grem, you are amazing
I can afford the other wines.. getting Romanee Conti is akin to seeing a gorilla in the jungle
DH, Lickety updates when he has time, IF he has time. He does this out of the kindless of his heart.
out of the kindling of his perpetually warm heart
I would guess that ru
it is released @ $13,500 per bottle but you have to be a movie star to get some
*kindness , gaaa
kr5
I didn't know kr5 was even a word
there are two other words that start with the same first 4 letters, that I know of
I don't know ruru -- most red wines have such an overpowering odor of dirty gym socks that I can't taste anything else
thanks grem
those are flawed red wines nan...that is a spoilage issue
i prefer a pinot socko, myself
it is called brettanomyces
I haven't found one yet that doesn't smell that way to me --- they can't all be spoiled!
118 left *yawn* night everyone. *poof*
Just got a fu4, fu5, fu6 combo
nan, wasn't it you who found all the wines in germany odoriferous?
one of the reasons I prefer white wine
there's another 6 in that fu combo
ty dh
there are 2 more fu 5/18's that go with it too
No jill some of them had a wonderful nose, but much to my disappointment they all tasted like battery acid
or...I'm thinking of another 4/5/6 combo
there is nothing wrong with drinking what you like and like the taste of nan.. not for anyone.
oh yes, that was it, nan
phant uphroe/euphroe
i am stalled at 42 found how are you doing jill?
I just don't like wine that is so dry, lemons are sweet in comparison
cyber i dont like wine either
dry and spicy is what i yearn for in a red, to each their own
I like dry wines, except for icewine (eiswein)

I love wine, mlf -- usually go through a dozen cases per year -- just like a few specific ones

rum and coke are too sweet for me, but then I find all that pop (as we call it here) or soda (as in the US) much too sweet
well there is rum and there is rum -- Appleton Estate 12 yr. is my favourite
Zayante is my fave rum

are you seeing my new clue, flosey?
can I ask a newbie question? or two?
sure, barb
when someone talks about putting up their list...can others see it? and where does one go to do so?
yes, jilli, he is too
hi all
do you mean such as gremlin putting up a list in his profile, barb?
hi diem
hi diem
hello diem
i thought cybernan said something the other day about putting up their list or posting it?
or when vash or someone lists words starting with a certain letter?
maybe that was it...
Any lists put up by babblers can be seen in the chat or in their profiles, barb.
ain't no secrets around here, lol!
but Barb, do you have Lickety's list?
i just wasn't clueing in how to see them ...thanks for filling me in
there is a spot at the bottom to click on I believe
lickety's babble clues..I have used that before
yes, they are very helpful, but you can also ask Lickety for the newer version
in Friends of Babble -- right-click on Licketyu's Babble Clues to open in another window -- shrink it sideways and put it at the left of the grid.
okay thanks
I thought I gave you that info, Barb, and told you about BabbleExpert?
You may have but my brain is a sieve these days...I appreciate you telling me again. I just set a request to "god" and asked to be added to the friends of babble
barb, you don't need to do that. You need to email Lickety and ask for Babble Expert (it's free)
some of the problem is the meds I take for my Fibromyalgia really fog my brain...they actually call it fibro fog
well, email Lickety NOW, before you forget, lol!
I get that fog from Ty3
so bare with me please...email Lickety through lickety's clues?
that way you get the list and everything on one page

Serriously getting irritated here.
hi ruby
sorry gang, I was distracted by a conversation on MSN
he must be taking irritation lessons from you-know-who
hi jilli
Well he has decided that he needs to listen to his itunes without earphones. INstead of asking me for mine
is the house large enough to get out of earshot?
no
I would ahve to kick him out to the other room. I may just say sod it and have dinner and go bed
what kind of irritating music is he listening to?
or go and sit on his lap and listen with him?
Just random stuff. I swear to gods I am just about to turn teh tv off and storm out.
I guess I am madam cranky pants
Far be it from me to agree, lol!
the first 50 words are always a pleasure!
you are usually very reasonable, you must have a good reason for feeling cranky! You always help me, that's for sure
Brillaint I just fired off a snarky email to idiot parents on 7pm show
good way to vent!
There is these idiot parents complaining about Lady Gaga's concert this was my 2 cents 'Parents complaining about Lady Gaga Concert. We the people are not there to parent your children. That is right they are YOUR kids not mine. There is a warning on the CD. Do we want to hold your kids hands too. Seriously. Parents do your job. ''
Good for you. LOL
That'll tell 'em!
Damn straight. I am tired of having video games banded because a parent can't so NO.
I was 18 before I went to my first concert. Be pretty daft if you let a 10 year old at any concert that is not err the wiggles
I have to go to bed -- night all!

You're welcome - hello diem.
that is a serious not word
78 points, why quibble?
Well I never thought that it would be a joint word
I know, but enable does for some reason. Shortage of hyphens?
Maybe enable has a fear of hyphens
Let's see if there's a phobia involving hyphens.
I seriously need a personal assistant
That's it for now - things to do -places to go have a good day/night all - Speak soon Diem
Bye, mari.

