Well I had just bleached the shower before having one and I turned around and Pandora decided to investigate the inner bit. I had to wash her paws and her poo butt
anythink suitable for email, dart
I think I called that, sorry all, meant ca7 I guess

*anything
I'd say Pandora inflicted that on herself
hmm, any 8s found yet?
phant tarmac and amtrac

HI jill
going quickly today, 13 left
nbt
ty jill
can't see that fa 6-7
hi mlf
Hi Eric. Yep. I bath her every couple of months but if she has a poo butt I wipe it as she has a very gross habit of sitting in the shower then wiping it on the carpet
hi flosey
It's Erica. It's pretty unpleasant. I feel your pain.
cyber i am not finding it either
HI Erica. Sorry about my typo.
ES 6
What colour is your kitty?
She's a Maine Coon. Her name's Turbo. Yours?
nbt
awww Maines are sooooo cute. The black one as my icon is Lucius and the white one is Pandora
wtg nan -- I just need the Z
Cute!
AR 6
afes
Z's locked in a corner, not many viable tries
Both rescues both with issues
A face for youtube. "scuse the prior post.
Lot like her owner
MA 6/7 x 2
5/7 x2 you mean?
I hear that. Turbo lived a rough life before we took her in.
yeah that grem
Did you say there was an Fa 8?
NBT
yes herin
Poor meou
I am such a dick I was looking at the bottom not the top
wtg jilli
Erica -- do you want your flag etc?
She's snoozing next to me now. Good kid.
AS 6
Pandora is on her pillow Lu is is hiding

Erica, go to your My Account and check the little square, upper right, where it says Show Profile :)

yw, erica
I just changed my icon to my brats
tis
not
how long does it usually take jilli? been waiting for at least 10 mins so far
I don't know, dart!
close enough to phantom marzipan?
clue 1 (kl) n. Something that serves to guide or direct in the solution of a problem or mystery
Hi everyone - just popping in for half an hour
dont make me hungry grem lol
NBT
sorry about that, dart -- I thought it was supposed to be almost right away. Don't let it spoil your game.
ata i know what it means:)
well obviously you don't lol
Not asking for an actual CLUE liek definition or words just an area not the same thing ata
np just thought by the way they worded the website ...it would be a minute or two
ohhhh. I see. *facepalm*
Sart it is a large fine
buggered that up. Dart it is a large file. Let me try to do it from my end
down to 50 words
down to final 4
including two pesky four letter words somewhere
missing z yet tho lol
3 left: two Ms and an F
Hello Everyone. Late Flip.
ma 4,6?
yay !!
Hi west
grem did you say there were 3 ch 6s?
got the F, just an m5 and an m6 remain
yes gee
hi herin, is it any cooler now?
k
dart, I just looked at the resizing site and you could choose 600 pixels as the maximum -- what did you choose?
hmm...pretty sure it has to be ma for both of them
Dart : http://tinyurl.com/y8w5lkq here is your kitty resized. Just copy the URL when you update your profile
finally -- found the fa 7
only ma6 remains
ma 8 -- has the other been called?
picked what they already had set up 350 pixels
fa8
cyber?
ty grem -- that was a new one
Dart. All you need to do is copy the Tinyurl link then put that URL in your file update in babble profile
dart - the z is imminently guessable
does anyone have ma6 yet? don't need a clue, just wondering
because it's the least likely josh?
if you start guessing i bet you find it before you get frustrated
now where is that other 8
keyword being "guessing"
thanks herin...see if i can put it in now
grem i i dont
wondering if it's a hard one
I think there should be an ar 8, but apparently it's not a word!
nan: something you'd wear on an appendage? :)
i thought it might be a AR 7 but that doesnt work either
There is an ma 6 -- Yiddish-Hebrew word
jill?
Dart I had to add your kitty pic to my facebook photos it was the fast way to do it
hmmm..now showing the pic i was trying to put in before...doesnt like the format of the shrunken one
ty ARB, fireworks
It should be smaller
well done gremlinn
YAY gremlinn
hi guys! Great job, gremlinn!!!!
yay grem !!
worked for me Dart
ty
YAY gremlinn!!!
thanks for the list yesterday I would never have finished grem
I'd have found that Hebrew word quicker if it'd been the Z-variant spelling
Ok try this: http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos- ak-snc3/hs151.snc3/17859_278452903378_ 741103378_3429039_99212_n.jpg copy all this then put in the URL section deleting the HTMl bit
wiat
Dart, I used to have a different resizing link but accidentally deleted a whole lot from my profile and now I can't find it.
Clues in my profile like yesterday
oopsee!
I thought so but thought it was only spelled with a z. Thanks whoever gave grem the clue.
thanks a million, grem!
thanks again grem
A common word in Israel!
good to have you around, heh
pretty common here too ARB
it's funny...the huge pic said it wouldn't go in...i was still seeing the older one, while ev1 else was seeing it...then when i try to put in the smaller one..it won't take but now i see the huge one lol
have you refreshed
Dart are you on Facebook?
I'm seeing the biggie
whoa, that is big
http://tinyurl.com/y8w5lkq here is Darts itty bitty kitty resized
she's so adorable
It's such a pretty picture!
went to find a diff pic...maybe this one is better
good one dart
that IS better, dart -- but I want to find a better resizing site
think the other was a flash automatic pic..and this one was a diff setting no flash
awww Dart that is so cute.
sath
opps
tried to put something near her to show how tiny she is
utterly tiny!
early start tomorrow, so will toddle off with 27 to go
I remember when Pandora was found she fit in my hand and was about 5 weeks old
goodnight nan
bye for now nan
well done, nan!
Bye Nan
yes, very
she is gorgeous dart
she fits easily into my hand and could prob. fit in my shoe too lol
hi Katie
I then had to wait until she was about 6 months old and could come live with me
thx hi katie
hi katie
hi everyone, flying visit I should be leaving for work rather than sitting in my dressing gown playing babble
oh herin, did you visit her often?
No. She was owned by a very bad human that didn't feed her properly nor change her dirt box properly and kept her in a caravan. We got her when she was not cute anymore
why so long herin?
I'm so glad you rescued her
oh, how horrible, glad you were able to get her
And why isn't Archy in the dictionary, as in "Archy and Mehitabel?"
It was us or the pound. We spent about $500 on getting her desexed and vacinated.
phant eparchy though
fa7
hey ruru
Yer shes not cute. That is why the b.f and I just awwwed isn't she cute when she did the upside down bunny look
Ru cute puppy
hi d-man
cute lil kitty
thx ruru

