Yes! :P
Phew - relieved now!
Had me going for the moment...
i think i accepted - it's been quite awhile since i logged in there though
Yes. Peruse my page - and watch me nearly kill myself. :P
Tandem skydive...
Something I'll never repeat.
one of these days i'll try that, i think
Erm, I don't recommend it - seriously, it was a horrible experience from start to finish. Especially the finish!
I had lovely bruises for a while after...
your experience is one of several in the negative among people i have met
there have been a lot more positive opinions, though
I'll bet...
I was terrified, I don't mind telling you.
it's ok to be terrified. i experienced pure terror on a ride at the state fair last autumn
I had to just do it without thinking - if I thought about it I wasn't going through with it. I knew that!
stuck at 13 -- will finish tomorrow. Good night all :)
Goodness - what sort of ride was it?

hi Katie
morning
hello Ormal
I've gotten stuck so now I''m just staring at the board thinking I should go to bed....
kind of a tough one today, huh
looks that way to me
seems so. I've got 53 more to go, and I see nothing I haven't already used, and words that just aren't quite there.
It's reasonable for the first half...
:P
After that, I'm now hopelessly lost and frustrated.
Yikes! Cat claws in my bottom!
er.. but how's the grid?
Oh just got ba 5/16 - where is crossy when you need him!
just had a call from Jilli - sob, internet is down again
thanks Katie

Well! Looks as if I'm back online. Will it last?

Everybody please cross fingers (I know, you won't be able to type if you do)
Hello all!
hello jilli, gl with the connection
great icon jilli
Am I the only British person fed up with the election already?
btw, Grem has clues in his bio
sorry Katie, haven't been following it
thanks, flosey, for both the icon remark and the grem info :)
it is only going to be called this morning with the date being 6th May but I am fed up of politics already
yw jilli, good luck

*to (honestly shocking English)
nbt if there's anyone here to notice
I am jilli just got here
talk about a late flip lol
and wtg !!
did you have a nice Easter?
hi jili; hi west!
late flip for me too
hi dee !!
hi west, Dee, jilli
how was your Easter? did you visit your daughter?
hi grem finished?
hi grem
about an hour ago, yeah
oh grem are you okay?
I am okay
somehow I knew that lol
that must have been scary
I was out of town for Easter at the time, heh
we had just finished dinner and got a text from our daughter
thanks for the list, grem
Butler was her boyfriend's alma mater, so since they made it to the final game, they are coming next weekend instead...
that was lucky then
hi west -- did you have a good Easter?
she did send me flowers (peace offering HA HA)
oh poor Butler but they played a great game
hi dee hi!
we had a very quiet Easter jilli but it was quite relaxing
how about you all/ nice Easter? hugs jili... didn't they? One of the best games I have seen.
I guess Duke won?
we have been having so much trouble with DirecTV that we missed the first half
very close final score jili
they did Jilli 61-59
I had a quiet Easter here by myself -- lots to keep me busy though
wow -- that is close!
glad for that jili... sometimes holidays can be lonely... I thought I would be, but it was a great day
they stated close almost the entire game
they all look so young and the coaches as well
stayed ...
my mother cancelled at the last minute said her back was bothering her
I was a bit ticked that son and d-i-l had their 2 kids and the daughter's bf for turkey and all and I wasn't invited (they don't live on this island)
aww so sorry.. how is she now?
that was disrespectful... brats
I was miffed our daughter spent part of the day at her boyfriend's parents...
she's okay she has so much trouble hearing and our granddaughter was bringing her boyfriend and mom gets nervous around 'strangers'
how old is she west?
we had the most gorgeous weather though
she'll be 94 on Jilli's birthday
wow ... must be twins of a different mother LOL
hey, watch it there!
Jilli's way younger though lol
I'm not going to be 94
you will jilli some day !!
ooooh.... wasn't even thinking of age when I typed that DUH
I doubt it -- doesn't run in the family ;)
but that was before Babble
keeps us all young
ah, I see
hmm I wonder if we can still play in the after life
I sure hope so
oh dear did I kill the chat?
nope was just trying to find a word
not a bit
I'm trying to find several lol
oh, crossy will be happy to find ba5/16!
definitely
your school is here jilli
well, not quite, I think -- it's Mc
McG, I should say
you have an amazing memory, west
I'm sorry always thought it was ma.. and daughter's best friend graduated from there too
now I feel terrible
well, don't!!!
now I know so that's good
btw, west, I had a late flip too -- internet went down again, didn't come back until about an hour ago
oh no jilli I thought it was all fixed
so did I -- don't know what happened this time
is it your computer or your server?
frustrating I am sure
not my computer -- I was able to do lots of other stuff, just not online. The connection was kaput.
that sucks
how are you connected? phone line, dsl, cable?
well, it came back, so that's good.
a few years ago we didn't have internet and now we'd be lost without it
oh-- crossy can be doubly happy -- I think ga6/30 is a form of ba5/16
wow jili ty for both those ... keep em coming... didn't have those
looking ..don't have the ga6
I have an elderly friend who only recently was given a TV and has no idea how useful a computer is. She phoned yesterday so pleased that she had found some info about a plant I'd mentioned in a book her "mamma" had owned -- and of course there was much more info available via Google but she had no clue about that. I thanked her politely and didn't let on. She's younger than I am, btw, but lives in the 19th century.
funny how some folks are like that
she didn't even want the TV -- perfectly happy with the radio, and I think only listens to the CBC.
my mother has been using the computer for years her younger sister just got on line but still doesn't have the hang of it..too bad because my mother can't talk on the phone and auntie has trouble walking
could have been a great way for them to keep in touch
well, maybe the younger sister will get the hang of it
I hope so
recruit some teenagers to show her!
help please with bottom i in the 4th column
your friend sounds fascinating ..I'm surprised she used the telephone
it's that hairy nosed thing dee

Good morning/evening.

