looks like it fingers crossed
drink plenty of fluids get plenty of rest ... and call me in the morning
how long is the j?
but I want to make sure, so beddy bye for me -- *foop*
ji4
the j has 4 letters
good thing you didn't say you know what or you'd have to come back and go to the PB
west, you forgot the 2 aspirins
are there clues today?
yes andree
I did. There goes my imaginary license
oh well -- and cuz I said foop I don't seem to be able to leave, so p*** (the right way round)
took me FOREVER to monkey the j...think my monkeys should go to bed
good night jilli sleep well
nite all
you too mark
nytol
I keep seeing mad cow
lol jilli very appropriate
i see there is a 7, could i have a clue please
I don't have it yet andree

hi
whoa, small one! this is among the smallest i have ever seen
it is josh
hi josh
are you done yet? lol
ita a co7/40 west, just got it
thanks andree I was just about to open the list
got it!!
NBT
what a wacky wasteland of a grid
good job josh!!
i need the o for nbt
co7/40, you say
leave it out andree
thx west, nbt and 9 words left
extend the co4 josh
very nice!
ha - got the 7. what is that word?
something you use at the beach?
there seem to be a lot of non words in this josh
need list to finish
i already have all the c's. i thought they would put up more of a fight than that - they usually do
me too , i flew through those
oh wow i just noticed there are 9 words in this that are more than 4 letters
not doing any flying with the m's though
I'm flying now
this shouldn't pose too much of a problem
got all the m's
aw, the white witch word doesn't fly for enable
tried that too
fireworks
yay josh!!
yay josh
man, i'm accustomed to grids more difficult than that one!
i need mo5 for my last word
especially the small ones
the do5 took me a bit
mo5 - anagram of one who wanders the desert
and fireworks for me
last name of title character of the tv show john from cincinnati
thx josh, i'm finished now
yay andree!!
grats andree
just got the mo5 is that the john from cincinati?
it wasn't nasty at all , really quick and fun
y, west
that's what everyone said andree not usual for a small grid
I don't think I've ever seen that show
it's a pretty weird show. but i liked it a lot. it's already been long cancelled
me either west
it's a twin peaks kind of show
but about a surfing family
i am sitting outside , it has been the most beautiful warm autumn day
how nice andree too bad it wasn't a bigger grid
and even nicer as i had a day off and played 18 holes golf
its nearly dark and my battery has 20 mins left
one left ...here goes...
fireworks!!
yay west
thanks!!
andree that's a lot of golf!!
thats the usual round west
I thought that was double
can you tell I don't play? lol
we only have 9 hole comps in January due to the heat
they don't play much around here in Jan due to the snow
although I'm sure there are some who try
and a lot of time is wasted at the 19th hole[ the bar] afterwards
where they go to celebrate or drown their sorrows?
thats the one
oh I saw Cassie on Sunday she's the granddaughter who is going to Australia in June..found out she's going to be mending fences
my son is such a keen golfer he has played in snow and night golf, he also continues to play in the pouring rain
I think it must be the rabbit fence and she hasn't seen the movie
that is serious golfing
its a great movie
or silly golfing as the case may be lol
I know I loved the movie
here's her story she's volunteering with college students from around the world but it's costing over 4K to go there
out of her pocket and her parents and grandparents too
mostly the latter
west my work email address is in my bio, if she needs anything while she is here, has she somewhere to stay
it will be a great adventure though
ha ha so whats new
battery nearly gone, back later
that's so nice of you andree I'm sure she'll be fed and housed but she might have some free time
okay by for now I think I'll just head to bed
bye*
email me and i will give her my phone number
please, a clue for the fa5/22
not dull but fa...
a dress with lots of frills is fa...
a posh restaurant is also a fa... restaurant
oh, thank you rolin and jo
yvw

How are you Zoom?

thank*
Had 3 hours sleep sh?? day
oh dear..does not sound good then
No. I spent about 8 hours last night on an assignment and it was all for nothing
your joking..what went wrong?
Ok. Long story short pardon my simplicity
ok
We had to design a program for our conference that we are holding next week. I did a FULL programme It was part of a we pick what we want
I did the program up to print standard. As in OK this needs to be put there and this needs adding, because someone always wants to insert information at the last minute
They didn't pick mine but a half finished job then stole all my insides
So I thought they had used mine then they said no we picked ? and I cracked it burst into tears swore and left the class
thats taking the pi**....very sorry to hear that, sounds like they chose a person they are more friendly to rather than the better job in my opinion
when do you have to go back?.
THe conference is next week. And yes a lot of people agreed they screwed up and they had to do all the program themselves
now for this grid
the next time you are there i would ask them to give a detailed explanation as to why they thought this other persons work was better than yours...and watch them stutter to explain....at least this grid is small...so you can try and get some sleep, you will feel better when you do. :-)
I had chicken and corn soup my life is good
:-)..thats the spirit
yep. I cried cracked it and now im too tired to think
you know you are too tired when this doesn't work the grid
well you worked hard on the project..you have every right to crack it, it is natural to feel like that.
i bet you are just staring at the screen and nothing is making sense...lol........get some sleep young lady...you will feel better after a few hours
yep I got the only two words that apply to my life to day. Bitch and ? and to eat ?
you should drink some co5,14 that will make you relax and sleepy
mmmm not now
or maybe I should fall into a co?
what ever takes your fa**y...lol
mmmm
dont you hate when you can't get comfy
well i am sitting in a big chair with lots of cushions , so i am nice and cosey at the mo, but yes i have and yes it is not nice
I am like a cat today circle circle nope

wife favorite bar is still the cadbury crunchie bar
It is interesting to see the different types. STILL wont the twisted bars
she loves the sponge toffee
my fave at the mo is `flakes`..sooo nice
personally that crap gets stuck in my teeth
Zoom You dont have OLd Jamaica?
I'm diabetic, so I don't eat much chocolate, but if I do I like chocolate covered pretzels

BIchon it is over rated
That was from the website.

