a coupla clues for the 8s.....
I guess it could be worse i guess i could have no babble to do
I didn't even need any torches or blue spray. I just knew....
neither's "cojones"! rubbish
but the pipe definitely does not suit you.
se8, attach to a different military unit, plural. much like 2nd
Is there just one Tu word please
No, no pipe since smoking in the workplace is no longer allowed. And no violin since the neighbours complained and the dog took a fit.
and what about the, er, *cough* poppy products?
co8, bandit animal **** + neck ****
I plead the fifth amendment.
yes, one tu only
thanks
ty joso
yw movie, herin
you can't do that haz, that's american
well I'm off, any last clues?
hi ya nut
hiya carlee coo
I've got international icon status, evanonut, I can do anything.
I say Mrs Nut!! Hello.
nuttie
hmmm...i'll ponder that haz oooooh, MRS nut fernallady
hi nut, bye all *poof*
It's the one thing Paris and I have in common.
ta ta joso
i wouldn'd publicly claim any commonalities with paris
And anyway, why are you up so early?
Er excuse me I would never out you in the same phrase as Paris unless you mean the city.
They're both blonde, FM. *runs off grinning*
But it's as Mrs Sherlock that we share icon status. I can disassociate myself at any time when the argument gets too much.
*put>
strangest thing, my yahoo messenger won't open
Hi Jacs
Hi Jac
Hi Jac
*Waves to FM from safety of the top of the garden.*
Nut I was on messenger earlier and it logged me out and then tried to log me in as someone else
i can't even get the program to open
Jac, come inside its raining :)
No, it isn't. It's lovely here.
my yahoo is open nut
ok...so i'm gonna take a bath and get ready now
Which is not a sentence Queen Victoria would ever have said.
There be strange things afoot in the land of computers..... Heads off towards Jacs house to get some sun.
Nuttie did you upset the pc?
i can't see any sentences in this chat log that Queen Victoria is likely to have said, Haz
pretty sure she never complained about yahoo not working
We are not amused was mine
I'm using the laptop because my stupid new monitor told me it had no signal and was going to sleep. Can't get it to come on again. All I did was leave it alone for about half an hour while I went to the dentist's. I think it's sulking.
It was carlee's statement which was unVictorian like.
Actually Fordy she said Ah you! but it got corrupted over time.
Poor pc
hehe
Lol, FM.
Jac - dramatic pic you have today.
Jac it must not be connected properly
FM - Yes. It was a cloud formation over P's parents' house. Looks like a tornado, doesn't it?
i'm back :)
Yes it does even though it wasn't
hi ata
With Hobbit - you didn't come back alone?
are all the W words 4 long please
madam's back too :) she's already asleep LOL
Well that was a walk and a half Ata or did you get lost?
Fordy - it is. I've checked.
walk and home via Tescos :)
Glad to hear it, Atalante.
Herin - No.
thanks
nope, herin....
whats the longest please?
Did you get Silys bits?
she paddled in the sea, chased a crow, chased a few seagulls, crunched up a few dead crabs ...
Herin - Haven't got them all yet, but I do have a 5/20.
She's getting plenty of roughage in her diet, then.
Ha HA
yes, I did :) at least I got a small pack of food for her, I've ordered a big bag online
barked at a border collie ... made friends with an old man sitting on a bench ...
Phone brb
She didn't sniff out any land-mines left over from the war or anything?
Ata who does Jake the dog belong to a friend or is he yours?
Thanks i cant get any further than We 4
hERIN - Wh, wo, wu...
yah found it
no, no land mines in Herne Bay. She's sniffed some unexploded mortars down at Seasalter though *facepalm*
Sorry. Keep hitting the caps lock on this laptop. Not used to a flat keyboard.:(
Jake was ours, we got him with Hobbit, they came as a pack, but he was run over a few years ago
Aww that is sad Ata he looks like he was a lovely dog albeit a trouble maker by the photos.
i am NOT liking this grid....its NOT fun
That figure, I think it's a very nice grid.
he was a brat! I'm totally convinced he was brain damaged at birth, because he never got the hang of anything - toilet training, sit, lie down, anything! He didnt know his name half the time. So he was haaaard work. But he was a darling!
Got 53 left still poking it
That figures, I should say.
yeap..pretty typical there haz...
I think it's a nice grid, too. I got all but 90 words in about 20 mins.
i have 153 left
39 left here.
Sounds like Liz black lab i saw the chew damage the dog did
lol yes. he ate everything, hoarded everything, growled at everything ... he was a silly little gorgeous boy
he does look like a lovely dog
LOL Hello - Did I hear my name being taken in vain?
whatever we lost - from food to books to towels to *anything* - we'd find it later in jake's basket
No Liz. I was comparing your lovely dog of chewness to Atas past dog
Ata - He sounds like a magpie!
I have a kitty on my foot that is clawing me as she is 'fleaing' herself
Hi Herin I know :) I was lurking deep in the grid. Happened to look up and hey presto there was a mention of me and Mr Chewy!
Liz hes a Lab next question :)
he was! the best one was when he sat all evening on a tupperware box - with no lid on. must have been so painful!
Lol Herin
Ouch!
Ata the cat sat on her hair brush the other day not sure shed do that again in a hurry
Anyway gotta go - really going - not lurking! See you all later!
'Bye, Liz.
my ex-cat used to curl up on my cacti and sleep
Later liz
WHAT??? Cacti??/
My cat has taken to kipping on my desk while i'm on the 'puter!!!!!!
yup! and they were really SPIKY ones too!
MM - A lot do that. a) 'cos it's warm and b) to get in your way.
awes
And also 'cos he's not as young as he used to be, just found out that he's about 40, 41 in cat years....
Kitty is on my foot and its too darn cute
is there 3 Au words?
My cat's napping on the sofa and not on his special green mat on there. He's on P's seat. LOL. I heard P telling him off last night, 'Green, you! Blue, me!'
Oh thats cute Jac
Sily's asleep in her basket right next to my laptop
Not cute, Herin. Cat hairish! I'll have to clean up after him.
i only have 2 herin
I ahve 2 Au
How old are other folks kitties then?
Sily's 2
I use a damp mop on the carpet for the kitty. I think that cats about 10months
MM - My remaining cat is about 5 or 6. Not sure as he was a stray.
all the au's are based on teh car, one is past tense form
my george is 4 and Missy and Kittles are both 10
Thanks for that, inge.
morning inge
Guten Morgen, Babblers. Just got fireworsk
Hi Inge are there just 3 auS?
yes, only 3
thanks inge
Congrats., inge.
Hello all - back for 66
ta
hey there ursh
YW
Hello, ursh.
Hi hursh
opps Ursh
I yawned and added a H
Hi ursh. Have to change my icon, what is the theme?
it's just that i have a book that has a section on telling how old cats really are, it says that 2 year old cats are roughly equivalent to a person in their mid twenties
hi ursh
you mean Silverclaw should be vaguely grown-up? Oh dear
My cats just nuts
i have a conversion chart for cats ages
Movieman - i was always told dogs x 7yrs and cats x 10yrs - in which case my old cat lived for 190yrs
I was always told cats x7, dogs x 5-7
it says the first 6 months is equal to 13 years then it slows down some
my stepbrothers cat would have been 240.
and my dog jsut hit 105! She acts accordingly
my b.fs dog lived to 20
by 2 it is equal to 31 years and then add 3 years for each year after that
the book says that the first year of a cat's life is roughly equivalent to the time a human reaches the first stages of adulthood
Oh good cos then my "chucky" is not yet in his fifties
FMitch will understand. BANG.
in other words, like a human adolescent, a one year old cat looks fairly grown up, and is physically capable of becoming a parent, but lacks emotional maturity
Pardon, Haz?
My oldest is 20....the youngest is 1.
then, the second year of a cat's life takes puss to the first stages of adulthood in humans, a two-year-old cat is roughly equivalent to a person in their mid-twenties
HI Chilley
Back, honestly clients!!
FMitch will know, Jacula.
Haz you been taking my name in vain agaoin?
yah my foot is a pillow
Oh, okay Haz.
Did you have to shoot someonw Haz?
Hi Herin
after the age of two, the 'four equals one' rule works pretty well, a three year old cat being comparable to a person of twenty nine
7.39, you'll understand, Ithink.
well i have hit 41 through sheer determination time to hit morewords
LOL Haz
Hi e1
i didnt think i had that many words in my brain
i Tiny
am i boring everyone?
Lunch time. Bye for now!
bye haz....
Bye Haz and I had better get back to the grind too.
'Bye, Haz.
no mm not at all
A very good morning to all of you :)
NOt me movie i find it interesting
No, mm.
hi mom
hi mom
Hello tiny & Mom.
Hi Carlee, how are things?
Hi Ursh
Hi Jacula
Hi Mom
hi Mom
Hi Herin
Hi Nono
I'd like lunch but my mouth is still numb from the dentist's treatment earlier.
Holly smoke i just realised how many i words i had before i hit more words
oh Jacula, careful not to bite the inside of your cheek. :)
things are.... things mom...
hose
Need five more 7s....have en7 and se7......
I am so sorry
{{Hugs to Carlee}}
its ok mom... its more..family politics then anything right now
there is a co7/8 - earlier clue - animal+what men wear around their necks and plural
Mom - or my tongue as that's numb on one side, too. No, I won't eat yet.
there's an es7, movieman
Ugh, family politics suck
how true, Jacula, luckily it will only last a couple of hours
cflue, fiber?
clue, fiber?
jo7 - plural surname
Carlee i will tell you what i told mr pres about family politics. tell them 'If anyone has anything negative to say or unconstructive, cook me dinner
Mom - Had injection at about 20 past 11. It's 10 to 2 now.:(
Jacula, that is a long time.
movieman, "time is of the es*****"
give it another hour, Jac, and then soup should be safe
ty fiber
I will, Ata.
well...herin..I think I would die of food poisoning if that happened
Oh dear
tx atalante - i needed that one - two more 7's to go
Hands you a cookie
thanks
I need two 7's also
the first co7?
co7 = animal+what a mans wears around his neck
I have that one, ursh, it's the one after the college girl
Oh drat! It's started raining. I was going to plant some bulbs when I'd got one more word (leaving me 30 to find later).
then you can stay for awhile longer, Jacula
ok fiber then thats one i dont have
thanks, anyway
Fiber - same first 3 letters then add building **** or web ****.
thanks, Jacula--I could never have guessed it!
Mom - I'm going to make Baklava and then start preparing a shepherd's pie for later. One more word to find to get me to 30 left though. *Peers at grid.*
I think the same 3 letters + thing in the middle of your face should be accepted too, but enable's never great on science words
yummm, baklava
tx jacula now only 1 7 to find
oohhh... baklawa
Jac, you're a bunny lady, aren't you: http://mfrost.typepad.com/cute_overloa d/2007/10/bunday.html
how do u make urs jacs?
It's a mineral, Fiber.
I have all the 7's!
would someone, please help me with the animal part?
oh cuteoverload
mom - american thief
Will check it out, Ata. (Only got one bunny left now + 6 guineapigs.)
oh yes. VERY cute bunny today
thanks Ursh ... off to look
Davy Crocket wore a co4/4 skin cap
how do you make ur baklawa jacs?
The question is if my friend doesnt collect her dog soon shall i threaten her with dog siting fee?
they eat guinea pigs in ecuador
Aw, sweet bunny!
Jean - I know. Don't type that so loud. My guineas might hear you!
isnt he / she just gorgeous!!
Esprite and you get to pick the one you want to eat too. They are Cavies big arse guiness
carlee - I'm going to do it the greek way since I don't have any rose water to do it the arabic way.
Ata i like the swifer kittie
here too esprit - but then again - poverty - everything is "food"
cavies are different, they are wild; they breed the little ones to eat
me too herin
i thought that they ate the big ones?
yes, but they are two different animals
is everyone vastly excited about the rugby over there, ursh?
Man tiling my bathroom floor - told me he eats vervets and emphasised how tasty it is
the little ones are called "cuy". We saw a "cuyeteria", a restaurant that specialises in serving those little ones
ack
Are Vervets monkeys?
vervet??
yes they are
I am going to bed have to go into hospital tomorrow so good night everyone
Oh dear, our relatives!
saw blue balled vervets in Tanzania, pretty cool
Best of luck tiny
Yes Atalante and a little nervous - my son keeps blaring a song called "Hier kom die Bokke" at full blast
just testing my icon
NOw im thinking monkey brains as a dish
All the best, Tiny.
thanks for the pause
Take care Tiny, hope all goes well
Nice, inge.
it works inge
my uncle and cousins are flying over for the match, goodness knows how they got tickets
Esprit - I have a troop of vervets through my garden on a daily basis and I dont live out in the country - completely urban area
At least the aussies werent beaten by the 'cheese eating surrender monkeys'
ty Herin, Jacula and Mom yes they are going to do tests to decide if they are going to give me a pacemaker
yes ursh, they get bold don't they?
I did tell the tiler to leave my monkeys alone and he laughed and said they are too skinny
Very bold esprit - i regularly have a large male in the kitchen stealing whatever is in the fruit bowl and if empty he opens breadbin and helps himself
well wishes going your way, Tiny
ty
thats not good but funny Ursh
Best of wishes TIny
ty
Good night all
I'll ne thinking of you, Tiny.
my dad had a monkey as a child in africa. It upended the jam and scones on the fine table clothe and took to a tree
I have seen that sort of thing on TV Ursh. Keep your windows closed?
ty
clue for the Se 7 please
*be not 'ne'. Dratted laptop keyboard!
Yes herin - he is very big - so i stand at quite a distance saying "shoo shoo" and he casually strolls out, usually with the whole loaf of bread
I've got 2 x se7 so far, Herin.
i have the time one with a vowel
Too hot here esprit and all doors and windows usually open with security which monkeys can squeeze through

