hi Sprite
Hello
hello too
herin and I are twins, I see
oh -- hadn't refreshed -- never mind -- I haven't got my cookie yet
Hi there jilli - I haven't changed my icon yet either - someone missed KJE's cookie recipe so I put it in my bio for her, but will change to another favourite
you guys rock :) Please do send Kiwi the recipe too, she is going to make us a babble cook book on line!
this one of KJE's is so good, have made it a second time already
kia ora family good luck its an easy peasy lemon squeezy grid and i did it in 11 min without licketys list so you all should be able to do it in a flash too
No i have a cookie
see it now herin
wow Kiwi, 11 minutes! that must be a record
Yah. Groovy monster. Having heaps of fun with word twist
no flosey KnightTime did it in 9 min lol
not going to rush! Didn't sleep until 3.30 am and now not able to sleep in... and I never liked rushing anyway, lol
I won't be rushing either Sprite, hope you'll be able to catch a nap sometime today
btw even tho i havent changed icon or profile - my utmost respect is to our own jilli at her ability to be a computer guru at her most respectful age :)
pfft to rushing
and heres hoping i can be as brainy as you are jilli when i catch up with you lol
I hope so too, flosey! Bound to collapse somewhere in the afternoon, lol, that is my dip time.
Note to self drink a wheat grass based drink in a cup that isn't see through
WAAAAAAAAAAAA new facebook sucks
ok, here I am properly now *listening for cheers from the audience*
i actually dont mind it - i think its easier to find things
yayyyyyyy jilli! Delicious cookie!!!!!
WAAA I was just getting used to the old one.
does it update automatically? Facebook I mean, when you log on?
Yes Sprite it has :(
I haven't even started to do the grid
ok, good, one worry less
take your time, jilli, this one is so small and easy it pays to pace yourself ;)
I'll do that, sprite -- and what's in your cookie?
I gave up translating yesterday, jilli. It is a typically dutch recipe and I can't find the translation of the spices etc that go into it.
ok icon and profile updated
the worst is, in Dutch the spices are simply called cook-spices
well -- "spice cookie" will do!
I dont like it as it takes too long to load
ok, have my cookie icon but will have to wait until tomorrow to add the recipe
and I bet there is something similar in english, but I cannot find it :(
Kiwi -- great icon, great story, great recipe (probably)!
tyk jilli
um does this mean i could actually do this grid
lovely story, Kiwi
you can, lady, promise *hug*
recipe sounds good Kiwi - have never followed one by grams though
cheers. I have a feeling im going to be ill today
like i said herin KT did it in 9 min I did it in 11 - Chaks, Ruru, and a few others have finished too
would you like me to translate it flosey
zBut that is Knight he finishes in 5 min with a 500 grid
you don't sound like yourself, indeed, lady. Take it easy hun.
oops -- I had forgotten to save the description of my cookie
would be an idea, Kiwi, for the Babble cook book... both measurements in the recipes. Would that be doable, you think?
I have guts about a litre of juice and been to the gym. Me and that much juice = bad
OH and i put my name down for the 5k walk
wow lady
i can do that
kiwi, we use cups and tablespoons and such, not metric and not ounces and pints and things either.
that would make it very accessible for all of us, Kiwi. This is going to be a big success :D
maybe we can make a clear table of all of those, jilli and Kiwi? Together we can work it out.
there are some cookbooks, I think, which show all three methods -- maybe a website?
hello Fellow Babblers
did the test grid earlier waiting for the real thing
hi Lore
and of course had to come back to show Kiwi our MallowPuffs
Kiwi, am thinking, but don't know if that is possible: a possibility to switch from system to system with a button?
hi lobo! *hug*
fern ferns
hi sprite hugs
lolllll lobo
jilli! Now for some I don't have yet!
I wish I could remember the name we hd for those MallowPuffs
hI Lore
Jill is the Mallow puffs a babble anon thingie?
someone from the states said they call them moonpies jilli
mallowpies?
no kidding, sprite! How could I do that -- oh, I see, two words, gaaa
hey herin
love it lore - i went for something more traditional lol
oh yes, that was it, moonpies... someone mentioned that word a couple of days ago
it is possible spritey but its a bit out of my programming league but i can just put them next to each other on the recipe
we had another name in Quebec
hey kiwi have a good trip yesterday
almost as perfect, Kiwi. You rock!
didnt go to P/North to get your haircut did you! lol
yeah it was good fun - we got to go through palmy airport and see all the things that most ppl dont get to see
like the control tower and the baggage handling area and the customs and immigration and police and laboratory areas
jilli, in the netherlands they were known as negro-kisses, for as long as they exist. But recently the firm that makes them has decided that was not a PC name and changed it. Got lots of protests.
you didnt say whether you went and got a haircut kiwi?
all done...
too quick tonight
wtg mikes!
all done
wtg smudge!
kiwi could of peanut brownies eh? wonderif they are going to change that name!
Jill do you mean this?http://tinyurl.com/62p5rg
sprite is that almonds in your cookie
no i didnt get a chance to go for a drive because i was just a passenger rofl
woohooo wtg mikes ^5
yes, lobo. Speculaas met amandelen... Spice cook with almonds :) The thick variety.
please dont forget to email me your recipes sometime soon too
oh how did i know sprite? lol
Speculaas comes in thin and small form, in big and thick form, and in stuffed form, with almond spice in it.
yes, herin, they look like that
have to go to griffins for mine kiwi did you see my peanut brownie suggestion
Ok um let me think, Is it something you bake yourself?
oh bugger next time kiwi wont tell on you promise hugs lol
talking to me, lady?
herin, was that question for me? About baking them yourself? If so, what I'm talking about are exactly like lore's picture of mallow puffs, but they have a totally different name in Quebec -- maybe here too.
i dont like peanut brownies lol
No Jill. Jill is it something you bake or buy?
jilli, could it be S'mores or Mallomars?
JILLLIE i found it
http://tinyurl.com/2ekajs
You buy the things I'm talking about
Is that Tiny url it?
ah, good one, lady, that link has lots of names for them
jilliThe Whippet cookie is a distinct part of Quebec culture because it does not travel well outside its area of production. This is partly because the pure chocolate melts very easily (compared with a chocolate mixture) and therefore they require refrigerated transport in summer.
and jilli, did you see my post about the dutch name?
ginger cookies with vanilla cream in the middle
wb ruru did you enjoy the walk?
hi ruru
Hi Ru
Hi everyone... just sticking myself into the conversation...

kia ora dee happy babbling
Whippets is right, but there's yet another name not in that list.

THANKS LORE for the mental image i NEEEDED for the dick shorts aka budgie smuglers
hi dee hi.
finished except for su4/6 and have exhausted the monkeys, any clues please?
Pav... any guy who shows up in the chat finds himself su6ly abused by sexually explicit comments about speedos and etc
ruru, be sure to send Kiwi a recipe (or more)... she is going to make us a babble cook book online!
now who is going to translate that aussie lingo herin!!?? lol'
hugs jili, kiwi, herin, flosey, lore
Spunky, yeah that's the word I would have selected from a zillion we Bablers have come to know...;)
shorten the su 6 flosey
hi Dee
hey, who started this line of convo by saying he'd had a quickie? That was not a woman.
hi Volley hugs any news on the job interview yet
i think ruru started this conversation weeks ago lol
Jill: Dare Viva Puff Cookies A tasty mix of crunchy cookie, chewy marshmallow and tasty filling smothered in a delicious chocolaty coating.
yeah Pav started it..lol
I personally don't believe in quickies
no i know who started it
lol PAV
no i know who started it
that's the su4/7 Kiwi, need the last su word, its 4/6
that's the su4/7 Kiwi, need the last su word, its 4/6
jill: http://tinyurl.com/6mzyrm
they put her off another 2 weeks, didn't say "no", but haven't said "yes" either; she is on pins and needles waiting... we are afraid they are going to choose the male candidate
I am still trying to figure out what dick shorts are?
quickies are nice appetizers but bad main courses.
I must say the last time I wore my Speedos, I was asked to trade by my lab partner who was stuck with trunks...as much as I wished for turnks, I paid dearly for those Speedos and I wasn't gonna give them up...and NOT I started anything this eve...
sounds like another word for a poop
i started it way back when i showed everyone yoru photo ruru lol
ruru, I do know what short dicks are, but that is probably not the same
Thanks guys i believe i have lost my sanity.
ty for asking lore
we know you didnt Pav ruru is just trying to pass blame as usual rofl
wow lady, does that mean you managed to find it first? You do better than I ever did!
volley is it possible they have engaged another candidate on a two week trial period and have your daugther on standby
herin we all lost our sanity years ago on here lol
I am a professional sh** disturber

all these cookies are making me hungry...
wow, flosey! Well, you did hope for a little one!
mmmm Me?
goodnight all
we don't think so, but who knows? They may have made him an offer and are waiting for reply. Supposedly their budget $ have not been released yet. My hubby thinks they are afraid to hire a female due to travel requirements (she would be only female at that level)...
night flosey, sleep well
nite flosey sweetest dreams
night Flosey
Night Flosey

goodnight floseyu sleep well
thats our herin
I refuse to grow up...
What im a good misses.
byue herin
I'm sorry...was perusing the icons for porn...to send to ruru.....
seems so, and they have fewer employees than is regulated by governments (small business laws), so they can do what they want. I am praying she gets the job if it is a good fit both ways, and praying that if she doesn't get this job that another opportunity will present itself.
that is the spirit, ruru.
this is babbleland no adults allowed only pixies fairies dogs cats and lots of lobos heheheh
*hugs lobo*
Um Would like to know if Jill has been put out of her cookie dellema misery
everone's a lobo..woof woof woof..How'd you now I went to the Univ of New MExico whose mascot is the lobo?
actually not into porn there pav.. I prefer the real deal..
I knew a guy named Lobo once...cool character
not completely, lady. One name was bull's eye (whippet I think), but there was another one not mentioned on the site that keeps bugging her.
well I can't send a real woman...that would be against the law...
<real life nickname is ladyloco>
http://tinyurl.com/6mzyrm
crossing internet lines?
loco seems to suit you, Kiwi 0:-)
'xactly...the feds look everywhere...
only if she has motive sprite
watching porn is like watching people enjoy a good meal... I prefer the real deal too.
lol ruru
gotcha..darn those feds
funny analogy there sprite...lol
penalty box for ruru
oops pb for ru
herin -- it was "Chocolate Empires" I was thinking of, made by Viau -- I hadn't read the Wikipedia piece carefully enough: "Whippet cookies first came to the market in 1927, although they had been produced and distributed by Viau under the name "Empire" as early as 1901. Today, the cookies are still produced in Montreal at the east end of the Viau factory, which is now owned by Culinar Inc. They are currently available with both dark chocolate and milk chocolate coatings, and with several flavors of fruit jam filling inside the marshmallow."
LOL Sprite
*grin*
I can't go into the penalty box.. I am done..
yayyyyy jilli! Nice to have that settled, right?
Wonderful Jill glad to help. We call those sorts of biscuits Royals
of course you can, ruru. And you will if you don't behave.
i used to ride motorcross bikes in my youth and my fellow riders used to yell out watch out for the loco lady as i went passed lol so it became ladyloco
If I go Pav goes too.. we can have a glass of Pinot Noir..
spoken like a true mother, sprite lol
hi all, how's things?
lol Dee, does it show? :)

