boo to you, jaybo, what is your flag?
Hi ruby! Thought you weren't here. I have 56 so far :-)

I was here, left, and came back - that's like Eats Shoots and Leaves LOL
That's a great book (she says, carefully checking her apostrophes).
I haven't read it, just the review, and sent a copy to my unpunctuating son!

The warmer weather lifts the spirits, doesn't it - though we had a very hard frost yesterday morning.
it really does, sally, and the longer days. DST starts here this coming weekend (I think) but it is weird to have it different than in the US!
My daffs are about ready to open next to the wild primrose, planted by God, expressly to match the daffs!
I'm out of gas at 52 words, will try back later!

are you still there diann
Starts here this weekend as well. Our wild daffs are just about to flower, but I was surprised to find two in flower which had had their flowers nipped off. I thought possibly by a squirrel? We haven't had that before.
bye for now ruby
must go and put laundy on, back shortly.
yes, I now have 84 words
are the wild daffs incorrigible?
Good day to all.
I am finding this one slow going - up to 90 words
hello all
Hello
I just started and can see with these letters that it will get tough.
Did you finish, Lady?
lots plurals of words Scrabbler - when you get one it goesquick for a moment and then you have to hunt for a word to do it again
Nope
Hello, folks. .... nah not so difficult this one
Hi Bnabble
Hello, barrister
Is the snow gone yet, BR?
No, there still is some snow, but apparently there will be no major flooding
I saw that too, in the newspaper.
You must still have a bunch of snow, Scrabbler, as much as you get each winter?
Sorry Hi Babble
Will you explain for me the Rule in Shelley's Case, barrister?
There are still some large piles of snow--along the front of the house where it accumulates when it falls off my metal roof, and in the driveway where the plow pushes it into piles.
I think she is looking that one up, BR.
Could be
You talking to me?
Are you not to be a barrister?
no
Not I
My mistake, then. Please accept my apology.
No dramas. It would be American Case law not English
"...when the ancestor by any gift or conveyance takes an estate of freehold, and in the same gift or conveyance an estate is limited either mediately or immediately to his heirs in fee simple or in fee tail; that always in such cases, 'the heirs' are words of limitation of the estate, not words of purchase.
Very much British
Opps my Bad. Nope not heard if it having a squis
Lady, are you studying to be a paralegal?
It is called something different here. No Studying legal practice
Ok now I get it. It is a probate property law thing.
You can't hold a property for ever and a day. You have to leave property to someone. You have a limit 2 generations and 21 years
Haven't really studied Perpetuities
the rule against perpetuities is another rule that any real estate lawyer must know
In other words. I can't say when I die my house passes on to heir after heir after heir. You have to say It passes to heir and Heir then 21years. You can't hold the home forever and a day. It is up to the second heir to distribute the property.
the two are separate
I have just done Probate and Administration. It is a property law thing but we learnt it in PRobate as its a cross over thing
yes, you have learned well
Good. Does that make me a good Padawan?
could one of you Learned Persons help me out with the re 5/18? And good morniing!
I think the reason that it is both Property and Probate is that in Probate Estate comes into it
re + rub a *** *** three men in a tub
HI Jayk
Hello, Jayk
got it!
this took way too long for a short grid!
BabRab you are Real Estate Lawyer yes?
was a calming, almost enchanting grid
calming?
I have not practiced for over ten years... but yes, real estate, probate and commercial law
Any hoot why do you want to know about this Rule?
can you not tell how calm I am?
I was testing you, herin.
Ok good so was that a good answer?
yes, now that you point it out--i feel waves of calmness coming at me
You get a large smiley face
Good good. I have a test coming up on Probate. It isn't that hard if you actually think which seems a foreign concept for most of my class mates
and off to work!
By Jay
be well, Jayk
right got to go stick my nose in a conveyencing book
The longest slumber ever! A snail can sleep for three years, at a stretch.
be well, herin and good luck
I played my words in my other word games. How is the law testing going here?
Good morning Scrabs, how are you and the bunnies? and hello BR.

Oh but harp jane, let me say I heartily approve of your icon. and sure she can look at your toe.
My icon is for leprechaun day. it isnt my photo.
thanks crossy for the congrats! I find it interesteing as of today, 41% of Americans approve of the Health Care bill, or rather, LAW!
Two days ago it was considerably less
I think at least 20% are undecided or uninformed.
how many letters in the lower r words please?
let me guess, those that were of comfortable means were against it cause their taxes might go up
2
and 48% of our congress is uninformed.....
crossy, it isn't so much fear of taxes as "gov'mint shouldn't be telling me what to do...."
i remember when we had out o.h.i.p,we were in the same boat 65% of my income went to health insurance
i have 9 ru words from the bottom r
never mind that in the current health care system the ACTUARIAL tables have the power to cure our illness!
95!
people being able to walk into any hosp and get treated will cure your illness
lol
and people with no insurance go to EMERGENCY ROOMS right now for treatment when a $20 doctor visit would give them better care.....
like i say you will save money
not to mention people who retire and have to wait 24 months to get Medicare, yet they can only stay on their company insurance for 18 months....
a standard emerg visit costs 500 dollars on average
one of my friends put it very interestingly: if you drive a car, you are required to insure it. why do we think less of our own bodies?
well put eva.now everyone can have that perrogative
yup and a standard emerg visit is NOT the way to address something that needs thoughtful long term treatment
indeed
exactly, eva!
here our one health card covers it all, from after hours clinics,to normal doctor visits right up to ct,s and mris, at the big toronto hospitals
except in Montana nobody checks your car insurance unless you get pulled over for something else. then you get a CITATION, not a fine from the IRS!
clue for se 5/16

I find it really interesting to listen to the foreign press explanations of the health care fracas in the US; they have to begin with remedial explanations of why many americans cannot afford health care (unheard of in most countries.....)
well i am glad it is getting better for you
Blame Canada!
thank canada lol
no matter what my employment stratus,i never have to worry about getting my family health care if needed

Right, jaybo, it isn't.

good afternoon, Fellow Babblers. Is anyone else having problems with the tile stats box not registering your words? I have 14 words in my word stat column, but the word stats box only shows 6; even after refreshing

You know the Latin green prefix
I was going in that direction, but the words didn't make much sense or I couldn't get the right points