Bye Mari
Sleep well, diem.
Good morning Haz!
Good morning, FM. Blue skies here.
Ah thats where the sun has gone, tis drizzling here at the mo.
Are plans still A Ok for you and Ata to meet up?
yes, she is going to text me when she is leaving Bognor Regis sometime this afternoon.
Thta's good - I'm sure you'll have fun!
and she will have the sproingy one with her too :)
PUrple collar and everything?
lol I would imagine so.
How is Spangle talking of sproingy ones?
She's fine, attending to the Arranging Of The Paws.
ah yes, well it is that time of the day.
what is the grid like today, found yesterdays a tad challenging for some reason.
I have an interesting meeting this morning. The club house we use for RDA is needing to be replaced, but we're not sure where we go to get a second-hand decent portacabin. So, I wrote to the boss of the biggest building firm in the county to ask for help - he's sending a man along to see what they can do to help!
HI FM
Oh good luck and good thinking Haz!
Evening hernin
*or herin even!
It's not that we want them to give us one, just some guidance on where to get our hands on one that's in good condition. We really have no idea about prices etc so we thought we'd ask the men who would know.
well you never know, they might donate one.
Even if they helped us get the old one out and the new one installed, it would be a help - it's going to involve a crane, I'm sure.
and that all cocts, do let me know how the meeting goes, what time are you off?
If we play our cards right, it could be the main headline in the local paper. Last week's Ballymoney Chronicle had 'Pigeon poisoned' as its headline.
LOL
We've to meet him at 11.30 - he sounded very friendly so it should be fine.
Just have a good morning tea or lunch laid out and you will have him eating out of your hands (so to speak)
Hello all
lol and hello lynxxx
Hello, lynxxx. Good idea, I could defrost some scones.
Anyone have a clue for the 9?
We'll set him down just where the wind whistles through the badly fitted windows, feed him coffee and scones and smile a lot. That's our plan.
I didn't know scones froze! here I was forcing(!) myself to eat any left over because they go stale quickly TY
HAven't started the grid yet Christine.
su9 - a compound word indicating extra special qualities of attractiveness.
Yes, scones freeze very well.
What a shame, lynxx won't have an excuse to eat them all up now.
I have that one, but there's another.
I think it's pr9 but haven't found it yet.
Thanks haz
pr9 ia a little royal
TY for the lead Haz
Dear me, who'd have thought? From minor royal houses?
good morning again, hello haz and FM and lynxxxx!
Hello, ruby.
or maybe an inbred midget royal
Morning ruby
hey again ruby
Or just when they're tiny babies?
nice clues; I couldn't get the 9's when I was on earlier
Only boys can be minor it seems.
I'm still not at half but closing! Did you disable the Ipod yet herin?
hi Ruby
a flaw in the royal serve
I try eeler every time, hoping it will finally be accepted but haz always says it's just another fisherman! lol
lol BR
ooh - a word just for FM - her fav school outfit
oh for heavens sake!! :)
Oh yes, Greek and floaty for spectacular dancing!
you are NEVER going to let me forget that are you!
I just found a great British site on bad Chav dressing
are you sorry you ever mentioned it FM!
Yes *sigh*
FM, people were talking yesterday about a new book 'The Help' by Kathryn Stockett. It's about servants in the US. I was debating whether your cleaning lady was going to write about her experiences with you. Keep an eye on her and pounce if you see her stopping to write in a notebook.
*grin*
Thank you for the PR hint - found it, and now I'm awa' to ma wee bed. Good night, y'all.
Goodnight, Christine.
Bye Christine
bye Christine
too funny, haz, was it hego talking about it?
herin whats the url?
sweet dreams chirstine
I want to hear about the school uniform!
That's a great book. Really gone, this time.
Not telling, ruby.
There were quite a few on at the time, very enthusiastic about the book. I had a look on Amazon, it seems to be written in southern American drawl, I'd have to draw on my imagination to read it easily.
The school uniform? We've only had sketchy details, but a delightful picture they raise.
and sketchy they will remain.
Rats!! now I can't go ... was it St. Trinian's uniform??
Go to be Christine :)
*go to bed even, see my nerves are jangled at the mere thought of the t word
You know how you get to the point you;ve passed the wide yawns ... that's me, now. I've passed sleepy and/or tired.
Of course, St Trinians was always divided into the short, stout, hockey playing little ones, and the fishnet stockinged sixth formers. What happened in the school holidays to transform them, I wonder?
But Searle's drawings of the uniforms were too much.
I haven't seen the new versions of St Trinians - there was always an innocence about the older versions which has probably been discarded, unfortunately. And Alastair Sim and Joyce Grenfell just can't be replaced.
Joyce Grenfield "You silly sausage".
Sorry, I meant Grenfell.
She was the most wonderful actress and monologue speaker, a great woman.
Haz just typed what I was about to say. Back in a mo, time for morning coffee.
See you shortly, FM.
may I have a clue for the 7, pls?
then I'll have half
ef7 gave forth
ef7 - past tense of ef6/39
And do you have or6/24 - Annie was a little one.
thank you, now I can do my husband's little computer chore! he's been bugging me all morning!
ty for the "gift" haz
All the best for that, ruby - and you're welcome.
and am back
Have much to do today but can't get settled into anything :(
And I've just lifted scones out of the freezer.
Two cherry, two date and wheaten and two plain.
what a sensible word - cu6.24
glad one uf us is getting organised.
oh love the sound of the date ones.
Jeeves with a tine obsession?
The date ones are nice - made with wheatmeal flour and I use buttermilk and egg for mixing.
oh that makes me want to do some baking.
I told you I was going to a pampered chef thing the other night? I'm hosting one in May!
wow, what is involved?
what does that entail Haz?
The demo consists of the lady making two recipes - and along the way she demonstrates the equipment that Pampered Chef sells. You then get the chance to sample what she has made and you can order whatever you like from the catalogue.
back. Naturally, he didn't give me enough information so instead of one call, it will take several! And all in French
It wasn't high pressure sales or anything like that and I'll do mine and use the profit to go to a charity rather than getting more kitchen stuff for myself.
So what will be your two dishes?
I don't know yet, they use different dishes each month.
what sort of kitchen stuff? price range?
I'll hope to get up to 15 ladies here, all with generous natures and overflowing purses.
The range covers everything from pastry brushes right up to saucepans and things so a wide range of prices. It looks to be good quality and I enjoyed the evening so I thought I'd do one as well.
that sounds like a lot of fun
how big is your kitchen?
Sounds like fun - and useful. Better than Tuppawear!
It does and as we all know our Haz is an excellnt cook.
It's 13 feet by 13 feet and a utility room as well where some of the equipment can go.
Hmmm, a baby earthquake - maybe an aftershock to Monday's.
I only know dimensions because I've been measuring it up recently (for papering)
where are you Christine?
In :os Angeles.
Haz is the Nigella Lawson of Ballymena
ahah
are you getting earthquakes there Christine...from the Chile one still?
That's Los Angeles, of course.
even I (in the sticks) know that name!
Don't say that, FM! She drives me round the bend, all that puting and simpering. And when WILL she ever learn to use an apron?
*pouting
oh no - does Haz give meaningful glances as well?
along the San Andreas fault
has anybody seen Julie and Julia?
*grin* knew that would get you, sorry could help myself.
We're on the San Andreas Fault, and have small eathquakes throughout the year.
lynxxx, the sort of meaningful glances I gave have an ENTIRELY different sort of effect!
Not yet ruby although was looking at the DVD the other day.
It has had good reviews
Rubyfoo, I used to read her blog, and read the book, but haven't seen the film. That tall woman's laugh drives me crazy.
I think we'll all love it, but when it will come to France is another question.....
Well, I'd better start getting this softening up picnic put together. Well done for thinking of it, lynxxx. If we get a new portacabin out of this, we'll name it 'The Lynxxx'
Bye Haz, good luck and might see you later when Ata ishere.
bye haz
as long as its not a Portaloo....Good luck Haz
Thanks, FM! Bye all - I'll be back later. *gone*
see you later

