the Telegraph cryptic crossword is the cryptic crossword for wimps and those that can't do the one in the Times. Which I why I do it!
There was an interesting programme on over Christmas time about crossword puzzles, how they began, how they're composed and about the people who set them. They explained all the sort of cryptic devices etc. Shame I didn't take notes!
wonder if Aussie crosswords are uK style or US style - I'm not sure of exactly how they are different but it's really hard to do US if you're used to UK and vice versa

oh yes it is, lyn, it is just that bringing down the oxycodone and building up the gabapentine is a rotten combination. The side effects are truly bad. But I do have more feeling in my feet again. And for the first time in over 14 years less pain in the pelvic bone. So it is worth it.

yes I can, lyn, and I seem to be shaking off the severe depression that is a side effect of the gabathingus, so I can handle things a little better again. Still must find a way to tackle the 'other' pain, which is not nerve related, but that is easier. I am again hopeful.

I was on a pretty high dose of oxycodone, but I didn't feel good about it. The loss of feeling in my feet made me go to a neurologist and he suggested Neurontin (or gabapentine), which influences the transport of information via nerves in the brain.
oh Lobo! Now that would make me so happy, to see her again. That is SOME lady!
evidently oxycodone is abused a lot; it must be pretty strong
am sorry about your back troubles, rubyfoo, but glad that codeine makes things workable for you.

yes it is strong, it is one step before actually taking pure morphine. And even though it helped with the pain in my hips and back, it didn't do a thing for the pelvic bone. So I am doubly glad to go over to the neurontin, even though the actual process is rather tough. But it is finite, and I have my hope back. Things will work out.

but, when needed, it works -- and fast!
now I have to make lunch for mr. nasty!
I have felt from the start as if oxycodone didn't agree with my body. I kept 'forgetting' to take pills, even though the pain was very bad. Some people get addicted to the stuff, but I have a kind of aversion against it.

During the crash of 29 he lost all his businesses and his houses and apt houses but managed to keep the original Barber shop and his own house.

My grandpa came to the US before the first WW because he was the bad boy of the family and my grandma came cause she was the prettiest daughter, but the youngest. All the suitors wanted to marry her and not her older sisters
even when he was home, you didn't see him lying about the house... he was always doing something. one time there was something he was wanting to do on the roof (this is when he was getting older and my aunt took over the businesses) when my aunt went to work my grandpa went off on the roof and fell off, the exact reason why my aunt told him specifically not to go up there when no one is here. Well he fell off and dragged himself in the house. He survived and I think this was the time his cut his hand very badly and he put vaseline and tape on it (he put vaseline on everything sore, cut, etc.!). One day my aunt smelled something funny and she saw that my Grandpa's hand had gangreen. and she goes PAPA!! YOU went on the roof didn't you ??? Well she took him to the hospital and got it taken care of but what a man... sometimes i think if I had half the ambition he did I would be somewhere today.