i'm off to work, see you all later *poof*
Later Katie
well, hello Douglas!
bye katie have a nice ride
Hi Douglas too. were did Ata go
hi, all, been lurking a bit - what was the count on the Z?
and hi rururururu and dylan
Hello jilli!
hi jilli..
hello rbud -- gremlin has a list in his profile
haven't seen you in a long time Douglas
I'm here!
it's za4/12
There you are
ty!
ty jilli
Hello flosey, it's an interesting story. I found a computer next to someone's garbage can recently
though I do have to go and wake husband up - brb
pretty icon, rbud -- see mine for what a fractal is
Hi Rbud
what was the second 8?
I got distracted by cute kitty
good one jilli
I checked yours already, jilli, and now I know, lol! Hi, herin!
phantom: fiasco
ma 8, fa 8 - right? (have neither)
yeah
I love Queen Anne's Lace it's so delicate
The ma8 isn't marzipan, is it?
thank you
nope, called that one earlier
no, douglas
well I got the f
Well, I want it to be!
Now, now, Douglas. Behave.
Or you won't get dessert.
and the dessert has marzipan in the centre
My wanting it to be and $3.50 will buy me a latte at Starbucks, yes?
I got the m too !!
Staryuks. shudder
wtg west
For $5, I might be able to slip a word or two in the dictionary for you.
lol thanks flosey I usually don't get the long words right away
nj, west
I don't have either of the 8s
neither is common
thanks grem I just got the z too thought it was a joke
not seeing the ma 8 ..
ma8 may be related to a word meaning a female marquis
I believe it's Italian ruru
ru, Add a vowel to the end of the ma/7
thanks
They told him don't you ever come around here Don't wanna see your face, you better disappear The fire's in their eyes and their words are really clear So beat it, just beat it
it's such a pretty sounding word
I see the word for breasts in Italian are in the grid
the ma8 I have has nothing to do with dessert
sc5 reminded me of that song
urf. bloody annoying man. Am going to go and walk the dog to es6!
... she was heaving her chesta...
finally found it
ru, yould WOULD know the Italian word for breasts, lol!
jilli...resized pic finally came thru...this is it now
oh, "chesta"? I was just looking at those phantom "mammaries"
wow, dart, that took a looooong time!
phantom mammaries are called falsies gremlin
I shouldn't encourage you but lol
time stamped an hour ago
*giggle*
Hi everyone, can't sleep.
hi brookie
you could say maamaries grem
hi brook
Hi jilli, westford!
well, dart, it was a big reduction
Hi Brooke
that's a little closer, dart, but I want my mammaries!
hi herin!
the pic or what ruru was talking about? lol
Hello everyone
hi lynxxx!
Hello Lyn
the pic, dart, lol!
hi lynxxx
what ruru was talking about dart..would never lol at your darling kitten
hi lyn
hi west lynxxx
I'm getting confused and nowhere
phant tarmac
I remember Scotty saying "We can waddle about like a garbage sc4 on impulse!"
mex. city tampico is there too
Hello Douglas!
Hello lynxxx!
HI Lynx
nice to have you back douglas.. where have you been?
and Infernal! you back at school yet?
I'm finding this grid to be reasonably agreeable, but what, pray, is the z word?
I have some news my son who is a big Hyundai fan ( he and his wife both have one ) has been part of a think tank on-line and he just found out Hyundai is flying him out to SD to test drive the 2011 Sonata
za 4,12
z + doggie sounds
Glad to be back ruru, was computerless for a while
wow west, how exciting
oh
Oh west, how exciting!
not sure what/where SD is but sounds good West!
thought you used to go to the chatterbox on cleveland ave
san diego, i imagine
SD would be San Diego, south of LA
or san demus
yeah, I would guess it's not South Dakota.
it is flosie Beth won't be going with him not enough time to give notice at work but he'll be able to see Wendy and Tom while he's out there
good thing it is san diego
or south dakota
could be south dakota
they're putting him up at the Torrey Pines Lodge
so, west, an added bonus
they can't spell hyundai in South Dakota
San Diego has more people than South Dakota.
oh dear I don't think he'd like to go to South Dakota now
Lodge @ Torrey Pines west
they prob spell it in spanish in san diego
I did, but the Chatterbox only had wifi, not a computer, so when my computer died, the internet became harder to get to, especially at Prime Babble time
I see ruru I know they're particular in that part of San Diego lol
sure dart they are called chundai s there
We had a very early Hyundai hatchback, when everyone thought they were rubbish -- we liked it fine
lolol
you can get hyundais in crackerjack boxes
they have come a long way
i'll prob see the chatterbox after the gaelic storm concert in st paul in march
stop it ruru we had this conversation before lol
Where is the concert, dart?
o'shaunessy.sp?
gaelic storm? they put on the best show
we went on that music cruise one year ago today...had great big sea and gaelic storm...now driving to chicago to see great big sea in march...then gae.lic storm here later in the month
I can never spell it right either, but I know what you mean
on campus of st. kate's
wow was that really a year ago?
O come on Ralf is a word
it's "rolf"
or "ralph"
feb1-6 2009
no it's ralf as in raaaaalf
I think herin means what you say to the toilet when you've had too much to drink
That is the one West
lol
(ralph)
that's rolf I think
hmm, rolf means something different
nope is ralf
sounds very British
rolf is big in Berkeley
left column grey <giggle>
rolfing is like massage
only harder
rolf - def is to vomit here
yay jilli!
ralph means vomit too
Just talking to the b.f about the joys of cooking and opening a new jar of tomato paste and it was green under the lid not good
isn't rold a kind of severe massage too?
oh no herin throw it out
*rolf, I mean
If preempt is a word, why isn't empt a word?
good question
(think you mean "rolled" jilli..lol)
good question, douglas
why isn't tzel?
I just now realized that Douglas is Doug
I'm slow
if disgruntled is a word..how come gruntled isn't
gruntled actually is a word, meaning contented
all good questions
isn't it?
If I can realize something, why can't I alize it?
In Oakland it is datgruntled
how about shevelled?
gruntled doesn't sound like a word for content or happy!
hapless is without hap?
as in I shevelled my walk?
true, lynxxx
he shevelled up and shrank away?
my walk needs you help westford.
no, west
I went to school with a guy named Hap I miss him
you see him less now?
maybe it's hevelled
I do ruru I'm hapless
the haps and haps not
be right over mixi
There seems to be some disagreement on gruntled. Cecil Adams sez "Gruntle" is an old dialect word meaning "to grumble." So "disgruntled" means you're really grumbling.
his name was Harold
I still have several inches of that white stuff on my walk. Thanks Westford.
doug, wouldn't it mean NOT grumbling?
sends Keith Richards over to mix's house
my father's name was harold
OTOH, Merriam Webster defines gruntle as : to put in a good humor <were gruntled with a good meal and good conversation — W. P. Webb>
harold rocks?
Thanks for the help westford and ruru. - Mixi
Normally, Cecil Adams is an unimpeachable source on these kind of things, but I'm going to have to go with Merriam-Webster
me too, doug
*these kinds of things*
I don't think I've ever heard the word without dis
disturbing
I haven't turbed in a long time
lol
lol
turbing isn't good for you anyway
then there should be a tur-ban?
but my Oxford says "to grumble, murmur, complain."
tur-ban banter?
murmur? is like gruntling?
That's the same meaning Cecil Adams referenced
Cecil must have consulted Oxford.
and the Dic here says a pigs grunt
phant mascara
phant ramparts
50 left. first column gray. NBT. Going to bed. Bye, bye.
poof
bye Mixi
night mixi
bye mixi leave the light on so I won't trip when I get there
light is always on.
don't trip over keith west
I won't but I might be scared lol
fireworks
yay dart
yay dart !!
YAY dart!!!
Congrats Dart!
have you decided to name the kitten Sasha?
Hooray dart!
NBT
yes west...that will stick now
wtg Douglas
it fits her
wtg doug
nice name, dart
I would call her "itty"
"itty-bitty lil kitty"
last one was natasha....this is second kitty...not that we named her this way but second to natasha could be shortened to sasha....we picked the name before i figured that out lol
she may not stay itty-bitty
Sasha is actually a nick name for Alexandra
missing one p
have you checked the pod?
The next time I'm hungry in the Andes, I'll remember this day when I found the wood sorrel cultivated for its edible tumors
Or Alexander
found a pic from last cat...but will have to shrink
tumors or tubers?
doug that reminded me of that movie about the ski team
dart, shrink to 600 and see if it doesn't take so long
Oh, yeah, tubers
distubers?
can't remember what it was called
night guys.. 13 left for tomorrow.
well done, ruru
gn ruru hugs to dylan
At halfway and NBT, declaring moral victory and hoping you all get what you deserve. No, wait, that didn't come out right, wishing you goodness, success and happiness. Good night all.
hopefully this one is the other cat...natasha 6-97 to 10-6-2008
night doug -- wtg and ty
goodnight Douglas, see you again soon
good night doug nice to see you again
interesting markings, dart!
Night Douglas - was good to see you again
it worked dart she's a great looking cat
she was a great cat...but was pretty sick during the summer of 08
bottom row grey <big achievement!>
awww, what ailed her?
yay jilli
I can't get the all the left e's have 2 need 2
e + agreement (i.e. warsaw)
thanks jilli that's 3
had hypothyroid....we were giving her a few medicines everydays...then she decided not to eat anything..was pretty horrible the last month or so
do yoou have e + agreement & pl?
didn't have the plural thanks
left row greyed !!
oh that first thank you was for josh..ty josh
tried feeding her anything towards the end...she ate some baby food. but not anything else and wa slowly wasting awat to nothing
How sad Dart. You wonder in hind sight if you do the right thing by beloved pets
can't type all of a sudden lol
they seem to know when it's time to go don't they?
They do, we don't always pick up on it.
we almost think if we had to do it over again... maybe we wouldn't have done the medicine route....think that caused her not to eat....she would have had a better life for longer without I think
yes, and we don't want them to :(
it would probably have affected her heart and she would have gone faster
hypo or hyper, dart? Most cats (including my Susie) get hyper
not sure of the spelling...they gave her a blood test and said she was borderline.....we were trying to nip it before it progressed
just went over halfway :)
gj jilli !!
it's called Graves' Disease in humans dart
not sure if it's called that in cats too
had to give her prednisolone (a pink syrup) and crush up a half pill into something else...she would hear us open the med. bottle and run the other way
they are so smart
thhen try to get rid of the stuff we gave her by not swallowing etc
Susie's meds came in the form of little chewy treats which she really liked :)
that makes so much more sense jilli
BBL dinner is here
we've tried crushing pills and mixing it with food and somehow the food is gone and the fragments of pill remain
There was another kind I was told about but didn't need -- a sort of ointment you put behind their ears so that they would get it on their paws and lick it off
she had a nasal feeding tube in for a little while to build up her weight...before it got bad...but had to have a thing on her head so she wouldn't pull out the tube...she hated it and so did we
oh, that does sound rather extreme, dart!
oh dart poor her and poor you
our old Jenny is mostly skin and bones but she's happy so we've told the vet no extreme measures
laaaate flip
she's still the queen here keeps the other 2 in line
that was the summer we lost my wifes parents....we were at an out of state funeral for a week and left her at the vet hospital (before it went bad)...the had problems..tried to call us during the funeral..didnt get an answer and put the tube in...we read the fine print later and it said they would call first...but if they couldn't get a hold of us they would do what they had to do
hi freep
hi freep
it couldn't be helped, dart
what a shame
how did Sasha come into your lives? was she a foundling?
As annihilated
