there are many "normal" words, yogo...just keep looking for them ;)
night kaz
oh, crud. I'm back. I was hoping for a *small* grid! :(
hello, everybody!
hello
hi everyone!
da 7
it's smaller than the last 3 days, tyger
hi melon
Hi Melon! good to see you
Hi Autumn
pini - we had 201 words for 4 days straight, and 203 the day before that
I'm TIRED. I'm not getting anything else done
sorry to be so grouchy, all
then we're doing better with this one, tyger...it's a tad smaller? ;)
hi, lynxx. I'm up for a change - hard to sleep when I can't breathe through my nose - all that and laryngitis.
awwww, melon, hope you feel better soon
sa7 if not called
melon, it's a very old-fashioned thing to do, but have you tried Vicks Vaporub over your sinuses before bed?
melon - go for sushi and use the wasabi!
it will un-clog them, and make it much easier to breathe
ahh, got the pi8/9 - wacky
NBT
not everybody can tolerate "hot" foods, moon
nice job, jilli
the my8 is a weird one, but there's only so many ways you can come out of that corner
good idea! too bad this is cleveland - no sushi at this hour! & I don't think I have wasabi. Then again I have gefilte fish & horeseradish - close enough?
very, very good, jilli
Peppermint Patties will clear sinuses, too...and they taste goo!!!
er...good
going better got 19
well, peeps, I'm going to Lickety, to see whether I'm going to try to do this grid or not
don't think so, melon. do you have any brandy? how about a hot buttered rum?
nytol
nyquil?
ohh, yes have rum - will have before bad - I can't drink & babble!
horseradish sauce can work, too ... if it's strong enough! ;)
wtg yogo!
that was the remedy when I was a kid - open a jar of horseradish and inhale deeply.
Vicks VapoRub!!!!
hey FG!
hey Pini!
melon --- have you tried steam? Boil water, put a towel over your head, lean over the boiling water...
what does that mean pin
I've done the VapoRub - thanks for reminding me. I even have puffs tissues w/vaporub smell - oddly helpful.
still have 3 bt's *sigh*
wtg = way to go!
yes, jilli, It works for a while. wow, all this help - it's like having a mom!
oh thanks
put into a standard 8 ounce mug - in this order - shot of rum (prefer dark), rounded teaspoon of sugar, teaspoon of butter, boiling water. Stir. Drink while hot.
yeah, that's what I should do - make a licorice tea, spead on the Vaop rub & curl up in my mom's mink.
and the rum
again, it's the steam that helps, and with the rum, well, it's more fun
*sneaking out for a ciggie and a peek at the hammacher schlemmer catalogue*
you would not believe how many words i've added Y to just for the heck of - and they've turned out to be real words! funn-y ;)
tsk tsk autumn (ciggie)

Yogo....this may help to get you started: Open --Lickety's Babble Clues -- (found at the bottom of this page) in another window. Next, copy the words you've found (under Babble - My Word List) and paste them in the large box at the bottom of the Lickety's List (Bulk Add). Press Add and your found words will be placed in their appropriate places on the list. Then you simply try and find the words that are still missing. Update your Lickety's List by repeating the copy / paste / Bulk Add.