I like the juxtaposition of the sweet chocolate and the salty pretzel
Good day to all.
He Scrabs, how goes it in bunny land?
a bit like having sweet and salted pop corn i suppose
hello scrabber
morning scwabby:))
someone say rabbits?
Miss Bea Bunny is under the couch here and peeking out and tickling my leg with her nose.
Hi Scrabbler
My Bisky has a heart murmur and is on meds
Is this a typical small and evil grid?
Bichon I don't like Chocolate pretzels yet I love salt and vinegar chips and chocolate
You mentioned Bisky last week.
enough babblets to boggle the mind scrabbs
Yes, Scrabs, very and there's a 7 letter word in there too
Last week was very bad. Not only the heart murmer, but there was a murder on campus here in town
herin that sounds yuckky
We had someone young with kids die on our campus yesterday
Are you in CT, Bichon? The Wesleyan murder? Awful.
It was a very bad week, the campus was locked down until the suspect surrenered. it was on the national news
Yes, at Wesleyan
we have a confirmed case of the piggy flu nearby:)oh im sorry the h1n1
wow Bichon I didn't hear about that
Bichon, my 21 year old nephew (sleeping upstairs now) has a friend that is a junior at Weslyan.
SCRABS..... how r u? and what were the results if I might ask?
Crossy, we do too. A middle school kid here but with no trip to Mexico and no contacts with H1N1, thus confirming that it is spreading.
I doubt you'd hear about it in Australia, but here it was awful. It had anti-semitic overtones and a lot of the Jewish students went home til the suspect was in custody
same here..no trips,no contact
gm Babble
Tooth is OK. X-ray showed no signs of infection. My dentist will send the X-ray to the oral surgeon for his review.
Scrabs, he might have know her. An outstanding student and person, killed by a stalker
morning kristine
Hi Kris! How are you and hubby?
hello kristine
And..there is a question.... H1N1...why is the media going NUTS about it.... thousands die from reg flu..and people are FREAKING out over this...
I'm Doin ok , hubby is coming along slowly
Bichon that is frightening.
hmmmm..well...was worth investigating I suppose..sorry it didn't answer the ?'s tho
I agree, Carlee. 36K Americans die of flu every winter.
All this stuff about swine flu just makes me want to eat the bacon more.
morning all - first word I found had to do with chocolate -- hmm.....
36K people die of flu. Glad at least I get a flu shot.
Hi Jindigo
my M-in-L went out and bought 5 hand sanitizer bottles for store ( we had 1 ) and tonnes of kleenex that is scattered throughout...
Hey Scrab!
last 10 years or so ive ALWAYS gotten the whole family a flu shot
HI Jindi. At least you wont get ill Carlee. If she is so concerned wear cotton gloves to handle money
u have a reason...ur immune system was depressed...
in this house..no one does...
Hey Herin!
if someone gets sick..so bit..i could use with the days off anyway if I get sick....
From 11-3 today our group is having a "retreat" to discuss issues within our practice. Boss Richard Head will be in top form, spinning and blowing hot air profusely.
mind since I started working at the wine store i have NOT been sick..even once.... I think inhaling all the alcohol fumes kills whatever MIGHT have a chance to grab on in my lungs
Haha, alcohol to the rescue.
you change you mind bout a flu shot if you have ever spent a winter trying to breathe through lungs that feel like half the gulf stream has been pumped through them
someone say booze?
ok...just had a funny immage...Retreat ='s finding yur zen..and sir richard sitting in lotus position.."omming" whilst in a 3 piece suit
A healthy 7 yr old boy died of the flu at the end of March here
omming very loudly....
We are dreading it, Carlee. He already submitted an outline. He will be in full dictatorial and tyrannical form.
I have 10 words--woot, woot!
wh
I am just a SD enough I would print out nazi armbands from paper..and circulate to everyone to wear to meeting
scrabbs, for the meeting draw happy faces on your eyelids and just keep em closed the wole meeting:))
Close one there, Superpig
My difficulty will be whether to be silent (because he doesn't validate other views anyway) or to present sensible ideas.
Yesterday on campus someone had an epileptic fit and died after hitting their head.
Awful, herin.
good afternoon all. Who shrunk my babble?
It is very sad but it does happen our campus isn't too friendly
15 words found and I must get ready for work. Bye all. Hi Sprite!
Spriteeee
hi there sprite

hello friends! just a few quick moments to chat tonight...
hi trif
I don't get what the tile stats mean. What is grey vs white? x/y?
whoa....48 only............
grey is no words or no remaining words. x is how many you got, y is how many total from that tile
grey means all done.. white means more work
ok, thanks.
wait, if grey is done, then i have a word that either starts or ends in wh / hw to find...
grey and white refer only to the starting letter wokan. So means you have a w word and an h word, probably
just counted it up and realized that, dinoc. thanks.
btw there is a wh 4 letter word
yes, i got that one.
hi folks .. well this is a grid built for those with limited babble-time!