I want aspic
I've been ready for another one for a while now...my wife finally said she was too....went looking thru the humane societies and the rescue centers the last few weeks....found her on saturday at the last hope center nearby
you'll just have to do without, west
I'm so glad you gave her a home it will be a good thing for all of you
lucky little sweetie, dart
my wife has to travel for work mon thru wed...already doesn't wan't to leave her :)
our dog's a rescue
didn't make a peep for the first week. some days I wish that were still the case :-)
awww, dart
we do not have kids...so she is our kid :)
freep how old was he/she ?
she was 1-2 when we got her. no one knows. and that was 18 months ago
our animals are our 'kids' too wish we could claim them on our tax form lol
freep -- any particular breed?
she must have been house trained so that was a plus
How many words today please
145 gran
she's probably a papschund - papillon ears and face. long haired dachsund coloring? maybe?
145
145 and hi gran
Thanks
she sounds adorable
is she long like a dachsie?
she did well in the "cute" department. musta been standing near the front of the line.
my cousin Vinnie ( really ) had the best dog half german shepherd and half basset funniest thing you've ever seen
his name was Orpheus
oh my!
no, jilli, not terribly. papillonish body
looked just like the shepherd with a long body and short legs
gonna hit the hay...nite jilli west justa all
sounds lovely, freep!
night dart, and snuggles for sasha ;)
good night dart give the kitten a gentle hug
thx jilli west :)
poooof
I need to switch loads I'll see you when I get back ..and if you're gone have a lovely sleep
bye west -- don't you ever go to bed?
24 for tomorrow, off to bed, goodnight all
gj flosey -- I won't be at bridge -- ArtSpring concert
oh yes, I heard your p was looking for someone
will miss you jilli, but enjoy the concert
hope she found someone!
well, Joanne E. always wants to play, I think she could hold her own with I.
Oh, that would be worth watching!
but Joanne was/is a lawyer so should be quite use to standing her ground
I hope it happens and you can report ;)
will do
gn now
night flosey -- I'll be going soon
well well well! I've got all the 7s!
and 8s!
i'm going to bed, too. and I'm 8-less!
top row grey, and I'm going to bed too -- g'night freep and anyone else who's here or lurking
snuck in a few more, so now all borders grey -- goodnight! *poof*
hello everybody but back in a minute
Clues are up
hello lickey, never met you before
praise be and blessings on your noble head lickety
Thankyou Lickety, happy 2010!
hello gort
hiya lynxx
hi Gort & Ruby
the australian contingent arrives....
hey ruby; lickety is the st bernard of the babble world - just when you think it's all over and you're about to succumb to blank misery, he trots up with something life-giving
hey lynx
How are you Gort, you have been MIA for a while
I've tried, but I can't seem to get the clues on my screen at the same time as my words, so I'm trapezing without a net!
still waiting for my big op but i have been travelling with work and holidays and wot-not, how bout u?
gonna have to restart - lickety won't refresh, see you in a mo
Nothing much happens with me - it's wonderful!. Big Op?
Ruby - have you emailed Lickety for a copy of Expert? Using that may solve your problem
i can't imagine a peaceful life...they're taking my dodgy ol' uterus out and hopefully replacing it with something nice and useful like...ohh, let me see...a snow-cone machine
aha.1 I'll have to do that!
good luck with that, gort, and btw, I love the chinglish sign!!!
thanks ruby
mmm 6 weeks holiday at least. Sounds like you could do with some bed rest. Don't hurry back to work!
work is very nice and flexible with me, it's the kiddies that aren't!
can you play babble in bed? the best of both worlds!
absolutely ruby!
kiddies...yours? how old are they
i also have uncommonly nice friends who are already making me stashes of dinners in preparation
and no cooking! yay for no cooking!
i have a 4yo and a 7yo; they also do not know the meaning of a peaceful life
you've heard of puppy uppers and doggie downers.....
i haven't - are they some kind of canine sedative that you can give to kids?
no sugar for them for the duration....plenty of warm milk and puddings to make them sleepy
I am sure the 7yo can be cajoled into being a good 4yo lookerafterer
lol, right on ruby, you should right raising kiddies manuals
write
I was being facetious, but I had a friend who was prescribed paregoric for her babies (she had 2 under 2) and she used to take it so she didn't care! lol
of course she won the lifetime mother-of-the-year award!
shame; someone should turn that you tube video into reality - Kid-be-stoned with special prodding stick to test for vitals
I nursed my son for 8 months and, in those days, nobody said not to, so I used to drink a pint of Guinness (to make milk) and he slept through the night at one week!!
LOL, atta-girl ruby, you did yourself, your son and the universe a favour!
he grew up all right even barely drinks, so I guess it didn't hurt him
mmm...guinness... it's like mother's milk to me
me, too, still.....
with the goodness of 3 kinds of alcohol and vitamin black, you can't go wrong
for sure
are you still with us lynx?
my chat put her to sleep!
boring ruby
was all that warm milk and pudding and guinness
yep, half watching the box and staring fruitlessly at the grid
lol
any ideas for the z?
what's on the box tonight?
z + woof
american woof
how do you say that in French?
ty!
wieuff
ooph!!
watching the Steven Fry show on his, and others, bipolar etc
oh yes, that's re?ally interesting, isn't it
imagine i put that ? at the end of the thought
in australia, are they big fans of psychotropic drugs, like here?
It is, a good insight
hi there Babblers
my md even writes scrips for them for my dog!
hey lore
I believe so Ruby
hello lore
Lore!
i think we just prescribe guinness here ruby
got some leave so might see me sometimes
I give my autistic dog prozac and it helps him a lot
Hi there Lynxxx ans Stewart
that might work for him, too
LOL, you have an autistic dog?!
how can you tell?
That WILL be nice. How have you been keeping Lore?
need to sleep for a week which I have nearly done and do some chilling contemplating new horizons lynxxx
since we got him, at 4 months, he was exceedingly timid, wouldn't make eye contact, was afraid of his bowl, and didn't want to be touched. I diagnosed him and read a book on autism by Temple Grandin, and she suggest Prozac for people. It really helps him
good golly
dives into grid its been so long hope i remember how to babble lol
Lore -oh?! I was just going to say you must have been doing that job for at least a year now. Moving out of that profession?
now he makes soulful eye contact, lets me pet him, is a nice part of the household but, unfortunately, is still afraid of his bowl and I have to hand-feed him. dopey me!
so you love him unconditionally?
yes, and since we have two chows (ruby is the one in my icon), the female helps care for him, opens doors for him etc.
his is big and black, Max
I don't know why, but I'm partial to grids with c's in them
fair enough - partial to pyschotic pooches and grids with cs; there's no accounting for taste, said the old lady as she kissed the donkey
sounds like the punchline for a great joke!
there was really no choice with Max; if we had sent him back to the Canadian breeder, she would have put him down.
and he is endlessly gentle and sweet
i once had a dopey dalmation who tried to eat a hedgehog
picking stickers out for a week?
and even tho the spines were poking thru his cheeks painfully, Punch the Daft Pooch refused to relinquish his spikey meal
he went on to have a dramatic but ignoble future eating the neighbour's pedigree cats
I like dopey dogs, wouldn't want to have one who was too smart and tried to run the house
sounds like a great dog!
and finally coming to an untimely but wryly humorous death plunging over a cliff after a seabird
oh my!
he was an awesome idiot of a dog who lived (and died) for the chase
I shouldn't laugh - idiot dog! sounds like Oscar, an equally silly lab of a Babbler in the UK
he loved to nibble on fluffly little kittens and got his jollies terrorising squirrels
I used to have a cat who tried to hunt birds from behind the glass doors and would repeatedly plan to leap and then crash into the glass. Did I say repeatedly? lol
he tested the boundaries of unconditional love (but he didn't find them...aww)
Lol ruby
imagine life without cats and dogs....bleak indeed!
yes you should laugh lynx, i do, otherwise how can i live with being in the only family whose dog committed suicide?
salut ruby
hi gort
I once cat-sat a Siamese who committed suicide chasing a pigeon from the 9th floor apartment window!
hey oodle
bonjour oodle
we are talking about animal-suicides
ahh, thank you ruby, i feel better now
she also used to lurk above doorways and jump on our heads - charming!
is the fa7 compound?
um don't know if you are making these up or are they real... don't seem to be those aminals were really stupid
they just lose their minds with the thrill of the hunt!
i could never make up anything as daft as Punch the Pooch
no Gort, latin plural of the fa6.30
ook, thanks lyn, is the fa6 a normal word?
wow thanks, another look at that lead to an 8!
fa6 its the board under gutters I think
ty lynxx, got the 6 but can't imagine the plural - no latin here - and an 8??
mmm...something like eaves that starts with fa...mmm
latin plurals, usually a , sometimes e or i
fa**** board
the 8 ends with past tense of consumed
ty ty lynx
fa & ****tic nerve = pain in thigh
thanks lyn, got em
going back to bed
bye Oodle
would make more sense to me if there was an n in the middle of it, but what the hey
nighty night oodle
gd night, oodle, hope the dog and cat suicides didn't depress you!
I got the 6 and the 8 but can't figure out the plural, I'll keep trying
add 2nd vowel to the 7 ruby
just got it, ty gort
just needed to look in a diff direction!
this is the best game I've had, with a little help from my firends, of course.....
now I have to make lunch for dh! see you later (or tomorrow, lynxx and gort! It was a pleasure chatting with you gort.
you too ruby, i'll go to bed wary of suddenly descending felines because of you :)
but at least he bought me two hiacinths this AM!
dh, lol, so many possibilities. Bye Ruby
how soon is your surgery, gort?
but did he buy you passionfruit Ruby?
march 15, so i've got a lotta hanging about to do til then
bye lynxx, my favorite clue-resource!
still waiting for that.....
passionfruit and hyacinths? that's what today's french husband buys?
american!
it is a joke around here because one of my names is nelliekelley....
Ruby - who's email addy is nelliekelly - has never has a paaionfruit!
ahh, it's all becoming clearer now
emerging from the lake-effect fog!
bye
toodle pip
I really must get a new keypad!
i once freaked my high school history teacher out with a passionfruit...
do tell
while it was still on the vine, i scratched "hi Ted" into it's skin...
months later, he thought a miracle had occurred when he plucked a personalised passionfruit with his name in passion-flesh
and it grows and scars over?
that's exactly what it does lynx
I'll try that when my baby vive gets big enough
vine
i had to fess up before he started a new passionfruit-worshipping religion
do you have a signature passionfruit dish?
oh yes, cut in half, with teaspoon scoop out flesh and tip onto vanilla ice-cream, then eat. Does that count?
lol, yup, that counts
My mother used to make neenish (?spelling) tarts with passionfruit icing on top - but she has passed and no-one has the recipe!
all right lynx, been a pleasure chatting to you, but i gotta go now
nighty night
Night Gort. Sleep tight
GNight gort cya again
neenish tarts used to make them about 30 yrs ago but used lemon never tried p/fruit
with evaporated milk?
actually the passionfruit wasn't in the icing but in the filling (just remembered)
yep I think so Lynxxx i remember cause i loved the tarty taste of the filling the ones you buy here are nothing like the originals
i did not ice mine just the filling have to look that one up and let you know
I should/will look online for a recipe too...but thanks if you can find yours

