Phagophobia or Sitophobia
according to phobialist.com
I thought you were kidding ruru
I think it is sitophobia
fear of food or eating or being eaten
when earlier west?
I don't kid about phobias...
ty dart -- phago is the fear of eating, I believe, not of seeing others eat. I'll check sitophobia -- ah, there you are, ruru!
lol
sitophobia..sounds like something a really energetic person would have
he's a lurker...wonder what the fear of being lurked upon is?
I can't sit down I have too much to do
I respect your fear of snakes that's high on my list as well
I can't get that he 7
arrrrggh
nope, that's not it -- again, it's fear of eating or of food, not of seeing OTHERS eat, which is REALLY weird.
it's a crime ruru
starts with a dutch beer
ke 7 if not said
that guy must not take his dates to dinner
ty west, the dutch beer helped
he 7 ... adjective often use with crimes
yw flosey it's a staple around here
got it
quite right, west -- seriously, he admits it's a big problem and he's trying to overcome it with help
oddly enough, not here, until son comes
that would be a very difficult phobia to deal with jilli
got the he7 -- as dee said, it's an adjective describing something bad, not just a crime
kn 6
who has this problem jilli
5 left -- too tired to search for them tonight -- see you tomorrow :)
ruru, as I said in the profile, a writer for Time magazine whose name I can't remember
he wrote a column about it a few weeks ago
just guessing he isn't the food critic
good night nan
en 6 x 4
he might be, ru -- he doesn't mind eating by himself in a private booth or something
"Hey baby, what's your sign?" "Ne4"
although I don't think Time runs a food column often if ever
thanks doug

Morning/evening all How goes the grid today?
jilli we watched it earlier
hello FM
hi FM
Hi westie and bye volley
Greetings jilli
I hope your day is bright and sunny FM
like your pretty icon
west, I was so hoping to be able to see this and I'm so glad it was on late enough
well it is above freezing but very grey, just been out in the garden putting some food out for the birds and sptted at least another 6 bulbs showing that weren't there yesterday, spring is deinitely on its way.
they have such a sweet story
yes, west, and such a happy ending/beginning
I think you'll have to give us a play by play FM we'll never have Spring again
I get so excited about each and every one, can't wait to see what they are going to be 'when they grow up'
oh that's right you didn't plant them
daffodils or crocus or who knows :)
maybe some tulips too?
oh tulips, hadn't thought about that!
back, just saw hen and Zhao
Nice, eh flosey?
I think I saw sprite planting some
beautiful
didn't you love their choice of music too?
they're a husband/wife pair aren't they?
I love spring, it's the whole start of life again after the darkness of winter, I can't wait!
they're a husband/wife pair aren't they?
I love spring, it's the whole start of life again after the darkness of winter, I can't wait! Hi flosey
I love spring, it's the whole start of life again after the darkness of winter, I can't wait! Hi flosey
good morning everybody. Wel, West, you taped into my main fear, too. , if those are what I think. I'm NOT making it bigger. I can deal with them outdoors, but not in the house.
hello FM.
tulips will be later of course
hi there ruby
oops hic up time
hi ruby
I hope it's not animated!
Morning ruby
hi FM
hello flosey jilli
no ruby it's not but you're a gardener
FM what you said bears repeating
:)
they were married recently flosey
my tulips started in November because we had a cold snap. I replanted the bed (with help, of course), took everything out including some poorly lavenders from last year, added about 200 lbs of soil, added another 50 tulips , re-planted the old ones and then covered everything with dead leaves for protection. It was early December but then the snow came and covered them, and they are still visible, so it may be a success.
before* not because
thanks west
we have nothing peeking and more snow on the way
I can't wait to start planting, am already working on the garden plan
Oh west, your spring will come
flosey I just can't imagine the sacrifices some of these athletes have to make
we have snow drops all around the property
some day my spring will come...
either that or you will just go straight to summer
it's amazing, isn't it west
I have different "themed" sections of the garden. The one I was talking about is along the steps down from the street and is the "wedding bouquet" garden.
and then I'll be complaining about the heat lol
spring is the best season here
lol
oh ruby that sounds lovely
wow ruby, your garden must be beautiful
ruby, what a great idea
sounds lovely ruby
yes ruby we need to see pictures when it's in glory
what makes it special is the limited color range and th fact that when we bought the house it had nothing except a couple of trees, shrubs and a hedge.
I will send you all the photos you can stand!!!
will look forward to seeing them ruby
we definiately need to see pic ruby.
*pics evens
post them in your flickr acct so they're in your profile
morning all
hi sprite
is your husband a gardener too or is this your project?
hi sprite
gd morning sprite. Is it very cold there? It's frigid here
morning sprite
Good morning spritey sprite
No, his responsibility is the grass. I have others to help me so that I can just design and point. It's my first garden (alo my first house) and husband gave me free rein.
inside and out
what fun, ruby!
hello dear babble friends. Enjoying the new themes and the ways you picture them!
mine is eww-y
west, yours is Scoleciphobia :)
I was very lucky the way it worked out as 11 yrs ago, the dollar was still valuable; now this area has become chic and we never could have afforded it.
I'll remember that sprite
great timing ruby
that was lucky ruby
sounds chic, doesn't it
ah yes I remember the times back then when money had value and the world seemed a lot saner.
I suppose so sprite but it's still yucky lol
the house isn't chic, however, it was really ordinary, but when we re-did it, I made it look older by the colors and materials I used and by using all our old furniture
how long have you been in France ruby?
as we were just married, it was a new start for us. I mostly used his stuff; mine is mostly in the studio
I have to go and get an apple with that Norwegian cheese -- back soon
what kind of cheese, jilli?
sounds delicious jilli
we're out of apples and I'm pretty sure we don't have nay of that cheese either
any*
I like cheese melted on apple pie
halfway the Ks
is that your weird phobia sprite?
it should have been, lol... letterK-phobia. No, I picked another one.
I 'see' yours now
apple pie or just apples with Wensleydale cheese is a very Yorkshire thing.
love that eye
hehehe it IS kinda scary, this icon
the cheese is Gjetost
FM then I must be very yorkshire because I adore yorkshire pudding
I know gjetost haven't had it in years and yes it is wonderful with apples
to refresh to see that spooky eye, sprite!
I knew we had a connection west :)
it's made with goat's milk isn't it?
*had to
I have no idea, west -- it's brownish. Someone called it "peanut butter cheese"
I know what it looks like it's sweet too
Francis has an eye icon and it spooks me out every time she is online
so there's your phobia, FM?
good point jilli
brb
can't find a name for your phobia, jilli. Found a reference of somebody else asking for the name, but no answer.
I must be off too for a while have some things to do before the day gets going.
bye FM, have a good day
bye FM nice to see you here
bye FM, see you later
nobody seems to have a name for it, it's so weird!
Hi
K konkered

