how sad for the sri lankens... how awfully sad :((
thanks josh for the robe
yw babble
anyone said what the reason is for the attack?
no trish, they don't know who the shooters were
they seem to feel that it's to undermine cricket in Pakistan -- also just saying the Indian team was supposed to be going there. The Sri Lankan team is going home.
Pakistan is ALL about cricket! that is nasty to the children of that country
well i don't think anyone will be going there soon
Cricket is like a religion there

Heatherbrae was 32 degrees this arvo! that place is the hottest in NSW in my opinion
how funny, i was ready to get a jacket when i was sitting outside
oh have a funny story for you from today andree
do tell
ea5 = past tense of consume food
thx bfsog it the en's i need
en6 and en7 = to pay attention on something
I rang MIL last night to ask her to take Maddie til the weekend... all ok and arranged to meet at Heatherbrae (1/2 way for us both). Meeting went well, transferred bags and stuff to her car.
en + f4
Well, kisses goodbye, went to get in my car... it is locked! all keys, phone, money everything locked in the car. The car self locks if you close the doors without the keys being in the ignition
MIL didn't know this and was 'helpful' by closing my door as I was putting things in her car
thx bfsog
oh no, what did you do
NRMA phone call and 45 minutes later... I am on my way!
god bless the nrma
indeed! the gentleman was delightful and very understanding!
He has had to 'break into' many CR-V's!
because it has a computerized key, he had to do it a special way so the car would not 'reject' me once I got in LOL!!
my d i l gave her car keys to baby in car seat to play with and closed car door while she was going around to the boot, toddler was quick and pressed lock
oh heck no!! nrma to the rescue??
the house was locked and phone in car, she got someone passing to call the police
oh poor sweetie!
the police came pronto and broke in
the story was funny in the telling as yours is today
that is great andree! so they should
after MIL accidentally locked my car, she offered to stay with me until NRMA came... I smiled sweetly and said 'oh no, you just take Maddie and go!!' I was very over my day by all this!
4 hours in a car tends to 'overextend' your sweetness level
yes mrp
nana
oops
and the plural! LOL
lol at se7/52!
far out at the chog... I give up
back again, phone call
back again... lickety got my internet working again
good mrp