hope your Easter was lovely haz
wtg dee!
wtg dee !!
whew ty for help
my, but there are a lot of almost-the-same words with the same ending
It was good, we had the family together for Sunday lunch. The weather has turned nasty today, unfortunately.

wtg west ty haz didn't have that one
grem posted a list in his bio, btw
thanks too dee now I have the ni7 as well
yqw ... ty jili... going to get it now
wish lickety would come earlier... I like being able to look for the missing words ... I am very thankful for grem but takes longer
I agree -- maybe it has something to do with our time change
may be
speaking of that half our clocks 'sprung' ahead yesterday
that's odd
I should check all of ours, too, then
that would have been normal time to change
the ones that were programmed to change automatically if dst had not been Mar 14th
guess I don't have any programmed clocks
soon we'll be changing the clocks back and forth every other day
except the computer one
morning all. how many words please
I want summer time all year

hi sandra
I love the change of seasons
thanks
yes jilli !! we'll put you in charge
I mean daylight saving time (summer time)
gotcha
3/4 of our state was under water last week and in a few days it's supposed to be in the 80's
but I wouldn't mind spring and summer all year
and a touch of fall
and one lovely day of winter viewed from indoors
ok, fall becoming spring right away
but not too much rain
bah to winter
rain only at night
I think we're talking about CA
sounds like Camelot lol
or FL or HK maybe
FL can get awfully hot
so can HK (Hong Kong)
but if Key West or something gets hot you can just hop into the sea and cool off or have a pool (and a cabana boy)
Clues are up! sorry for the delay
I was never as hot in Key West as in Orlando
thanks lickety !!
Good evening, lickety, thanks very much!
Oh, wonderful, Lickety! Thanks so much!
oh, dear lickety, ty so much
stats for the 9 please don't want to list just yet

hi frances
Hello jilli. You caught me in lurk mode! Are you well
I'm fine, thanks, frances -- what was that rp for?
Last two letters of a four letter word. Keyboard stuck!
west there is a be 8,65
I have the 9
lol, frances!
and the 8 too
wowie, west!
I always feel better when I get the biggies
me too but cannot find the 9
I can wait for the biggies
be9 - the reaction of babblers when Lickety isn't available for a 400+ grid.
lol found it!!!
Being a slightly negative emotional reaction.
and sooo true
I'm too sleep to go on now -- busy tomorrow -- hoped I could get halfway tonight but the late start prevented that.
good morning everybody
Good morning, ruby.
*sleepy
hi ruby
hi ruby
ah, got that 9 -- thanks for the hints
have a good sleep jilli and wtg
You're welcome, jillibus.
what a nice way to start with haz's be9!
jumping in!
haen't got the be8 though :(
Don't forget to break it down (the be9), you'll get quite a few words from it.
be8 - the purpose of a christening ceremony.
if you got a new puppy you might be......it
or what haz said lol
thanks againHaz and west
You're welcome, jillibus.
ty haz had forgotten the be 6,36
No problem.
haz, you're sensible. do you ever have dreams and then when you wake up, no matter how much rational stuff you tell yourself, they continue to affect you emotionally?
hello, hursh -- I've had that
hurshy, do you remember many of your dreams?
Yes, I do. But eventually I manage to convince myself that it was a dream.
that makes me feel better. thanks.
yes ruby, rather. in fact i take sleeping meds and without them sometimes it feels like i'm just costantly dreaming... the meds tone it down.
It's amazing just how much dreams can affect you. There are times when I'm pleased to waken up.
sometimes the sad ones linger but other times th wonderful ones do, too.
I take Xanax at night to assuage the free-floating angst and it gives me wonderful dream, frequently "starring" TV actors
i have an easier time with the ones that make me feel pleased to wake up than the ones that make me feel like i wish i hadn't woken up.
The strangest dreams I ever had was when I was taking anti-malarial drugs. One dream that stood out was my fury that a shop wouldn't sell me a crossstitch kit.
Hooray!! Halfway plus!!! Now I can go to bed :)
sometimes I try to go back to sleep to re-capture the dream
lol!!!!
And babblers who know me will realise just how mad THAT was.
what a nightmare Haz!
Hello all
good job jilli - have a good dreamless sleep
I've done that too, ruby
Sleep well, jillibus.
wtg jilli and good night..dream happy
hello jilli
'night Jilli
It really was, lynxxx. It was a picture of an elephant, I could see clearly that my name was beside it on a reserved sticker, and they wouldn't sell it to me.
Thanks, and maybe I can dream of George Clooney?
and sweet dreams!
hello lynxxxx
Oh, jillibus, talk about wishful thinking!
that would be sweet jilli
hi lynxxx and night all *poof*
hi lyn
I dream of William Petersen and George Eads from dopey CSI Las Vegas! embarrassing -- why them?
No need to ask about George Eads.
hi West! was it you who was flooding?
He has a wonderful mind.
he's a hunk, n'est-ce pas? but a little young
it was my state lyn but we had none of it up our way
raofl
a couple of nights ago I dreamt about a boyfriend from about 30 yrs ago. How weird is that?
It fascinates me that so much memory is kept stored in your brain - things you thought you had forgotten.
not weird - that's the kind i just woke up from
or not!
it was actually very pleasant!
I am totally failing to get that be9, despite some clearly wonderful clues....
might go with gnashing of teeth sood
complaining about no lists!
be plus a word that describes the sort of noise people make when they're extremely sad about something.
how do you feel, soodle, still swollen?
ruby lickety is up
Just as I typed I got it. Thank you all>
You're welcome.
I never use lickety, that's why my results are always incomplete! just lazy
Still swollen, but no pain..... Dental appointment at 4.30!
I love this grid!
I suppose you're talking root canal treatment, unless it's in a place where it could be extracted without missing it?
Thank goodness it is right at the back, Haz - and it will be gone by about 4.45!! Never to give me grief again.
Great! I had a similar situation, though without the pain, it was just the start of an abcess on a crowned tooth. Dentist took it out, and investigated later to find that the root was as crooked as could be and would have been impossible to work with.
Best be off and do stuff. Thanks for the clues. Bye
Bye, Soodle, all the best for this afternoon.
bye soodle, hope it goes well with the dentist!
Good morning all!
gm flask
Good morning, Flask. I see a new picture!
Oh good!.....I just see the old one!
And what a happy smile!
Yes I made the invites for his christening and that was the pic we chose to use for it
How long ago was it taken?
bye all... cya later
Bye, Volley.
bye mom dee, see you after lunch
*poofing with hugs*
a few weeks ago Haz
I love babies at the stage when you know their personality and before they're mobile and you have to be on suicide watch the whole time.
clue for be8/65 please?
be plus the sort of ceremony that a christening or the launching of a ship is.
Oh he just loves to smile and giggle all the time!
ty haz, again!
You're welcome, ruby.
thanx Haz......strange...lol
I think we need a 'besotted' for Flask - but who could blame her - he is very cute
Now, I must be good and get some other things done. I'll be back later - enjoy the day!
trying to get half before lunch but probably not
bye Haz
lucky flask!!!
Take an n out of the be8 and you have a description of Flask's grandson's pic and of her when she talks about him! Byeeee!
bye Haz...thanx!
got that, but thanks!
I think today's grid theme must be babies and nanas
looks like a Crossy grid to me
I didn't see bacon
cough, splutter....
ga6.30 too
ty lynxx, didn't get the 30, but got two others.....
like the game backga****
Ruby why did you say I was Lucky, earlier??
to have such a beautiful baby in the family! My son and DIL won't have children, ever, her choice!
and she's getting to be too old to change her mind!
luckily I have dogs for all that love to lavish
Yes I feel very blessed...and proud....I think it its very sad when people choose not to have children at all!!!
Not just for them, but for the extended family too!
she is an ardent vegetarian and I think worries about global issues and also comes from a huge, poor family
uh oh, I shouldn't talk about that in the chog, not private enough *PB for me*
thats a shame Rubyfoo......pets fill a hole, but not quite the same, am afraid!
yes, of course, I know
it surely helps, though
of course, it does!!
I need 3 more words and then can go and make lunch (will have half! lol)
anybody have the right-hand n's?
or the bottom o
ni4.5 is one
no, bottom i
have the o's , duh
not there yet!
bottom i is hairy nosed dolphin common babblet
hahah joshua, and I know that how? lol
hi Josh