BYE CROSS!!! *WAVES*
hello everyone else. or whoever is here! LOL
hagd, crossy!
how's the grid?
Hello stid
Bye Crossy
hey guernsey (as in actually on the island?)
Hiya Stid. It's okay.
I'm just starting myself, stid, so I'm not sure yet
seems qute good to me. no born there but now elsewhere
brb, tea kettle...
ah, I see -- Midlands. landlocked!
how are you doing Nef? is your husband staying off ladders?
Yes. i just couldn't find a house with a sea view
water views are expensive!
That was the main problem. lol
stid, hubby never goes on ladders. He falls without reason (he has MS and is doing very poorly now without his meds. We -still considered *middle class*! -can't afford the specific MS injections this year due to health insurance changes this year!
That's just awful Nef!
oh gee Nef --- I remembered he had fallen recently but thought he had been on a ladder. I am sorry our helath care sux and you can't get him the meds he needs.
gd evening everybody. That is terrible, nef!
I'm so sorry Nef
hey ruby.
we were very lucky to buy a house here when we did because now it would be double the price
yep. Our health insurance policy is $200/ month MORE this year, plus the one med went from $20 to $200/month.
hi stidmama
Heya Rubyfoo!
we have no health insurance, just hoping for the best
hi hi hego!!!
your promised spring arrived and I am feeling much happier
flowers! sunshine!
(((Nef)))
Ruby is on the lac! I'm jealous.
hi ruby, nef, hego, and ruby!
{{nef}}
hi robbie
lac? lake?
Glad to hear Rube!
that was a cuddle/hug, neg
because we are *considered* middle class, we don't qualify for any assistance or aid. Funny thing, we are just getting by. :-( And people think that this health care bill isn't necessary!
nef*
I love flowers and sunshine... it will probably be a record high day today. It is sunny, with high wispy clouds (system will move in soon)
looking out at lac d'Annecy!
oh dear..sorry to hear that nef
unfortunately, they're predicting snow on the weekend
Nef in order to get great health care in US, you most be rich or Poor.
I have concerns for our older son who has mild conditions that usually don't affect him but as he ages the wear and tear on his joints will mean he needs medical interventions more and more
man, the em's are kicking my behind
Thanks. I shouldn't have spewed here. I'll shut up now
Working stiffs don't have a chance, it seems.
i was talking about the health bill with friends over here and we couldn't understand why people wouldn't want it. but we have the NHS
bah. pas de neige! *stern mama look at clouds*
what's the temperature there stid?
but health care is excellent in Canada, n'est-ce pas?
oops. not in Canada anymore. and yes, it is, ruby -- but I am U.S.
we pay cash and hope for the best!
Stid chases all niege away!
ahah. The flag had me fooled for a moment
somebody has to, maybe your angel, hego
temp at the moment is about 18, (about 60). will get close to 25 (maybe 30), the prediction for Seattle is 70.
nevermind...now for the last one...se 5/16
just a sec, will put flag back to U.S.
I truly believe that the Canadian system is terrific. I hope we come up with something that good here
I'm trying to grow moss on the rocks around my tulips but it is so dry that I have to spritz the patches several times a day.
miz: low growing flower/succulent
I will talk to angels Ruby.
isn't that like a liquid medicine they put in your blood, Miz?
lol ruby that's dedication!
se + da***
oh. thanks for that ruby!
but I love the look and variety of moss and the rocks were raw-looking
ruby, paint the rocks green... moss doesn't grow in full sun even around here. *standing in center of the moss capital of the world*
that temp is warmer than us..it's only 48 here
I love rock gardens ruby
I did it sort of successfully around another flower bed, my "Japanese" garden (3 tiny J. maples and azaleas, but it's very hard to get them to "take"
that's the se 14
there are some lovely trailing groundcovers that look like mosses that do well in sun however, ruby -- do you want me to see if I can find the name of that family?
FM is going to teach me how to change my icon and then I can put on photos of my garden.
Love to see them, Ruby.
I would love garden pics. My garden is calling me, but I decided to get to halfway, then study (read) for an hour, and THEN go play outside.
not getting those clues
se + opp of smart - b
It's cool enough here and the sun is not all day, that it's possible to grow it. It's definitely worth the trouble after all, what else do I have to do....lol?
lol stid....well here we have a constantl battle with moss growing between our bricks
it's 54 here in MN right now. We have hazy skies, though
monkeyed it!
thanks everyone! Fireworks!
54 seems reasonable for the time of year NEf.
YAY MIZ!
wtg miz!
(what was the word?)
I think we're all pretty close in temps -- 45 - 60's, even though we're all over the world!
se 5/16 - se + stupid - last letter
unfortunately, my grid score is the usual poopy half!
ah, thanks Miz.
I have those in my garden, sort of a dull salmon/mauve
lol ruby
well... halfway isn't BAD, it's just a number. Right?
rude
OOOPS! Sorry!
I am halfway, and would like a U word so I have NBT...
Right, Stid!
NEF? *points to PB and puts in lovely choclits from Canada*
does the PB have cookies?..lol
ur** major
I have limited the colors in the garden to all shades of pink, rose, salmon, purple, blue and red. Except for the daffs which are just opening with God's planting of primroses in the same color. Once they're finished, the rest will be lovely
u is the bear word Stid
gah. fishy bear babblet! thanks jessmom and hego!
I really NEED the cholits today; didn't intentionally put WORD in chat, but it helped!... ;-)
wow..we have no flowers in our garden yet!
yw
nef could nefer be ru**!!
sounds gorgeous, ruby. I have a double japanese kerria blooking now under/in the chestnut tree... it's supposed to be under, but the tree is only about 8 years old, so still small!
which is OK because I think it is to snow again here!..lol
the hiacinths and grape hiacinths just started, but the yellow stuff is all on the other side of the house
hi everyone!!!
No Robin, no!
I have to look that up.
Hi Luw
I need a cookie. brb.
okay, with NBT and halfway, I am determined to get halfway through this book I am dreading as well. (((hugs all))) I hope you are all going to have a lovely day/evening. Nef, I am putting your hubby to the top of my "list" (am assuming your doc has contacted the drug company to see if you can get a discount?)
I hope not ,but the forecast says our temp is going back down :-(
there is a decorative Japanese quince which was here when we bought the house but, unfortunately, it is invisible unless you go hunting for it. The good news (??) is that it's next to the two dog graves.... :(
hey Luwanda! (((Hugs))) haven't seen you in ages, sorry I can't stay to chat a while. back later. *choclits* *poof*
my daffs are about ready to bloom
nice to see you stid..congrats on NBT
well, at least our trees have buds..but that's it her in upstate NY
Binghamton had the least amount of spring of any place!
My grandson and I just planted starts for sunflowers and planted heirloom seeds from my great great grandmother's beans. THey hae been in the family for over 100 years. I thought the seeds were lost but my cousin had some i her freezer and gave them to me.
that is lovely luwanda. Did you know that in Norway they have an underground seed bank with every kind of seed from all over the world?
that is awesome luwanda!..my grandmother had lots of sunflowers
I'm going to keep most for seeds to get them started again for family. THeir beginning to srpout.
I had read about that.
what kind of beans?
I saw that on TV ruby..glad there is a seed bank
what I cannot do is grow vegetables. I keep trying, but they are never any good except for the radishes.
my hubby wants to grow peppers..I don't know..they need a lot of watering
They're a type of green bean. They have a larger bean that's brownish. Dried they have a speckled husk
I tried to grow hot peppers here, but there wasn't enough sun that year and I never got one.
My great grandmother alway called them fall beans
Do any of you grow soy beans?
Udamame?
I don't have much sun on our acre (50 trees)
A lot of fruit?
my dad is a soy bean farmer
awesome luwanda
no kidding! Do you eat steamed soy beans?
was, he just started leasing the farm.
he farmed until 81
50...that is a lot of trees!
Fireworks, hooray

bye hego and ruby
GREW!
I learned to eat them, steamed, in sushi bars
why isn't vespa a word?
Proper noun, Rube.
On the farm it was just a cash crop. We did eat a lot garden stuff. I used to collect wild greens with my grandma
:(
My glasses just fell apart, I tried to mend them with super glue and managed to smear super glue on the inner side of the lens now. (can't see anything close up. Should have left it for someone else -who could see- to fix!
oh nef!
fingernail polish remover? I might hurt the lens tho
at least you didn't glue your fingers together!
Oh,poor Neffie. :0(
i used it when i got some on my fingers
good luck nef
nail polish remover might take it off.
is ve7 an extension of ve4?
I've been in need of a vision check lately; guess this will force me to do that now.
(hi all )
but are the lenses glass or plastic?
no Harry
ty hego
think green growing stuff
I have plastic lenses. Do you think the polish remover would ruin the lens? I'll try a tiny amount first
got it

ty
GO, Harry! You can do it!!!!