Hi Book

walks off to PB ... now has to shout to everyone
herin, sprite, hi there
HI GWEN
LOL
HI GWEN!
Thanks, herin and all -- you're a great google-sleuth! Now I'll be a ble to sleep tonight, lol. Meanwhile I've only found 26 words :(
Wonderful Jill
your voice carries far, ruru, and PAV too. Just pronunciate clearly and you won't have to yell
gm
ruru, i can hear ya just fine 8-)
up early there KJe?
morning kje! Flosey sang your praise earlier for the ginger cookies!
enunciate, sprite, or pronounce -- pronunciate is a neat neologism, lol
but we're having some Pinot...
Hi KJE
hi kje :)
yes, much too early ruru
hi KJE!
yes and it is delicious
thanks sprite
now for the grid and then bed...
argh, really jilli? How terrible, it is locked in my head as a real word. Probably from the French then? THanks for telling me!~

When did hurshy get arrested?
hahaha
snap, ruru :D
poor hurshy in herins drawers or was that cupboards??
Not that hurshy the other sort :)
on countdown 19 to go - fastest i have ever gone
I guess no one else likes Twinkies?...oh well, all for me!...Kiwi...what is caster sugar?
it is a speedy grid, Tanja, wtg!
watch out for the G Force Tanja!!
I used to make Twinkies Pav..
hey, I like twinkies.
caster sugar is just very small refined normal sugar
well PAV you have been very quiet in the PB wonder what you been up to then?
in a factory or hommmade
just throw normal sugar in a blender/food processer and make into almost dust lol
factory
"that is a BIG twinkie" - quote from Ghost Busters
being a lobo you been smiffing and eating everything hey?
<never ever had or tried twinkies
you haven't missed much kiwi
They do have really bad ingredients
I was reading Kiwi's recipe for the Anzac biscuits...caster sugar = powdered sugar?
I am sort of opposed tojunk food in general
Love anzac cookies .. without nuts however
Did you know that if we have an appocalypse the only thing surviving would be roaches twinkies and keith richards.
some "junk food" is okay but twinkies are anathema to me
ROFL herin
HEY> ANZAC BISCUITS THEY ARE NOT AMERICAN
enough food for the roaches then
surely you can add tommy lee and gene simmons to that list
the Twickies were my BD gift to self, since I didn't get the white cake I was hoping for...and yes, I did share the double fudge choc cake withthe babblers on Thursday, thee was a piece left over, when I visited the PB on Sat...
welll have it your way herin..
arg, i'm getting hungry1 (but not for twinkies)
you in the PB in a regular way there pav?
pav - caster sugar is inbetween normal sugar and powdered (icing) sugar in consistency
I think I'll change my cookie to something I've actually made (decades ago)
Sorry for my snippyness but it shits me to tears that cookies are replacing biscuits in Aus and ANZACS are as aus/nz as can be.
its a very fine sugar
*** packs up a four pack of Twinkies for Gwen.. just to check her stamina ***
caster sugar is sold in the states as "super fine" sugar
PAv the united states call it Superfine sugar
ruru, as I mentioned on Sat, I fear I have adult onset ADD, so generally my fingers (when theyare corrdinatred) will let aword slip in..somehow
*gives lady a big hug*
anzac bicsuits do NOT have peanuts in then lol and they are biscuits not cookies lolol
well AMericans put shrimp on the Barbie well before the australians ever did.. and we didn't get snippy
I like Ding Dongs and twinkies and hostess cakes got to love USA foods
<is very territorial when it comes to anzac biscuits and pavlovas lol
I used to make ding dongs too
*stands up firmly as a mum and forbids a food fight*
kiwi, i believe that our word cookie is your word for biscuit
Groovy you can have the Pav and i thing we have mutually agreed that ANZACs are a both thing
FOOOD FIGHT
well I almost picked up a box of Ding Dongs, but if the crumbs ever hit the floor the poopies would be hurtin...so just Twinkies...
i think you started a ding dong ruru naughty boy
I love them however they are made.. they are yummy
i know it is gwen lol
i might agree with ya on that herin lolol
Oh do you realise how many food fights crappy McDonald pickles have started :D
*puts lady in a cold shower*
omg lore guess which polititian is coming out of retirement
I have never eaten at Mc Donalds
straight jacket first i think
No friggen way to a cold shower its freezing here
Ross Perot?

david lange

self saucing sounds interesting
never knew they were for eating, PAV
self saucing? that gives me the willies
I thought those were for frisbees
pizzas?
yup
oh!, they're also good for day after breakfasts...
ewwwwwwwwww

eewwwwww

EWWWWWWWWWWW
*puts lady in that straight jacket and shoves her under a cold shower*
<sends mop and bucket for herin to clean up
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
dent
day old pizza isn't the end of the world!, good lord! what do you have in a rush?
dents
speaking of pizza, did you know that with practice you can throw a raw slice of pepperoni like a frisbee and make it go about 40 feet?
dens
I would rather have tequilla and corn flakes
warned you... no complaining now
no shower kje not den
very good kje
oops
hey, with enough practice I can throw ruru that far
now put them in the other box and they will add up to points
ar ar ar

that's how it happens, kje. Next time make it a D word I don't have, I am fighting with those.
might prefer to keep you close for a hug and a cuddle then, ruru :)
new cookie here
at the pizza place we had lots of "food games" to keep from getting bored. blue quarters . . . beef darts . . . and dollar bill poker (oh, that one is not a food game)