secondo is suppose to be in the school play tonight, and a good 30% of the cast has the same bug. I will have to check and see what the rule is regarding attendance during day and performance at night....she may be well enough by tonight to slog through....
if you put a inch of water with a touch of camphor in the bottm #1 you will not get vomitus backsplash and #2 it will not smell so bad
wow, good tip, thanks! :)
learned the hard way
I figured as much, but didn't like to say....you are such an amazing survivor of life, crossy!
lol,im just a stubborn arse
on a babble-related note, you wouldn't happen to have a clue for the bottom right u, by any chance?
a tip you will not find in betty crokers book of handy household hints:)
just started trif
well, ta anyway
*yawn* good morning all...
good morning nancy.
wait, isn't it like, the crack of noon for you?
thats when you know you babble too much..you put a word in ,not because you can see it,but because there are enough of the proper letters floating around to tell you it just has to be there lol
it is 7 am lol
oh nb
well, yes and no, Trif. It's 11am here, yeah. but I'm nineteen, so that's the crack of dawn ;)
lol lazy bum
Well Crossy you know how hard I was working last night ;) into the wee hours as well, it turned into a competition...invited a few friends over...had some fun!
lol,did you get it off?
LOL nancy....how I miss those days! we us4 to have something called "disco naps" nancy, when one would sleep from 9 - 11 at night, in order to be able to boogie oogie oogie til dawn...the good old days!
POINCE
POINCE right back at you!
lol iremember those triff.sleep from 7 till 9.then drink for an your ,then hit the bars
Trifies Happy Birthday to Primo
hour
thanks herin!
Nancy that is the wee hours
and the typos begin;/
Crossy...we have very irresponsible friends...we got ours -mostly- off but a couple of people left with shamrocks of their own! Amongst other things, so I have to call some people and apologise today ;)
Good morning all.
lol nb
We did it every day on our big trip, Trif! The first three days in a new place, you keep normal hours, steadily letting them slip, and then you make the move to being nocturnal!
his father took him out for a birthday dinner last night, and didn't invite me. wasn't THAT grand of him? TOOOOOOL
howdy sixty7
Nancy I would call that before the crack - o - noon
glad to know the disco nap tradition lives long after disco, Nancy
Maybe waistband wanted time with him. Was Primo ok with it? Further more could hve been more civilised and had a ''family'' diner
i personally buried disco in 1980 lol
Morning Siss c[_]!
Well quite, Herin ;)
Nancy I got to see Placebo recently. Very happy
well, young people today don't have the stamina to go on dancing all night. I swear that's why so many drugs are used.
Oh Herin, serious?! where was this?!
okay, which one of us ancients wants to clue nancy in on the existence of drugs back in the disco era?
lol nb..we floated on a sea of booze and drugs..just not so many chemicals
At Soundwave. It was a huge 12 hour rock gig
Well Trif, I have an idea ;) but so many club drugs are just designed to keep you awake and alert and jumpy...not chilled out!
My drug of choice in my twenties was Red Slushies from 7 -11
with us it was weel or lsd, purple mikes, cali sunshines..i will not embarrass the rest of the white haired ones with the full list lol
quick question for our non-us members today - have you all heard anything at all about a girl called Candace here in the states, and the prom controversy she is facing?
Oh Herin you lucky lady :) I saw them at Reading...last summer! seems ages ago now, before Steve left
or maybe it's Constance....
not heard a peep, Trif. What's the story?
Yes I have Trifs and I think it is disgusting. First to vilify her for her sexual preference then to cancel the prom the kids could easily hurt her and it is just nasty. Can't see why the school didn't just be poliet about it and not cancel the Prom and just not let her go if people were so damn up tight about it
anyway, she lives down south in the US, and she wants to attend her senior prom with her girlfriend, and the school said they would rather cancel the whole thing before they would let two lesbians attend --- and the DID! Now Constance is being bullied by other kids at the school who are pissed because prom is cancelled, and the town is in an upr6
Herin, I think they just should have let her go, and not made an issue of it.
good lord,poor girl.up here we care not a wit.bring your girl,bring your boy.bring your partner..thats terrible
Well see I see it from the other side too. Don't know if the school was a religous school or whether the school had issues with sexual preference
does the school honestly think there has never been a lesbian at prom before? IDIOTS
some states still make such a big deal of it;((
no, it's a public school, and to me that is the whole problem.
no, it's a public school, and to me that is the whole problem.
If ''those sort of people are in the closet we don't care'' head desk
how dare they say she can't attend a public school function?
ahem..we have been marrying same sex couples for 3 years now people..get over it..my god..once again my heart goes out to the girl
My g.f in highschool busted a guys nose and jaw and four of the other bullies noses after they threw the first punch because she is gay
that is awful, Trif. The prom's a really big deal in America, too, isn't it? Canada has the right idea. though naturally, I'm biased.
mine too, crossy. She is very, very brave to take a stand
Prom is KING in the south, nancy
i would be inclined to haul the schools arse before a judge
I personal can't see an issue because to me gender and preference is all just box's people put other people in so they feel secure in their world
I wonder if they are doing that, Crossy...I mean, the school's reasoning isn't exactly going to stand up, is it
nope,it is not
I would assume it will head in that direction, crossy. but the poor girl is in for a lot of hate wrapped in a lifetime of stupid.
My old highschool is crap
yup,it is just a different version of the 60,s in the deep south..a waste
I can't complain. Our school had a prom...and I was in charge of organizing it!
LOL nancy - rock on! what was your theme?
we humans are so slow to learn our lessons are we not/;(
incremental, crossy.
Nancy you remind me of IJ in school
We had a very vague Shakespeare theme...lots of beautiful outfits that were semi-costume but sort of not, as well. No, it was great. We threw it outdoors so luckily the weather was perfect!
IJ, Herin? :)
lol funny how the mind connects things.reminded me of being able to smoke right in the hospital lol god.we are idiots lol
sounds like it was alots of fun nb
IJ was this fantastic guy in High School that stood up to a homophobic teacher by saying to her '' I wouldn't expect much from someone still dressing in the 70's'' before walking out
LOL crossy! my wasband always laughed when he remembered his kindergarten teacher, who could play the piano, conduct the class in singing, drink her cup of tea and smoke her cigarette all at the same time
lol.err.i still have a pair of old levis, bell bottom cords and my platform shoes from my graduation....
that sounds like a great prom nancy!
not that i could wear the pants lol
omg, crossy, that is HILARIOUS!!!
it was great, Crossy :) but then, I never had much of a problem in high school; the most I ever got was a bit of hassle in all-male lessons, like PE, but it's just fear of the unknown really.
test
4 inch soles!! lol
Hi, Jaybo :)
CROSSY! LOL
we read you jay...over
okay, hands up who wants to see Crossy in that outfit?
Oh, I am ROLLING! Photos, man, we need photos!
... --- ... ... --- ......god crossy is so witty lol
you are not seeing me in bell bottoms and platform shes
mean old crossy! :(
me
shoes
Nancy did you read my comment?
Oops, it got buried in the chog...lemme scroll back!
crossy, for goodness sake, you survived cancer multiple times, you can survive us seeing you in that outfit!
Nancy: IJ was this fantastic guy in High School that stood up to a homophobic teacher by saying to her '' I wouldn't expect much from someone still dressing in the 70's'' before walking out
lol,id have to hunt the old pictures down and scan then.i dont have the in digital
LOL, Herin! I wish I had that much sass ;) didn't really need it, though. As I say, I had a pretty fair time of it in high school. I had a lot of female friends, so the other boys began to recognize my value as a kind of romantic mediator ;)
I think we would settle for a photo of you now, wearing the shoes.....
hear hear, Trif!
big loud shirt with the big collars
LOL
big hair
had hair down almost to my butt lol
Any clues for su 9/78 please
My old highschool reunion is coming up soon. THere is going to be a least one girl that is going to be huge pregnant. Well it really will be a high school reunion.
the ladies used to like to play with ma hair;))
LOL Crossy! this just sounds fantastic :)
now i grow more hair on my toes than on my head hehe
oooh, I'd love that, Herin.
it was another time nb hehe
oh, gads, I just remembered - back in the DAY my mom was rushing around buying christmas presents, and bought my cousin one of those faboooo 70s shirts with the big patterns all over it. She was in such a dither that she didn't notice the pattern was naked ladies! I still remember him opening it and saying "HEY! ALL RIGHT!" in this delighted tone, my aunt having a fit, and my mom about fainting from embarrassment. my cousin would have been around 17 then, so he was MIGHTY chuffed
lol, love the loud big collar shirts
If any of you two still have fantastic 70's guys stuff size small 32 waist send them to me
lol herin ,i had a 30 waist at that time
30/32 as i recall
Trif!!! Great story :)
32 inseam that is
morning babble buds! just reading back on chat... laffing from some, sad from others.
Well ship them this way
Hi AD
morning adhd come with me,we will hit the dance floor under the strobe and you can shake that bootay
Hiya, DoDo :) looks like a bit of a 70s revival morning, if you wanna get into that ;)
we went to a 70s party last summer, what a blast from the past
My B.f is a serious addict of hideous brown suits
LOL Herin!
we went "antique" shopping for outfits
leisure suite?
suits?
the suits were horrible,i refused to wear them
what about nehru collars?
I remember those! very sgt peppers....
all slim fits,all pastels..ugh
I am serious he loves them found a fantastic one at an opshop for $20 complete 3 piece fits him like it was made from him
for not from
the polyester paisley shirts with the huge collars and pants sooooo tight the guys spoke soprano
but i did find a nice loud wide collar button shirt the other day..wife said she would break my arm if i touched it
...I may have a giant, faded shamrock drawn on my back, but all of a sudden the previous generation is managing to sound even MORE ridiculous ;)
my hubs still has his fav pair of bellbottom powder blue cords in an attic box... won't give them up, but he'll never fit in them again, so
youu have no idea nb
same here adhd,i have my bell bottom cords
i had a daisy painted on the trunk of my car
wow...I've gotta be frank DoDo...those sound just awful
i had a car held together with cut up beer cans
a horse tried to eat it in central park..kept following me, gave the driver a hard time
76 toyota celica..god what a machine hehe
my first beetle had lots of duct tape
lol
1970 red beetle
dont get me going on my bug again
picked it up from the dealer Jan. 20, 1970. $1895.00 included $35 for the AM radio
Alexanda bugs are awesome
right...well I suppose I can't put it off any longer; got to get up, have a shower and laugh at Leo because his shamrock is still mostly intact. Have a good day, everyone!
Alexander even
ahh..i can see the instrument cluster and the radio right now
lol have a great day NB
Loves Nancy
tc nb
and then I put an 8-track in it
i can actually hear one in my head revving up and changing gears
ah driving to work with Jose Feliciano's "Light My Fire" blaring
oh I just MISS that engine sound of the bug
i used to play cream
when you first got it,did you ever find yourself at the top of a hill and drift back while trying to find first? lol
I pulled into a Walmart lot to check out a yellow convertible, but someone else beat me to it by seconds and bought it on the spot from the old guy who just happened to be there
completely restored... with leather and updated stereo system for only 12k
nice...
10 times the original price lol
OMG crossy, YES! I learned to drive stick on my sis-in-law's bug and I DO remember the exact hill!
yep, but it was mint...
id be tempted also
but it was love at first sight and I bought one months later
the 1970 bug I'm talkin bout, not the restored one
never saw many rag tops up here though
winters were too hard on the canvas
my second 8-track... Born to be Wild! and that I was lol bopping around in my bug
my second 8-track was elton john i think
my kid sister had a rag top, until she crashed it
she didn't have a scratch, the bug was done in
i remember when rock was fun...me a sizie had so much fun..holding hand and skimming stones..lol
suzie even
lucky sis
my ex had a 1966 mustang that he put an automobile turntable in!
i actually owned a device that was an adaptor that you jammed into the 8 track so you could play the new cassettes on it
listen to you two
almost can make superior!
as we speak all the young kids are kissing their i-pods
ahhhh this trip down memory lane; and me? yes, an eidetiker, see, feel, and smell everything about it
lol... and here I sit with MY ipod lol
wait around herin..we are going to talk about lumps and compare scars next lol
lol oh jeepers, lets not get on the scar issue... after our beetle wreck, I became the poster queen of scars!
and we never said a word about our 16 track reel to reels,so be happy
heheh
O AD that sounds bad
fr a car? i don't know about that
cr 5/12 last one pls
or are you talking about the reel to reel home console. we had a Webcor with this heavy mike, my dad used to record my sisters and I playing guitars and singing folk songs
funny enough, one of my bigger scars is from getting run over by a vw carmen ghia lol
I have my parents vinyls and I love it.
no way!!!
yup thats the type adhd..dad used to make me do all the splicing
my husband has such a huge collection of vinyls; there's nothing like that sound
when primo was little, I played him my Star Wars soundtrack album, and later he asked me where that "really big CD" was....he didn't even know the WORD album
I remember so well crossy.
my evil wife made me sell of most of my records;((
and yes herein.. a crash in a beetle is bad. we were hit by a Cougar, almost headon; totalled our car; it took almost an hour to extract me out of it
Trifs what star wars soundtrack?
when cd,s first came out,my dad tried one on the turntable lol
the first one. double album! whoooooo