Looks like that last one from the bottom will be today's stickler word.
Looking
found it
lower ma 4 4 6 5 4 4 5 7
add the obvious stoopid extension to the last 5 to come up with a dumber word
ta
the adverbial suffix
Aha!!! What a dumb looking word! Thanks!
I'm just gonna' try adding it to everything...... :p
Hello, herein
da 7
Are you being adverbsarial this morn BR? :D
as you wish?
Hi again Babble and thanks for that
So you CAN add that to everything..... :)
Ah dang, zenly doesn't work!
What about that bottom middle T? Have tr x 2, and tw x4.
extend the fo 4 (a car or crossing) with a vowel for the 5 and extend again with the abbr for Omaha's state for a 7
Which State is Obama's?
NM, got it, thanks!
the first 3 of the car or crossing and the past of go for another 7
there's a ys from that t
Illinois
*ts even
Really? Illinois? Then there mustbe two fo's with that start... looking...
Thanks, lori!
Unless of course i have no idea what the abbrev. for Illinois is...
there are 2 fo 7s
Is there no list?
Oooh, now that fo 7/56 I didn't have. Thanks BR
Well, the one i have now is the 5 you just clued plus the last two from a do4. Is that the one clued?
Haven't looked yet, Herin.
I clued two
Ah. Looking...
BR, can you give me the first 2 letters ONLY of the 9 please?
...and thank you. :)
Got 'em! Maybe I need more coffee. Not worth getting up yet for though.
Indeed, and thank you!
pi 8 and 9
Thanks very much. I'll see if they exist or not.....
fo 6 -- enemy and most of the moon's influence on the oceans
So howzabout that bottom T? I have Stepped, elec*****, double, 2 string words, and a British upper class wanker.
My favorite phantom is in again: lepton.
rat manipulator and Bliss and Ticonderoga
Thanks!
ts 5 -- like the marquis de with different ending
That's done it! That T is no longer my enemy! Thank yoU!
Gor 'em. Thanks again BR
ack. *got
I am struggling with a very crap net
the nine was difficult for me
I understand, Herin. Hang in there.
Doesn't jump at ya' that's for sure. I kinda thought it'd be t, for no reason in particular.
sm 5 is a portmanteau of California air
wo 8 again extends a 4 and 6
heh, didn't have that. Merci buckets BR
The sm that is
I am just looking at my half sisters pics. She is too thin
Thanks, BabRab, that got me 3!
That sm was my last s, and I NEVER would have looked for that. Unusual word.
My neighbor is too thin and keeps complaining that she needs to diet.
yo 5 --- form of Alpine communication
That one I DO have!
Still need 2 y's though.
to 5, 4, 4, 5, 5, 4
Annoyed that yo5/22 is OK but not yowza.
god. *yo even
ni 5/6 -- add what several African countries start with
omg the dictionary doesn't have "wolly"
I knew what you meant, Lori, and thanks.
Thanks!
Are you kidding me BR? Wouldn't have gotten that either....
What's wolly mean?
it's an idiot, at least in england
Oh, OK! Learn something every day here!
odd that they don't have it in the dictionary, guess it must be an american dictionary
It's 'wally' not 'wolly'.
This dictionary is highly schizophrenic. You'll get used to it.
Aha!
G'd morning Jacula
It does let you enter the British shortened form of rubber boots.
Hi Jac
uh, no, at least not where I'm from, it's definately an O
OK, must diespense lunch to the little one now. Catch you folks later! Thanks for all teh clues, and have fun!
wally Noun. 1. An idiot or imbecile. Prolific use during the early 1980s. {Informal} 2. A pickled cucumber, a gherkin.
you'll also find it with the "o" spelling
'wolly' is east London dialect for a pickled cucumber.
yes, and it's also an idiot...
Are you an Eastender, Buggie?
cya, MG
no, I'm from glos
Ack, knew there had ta' be an az word.
Interesting, Buggie. Not heard it used in Glos. and I'm only in next county.
well I've used it and heard it used ever since I was little
Lori - Thanks. Don't know what the 'az' is yet but you got me an ad5 by saying that.
ad 4 == axe-like- tool
We use Wally here as a term for idiot (but i guess Wolly would work)
Buggie - Babble's great for learning new things. Thanks for the info.
you're welcome :)
not that much difference between wolly and wally anyway :)
It's only pronunciation, I guess.
di 5 -- with a different vowel would be a twelfth of a gross
yvw Jacula. "wallies" here, is slang for boobs. :p
True and welcome. I am currently battling an Idiot Vista issue
Lori - yes, I've heard that.
have you tried turning it off and back on again ? ;o)
Thanks forthe di5, BR.
Its one of those dare to be within a centre metre of the bar at the top and it has the pop up buttons.Driving me spare
I'll just sit here and let BR do all my thinking for me..... :D
I will stop sorry
Not a't'all! Great clues, not spoon fed, and words I'd never get. Lovin' it!
Herin - No pop-up blocker then?
Cluing is an art in and of itself.
BBS - need more tea.
omg I only just twigged the reference to the british rubber boots
i thought that was spelt wh not we
spelled even i think
no, it's an abbreviation of your capital
7 more 4's can't be that hard to find.....
Herin's in Oz not NZ.
spelled / spelt, depends if you're going for americain or british (I have no idea what the other english speaking countries do)
Um I am in Australia not NZ they have a red star at the bottom. We have the Southern Cross. Its easy to misspot
Herin - any tips on cooking kangaroo steaks? I'm doing them for the first time tomorrow. I hear they can dry out easily.
Um skippy steaks hang on a sec
ah sorry, can't see the difference on these tiny icons
Ha, ha. That's what I call 'em, too, Herin.:-)
good morning everyone. Or, rather, frigid, dark morning.
Hello Eva & Merp. It's sunny but cold here.
http://tinyurl.com/5zfhgk
hello, Eva
G'd morning Eva
HI Eva and Merp. Its ok Buggie
i've been looking for that pi8/9 for ages. Any hints?
pi 8/9 city in California?
Herin - Thanks.
is the first part a tree?
- 2 C --- good tanning weather
Nope, forget the tree, and go to the dessert. :)
2 more d's and that torture is over.....
Hmm. Is there more than 1 dw maybe?
2
add fruit of the vine
As Adam and Jamie say on Mythbusters, 'there's my problem'. Thanks BR
mmmm
di 4 --- past tense variant
lol, and it rhymes too....
still don't get how california and the dessert go together.
Ok can i please have the meaning of the pi 8 please
I can't see that one either
a coin or pattern struck on a blank thicker than that used for the regular issue.
thank you
past tense the dessert add french short for mountain Eva
OH i see it
Think of the piper of Hamelin for the first part.
Maybe my geography sucks, and it's not a city in California?
I was looking UP not down
Thank you. Would never have gotten that. It's close lori- Piedmont.
and Knox Bliss Ticonderoga for the second part
theres a city with a similar name, but doesn't seem to be one with that exact name, as far as I can see
anyway, got it, thanks!
***crap. Lori's had the blondest moment ever, shuts up, and skulks away apologising profusely for having that trapped in my brain instead of the ACTUAL word.***
***reiterates apology and shuts up***
Del Shannon song: Hey! Come on babe, Follow me
MA 6 please
it doesn't matter Lori-you got us there eventually(-:
ma 6 -- extend the 4 with the grid suffix of choice today
Man, I had Piedmont trapped in the brain........ so, so, sooooo sorry 'bout that.
Herin - ma6 = 'on the whole'.
Yeah, Lori. allow yourself to be human and laugh
scratching head ok ill think about it
Cluing words that don't exist add a special element to Babble. I bring that to the table. :D
Herin - try this for ma6... if a male is macho, rather than a wimp, he's ma6.
DOH thanks. I have had such a problem with the net that i keep missing twords
wi 6 -- to prevail and mr mrs ms sir etc ti***
babble brings that to the table in the first place, so you're just personalizing it.
wi 5 --- is what babble does for me ..... with great difficulty
that's a word ? Ô.o (wi6)
-7.8 degrees here this morning. More like January than November.
is that the 5/28 BR?
Scottish word, Buggie. Means to roll about or to capsize.
ahhhh, thanks
ti 6 -- keeps a cravat in place yes, Lori
pi6/21 rhymes with wi6. It's a towing bracket.
this grid is twisty
Ahh, last w done.
kept spelling wi 6/30 the wrong way. :/
Found my last i, the in 5/12. What I am at cluing. :D
hah, got that one thanks ;o)
pl 6 -- in court, the judge asks "how to you Pl ***, guilty or not guilty? the the pl 6 adds a vowel
Ahh, my missing corner p. Thanks agin BR
ah, finally past half way, I'm gonna stop for now, happy babbling :)
TTFN, Buggie.
morning everyone
Hello Katie.
its NOT 201!!!
No, Carlee. Makes a change, doesn't it?
short hello again
do I want to do it today tho..i want to be SO lazy
Don't do it then, carlee.
oh....what the heck...diving in with a bottle of wi4
i am about to toddle off to bed
nite nite herin...and i JUST woke up
and I'm about to get dressed. LOL
i'm about to get coffee....
i'm sitting with crumble on my lap and am not moving anywhere!¬
that works too..i went to bed SO early last nite
my cats were up at me all night.." are you alive?"
Is crumble a cat or a pudding?:D
I think in this case is a cat
a big fat (needs to go on a di**) cat
LOL
Kitty. Mine has a habit of doing the whole Huhhuhhuh what about now are you going to get up what about NOW. she didn't dare do that today. i actually slept from 3am to 1pm all the way through
my kitten...if u happen to do a mini almost awake stretch at 4-5 am...she gives a litle chirpy meow....and wanders up to lick your cheek/ hair...whatever availbale to her
crumble likes to scratch my bottom until i get up!
We don't allow pets in the bedroom. Cat sleeps in the utility room.
Having said that, we have got a guinea pig in the spare room at the moment.
(See my flickr for info about that.)
ours all sleep in the bedroom and have the routine of when they get fuss and where they sleep
my cats go anywhere...yesterday I was rolling burak and I had had a dining chair into kitchen so I could reach my spices on top shelf...then was rolling the burak at my island...the kitten planted herself on the chair...with front paws hanging over the back of the chair....watching...the whole time
was pretty cute " whatcha doing mum?"" whatcha doin'?" " can I help mum"
Jac how is Guinea pig?
Carlee min does that but it is more for the shinny fridge bugs
crumble's 'safe place' is on top of the high units in the kitchen which she gets to via the cooker hood, one of the reasons she needs to lose weight before she breaks it!!!
Herin - Healing well and slowly putting on weight.
oh wonderful
good morning beautiful babblers... happy babbling
glad to hear it jacs

Hello oodle.

MORNING oops. sorry
hi rth
O.O we had snow!!
hi red, we didn't ata
***making note to mail ata some snow***
awwww we did, for about 2 hours
holy cow snow! did it stay?
no :( it rained straight after
it is a balmy -8 here and windy
46, calling for a high of 75.
when I used to live in fla.. I was greeaing when it got below 60
freezing
its going to be nice, and since I have the day off no complaints, we are going over to disney...
hey all
hi bf
how are we all
Hi bf. I'm off for a bath as we now have both heating and hot water :-)
woely
oooh my frequent phantom is a real wprd today!
rth.....in your travels.... have u passed through asheville?
in NC? yes many times, never worked there.
so...is there much to do over xmas time there? i have 2 teenagers
katie where has your hot water been!
There should be...its a medium city, might get sno, close to skiing...(not real skiing but NC skiing...
broken, thought we needed a new boiler but our friend came over this morning and fixed it so we can wait until spring to replace it. It has been a very cold couple of days!!
no skiing either
It's a very artsy community. Lots of Highland Scottish stuff around.
yeah too right, snow there?
we want to escape family during xmas....is just a 5 day getaway
No we didn't get any thank goodness, though it did rain a lot this morning.
I think it sort of depends on the kids, too. You can go to Biltmore, and tour it will be decorated for the Holidays, thats an all day thing...
i got lots here, my brother in law just got srtuck in the snow so it was the bfsog mobile to the rescue
I thought you might have got a lot bf
all day in a house?
katie do you make crumpets or know of a good recipe
sorry oodle I buy them ready made
It is a most enormous house, estate, ith a winery and huge Gardens.
i do same..i HAVE made them..not worth the work...
I have never tasted one and can't cause they are made of wheat
Right found the first 100, I'm off ,see you later :-)
later katie
little shops and all, google it, but to be honest I like Biltmomre better in the summer when you can rest on the lan.
bbye katie hagd
ha! had to run downstairs and make sure husband didn't use all the milk
er i meant lawn.
i understood rth
i have a 16 year old son..anything he'd like?
ata do you also buy your crumpets ready made or do you make yours?
ready made
Hi Babblers....this grid looks difficult.
hmmmm.....it is a very artsy fartsy place, depends on the kid.
hockey.....video games.
I'm a native of Asheville, but haven't lived there in many years. My son still lives up there. Asheville is a hippie town with lots of art & crafts. Like Red said, The Biltmore House is THE thing to see. Also the Grove Park Inn is a great place to have lunch.
is hockey where you bat balls aroun and try to get them in little holes hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
is banana bread easy to make?
love banana bread always have frozen on hand
bloody easy ata
but if u have left over mushy bananas..and some choc chips..mykids FAV cookies are banana choc chip..am to make some today
frozen bananas that is
easy for *cooks* or easy for someone who can just about boil an egg? :P
EASY
yep, we have excess mushy bananas, and I feel the need to use them somehow
do u have choc chips?
excellent!
um ... I can get some!
oh wow I never heard of banana choc chip... i shall have to try some
my daughter makes it A LOT!
salut une :-D
hold on..calling up recipe link i use ALL Time..I have 4 bananas that are black... making these today under death threats from kids
salut, oodle!
oh my death threats... hmmmmmm
which is marginally more healthy? cookies or banana bread?
probably banana bread . . . esp. if you add chopped nuts . . .
well...u can monitor portion size easier with cookies then u can slabs of bread
but then if it's oatmeal raisin cookies, they're pretty healthy
decisions, decisions
has anyone put raisins in banana bread?
http://tinyurl.com/6k237l
nigella's recipe I found says to put raisins in
raisins shouldn't be put into anything
when my mother is visiting and I make banana bread I have to put raisins in it
lent
raisins are wonderful! of course, I love all dried fruit (except figs)
mmmmmmm
i hate raisens
raisins should be in *everything*. well, sultanas should, but raisins will do
bad tropiske, pb for u!
these little cookies have texture of a muffin....but are cookies..very soft..and only ingredient substitution I make is dark sugar in place of white....
mmmm they look wonderful
dark brown...more flavour then the white
super easy...just watch time..they burn easily....
i bake at 5 degrees F lower then it calls ..and I watch last 2 mins
morning everyone:)
hey, cross :-)
morning crossy
hi crossy
ok, dogs begging to go out to pee . . . BBL
morning crossy
hey ata
hmmm maybe I'll make banana bread, that sounds too temperamental for my crappy oven to deal with. It seems to have 2 heat settings - "very hot" and "not quite so hot" and I have to adjust recipes anything up to 20 minutes longer for cooking!
:( too bad... they so yummy
crossy - after whining all day yesterday about snow, we had snow this morning
i wonder whats for breakfast...
I will keep the recipe for when we get a decent oven!
ata,are both upper and lower elements working? and if they are a tad weak on the botton line the base of the oven with a sheet of tin foil under the element
in brit terms...with a sheet of aluminium
ermm I've never investigated it that closely! I shall look this afternoon
(we have tin foil :)
if the lower element is weak you can gain almost 75 f by placing sheet of tinfoil under the element
O.O wow!
or send one of your menfold to the store and get 2 new elements
menfolk*
i's done..on to l's
i just started, we have to clean, get hair cuts, and, of course, WATCH THE COLTS GAME TODAY!!! so, im prob. not gonna be on for long...
omg! its NOT snowing today!...nice change
its frosty here...
sunny skies.....fluffy white clouds...and going up to 4C here crossy....right balmy
looking like an inside, crackling fire, NFL watching day
hello everyone!
hey annie
hi uman!
morning annie
yester at the resort i work at we have a block of units right at the base of the hill.there were no rentals for the back units of this block since the snow started but i had to go check a lock on one of the doors...i was wading through snow that was mig thigh:(
hi carlee!
hi uman
hi annie
hey carlee