BBL - have fun
bye 4 now!
hello all - what are the stats for the 9 please
be9/102
ty haz
You're welcome.
Hello Haz, have only just arrived and am contemplating the grid. Lovely day here :)
Hi ursh
phantom "warbling'
Hello FM. Not so nice here, unfortunately, but you should enjoy the grid. It's a bit tougher than yesterday, I think, but still fun.
lol corssy (())
((FM))
Oh shame HAz, I have windows open and a short sleeved top on.
lots of nice words with same ending though
you'd think I could spell yr name right by now crossy!
It's raining merrily here. I suppose it's good for the grass.
lol not to worry
Will send you some of our sun for the morrrow.
crossy is loving all the nice big words ending in ing
Excellent!
Good Morning! How is today's grid?
lov ING it:)
Good morning, Merk.
really ... that hasn't hit me yet. I loved earlier ones, but I'm not 'into' this one yet.
The grid is a little tougher than yesterday, in that there are more unusual words, but it's still fun.
Back, was just paying cleaning lady.
Hi Merk.
god my mrs would love a cleaning lady..who knew our little fm,lady of the manor;)) hehe
Round about 26 words with that ending.
lol, I know it is indulgent but she does more in 2 hours than I ever would.
oh i know, just teasing,my m-i-l has one and is worth every penny of 15 dollars per hour
(())
Haz, meant to ask is all the decorating done now as you were waiting for some extra rolls of wallpaper?
she is 72,can still run her own house but tubs, windows and shower and floors are hard for her now
I'm still waiting for that extra roll! It's to come from America, I suppose that explains the delay.
Tsk, what a pain Haz.
crossy hates doing wallpaper, matching the patterns gets me foaming at the mouth
Just two strips to do - one above the door, of about nine inches, the other at the side of the washing machine. Otherwise, the only other thing to do is to change the light but that may involve an electrician - still waiting for husband to test out how complicated it is.
my messages are disappearing :( either that or there is a lag issue with the log.
crossy, this particular wallpaper was a nightmare to match. A drop of 21 inches and a tiny pattern that deceived you into thinking you had got it and then, wham, it's out further down.
The annoying thing is that once up, everyone thinks it's a no-match wallpaper. But I am pleased with it.
Ah there we are, it was lag. You do enjoy a challenge dear!
As long as it doesn't involve sewing!
you can come to me for that.
bater and utilising talents has worked for centuries :)
I know.
I'm wondering how long it will take crossy to spot his favourite food in the grid.
oh good point, guess he hasn't spotted it yet.
Hi FMitch ... had my nose in the grid
np Merk :)
CROSSY SEES BACON!
And now he sees the inside of the PB>
and goes immediately to the PB LOL
,,,lol,,off i go
you can cook us up a batch of something tasty whilst you are in there .
lost myself there for a moment
Was that entrapment, do you think?
We understand crossy, you were overcome with the moment *grin* Shhh Haz ;)
i have homefrys going from leftovers all nice and crispy in da pan with some nice valencia onion bits and slivers of ham from easter
i was set up officer!
those evil women teased me,offered me my dreams and whammo! there you were
You know how once in a great while a grid just hits you wrong, rubs you the wrong way. I'm afraid that is today for me.
I can't get my 'a' tiles filled in.
Oh I wish crossy buttoday salad Nicoise is on the menu here.
It's just clicking for me today.
Talking of food I think I will have to go and get some as missed breakfast this morning. Know what you mean Merk, it does happen from time to time.
Hi everyone. Anyone have clues for the bottom two vowels?
in4/4 babblet.
oi4/4 - double helping of what goes with vinegar.
ty, I'm on my Mac
oi6 - the process of applying oi*
oiling
Got the a words finished ... now why did I find them so hard?
oops
crap
as you can see,im on the computer without babble pro
Hi and bye bichon TTFN Haz and crossy and Merk
expert that is
ty Haz and especially Crossy !!!
Bye, FM, see you later.
remember everyone, ing endings are your friend today:)
unless i just end up typing it all out in the chog:/
good morning, babble friends! CROSSY! This must be your favorite grid of all time!!!
it is indeed trif:)
Hello, Trif.
when was the last time enable was updated, does anyone know, please?
1989 lol
at least once since the version Babble uses.
just wondering....it won't take "bling" and, although a slang word, it has been around and in use for a while now....
will not take elvii either, and our town put that word on the map and into the dictionaries
what is that, more than one elvis?
yup
blue ribbon for moi!
we hold the international elvis festival every year
do you put on blue suede shoes to attend?
shh..do not tell anyone, but crossy really only cares for one or two of his tunes
s'okay. lots of people feel that way...
when the whole world is in town losing thier minds,i am wearing earplugs
their
great, now i have "suspicious minds" stuck in my head....
all can can do is picture him singing in those b grade movies he did and cringe
Blame the Colonel for them.
I am sure they made him cringe too.
oooh, Haz - hot gossip for you!
Yes?
I was chatting on here the other morning, particularly with Nancy Boy, and GUESS WHO popped in to the chog? None other than our most notorious Englishman! I about fainted.
I know. I know.
I bid a hasty retreat.
someone more notorious than moi???
You don't even come close, crossy.

