FM What time is it where you are /
Hello jilli, I always aspired to do dressage but my pony was not made of such things, she was happy riding and jumping but not dressage.
jilli so lovely to see all these horses here today, thankyou for your most informative icon really appreciate what you put there for us to read
and i was too shy to do dressage loved to ride but competitions no wish i had now
we had a Russian cavalry officer teaching riding in S'hai -- I loved it but then there was the trip to England, the war, off to the USA -- end of riding.

hello mar
HI Mayne
Hiya spritey....just back from my son's wedding in Vegas!
hello 1Mar.
Glad to help Book but the b.f may kill me if i buy stuff without asking.
hi herein
Lore hello :)
herin........dying to know what the "b.f's " name is....
oh 1Mar, congratulations! How did it go, was he gorgeous, was the bride beautiful, and and and???
Mar Brendan
oh it and they were sooo beautiful.....in the garden in the morning at Caesar's Palace
why do you not just call him that, then?
yes sprite hows your back you just missed volley she asked that we pray for her dentist lung cancer and her daugther job interview
unless you are a vampire and can come back no deaths please herin.
http://tinyurl.com/5jfz76 I just found this fascinating blog on the Olympics It answers all sorts of quirky questions 'Where did Cullen Jones go?, why do divers shower'
wowie 1Mar :D May they live a happy life together.
Ok i promise not to haunt the babblers
thx spritey!
no worries herin i got my garlic!!!
lobo: back refuses to get back to normal. Sorry to have missed Dee, and will pray for both.
Mar, pleased to hear your sons wedding was lovely and enjoyed by all.
lady, if you die, I demand that you come haunt me. I would miss you too much otherwise.
ty elder!
Sprite... do you think ... money allowing or a referral from your doctor that physio would help.?
Ok not to self. Not going to became a vampire incase the legend of Garlic being poison would be bad
babble could use a good haunting. It might make the grid more interesting some days.
mmmmmmm.....garliccccc
will ask next week, I will be seeing my therapist then and she is a physiotherapist as well.
Sprite.. yes do that, it may help.
I smell of garlic right now. My daughter and I ate shoarma yesterday, with my own home made garlic sauce. Viciousssss :D
Herin, garlic.. yummy....the smell the taste...
Sprite.... I could eat you then, to save cooking :)
roflol elder! At your own risk, though :)
Sprite.. as you may know, cooking is not my forte, what is Shoarma?
shwarma?
JustMar Kababs
may be spelled differently at your part of the world. Small ribbons of lambs meat, spiced, and roasted. Originally from Israel.
I would like to make it clear that I do not usually eat humans. !!
of lamb?
not unless they are irresistably smelling of garlic, elder, we know :)
I know it well spritey
http://tinyurl.com/brmrs
Wordly translation for Spritie
DO not know this food what ever way it is spelt , sounds lovely but of course I would not eat it .. being vegetarian.
evening all :)
In Israel they roast it on a vertical spit and slice it off as needed
PRESSSSSSSSSOE
hi infern!!!
they roast it in huge hunks of meat, layered. And when the outside is done, they cut it off, roast it a little more in a very hot pan and then it is done. Sooooo good.
hello Mr P....:)
hiya MrP
sounds like gyros here in the US.
maybe like kebabs?
thanks lady, hi mrp
ello mrp how goes it?
Making me feel peckish...
are you enjoying the olympics?? we have them on at a great time during the day and evening! I likey
yes spritey....delicious
hi sprite :)
gyros looks like it, but tastes differently, other spices and maybe other meat.
hi lore :)) and elder and mar et al :))
http://tinyurl.com/brmrs THis is the words definitions of SPrites fud
yes that's right spritey...think gyros is more Greek than Israeli
had the nurse come again today, she made the SAME mistake! I am well and truly over this!
in the netherlands, kebab is something different.
Mr Pres my channel 7 is dead at the moment (praise all things pink and shinny)
PResie I have good news.
tell me do
OK Facebook of all places I got a message. I am adopted. On friday night my half sister rang me. I spoke to her and my birthmum
One has to bow down to the athletes, seeing them put their heart and strengths into their fields of sport..
Mr P.. nurse mistake ?.
very true, elder!
Here in Mtl..kebobs are cubes of whatever....chicken fish beef lamb on skewers with or without vegetable...grilled usually on a BB@
oh I heard about that! must have been wonderful to have contact !! have you been looking for your mum?
(and i spank your nurse too Pressie) Not really. I did look when i had facebook but never found anything
elder, she stabbed me in the boob on tuesday, and she did the same thing again today... missed the port completely! it is really sore! ouch!
oh my herin ...was that pleasant??? (I hope)
How friggen hard is it to find the port hole Pressie (death stares them for being so daft)
well, it is nice and heartwarming that she tracked you down ((hugs))
aww mrP....twice???
Mr P... good grief !! is she with sight !
Very pleasant Just very happy. There is 5 half sisters.
Nice!!!
here, kebabs are pieces of grinded meat, spiced and roasted. They are rather soft, compared to shoarma. And they have different spices. Also we know doner kebabs, which is a lot like shoarma, but uses other meat and other spices again.
Sadly my birth father is deceased *alcholism and she has no pics
well, apparently, it is really hard for this nurse! I am not a fat person, so the port is right there, visible even!! I am reporting it all to my doctor next week... hopefully they report it to the hospital
Herin... a whole new family.. are you planning to meet them face to face ?
Feeling more hungry...
oh I see spritey.....I know those too.....think our kebobs have been americanized!
One day at a time elder. Ok lovelys have to dissapear must go get more pc parts
I suspect that the port is deep, so they need a longer needle... how delightful
*makes elder a great veggie curry with basmati rice and lots of garlic.*
bye lady *hug*
but they're all delicious if good quality is there
how did you go with your letter to your dad sprite?? ((hugs)) did it all go well?
Mr P fat or thin, it's not that hard to find a port and place needle as required..
the letter turned out very well, mrP, thanks for asking. It was like giving birth, but harder. Have sent it about a week ago, haven't heard anything yet.
true elder... I will request a different nurse now.
hugs sprite for being so brave. HUGS and loves bye poof
Sprite.. that sounds ..... lovely... getting dressed will be round pronto to eat >>>
thanks lady :)
oh sprite! I hope that is cathardic for you! It would be great to send my mother a letter, but I suspect she would rip it up and be even more embittered
it is amazing of you to have the courage... am amazed by you yet again
I am so lucky ... I have a great relationship with my mother..... and I know she loves me ... unconditionally .
firewords. good night everyone. time for a midnight snack. something with garlic.
for me it was important to get it out AND actually send it to my father, to confront him for once. I have never dared to before. Whatever he does with it, or not, is up to him and I don't care much. For you, things are differently, I know. Follow your heart and your good sense, and I know you will do the right thing.
elder, as it should be darling, as it should be!
all I can hope for, elder, is that my kids will say that later :D
My Father, now that is a different and too long a story to embark on ..
wtg book!
Well done !!! bookworm.
I have the pleasure of a delightful, beautiful, intelligent daughter... I would never have thought a gorgeous person like her existed. I was reminded today that I am her mother and she is lucky too. It made me feel so good. I could never imagine for a moment letting go of my children, not for one minute!
ah elder... at least you have mum. I have my father and he is a wonderful man
Sprite... it was a brilliant act you did for yourself....it needed to be done and you climbed that mountain and made the descent * HUGS *
I have two rotten parents, but I had 2 lovely grandparents and I have many great friends now.
yes sprite, they will of course!! You will never let them go cause you know the pain. It makes for a permanent and everlasting relationship being through what you have.
I did, elder, and it feels good :) Slowly recuperating from it, it took more energy than I realised, but I feel stronger.
If you can't have both parents... one who is good and supportive makes up for the other.. well in my case it does..
I think so too, mrP. I will always love them and let them know they are much loved, whatever happens.
yay for your mum, elder :) And yay for yourself.
on a side note, I keep seeing ga4ba4 :)
haha! trust you sprite!
*grin* Yeah, well, what can I say ;) A dirty mind is a joy forever. I think we both learned the importance of loving our children unconditionally, mrP. And we have great kids :)
yes sprite, we certainly do :))
I have learnt through experience and my work, that any adult that provides the correct needs and wants for a child and the emotional attachment, provides for that child the strength to move forward, every child and adult needs to know that out there somewhere there is someone who loves them and thinks about them.
that is absolutely true, elder. There have been a couple of people in my life who didn't even do much, but just made the difference for me to decide to go on and not give up.
Sprite and that is the thought to hold onto when live is hard.....( hugs) .. Feeling quite emotional, when I touch this subject, for all the children who are struggling to find their way.
same here, elder. May there always be someone who cares enough to tell them and show them.
have tried to do that Sprite...
so is this grid going to be too hard ! :)
me too, elder. And we know it makes a difference.
::))))
AS parents ( me anyway) I have not been and will never get it right all the time, but we have to remember that the good stuff overrides the not so good stuff.:)
not sure about the grid yet. I am going through it relaxed, but not near the end yet. And I don't see how it can harbour biggies, lol.
Sprite.. goodness, just seen there is 8 and 9!!
I have learned that the worst thing a kid can have is a parent who doesn't make mistakes, or doesn't seem to. Of course we make mistakes. And if we admit it and apologise if we need to, it will only teach them good stuff. They don't need us to be perfect. They need us to love them and teach them about life until they are ready to venture out on their own.
the ta8 and 9 is easy though...
nice herb with chicken
hear hear !!! :)
hmmmmm thanks for the clue, mrP, will kick my mind awake to remember it :)
Mr P... cooking clues, don't help me LOL !!
good eve all im baccccccccckkkkkkkkkkk
I have learned through babble that spices and such can have very different names in different languages, lol.
Kiwi, sweetie, welcome back!
tara said goodbye... how is that for a clue?
How my children learnt to cook so well is a mystery to me LOL!
wb kiwi
they had to, to survive, elder, LOL
how are we all this wet miserable thundery lightning torrential rain eve that ive just been out and about in
Hello Groovy...
hi kiwi :)
LOL !!! quite..
Good morning all.
sounds like a great clue, mrP. A pretty and cryptic one. *kicks mind a little harder*
good morning frances great to see you here been a while
we had that last night, Kiwi, this morning is sunny and quiet. Seems Mother Nature has spend all her energy for a bit.
morning Frances!
good eve frances happy babbling nice to see you
Groovy, we here have had torrential rain too and its been chilly for August. today the sun is trying hard to make an effort to shine and warm the earth.
well we have been told that this storm which is supposed to last the next three days is bigger than the whole of australia lol
oh my, that is huge, Kiwi
oh joy for you kiwi! and cold as heck too... not nice for you all
Mr P.. all I can think of is... um... 'Gone with the wind'.:)
Hello Frances...
ahhhh got it! Good clue indeed, mrP.
Elder, that would be ***e with the wind. At the end :)
and not nicer too because i have been out playing taxi for the last two hours - one to hapkido the other to tae kwon do and back home again
no pleasant conditions for driving, Kiwi. Glad you are indoors now.
home indoors yes stoked the fire up ill be fine for another hour or so lol
ah, now luke wants to do hapkido... what is that like kiwi? suitable for a 9 year old?
MrP and Sprite... have logged the clues.. am sure it will come to me at some point.. thank you both..
the joys of parenthood kiwi that weather send it back to oz
elder: start with the black sticky stuff on the roads and end with ***e with the wind.
hapkido is much different to tae kwon do its more self confidence and self defence and kieran loves it - very discilplined towards self defence moves - there are no compeitions but you still go for the belts
great clue sprite
sounds like aikido, Kiwi?
thanks lobo, I got it thanks to mrP's clues.
i think they are very similar yes
self defense moves would suit him too... as would self confidence. Is the costume expensive?
dunno havent got one for him yet hes only been doing it two weeks lol but somehwere between $70-$100NZ ive been told
my kids do aikido and it is simply great. We even have 6 yo's in the group. It is strictly defensive, very good for self confidence. Simple judo outfit will do, not expensive at all.
once they got their black belt, they need the original outfit with special black trousers, but that will not happen for some years.
Got them both... it took too long for such an easy word .... you babblers are so patient >>::)
roflol elder! Yeah, patience, my middle name (NOTTT). But you weren't testing my patience at all.
has ruru been around tonite? wanted to know if he survived the body shots with lil monkey earlier lol
that would be ok then. I will book luke as he really wants to do it
body shots with lil*monkey??? Tellll me allll! And no, haven't seen him around.
:)
bbs girls... time to get dinner sorted