mo+si*b** the sailor or comedian
hi knitter, what are you knitting these days?
fa5 = fa*** meeting you here! or you look so fa*** in your dress.
great clue sue
a wee bit metal not as much as i would like to though
ty
ty
last one co5/12 pls
I'm trying my hands at knitting some these days... it goes slowly though.... can't find a method I like for purling. It seems I may have to make everything in straight knit stitch
I just got that one glc
co4/5 + vowel
fireworks, ty
first time
yahoo GLC
I am very proud of you
metal if you knit in the round you never have to purl -- try it
this was a hard grid
congratulations GLC
I'll bear that in mind aknitter... but won't it make it hard to construct afghans and/or pillows?
pillows would be fine just knit a tube and close both ends! blankets would be another story. what do you like to make?
I haven't settled on favorite knitted items yet... haven't done enough knitting. I love to make cables though.
In crochet, I like to make blankets, doilies, etc.
oh me too, cables are so much fun
Knitted socks intrigue me but I'm much too intimidated by them to attempt any
sox can be knit by a method called the magic loop - 1 long needle and in the round. they are fun to make. i only wear hand knit sox once you put a pair on store boughts will never be comfy
I'll look up the magic loop method online later this evening.
metal do you like metal and leather or work with theM?
On a side note... are you an "English" or "Continental" knitter.... and "Eastern" or "Western", "Crossed" or "Uncrossed"?
Yes
I only wear holy socks, cause the longer I wear them, the holier they get
mostly the former rather than the latter
oh BR!
me too BR, lol
i do not knit continental althouhg i can. i prefer throwing the yarn
can't seem to spell though
I find I work faster and more neatly doing Continental... Purling is awkward for me no matter what method I use though, lol@self
there is a method called thumbing the purl - look that up and give it a try. it should help
you could always thumb your nose at BR
I'll try that, thanks
oooooooh, bad timing
which the nose or the purl
tee hee hee
hope you are feeling better, aknitter
thought that would get your attention BR. ty, nice to see you
if the worse thing that happens to me today is some thumbing, it has been an extremely good day
LOL
bad day?
being ignored is not so good
who would ever ignore you? how could they??
poor BR
***tosses BR a cookie to soothe the pain
thanks, you two
hey i want a ccokie too :(
hi, all
hi pam
ahh that would be a cookie
Babbler, it would seem to me to be nigh on STOOOPID to ignore you. You are a font...

only 2 left co 4/6 the last one and co 7. must be stupid words - it is ccertainly not my stupidity
dawg are is present and useless. just like my brsain at the moment!

co7 is definitely a stoopid word, Ms Chanel + ***t Lauer
totally stooopid, and thanks!
ty dawg you are wonderful
ahh, thanks. *kicks toe into carpet and blushes*
da6/24 is a version of demon used in "The Dark Materials" trilogy for the animal each human has that carries part of the human's spirit
all hail dawg the babble wonder child

anyone watching, want to weigh in?
any j clues please
hey, hursh... am watching the dvr version--to go through commercials... so far, i have seen danny once and kris once... didn't much like either...
did you see my facebook message, hursh?
me, neither hi all hi pam
it was house related
Hi, TO
really? i liked danny's. but then, it was fun to change it at home to dance little kitten, and make marty dance.
LOL, hursh. I agreed that sign your name was better for Danny, but I don't like Danny much sometimes...
lol hursh danny was ok, no big whoop. i love the u2 song and adam disappointed
oh, thanks pam! ok, so, she just meant about being hurt by what he said. very clever writing, easy to make us think she meant about being with him.
Haven't seem Adam yet
i didn't care for the song kris did either, but, just cause i thought the song was boring. i bet he could have made it better if he was creative with it.
I agree, hursh! very clever. I didn't realize last night that I had dvr'd House--I knew I'd watch it. Sorry I didn't check, LOL
pam are youi translating house?
I was REALLY bored by Kris!
vrhis is totally boring every week
No, TO. Hursh had a question about last night's episode and I had it taped so I could answer it.
adam, i felt, well, it was so different from the original that i suppose i could see how some people might like this, as like, a separate thing from the original. i don't happen to be one of them, but clearly the judges felt differently.
I agree, TO. Don't understand Kris's appeal.
cause what i like about that song is how understated it is, and i'm not really on board with this other version.
i like adam. i like u2. i cannot say i liked the arrangement or vocal
I LOVE this song. But not sure about the arrangement....
yeah, i agree TO. it is always good to find that people feel the same about things.
I like the understatement in the original, but always want Bono to BELT it out. I mean, why the HELL is AIDS still an epidemic?
I thought he knocked the ending out of the ballpark. I am now going to hear the judges....
I agree with Randy that he went off the melody in a way I am not so sure about....
that was driving me crazy not being able to remember what cuddy said and thus see what she actually meant by it, thanks so much for filling me in!!!
i am jumping too much around in my thoughts, lol.
Hursh, it was my pleasure. Was bothering me, too!
LOLOL, hursh
hursh forward it to me i was too confused
Good Evening. I have 30 left. On a normal day, I'd be happy to say that!
Cuddy told him that anyone who got close to him got hurt and that he is an excellent physician, so focus on the second thought. (Am paraphrasing)
Hi, red!
LOL, red!!!!!
hi red
hi red
I think Kutner sealed the deal
Have now changed icon for the 8 lettered animal.
hi red
what do you mean, metal?
on House... or am I lost, as usual?
sealed the deal on his craziness, i suppose she means.
How do you mean Kutner sealed the deal? His suicide tipped him?
Thanks, hursh!
ooh, your explanation makes sense too though.
and the other dead girl
no.... seeing Kutner provided the last bit of weight needed to tip the scales so he'd realize/accept his craziness
I LOVE AMber as a ghost, LOL
co7please?ty
aha, i was right
I like her much better as a ghost than I did when she was alive
hi all...
Me, too, metal!!!!
hi pini
Yes, you were, hursh!
i think if you weave a little thing to sit on on the floor out of the hairs on a ****nut, you have a co7 ?