I'm off too. Bye Lore, hope to see you tomorrow

Too far north for that.

oooh, thanks for the saddle one, hurshy! and ouch
half a dance + 6th greek letter.

hurshy, in case I forget to say it later, you ROCK at cluing
now i just need an A4 and an A6. i have golden ar6, what's the other one?
thanks trif
well, let's see - I suck at cluing, so..... as6 - think of the sky
or a cosmic plane, to be more precise
ah, thanks.
i knew the torture of watching charmed would find its purpose one day.
I have only seen many, many of the last ten minutes of charmed, as it is on before ER re-reruns here
it was a very stupid show. yet i had to find out what happened, so i kept watching.
dratted little A4, where ARE you?
we all have stupid little show
hurshy, it is what people do on stage
no, i have that one.
or what you say to the captain on board
do you have the ay4?

gmta
thanks!!!
sounds like a made-up alien word, eh? LOL
klingon maybe?
the fa4 always makes me think of fawlty towers....remember how they used to change the sign each episode? once it said "fa4y towels" and, when I was a kiddo, that sent us into spasms
I looked it up...a holder for a coffee cup without a handle in the Levant
didn't watch it, trif -- sorry
hmmm
I am more the sorry for you, une. just about the best show EVER
that def was for the za4
aha -- here's a pic: http://www.deberken.nl/images/zarf.jpg
oops, guess that zaps me to pb!
anyone want a za4 of coffee?
but trif, I was totally addicted to Monty Python -- does that count? :-)
hmmm. I was expecting something much more metal and ornamental, like a turkish kind of thing....but hey.
oui, bien sur, une
btw, secondo got a nice big A in French this term. huzzah!
yay for secondo
here ya go, trif: http://tinyurl.com/yajxobg
I suppose I should have said "sympa!" or something like that....
kudos to secondo!!
:-D
yup. thank une. I want to go get coffee off some roach coach now SO badly, and make a point of asking the guy for a za4.....that should be good for a larf
teehee
I know this makes me sound like SUCH a word nerd, but I really, really like knowing the right names for things like that.
ok, off to nuke some coffee!!
put it in a za4!
just ask for a large za4, no sugar
LOLOL
today's the Big Thaw -- pups can wait to pee on something they can smell!
annie, if you order "coffee regular" near you, what do you get?
ok, coffee well nuked
milk and sugar
just one sugar?
usually 2 spoonfuls
I had this discussion over the weekend with some folks at church, who moved to boston recently and were so surprised to find that "coffee regular" changes in different regions of the country.
were you ladies here when i announced that our soup kitchen donations from Whole Foods are really going upscale?
Yes, I think milk 2 sugars is the custom in boston, as well.
no, but wow, une!
Friday I picked up the usual bags of bread . . . plus swiss chard and raspberries!!!
No, Une I was not. That is great
pinkies out at the soup kitchen!!!
it definitely pays to befriend Tyrone in produce :-)
Whole Foods has the greatest dinner rolls.
indeed, trif!
Whole Foods has great bread, period -- esp. when it's free!!
btw, annie, I am learning to make bagels. they will never compete with NYC bagels, but it is fun. I hear it is the water in NYC that makes the bagels so amazing
NYC water is delicious
what a wonderful blessing it must be to offer fresh fruits and the chard to the folks at the soup kitchen.
if i lived there I would never buy bottled water
"They" say it is the water.
it is, trif, it is!!
Tyrone had a huge box of grapes for me but his supervisor came by and made snarky comments about "you're not supposed to give it away if we could still sell it"
Fresh fruit in a soup kitchen is a blesssing, I agree. God bless Whole Foods.
but we'll get around that, I'm sure!
our youth group at church did an amazing weekend food experience thing, and one of the things they did was to have to go shopping with the same amount of money that a family on public assistance receives. ALL the kids noticed that fresh anything was just not in that budget. prepared, dried, easy fix....
Annie, what the produce guys have told me is basically "first come first served' -- so Friday I was there at 7:00am!!
that's so true, trif -- and really sade
*or sad!
Une, You are wonderful. Everything you do is with a full heart.
far from it, Annie -- but it's very fulfilling to see this Whole Foods relationship developing
and it all started when one of my daughter's friends struck up a conversation with the lady in charge of their bakery
ya never know
Une, Make Tyrone your bestest friend..he will be blessed too.
une, there was a great interview on NPR this weekend about people like Tyrone and the bakery lady, who are sort of a new underground movement helping others in an outside the box fashion.
Une, do you know what they do with the soups that are left? Do they donate the soups?
don't know about their execs, but my experience is that the people "on the floor" in the various depts are really HAPPY to help feed the hungry!
hold on, let me see if I can find a link for you...brb
oohhh, tx, Trif, I'll look that up
annie, don't know re prepared foods but I've had my eye on the "hot bars" from Day One . . . we shall see!
and David the egg guy gave me 3 dozen eggs -- plan on hitting him up for more! LOL
hardboiled eggs are VERY popular
and lots of protein..do the same people frequent the soup kitchen every day?
In this weather a hot meal can save a life.
mostly yes, but of course it's seasonal too -- some difference in the summer when lots of guys come here for summer construction work
Annie, our program director now has such a personal connection to a lot of these guys, it's pretty funny when she's riding downtown with friends to attend shows at the performing arts center -- and there are often homeless guys waving and smiling at the street corners! LOL
une, I can't find it to save my life, but I am still looking...
It must be gratifying to her to be acknowledged by people you have helped.
it is, Annie -- and she's just such a cool person . . .
very down to earth -
ok, gotta go -- wonderful chatting -- BBL :-) *poof*
Une, I found it! Geesh, had to dig....http://marketplace.publicradio. org/display/web/2010/01/29/mm-dodson/
ooohhh, thanks so much, trif!!!!
bye Une...keep smiling at Tyrone
okay, need to drop tertiare off - she got a little lie in this morning....mondays are VERY hard when you are 10....lol
bye Une and Trif
ooh, fireworks
already? ... Hi everyone
Hi Sir Oodle
hi miss annie
why are you already finished?
not fair
There were a few "nasties" but otherwise pretty straight words.
the "ch" is used a lot in the middlle of words
good day all
I mentioned it before about my friend who was mugged and thrown to the ground and her knee was broken. She is now in a Rehab center and I am going to bring her some clothing now. See you all later, bye dear babblers. (Hi Sprite)
I hope she will recover inside and out, Annie
darn, of course she will. I meant soon.
sprite, I know what you meant and I appreciate it and will tell her.
bbye annie
*Poof
loving the 'es' combination today!
glad to see you happy, happydan
the biggies may elude me so far, but this is one of the fa4est grids ever.
morning all, help with the z word pls
Hello, peeeeeples
morning periwinkle
hey there BR
heeeeey BabbleRabble, happy to see you.
rhymes with what you would put around your neck, peri
etch
oops
good, but not starting with z, peri
hi BR
ty sprite, new word for me
;)
my nephews apt building was on fire on Sat. 2/3 of the building destroyed. he and his wife are fine. need to get whatever they can out of the apt today
how awful, peri, but thank God they are both alright.
they left with just the clothes on their back :(
hello everybody
hi rubyfoo
hi sprite, hi peri, hi again oodle
hi ruby
got through 86 words this am and hit the wall, but I love this grid!
and I had a lot of help with the fa's
yes it is a nice one
for some reason, I like the c's
"In vain are all your flatteries, In vain are all your knaveries, Delights, deceits, procacities, Sighs, kisses, and conspiracies. And whate'er is done by Art, To bewitch a Lover's heart." - Robert Burton, The Anatomy of Melancholy (1624)
thank you, BR, our day is definitely uplifted!
for nbt before work, I would love a clue for the top row A,...and also an O clue. ;-)
grin
hi jbp
and hi;-)
oc4 and ow4
aye 4/6

jbp: about the stars, agreement and plural
ay4
hey kje :)

hiya sprite
thanks for the swell clues, all!
Morning all...
sprite, that peacock is gorgeous

just filled up the goodies there, BabbleRabble
chase
hi red! Thanks kje, I fully agree!
Oh and I think I am joining him. so sorry...
hi red
good day, kje and redT
i'll be back!
how to the point then, lol
I guessed on the ow!
bbl
bottom e anything?
e + joining of forces and plural
ep4
e + short for photograph and plural
ty sprite for the second one, still working on the first clue
e + one of the first computer games P** Man, + consonant
(is another clue for the first combo)
you carried me over that one, thank you
yvw
thanks sprite.
Are you warm enough, HT?
my pleasure :)
Hurtle Tead?
I am indeed, its a bit chilly, but nice...
could be
We are having an uncharacteristic amoutn of rain, but I suppose everyone else is having snow...
snow, hail, sleet, rain, thunderstorms
v cold and sunny here, in the 20's
I went swimming yesterday and found the wind made it very unpleasant.
I think your weather is wetter than ours, sprite, at least this year
yeah, too bad part of us needs to stay above the surface
here, it's all on a slant
the getting out is the absoloute worst.
we have had an uncommon amount of snow so far this winter. It is the kind of winter that some nostalgic songs tell about.
fa 6, 7, 8 refer to connective tissue or architecture features ... to carpenters, perhaps the board underneath the roof overhang
Yes, indeed. In a way I think its great because we really have needed the rain...and the snow pack for some places is going to be very very good.
red: oh yes! especially when you didn't put your towel right at the water edge.
Hello - Good bye - I've got fireworks. back to bed *poof*
ma 5. 7. 9 --- john phillip sousa ; pl; add a vowel to the 7
hi, bye gratz, sleep well
congrats, rumbples
I am hating the swimming lately because I gained a good amt of weight and I look bad in the swim suit, and of course everyone else is a real athelete training in Florida for the winter...
but since I can not run, it is an excersise in humiliation and good will!
why would you look bad because you are not slim? Wtg on the swimming and be proud of yourself.
Hello All
It's not attractive Sprite. I guess if I was in better shape and still heavy, but, when I had an injury I let things go alot.
hi hego
Hi Hego!!!!
hello, hego
strange to hear of swimming right now.
I really wish the whole focus on being slim as the only way to be attractive would go away. You are Rubenesque!
z?
Let's hear it for Rubens
No Sprite, I am not- actually. I am just overweight. It's bad for my health. My BP has gone up, I am not at a healthy weight for me.
z + dog talk
even in summer, our lake is 54 degrees! It astonishes me that people swim there.
ty
ruby, I am surprised at that. I'm a little funny.
Yikes! rube
outside is fine, but it must be at a certain temp, about 70...
Rubens rocks
lol Sprite
heh....the Z is a new one! I have a new word for "coffee cup"
yay, second 8 found. Smoooooth grid today
Nothing wrong with shape, but one must look to health.
hi jmitch, good!
harpjane is doing the polar bear thing for charity
How are you today, Sprite?
jmitch, that is cool, I wonder how I will get that going in populatiry.
I'm no swimmer, but when I lived in Miami, I could paddle around in the ocean which was probably more than 80 degrees. In the lake I would sink like a stone
she is a hero, BabbleRabble
I don't get the polar bear thing. Brrr...
hi hego
Hi Rubyfoo
you'd have to put a gun to my head -- and then, shoot me!
I always wanted to o the polar bear thing, but have never quite gotten brave enough for it!
Agreed.
do you have a lot of snow, ruby? Ice skate
sprite how is terra?
hego: body is still rotten, but morale is definitely up. I promised myself a day in the sauna as soon as my new meds are on full dose and the oxycodone is down to zero. Amazing how even the thought lifts me up :)
we've had snow off and on and it's really beautiful, but the lake at 54 degrees never freezes (maybe once in 1912!) but I can't skate anyway. Used to ski, though
Hang in there Sprite.
red: just great! Tomorrow he will be exactly one year old. He is a delight, and a very happy dog.
In Miami I was a runner but got sick and had to give it up
I'm so glad to hear of that.
I will, I promise. Am not much good at anything, but I am not a quitter.
Ruby was 7 last week and Max will be 6 on the 17th
I am re-starting my running again. It's humbling. I can run for about one minute at a time, to think I used to run 10-15 miles just a few months ago...
You're awfully good at Babble, Sprite.
all february births!
rth: the program I was on, started at age 42, enabled me to start at 2 1/2 minutes (on grass only) and build up from there, 3 x/ wk
Teulu is March, I think he will be oh golly, 4...
walking in subzero temps can put a giddyup in your pace ... nature can get my attention.
red, you have been through a lot, of course your body and condition reflect that. Perhaps if you can start with that one minute and build up very slowly, you will be running 15 miles before you know it.
by the end I could run for an hour and got over being asthmatic and actually gained some weight putting on muscle!
Babble, do you do the walking with the poles?
yes
BabbleRabble, indeed. Both to men and dogs.
I've done that.
I met someone from Austin who does that. She really enjoys it...
now I hv barely any muscles and get no exercise, very depressing
With the poles. sometimes seems like more trouble than it's worth. lol
so you're a hero too, BabbleRabble. But we already knew that ;)
my son lives in Austin and runs along the river, good except for the snakes
i'm really trying to focus on just enjoying and not worrying about distance, or time...It's a bit liberating not to be training for anything.
Ruby, can't you take walks?
stretching first is critical!
I've promised myself to start IF spring ever comes....
wtg red!
the poles, apparently, if used correctly help with balance and also help with exhaustion.
it will, Rube
promises promises, but your rainbow gives me hope lol, ruefully
I have some balance issues because of meds ... the poles are a big help ... and work the arms and shoulders too
I need them for balance also, on rough ground
It's not because of meds, I'm just dizzy. :-)
we walked to a restaurant yesterday and my husband had to walk behind me and push so I could get up the hill. we were both dismayed!
FUnny Hego!
and he's much older
well, me too, but why not blame the meds?
But tre!
uh, true
or FMitch, for that matter (are you there, FM?)
Ok everyone, please help me, how can I entertain my month long house guest when I am away for a day working....?
but you got there, rubyfoo, and that is what matters
Let him entertain himself.
Red, give them a map and house keys.....
wrap his/her fingers with scotch tape sticky side out, keeps 'em busy for hours!
books, dvds, tv, computer, puzzles, housecleaning, ironing?
Have her do him/her do the laundry and windows
He might enjoy a day alone.
along w/ ideas on what to see, where to go
Jmitch. thnks.
Better even BR
lolllllll rubyfoo
map and keys, good idea
introduce them to us!!
good one, littlebit, and hi
part of my "mean parenting" book
ruby, give 'em bubble wrap!
there isnt much to do and I do wish he would rent a car so he could have a bit of freedom, I did get him gym passes and the gym is close.
hey sprite!
Bubble wrap, oh I Looove bubble wrap....
whenever we have houseguests, they mess up my computer. My husband never lets them use his.
lolol
give him a book on meditation and a cushion
but you have to hear it!
or is that pillow
Indeed, the computer is one concern I have. that and the first few days of getting used to Teulu.
put rohypnol in his breakfast!
ruby, I rather like that as an idea...for the dog or the visitor?
there she goes again
I wouldn't need more than a key, your dogs and a good book to spend my day very pleasantly
use the administrator's tools to create an account and a password for yours
I had a friend who used to put it in her husband's cocktails....
mean nel and her mean friends
really?
really lol
and she is now in prison, rubyfoo?
funnily, they're somehow still married
Ahh I just got an email from the gent now, I want to be excited to have a visitor but really I wish he would just decided to go see someone else.
Maybe it was the drug.
well I guess you need to be conscious to apply for divorce, so that is not surprising
can't you say no, red?
and be able to afford it!
Ok must go clean for houseguest.
too true
you are all too funny today. :-)
I've started fending off houseguests; our first fewe years here we had visitors constantly
red, weren't you listening?
Hi all, back from marmalade-making. Red - why not a trial to Babble? That should keep your guest busy.
now I tell them to get a cab from the airport and I'll book them at a hotel -- mean nel strikes again!
Excellent Sayy!
hi Sally
uh Sally
Sally! I've just revealed my dark side to the whole group!
we love it Ruby!
You have ruby? You mean you cheat at Snap?
hahah
cruel but fair!
ty hego
yw
and hego has promised me Spring....just holding on 'til then
Oh, if only! Winter is getting boring :-( Can imagine why Scandinavians have such depression with all that snow.
we have to hold on to that thought.
The birds think it's spring.
it isn't the snow, but the lack of daylight, I think
Binghamton NY, where I lived for a long time, was the worst. LONG cold winter and virtually no spring
I think so really Sprite.
I would go crazy if I lived in Scandinavia, that is for sure!
my husband feeds the birds 3X/day and we have 100's in residence all winter. And the feeder is in front of the kitchen window so I can do "passive birdwatching"
yes, it's the light thing. I try to read under bright light for an hour or two in the afternoon every day
I am less depressed now that I walk Terra every day.
Do you have one of those special daylight bulbs?
no, just a regular one, but even that helps. I wonder if they have those here
it's a good idea
not yet, but I want to get one. I could use it while reading.
better than anti-depressants.....
I believe they work well. Sprite, how do you manage walking Terra when you have (I think) mobility problems?
sprite: how many languages do you have?
My house faces south and is filled with sunlight all day. I love it.
Poor Sprite, so many questions!
Very slowly and carefully, Sally. I have a walking stick and I built up the walking literally from less than one minute to a reasonable walk. And then I sit on a bench and let Terra play with other dogs.
not so many. English is ok, German and French not great but workable, a bit of japanese.
have to go now, but this has been very enjoyable. Thank you all for brightening my day, even without a "daylight light".
bye rubyfoo
when you read for pleasure, it's in which language?
I'm sure Terra gives you a good reason to go out. I understand the slowly and carefully because I had a major back problem (got medical retirement) and could hardly walk for about 6 months, have built things up as you say.
english. I love reading english.
Bye rubyfoo.
bye Ruby, dear.
bye all, will be back after dinner to glean a little more maybe, up to 94 which is amazing for me lol
I have a full invalidity benefit, for at least another year and a half again. And my new meds are accomplishing what none has for the last 14 years: they are lessening the pain in my pelvic bone.
fireflies, btw - anything I can help with before I go?
that's really good Sprite
YAYYY!!! Sprite!
I'll muddle along, ty Sprite.
Yay for Sprite!
yes, it is a really good thing. Pain in hips and back is worsening without the oxycodone, but I will not take both. Will find another way to handle the pain that is not nerve-related.
what are you taking?
Hi all.
Just stoping by for one minute. Sprite, great to see you.
Hi marmar
gabapentine, or neurontin.
hi Marmar, likewise! How've you been?
I just wanted to wish you alles gute for the new year. We're well, renovations still not finished but we can see light at the end of the tunnel now!
and I promise you, Marmar, it won't be another train! *hug*
Hope not! wanted to share with you a good "find"
Alles gute auch for Dich und deine Familie
lol... fur, not for, ofcourse
what did you find?
my doctor thinks I have Fibromyalgia, joint and muscle pain all over. I bought those MBT shoes and I notice an improvement.
darn, that is a rotten thing to have, Fibromyalgia. But wonderful those shoes make a difference. Let me google them, I haven't heard of them I think.
You might want to research it a little on the web. They take getting used to, radically different than any other shoe you've worn but wonderful for muscles! You might benefit from them. Actually, I think everyone could benefit from them!
ah, I see! Will look into this for sure, thanks for sharing your 'find'!
I have to get going. Love to all you babblers! Blessings too!
I see some dutch sellers are actually offering a lesson to get used to how to walk on them
I have those shoes.
Mine came with a cd
(I've watched the tutorials multiple times and keep practicing) My CD was missing from the box hego!
what do you think of them, hego?
bye Marmar, big *hug* to you!
Oh! I'm curious too hego.
I don't quite know what to think
They're comfy
and do take some getting used to.
I also have a lot of back and hip pain.
I think they help a bit.
I have more defined muscle tone in my legs after 4 weeks, I thought that was impossible at this point!
are you walking with them?
and walking up stairs is bearable now, some days I would make it to the top and then go cry, it hurt so much.
I will ask my physical therapist about them. Must be off now, but thanks a lot for this idea. Bye all, be well.
awww that's awful
Bye Sprite.
I put them on in the morning, walk the dog, then leave them on while I do my daily stuff around the house and in the afternoon with the kiddos.
Hego, they sell shoes similar to the MBT for a bit less....one made by Reebok, and also one made by Sketchers if you want to try them out...
Bye Sprity!
Marmar, I am glad it has helped you!
I have the Sketcher ones Red, thanks
The Sketchers have great review on the internet, MBT too. Thanks Red!
I found a web site that offered some models of MBT at a deep discount.
+reviewS+
the mbt are the definite originals...
God Bless internet shopping!
:)
My next step is a decent mattress, I'm fighting this on multiple fronts. And Amen! to internet shopping!
Hallelujah!
All done. Must be off. Thanks for the nice chat everyone.
bye Sally
I do have to go now for real. Thanks for the chat friends! Bye bye.
OK, now i am off again, to puzzle over this visitor problem. :(
bye marmar, I must go too. Bye
marmar are you still here?