wtg sprite -- mine aren't
someday I won't be able to say I cannot stand K words... I am getting good at them!
HEllo.
west: one year old. His birthday was Feb 2
how time flies
my goodness, sprite, it doesn't seem like a year!
It seems like yesterday we were waiting for him to be born
so true! And he is still the best there is!
ruru will give you an argument about that -- he is besotted with his little dylan
he gets a lot of love
and dart with his Sasha
and andree with hugo
and Andree and Hugo
snap jilli
snap west
lots of furry children in babble land
dbl snap!
love those furry children!
lol
ruby how is max?
last I heard you were waiting to see the vet
jilli, how about Ithyorectiaphobia?
pffft they are all prejudiced.
wow, I'll check that, sprite
I guess you made that up, sprite -- google never heard of it, lol!
I combined the relevant parts of anorexia and Ithyphallophobia. Oh, that would make Ithyorexiaphobia.
Ithyphallophobia being Fear of seeing, thinking about or having an erect penis
I thought I detected a phallic symbol there
oh my!
it is the only one I have been able to find so far that refers to seeing something being done :)
that is too funny
maybe that's what scares the guy about seeing people eating
should I say it?
sure, west
some lists are pretty good, separating the known disorders from the made-up ones. But no matter how weird a thing you think up, some people are bound to be afraid of it!
say it, west
a hard man is good to find
roflollllllllll
funny this morning
EXcellent, west!
I'm glad all the guys are asleep
postman has just delivered me 3 cheques for £25 from my premium bonds (a UK svings account where you can also win money) nice start to the day :)

don't spend it all in one place FM
practicing your sambas everybody?
jilli Lent has sneaked up on me
nothing, josh, we were digressing from finding a name for jilli's phobia (theme) to babble chog stuff ;)
jilli, should I add the other themes to tomorrow?
i nominate pagophobia
you'll have to give up the dreaded w****s!
is it the start of Lent tomorrow?
?? pago??
it's Wednesday
pago or phago, josh?
fear of ice
ashes
pago
argh, I have had enough ice and snow to hold me for over a year
that's a very good one
ok thanks
maybe, sprite!
i have been accused of being a pagophagiac in the past because of my tendency to crush ice
that would make you a pagomaniac, josh.
now I want a drink
pardon my absence I had to get dinner
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pagophagi a
pardon my absence I had to get dinner
was it any good, lady?
roast chicken and oven fries and veggies. Simple and easy. Didn't get home till late
by for now
bye* duh
mmm, soounds good, herin
bye rubyfoo
sounds delicious, lady
drizzled with balsamic vinegar
yummy
it is not too bad. I just needed plain and easy today
I think I have been pretty good by not picking the Fear of seeing, thinking about or having an erect penis as my icon today
good one sprite
*smug about being good*

i daresay i've had it much better than people slightly north of here
Were is crossie

it has been cold and we got snow twice this year. we usually may get it once a year, if that
I ahve no idea

thank goodness my bag is set for the morrow
we have been extremely lucky this winter it's been very cold but we haven't had that much snow
trip planned herin?
I am too tired to move
Class tomorrow. I tend to get ready for the day so I am not in a hurry
i drove through new england just before new year's on my way to nova scotia. a bit of snow but it didn't start in earnest until i was in canada
that is the best idea herin
And my clothes too
I waved when you went by josh
herin I need about 2 good hours in the morning to shake off the cobwebs
Yep. I have everything sorted pre sleepy. Otherwise forget it

O and lunch organised too
there you go all set
I cant think in the am

I have a period of time in the day I am awake. Night I calm down then get active again
i have made a pizza, its in the oven
I am good mornings and evenings. But afternoons are hazy.
I was wondering if yo had left. Hi Andree

I am sure I have bored everyone with the cleaning caldy and Haz/Ata meet news but am so excited about both!
Kensington
Good reason to be excited, FM.
Ata has promised to brind her camera.
You'll be hitting the posh shops then, FM?
lol I don't think so - a tad out of my price range and also not quite my style.
Is Spangle coming across too?
Fraid not lynxxx but we might get a glimst of Mr HAz!
Really?! that will be nice!
I remember going into Harrods Knightsbridge with a friend many years ago. We wanted a Harrods bag each but all we could afford was something from the food hall. Unfortunately, the bags had 'food hall' printed on them. So, we didn't look so glam in the end.
me too Jac, but the day I bought a ball down from there I thought I had died and gone to heaven.
*gown!
Ball Gown? LOL
lol
I had visions of you lobbing something at a glitter ball and bringing it crashing down, then racing off with Mr. El Fayid's men after you.
Or even Al Fayid.
I was 21 and spent £250 on this wondrufl huge 1980's big puffy thing - it was just the best dress (other than my wedding dress)
What was the occasion?
...and is there a photo?
Company do - and me and my soon to be hubby were the first on the dance floor.
Don't have one scaned n JAc.
I did like the 80's fashions - my favorite eriod. (It did help that I worked for a very fashionable clothing company during that time - great discounts)
period
You must scan one soon, FM!
I will Jac I promise as they are such great pics of the times if nothing less!
31 to go here and I think it's time for a break. Got some tasks to do + mixing pancake batter for later before my dental appointment. Will look forward to seeing the pics FM. TTFN.x

be careful, kaplan!
At least I wasn't planning on working out of the house today, and my (youngest) daughter is visiting a friend out of state.
I guess I get the house to myself today!

LOL, it was me ursh that was looking forward to spring...I wish I could send some snow and cold your way
LOL, it was me ursh that was looking forward to spring...I wish I could send some snow and cold your way
human nature Ursh. the Aussies are saying the same thing.
And in August we will be too.
I think it is easier to get warm than it is to get cool
anyone have the 8?
You're right about that, Ursh.
not me..do you have the first 2 letters?
no
el8/40 sounds like what magicians are good at
ty Ursh
I agree Ursh. I always say you can put on alot of clothes to stay warm, but there is only so much you can take off to get cool.
thanks ursh great clue
so hot here pab that by the time you dry yourself after a cold shower you are hot again
If I had my choice I would rather have cold weather

but I will play babble for a while and let my sister enjoy her grandson
Oh Peri, such a cute age.
34 left, but the heat is turned on in the studio, paperwork awaits and the vaccuum is sitting looking expectant and reproachful, like my cats
oh, how sad. thanks to the snow, i wasnt even online (or therefore, on Babble) for my birthday. hope the party wasnt too rowdy. ;)
poor Kap
Belated Happy Birthday to you, Eva. You did get birthday greetings here on your birthday

it does Dorens
probably only recognizable in the automotive industry
but the word has other meanings as well
well that helped. i've made it more than half way... time to go clean up the kitchen and i'll be back.. lots of snow here, not conducive to going out and doing my errands
Not a girl thing normally.
Bye Dorens

Please don't Sea
bye for now Dorens

bye
I wish Dorens hadn't mentioned cleaning up the kitchen, that reminds me that I still have to do that as well. :(
me too
me three and lots of other chores
yes, Sea, me too. I have to dress the beds, not to mention myself (can't stay in my pj's all day) and dust.
would rather play babble though
like shoveling the driveway [grump]
oh Bichon, it is terrible isn't it.
our snow turned out to be a dusting, we got lucky!
that was luck, Sea. I think it used all its energy coming over Kentucky/Ohio
we've got 4-5 inches so far, but I think they'll be a bit more
we had 7 yesterday
everyone is thankful I think
nothing like the east coast has gotten. So far for the month we have had 21
we still have plenty from the last 2 storms
Well better go. duty calls. hagd all.

I have 57 left and don't want to go to the list until I'm down to 50
feeling sleepy, think I'll go back and see if I can get another 40 winks (or so)
I found af 7/36 word quite by accident too westford.

