peaches go in saute pan with onions, right?
no peaches go in roasting pan withpotatoes
at high heat and to carmelize them
ok ty for clarifying
it is simple and delicious and one hour only
gotcha
have you ever used canned peaches if fresh aren't available?
really sounds like something I would like
use pears if fresh peaches aren't availabl3e
*peaches come from a can and were put there by a man, in a factory downtown* :D
mmm pears sound good too...didn't you mention something about prunes too?
that was for Ma Hubbles famous stuffing
could you use with pork chops or only tenderloin?
ohh? stuffing for poultry?
i'm wiped. g'night and happy babbling, yall! {poof}

milk, wheat bread, sage, parseley, prunes, onions, eggs pecans, and thyme.
sounds great rur
nite flosey sweet dreams to you too
yes.. you can sear them in the sautee pan first if you want.. to seal the juices in.. it is just an extra step.
instead of prunes I usually put apples and raisins into it
prunes make it great.. try it
think I'd do that ...searing in pan first...
missing 4 c's; so far I have 6 ca; 9 co...
sorry dee still need 7
two loaves of wheat bread coarsely torn.. 1 cup of parseley chopped fine. one onion chopped fine, 15-20 prunes chopped coarsely, 4 leaves of sage.. 1 quart of milk and two raw eggs. toss the bread with the two eggs and gently pour in milk.. add onions, and prunes and parseley and pour in rest of milk.. bake in oven at 350 for 45 minutes to one hour coming out with turkey.. you can add nuts to it as well.
do you stuff the turkey too? or do you just cook it separately?
you stuff part of it in the turkey and bake the other in a large baking dish.
and then mix them together later when the bird comes out.
It is an awesome dressing
thx ru...will prob do that with a capon instead of turkey :)

Early morning greetings to you all.
morning merk
hi Merk
slow grid for me
Hi Merk, MRP, Mills & Lickety.
I decided to try early morning before the kiddies wake up. I'm babysitting and am about done in.
have you got them all day Merk?
I have them for 11 days.
Mom is gone to London for work and Dad works long days.
They will have a ball I am sure...hope you feel as happy at the end of the 11 days! What ages are they?
hi lynxx
3 and 5
hi MRP, nice weekend?
Lovely ages Merk, minds like sponges
Then my daughter lives 2 blocks away and has been moving so I have many oft times, too, so it's been a handful.
Boy, I worded that wrong. I have my daughter's two year old quite often, too, so when they are all awake, I'm not managing much else besides them.
that's OK - I figured another child was in the picture. 2 3 & 5 - no, I guess you wouldn't get anything else done. Still its not forever and such lovely ages so I imagine its all worth while (can you tell I am jealous?)
that's OK - I figured another child was in the picture. 2 3 & 5 - no, I guess you wouldn't get anything else done. Still its not forever and such lovely ages so I imagine its all worth while (can you tell I am jealous?)
It is worth it all. They grow up so fast. My daughter is pg so we will have another six years of wee ones.
Does anyone have a clue for the second ra 6. I have 5,6 combo; it's the next 6 I need.
nm ... finally found it.
Fireworks!
Congratulations!!
ty
Well I'm off to the shower, breakfast and kids. See you tomorrow.