hi Pini

I prefer Joe Cocker, danny, sorry....
thx for the co7
ty. on to the da words
any clues for the 6?
hi, pini
kinda like matt from bourne identity.
hi pini
it took me until most of the way through this season of Big Love to realize the actress playing Albie's wife is the same one who played Amber on House
she was also in the pilot episode of psych.
Never seen Big love.. .had I known she was on it....
She has been in a lot of things....
I didn't realize that hursh... I'll have to look for it in repeats
so they are trying to fill some BIG shoes vis a vis song choices
(you might see if you can find her on Hulu, too - for reruns)
(matt bourne was da6 clue)
and falling short IMHO
Big Loves great. Torrent the seasons, you'll like it I'm sure
Maybe Danny can sing. But, I DISLIKED the arrangement.
Thanks, metal!

HI BR!!
TY for arriving and rescuing me, BR!
hello, Scrabbler
still here; but with another window open
Having a nice spring in ND yet, BR?
Hi Pini
spring has finally sprung here
Yahoo for you, BR. We are still dipping close to 32 overnight so I cannot plant flowers and veggies for another few weeks.
Hello, vampire lady
hello all!

I should have seen that--it has been in grids in the past. TY
my rhododendron finished this one in 22 minutes
Hope Nut's not around to see my icon for 'animals with 8 letters' or she'll shoot at it.
I missed d6 above, then just 3 Ps
Hi jac
BR - you have a very clever shrub.
Hi Scrabbs. How are the bunnies?
Very sweet, Jacula. Especially my real life snuggle-bunny+ bedmate Sebastian.
How are your guinea pigs?
BR - timing's about right for finishing the grid in one go. That's about how long it takes me to drink my morning (BIG) cuppa.
A da 6/25 is Matt Da***, add an extra vowel in middle.
da 6 -- add, first person singular and ***day, ***day, can't trust that day
Do you still have the one you adopted, Stid?
TY, BR
And TY Min