its just when u cut and paste from this box..u have to each line at a time
u have to do each line at a time
clicking back and forth between screens
crossy, beautiful ski area
it is fairly small, but generally, if you want babblers to actually look at a link, tinyurl it!
i gotta go eat... and use the restroom...
mm thats strange,i use forefox and picked up the addy all as a single c+p...strange
TMI uman
but i will check out tiny url
hello :) I've always wondered how tinyurl works but never looked at it
it's a babble peculiarity crossy
yes you dont have to ask to go tiddle:)
lizzzzzz!
hi lizz!!
oh..annie... I think we are headed to asheville over xmas
I was waiting for that! Attttttttttttta! LOL
what's the M?
Hi Carlee :)
gah, I'm getting predictable
asheville where?
NC
*giggle* sorry Ata :)
i want to go to asheville!
carlee, Asheville should be an interesting place to visit....did you consider Disney World?
so tell me about tinyurl - where do I find it and how do I use it?
but I have a new Hobbit pic as my icon :)
www.tinyurl.com
carleee, I mentioned Disney because you have teenagers
you paste in a long url, and it gives you a short version, and automatically copies the short version to your clipboard, so you just flip to wherever and paste again
we driving.....its a 1 day drive...actually 12 hours to asheville
I already looked at her in close up :)
carlee, but then, there is the Biltmore in Asheville. I would love to see it
I'll give that a try next time I post a link on here
ill check it out ata
it really is a useful little thing
Did you see my status on facebook today ata?
isn't scarlet in Ashveville??
Carlee, I don't of Asheville as a real Christmas destination, but if you like little arts & crafts shops you'll enjoy it.
and I called scarlet.... we planning a day together
Washington DC would be a great place.
Une, Yes, she is
oh, what fun!!!
what's the M?
yes, arts and antiques and the gorgeous Biltmore Estate!
haven't got to facebook today yet *runs to look*
carlee, what great fun...GO to Asheville..I must write to Scarlet. I miss her
don't know, hurshy smurshy
yes annie...u should write her...
carlee, are you driving down in one day or breaking it up? You can stay in Washington, DC for a day. Your son would love the Air and Space Museum.
NO! Oscar!!!!
not sure
Brat isn't he!
we have 5 days to play with
carlee, I want to go with you....pout...pout
You told me he was storing something up LOL Ata

