hi lore!
a comic i was reading today posited a Komma Klansman to accompany the Grammar Nazi. LOL
he speaks in 'stralian...
hopefully mine will change to the icon...
I refreshed...hmmm maybe later
kitten asleep between and on my legs and partly under the laptop
I think my grammer changed with the icon
Or spelling - whatever!
cj, very pretty, colourful
de 6
is that grammar??
I thought 'stralian was also called strine
LOLOLO!! you wally
Call me Bruce
no, his was spelling, but it brought it to mind :)
wish I could tell you what it exactly is, I didn't save all the info when I saved the picture.
cj -- is that comets colliding?
at least because I don't do the grid puzzle I get more time to think about my responses
I will get better about saving info from now on though
my phantom is perforate
cjmomma - please don't record this
there are a few of us here who are grammar (and spelling) nazis but some of us (like me) are also typoholics
np

Oh jillibus - I understood what you were a long time ago - and apologise in advance for playing with it. It's like waving a piece of cotton in front of a kitty.

Not yet, nan --will do now...

lol don't I know... same here. Don't have the 11 yet, sorry.
just emerged, sprite :)
hi jilli :) Just wanted to tell you how much I like your icon and writeup.
over halfway now, busy with the list :)
thanks, sprite -- dear old wikipedia :)
wtg jilli!
and google
I like wikipedia a lot.
speaking of which, does anyone of you know a good remedy for an inflamed eye?
Caya has one and it is not going away as fast as I thought it should.
a doctor, sprite. No fooling around with eyes.
it is not the eye itself, jilli, but the eyelid.
a stye, sprite?
let me look that up, lol, don't know the word.
like a pimple on the lid, sprite
it is not really a pimple, her upper eyelid is swollen.
I still say doctor, sprite!
I wish scrabbler were here.
ok, then doctor it is! Will call right away.
Let me know what happens, please, and hope it's a simple thing.
I think it is nothing serious, but it won't go away.
busy...
keep trying!
whole world seems to be calling the doctor, lol, I cannot even get into the waiting queue
11 is a compound
Does anyone have a good clue for te11?
seesaw, jai
te10
ok, got the assistant. She will check with the doctor whether they need to see Caya or not. Since she has not trouble seeing at all, she will probably get an eye drop medicine that should help.
wow that is a fun word, thanks
that sounds good, sprite
yes it certainly does. I can call this afternoon to hear what the doctor said. And when she doesn't have to see Caya, the medicine will be at the drugstore this afternoon too.
thanks for helping me think, jilli :)
Glad it helped :)
sure did. I often have trouble deciding, as you know :)
so do I, sprite -- it's hard sometimes
my therapist says it is part of my illness. Seems decision-making is partly enabled by certain hormones in the brain, which are always on the low side with me. And partly it is because I am so very afraid of making the wrong decision. She calls it an invisible handicap.
I'm trying to decided what to do about Christmas -- how to get together with my little family -- go there (how?) or have them come here (daunting -- five of them and a dog)
oh yes, I totally empathise with that. Tough decision to make. I would say: go there in the most comfortable way you can afford, and have them take care of you.
Trouble is there's no comfortable way, dammit! Either a long drive after the ferry or go as a foot passenger, lugging presents ( too late to mail them and I haven't finished shopping). I can put some of them up here in a hotel and hope they'll do the cooking.
can't they pick you up from the ferry?
yes, but it still means lugging a bagful of presents ON the ferry, and back. No place to park them.
Never mind -- something will work out
then I think you should ask them to come collect you!
they can do the carrying then, and drive you to their home from the ferry.
My last word is the nine- pe9. Any clues? I have looked and looked....
and looked and looked
lol jai, I don't have it yet, but will start looking now.
HELP!!!!
that would take all day. I have to take 2 ferries to get to the mainland -- one is 35 minutes and the other an hour and a half -- if you make the connection. Then the drive is about an hour and three quarters -- usually through pouring rain at this time of the year.
add 3 letter before a bo word that you already have.
hi MGuy!
hi jilli
Fireworks!!! Whew! Now I can go to bed!
Thanks MGuy!
wtg jai
YAY jai!!!
I obviously don't have the right bo6 word
really tough decision, jilli. If you'd rather stay home, the hotel plan sounds good and don't HOPE they will cook, ask them to. Or order food.
it is a chemical, jili!
HI
ends in to speak loudly and (hopefully) eloquently :)
hi lady
snuggles
nitey nite *poof
night jai
night Jai
well, we'll see. They're too busy right now to work this out -- D-I-L is directing the annual school play (Pride and Prejudice) and son is doing the sets -- performances Dec 11 - 13 and 17 - 19, plus he is working on a publicity campaign for Dorjechang (Buddhists)
perhaps you should give it a rest then? And simply tell them you'd love to celebrate Xmas together but that you need it to be comfortable for you?
ah, got the pe9 -- ty -- the chemical did it for me :)
wtg jilli
b reg
sorry, mistyped a space in there
could say to prick or stab with a diff central cons :)
yes indeed :)
may I ask for a clue for the ad7 I can't see?
more proficient?
oh, fishy, but a clumsy word
this grid isn't that friendly
thanks!
hi herin :)
yes it is, and it loops too
HI Jill
isn't it? Am finding it very agreeable, but I still need some more words.
some words are really tied in knots
I like your comet, btw, lady
I have 32 left and it's banana-and-milk time -- back tomorrow for a bit
morning all
hi Katie
Thank you sprite
bye jilli, sleep well dear one.
yes, herin, lovely comet -- its last appearance was somewhat disappointing as I recall
hi katie -- happy babbling
night sprite, and good luck with caya's eyelid!
thanks!
night jilli ,hi katie how are you?
and *poof*
Night Sprite.
damn. Night Jill
Hi Katie.
night lady
What is wrong with Caya?
she has an inflamed eye, or eyelid rather.
Sorry for the confusion im not going any where
Hi Diem, good thanks. Mari phoned on Saturday, she is having a good time. How's you?
ouch. ANy idea?
Doing good tks
HI Diem
hi herin
usually cleaning it with cooked water is enough. But it is almost a week now and still swollen. So just called the doctor, will hear this afternoon whether she wants to see Caya or will prescribe a medicinal eyedrop. Probably the last, because Caya has no problem seeing.
OK Sprite tea tree oil is good but it is best for you to see the doc
tea tree oil near the eye? I think not.
It is on the lid watered down AS AN ADULT. but as a kid no to sensitivve
yeah Caya is only 10.
lol and if she heard me say that, I would be in trouble, because she is certain she is already 10!
It is good on sty's but as she is a little one see the doc. Plus its an eye not something to play about with
thanks for caring, lady :)
I have been using witch hazel on my face to clear up acne. Icky pain in the butt. My friend uses tea tree oil on her eye with a stye but she knows its a sty and has seen a doc and all that
I use tea tree oil for lots of things. But I am very careful with eyes.
did the witch hazel work?
Yes. When in doubt and all that
yes exactly
I am really liking witch hazel. In 3 days a very ugly lumpy pimply thing was on my cheek. It is now just a mark
sounds good
It is really good stuff and cheap.
Diem, just caught up, December 6th & 7th on the way to you :-)
Katie how is the kittys?