Yes, May 31st will be 1 yr since I became her fosterer. I changed her name from Bijou to Miss Beatrix Potter, Miss B for short.
has your sister found a job she likes, Scrabbler?
All done! I haven't finished a grid in weeks. TY all for clues.
Congrats, Scrabbler
Sweet, Scrabbs. You'll have to send me some pics of her.
Congratulations Scrabbler on fireworks!Good for you
Well done on finishing the grid.
Yes, she started with a relaxed, caring firm about 2 mo ago and is very happy, probably happiest job setting for her in her career.
I will, Jac
Scrabbs - I think I saw you some days ago, wondering about your own job? Any decisions made yet?
Thanks, re the pics, Scrabbs.
Good for her, Scrabbler
Still in talking phase with new group--I am optimistic as they continue to ask me questions. At my current practice we had a 4 hr "retreat" today, for the docs, and it clarified my decision to escape ASAP.
Hope you too find your niche, Scrabbler
Hope you make a happy escape soon, Scrabbs, especially if you can put Mr. Richard Head into your past.
BR, the firm is led by a low-key, kind man that wants to provide good law services and he is not money-hungry or power/prestige focused.
Indeed, Scrabbler, a rarity these days.
Niche, that's the word I was looking for, BR.
(Not in the grid, btw. Have done that.) LOL
I am so ready to leave my current situation and to escape the abuse.
It's terrible to hear anyone of your age talk about abuse at work, Scrabbs. What is wrong with the world today? Why are people so pushy and aggressive?
He is an egotistic, narcissistic, critical, controlling nut case.
hi all So, I see there are 48 words. Do I start or do I walk away?
These reality TV programmes don' t help to make a more measured approach to life, I think. TV has far more influence than it should on the young.
Hi Autumn. It's doable.
Goodnight to my fello babblers! I'll see you tomorrow!
'Night Min. Sleep well.x
scrab are you talking about me?
Check out Bob Sutton's book, "The No A$$hole Rule." I e-mailed Bob after I read it 2 yrs ago and his words (in the book and the e-mail) began my real journey to escape.
Scrabbler, what are his bad points?
Do it, Autumn!
LOL BR.
Haha Ruru & BR!!
Hi, all
Hi Ruru.
Scrabs, who is at a new firm?
Hi Pam
hello jac..
And, WHY IS CHENEY STILL TALKING TORTURE??? Rachel Maddow is covering tonight... GRRRR.
just got home from seeing the new Star Trek movie
My sister, after losing her job in Nov, found a great place 2 mo ago.
Hi pam.
Hi, scrabs and jac and babler and ruru
I think providing assholes a lot of toilet paper gets the point across
Oh, that is great, Scrabs--glad for her!
python - my son saw that a couple of nights ago. What did you think of it?
LOLOL, ruru
She does corporate/business law, and that is all I understand of her work.
maybe a couple of cases...
i'm still deciding whether i like it or not
That's what he said, too, python.
I heard it was good, jac... great character portrayal
like what?
Ruru, I do feel pity for him as he is so conflicted inside, so confused, so defensive, that I do feel sorry for him. He drives people away.
the casting was all spot on, except maybe Kird
Kirk rather
go above him and let his superior know what a jerk they have hired
But Vulcans talking about feelings and stuff? That doesn't happen. Except it did in the new film.
vulcans don't feel
That is not logical!
unless Captain kirk has his clothes off
Ruru, he is the boss and owner--no other doc has ever wanted to be his financial partner, including me---too risky.
yes, but spock is half human, and still young as well as fully mature, so on one hand he is still deciding who he is (young spock) yet already has learned what is important (old spock)
ooops.. nm scrabs.. time for a new job
Now, ruru, you're just talking about that spoof on Youtube now, now that real Startrek.
brokeback star trek
python - I did suggest that to my son, but he told me other older Vulcans were doing the feelings stuff, too.
Bob Sutton's advice, if you work for or with an a$$hole, is (1) leave, if you can, or (2) practice emotional detachment. #2 has helped a lot, but some recent direct attacks (I have saved the e-mails) prompted me to plan a departure.
yes, spock's father was rather illogical for a vulcan
Older vulcans are on vulcan social security
smart thinking scrabs.. doesn
doesn't sound too good there
I am glad you are being proactive, scrabs.
I am sorry; once again distracted!
all of things are a real departure from the original series and movies
*alot of things*
Scrabbs unless you're a fully-paid into the idea Buddhist, you only get once shot at life and so you must leave when your life is made bad by work.
and I wander ... I wa wa wa wa wander...
I am transfixed by this whole torture thing, ruru....
I haven't seen the film yet, so can't comment with any real opinions.
torture?
scrabs, i quit my job in sept because of intolerable conditions. i haven't found another yet, but i still know it was the right thing to do.
yeah, Cheney and keeping it at the top of the talking points....
Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? My Little Runaway.
The other 2 docs and the 3 nurse practitioners all agree with me, and we support one another, but I am the only one with a spine, so I challenge him and stand up to him (justice and fairness is very important to me) thus I am the target of his wrath. I am the rebel/renegade of the office and the staff admires me for that.
I can't quit my job
uh oh scrabs.. if he is an asshole.. watch out
while you are there, I am glad you can do that, scrabs.
I am sure that you will be leaving them a legacy of spinefulness
and i wander.. where she may beeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Are we doing Karaoke, ruru?
my lil runaway.. a run run run run runaway...
yes
we have had to tighten our belts to breaking and we are just getting by, but i believe i would have lost my mind if i stayed any longer
Yes, I have taught many of the staff to have self-respect and to always do what is right. We have had a recent exodus of nurses due to bullying problems.
you can't work in horrible conditions.
it causes too much long term body effects
nurses and doctors are in high, high demand
hospitals are the only businesses hiring
Python, every Sunday I get anxious, wondering what notes from him I will find at work on Monday, or intraoffice e-mail.
http://tinyurl.com/c9budo
send that bastard to me scrabs and I will set him straight
lol
The other 2 docs are insecure, passive, spineless docs.
I think it's time for me to really wander..... good luck, scrabs. He needs to be taken down 4 pegs.
ooops I am cussing
awww pammmo
Scrabs, i was taking tranquilizers to get through the day
I would like to do that, Ruru, but he has a big cranium and big balls.
Bye Pam!
the bigger the balls the bigger the target
scrabs, you have another job in mind, don't you?
I should shut up now
Yes, Python, the ongoing stress, anxiety, fear of the next attack, etc is too much, physically, emotionally and mentally.
Even his wife is a submissive Stepford wife.
Big balls can be kicked, Scrabbs, Usually brings the owner down like a fallen redwood.
I do, python--begging a local group to take me.
I posted the Del Shannon track for us all to listen to.
http://tinyurl.com/c9budo
i hope it works out for you scrabs, no one should have to go through that every day
In case you missed it.
He is a spin master, BS-er, defensive maneuverer, quite fascinating to study from a psychopathology perspective.
Yes, Python, after a vicious e-mail attack a few weeks ago, and crying all night, I knew it was time to escape.
great to study, but lousy to work for
Parents love him because he goes overboard to please them but often to the detriment of the child as meds are prescribed when not needed (requested by parents). I cannot watch that anymore.
Don't ever let that man make you cry all night again, Scrabbs. He probably already has his wife doing that. You don't need it, or him.
I so worry that he will have a complete breakdown someday. His defense mechanisms are overused.
I think his wife drinks a lot.
Is this guy the owner?
she would have to to cope.
Who could blame her, Scrabbs?
Is there no one over him?
As for him having a breakdown, that might do more good than harm in the long run.
TY, Jac. I remind myself that colleagues should not treat one another in the way he treats me/us, and I have the choice to leave.
he is the owner/boss but he has made a series of business mistakes, thus debt, thus we are underpaid and overworked.
Your colleagues are toadies.
... start applying elsewhere...
The new job had better work out!! The more I write the more I realize how bad the circumstances really are.
confidentially that is
I will keep you posted. TY all for listening and for supporting.
good luck scrabs... freedom isn't just a word....
I have to wake up in 6.5 hrs so I am going to be a tired, cranky girl tomorrow.
Anyway, speaking of breakdowns, which is what we all thought Other Half's ex was having when she did a runner, leaving her 14-year-old daughter all alone with about 23 ferrets, 3 horses, 2 or 3 hamsters, a mouse, a lizard, 4 cats and 2 dogs, but otherwise alone when she got home from school apart from the lnote she left...
TY, Ruru, and I hope things get better for you too. Good night all.
You have my admiration, Scrabbler. Too few are willing to stand up for what is right.
nite Scrabs
It seems she didn't have a breakdown. She spent just over a week cooly deciding that she wanted her b/f more than her daughter. 2 days later, she 'blanked' her daughter in the street.
ugly situation.. no winners there..
'Nigh Scrabbs.x
she will regret that jac..
my roasted chicken is ready.. off to din din..bbl good luck all
enjoy, ruru
I told her that, ruru, when we met the day before she did the runner, when she was basically telling me she no longer wanted her daughter and didn't care who brought her up, but thought she might give her to me and her Dad.
I begged her not to be so stupid.
But, she got more stupid and made a bad situation even worse.
Anyway, as long as 'she' is happy, she really doesn't care what other lives she f*cks up.
chicken sounds good
but bet mine is better
putting themselves first comes too easily for a lot of people these days
But, on the day her daughter marries after she's settled down from all this and started to feel 'normal' again, I wonder how the absent Mum will fel when she sees me in the 'Mum outfit' beside her daughter on the wedding photos?
That stupid woman has thrown away the most precious bond. And her daughter was her only child.
i'm sure she will regret it someday, but then it will be too late.
It sure will be, python. I almost feel sorry for her. But not quite.
My gain, her loss, once all the angst is got through.
how old is your step daughter?
14.
she is lucky to have you
Just doing all her important exams and options at school.
Her old school and her to-be school where we live are being brilliant about liasing once she gets down here.
good, Jac, I hope it all works out for her.
So do I, python!
I'm not expecting any easy ride once she settles down and feels at home, but I know she will come good in the end.
i have my nephew with me since his parents died. it was rough at first, getting to know each other, but it is getting better all the time. he is adjusting well
I can't even begin to imagine how she's feeling right now. My Mum's been ringing me or coming round to the house about 3 times a day since all this sh*t broke. And, although she's concerned about my stepdaughter, she's more concerned about ME. Which is how a Mum should be.
done! and even had a smoke and company drop by to pick up paperwork. Have a great night all
wtg autumn
Well done, Autumn.
Python - oh, that's a whole new ball game. Did his parents die in an accident?
my sister died of lung disease, my brother in law died unexpectedly 3 months later
At leatme and 'Step' have had 6 years to get to know each other, but I've always kept her at arm's length unless she was obviously upset about something) for fear of upsetting the real mother/daughter bond. Even in the face of her preferring my cooking and all sorts of other things. As a Mum who has an ex who has remarried, to a nice woman who wanted to make my kids welcome, I understand how any praise for the 'Other Woman' might feel.
python - God! That's unprecedented. How did your BIL die?
he had been sick for a few years but nothing life threatening. we believe he just gave up.
We've had the 'wicked stepmother' joke running for at leat 4 years'. Guess I wasn't wicked enough, because it seems she's overjoyed to be with me and her Dad.
i'm sure she is. her life probably hasn't been too stable
you will do fine, i'm sure
python - that can happen, I know, because I saw my Great Grandma do just that.
Python - no, not very stable at all, despite, excuse the pun, her mother being a horse fanatic.
But it will all work out fine, I'm sure - 'Yea though I walk through the vallye of the shadow of death' and all that.
lots and love and patience and things will be okay
Yup.
Sje is NOT decorating her bedroom here all in black though! I came to a compromise with my kids about that. No blac ceiling allowed.
And the walls were drk blue and the carpet silver or purple. LOL.
i went through that with my son. anything but black i said
he went with a vibrant aqua
Evening y'all.
hi peach
Hey there, pythonx.
I wanted to 'Paint It Blak' wtha bit of red, blue nd purple when I was 13-15. LOL. Wasn't allowed to. Not even one wall.
Hi Peach.
I am down to 4...co7-40 please. Thanks
Hey there, Jacula.
i need that one too, peach!
Maybe if they give us a grid with ten words I hope I could get them. HAHA
My parents putup white wallpaper with gold/gilt fluers de lis on it. Beige and white and brown shag pile carpet and white melamine furniture. A teenagers' nightmare! God, they must've scrrewed me up! No wonder I'm still up and posting here at 5.01am. LOL
co7/40 is a rug perhaps made from a choloate drink.
i still have nightmares of the ORANGE & RED carpet my mom put down in the living room, lol
Excuse spelling but I've had no sleep.
got it
python - was hat worse than the leopard patterned carpet my Mumput down in ours? I remember standing in the doorway and sounding off about that.
Thanks Jacula.
i just remember all those bright oranges, greens and reds from the 70's and shudder
It's so funny when you look back about how you thought you could tell your parents what to do whilst in your teens.
But it was their house, not yours.
However, nowadays, kids stay home forever. My son will be 25 this month.
yet somehow, my daughter has no problem telling ME what i should do, lol
He's tried to lay down quite a lot of 'ground rules' recently. Methinks te chick is too big for the nest now and should build his own.
i don't feel so bad then, my daughter is only 21. but sometimes we fear she will be with us til she's 40
we are hoping she decides what college she wants to go to and that she chooses one out of town
My 22 year old daughter, seeing that my stepdaughter is moving in now, has said that her option to come back home seems to have gone (not really, I could give up my office to make a room for her) and she hopes she can move in with my Mum if it should become necessary.
my son is home for the summer. first time in 3 years. but he is very easy going and makes the house a happier place.
May I please have a clue for mo5-14? Thanks
I was a teenager during WW2 and the main battle I had with my mum was anting to listen to music on the radio when she wanted to listen to the news to see if there were any clues as to whehter or not my dad, imprisoned in Hong Kong by the Japanese, was alove or dead.
sorry aout the usual typos
Other Half and myself have discussed 'houss we might buy if we won the lottery' before now. I always say we need a minimum of 6bedrooms, or 3 and some convertible outbuildings. We need to house ourselves, 3 kids and my Mumif it comes to it He says we need a place by the sea with one bedroom. LOL
go with his suggestion!
hi all
mo + *** Rather backwards
hi tijani
Many thanks, pythonx.