Hi Zooz
lol scrabbler, i use a hasp, and a small hand saw
They fit into their slots easily and I will apply grout later today. I am so proud of my resourcefulness.
Scrabbler, the wonderful mind of a woman.!
I cannot wait for Crossy to hear.
So you should be .. :)
and all that money saved for other things..
Wish you were here Scrabbler... I have to do some light plumbing later.
Oops, I just found ca4/8 in the grid!
Hello MOm2.
Yes, why buy a fancy tool when I can use a rock.
No one saw Scrabs..:)
Hi Mom2--what project? I have done toilet repairs.
Mom2, you can go to home repair web sites and even watch videos
I remember years ago going out side to sharpen a knives on the doorstep, it worked.
Just have a bit of a leak under the kitchen sink.
I asked my husband to take a look at it yesterday, as I was running a car wash fundraiser for my daughter's 8th grade class... his response: I'm not a plumber.... LOL... me neither!
Mom2 turn off the stop tap and undo it might just need a new washer.
Yay, Elder. I initially thought that I had a file but when I didn't I thought of a rock.
things might just need to be tightened
good morning all
Hi wolvie
Rocks /stones are good and have been used for thousands of years.
So, I will take a look in a little while... does not leak all the time, just when it is being used a lot... there is an area where the pipes meet that is wet... I think it just needs to be tightened and a have a little adhesive or plumber's tape applied. Really, no biggie... I'm sure I will have it fixed in five minutes... and, guess what? I'm no plumber either... LOL!
Hello Wolvie.
Hello, Wolvie :-)
You can get this "goo" stuff to seal pipe connections
heya wolvie
Yes... Scrabbler... I think I have seen that... I have to go get the plumber's tape anyway... so I will take a look.
Mom2 it might be best to undo and check as if you put just tape on it will leak again in the near future..
clue for the last co 5/12
Really hate these PVC pipes... after a while they do lose touch with their connectors!
And tighten with a wrench first
won't be on long this morning, but wanted to at least say hello and get a few words. :-)
will follow all of your advice... thanks!
Go Wolvie go!
co5 - comfy co***
It really is not the repair I mind... it is my husband's "learned helplessness"... LOL.
also a lettuce
sorry thats the co4
Boobear when you sit by the fire on a cold night with a cup of chocolate you will fell Co5.
Then you show him your resourcefulness, Mom2, and humble him.
ty
Or he will think you can do the little repairs but i like Scrabblers thinking better.
Scrabbler... I will... but the funny thing is he does not care.... you would think he would hate being shown up by a woman... but it does not seem to bother him, God bless him, LOL!
scrabs - i know what i would show him - lol. Go Mom2 go!
doesn't our resourcefulness just reinforce their learned behaviour?
He honestly could care less about being able to fix anything, LOL... I do all that type of stuff.
And make sure you tell him how much money you saved by not using a plmber.
Yes it does jac... but, sadly, if I pay for a plumber then I cannot afford groceries... so, who suffers in the end???
hi all
hi jmc
I already told him that I am fixing this and then buying the new comforter I want, LOL...
My visiting sister just awoke--must make fresh coffee for her. BBS
bye scrabs
i know,my ex was the same
bye Scrabbs... have fun
bye scrabbler
bye scrabs
hello JMc
Honestly, just not his thing... he is very good in other ways, so no big deal... also, I kind of like fixing stuff.
Bye Scrabbs
I did all the handy work when my husband was alive. He would pretend from time to time but he was terrible with tools
Mon2 good for you, and saving the money in call out charges and work done.
Listen... plenty of things I am not good at... and he picks up the slack there (mostly)....
exactly -- he did the wash and ironing
;-) Mom2
my MIL was scandalized
funny jmc!
We all have our strengths and weaknesses... the key is finding someone whose strengths fill your weaknesses!
I liked that we didn't feel bound by sexual stereotypes
well - have to go and tend to some things - bbl. Have a great day all!
No, us either. As long as it gets done, I say.
Bye Wolvie.
exactly mom2
bye wolvie
Bye Wolvie and you too.
Hi Jm. COffee is brewing for my sister. This is my attorney sister--reading QDRO for fun, JM.
Mom2 ditto.
I think my heat actually kicked on this morning... it is chilly here!
sounds reasonable to me though I would rather read tax code (really)
My furnace first went on back on Sept 16--not going on daily yet though.
hi all!
She does corporate and business law bt has been asked to expand to other stuff--ERISA?
I think we are in for a brisk winter here in the northeast... just a feeling.
Hi TO
Hi Owl
my furnace went on so I turned it off. I am wearing sweaters this year
hi TO
Hello TO.
ERISA is pension stuff -- I remember when it was first passed under the Nixon administration
Yes... I am thinking I must adjust the thermostat... a little soon to be paying for heat.
I have a fancy thermostat so it was just easier to turn it off entirely
OK... have fun all... bbl... must tackle under my sink!
I set my thermostat at 60-63 and wear layers.
GOOD LUCK, Mom2!
have fun plumber mom
Bye MOm 2 and good luck,
thanks all... *poof*
I am coming up near you today TO
good morning, all, catching up with the chat - we believe in equality, neither one of us is very handy nor cares to be, but we do pay the price in fees.
where will you be, je?
Hello JBV.
my daddy the machinist taught most of what I know
Hi JBV
hubby definitely has the edge in designing and decorating, though. Most people I know think it's weird he goes shopping alone for curtains, paint, etc.
not reall near -- McConnelsburg PA
not near. beautiful day to drive, though.
there is an organic farm up there which my sister and I buy food from
why is that weird JBV? It is amazing how sexist people still are.
so true, jmc - I have lunch with some people who spend the entire hour discussing models of washing machines, style of counter tops, etc. - I couldn't care less
laundry is still a chore, no matter how red or shiny the machine is
what is the photo in your icon JBV?
it is hard to believe there are 145 words in this grid.
morning all or afternoon as my case may be! :)
hi jen
that's raritan bay, perth amboy marina - where I go out to have lunch (to avoid the washing machine conversation)
Hello Jen.
lol jbv looks beautiful
hi elder, just noticed you also have a beautiful water view, it's lovely to sit by the bay
Must be away. Happy Babbling everyone.
is that you in front of the Taj Mahal, jmc?
bye elder
Byee.
yes at 6 am -- if you go during the middle of the day the crowds and the smog are too bad!
i am tryiing to find ways to get to travel. considering arranging a trip, the arranger gets free passage. but then yo have to deal with any issues that come up.
that's beautiful - jmc - would love to see it one day
well make sure the people on the trip are people you like and want to help
lots of teachers travel that way, TO, but you're right it's a lot of responsibility
it is actually very beautiful but the experience of Indian left me with no desire to return
and that was a new experience -- I usually want to go back and see more
My son and I travel sorta low end, but in India that is a terrible mistake.
So if you go, go on a tour.
we visited friends and traveled on our own
well, it's on my dream itinerary, jmc, but i'll file away your suggestion
if i want to experience india i just drive to the next township. it is amazing.
Howdy everybody. It's the perfect autumnal day here.
I saw many beautiful and many creepy things
hi gramma
hello gramma
me too, TO - where are you? we have a large community in central New Jersey
you two are close to each other (in my former Tx standards)
does anyone have a clue for in7 please?
oh i know - a coworker told me to go there if i wanted to buy saris for decorating. bridgewater/raritan, right?
Woodbridge, Edison, most of the neighboring towns
clue for en 6/18 pls
JM, I am showing your web site (the center) to my sister
Sorry, I just started and I don't have either one of those.
my dad has made quite lovely friends in the indian immigrants who run the store on the corner where he lives. they are lovely and they look out for him all the time.
they have big celebrations with parades for special holidays - Denali, Festival of LIghts, is coming up
Hi gramma
ty scrabs (does she have money and want to donate?) *cough cough* perhaps she wants to be a probono attorney?
hi gramma
or is it Diwali?
hi, scrabbler.
Denali is a mountain!
en6/18 en + vowel + abbrev for opp of brother
Haha, due to divorce she is broke raising 3 boys with 2 in college
and Boobear
TY, Une
diwali is the festival of lights -- but close
yw :-)
I can dream can't I?
hi, Une, your boy is following you - he's here again today
ty
hi une
bbs, must hang wash. i am running late today.
Yes, JM, we can all dream.
my poor poor boy . . . sigh
hey, jmc and JBV:-)
What, Une?
refering to Rafa (in the grid again)
I need to go grab a few things in case some HS kid actually shows up for First Day School
jmc, I just read your profile. I have a son in DC studying to be a lawyer. He's at GW.
Rafa Nadal -- he was defeated by Cilic -- didn't make it to the finals in Beijing . . . wondering if he'll ever make a full comeback from injuries
Your sister has all my sympathy raising 3 boys and practicing law
Have him give me a call gramma www.centeronconscience.org
my son is at GWU as well but an undergrad
It is quite tough, JM, with alcoholic noninvolved ex
jmc, does he like it?
if he is alcoholic then it is better he is noninvolved
Oldest boy has lived with me since age 16--junior in college now
DC is the place to be when you're young, ambitious and motivated - I lived there for 8 wonderful years,
he loves GWU but is past ready to graduate -- he is 24 in 4 weeks
went to Georgetown
he did college the slow way
Yes, but youngest son (just turned 16) has chosen to live with him--mostly to help take care of him
so you are saying you are not motivated JBV? ;-)
slow but steady, jmc - mine is still thinking about it and he's 25
I love living in DC and it is a great place to raise youn'uns
scrabs i had a friend in that situation. very, very hard to take care of alcoholic parent
Oh, I'm still motivated in my own little world, jmc, but DC opens up so many possibilities, for those who see the big picture, then life intervenes and we make the choice we have to make
I told him to wait until he wanted to go to college because I couldn't afford for him to drop out!
and it worked really well for him
Yes, I wish my nephew would not feel an obligation to look out for his drunk father
My son almost transferred to Georgetown. He stayed at GW because of an absolutely incredible prof.
well as an adult child of an alcoholic all you can do is encourage the boy to go to al-anon
depends on the law he wants to practice gramma
I wish, JM, and maybe someday. The 2 older brothers infeq see their dad.
laundry needs hanging bbs
He's in his last year and still hasn't really decided.
bye TO
I survived, most children do
But with baggage, je
well like I said tell him to give me a call and I will be happy to talk to him about the real world (and the current lack of jobs for attorneys)
He also hasn't decided which firm he's going with. DC or NY
scrabs we all have baggage with or without alcoholic parents
So true, jm!!
he has a job offer? lucky him. he must be brilliant
My attorney sister discourages anyone from becoming a lawyer now
the major blood baths of firm firings has stopped and they do like the low pay young'uns but there are not a lot of jobs out there
He has had several. I believe he is taking a year off after the bar and going back to South America. He is quite smitten w/that area of the world.
My pharmacist sister loves her work and encourages kids to become pharmacists
I always discourage anyone who thinks it is a good way to get money --- it is a hard career and you should really want to do it
but if you really love it there is nothing like it. I love being an attorney
It is tough work with long hours
He was born an attorney or a great debater
but I used to joke (but told the truth entirely) that I was a part time attorney because I only worked 40 hours a week
Must go make pancakes for breakfast--yummy!
clue for en 6/30
debater is not necessarily the same thing but it doesn't hurt
breakfast time for me, too, see you later, good luck everyone
got go teach sunday school bbl
*poof*
en6/30 en + where your eyes and lips are located
I told him that graduating from law school was like winning a pie eating contest, the prize being more pie.
ty une
yw ;-)
thanks Une for the en6
and fireworks.
yw and congrats, zoom!
can't get the in7, does anyone have a clue please?
I will give you a clue in7 as I am able. Kind of compound.