he will enjoy mrp
Bye for now MR P... :)
later mrp
welllll i popped in earlier today when iwas supposed to be working lol and lil was talking about having to go on the liquid and jello diet before her op friday
and we all decided what we would put in the jello and then it sorta got a bit............... and then ruru popped up out of the blue and started drooling over the jello shots and one thing let to another.... and next thing
lil is offering body shots in all manner of crevices lol
and then my boss arrived back at work so i had to scarper and never got a chance to come back lol
groovy.. :))
roflol, yeah, sounds like you and lil*monkey and ruru
lol i so love his sense of humour
me too, and lil*monkey is just as bad :)
had a ball about the icon themes with her and kje recently too. Just great.
i think she is worse sometimes rofl and then im worse sometimes so we are all as bad as each other
but ruru has really been good for me (being the token male in the late late show lol)
well, since I am always a very good girl, I wouldn't know :)
ahem??
*pats lobo on the back* Better now?
oooohhhh pb for sprite she lying to us lol
rurus good value dry humour
:: cough .. clears throat for Sprite.. :)
spritey telling porkies again MRP come back lol

hello again Frances..
No sprite and no cricket until Saturday and Sunday now.
sods law ! Frances.. how annoying.. but more time to play Babble.
Morning, folks!
hello Monkey..
Elder, babble has been a bit of a stranger recently. Nice to be back.
Nice to have you back Frances... :)
there we are, Kiwi and lobo, all set :) Stupid laws, Frances. Or do they need to protect the fields, as with soccer here?
Hi Monkey.
great to have you back with us, Frances
lol lobo, I had to remind myself you are loredana and not lobodana to most :d
that was meant to be a :D
Where is LoriP ?
LOOOOOOOri..... come!
Sprite running around a wet cricket pitch in spiked boots makes a real mess and upsets the groundsman ...and it can be quite dangerous.
yeah, in that case I understand the reason for the laws, Frances. But that doesn't make it any more fun :(
nova scotia come in bableland calling
Hence... rain stops play in England frequently.
35 to go need that cup of tea back later have fun no ga**ba**s while i am away some latin american dancing would be nice
ok im back
Bye Lore.....
Sprite the reference to 'sods law' is an expression we have here. In this instance because the game was cancelled because of the weather yesterday and today the weather is god.
it wouldn't be a good ga4ba4 without you, lobo :) We will wait until you are back.
*good
ohhhhh! Ok! I thought 'sods' like 'darn' :) *shamefaced look*
the weather IS God, too.
wheres lore going? oh cuppa time enjoy
Sprite.. sorry to confuse with the Sods Law and thanks Frances for clarification .
No probs. My pleasure.
don't say sorry when I don't understand something, lol. It is I who should say sorry, but at least I learned something new today again... babbling justified :)
and WB Kiwi!
im learning a few new words tonite especially in the g section lol
you already knew ga4ba4, don't play the innocent with me, young lady!
Sprite's oh, getting firm !!
Sprite, I keep seeing that too. What does that say about us?
im thinking more of the go ba4/5 lol
hehehe, that is how my kids turn out so great. Frances... errrr... that we have minds that are a joy forever?
::))

elder if your innocent im the queen lol
LOL !!!
you are, your majesty, you are. Did Lickety get back to you about the clue page and all?
aah, the stories I could tell, but would result in being banned for here LOL .

lol elder, now you have us going bananas from curiosity :D
cant get banned from the late late show but spritey can permanently PB you lolol
now spit em out lol
LOl LOL !!!
last I heard was no solution and the google pages will be down one of these days for good.
you would have to be very bad for me to do that, elder, don't worry. Only Kiwi can get that bad.
remind me when MRP comes back to see if he actually got my email lol
will do
must brb.... nature calls. Insistently.
Small one..and clean.... many years back ... cycling to work ( in the days of Mini skirts).. forgot to put knickers on.. wonder why I was getting so much attention from passers by and traffic.
cough cough splutter splutter rofl oh what a sight lol
I was mortified!, when I realised :)
i can only imagine
Groovy, the other day Lickety came in and i mentioned the offers he had from yourself and others, he said he was looking into options..
ty elder
i think ive forgotten the memorable embarrasing things or else they werent memorable enough to remember lol
back... and laughing ass off reading elder's story!!!
the funniest thing tho happened when i was 17 and at this time in my life i was a soccer groupie for the local under 21 team
Can anyone help me out with the D? Driving me nuts.
I recall chairing a very important meeting.. and in the process called the most important person in the room by their wrong name and continued to do so... and they had name tags on... boss was not amused... Person was pretentious anyway..
at least Lickety cannot complain about us not wanting to help. We will see. I don't really need the clues, but I do like Lickety Box.
and after one saturday match we headed off to a pub and i was the youngest and got through without having to show any idea and all the others - who were over age all had to show their id off to prove they were old enough
lol Kiwi
hey MG sorry not me havent got it yet
elder, that was no mistake, that was GOOD :D
OK!
nor me, MonkeyG. WIll go look.
OK again!

kiwi, he must have! I haven't had a chance to chat with him about google pages... cause he has been working on 3 projects for work from sun up to midnight. I truly hope google pages doesn't kick him off, but he has html stuff that they don't like on there, so is a matter of time when they get to babblexpert and disable it
and wedges
had mexican last night, nachos
Phantom: angst
Kiwi had some great ideas for solutions, mrP, as did some others. He doesn't have to solve it all by himself.
well please remind him of my email and that we have so many ppl here willing to donate money that there would be enough in there to host for probably a year through my host
let that be a phantom forever, MonkeyG :)
I don't like Google because of the grab of the almighty $
My husband left today for four days in Bad Doberan, Germany for the Zappanale. SO I can eat all the things he isnp't so fond of (like lamb chops) and even the things he thinks are too stinkyto have in the house (like smoked salmon and broccoli)