python - But I enjoy having the family around.
Hey there, jilli.
hi peach
tell them to buy a house down the road, and visit
fireworks for me
Jilli - funny you should say that, because when my stepdaughter, who is staying with her maternal grandma and grandad right now, rang me earlier, she complained that her grandad kept interrupting what she was trying to watch on TV by wanting the news on every hour, on the hour.
well done, python
Well done, python.
Great, pythonx.
teenagers are self-absorbed
May I please have a clue for da6-24? It is all I nee. Thanks
i think it's the ipods. they walk around with headphones and they tune out everybody else
need.
da6 = Matt Da*** with vowel added to middle
da6/24 sound like Devil's spawn but isn't spelled quite the same way.
python -- there were no ipods during WW2 but we teenagers tuned out everyone else anyway
but jilli, don't you find that alot of kids can't carry on a basic conversation?
Thanks once more, pythonx.
fa5/22 plz
so many i talk to speak only in 1 or 2 word sentences
No, teenagers really can't help not 'getting' what we 'oldies' are moaning about. Their empathy bit of the brain hasn't formed and won't until they are about 19 or 20.
Oh, and Jacula too.
I don't know now -- not many teenagers bother to talk to an old lady
fa5.22 - You see him and PHWOAR! You really fa5.22 him.
hi all, only 38 minutes to find 48 words, oy!
go gwen go
in the Spring a young man's fa5/22 turn to thoughts of love
thx
good luck, gwen!
Aw, jilli. That brings back memories.
yes, jac, sigh!
well, it is after midnight here and i must get to bed. Jacula, it was good talking to you. I will keep you and yours in my thoughts and prayers.
night python
going to change my icon to the 9-letter animal....
nite all
Re teenagers - they are clumsy and awkward because their bodies are changing and their brains haven't caught up yet. Their language hasn't caught up yet either, but their brain actually shrinks once they reach 20. However, it holds far more knowledge (and actually hangs onto it) - which is why after that, the older you get the harder it is to retrieve info from your brain. The little clerk in there has to run up and down lots of stairs to check in all the drawers of all the filing cabinets, which are many by the time you reach 50 and over, to retrive the information.
ooh, halfway done . . .
Gooddnoght Python. Sleep well.
wow, stairs and filing cabinets 8-)
I will sleep half the day now and garden for the rest.
mo5/14 plz
I'm gathering the me time whilst I may, for tomorrow brings a new teenager to get to school, look after and love. LOL