mu
quiet in here today, is there a party i am unaware of?
hey guy....easier one today
just need 9 more (no list used yet)
well dne ish I have 44 left with no list yet (lol)
it is quiet tonight maybe there is a party somewhere
nobody invited me....typical!!!
me neither !!
I hope you live in a safe place in Israel Ish
yep.....I'm in the far south......nice and quiet here!!!!
That is good, I live in Perth which must be one of the safest places on earth
my wife grew up on the other side, Sydney
Have been to Sydney a lot and I love it-great food and really beautiful and lots of fun
lurking - sandyloo - you have my attention re: perth - safest place on earth... just looked at map, right near all the water too! i have thoughts of expatting somewhere (esp if elections dont go my way)...
time to take a lunch break...later
fran - Perth has the best beaches in the world and a great river for sailing watersking ect
i'm going to have to do some investigating
It's a great lifestyle here but it does get hot in the summer
uh oh. how hot? ;)
humid or just hot?
We have a mediterranean climate and the food here is good and we have a great wine industry as well
i'm reading that as humid : /
we do love us some vino though!
it's not humid heat -dry and can get to 110 when we have a hot spell - on the whole a great climate
oh ok! i can do hot. i can't do humid. i'm back on board ;)
They have the Doctor in the West to keep it nice. Hi Sandy & Franny
good mrorning and Hi to my neighbor in Perth, from Perth Amboy, NJ!
hi
hi JBV
Anybody would love it here but Australia has some fantastic places - Noosa in Queensland is great
(not the safest place on earth, but we do have a lovely waterfront)
lol jbv
Cairns is better though
Cairns is lovely but can get very humid and hot
ok that one is x'd out then. sticking with perth. how about sydney - dry there also?
hi lynx
Sydney is nice weather most of the time
Nice beaches in Sydney but too many rips
Sydney is more 'big city/cosmopolitan and quite expensive to live in. Exciting for a younger person
i have no idea whats involved in expatting, but i'm seriously going to look into it. also have a friend (american) in malta who hates it there and is looking to land somewhere new. perhaps we can both end up out your way. ;)
well, i'm an old person (by some standards) so maybe sydney isn't for me. plus, it's expensive enough here in new england - looking to downsize expenses
Come to melbourne, I think this is where all the Maltese came when they emmigrated! huge population of them
Lynxx is right about Sydney but it just depends what you are looking for- Try a visit but Aus is a gorgeous happy place to live whereever you choose
quite a big decision, franny - do you have family or friends anywhere to try it out for a while - most countries make it difficult unless you have a guaranteed job, etc.
oh, well, she's actually not a fan of the maltese people - part of why she hates it there ;) but i'll tell her
no jbv - just me and my husband and load of cats and dogs.
lol - they are a race unto themselves - are they all bossy - and short?
fran my relations from florida have just been here - they think its expensive here
mmm...you'll have issues with quarantine bringing in animals
based on my limited life experience with Maltese and Maltese-Americans, I'd say they're very different from Australians - malta is a small island, very closed and traditional, australia is open and diverse, n'est-ce pas?
lol i have no idea lynxx. oh dear, wondered about that. that's why england isn't on the list. cant have them locked up for 6 mos
strict quarantine here and you have to have all sorts of innoculations for them first
we have no rabies here
???there is a Babbler who spends 6 mths in UK & then 6 mths in US and travels with her animal. I thought quarantine laws must have been more relaxed with animals travelling
ah, well... like i said, lots of investigating to do. my pets are totally clean - all indoor and well kept.
fran that counts for nothing when you bring them here they all have to go through quarantine
i understand sandy
part and parcel I guess.
JBV - yes quite open and diverse. We seem to have immigrants from specific countries coming in waves...that has been an issue in the past but they seem to integrate into the communities much easier now.
interesting conversation... lots of talk over last couple of elections of leaving US if elections don't land on your side... I find that curious (not that I am not sympathetic, mind you) but just curious of what that says about living in a democracy and if other generations have felt that way
We had interesting conversations with our relatives about your politics
yes, kje, I would just remind everyone about the grass being greener, etc..... the most I have ever lived outside of U.S. is a matter of months, but enough to know I couldn't make a life of it
We were surprised at some of their attitudes
its only been the last several years that i've questioned my country and its "freedom". not one fiber of my being agrees with the direction its been going and where it would Continue to go if mccain wins
what was that sandy?
They were for your gun laws for instance
Most Australians view your gun laws with horror
as do a lot of americans, fyi
Morning Everyone. Franny, yes I am very worried about the upcoming elections. Canada is a great option.
true, still curious though of the idea of leaving. I guess on one hand, we do have the freedom to do that, but on the other, not sure what it says of our generation
We thought that most Americans would not like McCain but they were undecided on who to vote for
They raised some interesting points for both sides
Hi Red & kje
hi lynxx
my husband has already mentioned canada, red.. more than once ;)
Another thing is that I think your media is more controlled than ours and they were surprised at that
kje - i'm curious what You think this idea means... you're in texas - i'm assuming our views are quite different re. politics
you assume wrong
st
we are bombareded by messages that we are the freest country, but in reality the government controls a lot of access to information.
oy the media. dont get me started! lol i majored in journalism, but by the time i graduated (11 yrs ago) i was so disgusted with the industry i abandoned that plan
by the way, my entire career has been with people who have immigrated to the U.S. for opportunity and The Dream - so I see the experience from the other side - it is quite difficult to adapt to another culture in daily life no matter how great the benefits
ok, my bad kje. ;)
In Australia we have news and programs from all over the world - I notice very little diversity from American tv shows in the usa
see, that is what I am talking about... I think that idea is pervasive in our generation... get disgusted and leave rather than staying and fixing
I thin kkje that there is more a feeling of desperation than disgust.
same is happening in my field, medicine, get disillusioned and leave instead of fighting the forces that move us in directions we don't like
i've never felt more powerless than with this admin. kje. it's like they can do whatever the f*** they want and suffer no consequences
just b/c there are not immediate consequences does not mean there are no consequences...
Bush has affected the way the world looks at America I'm afraid
those of us who lived through the 60's (anyone out there?) know that people do have power to change things - we need some strong youth leaders, don't see much of that
do YOU think bush/rove/etc will pay ANY price for what they've done?
Bush has affected the wya I look at America and I live here.
Oh what is todays icon...
depends on what you mean by "pay", but yes, in general I believe that people do reap what they sow
favorite cookie red
red, did you accept the job in MD?
The thing is America has to get out there and VOTE
I cringe at the thought of McCain winning but I'm disillusioned about national politics. Lived through the 60's, yes, saw wonderful things happen, which makes the current situtaion seem ever more hopeless.
well, I've done that sandy - my side keeps losing :( makes me feel i'm in an alternate universe that so many dont see the Idiocy of The Shrub
Franny, I felt that way when he was re-elected. Who could vote for him a second time!
the shrub has a popularity rating in the 20s, I think most americans share that thought, fran
they just are better about getting the vote out, fact is the older americans who are their base are better at getting out and voting than younger americans, obama's base
yet they elected him, TWICE. even my best friend from high school *sob* i cant look at her the same way
disillusionment led to action in the 60's, that's what's missing now - however I see more active involvement by young people in Obama's campaign, which give me some hope
Kje I was subbed for it yesterday, they have not called to interview yet. They want someone to start on Oct 6 and I cant until the 20th...
aaahhh - well, good luck red. let me know the outcome and I'll email you a list of my favorite places in the area
yes i Do feel a new sense of hope with obama, but there are still SO many racists here, i'm worried
Nice. Oddly, I did get a call from FL Hospital for January, so I have that interview today....wierd.
yes, THAT is what I mean jbv.... why this very common idea about leaving rather than active involvement? it is everywhere...
i'm with you, kje, you make the posters, I'll get people on the bus, let's meet in DC!!!
thought you wanted to avoid the snowbirds red!
but kje - have You ever tried to change the mind of a conservative??? doesn't happen. only 'change' i see possible IS getting people who Dont vote to get off their arses
name date and time jbv! while there we can go for tapas at one of my favorite restaurants!
between now and the election, we may see a lot more bad news about the economy which will change people's minds
Gotta go. Bye everyone and Good luck America!
bye lynxx
lol bye lynxx
where is that, kje? I know a little of DC - lived there for 8 years
Well, fl hospit. pays incredibly well and is offering a completion bous,.
Jaleo
good deal red
We have a lot about your economy on the news here at the moment
you do? like the housing market, banks?
"our economy" may affect the world economy, too - news is not good
our economy is not like ti could be....it needs helllp
know it, JBV?
falling back asleep. BBL.
ciao
bye red... I may be right behind you
no, kje, haven't lived there for a while, but I love tapas! I may be going in November
I feel like asparagus and mushroom risotto for dinner Will someone come over and cook it for me!
politic talk is enough to put anyone to sleep ;)
sandy, I cooked asparagus last night - saved some for you...
yum sandy! if you find someone, let me know what time dinner is!
Thanks I can't be bothered cooking
Jaleo in the Penn Quarter. They opened one somewhere else recently (trying to remember where), but I do not think it is as good
just an aside (from the very interesting political chat) - but HOW in the world can I find 58 more words with only one little u in the middle of this grid???
I heard on the grapevine that there are some strange words
have the white sangria, jbv, made with cava, and spinacjh with pine nuts and raisins... and manchego and apple salad.... and cod fritters... and papas bravas... so many good things!!!
lol i have 56 to go jb
No talking like this about food! I will be forced to cook
omg kje. stop it! i'm on a diet! lol
I have 40 left but going to lickety now
it is easy sandy - finished with no list and no chog clues... everyone I saw on earlier was saying the same, mrp got 84 in 20 minutes
i have a friend in australia, and years ago when i was a teenager i planned to take my dads boat and swim past the north pole and then round to aus. (this is in reply to when perth was dominating the chat!)
yum, kje, but most of that doesn't fit in with my eating plan
mrp is too smart for her own good ;)
lol bfsog
lol bfsog ... thanks for following along!
so is kje This is never easy for me!!
although mr colombus told us the word was round, looking at a globe i thought it would be quick. the thing is my dads boat is just a small fishing boat!
I have to have some wine now
G'd morning Babblers! Cracked off 96 words, and am now staring at the grid like it's in Greek. :p
I was not so fast
hello lor
hi lori and bfsog
lol lori. yeah, i hadn't noticed til jbv mentioned, that there's only THREE vowels today. now i'm all - huh?
Adds a lovely dimension to the grid, doesn't it Fran. :)
but that almost makes it easier... less choices, thus even the weird ones are easier to monkey, cuz there are limited choices
one useless one in the upper left, one brave e standing all alone, and the u carrying the burden of most of the words
true jbv - the u is overworked... should strike for higher points pay
The us is having its 15 minutes of fame.
go U!
ohhhh you silly smart word people. never fail to make me chuckle.
I'll throw a "smart word" in - (this is the crowd that can appreciate it) - the limited choices kje mentioned are called "co-occurrence constraints" in linguistics - the possible combinations of letters /sounds that make up words
uh-oh, i killed the chat!
lol
I concur with the occurrence
:) lori
like it jbv
: D
Good Morning everyone.
like the idea... thinking of how it applies in medicine... may have to use it as an analogy with my students just to freak 'em out! LOL
hi elder
G'd morning elder!
hi elder
so clurk can be a word, although it isn't, but mumr can't (just tried it, tho, cause in babble, you can never be sure)
hello elder
sk
yes, tried all kinds of weird ones jbv - LOL
I have monkeyed every combo (well, obviously not) and cannot find the first du4 - anyone?
dead missiles that do not explode could be called du4
don't know if it's the first - but do you have a slang word for clothes - rhymes with soap s***
Du/4 um.. could be said by Homer.
and plural.
du, just before dark?
Milk Du** is a chewy candy : )
That's it - but those letters aren't contiguous!
LOL - look again christi
Oh piffle. Sorry to be dumb.
Lorip, then we move on to the words that gives me tremours:)
first du 4 is a plural that is defined as my first 2 ex husbands....
nope, not dumb... still early!
LOl !!
: D
80 is our expected high today - heaven!
LoriP... if and when there is a next time.. send the said person for an assessment.:)
Perhaps I need the assessment elder....
LOL... !!!
i'm so over the 80s. supposed to be 70s rest of this week and i'm in heaven. fallllll is on its way!
impossible lori you play babble you must be ok!
70's predicted here all week, with sun! I love Fall.
.LoriP.. no surely not ... its them... love blinds the caring and senitive.
gotta run, nice chatting with you all, good luck!
lol sandy. phew!
ciao
Later JBV, have a good one.
Bye JBV..
LoriP.. good autumn week .. nice.
Making apple jelly, all that good stuff. I love it.
LoriP.um... perhaps best to keep to Preserving, keeps you out of mischief :)
I doubt that elder. I have trouble dow to a fine art. We all have skills, mine just aren't helpful that's all.
omg! kink of light on vowels today:/
LoriP.. and how you doing.. ? managing ok..:)
Hello Cross, they are in wait for their day of brilliance!
lol well put elder;)
:)
i can imagine that it will take cross about 10mins to finish the grid!
good morning all. 7 left and truly stuck. Could someone help me with the third u? I have the cows appendage and plural.
Sandy, well that's good... he can then clue ::))
Good I always need clues
plural word, uses 4th letter......
the ur 4 that is
21 left
thanks Lori!
Earlier, tip would have been helpful LoriP :)
Go sandy!
:p @ elder
argh 22 to go here and i dont see the light at the end of the tunnel
Saint.. for goodness sake ! did you never see the film.. Don't go towards the light !!
Saint.. for goodness sake ! did you never see the film.. Don't go towards the light !!
Go franny go!
see just .. what it made me do !!
thats all i needed to hear elder. i feel better now :)
time to slog through them: for c's I have: cr4/7,cr5/16,cr4/6,cr5/14,cr7/40.cr6/2 4,cu4/7,cu4/7,cu5/16,cu4/6,cu5/14,cu3/ 6,cu5/14,cu4/10. What am I missing? Thanks!
oops-obviously that cu3 is a cu4.
cl 7
Eva.. not that far yet with the C's sorry.
cl 7/36?
yes
Wow, that was timely Lori......
cl 7/36= a group or gathering of objects
have that one Lori-unless there's more than on-forgot to list it.
I have that on CL7
9 cu's, 6 cr's, 1 cl
so I'm missing a cu. Thanks
Smarty pants !!:)
LoriP.. at this rate DENSA will throw you out !
got it. Thanks for narrowing it down for me.
densa anything like mensa?
DENSA rocks!
do they sit around all day and compare brain pans?
I think I should join Densa not mensa!
lol
As prez of DENSA, let me just say, frown on thinking, and comparisons are good, for continued deflation of our egos.
My personal goal is to take inferiority to new heights.
excuse my naivity, but whats Densa?
lol i just googled densa..now i can join!:)
quite.. well spoken.. lol.
bfsog, it's just a parody of the intellectual elite aka MENSA
i see,
I'm the intellectual delete. Down with intelligence!
Ru/4 bring back memories of early little ones food.
if they are that smart the least they can do is cook the rest of us up some lottery numbers or a cure for damn cancer:)
good morning all just sent kids off to school now i can have some me time and babble
morning han:)
G'd morning haneef. cross, world peace and a fuel that doesn't cause agricultural nightmares and hunger would be nice too.
Cross.. I have learnt through life that Intelligence does not equate with thinking out of the box of good manners.
quite so
Hello Han.
.. 'and good manners'
i agree with that lori..seen alber ta lately? place is turing into a tar sand quagmire:(
mm babble expert still has some lil nigg ling issues
I just googled Densa - now I'm a member too
see? we can all join!
i'm feeling wicked smart today! 15 to go! though... i think that may be it. still yet, good way to start the day
I don't want to join.. I could not compete with LoriP:)
fireworks! Can now go and be productive.
yaa for eva! 21 gun salute for you!:))
Eva. well done !!
Go franny go! I'm afraid that because of your smartiness, we have rejected your application, and are referring you to MENSA. :-)
Congratulations Eva! Don't waste the day being productive though, enjoy 'yerself.
ohhh fear not lorip. this is an anomoly. i didn't break 1000 on my SATs ;)
LoriP... re Saintfranny LOL
I'm not a very good recruiter am I elder.
16 to go
I'm racing you Fran!!
Don't know if it's really productivity, but I'm bound and determined to slog through all old files and organize things. Don't worry-I only do this once in a blue moon, but it is so satisfying to throw massive piles away. Andif you ignore things for long enough, most of them are not longer relevant.
lol eva..just scan it all and toss it:)
put it all on a single key drive and hang it on a key chain
lol Eva. That's my strategy too! Shredding papers, and/or lighting them afire in the burning barrel is so therapeutic and satisfying.
i know sandy you're hot on my heels
I have boxes like that eva
15 now fran
***plays Roadrunner/Wile E Coyote type music in the backgrounds while franny and sandy duke it out***
Most of it doesn't even deserve scanning. I mean how many old phone bills does one really need? I know I should probably shred, burn, etc, but living in the middle of nowhere, I don't tend to worry about it much.
Shredding is excellent too.. I place people in there.
i find it interesting that 104 words can be made using only 3 vowels
If I could shred Fran I would be sure of winning
i use the 3 minth rule on bills in that if they havent come back to try and bill you twice within 3 months, then your safe;0
I think we bought a shredder once, but I don't know where it is. Maybe when I sort through everything it will appear. It would make good mulch for the garlic and strawberry. Shades of Fargo elder!
month even
Indeed Haneef, it was a gooder.
Eva. you live in the middle of nowhere but your rubbish could be go to more urban areas.
Fargo! Love love love LOVE that movie.
lol@ the shredder that is lost under the mounds of old paperwork!
Eva.. you can also put it in compost bin.
I purged phone bills, power bills etc literally from 8 years ago. Why on earth did I have them? Slovenliness. heh
400 pounds of old shredded bills and one tea bag does not seem to make good compost;)
Well kids, it's been a slice, but I am off to scour the grocery stores for markdowns. thanks for the conversation, and enjoy 'yer day!
I have shoe boxes and concertina files for paper work.. here the thinking is, keep all for 5 years just in case ( Tax inspectors ).
true elder. I probably should be more cautious, but I guess that each of us finds the level of protection we can bear, and shredding seems a bit over my line. I may regret that someday, but it feels like the list of things one could be careful about, protect against, is every growing and for me, thinking about that direction too much feels like not the way I want to live.
Welll done!!! LoriP have a good day, treat your self.. :)
a bonfire is an appealing thought, but since one of our neighbor's houses burnt down last month, I'm a bit wary.
bye lor
Eva, just shred stuff that could lead to my banking details and if I have any confidential out of date work stuff.
I need to shred our bank details so my husband can't see the bank statement
Sandy.. LOL !!
hmmm elder, you seem to have a good understanding of that concept
Sandy, sadly.. lol
well people, stuck long enough, must seek nourishment now... been fab chatting with ya'll
bye fran
woo-hoo! fireworks! I believe this sets my best time...
good going amelu
Well done amel I still have 3
tyvm! I had to use the list for the last 15 or so... and thought I'd already entered at least 1/2 of them, LOL!
1 left