(Sitting on my hands)
hello trifio!
hello ruby
Being diplomatic is SOO painful sometimes....
did i say something wrong?
.....depends on how tasty the dressing is....oh, darn, I couldn't resist!
hehe
No, ruby, it's about something else entirely, don't you worry.
good morning everyone - you all up bright and early
I am SO going to hell.....but I'll save seats! :)
or late
ohh, got scared, still not that familiar with the babble ethos!
chomping at the bit,thats me
what ethos? i just roll with it;)
It was something that happened a while back, it caused major upset at the time.
the ladies rein me in if i get carried away
dateline, Norwell - Primo is on a field trip today, learning how to bl4 glass with his art class. doesn't that sound cool?
I think I just got a spider bite, in the house, before I went in the garden
very cool
oh, ruby, watch that carefully! I got so sick from a spider bite once, I was in hospital x 2 days!
I used to live about 1 1/2 hrs from Corning, so got to see their blown glass both in process and in the museum. It is a beautiful but slightly scary art form!
what kind of spider as it, do you know?
I think as long as he remembers not to inhale, he'll be okay. Seriously, inhaling that wicked hot air can do you a mischief.
I don't know exactly, but judging from the reaction at the site and my illness, they are guessing a brown recluse
I guess no one heard me - Good Morning Everyone
my finger is changing color but the itching has stopped and it just hurts a little!
good morning mom!!!
Hello, Mom!
thats better
fortunately, we don't have those here. But I think that all spiders bite, even the beautiful ones we have here
do you have any antihistamine in the house?
everyone is quite chipper this morning
hi mom
this is a lovely grid; I actually just reached half!!
spiders are beautiful???
I'm heading off now. Enjoy the day and the grid. Bye!
bye haz, and have a lovely day
yes, I think I'll take some. I also keep an adrenaline shot in the fridge because I have a lot of allergies (more every year), and a couple are serious
bye haz - have a great day
just itching to seize the day,im sure to cause a riot before the day is out;)
Bye! *gone*
there is a European garden spider, Argiope, which has yellow, white, brown, black and orange in stripes and spots. Some years the females get really big and I feed them flies. The indoors spiders are not pretty, don't make webs, jump, and I squish them!
got doctors appt this morning - after that I can seize as well
hello
have some fun mnh, phone the office and tell them that your the one 20 minutes late this time
howdy herin
hello herin!
hello herin!@
Hi herin
i read about a lawyer,he ad a dr appt and due to sceduling mistake he ended up waiting 2 hours before they called his appt.so he did what any lawyer would do and billed the doctors office for his 2 hours lost
isn't paba a word? The stuff in coconuts or pineapples, or sunscreen?
yes, but maybe it's an acronym.....
I tried it, too
it is indeed
and elbow is a nice little phantom
sigh. why do I ever expect enable to make sense?
how did it work ruby
net is shiffty sorry
which, mom?
all my phantoms have -ble at the end - marbling, warbling, etc.
whatever it is you are talking about
and I keep trying "million"
thats cause there are so many good words with the ing today;)
or ingle
hoping enable will look away for an instand
instant* can't type today
bus stop shuffle -- back in a few!
the antihistamine is two flights awya, if that is what you mean, and when I take a break, I'll trek on up
if you feel faint, take 3 shots of whiskey, tie a rope around your arm and dial the emerg for a pick up:)
my sole exercise is stairs; I must go up and down 50 flights a day!
the only thing poisonous here is vipers, but I've not seen one. I learned on Sunday that the local foxes come into my next door neighbor's yard IN THE DAYTIME! Isn't that wonderful?
we are good here in that regard.i do not envy our aussie friends though.all those little deadly spider and snakes
we get lots of foxes ruby, but you are right.if we see one in the daytime,we know there is a problem
last one we saw moving around in mid day had rabies
why is that a problem?
the normally do not roam in mid day
no kidding! my housekeeper said that, but I thought she was being a bit extreme! Another neighbor feeds them abats from the local abattoir!
I think they're pretty tame.
your hosekeeper is right
its like trying to feed wild racoons or bats, all carry the potential for rabies
there is also a kind of big snake here, called a coulouvre (or something) but it's harmless and I've never seen one, either. Lots of lovely little lizards, though
play with the lizards instead
and there are bats in the cliffs who come down to our fishpond at dusk, lovely little black butterfly-looking creatures
best bug remover ever;)
I suppose they could have rabies, too, tho I never thought of it. One came in the house, but I encouraged it to leave without hurting it (while husband hid in another room)
each one can eat its own weight in bugs every night
I love bats and they eat more than their body weight in insects per day!
snap
too funny, crossy, we must read the same books
too many national geographic magazines as a child
me too
and no,i was not looking for the african stories
and then there's the Bat Conservancy....
based in Austin where my son lives. There are millions of bats there, living under the main bridge downtown, and as much as I like bats, seeing millions come out at dusk is too much even for me!
must go, see you later. Very nice chatting with you crossy!
my mrs loses her mind when we get a bat in the house
tc ruby
my husband, too. He also gets freaked out when birds wander in but I can usually catch them, inspect them and then carry them outside. I can make them relax in my hand
i try not to hold the birds too long, they tend to die in my hands
hey all. back. I am a BIG fan of bats, but not in the house. Outdoors only, please
hi all
hey boo!
howdy boo