Good Morning all. Does anyone know if the rankings will be fixed. I may have missed reading info when the site ran into trouble last week?
I don't think I've eve seen the chat so quiet. :)
hello again! I hope my internet connection is better! :))
I just read your definitions MR P and felt relieved to know that I too thought I've entered a correct word that did not record, only to be accepted later. (Babblelet) :)
morning, all -- congrats to the finishers! RKB, I've been wondering about the rankings as well . . .
Good Day to all you Happy babblers !!
**pokes chat to see if anyone is alive**
hey, aussieme!!
Hey Une !
Hey Aussie and Une :))
Hey FM !!
fmitch, what happened to your icon? are you in Witness Protection now??
Good to see ya :) LOL yes Une - I am persona non grata (sp)
???
OK I don't chat that much these days as chog minutae got too much and I shut down the pics/links etc so no flag etc.
No matter how many times I read someone's profile, I learn something new everyday. Since chat has been so quiet this morning, I'd just thought I'd throw that out there.
I can imagine where you are when you chat now!! :)
ooohhh, ok . . .
But I do pop in from time to time and say Hi So how is todays small grid - nice or nasty?
Hey Ata !
ata, such a sweet pic
Hey R-K-B !
so far so good, fmitch . . 38 to go
looool Ata - yup now you have seen operation central!
morning Aussieme
BTW Ata was here for tea yesterday afternoon in real time :))
how wonderful!!
Awwww, thats nice !!
pix??
ty une :) I now have a sand-covered dog here, snoring away after a good 2 hour walk
My icon represents my Babble Friends and Family..... Because you are all over the World.....
wow -- quite the workout!
No pics Une sorry
ooooh, I just got the ro7 !
maybe next time :-)
LOL - Ata and I have met quite a few times but yes next time we really should get a pic together
yes, when Haz is there too!
I was just thinking the same thing
hey all
Hey bf!
whoa, hi stranger
hey, bgsog
I've met Haz and I've met Ata but the three of us would be a blast!!! ((bf))
*bFsog
hi bfsog
one big happy babble family
Read-Knit-Bake ... you still here?
Can't work out a good shortform for your name :)
rkb
too obvious , you twit but then again ....
twit? harsh!
think I got my commas mixed up there - where is Haz when you need a punctuation lesson?
LOL bf
well, she's online ......
You called?
Ahhh so she is there but probably hiding beind a feather duster or hoover as I guess would be Lori!
aha :)
LOL - there she is!
Me voila! I have been ironing.
Duster? Hoover? What are these foreign words?
hi everyone, mitch lori at and haz
We were just dicussing punctuation.
((Lori))
Punctuation is possibly more important than ironing. I'm open to debate on that one.
and everyone crawls out of the (non-dusty) woodwork ...
morning gang
discussing as well
Good morning/evening all, by the way.
My eyes! Is that FM I see? ***faints***
mitch where is your icon?
**smelling salts for LoriP**
Someone catch Lori. You don't know what state her floor might be.
**Stands up proud to say I have no dusty wood work**
lolol, somebody HAD no choice but to clean yesterday. heh heh heh
Oooooh! Get her!
only cos you did housekeeping yesterday so that Haz wouldn't find out about the state of your house!
***and then collapses under the stress of the housework I had to do over the weekend as Ata was coming to visit***
No worries. There's enough dirt to cusion my fall I would iamgine.....
So, Ata, do you see yourself as Kim or Aggie?
*cushion even
... and my lssssst [post was soo time lagged :(
(I'm beginning to worry about Lori - that fall has knocked all the spelling out of her)
I love those 2! The house where the goats came and went was one of my faves.
Hey!! Am I invisible here!!
well I'm not Scottish ...
Hi Sandy - I see you
Hiya Sandy !!
lol
I'm so glad that programme doesn't have accompanying smells.
great pic, sandyloo!
Yes haz, so glad its not smell-o-vision !!
The horse got into our house one day(if that's any claim to fame)
hi aussie
Are you well Sandy ??
G'd morning sandy! :D
FMitch...just caught up the chat I am still here.
hi lori
what is today's icon?
spas around the world
I don't know Sandy.....
Non-dusty woodwork. FM could oblige nicely.
im well lori , but my poor husband has shingles-doc said he has been in contact with chicken pox
Welcome back then RKB (as suggested by bfsog)
oohh, so painful, sandy
Mine just represents my Babble Friends and Family all over the Globe :0)
I was very impressed with the deep tenor of Spangle's barking, Haz. She was a good woof.
Lovely idea Aussie
He looks revolting and I have ordered him to stay away from me- That is very sweet aussie
Thanks FM !
She does, doesn't she?
Awww, Sandy, I have had shingles, not the nicest thing in the world.....
Oh sandy, he's probably in a lot of pain, you must be as sympathetic as possible.
the lesions are around his torso and i told him that if they meet all the way around he will die!!
(I should be a nurse....NOT!!)
thx.. So many of you change your icons with such ease. I need to work on how to do that with more ease.
she does! Hobbit's woof is distinctly one degree higher. She doesn't have that *woof*
Do you need some lessons in sympathy, sandy? Poor man, you're a holy terror.
read, its fun to change the icon once you get the hang of it
I know, Spangle's bark is quite low and doesn't really go with her otherwise benevolent self.
Aussie did you only get it once?
Yes Sandy..... but it was awful.....
I am trying to be sympathetic but poor Nicky is in a bad way with her shoulder, it looks like she will have to have it fused, it keeps dislocating
Anyone seen Lori - last seen in trouble in the outer regions? or near to the PB ?
I think FM suggested the bark was so low from laryngitis from cold and damp kennels
I have only so much sympathy left! Lucky im well to take care of everone
So you feel like you're running a home for cr5/22s?
***Lori is irritated by a major chat lag here***
My dog molly is having a hard time getting up this AM
LOL haz, i do
Wash out your mouth, FM! That dog is fine and healthy.
Awe LoirP(Canada)
She is 13 and went sleding w/the boys yesterday
I thought she was dying, but she just moved a bit
Then she's needing a rest, sue.
What breed is she , Sue
mutt
cocker/terrier
great dog
Hey, on the up-side I only have 95 words to go!
75 ehre
I have never been sledding-that would be fun-but no place to sled here!
She may just be stiff and sore from all the activity yesterday.
A bit like FM after her frantic housework.
I have none to go
I figured, I am going to shove a pain pill down her throat
brb
the beach this morning was quite chaotic. There was a lady with 4 cockers that barked *continuously*, and then 2 men with a group of 1 cocker, 2 westies, and 2 dachshunds. Mostly all barking continuously too
Hello .. flip - thing chat is gone :(
***still giggles at the thought of FM having to house clean*** I'd have simpylk given Ata a false address, rented a clean house for the afternoon. :D
At you sound like you live in Dog City
Store that gem up for the next time, FM. Lori has some good ideas.
ah but now I *know* where she lives :P
Ok my dear friends, I have to go for a while, so I will bid you all a fond farewell, and see you a little later..... **poof**
Bye Aussieme!
See? That was a lack of foresight on FM's part. :D
Later Aussie, take care.
Absolutely. We need to send her on a course to improve her strategic planning skills.
My neighbor is a wonderful guy, whose home is always tidy. Thus, I'd give his address, and we'd meet there. Everybody has a price...... :p
I wonder if she always met me at the local coffee shop before because of swathes of dust at home?
Lori, I just read your profile-it is great!! and how nice is Haz!
(Haz crawls under the desk with ro7/28 cheeks)
Thanks sandy. This morning I taught them to spin plates on a stick and make pancakes at the same time.
she's VERY nice
That was a lovely thing to do Haz-you cant help being nice
Haz is a very thoughtful person, and the world would do well to engage in random acts of kindness!
LOL Lori - are you serious?
She drank a bowl of water and took a pill
I think she is just hurting a bit
Oh, believe me, I'm not all sweetness and light all the time.
caft
Lori-Im getting a stick and a plate!!
Sue, she's quite an elderly dog, some pain relief, a bit of TLC and hopefully she'll be right as rain.
Haz is honest, and people are generally used to being told what they want to hear, instead of what is. I'm like her in that way.
and a nice soft bed
I put her in mine
Haz-you hero!!
Do it sandy! Of course maybe I fibbed about the pancakes part.... :)
My only concern is that Lori hasn't got the children making pancakes while atop a unicycle. That would be the crowning glory.
Her eyes are bright and the other animals arent acting funny, so I think we are ok
while the KoG jumps from pancake to pancake
...ah, thanks Sue...your entry created a word
I taught myself to juggle(badly) and i am trying to teach myself to yodel(lol) but hadn't thought of a stick and plate
Oooh, a unicycle, that's it! Chainsaws and a unicycle. I like it.
She'll be fine, sue.
sue, I'm sure some rest will have her back to her old self in no time.
There's something about a unicycle that's uniquely appealing.
How long should your first stick be?
yw
Unicycle....hmmmmm
I would think dive right in with at least a 6 foot stick. May as well challenge 'yerself from the get go.
I believe she will be fine either way. Weather I get to keep her in my house or Gods
oooh Sue, it's hard when they get old
Ata, would Uni be upset if I taught them to juggle kittens?
Does the length of the stick not have to be measured relative to the size of the person? I'm sure Ata's grandfather will have come up with the equation.
depends whether Emma would expect the same when she gets home, I think
Lol Lori,Im going to try it, I do want a new dinner set.
Ata always plans ahead. I hadn't thought of that.