carlee, then get away and be with your kids and enjoy the holiday.
wow, crossy--it's the North Pole! LOL
can someone clue the top m please
its my home bfsog:(
he's adorble, but a little terror!
is he a springer? cocker?...
where's this pic you're talking about??
little PUPPY!
he's a beagle/maltese mix
no way! He looks like a spaniel!
my8... my + not high+ opp of day
he does!
yeah, i think it's the short legs and long body
I'm very jealous! I'd love a new puppy!
Oscar would eat it
lol
that m clue i get it but its not working .....hmmmmmmm
No! Not spiky enough - he still prefers hedgehogs (or fairy cakes I must add)
did u get my clue hurshy?
thanks carlee
ah got it
ty
:0)
hedgehogs? *facepalm*
oh oh did I not tell you about that?
How long does the game go on
you know what ata we should write a book - I'll do the words and you can do the Oscar pictures! LOL
till 1 am
I don't think so!
Tails of a Naughty Dog :D
It was a few months ago now. We were in the field and he caught a hedgehog (blush) and ate it. LAter that day he pinched a packet of strepsils and ate them. I phoned the vet in a panic and he laughed and told me Oscar was self-medicating
spines and all??!
i LOVE oscar
everything
Oscar is the perfect dog
Oscar!!!
LOL Carlee - Its a good job I do too or I would be insane by now!!!
did he find a pack of rennies to eat too?
what is a strepsil
he has a cast iron stomach I think
liz..clone him and send him to me
strepsils are throat sweets in the UK Ooodle
( cough candy..strong)
cough medication sweet things
omg
I'm sorry Carlee, I'd love to clone Oscar but the thought of wishing another Oscar on the world would be akin to terrorism
cano-terrorism
when our son bradly was young he drank half a bottle of windex poupori (sp) cleaner lol that dog sory just reminded me of that:)
nooo....we need an oscar on this side of pond
I think it's good he's confined to a small island
*giggles* Next time my husband nips over to Canada I'll pack Oscar in his case!
*Laughing at Ata*
Good grief Crossy! Was he ok?
woohoo.....i am close to lake ( 5 min walk)....oscar can go swimming any time he wants
I am determined to somehow bring Hobbit down to visit you and him though!
i went away to facebook, carlee, but i have now seen your clue and thank you!
He would be in his element but I'd miss him too much. What would I do for entertainment
:0) hurshy
Oh Ata! That would be wicked wouldn't it!
u can have my dorky kitten who likes to help bake
yes liz he was fine, doctor said the "flavoured" window cleaners are less harmfull that that standard windex
I already have 5 cats thank you Carlee
absolutely!
my husband sent me the trailer for the new trek movie. i'm very conflicted about it.
damn..i have 4
Oscar just came trotting into my office with a photo album in his mouth
i want to see that one... the new star trek
loooooool
he's complaining he's not in it enough liz
he must have been listening
hi Oscarmonster!
we have 2 kitties and thats enough
omg he's wrecking the place I hve to go take him into the kitchen. Back in a bit - have fun everyone
i have 3, so if anybody here has one, we've got all the amounts covered
up to 5, that is.
i have only 1
later liz
tada!
I have 1/2
i think 1-2 would be a better way to put it, you haven't got half a cat!
have! she's half the size of a normal cat!
lol
i thought you had a cat you were taking care of for someone else still, and that you meant you had one but sort of two, lol
nope LOL, though I have *thinks* 5 god-cats
Ata - i have a part-time cat... maybe yours and mine equal a whole... lol
cats I get to look after on a regular basis
how much does sily weigh?
about 4lb
she comes in long enough to eat and nap and then is gone... doesn't care for anyone but my daughter, and that's take it/leave it
that IS small
awwwwww
she really is little, I'm *trying* to feed her up to get to 5lb!
4lbs... is she an adult?
yep, 2 and a half
her mum was a beautiful pedigree burmese though, even smaller than Sily
wow..she is tiny..my one cat is 17 pounds..and not fat
wow... that is tiny
that's why she's half a cat :P LOL
my mitten is pleasantly plump at 11 pounds
urgh..the ma7 is dorky
u can feel my 17 pounder's ribs even....
it's funny that all my cats are sort of around the same size when they are all unrelated.
there, there's a pic of her :)
what does the 9 start with?
je ne sais pas
a p
PL i hope...
now I want pyoderma. well, I don't, but ...
tried to get you all a nice pic of our old train station but it is buried in snow:) http://tinyurl.com/6bhu7k
snow..yakky....don't like it...at least urs looks clean... ours is dirty now
oh, there's that other P to consider... far more likely
duh, so there is!
Hello all, one cat here :-)
hello one cat here :)
of course it is clean carlee..none of it is over 4 days old lol
now I want pediast or piastre
as the philosopher jagger said, "you can't always get what you want"
either is ours.....petrochemical industry here
hi peri....
hi peri
*sigh* i can't think of anything 9 letters long
but I need the 9 ;)
he said I'd get that
am on o's right now....
may I have a nudge on the 8's please and the 9
he said we MIGHT
do we know the second letter?
my+ not high + not day is the only one I have peri
maybe it's a 5-something word
I was wondring that
i don't think it is though :(
thanks carlee, never would have found that one
nor me lol
ok...moving on to p's
gm all...the pi 8 and 9 are my last words...any clues?
pi it is!
mmm it dosent accept pented
it's not pitinole
or pinellow
crossy has pented up fury that the grid does not take pented:/
ok..got it
past tense of the dessert common with apples or pumpkin+ a snow "house" and plural
not sure if anyone has already noted this...but a famous hobbit is in this puzzle (not an answer, but his name is here!)
strange words
hmph! what is that, like a strong foot?
no idea...not in mood to look up
it's a coin thickness!
so the other 8 must start with S or T
brb
wo8
or W
TY carlee... first words were the pi7 & 8
:)
thanx for the clues, carlee
welcome kje
wo4 extended, extended
got it!
LOL Kim... that is still sooooo absurd
ok, must be tired, not getting the "house" part of the pi8/9
5 more days kje
kids make them peri
you need one to protect you in a snowball fight
5 more days of almost pornographic turkey? LOL
peri - think what soliders lived in long ago
0_o
on to the t's....31 to go
oooh, finally got the pi 8 and 9, thanks carlee
welcome annie
wow, great carlee!!! I have 146 to go : (
gm annie
kje, I see you are still in Burma...where to next?
thailand!!! street food!!! I am soooooo excited!
name that proper noun! detective on MYSTERY! series set during WWII
they eat fried bugs in thailand
Lovely!
I will eat it ALL jean!
Hi Jean
you would? oy
well...maybe... nothing that is still moving!
I took a pass on those
it's easy to be adventurous when it's all virtual!
true hursh - rofl
finally got the pi8/9, thanks carlee
yeh, I guess you can't get virtual diarrhea
but i am a very adventurous eater even in real life... i can try almost anything once
how about durian fruit? i hear the smell is not to be believed
like rotten cheese
and thankfully, i have an iron gut... never have had traveler's diarrhea despite eating at some crazy places
also called "starvation fruit" because you'd have to be starving to et it
egad!
but it is suppose to taste heavenly if you get past the smell
I liked the dragon fruit in vietnam
weird.
am heading there too jean...
i tried dragon fruit...bleck
brb
u will like it
weird what?
i just remembered i dreamed that the director where i work was suddenly replaced one morning by a very corporate guy
is that good or bad?
who was wearing a polo shirt with a golf course on it
and he was mean to the girl i work with
9 holes or eighteen?
it would be bad.
it's a perfectly obvious dream though
w,y and z to go
the girl i work with has had some (to me) unexpected difficulties regarding her pregnancy, and my subconscious feels as if the nice academic i know has been replaced by a mean corporate person
after dreaming about jilli tattooing hair on ruru's bald head one night... I no longer try to figure out why I dream ANYTHING
job difficulties, not medical ones, of course
good morning Babblers
morning
hi nono
hi nono

Hi Owl!
hi TO..
hi TO!
my day off addiction is going out with my camera for interesting photos..was just strolling in our old downtown section and noticed a gap between two of the stores and on the wall was a old pained on advertisment ofr a hardware store with a german family name,i hate to get a picture of it and go online and find out more cause of the stores phone number..it was 21
had*
*hails the Babblers* Interesting grid, looks like.
cool cross
mine is lying in bed all day drowsing with my cats...
LOLOL hursh
hi uni.. yes, it is interesting.. dive in
I like you people! you always make me laugh
hi uni
speaking of uni - where has our young college student been... have not seen her in eons
buried in her books
want a laugh kje? i was lazy the other day and instead of going to the regular laudromat i took all our dirty clothes to my work and ran them through the industrial machine i have there....i did not know there was a new bright red dish scrubbie mixed up in the dirty clothes....
i'm baking cookies..and making apple butter
have you seen her annie?
that is a classic cross... i am sure your wife loved you for that
so im sitting here and all my clothes are now pink!..:(
oh oh
kje, no I haven't. Last time she was on (a while ago) she was busy working in the book shop and studying
my son 2 years ago said he wanted punk boxers....
i am now the proud owner of 12 pink t-shirts:/
*whistles at cross in his sexy pink boxers*
hope she is doing well
so,,,,i went out..bought white ones..and dyed pink
as phoebe said on friends, "what a great idea! now all your clothes match! i'm gonna do this."
3 pairs of pink underwear....
LOL hursh
kje, I am sure she is. I will ask about her when Lori is on.
lol crossy
and 9 pairs of pink socks
I think cross is trying to tell us something.... are you outing yourself, cross?
(she comes on occasionally, one babbler made her feel a little uncomfortable, so she doesn't come on much anymore :( )
oh dear, is it because of the thing with me?
Ata, Oh that is a shame. I like her so much
oh that's too bad, ata
uni???? uncomfortable??? darn it
hi ata.
I like uni - she is young and refreshing
no, hurshy, don't worry :)
crossy is secure in his masculinity....
(wow, that made me sound really old!!!)
lol kje... not really
kje, you're a kid!
I do too. I miiiiss her
next ill try new whites and blacks together and go with the grey look;)
(poofs again, trying to work!)
great idea, cross lol
gray and pink - nice
sure you aren't trying to tell us anything?
rofl is in the grid
Carlee, the apple butter sounds good. Have you ever made rhubarb butter?
nope just messing with colours and loare amounts of bleach:)
large
Rhubarb butter *mmmm*
nope..haven't..i don't have a good "supply" of rhubarb :(
i don't think the bleach works too well once you have died everything pink - LOL
rhubarb butter??..ewwww
how can you say eww? that sounds delightful!
my dad loves rhubarb... I'm not sure I get the whole appeal
crossy, I try to keep my hubby away from the washer as he does the "woonka" method.. big scoop, toss in, turn on.. "woonka" as he scoops up the washed clothes, throws them in the dryer.. like a machine.. woonka, woonka, it all gets done together.. quick, but......
oh its very good crossy, smooth and sweet with a bit of tang
lol i love it! my way of doing laundry has a name"the wonka method":)
annie... I am off to have another bagel and lox (bought 2 yesterday)... will blame any bump on the scale this week on you... just FYI in case your ears start to burn as I am weighing and cursing
LOL, But, my dear kje, it was Worth It.
it totally is!
*taking ice cubes out of freezer in preparation for tomorrow"s ear burning*
oh dear, they are meeeelllltinggg
Rhubarb, in my opinion, can only be made excellent by people over the age of 65. Especially grandmas. I've had bad, decent, good, and even great rhubarb elsewise, but the only fantastic/excellent rhubarb I've had has been made by that generation (especially my grandmother, who made strawberry rhubarb jam for waffles)
Sorry if I'm totally late on the subject, btw.
lol uni... you may be late, but you have a good point. My mother (who is 78) makes the most fantastic rhubarb & saskatoon pies.
it doesn't matter, it is a very pleasing hypothesis
its ok uni, I am not quite over 65 but close enough to qualify i think
i want to go back to bed
its kind of like zuccini..i cant eat it any other way that in my mother in-laws zuccini bread
ohboy, i don't remember starting this grid
my dad, who would be 83 (bless his departed soul), got me hooked on rhubarb dipped in sugar for a snack.
not while the apple butter is cooking carlee! it would burn
hi Nut
hi nutty
That could very well be, Nono...and not to knock your abilities, but perhaps when you make that 65 mark, you'll end up being astounded at the greater magic caused by that number.
NUTTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hey nonoyesyes, i gotsto lay my head down beforeit explodes
i have an amazing zucchini recipe that middle eastern....its heaven
Or perhaps I'm wrong, and your rhubarb is glorious. Either way, I have no rhubarb and no one to make it for me...and I know that I will be my own biggest disappointment.
nomore drinking...and why isn'tthe space bar working???
*whispers* good morning, nut
i cook in slow cooker for 16+ hours
( the apple butter in slow cooker )
i bet its less messy that way Carlee
hi owlly poopsie
poor nut..... everyone be verrrrrry quite please
sssshshhsssssshhhhh for the nut
i just peel and chop up about 50 applesinto slowcooker 1 cup brown sugar, a tsp of cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg...and put on lid..walk away..at hour 10-12 I put through blender...then return for 4+ hours with lid and then 2+ without
WHY? NO ONE IS QUIET WHEN I AM HUNGOVER!
its all my brother and sister in laws fault
did they pour the evil stuff down your throat nut?
thank you for asking that, nono
well, i didn't haveto buy any...
yep sounds like they set out to do you in
my only consolation is that she was WAY worse than me

