lo6
why waiting for me, dear Jill?
stid -- is it froggy's pirate game you've been playing?
Oops. That's me with the stuck blog. Sorry. Posted a video yesterday I think.
hm. I have seen the card game. Haven't acquired it yet froggy. But it looks great!
just because, stid -- you're usually on when I check in around now
no jill -- I play an online game
Hey, I'm glad you've seen it--what store? Or was it online?
I thought froggy's game was an online one, silly me
I'll look at the video tomorrow then froggy.
it was online.
It's a good old sit down and play with your friends (or kids or grandkids) game, jilli.
well, you'll have to let rennie and nut know too
i keep waiting for the 700 word grid, we've had so many small ones!
I like games like that a lot frog, there is a local store I can order it from if they don't already have it

never seen a sneeze spelled THAT way!
fireworks. tough little grid!
YAY freep!!!
Hi everyone - can someone clue me towards the 7's pls?
good for you freep
No 7s here :(
hi hugs
Hi jilli
the lo6 is an extension of the lo4
I thought so, but i can't monkey it.
actually, i accidently included the extension in my original clue!
considering there are 5 lo4s, that's a big help
lol -- just about to say the same thing, jilli!
I guess it's the first lo4 which is extended
crap, crap and crap. finally got it, but it took forever.
I got it trueheart--thanks--hi, everyone.
lol...the first lo4!
i'm trying to think of how to clue the 7s
they both build on the first co4/6...
have the co 7 -- what is the other one?
there are 2 co7s
hi miranda -- and trueheart (sorry I missed your entrance)
floor covering made out of truffles?
lol...it's okay, i was lurking until i got fireworks.

aww Lynxxx, I am so sorry :( You must be so fed up with it. Hope it will get better soon.
brilliant clue, BabbleRabble, thanks. My first word without even looking at the grid, lol.
how many words in this grid?
phantom word chocolate
bye Brewster
ruru, that borders on the criminal!
80 twst
80
only 80, twstd
k, thanks Sprite. what's up with the small word lists lately?
oh truffles sprite
lol
dunno, twsted, but it feels like we are on diet ;)
i just ate some chocolate fudge brownie ice cream.
lol ruru... I resent chocolate being a phantom at any time!
again with the ice-cream DC !?
that sounds so good!
I have some double fudge gelato coming up.
dc, you have the loveliest ice cream!
I had that chocolate bundt cake again
oh, that sounds nicer, ruru.
tnx for the help all
yes, lynxxx, ice cream has been my leitmotif this week
how come gelato is never in the grid?
i did make couscous with yellow dal and palak paneer for dinner, thoug.
hey JoSo :) *hug* One happy mrP you got there!
oh jilli, stop it, I still need to have breakfast and I am drooling now!
do I keep trying Conan because Arnold SwARZENEGGER IS OUR GOVENOR?
leitmotif - indulgence, passion, downfall, diet, reward - ?
lol
when the stidkid stayed here he had choc bundt cake for breakfast
hi sprite, glad to do it, they are in australia, yes
what are the 7s, pls?
you're the best, JoSo, and I mean that.
jilli, I wanna be a kid and come stay at your place too!
dcsein, they are both co's
2 co7's - 40 & 36
ty, joey & Lynxxx
yvw
I'd like a kid, after it's housetrained I think
lol JoSo, true. That takes a couple of years.
but realy, they are in aussy, because I sent them rates for shipping to new Zealand
oh lol... no I think only Kiwi is from nw Zealand. MrP is in Australia.
They are nr Sydney, in Australia Joso. Might even be cheaper
co 7 - drink and welcome *** (on floor) co 7 - drink and diminutive suffix
ok. gotta fix that, prob a little cheaper
brb
I need to move a bit - BBL
ten minutes and 9 words left and no gain.. I think I will return tomorrow.... good luck all
the second co7 is french for a ho
g'night, ruru!
bye ruru, sleep well
oooooohhhhhhhh lala
night ruru
where is Don Imus when you need him
lol
jilli: my hubby just brings me a wiener melange coffee and a croissant ham/cheese :) No chocolate bundt cake but very yummy!
lol ruru
*hugs lynxxx* Take it easy :(
ooh sprite -- nice midnight snack for me...be right over!
thanks for those 7s, BabbleRabble and jilli. And jilli: if you come over, I will save you half!
you're safe, sprite -- it will be gone by the time I teleport over
then I will get you new :)
or fresh, rather.
drool
book that plane, jilli, and I will get you even better stuff than this :)
how could I have missed the volcano?
finally got the 7s, the drink has an a, and it took me a bit to shorten it to the fruit co4nut. My literalist brain drives me a bit batty at times.
because it is too straightforward in the grid, jilli. We are used to make it knot and twist.
ty for the E, jilli, those straight line ones are the hardest., and i tend to read up, rather than down.
reverse the volcano
that one i've had for a while, babrab, ty.
I even had that one without spotting the volcano, BabbleRabble :) Imagine...
oh yay! it's raining!
real rain, unlike the other day!
from your way of telling us, dc, I take it it is a happy event :) Congrats.
same here!
we've had 2.7cm of rain in the last 40 days, sprite, and we are under water restrictions due to drought, and most crops failed around here this yer for lack of water. So, yes rain is a happy. :)
rehi all
wish I could send you some of our overdose at times like that, dc! Hope it will rain enough to make the restrictions no longer necessary.
lol joso... if that isn't a true babblegreeting, none is!
wb, joso.
if we have the winter many of us expect, come spring, the rivers and reservoirs and aquifers will be full again.
ah, good dc!
no harm done, rates are the same to Australia as to New Zealand, I guess it's all under the other side of the world as far as Canada Post is concerned
This weather's going crazy, too little rain in US, way too much in UK, too hot in Oz, way too cold in UK!
I think so, JoSo. But whatever it is, it is a bargain for a box of your precious comics!
and no summer for the northwest US and Canada -- just chill and rain
yay for global weirdening. /droll sarcasm
What's an aquifer, DC?
phantom: losel
that is a short one for you, BabbleRabble ;)
they're predicting a cold la niña winter here
a large underground body of water which feeds wes or water systems, lizmac, usually under and filtered through, rock
lol dc
oh, that would be a good thing, jilli, cause that would mean we get a winter, unlike last year.
Ah, I see, thank you.
short grid
ah, of course, I see :)
great icon, liz!
lots if them around
not a good thing here, dc -- we're not equipped for heavy snow and such
I keep seeing apathic. Stupid O.
Good old Edward Monkton again, can always be relied on to amuse, dc.
i was about say, but ur in canada, then remembered ur in BC, so yeah, most of the province would not be well set up for handling snow.
carbon footprint
right, dc
carbon footprint, babrab?
about 10 years ago we had a winter in Toronto like the ones I remember for childhood, the mayor paniced and called in Canadas armed forces, rest of Canada had a good laugh
Pity about the copyright sign right through it though, I'll have to look for one without the embellishment!
you could photoshop or gimp it out liz
No need, pics are plentiful.
my brain keeps wanting colm to be a word, though i know its a name.
joso we had a doozy here in 1996 -- my first winter here after living in the Montreal area -- what a shock!
Aloha Babblers! Very late flip!
aloha Fran! No need to hurry, another case of grid shortage today.
aloha, fran!
I can't find the last th4/6 -- please somebody put me out of my misery!
i see, what's with the baby grids?
Forbes had an article that ranked each state ranked each state in six equally weighted categories: carbon footprint, air quality, water quality, hazardous waste management, policy initiatives and energy consumption.
aloha fran!
greek letter, jilli?
th4/6 biblical for you
oh, interesting babrab, i'm betting where i live did not fare so well.
hi jilli! hi dc! hi babrab! hi sprite! hi liz! hi joso!
**** art with me
I have a th5/12 greek letter, dc
jilli, could that be the one that ends in the right bottom corner?
wasn't Hawaii third on that list babrab?
or what Brewster says :)
hi fran

lickety went into stealth mode. :-)