is this the same evil wife that yesterday you said you love to make her laugh, for 17 years now? hmmmm?
fickle, fickle crossy!
err..yes..i am a forgiving soul
too funny crossy
Err Trifs
remember... I have an eidetic memory!!!
you remember ducks?
like an elephant who never forgets!
my blessing AND curse
oh,thats right..a woman who remembers everything..good grief!
like ADD
Trigs
that's the blessing part, the curse is that I can't forget either
Trifs even
okay, herin, what did I do? should I have corrected for a new hope being the sixth story?
what I see, hear and feel... sometimes it really stinks
btw... how's the grid. I haven't even LOOKED at it yet!!!
I still think it's funnier to say you remember ducks, adhd....
I have the same vinyl right here complete with poster
ducks???
i can imagine, sometimes a humans best gift is being able to forget horros and bury them under a gauze of time.having it fresh and sharp at any moment could be hard
for a second there, my memory went back to my kids sister
did anyone ever manage to find the u's in the right corner? I still can't find them.....
ok,whats with the ducks?
I'd come home from school (senior high) and she'd taken all of my clothes off the wire hangers and bent them. said she made ducks
look at the word for adhd's memory again.....
lol
Trifs did you read?
yes herin
UT 5
So yes the vinyl is still alive in this house
oh yea..there is a grid here lol
oh, there it is! thanks herin!
i made my hubby put his collection in the basement; it's just tooo large
un4.6 is the other
Cheers.
bless you lynxxx!
where is Norwell trif?
nbt
AD you are mean. You realise how expensive some of those viynls are worth
south shore of boston, down by hingham, scituate, and a bit north of plymouth
oh no, the basement is fully finished; it's where our home theater is lol
about 30 minutes from cape cod, on a good day
and a unfinished damp basement will mess them up
ahh ok then
Ok I am moving into ADs house
come on by for a visit, adha, we never close, and we have TONS of room! Crossy and the fam are heading down one of these days for a visit
i know that; i'd never do that; we DO respect each other's "stuff"
hello everybody
Hi Ruby
howdy ruby
roooooooby! hello dear one!
hi again, herin, how goes it with the music?
hi crossy
Invite Crossie and Mrs Crossie over then he can do his famous breakie
hello adhd; I have that kind of memory too
music??
oh, I'm in CT; I'd surely love to visit. and anyone who knows me knows I can say at any time, see ya in a week, I'm off to... wherever
and now adding babblets, one by one
do you really ruby? I hate it sometimes
does it work for you with voices?
c'mon up! It's LOVELY where I live - seriously. 30 minutes to cape cod, 30 minutes to boston, 15 minutes to the beach, an hour from great skiing, and I live in the woods. I truly have it all at hand
?? you mean the sound of a voice? or voices in my head??????
Smell is one of my memory triggers
I can read a movie review, not see the film, hear one voice from it and know which movie it is
jk yes, I relive, see, feel, smell just about everything.
sound of a voice - lol - no voices in my head!
well that is impressive.
That is impressive Ruby
well, time to go soap down this mass of muscle..bbs..semi poof
when my husband likes me (rarely), he thinks it's wonderful; the rest of the time he says my head is filled with inconsequential garbage. Nice. That's because I don't read philosophy....
yes it works with everything, but voices? I remember/relive hurtful things too and it takes great effort to :
put it away
I think the bad stuff is just part of the package
my family teases me; they used to say I remember the womb, now they say I remember conception (eeeuuu!)
the only stuff I don't remember clearly is when I was on Tamoxifen for 2 1/2 yrs and it took away, temporarily thank God, my memory. I couldn't even spell or do crosswords
I remember my grandfather who died when I was 18 months old.
eewww
everything about him
I can remember being bathed in the kitchen sink, so I couldn't have been very old!
I bathed my son in the sink till he was 3 lol
I rembmer the way both of my grandmothers smelled, one good, one bad
ONe of my friends says I have Synesthesia which is linked to schizophrenia to which me being a smart arse responded wiht ''is it bad to respond to the voices in your head''
but the bad stuff is horrid. like my mom's cancer, my dad's cancer (he died recently)
did several rounds of therapy to help rid me of nightmares
yes, but then I'm sure you remember all the good stuff about them, too
oh GOD - just went to feed the dogs, and a mouse ran out of the pantry and across my bare foot! SHRIEK! LOL, guess there go the visiting plans....
Ruby you are a worthy person. Don't let someone tell you otherwise
I'm sorry about your dad. Mine died in 2002 and although I miss him, it is my mother I think about, and she died in '97
i have a sister responded to those voices; poor thing. mental illness is so hard to deal with (hers, not me)
AND Ruby if you were my mum or lived near me you so woul be at my house
does she take her meds?
AD I joke because it keeps me sane
ruby, repeat after me: I AM WORTHY! I AM WORTHY!
thank you herin; I am truly touched by that. I never had a daughter!
herin when you hear music, does it make colors in your head? what I mean is, do you think of songs as "the blue song" "the yellow song" etc.?
and my husband is a jerk, my husband is a jerk (if a very smart one lol)
It does Trifs.
Hi Gang.
I like the idea of colors for music. I don't have that
HI Hego
hello hego, we're talking about memory and self-worth
I can see things in the music. I am very good at reading people
tx ruby, i miss my mom too, she died in Jan. 96 just 11 months after diagnosis
And as it is going to sound weird smelling too. I mean I can smell 'sense when b.f is sick
that is, in fact, one of the hallmarks of synethenesia, but I have never heard it linked to schiczophrenia
very philosophical
and I cannot spell today!
does anybody get songs, frequently old stupid ones, in their head?
Happens to me all the time Ruby
ALL THE TIME ruby. As in, all the time. I always, always have a song in my head. the Germans call that "ear worms"
that isn't weird Herin, mothers have always said they could smell their baby's fevers!
I can read people and it scares some, but I an not good a judging people, cuz I see good in everyone and I am wrong at times
That is called Earworms Ruby
but it's true, there is "fever smell"
really or are you pulling my ear???
trust me, I can totally smell that my two girls are sick today. gross, but too true
No really
Good Morning everyone - how is the grid looking this morning - just starting and only here for a bit
ear worms?
I always have some song playing in my head.
no, that's not gross, that's motherhood! And the vet smells the dogs, especially their ears!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earworm
just s figure of speech, a song that you can't get out of your head
Hi MNH
HI momn
fever breath has a very distinct odor
Trifs that smell lingers in your nose
ruby, do you have very graphic (violent or otherwise) and colorful dreams?
I can see me sniffing my patients.
I joined Pro last night but still cant those cute little people and flags to work - what am I doing wrong
frequently they're realy stupid ones from before I was born, e,g, "My pa gave me a nickle to buy a pickle, I didn't buy the pickle, I bought some chew gum....etc" How bad is that?
thank god for febreze....tertiare HOSED the living room last night, so I will be in there all day trying to scrub it all out.
Hego you a doctor or nurse?
....and thanks for that ruby.....
A nurse herin
oh and ruby, were you or your friend implying that synesthesia is bad??
I have wonderful dreams, frequently "starring" movie personalities and frequently without my being in them. I love it. But, then again, it may be the Xanax I take before I go to bed
me too hego
I don't know what synesthesia is
In a free clinic so some ofour patients are VERY fragrant. lol
AD that was me and my friend was a tad concerned
do you know what synesthesia is?
Hego in a hospital you have so many chemicals masking the smells you are likely descentised.
Really ADHD.
OR in your case the patient them self may be a little to ''interesting '' to smell anything else
Yes AD i do
hego... lolololol I remember one patient who had 4 inch toenails and socks that were stuck to them
No I was in a hospital many years. Never got desenstized, unfortunately.
Ruby Synesthesia is when you see colours as numbers
will someone explain synesthesia? It may be what I have but, if yes, I think it's a good thing
eeeew!
LOL ADHD
no, I thought it might be another memory thing....
easy explanation? could be related tho.
when one sense is stimulated by another
whew. school just phoned. if secondo is up to it, she can still be in the school play tonight. BIG relief. about 30% of the cast is home with the same bug, so this could get real interesting!
I think the fact or our having to memorize so much stuff in school when I was young (100 yrs ago), it improved memory for all of us
O Trifs that is not good.
I thought it was when your senses got mixed up. Like seeing sounds or smelling colors.
a sensation that normally occurs in one sense modality occurs when aother modality is stimulated
Yep Hego
Or that.
and I still remember mnonics [sp?] from biology class. Who remembers "keep Peter's comb out of fat george's scalp
she hasn't barfed in a few hours, so she might be pulling it together. a bigger concern now will be dehydration, and on stage fainting. oh, the joy!
he
Ok Get some err pedolite
my very earnest mother just sat upon nothing positive - I remember that one from school!
http://pedialyte.com/ this stuff
I can't agree w/that ruby for me anyway. as soon as i hit middle school, my ADD brain had a terrible time remembering school stuff; i was too nervous
no, that's not what I have, I think eidetic was more like it
got 4 minutes to get to the next class or else detention; get to your locker, different lunch times every day...
Do you remember everything Ruby?
no, my school experience was very different
AD that would have killed me. I have to have a routine
herin, I am WELL versed in pedialyte, no worries, but thanks!
almost hego, except how to play babble lol
I know and we had a rotating schedule
Ok sorry
where did you go to school?
Thank goodness we never had that
I hate remembering everything. my exhusband said my memory will kill me some day
no, no, no need for sorry! I am delighted at the way you are always so helpful
no, no, no need for sorry! I am delighted at the way you are always so helpful
Ruby me too. Not as well as when I was young. Then I never forgot.
the NYC schools were wonderful when I was young; I'm sure they are less good now
I am even organised in the sense of Mango folder - M is for Monday
Trifs I couldn't remember what the stuff would be called in teh states
I also vote Tea and toast
or plain noodles
my memory can be a source of great pleasure when I have nothing to do or can't get to sleep. It's been an interesting life, to put it mildly!!!
Well maybe in one sense we're lucky ruby... usu. when you get older, you start forgetting stuff, I have more to remember
I went to school in Lyndhurst, NJ
Have yuo seen the book about the lady that doesn't forget a thing?
Same schools my mom went to.
agree ruby. One thing I do love is that when I miss my mom so much, I bring her to me in my dreams; and she's not sick in my dreams, she's chubby and healthy and has hair!
my husband thinks he has no memory loss because he remembers EVERYTHING from elem school and jr high, but NOTHING from last month! lol
The Woman Who Can't Forget
she was interviewed by Diane Sawyer
that sounds like an Oliver Sachs title
Men have selective memories.
Snap
morning all
I am off to work, so I will see you all later, hopefully. happy babbling to all!
just read about a woman who is trying to be the fattest woman in the world!!
I think of my mother every day, how much she would love this place, how she missed my wedding and knowing my wonderful dogs, etc.
Hi Peri.
Bye triffy
bye trif, it's been fun, I hope nobody faints of stage!
God Peri, what an ambition. Ugh
on*
my brain has no room for minutia, so don't ask where my keys are, but I can tell you where you put your keys 3 years ago, and what you were wearing that day
Hi Peri
right, hego, why would anyone aspire to be that!!!
just can't find my own lol
Guess I'll do some words.
bye trif
is she trying to be in the Guinness Book of Records, before she dies, that is lol
Peri that woman should have her kid taken fromher
Bye Trifs
I can't imagine Peri.
she had two children with her in the picture I saw
I think maybe she should get a Darwin award
she might be trying for that ruby, but she will surely kill herself
how old r u ruby? if I may ask...
what is a Darawin award
How is this grid? Anybody know?
just started
she said she doesn't buy in to all the hype about obesity linked to things like diabetes and heart diseas
the Darwin award is for people who are too stupid to survive and therefore contribute to the improvement of the gene pool. Nasty Ruby!!!
well, I think she is nuts
almost 67, next month
what mom are you guys talking about? i can't find it in chat
so she's not only fat, but is a genius hahah
oh, you said your mom missed your wedding, so i thought
Ruby, my s i l talks about the Darwin award all the time.
no, we had more than one "mom conversation" going at cross-purposes
the fat mon is something I saw on MSN.com
does your s i l mean it the same way?
what's this one about a "nuts" mom, and fat and diabetes?
my mother died the year before I re-married
Here is an example of a Darwin award:
Keep up, Girl, keep up. lol
dodo, that is the one I saw on Msn.com
somebody mentioned a woman who was trying to be the fattest in the world!
Three Brazilian men were flying in a light aircraft at low altitude when another plane approached. It appears that they decided to moon the occupants of the other plane, but lost control of their own aircraft and crashed. They were all found dead in the wreckage with their pants around their ankles.
Darwin strikes again!
LOLOL
morning everyone. Momneedshelp, you are hooked ... you went pro!
If you spent $750 a week on food for yourself who is looking after the kids
OMG!!
oh so sorry ruby. I totally understand. The day my first grandson was born I cried so hard for my mom. She was a first grade teacher and called her student "my children" She was a kid lover, which is why my dad was attracted to her (and probably the big boobs helped
MOM
I did go Pro but cant figure out how to get the cute little icons on
yikes that is an awaful lot of money.
My sil was an Air Force Rescue pilot. He saw Darwin cases all the time.
{{Herin}}
my icon is getting boring and I am incapable of changing it, so don't feel bad, momn!
TRYING to be the fattest? talk about dumb as a box of rocks!

