FLIP!
oh no..
flip
ugghhh
i am so not going to do this poof
despite it's low number, the words aren't that hard so far.
hi and nbt
Clues are up
ty lickety
thx lickety
phant eschew
nice find, josh
(that didn't make sense, but you know what I mean) I'm tired
Thank you, Lickety!
not chutney, drat it.
fireworks, no list
wtg mpd
gj, need just the 8 here
wow, just got the 8
ha, timing
which means...I know the first letter, but not the second, hmmm
i did not know that was a real word
so
8 was my last also
ah, got it, knew it was probably a compound
I knew it was a word
not that commonly used though
thx guys
learned no new words today
phants: deejay, chegoes, eschewed
I think that if so8 is a word, jedi should be as well. because it makes me mental everytime I enter it and it isn't recognized....ok, I am a dork. lol
sure is a strange word
jeepney too
hello everyone -- found the first 25 easily enough, but stalled already
need 3 more for nbt
segwhey: transportation for farmers of the future
moosepie
fireworks last word we5/22
wtg josh
grats, josh
no definition for that word. looks german to me
How do you guys finish so fast?
typing classes
I am good with the words, but you all amaze the crap out of me
speaking for myself
nothing like partying with the whiz kids!
I found one source that says we5 means "weight"
stats for the a's plz?
Miz: I've played Boggle for about 12 years - eventually some aspects of the game get almost automatic
i.e. getting one word and getting a bunch of other words that often come with it
I used to play Boggle (it's one of my favorite games); however, no one ever wants to play it with me :(
ae5/12, as4/4
thx grem
i know that feeling very well, pini
it's those weird, non-english words that get me
oy (should've know the one!)
where did you play grem?
yeah, eventually you just have to commit them to memory
I have played on Boggle (old games.com), Word Racer, Tangleword, Facebook Scramble, and weboggle/Wordsplay
Word Racer was where I started
I play some of those, too, but prefer playing the real game...that's the one no one will play anymore
ah, me too
Compared to the people around me, I am awesome, but next to you guys, I am not worthy
that's how I feel, miz
It's kind of a bummer in real life - all the cubes don't line up right, and you have to write stuff down on paper, etc.
true, grem...but, well, it still has an element of "human" attached to it
(no offense to any of the online games)
night everyone - good luck
best compromise: play in a private room online on two computers right next to each other
night josh!
true, grem...
Although, my true forte is speed games that require serious multi-tasking and being faster than other people. I don't do strategy
I like to play with other people because of the social aspect. I like people and it's a lot easier and quicker to talk than it is to type
can you play Boggle and follow a conversation at the same time?
I think that's why I like playing here...there's a "human" aspect attached...
not on FB, grem...
Never tried, grem
I can do that, but not, for example, do some creative writing at the same time as listening to a conversation - that crosses me up way too easily
must require use of some of the same brain circuits or something
stats for the lower left e?
ec 4/6
thx grem
40/25, better call it a night for now...
thx for the convo! cya tmw ;)
night...I am close behind at the halfway mark
why is jo6 accepted?
haven't seen any calls -- what is the 8?
so8
ty grem -- a plural?
no, a compound of two 4s in the puzzle
stupid word
any hints for the ae5,12
similar to assistants
who even says 'so8'?
what is the 7?
people with brain injuries
why not, Flosey (granted, I have no idea what jo 6 is)
It's usually proper
fireworks
yay flosey!
Miz, I've only seen it capitalized
congrats, flosey
guess I will list -- not getting anywhere with the last 16
I couldn't have finished without lickety
ah -- found the owner of the coat
nan, have you ever heard it used as a common word?
no
It's a cloak
a long coat worn by women as part of riding habit in colonial america
the jo?
yes Miz, jo6
huh, that was my dad's name
yup
I reverse dictionaried it
13 and definitely listing now
17 here to go
A grid that more than makes up in anger for what it lacks in size
I'd rather have 300 real words
*!* ta da *!* -- a lot of new ones for me tonight
last 2 are oe's
wtg nan
Moses is in the grid, but he isn't a word
yet jo6 is!
fireworks!
goodnight!
wtg Miz
thanks!
nan and MizHoffle most indisputably rock! (like they didn't know that)
oe's are an alternate sp for the e 5-6 combo
good night everyone -- early tee time if it doesn't rain (with 80% pop it doesn't look very promising)
good luck nan
has jilli shown up yet?
was out for a bit, hubby just came in so stopped for tea
Hi all -- here I am :)
hi jilli, how did you do at bridge tonight
30 words, 4 blank tiles, brain frumbing. See that I mean?
Not sure, but not too bad, I think -- missed you!
I see we have much the same writeup here ;)
ty - I enjoy these exercise classes but finding 3 a week a bit much - takes the rest of the day to recover!
hi guys
yes, we have! same source.
Oh, that's rough!
hi niks
hi nik
I see you finished this baby -- is it kinder than the last two?
think you'll need lickety jilli, a few strange words
jo6 you'd expect to be capitalized
Is Lickety up?
yes
Ah, I gather he is -- and it's another meanie :(
whoops its me I accidently logged in to Nicky's page but i have fixed it now
strange words today
hi sandyloo

Hello jilli. I haven't found them yet, but I'm told this grid has two oe's in it. Just thought you ought to know
I cant find those oe's either , but I live in hope

wtg peri!

now I am stuck with 24 left
I have 24 left as well, but I'm not particularly revved up about hunting each one down like a dog
21 left now and going back to bed
21 left now and going back to bed
21 left now and going back to bed

wtg jilli
we are up to the bit where the father is desparate to get his pills and he has been arrested
wtg jilli
morning all. Why are the grids so small while I am ill, and so big when I am well enough to do chores?
and fireworks that 8 cant be a word
gratz jilli and diem
hi Sprite, are you still not well....seems to be hanging on?
morning sprite
night all
yeah lack the energy to battle it fully, it seems. Today is a bit better though, and I am going to get me some sun and exercise,if only 15 minutes.
good icons and writeups, jilli and flosey!
how long have you been unwell? You should come here we have lots of lovely sunshine
Thanks, sprite (I had left but came back for a peek)
oh sandyloo, there was something I still wanted to tell you: hego suggested a flower icon day as recurring theme and I thought it would be nice to alternate it with your pet icon theme. I hope it is ok with you?
ongoing sickness for last 3 months, nothing big but rather unpleasant.
good idea, amazing you remember that! I must get back into the icons I love that
as always a pleasure to see you, jilli
Sprite, that is sooo bad, you poor thing
hehehe I am queen of themes... my only claim on royalty. I try to stay on top of it ;)
sprite, your aalii writeup is the best yet!
aw thank you jilli!
I emailed Lickety and asked him again if he could put you in Resources as the Icon Theme person, but he didn't respond. Thee are a couple of other little glitches in Expert these days I hope he can fix, but maybe they're because of other updates.
I guess Lickety has really his hands full at home.
I guess so, although I gether mrp can walk (limp) now.
Hello everyone
*gather
hi lynxxx
hi lynxx
that is an improvement anyway. Still, too many crises in too short a time will demand their price
hi lyn :)
I really have to go to bed so I'll bid farewell to all you lovely people and begone -- *poof*
Jilli, but if Lickety did any updates, woulldn't he have to send the new version to everyone. That would take up a lot of his time I guess
sleep well jilli
night Jilli
Lickety is probably having to carry Pres around -taking her shopping , cooking dinners etc
with mrP, the children, work, the house and hopefully some moments of football or music, he won't have much time to spare
nor energy
His current work involves a lot of night work too
His current work involves a lot of night work too
that should make babble the last of his worries
wow lyn, I found the ocean word myself :)
lol, I was going to say something too
hehehe
we ARE learning!
not me I don't think I have it and no clues please
sandy, it is not that it is such a weird or difficult word, just that lyn and I both continually missed it.
aaah
no - I don't miss that one - I miss frog and golf and acne and area (getting better with that one) and a thousand others!
yay lyn!
is that so 8 really a word, it looks wierd
something like 'so far ago from Frisco'
Id like to see it in a sentence
see urban dictionary, sandyloo
20 left and i am putting the lists up now, I can go no further without them
it means as much as never, lol
I googled it Sprite, LOL, eg "when will you grow up?" answer: so8
exactlly! :D
I think that is a good clue
yeah it would be if you wouldn't use the second part of the word, lollll
now i'm using the list, i can't believe the ones that I missed
lol
like ed5/16 when I had ed4/7
ouch
down to 20 too and saving for the morning - hate mornings without Babble and coffee. Bye Sprite & Sandy
have a nice evening, lyn, and sleep well
bye lynxx
what time is it for you , Sprite?
10.32 in the morning
4.32pm here
weird idea, isn't it? And I believe it is still later for lyn.
hello, hows everyone.
it is probably 6.30 for her
it's 1:33 am here lol
hello no
hello nomatter
where are you , nom?
az, usa
you aussies are getting ready for dinner when I get ready for breakfast. And wh4 you say: what are your plans for today? I can say: how was your day? Always makes my head spin, grin.
and you guys in the states still have to catch up with us, lol
I have been on the ride on mower mowing a small paddock and raking up the left over grass, and it just about killed me -more exercise than I needed
and yes I have the lamb roasting
it always twists my head too. i just find it really weird but intriguing
nom, I haven't seen you before , are you new to babble?
I wish I had a Scotty that could beam me over, sandy.
and Sprite, I wondered if you have had any emails from Rolin lately/
no haven't seen her in ages
She sent me an interesting email , I will ask her if I can forward it to you.
ok thanks
i'm not, i've been on and off for a long time but ineveer really do the chat thing much... i'm starting to a little now though
it's nice to see you in chat th4, nomatter
I have been off for about 10 months but I'm back now, and chatting is fun with all the lovely people here
I missed you around, sandyloo! So glad you are back again, and even more glad it is because things are a little better with you and your daughter. Fireflies and I have to be off. Have fun, both of you.
Sprite, an interesting piece of trivea (from a startrek fan) the words 'Beam me up Scotty" were never used on the show
and bye for now
:D
helloo from an insomniac
what time for you jae, 4.50pm here
3:52AM CDT
We in the USA just about get the last of the current day, don't we?
I hate it when I can't sleep and I have babbled then , as well
yes, you do, I have relatives in Florida
Yeah. Tell me about it! LOL!
I am in Mississippi on the Gulf Coast- "Katrinaland"
My daughter is watching the Bold and the Beautiful - what a load of crock!! She and my mother love it
I HATE soaps...they are so phony!!! tee hee
How did you do then Jae? We watched it on television and cried all the time
I was always saying, PLeeeaase...."
What! You mean you don't think that B&B is a reflection of real life!!LOL
Haha! Neither is All MY Children- I am most cognisant of ABC
Or is it cognizant?
I have always wanted to eat 'grits' , I have always wondered what they are
Hi

