Ok these new pics show the real spirit of the Winter Carnival. The first ones were at night and when I took the pics my hands froze because I had to take my gloves off. Then the second time they were taken when we had an early spring and it was a drab day. Today was a beautiful day to take pictures. I wanted to take more but my memory was full and didn't have my glasses so I couldn't delete the ones I have already downloaded to my puter. I will go and take more and maybe even go in the Castle and take inside pics, hopefully but no promises. ENJOY!! UPDATE... I went out today because Sunday was the international judging. I was going to take a picture of the one from France but it was the ugliest I have ever seen from them in fact the ugliest one there. I did get 9 more pics though and maybe more after.
If you are in the region of Quebec city or west in B.C. or Alberta, which would be closer to my mother, please let me know of you have any leads of a job in a hotel as a room server. 6 1/2 yrs exp. Thank you very much.
By request the repice for Caramel.
1 cup sugar
1 cup butter (margarine can be used but personally I don’t think it has the same taste)
1 cup corn syrup
1 can SWEETENED condensed milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
On medium heat, melt until blended the sugar and the butter. Add the syrup slowly until blended. Add the condensed milk in a thin steady stream until blended. Stirring constantly until the mixture has come to 245-7 degrees using a candy thermometer. Pour into a 9 X 9 inch pan and let cool. ENJOY!