I'm off to do some more ironing, see you all after I have finished this basket
you are close TO
Nobody noticed. Nobody noticed when I put a woman's name in.
i did
See you later, Katie.
but too greatful for the clue to say anything
when? where?
It's called not biting the hand that feeds you!
exactly
Morning all. How are you today?
The Governess, TO. The 'Shall we dance?' lady.
(I didn't notice Haz. When and where?
Good morning, Nef. I'm well.
ok. she's old news :P
Ah! I even got the clue from that too! Thank You!
It's gone off the page.
gee i wonder why.
What did happen there TO?
No idea.
i just do not believe there are 145 words in this grid. i don't even have a 7 letter word yet.
well i ad.... u too look harder
in7 is a triple compound word
Haz ad7/44 TO to keep looking, although I agree it's a shake your fist grid at times.
and if you don't find any it will be a sc***** worthy of the gutter press
ty
i actually typed admonish
ty jac
yw
i'd admonish u look harder??
As if I would ever admonish anybody. The idea!
i am just an illiterate slob
ES words have me stumped. Any help out there?
No, you're not. Look at how you can spell illiterate.
To, that's the Last thing I'd ever believe about you!
lol.. but like to know where u got that m from
and u r not
and that was supposed to be TO...
joanne: i find when you do not see a work you should just type without looking, then go throught he brainstorming process. admonish begins with ad
es plus an auto, es6/18 is another.
ty I can't believe me sometimes
es6/18 - think petrol firm plus not out.
ahh to
i really really want to buy jewelry i saw on tv. help me, you all. keep me occupied
gramma the only es word I have is es5, a severe burn (clued as es+ auto)
ty
ty nef and haz
Thanks for all those clues.
don't do it to
i love jewelry and all accessories. really. more than clothes.
Distraction for TO....
TO, have you ever found the website Bidz.com (not that it will help you NOT buy jewerly, though!)
Yes, but you'd be better to see things in the flesh.
you should see my costume jewelry to
it was a neat silver ring, smokly quartz with enamel cheetah print on band. big rings are in and i do not have one.
clues for the lower I? in7 as I have the in7
i agree with haz, when the sudio lights aren't making them look brilliant they are probably a disappointment
also onyx with zebra print
animal print rings????
I'm allergic to metal and I love jewelry too. For a while I was buying lots of jewelry there
in4 and in5 - relating to knowledge, but shortened.
all: i have been a qvc shopper for years and have only been disappointed once or twice. seriously.
aha duh tx for the doublefish, haz
No problem, dan.
hi, all. I just created a dedicated profile on Firefox for FaceBook.
Will you suit a big ring? Have you tried them on?
distraction for TO; http://www.regretsy.com/category/jewel ry
It does make a big difference to see things on.
yes http://www.qvc.com/onair/RecentShows.a spx?cm_re=LN-_-SHOPPINGTOOLS-_-ITEMSRE CENTLYONAIRm item j33600
the whole regretsy website is hilarious :-)
ok i thought we were suppose to be distracting to
gee une: it seems all i have are regrets :/
that url was for jac, sorry i did not do tiny url
awwww, TO . . . :-D
ty TO
cheetah print silver hoops, too!
ok, FIREWORDS for me -- must go do something constructive . . . bleh *poof*
what do you tink, jac? i saw it on it was fab
ohh get it to lol
Bye Une!
It'll be a bitter pill for TO if other babblers buy up all available stock on QVC.
lol no thanks
i don;t suit big rings
i'm broke, have another home to pay for now
not getting the pic TO
band is small, smokey color is unobtrusive. i do exercise much caution though, they will make everything sound loike th ebest thing since sliced bread. esp the clothing
T O, if you want someone's opinion, I think it's a bit on the tacky side for a ring to be done in an animal print.
i'm inclined to agree with nef, still haven't seen it though
I know. Those QVC folk are so positive about everything.
thats because they are paid to be
no, i am very, VERY good at putting toegther outfits and wager i could dress anyone who asked in a way to faltter them.
So it's not that they're incredibly optimistic and open-minded?
Earrings are okay, but rings are a more permanent accessory (IMHO, anyway). Women change their earrings more often than their rings
no Haz, lol, it's that they are on commission
Dear me. And there I was thinking that they were doing it for love of mankind.
we're talking an investment of less than %40 and it has resale value.
any help with that lower left corner A? I'm drawing a blank here
TO, anything, no matter how pretty or rare is only worth what anyone id willing to pay for it
the new hosts are extremely irritating. i remember when they started and the best host was a high school drama teacher
The 2nd NA5/16 has me stumped. Help,please.
You're being very persistent, TO. You wanted us to distract you!
oops dryer buzzed happy babblingto all
af4/7, not near
We're going to have to resort to patching, scratching and thatching, aren't we?
ai4/4
NM got it.
ai and 2 consonants, plural end
thanks, jacq. I was going the wrong way; what a fish that is!
lol it is
Afternoon all
hi FM
Good afternoon, FM!
Hello Haz! Wonder how Ata and Liz are?
If the cloud base was too low they wouldn't have been able to jump.
Pretty nervous, I'd imagine. What time are they supposed to go?
Hello Nef :) I should imagine it is all done by now, brifing was at 8.15 am
So we just have to wait for the reports?
Im going to attempt to send her a text (which wil take me about 10 mins to type 'how did it go?') LOL
what did they do? Parachute?
No chance of either of us developing texter's thumb.
Yes, parachuting to raise money for Dogs for the Disabled.
oh, My! I would never do something like that!
They didn't think they would either!
Definitely not, just managed to spell Hi wrong twice *sigh*
They are both mad Nef, Ata is jumping with another babbler Lizsark.
Just put a question mark, FM. She'll know.
FM, they have to be mad to do that. And Lizark? I haven't seen her around for such a long time!
She wasn't around as much as usual, Nef. People kept coming into her shop to buy things and disturbing her babbling.
I've managed Hi how did it go luv fm, now to find her number.
That's pretty fast. Do you have nice big print?
No v small text and on a tiny mobile with light bouncing off the screen but it has been sent. :)
WTG, FM!
Anyhoo, hows the grid today?
Well done!
It's an exercise in remembering words used before.
hi fm!
:) to me a mobile is for making the odd phone call or for emergencies and tha tis all. Hey TO, nice t see ya!
I sent 2 text msgs to my son this AM (to check on sick baby); but it took me about 10 minutes for each of them. Needless to say, it took him prolly 30 sec. to send back a long one (than goodness he didn't expect an answer!)
I know, no screeds for me.
So glad it's not just me Nef.
It's not just you.
I have to change my settings to "ABC" mode since what *I* expect "ENG" to type when I hit certain buttons isn't what pops up at all!
I couldn't figure out why my sister wasn't responding to text messages. I finally had to ring the phone company, only to discover that I had barred her. I have no idea how I managed that!
LOL!
Wow! I didn't know there was such a feature!
... and now for the mobile phone masterclass (not).
Nor did I. The lady was very patient but I'm sure she thought I was a right one.
LOL! My mobile phone company keeps telling me that I can have a free uprade now. I've had this cell phone for about 4 years and am just getting used o most of it's features; why would I ever want to change and have to relearn new stuff again? It works just great anyway...
spoken like a true ludite
OK fair warning I am diving in, stand back - you have been warned! 3 .. 2 ..
1!
I only changed mine recently because my daughter had broken hers and there was a bit of trading going on. Poor salesman had to find me a cheap phone with big numbers and as few bells and whistles as possible.
And I STILL managed to bar my sister.
haz they sell one liek that here with a real operator to assist you.
oh TO; for years I had to stay up on every new medical device approved or in experimental stages and did it willingly. This old phone is sort of a security blanket: I can fall back on it's "older" technology
Honestly? Imagine having to train someone to deal with someone like me. How long can you keep them for?
isn't it for small children, TO?
hahaha
lolololololol
if you say so, nef. haz, google: jitterbug phone
Googling....
Hi jacq
hello again FM, sorry was trying to recue my breadstick from trouble
can anyone clue the en's please? they are driving me nuts and i can't get past them
One of the things that bugs me about the newer phones is that why would I want one that takes pictures? I have a perfectly wonderful small camera that takes beautiful pictures that I can take anywhere
how did your bradstick get into trouble? mmm food.
en plus eyes, chin, lips etc, en6/18 - en, a vowel, shortened female sibling.
Jitterbug phones look like the way forward, TO!
those are the only 2 en's I have too
ty ty ty
good morning, babble pals
no texting tho
well trouble is 17 months old and believes anything granny eats is hers
You're welcome.
oh I will have to google too brb
heay beach
i don't find those operators very friednly. i think they are like the kids they are hiring now that roll their eyes at us older folks! ;)
I figure phones are made to communicate with. Texting is sometimes the ONLY way the kids will answer; but I don't need the internet or cameras or other things to go wrong
hi beach
Hello beach.
When my bf got a new phone he kept taking pics of his ear thinking he had hit dial :)
Gosh, Darn! Don't we sound like a bunch of old foggies though this AM!!?
lol
haz: next topic is "jitterbug complaints" i am checking it now
LOL, FM!
ROFLMAO @FM
lol fmitch
Yes, it seems some have had to be recalled.
Hi Christa We are not old fogies, we just choose to have phones that make phone calls, thats all :)
my phone does everything, but i only call and text, and take pics of the grandchildren lol
good morning.... I am so enjoying this mornings talk...what would I do if there were no babbling?
complaints that operators canno keepup with calls and bad customer srvice re billing.
hi crista!
We had a funeral on DH's side of the family out in Oregon an few years ago while I was recuperating from foot surgery. (DH has MS, and some cognitive problems, BTW). He was travelling with other relatives, but I put into speed dial several numbers he'd need while out there; wrote a little instruction list with the numbers and taped it to the phone so he could call who he needed to.
When he came back; he had erased half of my phonebook list and double copied all of the rest!
lol
i managed to double all my contacts
I love the guy; but he's never using my phone again! ;-)
Oh? Jacq; how do you do that? I've never figured out how he did it
i dn't even know nef, but i think i copied all my conrtacts from my sim card to the phone memory and vice versa
This is where it starts to get technical.
lol
i couldn't undo it, had to sit for hours and delete every double
Memories? Why should a phone have a memory?
the phones own settings are in it's own memory, then you add to that
I'd probably end up doing something drastic and brining down the phone network.
Rats, have used up my babble time and not entered a single word yet, must get on with some other stuff but hope to be back a little later. Will let you know if I hear from the 'flying babblers' :)
Shame you didn't babble, but you'll get to it later, hopefully.
Football results coming in?
Bye, FM! Stay away from the jewelry sites and QVC!!!
lol no haz, ata and liz are skydiving
Chatted tho wich was very nice. No all done with footie till tomorrow, been working all morning and have chores to do now.
Okay, see you later, FM. No reply to the text, I take it?
well at our age it is god if something ha s amemory...
No :(
I missed Church. Babbled too much. God will forgive me, though --I hope! ;-) After all, keeping good company and spreading world wide cheer ought to count for something!
*poof*
Yes, because mine is fading fast.
My phone and computer have memory; should we have some too?
ok must move. just taking out winter shoes and both pairs need repalcing. ihate shoe shopping
I can go upstairs intent on doing something and will have no clue by the time I get upstairs. It's infuriating.
iput one pair on yesterday and they split!
Shoe shopping is a big responsibility, your feet are depending on you for comfort and style. There's more and more comfort creeping into my style.
same here, Haz. But I've found that if I'm tired, I can't remember anything at all; so it's better to get enough sleep (and write yourself notes)
TO, that's a definite sign you need new shoes.
I always buy shoes that are comfy the minute I put them on. If they aren't perfect at the start; then aren't worth buying. Always buy shoes after 4 PM BTW.
I don't think that was what Imelda Marcos used as her 'I need new shoes' criterion.
i.e my old pair has split.
iam har dto fit and o tend to try to get one pair for every purpose. it never works. imelda i am not
LOL!
lol
I'm not into shopping at all, whether shoes, clothes or groceries. I have about 8 pairs of shoes, but some of them are over 10-15 years old
(And, I should throw some out as they no longer fit since my surgeries; but I have emotional attachments to them
My younger daughter had a pair of boots which she wore to death because she loved them so much. She's managed to use the leather from them to have a bespoke handbag made, so their usefulness goes on.
wow, Haz. I'm impressed! What is bespoke?
Made to order on an individual basis.
She found a lady who offered the service; she was also happy to include some handmade buttons which my daughter had, so it's a very personal handbag.