Harry, there really is. I only had 2, but they were ADHD and on the go and up to something all of the time. I worked off-shifts while DH worked the 9-5 job; They are both delightful (but still ADHD as adults. And my grandson is wonderful!
did you guys get through teh teenage years with all your sanity int***?
NO!
heh - everybody warns me that it's much worse than having babies
nope. But family conselling helped! ;-)
My son survived middle school without me killing him - barely. If there had been one mother on the jury I would have gotten off with justifiable homicide
oh dear
well i've gotta go before I lose all hope.
bye!
it wasn't that bad! just walking hormones - he's a great adult
my son got into trouble with the lawat 18. Ended up with a felony charge (property damage) which still hangs over his head at age 30
ouch. mine was just mouthy and thought he knew everything
he's a great adult now
he's wroking on his 2nd degree
that would have been a lot more tolerable, Lu
yep, he was so bright. he thought he knew everything
i do appreciate my children
and since he's working on a second degree, he must have some smarts, right? (my son was and is smart; but he didn't realize that stupid actions were bad
I was lucky that way. so many young people make stupid mistakes without thinking about the consewuence or the severity of their actions
howdy babble buds!
that doesn't make them bad
Hey ADHD
hi adhd
that's wwhat happened to my son: doing something stupid without thinking of consequences
Hi ADHD
i'm done with the grid, but left a bunch of clues in my profile
thanks ADHD

I don't have any grandkids, and as my kids are 19, 18 and 15- I am in no hurry to have any. LOL
you have time
i enjoyed my kids at that age!!!
the teens can be trying but fun
They are great. But there are loads and loads of hormones flying round this house!
you definitely need a guardian anggel at that age
and an extra dose of patience
I keep telling them that I will match them, hormone for hormone, once I hit the menopause!
unfair - they don;t get hot flashes!!!
Too true! Lol
and they keep their eyesight!!!
My eyesight is fine. Its just my arms seem to have got shorter - I have to hold books and newspapers at full stretch now...???
it's the bad print! my arms have wings!
Gotta go, Lu. Nice chatting. See you soon
clue for le7/36. what on earth goes between the le animal word and its plural???
Add a vowel to the end of the animal, Vici
Oh, and then plural it.

hey Katie!!! (((hugs))) I am completely unmotivated today too -- didn't get to sleep in, so continuing with the sleep-short theme of the week.
hi again.
hey again Nef, was just realizing the time... have to head out to Mother's for coffee before I pick up the kiddo from school.
((((stid)))) lack of sleep is awful hope things settle down soon
Any clues for the bottom row R, please?

I found one! re5/12! :-)

I have that one Mooch --from the other R
also plural of people who regret something ru5/12
sorry
it's okay.
THANKS! I'd tried that before and it wouldn't take it