Ah, just tried refreshing. I'm done now.

It must've missed the fe6 when the site went red and did the 'wo4 couldn't be added' thing.
I've had that happen before also

Clue for the PE please i don't get babs

If it's pe9, If it had an 'f' as the 4th letter it would mean to make holes in, as in toilet paper to rip it along, or tear-off slips. Change the 4th letter.

I'm assuming the te11 is a compound, but have tried every ridiculous combo I can see. Any hints?
G'd morning MM
think seesaw eva
te6 + bo5
hmm-thought I
te 11 is a ridiculous compound imbalanced + a plank
thought I'd tried all of those, but I guess not
The whole grid was ridonculous...
merb a

she's busy Drying
Ahh, eau du wet dog. Lovely.
eau de wet dog with added pond we4
Are the 7 words obvious? Im not looking for clues our anything?
almost nothing in this grid is obvious, except for Merp, as you noted
not very
How is the fuzz butt?
which fuzz butt are you refering to?
Merp
no wo4 is obvious to those who have not found them
I am happy to report that I made to more than 1/2 way! Now I can open the list. maybe then I will get some E's from that lower right one
he's actually not with me right now. I came down to Boston for the weekend and a cat loving neighbor is caring for him. It sounds like he's doing fine though and I'll see him tonight. We thought, for such a short trip, it would be less stressful for all concerned to leave him in Vermont. But we'll see. Usually when I've been away for any length of time he is incredibly effusive in his greeting and then some time during the next 24 hours sneaks up and bites me really hard.
good call
oh, and Good morning all
Eva that sounds cat like. Mine does it to get attention and then play tag
Hi phan
how are you herin?
eva, did you like boston? that's where I live....
This biting isn't playful at all.....it almost seems as if he has all of this nervous energy stored up from the absence and just has to release it. Sort of like static electricity.
Trifioso-we live part time in Vermont (most of the time), but still have our place in JP where we lived for many years. Where are you?
Eva my cat does that if you don't feed her NOW. Trifs lovely area. Phan I am good
actually down on the south shore, but i am in boston a lot for diff things.
we feel so lucky to live here! 20 mins to the beach, 20 mins to the city, 60 to the mountains, woods all around. perfect situation!
good morning everyone:)
Lovely Trifs. Sounds like her e
Lovely Trifs. Sounds like her
here not her
wow hi cross
Sounds wonderful. There are very few things I miss when in Vermont, but easy access to the ocean is one of them. The MFA, and ethnic diversity are the others. Vermont is incredibly beautiful and quiet and incredibly white bread.
so, EM?

the usual reason. most ppl are stupid
that is what i think
dont use facebook so i dont have that problem:) but i get yer point
But if your profile is locked, who can see it?
Facebook users need to be aware of the latest worm unleashed there. Yet another reason I avoid Facebook like the plague........
I dont post anything public any were.

oh,that reminds me herin,if you get any msn mail fro me for the last 3 days or so please erase them unread
Thanks for that Lori and Cross. I usually delete spam
Nono, Facebook is one of the worst formats available today for a plethora of reasons, but to each their own.
I found my family on facebook so i wont bag it for that
ok, so the TE 11 is it a compound word and does it relate at all to the 6/18 above it?
I agree Lori, I closed my account there for privacy reasons among others
Yes phand add a word to it
unless it has a personalized heading, its not from me.i had a gift company from the states break into my msn acct and compromise my adress book then procedded to seand spam to everyone in that list using my name

Newbie here, just thought I'd say hi to everyone!
gm bubble and welcome
hi bubble!
hi bubble
back to bed for me, bbl
it's customary for newbies to bring Cinnabons
nite flosey
Hi guys, thanks for the welcome
lol - I'll remember that for next time!
howdy bubble:)
and cheesecake please!
COFFEE...don't forget the coffee
ok ok, will do :0)
as you can see, the initial investment is a little expensive
(sorry, bubble, I'm just going to use you as an example - why don't most newbies say hi so nicely rather than going GIMME CLUES! I WANT CLUES!)
but look at all the new friends you'll have
hehehe..... true enough
I guess I'm just an unusually nice person, lol!
not that our affection can be bought or anything....
Hello everyone!
we like nice people!
hi annie!
{{annie}} how are you?
I am easily bought...cheesecake!
Hi {{carlee}}, Ata and Owl
morning, Jean and welcome to bubble
if crossy is here, hi!
*passes around the cinnabons...and the cheesecake...and the coffee...!*
boy, this bubble is one quick study, I have to say!
howdy annie...temproary chaos in da house...