Please take pity on me. I'm missing one word, and it is the lo 6/24. Anyone? Please?
the google map of the place we used to live showed a blank lot where our house was.
hi BFM!
Hi Fran!
How are you doing?
BFM -- Scottish lake + indefinite article
BFM, BabbleRabble clued that earlier something as: Brits famous lake monster + indefinate article
thanks jilli!
i'm good BFM...how are you?
hi, bfm
See, I'm so stupid I can't find the indefinite article.
Fran, my oldest started kinder, so I've been super busy shuttling her back and forth.
spread it out across the grid, BFM
Hi, dcseain

LOL, thanks FRan, I missed the C one :)
i'd missed the C, too. :)
don't forget the T. :-)
LOL, but yet, I found the M one easily, and thats not a word I'd use!
or the mo 4 -- donkeyesque
Had the T, thanks Fran!
that's a symptom of babbleitis...finding strange words before normal ones.

thanks babrab, had that one.
Hmmmm, I will check out the mo4 BR, I think I missed that!

bye cat!
cya, Cat
oh Cat, I know! I have monkeyed for some 4 letter words like forever, and being baffled by the fact I could not find it while the options are definitely limited with a 4 letter one...
1 co, 2 ch for me to find then.
later, cat

ah my distance is now my reading, hence the migraines. time to go to the optometrist.
oh, that last MO was unexpected.
sounds like it, dc
?
the optometrist comment
ah, yes, i've been using them ony for reading for a few weeks now, but this is first time i've been near enough to text to tell that the bifocal is not useful anymore, as i'm sitting with my face in the monitor right near.
ok, go soon then... migraines are hell and if they can be avoided, I'd say, go for it!
I didn't mean you had to jump up and go to the optometrist immediately, though :D
yes, i know. :) i am looking forward to getting new glasses though. They're the one aspect of my life in which i care about fashion. many too many people about now with frames similar to mine.
ah LOL! will you put on a pic of the one you'll choose then for us?
indeed, i shall, sprite. My current frames are from Japan, prior ones were Austrian, it'll be fun to see what stries my fancy this year.
looking forward to seeing it!
Good morning, sprite and dcseain.
morning, sarlet, how are you?
very pretty Eid Al-Fatir icon, scarlet
Well, thank you, dc. And you? Still at work?
Thanks, dc... I haven't changed it since last Saturday... it's a busy time, but good! :-)
i worked day yesterday, i'm home now and i work night tonight, if that all makes sense.
LOL, then your days and nights are still topsy-turvy... I used to work nights and really loved it, but sleeping was elusive!
hey Scarlet!
huh. the co5.22 comes from Dutch. never seen it before.
Hey sprite! *Hugs to you* How ARE you dear lady?
that word alone was half the fun in completing this grid.
must look for that one then, dc! :)
Well done, dc. This seems to be much more of a challenge than yesterday's zoomer!
hi Scarlet... not too great, but learning. Slowly learning AND learning to be patient about it, lol. Last part is the hardest!
and how are you doing?
Oh... that really touches me, sprite... the patience part took me decades to learn, but it finally came... in spurts. I had hoped that you were making strides into a more comfortable place. We are well, and this is the finest time of the year. I love the fall, the World Series starts tonight, and the National Football League is in full force... I am making plans for Thanksgiving now... yadda, yadda, yadda... LOL
yes, challenge today, babrab was a huge help in completing it.
BabbleRabble is a wonderful resource when spragging in a grid, dc.
wow, that sounds so good, Scarlet! And I am making progress, only very very slow. It will take several more years to really get there, probably. Glad I am not the only one for whom patience is not easy ;)
yes, sie is. also a most interesting person.
I agree on BabbleRabble being a great help... and not only in grids :)
i hope the Sox win, though i think the Rockies have an advantage.
I am hoping for a slam-bang meeting that goes the full seven, dc... Sox do have the advantage as the host... two, three, two... But the Rockies are the team of destiny this year, it seems. It is the local double-
i have such patience, would that i could share. *hug*
A team here in Asheville.
thanks for that hug and that wish, dc :)
i lived briefly in Boston. I must say i was disappointed to see the tribe lose, though, as i have strong ties to Cleeveland
sorry to bore you w/the baseball chatter, sprite.
you never bore me, dc
Just to hear you say that you have made progress is very endearing, sprite... You know what you have to do...you are such a dear person... you can and will do it!
i agree with Scarlet, sprite, i'm confident you shall prevail in this endeavour, trying as it be.
Something just let the steam out of the Indians, dc... I felt really bad for Eric Wedge... he is one heck of a manager, and the kids had guts and grit.
thanks for the vote of confidence :) :) I could really use one.
my hubby just came to me and asked why the salt was in the freezer... I think I must have put it there yesterday without even realising it. Stupid, isn't it :(
Sprite, some days it was one-half step forward, two back... for years... It's some kind of balancing act. LOL... maybe you were thinking of making ice-cream?
I am glad he can laugh about it, lol.
yes, i agree about the indians, scarlet.
see, i said when i logged on that ice cream was the leitmotif this week. :D
I hope they maintain that momentum for next season, dc... good group, and Grady Sizemore is due for an amazing career...
and thank you too, dc, for the vote of confidence. You guys give me courage when I am running out of it.
i agree
ice cream... now that is always a good thought :)
Sprite, every day I make myself do something I really dont' want to do... that created a great deal of patience... and acceptance.
oh yes, I am doing that too. One step out of the tiny comfort zone and then back. Time and time again... and learn.
hm. that could be a method for me to build some motivation.
Then the mundane little chores seem to be accomplished, I feel better about having done it, and find the "oomph" to do more... even the unpleasant things.
it does work, it's true :) I have written a couple of tough emails this morning, I will go shower after babble and I will do the laundry today.
It's kind of a reverse-impetus... LOL
Then you are in a good frame of mind, sprite... at least it isn't the inertia that had its fangs in you earlier in the year...
no, I have it mostly beaten! The antidepressiva made all the difference in that respect.
glad to hear, sprite. may that it keeps working for you.
I am so glad to hear that! Meanwhile, life goes on, and there are whole cycles that seem crashingly designed to erode one's soul... that is what actually helped me... and others...
I really hope so, dc. I finally accepted the fact that I need them. Though I think I will be able to get to a lower dosage over one or two years, I will not again try to do without them.
Getting through those cycles.. I mean. I used to say, "God, bring it on." That may not have been exactly wise... LOL
I am not sure I know what you mean, Scarlet? Bad cycles help you?
now, if only i could convince my mother that she needs an anti-anxiety and/or an anti-depressant.
oh, ok! Answered before asked, lol, thanks.
those that protest the loudest, often need them most, dc :(
yep.
Yes, sprite. I have seen the gift of challenge... sorry about that, dc... that's hard on the family, too.
yeah, prayers like that seem to draw even more bad stuff, Scarlet ;)
"god, bring it on." i understand this concept, comprehend it even, but grok it, i do not. I was raised around, but apart from Southern Protestantism. (No offence intended in that)
Words of Wisdom: Don't EVER say, "What else could happen?" Just dive under a rock if you say that!
I got citalopran from my doctor and that really works good for me, against both the depression and the anxiety. The are both still there, don't get me wrong, but more manageable.