jo6 - he of the dreamcoat
Greetings all!
Ah, thanks! Completely failed to try that even though I *know* what I think of as names aren't always!
Hello FM!
Hi FM!
It is t-shirt weather here today, so warm and sunny! Hi Haz and MG!
It was here, too, but now there's a grey wall coming in...
I'm sticking to my long sleeves - drizzly again today. It's bound to improve soon, isn't it?
and a good grid today too although a few unusual words.
It gets tough near th eend.
I think you should get the better weather is a few days but they were forecasting more rain for you coming overnight and into tomorrow.
I think the farmers will be glad of it - they want heat and rain to get the grass started growing properly.
mmm rain - 1 lot of rain here in over 2 weeks.
Oh my Tesco's grocery delivery has arrived back in 5!
The fun part of the week - putting away the groceries.
Hi all....new pic Haz?
It was a delivery of all the bulky and heavy stuff, makes life so much easier. Hi Flask.
Hello Flask - yes, new picture of Spangle,it reflects how she's feeling!
Can anyone help with my last word? It's the mo5 after the giant birds.
mo5 - past tense of the cow sound
pt of the cow noise MG
Oh DUH!!! Thank you, and fireworks.
Congratulations!
Congrats!
Thanks! But now what am I going to do? Things are pretty slow at th eInstitute just now (not in general, but today very much so).
Argh, anyone know where I have put the charger for my mobile? *goes off in search*
Guess I'll get on with paperwork. Have fun, everyone!
Bye MG.
Found it.
That was quick.
so8 please?
I lookin the crate that has all my eletronic cabling first and then remember I had put the charger in a drawer so I wouldn't lose it *le sigh*
It's a strange one, Flask - two separate words which put together make a vague reference to a time. Think of one of the songs from West Side Story, 'There's a place for us' and change one of the words a bit.
that is a weird one
Judi Garlands Wizard of Oz song but instead the last 4 letter use a time reference.
Isn't it?
very weird indeed, thanx Haz!
good clue tho, as always ;-]
Hi Esprit
You're welcome!
hi FM
clue for we5/24 please?
we5/24 - put the thin end into a type of sandal.
sorry!...got it!
No problem - and plurals too.
ack phone and then I must get so4 lunch so back in a bit.
yes....I saw that too, thanx!
pen t
See you later, FM. I'm about to take Spangle out for a walk.
Bye all!
bye haz
good morning everyone;)
hi crossy and all
howdy bichon
Good morning everyone
howdy seaspray
Hiya Crossy
Looks like we're going back to D.C. for some more hockey
t.b.h other than babble and a nightly movie on the dvd player, life has been hectic and ive not followed the hockey this year
hello friends. okay - anybody remember when alec baldwin was on SNL and did all those NPR spots? His last name is a phantom today....
game 7 between Mtl and Caps tomorrow night...should be another good one
ah yes, his tasty balls :-)
gooooo canadiens!
classic spots for sure!
Ta, une!!!
and how are you, my kindred spirit?
ok, and you?
I am just fine. had a very great, and then very sad weekend, but on the whole, life is good.
sad? :-(
krystalnacht in the hen house - something ate 5 out of my 6 chickens, whilst I was out having a wonderful tea with an old friend. HATE when life does that! poor chickens! and the poor little one who was left behind has the poultry equivalent of PTSD.....
ooohhh, i remember reading that in the chog -- so very sorry, trif . . .
what a terrible shock to come home to that . . .
I am trying to be normal about it. Farm life....the kids of course want to run out and get more chicks, but I am actually sort of relieved that the expense is reduced. I don't want to tell the kids we can't afford to keep hens anymore, but honestly, I can't. It was a horrible way for them to meet their ends, but actually a financial blessing, too.
right . . . but still . . . :-(
gads, that makes me sound so awful and heartless! I assure you, I really am not....trying to find the silver lining, I guess
i remember the nightmare of keeping 20 layers;(
big hugs to you
not heartless at all, trif -- understandable that you're trying to find a silver lining
hey, crossy :-)
20 is a lot, crossy! I think 17 was our all time high, a few years ago, and then a weasel visited. in the end, it's just hard to keep hens around here, as coyote and predator infested as we are.
hello all
hey, lynn :-)
if its not changing the water every hour because its full of poop, you shovelling the building out and putting fresh bedding in,then eating their own egss cause you dont collect fast enough and one steps on an egg and they get a taste for it.now you have to buy grit and clam shell.heatiing in winter.them getting their feet frozen in the water dish, rickets, mange, varmits and on and on
hello lynn!
((now has the theme song to "green acres" stuck in head....))
une, your icon photo is lovely! is that near you? a tibouchina maybe?
it's a pic i found online BUT I actually have some beautiful clematis blooming right now that look very much like that!
ok, pups must go out to pee -- back in a mo! :-)
hehe
im so losing this game!
when
hang in there lynn!
to the pb my dear
size down that profile pic lynn, its too big to view easily
and too many of those make the chg crawl;)
hmmm......!
chog
talking chooks, we have them and there have been a number of times the fox has got them, but my husband build a chookyard with the wire mesh over the roof and floor now no foxes get them and they wander all over the farm during the day
foxes are not nice they kill all the chooks and rip their heads off and just leave them
yes, our set up is very similar, sandy, and we do let the chickens out during the day, which is when they were tagged. it's unusual, as predators around here are usually dawn/dusk feeders, but perhaps whoever it was has a litter of babies to feed, so hit at an unexpected time.
and we have NOTHING left, just feathers, feathers, feathers. it looks like a sorority pillow fight happened out there, which makes me think coyotes v foxes or hawks
the only predators we have here in australia are foxes so that is a good thing
foxes kill for fun
really, sandy? I would have thought that snakes would go at chickens too, or at least the baby chicks, but no?
btw, my sister in law, her husband, and their 8 yo daughter live in perth - don't know if we ever had that convo....
we do have snakes but maybe they could get the chicks but haven't heard of it. they do take eggs (as does our border collie
I know people who have lost their horses to snakebites
am watching New Zealand's Next Top Model - don't like their strange accents
I have to watch this rubbish, my daughter likes it
that is sad about the chickens, trif. We have foxes here, but never in our yard as our dogs are good "discouragers". However, one neighbor feeds them stuff from the local abattoir so they are so tame that they come into another neighbor's yard in the daytime. I think it's wonderful, but she doesn't.
there goes my babble alarm. dread. off to add value. have a fine morning/day/evening my babble friends, until time and tides brings us together again....
bye trif
****big kiss!****
a nearby donkey got killed by a viper bite, the only poisonous thing around here
foxes only come at night here, the dogs do run down the back and I suspect foxes then
sometimes I can smell them in the morning; I've developed a nose like a dog!
lol ruby I am picturing that
when my ears get furry, I'll start to worry
I wonder what a 'babble alarm' is -does it go off when you have been on too long? hmm I think maybe a lot of us need one
does anybody have a hint for either the 7 or the 8 (or both!)
I think I've reached my limit at 37
ooo I have the 8 - now here's a clue: ask the question "when are you going to grow up" the answer is so8
good morning all - wow another small grid today
hello mom! small and nasty, just like me! hahah
funny ruby
sandy, I got the 8 from your clue, thanks. I almost didnt type it because I thought that cant be a word. Silly me.
hmmm maybe I haven't grown up yet....
Hello everyone
hi annie
hi ruby, How are the dogs?
Ruby is limping much less, thank you, what a relief!
hi annie
I was scared to death about her
ruby, Such a worry when a pet is not doing well. Glad to hear she is coming along better.
What happened to her paw ruby?
got the so8, ty sandy, but never heard of such a word
I have the 7 too , am just looking for it
she limped for more than a week and I kept inspecting paw, shoulder, ankle, etc. in her evening massages. She didn't ever flinch. Finally took her to vet yesterday (to the tune of close to $300!!!) and he took x-rays and found a little bit of arthritis in her shoulder
2 days meds and she's much better
her chin was hitting the floor, if you can imagine!
I guess that is part of being old ruby, we have that problem with the old horses too
sad
but she's only 7 1/2!
here she comes....
I have the 7 , it is a plural of the ed5/14
sorry , no its not
hahah
its the plural of the oe6/24
ruby , what is the average life for a chow
ty for the oe, got two. We've been very unlucky with our chows, but 10 or 11 is probably it. We've lost two very young
they are terribly inbred, especially the black ones
heloo, that so8 is a ridiculous word
heloo, that so8 is a ridiculous word
hello even
hi peri!
what kind of dogs do you have sandy?
hi peri
FIREWORKS
congrats sandra!
congrats, sandra!
thanks. any clues neede before i go
we have two jack russels and one border collie, they are very well trained and very smart, but in different ways - the jacks love doing tricks and the border thinks carefully about everything
you must have a lot of space!
the jacks are 11 and 9 (mother and daughter) border is 11
we have 8 acres
chows are not noted for their intelligence and only do what they please, so can't be trained. However, they are very clean and, if they love you, know exactly what you want
am off to sit and relax in the garden in this lovely weather
that's huge!
and it is only 17 minutes from the heart of the city
I just planted 12 impatiens in one of the borders, an annual cheat for the holes
sandra where are you?
that sounds perfect!
in england just outside london
our weather is wonderful at the moment, warm as toast in the day and cold at night
was hoping for a bigger easier grid today
so if you have good weather today, sandra, our good weather will continue for 2 more days!
me, too, peri
so was I peri, these small ones frustrate me
hello seaspray! How are you feeling?
bye all
i haven't seen a big grid for quite a while
bye sandra
bye
I like the big ones much better; they're juicier!
Very well ruby and you?
hahaha, Ruby! I see what you mean - this is like picking the meat off a bone
enjoying the good weather and I think my son is coming to visit in mid-May, so that's a good thing
they are ruby, I have 15 left here (for the last 4 hours) I must stop chatting
woof!
But, my son requested home made bean soup, so I will be at the stove today lol
That's wonderful ruby
I'm going to go and read the paper with 24 left. What a good mom, seaspray.
bye everybody, nice chatting with you. Maybe see you later
lol yes ruby and he doesn't even live here
bye ruby
hagd ruby!
bye annie
ty
good morning dear babblers
I can't stay and play today but wanted to give you all one clue, for what I consider a non-word.
Hi (((Mom)))
{{Annie}} good morning
So** day my prince will come + **** you wish upon a star ..... my tribute to Walt Disney :)
Hi Mom...will gladly accept all clues :)
Hi Seaspray
Mom, Isnt that the silliest? I almost didnt type it when sandyloo gave the clue before.
it is a really silly word.
I monkeyed a word earlier only to find it has no meaning???
now I must go .... hope to be back on in the late afternoon. {{Hugs}} to all of you
Sea, there are a lot of words like that in Enable
Bye Mom!
bye bye Annie
Bye Mom and ty
bye bye Seaspray, you are so welcome
fireworks
hooray for Annie

I would please - the oe's
Mom, the british spelling when your body retains fluids.

i'm out of practice!
Hi Pippin
some of these are hard
how are you hego?
I'm good Pippin. Climbed any rocks lately?
it's been about a week, been travelling
Scribe, some are just silly.
i think so, too-without clues i'd never make it!
i'd like to go today but i have a major dental thing at 2 so we'll see how i feel
Pip, just when I think I'm getting better at this, I get a day where I can't get words at all. lol
I need the clues at some point. Try to do as much as I can without them.
Sorry to hear about the tooth thing Pip. Hope it goes well.
if i read the clue, i can't help but try to find it
clue for the yi5 please?
Right
Just started Sea. Sorry and Hi