haven't (yet)m asked for a clue. but good feeling to say HI!, what
thanks, bubble...
hi gshru!
hi
ohhh i came back just in time for cinnabuns!! thanks Bubble and hello
cheesecake....yummm... life can continue today
Hi again. It was gshru my grand daughter poaching on my preserve. This is Atmaram
good morning, Nono
You're welcome everyone - what better way to make friends than with cheesecake?!
cheesecake just sounds soooo good today
someone say rabbits?..err i mean cheesecake?
it does... hmmm..where can I buy cheesecake today?
wait..i have loads of cream cheese..might have to bake one tonight
bunny cheesecake. with a tuft in the centre
with cinnabons.
mmm what flavour, carlee?
we do love rabbits really, bubble!
lol - I believe you :0)
one of our players has house bunnies, and they are adorable, but crossy is always pretending to eat them
haha - ok, good to know!
actually, a few ppl have bunnies, don't they? scrabs, dcseain, jac maybe?
Rabbit Lady is here!! Miss Beatrix Bunny is right next to me now.
Hi Scrabs :)
I need a sympathetic ear this morning and God knows I never ask for anything :-\
perfect timing!
*hugs Jean in advance*
It was 12 degrees F when I went to bed last night and it is up to 16 now. Brrrr.
Jean, what is the matter?
Yes, Jean.
ty ata
Hi Scrabbs
scrabbs! bunnies!:)
(((Jean))) whats up?
I have a VERY old shih tzu
gotta run....get ready for work..ttfn all
Bye Carlee
he is the last of the 3 dogs we had, two died after my husband did
bye, carlee, stay warm
Crossy--the bunnies say hi!
byeee Carlee
this one is the last one standing
and ..... *looks worried*
((Jean))--this is VERY hard stuff with our beloved companions.
oh dear
( sorry jean... {{hugs}} ... am sorry to hug and run but I have to get to work )
I realize he is very old and frial and is not going to last much longer but I was kind of hoping he'd go quietly in his sleep and I wouldn't have to make the decision
it's much easier on the owner, certainly
{{{Jean}}}
now he is barely eating or drinking
sometimes there come a time when we must offer our old pet the final kindness and it is hard:(
he stumbles around bumping into the walls
Jean, I know how you feel. Is the little guy in pain?
My vets have always said: if they stop eating then they do not want to live anymore, AND euthanasia is the last LOVING thing we do for our pets. I had old bunny Callie put to sleep in May.
he'll let you know, Jean. You'll look at him one day and go "that's enough"
you read my mind scrabbs
Nan, I think I was trying to convince myself that he isn't/wasn't because he didn't cry
but lately he has been moaning
it is time then sweetie. It is the best thing you can do for him
dogs like several things: playing, eating, drinking, sleeping, weeing/pooing. If he's not doing much of that, he's - well -
It is time to let him go, as hard as that is.
Jean, I had to make that decision and it was very hard but I had to be kind to my pet. You can give him peace.
it's the last thing to can do to show him you love him, Jean
you're all telling me what I guess I knew but couldn't stand to face
Scrabs, I'm so sorry. I was unaware that you had put Callie to rest. I was really out of the loop to miss that
not surprised! it's an almost impossible thing to face
((Jean + doggy))--make an appt and then just love him up. What is his name?
Rocky
Good morning all and hugs to Jean and Scrabbs.
awww
hi Nonnie
Yes, Nono, same as Jean, dreading the reality, but she was becoming crippled from lower spine arthritis.
he is all bones
((Jean + Rocky))
he can barely walk
I must be an idiot
Call the vet, Jean.
no, Jean, you are not. You just want him there, of course you do!
I will miss him so much
I went thru similar circumstances a few years ago with my beloved Majic cat
but there comes a time when you *must* think of them
Jean, Let Rocky go...call the vet and make an appointment...so hard but it has to be done
Nono, I got a foster bunny 3 wks after Callie died, and she is officially mine now. She came named Bijou but I call her Miss B, for Beatrix Potter.
It is so very hard on us humans but you must thing of your little friend and his comfort
Let him go, Jean. You WILL miss him, but you gave him a great life.
now see Scrabs, I knew about the foster bunny becoming permanent for you
none of us can tell you what to do, Jean. you know what is best. be brave enough to do what your head tells you
Jean, someday, when you are ready, you will give another dog a privileged life of love.
thank you all
can barely breathe from crying right now
And then you will say, I LOVE this dog evn though I miss my old ones.
*darling Jean* I think we all know how you feel
((Jean))--I am crying now too.
{{Jean}} I am crying with you.
we've all been there and done it, and it's one of the worst things in the world. but Rocky trusts you and trusts you to help him
tears are in my eyes as well
it is pretty pitiful to see him this way
This is heartbreaking
I look out at my pet cemetery in the woods and I have 4 bunnies buried there. I miss them BUT I love my current ones so much too. We give our pets great lives, say good-bye, then love up some new ones.
then let him find peace, Jean
I appreciate this all of you
go and phone up the vet, Jean. Tell him about Rocky and get his opinion too. Sometimes it helps having an "official" opinion
It is because you love him so much that this hurts AND that you know what you must do for him.
Dear Jean, we love you and are with you all the way and we love Rocky and will let him go.
you are all official enough for me
Espirt it is time to let Rocky go. Sorry to join the conv so late.
and is there someone nearby who can go with you? or be around to help?
jean, make sure to look up a poem online called "the rainbow bridge" = it helped my children and I so much when we lost a pet
Take care of Rocky, Jean and then hold your memories of him close at heart
Then, when you are ready, Jean, make a scrapbook with photos and stories and favorite memories.
oh that is an excellent idea Trifioso
I will Trif ty
Jean -- it will be one of the most difficult yet one of the most humane things you can do. Had a mini Schnauzer for 17 years. Had to let her go in '95 but heart still goes crazy when I see another mini. Will be thinking of you and Rocky. Hugs.
Rocky is at least 18
18! wow! what a life!!!
What a great age!
mornin babblers!
(Ata)
Jean, Did you spoil Rocky with love?
how lucky you have been to have had him that long
morning Eva
here is the link for the poem: http://www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/r ainbowb.htm
HI FM and Eva
ty
Hello Annie :)
18 years old! Wow! That is a reflection of the love and great care he has received.
I'm afraid to look at it right now it will probably put me into hysterics
it's actually pretty comforting, but you do what you need...save the link for when you are ready
don't read it now. read it later.
Jean, then dont read the poem now...save it for when you can and want to
ok, I've gotta get a grip now
thank you again, I truly appreciate this
{{Jean}}}
((jean))
Jean, we are with you and Rocky. You will be sad for a long time and always miss him, but be proud of giving him a great life.
you can form sentences, you're in pretty good condition for someone going through this! ((jean))
weeeeee FIREWORKS!
I have a picture of Buster (named by my daughter when she was 7) on my dresser. I still miss him but I know I did the right thing. It was hard but I loved him too much to see him suffer.
go nono!
it is hard , ive had to give many of our pets the final kindness when we had our farm, but since dog and cats never lie, always love, never cheat, and always adore then be sure they go to a better place when they leave thier tired bodies
yaaa for nono! 21 gun salute for you!
wtg nono and good morning all
well said, crossy
crossy what a lovely way to say that
now I must try to do something productive..... ((((Jean))) I will be thinking of you and Rocky thru out the day
Yahoo nanette!!
ty
good morning all
hi teach
howdy wvteach;)
good morning teach
Hi wvteach.
hi teach
and hello to you too, jmc- didn't mean to slight you there...
it's okay it was an intense conversation when I dropped in
which p does the nine start from, please?
howdy jmc:)
Trif, the bottom right
hi cross
Anyone have a clue for the 11?
ty
bichon - it is a ridiculous compound. think unbalanced plank
there is a 11? now im scared;/
got it. Thanks so much Trif
i am just lost on the nine, but i will keep monkeying away
I missed jmc sneaking in too. Hi jmc.
OMG! that was a great clue... LOL
I am a lurking lawyer :-)
Trif, prefix + ** Derek + interest ****
lol so business as usual eh jmc? lol sorry ill hold off on the lawyer jokes
I know them all
What is the prefix?
thanks bichon.
***cent
jmc - what kind of lawyer are you?
yw Trif
whats the difference between a lawyer and a trampoline? you take your shoes off to jump on a trampoline;))) ok thats it i promise:)
TY, bichon, I was entering surf ***** instead of ** Derek.
I represent people who have decided that killing for the government is not what God intends for them to do. . .and tax law to make money
yw Scrabs
wow. good for you!!! what area of the country are you in?
? killing for the govt...military?
jmc that's a weird combination
yes
you mean people who've decided it after they joined up?
Now that I have the 9 I need more help with that 11.
that was my first thought scrabbs
Hi Hurshy
still looking for the 11 myself
hurshY! didn't know you were hiding in here....
seesaw and the chairman of the ***** of directors
Scrabs, think of a playground. They don't have them anymore. The first part means to walk unsteadily. The second part is a plank
smurshy!
yaa ty br;)
hi all
the regulations provide for it. People who join with the best of intentions sometimes come to a realization that when Jesus said to love your enemies he didn't mean to kill them
ooooooo - pretty icon BR
yes, i just thought i'd confirm, since if you were relying on draftee business i would think things would have been pretty slow the last few decades :)
again, good for you jmc.
tywm BR! I could get the unbalance but the plank alluded me
hurshy!!! pb for you!
lol hursh but still plenty of scared mamas out there on the draft
that's a real word? i thought i made it up
ah well
YT for the 11. I knew the second half but didn't see the first word.
don't worry, I left some scones and tea on my last visit.
er ty not yt
jmc - my kids and I are all dual citizens, and if the draft gets started up again, we are OUTTA here
one more great irony ---- wanting to deport immigrants but now accepting green card holders into the military