Poor shingles man. Excruciating pain and now dinner plates flying.
I could practice juggling our jack russels but we only have two- hang on! We have a cat too
sandy, it's a sure way to get to select that new pattern you've been eyeing.....
juggling dogs and cats? I'm impressed.
ooooh, jimmy fallon has taken over Late Night!!! wow!!!
how many shed kittens have you got at the moment?
Do they fight and hiss whilst airborn?
I think they'd be too surprised to do anything.
Ata 4 cats, 2 semi visitors and 1 kitten.
Ours love eachother- better not feed them before the juggling starts
Haz, why would they be surprised? Seems all normal to me.
I'll stake my hat on those two semi visitors settling into shed life.
that's a good amount to juggle
If we add Bobo, Wanda and KofG, I think we've got ourselves some juggling!
3 kids juggling 10 cats, some of which are wild. Now I call that talent.
in our town we deperatly try to collect all "shed" cats and there are 2 vets wqho offer thier sevice to spay or neuter them then we dont have a pound atm,but we utilize foster families till they are adopted.last time i looked at the list we have over 400 cats up for adoption.we do not encourage "shed living"
If you got a team going, you could have formation animal unicycle juggling. I think Simon Cowell is bound to be interested.
Lori , do you run a shelter for animals?
btw morning everyone;)
G'd morning cross. No sandy, I'm just a softy with the people that abandon their animals here.
Cross, here in Auss we have an organisation called SAFE which rehomes strays, Diana(icon) is a carer for dogs in Broome and has rehomed quite a few
Haz, perhaps synchronized unicycle animal juggling?
while making risotto Haz!
Absolutely, Lori, with fixed smiles all the way.
***makes note to sew 3 identical outfits for the boy, they'll love that***
There's that needle and thread word again.
Ihave to go to bed I think and think about spinning plates! so bye for now and take care everyone
cross, here we're rural and unfortunately in a spot where strays are often "dumped"
:(
Night sandyloo. Give shingles man a sympathetic wave from me.
Sleep tight sandy.
we are fortunatly in a spot where they are no longer dumped, but we are now in about the 7th generation of feral cats, they are breeding amongst themselves like crazy:(
Where the heck did FM go?
stan is not in the dictionary!
*satan
So why aren't the feral cats being put down?
they dont just up and destroy the cats
lol, disappointing isn';t it bichon. G'd morning
Hi all from the snowy NE US
they catch them, fix them and try to adopt them out
they should give a cat to each household in the neighbourhood and insist the cats be loved
thats what we are working on ata
But if they're truly feral, can they really be made into pets?
i mean it would be an easy thing to sit there with a rifle and a scope for an afternoon but not fair to the cats haz
yes they can even the 7th gen kitties
I know that the kitten in the shed could not be tamed now. She is too wild, a necessary survival skill. IMO
I'm not suggesting that, there are humane methods that can be employed.
it takes more work for a feral or semi feral
and there are a percentage that cannot be house tamed of course
when I was a little girl, I trained all the wild cats in the building to come when called for feeding
they get offered to farmers with barns and acreage
and most, after a while, would let me pet and play with them
but they didnt want to be house pets
make great mousers to keep the mice out of the feed;)))
and they love it cross
It's a very difficult situation, and not one size fits all. We've never been "overrun". But if I were, I'd act accordingly.
the cats at the barn would leave us tails to show how many they got during the night
build a bigger shed?
Is there a problem with rabies and feral cats?
all it takes is people to be more resonsible with thier cats
lol
lol sue,we had a cat who did that
you know, most humane societys would give you cages to catch them and spay and neuter them for free
lucily not at this time bichon
Exactly Ata! :)
and give them shots
:D
we have 3 ladies who offer thier time to our humane society who drive around and set up kitty traps
ro/8 ?
I think that is where I get confused. If you accept that there are feral cats who can live a normal life, then leave them to it. If they are breeding out of control and are not able to get enough food etc, becoming sick, then why not cull responsibly rather than insisting that feral cats become domestic cats? I'm not arguing for or against, just asking the question.
ro7/28 - meaning 'pink'. Follow a flower with 'consumed food'
I think a lot of ppl get squeamish about culling any animal, let alone "cute kitties"
ty
That figures, Ata.
You're welcome, sue.
That is true Ata, but if they are not healthy animals. kittens, cats, deer, whatever, then it's a bad situation. Cute dosn't factor in for me, but for many it does. I can't stand to see animals suffer, cute or not.
co*?
I agree, Lori, but I don't think many people see the strays as in pain / hurt / ill / etc. They see them as cute kitties
co8?
I supppose the problem is knowing when to interfere and when to leave alone. Nature is pretty harsh in ensuring that the sick and the old don't survive.
co8.50 co, three letters meaning dry, (think coconut), finish with the picnic pest.
sorry, don't get the dry part?
I've seen that here with my own eyes Haz, and nature ensures survival of the fittest, but I also reiterate we are in no way "overrun". I try not to intefere by overtaming, so they maintain their skills, and I do not interfere with the kittens in any way. They survive on their own merit, even though it's hard.
read back haz,we are just trying to stop the cycle is all,a feral cat community even a healty balanced one is not natural in our climate for example it is -26 c atm
Sorry, bichon, try for part or ***tion, then follow with the rest.
ty Haz, finally got it with your help
You're welcome, bichon.
Timing was perfect. I got it too. ty
cocatant
oops
after you have scraped up 15 or 20 frozen cats on a property next door with a derilict house and shed, its better to catch them and break the cycle
nearly!
anyways enough of that lets kick this grids butt:)
G'd morning gramma
Emma would be a feral cat if I hadn't taken her first...I don't think that trying to convince people to adopt *every* cat is always the best option, as, in my community at least, there are already to many not being housed and being put down as a result.
I think it's a good subject, but it's as always, controversial.
uniiiiiii!
Hello Uni!
***chat lag is makin' me crazy(ier)***
good topics always tend to be controversial
G'd morning Uni!!!!!
I still can't get anything to work well on babble. I am exhausted with my babble issues. And good morning all!
But it's worth airing, Lori. We'll not all agree about everything - except about George, of course.
*hugs uni muchly and has to run off to be productive*
back later!
lol Haz. How is George?
((except Lori doesn't care to much for George)) :D
Ata???? Productive? Jeez, my image of you is crushed! Have fun ....
I'm sure he's fine.
during the winter months at my work,my dumpster always had 3 or 4 dead cats in it from next door.o collected them so the kids walking to school wouldnt see them.so im all for catching ,fixing adopting and breaking the cycle.ok im dont venting my speen now;)
spleen even
darn typos..whiteout!
I am all for the adoption as well. That makes two of us. The many others that DON'T adopt or can't adopt are what makes that inefficient at times. Most of our cats have been rescued from people who let their cat get pregnant, didn;t want them anymore and dumped them in the middle of a road. A ROAD.
Typos R' Us crossy :p
lol lori
It's a question of supply and demand. There is too great a supply of cats for the demand.
like i say,its slow work.we have over 400 on the waiting lists right now
Here, the organizations that are well intended, make one feel like a criminal OR it's simply cost prohibitive to "do the right thing" for spaying/neutering. Very little trust
And then you get into the situation of vets that gouge people on costs (such as 400 bucks to get my kitten fixed).
Don't talk to me about vets.
each in town house hold is allowed 2 dogs or 3 cats per the by law..the humane society charges 75 dollars for a adopted fixed kitty and the vet picks up the rest
Sorry hunny, I mean the bad ones!
Oh, sure they're all scoundrels, Uni. It's well known.
lol im reading james herriot as we speak;))
He was to blame for the huge upsurge in people wanting to be vets.
well that was in the 30,s im sure the "surge" has eased off by now;)
It's the most oversubscribed course in the UK.
arthur haily made me want to be a pilot when i was young:))
Perhaps I should have taken Emma to Crossy's humane society and then bought her from them. Would have been money in.
He didn't publish the books until the 70s, don't forget.
The $400 Uni quoted, is no exageration. That is cost prohibitive, IMO and counter productive.
your right haz,point for you;)
I learned a lot from those books.
if everyone only bought foster kittys, them it would be a non issue..at least round here..75 dillars is a bargain!
Books will get ya' nowhere! :)
yes but your going nowhere in style lori:)
Nowhere - unless you juggle them while atop a unicycle.
So, off I must go to get a paper. Good to talk to you! Bye for now.....
everytime i read his books,it make me want to move back to the "auld" country :)
Saw them in half, in the air, on a unicycle, with running chainsaws!
Laters Haz. Take care. ***wonders why I have 87 words left to find***
29 found...gonna be tough to get to 50% today
blame it on the cats lori
oh well...bbl
Nah,, I'll blame it on FM wherever she is.
Not at my house, having tea. :(
she has been scarce of late
She was on earlier, so it's definitely her fault.
Okay, totally not focused here a't'all, so gonna wander off and look for markdowns. Later gators.
hi all.
hey, TO :-)