Hi LuvWordGames! How are you?Welcome to the grid

hi Minver, I'm good and you?
I was just thinking about the bridal party that danced their way down
need en 6/18 the 1 next to en6/18 = store in a si 4/4
I really liked that but I doubt I'll ever attend a wedding where they do that
I am having a stress test this noon and may not have caffeine for 24 hours ... it sounds odd, but I think it affects my game here.
Merk it is for the 67 mustang I owned

Good luck Babblers have fun. bye *poof*

Goodbye sixty7stang13! I'll see you tomorrow maybe.
good here red thanks for asking our snow has stopped temporarily
good news on the snow- what a winter!
I know
we've been luckier than most
and poor BC they really need it there
yes its odd how that worked out...
I suppose it's too late to move the Olympics to Washington DC
lolol not enough hills!
we can still cross-country ski down some of our streets
there are ski mountains less than 2h away from here, though
hi seain you must be ready for Spring
Hello dcseain! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
hiya seain.
quite rather ready.
hello :)
i'm watching my nephews this AM
I am babysitting my niece & nephew now too dcseain
nice auntie and uncle
hope you're having fun, minver.
i showed my elder nephew how to use the features on their new Wii
that Wii is amazing
maybe i'll finish today
hello all
it looks like fun, the wii...
i think you can do it, jasmine
but can be dangerous..our son and his family got one for Christmas and the mom was bowling and swung her arm back and hit the 3 year old in the nose
Wii is great fun :)
hi jasmine
go jasmine go!
now she looks behind her first
thanks dc and west. i haven't managed to finish a grid in a while
I'm not doing very well on this one
hello everybody, I only have a minute while dinner cooks and somebody is stomping around upstairs (not dogs). Saw a great movie this afternoon, Lovely Bones!
hi ruby I want to see that
amazing movie; I didn't expect it to be that good
I probably shouldn't admit it but I like movies with Marky Mark
did you read the book?
if I could go to a movie every day, I would
i heard it was very well done.
is marky mark Mark Wahlberg?
yes lol
I can't stop calling him that
really ruby? i am not a movie fan...
I think I read something else by that author, but if I did, it was a long time ago.
I was wondering if that was the same Mark. Did you see him in Boomtown?
I'm more of a movie addict than just a fan...
we do netflix
so hard to sit for that long...
at home you can pause it
so does my son in Texas; they don't have it here and we don't know how to use the VCR or whatever. I used to go every weekend with a girlfriend and sometimes we'd see two movies
yes, i sometimes watch on line...and pause it a lot.
I am happy to spend hours
ruby I remember when there would be 2 movies at a time
is your houseguest gone, redt?
she and I would go to a multi-plex and sneak into the second film! Naughty girls
for the moment he is. I am feeling much more like myself.
we get a few decent movies a week on French TV, but it's hard to find ones that aren't dubbed. My husband needs subtitles because he can't hear at a reasonable volume and his French isn't that great
I'm shoveling alone today. Hubby went to work. At least the snow is pretty light. Doing it in shifts
I don't envy you bichon
when I was a kid there were still shorts and a cartoon!
Especially when they guy who owns the snow blower in the neighborhood is working on the driveway next door.
maybe you're next?
slip him a 20!
oh yes ruby and you could stay and watch the features all day
OK I need to get dressed in other clothing and take the dog to the park, its the great backyard bird watch and we are participating!!!! (well, I am...)
Yes, if I cough up a few bucks. No, I'm tough, I can do it. I'm only 63 years young
OK tough bichon!! See you after dinner
that sounds so nice red
Besides, I need a bath for Biscuit to march to the street and do his thing
*path, but yest, he does need a bath
does he help with the shoveling?
of course west, I give him a specially adapted shovel made for paws
well then your work is half done lol
and a cookie afterwrd
one of our daughters lives in western MA and a few of her friends are raising their own sled dogs
He's on a special diet for kidney disease. I give him some raw veggies
they are so beautiful! blue-eyed dogs!
does he love the snow?
Do they sleep outside in the snow?
they do even the babies
Biscuit, no. He did when he was young. Now it's an inconvenience
I like being inside looking out
today it was like a picture powdered sugar on everything
It looks so pretty, but after shoveling for a while, I curse it.
we're getting the brunt of the storm later
back from more shovelling!!
Hello periwinkle! How are you? Welcome to the puzzle
I'm glad you're both taking breaks
I'm so tired. I stayed up til midnight watching Olympic figure skating
weren't they amazing?
I'm so glad with the results, but I really like the Germans too. Too bad they made a few mistakes
I agree I can't imagine the thousands of hours they put in
Yes, and pain of falling all the time
some of them leave their families as young children too
Yes, if you ever read bios of the Chinese pairs, it is grim what they have to endure to be successful. The winners, who are married, had to live in single room dorms.
I saw that but now they have their gold medal
Yes, they do and will reap reward way beyond what ordinary Chine can look forward to. But, they've been doing this forever, and it must get very wearying
I know they probably don't know what it is to just relax
we should get them on Babble
They'll probably earn quite a few bucks touring and lead a comfortable, normal, married life
I hope so
In a bio of them, she grew up in the freezing cold of Harbin China and spent hours skating on a frozen pond. She never complained.
you can tell it's a labor of love
they seem genuinely fond of each other too
I don't know about that. It's a way to be successul in China. They probably would be working in a factory, if they never had started skating.
weren't both of them hand picked to be figure skaters?
clue for the ke7???
hello monkey !!
my boyfriend + osm**** is how water travels through cellmembranes
hello westie!
starts with a game like bingo ends with opp of bro
I'm not suually here this time of day... home recuperating from dental surg
thanks for those great clues, dorens & westie
oh... sympathies monkey
I have been waiting and waiting to see you here I made your Thai Peanut Chicken and we love love love it
actually, he was west. He was taken from his family at a young age and put in a sports program. He did it the hard way.
*She did it the hard way, sorry
oh sorry monkey do you have pain meds and ice packs
oh wow, Westie, that's great!
glad u liked the peanut chicken
we are just learning about Thai food
you can always email me if you don't see me in the chog, it's lil_monkey56@yahoo.com
west, I looked at your icon. I feel the same way, but I put up with them in my compost pile
oh okay will do
i have other good & easy Thai recipes
i had very hot thai chicken curry last night... cleared out the sinuses, for sure.. and some yummy dumplings
bichon I know they are useful but I just can't handle it
bichon salivating wildly
dorens, that sounds great... although right now all i'm eating is yogurt or soup
do you make larb monkey? one of my favorites and again, so easy
I don't like this grid today. It's hard
agreed boo and hello
looking for other KN words (I have the eating utensil)
hi westford
never mind, just foung the other 2
there is an organic food place near my dentist's office that has great prepared foods, but ridiculously expensive. I treat myself to soup there after dental surgery.. a small solace, but delivious
gj monkey!!
dorens, i have not made larb na, but i love it. I think it would be easy... love those wide noodles
what westie?
It's time to hit the snow again. bbl
byeee bichon
also tom yum kung (the hot soup), chicken with basil, etc. I don't do much thai cooking these days, but used to
what what monkey? lol
bye bichon take it slow and easy
westie, you said "gj monkey" What does that mean
ma ho. ground pork with peanauts and ypical thai seasonings, on a slie of pineapple and cilantro leaf on top .. fancy and tasty appetizer
oh that you got the kn words
OMG dorens that sounds soooooo good
gotcha westie
don't know if my keyboard is stuck or i'm not typing well. my last entry made me laugh when i read it
one of the local Chinese restaurants is just now getting pad thai
Mmmmmmmmmmm Pad Thai !!!!
RI will eventually get the good stuff
dorens, do you like "Drunken Noodles" It's wide flat noodles, spicy ground pork, very very very spicy
you guys are making me hungry, and I left all the thai leftover's at ke*'* house last night
yes i do, but larb, cold beef salad (another easy one to make... millions of variations), chicken with basil are my favorites.. i'm not a big noodle eater
I'm taking notes
get a couple of good basic recipes - keep nam pla, lime, hot peppers, and fresh cilantro and the ingredients on hand, and play around, westford. you can make many of the recipes yourself if there are no good thai restaurants near you
also on that ingredient list: chopped peanuts, can of coconut milk
and garlic
thanks ladies this is a good start
yea, garlic and ginger too
can't really find galangal too easily
is that the lemongrass?
no, a straange ginger like thing that i've seen in chinatown sometimes. you can also buy thai green curry paste and rred curry paste in cans, and even good thai cooks use them
now I'm thinking I might go out later to my local Thai restaurant and get some soup
that should make you feel better
i hope so, my jaw is now a dull ache
i can't believe i paid someone a ton of $$$ to do this to me
are you done or will you have to go again?
i go back March 8 for the final crowns to be put on (have temps right now), then I go back in april for 2 more teeth
hello all! when you have crowns, will you be the monkey princess? *innocent mama look*
I am not really here, just packing up to head to school...
how's the grid though?
i would rather be a toothless monkey
the grid is .... interesting
all of this will be worth it monkey
and I have a spare tiara that you could have had
Help with OL clues please? I don't have any of them
hi stid who is not really here