ye SS
i see the grid is taking proper names today;/
Hi Crossy! How's the guy today?
Hi Crossy
hey, that's halfway for me, yay!
YAY
ready to rock and roll,i have my sleep test tonight, they are gonna wire me for sound lol
see, pippingeek-you're not out of practice either!
scwabbs!
Can't wait to hear about that Crossy.
I had that too, Crossy. Comical actually, the wires attached.
so i met a fella and he wants to take me for a week and give me a stunning florida holiday before i move - i can't decide if i shuld let him or not
you really do not get the depth of sleep that causes the problems cause you are too uncomfortable with all those electrodes lol
i was just thinking that crossy
depends what he wants pippi lol
Whooo hoo Pippin.
Hey! How well do you know this guy?
Pip, how well do you know him?
it's more that he's taking off from his work and i had planned to be online apartment hunting and such
i rarely get women walking up to me and saying "hey! want to go to florida with me? " lol
great minds think alike Scrabs.
Crossy, I slept easily--comfortale setting. Then I returned for test with mask for CPAP--slept even etter.
i know him well enough to know he's not a creep, we've actually known one another tangentially for a decade and have tons of the same friends
i am hoping for a mask or a mouthpiece scrabby, this is too much as it is now
rarely, Crossy, or never?
That sounds better, Pip.
never hego
Aha!
In Feb I switched to the nasal pillows--I prefer them over the mask.
Twll us all about your test tomorrow.
nasal pillows?
i will indeed
Nasal pillows?
snap hego
Cushions rest in nostrils so no mask covering nose.
that brings some funny pictures to mind.
I am a elly sleeper so this is much nicer for me.
snap Crossy
i am a side sleeper,i stop breathing when i lay on my back
Check out Opus nasal pillows. They are an Aussie company, if I recall correctly.
*belly sleeper
All sounds uncomfortable to me.
i'm a belly sleeper too but i don't think i could get down with nasal pillows
and my belly is a tad big to lay on my stomach,id be a teeter-totter lol
And I''m a world class sleeper.
:-D
i have slept 5 hours in the last 2 days;(
not good
no good crossy!
i have slept a lot more than that, but i'm recovering from my holiday
hard to sleep with all the choking and gasping and snoring lol
I am watching 24 from last night. I have lost interest as the story lines have become more implausible.
so they better hook crossy up tonight lol
there is a surgery for that Crossy.
You also need PFTs (pulmonary function tests) to determine how much asthma or COPD are factors.
tbh scrabby i have pretty well given up on cable programming.i watch a movie on dvd or tape,if not for the wife and kid i would not bother with the darn cable
oh i also have that test set up scrabby
Good boy, Crossy.
sleep test called back first
House, I must have House!
but im sure the hosp will call for the other any time now
On tv, that is.
ugh, sinuses. started getting sickish on my 36 hour date with the fella, and haven't been right since saturday
i have 5 seasons of house on disk hego
I love Greg House--he says those things that docs wish they could say to patients.
We'll get you sorted yet, Crossy.
rught Scrabs
36 hr date, Pip?
uh, right
Pip is fascinating today.
yeah, he took me out friday night and didnt bring me back till sunday morning. it was kind of nice
You go girl!
now if only i were both fascinating and able to finish this grid
Can't have everything, Dear.
i love house as well"house he is bleeding though every pore!! WHAT DO WE DO???" (house gobbles 7 vicodin) "give her five pints of bleach dammit and now!" "omg house it worked" (13 bats her eyes and gives subtle come on) camera pans to cuttys cute butt in hooker skirt....
I am up to 27 but am stuck.
so i don't know if i should go because my mom wants to hang out in my last weeks in florida, i should be apt hunting, etc
i am at 28 and pretty well stuck
Silly Cross!
Crossy, every nurse and physician I know watches that show.
but to have a guy who wants to take me out like this and treat me this nice is pretty amazing, it's hard to argue with that
I think it's for the reason Scrabs gave.
It's our fantasy.
and cutty is hot dammit, the ladies can keep 13 lol
Good luck, Pip dear.
Yep. House has no restraint. He is tactless + blunt with patients + families. He deals with reality. No tip-toeing around the facts.
I love Chase, esp with his short haircut!
Of course all hospital administrators dress like that.
he treats the problem and not the patient but it is a good show, the patient is just a breathing piece of meat or "that interesting disease"
I second the motion that Cutty is hot!
No dept chairman or administrator would allow House to be on their staff--bad behavior.
yes, but so is house!
Hi jm
skin tight clothes and low cut tops.
to late jm,i have dibbs on cutty
good morning...just silently lurking until hot women are mentioned!
I kind of like House or I should say Hugh Laurie
Hi JM, you dog, you.
i even liked him with the bad mullet when he did "a bit of fry and laurie" with stephen frye
He's a great musician.
yes, he really is
I like Hugh when he speaks his native Brit.
Me too!
stand back the girls are overheating lol
he was a bit dorky in black adder but pretty to look at
Oh yes!
*hot flashing...must take off pullover*
That we are Crossy.
LOL Scrabs.
anything todistract me from my stopped up nose
How about an antihistamine?
crap, i hate trying to monkey a word that's possible from 2 directions. too many options!
those knock me out and/or give me awful post nasal drip, i usually just use my neti pot but i couldn't cause of the travelling
neti pot is good.
the farm i stayed at had too much iron in the water to feel comfortable using it, and i didn't bring it to the date so i din't have it my last day or 2
neti pot?
sinus irrigation method
a little kettle you use to shove water up your nose. lol
oh a squeeze bulb sort of thing?
Bye some saline solution.
pour lukewarm salt water in one nostril and let it come out the other side, washing thru yr sinuses along the way
Fresh tea for all!
lol pippi id drown
People say it works
there is a squeeze method but it scares me, the classic neti pot just uses gravity
It is very helpful to minimize nasal + sinus problems--get rid of pollen + mucous.
when i want to clear things i get a pot of boiling water and a bottle of that liquid vicsk used for vaporizers
really?
i just use disposable cups when i travel.
but my friend who had a fungal growth (aka tumor) in her sphenoid sinus uses the squeeze bottle version
I passed halfway so time to use the list.
a sinus tumor?? ouch
i have a plastic travel model cause i broke 2 or 3 neti pots previously, and i use the little NeilMed salt packets when i travel, easier than hunting down sea salt
i use nasocort. good old steroids.
NeilMed makes lots of nose stuff
I use nasal antihistamine sprays--Patanase, Astelin, etc
mornin babblers!
I like those also Scrab
Hi Eva
Hi Eva
hi all. any clues for the 7 or 8?
the 7 is an oe, brit spelled bruise pl
sorry to be gross here for a sec ladies, but scrabbs what can be used to stop scabs, swelling and irritation,i blow my nose in the morn and it is full of hard crunchys and blood..sorry again ladies
how are we all today?
crunchies?
Nasal saline spray will help, Cross.
I use that too.
ty scrabbs
crossy, put some neosporin on a qtip and smear it around a few times a day till things get better
ty geek. dont know the word though.
And a humidifer or vaporizer in your room. If you end up with CPAP you can ask for a humidifier hook-up
i have some of that;)
i used to do that when i lived in the cold cause the inside of my nose would crack in winter
mkg put an o in front of ed5 and plural
ed5= swelling, fluid retention
i will rememBer tall that ty scraBBS, ty pippi
ed + anath***
the 8 is a compound word. so 8
Cross, I had that too for a long time. My now husband (who's an HVAC mechanic) installed a humidifier on our furnace and it completely went away.
that's the best way Krysten
well we are over our dry win ter air now,so im hoping for improvement
we are in full spring mode here now....yaaaa!
I find it works year round. It also helps with his (and mine) snoring!
double Yay.
had to stop for a pair of deer on the road the other day, they gave me a dirrty look and moved on lol
ugh, tired
sect
Uh oh!
I like having staring contests with deer.
to the pb hego
or instead of a humidifier, take a trip to my hometown in the summer. Afternoon, all :)
ty for the clue hego!
yup
Give me a toughie, Hego.
what part of Canada are you from Crossy?
Hi NB
lol nb
yw Pip
NB!
Hi NB
i am in central north ontario krysten on the shores of georgian bay at the base of blue mtn,3 hours north of toronto
NB!! dahhhhh-ling!
ladies! and gentleman ;)
well 2.5 really
and EVA! The only gal I'll ever love ;)
nice area, Crossy
very nice indeed hego
*whimpering + pouting that N doesn't love me too*
dearest, i saw a young man in the mall this weekend and almost tripped over my own feel because he was your doppelganger! i thought maybe youd stolen away across the pond without telling me! *pouts*
yes, very mean of him.
I love it up there, Crossy. I try to get north as much as possible but since work is more plentiful south, I stay about 45 east of Toronto.
love the climbing pics Pippin - you're brave!
NB you made a faux pas. lol
lol! no, no favourites for me - 'cept my little sister.
ug too close krysten,so that puts you in scarborough, brampton, missisauga etc
How's the hand, NB?
East of Oshawa really.
you mean I'm not unique, Eva?! I hope you didn't greet him the way you greet me :D
crossy hates the city(except for their wonderful hospitals)
Are you near Honey Harbour?
im in collingwood krysten
good morning all
were it not for his nametag (clearly reading neither jesse nor NB) i may have! (of course, dear fiance may then have been rather confuzzled AND jealous!)
howdy boo
funny you should ask Hego; I just had the stitches out! Which was a bizarre sensation - sort of ticklish...so now nicely bandaged with all the naughty germs drowned by hospital antis***ic! Thanks for asking :D
I listen to TO radio stations and hear all of those town/city names.
Oh, not as far then.
Hi Boo
Good NB
Hi Boo
good morning people, I am disappointed that my crstal ball for predicting word size was so off. Wednesday, when I have to work will probably be ginormous!
se5/20 anyone?
LOL Eva, well as long as you were staring at his chest long enough to read the tag, I guess I'm happy ;)
Hi Red
if you have sirrius radio scrabbs listen to 104.1 the dock out of midland
huh? what happened to your hand? what did i miss??
Hi Red
I listen to 104.1, 104.5, ..
104.1 where the 60,s and 70,s never die;)
Have to go now. hagd all. bbl.
hand? who hurt a hand?
glad the hand is doing better
bye
climbing isn't brave, i do it over padded floors, but glad you like the pics!
tc hego
bye Hego, I always love to see that flower peeking out!
i have a bunch to download from my holiday too
bye hego
cut it on some broken glass whilst heroically (read stupidly) trying to stop a small fight between two punters at the workplace! Always call the bouncers; you should ALWAYS call the bouncers...
Aha, se5/20 = past tense of to mend/darn
se 5/20 to stitch something together (past tense)
Bouncers, NB, they like to do that. I hope its healing.
i would nb,you look like you weigh 120 soaking wet
oooh, thanks Scrabbs - bit of a tangled one
Pippin, do you never climb outside?
oh dear. so long as youre alright!
I suppose in florida places to do that are rare eh.
Hi SG
thanks science and hello!
NB--new photo of my handsome son!
Beautifully thanks Red ;) good deal for me - I got an impressive line of stitches and an excuse to get Leo to wash my hair for me. Bonus!
i have never climbed outside on account of the no naturla rock in florida thing -- and i just started climbing a few months ago
120 soaking wet Crossy?! Can't begin to even fathom what that means ;)
pippin we have a wonderful outside climb here called metcalf rock, you should come over
but the fella wants to take me out so we might go to fort desoto where i have been told there are fun thing to climb
120 pounds in weight
in other words a light weight
that's what, 11 stone, not quite?
i think i weighed 120 back in junior high. ;)
Well, when you get cash, you would probably enjoy Smith rocks out in oregon.
OH. there's the problem, see, it's that pesky metric system ;) quick maths!
lol my thigh weighs 120 lol
someday i will get cash
I used to climb out there, and unfortunately developed a bit of a fear of heights there as well.
i gave you pounds not kilos nb lol
NB, thats about the same as a 13 year old girl. ;)
kg would be about 45...50
One of my favourite summer pasttimes was renting a cottage near Pretty River, about 15 minutes from Collingwood, nestled in the mountains. Talk about beautiful!
in the meantime i have someone who wants to spend it on me and i'm torn about letting him!
that it is krysten
i was trying not to confuse nb with kilos but it did not work lol