off to do some work, bbl (I hope) x
ty
Hello all :)
hi NB. I'm supposed to be doing something; but I'm Babbling instead
Oh dear Nef...what are you supposed to be doing?
housework! :-) DH went to a former co-workers' retirement party and I thought I'd get some *real* housework done today!
no such luck (I'm too involved to quit right now)
and yet babble's suckered you in ;) it's alright around here, I actually got up at a reasonable time for once and did some cleaning
I even wore an APRON
Oh, Man! You can come do some for me!! <hoping!>
LOL Nef. Sure, I'll just...swim there ;)
okay, swim across the Atlantic, then through the Carribean to the gulf, then up the Mississippi and I'll meet you by lock #1! :-)
(easy directions, huh)
LOL
my sense of direction is poor...I'd end up in Mexico
though I don't know how exactly
you probably need the sun you'd get there
well actually, it's not been so bad here today...if we had a garden I'd have been out in it. When it hits summer, I'll stand under the leak in the ceiling to cool down
oh, MY! That doesn't sound good! The ceiling may fall in!
welllll, it's only when it rains! we're hopeless optimists in this flat, by the way. We're too poor to live in London without rattly windows and ceiling leaks ;)
(lots of the time the leak can be "fixed" by going up to the roof and putting one of the plant pots over the little crack)
Hello boys and gir;s
girls
Hiya, Kap!
How are things in Babbleland?
I have 15 left- maybe I'll come back and find a list later
I'm not finding this grid so agreeable, actually. I swear most of the time I come onto babble just to chat
Most of the action is in the lower right- but not all
hi everyone. I dont know why but a visit to the Physician always leaves me drained.
Hi Kaplan. Sorry NB, I had a phone call there.. I'm glad you are hopeless optimists; but that would worry me to have a leaking ceiling
hi red
Hey Red. I know exactly what you mean. The optician, however, I enjoy.
Leaking ceiling would be alright, unless something falls through the ceiling... I am so so tired.
No problem Nef :) well, we'll get it fixed one day, don't worry about us ;)
red, what did they do to you? a regular doctors appt. drained you that much?
wow. Down to 36 and I can't see any more words at all.
OK I'm back. Is ther e a Lickety today?
yep, Kaplan, just opened it myself
OK I'll try it for my last 15 because I'm stumped
I was too.
brum
OOPS! Sorry
perilously close to the pb nef
I tried Brum too...that's what a person from Birmingham is called; it should be a word!
true, but *not* quite there yet (Besides, I ate most of the choclit there earlier; I'll have to replace it now)
NB, add a vowel
hi all
oooh. ta!
Hi TNC. Haven't seen you for a while!
I pop in now and again, life is busy!
I know. For some reason it never slows down, just goes faster and faster
especially with two little ones, volunteering at school, being the girl scout leader, the PTO vp, and working part time
today is a rare break
how did that happen? (Maybe you can plan a few more???)
the little guy is at a friends house, the big girl is at school and it is a latae start for me for work today, since we are slow right now
I'm trying!
Good for you! Enjoy! :-)
thank you!
BBL, gotta do a little work now. Happy Babbling, everybody!
enjoy!
sav e
I have 5 left. Help with the first de5 and the second de6- the one that doesn't mean reserved?
no help, here, sorry! I need both of those, also
I got them- they're like the reserved one but withpout the last vowel
great, thanks for sharing!
The last le6?
I have no le words, sorry
There are a lot of variations on an animal, but I don't know if the one I need is another one
br5/18 then?
I got the first three animal ones
le6 an anagram of the el6.24
br 5/18 is a different spelling of what you sweep with
Thank you
you are welcome!
thanks, lynxxx got a bunch from that
The last le6/24 and bu5/18?
le 6/24 is a plural
there is no bu 5/18
bu5/16
in 6/21
I still don't get the le6.
do you have the le 4/6? plural that
le6 ends like el6.24
the last bu 5/16 rhymes with what women carry
the second to last one just changes the ending vowel
Thank you
The SECOND to last 5u5 I mean.
Bu5
in6.21 means whole or not broken
Evening all. I have 30 left!
hi Red
second to last bu516 for fireworks please
thanks, lynxxx, I knew as soon as some one clued it I woul d slap my forehead!
Hi red
hi, red! 17 here
How many words today?
see clue at 4:15, kap
110 gottha
GOT IT. Fireworks!
110, godthaab
Its a bit like pulling teeth here at the end. Congrats Kaplan.
Congrats Kap
Thanks.
yay - good fo ryou!
yeah- the end is aggravating. I hung out early in the day and got some good clues from the chog, or I wouldn't have made it
Any odd CW ords today?
are any of you into the kenken puzzles?
13 left
what are they dromano?
no red
26 now.
I guess not Droman... on the puzzles. Never heard of them.
TY WIld.
6, all at the end of the alphabet ;)
2
go, lynxxx, go!
1 left
That was a real monkeying grid, lots of silly little du** words
woot - got it! congrats to you, too, lynxx
Congrats Tea!
thanks! I'm off to work now - enjoy!
Bye. And Bye all from me too
returtlehead, if you like number puzzles, it is great. simple math problems in a grid and only one of each number in a column....go to kenken.com.....i just found it and love them
hate math. But someone will probably love them! THanks for the info....
i adore kenken.
and thanks Lynnx, I needed that Du** word.
only the big ones, though. even the 7's are starting to feel ... almost too easy.
unlike the L's in this grid.
I gotta admit, I feel like I have enough with Babble and keeping up on my scramble games....
I have 8 L's I think the last three are obviously awful!!!
i only have 6
lots of Lu's for me.
Mostly 4's words I did not think were words.
i have 3 le...
ah, thanks, that gave me two more LU
we should combine Hursh. I think we'd have them all then...
I only have 2 le, the monkeys
the other one sounds like bawdy which there is also the lu that sounds the same
Ok thanks, I now have 3 le words.
oh, and i'd missed a simple past tense. so now we are both up to 9.
hi all
ugh, i have 9 words left and 4 of them are 7's.
yes, 9/11 the last two must be atrocious, if neither of us highly intelligetn peopels can figure it out...lol
aha, monkeyed a trio of e's 6-7-7
I keep attempting brule, like creme brule. is it brulee or just not english!
that's much better.
the em's?
hello JMCrick!
it's brulee although i don't know if that would count either
yes, em's
jmc how aare you?
I apologize my spelling is getting worse.
you make feel like jimminy cricket red!
there are only 3 br words, fyi.
well I have 10 of the l's ...
how so jmc.
ooh wildcat, do tell
Wild, I want to combine with you then!
TY hursh, I shall be looking.
4 le and 6 lu
JMCrick!
another le!
what's with the surly guy icon red
5 le?
no i meant red and i only had 3 le before so now we know there are 4. maybe 5 but we don't know.
It was leprechaun icon day today, and I always found them a bit spooky. But I may be the only participant....so it looks odd.
we will be looking for le's
ah that is sure not the cheerful leprechaun of the commercial world
no, i wanted to be a bit original, but...being that I am the only one...it does seem odd.
i always found the drawings of the cute buggers did not jive with the stories for me either
i am sure others did it red but i am enraptured by my cape
*swoooosh*
I like your cape too. and it was time to get rid of the flower.
aha, got that fourth le
a 6 letter pl of the 4, i guess
hursh, help me! maybe jus tthe stats on it...
i feel all empowered in my world saving!
*swooosh*
jmc, you are funny!
why isn't lumbre a nice british spelling for lumber?
ty hursh
i was informed that they say timber rather than lumber
wait, why are you thanking me?
ahhhh odd, thanks hursh. now 10/11
oh no it was wildcat, not you, that said 4 le, i see.
for the es plural
and timbre is a word, just doesnt mean the same thing.
no they say timber
timbre is a muscial reference3, is it not?
but what about lumbering around? as in moving like a big oaf? don't they say that? and it could be lumbre, lumbring, etc
it is Bojazz! Gold star for bojazz...
how are you Bo.
i need all the gold stars i can garner :)
well i didn't ask them about lumbering around -- i was hrrying ot get nbt
you and me both.
anybody have all the C's?
just got home from daily labors, doing good, thax - and you red, & jmc?
& hurshy?
why yes, hurshy, i have all the c's.
i have 5/6 c's
i got all the c"s
I do hursh
an unlikely pl that i thought i had tried before was my last C.
Ahhh, now I have all the C's.
does anyone have all the M's?
no, i meant D's, D's is what i meant.
me do
my left half is all done....now for the right half.
i have the M's.
11/15 D's
maybe there's an re7
i'm down to 10 & the em's are completely elusive
em + homonym for witches' thing they stir in a cauldron
I need another V
and pl and pt
va4, ve4, ve7
no re7
ty
no re7 :( ok then there's either a D7 or an L7
thx hurshy
there is an l7/36
thank you!!!
same kind of odd plural as the 6, but on the animal
no d7
sorry I am still at work and had to make like a boss for a while
now just one little D4 and i'll be DONE which is fittingly a D4!
WHoo hoo, no more L words....almost no more 7.
crack the whip!!
no no this is a peace place -- no whips!
i still have 19 left, as is oftne the case I am distracted by Phineas and ferb on TV.
67 left :-(
well jmc, you could be like Biden and drop the F bomb...instead.
7 left
19....
go Bo Go JMC and Go Hursh for the 1 D left!
why did he do that, exactly?
2
the F bomb? you mean like "you effen bastard?"
aHA! done!
congrats hurshy!!!
whoo hooo hursh
he said to obama that the health care bill was a big effen deal - somewhere audible, presumably, or we wouldn't know about it.
I do jmc, just poking at little fun at Biden...
i only read it online, i haven't seen/heard the clip
ah -- well one of the many reasons i don't run for office
yes, hursh, he was uaware that a mic was on.
missing le6/24 - a clue pls?
i swear like a sailor (as my former naval officer employee jokes)
monkeys bojazz.
you're a politician. always assume there's a mic on.
Well, you know Biden....It could have been worse.
thx red
Apparently Dick Cheney also used the F bomb in reference to a person in senate at one point in time...
never a good plan
i guess. i mean the content of his thought was not like, saying anything about anybody, so, i guess really it's not a f***ing big deal!
lol hursh
No, I thought Hurshy that it was just funny....especially when it made the news more prominently than anything newsworthy.
fireflies
whoo hooo wild
i just can't believe the people who have spat on senators and used racial epithets and mocked a random guy with parkinson's...
COngratulations WILDCAT!!!!!! WHOOOOO HOOOOOO
and with all the talk about states' rights... i feel like the hot tub time machine has taken us all back 150 years!
i personally think the senators should have brought assault charges -- in these days of AIDs being transmitted with body fluids. . . .
only about 50 years hursh
The funny thing is that...I think in 20 years time or less, this will be something that people don't even talk about, they will just assume it was always that way...
did they talk about states' rights a lot then? i thought that was just a civil war thing, not civil rights mvmt.
definitely was a part of the civil rights movement.
the guys who stood in front of the school houses were states rights activists -- think George Wallace
I only know it hursh because I got to study the civil right movement for one entire year in my jr year of school.
state's rights was in issue in the 50's over here
ty
in any case, states' rights seems to be code for we want the right to deny rights to some people in our state!
17 left, must go get food out of the oven.
(though i know that many people, even those who support health care reform, would not call health care a right.)
I have made steak pinwheels with spinach and provolone, will serve it up in the PB in about oh 6 minutes.
sounds delish
i'll bring a bottle of the red grape
i think help care is a right because we believe life is a right and health care is what makes that a possibility
why the pb? *reads red's post*
well *i* agree but i'm just acknowledging that not everyone does.
:-)
where else can we serve food....the PB has all the linen and the cabana boys can be servers.
I wish I had made asparagus too.
true true
mmm, asparagus
*looks in the pb cabinets for wine*
bo jazz is bringing wine...
it is an Austrailian Shiraz
good stuff :)
Oh I will get out the crystal then!
5 to go - all D's
still at 17... multiple letters...
go red go
go bo go
15 now...
i misunderstood i though bo was bringing grape juice
bo only drinks fermented grape juice, jmc
grape juice for me is perfect...
ok red, i'll cover that too
ah -- i drink either fermented or not
i need buy a steak for supper
mmmmm steak
*heads for store to get juice*
its ok Bo, I am sure there is something in the PB.
And water is good too!
do we have that Irish linen for the PB?
11 left. I the el words were el***ing me.
clue for bu5/16.....i have the tennis elbow and the european stock market.
there are 5 DE's el***ing me
scorch something it is bu***
ty bo.....i guess i don't do that often enough to think of that word.
redheaded turtle. I will make it to the pb and hope to have some of the steak pinwheels. Acutally, I have some washed spinach in the frig. Inspiration for dinner!
I only have 107 left! Just got on the grid.
all are welcome Stig! I can offer some fresh strawberries as they are at almost peak season ehre in FLorida.
I'll whip some cream and make short breads for the berries.
Oh wow, what a meal we shall have!
Why be in the pb if there are no perks?
I do wish someone would drop one of my needed 9 words though.
OK- all this delicious thinking has got me going - stomach is now shoutinngpleading for sustenance - got to go fix salad!! :)
the wafting smell of dinner should be tempting.
( - don't have any 9's today????
I had salad for lunch and my husband accused me of starving him. If stidmama hadn't come by with biscotti, I should never had heard the end of it.
No 9s.
no no I had 9 left, but its 8 now. I may finish this grid without lickety how odd!!!
Mama to rescue the starving!
back *sigh* i may need to leave the office before i babble
STRAWBERRIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
welcome back jmc!
7
go red go!
47 left
go jmc! you forget to mention the boss-y things you have also achieved. I have achieved nada today.

i am listening to a newbie staff give advice over the hotline
oh oh i found a 7!
I am missing a p word
that is very important jmc.
do you have the ps word that sort of means fake.... or pretend.