no, from the office :(

Yes, that is true
I absolutely hate snow

woohoo 48!

Hi EvaN
how are we all today?
just fine and you?

very quiet in here this morning... is everyone just doing a hit-n-run with the grid today?
pretty much :-)
I am being run over by this grid
29 left here and I have reached the wall
29's about when I threw up my hands and went to the list! :-)
I will be there very soon
as will i
oh, dont say that -- i still have 56 left!

The Constant Wife Une
phantom "acorn"
she was the one who had quite a discreet affair
i keep wanting to type that in
Une, I am going to see Blithe Spirit with Angela Lansbury March 18th
what a thrill! I'll always treasure theatre moments with the "Greats" -- got to see Maggie Smith in Lettice and Lovage on Broadway years ago . . .
what fun, Annie!!
acorn, corn, scorn, score, escort, anchorshore, short, shorn..... so many phantoms!
oh Annie, how nice, Angela Lansbury was another great actress
Yes, I cant wait
AH, and Maggie Smith, she was great
I loved Maggie Smith in the movie Tea with Mussolini
Judi Dench was in it also...2 greats
and saw Eileen Atkins in A Room of One's Own at the Lamb's Theatre years ago . . . terrific
ah yes, loved Judi Dench
watched her in all the "As Time Goes By" tv shoes
Une, I would have loved to have seen A Room of One's Own
**shows** too
it was such a thrill, annie -- that theatre is so small -- love that kind of intimacy -- just hynotizing
*hypnotizing
does anyone have a clue for the co8?
fingers aren't awake yet, not typing as they're told
don't have it yet, annie, sorry
not me Annie but that's right where I am, also need the co5 before it
Une, the beaumont at lincoln center is just like that. I saw Patti Lupone in Anything Goes there and it was just thrilling
I saw that same production!! Maybe we were in the same room! Lincoln Center's also where I saw Stockard Channing in Six Degrees of Separation
morning, all. for a wonder, I'm happy to see a small grid. I got a later than usual start today.
Une, It could have been..you never know
(altho a small room is barely able to contain Patti Lupone's ego . . . snicker snicker)
hi angel...tough grid..perhaps not for you
you know who I really miss, Annie? Spalding Gray . . . saw every monogue he performed . . . so tragic
*monologue
Une, Patti Lupone does have a large ego..just saw her in a revival of Gypsy and she owned the show
i heard it was GREAT
Une, Wasnt Spalding Gray wonderful..yes, quite tragic
Une, Gyspy was OKAY not great, IMHO
Third letter of ro7 please........
see?! that's so frustrating -- with the price of good seats, it just kills me to see an "okay" production . . .
ro7 starts with a ro** is a ro** is a ro**
Une, I cant afford the prices they are asking now so now I see few plays but I must see certain plays
i totally understand . . . would love to see many of the short run dramas but they often don't coincide with my yearly trip . . . altho with the economy like it is, I may (sniff sniff) not be able to make it this year
une - that's too subtle
popular red flower (unless you were being facetious?)
Oh Une, I hope you are able to visit NY this year
ME TOO
Une, do you come up every year or more?
Thank you! Weird word.......
must run -- wonderful chatting with you, Annie :-)
bye, Une, enjoy
I am grasping at straws here, be backlater

7 left, all s's
what are you still missing nr?
sometimes they hide from you stud
okay, I don't think I can leech off you much more then... I only need one more S, and 4 other words
did you get the 4 words that start with the large body of salt water SE*?
yup
5 sc words (so far)... did you get those?
i'm missing the sc6s, se6,21 and the 2 se5s and the 2 so6s
sc6 = wall hanging implement (for candles)
you've got all the scs
sc6 = burn badly
se6 is... trigonometry? some kinda math
se6 21 = trigonometry term or se + unable to do (minus apostrophy)
aha, I'm missing an so6, thanks ts!
one so6 = musical piece
got the other = male child + picnic pest
2 left!
se5s
se5 = same as se6 (ends with pale) but drop a vowel
what letters are you missing?
se5 + s + "here" in Italian (I believe)
I'm missing 2 A, 1 C, 1 O
s + e*** homini
oh, Latin, not Italian, I think
duh
ooh, got an A
oh got the k i'm a genius

a4 = 5 so far
ac, ae, an, an, aw

i'm never going to get that last se
A + rooster.
s + sounds like noise that bounces off canyon walls

it was annoying
I have a networking meeting tomorrow, and going to an alumni dinner tomorrow night to try to do more networking
i hope that helped nrk! my principal is screaming for me...
be back in a bit
thank you so much for all the help!
was missing oc4, thanks!
bye ts, thank you!
UHG! Hate it when you get those interviewers. I once went to a third interview with some company (same guy each time). I was figuring the third interview was the charm, when he stated, " I usually interview people five or six times". I was stunned. I thought, here's a guy who should not be interviewing people. He can't make up his damn mind.
5 or 6 times??? that is insane
hi there, how you doing with the grid today? I've just got 3 left and can't see the flippin' things at all grrr
I interview people once, and on rare occasions, twice (very rare)
hi bookworm
I'm down to last one
It is! In the third interview we talked about what books I liked to read. I named several classic novels... he hadn't heard of a single one. Fortunately, I wasn't that desperate for a job then, so I did not return his phone calls after that.
hi nr
hi nr
can someone tell me the point count for the ca6 after the starbucks places?
hi all! stud how was the flower show?
hi Judi
Hi welsh & TO!
hi all
hi TO
hi sprite
TO, stud had to step away
this is not an easy grid. hi nrk
ca6/30 just found it ty nrk
ooh, fireworks
hi judi
last word was very snaky in the gird
wtg! have much snow out your way?
(I had forgotten that other F)
gratz nrkii
we didn't get all that much here, when all was said and done
had about 8
surprising... my cousin in Atlanta got 8 inches, and I think we got less than that
We have about 9" here. Hubby "worked from home yesterday" and shoveled out the driveway. Fortunately, most of it was fluff.
literally it was true. He did work from home
Poor Georgians probably didn't know what hit them.
got most of it from noon to 4.
gee you poor people - here in Cape Town South Africa we are having temps of 32 deg Celcius - not sure how much tht is in F
too hot for me Skeg
Our poor little snow drops and crocuses are toast now.
100 c = 212 f, so formula is C times 1.8 + 32, I think!
hey i need 43 with few prospects at the moment...is this grid that hard?
Helluva lot warmer than on the east coast of USA, Skeg!
it's kind of tough TO, but not horrible
went downt to 37 left without trying hard, TOwl, shouldn't be too hard.
We've hit the same wall, Sprite. I'm at 36,
i keep seeing anchor and other phantoms
i'm back - not a terrible meeting, did you get them nrk?
not seeing a wall yet, but it might come up soon :)
I did stud, thanks so much!
Oh, and TO wants to know how the flower show was... :)
:)
The ancho chili mocks us again.
hey nrkii, our filing for bankruptcy newspapers in town advertised for a market researcher.
I found the word anchor was mocking me Judi
really TO?
that chili is evil. no reson not to accept that word.
yes nrk. Inquirer/daily news, which are now combining.
thanks TO, I'll take a look
clue for 1st ca5 - really stuck!
Plural of ca4, Krysten. Side of fish with that?
ahhh...forgot about the upper corner F!!! Yeah, slap me fishy!
thanks
okay, I'm off to catch up on my ebay world
...with a side of ancho, just for the halibut!
happy babbling all!
bye nrkii
nrk do you sell on ebay?
just started TO
can anyone help me with the first so6/18 and the na6/18 please? My BP must be fit to burst lol
first so 6 18 - male child + picnic pest
i checked out a commercial reseller...i have thing i'd like to get rid of myself. jewelry might do well now
na 6 18 ends same as so 6 18... inborn?
I'm just about to list a gold bracelet TO... we'll see
Na6/18: na + spanish for aunt. So6/18 is so + spanish for aunt.
did you set up paypal? i haven't gotten past that yet.
spanish for aunt is "tia" isn't it?
thought that was tia
yes judi
I think French might be what you are thinking of, cuz my mom often refers to her elderly aunts as M't***
french
You should get a healthy sum for any gold, TO. I keep telling my girlfriend to hock her diamond ring from her ex-husband. She's such a klingon.
wonderful...fireworks!!! thank you sooooo much nr
yeah, the bracelet I'm going to sell is from an ex
YAY, Welshy!
yay bookworm!
wtg book
gratz welsh
As Ivana Trump once said, "Don't get mad, get everything".
hello, what about selling silver flatware?
Ok, am back again..... Sorry, had to go and see to Georgia's dinner.... She was shouting she was hungry !
no sentimental value, and I didn't keep the receipt -- he actually gave me the gift receipt with the bracelet!
hey Peri !
not getting the na6 clue
hi peri. the reseller takes one third so it would be nice to do it yourself
peri, not sure... usually what I do is look on eBay and see whether the things in that category are selling, and how much they're going for
Hi, Peri. Not sure about silver flatware. There are collectors out there, but I don't think the demand is very high right now.
na + cons + picnic pest
ok, need to check e-bay. never sold anything there.e-bay makes me nervous :D
peri, I'd sell it for you on ebay for a very small fee if you wanted
finally got the right consonant, thanks nrkii
we'd have to figure out logistics, but it's not like I'm too busy!
nrk let me know how you make out. i bought bracelet when gold was cheaper not heavy but did not even remove tag
I may take you up on that nrkii. maybe we can get together sometime soon
We have sold a few things on ebay..... Never had a problem selling, and only one problem buying.....
I am not too busy either
my brother does that for people, and he charges 50% of first 10 dollars and 10% after that, or something similar
lol i am busy but i couldn't tell you why LOL
that is very reasonable. does he photograph them and all
peri, I'll check out silver flatware today and see if it's moving at all
he does ALL the work TO
he even goes through people's attics for them
he's a maniac
I've had good experiences with E-Bay. My only advice would be, sign up for Pay Pal and NEVER accept personal checks.
nrkii, would you please e-mail and I can tell you what I have
but he's made pretty good money from it
he won't go through my attic, because he knows I don't have anything valuable LOL
sure peri
good advice, Judi
lol Nrk !! I like that !
Spritey !!
wow something to consider. meantime i guess i should get on the site to do research on prices.
Wow! What fun. I would love to plunder other people's attics. Get paid to be no4/4y!
I may need your brother's help as well, nrkii. Need to get rid of some furniture. thinking of moving to a smaller place. Does he live nearby?
Yes judi, never accept personal cheques, and Paypal is always the way to go......
Aussie :) *hugs*
no, he lives up in Connecticut, but there are people around who can do that
Love to see you here Sprite.... How are things ?
a lot of it also depends on how eager you are to get rid of things, and how low you're willing to go on prices
I don't know of anyone near me, do you, nrkii?
peri, I might be able to help with that too... depends on timing and the type of furniture
rotten atm, actually, but on the right track still. How are you?
peri there is a service but i don't know if they pick it up. i can send you the info. the office i visited was up in warminster.
if you are trying to get rid of large antiques, and you have to move them fast, that's tricky
(((sprite)))
ah, dinner call. Will be back later.
hello all!
bye sprite, feel better.
for furniture i heard craig's list is the way to go.
thanks, nrkii. we will talk via e-mail.
*hugs stiddie warmly on her way out to dinner*
I am good Sprite..... Sorry you are not the best at the moment.... Wish there were something I could do for you......
Later Sprite....
Hey Mama !
here for five minutes, just getting starting. small grid - is it mighty?
bye sprite hi stid
Owl, most companies refuse to come up any steps. There are only 7 steps to my floor and the stairwell is wide with a wall only on one side, but they will not bend
It stinks
craigs' list makes me more nervous than e-bay :D
The grid doth stink Mama..... !
heya,. tor
Hey Torg !
oh well... too bad I started then! LOL
((tor))
I got rid of furniture on Craig's list, but there are definite risks
not quite antiques but some of the furnite is 35-40 years old
TOR!
just speaking with a friend yesterday who cannot sell a 4 yr old kitchen set. no offers. and even charities are picky about what they accept.
I got rid of 2 couches and a futon in about 2 hours
what were the risks, nrkii
weren't you afraid to let strangers in?
I had people come to my house to pick up the furniture, and I'm single, and so there's always a risk you're dealing with a psycho
I don't want strangers in my place
Don't you live near a University, TO? Put a notice on a bulletin board. Some frat boys will come get that furniture in a heartbeat I bet.
yep, that's the problem with Craig's list
Nrk..... borrow a dog when that happens !
a big, huge dog !
ooh, good advice Aussie, or borrow a man....
or a man with a dog!
peri, I sent you a message through FB
Yes, one of those always comes in handy !
not near one with fraternities.
lol LeslieAnn !
hello LA!
Hmm. Now we have to find Aussieme a man and a dog on Craigs List.
Hi, Stid!
hello stid!
ok, nrkii, will check. but prefer message by regular e-mail. bbl