crossy, was just catching up in the chog - do you really have that problem with birds, or was that a Steinbeck reference?
hey Crossy
i have 1 or 2 barn swallows in the house a while ago
and yes,i have had one die of a heart attack in my hands
i use a fishing net nowadays
oh, okay. When we were more active in horse riding, I used to try to save all the little birds that fell out of nests in the barn. Never turned out well. I am starting to really believe the mommas chucked them out, as they could somehow sense they were incompatible with life
once they smell your human smell on the babies,it is all over, wife has had some success if she wears no perfumes and uses garden gloves
birds crash into the kitchen window all the time and one little guy lost his wife that way; she broke her neck and died. For two years after, he would walk into my kitchen looking for her and I would help him make his way back out
I wouldn't put them back in the nests, we would bring them home and try to nurse them here
we used to have the window problem and we solved it py placing a few butterfly stickers on the window
oh Ruby - you are such a romantic
hi Trif & Cross
we did have a lovely little sparrow we named Captain Jack for about two weeks, and when he died I was inconsolable
hello lynxxx!
howdy lynxx
usually I wear thin latex gloves because I know that birds can have lice (eeewww) but otherwise, I've never had one die in my hands.
and getting a good look at them is wonderful, especially since these are all new species for me
I have, however, disposed of dead ones I've found, but inspect them first also.
here we have to inspect all dead crows in springtime and report them
do you draw them Ruby?
do you have to report dead birds you find on your property to the local council?
just crows, crossy?
I used to draw owls and sell them when I was still exhibiting, but not from life. Usually from photographs or old lithographs
just crows
there is an owl you can watch nesting on line, I think...Molly the owl, maybe?
I have tried photographing these birds, but no success so far.
should I Google molly/owl or something?
yes, here it is: http://www.ustream.tv/theowlbox
I sent owlady a photo of an old drawing I did, the only one I kept for myself, but I couldn't get the photo into my icon
ty trif, I'll try that a little later
sweet jesus! owl chicks are UGLY
lol, ever hear baby pandas scream? they can turn the momma right off lol
there's a book called Wesley the Owl with photos of Wesley when he was a virtually hairless baby. Worse than baby mice!
geesh, crossy I would say the same about human babies.
Secondo had a set of lungs on her that could clear a room
If your mother weighed 500 lbs and you wieghed 4 ounces, you'd scream too
naw..put them in the basement and its fine:))))
LOL ruby!
gane
oops - sorry
off you fo
go
ty trif, I didn't have that and could certainly use it!!!
still have only 110 words
morning Babblers :)
I live to serve....
i always did like trifs clues best;)
hello hello no no
howdy nono
thats 2 more than i have ruby
hi Nono
me too. stuck at 108 for an age now
beautiful afternoon here -- still chilly but I have 48 dwarf tulips open (yes, miss compulso counted them!)
bet they are gorgeous ruby. Are they all the same color or a rainbow of colors?
lol,if i lived next door a buy a few and when you are not looking,id add one, then the next day,id remove 2 hehe
lol crossie
drive you nuts for half the summer, them plant them all
my front garden is a mass of white, yellow and purple crocus
I have probably told you this before, but I can't help repeating, it is so beautiful! We ha a great story in the local paper here about a woman who lost her husband unexpectedly in January. Come April, a heart shaped garden of tulips appeared on her front lawn -- he had planted them back in the fall as a spring surprise for her. She said it was like a valentine from heaven....
awww
oh my Trif, what a sweet story
...snif....
the dwarf tulips are a dark salmon, and they open first.
shh ruby..we are misting here
I was on the phone with husband's cardiologist -- what a touching story!
can someone pass me a tissue pls...what a precious thing to do
nope..just allergies
gads, the next mr. trifioso is gonna have a lot of expectations to live up to....lol!
don't think that could happen around here....
the garden, to change the sasd subject, is all in shades of salmon, pink, red, violet and blue with just a little bit of white. I designed it very carefully, but all from books, because it is my first garden.
wow, ruby, nice palette! well done you!
the house is light salmon with burgundy shutters
and i thought my wife was bad for matching everything in the house, never mind all the nature out of the house lol
there was no garden to speak of when we bought the house and I planted (not myself, of course, 15 trees, many of them fruit, plus innumerable fruit-bearing and flowering shrubs and little everygreens.
grabs onto babble and holds tight and hopes net doesn't drop out
howdy again herin
net is really bad at the moment. I miss yuo lot
like an English garden via Martha Stewart. I made a lot of mistakes, but it is beautiful by mid April and stays so most of the summer
just now and then some formerly-tiny shrub grows monstrous and has to be removed
it's hard to tell when you select plants from photographs
harrumph. I have to leave for work soon. (whispers) I don't like my first student today - he is a handful and it is always 60 minutes of pleading and redirection to get him to do ANY thing....)
crossy: I color-coordinated the inside of the house as well...my husband let me do whatever I wanted except for his bathroom and the guest bathroom
we will miss you trifioso!! face away from him and stand on his instep; that used to work for me when I was a teacher.....
when the boy flies the nest,im going to turn his room into a man cave and leave the rest to the mrs
OMG ruby! I would get fired immediately! but I do LOVE the idea....
clue for ai 6 pls