54 kilos eh? probably about right - haven't weighed myself in a while! however, I make up for it in feistiness ;)
and we do not weigh in stone so..lol
a 13 year old girl?! Ouch...my pride...;)
Pip, could you shorten it to 4 days instead of a week?
1 stone =6.45 kilo
yes but for some reason i know weight in stone so i can always make that conversion
you dont look like a 13 yr old girl, but you might weigh like one
well it's not a full week, it would be saturday through, um, looks like thursday
a stone is about 13-14 pounds, I thought.
11 pounds, actually
you are right red
14 lbs
6.45 kx 2.2=pounds
really? crap, all these years i've been so wrong!
we are such a melting pot of measure lol
according to the online conversion calculator i just found, 120 pounds roughly equals 8.5 stone.
Uno for me.
I usually use 14 lbs to a stone in my classes......
so far he wants to take me to the beach for walking and kayaking, shopping, the salvador dali museum, and universal studios, and he's still looking for other ideas
the U.S will not give up imperial measure,we have metric with most of the euros and the britts weigh in stomes drachmas and cubits lol
No matter how you measure it I am still a heavyweight.
according to Wikipedia, 1 stone = 14 pounds
I used to think in stone but there is NOTHING that makes one sound heavier than saying "ten STONE" etc. So I deal in kilograms now ;)
Maybe you can do these things one at a time. and Universal, well, why?
we both like roller coasters and i've never been there before - i would have said busch gardens but hes stuck on the new experiences thing
Well, I weigh in boulders.
kilos is dangerous nm...oh i weigh 100 kilos,thats not so bad...oh wait a minute...oh crap!
i guess i do weigh ten stone then. hrm...
I will admit that I am not a fan of the "attractions" which is too bad, because I live basically on top of them.
well, in that case, the same conversion calculator says 120 pounds equals roughly 54.5 kg :)
time to go soap and hose down this mass of muscle tc everyone and have a great day
bye cross have a great day.
anything with 'stone' - it's just such a heavy word. STONE. Though I'd must rather we measure liquids in dribs, puddles and gablooshes.
poof
that's what I used Eva ;) no maths for me!
no, nb is the poof!
All done here! Not as bad a grid as the last 2 days.
yay scrabs!
I have 24 left, got distracted.
Anybody want clues before I go? Hospital mtg in 2 hrs and then I work the evening session at the office.
COngratulations!!!!! Shoots off sparklies for Scrabbs (stolen from Disney!)
LOL Pippin. Whenever anyone leaves by saying 'poof' I do often do a double take ;)
woo! good one Scrabbs :)
Scrabbs, if feeling generous., I have No o from the top row O.
Desert mirages
Ooooh, now I have 2 o's thanks!!!!!!!!!
and then oe6 = Brit spelling of peripheral ed5
ahhh the proper seplling!
And os4 = plural ending of diagnosis
i could use the top right a if you're handing out clues..
OK, off I go. Housecleaning + walking in my free time today.
and with that, I have all the o's. Scrabbs. Serves up scrabbs some tea and crumpets, if you like, with strawberry jam.
ae5= mosquito
have a good one scrabbs!
I would prefer brownies--current obsession that I am fighting
how very english, Red :)
ugh. just saw "moojay" in the grid, which is the nickname of someone who used to work in my office. someone i was NOT fond of, for that matter.
*poof, poof, poof*
mmm, hungry. last day for real food for i'm not sure how long
Oddly, they sell crumpets at my local publix, they dont look very appealing. like muffins.
stupid dentist...
well how rude Scrabbs ;) Moojay Eva?! Do explain..
i dont know. i just know he said it was his nickname. it was also his personal email address...
I try to avoid nicknames.
clue for ha4/10
it uses the high-point tile. :)
boo, its a word for a trip muslims take plus a vowel.
sorry that is a bad clue. I ADORE you ICON!
ty
pe 5?
nm
I wonder where one gets a nickname like Moojay. Nowhere good, I think.
hard to know NB. I would think you'd want to live it down too, not make it yoru email...!
that's ok red. I love yours too
LOL Red, quite!
what kind of craft is that, It looks sort of like felt, but not exactly...
i have only wondered if it has something to do with his heritage. but seeing as how i really dont like him, i never cared to ask...
you know flat stanley? My dog is pretending to be flat stanly.
why don't you like him, Eva? shall I come and beat him up for you? *flexes* ;)
going to put up a post on my blog trying to decide about whether to take another holiday. i fear my mom will kill me
Pippin, you are an adult, your Mom has very little to say, except that you are living under her roof.
not that anyone ever commentson my stoopid blog, which makes it hard to get decision help
heh, no need. hes long gone -- got himself fired, he did. he strongarmed his way to Leader of our group before he had even joined it, then he did little-to-no work while he was here, instead lying his face off and throwing us under the bus left and right whenever he got caught. frankly, i head my name come out of his mouth a few too many times in ways i didnt like to hear it. everyone else seemed sad to see him go + thought he was fired unfairly -- but those in our group who actually worked with him know the truth.
oh and Eva, love the new picture in your flickr! That blue and white dress is adorable!
well, mom would be the caretaker of the cat while i'm away, and she's been on my case about the cleanliness of my room, so she has some legitimate reasons to tell me no
so clean the room, and the litter box.
oh! if you care to see where those photos are going, NB, you should check out my blog. its rather self-indulgent, but theres nothing wrong with that, right?
Nothing at all Eva ;) where does one locate your blog?
www.stumbleintostyle.blogspot.com
Eva, I just went to look at the blue and white dress, Gorgeous! Its liek delft!
it is, red, isnt it?
yes, and you pull it off nicely, I am very short on me, it would look odd.
I am so surprised today, with my new job under my belt, I feel like a new person. I must have been quite awful for the last 4 months.
sometimes you just need a change of pace to realize youve been in a rut. isnt it lovely to feel fresh and renewed?
It's different. I got up at 4 walked the dog and did a little work and then went back to sleep for about 4 hours....I feel floppy, I am so relaxed.
I'm not surprised you found yourself twirling ;) I sometimes find myself quite jealous of how good women look in their clothes - though not to the extent of throwing on a skirt myself...;)
heh. the blog is a recent thing for me. i have been reading the blogs of others for so long and finding inspiration... picking up hints and tricks. it has helped me care again about what i wear and how i present myself. after having put on so much weight over the last, oh decade, i had fallen out of love with fashion and certainly with my own body. the blog helps me like it again. ;)
i felt like that in athens, just like a weight was off me and i was me again. then i came back to florida and within 2 minutes was holding back tears of rage, but i'm out soon
well good for you! Fashion isn't a size thing, it's a sense of how to flatter whatever shape god's given you. I think you look gorgeous! And sassy ;)
::blushes:: thanky
OK this is weird....the news just came on and was telling about a homocide situation, we treated the homocidist over the weekend, usually I am not so close to the news.
can you be a homocidist?
im at a strangely frustrating size where, technically i am plus-sized, though many people dont think i *look* it, but im small in the plus-sized world. regular clothes are usually too small, but plus-sized clothes are often too large and usually too boring for me. its takes a little extra creativity for me to put together an outfit i like.
strange, red. i always thought the word was "murderer." maybe they felt that was a little too...loaded?
Oh Eva, I remember trying to shop at lane bryant and nothing was cut for me.
Well, I hope they nail him he was a nasty person.
i have some lane bryant pants. (i cant buy tops there -- apparently they think plus sized women all have huge boobs and some of us just dont!) even the pants fit somewhat strangely...
done...now, what do I do the remainder of the day?
yeah, I was unable to really buy there, the dresses fit but they hung strangely on my body.
Oh Lawyer, you can cook, clean, go for a walk...
Give me a clue for the J I am missing.
I have the same problem with being short - I used to buy loads of clothes when visiting Korea over the summers, because stuff there is tailored better for munchkins like me! Lots of clothes in English stores make me look like a kid dressing up.
i have the males name
i am in the office....so, no cooking, cleaning or walking
which j r u missing?
Ok, perhaps I suppose, errr, office work.
they are both male names
I have the plural mans name, looking looking for the other.
it's the formal version of the one u have
i have "eat at jo**"
and it's singular
that is a word? Thank you Lawyer 1!
well, feel free to page through my blog, NB. i appreciate any and all loving feedback. ;)
i did not say it was a word...i meant it was what u r missing
official definition: a long coat buttoning in the front, worn esp. by women as part of their riding habit in colonial America.
not something one would find at Lane Bryant
anyone need any other clues?
LOL Lawyer! I hear you Americans have our British TopShop now - what do you think?
can't concentrate, need a shower
wonder if named after Jo**** 's coat of many colors
i think topshop is only in nyc now, but i'm excited
like h&m but better made is what i understand
and i love me some h&m
i have never been excited by any store other than, perhaps, Wegman's
i get excited about lots of stores - hardware stores, clothing shops, whatev
I hate shopping, so....
only in New York? Booo... As I was the token gay guy in my school, I have been dragged into TopShop by excited gaggles of girls more times than I care to mention ;)
Wegmans used to be fun. But not here in Florida.
unfortunately, I have never been dragged anywhere by a gaggle of girls, either excited or not
NB, if ever you visit the states, id gladly drag you shopping with me. :)
And if you ever visist the UK, Eva, I'll gladly be dragged anywhere you want ;)
careful with that offer. seeing as how my entire family is over there, it may happen sooner than you think. ;)
okay, really shower now, be back later for my last 16
you can show me around London then - I still get lost. Actually I'm grateful for my screwy sense of direction; if I hadn't been a) at the wrong underground station and b) waiting for a train going in the completely wrong direction, I'd never have met Leo at all! God bless my mental inner compass.
Oh my, I am actually following the advice of the today show and putting antiphising stuff on my mac.
heh, we could get lost together. ;) honestly, im not even sure where in england my relatives live any more! i know my aunt + uncle live in Hook... and i know ive got some random relatives scattered about london. the rest? who knows...
hm - sounds like you have the same problem as me what with all your relatives being across the sea! though at least they speak (roughly!) the same language ;)
sometimes i wonder. ;)
my parents have lived in this country for over 45 years, but im still not sure WHAT language they speak...heh
LOL! Well you might have stood a chance of understand me before I moved - I used to speak in a very sort of early BBC voice - now I'm developing a London accent, so soon I'll be entirely incomprehensible...
*understanding, that is
ae clue?
just so long as you dont sound like the East Enders. my parents LOVE that show, but im not sure of anything theyre saying... even my parents hardly understand them, so they turn the volume louder. as if that will make the actors speak clearer...
hi, Mkg! Don't have it, sorry!
ok ty
ae is a mosquito
ae + mr ** the horse + plural letter
well not yet ;) I am fluent in the East Enders dialect though. I'm trying to hold off, because I just don't think a little Korean boy will suit a cockney accent...
it *would* seem rather incongruous. ;)
I must say though, all the lovely pictures in your blog are making me feel a bit guilty about my icon - it needs, as you might say, a pop of colour ;)
moased
ty got it.
it features my grey mandigan...comfort clothes!
oops soory
im wearing bright green pants today. consider me "popped" ;)
hey now -- something to be said for comfy clothes!
need jo 6 plz
think of he of the technicolour dream coat, Mkg ;)
(nice and on topic!)
got the 8. that is so not a word!!!!!!!!!! who does t his grid????????????
nancy now why is that a word? that is a name! how frustrating. ty for clue.
do you have the oe word, the 6? i am sure the 7 is plural.
no problem ;) I know, I tried it in a fit of hopelessness. And nope, don't have the oe! Don't have time to get it either...should be off to work soon..
NB, dearest, if i recall correctly, you dont have a FB or a myspace or anything like that, do you?