nef you are like my dad. i try to tell hi the heels wear and more importantly the insdies wear, so they look fine but no longer give required support. it is their way, the older folk, to make do but with shoes it does not work.
i have gym sneaks with not a mark on the outside that have borken down and can no longer be used.
It wasn't too expensive either, which pleased me!
TO, I'm one of those people who isn't hard on shoes. And since I've never been *in* to high fashion. my shoes are still very nice and in good condition
sounds nice, haz. i am a one handbag person.
haz you have mail dear
I like handbags, but the prices charged for some of the designer handbags are outrageous.
Checking.
nef, what has fasion to do with it?
I would buy new nursing shoes every 1-2 years, but they weren't ever worn down and the inners looked good as new too. I bouhgt new shoes for work because I worried about bugs/contaminents and because I was afraid they *might* start causing foot pain
nef: you are really something
afternoon all
nothing, TO. I never followed fashion; I've always worn comfortable things
(removes boogie man from under nef's bed too)
Hello ruru.
oh, you emtioned it as if it was relevant
Hello Kazzer.
??? TO? (trying to figure out if that's an insult of complement) ;-)
just kidding.. you have to change your shoes if you are nursing
(Hunkering down, checking my shoes)
hi ruru and Kazzer
I am barefoot right now personally
i am not into shoes but i am into handbags - i have quite a stash
i am wearing flip flops, i will do so until the frost hits my toes
they are happy to roam free ;)
i am in nice cosy slippers as i have had cold feet most of the morning
LOL, ruru. so am I right now (slippers off feet, under footrest, feet bare and on top of footstool
shoes are very unconfortable for me..
oh? how come ruru?
I really haven't found shoes that fit me well. I can wear these great english shoes, but they hurt after being in them all day.
What are the English shoes?
wow. I was taught to shoe shop *after* being on my feet all day as that is when you can best tell if shoes are comfortable or not.
they are called "Churches" they are an english company.. they make beautiful shoes.
I have a long and wide foot
I love my crocks after along day on my feet
I am very useful in putting out campfires..
lol
ruru, what size are your feet? DH's are 11, 4E's
13 X 4E
DH found that New Balance has comfortable casual shoes for him; don't know if they go up to 13's though
who is dh?
hmm I will check on those.
Dear hubby; my better half (most of the time!) ;-)
lol
oh, i thought it was a babbler
ru i can relate, my feet are wide and shoe shoping is time consuming and frustrating
our son tried the brand name shoes (Nike, etc) and found that the most comfortable shoes for him are the cheap Target brand shoes. It all depends on the shape of your foot
I know.. I buy shoes and put them on for the day and they don't seem to fit after I get them out of the store.
if you have weird sized feet, I'd suggest going to Nordstroms and having them fit your feet, TO.
Unfortunately the shoe company I buy from is only in NY...and I have to arrange to go shoe shopping while there.
Yes, Nordstrom is great for that, TO
good morning DC
ruru, have you ever been properly fitted for shoes?
Morning Seain
yes..
nef: i can't afford nordstroms. by the glares they give me whne i walk through the store, they know it , too.
doesn't really help.. I tend to have flat feet too, hence the campfire joke...
after proper measurement, most companies don't make them in my size anyway
Good morning dc.
Morning, ruru, nef, TO, Haz :)
hi seain, how's tom?
I actually have 2 different sized feet, my left foot is an 8 or 8 1/2 now; and my right is a 6 1/2. Nordstrom doesn't advertise it, but they used to fit each foot separately and I could buy one of each size and pay for only one pair of shoes
He's doing well, pain is starting to diminish, TO. Thanks for asking.
Hi everybody! Has inone in the Flip-Flop fan club tried the new FIT-flops? They are the most comfy footwear I have every worn. Dreading the onset of winter, when I will have to cage my feet in shoes again
TO, my sister has short fat feet (like 3 E's) and she used to buy shoes through Lane Bryant. I don't know if they still sell shoes or whenre she buys them now; but I can ask her if it would help. Re: Nordstroms, I used to dress up before I went there! :-)
Hello Soodle. I've seen the fit-flops but not worn them.
Oh, DC! I'm so glad he's doing better now!
Oooh Haz. a bit pricey, but well worth it
good. i shoould have left hours ago. happy babbling.
Bye TO! May you find shoes that fit.
Soodle! I just googled them and they make winter shoes and boots too!
Bye TO!!
Oh joy, oh happiness Nef. Now, all I have to do is find the money :(
haz: i am holding my breath ;) *poof*
Toodle-oo!
hello
Hello Dorens, how are you?
*unpoof* hi doren! i found recipe for the cake by julia child. it is properly called bee sting cake
Anybody heard from Ata? She was doing her jump today, wasn't she?
i am doing just fine haz, thanks, and you? and owl, i am so impressed.. the grand julia herself?
She was and not a peep so far.
hasta, TO
light yeast dough with honey almonds and italian meringue folded into pastry cream :D
I'm fine, Dorens, thanks.
well the jump should have been jumped by now, yes?
owl, are you actually going to make a yeast dough and meringe, as well as pastry cream? aren't you the one who said you don't cook much?
It should have been jumped. We're wondering if cloud cover might have aborted things.
Its not the jump that would worry me, its the landing!!
well i have not even ventured into the grid yet, so I will jump now
i did not say i ould MAKE it, jus tthat i found the proper name and recipe.
She's either so drunk with success and euphoria that she can't communicate, or so stricken with shock that she's forgotten she has friends who need to know.
ohhhhh. owl I was about to name you top pastry chef of babbleonia
hi Dorens
this recipe was given by Julia Child years ago in McCall's magazine.....she stated that there was a great Restaurant in New York that she and her husband frequented and this cake would be on their dessert cart. Three times she asked for it for her dessert selection and by the time they were ready for dessert, they would be sold out!! The fourth time, she ordered her dessert first before the meal and had them place it on her table to insure she got hers!! After tasting it she realized why it would sell out so quickly....she asked for their recipe.
Oh bless. I hope it all went well for her
how could ata forget us... impossible. hi nef
Well, we wait on for news...
did she mention the name of the restaurant owl?
I'm going to take a break to have a look at the paper. Enjoy the grid and happy babbling!
not in this blog, iwas thiknign the same thing. but B & W has it all the time
cheerio haz
*gone*
bye haz!
cool owl.. then so shall we (with a little luck) (thanks to you)
bye Haz! Have a good day!
i just hope it lvies up to the hype.
be well, haz
what is B&W?
bakery in owl's hometown. across the river from mine. and she is going to pick up this magical cake next week and bring it here for our babble meet
refresh for somethin gto tide you over doren
oooh crumby crumby crumb cake!!
the fanous heavy crumb hall ! i shall put one in the pb
all i ever like is the crumbs, and they have a very high crumb to cake ratio
good idea
my mom would smack my fingers for picking them off. my grandma would wait till she wasn't looking and pick the big ones, the ones that are like fcrumbs on top of the crums, for me. i did not like the cake part just the crumbs
yup, the cake is just plain cake, not worth the caloriees, imho. at my school a couple of people make it every time we have a festive occasion... i take a piece back to my office and eat the crumbs, throw out the cake (shhhh.. don't tell)
i understand cushman's made one that was better?
don't know cushman's.. we used to go to butterflake or gratzel's.. butterflake was terrific
Haz if you are still here Ata and Liz have done the jump and are back down safely!!!!!!!!!!!
yes, no longr there
YAY FOR ATA AND LIZ! give them our best
can't stop got toast under the grill back in 5
cool, glad to hear FM
and exhilirated, i would think???
hi seain
thats fireworks for me - so i shall go and investigate lovely cake recipes - you have been making my mouth water
congrats, kaz, and njoy
kazz i can give you the bee sting website if you want
we are having sausages for tea tonight - with lovely fresh bread from the farm shop and then some home grown rhubarb
yay kazz.. if you make the bee sting, let us know about it.. take pictures, send it to the pb!
http://www.recipelink.com/mf/2/7148
ddoren i sent you the recipe, you must know someonw who will try it?
only my mother, and I doubt that she even she will do that , no at this point. will look at the recipe hough, thanks
hmm sometime i will get together with someone to make it.
i even cooked last night and it was good, i needed to begin again.
sounds like a nice meal kazz. do you combine the rhubarb with another fruit or just stew it alone?
go owl!
oooh, that sounds lovely, TO
in mood for sausage which is rare, turky sausage roasted potatoes peppers onions
what is sausage w/out sauerkraut
i will - it looks interesting but too complicated for me - i think i will make my fav choc chip brownies - they are very very naughty but gorg so i will let you know
plain sausage
galnces sidewise at seain with narrowe eyes* seian: do you bake?
i never cared much for sausage, even though i love pork, but chicken sausages are one of my old standbys, now that i don't like to cook too much
dorens - we just have it stewed by its self - its is beautifully sweet and tender
yes, i bake
sausage without sauerkraut is - iltalian saisage!
i like an occasional polska kielbasa
they come in such lovely combinations... mushroom and asiago cheese... sun dried tomatoe and mozzarella... chipotle...
cava is so a word!!! a delicious bubbly one!
we are having pork and honey sausages - we have seen the piggies what went in them
the 2nd stand on the right at the West Side Market in Cleveland has lovely kielbasa
on the left, rather :">
uh, TY DC, will remember that - LOL ; )
so the peppers and on5 s are required. the roasted potatoes with oregano are just extra
everyone will remember that for their next trip to cleveeland, no doubt
lol
onions and peppers with chicken sausage yum yum -- hardly any work and yummy flavors.
and add the potatoes w.oregano abke all and a one dish meal
well its just plain oven baked ones for us with a bit of bread to chew on - have a good evening see you tomorrow
bye kazz! put some brownies in the pb, they sound yummy!
i like rhubabr
be well, kaz
rhubarb is a happy. :)
or maybe even rhubarb. we used to grow it in our garden and my mom made such wonderful strawberry rhubarb pies
doren, a trick i learned from my mother was to also reaost chicken breat on the bone with the sausage peppers et alll. they get the lovely seasoning and you have the next day's meal
grandma made strawberry pies and rhubarb pies, and served them together.
owl, want a glass of cava? it's in the grid
and sso is a favorite italian white wine.. so5
can have with ve4 fa4 and on5
finally got half way... will probably never make nbt on my own
ty for fa and on, TO
thanks owl, i didn't have them!! all this talk of food in the chog and i didn't see it in the grid
which means it is lunchtime! going to get the car washed and some pizza
soso is so a word!!
enjoy it owl
usually hyphenated, i think, dorens
have fun, TO
true, seain.. it does look funny as soso .. so-so.. that looks funny too. guess i have never written it or read it. some words are just meant to be spoken only i guess
Back again, had to have tea and toast whilst it was still warm. Hello Dorens and dc :)
hint for va5, pls?
wb, FM
hello Fm. any more details other than the jumpers jumped?
va rhymes with chinese bears seain
add a consonant for va6
ty, dorens
actuall chinese racoons,if i recall
all the txt said was that they had just got back down which would have been about 5pm GMT and that Ata loved it and Liz still hadn't stopped shaking yet :)
may be.. i've always heard them called va*** bears
I should inagine there will be a fair bit of celebration this evening!
i would be more along the lines of liz, but then again, i probably would never even do it! even when younger. i am too wimpy for that sort of thing
yes, i'd expect so, FM
not wimpy - sensible like me, I'd rather run a marathon than jump out of a plane.
oh i like that.. sensible.. much better ring to it
hmmm... that may be a toss up for me FM - LOL
i'd rather jump from a plane than run a marathon
dc good to see you, how is Tom doing? Hi kje :)
hi
He's well, thank you, FM. Healing well, and pain diminishing at this point.
How goes, KJE?
well kj, you could always jump right into a marathon... hit the ground running
Oh good and ((())) to you both.
annal
shoot
LOL dorens. Or jump into the sea and move right into a triatholon
just so!
LOLOL dorens - now that would be a true worst of both worlds scenario
*pewpewpew*
kj can have some of owl's bee sting cake she was putting in the pb
KJE goes OK - taking a break from unpacking but must get back soon
bee sting? ummm, sounds lovel?
she put in a website earlier.... julia child raved about it
well, julia would know
dunno where it got its name, but it does sound lovely. Owl described it as having honey, almond, and a pastry cream filling. I can't wait to try it (she is bringing it here next week, courtesy of a bakery)
would like nbt before i go back to my unpacking hell... just need that bottom row I - any clues?
oh yum sounds gorgeous. Calorie free of course :)
I adore honey in all forms, dorens, will check it out
i have gaping holes in the bottom row myself, sorry
fm, it is always calorie free when it's in the PB, but when she actually brings one here for our little babble fete, that is a whole nother story
three words kje
is the in 7
please don't make me say bad words in the chog, ru
in + just ** + not near