hello everybody
hello hego!!!
hi crossy
howdy ruby
Crossy, great opening ceremonies. Learned some things about Canada.
Hello Ruby
Hi Ruby
hahahaha Crossy
I saw a fine movie this afternoon, Lovely Bones
hiya mel
No mention of bacon, though.
Our newspaper gave it one star- bad rating.
yes that cermony was great I loved the quotes
I read the book, it was great.
which newspaper?
it's a lovely film, great cast
glad you liked it hego..i may have to take a month and drive out there and see it myself sometime;)
I follow certain reviewers who tend to like the movies I do
I thought it was wonderful and very informative about canada, they really dont teach us much about Canada its cultures, and peoples
me too Crossy.
Mark Wahlberg (yes, Marky Mark), Rachel Weisz, Susan Sarandon, Michael Imperioli and Stanley Tucci
agreed mel.
lol ruby
Great cast is right.
I hate to go, but must.bbl
bye hego, see you tomorrow
when I was taking my degree foresty/enviromental studies, we did a week long field trip to canada (vancouver area) to study your forestry practices it was so beautiful we camped out.
im glad hego and lmeliae..it just gets too wierd sometimes with certain U.S visitors eg;"what coin is this with the beaver on it?" and we have to say"see that number 5? that means it is 5 cents, just look for numbers and you will be fine, and sorry we dont use gallons"
out west is amazing..i must go there
I live on the west coast of US and it is a lot like home here. A bit damper maybe but just as beautiful
we had one car from fla come up in july with a rack full of skis, looking for snow;)..i think i was a terrible dissapointment to him
and vancouver is such a wonderful city, the buildings are just amazing you walk around just looking at all the details on the buildings
i dont like the cities meliae, but i cant wait to roam around the mountains
hills out there make our ski hill look like a bump on a log
and the Butchart gardens are amazing
I wish I could remember the name of the place we camped
i want to head right out to the island, but in time for whale migrations
i want to find a nice perch at 10,000 feet and watch the world go by;)
i want to go into thier amazing forests and listen to the trees talk in the silence
well you will definately find that there, all of it
i want to ride the rivers and hear the water chuckling to the rocks as we pass by
well thats it have to plan something this summer now hehe
oh that sounds wondrful crossy, can i come too?
buggggggggger
I find such joy in the life of nature, I smile each day wqhen I see a new bulb or plant showing new growth after the winter.
hurshy, whats up?
lots of room FM:))
hello FM
Happy Fat Tuesday, all! Laissez le bon temps rouler!
is that word in the grid, hurshy?
Hi ruby and EvaN
i wanted to take a sick day today but if i did that, i wouldn't have any way to get to my chiropractic appointment after work, bc my husband would take the car and be in class until 5:20. so i came to work. but now it is snowing fairly heavily and i may not be able to drive safely to the appointment, but instead just sit around bored at my office for even longer... which would mean i ought to have just stayed home like i wanted to!
glad it is fat tuesday, cause im not getting any thinner;))
I feel the same way about my garden, FM, one more month and it will start to be beautiful!
lol, here we cannot plant till the end of may
life is a bummer sometimes hursh.
i am a bad driver, if anything goes slightly amiss i panic and react the wrong way, you see.
uh oh
i knew one woman like that, she would panic and take bother her hands off the steering wheel
i don't take my hands off the wheel
hi, guys...can anyone help me with the el7 and el8?
that is good
but i can never remember in the moment whether i should brake or not, which way i should steer, that sort of thing.
:((
sorry, i don't have any long ones yet
it sounds like you really shouldn't ever drive, hurshy!
Oh have a friend that had to rescue a women in her car with kids and dogs as she freaked out and could not cope with driving through the village.
some of the road you have over there would send me into a panic fm:)
i'm fine as long as i focus and am slow and careful and don't hit any icy patches.
one tyrip through the mountains here would drive you crazy, hurshy!
Glad to say I love driving and love my car.
i don't mean i can't remember to brake in GENERAL, just if i get skidding or something.
on some of the roads, I just get down on the floor and don't look while my husband drives
foot off gas, and steer where you want to go
Hi all.
yes, see, when i'm NOT skidding, i know that, crossy, but when i AM, it flies out of my head.
howdy sally
Actually, I prefer driving alone in the car so I can play my music, LOUD!
sally! hello, I tried to chat online with you
Whilst we are on the topic of cars, mine is an MR2, and I have had her for 12 years now.
did you have a fender bender hurshy or a close call today?
Hi Sally
Yes, rubyfoo, I just said hallo back. Was doing something else and suddenly noticed FB flashing at me!
no, i'm just saying i may not go to my chiro appointment in order to make sure i don't have one.
ahah
We bought a new car today :-)
what kind?
ohh I vaguely remember the smell of a new car
Salesman asked if I would like him to run through the controls, I said no, turned out of the garage and into hail and a blizzard! Aaaah!! Where are the wipers? The lights?!!
el7 is when you run two words together because they have like, ending with a vowel and starting with a vowel. like in french, you have le chat but l'arbre.
When I was working and traveling all over the place, I used to love getting a rental and driving in new places!
fm,you can get a air freshener spray now that smells like mew car smell;))
It's a brand new Clio ruby
bless you, hurshy!
great clue, hurshy, thank you
really crossy? although I am not surprised.
a French car, non?
we have 2 little German ones, neither of which I like
Certainement. My last one was a Megane (can't do accents in the chog).
we had a beautiful one but my husband wrecked it (and me) two years ago
I've been a Toyota drive for so long now that I don't know where I would go when lulabell goes.
crossy looks on at all theese exotic euro names for cars in bafflement
enolin
except fm,s toyota..drive one myself;)
those are both very popular here
... and yes Iulabel is the name I gave the car *hangs head in shame*
oops
Youw ill like this story ruby:-) Husband insisted last year we bought a friend's two-year old Peugeot. I was not keen, and at the time he could not drive. About four weeks ago he was allowed to drive again, and after ten days suggested we sell the Peugeot!! Men!!!
naughty lawyer and it wasn't even a word!!
ruby, would u prefer I give a word instead?
it must be some kind of man thing!
peugeot? is that the one where its rear end hangs inches from the ground?
yes yes, lawyer
then I'll join you in the PB with cookies
there are so many olympic athletes who have changed their citizenship for one reason or another. the japanese woman who became russian to do pairs skating, etc. there was one story about someone becoming an american citizen and i was like, "they became an american on purpose?!" and my husband, appalled at my lack of patriotism, said that lots of people become americans all the time and i said, but if you're setting out to choose a new country, why not choose one with health care?
what word would u like?
any 7 besides the el that hurshy gave
ca7?
lol hurshy. I know a lot of people who have changed citizenship (husband's cousin now American) but although I love travelling I would hate to give up my country.
lol hurshy, when my family goes to the states i get top end blue cross travel health plan, even if just for a week
ca7
ca7 plural of ca6 - think las vegas
Go to Monte Carlo and have a gamble for the ca 6 and 7
my husband would like the olympics if they were still amateur athletes and had to compete naked and not in spandex! lol
nice, FM, hiding in plain sight!
no, dc, i am trying to find out what 7 ruby would like help with
my m-i-l got ill down south and it cost her $37,000.00
They would bounce around a bit though ruby.
ouch!
but when they competed naked it was only men... if your husband would like that, you may have a major problem.
a he7 crime, like murder
raofl
ou7 - past participle of ou6
ouch a neeked male pole vaulter..if he knocks it off with his whistle is it a fault?? lol
the mind boggles!
Laughing so much I can't type the words in.
though watching the ladies on the pommel horse would be interesting
what a group, take my husband, please!!!!
naughty crossy!
again the mind boggles :)
The shot-putters would have to be a bit careful too.
he also thinks that sportscasters need to have played the sport to talk about it -- which rules out most female commentators and non-athletes
terrible, unadmitted mysogynist
i tend to agree ruby,it is nice if they themselves have been there and done it
Oh stop I cant type for laughing too
gonna make fm pee herself!!!!!!
yes, but I know more about baseball than he does, for instand, and I've never played
the ladies don't do the pommel horse. they have uneven bars, vault, floor, and beam. the men have parallel bars, pommel horse, rings, floor, high bar, and vault.
and I could write about the Tour de France and haven't been on a bicycle in years!
ROFL crossy, you devil.
I think the business of changing nationalities is a hoot but if only real Frenchman were on the national teams, they would never get beyond jr high school competitions!
ok then hursy the uneven bars..better use lots of chalk hehe
Ruby's flag reminded me - does anyone recognise a flag identical to the French flag but with a single yellow star in the upper left corner?
hmmmm
That K and N next to each other are useful.
maybe a former colony?
helen, is your profile photo a slow loris or a lemur?
Saw it on a car this morning - very nice new flag - not likely to be a former colony that has since changed its flag. Wiki has an array of flags of sovreign nations, not there.
it's very cute but probably has sharp little pointy teeth
It is the happiest sloth in the world.