it is a skin disease
I started on myspace recently (on JC's insistence!) and have started leaving it to rot - I will use it more though, if you have it too. Promise ;)
7 to go
(all my friends use fb rather than myspace, but fb scares me. so my myspace is lonely)
i have a myspace, but i dont use it -- i too have made the FB switch. :)
this is why I'm all alone ;) for me though, people behave very oddly on facebook. A billion people that I'd met once or twice seemed to all add me at once. Most of them I'd forgotten existed! How frightening ;)
clue for mo5/14
which is funny because, as you can probably see, I just love attention. I did some one-time modelling for an advert for jeans for a store back home and used to loiter next to the picture to see if anyone would notice! lol
missing it boobear
well, if ever you decide to dig up your FB account, please do let me know. would love to be able to keep in touch outside of babble. :)

UGH. Just got back from work - apparently they don't need me this evening and forgot to phone and say! How irritating. Stuck around for a drink though - didn't want to be rude ;)
phantom: eschew

actually jobs are so tight around here now we are jumping through hoops for them also
Beats the US by a mile, so I hear
yes - shouldn't complain, really. They say jump and I say, how high?!
lol civilized, lol ill give you a u.s /Canada example. you to texas and have a big fight a texan will just haul out his colt 45 and shoot you,you go to canada and have the same fight we will grumbe, walk away and take you out from have a mile with our deer rifle lol
LOL!! Whereas in England we draw our swords.
now thats civilized;)

and Crossy - LOL! I'm sure ;)
the car got mo5'd on the midnight drive through Maine
oh! will do, Eva :) yes, I rushed off quickly to get changed. Out of the mandigan.
dont put mo 5/12 in your hair, they get their antlers caught
good advice, that.
nice picture nb,but it looks like someone told you you are about to get rabies shots
nb is looking deep
say what you want crossy, at least I won't get rabies :P
ahh going for the unplumbed depths and endless layers look lol
im happy to announce that i finally successfully nagged Chris into working on a guest list. poor guy even gave in + called his mom. ;)
thank you Jmc ;) actually that's more of a confused face for me. It's the neutral expression I tend to put on when I don't have a clue what's going on ;)
oh yes,ive lost track, when is the big day eva?
poor chris
Yay Eva! Oooh, I'm so excited for you!
october 23. i actually basically told him that we need to order + send out save-the-dates like yesterday, so if he didnt give me a list soon, i would just send it to the people i had, and that would be that.
our 17th is coming up;)
you make me feel old nb
our 36 anniversary is today
lol
congrats mummy!
congrats mummy!
yaa for mummy congrats
now that makes me feel young
next august, my parents will celebrate their big 5-0. i have no idea what to do for them!!
actually i stopped aging at 25 in my mind
have a party with all their friends and family with lots of old photos!
i am stuck at 42 myself crossy
Thank you for your good wishes can't believe it myself, you only get 12 years for life ! as they say
have people who can't come send stories
gotta go now dinner on the table! bye all
for my parents' 25th anniversary, my sister and I organised a private hot air balloon ride for them. And I wonder why they disown me ;)
well, other than them + my brother, theres no family in the country. would love to have a party...just need to figure out where -- neither my brother nor i have a house large enough, and it seems rather inappropriate to throw a party AT my parents house... and what with a wedding this year, money will be rather tight.
you are very lucky mummy and i am sure you earned it
luckily I'm the only family member who's a complete wimp when it comes to heights
that was what i planned for my 10th wedding anniversary but it was not to be
oh, NB! i would have LOVED that! chris would have throttled you, but *I* would have loved it. :)
what date is their 50th eva?
no you can do it at their house if you make sure you bring the food, set it out and clean it up
the party or the balloon ride, jmc?
august 16, 2011
oh next aug
yup. next year.
do they belong to a church or similar? Maybe could have it there?
ah well neither one since my husband died the previous fall
at least you can have it outside, rent some of those shade tents have a big bbq etc
their house would be perfect. waterfront, HUGE yard. will probably just do it there...
no, I meant, which did you plan? (sorry about husband)
I would have throttled me! The thought of going in a hot air balloon makes me feel completely sick with dread - even booking it I felt ill!
oh, I'm sorry, Jmc!
i am sorry as well jmc,i did not know;(
long time ago
i have been in a hot air balloon nb,go! do it! it is an experience you will never forget!l
and i have bungee jumped once as well just to say i have done it
OMG, Crossy. The balloon I could mayyyybe understand, but bungee jumping?!
it was wild
I got to do a hot air balloon ride last year -- would do it again in a minute
not the bungee jumping, though
see? fuq knows;)
oh i planned the hot air balloon
ive done this twice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v= EmZ7VmhZk1Q (note: not my video)
what would you all say was the scariest thing you've EVER done?
my boy bungee jumping but i never would -- i would be dead from fright wh** they pulled me up!
intentionally?
yes,i have seen tose eve, look fun
got to get back to work. bbl. enjoy the afternoon!
or that happened?
bye fuq
oh yes, intentionally!
hmmmm
the scariest thing i have ever done is crash land in the forest in a bush plane
unintentionally
i think that sky flyer was by far the scariest thing ive ever done. twice.
the scariest thing i did was smack a gun that was pointed at my head out of the assailants hand
intentionally,cliff diving
does that count as intentional?
Oh my GOD Eva that looks awful. Really, really, just...watching the video made me go pale!
walk in a forest with no moon at night -- i am afraid of the dark!
errrrr, yes Jmc! That's mental - how shocking - when was this?!
looking down the barrel of a shaking gun is indeed scary
centuries ago
she thought i was sleeping with her boyfriend but since i knew he was gay i was not interested what so even
*whatsoever
all i remember is that an unstoppable string of expletives was spewing forth from my mouth -- most of them made up entirely on the spot...
lol
lol eva
i had a stare down with a bacl bear once in the bush does that count?
black
they video tape everyone in hopes of selling you the tape, but they mysteriously "lost" ours -- i presume because of my language. ;)
too many scary things have come and gone nb hehe
scariest thing for me was coming out to my parents. My hands shook for hours afterwards! It was hard to physically get the words out - I stuttered like an idiot for about five minutes first
it is sad and here we would only be worried that he was a nice enough fella for you
I was thinking that Crossy - if I'd lead your life, I'd be scared to leave the house!
i have gone through the ice while crossing a frozen lake also
...how DO you leave the house, Crossy?!
*offers NB and Crossy some of her cupcake*
after a while you do not fear death, you do not ignore it,you just respect it
i meqan why should i worry? i have survived cancer time 3 also..hell i could get run over by a bus while crossing the street today so why worry
I would, Eva, but after watching that video I don't think I'll be facing food for a while ;)
worrying will not change the future one iota, worrying is like trying to empty the ocean with a teraspoon
teaspoon
i live the day nat hand and if i survive it i have had a good day,not a day of worry:)
heh, i promise if you ever visit, i wont make you do that. ;)
good philosophy Crossy - I suppose I see what you mean. I wish I could be the same! But the way my parents reacted just made me more scared of telling people in case they react the same way - although I must say, you fine folks here are doing a wonderful job of changing that :)
you and i will go eva
you come here nb,and we will get you all married up;)
you just come here first to go wedding shopping. ;)
yup,eve can do the details
we can drive a few hours over to delaware with their tax-free shopping. ;)
hear that Crossy? After all you've been through, I think wedding shopping is the only scary thing left!
LOL Crossy. Don't scare Leo now ;)
nothing scary! im a pro now!
ill book the church
come on over -- we can have a double-wedding. ;)
can nb wed in you state ok eva?
if not you all come up here lol
alas, no, not yet. but we already have a venue...
This is too funny - three years ago I first saw Leo, standing on a train platform with his girlfriend - and now you have him ready to march down the aisle with his boyfriend!
U.S is funny that way,you can have same sex marriages in 3 or 4 states, but you can marry you first cousin in 30 of them lol
nb, we have some great gay friends in DE whom you could meet up with while assisting Eva
sad, innit crossy?
lol make me shake my head
opponents wanna say that homosexuality makes a mockery out of marriage, but i would say the over-50% divorce rate -- which is among heterosexuals -- is where the mockery is.
im just crazy that way...
I hear brides tend to get a little crazy before the wedding, Lawyer - so I would need some protection! ;)
especially Eva ;)
now after a few years,it is nothing to us,everyone has the same thing, same certificates, same sposal benefits..we do not bat an eye.it is life.get on with it
im just plain crazy, NB. nothing to do with the wedding. ;)
Maryland's Attorney General upset many residents when he said MD woulod recognize same-sex marriages performed in other jurisdictions
they have to get over it as well
actually, having found out that you did the activity in that video - WILLINGLY - I have to agree. Yes, you are nuts. Completely nuts. :)
twice. ;)
and PAID to do it!
gd evening everybody
hi, Ruby!
hi NB!
TWICE! And there goes the final nail in my coffin, lol
hi, ruby
did anybody try jo6/39? I thought no way, but I'll try it anyway
the only thing that still gives me pause is the real attractive married ladies.i have to snap myself out of the mind set that a porn shoot is about to happen every time they kiss or show affection.leftover from my bad old youth
hi lawyer
do u want a clue for it?
and then, accepted!
no no, I got it
i would like to shake my fist in anger at hurshy -- thanks to her talking about Glee yesterday, im STILL listening to songs today... lol
hmph. enable doesn't know about oojah-cum-spiff
oh, good timing, evanadine :)
i'm still singing madonna songs myself.
hah, hi there hurshy. :)
does anybody have the a word?
oui
out upon the ocean, ruby.
lol, Crossy! just try not to stare, hm? ;)
no, sorry, the other one
a mosquito
Good afternoon, only have a few minutes before company comes for lunch. But could I get a clue for jo6, please.
it like going to the nude beach nb,you give yourself whiplash trying not to look
ty lawyer and ty hurshy for trying to help me
ae5. sounds like another word for hell, but without the aspiration.
ae + the French philosopher rene ***cartes
now for nbt, I need the middle h
Marc - think of the guy with the amazing technicolour dreamcoat
hah, that reminds me of the story my dad told me about when we were little (i was a baby + my brother was a toddler) and my brother took my dads hand to show him something. they went running down the beach, and my brother stops and points at a woman sunbathing topless.
good clue, NB
in this area we have a topless law..if you want to set them free you can go right ahead
thanks, Ruby, but alas not my doing - it came from earlier, but I can't remember who. With my upbringing, biblical stories aren't exactly my forte ;)
Thanks got to go check on the duck.
I've just had my monkeys doing random letters!
just put spf 40 on them lol
and found some really stupid words
LOL, Eva and Crossy!
(ladies should be reminded that Crossy is available to assist with the application of the SPF 40)
actually wife will not let me
i asked and she said no;(