*dreams of making it to a US babble meet*
just trying to help and you jump all over me.. jeez
would be great fm... when are you coming?
or you could organize a UK one, FM
can anyone clue me the en6/18 please. Can't seem to get it at all.
True dc but I was thinking more of getting on a plane (and not juming out of it) :) Anyway I am going to dive in for a while *takes up dive position and switches over to lurk mode*
brian en* + not bro
ty again ruru
Of course it is!!! How did I not see that one. Thanks a lot.
good day everyone. I was hoping for a huge grid today, but now I seem to not even be barely addressing this one!
Hello again kids.
this one is small, but needs thought
hi red and scrabs
I need to relax--I vacuumed the entire downstairs and have laundry going.
Scrabbler, you are amazing, is the new job going along well?
(looks at our downstairs and wishes scrabs was here)
Yes, this is my first weekend on call--it started Friday night. No office hours on Sundays.
So far (knock on wood) I have not been summoned to the ED
thats great.
Hi, guys. Hi Scrabs, and Ruru, and Red, and dcs..and...jeez, I feel like the Lady on Romper Room....LOL!
welcome, jai
Hi jai, Seain, how is TOm doing?
I love vacuuming.
Are all of you done with this stinker?
I just hit 50 words.
well, thank you, red. hurting a bit less, though coughing and laughing and sneezing are still hard, as the bone's not full knit, though it's externally healed
go, scrabbs!
i have 39 to go
Ha, I dont even have 39...
Yay for Tom. How nice that this is getting farther behind for Tom & you.
I'll be glad to clue you, but only if you want it.
I will keep searching for a while then use the list then beg for clues.
k
My sister spent the night here and we are watching our hapless Buffalo Bills play the slighter more hapless Cleveland Browns, although if we lose then we are more hapless.
both those teams suck
LOL!
although Cleveland is imploding right now
At least none of you are Cub fans like me...
TY for making me face reality, Ruru. I just wish a Buffalo team (Bills or Sabres) could win a championship for this city. My father would be thrilled as would many old-time, loyal fans.
you cannot callit being a fan, exactly, more like a masochisitc obsession with the impossible, like Don Quixote
I would be thrilled. I am a Bills fan.
hey gang...starting late today....hows the grid looking?
and TO Owens will cause incredible disention on the team
grid is hard
Hi Ishult--a tough one.
morning babblers, been months since i've played!
Hi Onyx--where have you been?
hi, ishult and onyx
it's a tad tough today
Hi, onyx!