they are 12 hours ahead of me
best win so far? kayak for Togo!
not enjoying the pain in my arm... need to start physio me thinketh.... but then I see athlete's getting so badly injured doing what they do best.
kayak for togo?? oh no way!! the guy is from france!! has never lived in Togo!!!
Hang in there! Is it getting any better?
OMG - did you see china fall off the rings yesterday - I cringed!!!
lol
i missed that
oh it was awful!! today too kje... a bad bad fall
and the guy who dislocated his knee when the weights fell on him?? oh my!!
we may be talking about the same one mrp - I think what I see in the evening is what you see in the morning... I am behind : )
there was a guy today from china who fell from the parallel bars! fell bad!
i saw a guy hurt his right arm lifting weights - does anyone know if he broke it or not?
ouch - serious injuries?
and a guy who landed on his neck!! ouch!! today was bad for the gymnastics
hey kje?
so many falls.. I guess b/c they are doing bigger and faster moves
what?
they never say kje... like the guy from Columbia, his thumb wouldn't hold the weight bar... he tried to lift 7 times!! he couldn't lift it 1 inch!! his thumb gave up
i have begun researching escriptionist.com - so far go good - thank you for the info
yw - best of luck!
i have gone to the other site you gave me yet though
he sat down and cried
thank you sweetie
i haven't yet gone to the other site i meant
I got it - LOL
ding! brb
kk
according to percapita... australia is leading the olympics by 65 medals! lol!!
and some american chanels are broadcasting that the USA is leading the olympics! LOL... China are leading
and has been since day 1
US has most medals... china has most golds... by like triple!
aaahhh coffee!
but most of those are probably swimming - LOL
i've never been a coffee drinker - diet coke drinker here
I would love to know... and I really would... how many drug cheats are amongst that number. It is not something to discount, as some of the 'winning' countries are renowned for it
swimming is our forte too kje. we get many of our medals for that
they test them pretty rigorously don't they?
well, they are doing everything in their power to check - so would think they would find out
jean, it is something that has been avoided in China
i heard that HGH is like the fountain of youth - have y'all?
yep - saw the aussie women win the relay last night - beautifully done!
but during the games it is required
We make jokes about Walter being on pure HGH all the time...
what is HGH?
Human Growth Hormone
france who everyone siad should win came in like 4th or 5th! weird how sometimes people just fall apart
hey espritd
human growth hormone
hey nance
oh the girls winning was amazing, but three countries beat the world record in that race!! that was amazing!
Walter is of course flooded with the stuf, being as he is 4 years old (almost)
ha, yes... I wonder how it is being hidden now in athletes
o sorry mr p - i didn't see your question - well done covering me babblers - lol
hi jeanius!
hey MG! are you on facebook?
pretty sure someone secretly injected my ass with HGH
hey kje
LOL jean!
No... should i be
lol espirit
? that is...
no should/shouldn't - just a question
we play other games on facebook sometimes - big group of babblers over there too
Keep hearing about it, have not bothered checking it out yet.
I'll give it a glance soon!
so on second thought - the answer is shouldn't... who needs another way to waste time!
True....
Sigh.
brb - i'm going to fix some brownies before the house gets too hot this afternoon - brb
Oooooh, brownies!
mmmmm - wish I was at nance's
my kids are funny... they are criticising an outfit worn by a news reader... "it looks like a dove that has been run over by a car, eaten by hyenas, eyes pecked out by other birds, plucked and sprayed with air freshener, then shoved over her head to make what looks like a top"
ouch!
Wow! Must be some top!
well, it was quite...... ugly
at least they know good taste!! of a hyena anyway!
monkey will be so happy the fa4 /5 is in the grid - won't be able to keep her off it later tonight I fear : )
not you MG - lil'monkey
Me? Which one? Looking... OHHH! Odd anyway... I do not seem to have an fa4/5 but my f's are greyed. Hmmm.
fa 4 & 5
OH! My mistake.
no, my sloppiness : )
No, really, fa4/5 is impossible so I should have figured out what you meant.
Can anyone clue the second tr5/10?
I have not 1 tr so far : )
OK!
tr + number 1 with different vowel ending
OK - I have a tr5/10 - means across - usually a prefix
tr5 meaning across
Other one, but thanks folks!
will keep looking then
Oh wait, Mr. p's clue is for the one I need... looking..
second one for sure
TY mrp!
tr + 1 with diff vowel ending
That was it, thanks Mr. P!
yw !
and it takes a plural too
must be too early for me I don't get it
woohoo
Kje, I know you're a geriatrician and not a pediatrician, but can I ask... do you think such a long and slow improvement from a virus is normal in a four year old? We are into the sixth week of Walter's illness, and with some bad days still he is steadily but slowly improving...
you done kje??
no mrp - just needed to woohoo
monkey, it is normal... it can take some kids 6 months to recover... it has been affecting my nephew for over a year
depends on what he had MG - but as a clinician, I would be looking for other causes... not aggressively, but a blood smear would be in order
well..... WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
hey Monkey, sorry to intrude, but get Walters tonsils/ears checked out....4/5 g/kids were the same....xx
but... my newphew has had croup for a long long time... sometimes things can develop into more aggressive bugs
the most important thing is that he is getting better.... bad things do not generally get better, they get worse - so he is doing well!
Well,it turned out NOT to be mono, Mr. P. We do not know what it has been. I guess I will give it until next week and without dramatic improvement I'll take him back in. The thought of getting him through another blood test hgives me teh shudders, though.
the doc has already done an exam diz, I believe
okies
Diz, those have been looked at weekly throughiut this
Thanks kje. I just worry about things that SEEM to get better, like Lyme. Don't want cognitive and heart problems!
monkey, I am sorry you are going through this, as much as the little one is too, but he won't remember
back - brownies are in the oven - hey to anyone i missed entering
nance, if we could get food into this country, I would be begging for some brownies
this is not typical for lyme's from what you have described... but you need to talk to your MD about your concerns and he/she can do the proper exam, history, testing as needed
He might, Mr. P... I remember going to the Havasu reservation with my aunt when I was three. But if he does I'm sure it will be with a clinical perspective, knowing my boy.
maybe i can fly them in on a stealth
any real risk to tick bites? any rashes? any joint swelling? - that is typical lymes by 6 weeks out
doctors either give too much bad news, or not enough information... it IS a guessing game for most... I believe they guess for 95%
I remember crying and screaming for hours cuz I thought I was going to get a shot when I was 4 - turned out to be an oral booster - LOL - put my mom through hell
OK, kje, although we have the highest rate of infected ticks in this hemishere I do not know a lot about the clinical poresentation. No rash, but 20% don't get it. Joints by 6 weeks? Fine then, he has no joint pain. I rest reassured. I think I'll ring the doctor tomorrow during his phone-in hour. Just to discuss what he'd like to see in a recovery rate.
and I was quite embarrassed as well
who is ill mr p?
My son, Na5, but he's getting better. I just worry too much.
monkey... what is he experiencing right now??
Great story, kje! You poor kid, and your poor mom...
i hope he continues to improve - i'll say a prayer
MG - I say this with love - but stop reading the internet for now - you are going to freak yourself out!!!! go see your doc and let him/her know your concern and let them do their job - you will drive yourself crazy
Now he still complains about the sore throat, he tires very easily, he's grumpy, and he's pale.
Well, OK, but I am good at it. Most doctors hate people who look online but I used tow ork for vets and I CAN research responsibly.... Let me tell you a funny story.
that is just like my daughter... I took her off all foods, and started her again. start with pear and apple
you must not discount something in the environment
I'll look into it, Mr. P.
get pillows that are allergen free and dust mite covers... vacuum the room every day... I kid you not
no - I do not hate informed patients - I generally love them! but being inforned about what you know you have is very different than worrying - I just hate to see you worrying so much
my daughter and my nephew are allergic to dustmites and suffer badly... flu like symptoms, tired and very sore joints
I will try that, mr P. And I try not to, kje. Tell you something else in a minute... The funny story-- I took every "symptom" that had been bugging me. You know, the stuff that's "wrong with" everyone over 35. Occasional stiff knee, blurry right eye (have glasses now), periodic fatigue, you know, all the little stuff, and entered it into a symptoms check page just for fun. Turns out I have Gulf War Syndrome. Hee hee!
go back and see your doc... let them know his history as it developed and progressed (over 90% of diagnosis are known after a thorough history) and do a complete exam, and order testing as needed... let them worry, it is their job : )
kje?
LOLOL MG - exactly! in med school we call it second year syndrome... when the students are learning pathology and think they have every disease the y study... everyone has some kind of minor symptomatology all the time
is 40mg of prozac enough to battle depression after several years of being on it?
you need to hang your shingle in here - lol
nance, 40 gm is 2 tablets a day?
I know I worry too much about Walter. It might come from him having a collapsed lung at 1 day old.... That was a harrowing time. I do not let it make me overprotective, though. He's a boy, they need to skin knees and get their hands dirty. As for a history, I did bring in a carefully formulated chart with timelines and treatments and the like, which the doctor kept. I'll ring him today or tomorrow.
I also used to groom dogs for a living. The feeling of ticks and fleas crawling all over one WHEN THEY ARE NOT THERE can take days to go away.
i was taking two 20's but my new doctor i got when i moved back here put me on one 40 in the morning
dose is not the same for everyone - some require more, some less... if you do not think you/someone else is adequately treated, ask for a referral to a psychiatrist
it can change... some people take 100 a day. If it is working, stay with it. if it isn't, ask for a change in dosage or meds
instead of having my dosage increased by my family doctor?
Actually, I see that the doctor's phone in hour starts in 15 minutes; might just call him today. Oh no wait, he doesn't have open office Thursdays-- some sort of diabetes workshoop or something.
one 40 in the morning is ok. it is the same dosage, but for the morning... it will help you sleep
hormones work - i miss hormones
or discuss it with your FP - but 2 years is a long time to futz around
okey dokey - thank you
email me your bill, sweetie
Sorry to bug you on here in your off-work time, by the way.
me, too. it's rather rude of us. sorry.
I started it. Sorry.
I'll be good now.
i will be good, also. :o)
BTW - just FYI - I do not mind discussing general advice... but I will not give specific advice or diagnosis online - I do not think it is smart... I do not have full histories, cannot see people, do not know tests, do not know the full story of what has/hasn't been tried, etc... it makes me anxious to make assumptions with little information as I would never want to hurt anyone out of wrong assumptions... I will most often tell you to find a good doc, go back and discuss more, etc... just so you know : )
why does fencing take up all the olympic game days?? .... it must be a blody ancient sport!
good fyi, kje
very good way to approach it kje!
the olympics are bloody ancient mr p
Hi everyone. Interesting chat. reminds me of the story of the mom who want a diagnosis of her son's rash over the phone. The doctor was quiet for a minute and then said, "Mrs. Smith does my tie match my shirt?"
but fencing???? all day everyday??? for god's (of olympiad) sake!
I always thought fencing would be a cool sport - kinda romantic in a way
Of course!!!!!! I would also not rely on advice gained in such a manner. But hearing things like, "That seems typical, I wouldn't worry yet" or "That sounds odd, talk to your doctor" are very useful.
thank you kje
hey lady & mich
hey mama
And thank you very much.
hi nance
Hi Nance
monkey, is normal to ask. It can be overwhelming otherwise
Here it is swimming, Mr. P. All the time.
hi natss and mich
brb - have to check our lottery numbers
please, I do not mean it as a rebuke or anything... I just want you to know where I come from so you don't get frustrated if I always say... talk to a doctor - LOL
I'm kinda not really here... it's 5:23 am and I am to get up to get ready for work in an hour
oh yes, swimming 24/7... same here hun
I suppose it would help if we were surrounded by family, but it's just us 3 on this continent.
Hi MrP. I didn't mean to offend anyone.
Of course, kje!! Not that a rebuke would necessarily be out of order-- but I didn't see or infer one! It's good advice.
it can be so hard monkey... is great to talk to people about it... to get some form of help
it is scary to be alone
Hiya peeps
mich, I don't think you offended?? did you fa4?? LOL
hi movieman :))
LOL mrp - such a lil monkey remark!!!
hi movie
Monkey, where are you from? I am alslo far away from family but my friends have grown to be a replacement family. (My mother in law & sister in law moved here not long ago but I don't think that helps...)
Anyone got the 8 and 9 yet?
I'm just getting wussy about it. I'll buck up. Maybe it's because Danny's gone for 4 days and Walter's angry about it.
I always wish I had a mum when I was first with little kids... would have been easier (in my mind) if I had had family
Cute Mr.P If I did fa4 I wouldn't admit it!
movie, it is ta8 and 9... a herb.... cryptic clue is tara has left
Mich, I am from California. We have been living in the Netherlands for 15 years. Two years agow e moved cities, and our good friends are too busy to see much. Bu tI'm starting to make some new friends.
I agree mrp - it amazes me how families make it without relatives nearby!
oh I would! I would never let a good fa4 go to anyone else's credit!
danke, mrp
my parents help out my siblings a lot with their kids
OK, now, for the record, my mother here would be a downright fiasco...
But a family group of nearly any kind would be nice.
yw movie!
ooo - one of my favorite herbs!!! TY
Wow Mr.P thanks for the 8 & 9, I'm surprised I missed those - love ta8!
monkey, you wait... having your kids growing up and being close to you is going to ROCK!!
did you know starwars doesn't work?
wait - that herb isn't here....
ta8 is soooooo nice with chicken/garlic/brandy
oh - there it is!!!
so is kje!
It's hard to be alone. We're in the same house for 19 yrs and I didn't want to move when we had to. I was lucky - my next door neighbor decided to move so now we are in a double apartment!
I make a linguine with clam sauce and fresh herbs loaded with tarragon, parsley, chervil... OMG!!! I am salivating
It's one reason I keep taking Walter to daycare when I'm at home during the summer, and I'm glad he starts school next month: more and more varied friends for him, what with the lack of cousins and all. I hope we get the chance to think about another one, maybe, but I'll be 40 when I get my degree and will have to work a bit before we could even think about it... but a brother or sister forwhen we're gone could be good for him.
oh kje!!! sin bin for you!!!!
Uh Oh! KJE to the penalty box!
You SAID the word, kje!
naughty naughty naughty girl!!
Sounds good though...
I cannot believe I did that!!! I got carried away with culinary delight!
MG - how old is Walter?
'S okay. I sais the na4 bread earlier.
Yes Monkey I know what you mean. Your circle will iopen up a lot when you have a kid in school. My youngest was born when I was 39.
He'll be 4 next month.
They start public school the day after their 4th birthdays here.
s
Are you in school full time, Monkey?
rough age for dh to be gone...even just for 4 days
our kids go to school as long as they are turning 5 before 31st May
the day after? do they school year round?
Gotta check something in the oven. BRB
I have school every Thursday all day, and work an unpaid internship for 2 days a week. Lots of homework too.
link to recipe... http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food /views/LINGUINE-WITH-CLAMS-AND-FRESH-H ERBS-231589
thanks kje.. i need a good idea for dinner tonight. I'll check it out
how is working unpaid allowed??
School is not year round; the idea is, if they start late in the year, they will repeat that year with an advantage, and still be starting when they would have if they had waited until the September after they turned 4. Walter being a September baby will make him one of the youngest, and he should not have to repeat the year.
This kind of apprenticeship/internship is considered a form of volunteer work, and furthermore where I work is a volunteer non-profit organization.
interesting thought
that is bullshit... sorry, but that is wrong!! to work for nothing is crap unless it is volunteer work
mrp - teachers are required to "student teach" for a semester (in the USA) and don't get paid... actually have to pay college tuition to do it
not uncommon - many college kids do externships in the field they choose for no pay
It was all I could find. The entire city was flooded with social work students simultaneously looking for internship positions. Afetr Walter settles in at school I will be hunting for something paid and relevant enough to count dfor school.
that is just wrong.... we have the same, but they get paid
Doctor, doctor... I think I have a spider bite.... almost 2 weeks ago, I felt a welt behind my knee. Within a day it turned into a nasty, large bruise (palm sized). It still hasn't faded.
advertising...publishing...many health fields... it gives them an advantage when they hit the market after graduation that they have some real experience
s
it's considered on the job training..and in my opinion, it was well worth the time and effort.. learned alot of things that text books and theory couldn't have prepared me for
lady - go see a doctor : )
it is slave labour
lol... how did I know you were going to say that?
historical though mrp - think of apprentices
This internship is required: the school does a learn-at-work program with one day a week of pure theory. We get assignments from school to carry out at work: reports, investigations, interviews, client guidance plans, etc.
no pay = slave labour
I get a stipend; about 35 Euros a month. But they don't have to give it to me.
But they do.
what is that pic, lady, looks scrumptious!
apprentices get paid in this country... and they study at the same time
when I was an intern - we once calculated that once you considered how many hours we worked weekly, we were making about 96 cents/hour! LOL
apprentices get paid in this country... and they study at the same time
I have 31 words left and am Totally Stalled.
still trying to remember, kje.... I think it was a fish dish, but I don't recall. I just remember it was pretty, and I didn't even finish it.
s
That does happen here too but al the good places got snapped up by the Masters Degree students.
I do not agree with taking people for granted... if they are studying, they are worth being paid.
they ARE getting something mrp - they are getting an education!
Have to agree. Have to carry on regardless!
no kje... they are being used
and employees are treated differently than trainees - often beneficial not to be a regular employee
Not where I work.... taught myself all last year, and came out with a portfolio a bit ahead of most of the others due to being able to do whatever I wanted to get the assignments done.
if you have to pay for an education.... which I assume you have to pay alot for.... you should get paid for working too
and the education/experience will pay off in the long run (for most)
no kje... they are being used
oh what a brainwash
I'm learning a great deal about self-sufficiency...
no, I do see your point mrp - just think it is complex
lady - where was that meal?
Didn't mean to start an argument...
MG - feels good to be self sufficient, doesn't it? Even if it isn't easy
Someone clue the so6/18 that is not used in submarines?
kje - in KL... Kuala Lumpur ... at the Pan Pacific hotel