ooo I need my coffee scrab I thought I wrote the yt
US and where, Trif?
ireland
Where is your other citizenship, Trif?
they would have to give up the US citizenship and never come back in most cases I would have to look up ireland and that is too much like work this early
you can register your status at a conscientious objector now to avoid potential dr5s in future.
Cool. I have 2 Irish families in my practice. I love listening to them speak.
LOL jmc
actually we have accepted non citizens in the military for a long time--we have recruiting stations in Mexico and Germany
isnt it true that the US doesnt recognize dual citizenship? i thought i heard that somewhere...
checkk out how to register as a CO at my webpage at www.centeronconscience.org
I'm not so sure that's true. I know Israelis can
did you know that around 700 US citizens have signed up for the French Foreign League over the years
This grid is constipated with consonants in the middle and I find it rather annoying.
my dh actually was considering joining the military back in the 80s, as it was a means to citizenship, or at least a green card, and the regular channel tood for ever ever ever
eva - the US does not grant dual, but it recognizes that other countries do, which is how I have mine
the stop loss program resulting in multiple deployments is such a tragedy for the troops and their families
US doesn't let you keep citizenship of other country but some other countries do...and some people are born with a dual citizenship and there is nothing the US can do about that
ahh, thats must be what i heard. :)
Ata, there was an article about that in the NY Times last week. They are in French Guyana training. It's tough
the stop loss makes me very angry even more so the people who think they have been discharged and then get called back
jmc - they let me keep my us passport when I became an irish citizen
so if I moved to the US, I'd have to give up my Brit passport? *horror*
Aha, I see you there, jmc. Nice site and work.
my parents are from jolly old england...instead of being citizens, they are "subjects of the queen" apparently you cant denounce that...
ata - you can get it right back when you go back to britain, if britain will let you have two
yes, britain does
"Hi, I'm American. I just sound British"
thanks scrab
women deployed to iraq or afghanistan have a greater chance of being assaulted by a fellow soldier than getting killed and often are redeployed with the same one that assaulted them
well, then, you are all set. Yes, you would have to surrender your british passport to become a citizen of the us, but then, as I said, you just go back in england, tell them what happened, and then you get your brit one back.
now I need to focus for a few ***putting blindres on**
oh good. I refuse to not be british ever again!
Let allow jmc to be a Babbler and not a lawyer.
*wishes she were british*
ugh, that is hideous BR. I keep hearing how Barack Obama needs extra secirty details, but not to protect him from foreign assassins, but rednecked, white supremist americans. greeeeeeaat
**peaki doublng out of blinder** actually women who join the military increase the likelihood of sexual assault by double and then another double in combat areas **closing blinders again**
exactly, hurshy! I'm not giving that up!!
And I must get ready for a tennis match, then work, then a 3rd on-call night in a row.
sing it with me "and I'm proud to be an american....."
yuck scrab... why?
Partner is away and another partner wanted the weekend off and I am off Wed-Sunday. So I have to survive thru tomorrow at 2:30 and then I am free for 5 days. Yippee! I want to cross-country ski in the woods!
I'd like to be Irish.
Bye kids. Enjoy the day!
*ouchie!!* gotta rip a band-aid from my arm... 1-2-3!!
go!
I am proud to be an American and always happy when my job lets me travel. No so proud of all the things we do.
*whew!!* i think im gonna shave my arm before putting another plaster back on there!
wow, that is an excellent way to put it!
I have been traveling to ireland since 1989, and the past two times we were there, last year and the year before that, we experienced our first taste of outwardly displayed anti-american sentiment. It made me so sad.
It comes up when I speak. People are always accusing me of not being proud of America. Darn holes in these blinder! ;-0
nationalism is pretty silly though, when you get right down to it. everyone being proud of where they were born, just cause they were born there. imagine if i were proud of being born in worcester, massachusetts. that would be weird.
I think it's hard for other countries to separate anti-american feeling, and individual americans
lol hurshy!
I'm proud to have been born in Brooklyn
after all the crap about supporting the troops is over some vietnam veterans are still fighting for health care related to agent orange; gulf war syndrome was recognized by in an independent study but the head of the va referred it for more study; and 11 indiana national guardsmen are suing a private contractor for being poisoned on the jpb
no I am a texan too so I am proud to be from there [no Bush jokes pls]
i think we suck at it. How many lovely, wonderful muslims where unfairly attacked by americans in the past few years, here on american soil? shameful and ignorant
we treat our vets terribly I wish more of the military money went to their care
bush has carl rove heading his legacy project
right on, BR! If you want an interesting conversation, walk up to someone sporting a "we support our troops" sign and ask them exactly how they are doing that.
just terribly
oh, I did just that exact thing to my eedjit of a brother in law. you should have SEEN the tap dancing that ensued
suicides are up 300.000 with ptsd
it's very odd to me. i mean, you have no control over where you were born. but then again, i'm not one of those people that's proud to be from my family, either.
and I'm always amazed how well you all treat your veterans ...
we TRY to do right by our vets. but the cracks in the system are as wide as the atlantic...and sometimes people get shoved into the void...
sorry to hear about your family hursh ;-)
but the stuff they get! license plates with vet written on them! people are proud of them! veteran's day! people thank forces people!
i do not believe our government tries
most people just see veterans day as another holiday to get off work...
they say veterans are volunteers making then fungible commodities
- okay, on a babble-related topic - man, i am grid locked! I got just so far and whammo. not another w4. I so want to finish a grid without listing, but I guess that is not today! 38 words hiding in an impenetrable block of letters.
suicide is the number on noncombat cause of death in the US military-----part of it is we draf. . . er. . ."recruit" people when they are 17 through 21
it's not that i'm NOT proud to be from my family, or that there's anything particularly wrong with them :) it's just one of those things where i don't feel particular attachments to things i happen to be part of.
but at least you *have* such a thing
use and abuse them and them kick them to the curb
I'M at the dreaded fourteen.
but you can't eat a license plate, ata
ata dear, you have armistice day too, don't you?
ata - you all have national health.
I gotta go if I am doing to do this much work I might as well do it at work! :-)
any E words out there in clue land?
no, but it's amazing to me that people have such things. I wouldn't have a *clue* who was a veteran over here. Not a clue. there's none of the pride you lot feel in your vets
[poof]
it always amazes me when I see army people wandering around in their uniforms over there too. That's just strange
e w4 - living on the ****
ty
got those 2 now
i felt that way the first time I went up to belfast, and saw the soldiers with machine guns, and all the barbed wire. I pretty much left tire tracks getting outta there. Okay, I went to Monsoon first, and THEN I left
when did you lose it, ata? cause, i mean, armistice day WAS a big deal there 100 years ago, if the fiction of the period is any indication
eg5/14, bird
em 5 -- add candy or crow ***
yes, we have armistice day, but the emphasis is on remembrance of teh dead in most cases
TY
em 5 --- add long or cross ***
actually ata, the fact that you have all those lovely monsoon shops and we have none is a real tragedy, in my humble opinion
and that is the Es- thanks!!!
Remembrance Day is still a big thing over here. It's just that you don't get a sense of pride in the armed forces most of the time, mainly because people may disagree with the political decisions that have sent them to certain spheres of conflict.
looooolo *smug*
Hello, Haz
HAZ!!!!! let the celebrations begin
and issues with continual terrorism - we don't have armed forces walking around in unifrom etc,m they are just targets
Haz!!! Bring out the champagne, Haz is here!!
Good morning/afternoon all.
ooh, somebody upload the mimosas!
lori? where did you leave George?
Thank you for the nice welcome.
good morning, Haz, so happy to see you
Missed You,Missed your clues welcome back Haz,
Thank you Annie.
Thank you Yvo, nice to be back.
how's la glitterata?
The Spangly one is fine, thank you. She knows to stay away from pondweed....
sensible girl!
Has the Eaudour of wet dog subsided?
pretty much
You didn't have to use the husband's expensive after-shave or anything?
hints for the A?
it has always seemed to me that you brits just didn't feel the need to flaunt things. but perhaps i have misunderstood the culture.
no, just soap and water this time! cold water, of course
ad5 i'm good at that ad7 i'm better
Ah, the cold water treatment. And withholding of gruel, I take it?
great clue, hurshy
but of course!
I think you may be right, hurshy. We're more kind of hiding lights under bushels sorts.
her face was very funny though, as she stood in the middle of the pond on the ice, and then the ice suddenly cracked and she fell through (only about 6 inches)
Good morning, one and all.
Poor Hobbit!
Good morning Judi.
hi Judi
I do not consider supporting troops flaunting
yes but you're not british :)
did we flaunt?
nono
one's perspective about war may dramatically change when the bullets are coming my way
what i'm saying is that americans have a different psyche than brits
No, I don't either, Babble, it's just that we don't have the means to do it in the same way as you might have in the States.
Babble, not bombs!
firebirds!
i have 10 to go
30% P's
Congratulations Ata!
Good job Ata!