OK, never mind. Just askin
Or subcilious ..
exactly!
OK, back to work. bye!
Laters ..
Happy Mardi Gras all
Laisez les bontemps roullez ..
My spelling en Francaise es merde ..

Cajun's don't care if ya spell it correct....it's the party and the thought that counts! "Throw me sumthin' mista!"

Ha! Before that!
We just wound it up a notch post super bowl
I only have the first 2 el's- is there a common root to all the rest? What should I be looking for?
LOL! That first notch was after the Championship, according to the fireworks litter in my back yard.
Hi fellow babblers
i was so psyched for NO to win the super bowl, you woulda thought i was a native!
You shoulda seen some of the emails making the rounds about that down here! Lawdy!

Every now and then I go back there and I mention it in the chat
wi6 people who drink too much and end up in the gutter
I thought that only had 5 letters
Oh, it works with an extra vowel, does it?
extra vowel for 6
Cool. I'll try to remember next time I see a wi** that it might not be his fault. He might have an extra vowel.
:-D
Sometimes you can't help those predetermined defects
Oh, here I go again.
lol
the first ho5 and the ho6?
don't have those yet Kap. will look
I'm down to the miserable ones. Funny how the last ones are the most miserable- it just works out that way I guess.
first ho5 is same as one after. replace last letter with vowel
ty.

Sketchy word, that

ou6= not in + to view

Thanks
fi6 adds a vowel to the fi5 above
fi6 and the second en6. But if you start cluing me on the ones I already have, I might freak out again- I can't always control myself (it's because I was born with an extra vowel)
jellen- you seem to have everything. Are you done?
the ca's anyone?
No, I have 69 left...

Don't have the ca's, but will look...

Now there are three en6/18 total. The one I need is the SECOND one.

Ugh! tough job
does not sound like fun
You ain't kidding- I could only do it because she is out of town with a friend for the long weekend
I wanted to be done by 4 and just made it.
lol that's the time to do it then
Heroic, Kaplan!
I don't know how she accumulates so many articles of clothing. DO they spontaneously generate, or something?
they grow in there.
And is there some relation to why our bank account is always near empty?
could be
i remember those times...daughter is now 24 and cleans her own house, come to think of it she is not nearly as sloppy as when she lived here, why is that?
How does one kid have so many shirts?
somebody's buying them. hmmm...
My 20 year old is now very neat- when she is not at home. Also cooks. Thinks I'm a lousy housekeeper (true.)
my daughter had 24 in the wash one time, will never forget that
They will likely have kids someday. Payback!
Because you're not there to do it Sea
Bingo!
Afternoon all! How goes it in the frozen north?
right. Mine do. fun to watch.
we were spared yesterday red, snow fizzled out, thank goodness
I know, there's this whole mountain of t-shirts that all look pretty musch the same, and she will go tearing through the house looking for the one missing one that I of course must have done something with
Well, I am chilly here. but there is indeed no snow.
See you tomorrow gang g'nite.
my husband's father is paying him back now, he is 86 and is driving everyone nuts lol

Boring afternoon stidmama?
hello mother! LUNCH! but since I ate in class, I am babbling for a few minutes
how goes things across the water today?
My in -laws used to live there.
I babble withor without lunch. Had soup. Very good. Got better over the several days of warming.
It has really grown.
the oxtail soup? that smelled really good last week. or was that the week before?
I'm watching last nights pairs competition. to me that has got to be hard, I mean, what if your partner messes up and you have a perfect skate???
They had a lovely new home, but no trees or anything, just bare ground.
cute gator pic, red. I approve on the cuteness factor alone! *approving mama look*
hmmm, there are trees now.
well, it isnt scary.
That happened the first night, the girl landed wrong and ruined their score.
I just can not imagine how the partner must feel...
I think if one skates at that level, red, one knows that "it happens" to everyone, even during important competitions.
true, but I guess If I were a pair I'd feel better if both of u were involved in the error....you know.
wow. down to 96. can I hit halfway before my classmates arrive?
Last night she was perfect and they were so happy.
you can do it yes you can Stid!!!
Is that the pair that trains in Tampa?
You can do it if anyone can. I have 100 left and not in competition. No triple toe loops for me.
wow. and I did! you are clairvoyant, red! LOL
I dunno. She is only 16.
I just want to get enough along that I can finish tonight when I am done studying.
I have missed a lot of this olympics. I hope to see a lot more this weekend, as I dont have to work..
it's alternately sunny and cloudy today -- a perfect spring day. If only it weren't winter...