I know. I lived in Bad Homburg for a while
We have to take the dog out finally, he's begging. Inge, it was great to see you. I promise to chat more often, I have so little time on Babble anymore, I usually look like mad for 30 minutes for words then start my daily stuff! Best wishes all!

wow, a witch doctor. I never realized there were so many witches that treating them would become a medical specialty
*does the witch doctor boogie*
I think most of the witch doctors are in Haiti right now. Voo doo specialists.

aloy did you use up all your bananas already? and did you make any banana bread and add some dried bananas to it?
bananas are frozen, oodle.. I made banana bread, but also made the mistake of adding some sunflower seeds that were "past their prime" and had to toss the loaf.. will be taking the banana chips on hikes soon.
BR... don't you dare say, "oh, are you putting a leash on the banana chips"?.. lol
youmean you froze the dried ones?you have more bananas that are ripe...
no more ripe bananas! thank goodness.. yes, just to be sure, I put the dried ones in a Ziploc and froze them
well they would have been fine in your refrigerator
yes, I'm sure you are right..
in the future, I will be giving away bananas, methinks
I had to put all my sugary stuff in the refrigerator because of the ants I got... was spraying constantly
i had to be careful to pick ANYTHING up off the floor that contained the least about of sugar cause it would attract ants...
amazing how those little critters find things.. must have super senses in their little bods
because of their scouts... you don,t notice just one
then all of asudden there is a whole army of them... and I hated the cock roaches... people called them palmetto bugs I call them ugly...

Why can't people stay home when they're sick?
we got to -24 last night brrr
they love to share the joy torgone
brr it is -16 now tonight -26
Not only are we subjected to their germs, but all the whining and moaning as well ..
yup,we are in for it oodles
well I wanted it cold and it is... I don,t think the ground hog is going to see its shadow
make him/her wear a mask torgone
or is it the other way around for a longer winter
ok bbl
crossy purs water down the groundhog hole to make a rodentcicle
I'd like to make him wear a ball bat upside the head ..
present-ism. it's like martyrdom for the sick. or maybe they don't have any sick leave? either way, just tell them not to breathe your air. or otherwise contaminate your space.
spray him down with lysol
if you are in office setting, make him a mask out of post it notes
An already annoying co-worker keeps finding ways to top himself .. Yay Monday ..
or,while he is at lunch, wrap his entire cubiucle in saran wrap
tell your boss you're going home to avoid all the germs others insist on bring to work.
good idea ibd!!
"boss, I'm going home well. You can keep all the sick ones here."
I like it!