Something you ate hurshy?
Work Issue
Oh..... Something we can help with ?
I dont do work !!!LOL
no... just a ... certain person in our office who doesn't understand that business relationships don't have to be either "we're best friends!" or else hostile.
Ah, I see...... We have that situation at work too..... It's like "them and us".....
What a pain
Is it a young person hurshy?
no, it is not a young person.
In that case he/she is a immature person
yes, well, apparently the expectation is that the rest of us should go above and beyond normal business relationships in order to make this person feel loved and supported. which some of us are just not going to do.
Oh don't you just love those ones !
this seems to be kind of a hard grid.
It stinks
It is Hursh, it stinks !

wall candle holder, hursh?
got that one
i think about 15 mins - but the joy of cooking will tell you

aha, thanks LA :)
Hi Ata!!
Which one do you need Hursh ?
{{Ata}}
Oh, that one !
the joy of cooking??!
anybody got any SO besides the foot wear?
"the joy of cooking" - it's a book...
nope, not me...
2 x so6/18
so6/18
a piece of music, hursh, like the Moonlight So6
hmmm well bookshops are shut now ....
aussie! cait! how do I make a hard boiled egg?
i'm stupid, sheesh
10/15 minutes will do it Ata.....
you want to bring the water not to a rolling boil, but just barely bubbles, i know that.
Put egg in cold water, bring it to a boil. Shut off the heat and let it sit for 15 minutes. Cool it off with cold water. Ta da!
Ata, 8 minutes is the perfect hard boiled egg, according to wikipedia !
yay! ty all!
i thought 8 was soft boiled?
How many eggs are you doing?
i made them once - it took longer than it said it would.
2 I think
what's the other so6, besides the music?
There are several theories as to the proper technique of hard-boiling an egg. One method is to bring water to a boil and cook for eight minutes. So says Wikipedia
see why I asked? it's complicated!
so6 = not a daughter + worker
clue for the candle holder?
ty, ata!
but if you cook it at a gentler boil for longer, they are less likely to bump and crack each other and leak not-yet-cooked-egg
The same time then, Ata for the cooking, if you were doing more it takes a bit longer
sc + word for just the one time
Put vinegar in the water to prevent egg white leeching out.
that's why I like the "turn it off" method -- less cracking
ty aussie

