the problem with these studies is that they suggest that an observation *causes* the result. It doesn't neessarily follow that way. The dogs could be fine, it could be exposure to dog food, dog leads, being outdoors more etc etc

Epidemiological studies like that are fraught with problems. They are interesting if done right, but not something to base a decision on ....like getting rid of your dog.
Another unrelated study in Norway showed a very high level - 53.3% - of breast cancers in 14,401 female dogs
( yeap I know ata... I took stats too in university... lord how I hated it... did well..then turfed the info out of the grey matter as soon as I finished the exam )
so contact with dogs is correlated with cancer in dogs as well?
aha! so when a dog gets breast cancer it gets trasnferred to the owner!

well, they shift personnel again this week -- the guy who was the site manager was demoted to being the shipper, but still needs to be trained in the role