FIREWORKS!!! it's more than a week since i got finished!!!!
Good for you bojazz!
congrats Bo Jazzz!
YAY Bo!
Hello Mother! hello all!
thanx for clues - got a lot from the chog - wouldn't be here without your help :)
Hi mama.
rofl... that is weird, to have you call me "mama" *grin* "stid" works too...
ty for the ps word that was the one
hey jmc! so is Aug 21 "for sure"
stiddie!
sure why not
hi all -- can someone put out a clue for that ps work that a first grader would understand?
i wrote in pencil on my calendar
KNITTER!!!! :-D
hi stid long time no see
don't step on my blue ps***e shoes
knitter, start of a word that means "fake"
but misspell it
well that did it ty. guess i am not smarter than a 5th grader tonight
okay, Mother, we are aiming for Aug 21. jmc, do you want us to figure out a space to meet in? Flo and Jill and raelite and Bugs... And you and pini, and whoever else wanders by...
go knitter go!
JMC, where are you going on August 21?
out west?
i am picking up pini and meeting flosey and some others at stiddies
brb phone
and if you want to come, red, you are very welcome! but I know transportation might be an issue...
down to 27 listless. Should I list now or keep trying a little longer? Maybe I'll wait until 9:30 to list...
there is a list?
stidkid#2 and I are watching Victor Borge (recorded) special from last night. He was so very very funny
yes, list is working today
victor borge is funny and a very brave man
he tweaked the nazi noses so much he had to run for his life from denmark
he was a wonderful man. what a gift to the world!
okie-doke i am hitting the dusty trail to home
maybe the store first for a steak
happy trails tooooo yoooooooo
okie dokie jmc. (((hugs))) see you later!
until we meet again. . . . .
hello, babblers (hi/bye, jmc)
everybody sing
the stars will shine and then. . . .
*poof*
hey welki!
why am i always left behind to sweep up the poof dust --- sweep sweep
*holds dustpan for knitter*
ty siddie, always ready to lend a hand
Ps popped!
Just away for a little. Flashlight is giving us highly technological problems.
oh oh, is Dad still under the house?
hmmm dad under the house hmmmm
*looks around for tornado to lift house* *cackle*
versa
oops
he's trying to fix an outside spigot that cracked for some reason
did it work knitter?
adly it isnt a word ak...I tried it severa times today!
No, he is fixing the flashlight that was going out. Faucet fixed.
bummer. but it led me to a ve 7!
hello all
I have a photo questions?
good! glad the faucet is fixed!
hey peri!
quest away... though answers may be sparse
hi peri.
Hi, peri. What type of photo?
sigh no
a friend took a picture of me that I want to put as my icon. the picture is in my e-mail. not sure how to get it adobe/photoshop
you have a pc?
pc? or mac?
try right click on the photo, and "Save as" peri
lol
save the photo/file onto your desktop .. save as:
whoo! we're all in tune :)
oooh. Ms mastered! down to 20!
pc
will do thanks, bbs
oh phhhht i have just started
rofl... that one is funny all the time. He starts to play the intro for the soprano, and when she sings out, he falls off the bench!
i have mastered nothing
Bs boxed!
go knitter go! *holds out pretty buttons from canada at finish line...*
oooop shiny
i love buttons
fireworks.
actually, I am not sure I got enough. Still have to grab the sweater that wants its buttons replaced!
YAY red!
sadly i used lickety for my last 5.
woo hoo red
why is that sad?
hello everyone and congrats to red!!!
you finished!!!! *sound of champagne being opened*
I was hoping to be likety-less
hey annie!
Hi Annie!
pop
hi red and stid!
well, we have to be lickety-less often enough, I wouldn't worry too much. I shall list at 5 also, if that would help?
*giggle* now Victor pulls out a seatbelt from the piano bench...
Victor Borge is hilarious
well i right clicked on the picture, but *save as* was not one of the options
yes, we are enjoying his playing while the stidkid does some homework
what options does it give you peri?
try making your email a little smaller and then drag the file icon onto your desktop
wait, I will try something else, bbs
got the last V... it wasn't a subject or an adjective. *sigh* a fish for an English teacher.
down to 15
cobblers' sons go without shoes :)
yep. and my kids don't talk none too good, neither
yesterday, you wanted to be an english teacher and today, you am one. *lol*
*sigh* oh well... actually I want to teach history. but English is part of the "humanities" that a middle school teacher is expected to be able to "do"
okay, next up is the phonetic punctuation. I first heard this in high school, on a (vinyl) record. It's the BEST!
Why isn'
't vedle a word? i THINK IT HAS to do with weaving and is a very useful tool.
why isn't what, mother?
okay I have the picture saved to my desktop, now what, pls?
heddle, Mother?
from that place, peri, you should be able to do "copy-paste" into your picture editing probgra,
go to "my account" and edit your icon ... you'll choose "browse my computer," select the file from your desktop files and upload it
down to 11....
is it a huge file? if it's small, you probably won't need to resize it
hi all. is it a tough grid?
I was thinking peri might need to crop the pic to get it to square?
hey mkg. challenging a bit, but not horrible
ok, will try that, ty
need clues for those 7s for sure.
*nudges stid* we'll find out if she needs to crop it soon enough
that's tr4, welki!
checking
oh oh, "spicy bug" in the house. Lucky likes to eat them, but I think he is slightly allergic. I shall have to shoo it out of the house. back soon.
again
I did everything right, and refreshed and it did not work :(
peri! is that you??? with glasses? and a blue jean-jacket?
yes that is me!!
it's in your profile, if it is...
WOO-HOO!!! Now there is a face for your name! :-D
HA! You are EXACTLY as i pictured you!
ok, I can't see it
and you smell like lemons!
how come I can't see it here
refresh your browser
I didn't have a picture, ever since peri talked about being a mall mascot for Easter one year I have pictured her with rabbit ears!
my brain works strangely.... now I shall picture peri more accurately.
this is exactly what i needed today, folks .. my step-dad passed away this morning. i was with him all last week, yesterday was his birthday ... and here i am, 3,000 miles away. distraction is medicine
I still see the periwinkle in my profile
DS done!!!!!
and here in the chog
oh welki... (((Hugs and hugs and hugs))) I am so sorry.
maybe log off and log back on
I am sorry to hear that welki, my heart goes out to you.
you want to come throw the artichoke for Lucky? he is whining in the background.
sorry to hear that welki
{{{curly hugs for joey}}} hey there! how are you? how was your trip?
part of me feels like a turd for playing a game, but it's better than moping around i think
thanks, stid. ok. record lows in florida while i was there. had surgery yesterday and am just moping around until i can drive again
ok, I logged out and am back again
I give up, I still see the flower
and? are you gazing at yourself?
welki, the only thing you MUST do right now is take care of yourself. And if playing a game helps, then play a game. If taking a warm bubble bath helps, then do that. And if you need to cry, or talk, or whatever, do those things.
oh joey -- no idea you were up for surgery! *worried mama look* do you have help at home so you don't overdo?
maythis time
and we are here if "chogging" helps.
nope, no one here cept me and the cat. but i am ok.
peri .. might be easier if you were just to reboot your computer (instead of closing/opening browser and getting frustrated if icon hasn't changed)
nope still see the flower, yes I will rebooot, brb
okay, well... *stern mama look* be careful.
Hi everyone. I am so sorry about your step-Dad welki
*pairs up with joey for girls' night*
... and glad your surgery went well Joey
sounds like a deal to me welki. are you going to be able to go to the funeral
hey Bugs! wasn't it lovely the last couple of days? So sorry we had to visit when you weren't available.
thanks for the condolences everyone .. i told myself i wasn't going to broadcast, but yet i did
thanks bugsaw.
Hi to stid as well!
there isn't going to be a service, so no. and i just got back less than a week ago ... i don't think i'll be able to make another trip
We are definately having good weather now stid, I just wish your break was the same week that ours was. I am glad you had fun with Jilli and the floseys
cute icon, bugs!
Mother has loaded the pics she took to her computer, let me see if she sent any to me. I was having so much fun that I kept forgetting to pull out my camera!
maybe now
nope, still the flower, I give up
peri, I can see you. just a sec...
bbl
time for me to sign off ... will 'see' you good people later *poof*
Welki...{{{hugs}}}
(((welki))) take care. see you soon.
em6 please?
one more try
I really give up now. for those of you who can see me in my icon, what do you think of my glasses?
em + different spelling of what is in a witche's cauldron
got it.
I even shut off my computer and then turned it back on and it did not help. think this happened before and it may show up later
okay, new pic up -- Bugs, if you're still here this is what we looked like on Monday!
thanks for the EM words!
down to 4! (still listless -- that was the first clue)
May I have a clue for the second i word? I have in 6/21
nice picture, stid.
I can now see me in my profile, the pictuer is a little squished
thanks peri. it doesn't show in the chog, but at least you can "
you can "see" us.
in 6 27 please?
in6/27 hillbilly love
the eye glass frames are new and tottaly different than the ones I had befoer