well that didnt work - need to refresh again
ONe of my class mates said that caffeine was bad and so was drinking those energy drinks. I said that if you failed reading the bottle and the limit to drink in a day then you deserve a darwin award
and what could he think gave the drink the energy?
Momneedshelp, you might have to refresh under my account before you get out of it
it came with my hubby (I mean he used it and I adopted it) dumb as a box of rocks... our initial attraction was a "brain" attraction and he used it a lot so he says, until he met me. hee hee
have you read about people who use Red Bull as a mixer and can drink more, still get drunk but not fall asleep?
and then have accidents?
sounds digusting
ruby I did not realize I was in the grid again today. nothing between Dr_G and me :) I chose the name periwinkle cause I liked the sound of it and it is a pretty flower
Caffeen sends me too sleep
is that a joke ruby?
Here is another Darwin award for your pleasure.A man in Alabama died from rattlesnake bites. It seems that he and a friend were playing a game of catch, using the rattlesnake as a ball. The friend - no doubt a future Darwin Awards candidate - was hospitalized.
I'll be back later; I;m getting dirty looks through the window of my studio from Mr. Nasty

ahh,our orange blossoms remind me of when our apple orchards flower,it is a snow storm or white petals and you can actually taste fall and cider and apples in the air.when my boy was young he used to look up in the air and spin around in circles trying to catch them all ,till he got dizzy and landed on his bum with a lapfull of white petals;0

YAY! Scrabbler!
Hi Scrabbs!
How is everyone?
just fine and you?
cwossy is sick:(
great and you?
Poor Crossy caught a cold.
Distressed about sister losing job--attorney. Casualty of NY state economy.
What's going on, Crossy?
im reduced to taking the wifes ventolin and flovent.when i breathe out i sould like a bowl of rice krispies with milk just poured in it
I am sniffly too and unsure if this is a cold starting or allergies.
One of my stepgirls just lost hers.
Do you have asthma?
i have showed signs of it over the last 2 years but have never been a regular user of the puffers scrabbs
She's delighted and looking forward to summer at the beach.
It is distressing to hear about people losing their jobs
Talk to your doc, Crossy.
That doesn't sound good Crossy.
It is very distressing. She has 3 boys. Ex-husband is no help.
Lings shouldn't make noise as a rule.
uh, lungs
i know it scrabbs we have a pair of aero chambers as well and am taking per labelled directions
Scrabbs, I hope she finds another job soon
Sorry about your poor sis Scrab.
you should hear them hego..i cannot lay down now
It is very tough in Buffalo area. I am very worried about her.
Stop self medicating and see a doc, for God's sake. Tell him Scrabbler.
Crossy, are you getting relief from albuterol (Ventolin)?
im sorry you sis lost her job scrabbs
i saw the neighborhood workers working on the community pool yesterday. guess that means it will be opening soon! *excited*
Dan't change the subject!
You may have pneumonia. "Walking" pneumonia can cause wheezing, lots of coughing.
i take the ventolin 3 times a day(2 puffs) and the flovent 2 times a day(2 puffs)
You need medical attention.
helps somewhat
Flovent (steroid) takes 3 days to start to help.
This is how Jim Henson died.
Fever? Getting better or worse?
well then it would be just starting
this is 3rd day or 4th
Yeah, Crossy. See a doc.
Why not see your doc?
fevers are over, second day had 102 fever
crossy, I didnt know you were sick. please see a doctor.
te 6/24 pls
I suspect pneumonia and not just an asthma flare.
go to the doc crossy, FIL just did 2 stints in hospital for pneumonia
i promise if it gets any worse i will
I'm worried about that also, Scrabbler. Years of respiratory nursing.
don't wait, he did and couldn't walk 5 feet
*checking Mapquest for directions to Crossy's home* You are north of Toronto right? I should be there in 3 hrs.
*lovingly kicks Crossy in the ass* Go today, you silly sod.
lol not to worry scwabby ill go promise
Uh oh. Scrabbler house call. Would hate to see that bill.
Dummy!
Today, Crossy. Call your doc NOW.
the bill would be swift kicks in the arse
Listen to the Doc!
No charge for babblers. Once I had Krista call me here to discuss a health question as IM-ing was so slow.
emerg is better you call your doc around here they give you an appt a week from next tuesday lol
So kind of you.
Not being able to breathe is a class A emergency.
Do you have walk-in or urgent care clinics near you, Crossy? We have them here. They are cheaper than the emergency room (and you get treated a lot quicker).
te 6/24 help pls :)
Good morning folks.