it is complex - you get no money for the work you do, yet you study and pay a shit load of money to do so... doesn't seem right or humane to me
no argument - just a discussion - it is interesting to see how different culture handle similar situations
It'd feel better if my increasingly weird boss wasn't around while I was doing it.
MrP - I see your point too... just always playing the devil's advocate... complicated issue
I need to sleep a little more... I'll be back when I get home from work
bye lady!
bye Lady - -have a good day
Everyone else quit. I need somewhere that will work with the weird hours I'll need when Walter starts school. Later after a couple of months I'll up his daycare again but at first I want him to ease into it and have a good time with my full support.
Bye Lady!
ok... but you all pay soooooo much for education. it is a humiliating thing that you work for nothing on top of it
bye bye... have a great day/evening everyone!
bye natts :))
I only have 204 more hours, then I don't have to.
I consider myself lucky that we get paid to work, weather we are studying or not
in the old days [believe it or not, before any of us], apprentices paid for the apprenticeship & were not paid per say, other than food lodging; i think the idea of free labor is a holdover from that
I never worked for nothing... just pittance when considering how much time is given to it
MG - makes me think you are a good parent... Walter is lucky for your support
in Denmark, they get paid to go to school - salaried while in college - now that is sweet!
since when is "wang" not a word?
I once worked for parrots and snakes... I mean they were my pay, notmy bosses.
Awww shucks, mama, thanks.
Yes, wang and bogart should be ok.
What did you do with parrots and snakes??
use it in a sentence jean...
Bogart is a verb, after all.
we get paid to go to University. We get lodging, food etc... and then we get good pay to go to a job!! They pay for people being educated here
I wish my boyfriend had a bigger wang
LOLOL - OMG!!!
that would be, if I HAD a bf
jean, you are close, extend that wang
I worked for an exotic pet store, and collected some of the critters for home petdom.
LOL Jean... I was thinking more of "everybody Wang Chung"
whoa I walked in at a funny time! morning all
Hi there!
lol, of course mama, cause THAT would be clear
gm dan
hi dan2 - care to join in -LOL
today's topic is "wangs" are you for or against?
jeanius - you made my day - I almost snorted coffee - evryday should start with a snort - LOL
A t can be added at the front for a 5...
lol
I'm a member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Wangs, in fact
I've been told I should apply a filter once in a while
Reminds me of a story I heard whatzizname from the x files tell on Letterman last night.
no no no - no filter - it was funny
PEToW
His 4 year old was stung on th epenis by a bee, and after he felt better he kept going up to strangers, especially women, pulling his pants down, and saying, "Look how big my penis is". It was swollen, you se.
just so you know... I have finished CRITIZING your government for their inhumane of making people work for nothing... I live in a lucky country I guess I don't like to see people doing work for nothing and hoping they get something.
Criticize away! Balkenende sucks!
LOL MG - how mortifying for the parents!
Yes, so he implied, but he still told it on Letterman...
but how did a bee get there?
OMG... my 5 year old would do that... how funny
he prob put it there, you know how guys are
well - it is funny - and something only a 4 year old can get away with!
is that Tia Leoni and David Duchovney?? omg!! how darn embarrassing would that be!!
I missed the beginning, but did catch an implication of a wading pool. Probably running around nekkid like Walter does all summer.
he is 4 jeanius!
yeah that doesn't work too well for me
peeing outside... it's a fascination for my boys
clue for second st 6 please, the one following what the bee did?
still a guy
oh yes, peeing outside - of course - probably peed into a flower bed and scared the bugger
plural it hillary
Yes, we had a phase where Walter wanted to pee on every tree we passed. I finally told him if he really had to pee every 40 seconds we were going to the doctor.
thanks mr pres, never would have thought of that
sokay... darn st/7 grid
odd...
no dan2 - for you... you'd end up in jail and on the nightly news
how do you explain a persoal injury suit against a vacuum cleaner company by the guy who got his wang caught in the hose?
claimed he was house cleaning naked
he isn't really suing???
there was no warning for putting your appendages near the hose??
A friend of my mother's when I was a child tore his right OFF... reattachment went well and he had the sense not to sue the cleaner company.
yes, but this is an old case
can anyone clue the sa 6 after the pudding?
see!
He wanted to see what it felt like.
No, what pudding? Looking...
OK - one more reason I am glad I am not afflicted with that appendage : )
he probably cringes if anyone ever says "my girlfriend sucks like a Hoover"
my boys (twins) are horrible about it... they will pull it out and wizz anywhere... it's getting to be embarrassing...
How old are they?
27
5 ... my sister lives on a farm and she lets them go outside when they are playing there... now I can't get them to stop
In Berkeley this summer, my uncle taught Walter to pee on the garden edges.... Now he does not understand why he can't do that on our deck.
the uncle and sister should be whacked!
when i complained, she said it was payback for all the rotten things I've taught her children... ugh!
Walter needs to learn that different people and different places have different rules.
or peed on
how many letters is the dr?
What rotton things? Spill!
I think I should call in sick to work, I hate to leave the chat now
6, kje.
sa5.... the guy who bring prezzies at xmas... stick a c in the middle
o - i didn't win the lottery - LOL - i'm reading about work-at-home jobs - bbl
lol... i'll never tell
how many words in total today please?
Heehee!
TY MG
172 alex
172
172
I mean sa6....the guy who bring prezzies at xmas... stick a c in the middle
Sure thing!
thanks mrp
why isn't the guy with the prezzies excepted??
He keeps bouncing here...
yw :)
mamab... we ask that every day of many stupidly easy words!
Won't accept warsh either?
this dr is not a normal word, is it?
It is an Australian insult to a stupid person.
It's what my neighbors do to their clothes when they are dirty... odd!! LOL
Rhymes with a drum and an antelope.
it is here kje.... an idiot
found it... goggled australian for stupid person - LOL
Here's where my husband went, by the way, for the Zappanale: http://www.mollistrasse.de/index.html
googled
I mean
He's going to try to appear on the webcam at atime when Walter is home.
So can anyone clue the so 6 that is not used in submarines?
is koby bryant popular in the states?
so + const + picnic insects?
His name is Kobe and he is a famous basketball player
and hello everyone!
That was it, thanks!
Hi Annie!
mrp! how are you today?
Hi MG, I see Walter is improving and that is good to hear
am ok thanks annie... getting better too slowly :)
is he well liked?? kobe?
Yup. I keep having worry-wort fits and bothering kje though. He still has "down days" bu tthe trend is better and better.
I dont know about that, mrp...but he did cheat on his wife, girl claimed she was raped (big case here a while back) and his wife got an enormous diamond ring as a gift from him instead of a divorce...to each his own, would you say?
ah, sounds like a real gem
Hello all.
Scrabbler!
hi scrabs :)
Look, Herin bought me pro!
MG, I went through the same thing with my daughter when she was a child...drove myself crazy but I saw it through and it turned out to be a virus. Tell your fears to the doctor.
I am back from my vacation in the mountains. It was glorious and magical--kayaking, hiking, swimming naked....
I thought you looked different monkey!! yesterday you were proless!!
Wow, MG, you are a pro now!
So how is little Walter?
kayaking and hiking naked would be considered a dangerous sport too scrabs!! LOL
Scrabbler, welcome back!
Saw our own doctor Tuesday, with Walter. He said that we must just assume it's "one of those viruses". Test for mono was neg, and Walter's throat looks better but still hurts, and he's still pale and tiring easily and is pale. But the trend is better and better... although today I wasn't too happy with his condition when I left him at daycare, but he's also mad and moody about his dad going on a trip.
what word was kobe clueing?
I might have to go sleep now. apologies to those US people whom I offended tonight. will see you all tomorrow
So that could account fo rsome of it.
gnite MrP.... no worries, all is good
Bye Mr. P, take care of yourself!!!!
good morning all
morning... sorry to hve missed you mrp. sweet dreams
Being naked is not dangerous for ME but it could be detrimental for others that have to see my body.
Hi Dorens!
Hi Doren.
Morning boobear!
Yes, MG. It sounds like a "mono-like" illness regardless of the blood work.
hi Monkey
nite, mrp. hi dorens, boo
Hi Boobear. How are Yogi and Ranger Smith?
hi monkey,. boo, scrabs and annie
hi Dorens
I just hope he doesn't relapse and wonder if this slow a recovery is normal, but I worry too much. Just been abusing kje mercilessly; she's been very nice about it. I'll probably ring th doc tomorrow during his phone in hour just to check in about it.
My husband was wondering if you and kje meeting in person would cancel you both out or if you'd equalize to one general practitioner... given your respective specialties.
Well now that I am back from vacation you may abuse me mercilessly, MG.
no abuse
Heehee! I will try not to. But I appreciate it.
yah, i was just about to say, dr. scrabs is in full effect here. and it is her specialty.
and I stepo away for a sec and miss naked talk!!! drats!
Aww, see, you're nice!
The most reassuring info was the CBC--complete blood count.
haha kj. join the naked hiking club?
hi kje
hi scrab
\all naked all the time : )
OK, good. They did, says my doctor, a whole lot with sed rates and all that in the panel and it all came out normal.
I didn't go too far on the trail when naked--just to search for fire wood. We did startle some hikers passing by, but that made their vacation better with a funny story to share.
LOL scrab!!!
Should've shuffled around making hooting noises and throwing leaves, really given them something to think about.
I never thought of you as a nude hiker - this is priceless!
bet they'll tell that one for years
We would kayak around the lake, find a nice spot to pull in (there are a few camp sites on the lake), make a fire, swim, warm up next to the fire, read books, play Travel Scrabble...we even cooked breakfast twice---pancakes, eggs, potatoes, coffee--it was fun!!
Oh Scrabbs, you missed my Back Incident... What with Walter being so ill I carried him everywhere on my shoulders. Four days ago I bent ovre to put soap in the dishwasher and could not stand back up. My doctor says it's burely muscular though... but ouch.
Sounds really fun Scrabbs!
sounds terrific
sounds great scrabs - I need a break like that - vegging
Going to shoot my diet down with some popcorn. BRB.
that was to scrabs.... to monkey, no, doesn't sound terrific, sounds horrific... glad it wasn't seriouis tho
One day we returned to the main beach near the lodge and a group of biker people (motorcyclists) were partying it up. One guy said, "Are you the Bare Naked Ladies that were swimming and jumping off the rocks?" We said YES!
to everyone, is babble part of your daily routine?
Well, I am down for the count, but I'll be fine! Back in a minute.
LOLOL scrab! love it!
Ouch, MG!
yes alex, most of the time - we are addicts
Yes, Alex! For over 2 yrs now. This is a wonderful community.
hells angels meet bare naked ladies..... could be a movie
hard core addicts, alex
dorens - ha!
but of course, thinking they know that - there must of been more than a few that saw you all naked
They were tattoed guys with bimbo chicks, all sucking down beers and smoking.
just your type, scrabs
A few years ago we sat down for dinner at the lodge and the waitress handed us a note that read: When is the next showing of the lake sirens?
but yet... THEY were clothed : )
Wayne's world Excellent...hey Wayne...hey GA5/16! and good morning all!
hi missbeeze
so public nudity is a regular for you scrab? who knew!
scrabbs, that note episode is hilarious
Scrabs - where did you naked hike?
hi beeze
hi misb and thanks
hi bee - left you a gift in pack rat
that is rockin!
yw!
We were in the Adirondacks, missbeeze.
i can't play that game - i think i stole a valuable card of yours when i didn't mean to - doesn't matter b/c i can't lock them - blah!
oh wow! i bet it was beautiful - i put up my icon yesterday of my mountain vaca - only i had clothes on!
I rarely lock cards
don't need to
i need help w/p rat. i stole your swimmy bear
i wanted the deer
no biggy bee - I took it back and dropped a card you needed
kje--I have to make rounds this AM--we have a baby with DiGeorge Syndrome--congenital heart disease, no thymus, calcium issues, overall train wreck.
you cannot have my fawn
oh goody!
but fran has extra fawns
so sad scrab!
ok - i'll try to steal hers!
when I was visiting friends in cyprus, one of them delivered and baby had tri-18 - so devestating during what should be a moment of joy
no no no - ASK bee : )
Yes, it is always devastating when a newborn has complications, especially serious ones.
docs didn't tell parents right away cuz wanted to know full extent and do testing... but was pretty clear
and cyprus is not US - testing took forever!
Scrab - they had 1 MRI on the entire island
oh ok - i'll ask!
will catch youover there sometime and help you bee
but general rule is not to steel cards your friends need from them... usually people post below the pack what is up for grabs... rats on the other hand are fair game
When I was a country doc, my first 6 1/2 yrs after residency, I was called to the community hospital to see an Amish newborn with birth defects and he had Trisomy 18. The parents said, "We will take him home with our family and keep him comfortable." He died 8 days later.
Back again. Oof, very sad!
this boy is still alive, scrab, now in washington state, getting therapy, is 4 years old - unbelievable!!!
they usually die within weeks
scrab.... are there other options?
Walter was born with slightly immature lungs and suffered a collapsed lung at one day old, and was critical for 24 hours and in intesive care for a week. I don't know what I would have done if things had been even worse!
my twins were born at 27 weeks... 1# 12 oz and 2#... tiny but PTL for modern medicine... both are healthy and doing wonderful now... only mild learning delays for one.. but it was a really long 10 weeks before we brought them home
wow mama - you are amazing - that is so hard
the premie nursery was an amazing place
I'll bet! I'm so glad they're OK! There was a woman in my room at the hospital whose son was born at 27 weeks. He is also OK, but he had to stay in 4 months.
it was hard... but God is good and He sustained us... can't imagine life without my little boogers
that is wonderful mama
Great story, mama!
Walter was not premature, so he was born here at home, but the midwife was enough on the ball to think he should be looked at so we were already at the hospital when hisproblems started.
the NICU is amazing.. and the dr's and nurses there are even more amazing... i don't know how anyone could do that day in/day out... but PTL there are people who are blessed with that talent!
good morning everyone ....
And so caring to the parents on top of it all! I too was impressed.
**sets out scrambled eggs, cantalope, and juice
Hi Mom!
(((mom))) hi!
Hi Monkey Games, congrats on going PRO
{{KJE}} hello
yum! I wish mom lived near me - I need someone to make me breakfast everyday : )
Thanks! I am quite honestly too broke for it, so Herin insisted on buying me a proship! Isn't that sweet?
I would love too, KJE. Since the boys have moved :( I only have my sweetie to make breakfast for.
Yes, Monkey, very sweet of Herin.
I am sure sweetie appreciates it: )
Or come here... Walter has strawberry pancakes every morning at the moment.
Our NICU's parent support could be better... but I've looked into ways to improve that
he does. He is a real sweetheart
I'll say it again...Walter is very very lucky! LOL!
yes mama - it seems most parents that go through that stay involved with their nicu's - at least here at the academic hospital - it makes it better for new parents having that support, and makes the nicu better too
They're not so hard... Dutch pancakes don't need to rise, and i JUST REPLACE SOME OF THE MILK WITH ORGANIC STRAWBERRY YOGHURT.
Sorry capslock issue!
OK hungry - BRB
kje - do any of the nurses have a problem with it? I've found that they are the biggest obsticle
I do have a melon mom, so will go cut some, but no eggs and juice : (
varies
the hardest ethics consult I ever had to do was a nicu consult - the nurses get so invlolved and can sometimes feel they love that kid more than the parents... it is understandable why, but still wanted to bonk them!
chocolate milk then, Kje
understandable why they get so attached, I mean
coffee : )
I had a lot of support. They made sure I was as comfoprtable as possible when I insisted on staying by Walter all day, and they brought me a breast pump and a privacy screen. The chairs were awful, though-- I stood up for most of the week after I had Walter.
i definately see that... it's a rough line to tow... you want the nurses to care for the babies so that they give them that little extra... but it can be really hard when they get too attached... i could never do it!
ok, coffee :)
Hi Mom!
Hi Scrabbler. How was your vacation?
28 left and like pulling impacted molars...
mom - sit down for this.... scrab spent her ENTIRE vacation naked
our NICU sees alot of young (teenage) mothers who are too intimidated to jump in, and the nurses don't really have time to "hold their hands" so the parents come off as uncaring... when they really just need encouraged.... it's one of those aweful circular problems
:), at least she doesn't have any laundry to do. I hope there wasn't any sunburn
anyways, working to find solutions to make it easier for everyone...
yes... the medical team can forget sometimes that it is an intimidating arena... they get so use to it as they do it aily, but for parents, it is overwhelming... and lack of participation is not lack of caring, they are just overwhelmed
daily
I can see how that could happen. I was appalled at how few parents actually stayed in at my hospital; most would drop in for half an hour twice a day. I had to be hustled into a wheelchair and removed when they saw me getting too tired! We also had near-daily visits in our rooms from social workers. That was very nice.
BO 5 but not agogo?!
MG - I'm pulling teeth with 78 words to go... so you are doing great!!
They would ask if we were comfortable or needed anything, arrange counselling for those who needed it, just talk, etc.
No bogart, either, godt.
Rats!
Sorry!
No, THAT's there! PB for you!
>>>>>>>>off to the PB, god
AAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHH!
LOL
Vacation was glorious, Mom--kayaking, hiking, swimming naked....my head is still there.
there's hot chocolate in the PB and Mom has made scrabled eggs*
Hi godthaab
MG - It's such an emotional rollercoaster for parents (as you know) and sometimes parents retreat... especially when they aren't being involved in the baby's care... it's easy to feel like you are just in the way
I am glad you had a great time
not just swimming, scrab, be honest... she was flashing tourists, mom
I think she needs a time-out
Swimming naked within the glory of the Adirondack Mtns is natural.
I know. I just found that in case this was all the time with him I would have I wanted to be there Every Second. There was another lady like that too, but she had to be wheeled in on her bed with tubes and all-- she'd had a nasty emergency c section.
lol
Oh I was the same way... I would have been there 24/7 if it hadn't been for my daughter (2 1/2 years old). I'm just thankful that part my life is over! I don't think I could do it again!
I know I never want to find out if I could...
Walter's present from Sprite just arrived! That'll cheer him up when he gets home. She had an old rench Knitting set she wasn't using and asked if he'd like it.
Yikes, I need to have breakfast and head off to the children's hospital for rounds--2 babies to see. One of them is in the NICU--29 weeker with birth weight of 570 grams.
Wow, that's small! Have a good day and kiss the babies for me!
take care Scrabbler. Glad you are back safely from your trip. Give the babies a hug for me.
Bye kids! Enjoy the day.
hi, all. I do not believe this. I got all of the S words with no clues/lists at all.
God bless, Scrab. Hope your day goes well