I am wondering why other cities in Canada don't have winter carnivals like Quebec does... or is it a registered trade mark?
other parts of canada aren't as uhm...crazy? creative? cabin fevered? capitalistic? I'm just rambling here.
does the carnival coincide with madri gras?
mardi, not madri
http://www.carnaval.qc.ca/en/about/his tory
yes that is from which it stems kje
makes since then... catholic french catholic colony
so feb 3 is ash wednesday?
wow, full of typos today... sense, and only one catholic needed
or is that in march
I editededed it in my head
it changes every year, oodle, I would have to look up when it was this year, it has been in feb before, but usually more toward the end
you're right
since I am neither french, catholic... or from new orleans, I have no idea - LOL
17 feb 2010
my friend just went down to new orleans to work for the season, so i know it's around the corner
this grid seems easy today... down to 18 so far, and still can find them if I step away for a bit
interesting, kje, because this one is making me tear my hair out, i've only gotten 45
funny how that goes pip... sometimes when others think it is easy, I can't see it at all
so mardi gras is the 16 the winter carnival is as you said centred around as wednesday and because it is of latin origin the really whoop it up before ash wednesday because it is 40 days of lent... fasting etc
it's only been an hour and i've been going about my wake-up stuff, but normally i am much quicker
yep, same in new orleans, oodle... and big one in rio
as a protestant, I find the concept fascinating.... let's sin a lot cuz we have to be good soon - LOL
this year though it ends three days before ash wednesday
10 left... will list and get out of here, lots to do today
mardi gras isn't that just one day for festivities before ash wednesday? or is it several days before?
hi everyone
mardi gras is fat tuesday... but the festivities usually start about a week before and culminate on Tuesday
in new orleans, the police literally sweep the streets at midnight and partying must stop
ok like here... but it is not a winter carnival there
last ma6/24?
all? how about in the bars
it is just called carnival
bars close, all go home or get arrested
omg
on bourbon street and throughout the french quarter, the police line up shoulder to shoulder and sweep through... everyone knows the rules and they just move indoors and shut down
midnight? really? that seems awfully early. i know a lot of folks who don't even go out till then
well it goes on and on and on and on in brazil
any clue on that last ma6?
oodles, that's a beautiful winter scene you have for your icon
ty that is the ice castle of the winter carnival here in quebec city
jewish food kje
spelled differently
how much snow is there
going to go and take recent pics of the scuptures and ice castle this year
ty ru
fennel ones even
one left
and those fennel ones were good
and done
Bravo!!!!!!!
Yay K!
this is a great grid - easily doable listless if you have the time to pop in and out with fresh eyes... not that many weird ones at all
um jewish food... I am tryhing it but I am not gitting it
got it
it's an unusual spelling of it oodle - like ma
alt spelling of leavenless cracker used at seder
okay then i won't finish!
ty pip
gotta run - hagd all
bye kje
pip where are you in the states?
duh
i'm in florida - tampa bay area
florida going to nY
I lived in st pete beach when I first moved to florida from wa state, pip
yup. it's my future nyc roomie who is working in new orleans right now
your in florida and are moving to newy york city?? only way id do a transfer like that is if it was a prison term lol
then I went to Ft lauderdale... move here to go to school which didn't work out though now looking for a job. Haven't lost hope though. Also moved here to git away from the hurricanes
i actually don't know st pete beach at all (not a big beach person) but i like downtown st pete
funny, i've lived in wa state too
it is a town just south of treasure island
crossy, florida sounds great till you live there - i need a city, culture, music, shows, art, there's not much of it here, just beach
where I grew up in puyallup about 60 minutes from seattle
mm,well ive never been to the states pippi, but the wife has been to florida many times says she dosent really care for it either
miami has a little more, but it's super expensive and youth and beauty obsessed
I used to pick berries there in the spring and summer
i tutored native american kids in puyallup while i was in tacoma
kewel
clue for the as 6 please
well I graduated school about when you were about 3 pip
that may be - tho folks usually think i'm younger than i am
miss the puyallup fair though even with it's high priced food
hi y'alls, how's thangs?
I graduated in 78
howdy gwen;)
only have three 6s so far, sorry sciencegeek
hi gwen
well see, i was 4!
hi gwen
i think flarta should be a word. it sounds cool
as6 is star-related
ahhh, ty torgone!
ty tor now i see it!
hints for the 8s?
my brother likes cities as well, the concrete jungle..he always was strange.i can do without the culture and the cross fire lol
i have gone to the 'fair' they have here in quebec city and i have been to fairs but nothing compares to the puyallup fair
okay, please provide phonetical spelling of puyallup. plz and ty
the fa 8/60 builds off the fa 6/30
ma8 fa8
pew-all-up
where do i put accent?
wa state is full of random oddly spelled places
or it is pronounced pollywapup
pwillioop
either the first or second syllable, they're pretty equal
pew-ALL-up ??
yes
Can someone help with the fa6?
sometimes it sounds like pee-wallop
Staunton, VA is said as 'stanton' Botetourt, VA is said as 'body tot'. So weird things all over
fa 6 = a thin skin
fa6 - wood facing
plenty of strange place names all over the US. Michigan has, for example, Paw Paw, Escanaba, Dowagiac, Kalamazoo, and we have a street in Detroit called Gratiot.
there are so many versions of people trying to pronounce it
my dad's from Gratiot, OH (gray shot)
in detroit its' graa-shit. No kiddin'
I thpught it was just the Brits with the strange pronunciations!
in MI it's gray-tee-oat
obviously you are not a native, DC LOL
Grasshit Auto Parts!! Used to hear about it on a Detroit radio station we got in N. Ohio
ah, michagander from Alpena said that's how it's said
i'm from DC and have never been to MI. Toledo is as near as i've gotten.
Hmm, I think I got the fa6 but I pluraled it and got fa7.
dc, your friend in alpena is yankin' your chain (bet they say alpena is pronounced throat-warbler mangrove)
Do I have the right one (the pl is latin)
wa is notorious for spellings that have little to do with pronunciation -- geoduck, sequim, mukilteo, tenino, etc
what is with the throat-warbler mangrove? that's the 3rd rerference to that i've seen in last 3 days
I think it was more of a schwa on the second syllable, but I don't know how to type a schwa ..
been to spokane and learned how to pronounciate it. it's spo-CAN, not spo-CANE
DC, it's from a monty python sketch
ah, weird that it's come up so much lately
we have a many strange ones here as well........balls falls, mossy stonecrop trail, happy valley
yes, michnick
freakin' funny stetch
and what's up with that Moose Jaw?
It's spelt Luxury Yacht, but it's pronounced Throat-Warbler Mangrove ..
lol good ole moose jaw
we also have a moose factory
i could quote monty python all day. it'll cost you money to stop me LOL
a moose factory??? ... uh dumb question... making what
wife wont let me watch monty python:(
I live near Sandwich and the next village is Ham which usually causes a laugh over the signpost
once a year at my church the minister's husband would auction off a motorcycle ride to Hell (we have a town called Hell). fundraiser.
it is an actual town name up north oodles
cross, does she let you bring stray cats into the house, or play with your food?
deeha, that's a good one! LOL
lol,she just does not get the humor in monty python, and yes i play with my food mommy
I expect few of you know of Frogjump and Bucksnort in Tennessee !!
there is an inexplicably named Navy near where i live. And we're inland above the fall line.
oof. i turned on the tv for background noise and they're airing the episode of wife swap with the ballon boy's family. so, so creepy. that show is the worst
just a bit inland from Deeha, we have Bogshole and Slutshole
once i shipped a book to Mantoloking, New Jersey. Oy!
t.v is getting depressing.we have over 200 channels and could find nothing worth watching last night.had to resort to digging a movie out of the ole vcr cabinet
i loath reality tv. the writer's strick is over, everyone!!
im starting to loth t.v in general gwen;(
strick = strike, OY
We have a village called Loose which has a Loose Womens Institute and a Loose Bowls club
loath
i usually tape marathons of some law and order variant and watch those when nothing else is on. they have a couple of them on every week so i'm usually covered
there are maybe 6 shows worth watching, IMO, of a drama nature, i mean
http://tinyurl.com/yezz6h7 Jerseywocke y
and i watch a lot of tv online rather than on the actual tv, so i have more control
I am also bopred with 'celebrties' doing stuff - singing, ballroom dancing, dancing on ice.......boooooooring
Gwen, do you happen to know the phone numbre of the Farmington Garden Club. My Hubby os supposed to talkk to them , lost the date.
if i had my way,id only pay for A&E,Discovery,History and one good movie channel
hi inge, i think i might know someone who's in the club, but they are out of town right now. let me poke around for a sec . . .
can't do without BBC America
i told the wife id get divorce papers done up if she tries to turn on that gene simmons show lol
hey inge, their website has Chris Britts at 248-473-0822 (farmingtongardenclub.com)
the worst TV programme ever, though, is Dog the Bounty Hunter
no,the worst is where those moms pimp thier 8 year old girls ibn those kiddie pagents
cross, you two need separate TVs in separate rooms LOL
We did have a verty good one off the other day called Mrs Mandela. From someone I cordially dislikes it changed my whole idea of her.
no, I think Dog outdogs them :D
agree with crossy
hard to say which P-O-S reality show i would call the worst tv show ever. so many are so barfmaking
I love Dog - what about the wife???!!!! I laugh all the way through it!!
capa
there's something nice to say about her?
thanks Gwen, I hope they have only one such club
There was acftually you could see she was a product of her upbringing and that she was brain damaged by all the torture when she was in prison.
inge, it's the right area code, so it's the right club (I'm pretty sure!)
interesting .....
interesting .....
being in prison for 32 years (?) will change your personality a lot.
well, i have 42 more words to find, back to the grid
bbl
it's been 2 hours and i'm still not halfway or nbt
Pen says it is the NOrth Farmington Garden Club he needs, and they have no web page, only face book, which we dont have
inge, i'll bet if he calls the number i just posted, then that person will have the number for the other club
inge, let me poke around on facebook for ya, brb
That is true. I am still amazed by that man, he is a saint and I dont call anyone that lightly. How he couild come out after 5hat time and still love peoople and forgive them and want unity I do not know. My sister has met him a few times and says he is exactly as you see him
inge, i found them on facebook, but no caontact info. if you want me to leave a message for their group leader to call your husband, i can do that
Pen says, no thanks. He will pursue it himself. Thanks for trying to help
inge, okay, and good luck 8-)
signing off for now, POINK

the method to our madness was: get everything out of old house into new house -- somewhere, ANYwhere -- then we get things where they need to go on our own time. what this ends up as: everything lives in the garage until we need it, then we HUNT it down -- searching for my phone charger last night was fun...
Oh dear.
He's spent the last 5 days superglued to my lap.
sounds like both ends messy for eva, also!
A clingy, messy toddler. See what you're missing, Ata?
oh, it was messy alright -- the "light dusting" of snow we were told to expect ended up being 4-6 inches of shiite just dumped from the sky. totally ideal conditions for moving!
I'll share with you Eva!
I have a spaniel ...
clingy, but not so messy!
spaniels are gorgeous!
My sister has just got a spaniel pup. My dad's not impressed.
Your dad will be won round. Spaniels have a habit of winning people over.
their eyes win over the world
He didn't really want another dog though.
I think he will prob end up doing all the cleaning up.
Hi All. Ruby, you're back!
Hello, hego.
just got back and found one more word from the chat. dinner was a succes fou!
Spangle is lovely.
hello all
Isn't she? Very decorative, always has been.
Hello, peri.
but I just had to speak on the phone for 15 mins with husband's French teacher, what a chore
hello peri
Hi peri.
he has a French teacher?
Had husband not done his homework?
Haz, I swept and mopped the kitchen floor. I sued a home made recipe. equal parts water, white vinegar and rubbing alcohol. I used a squirt bottle and then mopped it up with a mop dipt in hot water. Looks good
needed one when we moved here
he studied other languages and was too shy to speak any of them
Well done, peri!
and although I['m fluent, she interrupts me when I make an error, very very annoying
sounds like me. But I've gotten better.
Could you come and do mine please peri?
thanks Haz. Now I am making lentil soup fresh mushrooms. Did two loads of laundry too.\
omg, peri, such energy!
You're a woman transformed, peri. I take full credit.
Okay, husband home, better serve tea. Bye!
peri you are making me feel otally useless!
uh, no Becca. I hate house hold chores. but someone needs to do them and my sister and her husband both work
bye haz
Bye Haz.
as you should, Haz.
All Europeans do that , Ruby and I've come to belive they're trying to be helpful.
Bye Haz
not very helpful for me, however, my french is OK and I'm too old for it to get much better
that must be really annoying ruby
no need to feel that way, Becca. I do not clean often, so feel the need to make an announcement, espec. when, Haz, the domestic goddess, is here.
stop saying you're too old. Silly girl.
yes, very
lol peri
ruins the rhythm, inadequate as it is!
I may have to announce next time i clean then. With superglue child I have done nothing for days
if you saw me, you'd say, "{Look at that old chicken-lady!"
Haz, did you see where I called you a "domestic goddess"?
She's a teacher. Probably can't help herself. :-)
haz is making tea
I think she's gone peri.
:(
that's probably correct, but it doesn't keep it from being annoying.... and I'm scratchy these days, except in here
I can't afford to laugh at anyone for being old.
me neither, us retired folks, need to stick together
yes!
Right!
the official retired ladies babble group includes; rubyfoo, hego and me at the moment!!
there may be more! probably lurking shyly around
there has to be others, Peri.
this afternoon I was very naughty and showed my mean side, they were laughing, but, unfortunately, it was true
jilli and floseyprobably
We'll have to sniff them out. I think Welki is.
othere are free to join
ORLBG
*sniffing* :-)
Ruby, I was just going to say that!
ORLBG?
maybe sallycatlover and sallyds?
Off to put this toddler to bed (and leave all you retired folks alone!).