Good morning/afternoon all.
Hey HAz!
hello haz
Hello!
Flosey, is that William?
How did the meeting go?
not getting the second pe6/21, clue please?
It went really well. They (manager and worker) came, poked and prodded and took photos and agreed that it needed to be replaced. They have 'contacts' and asked to leave it with them for a couple of weeks to ask around - so very positive.
yes Haz, he's chewing on his daddy's glasses
However, they didn't have time to have tea or coffee, so my scones were not needed.
He's grown so much, flosey - he's still a sweetheart!
ty Haz, going over to see him next week - haven't seen him since Christmas
I'm sure you can't wait - it will be lovely for you.
thanks Haz, feel like I'm missing so much!
but get regular reports on everything he's accomplishing
Ah, but you can't cuddle a report!
OH well all good then. Ata turned up early so has already gone, mainly as I kikced her out as the M25 on Friday is hellish and she was looking so v tired.
so true Haz
Oh, what a shame! I was out with Spangle on a nice walk - hope she gets home safely.

hi all
Hi jmc
Another time, FM, that purple collar will appear another time.
Hello, jmc.
is my word from the grid showing up?
It is when I click on your profile.
that's what i get for lurking
I told her to email me when she got back hom eand the realised I probably sounded like her Mother :)
no just a concerned and loving friend FM
But it's understandable that you worry. It is Ata...
I still see your dog, Haz
and I have to be off, TTFN sorry to cut and run.
See you later, FM.
not finding the pr6/27, first one
I haven't changed my icon, flosey, it was jmc asking about hers.
oh, sorry
pr6/27 is the plural of pr5/16.
bye FM
pr5/16 - pr, two letters of satisfaction, finish with a late vowel.
Or, backwards angelic musical instrument, wrapped up with the final vowel.
oh, thanks Haz, how dense!
No problem!
liked the second clue ty
I hadn't realised that it worked until I looked at the word again.
well, that pr9 is strange, is that referring to Harry and Wm.
Good question, maybe when they were babies?
lol
ty i was doing all sorts of strange things with the end of the pr6/24
fireworks - now must run, carpet bowling at 10:
be back tonight
Well done, flosey, enjoy your day!

Absolutely.

Bye jmc.
i am working from gremlin's list (lickety wont open for me) and he has a cr6/24 as the first cr??
No, the first one is cr5/14 -c plus a water plant
there's a cr5 before the plural
oh no sorry i see i am reading his list wrongly tx haz
No problem.
any stats today?
165 words, 2 9 letters, 1 seven letter.
tks haz
the su9 is a su9 word. LOL
You're welcome - it's quite a nice grid.
96.4% of all statistics are made up on the spot. My favourite stat of all time, that do?
Hello, Dachef. How are you?
fine.hot. tired. cranky. pick any combo.
You're missing home, aren't you? You just wish you could be here to share in the joy of a British Airways strike and the threat of a rail strike.
Ow wow just got a 9 letter one - is this a record!!It is such a silly word too I only put it in to amuse me as I was getting a bit bored!!
It is a bit surprising, isn't it?
ah, yes, the Great British striking public. Gotta love 'em.
It's not the same without Arthur Scargill.
Im supposed to be flyng back next week - are the airlines and trains really on strike again??
British airways cabin crew are coming out specially for Easter, and the rail strike seems to have been dreamed up quite recently.
Be fair Haz not so many strikes as there were 20 or so years ago, The Blessed Margaret drew a lot of teeth - like or.................!!
But perhaps that is because there is very little British industry left now"!!
Oh, I agree, it's no longer as regular an occurrence as it used to be - and they don't seem to last as long either.
Right, I should be ok then - well, I say ok, I'll have, of course to endure the Spanish inquisition onto why I am coming home, wait for some spotty little flunkey to disembowel my luggage and laugh at my underwear, and then endure the indignity of standing in the rain waiting for a train that will be so inevitably 6 hours late its a wonder they dont include it on the timetable and then it'll probably break down as usual in a field anyway. Travelling by public transport in the UK means adding two or three days onto your trip.
rant over.
So young and so cynical Dachef!!
You didn't get that job with the English Tourist Board, did you?
lol Haz!!
That was a direct quote from the English Tourist Board website!
What have you learned from your trip to the US? What insights to the LA way of life?
I quite like it here. Can't handle all the advertising tho - every website, pavement, tv, spare bit of ground is dedicated to advertising, and it tends to get rammed down your throat a bit.
But the people are cool, the weather is absolutely awesome, and some of the scenary is stunning.
I wondered if anything would be awesome.
now who's being cynical? This morning I had donuts and mountain dew for breakfast. Oh my God, I've gone native!!!!!!!
Have you changed your accent or anything?
hope not. We'll see.
I just know that any Americans I've met attach 'awesome' to anything and everything.
Psst....we drink mountain dew and eat donuts for breakfast in NY too
My husband has a terrible habit of adjusting his accent according to who he's with (he doesn't realise he's doing it).
I think I used that word before I came here though. I do exactly the same thing as your hubbie with the accent thing - have to wait for someone to point out that I'm doing it.
It can be very funny - I know from his voice whether he's talking to a farmer or an English client. We once did a questionnaire when we were in Donegal and he ended up having the strongest southern brogue to mirror the man who was asking the questions.
(talking on the phone, that is, to either the farmer or the English person)
I once got asked by an Irish man in a bar if I was taking the mickey out of him? He seemed quite annoyed and I couldn't figure out what I had said until someone pointed out that I was apparently mimiking his accent.
must be a man thing.
Yes, that's always my fear, that people will think he's mocking them. I wonder if it's to do with having a musical ear? Do you sing?
No I used to work for a work fir a West End Casino owned by a Jewish family and I soaked up all the J=ex0pressions till my boss accused me of being more Jewish than he was!! (My life already!!)
nope, I have the musical tendencies of Helen Keller. Im quite empathic tho - I can usually put myself in other people's shoes quite easily.
Oh well, back to the drawing board - that's my theory shot out of the water!
So, maybe you're unconsciously trying to make yourself more understandable to the other person?
hi all
Hello, Boo.
maybe. It could also be a sign of a need to be accepted, or even a desire to blend into the background and not draw attention to yourself. But thats just amateur psychology.
But you're not thinking of getting therapy or anything?
Those psychologist's adverts haven't convinced you that you need help?
no, Im all cured now. The doctors said so. I can go out in the street on my own and everything.
That's impressive.
Nothing says you're sane like a certificate from the doctor.
Anyway, good to chat, but it's time to get to the kitchen. Bye and all the best for travelling!
ty, take care.
afternoon babblers...
hi eva
clue for the last cr 5/12 pls
Hello, all
cr+something slippery, Boobear
I think you can have a good ear for dialect without having musical talent. My second daughter does. She also very easily picks up accents and dialects, has since a child. I consider that ability a real talent because it allows you to mirror the other person. Probably if you explain to them what it's about they would not take offense. Very interesting ability.
Has anyone got a clue for kr5/18, please?
swedish money guernsey
clue for cu 6/24 pls
hi all
hi Dorens
ty ursh, why couldn't i see that?
cu6 someone who makes knives and forks.
K + unusual female name
cu + Rhett Bu****
ty
Ok, I'm sorry but the su 9 is SO two words!
Totally agree, kc
or at least hyphenated
never fails to amaze me what is considered a word and what isn't! Guess it's like the language, rules, but always exceptions to them!
That's right, and it's the exceptions that make it so interesting.
hello all.
Hello, stidmama
hello stidmama - long time no see!
(((dippnall))) indeed! how are you? SPRING STARTS TOMORROW!!!! *bounce bounce* I am so redy
oops. I am ready, that is. my typing is shot today
hi, all. we just had a small "oops." My husband accidentaly spilled an entire tumbler full of cola on the carpet. He blotted up as much as he could with towels, then he used some of my homemade all purpose cleaner to take care of the rest. There is NO stain left in the carpet!
at last.......very late this year..........but the spring flowers are beginning to show.....days are longer........birds nesting.........
just cut the grass for the first time.
Phew, angel!