Congrats Ursh !!
Great over here...yourself?
got a busy day over here...wont have much babble-time, im afraid...
WTG Ursh
But babble is essential!
yeah, but my bosses dont seem to understand that!
Perhaps you should introduce them to it, as a motivator :)
any clues for co7 please - the second one
Eva you have to explain that you cant concentrate on work until at least 50% of grid done
I wish my professors understood it...working on my paper is interfering with babble!
good idea Uniquity, get the bosses hooked on babble
Everyone would be happier and the world would be a "better place"
co7 can get it as a compound co4 animal + what men wear around necks
thanks lynxxx - another weird one
yw Flosey
apparently it's a kind of tree !
those Yanks - they make up the weirdest words (but lets not talk about the co5.12 & 6.21)
just watched video - thought at the start - has to be art - who else can pour paint from a 5 litre tin into a flat container and form a perfect circle!!
i have 59 words right now -- does that make it better?
I don't have those lynxxx, are they naughty ones?
err, make that 78 now...heh
Australia bush call for 'where are you' or 'here I am'
There are 14 j words!! Afternoon all.
Hi Chris
have never heard of those Australian bush calls
Flosey - c and 2 sets of dble vowels
thanks lynxxx, trying that
It's raining cats and dogs here

tyvm, lynxx
bye mrp, love you too, take care
bye mrp, sleep well
morning all! anybody have a clue for the je5.30?
morning bb
sorry lynxxx not getting that clue for the se8
Hi bbnaz past tense of the je4.13
hello bb
je 5/30 - sounds slanderous
Chris - after first comes ?????, then add vowel, then plural letter
I agree flosey
JE5,30= TO TRY TO TALK SOMEONE DOWN ON A PRICE
thank you so much. why am i not surprised?!
ok so I'm not yet up to speed yet lynxxx!! thx
doesn't it though!
nasty slang Luv
no nastier than that lousy "c" word that crops up every so often............
I actually think it is believe or not
for me the c one offends every woman........or should
but i know a lot of brits who don't find it offensive so maybe it is cultural. and mind you i don't like the 5.30 either
and then we have the co4.5 which equally offends
agree - but those words are crude
i think the c word is offensive, but not sure about the j5
ah now that is dating oneself. don't believe that i hear that as a derogatory word in a long time although pre mid 60s yes it was
here in us
right bb, I haven't heard it in many years
perhaps since we've become more multicultural
Obviously I don't know but there has been a strong reaction in babble chat to it in the past
am still here??
We see you Mr P
yes mrp, still seeing you
poor MRP - yes, we can still see you
hello MRP.
are you receiving our chats mrp?
i have been sending messages from the other side :(( I can't see my chat
Good morning all... I just noticed that J word, and I am furious... what if we used a cultural slam in an adverbial or adjectival form, as in: moslemized? Bah! Buddhism teaches me to accept that which I cannot effect any change, but this tips my patience.
right Scarlet
Thank you, dear flosey.
Hi Scarlet, as you can see by the chat we are also offended
I never would have even tried it because i am so used to slang or trash words not being included
The J. surprises me
Scarlet, you were going to post a recipe, did I miss it?
I can see that lynxxx... funny how the cruder forms of language, though offensive, can be accepted as part of the venacular, but THIS one really rankles me.
Its been in before (unfortnately) which is why I knew it Uniquity.
I have been lax, flosey. I will do that today, I promise... there has been much fuss and ado here in the old homestead lately! But, I promised you and I will keep my word.
will watch for it - am going to Toronto tomorrow for 3 weeks, won't always be able to babble
but if you leave it in your bio, I'll get it when I can
Then, I will look for your e-mail address... is it in your bio, flosey?
will put it in right now
Okay, LOL... we crossed posts. I will do that, then, flosey!
Thank you.
Morning, cats and kittens. I protest! The word "Aussie" is not accepted.
Hey, Jude!
it's in now Scarlet
Hi Judy. but you can have ta6.18 and co5.12 instead
Thank you, flosey. Will do! :-)
see you all later. off to move horses to the show grounds and hopefully done in time to come and finish the remaining 115.
and I thank you
bye bbnaz - obviously no horse flu there
bye bb, see you later
nope. but being in the desert, it isn't much of an issue. (knocks on wood, flings salt over shoulder)
hi ho silver away!.................
and make sure the horseshoe is hung the right way up - bye!
Who was that masked woman?
could i have some clues for the 7s 8s please
can I be seen yet??
yes mrp, we're seeing you
Coming in clear as a bell, Mr. P!
co6.21 MRP
I can see you mrpresident.
jestate
oh thank you! have been off the air for ages! glad to be back
Hi Haz
You're here, mrp. Good morning, Haz. How are you feeling now?
CoolG se6.24 after first, add vowel 7.36, plural 8.50
Hello all - good morning/afternoon/evening etc.
hi haz
A proper hello then MRP - whew!
this has been a battle today... internet has been down intermittently... thought I might be talking to myself most of the time :)
Hello Scarlet, how are you?
you get more sense that way, i find, mrp
thankyou
and here I go again... can't see my chat entry. Oh well :(
eden
I am well, Haz, and trying to calm my anger down to a manageable roar, right now... How are you feeling? Did you conquer the bug that was giving you some trouble?
are you ok scarlet?? what has happened?? (i can't see my own entry sorry)
I still know I have a throat, so that means it's not quite gone away yet. No other symptoms so I just have to wait for things to get better.
hi all been a long time!
CoolG co7.32 & 8.45 c04.5 US animal with mask + what men have around their necks
mrpresident, it's a bit of, perhaps, overreaction to the use of the word "jewed" in this grid... I can take the gutter terms much better than I can handle the cultural offensiveness in any case.
Hi Lynn
hi lynxx
Well, then you are in the upgrading stage right now, Haz... glad to hear that. I understand that the medical people in the U.S.A. are strongly urging influenze vaccinations this year due to the mutation of the H5 that has developed over the last three years.
it is abit much! I agree... can't see why it be used in any context really
Hi, Lynn!
hi scarlet
How can they allow "jewed" and not allow "Aussie". One's just as much a slang term as the other. Albeit one is derogatory and one isn't.
no Judi, one is slang but the other is slander
I know that we are using that word in chat, but, botheration! it's a baddie. Good distinction, flosey, and I agree.
*influenza*
me too
yes, slander is something that 'this' dictionary loves
how many words today, felow babblers?
213 GoBraves
Maybe Dr_God should issue a disclaimer taking no responsiblility for the words contained within the grid.
213 GoBraves - Hi
Alas, not all words are babblicious.
I don't blame Dr_God, Haz, but it
it's the chance we take as Babblers to have our wires touched off by something. I am an adult, albeit an annoyed one right now... I'll get over it eventually... this case, not the root cause of the anger.
scarlet:whats up, i just looked up
hi all! just sneaking in for a quick hello! {{{{mr. P}}} how are you dear?
babble babble babble
Hi, bfsog... it's a language pique.
thanks guys
morning TO
I have a meeting in 5, just wanted to say hi
Hi, GoBraves!
Hi, redshoes and TO!
hey shoes!
hiya scarlet - how about the rockies, can you believe it?
Hi RedShoes & TOwl !!
GO ROCKIES!!!
hi owl!!! ((((hugs))))! am doing ok! still recovering from surgery, but happy to be home! :))
(sorry had to jump in on that one) - Hi Everyone!
cast off?
hmmm... towl... never thought of that before... nice.
clue for si6/18 please?
hello, what's our theme today?
yes, go tockies!
The Rocks are just an amazing, talented bunch of kids this year, and I haven't minded watching the games until 2 a.m.!
i mean rockies, lol
flosey - a little nap in the afternoon
si6/18 - take a nice rest in the afternoon, Spanish style