hi merk
Good by Luv have a good evening.
Hi Joanne. It seems easier now that I'm back with a shot of caffeine in me.
Grids get easier for me the farther I get into them.
sometimes that's what it takes
hi babblers - second round for me - need 51 more
Don't you love the final ou 6,21 ... is it a contest to see who can be the worst?
hi jbv
reading back, so sorry to hear that news about your mom, Joanne - best wishes to her for a good outcome
My second or third go at it, too. I think I have a bit less than 20 to go.
hi, Merk - are you in China? Happy New Year!
No, I got back last week ... to wind and snow ... surprise, surprise. It was a great five weeks there though.
where you do you go? what city I mean?
Usually Harbin ... snow capital, home of the Chinese pair skaters.
oh, they were great!
And marvelous ice and snow sculptures ... breathtaking actually.
I saw pictures of them recently - can't remember where -
hey all....back again, 52 left here.
hi red
There have been some on the internet mislabeled as from Fairbanks, Alaska ... then you see all of these Chinese spectators ... uh, hello!
... and Fireworks@
congratulations merk!
Thank you. And see all you fine folks tomorrow.
byeee merk and congrats
Finished, too.

Does anyone know of a boggle-type game on the web that you can choose a grid of 16 tiles or 20 tiles and it's timed like 3 minutes or something like that/
I played it last year and can't find it back.
sheesh i can't remember the site mudd
Thanx joanne
mudd was it online??
sounds like Wordsplay, Mudd
with other peops
www.wordsplay.net
you can play boggle at yahoogames.com
OK, thanx, that sounds familiar. It will be good to try it again.
Yes, it's online. I'd love to be on a team sometime.
See you tomorrow I hope.
tata

JBV how are you and Hubby going along?
hi red - well, more or less the same - we are actually planning a vacation soon - first time in about 3 years, but it will be a challenge - he still needs daily wound care

cyber it is defined as line on a weather map connecting points that receive equal amounts of sunshine. a little hard to clue.
thanks, red
mmm -- we have isobars...
same beginning, end with prefix for sun - ***iocentric
is6/18 is is + anagram of what a shovel digs cybernan
not finding it -- off to watch curling -- bbl
Goodbye cybernan! I will see you tomorrow in the log
*!* ta da *!* -- ty for the help -- was going for the wrong sun prefix until I looked at the points!
no 6/18 please
hey all, how many "kn" words are there?
3- kn
kn 5 / 5 / 6
hmmmm...i am missing one "k" word
i have 4 ke words and 3 kn words
COngrats CYber Nan, happy borthday Jen,
you are missing 1 ke
aw thanks redturtlehead, thanks jmitch
I hate O words! Hate 'em w/ a burning passion
I am not liking the U word, whatever it is....
anyone have the no 6/18?
sorry jeff, I have it not.
red: abbreviation of a military academy w/ an extra vowel near the end
TY Jmitch, I now bear no ill will to the U word!
y/w....
just going to clue while my brain cools off - O words had me in a lather
jeff7: no + vowel + female sibling
need one or 2 ideas for a good read for the mrs.im not up to speed on the latest female authors:(
what does the mrs like to read?
I can recommend some very good murder myseterys, written by a Spanish woman, but if she likes romance, well...
well, she likes danielle steel,v.c andrews, and enjoyed the harry potter series, and was so so with twilight series
ty jm
no red,murder mysteries please
I liked harry potter, but had no use for the rest.
she loves true crime etc
Oh she would like this then.
max haines etc
Alicia Giminez-Bartlett A book called Death Rites, and one called dog day, and there is a third.
ill look her up ty red
It's set in Spain, so a bit different. I loved them.
YW. I have more...LOL
ill take annother please
do they have to be womens authors?
I mean female?
nope just a good read
myself i like clive cussler and history books and sci fi with a touch of fantasy
I like Robert Crais. He has a new mystery out.
Matt Beynon Rees writes murder mysteries set in the West Bank, the protagnoist is a School teacher...takes place in Bethlehem and Nablus.
I seem to be reading a lot of murder....
I also read a very nice book....hold on I need to look it up...
i guess im just looking for a good read..from a womans perspective
that's a very (ahem) broad category, crossy
I just finished a nice read, from a variety of perspectives, but the title is eluding me...
with me its easy,i could read off 1000 titles i want to read, but it is harder with the ladies
what women consider a good read depends so much on their interest and background
indeed jbv..i can christmas shope easy with her,but buying her a book she likes is almost impossible
it's hard to buy a book for someone else - gift certificate to the bookstore is my recommendation
Has she read any Sara Paretsky mysteries? It has a female detective.
either that or she has to get better at dropping big hints....
lol, well thank you,you have given a a direction at least
he7 ? help please?
My Dad actually gets my books for Xmas and birthday- we goes with the recommendations of the book shop man at the independent bookshop, never failed me yet!
he 7/36: murder is a he***** crime mixi6

li 5 - a cotton thread
is there only one fe word?
ahhhh
thanks!