howdy babble buds! I'm done with this grid and I've just updated my profile with more clues. Hope they help.
Hi AD
HI HE!
HA HA
ho ho
It won't ever be said of me that I linger and take clues and never give any
Never!
I have to go now. G'nite All!
there was a chat a while back that I came in on where people were complaining about "certain" babblers who ask for clues, never chat, and never give clues. Other babblers were not happy about that. They said... "You know who ..." but I don't know who
nite hego
hego, you're not too far from me
I'd really love to have a babblers bash
anybody here?
i;m working on the grid. ADHD, there are a lot of babblers from your area, Mass, NH, RI area...
ADHD, dc Seain is in your area and he is often behind the Babbler bashes on the east coast
how many babblers usu show up?
check my profile for clues (I tried to clue the oddities)
dc seain is not in ADHD's area, he is in the DC area.
that's 6 hours away at least
thats like 8 hours or more away.
Connecticut is pretty close isn't it red?
but you could take a train...
No bugs it isnt.
oh, in the west, that is close
8 hrs drive for a lunch is not usually something I did even when I lived on the west coast!!!
not really... i'm in litchfield county. dc is 5 1/2 hours from bridgeport by train, and bridgeport is over an hour from me.
it could be doable, if you really wanted to do it.
u r right bugsie. my husband is from maine. we go there several times a year *northern, 3 mi. from canada border). "Down the road" usually means an hour drive
here in the east, more than 3h is considered far. For example, we daytrip to Philadelphia or the Delaware/Maryland beaches, nearby VA/WV mts by car, but New York City we take train, as 5h too far for day, and parking too much.
I usually see like, pictures of 4-5 people at DC's meet ups.
hello, :)
HI DC!
well speak of the devil... hi dc
yes red, from VA, MD, DE, SE PA, and NJ, once from TX
hello red and dodo
is there a way to search for a babbler without looking through all the rankings?
how many babblers usu show up for a babbler's bash?
I'd love to have a summer party here. it's such a quaint little town where we live, the smallest in the state
ADHD, there are so many people that live in your area I think you could do a get together up there quite easily.
it varies. We had 8 at our first one, 4 at our second. North NJ usually has 4-7. We're looking at 8-12 for the May one in Baltimore.
in England, it's been 2-5 so far
people usu bring tents to the parties; we've got woods and 2 clear acres to pitch a tent
yes, a Hartfordish meet-up would be a success i think
oh, nice!
how do i find a babbler who's not on my friend list yet?
I was really surprised when I did my work in NH how close all the states are...
search rankings usually. For whom are you looking?
bichon
yeah, when i lived in Boston, i was shocked to learn that people were taking classes at UMass Amherst, which turns out to be only 90 min away
easily findable with a search in the rankings
but there are so many people to look thru
open rankings and do ctrl+F then type bichon and search - it'll take you right to her, click on icon for profile
then add her to your friends to make it easier in the futur
DC, you are a computer whiz. Indeed.
tx dc. didn't know how to do search. brb
DC how are things going? My parents had a ton of flooding the other week...
today, i got regular maintenance on car, replaced the last wiper blade. Now, change bulbs in the fog lights, then i'll pass inspections and can renew plates. :)
well here, other than TONS of fallen BIG trees
minor flooding in Alexandria, VA and parts of DC
lots of work with the trees....the flood waters have subsided for my parents, they luckily live at the top of a hill...
oh, glad to hear that they're okay - dry basement and all?
Well, they have a dirt basement, I have never seen it, but I assume its OK.
heh. cool
its an old home.
is it VW bug day? ADHD has one and you do too?
my aunt has a part-dirt, part concrete basement. Dirt part dates from the 1876 house. Concrete part from the 1879 addition.
we both haven't changed from an antique car theme from a couple weeks ago.
Oh no, VW bugs are now considered antique?
well, our early 70 models are now
So...you and I are also now antiques.... :(
oh! the color is puCe, isn't it?
were you trying puSe?
i finally figured out the spelling of that color today, after being frustrated over my assumed spelling of it in several other grids
quite so, by automotive standards. And by the standards of what we grew up with compared to what we live with. I never imagined being able to easily, let alone affordably, chat with people from around the world
i was, red :">
yeah, me too, firefly, my hindbrain knew, but fore had forgotten.
I was thinking of that the other day..... How things have changed....
tx dc. ctrl F works, but to add to friends list, don't i have to wait till she's on line?
I mean, when I was 10 we had no cell phones, or microwaves, or internet....
she lives not far from me, right here in CT
maybe you do, i forget
ah, yes, as it happens in the who's online tab :)
you're right
i just hit halfway - i doubt i'll finish today, as i have evening plans and need to get dinner before.
I couldnt finish yesterday so I am going to try today....
bbl clues are on my profile... spread the word
coolio, thx
i've done all the biggies lately, so not going to sweat this one too much.
but I am taking a break now. I hope we did not upset Bugs....she left shortly after we were trying to explain the distance between Ct and DC. I never want to upset, but sometimes it seems I do....
taht su9 is bogus
be well red, and hopefully not :)
so, IMO, is the pr9, ty adhd
omg, i agree on the su9
hello, help with le6 pls
and now that i've found the pr9, it gets the same vote
peri - if you click on ADHD's profile, she has clues in there for lots of today's words, including i believe the one you want
ok
ty, that le6 word is a new one for me
me too
only 37 left, but i have to go :( oh well, close!
be well, firefly
thx, ditto
le6 is an amino acid
2 words left. I need the first p26 /24
pe that is
peter
vic, one who sells things, alt spelling
oopsy
ty dc
yvw
pr9 is a legit word, my Oxford Dictionary says so ;)
and my icon is one of its meanings
hello all
nobody here?
hi jillibus
Hi Jilli
hello joey -- how goes it?
hi sea spray
one day at a time.
yes, sigh!
good today, joey?
ok. i had PAT for surgery on Tuesday to remove the port. I am excited about that - it is a pain.
wow, just saw flooding in Minnesota
Oh good -- that will be a relief. mrp knows about that.
you watching news, seaspray?
trying to keep myself going while trying to deal with all the surrounding things of my mom's death is tough

joey lost mom 10yrs ago and it was like yesterday but managable
we lived together for the last 20 years. it is hard
always remember the hurt but it will fade to memories..and joey..best medicine is crying hard in the shower,if u need to
My Mom just lost her Mom (my Grandmother) last July, she was 99 1/2 and my Mom still took it very hard, you can never prepare yourself no matter how old you are
had she been ill, joey?
What IS the use of a book without any pictures or conversation?
Joanne, that is a good idea - the shower crying.
worked for me
paperweight
Oh- I have blundered into a grief conversation.

lots of music and showers there joey
My parents didn't make it to 80- in fact my mother was only 60...but it's not the age that is important, of course, it is the life you shared
yes kap
I find out things about a very remote grandfather who died in 1937- from the Internet.
bbig issues with hubbies family
one good one bad
He was prominent in theater in the early part of the 20th century. But this is not where this conversation is going, is it?
mother in law ok from breast cancer father in law..terminal
Yuck. Friend of mine newly diagnosed, very aggressive.
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
Oh Joey, what an awful way to start the year for you (((hugs))). Your Mum would have been such a comfort to you when you had your own health issues as well. I hope you can find some joy/peace in the upcoming months

Congrats Guernseygirl!!
Congratulations guernseygirl on fireworks!Way to go
Ha 4/9 everyone! Here is a story of clues. Some child stars are very cu 4/6! I thought that Eileen Quinlinn was su9/78 in the movie "Little Or6/24 Annie". Some are even cu 5/14 than cu 4/6 like Jonathan Lipnicki. But then again some grow up to be cr5/14s like Gary Coleman. He walked off the set of The Insider in a big hu 4/12 last week. Some actors fe4/7 like they need attention so they fe 4/8 the paparazzi w/their very bad behavior which adds fu 4/8 to the fire. Then the paparazzi ha4/6 on their behavior for days because they know people are unable to pe 4/5 their eyes off the television set if there is a story about an actor's behavior Some get into legal trouble and have to pay high fe4/7 which creates a huge up6/24 and fu 5/18 more rumors. Some actors are pe6/24 by rumors no matter what. Pr 6/24 William of Whales is harrassed by papparazzi as well. The paparazzi se 6/21s their target and goes right after them. Some stars do not even sl5/12 at night because of the paparazzi. Some stars have been su 4/5s and su 4/6 the paparazzi. I guess that's the pr 5/14 of fame. Some of actors dig themselves de 4/6 & make a fatal er 5/10 with drugs and then cr 5/20.However, some child stars refu4/8 to live life in the limelight. Some of them also el 5/12 to de 5/12 themselves from drugs. Some child actors turn out to be ni 4/5 people. Some stars are ni 5/12 than others. I don't know what el 4/4 to write about so my story is over. Now I am going to go ir 4/4 some clothes. I'll be back later to help with clues if needed.
BBL
thanks for the cheers. i don't think i'll be able to do it every day, it's taken hours.
Goodbye lynxxx! I'll see you later in the chog maybe.
Bye, everyone. enjoy the rest of the evening.
Goodbye guernseygirl!I'll see you tomorrow in the log