I have never heard of Calmyras. Don't like Mangos

lol
now i'm all messed up!
oh, flos, had the most wonderful salad the other day at a restaurant with greens, fresh figs, goat cheese, nuts... yummy
I tend to do that too, Missbeeze. I really should look at the stats first and then hunt
i like spinach salad
and flos - a place near me also makes a killer ffig, proscuitto, and arugula pizza with a balsamic reduction drizzled over teh top - OMG!!! it is srumptious
hello

good morning Harp
hi harp
wow kje, that sounds amazing
morning harp!
I am having food fantasies
hello harp
sumo sushi
I think it would, Missbeeze, but I have done it this way for so long. I try different ways but always seems like I end up doing it this way
me too mom - it is part of my "system" - not necessarily the best way, but my system nonetheless
I always start random... then look at tile stats to help... then go to lickety eventually

thanks Dorens via FM, new word for me
Don't htink I can help with clues too much today, not enough brains left, been up since 4am. Ah well, you have the show alhead of you Ata
what show, Ata?
Oooh, he sounds like a barrel of monkeys, Ata. Smack him in the head and take his credit card. Maybe he'll chase after you.
dragon*con art show
don't know what that is, Ata
No! leave him asleep Ata then you can stay on here with us!
you are exhibiting then, Ata?
i am!
yes, peri
Finished, pretty quick today
Wow, that is great, Ata!!
and Ata is exhibiting at the show and is going to sell several hundred pics to the admiring public!
why isn't bogart a word, like in the song don't bogart that joint my friend
and then we can say we knew her when....
good luck with the show, Ata!
hopefully, anyway!
i agree bubba
What exactly are you exhibiting, Ata?
yes FM and then she's going to do some for me to sell in my shop too :) and I'll be able to say 'I know her' lol

fa 7 is a mixture --like the ta 8 w/out the last letter
fa7 like the herb of the ta but without the last letter and replace the first letter
yw
not much time for babbling today, im afraid!
Passes EvaN, ana energy drink and mops her brow.
this whole "actually having to do WORK at work" thing is really getting old!
lol, it is a whole different routine working at home and so much more civilised!
Oooo I found the dressage live on the computer :)))
FM do you work from home?
we've dropped down to 4th now
Phantom: bastard.
Oh no , ave we ? Yes I do peri, have done for about 6 years now
what type of work do you do, FM?
yep looks like Germany will get the gols
*gold*
would love to work from home, have given Reiki sessions in the past, but no clients at the moment :(
quietly have achieved fireworks. can clue for a minute or two, then have to rush off for my four hour drive to boston
What I am doing at the moment is called a Virtual Assistant. supporting small number of businesses with everything type of admin need they might have.
that is great, FM
God! Every time I try to listen to something a tractor races past the window
so most of your work is done on the computer, FM?
I am lucky, I have a grat group of clients and love my work. All my work is don with the computer
and I very rarely meet with the client, maybe once a month or once a quarter.
down to 3, can't get that last go5, any clues please?
great that you love your work, FM
go flosey!
I could do with you running my businees
*business* even!
still 63 left, started playing at 3 am this morning and then took a break, doing laundry now
sounds like food that is unfit to eat flosey, think 2 words but drop a letter from each.
Sounds like a dream job, FM. Any benefits?
go + i like beef stroga***f
Liz I can handle individual prjects so if there was one particulary thing you wanted doing for example..
thanks Dorens, another strange one!
ok. i'm off now... have a great day everyone
hmmm, not even in the dictionary
Hmm benefits - being your own boss, being able to take time off during the week, much happier, less stressed. Downside if I get sick no money comes in and I don't take holidays at the mo.
no FM...I just want you to run the whole shebang so I can babble & sunbathe all day LOL
LOL Liz
Fireworks
I was thinking benefits like health insurance, 401K, etc. But, the intangibles sound good, too.
yay congrats flosey
i'm back :)