COngats JBV!
think las vegas, red
Oh tyvm! fish me...
one large mackerel, coming up....
hi and here and there -- watching the men's skating with 22 to go
ok, really going now (poof!)
hi jilli!
Hi jilli. I just got here and am watching the men at the same time too
i can not decide if i want skating or ncis....
Can I admit that Johnn wier irritates me.
what a story about that little guy from France who was so wonderful!
where we are, we can have it all red!
the skating is a one-off
well, ncus is on at 8, as is skating....
only saw the one who just finished
oh -- what a shame -- he was born in Brazil and abandoned on the street -- a French couple adopted him. He danced to perfection to the music from Munich with such poignancy too.
I don't know if there is a word for your fear jilli, but I found one that is pretty weird -- fear of teenagers, and it has a name
Maybe I shall be lucky, if they were smart they should have the NCIS be a rerun,,,,
exactly, red.
bugs, your teen phobia is quite understandable!
Here comes Yevtushenko -- bfn!
Red, I just checked. NCIS is called Good Cop Bad Cop and does not say it is new. Do you remember one that might fit that name? It could be a rerun for you.
oh, it's just the warm-up -- he's not on yet but Chipeur is...
I meant Plushenko, duh, not the poet
Yevtushenko was one of my favourite poets. I still tell kids, "Be equal to your talent, not your age."
Bugs I think it is a rerun....Yaaay....I remember it a little...
Hurray for red. You can have it all too
back to olympics! but does Johnny Wier irritate anyone else? or am I just out there.
he was never one of my favourites red. what irritates you?
I think its the air of drama he tries to create, that and the fact that he wore real fox fur...
and he comes off as a whiney pansie.
many of them are pansies which doesn't bother me, but whiney - you bet that is annoying.
the French Skater just went here, and he did a really nice job.
The pansy part does not bother me...its the whiney part...
I loved the way Toller Cranston skated but he whines too
Hello my babble friends!
either they are not showing it on NBC, after all hes not American (ugh) but I will look for him...
Hi MPitt!
HI MPitt
Mpitt, I adore your icon.
sorry red, Toller is WAY old
going to get a new icon...brb oh and I to think John Weir should have a "d" added to his last name!!!
meant "too"
OK I feel better. I feel a b it uncharitable, as I really think people shoudl jsut be who they are, but he is sort of trying too hard ot be who he is...
ahhh, not tonight then!
ty red...I've had it for a while but I didn't play for a week or so...nasty sinus thing...but I'm here now
4 words to go.....and every one of them is O
Go JMitch you can do it!
*sob*
oh oh
do you have the competiton where you try to "not in , and behave very badly word?
Hope you are feeling better Mpitt.
I'm watching the sakting on a Canadian channel called Rogers Sportsnet
Jilli, is the skating live actually? Are we both watching the Austrian skater?
yes, it's live, red
yep. I just stumbled onto two of them.
Oh nice! I am finding I really enjoy the mens skating this year.
but this guy is from Poland -- he just finished his bit.
I am seeing a Polish fellow
Oh, we are not watching it in the same time then...you know the NBC always sort of changes stuff around. We are watching an austrian in black, or brown...
now comes a Finn
Now we are having an indepth interview with Pluschenko.
it is interesting bt I would like to see the skating.
NBC here is showing local news
They will show the Olympics on a same-day tape at 8 pm PST -- it's now 5:20 PST here
now the Canadian, Vaughan Chipeur
The Finn didn't do very well.
darn, he fell on the triple axel
Overall he did well but you can tell he was excited
Plushenko is next
showing Plushenko now...
well -- I guess WE'RE on a tape delay!
he is just getting going.
Plushenko is what NBC is televising in EST as well
his costume is so glittery.
... does a triple sowcow for all the spectators...
he does seem a bit rough...
Oh ruru, your costume has such lovely sequins and floaty bits of cloth!
is it black?
or purple?
has a hint of pink
but covered in puppy hair
wonders if PETA wil object to puppy hair.
Well, the Olympic rings in the harbour are golden again for the women's snowboard cross :-)
...cobalt blue actually with coppery highlights....
what is the icon theme today jilli?
and puppy hair
theme is phobias or fears ruru
'evening, folks
...looks down and notes that bottom of costume has been shredded by puppy teeth...
yecchh, some guy in a commercial is talking about "athaletes"
Hi welki. What is with the beans?
beans?
hi welki
i just got rid of the lima beans .. my phobia
bet he has arthuritis too jill
I am with you welki.. lima beans scare the crap outta me
you betcha, ruru
all gushy and bland and tasteless.. yuck
I love those little baby lima beans with butter on them
(awful color and texture)
nice spring green
sort of monkey-snot green
lol
well, if you're an expert in monkey-snot what can I say?
I have met a few snotty monkeys in my day
did anyone have the answer to your phobia and what it is called jilli?
no such luck, ruru!
I have never heard of it before..
I hadn't either -- wonder if anyone but the victim has
well, Alligators are not my phobia....but I saw them today.
effing alligators, red?
hmmm you walking close to the edge of the wat3er red?
here's a link: http://tiny.cc/phobias
(the future hand-bags get even)
I took the photo in my icon ruru...
really .. that is really a cool shot red.
mom toting a kid?
I have another as well, with three all hanging out together...it was so cold today.
Maybe though I do not think they are very mothering...
it was today!
cold?
ooops.. I have to run.. I forgot to get something before Westminster.
I am still trying to figure out what that pic has to do with a ba 6 word. Any hints red?
bbl bye for now.
kn 5/20 please
no idea Jeff. sorry
just monkeyed it ... kn + not in
good one. bugs, left over fri icon clue for a ba 6
ty....always some weird ones here!
anyone have the sn 5 that is not a pigs nos**?
I got that but mate, breed, rude, ugly..... none of them are ba 6 words!
yes, red -- you do it when you have a cold
not yet red
maybe what a pig's nose might do? what i might do to a beautiful rose .. and what my nose will do after i do
they are not having sex, I swear it, and they are not ugly, they are actually rather cute...
thanks jilli!
TY Jilli!
May I please have a clue for si6-21? Thanks
bugs, I had a different icon that day it was a badger, as I recall...
you'll find si6 in a little packet in electronics .. to keep things dry. also a component of sand
Thanks so much, welki.
that makes so much more sense red. thanks for ending my wayward thots so I can find words in the grid again!
* * firewords * *
wtg jilli :)
HURRAY jilli. well done
thanks for the clues in the chat ;)
now I can supply some for a bit but I do need to get some supper
the first kn word escapes me
i don't know if this is the first kn, but it's something you use every day, probably have all kinds of them ... paring, chef's, steak, bread, filet
fish me welki. I convinced myself that word was not there!
Evening all! Can I have a clue for the 1st en 6/18 pls?
perch or halibut?
should be something big like a tuna
no idea phand
i wish i could walk half as well as these kids skate
(i don't have it either)
Oh that "Plushenko baby brother" is quite something! And much prettier than Plu
ha! to store grain maybe?
US tv has moved on to snowboarding.
May I please have a clue for eo5-10? Thanks
I like this guy better too. His performance was not so jerky
I agree, bugs!
very pretty ... he sure can flip his hair :) but he engaged the audience, i think the judges like that
eo + bad things we do!
thanks, red
en6/18 - en + small land surrounded by water
enisle
thanks for the clues
thnx, Jilli
thanks for that Jilli!
Thanks, phandmd and jilli.
peach's clue was better, lol!
Crap!!! Don't know what happened there.\
phooey. hockey, curling, figure skating. would like to see the snowboarding.
don't get the eo5/10 clue
the Canadian girl was way ahead the whole time welki! No doubt she earned that gold~!
lindsay Jacobellis, and 3 others are going now, french and a canadian and someone else...
eo + (choose one: sloth, envy, greed, etc. .. there are seven of the deadly kind)
ty welki...familiar with those lol
an austrian
welki, try another channel -- there are 3 showing Olympics, here, anyway -- CTV, TSN, Sportsnet
Finally....fireworks. Thanks for all the help.
YAY peach!!!
Oh Wow! what beautiful shots of the mountains in BC!!!
congrats Peach!
Must go and get supper now -- back asap
we are so fortunate to have views like that every day, red.
red, have you ever been out this way?
I have been very close. I lived in Oregon for 2 years, did a lot of hiking on the Pacific Crest Trail, but did not get all the wa up in BC, just close to the border.
you will have lots of free places to stay if you ever get this far north red
i live in alberta and the views of the rockies here are spectacular ... BUT ... i have never felt as i did while sitting in the middle of kootenay lake, surrounded by the mountains of the same name. it was as if i was sitting in a postcard
oh no, I would never want to be a houseguest!
i've been to klamath and chiloquin, oregon
not after last week.
I lived in Corvallis. nearish to Eugene.
(but that was many, many years ago)
I think you would be a GOOD houseguest after last week
oh heck, the best houseguests are those who've had rotten houseguests!
Oregon has many beautiful areas too, especially the coastline
yes, I usually just hide and try to drink water from the tap...
oh .. guess what i did. i fell on new year's eve and sprained my ankle (common for me). six weeks later and it still hurts, so i went to the doc, had x-rays and get a load of this...
my ligament was pulled in such a way, and with such force, that it actually pulled a shard of bone from my ankle!
you broke it???
Oh no, how will this get fixed?
technically, yes
and you have been walking on it for 6 weeks?!
it's not a big piece of bone. i'm fortunate that my podiatrist's specialty is foot reconstruction .. he wants to immobilize it for a couple of weeks to see what happens. he's not too concerned that the piece of bone will "float," since it's still attached to the ligament
does not sound like fun Welki, but you can still fish right?
hehehe. technically, no. and not drive either. but i finagled him into 'allowing' me to drive to and from work without the walking cast (which needs to be refitted tomorrow ... i TOLD the tech it was too big, but she pooh poohed me),
(and we won't tell him about the fishing)
gotta tell you, though ... it felt great to have something be TOO BIG for a change! LOL
LOLOL, I hope it gets to feeling a lot better soon....
he's a good guy ... noticed a cyst in my fibula and some calcification around my heel (along with 3 more heel spurs) .. i've told my m.d. about my family's rheumatoid history, but this podiatrist wrote up an order for labs
ahhh I can not stay awake for anything anymore. goodnight dear babblers.
will see you tomorro!
g'night dear red ... sweet dreams
Nite red. sleep well
bugs, where in b.c. are you?
Hi all. How are things in Babbleland?
hello babble kittens!
hello, wht, pippin
hi welki
that's kind of how i broke my ankle was ripping the ligaments on one side and the other side pulled the bone so hard it snapped
Sounds like a bad day for Babblefeet.
so... i have a date! i asked the climbing fella last night and today i got a yes, his work schedule permitting so yay for me!
yes, but you really did a number on yours .. heavy metal inside. i'm hoping to avoid that
yay, pippin! i hope you have a great time :)
oh my break was like 4 years ago, i'm well healed - even running and biking and rock climbing and have hung by it upside down on a trapeze!
hanging upside down ... i only do that by accident.
hey, aren't you moving to nyc?
Does anyone have a clue for the middle en6,18?
don't think so, wht
My monkeys are tired after shovelling the driveway.
en6/18 = en + vowel + not your bro.
en6 ends like ke7
hi jac, une
ty jac.
in fact . . . it's ke7 without the k
hey, welki :-)
y/w, wht.
thanks Une that was my last K - evening all!
Hello all.
hello, dan
hey, dan :-)
If you alter my greeting slightly you will find 4 he words if you 'plural' the 2 you find.
need some clues for the E above that, Jac
en5/10, dan? Anagram of 'no' word for plural Christmas.
Or plural actor Mr. Coward's first name.
Actor from long ago!
yep also got el7/8 and el5/6 from your clue!
el7 is something left out and the 8 is a plural.
the en4 the word you seek is plural or maybe verb form of is a chemistry word really.
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How's everyone
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers!YAY!
A clue for the he7 please.
Hi Min.
Hi Minver. I'm chipper thanks. And you?
murder is a most he***** crime
'evening, min!
he7 refers to an abominable or hateful crime.
he 7/36: murder is a he***** crime wht
And that is a he7'ly twisted word in the grid.
I'm done! I have fireworks! My last word was en 6/18
wtg Min
hooray min! good for you!
YAY Minveryork!!!
congrats, minver!
Well done Min and Hello Jilli.
hi there peeps. is there a clue for the lone U word? it is driving me to distraction
us 5/12 is us plus sleep problem sleep ap*** aknitter.
fireworks, too!
Congratulations welki on fireworks! Hooray for you!
Hi ak. Haven't se4 you for ages! The 'u' word is 'not them but **' + first 3 letters of 'not far'.
Well done, welki.
oh ty min. that has been haunting me all day
oh ty min. that has been haunting me all day
thanks!
yw
hi jac yes long time no see
how are ya
I'm fine thanks, ak. Must click on your website. BBS.
Ah, fake website. :-((
i have a website? where
In your profile, but it's not real.:-( marciaknits at com cast dot net.
oh no.... that is my email addy. sorry to have sent you on a wild goose chase
I thought I was going to see examples of all the stuff you've knitted for Mr. Clooney.
LOL
EEK! I didn't mean to broadcast your e-mail. Sorry. I still wish this chatlog had delete and edit buttons.
no one is here but me
just got to halfway
no worries. i will just forward all my unsolicited email to you!
DR - do you have your hands over your eyes so you can't see us? We can still see you. LOL
that is weird
yes DR you are all alone we are not here
ak - don't you bl**dy dare! I get enough unasked for invitations to buy Viagra every day as it is.
hey! who ya callin weird?
story of my li4
tee hee hee
So can someone who isn't here help me with my last two ho words. The first ho 5,12 and the ho6,21?
Surely anyone who has played Babble and then come back for the chog for the past 5 years is weird?
I am proud to be weird
nope not weird
perfect is boring
First ho5.12 (says a voice from the ether) is to lift up a heavy weight like a crane might do.
It means the same as the he5/12 below it.
Ty jac. I have learned something today.
ho6.21 might be the li4 the cops have of the prostitutes in the area.
time for best in show at westminster. BBL to complete the grid. thanks for the company
bye AK
ho6 really means something like this: 'Psychology. any psychologic system postulating that the human mind must be studied as a unit rather than as a sum of its individual parts.'
See you again soon, I hope, AK.x
Or in other words, 'whole body approach'.
ty jac. Finally got that. Fireworks
Now, take the 'ic' off the end of the word you are trying to spell and you will have it.
Well done, wht.
hello all!
Hi TO.
is there more than one kn word?
Hi TO.
There are 3 of them
3, TO.
hi jacs. ty whit, i only have the cutting implement so far
heist
The other is a Russion whip.
Don't go stealing things TO.
The other 2 kn words describe a whip with multi leather thongs at the end, once used in Russia for flogginh 'criminals'. Sounds like slang word for 'nothing' (UK slang word..)
si6 please?
The other kn5 also sounds a bit like a tangled up rope.