hey, this puzzzle won't allow "aussie" but it will allow "swe*e" - what gives?
sw5 is also a name for a vegetable.
right gobraves, another oddity
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
TY Haz
oh, never heard of it, what is it like Haz
what kind of veg is that haz?
hey shoes was going to see cheryl wheeler and kenny white sunday...saw steve earle friday!
Lol, GoBraves. Read back in the chat. Don't get Scarlet started again
It's like turnip, but a paler colour.
a revolting one!
LOL, Judi/
I have a family get together
It's the sort of vegetable whose cooking smell does NOT bring joy to the heart of the child.
thanks Haz
yuck
now MRP? its 1.00 am!
but I love turnip
must go put the lot of them to bed! love to you all!! must get the kids out of the bed!
with lots of butter
bye, mr. p!
Good night, mrp! Sweet dreams.
Turnip - now there's an offensive word.
bye for now mrp
turnip, swede, parsnip, yuck!
am sorry that I can't see my imput. will see you all tomorrow :)
bye MRP
Bye mrpresident, sleep well.
I like them with tons of butter, salt and a panko-crumb crust with crushed almonds.
me too Scarlet,
Love Steve Earl!!! First saw him when he hopped up on stage at a Buddy and Julie Miller show. So did Emmylou Harris. SUCH a great show. =)
Anything to make them not taste like turnip. Yeah, sounds great. Blech.
clue for si6/18 please?
I boil them with a good dose of brown sugar and an orange peel to take the edge off the acidity... they are good!
turnips should fall off the proverbial turnip truck, and not be picked up....one man's opinion
well all of the concert broadcasts are on podcast at wxpn.org or NPR. he brought his wife allison moorer with him, is she gorgeous
nice!
LOL, Go...at least you like the Rockies... Asheville is going nutzo over their parent team!
si6: afternoon nap south of the border.
si6.18 a spanish nap (TY Haz)
ah, thanks Judi
It's wierd, but I now firmly believe they are destined to win the whole thing.....
There ARE teams of destiny, and we're seeing one now... and Clint Hurdle is quite the manager!
well there's also the red sox, now that the bambino curse is over, who knows!
ok... off to my meeting. later peoples!
I just think it's neat when the WS is actually within driving distance of my home! Denver is a mere 16 hours away!
bye RedShoes
The Sox are slipping right now, and the Indians are a powerhouse of youngsters who don't know what they can't do... should be interesting... Remember the 2004 season when Boston defied the rules and won it all... improbable and historical!
there's the scottish lake monster, 3 days in a row
I am okay with Cleveland winning too, actually, they haven't won since 1954....
bye shoes bye all!
Bye TO.
one of my life regrets will be that i went to bed before the 7-run inning....
Bye, TO!
I haven't gotten over game 6 in 1986 yet
by TOwl
I like to see some good teams go the distance, Go... so, as long as the Big Dance is real sportsmanship and talent, I'm on board... Fie on the Mets and Yanks.
unfortunately i did NOT go to bed during that game!
Harp, that was my dream World Series... Have loved the Mets since they were born in 1962, but Billy Buckner's whoopsie is now part of the annals of lore...
Fireworks
LOL, jane
i am still here, scar!
Congratulations, flosey!!
Congratulations flosey.
Congrats Flosey
Hi there, TO! So good to see you.
now must go - have errands to run, some washing before I can complete packing, leave on early ferry tomorrow
no need to fie on yanks. they were not good enough this year. that's that.
may get a chance to babble while in Toronto
unfortunately I was NOT a mets fan, i'm pretty fickle but that year i was rooting for the Red Sox
Enjoy your vacation, flosey. Will post the recipe!
I can remember exactly where I was when Bob Stanley threw that wild pitch....
thanks, did you get my address?
bye flosay and enjoy your trip
Exactly, TO. That's why the unknowns are so much fun to see.
good morning everyone...
Yes, I did, flosey.
bye Flosey - and everyone else, goodnite from here
Hello, nan.
i don't believe in the wild card.
goodnight lynxxx
not to mention that I am offended by the name "indians"
i mean, that would be like naming a team "the Pittsburgh Africans"\
Thought for today- If WalMart keeps rolling back prices, why isn't anything free yet?
I hate many of the "innovations" in the game... hate Astroturf, hate the designated hitter in the AL, hate the divisional breakdown... wow, I'm just a cranky old lady this morning... LOL
lol nan
*snicker* good one
Thanks for the smile in my day nan!
i will write that on our bboard in the meeting room
LOL, nan.
HATE the DL. but as our new interns pointed out about those topics, they only know the game with them.
*throws Midol at Scarlet and cowers in corner*
LOL, Judi... Right, TO... but I have to accept the game's de-volution also.
*lights aromatherapy candles and inserts wave sound cd* Deeeeep breaths, Scarlet.
done
Wow, TO! Well done and congratulations!
sa5?
Nice scent, Judi... is it patchouli?
no, no...i used the wrong box not done!
sa5 - sa plus Biblical wrongdoing
Vanillaaaaaaah.
Thank you, Haz. That is a new one to me.
And to me as well, Scarlet.
Okay then, TO... you have an attagirl when you DO finish!
thanks, off to work with me now!
Later, harpjane!
Bye harpjane.
bye jane. and bye for real - must go get lunch and bring back, set up for post lunch conference. later!
Tata, TO.
Hi - can anyone get me started on the as words plz?
as6/18 - to give permission or agreement
as 6: give permission
as5/10 - something worthy or of value
as 5: not a detriment
anyone got a clue for the co 7's and 8?
funny I just couldn't see the pattern for that one at all. ty so much.
co7 - add a gent's item of neckwear to the end of a co4/5.
wow, Rocky dresses up!
ty haz
do I assume the other co 7 is a plural?
You're welcome, cybernan.
I protest! "The Barefoot co8/45" is not in the puzzle. I am sure I am not first to see this.
down to 34 -- time for the list, I guess
hello there nan
hi eva
Others have protested, buco.
protesting may be cathartic even if futile
i protest that "cojones" is not allowed
i protest along with owl
Not even one cojone?
Already protested.
where do I sign the protest list?
There are many words under protest today.
find who ever has the most cojones to hold it cherry
I protest that protests are futile even if cathartic
what is the def. for cojones -- never heard the word before
I protest that Al Sharpton is allowed to speak publicly.
Those who protested can explain.
gonads, balls, guts
lol
Testicular fortitude.
Thanks for my laugh of the day Judi
it won't accept gonads either
I am thrilled that Americans like Sharpton have freedom to speak
Oh, I support the 1st Amendment, BR. I just can't stand Rev. Al.
I agree with BabbleRabble. But I would say that I am thrilled that all
babblecast continues to slip in the rankins, has everyone voted?
Americans should have the right to speak
Way to insert a pregnant pause to the chat Babblerabble! lol
I have voted. I can do no more.
I hit the wrong key. lol
anyone else?
I have had a rough morning today. I called someone and idiot and was called an idiot on national radio this morning. LOL
oh nice tuco!
Turnabout is "air" play.
I wish I could apologize. I was upset.
lol Judi
fims is a common disease tuco.
? fims ?
see I am an idiot
oh got it
foot in m outh
Foot In Mouth Syndrome
I have been told to only open my mouth to change feet
LOL
So, what's the equivalent in typing terms?
mornin' kids
Fish fingers?
fumble fingers!
Sending an email bad mouthing your spouse accidentaly to your spouse instead of your "friend"
Ewwww. Major faux pas, tuco.
what's wrong with coos? -- sounds doves make -- scots cows -- sounds silly adults make to babies
oh sh&t tuco!
Just try stretching that o over to the s. cybernan. It won't go.
not on my grid cyb (tried it)
that's a rather de**** faux pas
-- and I'm blind too!
Not to worry, cybernan.
wooden should be on the list too-I see it every time
I must away with the dog. Bye for now.
by haz
bye haz -- thanks for the help
You're welcome - bye!
thus
oops
Every one have a good one-see ya!