i can't remember last time I was tipsy..let alone drunk

i don't like this grid.
tell it how you really feel owl
I'm not tod fond of it myself TO
closing eyes now
i rarely drink nutty.....
i liked it..there a BIG surprise
knew I was in trouble when you said you liked it Carlee
**hanging head** sorry nono
pick that head up Carlee, it's not your fualt. I blame it all on the grid and FM
and WHY does drinking make one poo?
i am freezing. and sitting next to radiator.
no answers to that one eh...
i wouldn't know nutty...I rarely drink..i have to work with alcohol..so I don't touch it much
its ike when u work at mcd's u don't eat it
i'm waiting for kids to abandon kitchen...so I can clean it..then get my apple butter started
and on that note...i will go...hagd all
bye, carlee.. hagd too!

two words are made by add the preoposition that means "prior to"
thanks, Aloy for sw7
another da 7 is made from a past tense

glad you did well. i am so not in the shopping mood. went to woodbury outlets with my daughter a while ago but couldn't think about presents then. should have
the smart outlets are already clearing everyothing out. tho there are some that still don't get it.
i am the same. besides, unless it;s a sure thing, outlet shopping is risky for presents. BTW i am buying myself a new tv. the old one did not pass the digital test it;s too old!

A young lady in Ireland, goes to her sister's assisted living establishment and works there for a short while. During this time, their mother has a stroke and the younger sister stays while the older goes to be with mom. It takes place over Chirstmas, and most of the residents go to see family but there are 4 particulary cantankerous old folks that stay. It was very heart warming.
I think "bits" is a funny word
Been trying the yowza, yowsa thing all day, kje. Sigh. If you can have the 5.22, why not these?
what class did she have to watch it for, phan?
Some Woman's Studies literature class

Like telling someone gullible isn't in the dictionary, I guess...
LOL MG
I have had several people look that up and read the definition and still not know why I was laughing...
Native English speakers, I mean. Here, it'd just be mean.
rofl - i will try that sometime
it is kind of mean either way ; )
It works best if you "suddenly notice" that a friend has " that edition" of a dictionary...
Hi everyone

it's ok, nothing to hide here, but i miss my girls and my grandchildren a lot, cry a little every day

i was spoiled, whenever i ate fish it was fresh caught that day
ty Ata
ditto down here, it's just so good
the Boss and i went shopping and we were in sainsbury's and the fish counter was rank, had to cover my nose it was so bad, fish should not smell like that, fresh fish doesn't smell
*adds jacq's name to the london area babblers* you must miss moray, but it's nice to another person down around here!
i miss the sea, i've seen it every day almost since i was 5
no, not at all! when I want fish, I go down to the harbour at Whitstable and buy whatever they have for sale that day
i miss the babies
gawd, will start bawling like a baby soon

lol, true
hi jacq
I was in London last week too Ata!
we went to a chippy here a good few weeks ago and i sent my fish back because it was awful, and the guy said "this is haddock, it tastes stronger than cod, and i laughed at him and told him i grew up with fishermen
oh! you were, weren't you? how were teh concerts?
my son is always talking about the fish and chips he had last time we were home..couldn't get over the fact that they were wrapped in newspaper lol
good f&c shops in london are worth their weight in gold, if and when you find them!
absolutely FANTASTIC! thanks
oh I had f&c with mushy peas in Yorkshire!
mmmmmmmm!
mushy peas, i've never had them
we went to Fullers brewery too Ata, my favourite brewer!
oh i luv mushy peas lol
I miss mushy peas )0:
mushy peas are great!
my hubby is with you on that one Lind...he laments at the beer here although world market now carries some better ones
i'll take your word for it, i rarely eat processed foods
nor me, but mushy peas are mushy peas :)
we can get almost any beers here but the UK ales are pasturized here so not as good
take fresh peas and mash em jac lol

£85 bottle of scotch! what type?
the bloody good type

they were both Balvenie, but one was older, both in similar boxes
the expensive one is for my son for xmas!
or non expensive one!!
if he doesn't want it (due to insanity) send it my way please
lucky son!
LOL
he is lucky cos as it was so cheap he can have extra gift!

*thinking more*
it sounds like the ti4 and what boys build for wargames
oh, I am SUCH a noob!
PI 8 - pt of a crusted food & a sort of castle