I will be a good babble ho 4/5 and provide you with a story of clues. Since it was a V-Day a few days ago,I will tell you about li4/7 with my husband. We both fell head over he5/12 eachother when we met in 1993. I thought that he was the hottest guy that I had ever se4/4.He had some cheesy pick-up li 4/4 for me. But we have been together ever since. We walked down the ai 5/10 & became man and wi 4/11 in Oct. 2005. The wedding was fi 4/7 with no mishaps. But then we could not decide where to go for our honeymoon. He wanted a honeymoon in Vegas where the ca7/32 are but I decl5/12ed that idea.An argument en 5/12 and we were cl 5/12 to not having a honeymoon.Thought he might even fi4/7 for a divorce over it. So we had honeymoon in Mystic,CT.We bought our first ho5/14 in March 2007.The rest is history.I hope to never be alo4/4 again. Even though he can be a lo 5/12 and a w4/8 ass sometimes and I have wanted to ou4/5 him right out to the curb,I would hate to ever lo4/4 him. I would be lo 4/4 without him. I hope you are able to fi 4/7 away some of these clues. Now I am off to bed.

...some day when you're feeling irreplacible, sometime when your egos in bloom...try this little exercise and see how you'll be missed..take a bucket and fill it with water...put your arm in up to your wrist...pull it out and the hole that's remaining..is just exactly how much you'll be missed....you can splash all you want when you enter..you can make a marvelous twist...but you'll find that when you remove your arm...it will be quite like it was before you entered the room...
* sigh of relief * pip, not sure how much I could take on the first date (I mean, remember, living vicariously thru ya)