too true!
scarlet, realizing my mother has anxiety put my whole childhood in sharp focus, and i give her credit for not alloving her anxiety to get in the way of my sister and i having good childhoods.
so now you wish she'd be as good to herself as she has been to you, dc?
yes, and management is 2/3 of the battle, along with talk therapy, from my POV.
None taken, dc... My husband is Roman Catholic, I am a Buddhist, and the bring it on is my preference to deal with a great deal of negativity all at once rather than have it spread over a long period of time...
that makes perfect sense, scarlet.
I am still having trouble with the management part. I keep mixing up management with control.
yes and no, sprite. It's been fun watching her be grandma - she's rather like her mother's mother, and that is a very good thing. she, her brothers and i all have very fond memories of that grandmother.
Good morning everyone, just wanted to say hello and goodbye I'm actually about to sign off. I got my 59 words today and that's good enough for now.
*hugs dc*
Hello and goodbye, Marmar!
yes, sprite, that's a hard thing, in part because the drugs makes one feel sometimes like one loses a part of oneself, or control over part of oneself.
hello and bye, Marmar, good to see you, even for a sec :)
hi, and bye, maramar. nice to see you, if briefly :)
Just a quick comment. Sprite, dc and Scarlet, I was following the chat a while, and am so impressed by the close loving friendship here. God bless you (all) and yours.
I have taught myself to be in control of everything inside and outside... and to be extremely harsh on myself. I just never realised, I thought I was being totally normal, and even lazy. And now, when I should 'manage' things, I am still inclined to control them and me.
My beloved is ready for some banana pancakes and some strong coffee... Oh, sprite... that harshness is part of the depression tiers...
it is true, Marmar, this is a special community. Glad to know you are part of it.
Thank you, Marmar... it IS an amazing community in here with the good combinations of personalities...
I know, Scarlet... and I have lived with those for at least 25 years without realising. Unlearning is soooo tough, LOL!
Take care, bye!
I'm back for just a bit. Sprite, antianxiety med's saved my sanity. About 10 years ago I thought I was losing my mind, the med's saved me. I didn't know what was wrong with me, thought it was menopausal, but no. To this day, still trying to convince my Dad that he needs them, he denies a problem. Hang in there!
*hugs Cat* Thanks, it is so good to know I am not alone in this. You guys are the best, thanks for sharing.
*hugs back atcha* No, you are not alone sweetie!
*hugs cat*, glad to hear that you got what you need, and good of you to be suppotive of your father.
OH, Cat9x... you are so fortunate to have found medications that help you... parents think that the younger generations beating the drum for a panacea are too easily influenced by medicine... we know differently!
Late Oct, and i just turned the AC back on.
I can't believe how much support I get from babble, how many of you reach out to me and let me know they care, and tell me about their own struggles and that there is light at the end of the tunnel (light that does not come from another train even). I cannot tell you how much I appreciate it.
Exactly Scarlet! My Dad thinks nowadays they just shove pills at you for anything, he is so wrong! Yes, paxil worked for me, still does, thank god!
drugs be not a panacea, but a really wonderful aid/tool.
My AC is on dc, it's hot here, even at this time!
someone here said once: would you hesitate to take insuline if you were diagnosed with diabetes? It is the very same thing: if the brain does not make enough serotonin, you need medicines to balance it.
last week was in the 60s, this week it's been in the mid-80s, it's 5AM and the temp in the house w/windows open got down from 74F to 72F, but the humidity was not worth it.
that was a true eye-opener for me
There is a light sprite, it will come, hang in there. I know how tough it is, took a few trials to find what worked for me. I honestly had lost hope, thimnking nothing would. Some pills made me feel worse, it was awful. So awful.
very nice analogy on the medications, sprite :)
exactly sprite!
i took one minimal dose of prozac, and then neither ate nor slept for 72 hours. Weee!
I think it was Atalante who said it. It made me make peace with taking meds for the rest of my life. It made it so clear to me that it was not some kind of shortcoming of myself, but a chemical imbalance that needs to be set straight.
the wrong meds can be hell, I know. I was lucky my doctor picked the right one so fast.
Yikes dc, how horrible! Prozac did not work for me.
quel horror, dc!
OH, Cat... never give up and never give in! There is a way to normalcy out there... Ackkk, dc... that sounds like the way I react to meds...
if you did not know, a lot of SSRIs started out in testing as diet drugs
Yes sprite, true! I know I will probably need them the rest of my life, but thats ok. I wouldn't call what I had before the pills. a "life". Now I have one, worth living.
paxil, happily did me the good that prozac did not
yay for Cat! One helluva hero you are to me.
I won't Scarlet! I almost did, but that was long ago.
Aww sprite, I am no hero, just someone who through faith and loads of help, was able to find her way, you will too!
Great dc, thats what I take, works wonders for me :)
it is what kept me alive for so long... the fact that I just never give up. Not on a puzzle, not on a person, not on life. I guess that is why friends nicknamed me Pitbull Cassie.
you just gave my definition of a real hero, Cat :D
*Hugs to the greatest, most honest group of people I know.* I must feed my beloved... Peace and tenderness to all of you!
LOL sprite! Great nickname! A fighter, thats a great way to be :)
ciao, scarlet.
Walk in Beauty, Scarlet, and enjoy the pancakes and your beloved :)
Thank you sprite :)
Thank you sprite :)
Thank you dear one.
hm. the burn on my wrist shows evidence that it will leave an unfortunate scar, happily, not too large of one.
what did you do, dc? Sunburn?
*gasp* dc... did you....?
Off to bed, take care all, and sprite, hang tough, if you ever need to talk, email me, CatLeChatt@aol.com, enjoy your day, enjoy all that you have :) ciao!
no, i was turning muffins from a pan, and my wrist hit the edge of the pan in the process, it was only a moderately sever sev1 burn, but i did not moisturize
sleep well, cat
thanks Cat! *hug* Have a wonderful sleep with happy dreams :)
poor dc :( Co4 until it burns no more, is the rule... but you already knew th4, I bet.
yes, i did
immediateyl
did you find the co5/22 yet?
oh yes! Lovely word! And it does come straight from the dutch, indeed.
yes, andi all-in-all we have oddly few dutch words in english, considering the close ties between England and Holland historically, and The Netheralands today.
I think because for most things there were already english words.
good point, what with both being germanic.
there are incredibly many dutch words in japanese, because of the tight ties and the fact that their worlds were so far apart.
that makes a lot of sense, just as a reasonable amount of Indonesian got incorporated into dutch
oh yes, that is true!
how near are you to finishing?
and fireworks :)
conrats1 :D
thanks :D
it's amazed me how much faster i'm getting at this game as i play it more.
oh Fran, LOLLL at your vid! So nice to see that explained.
oh yes, that is very true. This is really a game that you can get better in all the time.
kids are back in school this week?
they are, autumn holiday was one week only.
i remember when i was in spain how many more holidays there were compared to here in the states.
many more, but much shorter, indeed
it's funny how sometimes cultures can differ. Some canadians are baffled by the fact that we take 2 days for thanksgiving, whereas they only take 1.