YAY for Ata!!
just in time to go to boggle my local postmistress sending registered delivery parcels to Switzerland and other parcels to Poland. And then going to get my windscreen fixed. That disturbs me
I'm sure the postmistress will welcome the challenge.
tempt preempt toward regret
Has your windscreen cracked?
hi a ll
oh no, anything above "Can I have a 1st class stamp?" and she looks long-suffering and put-upon
TO!
unfortunately, yes
Hello TO!
Hi Owl!
***rubs eyes*** Is it a bird, is it a plane? No! It's Haz!
hi TO!
Hi Lori!
Yes, Lori, your eyes do not deceive you.
where did you stash George, Lori?
Of course, George could be part of the reason I haven't beeen here. He needed such help learning his lines..
Oooh. Speaking of good looking blokes, saw "Australia" this weekend. I must say, Hugh Jackman was delicious.
Hey Annie, TO haz, everyone. I knew George would work..... Good bait is important
isn't he people's sexiest man alive this year?
did you like the movie? it's been panned
Just this year, hurshy? How about 'of all time'?
i hope it was good...it looks really good
Well, TO, it was drippingly romantic and entirely predictable, but the scenery (besides Hugh) was breath-taking.
no, not george, haz, hugh jackman
It's a total chick flick.
yes i did hear that the cinematography was good
But, I'm a chick, so I dug it.
Hugh who? I wish you could hear the disgust in my voice.
one P7 or 2?
I saw Hugh Jackman in The Boy from Oz on Broadway and his interaction with the audience was the highlight of the musical. He had a woman come up on stage and hugged her. I thought she was going to faint
sorry haz, i wasn't on the committee
1
Have you seen him with his shirt off, Haz? Methinks you'd not be so disgusted.
I'll have to google this Hugh person. Not that I'm remotely worried on George's account.
hoisted up by his own pe
of course i'd pick james roday, but that's only because he's so perfect for ME!
hugh is rather pretty
ooh thanks brabble, that was my last 6 letter
Haz, George is still Numero Uno.
now what is my last 7? i have ad, bo, drx2, pe
bo 7
I've just looked him up. No contest in my book.
te
He's more rugged in Australia. He was a little skinny and girly while doing the Broadway thing. Much improved now!
ty ata, got it!
5 left and they are all 4's, i LOVE when that happens
Does he have a strong Australian accent?
not really
Not a strong accent.. I would not have understood him
In the movie he does. In other things no. He was in X-Men. Had a yank accent in that.
The movie I saw with Nicole Kidman that I liked was The Hours
The way he yells out my name would be more exciting with a strong accent. :D
Love Aussie accents. PURRRRRRR.
in van Helsing he had a transylvanian / australian / american accent LOL
LOL, Lori!
i am so stuck. what is the f'in fa4,8 alreadY? the second one. I am sure it is completely stoopid and i am just bllinc
blind