Parody (bad) on a poem by Alfred Noyes.
Jac, give your new "daughter" a hug from me
co 5/14
plz
Got the poet wrong! I meant Robert Herrick: To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time Gather ye rosebuds while ye may, Old Time is still a-flying: And this same flower that smiles to-day To-morrow will be dying. The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun, The higher he's a-getting, The sooner will his race be run, And nearer he's to setting. That age is best which is the first, When youth and blood are warmer; But being spent, the worse, and worst Times still succeed the former. Then be not coy, but use your time, And while ye may, go marry: For having lost but once your prime, You may for ever tarry.
jilli - I will. Thanksx
co5.14 is a chocolate drink from a bean.
Great Herrick poem, and so apt
is the J a real word or a weird word?
real if you're Chinese, Gwen
Jilli - it was my Dad's message to me in my autograph book, and he also drew a rose.
Chinese currency, Gwen.

My dad wrote Greek from Euripides in my autograph book -- translation: It is not Beauty, O Woman, which men seek, but Faithfulness.

No, I was wrong again, it was Tennyson:he Eagle He clasps the crag with crooked hands; Close to the sun in lonely lands, Ring'd with the azure world, he stands. The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls; He watches from his mountain walls, And like a thunderbolt he falls. Alfred, Lord Tennyson