ac5?
Yes, Lizsark - a Labrador's a handfull! My little girl can be, and she resembles one a bit, only she's quite small. Not sure what she is - mongrel adopted from a shelter. Whippet is definite - other breeds are anyone's guess, but I suspect some poodle.
Oscar? A Handful? Never!!!!! LOL LOL LOL
a handful? an armful, legful and headful!!
HAHAHA - well I said that because in your photos of him, he looks like one! ;)
He looks a very active boy . . .
ac5 a & a male bird
is "active boy" polite speak for "complete nightmare"?
thanks lynxxx
Erm, not necessarily - can't determine that, without knowing him! ;)
Active Boy....Yes, I can feel a cartoon strip coming on....
no, 'active' is a complete understatement. Oscar is world renowned
HAHAHA, is he now???
Oscar is quite .. famous
Or is that 'infamous'?
Quite possibly JC :)
something, certainly
How old is he, Lizsark?
Hey Helen - busy then?
JC he is going to be 5 years in June :) Although apparently he thinks he is 5 months..... I'm just uploading 3 new pics to flickr...
Oh my goodness, Lizsark - usually, they've settled down a little, by that age! :P
OK - I am on Flickr myself, so I'll have a look! :)
I'm going to join again with a Pro account soon - once I decide on what nickname I'm going to use!
JC they'll show up on my profile here in a few minutes :)
Or, I could just keep using my initials, and have everyone wonder if I'm Jesus Christ! :P
clue for the na 6/19 please
I used to think that should be my name when I was a young man - as many would exclaim that, to see me! HAHAHA!
LOL JC that is what comes to mind whenever I see you on here LOL
or Julie Christie
HAHAHA, Lizsark - well I don't think I've much in common with him, somehow . . .
Well, Atalante - the first four letters of 'Julie' are the first four of my first name, also.
oh liz!!! I have a parcel to send you :):) I'll shove it in the post in the next day or two
Parcels? Why does everyone get post but me? My own family doesn't even write back..
There you go JC they are on my profile now - have a look at the maniac leaping out of the rockpool!
hi Uni
awwwwww, poor Uni! I'll send you post. At least I made a video for you! :P
Awww, don't feel badly, Uniquity - tell you what, I'll send you some of mine! How about - all my bills? :P
Oooo Ata :)) I sent you the brochure stuff but I missed the post yesterday so I suppose it'll be a couple more days yet...
na6.18 na & canvas dweling but change the vowel
Bills, pah. I have my own. They are my mail. And the pizza ads of course.
unless ... husband has been tidying, so I have no idea where it is now
HAHAHA, Lizsark - I'm logged into my Flickr account now, so I'm viewing them on there! He has boundless energy, doesn't he?!
He's a beautiful dog . . .
Boundless indeed :) He is never tired EVER :) Even after a 3 hour walk round the cliffs, an agility session and a swim!
....and here comes my beautiful dog. Bye everyone, time for morning walk. Have fun!
Oh my god - surely, he must sleep sometimes???
hi Stew!!
thanks :) We think so (just as well that we love him really considering the things he's destroyed over the years lol)
sister and I did an amazing thing the other day
Have fun Lynxxx
we tired out a Jack Russell. She slept for about 6 hours solid
Umm....well I can't say he does sleep much! But the snores imply that when he does it is sound and guilt free sleep!
HAHAHA, Lizsark - you should see the things my sister's Alsatian has destroyed when he was younger. He tore apart a settee once, when they were out for a while! An expensive one, at that . . .
I could use a few hints Ata! I can't wait for you to meet him!
...talk of the devill....
I can't wait either! and I soooo want you to meet Hobbit
You tired out a Jack Russel, Atalante? Goodness - how'd you manage that? I didn't think those dogs ever tired out?!
A settee pffft!!! Oscar can do better than that!!!
Erm, OK - what's Oscar destroyed in his time?
nor did we! I've never ever seen her so tired
I'm looking forward to getting the two of them together Ata :))
Oscar is world champion destroyer
He sounds dangerous - is your furniture safe, Liz?
What sort of dog is Hobbit, Atalante?
working cocker
No it isnt! Nothing is safe! JC are you on facebook?
No I'm not, Liz . . .
I don't have time for such things, normally - I'm sick at the moment. :( I am on Yahoo! 360 though, connected with some friends there, both online and personal (real life) ones . . .
And on Flickr, of course . . .
I have to upload some photos of my dog, yet.
And some video of her - she's funny.
Oh - Hobbit's a good English Cocker Spaniel then, is he Atalante?
she ;) very english cocker, very working cocker :) she looks like a cross between a springer and a cocker even though she isn't
Thats a shame JC - I have an album of photos on there entitled "Things Oscar Ate"
Oh I'm sorry, Atalante - thought it sounded a very masculine name! ;) Yes, I see - sounds an attractive dog!
there's a gazillion photos of her on my flickr :)
Hobbits lovely JC :)
HAHAHA, Liz - post them on Flickr! I have yet to upload a lot more photos to Flickr . . .
I'll bet she is, Lizsark - Cockers and Springers are lovely dogs! :) As is my littler girl - I get asked all the time what 'breed' she is, even though she's a mongrel. She's a very pretty one - very sweet face.
Erm - 'little' girl. Excuse my typing, please!
She looks like a very small, fine-boned Labrador, sort of - solid black except a tiny white streak on her chest. Smooth-coated . . .
awww! how lovely!
Oscar has a tiny white bit on his chest too
so does hobbit :)
If I can work out how to get the pics off a disc and onto flickr theres a piccy I must show you
Oscar does, Liz? Is he pure Labrador? Usually they don't have any white, do they?
My little girl's definitely part Whippet - her mother was a Whippet-cross, her father's completely unknown. From the shape of her head and paws, and the intelligence she has and other characteristics, I suspect she's got some Poodle in her - which may account for her being nearly solid black.
She's quite small - sits on my lap a lot. Not tiny, though - definitely bigger than toy-sized. More like Spaniel sized, yes - that would be about right.
Yes he's 100% labrador with an enormous pedigree to show for it. He's from French show lines. They shouldn't have whitereally but the breed standard says a few white hairs on the chest are permissable (apparently!)
Sits on your lap! Good grief! Oscar would squash me...
there have a look at my profile now :)))
did Scully sit on your lap?
oh god yes Ata! All the time :)
awwwwwwww :) cockers are great size for cuddling
OSCAR! baby Oscar!!
She was perfect :) Even when she got sick and incontinent she sat on my knee (with a waterproof backed blanket lol)
how cute was he then Ata?
adorably cute!! and look what he grew up into!!
darling Scully :)
I'm looking at the hundreds of puppy photos on this disk. Right from birth up to when he came over to me......I think I need a new puppy....
awwwww!
whereas strangely enough, hobbit wasn't a pretty puppy. she was gangly and dorky
and grew into herself at about 2
Hush! Hobbit might hear you say she was gangly. Poor girl.
Ah!!! I dont believe she wasn't pretty!!
lol I'm sure she knows she was!
But it's all about the creature, :) Emma isn't that cute at all, but I always tell her she is the prettiest girl in the world.
ok, maybe she was pretty, but she's definitely got prettier as she's grown up. she was really bullied by our other cocker when we had him. when he died, almost overnight hobbit just *bloomed*
That is what happened to Scully after we lost Sasha
Babble often makes me almost wish I had the space and time for a puppy. I've never had one, but other peoples dogs often get attached to me and I to them.
She was so overshadowed by Sash that we never saw her personality till she was on her own
Uni you can be a honorary Oscar-Mum if you like :))
ditto hobbit. jake was a little thug. a brain-damaged little thug. who was also the prettiest cocker in the world
Sorry Ata, Sasha was the prettiest!!!! :P
I could be a godmother or something...
or a dogmother lol
Ossie is dreaming right now. He's making funny little squeaky noises! So maybe he does sleep sometimes...
http://tinyurl.com/buramu <- Jakey!
16 left and my monkeys' monkeys are dropping like flies ..
No offense Ata, but I prefer my Jake! Much smaller but very nice. :)
Hi there, torgone! How are you today?
lol :)
Heya peachy .. I'm all right
Very handsome Ata :) Now look at my profile again :)
Good. I don't know where you are but I am looking at over a foot of snow. Wishing for spring.
awwwwwwwwwww
I won't tell you what I'm looking at then ..
She had a coat that we always described as liquid gold...until she was neutered...
Oh my...so adorable. I miss the gorgeous chcocolate lab I used to encounter on my way to work. I should be a dogwalker for money!
awwwwwwwww. she and jake did look very similar
Thats what my son would like given half a chance Uni :) A chocolate lab friend for Ossie
Dog is damanding to go out...back in afew.
2 mad labs!
and 1 mad owner?
To be fair, it just looks like a choc lab, dunno if it has a pedigree. I've never had anything pure, and never would unless it was a rescue dog or something.
we fostered a rescue springer for a bit once Uni - put me ri8ght off the whole rescue business! At least until the kids are grown up
Reminiscent of this morning's convo, lol.
who was fostering dogs this morning?
right - I'm off to bed now, got a good book I want to finish and, no, its not Marley & Me lol
Sadly, I've not got a good book on the go. Enjoy though,Liz!!
I'm never without a book Uni :) Have fun all :)
Sorry - was away from the computer for a little while.
*poof*
Oh, I've got the books, just not good ones. Well, okay ones. Bye!
Liz knows I'm a poof? HAHAHA!