I managed to get half this morning without the list, going with the list for the other 100 :-)
emeril's favorite thing for cooking
How about you diem?
"Okay, so I know what a snot is, but how do I lead one into temptation?"

grant add a vowel to the womans name
Hi diem
Past tense of Shylock, who is a ***
Sorry i clued the 5/20
Thanks anyway. Got it from uniquity. Nasty word.
It is a point of controversy today
what is? that it's in enable?
Portia knew it, you think?
hmm...not a nice word at all..the definition is quite offensive really
I have never heard it before Hi rolin
hey caitlyn
true
had to find it first and then look up the meaning, honestly it's amazing some of the words it accepts and the other it rejects.
I usually am most amazed when there are re- or un- words in the grid.
very hard to tell which ones it'll accept and which it won't
I still can't get over co 4/5 is allowed and have to put it in at home in case someone sees it at work
the co4/5 has a common, inoffensive use. at least here
if I'm thinking of the one you are
Is not a very nice word here Taku
We don't have the animal it's a shortened version of so it is very offensive over here
I had no clue what people were talking about when i read it. Had to look it up.
it has an offensive use here, too
Just an animal to me.
it's just much less common than the inoffensive one
heh, I was looking at cats to adopt, yesterday, and searched on Maine co4/5 to find a breed I like ;)
But the word I really hate is the cu4/5 that pops up at times
that's another one I have to type at home, I was in shock the first time it was allowed, it came up recently. It is sooooo the banded word in our house
could i have a clue 4 the es8 please
Time for me to get back to work -- good luck all!
bye taku
bye Taku
Es8 anding sounds like obvious, common *****

Hi all
Hi peri
Hi, peri.
Hi peri
There are two, NJ
The co is one. Haven't got the other yet.