Yes, the need to earn money.
Seain have you heard about the job yet?
Retirement seems farther and farther away as I get older.
no, red, but i'm applying for others, including one that i'm recommened for by a current employee with Novell's BSM division, which i used to work for
never happen for me still i'm glad to have a job
Good luck, Seain.
Oh, yes, I am grateful for work and a paycheck.

My sister is laughing too
there's great content there, but that was just totally LOL

Yay Boobear!!
oh, yay boobear! sorry
I searched for it on the site, feather--easy
maybe i'm at the wrong site or something. searched, checked tabs, no luck!
congrats, boo
http://tinyurl.com/yav9f9l are the mooncakes
thank you! i see my problem...i searched "mooncake" not "mooncakes". sheesh. funny!
yeah, the search tool there is not the best
that was cute. ok, off to get milkweed for our caterpillars.
njoy, feather
i'm putting in words that i know are words cause i play babble but couldn't define them if i had to.
yeah. playing babble comes in handy for scrabble, too
just looked them up . wish dictionary had origins in it
define: word in google
or etymology: word in google
cool, thanks
and I keep putting in words that look like they should be there , but are'

Then maybe I need a break ! LOL
well. it worked for me up to a point.
Just gonna give a few more swipes , to try for NBT first.
i'm actually still not there.. with 99 words found, still two tiles that are taunting me
OHH noo...
therefore, no list for me! i'm hoping that once i get them, and get to the list, this will flow a bit more freely
Would they happen to be on that last column on the right side
I am coming up all blank there, except for the bottom n LOL
ah! i have beaten one. .now there is one yes, it is on the righthand column. it is the s. but i am sure i will find it eventually. atleast sure for a few minutes
I have faith Dorens go

I'm a doin', get to OK someday :)
havent had it yet,im going to drape several slices of it over the ham we are doing tommorow for thanksgiving
hope so bunny -- my garden totally languished this year. NEVER got things taken care of. the trees survived, but a lot of the smaller things didn't make it through the heat-wave and drought.
is it thanksgiving already? *runs over calendar* I guess so -- you having a big shindig?
I knwo what you mean, I let mine go a bit this year too. The coons took off with my drip hoses and I'm not big on standing there to water. Looks like we are gonna have an early freeze too. Maybe next year?
Canadian Thanksgiving
yes, let's plan on next year.
And bacon covered ham sounds yummy, may as well start scratching the diet now with the holidays coming up!
diet is dead! im doing mashed with gravy yorkie puddings caulfower with cheese, and about 3 dozent crecent rolls
up to 60 words, would like NBT before I hit the books again. How about the i on the bottom row, and the A above the F please?
you go for it, cross! it sounds delish. I would probably kill for curried cauliflower soup this week (starts making shopping list).
i: 411
hello gween and thanks. *thinking*
Hello!

oops, wrong a
that's the A in the corner gwen... LOL

hey lindy!!! I can see you!!!!! (sorta - my eyes are tired)
hey soodle!
STIDDY!!!!! I have booked my flights!!
and changed my flag! lol
Hi Stid! Added you as a friend on Facebook!!
cool! I'll stop by there -- I am going to have some time this afternoon to catch up on that I think.
I see you changed your flag lindy -- how soon do you leave?
7th dec!
home for christmas
i tried facebook once, all theese really scary people from my past started showing..had to run for cover
golly gee. That's awful soon. *sad face* but I know you'll love being back with your family.
LOL crossy!
I might even get some UK visitors before I leave! lol
I use my screenname cross -- only people who are still in contact with me know it. So I don't have to deal with peculiar people from the past.
im serious! had to cancel facebook after 2 days lol
i should of done the same stid
I only add those I want to keep in touch with crossy!
make a new one with your cross identity... that's what I did.
With family scattered all over, we've found FB a great way to stay in touch, see pictures, etc.
that is funny lindy -- they can't wait to see you until you're settled in?
yes stid and I will be staying with them first! lol
I maintain my website for family and friends. It's just as easy, and a little more private.
very nice, lindy!
Is it just me, or are 80% of the people in the "people you may know" feature on Facebook people that I do know, but I deliberately choose not to be friends with?
well there we go, past halfway and NBT.
okay, I am determined to read one more chapter and then check facebook. Though it is tempting to stay here and chat.
gotta go may BBL, take care everyone, hugs
Bye-bye
*sigh* see you-all again soon. ((lindy))
*leaves choclits on table* *Poof*
BYe Stid, good to see you again!

it helped me soodle, ty
:)) bacon is everywhere and everything;))
Soodle, I read your clue as 'Australia', not 'Austria', so it didn't help me. LOL
saw an article about bacon beer.. suppose you have that?
nope, not much on beer, though i do have some bacon vodka perkolating in the kitchen;)
But Crossy, think of the poor little piggies, bumbling around their pigsty, off their snouts on vodka...awwww
Dorens, take the B out of that thing you said to crossy, then plural it
how 'bout the va5 (&6, if it's not pl?), please

any clues out there today? need a lot.
70 to go but dont really care these days if I finish
Still at only 60. Even tried 'blave' (Billy Crystal's joke word from "The Princess Bride")
mkg that's never a news flash!
you are so right. but yesterday i finished with one 3 clues. was amazed.
Could do a lot more if there was only a T on the grid!!!
now that's a news flash!
maybe it was 5 clues. dont recall actual number but remember being shocked that i did it without many clues.
I usually do without clues - I don't like to go on chog much anymore.
i actually love the clues part best. the chat is what keeps me on the grid. i find the clues clever and i love it. seeing if i can solve the word from the clues is fun for me. the most fun of the grid.
me too as we've discussed dear met