doyou have the muslim death sentence?
no... TY!
and plural
TY!
speaking of which, has anyone ever read the Satanic Verses? I read it last summer just to see what all the fuss was about - found it very entertaining, but then again, islam is not my religion
never read it
had heard it wasn't as bad as made out to be
tried anca... ordered one today... but not a word
I bought it, to support Rushdie, but never read it....
what's anca?
anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody
LOL

weirder things have been in the grid!
LOL
pam, have you tried reading it and dropped it? or never started ?
one T left... any ideas? (it worked so well last time : )

Heya tyg

doing somewhat better, pam, thx. I put an update in my profile
hey, tor
along with changing the long-overdue icon :)
Just coming back to find a few more words. I seem to be always proportional to the number of words on a grid. 50% is about my average I think. Oh well.
I will go read it now...
HUGS TO TYGER - I was lurking but wanted to say hello
beautiful icon pic tyger
I'm having to take a break from most socializing. I got too stressed out, between illness and other stuff
thx, kje. I keep an eye out for pretty pix :)
anyone wana chat
I am glad you are doing better- I read the profile... nothing wrong with being who you need to be
and I'm not finishing many grids
I am so glad that you are on the healing path, tyger!!!!
thx, DR
hay pam my name is dan\
hello hello :-)
thx, pam. it's been a struggle, and not over, but things are looking up
what you talking about