hello all
well..... that tree being gone clears a rather larger space than I expected. *sad look* I hate cutting down healthy plants... but it was impeding the growth of my chestnut tree
hi peri
hello peri
wanted to bake the Vegan Choc Cake recipe that herin sent to me but don't have any baking power :(
hey peri
and I am too lazy to go the store
will go shopping tomorrow
*grin* baking soda and salt? I don't remember the exact one... hold on.
I am eating a small Reese's choc candy instead
and my brown sugar is as hard as a rock!
Hi all, for about two minutes!
here peri, look at this page, substitution on the right
hey monkey!!!! how's you? classes? kiddo?
hi all
what page, stid?
peri, microwave the brown sugar and it will be fine
hi nrkii!!
hey nrk!
in the box or out, nrkii?
HI!!!! Me sucks, classes not bad and 8 weeks to go, kiddo great!
http://www.joyofbaking.com/bakingsoda. html
sorry peri, distracted watching the trees come down
thanks stid will check it out now
How you?
((((sucky monkey)))) hope you feel better soon.
how about Sam?
I put my brown sugar in a ziploc before I put it back in the brown sugar box, and it never gets hard... but before I started doinog that, I would microwave the brown sugar to soften it
I went to see a 100 year old acquaintance yesterday....
not in the box peri, sorry, missed that question, but in the plastic, and not for very long
thanks nrkii
brb
Sam was pretty chipper on the phone about an hour ago but, well, he's extremely elderly now. But in good health.
well gotta go, bbl
glad you were able to have a conversation with him today.
later lindy!!!!
okay, I'm glad we don't have 201 words again today
you can you baking soda peri... only 4X less what it calls for baking powder
24 left here... need list
Thanks, Stid. I get my x-rays tomorrow. Had visible swelling and bruising over the weekend so I hope something acn be done soon.
I get the MRI tomorrow... I am very nervous about it.
for instance if the recipe calls for 1 tsp bap
Me too, Stid. I call at least once a week, usually more.
baking powder you would use 1 /4 tsp baking soda
Akk, I have missed what you need it for!!! Are you OK?
Monkey, what happened?
stid = hip; nrkii = shoulder; monkey = ???... are we all falling apart?
it's the stupid-dumb blasted rotten hip.... but right now it feels okay so I don't know if the MRI will even show anything. They made me so mad, taking MONTHS to get the appointment right.
Bent down to put soap in teh dishwasher, nrk. Couldn't stand upa gain for a long while... that was four montsh ago now.
*picks up fingers that dropped off while typing* falling apart, nrk??? what gave you that idea?
Oh dang, Stid! But the MRI itself will be fun. It's a cool technology. I hope your hipchecks out OK-- as in something that can be treated, not as in you-know-something's-wrong-and-they-d on't-see-it-OK!
peri?
I think she left as I came on, Oodle.
Keep me posted, OK?
peri will be back quickly
I had a stone massage while I was on vacation, which was wonderful... but the massage therapist says he thinks my legs might be different lengths, and maybe that's the source of my falling
the recipe calls for baking powder and baking soda, think I will wait and go to the store tomorrow.
I mean about the hip...
stid, make sure they get you as comfy as possible for the MRI... I like them myself, but you're there for a while
Aha, nrkii! I hope it's that simple! They make shoes for that.
I will monkey... hoping the MRI shows SOMETHING because it is worse to be in pain with no apparent cause than to know what it is. I can't take narcotics, so it's not like I am faking something to get drugs. *sigh* but the docs still look at me funny.
thanks nrk, I will.
yep, I'm going to have it checked out soon... after surgery, etc
I am thinking the hip is probably the cause of both the knee pain and the low back pain that have plagued me for thirty years.
I know EXACTLY what you mean, Stid! Akk, OK, time I go! Have fun and take care folks! Really... take care!
later monkey! BE WELL -- take care... *nag nag*
stid, I hear you... I had major hip problems when I was 17, and the doctors told me to lose weight... but I had just lost 50 pounds before it started... I was so annoyed
bye monkey!
now I realize that losing the weight messed with my balance... other injuries can do the same
and if your body adjusts its balance, it puts pressure on places that didn't have pressure before
and you end up with pain in places that used to be fine
yes, that sounds familiar nrk!
I think that, once I figure out the hip/low back (the cause could be either one) then the rest of the problems will pretty much take care of themselves.
probably so!
oh then she went to get baking powder eh?
My biggest hope is that it will show a structural deformity -- but no actual damage. then I can work with a physical therapist to support the musculature and get back to working in my yard. Which needs me. Which is why TOM is out there cutting down and limbing up trees instead of me.
I am back oodle, will wait until tomorrow and will go shopping, thanks
just emerged from the grid -- stid -- didn't know about the MRI tomorrow -- good luck!
*howling* I just found the wo4
do you have baking soda?
thanks jill
yes, stid, good luck with the MRI
yes I have baking soda
but the recipe calls for baking soda and baking powder
are we still on for the last weekend of December, Jill?
Z zapped
if the recipe calls for 1 tsp bking pwdr then you would us 1/4 tsp baking soda
ohhhhhhh
*flops* gosh, I can hardly move
well shoot darn blast and bolderdash
hello atalante.... what happened? you rushed off
fish and chips!
happened
OH! rofl...
recipe calls for 1 teaspoon of baking soda and one teaspoon of baking powder
mmmmm. I like fish n chips, though don't eat them much now with the wheat problems.
mmmmm, fish and chips...
we are really lucky, we have one of the best fish and chips shops in southern England about a mile away. It's a rare treat, but omg, so good
stid, I'm still trying to decided whether to fly or take the ferry. It's really tight. If I fly it will be to and from Ganges, not Victoria. If I ferry, it will be to Swartz Bay and Fulford. Both on the 26th, arriving in the late afternoon or evening.
I think I will wander outside again and see what other damage the fellows are up to. *worried mama-gardener look* I never know what will happen once I get them outside!
Ata, can you ship me some for Dec 5 arrival please?
didn't know you could fly out of ganges... on the LITTLE PLANES???? *worried mama look*
we have very good fish and chips here, vouched for by Brit ex-pats :)
yes, stid, on the little noisy fellas -- fun.
well if you both ship me some, I'll do a taste test
you see folks, the harbor at ganges is about as wide as my yard is long... the planes are four-seaters, only a little bigger than my minivan.
*wrapping jill in bubblewrap and putting her somewhere safe*
LOL. you need decent fish and chips out there
They're the old reliable Beavers of bush pilot fame.
help with wi6 please
not the ones like the one that just CRASHED on the island next to you?
I don't have a wi 6
I have good fish and chips here, but my mom informed me she wants to get fish and chips while she's taking care of me, and I don't want to send her walking for fish and chips in the cold, and dark, alone, so I told her NO FISH AND CHIPS
I don't think so, stid
*still worried mama look*
no worry, mama
you'll just have to have f&c for lunch instead!
wi6 = start of cold season + **t it snow! **t it snow! **t it snow!
did I miss something, nrkii, why will your mom need to take care of you?
well... I think maybe son & co should visit YOU instead of you having to traipse over to them for a change. *stubborn mama look*
Ata, that's a good compromise....
great clue nrk!
peri, shoulder surgery just after thanksgiving
yes, just don't eat breakfast that day!
wow, that wi6 is a new one to me! Thx nrk
thanks nrkii, for wi6
new word for me too
there is a P like the w...
what is wrong with your shoulder, nrkii is it your rotator cuff
wi6 is courtesy of my monkeys
yep, badly torn rotator cuff
and I am going outside to decompress. back soon. *poof*
where are you having the surgery, nrkii?
that would be 4 ferry or plane fares instead of one and we don't have that kind of $$$$
Hunterdon Medical Center, in Flemington, NJ
sorry to hear that nrkii, have had rotator cuff issues with both shoulders but no tears
one of my cousins lives in Flemington
Must go get lunch and then do a job at the library for a few hours. 16 left here...bye!
good luck with your surgery, nrkii and a very speedy recovery
apparently the surgeon is very good, so I'm not nervous about the surgery, just the recovery
see ya jilli!
ts please
Good luck with the surgery, nrkii
hoorah - fireworks for me - off to chop up velcro
fish and chips will help *nod* LOL
and the recovery!
ts + if you want to lose weight, best to go on * **et
YAY kaz!!!
sorry, fish and chips on my brain makes me think about my stupid **et
now BYE!!!
thanks jilli!
yay kazzer!
oh everyone knows that word.....NOT

my stupid **et just went poof for tonight!

I cannot find one of the lo4/4, feeling stoopid, help please

I too love Scotland......they made me and honorary member of the RObertson clan when I played organ for church services in Struan on the east side of Scotland.

pi6/21, not the part of a hinge?
Mine is missing today too, Oodle.
how many you have left scrab?
mine left last night--i couldn't read key signatures, but it seems ok now
? part of a hinge ?
95, Oodle.
really scrabb, there are two pi6/21, one of them is the little bolt that holds a hinge together
Hi, cats and kittens. *been lurking*
oh I got 50
(you couldn't make this stuff up!)
Hi Lurking Judi
hi Judi
A type of bolt, huh?
anyway, i don't need that one (evidently scrab does!) i need the other one!
ty harpjane,it took me awhile, but got it!
Congrats wenfen!
anyone have wo8
good for you wen
congrats wenfen
I still have 54 to go
not yet oodle
wo 8 - adverb form of wo 6/33
ty wv
tywv
but I don't have wo6/33.
wo 6/33 is the past tense of wo 4/8
but maybe you wanted one of the wo 4/8
wo6/33: yearned for, sorely lacked.
ty Judi and wv
I got wo6 and wo8, TY!
so did I.......TYVM.
may i have any of the i's please
the i's: not capable, a teeny waterway, those are the 5's
i am ashamed to say i don't know what the 4's mean!
ty ty jane
They are Babblets, Jane.
Shame! Shame upon you! Chill, Harpjane. It's not like they're everyday words.
one of the I 4/6 is just like a single item but diff 1st vowel
the other is like a preposition but with a diff last vowel
Hey, I passed halfway. 86 to go.
well, i know they are babblets but i don't think i've ever used them in a sentence!
And we probably never will, Jane.
got one 4
I have 44 left but gotta go take my daughter to youth group, and me to my home group. hope to finish tonight.
don't have a ghost of an idea what it means
i have used "toea" and "naos" in sentences. So there!
My one and on** love--change first vowel.
and I thoght I already entered the tiny waterway
And to enter a room, or go in**. Change last vowel.
Oh dear. Now you're just being smug. Ata, she's on your turf!
Jane, I am so envious!
how dare she! :)
ty ty scrab
Aha, here is the Queen of Smugness herself!
All hail the Queen!
does the fo 7 build off the 5?
either one?
*smug*
Nope. fo7 = homonym for number after three + past tense of to go
Fo7: how one left prior to another.
*bowing at Queen Atalante's feet* I am not worthy, Your HIghness.
Godalmighty. I think I sprained my brain on that clue.
no, I doubt you are *continual smug* :D
Then it was a good clue, Judi.
Awwww. Scrabbler, you're so cute when you genuflect. Perhaps the Queen will show mercy on your wretched soul.
thanks
two left, i still need the pi6/21
maybe. if she's nice ;)
back again no chance of finishing tonight but the programme was worth it :-)
I can only hope that the Queen will spare me any ridicule.
wan't it good!
Hi Kitt
what was it katie?
what were you watching, Katie?
Hubby was watching with me and can't wait till the next one
*gives scrabs a special present of smug particles*
Clue for the ma7, please?
How can I ever thank you enough, Queen. I am forever in your debt.
It was called Survivor about a flu epidemic, very good. It was on the BBC so you might get it on BBC America
make the 5 into an adverb judi
I bet there is a big grid on Tuesday as that is when the next one is on
Tricky! Ty.
I just watched Survivorman--he was in Siberia. Some of the things he eats are gross.
Ooh. I'll have to watch for that. I love a good "end of civilization" flick. Gets me every time.
Survivorman does eat some gross things. He's cute, but I'd think twice before kissing those lips. God only knows what's come in contact with them.