too sleepy to wait for da flip. bye bye y'alls
Ah,at last! I know the Alfred Noyes link re poems and my Dad, (He's been shouting it into my ear for about an hour now.) It's this: The Highwayman The wind was a torrent of darkness upon the gusty trees, The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas, The road was a ribbon of moonlight looping the purple moor, And the highwayman came riding-- Riding--riding-- The highwayman came riding, up to the old inn door. He'd a French cocked hat on his forehead, and a bunch of lace at his chin; He'd a coat of the claret velvet, and breeches of fine doe-skin. They fitted with never a wrinkle; his boots were up to his thigh! And he rode with a jeweled twinkle-- His rapier hilt a-twinkle-- His pistol butts a-twinkle, under the jeweled sky. Over the cobbles he clattered and clashed in the dark inn-yard, He tapped with his whip on the shutters, but all was locked and barred, He whistled a tune to the window, and who should be waiting there But the landlord's black-eyed daughter-- Bess, the landlord's daughter-- Plaiting a dark red love-knot into her long black hair. Dark in the dark old inn-yard a stable-wicket creaked Where Tim, the ostler listened--his face was white and peaked-- His eyes were hollows of madness, his hair like mouldy hay, But he loved the landlord's daughter-- The landlord's black-eyed daughter; Dumb as a dog he listened, and he heard the robber say: "One kiss, my bonny sweetheart; I'm after a prize tonight, But I shall be back with the yellow gold before the morning light. Yet if they press me sharply, and harry me through the day, Then look for me by moonlight, Watch for me by moonlight, I'll come to thee by moonlight, though hell should bar the way." He stood upright in the stirrups; he scarce could reach her hand, But she loosened her hair in the casement! His face burnt like a brand As the sweet black waves of perfume came tumbling o'er his breast, Then he kissed its waves in the moonlight (O sweet black waves in the moonlight!), And he tugged at his reins in the moonlight, and galloped away to the west. He did not come in the dawning; he did not come at noon. And out of the tawny sunset, before the rise of the moon, When the road was a gypsy's ribbon over the purple moor, The redcoat troops came marching-- Marching--marching-- King George's men came marching, up to the old inn-door. They said no word to the landlord; they drank his ale instead, But they gagged his daughter and bound her to the foot of her narrow bed. Two of them knelt at her casement, with muskets by their side; There was Death at every window, And Hell at one dark window, For Bess could see, through her casement, the road that he would ride. They had bound her up at attention, with many a sniggering jest! They had tied a rifle beside her, with the barrel beneath her breast! "Now keep good watch!" and they kissed her. She heard the dead man say, "Look for me by moonlight, Watch for me by moonlight, I'll come to thee by moonlight, though Hell should bar the way." She twisted her hands behind her, but all the knots held good! She writhed her hands till her fingers were wet with sweat or blood! They stretched and strained in the darkness, and the hours crawled by like years, Till, on the stroke of midnight, Cold on the stroke of midnight, The tip of one finger touched it! The trigger at least was hers! The tip of one finger touched it, she strove no more for the rest; Up, she stood up at attention, with the barrel beneath her breast. She would not risk their hearing, she would not strive again, For the road lay bare in the moonlight, Blank and bare in the moonlight, And the blood in her veins, in the moonlight, throbbed to her love's refrain. Tlot tlot, tlot tlot! Had they heard it? The horse-hooves, ringing clear; Tlot tlot, tlot tlot, in the distance! Were they deaf that they did not hear? Down the ribbon of moonlight, over the brow of the hill, The highwayman came riding-- Riding--riding-- The redcoats looked to their priming! She stood up straight and still. Tlot tlot, in the frosty silence! Tlot tlot, in the echoing night! Nearer he came and nearer! Her face was like a light! Her eyes grew wide for a moment, she drew one last deep breath, Then her finger moved in the moonlight-- Her musket shattered the moonlight-- Shattered her breast in the moonlight and warned him--with her death. He turned, he spurred to the West; he did not know who stood Bowed, with her head o'er the casement, drenched in her own red blood! Not till the dawn did he hear it, and his face grew grey to hear How Bess, the landlord's daughter, The landlord's black-eyed daughter, Had watched for her love in the moonlight, and died in the darkness there. Back, he spurred like a madman, shrieking a curse to the sky, With the white road smoking behind him and his rapier brandished high! Blood-red were his spurs in the golden noon, wine-red was his velvet coat When they shot him down in the highway, Down like a dog in the highway, And he lay in his blood in the highway, with the bunch of lace at his throat. And still on a winter's night, they say, when the wind is in the trees, When the moon is a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas, When the road is a gypsy's ribbon looping the purple moor, The highwayman comes riding-- Riding--riding-- The highwayman comes riding, up to the old inn-door. Over the cobbles he clatters and clangs in the dark inn-yard, He taps with his whip on the shutters, but all is locked and barred, He whistles a tune to the window, and who should be waiting there But the landlord's black-eyed daughter-- Bess, the landlord's daughter-- Plaiting a dark red love-knot into her long black hair. Alfred Noyes
and I just found this from Noyes:
Daddy Fell into the Pond. Everyone grumbled. The sky was grey. We had nothing to do and nothing to say. We were nearing the end of a dismal day, And there seemed to be nothing beyond, THEN Daddy fell into the pond! And everyone's face grew merry and bright, And Timothy danced for sheer delight. "Give me the camera, quick, oh quick! He's crawling out of the duckweed." Click! Then the gardener suddenly slapped his knee, And doubled up, shaking silently, And the ducks all quacked as if they were daft And is sounded as if the old drake laughed. O, there wasn't a thing that didn't respond WHEN Daddy fell into the pond!
If that isn't a song for ALESTORM (the band you didn't relate to, Jilli) to do a rock song to, I don't know what is.
Is my contribution suitable for Coolplay then?
jilli - I'd forgotten that. It was one of my kids' favourites, especially since their daddy did do just that!
I used to perform that last poem in voice and action.
I think Scrabbs and also her boss's wife might love that poem.
hi all... love "when daddy fell into the pond" :)
I don't quite understand Scrabb's situation -- a boss? an office? not a private pactice as a pediatrician?
hi kaz -- fun, isn't it!