bye Liz!
awwwww how wonderful! what colours?
3 black (one is 19) and the other sucha beautifully marked tortoiseshell, dark grey, cream and very pale terracotta.
Aw. Love the tortie kitties. So pretty.
19! impressive!
I know! lovely glossy coat but getting quite deaf
not surprised!
I have a tortie
19 wow, my cat is 12 and 1/2
I would think deaf cats would do very well. They never listen to humans anyway.
52 left, laundry break, bbs
They gave me tea in an Edward Monkton mug and I had to tell them about the CoG of course. thats a good age too peri. LOL Judi
I think you like your new clients ...
Me too!
I used to have a tortie point siamese
Need to make some tea or something and stretch my legs. back in a bit.
those are sooooo beautiful
i always wanted a lilac point
we have a seal point and are just about to buy a lilac point kitten
oh oh oh youll post photos??
not sure if i am that computor literate but i'll try I am allergic to all cats except pure bred siamese ( weird )
if you aren't, its about time you were ;)
lol so everyone tells me!
not that weird, I know people the same.
clue for the first na 4 please
I haven't got that one
indian bread
First na4 is an anagram. Double vowel in the middle.
Why didn't i see that thanks!
thanks - its a palindrome
It's against our nature as humans to put two identical vowels together.
meet
boot
I thought a palindrome was a whole sentence?
i had tried monkeying around with those two vowels but still missed it - thnx again
a palindrome can be numbers or words or sentences or whole paragraphs
no, its anything
Missed that day in English class I guess. Ty.
atalante is that your dog?
yep :)
He is gorgeous.... What breed is he?
she's a she :) and she's a working cocker spaniel by the name of Hobbit. and she's my constant companion. except at the momet cos she's back home in england and I *miss* her
ag 4/8 first one please?
ag - awed
tr 6/24 please..
Ata's hound is quite the celebrity here.
?????????????????
sorry - don't have yet ruru
ag + *h 8ee that is astounding
nm - bad clue
ag - awed, interested, mouth and eyes wide open in astonishment
almost as famous as Spangle!
anyone have the tr 6./24?
will look too ruru
ruru think Greek mythology, They gave the greeks the wooden horse. Change the last vowel and then pl for the 7
Judi is your dog a fox?
thank goodness you didn't clue another tr...lol
thanks
TY
Ata when you say "working" do you mean you do trials with him?
My icon is a picture of a fox. Just plucked it off the internet. We do have a husky, though. And two cats.
hunting?
dear husband has given me 2 choices for today. either stay near here and go whale watching (in 98F heat) or drive 6 hours to Crater Lake and stay there overnight and come back over this way tomorrow. Joy
Hobbit is a lady through and through unless she has been rolling in dead fish :)
I would come up with an option 3 rapidly Ata!
Where do you live ata?
Ata - compromise. Take a helicopter ride to crater lake and go swimming when you get there.
I don't actually work with her, we didn't get her as a puppy so she's never had the proper training. she's darn good at rabbiting though! but if I get another working cocker at any point, from a pup, then I will train them and work them
crater lake would be cooler, but rather touristy right now i would think
Ah Mr Brer Fox eats my chickens if I don't lock them up!! We have 2 Jack Russels, a cow, a border collie, 12 chooks, 1 cat and a horse
lol, or look for whales at Crater Lake?
right down in the south tip of England
now that would be a productive day harp : )
ah yes, those well known crater lake whales :)
Thats quite a menagerie sandy
there is a crater lake in england?
harp, will crater lake literally be *packed* with tourists?
It is and that's not counting the humans
nope LOL I'm in Oregon at the moment. In Newport
ga 5/20?
oh..
have you eaten at Bugatti's
i don't know, i only went there once, in September and it wasn't too bad. i guess I'd go for it if I were you. If you've never seen it, one of a kind, etc.
but be sure to see the silly seals in Newport also!
I don't have te ga 5/20 either
not a lot to do there at Crater Lake though
I REALLY want the fireworks!!!
I've been looking for them! Are they at the bayfront?
ga + cons + op of on
and no, where is Bugattis?
does anybody have the nine letter word
thought it is near Newport..actually closer to Lake Oswego..
ga 5/20 - yiddish word for thief or scounrel
TY - now have to look that one up
It may not still be open, but it was a terrific restaurant.
It may not still be open, but it was a terrific restaurant.
yes its the pluran of the ta 8 herb
Stoopid head on today, can't clue to save my life :(
the 9 is plural of the ta8 - an herb
ta 9 - type of herb, plural
i'm trying to think of when you would use the plural of that word....
LOL harp, hmmm...
... the are 2 types of tarragons....
you don't say that daily???
Ummmm kje to the PB!!
oooo I'll have to remember that and have a look
Yes, I was thinking the same, Harpjane. Silly that.
oh crap! 2 times to PB today for the same word!!!
Put it in a sentence
look at all the nice ta9 on the fish! lol
why do I keep forgetting to ta8 that???
LOL, kje. Major duh.
Consistent if nothing else kje *giggle*
not funny FM - hate being consistent or predictable ; )
Where are all the Aussies
I haven't seen one here for ages
they were here early this morning sandy
Watching the olympics?
Aaah its nearly midnight now
yes, and they were saying how much olympics they were watching since events are so close to their time zone
I'm waiting to record some dressage
So Ata, have you decided?
Yes Atlanta was inconvenient
but you did have sidney : )
ty, kje! :D
stop rubbing it in TO : )
we did and my daughter went. Im watching a 77 year old Japanese riding a beautiful Hanoverian mare at the moment wow!
ok - bbl
wait???
sorry they just changed that age to 67 ,still pretty good
LOL sandy - yes, still a bit older than most olympians
i dont really get to decide. husband will. if he ever wakes up
How was his tournament?
good! except he keeps telling me about it in great detail
LOL phone :(
What sort of tournament
He must have given it his all to be so sleepy
na6 and na7?
it was the US Go conference and tournament
Sorry Ata but what is a Go Conference?
Na 6 rhymes with a pa**** of the arts
how many letters is the d?
thanks
its a stupid Chinese game that people get obsessed with. Sort of like draughts
The d has 6 letters and is a typical Aussie fool
6 in the d
ty
it's called Go?
yep
oh.... I must Go to bed!
I hate sleeping it's such a waste of time (unlike this game)
lol sandy
me too
Well, I hate to say it, but I'm flummoxed by the na5/12. Clue, please?
Bye Ata if you are off (hugs)
Judi its a direction

Congrats Judi (Sandy harbours a seething resentment)
good evening everyone
Hello Orange (this game is full of animal lovers)
Good afternoon babble....after six days away I am back and ready to play! First missed grids in nearly a year :(
uniiiiiiii!
Bonjour Miss Americana! How is the ole US of A?
good good!
we are trying to decide what to do today. or will be, if husbnad ever wakes up
...You could try being a Canadian!
we've had tha discussion. husband wanted to drive to Banff for the day
How easy is that to do? Just pop on up and back on a UK passport?
easy as anything, if you want to drive several thousand miles!
ok Goodnight everyone have a nice day!!
Who doesn't want that? I just drove a few hundred km...nearly the same thing. *smiling*
it is sometimes hard for people from europe to imagine the distnaces in the US and Canada between places
I looooove spending my holiday driving. all day. all night.
I once had a spnish friend that asked about going to boston for the day from DC - yes, it does look close on a map... but no it is not : 0
Hi again briefly! Kje, all my histrionics were aparrently over the top... Walter had a great day at daycare, has color in his face again, and they said he was MUCH more himself today.
We're right next door...ish
anyway. I managed to persuade husband that Banff wasn't possible. H enow wants Crater Lake instead. Only 6 hours each way
aaaaaaaand BOOM, CRASH, CRACKLE, SWOOSH, POP
Histrionics? Never...
Oh, I was quite overwrought.
Sounds like you need more holiday, darling
recently someone here on babble asked me about going to corpus much... yes it IS in the same state, and it would take me a full day drive to get there - LOL
Kje was very nice about it.
ata - that wll not be relaxing!
does anyone desire any clues before i'm off?
hi MG - glad to hear he is better : )
I'll have more holiday when husband returns to England and I get back to my friends for 3 weeks!
Oh yes! Sn5/12 and 6/21 please!
I have been wrangling children for 10 years or so on a serious basis. If there is anything I have learned, I am not prone to histrionics!
sn + first 3 letters of the site of the 2004 olympics
and plural
Ata, by 'my friends', do you mean us? :)
I get too worried sometimes. I know this.
Thanks!
yes, kick hubby back to england and relax a bit... your own mini american revolt - LOL
well you too of course, but really I'm staying with my best friend up in Astoria for 3 weeks after sleeping-husband goes home. whee!
he goes home on saturday
crater lake is worth the effort, it's not really on the way to anything. try to spend a day there
get a room somewhere
i took a 10 hour detour on a road trip to see crater lake, spent about 3 hours there and never regretted it
ok. we would prolly leave here around noon, get down there whenever. stay there tomorrow morning and come back up to the coast in the afternoon. IF we can find a room down there!
ra 5/12? what am I missing?
ar6/18, anyone?
that sounds like a good enough recommendation!
short for something that has gone sour kj?
Must griddle a bit more, nice to have heard from you Ata. Please enjoy the holiday!
dunno the 6/18 monkey
OK!
ar - like the wa7 minus the w
Thanks!
wa 7 - arrest order
yep yep - ty

i hope -eek can't think of her name- sharonloo? - gets fireworks!
ga5/20?
ok. apparently we're going to Crater Lake
20 left, need a break - BBL
ga + cons + almost not on
Thanks!
Bye kje!
eek - thats a drive - why can't you do the whale watching?
beg and stuff!
husband Says So
well if its really going to be 98F all day, sitting in an aircon car through the worst might be quite nice!!
way to look on the bright side :)
might as well. missing whale watching sucks. but apparently we've done enough pootling around tide pools and marine bio stuff this week (I'm a marine biologist by training)
ooh, i wanted to be a marine biologist in highschool
i even had an internship at the univ of miami arine science school, so coll
OK, must dispense raspberry juice and make dinner. Back after kiddie bedtime for my last 13.
perhaps you will find time to whale watch with your friend - i wanted to be a marine bioligist also, but became a SW instead
i'm still a sucker for discovery shows about the ocean
oooh me to vjr -
a SW?
a social worker - that is my degree, but i don't do that anymore
lol
too*
what do you do now??
now i am a freight broker/transportation broker
i just noticed you changed your flag ;)
I am the GM of the branch of my company in this region
hi all
oh cool! one of my friends back home does that
it is fun, but at this time in economy, quite challenging
that is cool!
need a clue for the so 7/32 and the so 6/18 please , thanks
hello peri
missbreeze, I was a social worker for over 20 years. still need to work but don't want to do social work. how did you change from one field to another?
it was a big decision - i knew once i left the field, it would be almost impossible to go back to SW, so i had to consider it before leaving....
once i made that decision, i had an in with transportation as my parents both worked at a transportation giant, and knew of a brokerage
its alright i have them now
yes, it always helps to know what you want to do and to know the right people.
it was lucky and i have enjoyed it a great deal. it is hard to transition into or out of the field as it is so focused and specialized - people tend to be short sighted and think that is all you are capable of
do you like what you do now, missb?
you answered :-) very true people tend to pigeon hole you
i do, although things are very tough for this industry with diesel/petro fuel being so outrageous all over the world and economy being so unpredictable
ok, I have to go. Be back after the epic trip to Crater Lake!!
shippers/producers are tentative to produce anything and things are slow - customers are hesitant to allow prices to rise to get the freight shipped
bye Ata! make the best of it! you will make it fun!
companies are going out of business daily - especially trucking companies that i use to get the freight moved. it is sad.
have fun Ata
that is right - where did you practice SW?
PA
medical social work. also a Reiki master/practitioner but no clients at the moment.
and what caused you to leave the field peri?
i was just reading that on your profile!
tell me about Reiki
very frustrating working with insurance companies and getting things done in a timely manner. patients being discharge before they are really ready, etc
i know - i worked for Child protective Svcs and same game - cases closed daily with risk - i couldn't do it for fear a child would die
patients being admited to an acute Rehab (not drug rehab) who would have been more appropriate for skilled nursing/nursing home placement
how long were you a SW?
missbreeze, you can e-mail me if you want and I can tell you about Reiki.
I will say it is a very effective method for pain relief and stress reduction.
i started work for CPS right out of college - big mistake - worked there for 4 years - which is a long time, then went to a grant funded research project for almost 3 yrs - so 7 years i guess - not long
sandr, in case you're still looking for those clues...
so 7 32 = male offspring + So You Think You Can D****
well, you are much younger than me, missbreeze
i would like to know more about that
and so 6 18 right after is = male offspring + small insect
would still like to find something that I can do for at least a few more years to build up my retirement found
hi there nrkii
hi there
hi nrkii
need to check on laundry
just lurking while I grab the last words here...
f43 togo out of ideas
i've been a social worker with DD adults for 25 years, i lucked out and found a GREAT niche as sw jobs go
remind me what type of sw you do harp
you just said it in you message :-)
not a population I would have patience with. glad you like it
it doesn't take as much patience as you think
well, it is something that I did not consider when I younger
i have more trouble when the person in front of me is fumbling for change, or talking on their cell phone, than I do with people who are honestly trying their best....
i worked at a group home on weekends for a while and loved it - with adults - i never thought i would have the patience for it.
now the BUREAUCRACY makes me lose patience
that is SOOOO true!
I agree about the Bureauacy
i cannot stand THAT WORD EVEN!
speaking of work, i'm late....bbl
bye harp!
I even spelled it wrong :-)
still 38 to go
it is a nightmare...37 here

yw

Done with the Gs. Back later.
Hey kje... Walter again brought up wanting to be a doctor (it is SO winning over jogger and bus driver at the moment). I again listed teh kids of doctor one can be, and he has decided, at least for tonight, that being a doctorjust for old people like his Gate Daddy Sam is even cooler than foot doctor.
way cool, monkey -- so glad you are no longer faceless!
Yes, Stid, Sprite's coming over soon to hang out and give me knitting lessons!
LOL well done Walter! :-D
She's only in Koog aan de Zaan.