bzzz - did you find your recipe box?
KJE, have you heard of cheese straws?
yes
No, I haven't found it yet. =9
Are they a southern thing?
wouldn't that be : 6
LOL
missing two of the D words, have 3 de, 1 dr, 7 du
no, don't think so, but have no idea... I'm not really southern
It was supposed to be =(
1. - texas isn't really the south - it is southwest, not like georgia, carolinas, mississippi, alabama, etc
I've only seen heard of them since we moved to NC.
2. my parents are northerners, so we didn't grow up eating some traditional things
I've heard of cheese straws, don't think I have eaten them tho
And I have been doing an "informal" survey of babblers to see which regions have heard of them.
I am from Pa
I am going to make some today.
just a long crunchy cheese cracker... add pepper to batter, wrap with proscuitto - yummm
*yawn* morning all...peri, I have 8 du's
Hi, Pini, will keep looking
(still missing 1 d)
doubt if it is as much of a regional issue as a foodie issue... I know them from restaurants and cooking magazines... nice cocktail ho d' oevr
I think that is where I know them from too
hors d' oeuvre
or something close - LOL
what d?
bbs, doing laundry 8-)
later peri
or should say :-( my cat refuses to help with any household chores!
the one with 9 (2nd column, 3rd row)
no 9
oooh - nm
my last word was from that d... a dr 4/7 instrument... how lame was that!
I still need five of those Ds
I'm gathering it's a DU, but don't know what else I can pull out of it...
Grrrr. Mgr has still not called back. I want to go swimming but I am afraid I wont know if the phone rings while I am in the pool.
use a lot of the c words but make them d words
wait until time he said and then leave. send him a message that said you had other plans and will set another time - that is rude and unprofessional
next time, tell him to set a specific time... your time is too valuable for that
got it, thx, kje
He did set a specific time!!!
it was for 10:00 am.
well, if he didn't meet it, tell him you are busy and will have to set another time
When he didnt call, I called over ot the hospital, and apparently they are how strange, short staffed LOL and would call me back within the hour.
if his missed his "specific" time, and you have been available "specifically" for that, then it's not your problem anymore...
send him a message that says, sorry we missed, I waited until X time, but had to go to other appts, let's set another time, thanks
Problem is this is the peach job in Florida. So I need to just chill and wait for the phone.
I'm thinking about asking the lifeguard to just let me know if the phone rings.
I would rather wrap itup today.
...like kje said, your time is equally as valuable as his...
or call him instead of waiting...
not necessarily red... no need to grovel... you have options and he should know that, be polite, but firm and your time is valuable, he'll understand that. the problem is that you have no idea what has come up and can sit there waiting forever... so just reset the time... that is NOT a bad thing to do
...let him know that you were expecting a call and that, when you didn't hear from him, gave him a buffer of time and then called him...
Well, I'm not groveling, so far, when I called, they decided I was "very resourceful" I will probably get the job because my resume is very good. I think my resume is better than I am.
ridiculous comment red... your resume is you
: )
but I might just go ahead and drive up to the other hospital and get my wallet.
OK so maybe I look better on paper.
you know how hospitals can be, something probably came up and distracted him... just leave a message letting him know you are happy to reschedule if he has no time right now
If you allow them to "make you wait" until he's able to get to you could be a sign of things to come...i.e., being seen as "lower" than him/others in that you wait...just a thought
Its only for a 13 week contract Pini, so it doesnt matter. Its not anything permanent. It is quite important that I get something soon.
But the pay is out of this world for Florida.
gotcha...I'd follow kje...I'd make a call and reschedule
you know, for such a wimpy name, Ike did some serious damage... think he had a napoleon complex
Ike really was HUGE.
yes he was red
just what is it that you like about florida, red?
well, on that note, I'd better get ready for work myself...*sigh*...I don't wanna go!!!!
happy babbling all...good luck, red
bye pini - hagd
How many cl words are there?
I have one to go and it's a c word...
there is 1 cl word
1 cl, 6 cr, 9 cu
Morning, all. Wow. This is a quick one for me. Down to 6 after about 20 minutes. Zippity doo!
hello all! Ardilla says hello -- we had a lovely time last night, though I scolded her for coming in so late and leaving so early, I think between the two of us we filled up a day of talking for anyone else (in three hours)
I'll start the grid in a minute... gotta check my emails. brb
!*!FIREWORKS!*!
!!! FIREWORKS ME TOO !!!
Sharidan, were in NC are you located?
Congrats Judi!!
okay, back.
YAY phaeton! YAY Judi!!!!
*dives in to grid*
Hi Stid
Any clues needed before I head out?
st5,10 thats not the plural?
no
There are two st5/10s, ewaugh.
this is going to be a tough one for me. Too many consonants in groups... (yes, just found a good word for that...)
one is the tube used for surgery, and the other is to be strict
i have one that is.. harsh maybe? and then the 6 is its plural..
ok, thank you!
thanks for those ST words! down to 72...
right, the other st5 is the tube for heart surgery
Well, I'm off to slave away at work. See y'all tomorrow.
bye judi
bye judi!
four grey corners (bye judi)
that puts me down to 5 :)
go! ewaugh go!
go ew go!!!!
grey bottom (row) *giggle* and NBT!!!
ok, gotta scoot! Have fun babbling!
bye bye!
hi all!
hey TO!

Ds done!
later ew!
E-limination of Es...
cya stid, keep it up!
WHY can't I see some of these before I go to the list???? *sob*
Fs, and Ls, and Ms... managed.
I am CERTAIN I tried several of these already!
N, O, R removed.
S stabilized down to ONE! and it's a fishy 4
Hi there! jUst on for a few.
not so fishy... but silly.
firewords. (hi monkey -- how's Sam?)
alright, i've decided against the break.. any clues for the second lu6 and lu7? they're my last 2
stid, is ardilla on r &r?
Clue for the top E? I have makes a mistake and ummmm.... er4.
LU 6/7 is english spelling of previous 6 and past tense
He's doing better again, Stid. Thanks for asking! Still veryt tired though.
the E has birds, mistakes and er**while
Yay fireworks Stid!!!!
sorry he's tired, glad he's better. I may slip out to town this afternoon and grab a harmonica...
FIREWORKS!!! thanks stid!!
ardilla is on her way back to duty station after R&R.
YAY ewaugh!
Oh, the BIRDS!!!! Thank you. Slap me with a scrod.