of course, theirs is the 1st monday in october, ours is the 4th thursday in november, which accounts for that difference.
there are many differences, even here in Holland, between provinces. Ah well, we manage :D
huh, i never really thought about it,but the netherlands is every bit the cobbled-together counntry that spain, gormany, and italy are, isn't it.
i guess belgium falls in that camp, too
oh yes, we are
i should sleep, as i've been up for nearly 25 hours now. Hope you have a lovely day, and i'll catech tomorrow after flip.
sleep well, dc, and thanks for the great company!
totally my pleasure! *hug* {poof}
I am off too, bye all
hello everyone :)
oh man, I have been chatting away to a chat log with no one on it! LOL just refreshed :D
oh no! a grid of M's and C's!! arrrgghhhh
Good morning, mrp! You are not alone!
mrp!
Actually, I just got up, and was hoping for at least 200 words today...
Lickety!
Jb! how are ya!
Dreaming of my first cup of coffee, L!
Hi I'm here for a short while as well before I have to go out shopping. Looks a tricky one today even though it is a short one.
oh - that first cup saves my day ;-)
I can't past the messages that inform me that I've already entered "co4/5" and "mo4/5" and mo5/16"
Looking at the grid, only one phrase comes to mind: "How the H are ya?!"
hee hee
GM, Samantha
sandie - like a bad song suck in your head huh
Can't believe that AH word!
it is tricky! all good over here. How you all going?
Good morning, all
sorry - so sandi - samantha
Hey Lickety--has anyone here told you recently just how very grateful we are for the recent-ish Bullk Add Feature?
Bless you, Sandie - you made that my first found word!
becuz we RLY RLY LIKE IT
well I guess that's nothing to sneeze at then! LOL
"H" - Bless all of you!!!
Hee hee, Sandie, I love wordplay in the morning!
thank you samantha - Do you run Babble Expert?
No, I'm using Firefox currently
Are you on a MAC? If not - send me an email - and you'll love me more ;-)
I am not sure how to find your email address, and I'm on a Dell PC--we live in Round Rock, Tejas, home of Dell Inc.
Y'know, lickety, I've tried running the Babble Browser several times, but all my computer does is give me a blank page with columns (Win XP with security)
JBs - I can help you with that - send me a screen shot and I'll reply. Samantha - it's on the right of the clues page - my name + gmail.com
I'll get it you today, with "Babble" somewhere in the subject line. Thank you!
Samantha - it's for people like you that I've created it - you'll love it
Okay, lick, I will soon in the next few days. Thanks!
"People Like Me"? Oh I'm dying to find out what that means!
Oh, yes, still loving the list! BUT, listen, yesterday I finished without any list at all! Sure, sure, only 50 or so words, but really! No list!
Samantha - it just means - lovely geniune people - with common interests - And as far as I'm concerned - the best group on the internet.
Hello all. Samantha--Babble Expert is great! Lickety is a genius. TY, Lickety.
Hee hee. That's lovely, lickety. Thank you
Good for you, JB.
No matter what the tile stats say, there are only 20 "middle C" words
JBs - did you know that I give you all an extra suprize - Every time you finish you get a new interesting video as fireworks
*bows to Lickety* *waves at Scrabbler!*
good morning all
Thanks Scrabbler - you were there from the beginning - and helped alot!
I know, Lickety, and I'm really looking forward to seeing them
Lickety, I drove by a restaurant/bar last week and on the billboard, the featured band to be playing that night was: Lickety Split! I wondered if you are touring? LOL
GM, Lideola!
and Babble Expert gives me the extra time to get a proper dinner made every night
Scrabbler - funnily enough - I searched my name 2 weeks ago - and found that band and even saw a video of them playing - 2 girls leading
The videos are always a nice prize, and some are absolutely outstanding.
Now showing: Lickety and his List!
Lideola--I often eat dinner right here in front of the screen.
Scrabbler - but cooking and playing would be hard - unless you have voice entry - Now that's an idea for V13
Speak softly and carry a big dictionary, right?
I run to the kitchen, set the timer on the microwave, run back here. when the food is ready, I am back here with my plate.
there is a new excellent childrens show on Public Television that focuses on letters and reading. Its a fav of my girls- and one of the characters' catch phrases is "Lickety Letters- you did it!" Made me giggle the first time I heard it
i do that with lunch Scrabs: ) while girlies are napping
hehehe - lideola - yes - I chose my alias years ago - I saw it before, and I keep hearing it too. I read it in one of my kids books too - I think it was Dr Seuss too
I am always multitasking in my life.
Wait . . . if "nuncle" is a Shakespearean word, why isn't "nant"?
You should petition the Enable Dictionary editors, SJ.
HA! I see I stumped everyone with that.
oh words - words words words.... Anyways - I gotta do fatherly duties and get the kids to bed. Night chatting - see you soon I'm sure.
I second your petition, Sam
Shakespeare has stumped me since I was first introduced in 9th grade.
Really, Shakespeare doesn't work so much inthe spoken word. You need good actors who understand what they're saying.
Good night, Lickety. Say hello to everyone.
GN, lickety!
G'd morning Babblers!
GM, Lori!
It's amazing what you will understand when it's delivered by people who assume you will understand the,
them*
G'night Lickety! ***My Babble hero***
But I don't understand what they are saying--I need a translator. That is why CLiff Notes and Spark Notes are great for people like me.
Of course I wouldn't want the UN to be run that way
morning everyone can i have todays stats and any biggies please
Hi Miss Nova Scotia.
Hi Lori
Well, Scrabbler, what works for a lot, or even for most, just won't work for everyone
80 words, six 6's and two 7's.
80 words, coolgirl, 2 7's, 6 6's
I am missing parts of my brain, like musical ability and understanding Shakespeare, otherwise I get along well in life.
So, do you take the C notes to the play, Scrabs?
thankyou
I want a bigger grid! ***pouting***
You're up early today Scrabbler.
I'm missing the gardening and quilting genes!
Musical Ability is a closed book to me. I had a close friend who was a classically trained musician; I have a close friend who is an Emmy award winning producer, and I still don't quite understand what a "key" is
**pouts along with Lori** Meeee toooooo!
Scrabbler, have you ever read a book about Scrabble called "Word Freak" by Stefan Fatsis?
Haha, JB, I skip Shakespeare in the Park when invited by friends every summer. I went once 15 yrs ago or so and felt like I was hearing a foreign language. Well, it is a foreign language.
Yes, Bichon--I loved that book! There is a movie with him in it, following the players--Word Play, I think.
No, that's crossword puzzles.
It is if the actors race through their speeches, Scrabbler. I really really liked the Mel Gibson Hamlet movie, because the words and acting all melted together and made it a very powerful presentation.
Lori, I set my alarm for 6 on Tues and Wed. My arrival here depends on how many times I hit the snooze button.
LOLOL Scrabbler
I like my snooze button, too! 3x today...
Bichon--search on Blockbuster on-line, and you wil find it. The stars of the book are in the movie.
The movie Word Play? The one that centers about the Crossword Championship in Stamford CT?
Lori--so far I am struggling with this grid. I have just 27 words in 30 min.
Did you ever see the Scrabble Vidlit, Scrabbler?
No, bichon, there is a Scrabble movie. I'll go look now.
I have 28. I'm trying to drag it out.....
Anyone have hints for the 7's?
co** puffs + what you wipe your feet on at the door, jb
good morning, all!
G'd morning Nonnie
JBs I have 2 co 7's
hiya, lori!
TY, Nonnie and Lori!
co + repeat first 2 letters + place ***s sit on top of the table cloth