22 N words? gah. I stink at N words...
They're not too bad, redshoes.
Hi red..they are okay n words..really!!
well, I have 7 so far. But I really do stink at N words.
The worst one for me was the no6/21
The blessed little four-letter ones bring me to my knees all the time, red.
hmmmm 61 words in and I actually don't have any words larger than 5 letters. heh. bah.
oh.. there we go. one 6-letter. heh
Yeah for red!!
clue for that no6/21, caitlyn?
Mayber Elmer Fudd would like an "oweo"
Mary..I havnt got any small American coin
what's that song? o-we-o... oh ohhhhh oh.
:-)
thanks cait!
ty, should have seen that one
that led me to a de6, too! yay!
LOL YW..I have been waiting to clue that one!
Good one, cait.
Oh, mutter... must do some grocery shopping... an errand I am not fond of doing... Well, I'll just have to hitch up my jeans and take it like a woman! See you soon, I hope. Thank you for the help, cait. Hope you're here when I return!
I really want 'ethos" to be in this grid.
So did I, red.
Later Red!
hehehe... we're both red. =)
Later, red!! LOL
Thanks to kattie-brattie!
Bye Scarlet..I HATE SHOPPING!!! See you soon
Mr. B are you there?
s
Thank goodness I am not the only woman on this planet who hates it. Yippee to sister Cait!! \
i hate shopping too!
Hi, grannymaxxx. Love you *Hugs and kisses, dear*
Yahoo for Wyrd. We are a larger contingent than I thought!!
I end up at the grocery several times a week bc I only buy what I want right then. ha. I'm horrible at buying everything at once. Guess I should start making lists again. It's easier to buy a little at a time when it's just me. Means I waste less. =)
I only go once a week and do the lot...
Hi granny
when I do that, I always end up buying things I never eat. Means wasted food and money. Plus, I get to eat at work a lot, so I don't need to buy as much. =)
I have it down to about once every three weeks, except for eggs and bread/milk... I still do not like it, but I love to cook... go figure that one out.
well i like to cook too, and if i DO shop i either go very early or very late
Scarlet I am known for being in a bad temper after doing it...pushed,nothing where you think it is supposed to be and then having tp wait to pay for it..and you come home and theres nothing for supper!!
Fortunately, some of the main grocers here are open 24/7, but the meat selection suffers during the twilight hours...
LOL, cait... I can feel some empathy. I just get drained because the store is so large and the floors are very hard...
hello all!
There is only my beloved and me at home but grandchildren nag me to make their favourites so i have to get more
Hi, stid! 'Bye stid... unless you want to go grocery shopping for me!
(((((((stid)))))))))) How are you?
hi stid
LOL no thanks scarlet... have to go out later for that!
We all sound so underwhelmed when it comes to that choree... see you later !
*offers chocolate to everyone* I make a point of getting some chocolate every time I have to go shopping. My reward for being responsible...
Have fun Scarlet..see you soon
Sound idea.. I think some Lindor Truffles are in order. It's STID's fault everyone!!!
I just got back from the doctor's office. Kid is home sick AGAIN with tummy upsets. Doc had same idea (low grade appendicitis) but it wasn't bad enough to be alarming. So home we came again.
Mmmmmm lovely stid..thank you
Tomorrow he goes in the morning to have the long cast removed, x-rays taken and (hopefully) a short cast put on with no surgery needed.
darn, ruined my chocolate appetite munching on croutons
poor shawnee! maybe you can save some for later?
most definitely!! hope your lil man does well tomorrow.
I suspect he will... not so little now though... 5'5 1/4 today! LOL (I am 5'3.5"
mine is just at 5', so has 9 more to go to catch Mom. thinks he's big though, can see the top of the fridge.
*grin* I told the kid HE gets to change light bulbs from now on (I hate ladders and step stools)
LOL - I'm 5/3 - mine is 6'.
stid you have had quite a year!
I'm sure mine will be towering over me before it is over
I think this one will get to 6+, the other won't be as tall as I am. The usual family heritage stuff, one side of the family is short, the other tall.
co7,32?
yes caitlyn, it has been challenging. Hoping next year will be a bit smoother...
oh the first one.
or both
Mine is he is 6 /4
I don't have any co 7 yet
When I was a kid there was a game you plaed where you put together a bug, co 7/37 is that with an extra cononsonant after the double vowell
ohh lovely spelling - bonus points if you can figure out what I said....
wow cadfan -- great clue!
Fingers crossed for you and your family stid that 2008 will be better for you
LOL Cad
for all of us, I hope caitlyn -- you've had a bit of it too I think?
Yes but try not to dwell on it..there are a lot of people a hell of a lot worse of than me
Why thank you! I too hope for you a better 2008 (and for my family one as well!)
Sorry for a mild swear word there!
thank you Cad, do you have the first co7,32 too?
I wonder if people here are more open about the things that aren't perfect? seems so often the folks I know in person say everything is fine... but here we share rather freely.
That's the only co 7/32 I have
The anonymity of this place make it easier to share I think
*grin* ironic, isn't it? because we are more open to share we know each other better!
I think that is what makes our community a good one..we talk openly
Hi all, back to find my last 45
hello peri
Did you have a nice few minutes peri?
I still think the world's problems could be solved if people were more like the folks here... minus the trolls of course!
hi peri!
Here Here stid!!
I haven't been on in a few days, have there been many trolls lurking about?
there were some on Friday I think? but I haven't seen any since.
of course, I am not on as regularly as I used to be...
Oh yes Shawnee at the end of lat week and they tried again on monday morning even though their teacher was on line at the same time
oh no, they didn't! *astonished look* and I missed it. *disappointed look*
I thought I read that we had a teacher amongst us, had no idea poor thing had such trollups for students
Dont be stid they were just as vile as they could be
we have many teachers actually, though most don't tell their students (maybe now we know why?)
I think I need a bit more schooling, this grid is kicking my tail today. heehee
Sadly the teacher made a mistake and told a couple about the site thinking it would help their English..all it did was to teach me some extra words!
yep. they were vulgar on Friday too. I suspect they won't be sitting down again for a while... (or wouldn't if I were there parents)
YIPPEE!!! past halfway!
I contacted the school as well but after all these days still havent had a reply ..what a suprise!
my son occasionally peeks over my shoulder, he loves this game, glad he isn't around when they are on. he longs for a Jr. version of the grids
Yeah for stid!
My kids play occasionally with their own logins, but they are not supposed to be here if I am not.
I can't believe a school would let something like that slide. Somewhere in the UK I take it?
No stid..Canada
hmph. Canadians are usually better behaved than that.
(not that I expect UK folk to be any less, just more experience with Canadians)
I only popped in for 10 mins 2 hours ago..Better go and get supper on...see you all soon..bye
some just don't raise them like they used to, no matter what land one hails from
LOL see you soon caitlyn! {{{{hugs}}}}
bye caitlyn