*WHACK* >*)-((((---<<
aren't you glad LBD taught me how to throw fish?
Yay Ewaugh!
haha ok NOW im taking that break, then i'll be back if anyone needs clues. : ) GL All!
Oh... ewwww... yes.
monkey, what does "Dienstverlening" translate to?
later ewaugh1
Exhausting afternoon behind me; we went to teh school Walter will be starting at on Friday to meet his new teacher and see the daycare he'll go to Thursdays after school.
Providing of services.
what does Walter think of the school?
ah. so a sort of catch-all for helpers.
He really likes it, as do I. GREAT place. And teh daycare (on site) turned out to be run by the person who ran his playgroup a year ago, great lady.
Yes, Stid, but you have to get a degree before you can call yourself one.
am I right that it's about supper time back there? 6 pm or so?
Yup. We eat at7, though; husband gets home 6:30.
BRB
I am glad you found such a great combination for Walter. It will make the transition easier.
seems you had a nice visit then.
*sniffs air for hints of supper*
yes, we did TO -- I took a couple pics, haven't checked to see if they turned out. Hold on a few. brb
RB
Yes, it is a great school and he could see that. They sit in groups instead of rows, they have a bit of a learn-at-own-pace lesson style, computers even for the 4-year-olds, etc.
Supper not started yet: doing some sort of Szechuan pork so it'll cook really fast.
wow whereever you are it seems to be a hub of airline activity
well i am marking time before going out to lunch
Walter's new thing though is running off and not stopping. He left the school grounds altogether and went to our trike and I had to yell at him. Then wehn we got home he did it again right across the parking lot here and I had to figure out a punishment so there will be consequences. Unpleasant.
hi, all. quite an easy grid, today
So far it is...
hi angel
must
okay... I am uploading two pics to a webalbum on picasa. Will post the link in my profile in a minute.
hello angelsong
I'm opening an online savings account today.
Stid! you liked my blog post, did you?
oh oh monkey! when my kids started to do that it scared me because it was the beginning of my health issues and I couldn't chase them. Got so I wore long skirts and insisted they hold on to the skirt whenever we were "out and about" the minute they let go I knew it and was still close enough to grab them!
oh, it was excellent angelsong!
oh stid i have to go - i will catch you later, hopefully
That might be a plan.
I have no idea where to submit it, though...
The punishment I came up with (we don't believe in spankings and the like) was that he may not play on the deck this afternoon, and he lost the ball he was carrying for the rest of the day.
TO, link up in my profile.
(see you later)
ah. did it work? my kids generally needed something more closely tied to the actual infractions. But I also insisted that they NOT inconvenience me. LOL
I need one more from the bottom M. I have: mu4x 5, mu5 x 3, mu6 x3
Walter's old enough though to understand consequences in advance (sometimes at least).
mu 7
it's another fish *readies halibut*
make the mu6 plural, monkey
Work? I dunno. Couldn't think of anything tied to running away I could use. He is upset about the ball and deck and says he will not do it again. But he said that earlier too. I may have to threaten to tie him to me in public!
Thanks!
"Have some tea, will finish last 5 words" - hi all !
That, or immediately stop the outing the minute he gets more than ten feet away. I suspect for an active, outdoor kid like him that would take only ONCE and he would get the message.
*faints in shock* montreal??? bon jour!
only "some" tea/
lol stid - how are you ?
hi kathryn - yes just half a cuppa..."sigh"
Once was on the way out of the school to come home and once was on the way to the door from the trike... nothing to cut short. That WOUDL work on more fun outings, except if we're taking the dog-- not fair to her, then. Sigh. But good advice nonetheless.
not too bad montreal, I don't know if you know I started back at college this summer?
at least have a nice cookie with it montreal
yes stid, "heard it thru the grapevines" - but in what, i don't know ?
decided I want to be a teacher, but in the 20 years since I left school they changed the requirements so a year of undergrad stuff to fill the gaps, then two years of a master's (hope I'll get in) and then.... I guess then we see if anyone will hire me!
swore off cookies in '95 kje...
no montreal! beaucoup de tristesse!
no cookies for 13 years????????
can you eat les pommes? WE have some lovely ones on our trees this year!
great stuff stid - i admire your courage ... and know you'll do well !
none kje - some fruits yes...
Can someone clue the top left D? I have the two words related to fender benders...
please ignore the strange capitalizations and typos today. was going to sleep in, but DOG wouldn't let me!
where bears sleep, monkey
brb
How can I not have tried that? Thank you!
later stid
well, I admire the self-discipline, but I'm more of a all things in moderation type gal
OK, got to go start the Szechuan food. Back later for as many of my last 20 as I can get before House.
missing an N - have ne4/5, ne5/12, ne4/4 x2, ne5/10...what is missing ?
ne 5/10 after geeks
see you next time monkey!
that is my general approacj kathryn but i used to abuse cookies and cakes and wanted to quit smoking so there...
bye MG !
approach* even
congrats on quitting smoking!!!! good for you!
tx kje - will look for ne5/10...
*thinking montreal could have put up his passport picture yesterday for "respect for elders" day*
do Quebecquois not smile???
lol stid - but went to the states in august and they let me thru !!!!!!!!!!
stid, we were not allowed to smile NOR wear glasses..."sigh"
that is silly. I smiled for mine... I think the bureaucrats get their jollies from being stupid and mean.
right stid -- those were the rules for our passport photographs... "sigh"
Now wouldn't that be a great icon theme - Your Passport Picture! One that most would not wish to participate in I would guess :) and Hello all
aaahhh - but still a good lokkin' pic montreal ; )
hi FM
finally got the ne5/10 - tx kje
lookin' even
yw
hi FM - and lol - you are so right...
Hey kje and monty and stiddy!!
where is your cookie recipe stid - I bet you make great cookies
well gee tx kathryn "blushing furiously"
the fellow who took my passport pic was really nice. He took several and let me choose which one to use. I guess it was a slow day at the post office.
I don't believe it montreal
*passes fedora so monty can hide his blushes* :)
cookie recipe??? *confused look* I don't bake very often any more...
today's theme stid, fave cookie
I took a slightly different twist on the theme today *grin*
u r right kje, not really blushing but slightly embarassed is all - tx FM - lol
saw it fm - cute
oh. favorite cookies are chocolate chip, of course! or snickerdoodles. I really love snickerdoodles. *tummy growls* I think perhaps I should eat breakfast before I get the nibblies.
FM, i see i'm still (at least my fedora is) in your PB pix even with my rare appearances - thank you dear !
ME LOVE COOKIES! ((((hugs FM)))) back later all! *poof*
bye stid
missing a U - have cow appendage(s) - what else ?
yw, monty and there you will stay along with stiddy, Ata and all the other references! Bye stiddy !
with a K, it is a people group in turkey... persecuted
nice to hear FM...
also in iran
or with a c goes with **** & whey
and iraq I think?
LOL, FM - didn't even think of that - much clearer
Ah your k inspired my c, so there you go :)
sorry not getting your clue FM - and kje, we call those persecuted people in iran, iraq syria and turkey the Kurds...
Darn thre goes the phone just as I am enjoying some quality time
yes, montreal... take the K off!!!
lol FM...
ahhhhhh got it --- without the K...lol tx
LOL - yw
I think montreal really will need his fedora to hide the blushes.
Good morning/afternoon all.
lol hazel...so true in this particular case...
hi haz
It's okay, we forgive you.
Hello kje
thanks hazel and hi !! -------- bottom D - have 1 DR and 7 DUs - missing what ?
*Returns from phone call and 'accidentally' whaps monty with a fish*
another du
Hello Hazerooo!
"ouch"
There are 9 du words.
Howdy doody, FMitch. Counting down the hours?
going in search of food, bbl
Luc how can youhave a DR from the bottom D?
Why have they started up the Cern ring again?
Later kje
have 8, that makes sense hazel... have 4 DU4, 2 DU5 and 2 DU6 - what length am i missing ?
musical instrument FM
Three du5
later kathryn
tx hazel - will look...
There's a du5 that rhymes with German sausage
got it - not a fish... at least i don't think so...
musical instrument FM = musical instrument Esprit
yes I have that, I was just confused that you said it was fromthe bottom D
yes, that was the one hazel even if i found it before your clue - tx anyway
So what bring you here at this unacustomed hour monty?
No problem.
oh it was esprit - hi Jean ! - just need to finish grid early on a non-working day FM...
Haz re yr earlier Q, I was convinced it was today after postie had been and then remembered it wasn't!
:-D
well the musical instrument IS from the bottom D...
No, it's tomorrow, silly.
FINALLY the interview guy called. Nice fellow, I think I got the job if I want it.
Now to decide if I want it in October or January.
See, brain is going already!
hi red - long time no see ! - sounds like great news !
wtg red :)
I am nervous as it is a big hospital with a lot of action and I have been at baby hospital with slowness.
BUt I love Orlando.
yay red !
Well it will add a bit of variety/experience to you and your CV then red
sorry that should ahve been - a bit MORE...
last 2 words are Fs - have fe4 x3, fr4 and fr5 - missing what ?
fe5 - it's a plural
And fe4
fe 4 porb the one after the fe5
tx hazel - slap me with a flounder...please - and firewords !
And, if there's any justic in the world, it'll be the singular and plural of the word.
Well done, montreal!
hi all.. am feeling bad because I didn't realize there was a Lickety link.. and yesterday I asked a million questions about "how many" this and that.. Babblers are such great sports! Didn't finish the grid, four short.. but I could have if I had looked at the bottom of the page, so I guess I paid for my folly. Am at the library as I probably will not have power back until the end of the week.. groan. The "remnant of Ike" turned out to be horrible..
Oh, Aloy! I hope things get better for you soon.
(((Aloy)))
hi Aloy - was Ike "bad" for you and yours ?
Congrats monty *hands flounder on a ceremonial platter*
Being without power is horrible even for a short space of time.
"whispers to FM - has to be a slap..."
thanks.. don't feel like I should complain though because so many are suffering.. we just had limbs down and one of our neighbor's limbs hit the transformer and it exploded.. ergo, no power. Yup, our well doesn't supply water without the pump.. need a generator..
And, in the light of what you've been through, I don't think any babbler will hold anything against you. Stop feeling bad!
Neighbour's limbs being trees, yes?
Otherwise, the picture of the carnage is .... well, let's hope they were branches of trees.
lol, Haz... you made me smile! Yes, a locust tree limb
SUCH a relief!
... Smack ... Oops sorry monty forgot to take the fish off the platter ...
sorry to hear that Aloy...
aaaack, the picture you evoke, Haz! (-:
"double ouch"
limbs flying...whoa...
I know. I'm sorry, Aloy, but at least you can smile about it.
Aloy I am sorry feel free to come to Clermont we have power. Gots to go now, left my wallet at work. lets hope I dont get asked for a license until I get it.
thanks - "taking a bow with a large flourish of my fedora" - always a nice feeling completing a grid without Lickety's... but with a little help from my friends...
Health article in today's paper... laughter is good for your heart ! See, playing Babble is part of my health routine.. (-:
congrats, montreal!!! wtg!!!
later red !
ooh, g luck, red.. take care
tx Aloy - true, Babble is also part of my health routine...
Oh now that is a good one Aloy. Bye red
Absolutely, Aloy, although Babble-butt is the other side of the coin. If only giggles could shift that.
well must go - bye all and take care, especially you (Aloy) - "POOF"
Well perhpas others laugh at our babble butts, so it sort of works in a convoluted way?
lol.. Babble-butt! (getting looks in the library).. why is that woman so happy at the computer?
Bye montreal - good to see you again!
bye, montreal..
Bye monty *waving*
Aloy, keep an eye out for the men in white coats. And duck if you see one with a tranquilizer gun.
bye (hazel) (Aloy) (FM) - enjoyed my short stay - "ACTUAL POOF"
will do, Haz.. (lowering head now)
I keep a lookout at all times for the men in white coats. That's why I'm still here and not carried off yet.
Good for you Aloy. Nobody will take the slightest notice of a woman laughing with her head down.
LOL
shoulders shaking though.. what to do?
Pretend you're having a coughing fit.
There is no hope for you Aloy - just laugh and feel those good things happening (before you get thrown out)!
whips out tissues.. yes! good idea!
But don't let them think you're having a fit or the ambulance people will come.
glances over to front desk.. ah good, she is busy..
but not on the phone, phew
Well, sadly I'll have to leave FMitch to dispense words of wisdom - I'll have to get some food ready for the hungry hordes.
Probably just as well is a quick grid today then :)
Does one husband constitute a horde?
bye Haz.. see you next grid.. have a great day!
Awe, sigh, nice to see you anyway Haz :)
Anyway, must dash and turn into the Domestic Goddess. Bye!
He is a man of stature Haz
You mean he's HUGE!