That's it. That's all i have at this point in time. :)

Thanks so much Scrabs. I will get them ASAP
http://www.vidlit.com/craziest/
lori gets the sin bin
Those are the only two 7s, lori.
The sin bin! Yea! Truffles and champagne..... G'd morning mrP :)
***Goes quietly without resistance to the PB***
hi lori :)
does anyone have an idea for that co5/22 plz?
I finally figured out Lori's sin. SJ--I am watching the vidlit and love it. (paused now to tell you!)
sandie, it uses the 5 point letter
Heh! Tell me you love it again after you get to the end, if you're still speaking to me then
co + I *ove truffles in the PB + high point tile letter + 1st vowel
mr P? There is no 5 point letter
oh darn, I mean 6 point
winter is co** (burrrrr) and **p with a stun gun
Oh, I just got the 5 point letter!
wow thanks for that - that's a tricky word
okey doke. you either meant four or six, I thought we should clarify
Really, if you look at the M, it has 5 points...
It's a stoopid word, and I'd like to thank my monkeys.
It's not WORTH 5 points, tho
OK, the m is special. I grant you that. It's a special M
oops my clue puts an extra letter in the word...I am forever doing that...sorry.
I wonder if Scrabbler will still be speaking to me when s/he gets back?
Off to work, take care all.
g'bye
Later Nonnie, have a good one.
can i have some clues 4 the 6s please
I'm out, too, time to really work! Bye, all! *poof*
g'bye JB!
finished! some crazy words today the video is short but good
Bye JBs. Congrats mrP!
bye nonnie and jb :)
Scrabbler? Have you recovered yet? Are you still speaking to me?
I think I killed Scrabbler. I'm worried.
I HAD A PERMIT FOR THE GUN!
Um. It's actually kinda freaking me out that no one is talking to me. Will someone, anyone, make some kind of pro forma reply so that I don't feel so all alone?
SJ--I had to check e-mail and I haven't finished the video yet. Now I have to go to work, so I will finish it. I am now curious about the ending...what could be so bad?
Heh. Go watch it, it's got to be almost over
I mean, I will finish the video later today.
and thank you
"What could be so bad" indeed--you're right, it's a religion, what could POSSIBLY go wrong?
I have about 6 min to go in the video and should have entered the shower 10 min ago...I hit the snooze alarm twice and lost valuable internet time...darn!!
same here LOL
see you tomorrow. or, at least, later
has anyone got the mo6/27 - after the coffe drink plz?
I don't have a single bloody one of the sixes
I'm out of here, for now. Have fun y'all.
mo + **** Ness Monster
Have a good one Sandie
Wow! I'd never have got that one! TY
point values + monkeys + stoopid words.... LOL :-)

Hey girl! That was sneaky while I was Boggling.... ***waits for the right moment to repay the tackle*** :)
didn't know u were boggling :p
yet..another teensy grid...

How goes the battle? Be prepared, the grid is tougher than it looks today.
I have a grand total of 16 words in....10 mins
hi mr pres
the battle goes...
mornin all!
hi carlee and gran :)
I had a total of 50 words and couldn't find anymore for about an hour!
G'd morning gran. ***whistles and acts casual, waiting for the right tackle moment***
oh I love cheese!! I have four types infront of me... am going to be sorry tomorrow!
lori....act casul?...the more casula sh eis..the more you know she is up to something {water balloon lobbed back over head on top of lorip}
Oh gawd, what have I done.... *assumes ninja stance and tries to look inconspicuous*
last one and I cannot monkey it - has anyone got the co4/6 before the high scoring co5/22 plz?
co + santa's chant

Good Morning Everyone!!
*Hurries to Kats side with straw to steal with*
Mornin Peri!
G'd morning peri
yummmmm...{ grabbing the super soaker}....
*Offers equal to gran* Hi, peri! How are you this fine day?
hi there peri
doing well, gray and rainy here, wish I could send some of the rain to the west and south here in the US
aren't the fires awful...but spellbinding to watch...
Oh, thank you, peri... we've had rain yesterday and today... not much but our drought situation is nearly critical... at least we aren't So. California... that's horrible.
u have drought there too? we only hear about georgia up here
hi peri :)
Gov. Easley of N.C. is on the verge of declaring a disaster... only 100 days left of water reserves.
hi there mrp :-)
Hi, mrpresident!
thats a very handsome daxy Granadan
( u typically get rain in autumn/winter tho?...100 days takes you past christmas )
he is squished LOLs. How is yours doin?
It depends on the El Nino, kat... this is the worst situation in more than 50 years right now... some are saying the worst ever.
sulking - doesnt like the cold weather
Mine go out the door, then whine to come in and pee in the kitchen. Im past cring I just mop. lazy blihters

the co6's are co**** words... one of them means to live together?
TY Mr P!
( I used to argue and argue with my m-in-l about our back gardens.... she put in full english garden..and is forced to water and water... I put in drought resistant plants....lots of rocks...is very contemporary....she hates it....but I don't put a drop of water n my lawn/ garden all year except for what I pump off the pool
the fa6 means understand
I dont need to worry about the sheets, he sleeps on the pillows!
lo6 lo + jackie c*** (martial arts man)
got the fa6, thanks
mo6 - mo + **** ness monster
got the lo6, thanks mrp, never would have found it
I used only grey water all summer for the gardens kat... and they are still flourishing... the morning glories have taken over the roof and look gorgeous... sort of a periwinkle *ahem* blue and just huge blossoms.
co7 both start with co***** tree, with milk in the nut.... one ends in door ***, what you wipe your feet on, the other ends in double cons and vowel
got the co6/24 thanks granadan and mrp

the co6 meaning to be living together

you click on the right definition out of a list for each word, and the advertisers donate money to buy rice for the united nations
that is an interesting site, Benda, thank you
np mom
freerice.com also learns to distinguish hard words from easy ones the more people try it
phew, at least they don't take the rice away when you get one wrong. :)
yes, and tries to challenge you based on what you get right