later, car!
well I don't know what the old glasses looked like, but the new ones seem to suit your face well.
later car! be well!
bye, car.
thank you stid. I got them last week and am still getting used to them
oh oh, stidkid#2 isn't feeling well... this does NOT bode well.
I would have gotten periwinkle frames but they did not come in that colorn:o)
I really really need to see the eye doc and get new glasses, but putting it off as long as possible. I will have to pay for both the visit and everything else out of pocket.
ty ty ty. want a true story about that?
*pulls out paintbrushes* we could paint little periwinkle flowers on the side pieces?
ok, going to read for a while. stid, galsses can be expensive
yes, mkg, do tell!
you could, stid, but they already have a design on the side pieces
oh. okay, well if it ever wears off... I know where my paints are! :-D
ty for the photo help, see you
my hubby is a doctor. did a study on a huge french catholic family where half of the 100+ first cousins had the same disease. when he went and did the genetic blood work, he discovered a lot of incest. and when he then spoke to the parents they told him the truth. for example, yes it was the child of this woman and her brother. yes it was an out of wedlock child. etc. he was in shock.
LOL stid
good lord . . .
oh boy, mkg. wow. *head spins from the idea*

Well done Annie.
hi jacula and thanks
Hi Annie.
whooooo hoooooo annie
hi jac
Hi lbd.
Yay Annie!
hi torg
Hi torg.
Heyas kids ..
That fight that our cat got into the other night cost be £46 (approx $68) at the vet's today. Mind you, judging by the fur and skin on our cat's claws, the other fella probably doesn't look too good either.:-(
*me not 'be'
HaHaHaHa!
Oh, not your story Jacs ..
I did wonder, torg...
A line from The Simpsons ..
Ah.
Too bad about the cat fight ..
"Hey Paris Hilton! I saw a disgusting part of your body on the internet - your face!"
Yes. Our cat's very territorial. I said to the vet, 'I thought neutering was supposed to calm cats down.' 'Think what he'd be like if he WASN'T neutered!' said the vet. That was something I didn't care to contemplate for long.
LOL, torg.
Hmm... I mention neutering and Torg goes very quiet. LOL
lol our 2 year iold male OWNS this house and rules with velvet paws, sad eyes and cute tricks that make you go awwww!'
lol jac
Hi Crossy. Our cat's about 10, we think. There is NOTHING 'cute' about him.
Hi feather.
Heh ..
we just lost our 15 year old kitty and are left with the 2 year old fixed male and a 5 year old fixed female
Was that a Torg I just heard?
darn, gotta reboot
Crossy - sorry about your loss.
hey all, I was going to change my icon, but not a fan of tomorrows.
On the 30th it will be TENROC day, suggested by FM, I think it will be very cool!
Oh, feather's off to put her boots back on again! Who's she going to kick? :-)
err tenrec.
np..we got her cremated, best idea ever...its still like she is part of the family
I was just going to ask what a tenroc is.
we have her ashes, her favorite food bowl and her fav toy all set up
Crossy - we did that with our female cat. She sits in a lovely carved box on the shelf next to the window and her favourite armchair with her smelly, tatty old toy mouse on the box.
lol we have our kitty in a nice cedar maple box all st up with her other things
We have a pet cemetery in the sunniest corner of the yard. Our Cat, and three dogs are all back there - and each has a small headstone - made from rocks in the yard and painted by my husband.
cre4mation and the box etc cost us 200 but it was worth it
I think I've said before on here that our female cat, after having to live rough for much of her early life, before she found me (aka Soft Touch), was very much an indoor kind of girl. Our male cat is an outdoors kind of guy. I think if we try to keep him in a box indoors when he 'does', the box would leap out of the window. I think we'll have to 'scatter' him in his favourite mouse-watching place.
lol
Cad - we have one of those up in our little fruit orchard. It's full of rabbits, guinea pigs, mice, a gerbil, goldfish...
There is also a statue of St. Francis of Assissi watching over the graves.
hello again.
The only pet who is not back home is our old dog. I was so upset and distressed when I had to take him on his final journey after nearly 18 years of companionship, that I forgot to ask for him back. I still can't believe I did that.
Hi Nef.
We've burried 2 cats and our dog in our backyard; marked the cat's graves with catnip and the dogs with a nice strawberry garden (it's illegal for us to bury pets here)
inour yards I mean
Having said that, and at the risk of sounding mad, he didn't really leave until our female cat moved in and he was sure we'd bonded. I'm sure you pet owners know what I mean.
Nef - I read a few years ago that it's illegal to bury pets in your garden here in UK now, in case they pollute the water supply. Apparently, you are supposed to contact someone to dispose of the remains, and pay for it.
I wonder how that would pollute the water supply? Our yard has about 4-5 inches of topsoil and then it's clay, so I'm sure that our animals won't pollute the water. The clay is pretty compacted
Speaking of strawberries, I remember when we had about 18 rabbits and we'd been strawberry picking, my daughter decided to see if rabbits like strawberries. Next morning, having forgotten she'd fed ripe red fruits, she screamed in horror when the fluffy white rabbit appeared to be 'covered in blood'.
Oh, MY!
Ditto Nef.
Nef - she soon realised.
but I can imagine it was still quite the scare for her!
Yes, it was.
speaking of rabbits, I found we had some dead ones in the corner of the yard today. I don't know if it was the weather or what may have killed them (they were pretty decomposed). I wonder if they would also pollute your water supply if an animal just dies outside, Jac?
Nef - that stupid law was just another of the 'try to force the people to do what you say' thing the Labour Government has sneakily passed. They have turned the UK into a Nanny State, almost on a par with Orwell's book '1984'. Political correctness has got out of control and we have more CCTV cameras per square mile watching us than any other country in the world.
No, of course burying pets won't pollute the water supply, unless you chuck 'em down a well or into a spring or a drain.
does that mean less crime too? Or just more intrusiveness?
And more bad laws on the way Jacs .. Have you heard of the Digital Britain abomination?
Torg - No! Oh Lord! What next?
Nef - mostly more intrusiveness. Crime doesn't get any less because patriotism and looking out for your fellow man goes out of the window.
Hi All - thought I would stop in and say Hi and see if anyone needed help
Legislation being pushed through Parliament by entertainment industry lobbyists that stands to greatly curtail your rights ..
Hi Momgiving help.
Ooh - we are in deep conversation tonight
hi Mom
Do go on, Torg...
Sorry Mom, I'm coming over all political.
Thats OK - I need to back up in the log to see what is going on
Is anyone here that was on earlier when I asked about how to get super glue off the plastic lens of my glasses? I'd like to report that the nail polish remover didn't work, and it didn't harm the glasses either
So as not to clog up the chat Jacs .. See here:http://www.openrightsgroup.org/ca mpaigns/disconnection
Thanks Torg.
Thanks Torg.
It's nothing short of state-approved censorship ..
hi gang...
Heya Pini ..
hi Pini
how goes it?
It goes ..
been there, done that sorta thing?
okay for me; how about for you tonight?
derub
not too bad...spent some time in the ER late this afternoon/earlier this evening...co-worker took ill...I volunteered to take the rest of the afternoon off to take her in...
OOOPS! Sorry. 18 left and 9 are D's
Ok, I think I have caught up - we bury our pets in our yard so they can stay close to us. Our last dog that died was 10 years ago and our kids made a great stone to honor her. We have one that will pass soon (hopefully not but...) and will do the same. I talk to our old girl everytime I walk the yard. It is fitting! Politics - I dont care. My family that includes my pets I do. Crossy, sorry to hear you lost a family member.
Nef - you might need a little patience to get the superglue off your specs. Nail polish remover is the answer, but give the glue time to dissolve. It might need 3 or 4 goes. Then wipe with undiluted washing up liquid (not dishwasher solution, but for hand washing dishes) and then run under a warm tap(fawcet). Dry and then polish.
that works for plastic lenses?
Pini - you are a good friend - stressful for the friends as well - how are you doing
I was using a tiny amount just on the super glued area, but I did try a number of times.
However, Nef, if you have a tint and/or anti-glare coating on the lenses you may need to get them redone. See your optician.
We have a thing in the UK called 'Sticky Stuff Remover'. It works miracles.
I've already made an appt. for Fri AM
Call the optometrist or where you got your glasses
I'm doing fine...was keeping her distracted (she was experiencing a sharp pain in her lower right side); we were trying to deduce whether or not it's her gall bladder or appendix...she's still at the hospital; so I'm simply waiting for a phone call from her to see how she's doing and to pick her up if they release her.
Hmmm, wonder if that's the same as GooGone?
we have goo gone here - works great on artificial surfaces but I dont know about glasses
sounds like it, Nef ;)
Pini are you a nurse
nope (thankfully)
thankfully? Why do you say that, Pini?
couldnt remember this week I had an alergic reaction to a new med and was telling my fellow babblers about it =cant remember who was on line
No offense to nurses! I can't handle getting my blood drawn...
I beleive I was on at that point Mom.
Nef - this might sound like a silly question, but is your nail polish remover an 'acetone free' one? Some are oil-based so as not do dry out your nails. It's the acetone you need to dissolve the glue.
well I was pretty out of it that day but still played the game - addicted huh?
it was a BP med, right (and I'm a nurse; talked about the old bee sting kit...)
yes nef I remember
not addicted! just a devoted player like the rest of us! LOL
I am still looking alittle sunburned but OK
Jac, I had to wait for our dtr. to come home to try it. she has both and brought them both up. neither worked
Nef - how long did you wait for it to work?
I dont remember much from yesterday actually. Got myself so worked up.
3 - 5 mins is optimum time.
Jac, I was using q-tips and would rub it on the glue then use a dry one and rub it off
Have you gone online to check other remedies?
hello all
down to one earlier, one last fishy one.
stid!
Hi Stid
Hi stid.
Mom, it's scary to have that happen. If it was a BP med; it may take a couple of days for your color to return to normal
pini! are you staying in a tent in our backyard in August? are you bringing Koda?
hi again stid
sounds like that might work, stid...and yes, if he's welcome along the way...
he's absolutely welcome. We don't have a fenced yard, but can figure something out (rural road, very little traffic -- another beagle next door)
otherwise, I might be able to get my dau to let him camp her house with her 2 beagles...
okay, listing at one.
He's good on a long leash (have one, will bring) and he can be kenneled at night (will bring that, too)
fishy fishy fishy... firewords!
wtg stid! :)
sounds fine, pini.
YAY, stid!!! WTG!!!!
will jmc be able to make it
whooooo hoooooo STID!!
are the ca's on board?
congrats stid
so. jill wanted me to let everyone know that she is offline for a while. She isn't having good luck with her internet connection.