Hi redturtlehead! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
I am glad that my story of clues helped redturtlehead
Min?
that's a WORD????
Hi MLFAN17! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
fine thanks just read your story
Hello all again
i have a question
Hurshy, I have a feeling we ask ourselves that very question every day when we babble.Common thought
yes.
Hello jillibus! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Yes MLFAN17?
Hi Jilli. Did you get my email? Does it answer all? Some? Nothing?
ith expert and asking for the download forl licketys list they dsont put the words into licketys actual list just on the babble page right?
I have 45 left but have to go out soon for a little while
Yes, that is right MLFAN17
ah so lickety can go in but we would have to do it ourselves just curious
can someone clue the FE 7 please
got it gmere, and replied with more ideas, sort of :)
Okay jilli, We will have a great time however the day unfolds.
mlf, I don't quite understand your question, but if you have Expert the words you find automatically go to both lists
oh they go into lickety on the actual page where clues are .. himmm thinking that has never happened lol
OOPS I meant EF 7 clue please sorry
I'm doing some printing while I babble and my machine is on its last legs so I'm very nervous and have to watch it. I need 80 copies of a 2-page letter and am doing it by 10s.
mlf, you have to use the Lickety Add box.
i know:)
If you're using Expert you should have Lickety's list open at the side of the screen. I have mine open on the left, beside the grid.
i used to have it jill
need to get it again
did it disappear? Maybe you need to click on the little dots in the vertical yellow line to get it back.
no jill i had a virus in computer and we have nothign backed up so we had to start over
oh, I see.
jill do you have EF 7?
i am going ot go watch tv may see you all at flp POOF
Hi. How are the Babblers this evening?
A quiet bunch I see.
Sorry why, just focused on the grid. I should be a little more aware of what's going on.
Like spelling wht and not why. Hmmm maybe that has something to do with coming to a standstill on the grid.
lousy grid
I could have been more imaginative rather than just use my initals when I signed up. Then people would have other ways to misspell my name.
There have been worse grids.
Right, don't change now; we'd never know who you were! Yes, Temple Owl, a bit of a weird group of letters.
yes, thiseek
Hello all! Having a good afternnon, Mother?
I finally monkeyed th te6,24 for fireworks. Talk about a strange word.
Hi stidmama

okay LBD, we can tag team.
how about a le5/12
yay for first day of spring, forecast mid 70s and i'm working outside on the patio
it was 71 degrees here in NH today - unheard of in March
LE 5/12: an untouchable from the bible?
gee that seems awfully warm indeed!
we made it above 60, I am sure, tomorrow may hit 70 though. But not unusual for this time of year in the Puget Sound
it was just 73 here in Florida.
did you need a sweater, red?
huh. this grid is turning my brain inside out. dunno if i'll actually finish
did that help Mom, or do you need another?
expecting 65 tomorrow - glad as my son is doing the pond skim at the mountain
sad to say it did not
people with this illnes used to live in colonies and were considered "unclean"
okay, a person with a disease, it causes the skin to get hurt and then body parts fall off. LE + % (*** cent)
I was in Florida beginning of Feb and there was a frost - I think it was warmer at home
THis year was horrible for winter here Mom.
this has been a miserable florida winter
got it - thanks
yes, red was quite distressed at the cold in February
i was pretty whiney.
where are you in fl
I live close to Disney. But not in Disney thank goodness.
in in the tampa bay area
I was visiting in Lake Wales
Congratulations stidmama on fireworks!Good for you

thanks car, they have not decided yet if they will have the baby over there or not. In Quatar, they would receive complete free medical care plus a nanny for the baby's care when the parents are working.
Wowee!!!
'evening, folks
cr 6/21 please...the second one.
Hi Welki!
hi welki
gee Nancy, that seems like a real bonus if they have the baby over there, but still it's a long way away
hey welki
has anyone seen jmc?
car, like a fold in something but spelled a little different
C + r 4/4 + vowel
not recently welki
TY!
And the very last cr 5/12?
cr + iron ***
Yes, but the hassle of a 24 hour trip to the states being 9 months preggers is kind of a long haul and they would have to take the baby back over there since they will still be there for another year or so
TY again! Just 4 left!
go car go!!!
clue for the first pe6 please
Go car.eeyore go!
if they would even let her fly that close to a due date, Nancy.
sounds like someone who sells stuff from a cart
first pe 6 is like a person who goes door to door selling things
welki, you can ir** your clothes in the PB box tonight
i could, but i won't .. blame it on jet lag :)
that too. They don't have a place in the states so they would have to stay with relatives and that could really be a hassle
rofl Min! I hadn't even picked up on that!
would the baby have dual citizenship if born over there?
he or she would still be a citizen of the US which would be a good thing. not sure if dual or not.
where did you jet to/from welki? are you at home? or relaxing on a beach with cabana boys waiting on you?
Does su9 build off the su 5?
yes car
trip to see an ailing family member, stid ... definitely not a holiday
my son is the vp of the development of the middle east for a large engineering firm
Got it! Fireworks!
oh, I am sorry welki (((Hugs))) I wish it had been cabana boys...
Is that even a real word?
YAY car!
Sorry to hear that Welki....
he is making his millions so he can support his mother when she retires....heh, heh
wow! that's cool, Nancy -- but I bet it's a lot of work. I am glad tom and I are just ordinary drudges... LOL
thanks .. difficult and sad, but there were some decent belly laughs, too
As it should be Nancy! LOL!
true, I am sort of counting on one of my kids being just a little more ambitious...
Good Welki. Thoughts & prayers are with you...
<-- is thinking that Nancy might be planning an early retirement :)
I am glad you built some good memories alslo
I need to get some sleep. Hitting the ground running tomorrow and lots to do this weekend! Have a good one, y'all!
g'night folks ... thanks for the company (and clues i picked up along the way)

I thot Olympia somewhere since it was pretty central to everyone coming

you can take the ferry over the puget sound bugs
i took it the other direction for the worlds fair in 1986(?)
olympia's good for me... LOL! I could pick you up bugs if you didn't want to drive.
The ferry to/from pt angeles is least expensive I think.
re4 before recycle
I think I am picking up jilli and flosey and we will all go together. I don't know if they have any clear ideas. I am open to all of it.
I can't see my list... is it the re + 2.

Wait- again jmc????? For real? To do what?
what would you study jmc?
a masters in conflict resolution
*suddenly wide awake*
i may be too old though to make any use of it
Oooooh. That wd be right up your alley!
so i am undecided
I am sure it would be easy for you. Would it help financially or is it just for your own benefit?
there are some interesting programs though
i think it would allow me to do some work that i find interesting
there are those who know me who would not be so sure i would be good at it [smile]
I think if you enjoy "retooling" your career then you should. We geriatric grad students get a lot out of it
May I please have a clue for or5-12? Thanks

Hi
jmc..you can't be but a day over....hmmmm how shall we say....29?
good eve mi'Lady!
Hi Pav
Sweet dreams, jm.
hope you are all good
we are doing much better...after weeks of torture, I finally relented and removed the contraption the poopies didn't like - causing them to pee on my floor - and returned to the disposable pee pads on the rug. They've stopped peeing on the floor....
Nappies for them
i did consider that as well...
It wont hurt them is it an issue with them or a training issue?
it was a training issue....for me. I thought if I could substitute a less costly (in the long run) pee station, I could save $. They just love being spoilt and I love spoiling them , I guess...otherwise it wasn't a big issue...
Iam not saying you are a bad owner I mean sometimes animals get old and dribble
I resemble that...touche'!
How old are the poopies?
Precious is 6, or thereabouts, and Joey is approaching 5.
Still they are not too old to get into a pee routine
I got Precious from the owner/breeder because they said she "piddled" everytime they saw her...all she needed was more constant attention at that probleme went away...Joey was a shelter find, and I'll just say he wasn't trained properly to begin with. They do have routines and stick to them quite fiercely, esp Joey.
speaking of routines, it's time for Joey's last walk for the night...brb
Loves Pav. Good love to the poopies
May I please have a clue for pr6-27? Thanks
do you habe the royal son?
habe = have
Oh, I'm sorry....should have said pr6-27 the 2nd. Thanks