The c's are just plain nasty today--I'm down to three c/5s even with lickety...arghhh...
two people who are both crazy: coloco LOL
it's a kind of fabric--ho plus cyber^^^
I just started, jan, but I agree - nasty, nasty nasty
i have 13 left and 6 of them are c's
Luvme, the ho5 sounds like a famous barbarian.
clue for the single e in the top left please
pab, famous volcano
ok, whack me now * proffers fish*
oh, my goodness, thanks BDG, the c's have obviously melted my brain, and i don't even have all of them
Ugh, only the last 'c' left and can't seem to get it.
YVW, pab
Tina, it's a place to sit.
one vote for thomp to be a word
and a vote for choo too
And, if anyone is looking for the co/5/22--I finally monkeytyped it. It turns out that its an unusual word for a plant that's a member of the mustard family, but Sprite will probably get it right off because it's derived from Dutch!
close, mamabear
a clue for the second ch 5/14? Please...
chomp
ch5 to take a big bite out of something
only 80 words today
that's the 5/18 LOL
i wish the puzzle was bigger
. . . or what lucy said LOL
i have that word as ch5/18
TY, YOU KATEQ AND JAN. FIREWORKS
hmmm, worry bout that
good job, luvme
Yay, luvme!!!
worry = sorry
yw
The second ch/14 is from Spanish--apaprently a derogatory word for Mexican Americans...
Oops, fingers faster than brain this morning.
Aaannd, finally fireworks. Last c-5 monkeytyped into place.
yea jan!
aah, ty jan, got it
wtg jan~~~!!!
louc
not finding those 5/14's - only have the first ch 5/14
lucky you
My last c/5 was the last ch/5/14--a brackish lake or march in North Africa, usually dry in the summer. Now, who knew we needed a word for that?!
ch5 rhymes with croquet-like game played on horseback
good clue, Doc! thanks
8-D
now the last 5/14
And I rest my case,, exceptionally bizarre c's today.
Mamabear, that's the one I just now clued.
congrats jan! and ty for the clue earlier
does it start out like the 4/6 above it?
still missing a bunch of Cs meself
good lord - I just counted and still need 13 c's
hi babblers
Unless, mamabear, you are looking for the co/5/14, in which case it's the French nobleman.
hi madi!
But if it's the ch/5/14, no, it doesn't start the same as the ch/4 just above it in the list. (Incidentally, thanks again lickety--I could never have liscked the c's without the list today!)
can i have some help with the frist mo 5/16 and the mo 5/18? I'm stuck
*first
brb
the mo5/16 is a chocolate flavor in coffee
don't have the 5/18 yet myself
lo 6/24 anyone, please?
It's an alternate spelling of the mo/16, apparently. Ends the same as a to and a co, though.
i wouldn't know about a coffee flavor. i don't drink it. chances are i haven't heard the word either.
The lo/6 is a Gaelic term for a small lake. Seems like we have a lot of odd watery words today.
think **** Nest Monster
ty jan, for that 'lo'
YW, tina...
OK, time for work. Any more clues before I go?
friend you share chocolate with: cocomate
mo 5/18?
the lo, could you give a hint, not a definition, please
I clued the mo/18 at 11:14...
That seems like a sound basis for a word, BD Gwen
k
oh, sorry. I did't see it. ty
Gwen, now *there's* a word we actually need, unlike some of the c's today...
have 3 left, and just can't see them, time to go to the list
the lo6 begins with the lo4 before it and ends with **other two letters
maybe i should start making chocolate for a living. got the brand already LOL
Sure, chocolate plus freindship. What's not to like?
endorphins plus more endorphins!!
ho5,12 and mo6,27?
mo+scottish lake
finally got firewroks, time to melt the rest of my brain with ironsudoku
ty madi
ho + a babble friend Cyber***
ho5/12 : h+C**** the Barbarian
thanks again
Yay pabtrek!
back... and the c's are still here.... hohum
yw
That mo is one of my favorite words. It's a biblical word for a false god that requires parents to sacrifice their children. And by extension, any idea that would sacrifice the future for the present. Quite useful.
these m words are making me mad.
I can't see anything today
Even more than the c's? If it weren't for the c's today, I'd have been m/4/5ing about the m's.
yeah. more than the c's
c's are making me mad
lo6.24? please.
For a short grid, this one is nasty. Lots of faux words.
BBnaz, several clues just below here in chat.
lo 6/24 was clued at 11:15
finally found that last co5. sectional furniture
lo6 is the Scottish lake (lo4) plus a vowel and a hump letter
Honestly, that co5 took me forever and I was really, really annoyed with myself when I finally found it (thanks to jan's clue)
so its a derivation then
I think the problem with the m's and c's is that there are two of them, so you can batter yourself working off the wrong one, even with the list.
thanks
yep, jan. that's my problem with them
co5,22?
is there another clue for the last ch 5/14 ?
You're right - most of my issues have been from starting in the wrong place
right now, i'm tackling 3rd column m's. Nastly little things, they are. I've got 9 of 13
7 to go. must say ch4 for now **poink**
Bye all, good luck and see you tomorrow.
mamabear it's c+ "iced tea or *** *ea?"
okay, not one of my better clues :)
bye jan, ty for the clues
bye gwen
thanks tina!
yw, mamabear
FIREWORKS!! Yay!
yay tina!
Time to go play with the kids some - they've been really nice to let me stay on the computer so long this time of day. bye ya'll!
i'm still trudging through the m5's any help?
i must be off, anyway. bye everyone.

What diminutive ending?
that's what I'm missing too smoove.
Hi everyone!
hi niamh
cocoant doesn't work
diminutive means small, this ending could also be feminine
like the ending of the dance you do on your toes, only backwards
need help with co 5/22

a dance you do on your toes....
katydid - i feel just as confused
and you wear a tutu?? (I suppose it's not all on your toes)

I am brilliant. I went out for my 30th yesterday. I had 'high tea' at the Windsor with my g.f then last night my b.f and i went back to the city and we went to the Eureka Sky deck (88 floors up) and went out in a glass cube lift and looked out over the city, then we went to Nobu for dinner. How are you Margetta
Oh that sounds wonderful. Happy belated birthday. I am good.
Thanks. I had the best day/night. I did everything i wanted to do.
That is great. I have never had High Tea and have always wanted to do that.
Are you in the states Marjetta?
yeah, in Atlanta Georgia
Nothing like being able to finish a grid on your b-day!
Oh um are you the one that does the conventions?
I have heard of a place here that does High Tea, but they are quite expensive
Yes I am Herin
http://tinyurl.com/2zl85j here check this site out on Tea rooms
Sorry Marjetta late night early am (i had to make coffee for b.f as i forgot to return his towel to the bathroom, did it as on apology)
Oh!! Thank you so much
cool I know about the apology thing
Good evening, Happy Babblers
I've got 12 left and I'm eager to see my first video! May I have a clue for the 2nd ch 5/14?
I just googled it. It seems that i am going to need a lot of money to tour OS as i have friends from Atlanta to Cali so yes rather expensive
Hi Krista
LOL It is always expensive to travel. That is why I don't get to do more of it.
Happy bday, herin
Um well i do want to visit all the states and i would need to start in New York down to Carolina, up to Atlanta, Denver, down to Texas, Idoha (I think) then Cali so i need a year and a scad of cash
Thank you Krista
Will someone clue me the 2nd ch 5/14, please?
Will someone do the C words for me

Yeah we want to go back to Europe. My husband is from Germany. We also want to go to Asia, namely China, Thailand, & India. We would also like to go to Australia, New Zealand, and several other places. The list could go on for days.
Txs bubba
Yeah AUs is a big place
I, all
*Hi, All
I did it again. Sorry bubba.
Hi pam
Hi Pam!
Hi, herin
Herin--without going into any details, is Xanika ok? Thanks!
This grid is small with teeth
Hi, Krista
Did the trolls ever get theirs?
Anyone have a clue for the ho 5/12?
LOL--good description for any number of things, herin!
Yes Xanika is all good. It all got sorted.
That is a very colorful (and true) description, Herin!
Thanks, please tell her I am glad.
h + c**** the barbarian
Krista--LOVE the icon
My cat is using my foot as a butt rest. Will do Pam
LOL, herin
Thanks, Bubba
Like your clues, Bubba. Thanks! TY, Pam..it's cute, isn't it?
yes, it is, Krista! Figure my "daily" icon actually works with the theme today, LOL
Its great if shes asleep i slide a foot/feet under her and i get a toasty toe warmer
Bubba, I'd be careful about putting all that personal info out on the internet like that (in your profile).
rofl, krista
Krista, just that kind of person, want it to all hang out
I didn't think I'd find any pic I liked, but that reminded me of books from when I was little (when the earth was still cooling).
Lol Kirsta
Yeah, well, just be careful, Bubba.
Especially on here ;)
Don't worry Krista, I am three days older than dirt according to my children
Hey, global warming is a knee-jerk liberal cause celebre designed to draw attention away from the real problems--civil rights
Marjetta do the i had to walk to school up hill, it was really bad on a hilly day
Ha! Now THAT'S old, Marjetta!
Did you see Oprah today, Pam?
No, I was hard at work, LOL, Krista
What was featured?
Or was that hardly working Pam
LOL--no, herin, work has been brain sucking
Just for herin, I had to walk to school uphill, both ways. And the snow here in Georgia was at least 3 inches deep. LOL
Oh, that WORK thing, Pam! Gay around the Globe or something to that effect. I missed the first half but am hoping to catch it late tonight.
Ha ha. My b.fs Grandfather pulls that one. My b.fs dad says ' i had to walk to school everyday' His mother likes to add ' I gave you money for the tram but you were too tight to spend it'
Thanks, Krista. If I am not totally transformed into jell-o by the nature of the work thing, I will try to remember to ask you about it tomorrow...
Scoops up Pams brain and hands it back to her
Honestly, herin, I am not afraid of a hard day
's work, or a hard two months' but it is getting brain draining. On the other hand, it is getting better and the new systems are better.
Poor Pam i hate brain draining days
I quit work a few months ago, but I am honestly more exhausted from staying home with the kids. Well, maybe a different kind of exhausted. It's very hard for me to sit at a desk.
Do you at least have regular hours, Pam?
hi all- ch5/14, the one after ****terbox
HI Lideo
I had trouble with that one all day, Lideo!
You still here, Bubba? What was the clue you gave me?
ch5 /14 to repeat something over again like a mantra
i've been monkeying- just can't seem to get it
ch+vowel+ Jennifer Lopez is "J-**"
ch + vowel + what they call Jennifer Lopez, J-**
the next 5/14 after that