Congratulations Merk.

running Yale? highly unlikely!
Yay, Merk!
Congratulations Merk
ty, see you in the morning
hello
God help Yale, in that case.
besides, i don't like to run things. or run for office. or have a run in my stocking. or a runny nosy. or go running. basically, me and run do not get a long.
woopsie, didn't mean to put a space there
i do like running water though
what department are you in?
absquatulate
*squirms* do i have to say? i don't want people to find me.
okay
Great word, BR. Too bad it's not in the grid.
I know, The Dept. of Strategic Initiatives
That's obfuscation
I have to run...will be back later to finish
be well, Annie
Hmph. Down to 46 and stuck in the fly paper.
See you later, Annie
anyone who was here earlier with my dog drama?
I read the log, Esprit.
well, I called the vet and told them I was coming in
and when I got in my car to take him, the battery was dead
that has NEVER happened
No....
Oh no, Jean!
a sign?
hmmm - does seem a sign from the universe, jean. how do you feel - really feel - inside - about the battery?
What did you do?
I'm shocked about the battery. My car is kept in a garage and the battery has never been a problem
are you relieved, or upset that you can't come in?
it does seem pretty queer
this just happened haz
I called the vet and told them to take me off the schedule for now
maybe it happened to help me be REALLY sure I am prepared to do this
okay. how does rocky seem?
Okay. Do you need to hear any more input?
sure
rocky is blind and deaf
he spends his day sleeping or literally walking around in circles bumping into walls
Is the bumping solely a result of his blindness, or is there an element of dementia?
lately he has been going behind doors or under tables and doesn't understand how to get out
he is very wobbly on his feet and has barely been eating or drinking
I think it's the blindness haz
I can't tell you what to do, Esprit, but I do have a lot of experience talking to people who are making the decision to have their dogs put to sleep.
I'm listening
It's very common for people who adore their dogs to find it really difficult to make the decision. They want someone else to make the decision for them but the vet will onlydo what you ask of him.
Rocky has had a good life up until now. You've loved him, looked after him and invested so much time and energy in meeting his needs. He has repaid that over and over in his love.
You have to ask yourself if Rocky still has any quality of life. If he's not in pain, if he's peaceful then by all means let him carry on, providing it isn't tearing your heart apart.
Some people can manage to watch their dogs deteriorating, others want intervention more quickly. It's up to you, Esprit, but you've loved him so far, and you have the right to make the decision for what's best.
I've only had a pet put to sleep once in my life. The little sh** looked at me with hate in his eyes right before the moment. And he had been miserable for a long time!
I'm not sure I could say he is peaceful, lately he does moan a little
But it was still the right thing to do
he's just so helpless
I'm sure that hate was for the vet, not you harpjane.
um, well with THIS cat, I'd say it was for me.....
But if he's sleeping most of the time, then he's not uncomfortable. If he's helpless to look after his own needs or to get pleasure out of life, then maybe the time has come to let him go.
He wanted to go home and beat up the other cats some more....
phantom obama
I do think it's time Haz, I was kind of hoping he would go quietly in his sleep
I hate that I will be holding him when he goes and there's no way I could NOT be holding him
I know. That would be the nicest way for him to go.
Have you anybody else who could give you a lift to the vets?
no, I just wnet over to my neighbor and they are not home
I will have to call for a battery charge anyway
I couldn't imagine not holding a beloved animal during it's final moments.
Esprit - ask for him to have a sedative first, that will make him drowsy. The second injection is very swift, he will feel no pain.
I know he won't, I had to do this once before and I know it's fast
(will the vet come out to you if you explain the circumstances?)
no ata
I hate to say it but this group is rather mercenary
awww. that's a shame
ok, I'd better take care of my situations here
sorry for that quick interjection. *hugs jean and rocky* I have to pop out. Good luck, dear. Do what your heart tells you is best for Rocky
thanks for listening again
And don't worry about being emotional. Sometimes our vets end up in tears, never mind the clients.
(((((Jean))))) We've all been there.
believe me, I will not be able to hold back if I wanted to
All the best, Esprit. I wish we could do more.
thanks
later
Bye Esprit.
when we were at the vets with Riley someone complained because we didn't have to wait as long as they did....then they felt embarassed when they found out why we were there
how many letters in the A's?
ad5 and ad7, ad7 being the comparative.
thanks
You're welcome.
all I need now is tha two long words, any help with pe9 and te11?
te11 is a compound word, combining the unsteady te6 with a word that sounds like it's having a dull time. (Think seesaw)
Haz!! How nice to see you :) Have just finished and thought I would take a look at the log.
Hello FMitch! I thought I'd show myself again.
Good for you hun :) Unfortunately I can't stop right now but lovely to see you.
pe9/72 - structured exactly as a word meaning to cut little holes in things, just change the fourth letter.
found te11, thanks
You're still working at full tilt, I take it?
tears to my eyes over vet story!
Hello billmster. Animals have a way of getting under our skin, don't they?
gdeet
yup and need to take a break for a while away from the screen. Good to see you billmster!
Oh Haz friend of my Mothers if off to Zanzibar on Saturday!
It'll be a lot warmer now than when we were there. If they like blue sea and white sand they're in for a treat.
She can't wait :)
Have you warned her about upside down postcards?
Anyway must pootle off, TTFN and good to see you.
See you later.
pootle?
Pootle. To move around gently, pootling is never vigorous.
is the te7 a regular w4, or one of those lovely babbler aboms?
hello all
hi, Haz, good to see you
Hello peri.
howdy peri
stuck with 54 left
te7 isn't normal to me. First three letters as with the preceding te4/5, add a writing instrument and a vowel.