you asked?!?!?!?
topless law has been here for at least 8 years
if i ask lawyer,i wont get shot later lol
45 words and that's that for me. Gd night everybody
In the army, it's don't ask, don't tell
Mrs Crossy has the patience of a saint. ;)
i once asked my wife if we could invite another lady over for a evening or 3,she told me that if i did that she would leave me for the other woman and they would both get alimony!
gn, ruby
maybe in Canada
My brother used to ask if he could see another lady. My sister in law said why would she want to see a quadruplegic. David said ??I'm not?? She said you will be if you ask that again
so,i do not ask anymore
what's the other J besides cups of coffee?
so, how does your brother get around?
a mans name from the bible
weird. wonder what it means as a generic noun.
Hi everyone. I just finished with a desperate stab at the so8. I've never heard that word; but, it worked.
it's a coat
i think it is a old time article of female clothing
because of the coat of many colors?
It's a woman's coat
so**(time) over the rainbow
is it a woman's coat with many colors in it?
dunno, I never owned one
I'm off to nap.....zzzzzzzz
pleasant dreams
Hahaha, Lawyer!
is there a W6?
But Crossy - from what you tell me it seems terribly cold where you live - who would go topless?!
why yes, hurshy, there is!
pl of w5
yep Hurshy - we6/39
is there an h5?
ja, ja
lol nb,we can often get hot temps in july and august
is it weird, and if so may i have a clue?
ha + court ***ter
in ontario i have seem a highest of 42c and the coldest i have ever felt has been minus 44c
thank you
yw
we are a land of variety nb
well thank god ;) I've had a snowball fight with just jeans on and I wouldn't recommend it!
i have rolled neeked in a snow bank as part of a swedish sauna hehe
they say it is good for the pores
things here get downright frigid in winter, but swelteringly hot humid in summer!
ahhh, I forgot I was talking to the fearless man ;)
lol
sounds like Korea, Eva!
only fear is "shrinkage" lol
only summer is only humid if you're lucky. If you're unlucky, then it's just pure monsoon.
LOL! Nature's way of telling you you shouldn't go naked in the snow!!
not fearless nb,i have a phobia of dentists
here, it will be 100 degrees, and the second you step outside, youre sweaty and literally swimming through the air...
do u have teeth, crossy?
there are a few left lawyer lol
my biggest fear these days is having my nipple ring yanked out. I have a real thing about that.
but anyhow, I'm off to get some FOOD! bbl maybe :)
ttfn, nb
ouch..put a tear away ring on it then so all they get is 3/4 of it and not your nipple
last dentist i was at,i needed 3 filling and a removal of a broken tooth..he shot me up,the removal was fine, the first filling was fine,as he was doing the second i told him the freezing was wearing off,he told me nonsense and kept going.as soon as he started cleaning out the third one ,he hit a nerve and i jumped and ripped the arm off of his dental chair
there was a charge of 200 dollars on my bill for repair of the chair;(
i told him the thing had to have been loose to begin with;/
so i do not care for dentists
not your fault, crossy. dentists + doctors should never tell you nonsense when you say you can feel something they think theyve numbed. some people need more than others.
I'd have told him his chair wouldn't have been ruined if he had listened to you when you said the pain meds were wearing off and told him to chalk the repair costs up to stupidity on his part.
Oh and hi.
so now you have to dart me like a water buffalo and drag my carcass in there
howdy ormal
i understand completely
dearest fiance takes a bag of ice with him to any doctor or dentist. he works himself into a frenzy and gets all lightheaded before even getting back to the office...
well they do not actually dart me,they give me a bunch of pills and i sit in the waiting room and when i fall out of the chair,im ready
crossy you're too much!
your fiancee sounds like me
lol ormal
now you know why it is a good thing i am no longer an A type personality ormal lol
i swear. when the day comes for us to have children, they will have to give him more drugs than me...
i was fine with the birth,i cut the cord, helped the dr with the afterbirth when he was losing it lol, things like that do not bother me
Yeah it's good, or you'd beat up the dentist before he/she got started.
poor doc was tired that day,he birthed 6 others before ours
if i can field dress a mo 5/12 i can help with a baby birthing
lol
hello all, i am back and have ten left. and can not find them!
howdy again red
just ask, red
ahh the grid is so small, I need to ponder it a bit, but thank you, give me a minute!
ive got a mere 18 left, but i think my brain is done. :)
yep, I just keep looking, I imagine all ten are fishes.
nine are fishes and the tenth is an obscure scottish word
LOL steve. I tried a bunch of cw combos this morning before I realized there were no C's!
dunno about Scottish, but there is a word from Chaucer
Bruce ChAucer?
nope....Jeffy
who is Bruce Chaucer?
dont know but probably a relative of Geoffrey
jeffy's younger brother
sigh..you britts are so lucky.you got so see all those amazing dire straits concerts in the 80,s(crossy is listening to mark knopfler tunes) :))
hi all. i've only one left now, but am rapidly giving up hope of ever finding it.could anyone give me a tiny clue to w5/22? by the way crossy, i never saw any dire straits.
maybe Bruce was the drummer for Dire Straits
and they got to see Jeffy & Bruce
hello Guernsey, I seem to not have that one. Its one of my ten fishes.
no don't - ive got it
Dictionary.com says w/5/22 is not a word
i think it's just a random combination of letters beginnign with w
ill take a clue for that please
we+ what we are doing here minus a vowel.
we+ a sort of german-sounding group of consonants
there is a Forensic Institute with that name
and greetings all
mm crossy hates un-word ty ((FM)
thank you! 9 left. Goota put out a net and troll about for the fishes.
the Institute is at Duquesne
oh brilliant F M, although i don't think that would have helped my
((crossy))
helped me.
Hi gg :)
hi FM. How goes it?
Just finished watering the garden as it is so dry, such a lovely warm day today!
Beautiful, although i haven't had much time to go outside
Aparently it will be even warmer tomorrow poss into the 70s!
went to my reading group. we have read Falling Man by Don de Lillo, which we all found a difficult read
I just an excellent book by Jennifer Haigh, "The Condition"
Good (re the weather) i hope it last until the weekend.
good news FM!
haven't heard of that one, red. what's it about?
Oh I love to read but have found over the last year or so I just don't have the time and wh4 I do (in bed) I am so tired I fall asleep.
Hey red.
I really enjoyed it. It was about a family, and the girl is diagnosed with Turners SYndrome, a genetic syndrome that does not allow her body to mature....
i find that being in a group makes me finish books that i might not bother with otherwise and i often really enjoy them once i've made the effort
What was interesting was the way she described the family dynamics, I recognized many from my own family in there...
"a lovestruck romeo sings a streetsuss serenade..."
And, It has a very nice ending.
book groups are a really good idea for many reasons.
Hello FM.
i must look it up, red, and perhaps our group would like it. it's good to have new recommendations.
Hey EvaN, you're on the Dire Straits trail I see.
lol
well, i WAS on the Glee trail, but when Crossy mention dire straits, i decided to listen to this song. i have always loved it. :)
romeo and julliette:)
I was surprised, did not think it would be that good, but it had many interesting parts to it, and owuld definitely be a good discussion book.
normally we blame you, FM, but for this one, i will blame crossy. ;)
read that as "a lovestruck romeo sings a street suess serenade" Something like Horton Hears a Who; do you do you
do not forget to listen to going ome and lady writer
home
Love their music.
there is an amazing guitar section in lady writer
hi babblers..i saw someone mention turners syndrome....my sister -in-law has that. She is married and adopted a girl who just graduated from college
"julie id do the stars with you anytime..."
whoo hoo, I am finally down to 8.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNWPNPQ xpl8
wtg red
Hi Robbie, I just read a book called "The condition" by Jennifer Haigh, about a girl with turners syndrome, andmose so about her family. It was very interesting. The girl in the story also gets married.
hi robbie, we were talking about a book which has a character with turner's syndrome
One of my fav's is The Sultans of Swing.
nice! I
ll have to check it out red!
Oh and Brothers in Arms and Walk of Life.
our local library is not errr, very good so it was a delightful surprise. We do have a full collection of Zane Grays..:(
I like walk of life.
i need to get to making a list of awesome love songs like that -- i wanna make a CD for the wedding that will play during the cocktail hour and maybe during dinner too...
just had a look at it on Amazon. it looks good.
walk of life is excellent so is"private investigations"
lol..my dad has a lot of old Zane Gray books
I've been doing a lot of reading lately!
our local library has closed for three months for refurbishment, but now they've found asbestos, so we are pessimistic about when it'll open again
Most people here are retirees, and the library I think is mostly just their donations!
what else have you enjoyed, red?
im sorry that clip is out of sync a tad
OK, please can I have a small teeny clue for the 8.
Oh what a shame gg.
Getting rid of asbestos costa a lot!
I found a Hatian author, Edwidge Danticat (what a name!) she wrote 2 books that I liked "Breath Eyes memory" and "The farming of the Bones"
the 8 made me cross. it's a compound word - 2 4-letter words together
ive been on jbs with asbestos gurnsey, count on a delay of 1 -3 months
Oh no Guernsey. We have a library because the local community college and town made a deal, the first floor is community stuff, the second two floors are college books.
Danticat sounds interesting. our swimming pool was closed for 2 years, cross
you waste a month waiting for a govt drone to come out, take a look and go "yup, thats aspestos"
so8 = Judi Garlands most famouse song from the Wizard of Oz but change the last 4 letters to *not if but ****
OK, so , exactly how is that not a made up word?
nice clue fm
silly word
that will be the same process over here, crosshair
but, thank you, I would not have found that.
Glad the clue worked.
seah
jo 6/39?
but even slower
error error error, many apologies.
I never heard of that so8 word!
boys name
Formal name for the shortened boys name Chloe
thanks guernsey
thanks red
jo6 owner of the coat of many colors
jo6 - biblical name from the bible.
reminds me of the coat of many colours by dolly
and now down to six. I did capitulate into clue asking, rats.
thanks FM
yw
you know crossy, I like that song, and even though I do not like Dolly's appearance, i do think she really is a smart businesswoman and a very gracious lady.
i judge the songs and not the person, though if you are a real shit ill boycott your tunes lol
OK I am breaking. getting list I just cant sdo this all day.
now im listening to sunday morning coming down
today was the first time i've done it without any help from clues at all - i feel proud
woo 50%
old tunes my daddy used to listen to
every so happy to list this grid
Dollywood is a fun place to go, yes she is a smart business woman
go harry
i'm off to see if i can change my icon. pff
I have heard too that she has employed many many distant relatives at Dollywood, which, I think is very nice. She came from very humble beginnings.
she has an amusement park?? lol!!
see you soon GG!
"im not on no yellow brick road, got a mind and a heart, and guts of my own -- im not looking for the one to set me free. im not on no yellow brick road, ill find my own way home -- im just looking for someone to walk with me."
oh yes Cross!
lol!!!
oh yes Crossy..in tennessee
let me guess..twin peaks roller coaster..lol!!