co5,16 is what this is called -----> ,
oh, sorry..it's the second one
Yah Lisa
Thank you all so much! I could never do it without the clues in chat!
But I learned how to do an arrow in chat------>
co 5,16 a dog is also called a Po***
oh dear dead from cuteness
ummmmm co5/16- its what some women call their hoohaa, their nether regions
ROFL!! I actually did try that once, but added a "t" hahahaaaa
thanks Bubba and Lideola
What's up, Herin?
I liked Lideola's clue better
aha...i found you guys!
hoochie *****ie dance
The word "hoohaa" alone makes me laugh
Hi Nutter Butter
sup my peeps?
its not even like I call it a hoohaa- its just- well, what else are you gonna call it in here?
ok Herin, what has you bowled over by cuteness?
i could think of a few things lid
My mother's word for it was "Susie." Gawd. I still feel awkward when I meet someone with that name.
my names susie!
omg thats what my nieces call it
you aren't from the philadelphia area are you?
my girls call it a tweet
they made that up by themselves
muff, binkie
binkie?
Too funny, Lid! I'm in Maryland..close enough, maybe....I don't believe you, nut.
like a pacifier? lmao
too bad krista...i already feel the awkwardness building
binkie, that's what my mil calls it
i just call it twat
;9
Wow, it shows even through here, Nut ***looks away***
A good Babble word..in the grid often!
i had a small debate in here a little while ago about whether twat was as vulgar as cu**, i think cu** is WAY more deragatory
oh yeah, I agree
because twat is my nickname for my soon to be step mil
i like twat personally, the c word i can take or leave, but twat sounds funny...like squat
i really have to stop drinking coffee after 6 pm
twat is so close to twit, it makes it more amusing than vulgar to me
the funniest term I've ever heard is "scooter," which my niece made up..funny because that word comes up a lot..
oh yeah, i call it twazzle a lot too
hey Feather, glad you could join us in such a highbrow conversation :)
twaddle here sometimes
feather baby pie!
its all tweet in my house
heck yeah!
hee hee
ex step MIL..had to ponder that one
sooo... hubby's ex step mom?
or are you soon to have an ex husband?
oh wait..u never said "ex"
no
no ex
my husbands father's fiance
she's a twat
lol and i'm just going off of what you said krista
too stupid to be a cu**, so she's a twat
anyone need any clueing?
i'm getting shocked...no that's not the right word.
yeah, I can make anything confusing, Feather!
personally hate the c word. Sounds dirty and I wash mine regularly
lol hshliz!
coco
oops
ty coco
oh my gosh..I'm laughing so hard...
ok all- i am off to work-have a great evening/day
hi, again... nut, I am with you. I can take or leave the c word and twat works.. did not look up the whole chat som I don't know how this began, BUT LOL
yer welcome
well pam, it started with hoohaa
and a clue for one of the co words
i officially declare it a twazzle
some older folks call it their "bird"
that reminds me of a twizzler
thats for boys lilmonkey
at least in my book it is
i've heard older women say bird too
like twat....it's a cute word. And mine is cute I've been told, as I can't exactly see it well myself
that's in the hillbilly hills of Maryland
gonna take some of this caffeinated evergy and go to work...hshliz- get a hand mirror- its loads of fun
Hey, I'm in those hills, Monkey..and yep, my next door neighbor used to call it a bird
ROFL
where in the hills Krista? I was in Cumberland
so afraid someone'll walk in on me...aiming the mirror, angleing lights, etc. I'd have a permanent blush
I remember her yelling to my mother over the backyard fence (this would have been in the early '80's).."Have you seen those new bathing suits?? They'd have to shave their birds to wear those!!"
hahahaha
lmao
I"m in Hagerstown, actually in the valley..but we've still got the lingo
reminds me of Fried Green Tomatoes (the mirror scene)
can someone explain to me what those little thingies are next to your names, that look like a pink purse?
male/female?
male/female what
Good question...I don't know what they mean, either.
well they look like little purses
it is a person's head
pink for females
I am a female. I get a pink purse? Maybe the guys get blue purses?
It's a head with a torso
If you select a gender in the profile--for pros--a color is assigned
Yes, the guys get blue
hahahaha
i find that so funny
that's blue?
men get a blue purse
co 5/18?
Some of us have elected not to designate a gender--thus the olive green
ah
getting PC.....in case you can't decide yet on the gender
I have one more thing to say on the hooha topic..my husband is English, where fanny does NOT mean your butt...he is constantly laughing when he hears the word
"fanny pack" is his favorite
so what is a fanny in England?
"get your fanny over here"
hmmm I lived in England in the 60s but I'm not sure what "fanny" means in the UK
a hoohad
make that hoohah
ah ha
he must love the "name game"
HA! Never thought of that one.
anyone have a clue for the co 5/18? We must have scared off all the respectable people.
c + what you say when you hurt yourself
is that the co5 that is a piece of furniture you watch TV on?
kinda like the hoo hah word, but more in the furniture vain
Wow, monkey..you have lived all over..Cumberland...England...
i'm a Navy brat
thanks (can't believe I didn't see that one..think I'm looking for weird words now)
that must be exciting but difficult, monkey
no it was great fun
i keep seeing the 'hurt yourself' clue, but still don't get it
that
shoot
what do you say when you hurt yourself?
choot
that's good to hear, monkey..most people say how hard it was to change schools, always being the new person, etc.
O**H
nothin I can say in here!!
oh ok, already have that one, lol thanks
well, I enjoyed it. The hardest move was coming back to the US after 4+ years in England.
this is my 1st time playing this game
hello tracyk

herin said it best.."small, with teeth"
AAAAHHHH, Featherbee has stabbed me in my heart with my own Q in Scrabble online..............
k, skipping it then!
yep..slap me, Bubba
bwahahaha!!!!!
hi, scrabs and feather
s'ok scrabs, yesterday i was being fully trounced in about 3 different games. yours was the only game i was doing well in.
It seems easy at first, but then you hit the wall of bizarro words....those 'q's' hurt, don't they
mo5,12 mo + double consonant + vowel
well...she DID leave the Q in line with a triple word...
I am dripping blood, Feather...oh, how it hurts. (Being dramatic.)
Hi Pam--go Red Sox!
yes, go sox!
lol!
But I HAD to use the Q and that was my only chance.
you sure that's not the last 5/12, Bubba?
what was your word, Feather?
you could have just done qua, lost a few points, but kept the q out of the triple line
Mo5,12 also is a small speck like the kind you get in your eye + consonant
mo 5/12 is mo + cross letter + vowel plus cross letter
got it! thanks Bub and Min
thanx for the clues everyone
yw
Now the teacher is telling me what the safer move was.....waaaaahhhhh.
Featherbee, how many tiles do you have left?
Does anyone have a clue for the co 6/27 word please
5 left. mouseover our names in the scorebox
4 left..this feels like work now
make sure to refresh the page first
ma 5/12?
don't feel bad! you're keeping me on my toes, i can't be lazy or you'll catch up! and you're being so defensive on the board, it's very hard to find a spot
The ma 5/12 word is ma 4/5 plus a vowel krista.
ma5,12 is the sme as the last mo5,12 just change the vowel
dang..thought I had tried that one..ty Min
and Bubba
You are welcome for that Q in line with the triple word, by the way. (Groveling for a thank you.)
yw
im lost
lol, oh yeah, thanks!
will have to learn a whole new internet lingo
ok, I'm just going to be shameless and ask for help with the last three..co 7/40...c0 7/36...co 4/7
they're talking about Scrabble, tracy
i'm playing so many simultaneous scrabble games that i just told hurshy it was her turn....she couldn't figure out why she couldn't see where i went, until i realized i was playing on my game with fran, not her!
I was talking about the Mo whatever number and ma blah blah number