Hi FM :)
Olives :)))
cu5/16 anyone?
smoove, pl the one before..
pl of the cu4
LOL Im eating them now FM, there wont be any left for my Greek salad at this rate
I'm missing that one as well....:)
The edge of bread smoove
or pastry?
Little Miss Muffet meal
Thanks...I thought I had put those in already...
Greek salad mmmmm, I making warm chicken and bacon salad
ooh, FM... that sounds super!
Oh that sounds good FM, can you put a plate up for me please
Aloy so you know when you power will be back on?
no, FM.. "The end of the week" was the best guestimate I could get..
Sure (re food) got plenty. cooked a couple of chicken breasts earlier and most will get chopped up and put in the freezer to go with home made chicken stock/soup and other dishes.
I wanted to ask if all our babble buddies got through the storms in the USA
well, I have a good excuse to go out to eat bc I don't want to shop for any food.. in fact, am headed out to buy ice when I finish here
Pfff Aloy, it's only when something is not there when you realise HOW much you need it. Our water supply was cut for 2 days last year and that really made me think. No loo, bath, cooking, all water had to be carried in!
i know, FM... I am taking buckets of water out of the jacuzzi to flush the toilets
loool Aloy @ the jacuzzi - what a great line!
LOL
nice to have a supply of water handy, FM.. (-:
Oh cait re yr email it's the 27th that Haz Ata and I are meeting up

Hello peri

FM, you really must behave yourself, lol
Are you meeting in London FM
Why Aloy? ;)

ok, forget that suggestion.. just have a ball!!!
Yes cait - a bit daunting as I haven't been up there for quite a few years and it is so expensive just to get into town. Oh yes - def will take pics
how far do you live from London, FM?
I am so tempted to get the train up, but I dont think it would be practical
may I have a clue for the du 4,7 please?
About an hour on the train peri, I would drive but parking is extortionate
hi, Jade think of the candy, Milk Du**
start with bottom corner D jade
du4/7 think of a firework that doesn't go off
Oh we have those candies over here too
speaking of fireworks... (-: time to go buy some ice.. thanks for cheering me up, FM! see you all tomorrow. byeeeeee

is Stid still here?
dont know angel
my daughter is 4 weeks, 3 days from delivery of the baby.
oh getting excited ?
she's certain she's going to be pregnant forever.
I remember the feeling! went past due with my son
Iasked the Gyno if he could stick an eviction notice up there!
Doc told me to pack my bags mid-December--my daughter was born Jan. 12!
mine were winter babes too
son was Jan 5th
close to Xmas, eh?
think they dont want to come out into the cold
LOL!
they told me I was due xmas eve
wow . . .
2 weeks either way is considered normal however
if he had come X mas or xmas eve I would have felt obligated to name him Nicholas
:-D
my dad's bday was Dec. 26 and it really sucked . . .
got ripped off on gifties?
mine's Dec. 29 and I was always jealous of the kids who had bday's during the school year and their moms brought cupcakes for the class!
hello all
hi sadie
yep, I remember Daddy gifts were "Merry Xmas and Happy Birthday!"
hey, sadie :-)
*Daddy's
hiya pugmama
Hello. I was reading the chat... my dad's bday is 12/24 and mine is 12/28
hiya Uneaixoise :)
my kids got in under the wire on both side of winter vaca but I've known people like you & it does suck when you're a kid
lots of Capricorns among the Babblers!
so it seems
goats are cool very determined & level headed
and stubborn
well. yea that too
hmmm, I'm definitely stubborn and determined but don't know about level headed! :-)
LOL!
my mom says I came out of the womb saying Thanks but I'll do it myself!
of course it depends what else you've got in your chart but in general they are
although strangely they seem to start out old & enjoy their childhood later in life
really?! that is sooo true of moi!
they seem unable to enjoy being caefree untill they are sure they've gained enough security
that's amazingly on the money . . . jeez . . .
wow! I feel like you are talking directly about me...
there is much truth in astrology .THE REAL KIND, not the bull jive in the daily news
bet your piggy bank burst open from over stuffing before you ever broke into it as a kid.....
kind of... I asked my mom at 5 to open a bank account for me. I didn't touch it until I was 21.
yep . . . always pretty frugal . . . (but I loved counting it . . . and smelling it!)
there's a typical cappy for you!
but I love love love giving gifts and choosing just the right one . . . consider myself to be rather generous . . . does that fit?
like i said it's all about security, the driving force of the Capricorn mind
yep, not a big risk taker! LOL
oh yes with folks you love and/or feel truly deserve it absolutely
this is a little scary...
I don't find it scary as it helps one to understand what motivates people in your life if you learn a bit about it
Does waiting until your 28 to get married count as waiting for security
well hard to say on an individual basis but Cappys do tend to marry later than most
they want to be sure they are well established in their own right first it seems
the idea of being dependent is abhorent to most of them
they also seem to place less value on things that come to them too easily.Including relationships.
will shut up now as I've bored the chog to sleep...
well, relationships don't come easy for me.... but I do agree with the other part
Not at all.
More like pondering...
exactly my point they do not believe in just falling into a romance. they believe everything worthwhile must be gained through hard work
your point made: my motto is anything worth having is worth fighting for
and not held in real value if it just "falls in your lap"
YUP
nature of the beast
Awww, should i be upset that I am predictable
silly ! jsut have known lots of cappys rather intimately
Or not unique
we are ALL unique
;D
my 2 sisters & I are all Leos but very different
I'm a Leo too... 8 )
it's more about your subconciouse motivations
hi East!
I'm a Libra
hello...
often wondered if the parents only "did it"" on their anniversary or if Mom only came into heat once a year as all our Bdays are within 2 weeks
wow lol
oh my! rofl
well it does seem more than coincidental....
pug, that's hilarious!!
lol pug
and the anniversary was just about 9 months prior so it makes sense

hey all.
In case anyone's been wondering as to my whereabouts over the last week, I've been on holiday with my folks in Cornwall
hey movieman. Lovely part of the country
I agree bf. Visited the Eden Project while I was there, and the Tropical Biome doesn't half make you sweat buckets
the furthest south west i have been is Devon, but I have been up the other end a lot!
Afternoon all. I need to really work on this.
SOunds Like a fun trip Movie man. Is the tropical biome sort of a tropical gardeny thing of sorts?
Yes it is turtle, there are all sorts of tropical plants and trees growing in it, such as fruiting banana trees, coffee, rubber and giant bamboo
neat! I have giant bamboo in my yard, its very hard to conquer once it gets started. do they have birds too?
hey everybody
hi Jacq
Yep, I saw plenty of them, especially robins (the Eurasian variety)
hey red
I feel like an old old lady, but I do like bird watching. We have some neat ones in Florida., which is like a tropical biome.
The Eden Project was also used as a filming location for the James Bond film 'Die Another Day'
I think I might have seen part of that one. I am not the best movie watching
watcher oops.
jacq how are you?
m
i'm good thanks, am at mum's showing her babble, but i haven't warned her how addictive it is lol
am logging off here and will log on at home in about an hour
hi jacq's Mom....its a addictive game indeed.

good point....i picked it a long time ago before this site was at all popular and now i'm stuck with it
well i figured you'd have to have a sense of humor about it or why choose it at all?
I finished (for once) way early because , of the power outagaes and state of emergency here in Oh, schools have been closed and I had no litttle ones to care for.
Good thinking pug lol
is it the flooding stuff MaMa?
ty . bye all. good luck
true...i figure, if it's good enough for an auto racing legend to walk around with as his actual name, i can handle it on some game site
bye dor
No flooding , but 75 mile and hour hurricane winds from Ike on sunday
my daughter likes to make jokes like whats up with me and uncles ? I grew up with an uncle Woody, now I have an uncle Dick!

I want ocusins in Louisiana!!!!

hi dc
hi, pug and pam and monkey and leeanne
it's like autumnally cool this evening, which is bizarre for September
ok...i'd like to say something without being political, since it could be an alaskan slang/accent, but palin doesn't say yes, she says ya...a lot?
hi dc!
greetings, nutty!
ya you betcha! like those folks in North Dakota and in Canada eh?
hiya dc buddy
*steps in in defense of Canada*
'yep' and 'ayep' were common in the dialect i grew up with.
when Sarah Palin talks, she reminds me of "Dr. G" who is a medical examiner and has a reality show on TV
i was just thinking i want my candidate to say yes is all
my family in Cleveland, OH say 'ya' a lot.
she was born in Idaho, moved to Alaska...
in maine my grand parents said "ayuh"
i love that accent, Uniquity... please don't take offense
she was very young when they moved there, though, no?
It is autumnally cool here, too, dcs
i know people in georgia who say 'why-ya-yes'
that's all, it just disappoints me to hear that in a high ranking politician
well, yes, but it never gets warm in New England
i can't remember how old she was, dcs... I have so much of her bio crammed into my small brain
Unfortunately, 'Canadian' accents can't be generalized...it's different by county, let alone province :)
LOLOLOL, dcs, it can get warm...
in my neck of the woods (Norfolk VA), black people say "AW ITE" for all right
Nut - I want my candidates (for the Canadian election, obviously) to STOP creating horrible ads which just say smack about the other guy, instead of promoting themself.
we say that here monkey...and i be white
that rapper Missy Elliott is from this area, and i think she started that whole AW ITE thing
rock on, sistah nutt
i love missy elliot!
Ok I am back from fruit fest.
Hi Pam, Hi DC..
DC I have been subbed to a hospital in Fairfax....
i don't hink thats regional so much as an "ebonics " thing
fruit fest? what is that? (I could make a rude joke here)
redturtle, Fairfax Hospital? that's near my parents
hi, red!!!!
Fairfax Hospital, perchance?
I ate a peach and some raspberries, guess it isnt a real fest.
aw monkey...
Its inova Fair Oaks in Fairfax.
But I interviewed at FL hosptal today too....
lol monkey if met was paying attention he'd never have let that one slide!
LOL pug, i was just thinking that :)
that's where Tom works, red, he's in ICU there.
it's a fabulous facility
grand piano in the lobby and all
lots of crazy bad traffic there, red!
what's this i hear that McCain claims to have inventd the Blackberry ???
with gas prices, monkey, it's a bit better than it was.
I might still end up there....FL hospital is soooo scary to me.
Sarah Palin looks exactly like TIna fey. i keep expecting them to announce she isnt real and is tina fey palying a part.
i vote that mccain is getting senile.
ha ha ha monkey, that's funny
LOL red
did you see Saturday Night Live, red???
hey all...everyone done yet?
nut, i'm serious... it's on the news right now
finished at flip HI PINI!
i have 16 to go, pini, welcome
i finished, thanks to clues from pug
I missed it....I can never stay up that late.
omg...dems should do to him what reps did to gore!
Did you see the Saturday Night Live sketch where Fey played Palin?
i did, Bzzn, it was HYSTERICAL
it's all over you tube, and the 'net, red...
I've got 4 more to finish
go pinikula!
I should look.
go pini go!
If you missed it, you can go the NBCs website and find it under SNL.
i just noticed tonight, that you name isn't PINKula, it's PINIKula
how did you come up with that screen name Pini?
Bzzn! SNICKERDOODLES!!!!!! YUM
yeah...too bad huh monkey...we coulda called her count pinkula
that's ok...lil*...I'm used to it ;)
Nut, you could be Count Nutula
I made some yesterday.
that just sounds dirty monkey
i always make Snickerdoodles for Xmas
Pug, it's a combination of two screen names (one was mine: Pink Lady; the other was a good friend who passed: Bunnicula - several chat friends incorporated his nickname into ours and this is what I came up with.) A pink vampire bunny!
would you prefer, Count NUTS-ula?
i will be Countess Monkula
i prefer nutty buddy...makes me think of ice cream
pini, were you pink lady on here?
ny kids loved that book!
Not on here...I haven't used that name in almost 20 years (gads that sounds rather "dating")
pug, you should show them www.makingfiends.com
I have LU 4-5-4-6-6-5. What am I missing?
whats that?
Pini, do you pronounce your nickname Pinny or Peeny
nutty buddys were a fav of mine from the ice cream man
Pinny
Bzzn you are missing a 6 and a 7
TY
lu 6-7
spell the glossy word another way, then past tense it
hey, this should be the product of the year http://urlPass.com/3spv
that was for you Bzzn