wi
di5 22 please
scrabs, you can earn your smug particles by answering this: what would it be likely to mean if a normally healthy but stressed girl of 24 suddenly had a tonic-clonic fit?
OK CLUE THE PI6/21 OR THE PUPPY GETS IT!
Saw him snare, kill, skin, cook and eat a skunk in one episode. P.U.
um, nevermind, got it!
Another puppy saved.
di5 22 please
....tonic-clonic...???
yo5/22 please
or clonic-tonic. or something like that!
Yo5/22: expression of pain
souns like u,d get the trotzkys(the Russian malady).
noone has di5 22
the boss has insisted i have a unique pic for my icon
Di5/21: di + a very centered state of mind.
I don't think Scrabs wants to keep her smug particles!
di5 is di and *** and the art of motorcycle maintenance, courtesy of someone earlier
wow!
Hi, all
What does one do with smug particles? Just add water?
Judi, today's episode involved him drinking blood from a freshly killed yak, then dissecting it and eating uncooked liver and then an eyeball. Uggghhhhh!
I don,t understand that
I already have that one..yo5/22, not 24 plz
me either oodle. I think mine was more on the drama side of surviving rather than the kill it and eat it reality side :-)
Ata, my first fear would be something existing/growing in the brain that does not belong there; hypoglycemia; ingested toxin....
yes. or preferably add vodka
scrabs, what are you talking about?????
JAY-SUS! They must be paying him a TON of money. Ack ack ack!
I'm sorry I started it!
I think I entered inthe WAY middle of a chog....
a sore spot is sometimes called this an o*** the y sounds like this
Yak snack attack.
hey pam

ty, scrabs. this is another friend! all my friends are ill!
Hi Pam. I watched an episode of Survivorman and he goes to extremes to survive, especially with food/energy.
jacq, carlee
Hi Carlee
Ahhhh, scrabs....
Poor Ata! It is scary!
He could save some for later and make yakaroni and cheese.

sorrrrrrryyyyyy
ty carlee
very insidious, though compound word
lol nice timing
I like your clue pam... straight and to the point no bs

i have to make cheese cake now
see you later, perhaps Wed night if Dr. God is allowing a grid for Thursday...which is Thanksgiving here in the US...and who cares to watch football games when they can Babble!
can someone clue the pi8/9?
I FINALLY gor pi8 and 9 although those are strange words and I didn't want to type them.
Bye Ata
and I think I am going to make fruitcake too... one thing I didn't know about cheese cake is, is that you can freeze it
french word for foot, and what boys build when playing war games
oodle...unless you were educated in AZ you as well as I have, can find all the4 answers you want.....
LOL, pav, there are grids every day--and football is fun while babbling!
Got the pi8/9. Insidious indeed.
pi8 = The Pi** Piper of Hamelin + war castle
merci, jacq!
a bientot
educated in AZ?
why insidious, judi, that's the part that threw me...
Gesundheit, Jacq
merci buckets
jac are you leaving?
Insidious as opposed to not obvious.
not till the Boss says it's bedtime
oh, thanks, judi!
I prefer mercy buttercups myself
oodles...what kind of cheesecake? and yes, you can freeze cheesecake, provided it's sealed we4...I'm off to make a pumpkin cheesecake for a neighbor, and perhaps a pumpkin loaf for later this week...
I'm off to change for dinner. See you kids tomorrow.
Haha, Oodle
well, a bientot is see you soon.... therefore, the confusion 8-)
Bye Judi
i remember when i was younger there were always buttercups verywhere, i haven't sen any for ages
NY cheese cake
Did someone say "fruitcake"?? Oh, the humanity.
i was diving into the grid lol
been making it for 30 years
i like fruitcake... though without pineapple in the dried fruit...
Buttercups grow abundantly in my yard
Blech. Fruitcake is evil. Makes a good doorstop, though.
yes I said fruit cake and it is yummy... the one I make
lol
well pam you wouldn't like mine cause I used all dried fruid and fangelico instead of rum
anyone have a clue for the other z word? i have the zi 4 9. dont know other one.
I'm off to bed now, see you all tomorrow :-)
Bye Kitt. Sleep we4.
night katie
good night katie sweet dreams

oodles...the education here in AZ is the pits, and to be pi6 24...it ranks just above Georgia, not the Republic, or Alabama ...which is so sad...I on the other hand was educated in Michigan...fo7 my scholarships and transferred to UNM in Albuquerque, which makes me an educated lazy bum..! who lo9ves to Babble...
*bourbon...
Can
can
used to didn't like it with the oragne peel but now it is not fruitcake with out it
I am sorry... trouble typing and drinking hot tea...