Since we are cluing some co words, can I have a clue for the co6/27 word please.Asked before at 7:58 PM.
co 6,27 ordinary, everyday, not special
In England they have the house of co****s
hi all, i'm new here...can you fill me in on the shorthand? like co 4,7
got them all but co 7/36...
co4,7 or co4/7 means it starts with co, is 4 letters long and 7 points
got it!
see the link to lickety's babble clues in the lower left corner, under "friends of babble"
co 7/36 is co 4/6 plus double consonant plus a vowel.

Does the chat feature on Scrabble still stink?
ok, i'll unblock strangers...mine is in my profile
clues for co7/40 pleez?
we're doing an email game krista, so it notifies by email when we do a move, and saves it over the course of days. so yes chat works, but it needs to be refreshed every time.
co7,40 =co + what a person who is unresponsive after a brain injury is said to be in + consonant
this is through the scrabulous site
The co 7/40 word is co 4/6 plus ***t Damon lil*monkey
never knew there was such a thing..cool, Feather..I remember the chat being temperamental on the online game...Bubba..that one looks good, too..not sure why I never heard of that one
I tried that freerice.com website and it's pretty cool
that would be more my speed...I'm not a quick thinker anymore
(email game)
Hi All- back for my last 32
thank you minver
scrabbler, you can IM me so that i have your screen name on my buddy list. then next time we see we're both on at the same time, we won't have to annoy chat here!
BTW, anyone who wants to chat with me via AIM, now is the time to say hello. i normally block all users who aren't on my buddy list.
I have to update AIM and that is slowing me down....pretty soon.

last MO 5/12 is an old old word for the moat I think, around a castle. think of an applesauce brand in the U.S.
sneeze woulf....
thanks praise
A vocal composition in polyphonic style, of course, Praise!! Add a consonent to the MO4 before it.
yw
MO + double cons + vowel
I hate enables inconsistencies with onomatapoetic words!
I am totally wrong on my definition, but the spelling is right. It means "a grove or clump of trees in prairie land or open country. "
and it's an anagram of the musical composition.
Sorry, I guess I've been cluing the wrong MoO for you Praise,Stid's clue should crack it for you though.
How are the kids, Woulf? are they (and you) ready for Hallowe'en? I'm not, strangely apathetic about it this year...
*MO
anyone got a clue for the co 5/22?
Halloween prep is always last minute here, but Kristianna is excited about being a black cat for the occasion ever since I got her a black panther mask from the local zoo
CO 5/22 uses the Z tile
BBL...work to do!
later liz!
what fun! she'll be an amazing panther, with all those curls!
Overall we are all well, though Seb is getting very dangerous in his climbing forays -- he has fallen off the top of a short bookcase we have twice!
got it finally
ty everyone
She actually has fewer curls right now -- she just got her first haircut.... gramma took her, and while she looks good, me and momma agree that they could have been left a little longer
CO 5/22: rows and co*umns + **baglioni (The name of a thick pudding-like dessert from italy)
thnx

hi gwen!
co7,36 anyone?
howdee stid!
I am a little (trifle, tad, somewhat) disappointed in the ease and size of the last few grids, though it was handy since I didn't have much time.... hope tomorrow's will be bigger/harder!
hi Gwen
co 7/36 is the "nut" tree + end of word for flirtatious woman, coque***
ty stid . . . adding to my list of silly words . . .
LOL me too -- was certainly unexpected!
hello
hi harp
hi harp!
hi harp
so once again the web has proved its usefulness to me
mo6,27 anyone?
woulf, stidkid#1 is reading a "coming of age" book for his english class... it's interesting (by an author local to us), and if you can find it in the library, it might be fun for you too (though I have only read the first five chapters so far). The Highest Tide by Jim Lynch
what did you learn from the web today Woulf?
I was trying to teach Kristianna the words to a Halloween song I remembered from elementary school, but blanked on half the lyrics
mo 6/27 is mo + **** lomond (scottish water feature)
so I plugged the title into google and there it was!
*grin* I have had to look up nursery rhymes on occasion...
hip hip hooray, ty stid
I will see if the book is available around here, stid
the top of the book says "National Bestseller" so I am hopeful. He certainly describes our area well... from the mud to the critters.
It is a cute song -- Kristianna loved what I remembered of it -- the title is "The Wobblin' Goblin"
done, gwen?
hm. *dashes off to look up song*
and that's the fire and the works for yours truly
those ARE cute lyrics!
YAY gwen!!!!
adding mo6 to my list of silly words, too
Yayyy for Gwen
I always thought the mo6 was a proper name for a demon
I thought the LO6 was pretty peculiar, too.
aha! that's where I had seen that word before woulf! thanks. It was really bugging me not to know why I "knew" it.
2nd CO 5/14?
plenty of weird words in today's grid
co5 = the tele*** bill + firth two letters of how many fingers you have
phand: another spelling for "count" as in the co*** of mo*** crist....
firth = first (oy)
and the co 5/12 that follows is the same meaning with third letter changed
i actually monkeyed the co7,40 and the co5,22 !! and I'm not usually good at monkeying
Sorry to solve and run folks, but I keep fuzzing in and out of the chat -- it has been rough at work the past few days and I am wiped out
well done gwen! I could neither monkey nor find either co 7 today. needed serious hand-holding on both
lie down, GW!
{{{{Woulf}}}} sending you peaceful rejuvenation. Sweet dreams, friend!
still don't know what a co7,40 is and I'm too lazy to click on it LOL
thnx
Okey dokey -- {{**HUGS to all**}} ttfn
It's sorta a "duh" gwen... precisely what it says!
just clicked on it. NOT impressed. Incredibly dull, actually.
Hand-holding request here!
Hi, all
LOL but for once it's not obscure... I am going to go play Chicken Invaders soon.
yes Jellen?
I learned a new word today--yestreen
the co5,22 is way interesting comapred to the co7,40 LOL
ask quickly....
irish word harp?
chicken invaders? is that a video game or something you have to do in the back yard at night? 8-)
ch5/14, the second and third?
ah. Scots. so gaelic, anyway
well, it's in webster's, scottish origin "yesterday evening"
ch5 rhymes with game played on horseback
it's a video game on yahoo... A good way to completely take up my brain so I don't overload with worry. I am feeling anxious tonight for some reason.
ty, Gwen
the first ch 5/14 is ch + han s*** of millenium falcon
another ch5, rhymes with bon mo***
ty again, Gwen!
(bows to jellen)
the second ch 5/14 is like marge sch***, former owner of the cincinnatti reds
co 5/14, the first?
so, this chicken invaders game -- do you shoot the chickens or eat the chickens? (or both?)
jellen, hot chocolate
oh, gwen's clues are way better! LOL I'll go play my game and see you-all later. you shoot the chickens. before they drop bombs on you. My most violent game. LOL
good night all!
didn't see that A. Thanks, Gwen.

Me, too. At least I have some pain meds. I was trying to tough it out without them. Have a virus and pleurisy.