*ancients of mu-mu ancients of mu-mu*
missing an R (bottom middle column) and S (upper righthand corner)
can i have some of those psychedelics you're on, dc?

rhymes with oppostie of dawn, pini
I think that's it, dc...but don't get the clue... :(

So how have you been, TO?
Hey Babble Family !!
hi, aussie and woulf and TO, and all
Hello Aussie and pam
Hey Pam-I-Am !!
hi pam! hi aussie!
Hey Woulf !!
Hey TO !!
and btw..... F*I*R*E*W*O*R*K*S !!!!!
i', well woullf and you? how is your MIL?
I am fine, if a bit tired right now -- Mom in law is doing well -- she came home yesterday and looks fine.
congrats aussie and all finishers
great, woulf!
They put two stents in place and she feels worlds better
Woulf, whats wrong with Mom In Law ?
yay aussie!
Yayyy for Aussie
fankoomuch guys..... was here on and off today, didnt chat, wanted to wait till I had finished to do so...
Aussie -- she went to the ER Thursday night with what she thought was gall bladder pain.... it turned out she actually had a heart attack, thankfully it was a minor one
Oh my Woulf..... **Woulfs Mom In Law on my prayer list for good recovery**
Woulf, just curious.... does your nic come from CubScouts GreyWoulf ??
In addition to the impact on her, we have been a bit crazed in my household as well because she has been the primary transportation to get Kristianna to and from school
No, though I did participate in the organization -- it came from my circle of friends that I met during my college years
are you lansdale or north wales? a friend of mine is principal of newest elementary sholl but i cannot emember the school name. the body has gone the ind is following closely :/
Oh Woulf.... I know how that one goes.... My Mom-In-Law was the primary carer for our little girl as we worked the same shift in the same job, she got sick last year, and now me and my Hubby work different shifts, he works 5am-1pm, I work 2pm to midnight...
Ah, I see about the nic...
We all represent various aspects of metaphysical thought and study -- at that time, I was strongly drawn to Native American studies and I identified with Wolf as my primary totem guide
To - Lansdale -- she is going to Knapp, principal is Mr Mazza
and woulf - have you watched "fringe" yet and if so do you like it?
not same then, ty. must call marianne soon, it's been a while.
I haven't caught Fringe yet, but I do have the DVR set to record the series so I don't miss any -- I will let you know after I get the chance to view it
Very cool, woulf. I have always identified with the aspects of my astrological sign, Scorpio....phoenix, scorpion
I am watching it... it's a little loose, TO, do you like it?
Aussie -- the biggest impact in taking over the transport responsibilities is that she has to get to school an hour after I am supposed to be at work and I have the only car... we are too close to the school for her to ride the bus
But at least I have now registered her for the schools before hours program so I will be able to drop her off for two hours of activities plus breakfast on my way into work
Oh Woulf..... our biggest impact is that we only see each other for 20 minutes a day, and 2 whole days in 3 weeks....
then the only time I will lose time from work will be getting her home again
That is a solution Woulf.....
i missed episode #2 tonight. i don't know, pam. i would rather see david duchovny clothed than a girl in her undies. ;) sad about him though
Oh, htat's good, woulf....
i missed episode #2 tonight. i don't know, pam.
Ah, not so good with the losing time from work....
hello
wever, must mu4 run, favorite show coming on - the shiled, final season. see you all tomorrow!
I feel bad for him, too, TO...
MY FIRST FIREWORKS!!!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DAVID DUCHOVNY WHERE?
ciao, TO
yay, repart!
Aussie -- you have my deepest regards and empathy for doing that -- when Kirsten was working she was on graveyard shift vs my days -- the overlaps weren't as extreme for you but I understand
hi, harp
YAY !!!!! C*O*N*G*R*A*T*U*L*A*T*I*O*N*S reparteena !!!!!!!!!!
CALM DOWN JANE LOL
Yayyyyy for Reparteena!!!!!!!!
Grey, haven't seen you for ages, how the heck are you?
are your kids in college yet?
Thank You!
ok really going and yay for reparteena *poof*
good for you repart
Thanks everyone...& here's to many more!
good evening; does anyone want a clue?
We have been doing this since March, and it has been hell on wheels..... We have basically spent almost every day together since we got together 14 years ago, and now we see each other for 2 days in 3 weeks, it is damn hard, which is why I babble so much.....
not me Phan, I am done !
LOL, harp -- Kristianna is just starting kindergarten this year... unfortunately it is only a half day class, and not even a full half day at that -- I don't understand why kindergarteners should only have to be in class for two hours and fourty minutes
That is another reason why I am glad to get Kristianna into the before school program... since it has guided activities it will be a more educational experience from my perspective
i know, most kindergartners i know are better than I am at computers!
Woulf, my little girl goes to a day nursery (childcare school) for 5 hours a week, which is one half-day... 1pm till 6pm on a friday....
Unfortunately, she won't be able to start the program until Oct 1st -- until then we will muddle througth as best we can
Gives my Hubby a chance to catch up on things when I am at work....
parents become chauffeurs and they need a computer programmer to figure out their schedules!
what happened to duchovny?
ok, really mu4 go now.... Hubby is due to wake in just over an hour, so I beter get me some shut-eye !! Sweet dreams, and I am off to find my pillows.... **poof**
he is in rehab, woulf. for sex addiction
Farewell, Aussie and {**hugs**}
When did that happen, pam?
**comes back into room to place chocolate kisses on table and hugs all round, and then really poofs**
ciao, aussie
sex addiction is pretty serious but he's smart and will get through it i'm sure
i hope so, harp. for his sake and his family's sake
it needs to be approached like any other 12 step program, plus you have to listen to lame jokes about it all the time!
too true, harp
western society views it a bit like they viewed rape in the 50's and 60's; very little awareness and assuming it's not a very big problem
F*I*R*E*W*O*R*K*S
yay met!
yay, met
Hi, all - I was lurking so I could finish tonight.
Any addiction is a curse -- I think the biggest problem that modern society has is accepting that there are as many diverse forms of addiction as there are people
Yayyy for MetFan
Thanks , jane and Woulf!
our culture tends to throw a "taboo" label on anything to do with s-e-x
And you, Pam!
Now that I've done, I'm off to watch "The Shield". Congrats to all who finished, and good luck to all still at it. See you tomorrow. ***POOF***
ciao, met
Taboo has come to be used to describe anything which has a provocative nature
WOULFIE!!!
Yet there was once a time sometime would be deemed taboo because it contained information that needed to be disseminated to a select few
lbd!!!!!
indeed, woulf
oops - something not sometime
POUNCE
hi herin
Hi
oof!! Hi lady!
deep topic!
How are you all?
herin
doing well here, herin. how about you?
howdy
as deep as you want it to be, lbd
it's good to read such serious discussion
Btw, pam -- my secondary totem creature that I identify with strongly is Coyote -- one of the key aspects they have in common is that they are both teachers
serious is necessary to highlight the humor which abounds in the world
recovering. One should not drink a litre of juice
so true, woulf
what kind of juice, lady? and in what time frame was it consumed?
and was there something in there other than juice?
Which actually defines part of the differences between Wolf and Coyote in their teaching techniques, lbd
Wolf is the guide and pathfinder, serious and silent in showing the way
ah, yes, Coyote the trickster
No just juice.
Coyote is a trickster who teaches by the fact that he doesn't always learn from his mistakes
Grey i did a meditation thingie the other day and my guide was a big black cat and when i got to the tribal fire Wolf appeared and I got a licking it was AWESOME.
I learned much from Castanades books regarding Indian/Mexican lore.
Very cool, lady
It was and were did pam go?
There is a man by the name of Scott Alexander King and he is awesome
lbd -- I have to admit that my readings on the topic have been haphazard and eclectic in base... I learn more from discussion with others than reading... however, Casteneda is on my list to read
you sound very invigorated by the experience, herin
Woulf, he's an interesting author. Metaphysical if you want, or sci/fi.
http://www.animaldreaming.com/ This is him and Grey when he was reading me i was reading him it was awesome. I went to a free seminar and i started writing down words that came to me about him and then told him about it after. Also on the day i had fox magic happening and he picked it up
I know of him, lbd -- one of my coworkers when I used to work for the bookstore was very into him, and so I have heard a few of his concepts
LBD yes it has helped change things
that's good to hear, herin.
Oh im also having a secret competition between me and a friend. He doesn't know but he is doing for the millionth time the Body for life challenge. I am going to do my own thing and see what the results are between us in 12 weeks. His program is full of faults and crap
Sounds like a fabulous experience, lady -- I am still waiting to encounter someone who impacts me in that manner
{{{{{GW}}}}} I was in Philly two weeks ago!!
Grey do you have Mind Body Spirit festivels?
this is turning into one of those annoying grids where I get started on a letter and zip through finding all the words attached to it except one!
Hi Judy
hi judy!
Greetings herein and lbd
Agreed Grey
down to last word; only the second grid I've done without a list
{{**Judy**}} -- and I didn't know! I have got to get back on the computer more often than I have been
GW, I asked about you. Had dinner with Peri and TO.
I was on Friday morning and Peri mentioned that you three had gotten together
so much fun to finally meet the people you chat and babble with
Judy i have met Rose and hopefully Rolin and Lynxx
I still want to organize the MidAtlantic Babblers convention... unfortunately I don't have the time energy or money to do it yet
good for you herein. I also met Stidmama when I was out in Seattle last year
GW, sounds like a great idea!
Grey do you have any festivals that are mind body spirit based?
Love to met Stid
Peri, TO and I are still planning to get together again sometime in the King of Prussia area.
There is so many babblers i would love to met that are OS
Stid is a great lady, herein. She and her family gave me a mini tour of Seattle.
I am sure there are some in the area, lady -- it is more having the time and energy visit them
FIREWORKS!!!! And didn't use a list!!! WOOHOO
We are lucky that I think twice a year we have a festival
Yah Judy.
Grey your area looks so pretty
GREY: Here this may help you
http://www.broomcloset.org/res.html
I think my biggest problem at times, lady, is that I am actually very skeptical of most of the people I meet in the field
whooooo hoooooo JUDY!!
Too many of them come across as grifters, especially the socalled speakers to the dead who spend most of their time asking broad questions until they get a hit
and Yayyyy for Judy!!!!
Oh yes Grey that is so true. That link i posted has stores in your area.
Thank you lady -- I just bookmarked if for later -- Kirsten is definitely interested as she is a practicing Wiccan High Priestess
OH COOL Grey. There is a guy here Jason McDonald and he is a spirit medium. He got everything right when i asked him an open question 'Why did he have to die'' and he described precisely what happened and told me to enjoy christmas there was so many things said that there was no way he could have known and No he didn;t do the is there a person here that lost someone starting with B crap
The other problem I have with most of the other pagans I have encountered is that too many tend to be a bit too arrogant regarding their specific path -- they have lost sight of the fact that in a religiophilosophy that embraces the uberpantheistic view that all mythological figures are legitimate foci for power demands that we have tolerant for our other pathwalkers
Well said Grey.
That would have read better if I had actually typed tolerance instead of tolerant 8-D
I understand. I also think and feel that what ever your religious belief is like a painting we all see it different
So who isn't finished yet? I have 31 to go here
Me i have 59 left and much more likeing our chat
well, well, well - look who's here!
Hi mom!!
hi woulf - hi all
alas, my friends, it's time for me to find my pillows. Woulfie, it was great to see you. hope you can come back more often.
I agree, lady -- I have had many a night where I have lost the grid because of the conversation
Hoot Hi. You have raised a wonderful son and a man that is a wonderful husband and father
Night LB
lbd -- I plan to do better from now on.... I have learned not to make more specific promises than that
It has been great to see you as well {{**Hugs**}} and sleep well
*poof*
Thank you! Was reading back
How about once a week?
*blushes quietly in the corner*
And yes, I did call. She sounded good!
Had to be said Hoot.
thank you again - anyone need clues?
I am hoping for more often than that, hoot -- I have decided that even if I don't look for words, I need to stay in touch with everyone
yep
I am getting ready to hit the list before I ask for clues -- I prefer to keep my fish to myself ;-)
not so many fish - but plural words you wouldn't ordinarily and also double consonants where you don't expect them
I have just decided to turn the channel over and ignore the fact i need to vacuum
That's a good idea, lady -- after all, nature abhors a vacuum
that is one chore I don't have to worry about. Clint does it!
And NOW we don't have rugs in this place! But he's a lousy sweeper!
Well i would vacuum but ours is broken and i can't borrow one. Damn it need to brush up stuff
try tape - easier
Actually, I do it here as well, and boy does Buddy love to help --- I got the kids a toy vacuum for Xmas and he won't ever let Kristianna touch it when I am vacuuming for real
Oh that is sweet Grey have you seen Featherbees blog
Have you taught him the trick of sweeping into a pile and then vacuuming it up with the hose?
and I'm havinr no luck with a tea set for Kris:(
Hadn't thought of that! Typical man...doesn't go under things or do corners!
Don't worry about it, hoot -- we got a plastic set for her birthday so another set would be overly redundant at this time
I need a nosh!brb
Where did you find it!
lady -- I wish I had more hours in the day so I could keep up with everyones blog
Toys R Us
The only flaw in its design is that the teapot has an oval shape so the lid always falls inside of it
figures. It's so far away I didn't even think of it!
OH I still have my china tea pot set as a kid
Clue for du4/6 --- the first one? And also need clues for du5/14, please.
Grey ill find the pic in question
du4/6 is du+double consinant
Thanks, hootowl!
I can't type worth a dam
yw
hows the weather by you, hoot
the 5 uses first 3 letters of 4 + 2 more consonants
We finally have dropped into comfortable temps again
Was a high of 74 today. Best it's been in weeks!
similar here -- we finally got to turn off the AC here because the humidity dropped along with the temps
Ike dribbled on us but wind broe a lot of small branches. Been picking them up for past 3 days
Nuts. Humidy was in 60's! And that was deliberate!
GRey: this is Feathers littleone
http://tinyurl.com/6mz38o
Yep... that is Sebastian... at least until he decides it is time for him to use the big one
I had to share its so awesomely cute and im sick to death of oh its girllie and pink
I also am strongly against the whole idea of gender coding various activities -- if the kids are having fun, that is all that matters -- it can only make them better people in the long run
Grey you would be livid at the stupidity of this website aimed at girls
Firewords!!!
Yah Grey
showoff! Told ya it wasn't that bad
Grey this is the media press release of the site:The age of feminism was great, but encouraged women to be like men. a new online gift store for girls aims to reverse the negativity of feminism and say to women, hey, it’s great to be independent, but remember to stay girly.
It did NOT encourage them to be like men! It allowed them to be themselves!
And women still get paid less for the same jobs and usually have more work too
You're right -- it wasn't as bad as it could have been
Yes indeed Hoot and you are right women get about 30c less than a man
They get as little as they can get away with.
For every $1.00 earned by a man, the average woman receives only 77 cents, while African American women only get 67 cents and Latinas receive only 57 cents.
I Have met some of these men-women. They are not well-liked and usually not even by themselves
But you gotta have dinner on the table at 6pm or else! Jealosy is a terrible thing.
I am off the school if you don't like it do it your self and if that doesn't suit you don't let the door hit your arse on the way out
amen!
While separation of roles is a nice thing -- there is nothing in todays society which dictates which role any person should take on
well that's true in print...but not in actuality. Very few men brave enought to hire truly skilled women
And don't start me on Toys are us or target with the Pink isle is girls and the blue isle is boys. I played with toy guns as a kid and climbed trees and all that
Do what you are best at, learn from and acknowledge those who are better than you, and guide and nurture those who know less
The hardest part of the entire process is to let your ego go and admit to your own limitations
You sound like me! I was always playing with the boys. So I played boy games. When we were in Brooklyn we played lots of games and I honestly can't remember anything that gender specific except dolls.
I was the one at 6 that would put Barbies head on kens body and cross dress them
And while teaching others to release their ego seems like a good thing, ultimately it can never happen on a societal level -- without ego there can be no competition, and without the conflict of competition there can be no advancement
LOL lady
Same when we moved to the island. I can't remember when they started separating our toys.
I did go that far!hahahahah
didn't
stop preaching woulf
What i did. THat and when i was really small i used to eat barbies feet
good grief!
don't worry -- the soapbox is getting a bit wobbly -- I have to remember when chewing the scenery, I need to leave my pulpit intact! 8-D
Couldn't you get a real binky?
Well I needed a good laugh.Clints working nights and I'm all alone!
I have a chewing on things thing happening
Bet you have a strong jaw too
Are you finished with babble herin?
I noticed that the log was a bit quiet, so I just checked -- I wonder how many of the 76 people listed as online are really here?
nope haven't finished and yes i do tend to open bottles with teeth
funny - I never log out but when I check I'm not there
ouch!
You are braver person than me, lady -- I have never even considered that feat
Not even with a cork
More fun gnawing open a pop top beer bottle. No im talking screw top bottles
double ouch
depends on my mood
doesn't everything?
I was the bitter as a child. I got suspended for biting a girl in grade six. I bit through 3 layers and drew blood. I don't let go. bit like a pit bull
omg!
Not an image I would associate with you, lady.... you're dangerous!
;-D
Nowadays they'd test you for rabies and lock you up!
Yes. Scorpio sign
arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggh! That explains it!
Yep.
wonder if that would be assault with a weapon or just assault with intent
No - my ex - woulfs father - is a scorpio
We dont have rabies here but the girl had to have a tetnus shoot
OK - it has been great, but I need to get to bed -- I have a crazy week to finish here... At least I found someone who can take Kristianna to school in the am. so I just have to get her home from school
We dont have rabies here but the girl had to have a tetnus shot