i normally start using clues around halfway when i start getting stuck - just realised i got there ages ago, i was thinking "words left" were the number i had! brain broken y'see :P
ne6/30 -- most recent
Thanks Jilli
hi all
yw
hi jill
lol fordy!
the first to5,12 please
68 left here and I think I've found most of the "normal" words ;)
like a john wayne movie but with a t
clued recently, bubba -- 2ooo lbs + not off
that's 2000, duh
Thanks, that finishes the grid!!!
YAY bubba!!!
congrats bubba
oh, the "ed" ending is giving me a few more "normals"
brb
can anyone help me and clue some 7 letter wordss...i have..se 36 and co 32
NJ there's another se7/36
jo7/48 plural of the jo5/20
thanks
plural of en6/24
es 7 please?
es=the name of a magazine
ermm.. blah I dont get it still
en6/24 and plural are my last two words cant find them lol
add onto co4/6 and plural
es=a scent
thanks! got it that time
I wish that the racially offensive words which occasionally appear could be "redacted" from the word list. eg je 4/13
hi again, back for a few more...
i don't think that's offensive in itself
speaking of J words... JE 5/30 please? also both JO 5s...
When it's used as a verb it is offensive
i only heard of it used as a verb the other day, and yes that would be offensive
If it's used as a noun it's capitalized
why is the je4/13 racially offensive?
i don't get it
first jo5 is a surname
it's simply descriptive
*fishbop* thanks fordy
I had the 7... LOL
that's ghey
hahah :)
I agree kakamolaka (is that name hawaiian?)
second jo5...add a 3 letter word for married
hi, clue pls for je5, 30
hello dear Jill. wanna come sit on the kid so I can get some work done around here?
kakamolaka -- a huge issue for a chat but you might check the babble dictioanry for it's definition
nope... just a play on my knickname (cover your ears! it's etymology is naughty!!!) which is KAKA which is a take on CACA, which means poop
cuz i'm a little "shit" --> yes people. i said it. OMG! Run to the hills!
oh, I see, capitalised it's descrptive of a person who is je*ish, but not capitalised it's a derogatory verb
*sets yellow alert and keeps watching for clues*
well, kaka, I almost called you that -- oh wait, I just did ;)
i don't care what an internet dictionary defines that word as - I'm a real person in the real world. and i just wanna finish this damn puzzle
stop whining
i'm jewish and i'm not offended.
hey, kaka, who's whining?
who was whining?
well, to be fair - probably just ME and the person who brought it up as something they wished to be removed from the puzzle.
heh
oh by the way...hello all! :o)
i'll step down, now
hi! clue pls for je5, 30?
evening nonnie
hi nonnie
hi nonnie
*waiting for emusing's clue to appear*
and emusing
hiya stid, fordy and jill!
i'm working on that one :P
past tense of possibly offensive je4
lol
hi, everyone! i am trying to finish my last 34 words befroe going back to work
ah, ty book and hiya emusing
*sigh* thanks bookgrrl
well, that is an offensive term, the je5
okay, so is the JO 5/30 similarly fishy?
just change the first vowel, stid
thanks, bookgirl
thanks bookgrrl *munching on raw tuna*
different vowel, stid
well at least that center tile is dark now! LOL
I need the third jo4/9...
105 words enough!!Good night folks
nighty night, bill
{{bill}} see you next time!
night billm
third jo 4 is short man's name, fella who fought the battle of jericho?
um, that was the second jo 4, sorry jill. third is quickly writes down
sorry, had that -- meant the third je4/9
je 4/9 #3 ,short form of progenitor of israel?
hello all - the 1st de 6/24 pls
also means (I think) the leather leashes for a hawk
first de 6/24 is the act of fooling someone on purpose
holy crow -- not a "normal", then!
got it thanks
down to 24, and all S words...
twenty... this is a long tough slog today
still baffled by the je4/9 -- not really up on Israel or falconry
hello everybody
hi liz
hi liz!
Hi Jilli, Hi S'mama !
hm. Jill, have you heard of a je**e tree? like a family tree? or the je**es that hold a hawk on a trainer's hand?
I love the garden on your icon Stidmama
***FIREWORKS***
No, stid!
thanks liz, me too. wish I knew how to visit it! (might have to make one for myself...)
YAY deb!!!
YAY deb!

Its the moon gate that I love really - wish I had a big enough garden!
etg Deb
*grin* you n' me both liz!
:))
ah, ty stid *reaches over for raw tuna*
*hands large chunk of Chum to Jill*
they're running a bit now you know!
If you had told me to kick off the rear eand of Mr James I might have got it sooner
theres never going to be 213 words in this grid! I dont believe it!
Js defeated now, ty
*wide-eyed innocent look* Mr. James? (that would never have worked for me)
okay, need help on the SA 5. no monkeys working this corner of the grid today
ok, back to the top *accepting the chum with pleasure and putting it in reserve* -- as5/10?
no cojones!
Jill, money, gold, land -- the things on the left side of the balance sheet
as 5/10 Your mind is your greatest as***
sorry S'mama I dont have the sa
I discovered that absence too, lideola
LOL speaking for self of course, lideola? ;-)
oh most definitely i am cojoneless
except when husband is home from work
oh liz -- that clue doesn't apply to Jill... *ducks flying chum*
I just KNEW there was something fishy about that as5! Thanks
rofl
LOL well it certainly doesnt apply to me LOL
got that sa 5... like the end of a hired killer
dare I ask for au6/24?
down to 5, and they are the long SE words...
ty S'mama - I never heard that one before
past tense car jill?
ty stid, and for the sa -- unwords IMHO
stid, some of the long se words are variations of not first
oh man jill, pass back the fish... *typing furiously*
FIREWORDS!!!!
how did I miss those - ty Jilli
wtg Stidmama
finally, FIREWORKS
YAY stiddy!!! *takes fish back*
YAY luv!
YAY luv!!!
heres a silly thing - I just got off my running machine before coming in here ... so why is it that its my hands that are hurting???
were you gripping the balance bar too tightly liz?
I do that sometimes...
Jill, do you want the se 6/7 before the after first ones?
oh maybe - hadn't thought of that!
anyone need clues?
hi mkg!
hey stid
well, I need to eat something today. Got up and took kid to doc and haven't wanted to eat in front of him. Now that it looks like he is keeping the rice down, I think I shall consume a bit myself.
aww I hope he's ok?
got to go all. later i will be back to clue if anyone needs it.
(more than you wanted to know, I am sure) yes, I think he will be fine. Thought it might be appendicitis, but if it is, seems to be resolving on its own. Doc says watch and wait. thanks liz
no thanks, stid, got those but I'm missing a bunch after the fishing net or Paris river
later mkg
give him a gentle hug from me
jill -- spanish 6 and the extended form?
oh stid! which kid?
#2 again of course! *sigh*
kid hugged, thanks liz
he goes to get the long cast off tomorrow jill -- hoping the xrays will indicate good healing and no need for surgery.
Get yourself something tasty to eat Stid - hide in a cupboard and get it down you! You gotta keep your own health good too
aw, pauvre petit! Big smooch on cheek from me
LOL *hiding in cupboard and stuffing face avec chocolat*
I will Jill -- see you later I hope! *poof*
oooo share!!!! lol
Hey Jilli! Just saw a photo of you on Stid's flickr page
liz, there are others on my flickr here -- keep going. I wish I knew how to rearrange them
I'm not much good with flickr - I always used photobucket before I became a babbler!
is the od6 related to the the od5?
oh wow! Do you still breed great danes?
sorry- just saw it- i wen the other direction with the od
od6 is pl of od5
ty bub
no, liz, not for years, sadly. I miss them but just don't have the right setup or any help now
aw thats a shame. I've always had dogs - never a Dane though. Theres a beautiful harlequin on the island though - so gentle
sweet and gentle -- there is nothing like a dane....
Much as I adore my current labrador one thing you could never call him is gentle LOL
liz, your icon is hilarious!
LOL! Have you found them for me then?
and your dogs are lovely
too busy searching for mine, liz!
I lost my lovely old cocker spaniel in September Jill - so very heartbreaking. She was only ten but had always suffered with health problems. I still have my lunatic labrador Oscar though .
C words defeated!
oh well done! I'm still missing a few co's
think I may have to give in tonight. My hand is really hurting and its hard to type
Do you still have Sasha? It's so hard to lose a canine friend.
No and she was the biggest heartbreak of all. She was my heart and soul. She died when she was only two years old - that will be almost 8 years ago now
Oh dear, Liz!
Not a day goes by when I dont feel her by my side
Hey, my eyes are getting very wet, liz
We're thinking of taking on a new puppy next summer maybe though :)
good idea, liz
i need some co help
the bigguns
:)
Lid? Silly question - whats cowbell?
co7 & 8 -- add a cravat the the co4/5 and pl
oh silly word
I was wondering that too, liz
ty... do you have the other 7/32?
LOL
yep, lideola -- just thinking up a clue
its a skit from Saturday night live that has become a cult classic- you can find it online- its Christopher Walken being the producer of the Blue Oyster Cult song "Don't Fear the Reaper"
it has Will Ferrell in it too
co7/32 -- take the female student before it, remove her tail end, add a place (si4)
ah ty
playing the cowbell with his stomach hanging out! LOL
i will try it
ahhhhh..... I'm obviously not a cult classic type of person LOL
ty
its a pretty entertaining bit
liz, your cocker pix are soooo adorable!
thank you. She was a bit of a fluff ball after she was spayed! Very cuddly.
My blonde cocker Lady was my angel girl--also had many health problems . . .
I seem to have come at the right time for a cocker love session
Really? Poor Scully was blind - born that way, had hip dysplasia and had kidney problems too.
hey, ata :-)
As always Ata! Jill and I have been talking dogs :)
goodmorning everyone
Une I ussed to call my black cocker girl my Angel :)
Hiya Lynxxx
Lady went blind, then lost her hearing as well . . . and had to have one kidney removed . . .
ahhhhh anyone need any clues?
Congrats Lideola
ty
Good job we love them hey?
wah, is this what I've got to look forward to with Hobbit? though I think the working strains are a bit hardier, aren't they?
absolutely! Saturday I helped with Dog Day in the Park, an annual Humane Assn fundraiser, and got to love on LOTS of adorable dogs!
Liddy -- does that offer mean you've finished?
Usually yes Ata - both mine came from a dodgy breeder - of course we didn't know that till later...
yes : )
Lideola, we have something in common, I too am a Mel. survivor. Its great isn't it!
yes, it is wonderful
YAY Liddy!!!
; )
Big hugs for Lid and Lynxxx
35 left here -- must go get lunch and do errands -- back later -- ttfn
bye Jilli
later, jillibus!
I'm going now - back tomorrow. Have fun all. Thanks for all the lovely conversations tonight everyone.
bye Liz !
bye Jill
very scarey going through it though- you think "No big deal, its just skin cancer", then you sit down with the doctor and, although optimistic, give you the scarey statistics and just how gravely serious it is
bye, Liz
Night Liz, and give Oscar a scrunch
I will Jill - if he gets off my feet to let me move!
congrats to you lynxxx, always happy to meet another survivor
Lideola, what are you talking about? I missed something dire?
bye all *poof*
lynxxx and i both have/had melanoma
Oh, awful! Hope it's been caught quickly!
i was very fortunate in many respects, it was caught early, no spread to any lymph nodes and I live 10 minutes from one of the top cancer treatment hospitals in the US
How long ago, Lideola? And how long ago was Lynxx's?
but i have an awful yucky scar that goes straight across my neck... makes me look a bit roguish, if a lady can look roguish
my tx's/surgery were last year, April of 2006
better a roguish scar than the alternative, Liddy
I battled mine for about 3 years, but haven't had any 'activity' for about 6 years now...it spread to lymph nodes in abdomen. Mine didn't start out with a 'nornal' typ e obvious skin issue. I have the best most wonderful doctors in melbourne looking after me - still.
i make up different stories when people have the guts to ask me about the scar... bar fight, shark attack, etc
Well, good luck to both of you.
my son wanted to see my icon
I had a (benign) lump removed from my back a few months ago. The scar looks like I've been stabbed. Much more interesting story
oh lynxxx, you've had a tougher time than me. I actually have my followup this week. Good luck to you and remaining free... i am sure you have a whole closet full of long sleeved clothing and SPF
ty jilli
I can't wear a bikini now - lol - my scar/s reach from navel to half way down leg - attractive depressions in thigh - but frankly who gives a damn - I have life!!!
SPF?
sunscreen- Sun Protection Factor
off to work- see you all tomorrow!
Oh, of course! I can't wear a bikini either -- disgusting overweight saggy shape now, and I used to be otherwise :( Scars and things too, from breast and colon cancer (all ok now)
bye Lideola !
Bye Liddy!
Now I MUST have lunch! Back later
bye again Jilli - enjoy
I must be off too - bye anyone who around