I wish we could have been there more. That's in Berkeley. I miss Sam. He brought me up. Have you seen his website? And yes, everyone was thrilled to have an almost-four-year-old there.
He got away with simply EVERYTHING.
no
We spent every day there from about 9 through lunch.
OK, Sam's website is www.samhinton.org
OK - this is why lickety's is embarassing - how could I have the acting place and not the deer before it????
hm. two left.
He is 91 now.
Good question, kje, and nearly identical to one I ask myself nearly daily.
very cool website. How nice his grandson did that for him!
LOL kje!
okay, GO 5/20 please? the last GO word
That's my husband, Sam's grandson-in-law.
like the ga 5/20 stid
I was juat about to ask for that one myself, stid.
{{{monkey's husband}}}
hekp with the na 5/12 please!
*le fishbop* thanks.
last one is SA 6.... how fishy and should I just keep monkeying a while?
when I am done I have to write some more for class. *yuck face*
go 5/20 found in a large drum kit
Sam's instructional harmonica videos are online too, made in his 80's with George Winston. Lemme find the link...
cool MG
macca -- na***thefan just left the chog
sa 6 - think church, or holy, or refuge
thanks kje! firewords!!!
WOOHOO Stidder!!!!
sorry, not getting the clue stid!
I like the firewords
Here you gop, MAN I miss him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcSLudn KFPA&feature=related
the na 5/12 ends like what you take a date to in high school, like a prom or homecoming...
Yay, go stid!
mac - sounds like detective girl series na*** drew - but shortened version of her name
Hey... just realized I am pro now, if I get these 13 I can SEE the video!
is the mac for the computer?
ty all!
go monkey go!!!!!
will stay to help...
now what about that na 6/18?
But it's 20 minutes to House...
hello all,
hi there stid
hey peri!
Oh, that's easy, hang on for na6 clue...
well... kinda MG - do you have Babble Expert?
the na 6/18 rhymes with a word for woman or mother -- actually latin for mother...
got it thanks!
na6: na+ early computer graphics movie, main processor character later used as Moses in South Park
Oops, not yet. Will get it.
Meaning Expert.
So... I need the go 6/30 and the 7...
email lickety and ask him to send it to you
may i ask a realy silly question??
go 6/7 is go + lound noise (4/8) from earlier in the list
and plural of course
Yes, I have been maning to despite my non-pro status, an dnow that that has been cured I'll get right on it.
sure sadie, we are made for silly
licketySplitAUS@gmail.com
Oh, not that one... another 6 and 7, no idea of they're related.
But thank you.
how do you know if you are pro?? i see you all talkin bout it and some video...
And thank youkje, I'll do that right away.
you are pro sadie - you have an icon instead of a gray head
you're pro -- you have an icon and a profile
You are pro; you have an icon. Expert is free; you just e-mail and ask for it. That has the cool videos... or so I hear.
told ya it was silly rofl
ty
the video automatically plays after fireworks in babble expert which is a program lickety split developed... free for the asking at the email I just posted
okay, I am afraid I have to go. must stand up for a bit before I hit the books again. my back hurts from sitting so much!
not silly - all very secret and confusing : )
monkey, thanks for sharing the websites. they are wonderful. Sam is AMAZING!
we have our own language here... and rarely let people out who come in... we are essentially a cult - LOL
*poof*
ok thanks all
Well, thanks, I think so... a very remarkable man. It has been hard watching him get so old... but as they say, better than the alternative. It was very hard losing Leslie a few years ago. They raised me; they're my real mom and dad.
ara7 please
When people get upset at him needing to get by in restaurants or being confused, I just want to scream at them that here is a man with a higher IQ, a more developed intellect, and a more generous character, not to mention more talent(s), than anyone they have ever met.
Ar 7: to put in order
meant ar7 please
ar7 - to put in order... like a flower ar****ment
sheesh, thanks
there is a lot of ageism out thee MG
I know there is. And it sucks.
uno
oh shoot - BRB
*** ruru is holding tape at KJE's finish line***
**** waiting****
*waiting*
****really waiting****
So let's see... 13 words and ten minutes, then commercial breaks. What do I need most? Hmmm...
I'm actually stuck on a na4. Not bread or grannies. Little help?
She said oh shoot BRB, ruru...
na4 catches/apprehends
grabs
Ooh, my fault, not that one wither... But thank you!
Either, not wither... sheesh.
I know monkey.. just love to tease her though
2 grandma words
Gotcha. But be nice to her-- ahe's been exceptionally patient with me today.
she never misses a chance to give me a hard time..
TWO grabdmas! OK! Looking...
Got it, thank you.
i only have 1 grandma word
yw
one singular, one plural
Countdown to House alert... will drop out without warning to reappear on commercial breaks.
huh?
jess the bread plurals not the grandma
can anyone help me with tr6/24 plz?
change last ltr
House, the show that is surreal in that the main character is a hrd-bitten ascerbic American doctor played by a foppish and whacked out British commedian, will be on any second. Or was teh huh? not directed at me?
like the condom with a different last vowell
Good morning everyone!
tr6/24: take the bad-poettry aliens from Hitchhikers and replace the v with tr. Then plural.
2 na4 grandmas, one singular, one plural by changing last ltr
Hi, Wickd!
no to house.. was correcting jess
Gotcha.
now i'm correcting you
Heya Monkey :)
Me?
ruru
oh that!?! does that mean grandma?
Yikes just cannot remember what the aliens in hitchhiker were called! Is on the tip of my tongue!!!!!!!
Ah. Jeez, and I haven't even smoked anything yet.
close enough
no it means bread too
I win
lol
Oops House is on... oh cool it's this one! Back at the break...
Whoooo got the hitchhiker clue!!!!! Thanks!
bbl good luck
OK - one left... I spilled my tea all over my desk!
done!
hey, where did everyone go????
yay kje!
yay, kje!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks une! I thought everyone had left : )
i just came back and saw your finish! wee hoo!
TY bee : )
GO KJE! Back to House...
yay ya yay yay yay!!!
go where? : /
congrats kje
Ty sadie
lol
anyone need clues?
too many left yet for me - i haven't made much prog..
thanks tho!
Ummm... general colloquial term of approval. Back to House!
LOLOL MG!
Go MG go!
that was a little bitchy - good for you!
not you bee - MG
lol - she is wayyyy into this episode of House
for some reason i got over the House thing
It was? Gosh, wasn't meant to be!
I hate House
what?!
Best written thing on TV right now (fiction, I mean), an daurie in the ri=ole is just too surreal.
I used to like it now i can't stand - funny how that happens
why??
I generally hate any fictional television
You do? On the break let's get into why! I like discussing differences in aesthetic opinion.
everything since Seinfeld i have found disappointing
I didn't like this last season with the newbies . . . hoping they'll disappear . . .
cuz I know how fake and unreal the scenarios are... and he is an ass : )
THAT WAS FOR KJE. fOR YOU, MISS, YEAH, ME TOO MOSTLY.
Oops, capslock thing again.
I can't get into any television show that is scripted
keyboard has a mind of its own sometimes
seinfeld was genius... but my age is showing there : )
Yes he's an ass but I'm a sociopath so I can handle him. The scenarios... well, a team of leading diagnosticians recently said the show is very accurate-- if you compress a lifetime of cases into one week.
Seinfeld was enjoyable. How old are you? I'm 39.
pretty much watch TRU TV or Discovery and true crime stuff - kind of obsessively or reality tv :)
Seinfeld - after that everything has been flat...
For the record I do vastly prefer REAL medical mystery stories.
I'm 34. and I believe Seinfeld was the best show ever
it is not accurate - what piece of advertisement have you been reading... he makes huge assumptions, runs lots of unneeded tests to build up the drama, insults his patients and trainees, flirts with his patients, among other questionable ethical issues...
actually, have never seen it - LOLOL
but I have seen enough : )
seinfeld was thebest show EVER!
You're right of course, kje. The diagnosticians were referring ONLY to the medicine: the diagnoises and teh end results. I agree that there is NO WAY someone like that would go on acting like that and survive in a rea hospital setting. But it is fun as fiction.
it was the first show in a long time to catch my attention that wasn't a true crime type show, but it only lasted a very short time - now i can't stand to watch it
can still see a rerun and laugh
i can too kj - any Seinfeld rerun and i've seen them all over and over and i still laugh
the current show I like to watch is The New Adventures of Old Christine - I like her - good comedic timing
otherwise, I mostly do netflix... do watch some hbo series on netflix... like The Wire - that was excellent
Miss, speaking of crime TV... I never watched this NCIS show. Walter and I were at a table with a very nice and interesting woman at the SFO airport a couple of months ago. Got home, thought we would check out NCIS. There she is-- Abbety the forensics lady. Turns out she actually has master's degrees in forensics and criminology-- the actress I mean.
i've heard it is good and i like her, but i have been so disappointed with comedies for so long, that i can barely give them a chance anymore
Coupling is an excellen rerun one. Can watch those forever.
NHOT the f*****-up US version...
the british version?
Indeed.
yes agree - the british version was cute
not good enough to watch again though : )
Wow MG - that is interesting! I watched CSI a few times, but lost interest in that also
i watch ncis all the time i like that show alot
maybe 5 times
and not near as clever as SATC
Not CSI; I found that very boring. NCIS! IT is barely watchable! Which is saying good things as far as TV is concerned.
i don't know what it is about fictional television
SATC? Enlighten me.
yes - that is the one i meant
It is that it is basically crap, miss.
sex and the city... where is asgreen... she would faint that you didn't know that - LOL
Could not STAND even five minutes of THAT.
lol - that is true MG!
My problem is, if I start reading during school time I wil ldo nothing else so I dare not. That leaves TV when I'm tired and don't want to start a major artwork.
it was hilarious... and not really about the sex... it is about the girls' relationship - classic chick flick
Hmmm. Nope, so far I have HATED every character and every segment I have seen. That's matters of taste for you!
OK, commercial
i never got into that show either...hmmm
over. Back with you folks in a bit.
and the stereotypes of men were classic ... the circus freak show... the model-daters... the bad breaker uppers...
i feel like the writing is always predictable - the comedy is always too predictable for me - the one liners, etc.
There you go... bored to tears by stereotype-exploitative TV, so it goes. *Really temporary poof*
asgreen!!!!! where are you? LOL I am getting beaten up here!
lurking??
it's OK - that was years ago anyway
now only interest is the christine show... and an occasional 5th grader thing when visiting my parents
is she lurking?, let me check
no, not luring
yes i watch that too when visiting my parents - my nephew loves that show as do my parents
lurking I mean
although that rarely happens - the parent visit
next time you are here bee....
yes next time
:)
still 31 left
blecckk
Ever heard of Project Access kj?
no, what is it?
a grant funded research project for the indigent poor in Dallas County -
i used to work there as a Care Coordination Manager
Dallas County Medical Society
the funding was drastically cut, so it may not be effective still, unfortunately
what did they o
they were primarily parterned with the BHCS
physicians provided a network of care for the working poor - like people who work at McDonalds who don't have a group medical plan
physicians would agree to join the program as a network type provider - practitioners and specialist for the working poor living in Dallas County who qualified
aaahhh - I see - just googled it
great concept
I work at Parkland bee - access for the poor is what I do - LOL
Dr Jim Walton was the brainchild behind it - Baylor physician
then you should def learn about it - it was for people who fell into the cracks i guess
oh yes, many visits to Parkland :)
actually, bee, I work at UTSW, but do most of my clinical work through parkland
It was Central Dallas Ministries partnered with the DCMS
oh - yes - so you work with Zale Lipshy?
isn't that part of UTSW?
they ahve a lot of partners apparently, including parkland and the DFW hospital networks
i mean the hospital
yes, zale, st paul, parkland
Miss, I am entering my third year and final of school for a Dutch Social work degree (Bachelor's). My school requires that lots of my assignments get done at the workplace. Often I need to show that I have conferred with ohers and I am also allowed to aprticipate in outside stuff for credit. I have always felt that the medical end of it would be my preference (specifically psychiatric and neurological medicine). In teh coming 6 months can I sometimes bounce ideas off you? Can I be of help? Our medical system here is quie different, fromn a social perspective. Could be good to contrast them sometiomes.
yes - they are all linked up. Parkland is a great hospital actually - gets a bad rap sometimes, but it is really a good hospital!
wouild someone please volunteer to find my last 30 words?
I am tired of this grid
i will help in any way i can MG- whatever i can do to help - i am familiar with programs here, etc, and have worked in various ones sure
lol peri - me too!
tr6/21 clue please? (my last T word)
Me too, Peri. Hours ago. Weary of it. I have discovered that I have 12 words to go and actually don't acre.
follow the swinging coing pug, you are in a deep tr6
it gets a bad rep due the population it serves and people's ignorance. The best docs in the city are likely here... and actually, I chose to be a patient here nyself in January... could have gone elsewhere in the city, but the best surgeon was here... wasn't so bad
ty monkey & fish me please!
same thing happened to me yesterday MG - i barely had any words left and it was like draining water from a rock to get each one
ooops sorry TY nDAn!!!
my eyes are going buggy from this grid!!
i know - because of the population it serves you are right kj, but you are right that some of the best doctors are there and many people only see Parkland for it's negative reputation and fail to realize that it is a wonderful hospital
no prob, we all blend together sometimes
for a med. size grid it's quite the mind numbing bugger!
Thanks! I just thiought once in a while I might send some sort of snippet of an idea and ask, "How would an American hospital react to this sorty of presentation at the froint desk( like a schizophrenic I know who forgets her medication and had no money and usually can't remember her insurer). Easy, just a gut reaction. That kind of thing. And if you want to know how the Dutch would handle something I'd be jhappy to answer.
too true pugster
oh i can do that - no problem!
first bo5/18 please
I was sent free to a showing of Sicko to participate in a debate with government ministers, social workers, and insurers about how it couls someday get that bad here.