Congratulations 3b.
Finito! That Pe9 is a whacko word.
I'll probably be embarassed for asking but I need clues for the te6/18's?
It joins the ranks of the newly encountered, that's for sure.
Hi all.......a clue please for pe9/72 please?
Both te6/18 are anagrams of each other. One is unsteady (as in a see-saw).
Hello Flask - pe9/72 is structured the same as the word meaning to put little holes in (think stamps). Change the fourth letter for another consonant.
I'm outta here, peeps. See you all tomorrow, same time, same channel...
See you Judi. Be good.
does the te11 build off the 6?
excellent Haz!....thankyou!
It does, harpjane. It's a compound word.
You're welcome, Flask.
okaaay.... (thinking)
The second part sounds like how teenagers feel at the prospect of a dull evening at home.
got it, helps when you count. i was trying to make a 9 letter word fit!
Glad you got there.
under the *****walk down by the sea ...
te6 after camped?
It's the anagram of the unsteady te6/18.
Ending in French summer, if that's any help.
Comes from the T in the far right column, harp
thanks that should help
got it
Okay, I'm going to head out and take Spangle for our afternoon walk. Happy babbling to all. Bye for now.
I am well over halfway but I still have one blank tile. I do hate words that begin with vowels; they are my Achille's Heel

Hi hydra
Hello caitlyn. Down to my final 6 words. How are you doing? I missed a whole week of Babble as I was in Cumbria at my sister's.
I bet your visit was much better than babble though :)
Actually.... yes! Hadn't seen my sister for 18 months, so it was great. And it snowed and was really beautiful in Patterdale, where she lives. There are some pics on my blog.

oh feather... how is he? how is you???
I was so worried after you left...
oy vey. we're both better, lol
what time did i come in? i forget
oh! thanks for that one smiles!
(((Feather)))
I can't remember... pretty late for you!
no problem
he woke up once at 9:30, let me do the ear drops at that time, and i crawled in bed with him then. woke back up at 12:30, i think that was when i came in here. after that time, we slept the rest of the night through.
glad you got some rest from that point!
the 12:30 one, he was fully awake, didn't want to lay down because it hurt. i had him semi-recline, and read a couple chapters of our magic tree house book. we tried the warm washcloth, but he hated it. he sometimes has sensory issues. i finally rememberd i had a rice sock. threw that in the microwave, laid it over his ear/head, and he was good about that.
I remember those nights. I would get so worried -- not earaches with us, but random fevers and huge coughing fits
some nights, I would sit in the tiny bathroom with the shower on full hot and let it fill with steam.
he so rarely gets earaches. this is maybe his 4th or 5th in his life. i used to get them a lot, and totally remember how bad they hurt.
and just hold the kid until he fell asleep...
yep, have done the shower thing
I used to get earaches, too. They were AWFUL. actually, I still do, but now I can self-medicate with decongestants and painkillers!
my mom was telling me about the time she had to take me to the ER for one, i was screaming so bad! middle of the night in the winter of course.
down to 28
oh feather! how scary for her!
how is the grid?
yeah, and she said there were all these people coming in from an accident, blood everywhere. i apparently didn't notice!
it's not bad feather, I think I played about 40 minutes last night and got down to abut 35? maybe it was closer to an hour.
ewww. just what a mother wants to see when her precious child is around.
cool, will dive in then. i seem to have killed the chat anyway with my medical kid woes!
okay, wanna race? *wicked grin*

well, we could talk about the MRSA my kid had that I ended up cleaning out... *insert gross yucky descriptions here*
go feather go!!!
recently???
a couple years ago. He doesn't sense pain as quickly or intensely as other people, so he had quite the well-established abscess by the time he told me.
MRSA? Do I want to know?
phone, brb
The docs prescribed antibiotics, but it wasn't to a head, so I took care of it when it was ready.
hello ladies
Hi, praise! It's been a long time!
LOL Jellen. NO. you don't want to know from this level anyway. Methycillin resistant staphylococcus aureus infection is NO FUN. but we were lucky it was mostly still in the skin and only a little into the muscle.

Oooh, yuck. My brother had staph problems when he was younger.

yes, but when we were young jellen, the MRSA was mostly confined to hospitals. Still, they were nasty even then. A good one to avoid.
Hey there, Stid.

well it was mainluy hubby
well, not making much progress. down to 27 so will hit the list
mainly that is
he is dealing with kidney disease

ty stid
kidney disease is no fun. I am sorry you have to deal with it.
have had to learn to cook differently too
that was hard to get used to
THAT is tough! when my allergies started to rear their heads about 16 years ago we had to find substitutes for all kinds of common things. I am glad I can eat eggs again.
oh wow wouldn't know what to do without my eggs either
this is a lot potassium diet
low that is
can't type tonight for some reason
hm. so I suppose you avoid bananas and tomatoes?
and then in the midst of all this--I find out that one of my dear friends has ALS
yes that and anything with a lot of sodium in it
how fishy is hte AD 7?
has to watch cheese too because of the phosphorus
oh praise! that is too bad. there was a segment on it recently on the news.

Watcha' watching, feather?
big bang theory. my new absolute favorite show.
I've seen that once...it was funny!
brb
thanks stid, I will a bit, but we like the fostering thing a lot - saves the pups from the kill shelters and lets them get back to healthy, well fed and loved before they go home
I only just heard about it today... on a survey that came through.
i'm also really enjoying "worst week"
wow, just monkeyed the fa5/22.
go feather go!
Well, it's time to think about our dinner. Something inspired no doubt. Love to all and poof.
I am so grateful for people like you dan! we can't afford that right now (no money for a fence), but we have taken in two dogs since we've been married. older, but lovely animals still
later mother! *waves*
Bye, stidgmere
I wonder how long I should wait before I accidentally have to visit her? *wicked grin*
but I wouldn't want to have puppies around without a fence.
Me, too, dan. I have a dog that doesn't get along with other dogs...so no fostering for us...
yeah its key - we've only been at it a few months (since the new house with the fence)