That mark is on my forehead again, tor
Hi, red!
hi, blue, and dan, and dr, and all
it s a big T mark pam...
Here we go ..
pam how old are you
Indeed, red. Indeed
and thx, DR. it took some accepting on my part to just BE an introvert, in a family of extroverts. pretty sure I got it from my mother
Hey pam :-D howdy red!
red, is the icon your dog?
um
Hi Pam, Red, torg, Blue, dan
is there like a troll thing happening here?
burp
she was able to just be quiet and let my dad do the talking :D
Yes that is Teulu. He is not looking quit so great today but its him.
blue and amy what's your reall name
I mean, i just got here, so sorry if i'm wrong...
just thought i would share
Hi kje :-D
looks that way, amy
Do we need to get the dogs onto the troll?
too old to rock n roll, skyth, too young to die>>> So rarely I get to channel Jethro Tull....
ca5,18 please?
hi blue
Thanks K
hi kje, and Blue and Stidgmere.
Hello all
ca5/18 is plural of precedingt
whats that mean/
Hi Scrab!! :-D
hey, scrabs! :)
Hello redhead and all. Scrabbler good to see you.
anytime tor
thanks for sharing, kje; hi, scrabs
Hi Scrabs
Lets not feed....
Scrabs, how are Mary's kids? and how is Ben...
I agree red
Hi Scrabbler.
red is afraid of more burps - LOL
and DR.
Teulu is gorgeous!
the ca 6, 30 is a bit of a problem. any clues?
pam what does that mean?
I know, red, but sometimes, i just have to sing....
yeah, scrabs. how are those guys on the prayer list?
sorry, mere, don't have it....
teulu is gorgeous!
ca6/30 - lounging robe
kje how old are/
Singing is lovely and thank you, I shall tell him. He is pretty b ut lacking many brains.
ca6/30 is a middle eastern form of garment - very comfortable. I have several
No problem, I have so many to work I can easily go on to the co and find myself looking up words. Wait. kje has something!
LOLOLOLOL... sounds like a lot...oh, never mind, LOL
just a dumb blonde?
Ben is doing well. Mary's kids are too--I spent the afternoon and dinner with them, as I do every Tuesday. A new kiddo needs prayers: Timmy, age 8, with a rare cancer.
hehehe
bingo and i could wear it tonight!
whats so funny
thanks, tyger
He sort of is.
LOL red
whats so funny
Oh, scrabs, so sorry....
oh, my. Timmy will go on my list. How's Sabrina? (am I remembering right? it's been a looong time)
yw mere
He gets on well enough, but he really wont win anything in the brains department.
will you go out with me kje
I am adding TImmy as well
hope teulu isn't listening
Sabrina is doing well--continuing with chemo.
hi all
will you
Hi Dorens! :-)
will you please
glad to hear that, scrabs. it's so sad to hear of kids so sick
Careful - She's a homewrecker ..LOL ..
Hi Doren
this is a devil of a grid... lol
hey, dorens
hi dorie
clue for the na 4/4 (first one) please
please kje
yep... his name is posted right on it DR : )
pretty please kje
na + its mirror image
indian bread
too true, DR; not an easy grid at all - but that's so common with the little ones
It sure is sad, tygerbryght
good clue kje, thanks!!
thnx kje
any time the grid is less than 100 words, you can expect a struggle - or at least, I do
not the fun part of being a pediatrician, that's for sure
yw
Nope, it stinks.
10!
OTOH, scrabs, I'm sure you get a lot of satisfaction out of the healthy kids
go, kje
go kj! just started here
10 left?? WTG kje :-)
good job kje. I have 50 left....ork day.
I just started too--83 to go
ork day?
clues for so please?
missing an upper A
work, ork.... had code room so busy day..
I really struggled to get the first 40. then things seemed easier for a bit
I have 56 to go
i wear a so** under my shoe
kje - have you got the deepest respect/reverence one?
a + rooster?
the other two please....
:-)
TY tor!!!
Ugh, red
wow, this method is working unusually well - lOL
hi dr1965...how are you?
you should have enough time, DR - for that matter, so should the others. with scrabs, I guess it depends on how rough her day was, and how tired she is
Hi ALison- Good to see you
you too....
haha red when you said "ork day" i thought you were calling someone a dork in pig latin :-D
yw K
what method is that k?
method kje?
true- I wont be here tomorrow though
hi, alison
LOL blue
I was all ready to respond "ell-way en-thay our-yay a-hay ERD-nay!"
reverence, tor?
nvm
going to Burbank on the train for my performance review with my boss
I think I set a babble record. 5 minutes in and I have 26 words... i think that damn good :P
Work was somewhat "exciting" veyr dead man, very pregnant lady and a variety of crazy patients.
wow awesome Amberr!!
method.... I need one more, what am I missing - they are dead on tonight!
I love train!!!!
Babble is easier sober :P
The clues are really helpful and makes me think. I think you have set a record over me Amberr.
oyyyy, turtle
how can you be very dead or very pregnant
ca5,18 please?
the band Red??? Me too
LOLOL, kje....
When you have a rectal temp of 88.5 you are often very dead.
ca5/18: plural of a place to eat out
pl, forward
ca 5 18 is plural of the one above.
Those very dead ones are difficult to bring back to life, aren't they, red?
did you warm him up
I am literally laughing out loud, red
then a few hours later, lady in Labour. which is lovely, eexcept we have no L and D at our Hospital.
ugh...can't believe I missed that plural - thanks
OY, red
The chat is going SO fast!
His arm was very stiff.
omg red
yw, forward
hahahaha....
LOL, scrabs. not sure I should be laughing, but ......
OMG_ What a great chog
hmmmm... wondering why one would need a rectal temp to determine a patient was dead...
oh wait that labor one is not what i'm laughing at
the dead rectal one
So did she deliver the baby at your hospital or did you ship her out?
I am being stiff-armed by my laughter
my son just asked why I am laughing
Oh no, We just have to document the temp. No delivery.
Sent her out, first baby so she was not dilating quickly, but....it came a little close.
poor thing
you have to document the temp on a dead body??? no effin' way!
This is NOT funny but I am laughing. What a day some of our dear babblers have had. I only had a toilet not working and a husband very angry at the plumbing book.
Or you can document a pH of 6.0 in a very dead appearing person
well, peeps. I need to duck out. time to think about food. later, all
He would have to be dead to get his temp. taken that way ..
I mean who wants to deliver in an ER with a patient under custody about 200 feet away. Stidg...it isnt funny, but....
LOL, torgone
how about.... no pulse no breathing... dead
haha stidgmere i'm picturing a scene similar to the one in "A Christmas Story" where the dad is fighting with the furnace and you can hear him through the vent with the smoke...
ciao, tyger
omg tor stop i can't stop laughing and i have a cockatiel on each shoulder
bye tyger :-)
kje, you are too logical
bye tyger - nice to see you
that too. Its a long bunch of documentation.
There are different degrees of dead, as we know, kje & red
hey Met Fan! Yo!!!
I am sorry... but that is absurd!
I dont like plumbing problems Stigmere!!!!!! I had the better day.
Hi, repart
hi teena
Hi Pam! how's it going?
Hey Scrabs!
okay.... whoooo... as much as i don't want to leave this chat...... i gotta go help with dinner.... omg it felt good to laugh with you all :-D
The Mostly Dead are a bit complex.
Bye Amy
have a nice dinner...
ciao, blue
going well repart. and you?
*sob* four left; trying to finish w/o the list *sob* 1 s and 3 t's; I beg your help *sob* probably all fish words *donning waterproof outfit*
My brother must be deep into the grid...he never answers me!!!
we did not take vitals on dead bodies, or draw blood and get pH's... that is hospital BS at a ridiculous level
just fine pam. ty!
And the recently dead are challenging
byebye!! :-*
Good by Blueet I must also go to boil shrimp. Dindin calls.
Let's help Judy!
*falls on ground at Scrabbler's feet*
What fish words do you need? I'm doing shrimp tonight.
the recently dead are not challenging at all... usually
LOL stid's Mom
They have stopped being challenging ..
Oh we drew no blood, but we did do a temp, just to add to documentation, because technically we was supposed to be PEA,, but in actuality he was just dead...MD called it immediately, so we wanted to document that he was stiff cold and had no PEA.
We don't want to make them alive again because we know what type of life is ahead
yep tor... the family's can be challenging, but usually, they get pretty easy at that point
I have 2 sa's, 5 sc's, 6 se's, 3 so's
(PEA)?
Ciocia, where on the grid do you need to fill in with purple (or is it grey.)
I need a K.
left T and top S Stid's Mom
se Chacha
pulseless electrical activity
*giving Red a K*
kr5 - swedish or danish coinage
thanks tor
you need 1 more se and 1 more so
Well, I cannot give much help. That top s has really socked it to me.
Ooooh thanks kje.
Only 3 x so Scrab
I only need one s Scrabbler
*looking*
and Pam it means Pulseless electrical activity, heart generates a rhythm on the monitor but not really beating.
Oh, thanks red!
Sorry, I counted wrong--still working on my math skills
you document no PEA when he has no PEA... no temp needed for that
se 7 4 6 7 6 5 5
temp to prove he was cold, not that he had no PEA.
ie he had been dead a lot longer than the story given....not down 10 min only.
ty Tor got it
so glad i mostly work in settings where common sense rules
That PEA always gave me the creeps--
I have 4 ta's, 3 te's
ta Cha
it is creepy.
all three tor?
3 x tw
I thought the sweedish coin was a Kroener...?
never thought of it as creepy... just is what it is
aha
Your're good on the tas and tes. So there are no tors.
common sense shoud rule, but then, often litigious mentalities and fear of same take over....
Sorry! I was saying you're welcome in Brit ..
good one Stid's Mom
oops, tor. sorry that I missed that
One of my first codes in med school--it was over, old lady was considered dead, I stayed in the room with the nurse, and the monitor still showed a rhythm....but she was dead....
danish is a kroner
One reason I always turn off the monitor after its called
*FIREWORKS* ty Tor!!! *hand Tor a Cosmo*
Gosh, I think it is better to be neither dead nor pregnant these days.
yay, judy!
Yaaaay Judy!
Yahoo Judy!!
LOLOL mere - probably true!
My Dad was still breathing on the respirator after he had died ..
woohoo judy!!!
Wow, Ciocia and winner by technical decision.
I should list and get this done
Great conclusion, stidgmere!
I agree.
YW and Thanks Chacha! Well done!
and Torgone I do not evy you in that situation.
wow, what a weird chat tonight!
i am with you red, no envy there....
I blame it on red!
Sorry I brought up "ork"
LOL
Man, It is too cold here.
We do have stories to tell
It's 16 degrees here
cold? here, too. I like it, though
Ork is a four letter word in our book. Don't believe in it. I think I'll just sit back and eat bonbons. Actually shrimp, and dinner is served. Poof.
hi everyone
hi carlee
*waving good bye to Stid's Mom*
Hi carlee! Making a late appearance!
Hi carlee

canes are a problem stid I still have the cane my husband used
did you fall or something stid?
how was class
I would never have a cane around...kje would whack me with it
class was a ball. these guys are a hoot.
oh kje, I have a painful hip. in the joint painful. Off and on for twenty years... more and more. Then I had an MRI in November and all hell broke loose. Still extremely limited range of motion and pain. Saw the ortho today and he says there is no problem with the bone, so it has to be soft tissue, which can't really be evaluated until the inflammation goes away...
hello LBD!
that was the short version. LOL
ooo too bad stidster
do tell lbd
poor stid
(((STID)))
brb..
Why can't I get yesterday's word list in the archives?
stid - has PT evaluated you for what would be the best assistive device? and how to use it properly?
I teach basic computers to Veterans. these guys range in age from 22-60+ skill range is from clueless to dangerous
no, I am not ready for PT.
okay I am confuse (what's new) lickety accepted a word that teh list didn't
good for you, LBD! I wouldn't have the patience...
once the inflammation goes down stid i hope the PT will include ultra sound. it's delish!
sometimes lickety finds real words that dr. g doesn't.
I'll stay for a few minutes to give any clues if needed.
I would range most veterans from clueless to dangerous
ultrasound? hm. hadn't thought of that...
stid - you NEED PT.... ask for a referral - they need to assess your current limitation and what assistive device is best and train you how to use it properly... otherwise you will have another injury (like your shoulder from the cane)
so take pity on my block with ae words min
kje is right
lol, jmc. these guys really are a lot of fun. Vietnam vets and the young Iraq vets. stories fly!
ae 4/4 is ae + not off (it means a long time) jmcnrick.

WOW. 100 doesn't seem so small to me! LOL
Oh now nice of you, mrpresident! Yes, stidmama - it's a small farm property, although all we use it for in that respect is growing our own veggies and herbs and we keep a small brood of chickens - they're spoilt pets, HAHAHA! They all have names . . .
