Had a serious day from hell MOnday on which the bakfiets finally limped to its terminal halt. Been rather in a panic and getting up half an hour earlir to run for 20 minutes to the bus stop on th eother side of Overveen and all to get Walter to school. Well, my dad said he wanted to get me a second hand bakfiets, and I found a Christiania Light on Marktplaats; teh man selling it will even bring it from Wateringen. Should get it this weekend!

ok well i actually have 2 problems well the first 1 is that i had 2 get out of school early 2day becasue i have practice for my concert (im singing for a group of people with my chior) and we had an assembley and right after the assembly was over my dad was there to pick me up well i have this boyfriend and he said hey to me and all of my friends were like oohhhh gabby and her boyfriends are talking intentionaly in front of my dad and my dad doesnt exactly know about my Boyfriends and so i had to go get all of my homework out of my locker and all of my friends appoligized because they knew that i was upset and finally figured out that my dad didnt know that my dad didnt know and of course my nosy principle had 2 talk to me about the bible and how i should tell my dad and i said that i would and i would have if my princeiple wouldnt have threatned to tell my dad about kyler (that is my boyfriend) but it turns out that the princeilple called my mom and told her that i was doing things behind my dads back and my mom knows about kyler but daddy still thinks that im his bby girl and i dont want 2 hurt him but i dont know what to do because i have a feeling that the rpinciple is going to talk to my dad about all of this but IDK what i should do??????? I would understand if you wanted your mom in the room. Fathers can be scary individuals sometimes, especially when their little girs grow up. I think it would be fine if your mom was there, just don't wait too long. On another note, I don't think the principal of the school had aqny reason to get involved unless it is affecting your school work, or is against some school policy...even in a private school there should be some semblance of privacy of individuals.

Just found this for you, Herin:Joe Mattioli's Ancient Orange and Spice Mead It is so simple to make and you can make it without much equipment and with a multitude of variations. This could be a first Mead for the novice as it is almost fool proof. It is a bit unorthodox but it has never failed me or the friends I have shared it with. (snip)...it will be sweet, complex and tasty. 1 gallon batch 3 1/2 lbs Clover or your choice honey or blend (will finish sweet) 1 Large orange (later cut in eights or smaller rind and all) 1 small handful of raisins (25 if you count but more or less ok) 1 stick of cinnamon 1 whole clove ( or 2 if you like - these are potent critters) optional (a pinch of nutmeg and allspice.....very small ) 1 teaspoon of Fleishmann’s bread yeast ( now don't get holy on me--- after all this is an ancient mead and that's all we had back then) Balance water to one gallon Process: Use a clean 1 gallon carboy Dissolve honey in some warm water and put in carboy Wash orange well to remove any pesticides and slice in eights --add orange (you can push em through opening big boy -- rinds included -- its ok for this mead -- take my word for it -- ignore the experts) Put in raisins, clove, cinnamon stick, any optional ingredients and fill to 3 inches from the top with cold water. ( need room for some foam -- you can top off with more water after the first few day frenzy) Shake the heck out of the jug with top on, of course. This is your sophisticated aeration process. When at room temperature in your kitchen, put in 1 teaspoon of bread yeast. ( No you don't have to rehydrate it first-- the ancients didn't even have that word in their vocabulary-- just put it in and give it a gentle swirl or not)(The yeast can fight for their own territory) Install water airlock. Put in dark place. It will start working immediately or in an hour. (Don't use grandma's bread yeast she bought years before she passed away in the 90's)( Wait 3 hours before you panic or call me) After major foaming stops in a few days add some water and then keep your hands off of it. (Don't shake it! Don't mess with them yeastees! Let them alone except its okay to open your cabinet to smell every once in a while. Racking --- Don't you dare additional feeding --- NO NO More stirring or shaking -- Your not listening, don't touch After 2 months and maybe a few days it will slow down to a stop and clear all by itself. (How about that) (You are not so important after all) Then you can put a hose in with a small cloth filter on the end into the clear part and siphon off the golden nectar. If you wait long enough even the oranges will sink to the bottom but I never waited that long. If it is clear it is ready. You don't need a cold basement. It does better in a kitchen in the dark. (Like in a cabinet) likes a little heat (70-80). If it didn't work out... you screwed up and didn't read my instructions (or used grandma's bread yeast she bought years before she passed away) . If it didn't work out then take up another hobby. Mead is not for you. It is too complicated. If you were successful, which I am 99% certain you will be, then enjoy your mead. When you get ready to make different mead you will probably have to unlearn some of these practices I have taught you, but hey--- This recipe and procedure works with these ingredients so don't knock it. It was your first mead. It was my tenth. Sometimes, even the experts can forget all they know and make good ancient mead. __________________ N.G.W.B.J. Autumn - the site's been pretty dodgy lately, which doesn't help, but I've found the black ball best for me. I know it sounds stupid to say that on-line balls (bowling balls, that is) have weight like real ones do, but it does seem to be the case.
Got a giggle today. Hubby took a couple of his sub-contractors out for lunch (tis the season and all) and the waitress hit on hubby, gave her ph# and all. Hubby said, thanks but I don't think the wife would appreciate bringing her home. The guys were all pissy for the rest of the afternoon

I'm the woman who had her favourite mouse, when he was past 8 years' old, which is very ancient for a mouse, down her bra, wrapped in bubble wrap and foil, trying to save his life.

Herin - Margaret Minipig is doing fine. Her stitches are all still in, but the wound seems to have healed. She's been eating much more this past week, so, hopefully, she will get to weight a kilo soon.

My daughter and I have been discussing what to do re Margaret. Going out to the heated shed again (it's degrees below what the spare bedroom's heat is) might be too much of a shock. But she is missing her 2 sisters and they are missing her. Do we bring the other 2 inside also and then put them all back out into the big hutch again in spring/summer?

Guinea pigs are funny in that they have no compunction about taking food from under the nose or even outof the jaws of their loved ones, but they do miss their loved ones when they aren't around.

Jac my cat being white soaks up the sun then moves when she gets too warm. She also is good when she wants out i put one loop of the harness on then the second and she walks out. if she wants in she follows me back in other wise dead kitty and not moving

I'm more concerned about why the long pale blue middle of the room lightshade with black pom poms all around the top and bottom edge gave me nightmares, and why I could never relax in the back bedroom of our cottage in Wales. My 2 male cousins slept in there with no probs. I could hardly enter the room, even in daylight.

My parents tried to force me to sleep in there by removing the nightmare lampshade. But I still couldn't sleep in that room.