hold on... brb....
Oh Aussie sorry to hear that.
yes feather, Mother retired. That's why I helped in her classroom last year. It was my last chance (and she really needed the help -- 30 first graders).
She was my best friends cousin, and she was only 17 years old.......
of course *I* popped out when everyone returned. OH AUSSIE - I'm SO SORRY!!!!!
thank you all......
that is so sad... what a shame, aussieme
I am just trying to get my head round it right now.....
Aussie, just coming in now to hear your very sad news. so sorry for you and for this young lady's family
hello JBV
Hi, JBV
I can hardly see to type, I have so many tears rolling down my face....
Hello JBV, how is you family?
hi, stid - and jellen - and AsG -
I also have a soggy wet jumper....
Aussie....I think you need a bath, and bed...
i wish i had the right words for you
lemme go get some kleenex.... brb....
oh my dear... {{{{{{BIG hugs}}}}}}
speaking of - I'm going to go hug my kiddos.... I'll be back in bit... (((((AUSSIE))))
Well, this is me coming home from work on a 10 hour shift, to find a message on my facebook inbox.....
Aussie, that is very tragic - I hope you have someone there to comfort you - we are reaching out to you in babbleland but it is good to have someone with you
that's just a crummy thing, aussieme
I actually think that this year has been one of the worst I have seen for losing friends and family members......
I havent anyone right now.... Hubby is sleeping, he has to be up in 2 and a half hours for work.... (it's 20 to 2 am)
I know it's really late there Aussie, but a snuggle with Georgia might help.
Just me and my Babble Family here right now....
To reply to red and others who may have seen my posts recently - we are counting the little milestones in hubby's recovery, he's doing much better, NG tube is out, starting to take liquids, doctors very hopeful he will be home within a few days
that is great news JBV -- I am sorry I didn't know he was sick. But he is now on my "list"
Virtual Hug for you, Aussieme
Well, I almost said Georgia was asleep, but I hear her stirring, so, I think I am going to go and snuggle with her for a little while, she always makes me feel better, no matter what is happening around me..... Sweet Dreams Babble Family, and I am sorry for unloading on you all like that.... It wasn;t fair of me..... xxxxxxxxx
aussieme, you are in my heart. be well
**miserable poof**
no aussie, that's what we're here for. go hug georgia.
JBV that is great news, I bet he is glad to have his nose back.
And Aussie, I will be thinking of you.
hi, all

Hi, pam
I was disappointed that "grep" didn't count...
Jellen! Stid!
Fireworks, btw...
it means "search" in Unix code
YAY Jellen!!!!
yay jellen!
pam! you were in the grid yesterday
yes, red, the tube was really a problem for the throat, too - and I will take this opportunity to say how much it means to me to have the good wishes of the babble clan - I do not have a big support system around me right now, it's just me and my son doing our best to cope - and as a mom, of course I am concerned about how he is handling the anxiety and the worry
that is, in fact, the ONLY Unix word I know... LOL
oh, was I? thanks, stid...
(((JBV)))
Oh JBV, it isnt much be we are here for you.
i'm baaaack! didja miss me?
What red said!
any assistance for the ad 7??
I know you all won't think it's too selfish, but I have managed to carve out some babble time for myself every day
ad5 + comparative ending
AD 7 is the AD 5 only more do
more So...
(((JBV)))
thanks, stid and jellen
oh my fish me...
JBV, you MUST take care of yourself as well as your husband. Babble was the one luxury I ended up allowing my self this quarter even on the days that I was overwhelmed.
>*))<<
glad you are carving out some time for yourself, jbv. It is essential.
that's the way I see it too, stid - a little "me-time"
especially in times of stress, JBV
YES. that's what I mean. *offers JBV a pretty pink nailpolish and pedicure certificate*
well that's very relaxing just thinking about the virtual pedicure - thanks, stid!

Hi, Trif!
Hello Trif
hello jellen
Ok, so I just make words? Do they need to be connected?
hey! you made it! Everyone - meet my lovely sister, car. eeyore!!!
yup. it's just like boggle
Hi, car
clue for eg5?
god bless a knitter - in time, my whole family will get sucked in to the babble vortex....
egert
which one?
typed in wrong box
the only eg5
eg5 is a bird
oh, sorry - there is only one...you are on the right track. Think lovely, long sea bird
had an anagram
thanks
jellen were you on this morning?
Oh, no, Trif...slept really late today...
lucky you! Do you know espritdjean?
Yes, I know Esprit
I am so anxious to know how the rest of her day went. She was in absolute agony over whether or not to put her dog down....Ata, are you out there? Do you know if it all worked out????
clue for fa5/22?
sort of like the chocolate treat, but with a diff vowel
fa + policemen flash their b****s (id)
car - how it is going - are you figuring it out????
Ooh, that's a tough decision...
ty jellen. almost tried that
lol Jellen, REALLY glad you added the (id) to the end!
what are all the letters and numbers about?
ward
the numbers show you how many words you can make from each tile. The first number is the numbers of words you have entered, the second is the total number of words for that tile....and it is off to the PB for you, missy!
I warned you about that - what
PB?
penalty box tonight - I left tea and homemade scones last time
This is very confusing for me.
okay. just enter the words UNDER the grid, not here, and they show up in the right hand column. The tile stats are meant as a little guide. The show you how many words start with each tile.
if a tile is grey, with a number count of 0/0 then you know there are no words that start with that tile
you will get used to it car. in a week you will be a pro
Doing the best I can!
once you have entered all the words for that tile, they tile will show a full count (9/9) and it will grey out. The help tab above is also useful.
I am just delighted you are here. it is really, really fun
What are the 0/0 ones that are gray then?
tiles that don't start any words - just ignore them. They might be in other words, but they don't START any
How long does this usually take you to do? Can you leave it and come back?
for example - we ALL know you got a word for the bottom middle W, so that tile should at least say 1/6. if you found more, it will be a higher number, ob.
you absolutely can, but check and see how much time is left for today's play. looks like right now there is just over an hour left
I'm not even halfway done!
you have only been here for what, 10 minutes! I didn't even finish the first few days.
how do you get help with the words...when I hit the help button it just gave me directions
daniel, you can ask for hints here, but not just "what is the w5?" for example
what would w5 mean?
Are there duplicate words?
crap. Just saw an ad for "valkyrie" wasn't going to go NEAR it, but Bill Nighy is in it, and I do looooove him
w5 means a 5 letter word that starts with w. No, there are no dupes. But there are plurals!
Not without any "s"es!
oh yeah. How clever am I then?
how would i know how many letters the word is?
you can click down below the grid on Lickety's babble clues
car, I want you to know, the chat is NEVER usually this quiet.
Danielita, did you read the "help" pages (found right above this chat bar)? Read that first, then use likety's list
oh...thanks!

Good grief! It is crazy busy as far as I am concerned!
I just got here for the first time today; so I'm not going to work on this grid. I won't be able to help clue words tonight

The grid changes once per day (midnight USA CST); then you have 24 hours to find all of the words. You can come and go at will, your words will be remembered. ;-)

ages ago in character & string days, singles were used for characters & doubles for strings, so you did co'nn'pound characters [like norse o, u'nn'laut, etc] inside singles....
thanks

I think my favorite kitty was one I called Pudie Cat. I got her as an older kitten. she was white with gray spots. her coat was coarse like a shorthair, but rather longer than I think I've ever seen. she had a LOT of longhaired kittens
pe + a movie and a dinner out
pe6/21: someone who strokes the cat