Sorry, Miss; zoned ouyt on TV. It was fascinating but I will have to fill you in another time... OK, folks. I have come to face that I do not care about my last 12 words and my sprained back does care about bed, so I'm going to lie flat to finish House, take the dog for her walk, and go to bed.
i think rat bastards is in there too
ooh, that word describes most grids
we watched in a cont ed class for licensing and debated within group - anything MM does is somewhat swayed

Oh, and kje, yes I thought so too but from the European end. I live here and am a participant in the European socialized medical stystem. The film was I think important but I was disappointed in the accuracy: very rose-colored-glasses. But I do LIKE my medical system!

miss beeze - I had the olympics on all afternoon and I missed the elbow and the fit! too many channels of Olympics!!
I know - and I LOVE to bake - so it was quite the blunder - of course, I then had to run out and get more butter and brown sugar....sheesh, what a debacle!
did you hear about the guy throwing the fit on the podium? and did you see the footage of the elbow - nasty - is there a doctor in the house?

I'll have to google and see.... I'm going to pop off and head over to facebook (****ignoring what could possibly be a snide comment from ice****)

Very nice and red! It's an OXO product, and it works very well! We haven't filled it yet, as we're not ready to really use the kitchen yet
Waiting for countertops so we can hook up the sink and the stove and the dishwasher
I like OXO products ... off to look
btw, I'm enjoying the reverse words in the grid - breakfast drink of astronauts and little annoying bugs
bug (singular)
actually, plural is backwards of past tense for what bees do
... or a ford
yes!
which is how i have decided to think of it, since the plural is allowed.
I also like it that "weird" is in there
*nods*
i just had my first skype video chat with my 9 month old nephew :) !
thanks! didn't think of a plural!
too bad warsh doesn't work - it's how my brother used to say wash
i just typed a b word by accident and it was real

I mean, are there any words that start with gno?
Good - I can't make any work!

i still miss 4 g's, two that have potential to be gno, but, seems like there aren't.

You just have to eat faster Kris...
I worked in a candy factory in a theme park for 4 summers. They always kept the A/C high to encourage people to want candy...
I know there are several pretzel factory tours in Lancaster area, I know I've been to at least one.
This is my FIL's company picnic, free tickets, free food, even free parking this year!

Well....I regret it because before the ativan she was a fairly normal lady...
wow thanks lbd - that should have been easy
was this a new prescription for her, red?
It was just an order, for an IV dose, she asked for something to help her relax. People do occasionally have idiosyncrativ reactions...it was just a pain in the neck.
poor lady what a nightmare
By now she is probably normal again. I hope.

i drank it with a st5, because then i can drink faster
The procedure itself is a breeze after drinking that stuff!
if mixed with OJ and allowed to hydrate, it's a tad more tolerable.
if you have to drink that stuff, they should at least make it tolerable.
Can't have the oj, tho.
they said no OJ, dcseain... nothing with pulp and nothing not clear
i think they should allow me to mix with alcholol
That would kill the pain of drinking it!

*****um [****orum] + a
thnx for spoon feeding me, Tyger
and me
dont get the go clue at all.
what the heck is a dr6, 27???
ooooooooooooops i had it all the time! so so sorry.
it's a silly aussie bird, Lady
an aussie bird
[also in africa]
ah... thank you for the edification
welll lets make up what a dr is.............. a bird, a fish, a molecule, a chemical, a medical term, but sounds australian to me.. definitely an animal from down under.
well went to enable and yup, bird of australia.
seems to me there are a few strange words ending in those two letters
na 5 12 plz?
Reagan's name for his wife at home
reagan had a name for his wife at home??????????
got it ty.
need na 6 18
honestly, I've never seen a stranger bunch of words.
4
anyone got the na 6 18?
snorts is a 6 18
na6 rhymes with married woman who stands up with the bride. a ma**** of honour
today's vid is a magic show, apparently
na6 is what the ancient Egyptians used for embalming
beetle we dont say the words in the grid on the chat.
it's a synopsis of David Copperfield, Tyger
say what, dawg?
ibd, dont get it. na but dont see an i in grid.
mkg, it ain't maid - it's a married woman
what DID the egyptians use? wish i knew.
married bridesmaids are called ma6 of honor, mkg
count the letters
gotcha
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh ty got it.
was watching the swimming [phelps]
na6 is a white chemical they packed into the body cavities of the corpses, to dry them out
kinda noticed that after the fact--sorry
yw, for my part. mkg, aren't you using OneLook? I know I told you about it
no worries, beetle... we all do it by accident from time to time.
that's what the Penalty Box is for :D
ta 8?
when we accidentally say a Word (from the grid), our friends tell us it's Penalty Box time :) we keep it stocked with goodies, like wine & chocolate
ta8: a spice used in cooking - especially with meats
ta8 is cooking spice
starts like road surface
thnx, Dan, once again.
nope just use lickety and the grid. one look, dont know what it is. sorry tyger.
down to 7 left
oh my, 18 to go and 17 are B's....
i hate it when that happens!
2
hi harp.
once more: http://www.onelook.com/ bookmark/save to favorites
we have all been in penalty box.
what is that site, tyger?
oww, harp :P
anyone have ra 5 12?
interesting how I've caught up with you, mkg... I'm on the same word.
It's a compendium of dictionaries. you can use question marks for the exact number of letters, or an asterisk for all words starting with the combo you enter. If you use some discrimination in entry, you usually have fewer than 20 words (sometimes many fewer) to scan thru
ahhh... thanks, tyger. I could use that at work too.
ra5/12: you guys are unlikely to know this, but it's also the first name of a famous gospel/blues lead singer of the group the Ra5 Allen Singers
yw, natts
i do have it as a favortie! so you did tell me tyger. so i went there and now what? i dont have a meaning. i have first two letters and no. of points.
womens 200 breast was also exciting [daughter is good breast stroker
enter the first letters + question marks for the missing letters - do NOT use the "all words" option. click on the common words only :)
they also have a reverse dictionary on the site
only if the word isn't in the "common words" do you want the all words; trust me
I *knew* I'd told you, because someone else emailed me about it after, mkg
tiger, i put in ra??? and have now spent a lot of time trying to figure out what it is. not easy or quick. i prefer clues.
haven't heard about any of the women swimmers this year, ndan
yup you did tell me
rhymes with what you do at a ball, mkg
mkg, did you click on the common words?
and done!
yay, phan
any last clues needed before I sign off?
I said, do NOT use "all words" - except if you don't get it in common words, because all words is a big fat headache
how do you do that???????but wait, the enable is NOT the common words!!! how often have you heard the ar 6 used or the ag 5 14 ues? i would say that half arent common at all.
oh.
and currently they've got all words set as the default :( :(
enable has common words, plus uncommon ones, and some that aren't words at all. OneLook won't help you with the not-words, tho
i see three options: search all dictionaries, find definitions and find translations. dont see common words.
well i could have gotten 10 clues already and i dont have that ra 5 word still.
MKG, which RA 5 do you need?
below the box where you enter the letters, etc., and below the find defs, etc., there is Show: all words, common words & phrases, common words only
does anyone have the ra 5 12? i give up on the onelook.
what about when there's nobody to clue??
I'm trying to HELP you help yourself
I gave you a clue, mkg....
ra 5 is like the tr 6/21 - the t
oh lady, sorry i missed it.
it's a 10:04... scroll back
ra5/12 - which natts clued for you - ra + what kids do at a prom
ty got the ra clue............from natts 10 04.
ok, well i'm stuck at about 55 wds so will have to check out that onelook site--enjoy
dare i ask for more clues? not sure................
not intending in the least to be mean, but how hard are you trying for yourself?
I'm glad to clue, but I get tired of cluing one word after another for the same person. I never ask for clues until I've tried every other avenue
lol mkg i'll clue you if i have it
maybe I'm in too grouchy a mood for the chog tonite. later, all
i love the clue way. what can i say, to me the joy of the game is how brilliant the cluers are and how clever the clues are. that IS the game for me.
harp, need so 7 first one.
so + mrs reagan
so plus na5/12
voila, done
tyger for each person the game is different. to me trying for myself is not what it is about at all. the chat is what i love and feeling that others who i dont even know are sharing the game with me. guess i am too focused on being a people person.
bye tyger
too bad tyger didnt see what i wrote. oh well.
need tr 6 24 please.
wow, womens vaults looking good

ty got it.
gee now i am so afraid to ask for clues.............wow. i thought everyone enjoyed giving them. guess not. now dont know what to do. perhaps not play anymore.
what do you need mkg?
nah, mkg... whoever's in the mood to will clue for ya
another thing you can do is read the entire chat log and see if someone else has already asked. sometimes i do that if i'm feeling self-conscious
well here is the question: am i the only one who finds it totally wonderful to get super clues and get the word from them? isnt that a game in and of itself? isnt that brilliance? i recall when i first did the grid that i was amazed at the cleverness of the clues.
i do read the chat for past clues. but to me the chat is about clues and cluing. maybe i am weird. but now i am very self conscious.
yes it is mkg you are not the only one
i also love it when someone says "15 left" and then everyone clues the person and helps til that person writes firewks. guess it is my weirdness.
its just that you've gone through grid already, so you ask in row, while other ask as they go, so not so close together, that sometimes bothers people.
so need 9 words but afraid to ask. wow that did a job on my brain.
if it seems like you're bugging the cluers just don't ask for a while
i dont like that onelook thing at all.
not everyone thinks its fun
do like smart clues, not so much the spell outs
for crying out loud, ask!
as you said.. . people play differently. I like to tackle the board without too many clues, but I catch them as they fly by. They'd never fly by if it weren't for people like you who ask for them. So it's all good!
harp i am laughing so harddddddddddddddddddd!
ok here goes: ta 6 18, the last two of them please.

i am being very silly very stupid silly. so best to buzz off and sleep it off.
good luck hshliz. and good luck all. ty lady, for your kindness and your clues. and see you again soon i hope on the chat.
you will indeed, mkg.. have a good sleep and see you next time

I put my "monkey" word in the chat instead of the grid.