so you are a group of friends here
how about you LBD? are you coming in August?
Anyway, don't talk to me about superglue. I once managed to glue my jumper to the edge of a kitchen work surface. Had to wriggle out of the jumper to get away and then use a razor blade to separate the jumper from the work surface. Another time, I superglued a smiley face stone disc onto a nail just outside my back door. I pressed it into place with my left forefinger for a minute. When the minute was up, my finger was also stuck. No one was home but me. I was not going to have the embarrassment of being in the local paper if the fire brigade had to rescue me and so, not even caring if my skin ripped, I applied some force with my other hand to free myself. It worked, but there was a hard patch of glue on the pad of my left index finger for about a week afterwards.
so sorry to hear, stid...I hope it's resolved soon!
well yes, Mom -- we become friends here. Some of us haven't met in person (yet), but we keep hoping!
brb supper needs tending
I've also still got the jumper I got stuck in. 10 years on, it still has a tiny hard patch where the glue was.
oh my, jac!!! * hiding superglue *
whereabouts are you, mom?
well, I have trifocals and should have waited for someone else to repair my glasses as I can't see a darn thin up close these days
I am in New Hampshire - didnt know if you all came on together or met here. I am envious if you met here. I am new to this site and hope to meet many new friends
got the glue smeared across the upper inner corner of the glass lens
I met everyone here in Babbleland...
...and the ones I've met in person as a result are stid and her mom, stidg ;)
I had progressive bifocals for a while - hated them and went with 3 pairs of glasses - yes call me crazy!
help with ve 7/48 pls
ve + consonant + to en**** is to withstand
ve7 is greenness. Think of grass and other vegetation.
thx grem!
and jac!
Pini - you haven't met everyone in Babbleland. LOL.
ve + con + no matter what you will end***
Can I get a bottom center R and U clue?
Mom, welcome aboard. I've met all my fellow Babblers here except for 2 that I haven't *seen* here in several years and one that just came back after not being here for over ayear (I met those 3 on a different site and they told me about Babble)
firwroks! thank you all. that was my last one
Well done big red.
wtg big red!
YAY, big red!!!! WTG!!!
I have been playing wordsplay for a year or so and heard about this site from a player there. I love this game!
congrats big red
thank you and good night all.
Well, if you ever get to the West Coast, Mom...look us west-coasters up!
I've been playing since Aug. of '05 and this is probably one of the most up-beat group you will ever find on the internet
re clues - regretted? Reigned?
there is no stress with timing = can chat if I want or not - people here are so friendly
bye, bigred
Odd way of spelling what you did with a book?
it's definitely one of the best I've found, Nef!
and pl
thanks for the offer pini - coast to coast huh? I dont see that happening soon but we will keep our chat up and who knows
u word = ur4/5 - a bear.
thx nef ;)
and to re*** name something
thx jac! (and I know that word)
back again
Mom, I'm going to a wedding in July in Montana and am hopefully going to meet some Babblers there
that's what we do, Mom...just keep coming back for fun game and good friends...
re5/18 - what the film editor did again to put the foreign words on a film.
I need to get to bed soon - early and busy day tomorrow - anyone need any help before I leave
ooooh, just 2 more R's and they're all done! (thx jac)
YAY bigred!
I should probably get something to eat and open the list...
You are getting almost half way there Nef
I hope you get a chance to meet some babblers in person, Mom -- there are some on the east coast (more southerly though, the Boston area and the DC area) who get together sometimes
I need to get a dress turned up ready for a party on Saturday night, and the house dusted and polished for a visit from my cousin, who I haven't seen for years, on Sunday morning.
go pini go!
y/w Pini.
ok, stid...back shortly...
Boston is an hour and a half away. I was chatting with someone from Vermont that was about the same.
g'night mom; don't work too hard, jac!
what fun, Jac! I hope you'll enjoy the party -- and the visit!
Good Luck Jacula
The best of nights all - sleep tight - poof
night, mom1
sweet dreams Mom
Stid _ I hope so, too. I just wish social events didn't hide for months and then all come at once. I was asked out for a meal on the night of the party, a family birthday meal. The party we'd already accepted the invitation to is for my Other Half's niece's 16th birthday.
'Night Mom.
busy weekend Jac.
I know how that is, Jac -- this two weeks that I "would" have had vacation ended up with just a few days (that's how I made it up to Canada with Mother).
Stid - yes, I saw that.
The party is '7.30 'til late', which probably means until about 3am. Then there's 30 mins to get home. Ho on earth will I be awake and bright and breezy at 11am when my cousin arrives?
don't stay for the whole thing???
Even if we leave at midnight, get home at 12.30, I get to sleep about 1.30am, if I'm lucky and no hot flushes...
stid - it's not up to me. I'm not the driver and it isn't my family.
I need an hour minimum, preferably 2 before I feel sociable in the morning. Plus 2 giant cups of tea and a Babble fix.
oh, that makes it hard, Jac.
I'm being defeatist here. I'm sure I will cope fine.
Well, DH made reservations for us (using a gift card from a retirement gift of mine) for this fancy old fashioned hotel about 70 miles south of the Cities for Friday night and then made reservations for us to catch a bus (Sat. AM) to go to a special honors ceremony for a men's club buddy of his that is 80 miles North of the Cities! He just realized tonight that it wouldn't work!
retirement, Nef???
oh -- that seems like a lot of "back and forthing" as my mother would say
stid - I know just was Stidgmere means.
*what not was
you usually do (cope) Jac -- but in the meantime, it's not a lot of fun to think about!
I had to retire from ICU nursing when I injured my foot, stid. That was back in 2007, the hospital goofed and didn't give me a tea, nor did they give me the retirement gift pkg and honor certificate til last year.
oh -- I had missed that, Nef. what a bummer, to miss your big party.
(I never did get the tea, however) But $300 worth of gift certificates was a nice treat
stid - the most not fun thing to think about is having to listen to the type of music 16-year-olds like all night!
My co-workers gave me a very nice party at Olive Garden restraunt; and several gifts, including a14 inch tall Lladro (sp?) statue of a nurse
I do hope there's not too much 'gangsta rap' as that makes me want to kill people and I'd hate to be a party pooper.:-(
hello 60 to go
hey harp!
Jac, maybe the driver of the car will need to leave early because of the musicv?
rofl Jac!
hi harp
Hi Harp. Do you think you could possibly be around to play calming harp music into my ear on Saturday night?
glad you had a nice party at the restaurant -- I really like Lladro pieces, they are quite elegant. Used to have a goose but it was broken in one of the many moves
well, I'm playing Passion Sunday music on Saturday night, will that calm you down?
em6
em6?
Nef - it all just washes over the car driver, music wise. If he gets a dose of UB40's Red Red Wine, he's happy. The song, in this instance, since he can't drink due to being the driver.
LOL, harp!
harp -em6, often spelled im6, is to stain (as with blood).
em6/30= em +odd way to spell a beer (home ****)
okie dokie. I am heading out to eat and rest a bit. see you-all tomorrow! *poof*
'Bye stid.
bye stid
thanks,
Well, Harp... I'm really not sure about that.
The Passion Sunday music, I meant.
I will probably need the calming sound of gentle waterfalls in lush green valleys. You know the sort of thing.
it's a bit on the solemn side....
does the ve7 build off the 4?
I will need something like that to counteract the 'smack up ma bitch' rap stuff. I really do not want to go on a killing spree and end up smashing all their cds and throwing the player out of the window if switching the power off doesn't work. LOL
Harp - no it doesn't.
didn't think so
ve7 is lush greenery or vegetation.
ah!
le7?
Anagram for an impolite vicar.
le7 = the animal that is le5, whose plural is le6, with a vowel before the last letter.
re5/18?
thanks
to record something again, holly
le7 means the unexorcised ghosts of a dead family.
mu6?
Holly - re5.18 is what the film editor did again to put the foreign subtitles on the film.
harp - mu6 is killing.
Thank you thank you thank you
lol thanks
9 left
Or, rather, unlawful killing. Homicide, I believe it's called in USA.
Holly, y/w
this morning i kept trying to enter to play percussion again, which is the killing anagram
Harp - I tried that one, too.
it made me want to go play my congo, again
It's amazing how many words cannot have the 're' prefix' and how many you've never heard or used in your life that can.
Let's give thanks to SKY TV, the medium that gave the UK access to what was being watched in the USA, and so helped us understand some of our differences.
it's pretty random if you ask me
3 left
Harp - it seems random with the dictionary this site uses, but if you get yourself a very good, many-volumed dictionary, and add a smattering of knowledge of other languages and the history of language, then it's not so random.
Keep going, Nef.
well i have no use for a dictionary that doesn't work in babble.....
fireworks!
Well done, Nef!
br 5/18?
Harp - I'm just fascinated by languages, words, similarities etc., but maybe that's because I'm a writer.
me too actually jac
Sounds like what you sweep the floor with, Harp.
It means a fog or a mist.
thanks
lucky 13 to go
y/w Harp.
Harp - what, fascinated or a writer, or both?
not a writer, i just like words and word origins
good night, all. DH is asking for help again
I think we Babblers are very different from professional Scrabble players. They just look at the numbers/scores and most don't care what the word actually mean.
'Night Nef.
*words
I'm not very good at Scrabble but I like crossword puzzles
What would a Babble world tournament look like, I wonder? Would we all chat too much to play seriously, or would be come over all secretive and not give clues>
I came here via doing crosswords, Harp.
we would all stand around and worship dr god and lickety
Harp - speak for yourself.
DR God would get a thank you and a peck on the cheek for starting this and for keeping it going.
done and g'night
thanks for the clues!
I wouldn't dare give Lickety a peck on the cheek, lest MrP whack me one. LOL. Anyway, BJ was king before him, and, to be honest, I can usually find my way through the grids, due to BJ's early tutoring and Babble experience now without a list giver.
'Nigh Harp.
that's right bj was the vest!
i mean the best!
I'm off tomy pillows now in about 20 mins. So, if anyone wants clues, ask now of forever hold your peace.
LOL Harp, I think BJ might like the vest description.
(back)...I have about 15 minutes to finish my last 28 words (going to run by the hospital to check on my co-worker)
Scream if you want a clue, pini.
thx jac!
le7? can't figure out the ending of the le5
nm...got it ;)
down to 14 now ;)
le6 (the plural of le5) with a vowel before the last letter.
Drat, you did a Peri.
danke, jac ;)
sorry, jac!!!
it wasn't intentional! ;)
s'okay.
Anyway, most clues posted help someone along the way, even after we've gone. That's true of Babble and of life. LOL
of course, jac!
ps5?
ps5 = fake. Often ends with an 'o'.
thx jac!
9 to go now!