Oh I am a dork. I got the british spelling for swelling, but forgot to put in the american one.
hoping you'll see me differently now.

i've refreshed it now. is that better?
Oh can see a lovely pic of a harbour.
but then again we have tim horton serving coffee....
same icon..I like it but it is the same guernsey
I see a different one now! very pretty.
We have TIm Horton's too!
it's changed to the new one on my screen, robbie
I hear it is good coffee crossy
the family got ripped
and on that note, I am off for coffee. It;s peets not Timmies, but hay.
im not a coffe drinker, but it seems to be the big thing
bye red and thanks for the book recommendations.
have fun red!
Bye red.
when tim hortons went public on the stock exchange the stocks opened at 26 per share..wish i had got some;(
I'm not a coffee drinker either, but everyone around here(that drinks coffee) says it is the best
wow! that would have been a great idea crossy!
If no further clues needed I am going to take a break.
I have 666 points
lol even worse i was going to buy 1000 shares of microsoft ...in 1987..and decided not to at the last minute....
that sounds evil harry
wow! crossy
sigh..to think i could of been lighting cigars with 100 dollar bills by now if i did lol
has anyone here ever used an air vent deflector? we have a vent on our bedroom floor + we were wondering if these things worked...
i paid for school instead and a bachlor pad
they work eva
we used to use them to deflect the heat from the windows in the winter
buy one for each floor vent
the only vent in our bedroom is on the floor -- and that is also the only place for my long dresser. dear fiance wants me to scrap the dresser or have us buy a $300 portable AC unit, but im hoping this will work...
those icy cold window cool the air 30% before it even gets into the room
ah for cooling..i see
it will help eva
done! gotta love lickety
hats off to harry!
yes, we have the opposite problem, but if it works for heat, i think it should also work for cooling?
hey, that's an idea eva..I'll try using one in our spare bedroom!
it should help greatly
as long as it is not just pushing the cold air under the bed lol
congrats harry!
i am a idiot,ive had we 5/24 and 6/39 for ages,but just got ed 4/7 and 5/16 lol
g2g bye all!
back - I'm even more of an idiot, Crossy, it took me AGES to find the we6 - didn't think of pluralising!
Hi All - just stopping in to say good afternoon - at work but no ambition - how are you all doing?
Hi, Mom! Personally - doing good. And you?
kicking butt and taking names as usual mnh:))
I am well. I am kicking butt as usual....
just like the mama duck and her little chickies...
how's the not-smoking going? you've inspired me to try and quit (again)...so fingers crossed for us both :)
Day 6 Nancy - cant say it has been easy - far from it - but I am hanging in there - havent cheated once
"and this i know, his teeth as white as snow..."
you can do it Nancy - dont have 38 years of smoking under your belt like I did
you both can do it!!
I LOVE Pixies Eva
are your pictures changing hourly now - is it just supper time NB
has anyone seen this video.it was shot just before his death...very powerful and intense.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o22eIJD tKho
yes we can Crossy ;)
I think my dentist will be impressed when I go for my next cleaning
*grabs NB and dances*
lol Mom! It's actually just gone dinner time and I felt uninspired by the boring grey mandigan.
i just saw them a few months ago. :)
both of you,set a reward for yourself..every day put the price of a pack of smokes in a jar.cash it at the end of the year
Gigaaaaantic - really?! oh you lucky girl :)
yes, they played the Debaser album in its entirety. darling fiance saw them 2 nights in a row. :)
hello all
crossy, I have something to tell you.
howdy peri
uh oh
all my Virginia Slims money goes to cancer research
have you heard of Archie McPhee and Co. NOvelty candy makers in Seattle, Wash?
good idea nb
it rings a bell
Evening all. May I have a clue for the SE 5/20 please?
what you did with needle and thread
crossy you must check them out. They make bacon gumballs, bacon ari freshener, bacon lip balm and lots of other stuff.
Ohhhh and Debaser is my favourite album of theirs! They're one band I'd really love to see - only ever seen Mr Black Francis himself, onstage with Placebo for Where Is My Mind. Live in Paris!
*air freshener*
ive had their gumballs;)
oh, you have, ok.
but not the rest yet:)
they are very much into the music + not so much about putting on a show. if youre not a fan, youd actually be bored. but the music is.... well, awesome. :)
i did find bandages that look like strips of bacon;))
they have a neat website, crossy
they have a lunch box that looks like bacon too
ill goggle it up ty peri
i have heard some rumours of a scratch and sniff bacon scented tie....
I can imagine, Eva! Interesting though - most of the bands I've seen are quite performance-orientated (Radiohead is an exception)
yw crossy
"let the aroma of bacon be your rainbow throughout your work day!"
I am done with the grid, just stopped in to say hi and to tell crossy about the website. bye for now
:-)
my favoritest band, in addition to being greay musicians, are amazing showmen. :)
and who would that be, Eva? :)
2 Skinnee J's
no one has ever heard of them, but i heart them. :)
you can go to www.grooveshark.com and search for them, if you wanna hear them for free. :)
right now, im listening to "stockholm love"
love to, but the PC's volume has packed up - we live in a flat where everything is broken, breaking or about to break ;)
you need to get your ears on them sometime. methinks youd dig. :)
I stuck 'em into google - the word 'nerdcore' came up ;) never heard that one before!
heh, yes. theyre kinda like beastie boys meets 311 with some star wars and devo thrown in there. :)
plus, theyre SUPER fashionable, and a really nice bunch of guys. im kinda psyched to count them as friends. :)
sounds interesting to say the least ;) but I like all kinds of music, so when this gets fixed (eventuallyyy) I'll give them ago! That is, if the lack of cigarettes doesn't cause me to put my foot through the screen first :)
whats NOT to love about a band that sports outfits like these? http://tinyurl.com/33ppz7f
LOL Eva! Reminds me of the five minutes I spent in a band. There was a lot of emphasis on looks. We didn't have many songs ;)
their songs span everything from politics to throwing a kickass party. :)
well I do enjoy a kickass party...:)
heh, send me a myspace request, and i think ive got some fun pictures up of me with the guys. ahhh....memories... alas, the band broke up several years ago -- but every coupla years they reunite for a mini-tour, and they did one this year, right around my bday!
ah, do you get perks from being friends with the band? I'd want free tickets at least ;)
i usually get on the list. ;)
added you ;) my space is very bare at the moment - can't be bothered to put a whole lot in it!
ahh, there you are!
ooh crap! look at that time -- i need to escape the confines of work and head home!
there I am! will put some more pictures up at some point, and decorate the page a bit.
i do so love chatting with you that i forget all about my own freedom. ;)
of course ;) well get home now, before they lock you in! and take care, m'dear :)
tell leo i said hello and give him hugs for me. :)
will do! :)
phantom "twee"
Hi Crossy
howdy hego
this grid is annoying, but not hard.
my -name- is a phantom in this grid! how annoying.
I said it was annoying. ;o)
well I concur! ;)
I'm done. anyone need a clue before I split?
Then bye All.
hidee ho neighbors ;)
hi, Pini! and, oops, bye Hego!
hi NB :)
how's it going today?
1 more word and i can list;0
been such a laaazy day today Pini - I went to work to find out I wasn't needed! So been slouching around the flat a bit :) how are you?
I must be picking up your slack, NB...at work now, but on lunch break. Wish I were slacking at home instead!
Crossy - intrigued by earlier, I weighed myself. You were more or less spot on! 52kg.
;)
hiya crossy
52kg = ??lbs?
Lol Pini - sorry to hear about the workload! I can't help but feel guilty, since the most productive thing I've done today is play with the cat...
can tell just by yer pic
<-- wishes USA used the metric system!
52x2.2 =kg
pounds
egads! You're teeny tiny, NB!
not to worry you will catch up pini;)
I can only hope, crossy!
as it hit us in 1978,i tend to used a bastardized mixture of both
for example, for me,fish will always be in pounds and beer will forever be in pints;0
I would much rather work in 10's across the board than try to remember the intricacies of all of our difference measurements...
not so much Pini - I'm pretty damn short, which is a lot to do with it ;) and I used to be worse - I did some modelling for a Korean jewellery company two summers ago, and I look too thin (to me) in those pictures. Horrible!
hi all again i am back did you miss me?
hi jmc ;)
two of the important food categories, eh, crossy?
but of course jmc
hi, Jmc! 'course we missed you :)
NB, I think my toes weigh as much as you! LOL
my thigh weighs as much as nb lol
4 Koda's = NB!
LOL. Well as I say, it was worse. The jewellery ad is funny - the necklace was the heaviest thing in it ;)
lol when they put the necklace on they probably had to give you a back brace or a counter weight lol
(PS: always miss ya, jmc!)
(it was worse because it was shirtless. embarrassiiiing.)
2.5 nb=1 jmcnrick
LOL Crossy. I was skinny but I still had bones! :D
you're silly, jmc!
ooh pini i have some work in portland now for the thursday or friday that i come in august
yeah! jmc!
we use 2.2 cause the american system differed a tad from ours
silly but fat
especially in the gallon
It's mostly just ethnicity I think - compared to the average American, Koreans are just built smaller
pretty much, nb
jmc...are you really getting a car when you come over?
but this all came up from Crossy saying he didn't think I'd win a fight ;) hm...snowball fight maybe.
you know...I'll have mind and can drive (a portion of what you'd save in rental could go toward gas, if you like)
pillow fight, NB? * giggle *
mind = mine
all this came from swedish sauna neeked snowbank diving nb lol
ROFL
that was the plan pini -- i like to have mobility
LOL Pini - is that a threat? ;)
I'd probably lose, NB! LOL
well i would need to go to the Lewis and Clark law school and possibly meet with a shrink friend for dinner or drinks
gotcha, jmc...
and i was toying with the idea of a mad dash to Montana to find lbd
lol Crossy - all the nudity, snow, shrinkage and nipple rings came after ;)
We'd talked about that, too, jmc...going over to kidnap her!
*shocked look*
about the kidnapping or the nipple ring??? * snicker *
personally I find Crossy diving naked into the snow is more shocking than one teeny little nipple ring.
ROFL
oe6?
no i think the kidnapping is a great idea!
can we pull it off?
Not sure...shall we look into it??? (under the radar, of course)
I'll remember to bring my GPS!
absolutely! I really don't mind driving long distances
me either, jmc!!! (can I help drive, too?)
I have an excellent driving record! :)
you'd have to go to the rental car place with me but sure!
No prob!
do we have any idea what city she might live in?
now does it make more sense to pick up stiddie flosey and jill and drive over to lbd's or swing by lbd's and drag her back with us to Olympia?
I'm going to take a quick look, jmc!
reminds me i have to call and see why i am on a national do not rent list for enterprise
we could get a really big car
could always drive mine...it seats 5
how many are there going to there?
bbs got to go interview a airman
hello out there.. any help with the 2 oe's and the we5/22 please?
sorry, hawk...I don't have it yet...
the we5 = we + **ips and dip + cross
JMC...if you get back and see this note, email me (addy in profile). back to work now...cya 2nite ;)
thanks for the we. down to my last 2, if anyone has the oe's, I can assist with any others
I think it means swelling in body tissue hawk
got it! thanks
fireworks for me
congratulations :)
(takes bow)
any I can help with before I log off?
oe 6&7 please
jo6?
Jo---- and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat
for the oe's, put an o in front of ed 5/14 and 6/24
ty, thought that was just a name so never would have tried it
apparently it's no longer just a name LOL
nice if you have them
well you have the first 4 letter now Minski
it means body tissue swelling (and its plural)
Thanks for the Jo Hawks. Thought it was a proper name also.
does the so8 build off the so4/5?
Thanks Hawk for the body swelling clue. Got all 4 immediately.
great! any more I can assist with or am I clear to log off? :)
so8, it does. it's a compound word that I doubt anyone realizes is an actual word
ty, will think about it
got it - finished, thanks hawk
you're welcome
Afternoon all. May I please have a clue for ha5-22? Thanks
NM found it.

mo, I just looked at your profile...what a lovley kitten.

who is shiloh mo?
hello all! *waves* lunchtime
ty gapeach .... its not my cat , but it looks so much like a cat I used to have.
Animals are wonderful, aren't they?
as4 out on the ocean
NM, *slaps self with large fish*
hi crosshair .... shiloh was a dog we used to look after a few days a week when his mistress died, as his master went out to work.
sadly he died of diabetes.
*yawn* ooh I left the computer on. All this lazing about has made me sleepy.
hey cross. I wondered, if you think about weight as pebbles instead of stones....
where can i find info on what the tile stats mean?
Well, I'm glald that he had you to care for him.
about time you showed up young man! you wandered in and disappeared simultaneously the other day
I did, Stid?! how rude of me :) sorry, I'm a bit absent-minded recently
in the help, patch -- or you can just know that the first number is how many you found that start with that tile and the other number is the possible words that can start there
thx so much!
I'll be off til the flip...mo, have a great evening.
you're not pregnant are you, NancyBoy? I was VERY scatter-brained when I was pregnant... *wicked mama look*
later peach!
ty gapeach ... he was such a loving dog and no trouble.
d'you know Stid I think that might be it ;) as my picture shows, I am eating for two!
rofl... you funny kid!
bye gapeach ... and you too.
is that a bowl of soup? or ... mashed potatoes?
I may have mastered chopsticks Stid, but even I cannot eat soup with a fork ;) nope, it's pasta. Vegan pasta :D
mmmmm. pasta.... *sigh*
help on the J and the A above it for NBT please?
are you a hungry mama? ;)
both the Js are boys' names!
I am hungry! but eating, so hopefullly it will pass.
NORMAL boys' names? or Martians? Or Venusian? Or...
ae5/12 ...yellow fever mosquito
thanks mo -- didn't even consider the E as a possibility.
Biblical Stid. Think of an amazing technicolour dreamcoat...
yw.
???? wow. I guess so! it's twisty though.
got them both. Now past halfway!
to the list!
*sound of batcave music, the screen fades in and out with a pink flower center...*
woohoo! well I'm done - just came back to remark that I'd left it on. Eating up energy. *scolds self*
LOL Stid. Clearly, no expense spared here :D
YAY NancyBOy! *hugs* glad to see you, hope you are all okay.

go go go Stid!
First time I have played in months, managed 59 without listing, now am totally stumped on last 6. Ugh
well done shawnee!
13 now, the list is helping A LOT today!
this is a quick little grid, perfect for a busy day!
That was quick!!
I wanted to see how far I could actually get, kinda proud of myself. LOL
any more clues before I go?
5 now, that's me, "speedymama" *faster than a speeding modped, more powerful than a triple latte, able to leap a curb as long as there's a handrail....*
wellll I'm off to bed. Now that the leak in the ceiling has gone, I can sleep without an umbrella ;)
bye NB have a good sleep!!!
one more...
firewords!
sweet dreams Nancy Boy -- love to Leo!
well done stid.