I am jealous!
Jersey Shore, I go to Ventnor in the summer. maybe we can get together this summer.?
Hi everyone! May I please have a clue for the second ES 6?
You bet Peri.
Oh, poor Ruby. I'm sorry
and I don't have a place to stay so always just go for the day.
hello car, How do I know which is the first and which is the second?
Oh, are we playing a game here?
I have a cousin in Cherry Hill.
es 6/18
yes we are looking for words
it's OK hego, after all, I chose this isolated place so can't really complain
game?
I don't know how to clue this dumb word for Car
I don't have the word or I would try to help
I am sick with a stomach bug...so remedial is best.
It's like the as6, but start with e
me either
brb, need to check on the soup
Don't have the as 6 yet...I will keep working on it.
too funny, that worked hego
the as6 means star like
in the sky, car
Got em both. TY!
yw

I'd better get to work here
work or game?
or is game work?
yes
I think I've hit the wall at 99 words. Good night everybody
G'nite Ruby. Sleep well.
gd nite, hego
Clue for ra 6/21 please?
tech is not a word????????
one who is good at it
Add the sometime vowel to that dh
don't have the r car
hello car my love! Just home from work and a church meeting, and needing some quiet brain time before the student onslaught
Matt and I both have the stomach bug the kids had.
ra + aussie buddy
ahhh, the couple that barfs together....
Hi all. I am trying desperately to warm up. I got soaked in cold rain when running...
TY BR!
LOL trif
I am now trying to find some good reason to go swimming.
He did go to work though. I feel like I have an axe through the middle of my head.
Exercise ca kill you.
How was work today?
ty BR
I am sure I will feel like that as soon as secondo flies in on her pubescent broom
Go swiming for me Red! I wish I could!
Car, its not really warm here though, so you will have to imagine swimming with goosepimpley skin.
wprk was fine. have a new student. I also worked with John, or rather, sat and read as John refused to work and lay on the carpet face down for 35 minutes
I thought you might be going to a nice indoor pool...nevermind then!
Work is so- thought I'd pop by and see if there are any good clues hanging about
the pool is heated, but, its outside. But it isnt like where you live, I promise.
How is the new student? (* John* not his real name)
Did you all ever get soaked in the rainand then just have trouble getting warm again??
but the new student is a RIOT. He is a boy, 13. Boss was saying how he can turn in completed work for points that can be traded in for gift certificates, and he said "Like to Hooters?" I ROLLED - nice try, kid
What? In Massachusetts? It's freezing!
exactly!
Yes Red. Not a good feeling...Rather bone chilling.
I am not enjoying it.
Ahhh! A 13 YO after my own heart!
I want gift certificates for completing my work!
I want wings!
liposuction!
Is the MA 8 a compound word?
LOL red. Okay, secondo descends....pray for me....
no
Praying Trif. good luck.
builds off ma7
Battle stations! Man your positions!
add a vowel to thr john phillip sousas
Got it!
TY both!
yw
thanks much
Good grief! Does the FA 8 build off the fa 4/7?????
lol no
this grid seems to be rather nice. I am down to 34 with minimal assistance.
off of the fa5
and 6
which is plural of the fa 4!!!!
the second fa5
that is the second one!
The fa/8 builds off the fa/7 which builds off the fa/6
oh right, sorry
Can spell, but can't count
which builds off the underside of the eave on the north side of the house
lawyer knows all
all what?
hi Babb
if I had the fa6 I would be in business
All all
Me too Peri!
don't have any of the 8's but do have a pot of homemade lentil soup :)
you're a wonder Peri
If I see Esau, I will send him your way, peri
aww, thanks
I think Babble is a good example of the cognitive polyphasia
??? lawyer-1
fa6 is the thin lyer of tissue that runs over the muscles
The tsadik speaks
Esau sold his birthright for a bowl of lentil soup
he did? did not know that
Rosh tsadik, pls
is that what the old pottage was?
rosh tsadik, sorry
I am supposed to be preparing to teach a bunch of paralegals on Wed., no teaching heathens about the bible

If something can pre-empt something, why can't something empt something?
Hi Mitch. Wondered about that myself.
I guess there are a lot of words like that, but it is weird.
yup
that's so funny I typed it in just before Mich's message
Great minds think alike, Katie. I cannot find anything for that e on the bottom, left corner.\
me either though I am over half way so will list after dinner
I tried it also
Exactly what I did. I got to about 82 words, ate dinner. Now I am back and I about to go to the list. (61 left now)
I have those e's. let me look.
The e's at the bottom E + a treaty + Plural
ty soodle
ep4 and plural a story of ep4 proportions
Thanks Soodle
Thanks Hego
hi Soodle
the z is killing me.
yw
thanks hego, the e is now greyed out
Now I have the whole left column grayed!
hi mom it's dumb.
Hi Hego & all :)
z4 z + dog sound
oh I just got it, you are right hego its dumb
omg... thanks hego.
:-)
yw
Not getting the z....

z + an anagram of the Royal Air Force
the dog in garfield
z + slang for vomit b***
Thanks Hego. This is a word!!??

off to do dinner, see you all later
bye Kate
a holder, usually of ornamental metal, for a coffee cup without a handle (THis is from the dictionary.com)
And I thought it was a dog talking in its sleep (!)
Uh, okay
ZZZZZzzzzzz woof woof (I hate it when I have to explain my obscure jokes!!)
I just thoght, do Israeli dogs go oy oy?
sorry Soodle, dull today
Only the worried ones, Hego. Actually they say "hav hav". Go figure.
Who knew?
Roosters in Israel say Kukureeku. I'd rather wake up to that than Cock A Doodle Dooooo.
LOLOL
Hi e1
Rofl, Mich.
Luckily my daughter is here with me. She is bi-lingual in animal talk too.

Dr Doolittle, eat your heart out.
:-)

Rolling on the floor laughing.
And LMAO is laughing my a** off!!
Oh yes!
knew that one. ty
hego, is mich a tsadik?
I don't know lawyer. ask her. She does live in the promised land.
tsadik?
Hey lawyer, I am blushing. Actually the female form is tzadeikis (or tzadkanit). Meaning righteous person.
I got yelled at b4 for being a sexist, so I wanted to treat women equally....no special names
lawyer knows this Mich. He knows everything.
Ahh, so he's the Tzadik!
He's a scholar
rosh tsadik
That doesn' go in many languages Lawyer. You should know that!
ROSH tsadik
damned if I do; damned if I don't!
poor lawyer
Oh well, lawyer, if you're a tzadik you probably aren't damned at all. Lucky for you.
but, since I am a lawyer, I think some ppl have cursed me
does anyone have the ta5. it's making me crazy.
Don't get me started on the lawyers in Hell jokes.
Hego - Ta + theres ***es and females.
ta/5 Mexican food minus the ending vowel
BRB. The shvigger just walked in and I have to be polite. (Now try and figure out what a shvigger is b4 I get back)
oh, ty people
lol mich
okay lawyer what's a shvigger?
m-in-law
thanks, Hego. I was afraid to ask.......
lol mine is called a fruit cake
ty lawyer
assuming she did not mean schwigger....because that is profanity
funny Sea
I hope not
This is not getting my speech written
Nope
Maybe I could help, Lawyer. I just made a speech at my kids - state of their rooms, their non-help around the house -the lack of studying - the constant demands for money.
They didn't listen..........
hey wats up. im new on here. what is this game about
oh, just like American kids.
ok....how does that fit in with teaching paralegals how to prep witnesses for testifying?
Emmmmm..........
find the words in the grid jazie
Hi I'm back. You're right Hego, lawyer knows everything
respect?
and, if you need help, jazie, send lawyer $5 for each word u need
Ahh, now he's acting like a lawyer
He's a smarty, Mich
well, I'm not charging for my talk to the paralegals. I gotta make it up somehow!
Man's got to make a living.
gotta pay for the trip to FL next week
back after dinner trying to sych myself up to go shopping but really not keen!
Florida is the American promised land Mich
Ach, I know that.

Sounds good, Peri!

hi NB
hi Peri
NB di you get to visit with your sister?
Yes, it's Tuesday morning here
how's Melbourne settled down after the tournament?
*has
It doesn't make such a huge impression here ('cept of you are a tennis fan). The Grand Prix has more impact - probably because of the noise - and because I am close to the area, the road closures
Ugh, back, sorry for ignoring anyone. Computer hiccupped!
yep, she came up to visit on Saturday, Peri :) great day!
glad to hear that, NB

hi ya GE ... I hope you are warm and cozy Joanne... fareezing here in quebec city
My internet has been down for 2 days and i've been going thru withdrawl! i'm so happy to be back!