Hello!
Hello phoenix
what does Emeril say?
hi inge and Phoenix
bichon, when he adds his spice mixture to his cooking he says ba**; which isn't a word according to enable; but adding the gerund ending IS a word
Emeril says (as he throws flavoring into the dish he is making) Ba*! Ba*!
ty Annie and Nef, don't watch much cooking on TV I guess

Last two - be 8/65 and ra 6/21 clues please
<delurks> Nef, you need to add the old english form be to other gerunds
I should say, as a prefix.
Rather like berating in form (having checked that isn't there!)
nef, I can't either!
thanks, Sally (I think). I'll think about that a bit. Maybe a cup of coffee might help too.
be9 is a gerund related to the word bemo4
be8 is a gerund describing the process of giving someone a name

Is leasing an optopn, Nef?
Uh, option, even
gotta run to bank. bbl for last 5 words.
We need some serious recall stuff done (whatever a subframe is; it's disintegrating); something is going wrong with the catalitic converter (another thing I have no clue about) and the lug on a tire is damaged and they can't put the lugnut back on.
Bye Mixi

I think something is wrong with my log pages. It should show 3:54 pm and it's still noon hour.
hmmm that is odd
Merk, where are you at? We are still in the same time zone :)
I have been traveling from Phoenix to the Mexican border. When I got an internet connection, it started scrolling through the whole morning's log to get caught up to now. I finally refreshed it.
my time is correct Merk. Did you try refreshing?
I did get fireworks in the meantime, if it credits me anyway. Weird!
ab6/24 = ready, wi*****, and ab**** (gerund ending
mine does that when i first log on if my computer was in hibernate merk
the first time it did it i ended up replying to things that had been said hours before! :-)
OK, I've done it before, but this has never happened to me.
so does mine, Merk. I forget to turn it off and it has to catch up from all night
Well, I'd better get some other computer work finished while I'm logged on. I want to get my money's worth of internet time. Have a good afternoon and hopefully see you tomorrow.
i never can get that word to work nef
bye Merk Happy Babbling (I hope you aren't driving and on the internet!)

i want to finish my returns so i can go to the herb block awards on april 15
DARN! entering lots of chat in the WORD box doesn't work!
Hi peri and Good Enough
lol it doesn't make it kinda lonely talking to the word box!
*does
hi nef
what are the herb block awards
bbs
herb block was a great political cartoonist and after he died all his money went to honor cutting edge political cartoonists and for college scholarships and such.
http://www.loc.gov/rr/print/swann/herb lock/
GE, I was doing my quarterly stats last night and finally gave up because I couldn't seem to get the numbers to turn out right. So I plan to go in tonight and do them when i can be all alone (and yes, on my day off too)
anyway i have gone to the awards every year so far
working in the office alone has distinct advantages
how did you first start going to them jmc?
my sister worked with herb at the washington post and one of her good friends was made the foundation president
nice!
i got to see obama speak when he was first elected senator
at last 1/2 way!
*runs to lickety*
i asked a question and then got a phone call. must go back and read chog to catch up
*waits for good to catch up*
waiting..... waiting......
that sounds fun jmc. I felt i should know what/ who he was
*taps foot*
;-) hee!

just toss out the baskets good they will only attract mice
I need to get a new (or newer) car and no extra $$$ for it
ah! my son always helps me find one on line before we go look
teenager beckons for ride, bbs
hb
I found out this noon that there are 2 very serious things wrong with our car and 1 semi-minor thing
yikes serious like dangerous to drive? or dangerous to drive long distance?
well, the catalitic converter is serious to the environment, the sub frame may fail any day; and I don't know what happens if you don't have a lugnut on a wheel
lugnut is easy fix
sheesh you put a 50 cent lug nut on a wheel
depending on yr of car, catalitic converter may not even be necessary (like to be legal)
(and I don't know what a sub frame or catalytic converter do; but the mechanic said it's going to take lots of time
I would drive it until it stopped while looking for a car i wanted and could afford
don't get them fixed if the cost is more than the value of the car nef
that is how i got my saab
nope the bolt is stripped. the previous guys messed it up and it won't go on any more
evening all...time for the first of two breaks this evening
well if it is just one of five lug nuts it is not great but it is also not a crisis
hi NB
Is there only one lug nut missing? (are there supposed to be 5 on yours?)
(that's the lugnut I was talking about
Hi NB
car talk NB
Guten Tag, fellow sufferers. Help for ra 6/21, right after the precipitation
NB, I love your hair! Grat pic!
I know Jmc, I almost passed out! I've been serving drinks to increasingly camp men all evening. this sudden burst of macho-ness is startling ;)
thanks, Nef! nearly cried cutting it off. love it now though!
ra6 ra* is a kind of music + bl*** is a Russian crepe
inge, ra* music and lingu*** pasta
hello, all :-)
hi, Unea :)
hi Unea
NB, my car is falling apart
mine fell apart once, Nef. it was the best party i ever went to
Nef, I can certainly sympathize -- right around Xmas I had to replace the battery, the alternator, and some belts PLUS my microwave died!
I hate cars! LOL
I don't know much about cars; but I know enough to take it in. AND that when the mechanic looks worried and said it's serious (at the dealership) -that's bad
don't ever take it to a dealership. They'll rape you
I can't abide with them - when mine packed in, finally, we used it like a sledge - pushing it up hills, all piling in then rolling down. very irresponsible. lots of fun though.
well there is the first mistake i never take my car to the dealer unless it is under warrantee
excellent, NB!!! LOL
I had to take it to the dealership. There was a recall on the sub frame. And of course ours is failing. :-/
true, dealers are evil
phoenix you are my kind of guy
Go to Car Talk, Nef--they have recs for reliable repair places
great suggestion, jayk!
Unless you live in some really strange place
Got it. Thanks
if there is a recall they have to fix it at no cost to you. assume the rest is BS they are telling you to get teh money to make up for the cost of fixing it
I usually go through AAA certified repair shops or Angie's list for help.
Toyota dealership tried to rip me off to the tune of $7000--thank God for Toyoteachs!
forget the catalytic converter and the lug nut is a red herring if i ever heard one
techs
totally agree with jmc!
it was the best party ever, Unea! we all camped out there afterwards and took the thing apart. nuts!
how fab!! :-)
what a necessary evil cars are! especially if you're a woman and know zilch--yes, sexist statement
the catalytic converter and lug nut I knew about before I went. My usual mechanic (a friend of my son's who's a certified mechanic) had just told me all of that last evening
oh no jayk. I, too, know zilch.
clue for last word please; BE 8.65 , after starts
so to recap: nef tell them to fix the sub frame and not a single thing else
best thing about living in london is not needing one
so true, NB -- all the time I lived in France, I NEVER wished for a car!
be 8/65 = be + na6/27
best thing about living in London is your hair stylist, NB!
i am a woman and know a lot! i dropped the motor on my vw bug, changed the oil and battery for car after car