Its an issue that i have been talking to her about and one that I am not going to continue on chat like gossip at the office cooler. Im not meaning to be rude its just awkard
That is great to hear, herin. I hope, and I am laying no blame here, that future teachers signing up will think twice about giving their students the site--if for no other reason than to maintain a boundary in their lives.
Enjoy, nrkii!!!!!
stupid commercial. "the salespeople were so welcoming, they made us feel at home". well if salespeople were cold and repelling, the business wouldn't last long, would it!
She did put her teachers hat on at all times
Oh, sorry, herin. I just wanted to make sure her situation had been/is being sorted out.
Hurshy what ad is that for?
Oh, I know she did. But teachers have no control outside of their classrooms.

Hurshy the best ma tress one i heard was ' get laid comfortably' or something equally dodgy
LOLO, hursh

sorry have been burried in the grid
yes, ren, i do
she is 13!
night Ren, tucks the covers up. Night Pam
is that her foto in your bio?
that is old for a dog
yes, that is China. She has had lymphoma--a rare kind--since December '05, has survived mast cell cancer twice, and is just great. Too bad my relationship crashed and burned as I hate the joint custody thing
DOne
do you have to share custody of a dog?
congrats herin
seriously? a joint custody for the puppster? good to hear she's doing good!
yayayya herin!!!!!!
if I didn't share her, how would we see her?
yay, herin!
oh - i thought you had custody of her.
well next time don't give her back
reminds me of legally blonde
Oh, no. ren. We share. I can't do that, tim. Even though my ex- and her new pal cheated on me, and even though the other woman was a supposed friend, I could never do that. We both love China too much to not see her....
serve papers of haboius corpus
that is very adult of you pam:)
The other woman, though, is not welcome in my space. She has never acknowledged what she has done...
Thanks, tim!
must go
i understand pam - you have a good heart!
ciao, herin
later herin