Good for you. I have my ice cream and my list.
bojazz--First time ever, and probably a freak occurance.
brrr is right
hi Gail - i'm a Burlingtonian from many years ago -cheer for the Bosox and Pats
oops I thought it said 26 but it is -16
ice cream is good. I have to go get the wife soon.
Oh, that's great! Where are you now?
still cold
I have to put butter beef in the crockpot.
oodle - you 66 degrees colder than we are in SC
tomorrow day though it is going to be -24
Did you just call my daughter THE WIFE??
Hello all you chilly ones.
in South Carolina - lived her the greater part of my life
um that is Celsius bo
hi stidgmere (I'm chilly)
I wore a sweater this morning for an appointment and was very cozy.
Much warmer than we are for sure.
KrisE we need to average somethings out I think.
Well, if I called her ME, people may have been confused.
9F
Hee, you are so right.
We lived near Sumter 40 years ago. Beautiful country. Great peanuts.
Heading out. g/n
Bye
oodle - i'm not even close to being jealous, promise
byeee freer
where, near Sumter?
aww shuck why not???
shucks
Feel free to send some heat this way, Stidgmere
;-)
it was 24F this a.m. & i thought i would light myself afire just to warm-up
in S carolina???!!!
yes
holy deep frost batman... that's cold for your neck of the woods!
At the air force base. It was quite a while back but we lived on a little farm. The owner had the John Deere franchise in town. I would send warmth to you if it were at all possible.
yes it are - we are on the southern fringe of the weather that's been beating on you
wouldn't it be nice to send weather where it's needed?
It is 44 degrees here and 71 in the house.
Shaw Air Force Base - now home of the Ninth Air Force and soon headquarters for the 3rd Army - they are grwoing
*growing
29.1 outside here 62 inside
Army? That was Ft. Jackson a long ways away. Our AFB here is going to soon be McChord-Lewis a joint base.
fa6 please the second??
the 3rd Army is moving from Atlanta - we got them during the base closures & realignment thing
the John Deere dealer was run by the Boothe family - ring a bell?
I don't have it, Joanne...
ok ty anyway
bojazz you have been getting a lot of accidents... even for snow 'sledding' using anything they can get their hands on.
KrisE - feel your pain lol
my fa6 ignorance? or the 62-degree house
no snow in this part of SC - all in the upstate area
Oh, yes it does but I didn't know you would be able to put a name to them. Really Southern gentlemen.
the outside temp KrisE
Nice to have company.
http://www.weather.com/multimedia/vide oplayer.html?clip=365&collection=topst ory&from=maproom_video
Oh, only 2 or 3 months until spring!
Mr. Boothe passed away three years ago - his son is an attorney now - no more farm equipment
Sorry to hear of Mr. Boothe's passing. Someday we want to get back to see the area. I imagine there are many more houses there now.
some of these stories are amazing
more houses than we need! when thye announced the army was coming, the builders went crazy building - we probably have 500 new housing units for sale
the full army unit is not due til next year
I never expected to find someone who really knew South Carolino on this chat. It is a small state and a world of its own.
fa6 when putting siding on your house ..this is under the edges of the roof then latin
Oh my, we already have the units in place here so no more building is needed. They surely have improved the houses on both bases recently.
then more of it
thank you Joanne!
you are in SC stid?
hey it gets worse. the government is going to build 600 new houses for the army folks - houses to rent, not for sale - and you wonder why the government is in debt
very welcome
No, I am in the NW of the US quite near the site of the Olympics. I don't wonder why the government is in debt. The right way, the wrong way, the Army way. Can you imagine all of the health care following the same guide lines?
oh that's what I thought
stid I grew up in pollywapup
uh puillioop
poopup
;-)
puyallup
You can spell it Puyallup if you like. Can't sound it out and get the spelling you need on that one.
can i imagine? the government has never managed anything that wasn't over-priced and poorly managed - they think they can do health care?
got to empty dryer - brb
It is a small world sometimes and other times it seems toooo big to get a handle on. Bojazz, you have a good mind!
well when I git my butt up and git a ticket for the winter carnaval so I can get new pics and close pics of the castle
Oddle, are you in Quebec? They have a winter carnival but I think Montreal has one also.
as far as I know montral doesn't have one... so I was told but I guess qubeckers want to think they have the only one... although that's where it started... it is in its 54th year
We want to go to Quebec in the spring. It looks lovely and we enjoy trying out our French on unsuspecting native speakers.
hee hee well don't go to montreal because most likely they will surprise you in speaking english back to you... if you come to quebec city then you will meet more people who don't speak english
yes that's why I have all the pics of the ice sculptures and I said it in my story in my profile
We'll come to Quebec. I shall have to look up your profile. Mine is not so intresting because i don't know how to get the pictures small enough to be accepted or something.
oh
well come on... but hopefully I will get a job and I will stay longer but if not I am looking to move west
ok I have 41 more words and I ran smack dab up against a wall OUCH

fans of the series "lost"?
but i know where my fans are!
ooooh, that lost - not moi
its the 6, 30 with 2 more letters a cons nd a vowel. sorry guys its a dumbed down clue, but...
no sorry I don't get into lost... I feel like I can't find my way
do we have a lickety list today?
farcesta
oooops - SORRY11
yes lickety is up
Wrong fa 6 bojazz!
the fa6/30 that means molding?
I like that word bo
a farcical latina :)
the fa 6 30 is a part of tissue of the body that helps collect bones and muscles. SOme people get Plantar Fa***tis.
ok bbl tv time
It does have an architectural meaning too apparently, I just lookedit up!
ty. also a building term
I keep trying pasta.
i hate my life
Oh No Pippin.
not good pip
uh oh...
my friend is in town and i just left her parents' house because they were having dinner (i declined their polite offer to share some with me) only to find that there is no food in this house for me, my parents have already eaten without me
i love feeling like an unwelcome guest here
Pippin, this can be resolved with a call for pizza.
way ahead of you red
i just ordered pizza online before i came here
no, i don't really do that, but i guess i'm going out for some crappy fast food
Ahhh jmc, you care to share with Pipping?
the pizza will be here in about 20 minutes pip!
no eggs in the house? that is my dinner tonight
hi all btw
can't really use the kitchen because it's an open floorplan house and my dad will be sitting there watching me and he'll find it necesary to tell me all the ways i'm doing things wrong
don't quite have the energy for that tonight
oh hell there is a z word
TO, it is a za 4/12, if that helps
the Z is easier than the fa8
ty, it did
with that info totally easy to monkey
I stayed with my parents for two months between missions once, it wasn't easy.
ty pip
it's kind of like living alone in a strangers' house, except there's no rent and the strangers are extra judgmental
my poor son has to stay with me in between semesters but we actually do okay together
if bad why stay?
I found it only mildly annoying at times. My parents are really ok,
i shouldn't complain, i am lucky to stay somewhere for free, but my folks and i don't get on terribly well and i'm only here still cause i dont have the funds to move yet
THe issue my Dad had was he wanted me to work, and I am not liscensed to work in that state at all... sooo.
he tells me his friends all say "how can you stand to live with your mom" and he says "we do fine" and then they ask "don't you miss having a place of your own" and he says "yes"
i mean i could move, but i'm trying to go to nyc and not fall on my face, so saving is key
We did have some fun, and I really do feel closer to them after that extended vacation...
but my folks apparently assume i'm going there to enjoy yet another failure, so that's a fun way to prepare for a move
they want you to succeed.
i was hoping it might be good for us, and to some extent it's been good for me and mom, but dad is totally a lost cause
too bad pip
no, to, i think they only want me to succeed on their terms, and so succeeding on my terms is sort of classed a failue anyway
Ahh there is the difference, since I had just come out of a war zone, my parents pretty much left me alone, and talked it up when we went anywhere (Small town).
i understand that pip, my in laws never understood why my husband wanted to be a criminal trial lawyer
they kept trying to get him to do something useful like teach!
funny jmc, isn't criminal law on occasion quite profitable? or am I wrong?
they prob can only see one way for you. soem folks are very convention and single minded. my paresnt agreed to college but thought i would be a teacher until married. that's what educated women did then.
occasionally but he wasn't into mob or white collar
he just wanted to help the average shlub
I watch too many of those Crime dramas jmc.
so it was hard spending time with my friend's parents today, because they're well, nice, and supportive, and that kind of thing. most of the time i just ignore what i don't get at home, but some days it's hard
lol TO when I went to law school my great aunt asked if I shouldn't get a teachers certificate as a back up plan
you have to find it in yourself pip
Pippin, unfortunately your parents, are only people. they aren't programmed to be some sort of ideal people, and most make mistakes and regret more than they admit.
so do you have a goal besides NYC?
and i don't like to complain because i get a lot of things other people don't have, but some days i just can't keep my mouth shut
are you still exploring the options?
i know what i want to do when i'm there, i have a plan, i have a timeline, but it's hard to get my head straight till i get out of here and get my bearings there
do you know where you will be looking to live?
brooklyn, most likely park slope or sunset park
that is where my niece just moved from NO
nice
seems to be the happening place
so probably expensive for the moment.
no different kind of happening
it is where the young and hip and broke live
oh...
it's way cheaper than manhattan, and i'm not looking at one of the pricey nabes in bkln
jmc the young hio and broke live, like in Buffalo....
my niece found her place through craigs list
do you want to be an actress ?
you can't be hip in Buffalo
you can be hip in Buffalo, they have an excellent Writing program...
i plan to do that and do a lot of walking around the area looking for signs in windows, and asking friends - they say those are the 2 best ways to find places
lol red
pippin are you in bklyn?
i actually want to be a personal/research assistant for a writer or similar - takes the stuff i like from what i've been doing for the last 15 years w/o the stuff i hated about my work, and it sounds like fun
moving there in june
hi sue
are you looking for an apt or a roommate to live with?
hi all
hi sue!
i will be going there with a roommate, so we'd be looking for 2 extra rooms, either with someone else or on our own
do you want a phone number of a person in Parkslope. Right by the F train?
he has 2 rooms for rent w/furniture
hi folks
hello Welki.
i have tons and tons of furniture actually, and i wouldn't need anything till the summer
right on to Prospect Park circle
<-- would move back to brooklyn in a hearbeat (or a new york minute :)
hi welk
Pipping, I have your ideal place
but the location sounds amazing, that's right by where my friends are
lol
I used to walk to Farrels pub
down to 25. bbl to finish.
it is also where the 68 bus goes past
where are you moving from, pip?
do you want the number?
Pippin, what will you do if no one is hiring research assistants?
sure, i won't say no to any leads
I know the guy really well and there is even washer and dryers in the basement
i figure it will take me a good year to find the job i really want, but i can wait tables or bartend right away, since i have good experience doing that
(that's what i'm doing right now)
you're moving to nyc from another big city?
He is my Father, Bill Fradkin 718-854-5529, tell him his daughter susan sent you
i'm in florida, tampa bay area
good plan pippin, I think the instability of it would make me nuts.
aw, ty sue!
careful about posting personal info - remember anything here gets permanently logged
have you ever been to brooklyn or nyc? it ain't no disco, especially for the young and starving
I used to want to live in a loft in the village...
i broke the chat
i have a lot of friends there, and family, and it was either there or chicago and i have fewer contacts in chicago these days. i was there end of september and felt so relieved, it felt like home after too long here
pulls out chat resuscitation cart...
and i'm not that young or that starving these days
tho actually i am starving tonight and probably ought to run out and grab some food, since there is none for me here
we made frozen chinees food
i miss good chinese food. none here in this "city"
pipping where are you
We have some excellent Chinese in Orlando.
tampa bay area, florida - not a haven for foodies
what is your name
pipping
more about fast food and chain places

do you eat bison, lb? i just made some awesome chili
love bison!
e's empty
ohhh, i had the best rib eye steaks :)
used to be able to get it when i lived in Idaho. hard time getting it here...other than burger.
this was fresh from a friend of mine
oooh, lucky you!
he must have waved a magic wand over it or something ... aged it perfectly, not too lean
where'd he get it?
i've only been to one place in idaho (driving through, spent the night) and that was priest lake
rancher was culling a herd
i used to live in Pocatello, and could get bison from the fort hall reservation.
i would have thought you could get bison in montana, too .. guess it depends on where you are
here, you can buy it in the grocery store
but can i get a decent bagel?
Wow .. I was about to ask for ideas on what to do with bison ..
not sure what a bison would cost here. I know there are a few ranches where you can help cull the herd. You can get mostly processed burger, but to get roasts or steaks...really expensive
slow roast it, torg!
imagine that! guess we can STEER you in the right direction (i will quote your nyuk nyuks on that one)
It's ground ..
*giggle*
I was thinking meatloaf ..
hello all!
makes a great chili or meat sauce for spaghetti
nyuk nyuk ..
meatloaf would be good, too
ground, use it just like hamburger,
Is it my imagination, or is this a fairly well-behaved grid today?
very friendly, nrkii
nrk, it is. someone must have beaten it into submission earlier in the day
Ooh yeah .. I should put it in my famous pasta sauce ..

ROFL torgone

ooh, today was my first day back to full time employment folks... after 51 weeks out of work
how's it feel, Nrkii?
like the phoenix out of the ashes, the marketing queen is resurrected!