I must be off now ... goodnight all and good luck.
ty stid ... bye.

bye NB
who is left??
hey j i am. but only a minute.
hey dorens
geese just wh** i get rid of all the pesky staffers
rushing, as usual. have to get on the treadmill for half an hour, then make and eat dinner and then get to the board of ed meeting at 7. just to let them see me. don't want them to forget me.
no th** should not forget you!!
*stealth hungs doren and disappears for real*
*backpedals...* jmc too? how are you?
wait!!!!
i am written out of the budget, but just want them to keep me in mind if any $$ come their way. hugging stid back. and enjoying my firewords and leaving... more time tomorrow, i hope
hi stiddie i wanted you to konw that pini and I are plotting to kidnap lbd on our excursion
ooooh! that would be EXCELLENT!!! *happy mama look*
but we have not decided if we should kidnap her on the way to your place, or grab all of y'all and go see her
oh no doren! they can't not keep you! *sad mama look*
bye dorens -- give them hell!
I can't afford to go to see her... I will be preparing for student teaching, unfortunately.
BUT. I bet a mountain-style babble meet ALSO would be great fun!
i was thinking a day trip
LBD lives a lot further away than a single day from me.
<== originally from Texas where going 400 miles is a day trip
she's on the other side of the BIG mountains!
(400 miles one way)
do you konw where in Montana she lives?
I think of Southern Oregon as a two-day trip minimum.... 8-9 hours each way.
and that's closer than LBD
foothills, I think. Helena?
I did a day trip to Asheville and that is 8-10 hours
each way
Helena? that is a hop skip and a jump (really high jump!)
Mother would never be able to do a long haul like that. And I won't have that kind of time. But that is OK if you and pini want to go!
I would be fine!
okay, the class is reconvening. Must head out. (((jmc))) I'll be online later this week, probably see you "around." *poof*
pini and I will put our heads together

any clue for the other j word?
Hi harpjane! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
pl possessive of the jo6 nickname
When I saw this grid today,I thought "Yi 5/16! What a small grid!"So here's a story of clues to go with the grid. It's that time of year again wh 4/9 students in NY in grades 3-5 have to take the ELA & Math tests. Everyone at work is on ed4/7 this week because the students in grade 3-6 are taking the state ELA tests which they have been prepping for all year.Students are on the ed 5/16 of their seats as well. Th 4/7 are nervous about the test.Since September th4/7 have been pe4/5 up school doing test prep. Th 4/5 th 4/7 stay after school and do more test prep. Th4/7 have been practicing the sa 4/5 skills over and over again Test strategies have been et 4/6ed in their brains. I hope that so 4/5 of these clues helped you find more words.I will be here off and on to help out with clues.
formal usage of the jo4
i'm good minver, i have completed my second day as a census "enumerator" trainee!
or that, too
I decided not to do the enumerator job. training was during inventory so i couldn't go. also decided that there are way too many "tea party" weirdo's up here.
wel ty
yah i'm waiting to get shot at.....
* keeps head under rock *
does hamilton have a lot of extremists like the flathead?
not as bad as the flathead but yes
any gh words?
no
oe words?
yes, 2
ty
great story, Min - and I understand it completely - we have state tests this week, too (NJASK) - one big complication here - we had a terrible tragedy over the weekend, one of our best and beloved teachers died suddenly and the kids and staff are deeply affected, but the test goes on.....
oe 6/24 is o plus ed 5/14 word harpjane and plural it.
oh my, jbv
i'm sorry to hear that, JBV.
worse than that, Pini, it was a suicide - so incomprehensible and tragic
my heat is cranking up! supposed to be in forties tonight
OMG!
Oh how terrible! Unfortunately the state won't take that into account when they do school report cards.
very sorry to hear the teacher was having that many problems ... sad
yes, Min - you got it! people are crying and falling apart, but the test must go on
how tragic for the family and the community.
we have a crisis counseling team in place - god bless those people - they were so wonderful
how are you ?
no doubt, jbv...it takes special people to be able to do that
I hope that she was not too pressured about having her kids do well on the test. Must be more to it than that.I hope your school provides counseling for them
when i lived in AZ the counseling team was very busy between kids and adults committing suicide and other unnecessary deaths.
thanks for asking, TO, I loved her too - she will be greatly missed, but I am holding it together, and learning how different it is to grieve for a suicide - so many things are different
i only have one g word, the guy
a lot of unanswerable questions, JBV.
(whispers fyrwrx)
make that 2 -
Last week we had a flood in three classes. Everyone was saying thank God it didn't happen during the ELA
one thing is they do not want to give it too much "play" - publicity, etc., to prevent what they call "contagion" (god help us), so people are kind of discouraged about talking about it which is difficult
ge4/6 and 4/6
well esp with teens it is very touchy
one ge is ge4.7 what kids get instead of a high school diploma
ge4/7:g + more than one talking horse 72 Temple Owl
i meant discouraged from talking about it
ty. what does the 8 begin with?
Other ge4/7 is ge + Evano**t (babbler) 72 Temple Owl
so 8
compound word (portion + time)
need 8 more
go TO
is 8 a compound word?
yes, TO
yes, to
wanna hear some good news??? I handed in my retirement papers today, signed, sealed, delivered!
ty
congrats, jbv
6
I am done! I have fireworks! jo6/39 was my last word

yw
sorry all -- talking about food and Tom brought me my dish so of course I prioritized! LOL
Hi rolo
good min, should be looking for a job, but, I need some fun too
hi mom
I will Mom
Hi Rolo - its a mom echo (sort of)
oh Weiik, I'm sorry.
Stidmama, read my profile cartoon.Think it's amusing
I can actually see that now Min with my new monitor - live that in true life with my kids
TO , have you finished?
seems no one is hiring anyone over 55 anymore mom, not to be sorry, just encourge employers to hire again
Oh boy, only 3 left
I hope you find work soon.
Hi Fuzzybunny, good to see you again
I know the tax man wishes the same
Sorry to hear of your troubles weiik - I know that - some of the best employees to hire are over 55 - they car a whole lot.
Min, that is only too true. Our kids have a much streamlined test this year (since the old state superintendent was booted out)... but it's still high stakes and many schools are still spending a lot of time prepping the kids and taking practice tests over more productive instructional activities.
weiik, check out businesses that are supported by aarp.
go fuzzy go
last 3 jobs I've had were all outsourced to asia
hi fuzzy
I'm working hard
what are your skill, weiik
thanks ibd, haven't thought about that, I'm now trying gov't(fed/state)
we are coast to coast stid and didnt realize we are on the same regime (dont what else to call it)
ibd, i'm a programmer / analyst with mainframe shops
done, state/banks/manufactures/defense
where are you weiik
Hello fuzzybunny! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
hmmm, let me think of some places to check out, weiik. i'm sure there's someone looking for you!
where abouts do you live Weiik
are you on linkedin, weiik?
thxks much ibd, mom, I'm in philly-where the steak sandwiches are
On top of the state tests, the district wants them to also take a field test: is a combination of ELA & math
stid, i've not looked there yet
and very good sanwiches they are
th** .... oops
Im just north of you in NH - you may need to move a bit - may be jobs up here.
weiik, do you have a masters or higher?
philly - the airport I couldnt get to a couple months ago - lucky you getting snowed in
Mom, I am just to your east in Maine
linkedin seems to have a lot of potential for job searchers... and it's free (that's the only reason I can afford an account)
stid, i've just googled linkedin, mom, i've looked as far south as NC and up to NY, idb, I do not have a masters, just 36 yrs exp
Where in New Hampshire Momneedshelp?I grew up in Vermont, but I went to high school in Hanover, NH.
most people are looking for mistresses not masters
anyway, that's about the best I can think of from here.
LOL rururocks
dam*, no wonder i can't get a job! i want to be the master!
mom, the snow was brutal here
I am in the small town of Weare (no comment you folks on where?) just west of Concord. I work in Concord - 15 miles away.
weiik, check out some of the community colleges. they often will take the years of experience towards education. especially in the Information management area
my company pays small money but will look into IT dept to see if any openings. Good company but too small to pay the big bucks
brb, need more tea
well off to job search again, thanks all for advice, ibd, r u refering to getting a masters, do u think that would make a difference]
I am in Carrabassett Valley, home of Sugarloaf. We are forecasted to get 6 to 12 inches of snow by tomorrow afternoon!
a masters would help, but with 36 years of experience that may also get you in the door.
((weiik)) sending good thoughts your way
speaking of snow - expecting 10 inches up north tonight - go figure - may get a few flakes here
good luck weiik, come back again soon.
ibd, i'm desperate enough that i've even doing carpentry jobs to make some money
no no no, no more snow talk
good luck weiik
but 78 on saturday!
going to be nice here tomorrow..
I'm a skier, so thrilled about the snow.
thxks mom, back to job search .. chat later .. poof .. no snow here ibd, just cold again, but, a long line at the steak sandwich place the other nite, PATS in south phill
tuckermans is the only thing open - but watch out for avalanches
did I mention you need to hike up with your gear - have fun
back in a splash
I used to ski there every spring when I was younger. I am determined to make it back up there before I am 60!
I am off to take a shower and go to bed. See ya later
isnt it always nice in the Napa Valley Ruru
Goodnight to my fellow babblers!I'll see you tomorrow

bye bye Sandyloo
have fun, sandy
btw: do we have any bankers here? I have an ELOC question...
I am not Pini, sorry
it's ok...i can wait for the bank rep
what is ELOC?
equity line of credit
storms, not firewords, i got those earlier today.
congrats on fireworks LBD
congrats, lbd...hope the storm passes soon
ah, I see now
I'm working on consolidating a loan into my ELOC to get the better interest rate and the ability to claim the interest on my taxes...
that is a good idea, we did that when we had to purchase a car
that's the loan I'm consolidating :)
it is great to have the tax deduction
no kidding!
If I knew I cold do it when I bought the darn thing, I would have been able to claim at least 4 months of interest on this past tax return...
cold = could
we took a car note at first and then got the equity line and the best part of it was there was not charge for the equity line
and paid the car note off
and the interest rate was better than the car note
that's what I'm working on, Mom, but they're also talking about converting it all into an equity loan instead of line of credit...was hoping to find out the difference (without asking the banker)
my ELOC rate is definitely better than the car note
not being a banker mind you .... but I think if you are using the equity in your home they would be one in the same. Some call them a loan and some call them a line of credit
we took x dollars as equity on the house paid off the car note and still have money left in the equity line
They mentioned the ELOC is like a revolving credit account; whereas the loan is static - has to do with the way the interest accrues?
hmm didn't realize that
I took a dip on the ELOC to make the cash downpayment on the car, put the balance on a car note, but now want to roll it all to the ELOC
either way the interest deduction is worth it
definitely!!!
I have enjoyed our chat Pini, but it is my bed time. Take care and thank you so much for the clues. {{Hugs}}
thx for the "confirmation"

ha5?
since i'm new tonight, can you tell me what ha5 means?
oh hi hi hi angel
if you look below the tile stats you will see a link for lickety
ha5 = word starts with ha and has 5 letters
lickety creates a list giving all the first two letters and points for all the words in the grid
so you will find in the list ha5/22 which means a word with 5 letter first two ha and the total points 22
excellent-thx jmc
you are so welcome angel!
how are you finding the grid?
(i could still use a clue torg)
i like it, but a bit frustrating
Don't have it ..
it can be a bit but the clues and the people make it all worth while

uh oh...got one that was out of date?
Out of date. Try dinosaur. It was a stray one from 14th April.
oh my!
It is not his fault. It is completely the stores fault. I rang them and told them to do a check. They are very very good on quality control. I would say this one fell under the radar.
are they going to replace it for you?
Yes they are
WOW I am seeing my friends work on tv. amazing

welcome to the grid, dalia
ANy way there is this girl that the solder meets and he goes to her house. The old lace dolies that are about the house she made
ty--didn't know that was a word!
I love lace doilies! the work that goes into them is incredible!
yvw dalia
She did all of them
I watched some tatters in Italy wh4 I was there...I got lost just watching! :)
* escorting self to PB *
It is a very typical Greek Family in Preston in the 1940s
I used to live in that area and it is so wonderful
I've thought about looking into learning how to tat...
I believe this is all crocheted or is that what you call tatting?
...wondering if I could find so4one locally who does it; I've seen so4 of the written instructions and could get lost within the first 3 words!
crotching is different from tatting...
Ok. I think that is the same
OPPS not the same
I crotchet (and actually have done 1 doilie)...mostly baby blankets...
need to learn to type
so much for any spelling skills I might have had! :)
Snap mine is worse
* giggle *
if so, I'm right behind you!
I just forget to think
damn it I have 2 kilos of chicken to make into food AND try and get it into the freezer
I think my fingers just run wild without waiting for my brain!
save so4 for me!!! :)
Well someone in the hosue thought it was a brillant idea to get two weeks worth of food not thinking about how we would freeze it
uh whoops
told you they are hopeless
* snicker *
His response ''Eat faster'' Ok you figure that one out
ROFL!
We are looking at getting a bigger fridge
I don't use mine much anymore since the kids moved out...
But they are so expensive (even at trade price) and the don't ahve mega freezer capacity
I'd send mine, but the shipping is probably more expensive than the unit itself.
true
credit for the brilliant idea tho, right? * giggle *
yep
Why did I start this stupid thing
so I can clue you across the line?
think I am cluesless and it is going to be a while
15 minutes left ... holler if you want 'em! :)