hi, all -- just popped in to see how everyone is doing
Hi cybernan.
se5/16 and se5/14 ?
Things are mostly hunky dory, except for MrP who has broken a left fibula (calf bone) and her right ankle, plus ligament damage to that.
Have you finished jac?
oh, gosh...I hope she feels better soon!
She fell off a wobbly plank to the henhouse, when startled by a flapping hen, whilst getting the hens in for the night out of the trees.

thx for the clues and chat!! <<hugs>>
anyone know how mrp is doing?
* curtsy* <<poof>>
cyber - last I saw from her on Facebook ws that she would be back amongst us soon withno broken bones.
that is good news -- poor girl, she has had so many health issues.
off til the flip :) - bye
I can only think that if she though anything as she fell off the plank, that she wouldn't break the arm all the ops had finally put right. I think he might have brittle bone disesae or something like it. Tjhe breaks she got should not have occurred in a healthy person. Though some anomalies do sometimes happen.
I'm off too. See you all next grid, UK time.

hi Pini
hi barb ;)
that's a beautiful horse barb
everythings good for now; my timing was impeccable ;)
thanks his name is Hawk
I'd say so Pini, there and back again in under an hour. very good timing.
* grin * 38 minutes to be on point! :)
Barb, my husband has a paint named Schizo, but he lives on the ranch in Wyoming (the horse, not the husband).
When I got to her mom's house to pick up an overnight bag (just in case), mom told me they'd released her; so I stopped by the store on the way, picked her up and delivered her, stayed a few minutes to "catch up" on what was happening and told them if she needed to go back any time between now and morning to just give me a call ;)
Paints are so pretty! :)
I used to live near wild mustangs...
I wish!
my other one is a black and white...big white t on the face and his sides look like we rubbed off the paint with the saddle lol
that would be so cool to see
Mustangs was my HS mascot, too...very appropriate for us!
I don't ride much these days but love to just spend time with them
especially when they give out hugs like crazy
they give hugs?
How sweet. I love animals.
yes...you wrap your arms around their necks from the front and they pull their heads down into your back giving you a hug
awwwww...how cool!
I use to have an old horse who would give you kissed too...just had to be careful if he had eaten a banana ...they were his favorite...a bit on the messy side when he kissed you after
LOL
ewwww, I think I'd have to pass on that one!
LOL love it!
I hope to find my picture of my two horse playing tug a war and put it up but I have miss placed it somewhere
well I don't think I will get anymore words on this one