yw :-)
right in front of me:)
i meant that about the other woman pam btw
sorry, i got caught up in LAink... let me go back and read
I sort of believe in it--want to see the karma kick ass, LOL
hehe
I think that my ex- is having a mid-life crisis, and she doesn't seem too happy now. And, she is not liking the consequences of her actions; at 42, one knows better than to be a cheater, and people have opinions,..
i guess i have to believe that those who mistreat ppl will get theres in the end
the other woman, though? She is clueless....
I agree, tim
:)
still here fran?
hi everyone
hey, saphyre :-)
hi saphyre
evening all
hi dorens
hey dorens!
Une--- do you see the do6/24--- reminds me of our day at the Cloisters.
indeed!
Hi, dorens and une
hi saphyre and pam
hey, pam (been lurking . . . )
hi dornes
une 8-)
hi tim
plodding toward finishing . . .
go une, go
sorry bad typing
no worries tim. i answer to anything
:)
help with se7 and se8, please?
french for more than first, une
aarrgghh, that makes me crazy that Enable picks and chooses what "foreign" words it will accept!
(thanks for the clue, dorens)
i know, you never know which one to try
true, une. And, who knew that a scandinavian was a rutabaga? (I whined about htis earlier)
i did know that... don't know why though... guess i just love my vegetables
jo7, anybody?
plural of tom/s last name
plural of jo5/20
or plural of slang for a yearning
keeping up with the neighbors, dan
nicely put, dorens! LOL
i thought pam's was better
ah didn't see the plural because I had seen the rightward copy of the singular
anyone need clues? i got fireworkds this morning.
i paraphrased an earlier clue, dorens, 8-)
je 5/20 plz?
jo 7: the last name of many people that is the j 5/20 and then make that plural! doesnt sound right, but it is.
and FIREWORKS for moi!!
yay toi!
Brava, une!
je5/20 Je*** James
grazie, pam!
je 5/20 is a first name of a person used for men and women. the famous leader of the james gang had this first name
yayayay une!!!!!!!!
ty une
yeah unea
i also use that word when i want soming real bad i am jo***ing for it
any other clues needed? i am all yours..........
me, too, tim
like tim hortons:)
me too tim
good riddance to the j's
really tim???????????? what does it really mean?
that's what i meant about yearning tim
and cheetos
:)
there is another name in this: jo** which also is to joke with someone. so three j names.
it started off as slang for horse
mmm cheetos... i could definitely be jo***ing for them right about now
who is tim horton anyway?
love jo***... good r & b song
well i just looked it up. very interesting that i never ever heard this term used.
i have jo*** for salty stuff.
je 5/30 plz
he was a hockey player but i don't watch sports but he opened a huge chain of coffee shops and i am an addict
I am struggling tonite
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
i jo*** salt all of the time!
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
the je 5/30 is not nice at all. it is the past tense of the je 4/13 if you have that. if not look at the number of letters and the points and there is only one letter with the j to add to this amount.
hey min!
Hi, Min! wecome et bienvenue, wilkommen
mkg you would say I am jo***ing for salty stuff
hi min
right tim..............but tell me who is or was tim horton and why do you use this name when you say you are a woman or girl? i am curious
min what clues do you need?
cause in canada tim hortons means coffee and donuts
this is a rich grid for e and s words............i bet very few have neither a s or an e.
any clue for co7? monkey malfunction
and i am all about the coffee
really? tim hortons might be in the babble dict. one day.
How about ALL of them!Started not too long ago mkg
ok. i never touch coffee except ice cream......i find i am up all night if i drink it.
ok min, you go through and see what is obvious and then ask away.
Does anyone have a clue for the je 6/30 word please?
very little keep sme awake except for worrying
there is a je 6/30?
je5/30 is past tense of a religion
lets eel: ho 6/21 is ho + a birds house. ho 5/14 is to past tense of spray with water outdoors from a ho** which is the ho 4/5. and if you change the last consenent it is the ho 5/12.
je6/30? What grid are you playing?
it is a demeaning, ist term for bargaining that is a stereotype of a non-christian religion
I know one thing that is sure obvious. I am not going to finish the grid tonight. Okay, now I will ask away.
it's a 5/30...
i was about to worry i thought i got all those je s
dan no it is not! go to dictionary and see meaning. it is a verb and not a compliment at all but an insult.
LOL, min, you might finish!!!!!
sorry i meant to say lets see before the clues for ho's.
mkg - correct. I did not want to clue the definition directly
Thank you for the je 5/30 clue.I just found the word!
min i will continue if it helps so write and let me know.
still stumped on the first co7 (after female college student)
I still cant find it
the je 5/30
Does anyone have a clue for the jo 7/48 word please?
how many do you have left min
od 6/21 od + two vowels and one consenent+plural. and od 5/12 is the singular. another clue for same words is od+lots and lots of time is ****.
The je 5/30 word is je plus to get married praise2him
jo7 was clued a bit ago - plural of the jo5 last name
keeping up with the jo***** min
jo 7 is the last name that is the jo5/20 above it and make it plural even though it seems to already be plural.
I have 100 words left and I'm going to bed very soon!
ohhh I see it now
thanks min
co + web **** for the co7
co words were tough: min do you have them all? if not i will clue away.
thank you pam, that's fireworks for new!
*me
yeah dan2
YAYA, dan!!!!!!
yw
co + vowel + web ****!
and, dan, as a person of that religious persuasion, i knew you were going for an indirect clue, but just didn't want to watch the cluing disintegrate. really hate that word's connotations...
Congratulations dan2bit on fireworks! Good for you!
really would like some r's in this grid....
another co 7 is slang for the animal that has a bushy striped tail and was a hat, +a man wears around his neck on his shirt a ***+ plural. singluar also a word
I was surprised there was no re words either today.
pam hush your mouth! i was just thinking how nice that i don't have to look for a load of *^^))(*^$$$ RE's
hello
thanks, mkg and hi, harp!
co 6/21s plz
hi harp... sorry pam, didn't mean to sound so harsh
Glad that there are no re words, then the grid would be bigger and it is already too big for me to complete
both
en 7/36: en + it is hard to break a co** which is aco 4/
hey harp!
LOLOLOL, dorens. Sorry.. Stepping back slowly from the r's.
re's are probably better than co's
hard to have re words here when there isnt an r but we could try......................
the co words more than make up for it.
i didn't want re's, just a strategically placed r or two...
Hi harpjane! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
hehe
but with all these E's... an re would have been almost inevitable
hi all. back to try to finish last 49.
hi, doxy
that's true, too, dorens
Hello doxy1lover! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
hi doxy
and there are some really dirty sn words in here tonight
es 7/32: underneath all of us is our bare es*****. another clue for this is es + snake letter again,+second vowel then 2 cons. and vowel at end. lots of e's.
ask me when stuck please. otherwise i will stop.
help with cos please mkg?
the 6/21s
which co's??????????
6/21s
co 6/21: never heard t hhis word. first part is to not be honest is to be a co* man. plural this with two vowels and end with snake letter of course.
hi everyone
LBD....
co 6/21 second one: same first three letters as the first clue i gave and then ad cross letter and plural it. singular is the 5/12 above which ends in vowel.
hey dawg
Hi lbdawger! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
is everyone getting these? i need some feedback.
hi dawg
i have the c's mkg, but i'm sure others are appreciating
Hi Pam, Doxy, Min, Dorens, and all. Doing well Min, had a good class tonight so feel invigorated.
got the first one mkg
third co 6/21 is: an infant when happy co*** (it is a plural. singular is 3 letters). so make this past tense with many vowels. 2 vowels the same and then 2 vowels the same, but a different two, then the plural. strange word. then change it to past tense with another consanent and then singular as co and then 3 vowels for a co 5/12..........strange words
still working on the 2nd one
had the 3rd already
sorry didn't realize there were 3
ty
sorry that was a long clue. did you get it anyone? it is hard to do that one. co+circle+2 vowels the same letter+plural. then past tense for co 6/24 and singular for 5/12
there are actually a total of 4 of them: 5/14, 5/12, 6/24 and 6/21.
i am so pathetic... cannot find the as 6 no matter how hard I try,,, please clue it mkg?

I was thinking the same thing. Did Dr. God ever hear back from the school?
i haven't heard anything. I hope so, but I doubt it.
Was just wondering.
this is about the time we get flooded with trolls tho. they're bored with school and have to go looking for "entertainment."
I wish they would find their "entertainment" elsewhere.
me too. like go to myspace or something
unfortunately, they can't go there during school hours.
*sigh*, some entreprenuarl (sp) type person should design a chat game room for that age group.
I wish I knew how, I would certainly try if I did.
I'm off for tonight. Didn't sleep well last night, and am very tired. See you tomorrow.
Goodbye doxy1lover! I'll see you tomorrow in the log

noted, hoot. I default to formal, thanks to upbringing.
We finally got rain yesterday after about 2 months. We actually put timers on our hoses so the lawn & garden would not die.
es7 plural of the 6, to make hard to decipher.
we're on voluntary water restriction here so far, though 3 other counties here have mandatory now.
Gee I thought your area was getting our rain. Guess not.
nope, here around DC/Baltimore, we're driest we've been in 20 years. Britain's getting all our rain from what i gather.
do'h DR, stupid me, clued wrong thing. :">
Weird weather. Maps I've seen has rain going north around Memphis to the west and then heading east. Guess it keeps going north

Babble has a talant for finding the weird. It's a variety of arrowroot.

se/24 2nd is se6/24 + E