there are munchkins here. I am one. it is my life's ambition to grow taller ;)
must have been cause i was trying to catch the wrong person!
well there's your problem right there good! i am not kje! lol
the car is a 2002 sedan with 120,000 miles on it. I'm a member of an environmentalist community group (so can't ignore the catalytic converter!); and it's becoming clear to us that DH needs to use his handicapped scooter more. It's a PIA to take the scooter apart and lift it in and out of the car, and we are planning a trip to Montana this summer and hopingI could drive this car there. It isn't going to make it now
was thinking the same thing, good! LOL

Im not a history buff
well the people who didn't think we should have the revolutionary war were the loyalists. that's me.
it's nice having two-hundred-year-old politics - you never get into arguments about them.
im embarrassed to say because they are not good for you - but use what every you want - butter or margerine - melt and add cracker meal - let it get browned and add already cooked greenbeans
mi 8 please? -- tried everything I could think of that would go with the factory
works very well for cauliflower too ( my moms favorite)

with 86 left, I really am having a difficult time with this one!!
I am ba 7/44 out on this grid now,but here's story of clues with some of the words I got so far. When I got home I asked myself if I should be 5/18 babbling with such a big grid. I be 5/18 babbling anyway, although I should have paid some bi 5/14 instead.Even though the grid was big, it didn't put me through the mi 4/5 and it didn't make me mo4/5 & groan like some grids Another grid unfinished; I bl 4/10 my rankings again. My rank has been bl 5/22 for a long time. My job and hubby are not en8/60 me to finish many grids.Hubby makes many gl 4/8 remarks about babble. Hubby is a pa4/4 in the arse whenever I Babble.Babble does not bring a gl 4/10 to his face like mine. He has a bad im 5/16 of Babble and wi4/8 not wa4/9 up to it.He isn't even wi 7/52 to give it a try. He doesn't understand the ma 4/5 concept of Babble. Well I'm no way ne4/4 done with the puzzle, but I'm not bothering to finish because my brain is starting to sl 4/8 down. I wi 4/8 wr 4/9 up this story of clues by saying goodnight to everyone.Enjoy the rest of your nite. See ya manana
wow Min.. that is quite the entrance
That ni 4/5 word is anagram of pa 4/5 word Boobear.
wow, you really are having a rough time with hubby lately, min
I've been here for a little bit,but maybe you are just seeing me now. Anway, I am making an exit right now
Good night Min. Great story. I hope the part about your husband's attitude is just a work of fiction to create the clues.
thanks Minver! I am pretty sure Minvers Hubby is pretty understanding.
now down to 82.
hi red
If I just counted correctly, 14 of the 7 letter words have the gerund suffix.
A bunch of the 6, 8 and 9 letter words do too.
hi barb. the gerund is what made the grid large.
98 to go
hmmm wonder where my hubby is....still not home
hi guys..think i can get my last 89 in 20 min., lol?

hi Dorens
hello everyone
Hi Doren...how have you been? I haven't seen you in a week or so.
hi dorens and TO and scrabbs!
i've been ok... sort of in mourning (lost my job) and not really okay about it yet.
hey Dorens, TO, Boobear
Hellow Scrabs and TO and Dorens.
oh no dorens, sad....
So sorry to hear that!
on the other hand, i can't complain, going to mexico tomorrow morning for five days of kayaking, snorkeling, bikeriding, seeing mayan ruins, etc
Sorry to hear that Dorens.
About the job, not the trip to Mexico.
our governor has been smoking crack.. cut over $820 million in aid to education... all over the state people are making horrible cuts to their budgets, and raising taxes, which he promised not to do
well, that should be nice!
Hi Owl
hello, all. I'm so sorry to hear about your job, dorens!
Oh, no, Doren! You are SO good at what you do!
i meant the vacation dorens....
hi fuquay.
Hi FV
well, no one will be doing it at all in wanaque.. we are the only district i know to totally eliminate counseling and i am angry about it.
What are prospects for new position, Doren?
i always think "they" have the necessities and the luxuries confused..education should not be expendable
Kids/parents need counseling + support! Kids are SO at risk "these" days.
worse than grim. other districts are cutting back, positions are not being advertised, and honestly with the economic climate the NJ schools are in now, NO one will hire a 60 year old at this point. and i'm only certified to work within schools
am6 + 7 clue please?
NY state is heading towards insolvency--if I were young I would leave.
am6 is a fish scrab. (or maybe much too small to be a fish)
hi everyone
am6-a one-celled fish
It's one thing if moving on to a new phase of life is your own decision; quite another to have it forced o you, huh.
hi welki
One-celled organism--TY!
(one celled organism .. you probably looked at them under a microscope in bio 101)
Hi welki
sorry to hear about your job, dorens :(
that and the fact that i don't have the requisite 25 years yet for full pension
ouch
No, no, no, Doren! Aaaaaaahhh.
i was booted. doren, sorry to hear your news. do you finish out the year?
Is am7 related?
well if everyone who could would write letters to the state legislature, maybe they will fight this madman and not allow the cuts. yes, owl, my contract is up June 30th every year.
yes scrabs
stumped on that am7
I looked it up, Owl. TY
doren, perhaps things will change as time goes on.
hello all, help with pi6/21 pls
am7 = relating to am6 (not plural)
Hi Peri
have you considered the corporate world?
the end would be the same three letters as a protest, *** The Bomb!
it's possible owl... anything can happen up to September first.. keeping fingers crossed don't think the corporate world is to eager to train a 60 year old with no experience, do you?
Hi Peri
like eap s?
thanks welki, i was NOT finding that
clue for ra 6/21
the magic word is consultant, doren
my firend makes a smuch giving two seminars per month as working full time
but i have no experience that would qualify me to consult on anything in the corporate world
hi peri, like the voracious, toothy fish
are you not a guidance counselor? emplyee assistance programs?
life coaching?
ty fuqua
EAPs hold seminars on various things like dealing with elder care, stress mgt, etc