Hey I have the best plan of sabotage for a friend that is being an idiot
what's that?
It has been great ok
Ok he is doing this stupid Body for LIfe thing which is eat processed bars and stuff. Were as im going to do my normal excersise and stuff and see who losses more and looks better. Might we add he always puts back the weight
Those bars have more fat & sugar than real food. I'll bet you beat him!
of course he does... he isn't learning to eat healthy and change his lifestyle... but he likely will lose more than you, he is a man
They'll also screw up his digestive tract.
in general, men lose faster due to higher muscle mass in general
But herin will always look better
indeed she will - and will be healthier in the long run
dam - being sucked in again - I'll be back at flip
plus, she has killer hair!
yup
Don't I know it. I have frizz
LOL
I have very fine, but wavy hair
Thanks.
BLush

I have italian frizz curls
hey gorgeous! see you later, I am falling asleep -
ok - I'm going! bye
mine is curly when humid and wavy when not
Hoot that is what olive oil is for.
back after flip
looks like its been an exciting evening
hey, peeps
why, dan, because it's been quiet for >20 minutes? :)
or did I miss stuff earlier?
just the quiet for a while, too many teeny grids in a row
no, this is the smallest one in a while
I don't consider anything over 100 as teeny :)
wasn't there an 80 or 90 in the last few days
not that I recall
I've got to completely give up trying any grids over 200, anyway. it takes too much time, and I get too frustrated if I can't finish
I almost didn't finish this one - of course, I slept all morning, and was gone all afternoon, until after 7pm (same time zone as Babble)
and there's another game site I go to, and need to play enough to earn at least 500 points per day there
there has been a string of grids mostly between 100 & 200
when today's pts register, i'll pass 500,000 pts; but last few haven't felt that much of a challenge
how long have you been babbling?
few months, since the last bogglish site disappeared
then you're doing very well
I need to change my profile back to what it was before the big political brouhaha. Later.
hi all
What big political brouhaha Tyger?
sleepy chat
she was branded repub though indep; so posted voting record
morning all......waiting sor the flip
there are a few extremes from bothe sides that sometimes go a bit too far in otherwise civil but stimulating conversations
Oh. I'm an independent also, but I am also a conservative. Therefore most people think I'm Republican. Goes with the territory.
guessing we have a big one
272
both parties have strayed quite a bit from their roots
Wow. Fireworks. Signed on 35 minutes ago with 51 words to find. Woo Hoo.