our own little gay pride parade in the chog
I don't like the concept of that - makes people think they have to when they're not ready yet....
hi folks .. scrabs ... in7 = in***** as you went to med school and did your internship and residency, you are entitled to practice medicine. make sense?
true but staying in the closet is such a shame & a sham
must learn to love & accept ones self
what about us heteros????????
mkg, I cant get this
so what?
Yes, but it IS a process, deadlines put undue pressure on a process....
I'm straight?
same as the first , but need to just change last con?
I don't think its meant as a deadline so much as a celebration of coming out!
sue w hat cant you get? the ad? or the in????????\
av
And for those of us who are out, that's fine. But I've seen too much abuse aimed at people who try to come out too soon.
the last av 5/6, sue? av + ***propyl alcohol (then plural)
indeed met thank god the world has become more accepting though...not like the old days
*wondering why I cannot see in7*

hi Nef!
hi Pav! How are you?
This is a long weekend for you? How come?
we have been relaxing all weekend...have a bit of wor to do from home...and for home but it'll wait until absotively posolutely necessary
Columbus Day tomorrow
wor = work
I know what you mean. I'm just starting the laundry myself....
Ah. You work somewhere that allows other holidays.
ick! i have some to do as well...will wait until the sun sets...
state gov't...what's left of it anyways...
I work tomorrow, but am lucky it's only half a day. I worked too much last week
I keep dreaming that my laundry will do itself!
and I dream the dogs will do house work as well...
it's nice to dream, helps me through the real world
amongts others, I am missing an I and O from the center row...
are you working for NBTs?
past that..I have 39 left...
I have 1 I from the center row and do have both of the A's
I mean O's
os 4/4 and os5/10
ah, it's a fiver...
the only i I have is a io4/4
thanks Nef...last column greyed...
ic4 and 5
thanks!
and they would be fish, too wouldn't they? :-)
whales...!
yep :-D
So. With an extra day off tomorrow, are you going to celebrate the holiday or just do chores?
*chores*...should do more to get the place ready for my mom nd sis coming at Christmastime
I'm afraid I would *waste* an extra day off doing chores too. I've missed the whole summer doing that. :-/
weeknds are for sleeping, so not much time else for cleaning and chores...
only sleeping? I don't like my bed that much!
I sleep whereever the bod says ...in a chair on the so4 but yes, mostly in bed...withthe cool breeze of both fan and nature
I'm bummed. I want to watch the Twins vs the Yankees and can't find it on TV! :-(
a clue for the n in the top right PLS...and hi nef and pav3 and all babble land
Nef,is it blacked-out in your area?? I am listening to it on the computer.

OMG ty so much and slap me wtih the whale tail LOL
do you have direct tv Nef?
I don't usually eat breakfasts on Sunday...but this morning I had to rise and shine early enough to meet my bro and his 2nd wife on their way back from honeymoon in Hawaii, flying through Phoenix with a stop...so we et at about 8:00 am...now I'm hungry again..
I fixed an amazing spaghetti casserole for dinner tonight
joansie, it does seem to be blacked out. Where are you listening to it (what channel)
dinner at MaMa's
The more the merrier
we always have enough to go around
Back to the grid I finally have NBT but only 69 words done
I have an account on mlb.com Does TRN mean anything to you?
MaMa, we do have Direct TV (sorry, I'm eating right now)
Oh Nef do you subscribe to the MLB
ok off for a bite
it doesn't Joansie.
We don't subscribe to anything extra, MaMa.
In my area (Delaware) the Yankee game is on TBS, if that helps any
(I work for a charity, DH has disability retirement. Can't afford a bunch of extras these days)
I think it might mean Turner network. There must be a radio station that broadcasts the twin games in the metroarea.
no score at the end of 3 innings, Nef.
Thanks, Joansie
Same here Nef and I just checked the guide and I dont see it on anywhere
we made a deal in our family to subscribe to the nfl ticket so we dont go out looking at games and spend more money eating out lOl
Times are tuff all the way around
Gonig to look for 7 more words just to achieve the 1/2 way mark and must call it a day/night. Peace and happy babbling all

yeah I heard it was cold. And same in Denver
6-10am, all week, except tues and wed
It's suppose to get colder starting tomorrow but for how long and what kind of cold is always up in the air
yeah, we should all gather at your place to thaw out
yeah
come on down
we've been nasty cold since your birthday
and then we can have sushi
!!!!
its been cold in the house but great outside
lbd, I would die trying to work that early all week long. I have to do it once or twice a week and it nearly kills me (but then again, those end up being 12-14 hour days for me)
good walking the monster weather
you get kinda use to it, and then take a nice afternoon nap, nef
those are awful hours. I couldn
do it
naps are nice
Hi, all!
It's Monday that's the pits. 6-10am then teach 5-8:30pm

I don't often chat these days, NEF... Did you find the game on TBS?

hi wuwu!
OK, ruru, I am ready

Tonight, I am drinking Elmer T Lee--seemed to go best with vanilla ice cream, LOL
hi pam
Hi, kje!
yes, she's the middle sister. I convinced her to try babble, and now she's addicted, or at least getting there! lol
hi kje
What do you teach the vets, lbd?
hi pan, lbd, monkey, ruru
2007 Cortijo Rioja Tinto.. ($9.99) per bottle.. fabulous
LOVE rioja
basic computers, ru
hi kje.. hi everyone.
can I go next ru?
hi ru!
yes.. go ahead
Woot! We can now see the game! (I don't know why it didn't work earlier, but I just retried TBS and there it is! :-D
i also teach them to have fun! we laugh a lot in my classes
who's playing, nef?
are you near a vet's hospital lbd?
need wine rec, general, no name needed, but grape and general descriptor or something like that
Twins vs yankees, it's the playoffs lbd
What is it, ruru?
having soup night - 2 soups, would like a red and white wine
no, the closest v.a hospital is in Missoula and that's really only an oversized clinic. the VA hospital is in Helena
kje, i say can't go wrong with merlot
merlot for red and pinot grigio for white
1 soup is sweet and sour cabbage with beef - beef broth, lemon juice, cabbage, raisins, big chunks of beef - an eastern european jewish dish
what kind of soups, kje?
the other soup is roasted butternut squash and sage
mmmmmm , i'll take a big bowl of the buttnet squash soup and a glass of chardonnay
oooh, both sound delish! Hubz made minestrone, yummers
I would recommend either dry gewurztraminer or a fairly rich chardonnay for the butternut squash soup.
the chardonnay would go nice with the butternut squash
Evening y'all. I have a friend here helping with the puzzle...(I'm trying to get her hooked on it).
salad will be greens, bitter greens, pears, blue cheese, nuts - that kind of thing
are you making the soups? the beef soup sounds really intriguing
ooo - love gewurtz
We do need a clue for en6-30 please? Thanks
Hi Peach! Hi peaches friend
Hello, gapeach. Did you get your email account squared away?
hi gap's friend!
Hi there, lbdawger.
en + what you look at in the mirror
i do not have it gap
Hi BR
I would go Sauvignon Blanc or Sancerre with the other.... reds won't do well unless you get a pretty Pinot Noir or Beaujolais.. I would recommend the Chateau de Segries Tavel Rose 2008 with the meal.
Hi there, BabbleRabble. Hope you're well.
yes, homemade soups, nef - and that beef soup is to die for, one of my all time faves...
en + the long-running news program, **** the nation
kje must be entertaining tonight.
Thanks, lbdawger.
Yes, new yahoo email.
your saying sb or sancerre with the salad, right?
Are the vets disabled, lbd?
Thanks, BabbleRabble.
with the sour soup and the salad kje
not the beef cabbage, raisin soup thing
some are, BR. one just needs to be a veteran, and interested in learning to be able to take my class.
hey, BR.
Hello, Nef ... close game
interesting ru... would have gone with that with the salad, but not the beef stock
trust me
i do, that is why i asked
the cabbage and veggies call for SB..
k
thanks ru - you rock ; )
that soup sounds great though
and sorry to make you talk shop
no problem.. happy to help
Now that I can see the game, I'm a happy camper, BR
its a william sonoma recipe from one of their cookbooks a long time ago... thankfully i saved it, cuz can't find that book anymore
will post it in my profile
if you can find that Tavel.. you would be suprised at how good it would be too..
please do, kje. It sounds like something DH would like to m=try
will try ru
will have to call around
appr price per bottle?
brb, laundry needs some attention
$16
ok, posting now nef - brb
Evening everyone...just arrived home from a weeks stay in Spain three hours ago and what pops up in the chat; a wine from the Rioja region - certainly had many wines this week from that region in particular....all delicious.