My attorney sister (49) lost her job recently too.

Hi Dan. 34 wks?
your sister is begging?!
i guess i could look into that, not sure exactly how and where (and when, since my job "might" come back
Does anyone want clues before I go.

ri6 pls
ri6 pls
will your district have any counselors left?
ri6 getting angry
ty, got it
What about SWs and "guidance counselors"?
none (there are only two of us... i'm the more experienced one, with seniority... the other is having a baby end of June, so was going on maternity leve for a year or so)
isshe also let go?
peraps the parents will protest?
the SW is overworked, on child study team, lots of meetings, don't see how she could fill even a part of this gap. the other counselor is also let go... i thought i was going to have both our jobs/. just shocked to find that we're both gone
Geez, after feeling crappy all day from a migraine I finally feel good and it's time to go to bed. I was off today and it was wasted with pain.
Good night folks. Good luck Dorens.

Hi pippin

brb
thanks folks. with the 3 i got it.
what is up with you pippin?
some poophead stole $200 out of my bag tonight while i was at the bar
I am not the best cluer joey but I keep trying until something works or someone takes pity on the poor cluee
it did work..... thanks
that is terrible!!! did they leave your ID?
during the course of my first drink - i am furious
I bet you are. $200 is a lot of money.
still have id and credit card, stolen mney out of my check book thingy from work
i am sorry to hear that pippingeek. did you lose anything else?
did you lose work money then ?
just work money, pretty much two days worth
that's rotten! (Hi all)
that is aweful pippin
hi jill
plus i got so mad i cried at the bar and i hate myself for that
Hi jilli!
(((hug))) pippin...feel better and just wait they will get what is do to them at some point
make that due
when I feel that bad I try to figure out how it could have been worse. It makes it easier to accept the loss
hello everyone - back for the flip :)
we'll see if the cameras pick up anything and if it's someone they can get it back from... doubtful
hi nan
and Barb is right, their sin will always find them out even if it takes years
can I ask a small favor of everyone tonight
hi nan, pippin
surely Barb
my husband is going for a CatScan tomorrow...this is his 3 year of a recheck on his cancer...we are hoping it is still gone...just thoughts or prayers if you are so inclined that all goes well...there is one lymph node they are watching closely
my good thoughts are going out to you right now. i am very empathetic. had to see the oncologist today
they will watch him for 5 years...although they will never class him as cured as there is no cure for gallbladder cancer. Just hoping it never travels anywhere else
sorry to hear about your trouble, pippin
I hope all goes well, Barb
I am honoured to be included as one of the people on his side. I asked for Babble people for prayers when my severely disabled nephew nearly died of Swine flu and that was the day he began to recover!
is everything ok Joey? should we put you in our thoughts too?
thanks grem
last word, en 8...... please.
thanks joey thanks all
en8 - making functional
Yes joey, I have not had an update from you lately
not yet, Barb. i am having a problem with my hormone levels and haven't been able to start on an after cancer care program because they can't figure out what i should be on. my lymphedema is more or less under control, now if I could only get my strength and stamina back and the bad taste out of my mouth. my feet still hurt, but other than that i am great!!!
gremlin, sorry, doesn't do it for me.
Barb's Horses, prayers will be said for him and your family. The energies that this group of people has is awsome.
our thots and prayers are with you too joey.
yes joey hoping the figure it all out soon. I know what it is like to be tired all the time too
oh, never mind, i got it. firewords for me.
en 8 ends in gerund and means to help someone too much
YAY joey!
thanks gape...it is so nice just to have people to bounce things off ....so to speak
yeah joey
i am having a bit of fun with it, the next thing i have to do is see an infertility specialist. he is also an endocrinologist.
think I will just wait for the flip
yeah, sometimes you just need people around you can just say the stuff to
en 8 -- someone suggested that it is what the babble dictionary does -- personally, I think that clue should have a 'dis' in front of it
those guys can be good joey, even if you don't want to get pregnant
I thought of cluing it that way, but not everyone knows what the dictionary name is
for me that is very true pippin...I always do better when I talk out my thoughts
not gonna bother with the flip, just need some sleep. did i mention i worked 64 hours last week?
wow -- long week, pip
I thot it was funny that a man would see the positive side of the word and woman saw the downside definition. :)
oh my get some rest pippin...mabye see you tomorrow
must be looking forward to some time off!
i would be more excited about my time off if i could actually keep my money
next time you will put it in your bra pippin
and i don't know how long i'm going to be out of work, s it's a little scary. but i'll work it out, in the grand scheme of things this is a fraction of the moey i have sved
my friend mentioned that, but after the first martini i have a tendency to lose the bra! apparently i need a better hiding spot...:)
hang in there pip...