LOL, pav... didn't realize AZ was so bad, thought FL and AL were the worst...
Oodle..you can kill two birds with one stone and use my recipe for Tutti Fruity CHeesecake, my version of the furitcake only cheesecake style...
hi, mkg and annie
pam, are you feeling any better?
Hi Annie. 67 to go for me. I need to open the list.
cruddy, thanks, annie
oh YUM PAV
Scrabbs! You are snowed in up there..
pam, sorry to hear that..hope it starts to clear up soon
any clues for da7?
No, in fact we were ordered by the fed'l ciurts to spend $ we didn't/don't have to make up for it and then even more to teach English to grade schoolers who's native tongue is SPanish!
and with the words you used that were clues I didn't understand all of what you said pav
thanks, annie!!!
da7 builds from the da5
Pam, what are you sick with?
well first i need da5
the ma5 and 7 are the same as the da
stunned or blinded?
Annie, the huge amounts of snow are just south of me.
like that da7
oh i got da5
sinus infxn with a grossly productive and yucky cough, scrabs....
Scrabbs, glad you are free of the white stuff..
How much is huge, scrabs?
Pam--irrigate those tunnels and caves!
my daughters said they had 2 foot of snow yesterday
it was all gone by this afternoon
pity that oodles...that was one clue....when you give up the chance to do something it is usually foregone...just make this last word the past tense and remove a vowEl connecting the parts for the fo7
I have been, scrabs.... this is my achilles heel....
Annie, we have about 5-6 inches and it was 19-20 degrees for a few days. Just south of me---40 inches last week and one ski resort opened on Thursday.
what do u meen that it builds off of da5
da4, da5 and da7 all follow on from the one before
begins with the da5 word, mo
and the ma4, 5 and 7 are identical
what?
adverb ending mogirl
40 inches of snow...unbelievable
oh i get it
scrabs, I have no pain to speak of, so I think it is slowly resolving on its own. I am loath to see doc--antibiotics are my LASTEST resort!
Where are the 40 inches? What town, scrabs?
as do the wo4, wo6 wo8
ok but you lost me cause i already had that... or were you just commenting on what I was saying earlier... I'm confused now
Irrigations, Echinacea, Pam
I know, scrabs... don't do the echinacea, though. Races me... I do take quercitin... and guaifenesin
is it rude to administer meds to sleeping dogs? they'll still love me, yes?
Could bite you too, PAV.
LOL, yes, they'll still love you, Pav.
di5/12 please?
Joey is loathe to taking his ear drps, now that he's getting better...and I've tried the bribery routine...
pav can you clue me on di5 22 please
it was clued earlier but I didn' tunderstand it
there's twelve in a do5 (not inthe grid) change the fIrst vowil...
di + state of peace = ***, use high scoring tile
di 5/12 is like the part Shelly Long played in Cheers, but change middle vowel
TY, N! When is your surgery?
nrkii!!!!
December 4
I'm starting to calculate how to get out of it... (not seriously, as I know I need to do it)
It will be fine, N, and is much needed.
hi pam! sorry you've got a sinus infection -- I get them 2 or 3 times a year... need to wait till January for my next one though -- can't afford one now
did pav leave?
I use Simply Saline, and Love it.. use it every night even when I'm healthy, and 3 or 4 times a day when I start to feel sick
nope...still lurking...
I used to get them 5-6 times a year... now it's about 2-3....
That is the brand I recommend to parents, N.
ok would you clue di5 22 please pav
my chiro sold me a lovely contraption to clean the nasal passages...haven't used it yet...
and I take Mucinex D every morning (super strength)
He and I both clued it below, Oodle
I take the regular mucinex, only the decongestant when I need it...
I did clue the di5 22...looks like the baker's twelve, wIth a dIfferent fIrst vowel
Scrabbler, the other brands are hideous... my ENT gave me this one to try a couple years ago, and I couldn't believe how much better it was than all the others
where do you find it, nrkii?
Yes, N, I really like the delivery system.
my ENT had me stop allergy medicine and switch to mucinex D, as he said my allergies weren't bad enough to warrant daily meds, but I did need to keep everything "flowing"
Simply Saline is in the drug store, usually in the same aisle as the mucinex
I get mine at CVS
it's a white can with red trim, and has a white nozzle and a clear plastic cap
I stopped taking all 4 FOUR! of my allergy meds in Jan when I had the worst virus ever..and couldn't tell if I was getting better because of the meds...since then I've been much better...
and saved $ as we4
amazing how easy it is to overmedicate these days
still don,t get it
also had a nasal CAT scan which revealed "normal" sinuses on a day when I was congested...
I will look for it, thanks nrkii and scrabs. Seems easier than the neti pot, LOLOL
don't get what oodle?
state of peace throws me
The American Academy of Pediatrics advises against the use of cold/cough/sinus meds.
I was told the same thing by my doc and ENT, nrkii...
*** and the art of motorcycle maintenance
oodle, a d**** eggs, but change first vowel
oodle, "baker's dozen", cheaper by the dozen, etc.,,,not change the first vowel....
the clue for di5 22 that scrab gave
oodle, If you know the movie, The Dirty D****, change the first vowel
ok ty
Help with fo7/44 please?
that was NOW change,,not "not change"...typos galore!
The below clues are better and easier than mine, Oodle.
dont have that fo, scrabbs
fo 7 44 = 4 + finished
minus U
fo7 past tense of foregone..as in conclusions,
ty got it now
TY, N.
oops, tht wa the clue for the fo7 56

pi 6/24 = felt bad for
the pi6 is felt sorry for

TY, N!
She said sonny move out to the country

Okay tyger. Byee.
Hi Kazz - ne5.14 - who was the elephant who packed her trunk and said goodbye to the circus?
I loved that song as a kid and loved the punk version even more as a grown-up.
The punk version, by The Toydo4/5s, spelled if differently, though.
great clue thx Jac!
w/d, Kazz. I was just about to telly you it rhymes with rubber boot.
EEK! I accidentally typed a word with a typing error.
now i'm singing that darn song
HI Jac
Dang I missed a heap of people leaving and entering. Hi everyone i missed
hi herin
Hi Herin and ROFLOL, Kaz.
Herin - I'll be trying out your method for cooking Skippy steaks later. I'll let you know how it works out.
'The head of the herd was calling... far, far away...'
Speaking of which, I saw some amazing film footage on Big Cat Live not long ago.
I haven't cooked skippy before
oh grrrrr lol
The lions had taken a baby elephant, one of two in the herd. The ellies wanted the body back and their distress calls brought elephants from everywhere. Eventually, the lions had to call it a day.
wow.Ellifunts do that. They are amazing creatures
So, you know those scenes in the old Tarzan films with Johnny Weizmuller (or however you spell his surname) where Tarzan calls the elllies? They're true.
Really Herin? You haven't eaten kangaroo?
Heffalumps are amazing creatures, Herin.
I have eating skippy just not cooked it. The buggers are pretty good
I hope Skippy steaks don't taste like Bambi steaks. If they do, I won't like them. Don't like gamey meat.
When I was a kid, visiting a zoo on a school trip back in the 60s, a heffalump stole my apple, but it did say 'thank you' by tickling me with its trunk.
Hope that didn't sound 'rude'. Wasn't meant to!
Jac all i can think of is "off she went with a trompety tromp, tromp tromp tromp" I blame u entirely lol
di6,24?
kia ora all cant stop off out but had to let you know.................. I sign the separation agreement tomorrow

hi all. back for a bit more.

Hi mkg.
hi jac.
mkg
thnx jacula - it seems so obvious now
pi9 is the plural of the pi8 before it. pi** (the piper of Hamelin who led kids and rats) + what soldiers defend from enemies.
Plural for the last bit for the pi9.
what do soldiers defend anyway????????????very difficult question.
Its real meaning is a coin made from a thicker blank than normal.
just read your profile jac - LOL - good point!
Soldiers get everyone into a castle-like place and then try to defend it.
fo4 knox
ty got the words. but still pondering what our soldiers are defending now................it is a tough thing.
Can someone tell me why i keep being distracted
kje - re the garen statue. Yes. It's v. cold out now and Beloved has to keep me from draping a coat around her.
how bout the other 8s? missing two others.
yipes have one 7 and six more to find. ugh.
Herin - nope! It could be a cat, a tv programme, a sexy man, something 'interesting' going on outside. How the heck can we know?
LOLOL jac... I say throw a blanket on her! she does look cold

As is the childish do5 for it.
Barbara Streisand played in "Hello Do***!"
Jilli - I do that, too; forget what the hell the word were.

Holy Cow I have an hour left. I just got back from Disney...

Hi Jilli.
Hi red.
hey Red...did you have fun with Mike, Mickey, and Minnie???
Ooooh, I see, jac! Never heard f them, sorry!
Jilli - go to youtube and ne4/5 the elephant. It's an amusing version of the song.
Yes and No...Space Mountain was scary!
But the firorks show and night parade were wayyyy coool.
oy boy....didn't get sick, did you?
I've never been to Disney but it sounds like hell to me. (That sounds like a song title. LOL.)
Luckily no...the other coasters were fun...
took tons of photos...
PBS showing a programme about Alastair Cooke -- time out for me...
TO be honest Jacula, there were some moments that felt hellish. I enjoyed it, but hard to see why it is so so great, but the charaters were so fun .
See you another time, jilli.
bye Jilli.
The characters were dressed up students.
But, if they were fun, then it was worth it.
yes for the most part, but they are so very good with the children etc...
and the hydroponic gardens were nice. Huge lemons.
Of course students are good with children, they're not past being kids themselves.
Bit of a worry going on in Cheltenham, Glos.,UK, whee my daughter is a uni student now. Locals are randomly beating up students. Only males so far, but one is still in intensive care. No idea WHY this is happening.
that is worrisome....
uh oh
Golly, jac, I went to Cheltenham Ladies College when I was 8
New icon, by the way.. Lawn Ornaments theme
Jilli - Cheltenham has changed since 'our day', as my daughter graphically informed me. I thought she was going to a nice place. However. she still lives 10 mins from me in our nice county just next door.
and my cousin lives in Stow-on-the-Wo4
Garden gnomes can be fun, do't say NO to them, jilli.
just trying to be funny (see text)

he was often depicted in cathedrals throughout Europe as a man composed of plant parts
see, I have my thumb-sucking gargoyle and a laughing buddha but no gnomes -- well, no lawn either, lol
36

hello dear jill -- did you have a lovely day?

MLF - di5/12 = 'eat' + a vowel after the first vowel.
LAST TE 5 please?

I live at the bottomof a hill.
are you saying you are a bit high strung or because of the kids?
Tom says the kids have to get to bed first...
i live in a house
BOTH, ruru! LOL
Jac is the troll at the bottom of the hill???? what??!??!
har har kje
Tom may be patient, but he's only human. N offence intended, stid, since I have no dea what your everyday life consists of.
I was thinking kje lived in a cave myself.
(((Jac))) it's okay, I am reading Tom the chat log, and he thinks it's all very funny...