ty br
They would certainly have it.
ty lbd
phlbbbbbttttttt, rkb. my part of the country is freezing! we're colder than Fairbanks Alaska!
Snow...NOT yet!
I would also recommend the 2007 Henri Pelle Menetou Salon Morogues ($22) for dinner
lbd gave the excellent clue
BR, I was afraid you'd say that. We're expecting snow again during the night; only it sounds like it may last a little longer this time WOO! HOO Twin scored!
Are you a computer maven, lbd?
i don't know if we have specs in dallas, let me check
not even close, BR. I teach them mostly how not to be afraid of the machine and mechanics of using a computer.
they'll learn how to use email, word processing, surf the internet, download pictures. stuff like that, and some maintenance stuff, like defragging
Thanks for doing that, ibd. I am sure they appreciate it.
ok, recipe in profile and icon pic is the soup pic
it's my pleasure to work with these folks. We're all veterans and we have our stories, so it's nice for them to be able to come to a place that's going to be safe for them to express themselves.
kje, that recipe really does sound good and hearty
no, no specs in dallas... houston and austin areas only in TX
too bad....maybe another really big retailer?
I need to take a walk.. have fun guys.. I will copy down the soup kje..Thanks!
no prob, ru, I'll call around - thanks again

i've had most of this year off with my dodgy uterus (hence all the babbling time), and finally they believe me that the only solution is to remove the whole kit and caboodle (not the technical name for it, but dont want to put kje off her snack)

ty
must be an aussie thing, kje

nooo waiiiiit a miiiinute - vowels
blame it on the brits, they add useless vowels to everything ; )
plus, they are asleep and can't defend themselves - LOL

bummer, will you have someone to celebrate with tomorrow?
Sorry, swmbo. I misread your last post as being a good Thanksgiving
is it thanksgiving? r u all getting squiggle eyed on yams with baked marshmellow on top? (ozzies are intrigued by the idea of veggies as a dessert)
yes, I will go over to Jose's house and proably have a little turkey lurkey

whoooo hoooooo SUE!!!
congrats, suefrad
vegemite is up there with haggis and goats testicles - it's primarily a dare food inflicted on na5 foreigners
now that, I can believe, gort
a new zealand pal of mine spent 2 weeks plotting and scheming to get vegemite into some american visitors
they were too smart for her until...
a dab of vegemite is better than super glue
they were about to get on the plane for home and she gave them some parting home-made chocolates with creamy centres...
creamy, creamy, vegemitey centres
eeeeewwwwww
oh, that's cruel!
very sneaky, gort ;)
yes, we're a cute nation, but not nice
bet they thought something was wrong with the chockies

Good news, Nef

Oh, that's great news, Nef (about turning the corner); sorry to hear it was such a stressful night...

Thank you Minveryork - been lurking, and trying to get past 78 words.
oh- poor little guy... that is rough!
oh, definitely more than colic then...
glad he's made a turn for the better tho!
he seemed to have colic while here. They actually cathed him for urine and also gave him IV fluids.
Poor little baby ... hope he;s soon improved.
he's doing 100% better. He also likes Pedialyte (grape flavored)
bet you'll be keeping some of that handy from now on, eh?

Hi harpjane! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
I think Harp knows plenty of Babblets, so she should do alright.
19 left here... going to list
I'm not above going to the list. does this mean there IS a list?

I need tochange to the new keyboard as this one sticks like hell, but I don't want to do it until me and Beloved have stopped smoking (not sure when that will be and suspect, since he's achieved it before, he'll do it far easier than I will).
Well done, bigred.
Jacula, when my husband died, for some reason I just found i didn't want a cigarette anymore, even though he had quit several years before me.
Helllo snags! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
So, I would take two cigarettes out to tje cemetery, lite them both, put then on the ground, and give him hell for leaving me
Never did smoke againl.
Hi minveryok
Hi Snags
SO, my point is, you will quit when u feel like itl.
Did your husband die of lung cancer snags? My hubby smokes and I hate it! I wish that he would quit as well
No, Min, he had a massive stroke and I never talked to him again
is the si6 a normal word?
nm- i see it now
snags - thanks for that info, but I don't want him to die before I think maybee I should give up. I guess what youare trying to say is that we either just get fed up with smoking and lose the desire to do it, or something else happens. Or maybe it was a shared addication? It killed him, you let both yourself and him keep on doing it, hence the graveside scene? I understand that scene.
Guess it was normal enough for you to find so quickly
yes MIn- it was a normal fish
how many, DR?
24 Pini
and You?
8 here...wanna race? * wicked grin *
Go Pinikula go!
snags - I've seen your other posts now. I see what you are trying to say. And thankyou.

I think I mut be very selfish, because even my children (now grown up) begging me to stop smoking doesn't work.

Hi jmcnrick! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Yes, I do. Unfortunately, things are not very good between myself and the kids. At this time of my life, i can't fix anything, and I have to live with it. Sorry for the pity party. Oh to happier things.!!
Snags, you are correct in one way, in that only you can decide to take care of your own health in what you drink, smoke, eat etc., but that doesn't mean you are alone.
Pini- 4 left
Go DR1965 go!

in that case, git'r dun, girl!!!

Congratulations DR1965 on fireworks!Hooray for you
ty Pini and BR and JMC and Min
BR - didn't your doc mention how the low blood flow to your extremities coud eventually make your toes go black and drop off? One of my Mum's neighbours never knew how many toes were going to come off when she took her obese, drining/smoking old hubby's socks off at night.
my daddy gave up smoking over night and my husband gave up smoking 3 weeks before he died
ich jac!
omg Jac, how awful.
cmon Pini _ I am waiting at the finish line
go pin go!
did you finish last night pin?
gads, jmc...I don't remember! :(
I'm tryin' DR... 5 more
lol pini!
It was awful, snags, but she carried on.
ra5/12?
ok ... like the ring tailed animal minus an O
jmc - (Hugs).
The ra 5/12 rhymes with eggs and b**** for breakfast
I left you in Nef's care!
thx!!!
thanks for the hugs Jac -- you completely ignored me the other night ;-)
ummm... uhhhh... how many words were there? Maybe I did finish ;)
there were 142 last night I think
Did I jmc? I'm sorry! It wasn't intentional.
I'll check
or was that the day before
146 words and 1671 points
I was eithr Nissed as a pewt or concerned with familyu stuff, I guess.
Is there a way I can find out if I finished it? (gads, feeling a little dumb right now)
In the archives Pini
You can go into the archives, Pink.
It lists how many points everyone got
Does it really matter that much, though?
yep you finished pini with 22 minutes to spare
not really, but would be interesting (didn't know you could do that)
oh, major sigh of relief, jmc!!!! :)
allo! soy finito..
no she just feels a little silly since I asked and she didnt remember!
down to 3 now ;)
wtg Pav
How do you know she had 22 minutes left jmcnrick?

Goodbye PAV3!I will see you tomorrow in the chat log
you can read the whole chog with time notations
jmc - I do tend to ony focus on people asking for clues if I'm either nissed, working or listening to music.
oy! thx!!!
so I found where she said she finished in last nights chog
bbl for the flip!
it was fine jac -- like I said it got funny with feather and me jumping up and down trying to get you or crossy to notice
Oh yes! I look at the day's chog all the time jmcnrick.
no bad feelings at all
well you can look at yesterday's too
jmc - that's sad! You should have just checked the finishing stats. LOL
and now for the annoying last word...
OH, I'm so HAPPY! I'm not the most nerdy person here.
...back to the no6 (1st) plz/thx?
*grins*
first 3 of the word above + not brother
An no6/18 is no 4/4 plus to be (thrid person singular)
The no 6/18 is no plus anagram of spanish six Pinikula
no6/18 means 'thought or intelligence'. NO + vowel + your little female sibling, or short word for her.
never noticed the stats on the previous day archive before -- but they don't give the time anyway
what? are you saying I am nerdy?
oy vey!!! thank you!!! FIREWORDS!!!
ratatatat- WOOHOO Pini - ratatatat
